Authors will write fictional characters in the 1990s that are basically an amalgamation of homophobic tropes then go online in the 2020s and talk about how iconic they were for writing lgbtq characters then like HELLO??
#not naming names because this person has a legion of unhinged fans who get extremely aggressive at the merest hint that he might not be#the saviour of gay people of whatever#to be clear. I think he's a very skilled writer in many ways. hence why I have read almost all his books.#and well he did certainly write lots of lgbtq characters. BUT. UM??? I am 95% sure that most of the people going on about how he's a gay#icon or whatever for writing the characters. has not read any of his books except for the super popular ones. anyway!

You can request any FNAF (or any fan game!) character as long as there's some sort of official art or model of them. This includes characters from the games, books, movies, and whatever else exists.
You can request more than one character!
If you want a specific image of a character used, add it into your ask!
You'll be able to check if requests are open or not in the blog description. You'll also be able to see how many posts are in the queue, and when you might see your request! As a result, this blog is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE.
I will not get involved with any discourse. If you have something you wanna say, keep it to yourself and keep scrolling. Thank you.
Iâm not just limited to pride flags! If itâs a flag, Iâll probably do it!
If your ask involves the words âbiâ and âMikeâ, âMichaelâ, or any variation of those two words, itâs probably getting deleted. So try not to waste your time writing your ask.
(below are image id's for my icon and header)
[Icon ID: Official art of Gregory in front of a color-picked aroace flag. The aroace flag has orange, yellow, white, light blue, and blue stripes. Gregory is a young boy with warm light skin, brown eyes, and messy brown hair. He wears a blue beanie with a pom-pom at the top, and a black-and-blue winter jacket. He smiles, his mouth open.]
[Header ID: Official art from Steel Wool with a rainbow overlay. The art depicts the Glamrocks-Glamrock Chica, Glamrock Freddy, Roxy, and Monty-as gingerbread men. All except Freddy are depicted with their injuries they sustained in-game. Text reads âHAPPY HOLIDAYS!â And beneath that, âSTEEL WOOL STUDIOSâ.]

âââââ Rule Book âââââ
Just a few notes on my RP rules.
01. Flexible.Â
⧠First off, Iâm willing to rp with anyone from any fandom and even OCs. Concerning plots, we can always work something out and see what happens next. Iâm pretty flexible with ideas so I can rp anything.Â
⧠I RP canon/au/crossoversâŚeven crack just for the hell of it. Whatever as long as it's fun.
02. Shipping.Â
⧠I am willing to be multishipping with anyone, I guess it depends on how the chemistry is between our characters. Who knows if itâll work out.
3. NSFW.
⧠NSFW, Iâm willing to do this as well but please it has to be 18 and over, Mun is over 18. No exceptions. Â
⧠NSFW threads will be either under Read More or not, it all depends on my rp partner. And they will be tagged accordingly, #;; nsfw #;; nsfw-ish.
THERE WILL BE TRIGGER WARNING ON EVERY TAGS I MAKE WITH JAEKYUNG WHEN ITS NEEDED. As we know, the manhwa is graphic. I would like to express that despite how I am portraying this character, I will portray him as in the manhwa, he is rude and brutal.
4. Godmoding.Â
⧠No Godmoding, which is obvious. So please do not do that.
05. Threads.Â
⧠If I do forget a thread, please let me know since I tend to be busy with work and real life. But don't mention it every 10 minutes. It just gets annoying and makes me think of not responding. Not to be a pain but I want to be considerate.
06. Hate.Â
⧠I will not and refuse to tolerate hate that is sent to me. So donât bother because Iâll block you on sight. Do not send any kind of hate to anyone. I know a lot of people may not like this character so please be respectful and do not send me hate messages. I will just ignore and click delete, so please don't bother.
07. Asks.Â
⧠My inbox is open 24/7. Anons are welcome, same for any random asks from any of my followers. I enjoy talking OOC as well so please feel free to ask me anything! And don't be afraid to approach me!
08. Followers.Â
⧠New follow starters are not written (it's because I suck at coming up with starters ;3;) but feel free to tag me if you have one! But if I do feel inspired to send you one, I will tag you, and it's up to you if you want to reply or not. If you don't, no hard feelings!
09. Disclaimer.Â
⧠Disclaimer: I do not own any of the series that my muses are in, they belong to their respectful owners. I will add more information as I continue to work on this blog.
10. Muse =/= Mun.Â
â§I do not condone what my muse does, or say. I have a muse who could do terrible things and in many people's eyes, is a complete jerk. I do agree with most of the things he has done, but I believe in my heart as the manhwa progresses, I think Jaekyung will come around and be a better person. The manwha is not completed yet so who knows what will happen in the future.
However, I donât condone his behavior or his words when he hurts others. Just because I write it doesnât mean I condone such a thing.
11. Icons. ⧠Icon template by @jessource Icons are made, cleaned, and edited by me so pleaseâŚdonât steal. Fanart, gifs are not mine, and if I have the source for them, I will make sure to post it. But if I canât find them, I will let you all know and I would appreciate it if you help me in finding them. If the creator doesnât want me to use them, then I will immediately apologize and take them down.
12. Jaekyung face claim: Park Seo Joon (ex. THE DIVINE FURY in 2019)
Mun.
â§Hello, My name is Bernice, but you can call me B. I have been rping for almost 15+ years under different platforms, 7 of which are on Tumblr. Mun is 35+ and has a busy life. I tend to disappear randomly due to it. So please forgive me as I do that.
I also have two other blogs, @swimmingforthegold & @changeandmovingon
⧠Well thatâs all, thank you for reading and thank you for following me. Hope to rp with you all soon. :3

My wishes for Season 3 of Dead End: Paranormal Park!
âThis contains spoilers for both seasons. Also, please donât spoil me with book content, I canât read it đ
â˘More Courtney lore. We still donât know what she did to get banished, and the way she was initially dealt with, (memory loss, trapping her in the neutral plane) even for most of season 2, (kept on watch by fingers instead of being put with the other fallen, along with all the ominous âhe has plans for youâ that didnât amount to shit) is very clearly shown to not be the normal procedure, and also the symmetrical broken haloâŚ.What Is Up With Them. After all the foreshadowing and hints, itâd be disappointing if they werenât important in some way.
Sheâs shown to have a lot of self-loathing, especially about her internalized prejudice against her species (Plural. Bc her situation isâŚcomplicated, now đ
) . Maybe, while/since her friends wonât be around as often, she decides to investigate her past, something spurred on by talking with the other Fallen Angels and realizing how different her experience is. This could be an opportunity to explore the angels, as well.
â˘Please, for the love of all that is good in this world, no more time travel. At all. we as a society have moved past the need to time travel. You kind of have to refer to the past events but donât make any character time travel anymore please đ
â˘Norma being a bit of an anti-villain, at least for a while, due to the season two ending. Alongside that, I need some shenanigans of the Zagan, Norma and Temelechus possible trio because hello???? Iconic potential???? Itâd also be a good opportunity to give Zagan more depth, she needs it.
