You're Good Together, Man
Anonymous request - Joey's friend comes to town, and everyone's shocked that Joey doesn't like her in a more than friend way. When Chandler gets nervous during a conversation and leaves upset, the reader follows him to see what's wrong.

Walking up the stairs in the building I finally found the right apartment door knocking three times on the door until it opened, revealing Joey, my best friend. "Hey Joe, I finally made it."
"Hey y/n. I can’t believe you could come this weekend. Oh you've got to meet my friends across the hall." He told me closing the apartment door behind him.
Nodding my head, yes I followed him across the hallway. We entered the apartment seeing a few different people all hanging out on the couch. There was a blonde girl, another with black straight hair and finally a third girl with light brown hair. I saw there was one guy that was wearing a bright blue shirt but had similar hair to one of the girls meaning they were siblings. “Hey guys this is my friend Y/n from school.”
“Hey everybody.” I raised my hand with a smile.
The girl with dark black hair came over to me. “I’m Monica, so how do you two know each other?”
“We met when he was first looking for acting jobs. My father was holding auditions when we met. And this guy knows how to have fun watching movies and ordering pizza.” I shrugged my shoulders nudging Joey.
The girl with light brown hair came up and hugged me. “I’m Rachel. So Joey, have you two ever dated or anything?”
“Me and Y/n.” Joey started laughing.
Covering my mouth I couldn’t help but laugh along with him. Joey and I had never considered being in a relationship together. Hitting my hands on my knees I was still laughing. “We would never work out. He’s like a brother to me. Always has been always will be.”
“Yeah. How you doin’ don’t work on her.” Joey replied with a cheeky smile.
The guy that was wearing a blue sweatshirt and sat on the couch spun around joking. “Was it because of your snoring or was it because you're crazy enough to not go out with your friend.”
“I’m not afraid of asking her out.” He replied to the other guy.
Clasping my hand together I sit down at the table. The last guy that looked like Monica came over to me suggesting a nice offer. “Hi I’m Ross, Monica’s brother. Well how about I take you out to dinner while Joey is at his audition.”
“No! You’re with Rachel or whatever is going on between you two.” Joey pointed his finger.
Ross throws his hands away from his side. “What’s wrong with me taking her to dinner.”
“Because you are with Rachel.” He said.
Rachel made a face. “Joey, we’re not together now. I broke up with him a few weeks ago.”
“But then you 're telling us how much you missed him after a few glasses of wine.” The blonde named Phoebe teased her.
Rachel started getting nervous and I could tell there was something going on between them. Joey had told me that he had two friends who had an on and off again thing. “Guys, I don’t like Ross anymore.”
“Sure that’s what they all said before you wake up in the middle of the night and scream oh my gosh I love Ross.”
Ross rolled his eyes. “Not helping Chandelier.”
“Oh sorry I was talking about pizza.” Chandler chuckled at him.
I smiled, shifting my gaze over to the Chandler guy. It had been a while since I had been on a date. Since my father was an actor most of the guys that seemed interested in me were ones who wanted a part in his shows or movies. If they didn’t get the part then I wouldn’t see them again. “Chandler, do you have a girlfriend?”
“Uh no I prefer being alone and horny.” He answered my question by rubbing the back of his neck. “Are you seeing anybody or just pining over Joey?”
Joey throws his hands up. “Stop hitting on her.”
“You’re just denying your feelings for her.” Phoebe smiled.
Joey stomped around the apartment pointing fingers at his two guy friend’s being all dramatic over their teasing on whether or not we had feelings for one another. “There’s nothing going on. You aren’t dating her and you aren’t dating her.”
Chandler got up from the couch walking up to him. “Wait why me. I get Ross but me. Am I so crazy that no girl would go out with me?”
“You and Ross repel women all the time.” My best friend explained before I watched Chandler move past him and shut the door quickly behind himself. Watching the door for a second I don’t know what came over me but I get up to my feet slipping through the door and across the hallway.
Shutting the door quietly I noticed that Chandler was laying on the couch and there was half of a pizza missing from a box on the floor. “Hey, are you open to sharing some of that pizza with me?”
“Actually Joe, I want this pizza for the rest of my life.” He sat up hearing me laugh at his comment. “Y/n, oh sorry sure.”