â˘Normaâs autism gets at least name-dropped. Please⌠for me đĽşđĽşđĽş? Especially if she has a tiny plot where her feeling like her mom treats her like a little kid is actually addressed because, oof. Itâs relatable to a lot of us!
â˘Aro Badyah!!! Based on this clip. There arenât many aro characters, especially ones who have it dealt with in the actual show, itâd be so important to me. Especially because Badyah thinking she has to be straight because so much of our world revolves around romance that you canât escape it, itâs everywhere. I headcannon she can find people attractive and mistakes that for romantic feelings.
â˘So far, Barney seems like the kind of character who had all their development/arc in season one, so heâs stuck as static for the rest of the show. However! The show can save this!!! His relation to Pugsley is something that will spark a change in his behavior. His feelings of grief and (implied) survivorâs guilt gotta have some focus, even if the show keeps a lighthearted tone. However, while he shouldnât find out in the first episodes, Barney definitely needs to be majorly involved in Pugsleyâs thing. Which, speaking ofâŚ.
â˘Whatever tf Pugsleyâs got going onâŚ.not gonna lie, I have no idea for what and how itâll happen, except that I hope itâs creepy and that it brings him back. Also, as mentioned before, Barney has to be majorly involved in it.
â˘The main gang feels a bit separated (Normaâs revenge alliance with the demons, Barney and Logs traveling, Pusgleyâs wtf credits, my Courtney suggestion) in the ending, lean into that. Of course, they still hang out, but itâd showcase the big negative impacts the finale had on the cast, while exploring the quadrupleâs writing on their own more. Near the climax, all their storylines would combine, and that could be sooo cool!!!
â˘Clone Courtney was, from what I remember, missing from the prison break out. Not even a single backround shot, when we gave the other two clones some time to shine! Plus, didnât you find it off that they just put Courtney in the F.A.P after all the ominous âHe has plans for youâ talk? Well. I need me some stuff about that.
Sorry for rambling, haha! Thinking of the great potential of season three keeps me from disliking the ending, lmao.

Judging the Danganronpa x Sanrio character pairings
You may have already heard that a DANGANRONPA X SANRIO line of crossover merch was announced a few days ago! Which is obviously AMAZING, because theyâre combining cutesy characters that have often been marketed to wee children with everybodyâs favorite murderdeathkill game! I LOVE IT.
I have a niece who went through a Sanrio/Hello Kitty phase, so I actually know a few of these characters. In turn, this means that I have THOUGHTS on how the DR1 and Sanrio cast were paired up.
Granted, I still had to look up a lot of these guys and read about them. But now I feel adequately educated to the point where I can judge just how well the Danganronpa and Sanrio pairings actually match up.Â
Makoto Naegi/Cinnamoroll - Obviously this totally works because Makoto IS something of a cinnamon roll, eh? EH? But Cinnamoroll is said to be shy albeit still very friendly. He also likes to seek out fun new adventures. So, aside from âvery friendly,â Iâm not sure that this sounds like Makoto. I also doubt that calling a character a âcinnamon rollâ is common slang in Japan. So this is whatever.
Sayaka Maizono/Wish Me Mell - Mell has the power to connect peopleâs hearts by simply stating the feelings they keep inside. She was initially withdrawn and believed she didnât have any friends, but the people who cared for her finally broke through her shell and convinced her that she DOES have friends. So uh, Maizono... I guess music can also bring out peopleâs feelings? And perhaps you could plausibly HC that Sayaka has often felt like her surrounding friends were âfakeâ and only there because of her celebrity status. Thereâs not really much to go on here.Â
Leon Kuwata/Tiran - Tiran is an orange T-rex that is said to be scatterbrained but still a strong and reliable leader. Meanwhile, Leon has orange hair, and heâs certainly strong and kind of scatterbrained sometimes. It sorta works.
Kyoko Kirigiri/Marroncream - Marroncream is bright, positive, and fashionable. She is talented at making crafts and sweets. She lives in Paris. She has nearly nothing in common with Kyoko, although Kyoko did live abroad a lot in her younger years. So I could try to latch onto the Paris thing.
Hifumi Yamada/Pokopon - Pokopon is a raccoon that loves to read but dislikes ghosts and âthe thunder god.â (uh... what?) He also finishes his sentences with the unusual suffix â-das.â Of course, Hifumi loves to write (which certainly is connected to reading), and he likes to end all names with a weird suffix (â-donoâ), so I can see how they might make a cute pair.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru/Pekkle - Pekkle is a duck who is good-natured and kind. He loves to sing and dance. It kind of sounds like he shouldâve been matched with Sayaka, but instead heâs here with Taka. While Ishimaru is definitely a good person, I donât think most people would immediately describe him as âkind.â And he certainly isnât known for his love of music.
Yasuhiro Hagakure/Monkichi - Monkichi is a laid-back, easygoing guy who is upbeat and loves puns. His dream is to become a poet. Itâs said that once he sets his mind on something, there is no stopping him! And in comparison, Hagakure is... well, heâs kind of laid-back in the sense that heâs kind of lazy? But heâs actually pretty high-stress a lot of the time, too. Honestly, thereâs not much linking the two.
Chihiro Fujisaki/Kurousa and Shirousa - Shirousa is the white one and is the older sibling to Kurousa, the brown one. Shirousa is described as an energetic leader and Kurousa is described as being nice but lazy. They like to make cakes. What does any of this have to do with Chihiro? Beats me. This particular pairing is nonsense.
Byakuya Togami/Badtz-Maru - Badtz-Maru is said to have a bad attitude and dreams of being âthe boss of everythingâ when he grows up. He tends to act a bit selfish, and he mocks things he dislikes/disagrees with. He enjoys expensive food and collecting photos of movie villains. With the exception of that last point, Iâd have to say that this sounds like a near-perfect match for Togami.
Mondo Owada/Goropikadon - The Goropikadon are a group of cave boys whose actual names are Goro (blue hair), Pika (pink hair), and Don (teal hair). Goro is always hungry and joking around. PIka is a thoughtful, shy mamaâs boy. Don is serious and places a high value on honesty. Overall, I suppose that how quick Mondo is to get angry and resort to violence kind of makes him seem like a stereotypical caveman? But in terms of their distinct personalities, only Donâs focus on honesty rings true for Mondo.Â
Toko Fukawa/Lloromannic - Another multi-character one. The Llormannic are a pair of creatures named Berry (the black one, who is male) and Cherry (the pink one, who is female). They are mischievous and love to play pranks on humans. Cherry was originally alone and created Berry for companionship; however, she mixed up her magic spell ingredients and used salt when she meant to use sugar, which resulted in Berry turning out to be a more hostile being than Cherry. I suppose the fact that Berry is a darker creation of Cherryâs sort of reflects the relationship between Toko and her other self, Genocide(r) Syo/Jack. However, Berry and Cherry are still best friends. Toko and Syo/Jack are definitely not that.
Celestia Ludenberg/Kuromi - Kuromi is the rival of a bunny named âMy Melodyâ who doesnât appear in this promotion. Kuromi is said to look âtough and punkâ in her jesterâs hat with the pink skull on it, but in reality she is very girly. She enjoys writing in her diary, reading romance books, cooking, and checking out good-looking guys. I suppose Celestia did have that dream of living in a mansion where she was served by handsome guys dressed as vampires? So... they both like hot guys? But thatâs all Iâve got here. Pretty sure this pairing only exists for aesthetic reasons. And admittedly, their aesthetics mesh very well.
Aoi Asahina/Keroppi - Keroppi lives with his family on the edge of Donut Pond. He is bubbly, a fantastic swimmer and, because of the name of his home pond, is often associated with donuts and/or things that are donut-shaped. Ok, so this was an obvious pairing, then. They nailed it. Probably the single best pairing they came up with.
Sakura Ogami/My Sweet Piano - Yes, the characterâs name is literally âMy Sweet Piano.â Sheâs described as soft, kind, and girly. Given Sakuraâs secret love of girly things, I can see how this soft, pink, girly sheep would be something sheâd love to be around.Â
Junko Enoshima (...?)/Hello Kitty - Hello Kitty (a.k.a. Kitty White) is described by Sanrio as âcute, bright, sweet, kind-hearted and tomboyish.â They also say that Kitty is very close with her sister, Mimmy. As for Junko... look, the only reason I think maybe this is supposed to be Junko is because Mukuro already has her own Sanrio matchup (see the next entry), but in terms of her appearance, this âJunkoâ sure looks like itâs âJunkuro.â The telltale sign is that giant bow on the left side of the head, which only Mukuro-as-Junko has ever worn. I doubt weâre supposed to be thinking that they did two Mukuros in two different outfits, though?Â
Itâs like this: If itâs Junko, well, I guess both Junko and Kitty are icons within their respective brands. And Junko tries to put on a âcute and brightâ exterior persona, I guess? But thatâs pretty thin. On the other hand, if this is Mukuro in disguise, this is actually a semi-decent matchup! Mukuro is arguably tomboyish and certainly very close to her sister (at least from her own perspective), so these two are not without their parallels.Â
In either case, both Kitty and the Unknown Despair Sister have a big bow on the left side of their head. Which I think is the real reason theyâve been paired, honestly.
Mukuro Ikusaba/Little Twin Stars - Kiki and Lala are a pair of twins that were born on December 24th. Mukuro is one half of a pair of twins ALSO born on December 24th. Instant connection! Kiki (the blue-haired boy) loves fishing and inventing things. He is curious and cheeky. Lala (the pink-haired girl) loves drawing, writing poems, and cooking. She is rather timid. In short, the âtwins with the same birthdateâ thing is the only thing connecting Mukuro to these two. Still, itâs not bad.
Also, the most amazing thing to come out of this team-up so far HAS TO BE MonoKitty. Hello Kitty cosplaying as our favorite psychotic MurderBear? How great is that? SELL ME MERCH OF MONOKITTY.

Chapter 3
"Time!" Mr. Harris looked up from his watch. "If you catalyzed the reaction correctly, you should now be looking at a crystal."
I looked down at my beaker and saw a horrible concoction of half crystal and half goo. Thanks to Stiles, my last partner of this weird-ass rotation the chemistry teacher had us partake in. Yet even though I didn't get with Stiles that well I was relieved that he was my partner. Isaac had been completely insufferable these last few days and I couldn't handle that.
"Now this part of the experiment I'm sure you'll all enjoy. You can eat it." I was bummed that I couldn't eat mine and I guess Lydia noticed.
"Hey, (Y/N), we can share mine. Don't frown." I smiled at her and she returned it.
After Lydia gave me half her rock crystal, Scott just stood up and screamed our names to stop, and everyone else just stared at us. We both turned and gave the boy a weird stare before diverging our attention back to the candy. After clinking our candies against the other, we savored the sweet treat.
Allison's POV
"Derek is outside waiting for (Y/N) and Lydia," Scott said.
"Waiting to kill them?"
"If he thinks one of them is the Kanima, then yes. Especially after what happened at the pool."
"It's not Lydia."
"Stiles, she didn't pass the test, man. Nothing happened."
"No, it can't be her."
"Well, it's not (Y/N) either."
"Well, it could be her."
"What is that supposed to mean?!" What the hell was his problem?
"Well, we have no idea who she is, and she hasn't really proven to be a good person. And the attacks did start after she first arrived at Beacon Hills."
"You don't know her, I do. Believe me, it's not her. I've known her my whole life. I think I would have noticed her turning into a killing lizard and I don't think I would be here to tell you. So, we can cross her out." We both sighed. "But it doesn't matter because Derek thinks it's one of them. So, either we can convince him that he's wrong or we've got to figure out a way to protect them."
"Well, I don't think he's gonna do anything here. Not at school." Scott stepped in.
"What about after school?" I asked and he sighed. "What if we can prove that Derek's wrong?"
"By three o'clock?"
"There can be something in the bestiary."
"Oh, you mean the 900-page book written in Archaic Latin that none of us can read? Good luck with that." Seriously Stiles, not helping. At least I was trying.
"Actually, I think there might be someone who can translate," I said thinking about our guidance counselor.
"Uh, I can talk to Derek maybe convince him to give us a chance to prove it's not either of them or... But if anything happens you guys let me handle it, okay?"
"What does that mean?"
"You can't heal like I do." I stared at him. I wasn't a defenseless baby. "I just don't want you getting hurt."
"I can protect myself." I took the crossbow out of my bag. He said nothing. "What? Did something else happen?"
"I just don't want you getting hurt. Seriously, if anything goes wrong you call me, okay?! I don't care if your dad finds out. Call or text, scream or yell; whatever, I'll find you as fast as I can." He stared straight into my eyes.
"We have until three."
He turned to leave until my crossbow went off. "Ooh." Scott quickly turned around and caught the arrow.
"Aah. Sorry." Stiles handed me the crossbow. "Sorry. Sensed a trigger on that."
Scott's POV
Currently, Stiles was on Lydia's and (Y/N)'s trail, and I was on the field with Boyd trying to find Derek.
"I wanna talk to Derek."
"Talk to me."
"I don't wanna fight."
"Good. Cause I'm twice the size of you" I looked up to find it true.
"True. Really, really true." He smirked. "But you wanna know what I think? I'm twice as fast." I smirked back and tackled him to the ground. Once we stood up, Derek appeared by our side.
"She failed the test." His face held his iconic scowl, and his arms were crossed.
"Yeah, but that doesn't prove anything. Lydia's different."
"I know. At night she turns into a homicidal walking snake."
"I'm not gonna let you kill her."
"Who said I was gonna do it?" I looked back to the school and realized Erica and Isaac were still back in the building. I tried to run towards it, but Boyd threw me down. "I don't know why you think you have to protect everyone now, Scott. But even so, Lydia has killed people and she's gonna do it again. And next time it's gonna be one of us."