Kicking my shoes off at the door I went over to him I plopped down on the couch beside him. We ate pizza in silence until I remembered what he had said earlier. “So is this how you get all the girls to your apartment huh. Mistake them for your best friend and then apologize with pizza?”
“Actually, no. I have decided that I would rather die alone.” He replies to me.
Shaking my head I nervously smiled. “You joke a lot.”
“Yeah sorry I started using jokes as a safety measure after my parents got divorced. It works on the ladies at first but here I am sitting with you shoving my face with pizza.”
“Oh you mean like this?” I throw pepperoni at his face.
He shakes his head smiling and throwing some at me. I leaned forward trying to grab a full on slice and throw it across his face. But I fell off the couch when he tried to catch me and we tumbled to the ground together. “Oh geez Y/n.”
“Awe sorry for the mess.” I apologize seeing that we were both covered in red pizza sauce and cheese now laying on the floor with him on top of me. “Crap it’s late and I have to take two different trains to get home.”
Chandler focused his attention onto mine and he couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to date you. You had a fun side that was easy to get along with. You didn’t find his nervous joke gag weird. “You could stay here tonight if you want.”
“I wouldn’t want to intrude. This is your apartment.” I sat up where he offered me his hands helping me to my feet.
He laid down on the couch with open arms telling me to lay down with him. “I live with Joey. Trust me your company would be less crazy. I’ll even stay up with ya till you fall asleep.” I nodded laying down with him on the couch curling up on his chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist so I wouldn’t fall on the floor and we remained that way until we fell asleep together.
A few hours later the apartment door opened again and Chandler lifted his head up quickly waking up seeing Joey was back. He panicked feeling Y/n fully asleep on his chest so he couldn’t run away like he wanted. “Joe, it’s not what it looks like. I’m not messing around with her I swear.”
“Shhh you’ll wake her up.” Joey raised a hand to his mouth.
Chandler eyed his roommate confused. “Aren’t you mad after you said we couldn’t date her?”
“Nah man. She has been through some bad relationships in the past that’s why I said no to Ross.” Joey smiled reassuringly seeing a smile on your face when she snuggled up against Chandler more. “You two would be good together.”
Chandler went to move his arm shocked that he said the words. In such a short time he had found himself wanting to spend more time with his friend. “You’re not gonna be mad if I ask her out?”
“Ask away brother. Don’t wake her up now..” Joey crossed the room pausing outside his room before leaving the pair alone. That next morning you were more than happy to say yes to a date with Chandler.

The One With
Joey's Food
ー
Joey Tribbiani
x
Reader
Summary: JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD... However it seems that rule might not apply when it comes to you.
Author's Note: Someone asked me to publish my Joey fanfics, so this one is for you. <3
ps. I made that iconic Joey's Meatball Sub, it really made me feel alive again.
New comfort food unlocked
ー
You were so tired, and hungry.
Oh dear, you could eat a horse right now. Or maybe not if that meant eating the entire horse.
Finally you got yourself inside being greeted with everyone else except Joey.
Where was he? You could really just snuggle against your friend to forget all your worries. Joey felt like home, he felt safe.
Except Chandler would disagree with you, strongly, not that you could blame him after that robbery thingy.
"It's a zombie! Everybody, run!", Chandler shouted while jumping behind Ross and pushing him towards you.
"Hey!", Ross squeaked realising that Chandler, his best friend since the beginning of time, was sacrificing him to this supposed 'zombie'.
"Hahaha", you laughed a dry sarcastic laugh while getting your jacket off.
"What happened to you?", Rachel asked noticing your disheveled look.
"Your eye bags-", Rachel was saying before you gave her a stern look that did shut her up.
Monica also gave Rachel an are-you-serious look before helping you sit down at the kitchen tables chair
"Work huh?", Monica asked already knowing what was behind your current state.
Before you started to explain Joey made a grand appearance with his iconic sandwich. It makes your stomach growl and mouth water.
Joey sat at the table next to you, he gave you a tender look before getting ready to destroy his food, with the intention of not leaving even crumbs behind.
"So. I got to work a few hours early because my boss asked me to and as we know my boss, I couldn't refuse-", you started taking a deep breath.
"I had my mom's cooking for lunch, but there was so much going on I didn't have time to eat. And when I finally did- that ass had eaten it! My food! It was supposed to be the only good thing today, and it was taken away from me", you rambled trying not to break down completely.