"What if you're wrong? For all we know it could also be (Y/N). She didn't pass either, and how is it a coincidence that the attacks started after she arrived?" For a second I could have sworn there was a sign of desperation and worry in his face. But as quick as I blinked the look was gone.
"Lydia was bitten by an alpha. It's her."
"You saw that thing up close. You know it's not like us."
"But it is! We're all shapeshifters. You don't know what you're dealing with. It happens rarely and it happens for a reason."
"What reason?"
"Sometimes the shape you take reflects the person that you are." He gave me his hand and helped me up. "Even Stiles calls her cold-blooded."
"Well, what if she's immune? What if she has something else inside of her that makes her immune to the bite which is why she didn't get paralyzed."
"No one's immune. We've never seen it or heard of it. It's n... It's never happened." He argued.
"What about Jackson?" He looked away. "That's why you tested him, isn't it? Because you gave him what he wanted, didn't you?"
"Scott..."
"You said the bite either kills you or turns you. You were probably hoping that he would die. But nothing happened, right? You have no idea why do you?"
"No." Derek's jaw clenched and I knew I struck a never, so I pressured on buying more time.
"I have a theory. That she's immune and that somehow, she passed it on to Jackson. You know I'm right."
"No!
"You can NOT do this!"
"Look, I can't let her live! You should've known that."
"I was hoping I could convince you but then, I wasn't counting on it." He looked at me frazzled as to what I meant, I just smirked.
(Y/N)'s POV
Being stuck with Stiles and Lydia in the library is torture, an experiment I did not want to know the result of. Actually, just Stiles. Ever since Chemistry he had been on our trail like a lost puppy. Lydia and I had a project to work with, and he was just in the way. He was acting so weird and fidgety, more than usual.
"Hey, Allison. What are you doing here?" Lydia said looking behind her.
"Oh nothing, just wondering if you wanted to get together for a study group."
"Sure, that would actually maybe let the tension leave this group," I said and as we were leaving, Jackson joined.
"Study group? I'm coming with."
"Great." We left through the back door of the library, lord knows why, and we were walking at top speed.
"If we're doing a study group why don't we just stay in the library?" Lydia said. I was asking myself the same thing but since everyone else had stood up, I just followed.
"Because we're meeting up with somebody else."
"Why don't they just meet us at the library?" I asked.
"Oh, that would have been a great idea! Too late."
"Okay, hold on..." Lydia started saying but Jackson stopped her by grabbing her arm.
"Lydia, shut up and walk." Jerk.
We all got inside of Stile's jeep since he thought it would be faster that way because we were already late. It was an awkward ride to what I learned was Scott's house. No one said much except for the casual groan or scoff coming from Lydia.
"If we're meeting at Scott's house, where's Scott?" Lydia asked.
"Meeting us here. I think. I hope." Stiles said as he led us up to the front steps and into Scott's house.
Once inside he closed every single lock there was on the door. My reaction was involuntary as I stared at the slim boy in front of me as if he was another worldly creature.
"Uh, there's been a few break-ins in the neighborhood." He then put a chair on the doorknob and now Lydia joined in the stare. "And a murder. Yeah, it was bad."
"Lydia, follow me. I need to talk to you for a minute." Jackson spoke up.
"Seriously, what is going on with everyone?" Lydia said exasperated.
"Actually, I've been thinking the same thing. What the hell is going on?" I asked once Jackon and Lydia were out of sight.
"Nothing. Like we said it's just a study group." Stiles answered and I crossed my arms against my chest. Groveling for an answer seemed completely futile in this situation.
Allison's POV
"You know what, (Y/N). Why don't you go into the kitchen and help yourself to anything or go upstairs and lay down? I think Scott will take a while."
"O-kay?" She headed upstairs with an audible sigh and I motioned to Stiles to give me his phone to dial Scott.
"Hey, it's me. You need to get here. Quick." I looked outside and saw Derek and his pack waiting. I looked at the phone after Scott hung up and started dialing my dad's number.
"What are you doing?"
"I think... I think I have to call my dad."
"But if he finds you here, you and Scott..."
"I know." I stared at him. "What are we supposed to do? They're not here to scare us, okay, they're here to kill Lydia... Or, or even (Y/N)." We stood in silence and I debated on whether if it would be a good idea to call my father. If I did my relationship with Scott would be completely and truly over and if I didn't there could be a chance I would be down a friend or even a cousin.
"I've got an idea." I looked at a nervous Stiles. "Shoot one of them."
"Are you serious?"
"We told Scott we could protect ourselves. So, let's do it, at least give it a shot, right?" I debated for a moment.
"Okay." I don't think I sounded too confident.
"Look, they don't think we're gonna fight, so one of them gets hit, I guarantee they'll take off. So just shoot one of them." His reasoning made sense. I looked outside.
"Which one?"
"Um, Derek, preferably in the head."
"Stiles, if Scott can catch an arrow, Derek definitely can."
"Okay, ah, just shoot one of the other three."
"You mean two?"
"I mean three." Quickly he moved the curtains aside and looked outside to check on the pack. "Where's Isaac?" Without being able to think I was attacked and thrown to the ground and so was Stiles. I don't know how but Isaac found a way in.
(Y/N)'s POV
I was laying down on the bed of what I hoped was a guest room, scrolling through my phone when I heard a crash downstairs. I guess Lydia heard it too because when I looked outside the hallway, there she was. We moved slowly and carefully. After, I started to hear snarling and crashing.
"What's happening?" Lydia cried and I half hugged her as reassurance.
"Get back. Someone's trying to break in, okay? Go." Allison appeared from around the corner.
"I can help," I said.
"Stay." We didn't move. "Guys, go!" We both ran back to the room she was with Jackson and closed the door. Yet, Jackson was nowhere in sight.
"Jackson?!" Lydia screamed and we made our way to the bathroom locking the door.
"Who are you calling?" I asked Lydia as she took out her phone.
"Hi, I-I need the police. Th-there's someone trying to break in." She turned off the light and I heard the door outside slam.
"Stiles! It's here!" Allison screamed. What the hell was IT? Then the door crashed down. Lydia started squirming so I engulfed her in a hug and tried my best to calm her nerves.
"We're gonna be alright." But honestly, I was just as scared. Once silence was the only thing surrounding us, I checked the room. "Okay, I think it's gone. We'll go out slowly."
She nodded and followed me out of the bathroom and later out of the room. We made our way calmly down the hallway and the stairs. That's when I heard the worst screech ever and it was not human. We both ran outside to see what had made such an awful sound and were met by Derek, Isaac, Erica, Boyd, Scott, Stiles, and Allison. What the hell were they all doing here, and why were Erica and Isaac limp on the floor?
"Would someone please tell me what the hell is going on?"
"It's Jackson," Scott said. What could that possibly mean?
After everyone had calmed down, Stiles took us back to the school to look for our abandoned cars. As I made my way to my bike, Allison stopped me. Claiming that she was too worried about my safety. Not having the energy to fight, I obliged and got into her car alongside Lydia, who was still a bit shaken from the events.
"I need you to promise that you both won't say anything about what just happened." Allison staged the statement as a request but it was clearly a command.
"I promise not to say anything about what just happened if you could tell me what the HELL just happened," Lydia said, exasperated.
"I'm with Lydia on that one."
"It's kinda complicated." Allison sighed.
"How about you start with why Derek was there?" I spoke. "And Isaac and all of those kids from school?"
"Or where Jackson went or what is wrong with Erica?" She looked down. "Need to come up with a possible lie?"
"Part of the reason I am asking is because Scott and I aren't supposed to be seeing each other, okay?" Seriously? That's your excuse "So it's better if you just keep what you know to yourselves."
"Fine. I'll keep what I know about you and your boyfriend, which is nothing, to myself." Lydia started to get out, but Allison held her back.
"Hey, he's not just my boyfriend, you get that right?"
"Let me go." The strawberry blonde spat.
"Just for one second, please try and remember. "
"Remember what?!" Lydia turned.
"Remember what it feels like. All those times in school when you see him standing in the hall and you cannot breathe until you're with him or those times in class when you can't stop looking at the clock because you know that he is standing right out there, waiting for you. Don't you remember what that's like?"
"No."
"What do you mean no? You've had boyfriends."
"Not like that." She closed the door and left. Allison stared at her until she had reached the door to her house before starting the car back up.
"I know you're lying. This has nothing to do with your relationship with Scott. Maybe like five percent but when you look at the whole picture it's not. So, why don't you actually tell me the truth or I swear I will get out of this car."
"We're moving."
"Doesn't mean I won't jump out."
"What do you want me to say?!"
"The truth. Just tell me why the hell everyone has been acting so weird?"
"You're one to talk." She scoffed.
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"You! Ever since you've arrived you have pushed everyone away, even though all they have been is nice to you. You're alienating yourself for no reason."
"No reason?! How about the fact that I don't want to grow attached to anyone because I know that once the year ends, I'm gone? It has been like that for almost ten fucking years. Allison, you have only had to move about three times in your life, maybe four. I have been moving every single year since I was eight years old. Don't you think that it doesn't hurt to leave behind people you have grown to love and won't see again, possibly forever?"
"I didn't think..." she sighed.
"Exactly, you didn't think because you don't understand. The last time I grew close to someone, I had to say goodbye and you know what happened?" She shook her head no. "She was bullied into attempting suicide. I did that."
"Are you talking about Josie?" I nodded, roughly wiping away the tears that had spilled. "That wasn't your fault. It was tragic but there was nothing you could have done. You didn't do it."
"I did. She was alone because I left, and I couldn't protect her. She won't even answer my messages. Now, I don't associate myself with people so I don't have to care about what happens to them. That way it doesn't hurt once I leave."
"I'm so sorry, (Y/N), I didn't know you felt that way. But don't push me away. I will always be a constant in your life. I'm your cousin, I will always be with you." She hugged me and wiped away any other tears left. "I love you but get out."
"Dude, you just ruined the moment."
"No, I mean we're at your house and I have to get home. I love you." She smiled and I got out of the car. Before I could say anything else, she sped off. She knew there was a conversation still lingering and she was trying to avoid it. I just hoped I didn't have to explain myself to anyone else.
I entered the empty house, making sure all the doors were locked, and made my way up the stairs. Opening my bedroom door, Brody jumped off my bed and onto me, slathering my face with kisses.
"Hey, buddy. I missed you too," I laughed. Being near him instantly calmed me and helped me feel more at ease after the night I had.
I changed into my pajamas, too tired to shower, and cuddled with Brody on my bed. Talking about my past always made me tense. I tried my best to stray away from the topic and reveal as little as possible as I could, but it always found a way to be uncovered. As hard as I tried it was the dark cloud that would always follow me around. All I could do was avoid the whole thing as much as I could and hope they didn't bring it up again.
With Brody's warmth next to me, I quickly nodded off to sleep and melted the stress of the day.

I always have a trouble enjoying Mattâs story knowing who he will end up with tbh. What are your favorite and least favorite relationships from the books? Iâve always been a little iffy on nyneave and lan but have warmed up to it as time goes on.
Hi there!
In general I'm not a fan of the canon ships, lol, mostly because I feel that none of the people who are so much in love really know each other. I mean love at first sight is all nice and well but it seems to happen too often and especially the women tend to be completely bonkers about the men they fall for.
The only exception is Nynaeve and Lan. Yes this is a bit of 'love at first sight' but it has that little extra that they fall deeper the better they come to know each other and they actually understand each other far better than any of the other pairings. Nynaeve letting Lan ride to his destiny and then ensuring he won't ride alone is iconic and shows how well she understands him.
As for the other canon ships. Egwene and Gawyn don't know each other. I really dislike the Rand harem (it was not meant as a polycule by the author) - it's such a male fantasy! - I want to throttle Perrin and Faile for not talking to each other (although they are cute in The Dragon Reborn), we don't see Birgitte / Gaidal (which could be interesting). Siuan/ Gareth have the worst basis with him ordering her around and Moiraine / Thom makes me cringe because there is no way that Moiraine would offer to give up being Aes Sedai for anyone.
I like some of the background pairings : Gaul and Chiad, Amys and Rhuarc, Androl and Pevara (at least these fall in love after getting to know each other).
What I really like is many of the friendships we see - and some of them have a queer subtext that the author probably did not intend.
Well Siuraine is canon and I would have loved for it to stay canon because the other options are just so bad.
I love the Egwene / Aviendha friendship, I love Elayne / Mat gradually coming to respect each other. I adore Nynaeve / Elayne shenanigans and I have a very soft spot for whatever it is that Elayne and Aviendha as well as Mat and Rand have going on.
It's my headcanon that Elayne and Aviendha are more in love with each other than with Rand and even if you read Mat / Rand as platonic: they really know each other and have each other's backs.
These friendships are often deeper and more meaningful to the characters than the romantic relationship. Just think about how much Elayne cares what Avi thinks of her (and later Mat).
I've come to the conclusion that RJ had just no idea how to write romance. Because if these relationships are what he thinks a hetero relationship should be he had some very peculiar notions - including the idea that women and men don't talk to each other and don't understand each other and that is just sad.
Thanks!

That is actually the best pairing DC can make out of Trinity aside Lois and Clark. Or Bruce
and Clark for that matter. They both fit Bruce well, though Diana is even more matched with
him. In fact she's the best match romantically for him out there. At least so far. Though
number of fanfiction and arts on the net would suggest that that spot is reserved for
Superman not Wonder Woman :D
Except maybe for Silver and Julie - all Batman's love interest are abusive and downright
toxic. Selina, Talia, Adrea, Jet. Because in terms of comics and not relationships it fits
Gotham mold. People just tend to forget it after rebirth run. Yeah the one that made Batman
impotent and unable to do anything without the Cat around. Exactly that one. And tend to
forget how terrible as human beings his lovers really are.