"Oh, this reminds me of that 'MY SANDWICH' thing", Chandler said looking at Ross who just looked back at him shooting daggers out of his eyes.
"Oh, this gets much worse. I confronted that- idiot and it got a bit heated. Long story short, I got fired", you ended your story leaving out the details of wandering around the city crying your eyes out.
"Let's celebrate!", Phoebe cheered from the couch making everyone turn to look at her.
"Yeah, you hated that job! More than I hated serving coffee!", Rachel said trying to comfort you.
"I didn't hate the job, but the people", you muttered burying your face into your hands.
"That's my girl!", Chandler cheered giving you a quick pat on the back before hurrying towards the armchair.
Your stomach made a loud noise and you felt truly awful.
"Do you have anything to eat Monica? I don't have anything at home", you asked carefully your voice cracking slightly.
"I need to go quickly to the store-", Monica started hurrying to gather her stuff.
"Here, you can have my meatball sub"
The time seemed to slow down.
Phoebe stopped chewing her hair.
Rachel had her hand covering her mouth that was hanging open.
Monica dropped her purse to the floor.
Chandler almost fell off the armchair.
Ross had a look on his face that would be expected if someone would prove to him that dinosaurs had never existed.
You lifted your head to see Joey smiling and offering his food, to you, you.
Joey had a small amount of the sauce on his face.
"I already took a couple of bites if that's okay", he said looking a bit sheepish.
"Really?", you asked voice slightly shaky, knowing that nobody else dared to move or speak.
Joey nodded and you reached towards him. But to everyone's surprise you didn't take the sandwich.
However you got up and put your arms around his neck. Burying your face to his neck you mumbled so many thank you's that nobody could say exactly how many there was.
Maybe ten? Hundred? Hundreds? Who knows.
Then you gave a kiss to his cheek before pulling away and snatching the sandwich from him.
Eagerly you started eating it and you moaned slightly at the most delicious thing you had ever eaten.
"JOEY DOESN'T SHARE FOOD!", everyone suddenly shouted after they switched glances between each other.
Joey tried to look like he had no idea what they were talking about, his face was oddly red and he was feeling warm and fuzzy.
Joey loved seeing you happy, he could sacrifice one meatball sub for your happiness.
But only one.
When Joey looked at you eating happily his favourite Meatball Sub he couldn't even see anything else than you. He didn't even care about his friends who were still shocked and wanted answers.
Joey would give you every meatball sub for the rest of his life if it meant seeing you so utterly happy.
But he wanted a bite, at least.

📺 09: Why You Should Watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S : A PSA From a Certified Sarcasm Connoisseur (aka Me) 🛋️
Alright, if you haven’t watched Friends yet, first of all—what are you doing with your life?! Second, allow me to present my case (with minimal bias and maximum sass) on why this legendary sitcom deserves a spot in your heart, your screen time, and your vocabulary.
1. It’s the Ultimate Comfort Show™
You know that warm, cozy feeling you get when you eat mac and cheese or wear your favorite hoodie? Friends is that in TV form. It’s the show you turn to after a bad day, during a mental breakdown, or while procrastinating every responsibility in your life. It has that magical ability to make the world feel a little less awful.
Whether it's the familiar theme song or the way you just know Chandler is about to say something sarcastic, Friends offers consistency in a world that’s anything but. The characters become your people. The apartment becomes your second home. And the chaos? Therapeutic. Absolutely therapeutic.
2. Chandler Bing Exists. That’s It. That’s the Reason.
Chandler Bing is the human embodiment of "laughing through the pain." If sarcasm were a superpower, he’d be on the Avengers lineup. He’s witty, self-deprecating, emotionally repressed in the most hilarious way, and somehow still manages to be one of the most relatable characters on the show.
If you’ve ever made a joke instead of expressing a real feeling, Chandler is your spirit animal. And honestly? Watching him stumble his way through love, friendship, and adulthood while using humor as his emotional shield is more healing than any self-help book.
3. Joey Tribbiani’s Brain is a National Treasure
He may not be the brightest bulb in the chandelier, but Joey is loyal, hilarious, and will always share his food (…okay, no, he won’t, but still). His dramatic acting, his “How you doin’?”—you will quote him. You will love him.