Going back to the point. Both Talia and Selina tried to kill him multiple times in the past, or
those close to him. Whatever right? Who wouldn't like a lover that tried to end you few times
over. Both assaulted him physically and emotionally. Repeatedly. Both scared his body and
his mind. Repeatedly. Both tried to seduce his wards (adopted sons if u like), just to get to
him. In Talia's case that was basically pedophilia. That's just sick and makes you want to
puke. Both are possessive bitches, Cat threatening his flings while they are in bed while
Talia, well Talia can even go as far as beheading (to her credit she was right with this one).
Both makes him a goddamn hypocrite. Both face no repercussions after a cold blooded
murder while at the same time he berates Diana like a dick when she came to look for his
friendship and support after Max incident. Difference is she had no choice while Selina or
Talia most certainly had. Great move Bats, hypocrite much? And most importantly they both
lie and betray him, and leave him. Over and over again. Again, that's a constant with Cat
and miss Al Ghul. Diana never showed any of those traits with any of her lovers.
Get any counselor or psychiatrist to read actual Bat love history throughout the decades
and they would be writing books on how disfuncional they are. For a love-hate dynamics
they work fine. Or for some adrenaline fueled sex, but that's it. Hell, he even banged Dinah
when they were on adrenaline high. It all has a clinical term. Trauma bonding. As opposed
to authentic bonding. Which he could have with WW, had even one of them tried.
They did not though. Out of fear of ruining their mutual respect and deep bond. In
pre-flashpoint it may have been a thing if Diana acted on it. Again, Diana, not Bruce, so cut
the crap on how he was deflecting her. He was in doubt, yeah, but clearly was ready to give
it a go. She was the one that got scared even though she was clearly had over bat hills in
love with him. Even Martian stated this to Supes. Pre Crisis ? Not really. Some flirting and
kissing, nothing more. Post-flashpoint, New 52 and Rebirth ? Also not, though DC like to
tease those two. Forever Evil gets a hint that Bruce feels more than friendship towards her,
much to Selina's dismay. And that goddamn tension when they got to spends decades
together in another realm. Mostly from Diana side again. But no. The real canon love that Diana had for Bruce was during pre-flashpoint, not counting alternative universes. And it
was so strong that it showed her loving him more than her mother and sisters. And her
lasso forced her to admit it when facing Mera. But Bruce was "dead" at that point. So yeah,
never acted upon this. Pity. You could see she regretted it.
Aside their comics history in canon universe, realistically speaking Diana is way more
similar to Bruce than Selina will ever be (or Talia for that matter). Even though at a the first
glance they are nothing alike. She's the light , he's the darkness. She believes in love and
trust, tries to see the good in everyone. He's cunning, distrustful and downright realistic to
her idealistic approach. She's honest and straight while he will not hesitate to lie or to use
violence to get results. And you know what? It makes for great couple chemistry and
tension. It may be a cliche, yeah, but Yin and Yang dynamics work. That's why Clark ends
up with Lois all the freaking time. Even on elseworlds he and Diana are a thing only after
Lois is out of the picture. But that's not the most important thing. Yin and Yang provides for
a tension yes, but it would never last in the long run. For a relationship you need also
something in common. And Bruce has that in spades with Diana.
They might be on opposite side of the spectrum but than you realize how much alike they
really are. They are both kindred spirits. Both born fighters, warriors at heart. Arguably two
of the best in the world. At least Diana is according to Batman. And judging by Wonder
Woman's choices in man that is a highly important trait to her. Both endlessly fighting for
others. Both have utmost respect and admiration for each other. Both tirelessly train to
make themselves physically and spiritually better. Constantly. And to make the other better.
Their sparring sessions are legendary. And heated. Both with a great heart and
compassion. I would argue that Bruce's compassion is even bigger than Diana's. Even
though their methods might differ they share the same goal, which he has with no other
woman. Both have the heart of a warrior and are pushed by the circumstances of their
upbringing to reach for impossible dreams. They are also two of the most stubborn and
obstinate people in DC universe. Both perfectly capable of operating solo, and yet both
performing the best in a team. And yes, Bats is a great team player. Both natural leaders
that other heroes follow without hesitation. Both selfless and able to sacrifice for those they
value, trust and love. None of the other Bat trollups have any of those traits. Not to mention
they emotionally and physically find the other highly attractive. One being a literal goddess
and the other perfect male specimen. As for Batman, his relationships tend to collapse due
to a lack of trust. He's either unwilling to bring his romantic partner fully into his world or he
can't bring himself to trust completely. While Selina got his trust now, it's recent
development. And a mistake judging by latest issues. Again. One would think he's smarter.
When it comes to Diana, he trusts her. Fully. She's not privy like BatClan is to his world, but
they aren't that close in mainstream DC. She's not a psycho with daddy issues or a violent
narcissist. List can go on. Selina on the other hand doesn't have that much in common with
Bruce than she has. Not even close. He loves her, yes. But I don't see Di leaving him
countless times over the choices he makes. Or lying, or betraying, or trying to sleep with
Dick to spite him or... you get the point. Though there is one thing that gives Kyle an edge.
Immortality. Diana won't die unless killed. It doesn't make for a great long term relationship
prospect. But then again, those are comics, and he's a goddamn Batman. He would find a
way :)
The thing is - there is no other woman that fits his world as much as Diana does. And Bat is
capable to loving deeply and going to great commitments with a special woman. He showed
it with Andrea, he showed it with Silver. Problem is he always got burned. Every time he let
his guard down and opened himself. And he would have to do it when it comes to Wonder
Woman. She deserves that. It's hard to imagine with current Bruce, but it is most definitely
possible. It would be harder than with an ex criminal or an assassin though. Because there
would be much more on the line. The other two would crawl back anyway if he messed it
up, Di wouldn't.
There is also another aspect to this outside comic universe. His partners tend to be minor
characters compared to WW. She has her own series, JL, JL dark and every major
crossover/event happening in DC. They don't. And so does Batman. Both are one of the
most popular DC characters.
Besides changes to Bruce writing that are needed to make this work (cough.. pre flashpoint
Bats... cough), it would require fitting it to their distinctive titles. And frankly Diana can easily
function without any love interest and generate money. It's even easier that way. It fits her
as an independent, strong female character. Arguably most iconic of them all. And It's most
certainly easier for DC with a tease here and there than an actual WonderBat in mainstream.
Maisterluu wrote this is a comment on a YouTube video which is dow in the comments. They make really good points for ww and bats. No hate to other DC ships with ww and bats.

hi mar'i! is it okay if i ask you if you can rate every dickkory adaptations/incarnations throughout the years (NTT, Teen Titans Cartoon show, Teen Titans Go, DCAMU, Convergence, New Order, Kingdom Come, Injustice 2, Live Action) personally live action is my least favorite of all of them, and it has nothing to do with Anna or Brenton, it's the titans writers. They don't care about their relationship at all and i hate that they portrayed them as nothing but friends with benefits,it bothers me
Absolutely! Iâd be happy to! Iâll go from least favorite to favorite đ
#9 DCUTitans
Iâm in complete agreement with you. My least favorite version of them is the live-action show. It has absolutely nothing to do with the actors bc I love them both, but the writing is just not there. My favorite thing about DickKory is how they communicate with each other. They talk about their problems and find solutions to them together. DCUTitans on the other hand has them barely speak to each other. I donât necessarily mind that they started the relationship with a physical connection considering the comics did something similar (with a kiss instead), but then they just did absolutely nothing with it. Then again this show, in general, does nothing with its characters...Maybe itâll get better, but I doubt it.
#8 Teen Titans Go
I get that this show is first and foremost a comedy, but Iâm not really into the unrequited love thing. I find it hilarious since because of the batoffice, Kory is usually left pining over Dick in the comics but here itâs the other way around, but that doesnât make it rank any higher on the list. Itâs cute, mindless fun, but itâs not really DickKory
#7 Injustice 2Â
Look, Iâll admit it, Iâm an angst girl. I absolutely adore it when entertainment breaks me down to tears and sobs, but other than some voicelines and sad endings, DickKory barely exists here. Dick is dead the whole time and honestly this universe just saddens me for Kory. Iâm only ranking it this high because whatever crumbs are there are accurate crumbs.
#6 Nightwing: The New Order
We are getting to the part of the list where I actually donât have many complaints anymore. I enjoyed Nightwing New Order. Jake Grayson is a little underdeveloped, but itâs the only elseworld (other than Convergence) where DickKory actually end up together and happy in the end. I know liking this little book is a controversial opinion apparently, but I thought Dick had a great arc, and Kory was herself through and through. I guess my one complaint would be that I think Kory would have taken Jake with her, rather than leave without him, but itâs a dystopian elseworld so I donât think it matters that much.
#5 Kingdom Come
I swear if Kory was alive in this universe this one could very well be my favorite. Kingdom Come is what DC should have become instead of all the N52 and Rebirth nonsense. Having characters progress and actually go through life-changing moments is important to and satisfying for readers. Marâi Grayson is an incredible character who deserves to be in the main canon. She should be co-leading a Teen Titans team right now with Damian, Jon, Lian, and the other members of that generation of superheroes. Not to mention, that Kingdom Come also has my all-time favorite suit design for Koriandâr herself. If only Kory was still alive in this universe... đ˘
#4 Teen Titans (2003)
As the first ship I ever had, Teen Titansâ RobStar will always have a special place in my heart. I love TTA! Itâs a wonderful version of DickKory and of the Teen Titans, that captures the heart of the original comics while changing it just enough for a different, younger audience. This show even gave us some of the most iconic DickKory comic scenes.
#3 DCAMU
In this house, Apokolips War doesnât exist. Instead, DickKory got married, had Marâi and Jake, and lived a long, happy life of fighting crime, saving the world, and being domestic while doing it. Not only is this the best DickKory adaptation outside of comics, itâs also the best Kory adaptation outside of comics.Â
#2 Convergence: New Teen Titans
It doesnât get better than Convergence: New Teen Titans. Frankly, Iâm tempted to rank it in first place. A universe where they actually get married, no strings attached? No major character death? The perfect Titans team (except for the exclusion of Raven)? Yeah this is the universe I want to read more of.
#1 New Teen Titans (1980)
And of course, Iâm sure no one saw it coming, but my all-time favorite version of Dick Grayson and Koriandâr is and always will be the classic: New Teen Titans (1980). Itâs perfect in almost every way. They communicate, they learn from each other, they grow to become better people. Had the wedding gone through like it was originally planned? I would not change a single thing about them. Sometimes, you just canât recreate perfection.
#dickkory#new teen titans (1980)#convergence: new teen titans#dcamu#tta#teen titans#teen titans go#ttgo#robstar#starfire#koriand'r#dick grayson#nightwing#robin#injustice 2#nightwing: the new order#the kingdom: nightstar#kingdom come#nightstar#mar'i grayson#jake grayson#ask#my stuff#Anonymous

â Spoilers for Mask of Shadows â
Heyo @linseymiller , first of all if ur reading this I'd like to say hi and also THANK YOU so very much for writing the first published book I've actually gotten into in--gods, a year at least, probably two or more. I got spoiled by Ao3 and its quick free fic and easily guaranteed queer rep--incidentally, being spoiled by its ability to let me tell authors directly how much I loved their writing led to me writing this post, so. Fic comment style author ish void shouting commence!
I used to be that book a day kid, y'know, back bf fanfic, and I am happy to announce that Sal and their exploits took me back to it. (First in a day book I've done for fun in idk probably years! Thank you for letting me visit my childhood again!) I picked it up by chance, got hooked in by the word "they" on the back cover, and then just. Got sucked in. It was a Delight
I love all of the characters, it was honestly a well developed cast. Sal in particular, unsurprisingly--I myself have a wobbly gender so I latched onto them pretty quickly. I love their morally grey-ish-ness, it never really felt forced or "edgy", and tbh if I were in their place undoubtedly I would also be strongly inclined towards murder. It's--I love the way you balanced their lack of shame for it with this acknowledgement of loss? They were neither so remorseless that they no longer saw any that they killed as people nor quailed at the thought of taking a life--the way they took death as just another facet of existing, which isn't particularly bad except for the pain and blood spilt, was this beautiful balance that I really appreciate. Also their competence! Was Amazing! They balanced these /super/ impressive skills w things that they still def struggled w. I loved their relationships w the other characters as well, and the contrast bw those they allied w w out particular affection or trust to the ones like Maud and the Hand where they just gradually became closer thru bickering. (Love Maud, she's def in my top three faves.) and Sal's romance w Elise was also really sweet! even tho romance isn't particularly my thing--which brings me to my next point!
Aromantic Emerald aromantic Emerald aromantic Emerald I was so freaking Pumped holy shit any time Ă character is aromantic I simply burst out in Feelings I'm already Attached in a matter of like two sentences gods I hope nothing happens to her
Also! im still mad at u abt Ruby how Dare I just decided he was one of my faves very cruel of you /lh (mostly) Liked the back story tho! That was Neat
I did not keep much track of the numbers (Sal not building close relationships w most of them was appreciated I would've failed) but I did enjoy Five as their foil-ish. Both on a quest for revenge after trauma brought on at a similar age by similar circumstances, etc. I must say I did appreciate the "just bc a character has a Tragic Padt doesn't automatically make them a good person" thing. That needs to be said more often. Sure baby Five didn't necessarily deserve to have that happen, sure he had a narrative parallel thing, but that doesn't change the fact he was a Dick to the nth degree. Torture, murder, classism, and to top it all off transphobia? Fucking hell fuck off man.