Whether he’s doing a terrible audition, giving dating advice he 100% should not be giving, or yelling "Joey doesn’t share food!" he’s pure joy. You don’t watch Joey to learn; you watch him because he reminds you it’s okay to be goofy and genuine.
4. Monica Geller: The Patron Saint of Control Freaks
Monica is all of us who organize their closet by color, alphabetize their spice rack, and aggressively clean when stressed. But beneath the cleaning obsessions and ultra-competitive streak is a woman who loves fiercely and always shows up for her people.
She’s loud. She’s competitive. She’s got a label maker and a need for clean that rivals the Avengers' need for therapy. But she’s also heart, loyalty, and badassery wrapped in a chef’s apron.
5. Phoebe Buffay is Straight-Up Iconic
Who else could sing “Smelly Cat” with such conviction? Who else casually mentions her past as a mugger while giving life advice? No one. She’s weird, she’s wise, she’s a chaotic neutral goddess.
She teaches us that being different is a gift, not a flaw. Whether she’s singing, threatening to cut someone, or casually dropping a dark backstory mid-conversation, she’s the reminder we all need that life doesn’t have to be normal to be beautiful.
6. Ross Geller is... Well, He’s There.
Ross is the most academically accomplished and emotionally unhinged member of the group. He’s a walking contradiction: intelligent but clueless, passionate but petty, romantic but awkward. His dramatic breakdowns and dinosaur rants are a special flavor of chaos.
Despite all his drama (and the many divorces), he’s oddly endearing. You don’t root for Ross because he’s perfect. You root for him because he’s real in his messiness. And let’s be honest, "We were on a break!" is a lifestyle now.
7. Rachel Green’s Character Development is Chef’s Kiss
Rachel starts as the runaway bride who can’t even make coffee, and ends as a fashion icon with a career, a daughter, and her own backbone. Watching her figure out life on her own terms is equal parts relatable and empowering.
And let's not ignore the fashion. Rachel Green gave us looks. But beyond the outfits, she showed us how to grow, to take risks, and to believe in yourself even when you start from scratch. She’s proof that you can have both vulnerability and ambition.
8. The Vibes Are Immaculate
Central Perk. The purple apartment. The ugly naked guy. The Thanksgiving disasters. The wedding mishaps. The random cameos. The couch. Everything feels like home.
Even Ugly Naked Guy (yup, he’s real) becomes a comforting presence. The show builds a universe where everything is interconnected—from "The One With All the Thanksgivings" to "The One Where Everybody Finds Out." It’s comfort TV with legacy.
9. You Will Start Speaking Fluent Friends
It starts small—maybe a “Could I be wearing any more clothes?” here, a “Pivot!” there—and next thing you know, you’re responding to compliments with “I KNOW!” like you’re on a Broadway stage.
The writing is just that good. It weaves itself into your brain and sets up camp. And before you know it, you’re referencing Monica’s towel system or singing "Smelly Cat" at 2 a.m. without shame. Welcome to the club.
10. The Emotional Damage Hits Just Right
It’s not just comedy. The emotional moments hit hard. From Chandler and Monica’s adoption arc to Ross seeing Emma for the first time to Rachel’s goodbye scene—your heart will be stomped on gently, but in a good way. Like a hug that punches you in the feels.
This show isn’t just about relationships and coffee—it’s about growth, chaos, ridiculous situations, and six lovable weirdos trying to figure out adulthood. Sound familiar?
And that’s what makes the show magical. It balances gut-busting laughter with real, raw, soul-punching moments. You cry with them. You grow with them. And when that final scene fades out, you’re not just watching a show. You’re saying goodbye to six friends who made you laugh, cry, and feel a little less alone.
Bonus: Because Serena Said So.
I mean, honestly. Do you need more reason?
F.R.I.E.N.D.S is not just a show—it’s a cultural landmark. You’ll finally understand the memes. The fandom. The group references. You’ll make new friends by quoting it. It’s like unlocking a secret society.
Now go. Watch the pilot. Get hooked. Cry when the series ends. Then restart it from the beginning like the rest of us emotionally damaged, coffee-loving goofballs.
🛋️✨ “I’ll be there for youuuuuu…” clap clap clap clap! ✨🛋️