(Also, the lack of major institutionalized homophobia/transphobia? A breath of fresh air goodness not enough ppl in fantasy take advantage of that goddammit you can make this world whatever u want why the /fuck/ would you put that shit in all of them sure those stories need to be told but gods can I not read abt ppl like me in a book w out it being depressing? C'mon. Anyway appreciate u <3)
Anyway, prolly gonna go read the second one now (and potentially figure out a way to put this comment into goodreads acceptable format lol), I'm very pumped to see Sal go on their revenge quest, worried for Elise, looking forward to Maud being an icon, and also super emotionally attached to Emerald despite knowing almost nothing abt her (we share an orientation that's Enough Im latched on, I'm jumping, she's mine now). May or may not comment more here later! Either way thank you again so much for the story, hopefully you know this already but ur awesome, Very appreciate!

âClariceâ Liveblog: Episode 7
disclaimer: thereâs going to be discussion of a lot of little details I disliked in this one, but as a whole, I liked it a lot better!
honestly? Clariceâs coworkers have every reason to question if sheâs âokayâ given what weâve seen so far on this show.
and yeah, coming back from leave a week after being repeatedly tortured does âseem soonâ.
AG Martin is using Clarice just as badly as Crawford ever did.
why does Krendler look so sharp? tailored waistcoat, crisp shirt...his costumes would look more in-character for Hannibal than Paul Krendler. I donât get it.
not sure I like the âmy people mined coal, so we know when weâre okay to workâ flex, but...whatever.
she makes some truly uninspired costume and hair choices look great
âwho am I, James Bond?â are you an FBI agent or arenât you, Krendler?
BIG Jack Crawford and his Pepto Bismol vibes, but dammit, Krendler should NOT be like Crawford!
now Ardeliaâs back to collaborating with Clarice on a case like itâs no big deal??? way to make her look like a hypocrite. again.
idk, I still think Ardelia could have an FBI subplot AND be part of Clariceâs life without constantly working with Clarice within an FBI context (their careers donât really intersect in the books). those things arenât mutually exclusive.
âhe died instantlyâ um, is Clarice a medical examiner now? I know sheâs got a forensics background, but sheâs just now seeing the body.
âCody didnât feel any painâ how does Clarice know that and why is confident enough to say it to the kidâs mother?!
also, are victimâs family members usually allowed right into the crime scene like that? paging @special-agent-pendragonâ!
âletâs talk when we canâ Clarice, honey...you literally live with Ardelia, lmao.
the crooked lawyerâs office reminds me a LOT of Chiltonâs office in Silence.
Paul Krendler: Good Guy and Faithful Husband...donât know him!
and again...this is a waste of time on Clariceâs show.
sheâs so dang cute!
hey, a reference to Ardeliaâs grandma!
Clarice and Ardelia working on a case together at home, off the clock, is way more on brand!
also Clarice eating junk food...thatâs my girl :)
I too sometimes eat Lucky Charms out of the box, haha.
omg, Ardeliaâs actual grandma!!!
and: a reference to her frying pan, the one Clarice looks into after reading Hannibalâs letter!
Clarice is finally laughing and drinking and having a good time with her best friend...Iâm so happy about it.
literally exactly what I wanted/this show NEEDED
âat least my fatherâs still aliveâ oh...my god...they really made Ardelia Mapp say that to Clarice... I...donât know what to say except that I hate it. the scene was so great otherwise, too.
to be clear, imo this is not an appropriate thing to say to your best friend, ever.
Clarice might be drunk, but her nonchalant reaction (giggling!) is all wrong too, particularly for this Clarice, whoâs always been shown as deeply traumatized/haunted.
maybe Iâm 100% off-base on this, but I feel like Ardeliaâs backstory in this show is at odds with her career choice: why does she go into law enforcement at all? does she truly believe she can make a substantial difference? hope this is addressed at some point.
âI canât believe you never told me that beforeâ I know this is expository, but I canât believe it, either, Clarice.
thereâs no indication in the books that Mrs. Starling was âalways angryâ or that Clarice was intimidated by/scared of her outbursts. she saw her mother as a pillar of strength! I donât like this change tbh.
âhe was the law. he was importantâ mmm...Clariceâs father was not important, and thatâs the core of the tragedy, of her anger. itâs why Hannibal calls him the ânight watchmanâ and the reason the Starlings didnât receive any money or support after his death. he was expendable.
to be fair, I guess maybe this is supposed to be what Clariceâs idea of him was as a child.
this scene is full of little things I donât like, and Clariceâs father giving her the add-a-bead necklace is definitely one of them.
in the book, Hannibal guesses that Clarice is afraid her beads now look tacky (having been previously trendy in the early-to-mid-80s...so, well after her fatherâs death). thereâs NO indication they had any sentimental value (in fact, theyâre never mentioned again iirc)--and with four kids to support, how can he afford to give his eight- or ten-year-old daughter decent jewelry, anyway???
I like the IDEA and the FEELING of that scene. just not the dialogue. and the entire thing is slightly undercut (imo) by Ardeliaâs earlier mean-spirited comment. idk. it was cute, but this showâs writing is its own worst enemy.
Ardelia called her âStarlingâ! :)
Clariceâs costume is yet again blah, while Ardeliaâs is great...anything but 199x, though.
money shot!
whew...didnât see THAT plot twist coming.
Good Guy Paul Krendler continues to be a thing for some reason.
does the Hoover building only have one hallway?
Krendler gaslighting Clarice because someone is blackmailing him doesnât hit the same as Krendler undercutting her career because heâs a sexist jackass who wants to fuck her. sorry.
Good:Â Clarice laughing/smiling/joking/having fun with her friend! A (could-have-been-better) bonding scene with Ardelia. Clarice getting to work a field case and the iconic shots that come with that territory. Ardeliaâs grandma! Not a single mention of the Bill case, thank God.
Bad: Some of Clariceâs snap forensic judgments...they just felt too fast and unconvincing to me. Everyoneâs costumes and hair continue to underwhelm me. (Why has Paul Krendler stolen Hannibalâs wardrobe? Why canât Clarice wear something even remotely exciting?) Ardeliaâs awful âat least my fatherâs still aliveâ comment. The muddled implications about Clariceâs mother (especially in an episode about an abusive mother).
Ugly: Krendler subplot, as usual.
Overall? Better. Much better. Absolutely a case of âthe whole is greater than the sum of its partsâ. Despite its subject matter, this episode was a lot more pleasant to watch than the previous two. Clarice had a limited amount of character development beyond âdoe-eyed and traumatized,â she actually got to laugh, enjoy life, eat junk food (!) and solve a case with a friend before it all went to hell.Â
I want more, though. The writing leaves a lot to be desired. There were a lot of small details of which I was critical, namely Ardeliaâs insensitivity towards her best friend (unfortunately, this seems to be part of a pattern) and several minor but jarring and pointless changes to the books (mostly having to do with the Starlings). Most of the ViCAP team is still pretty one-dimensional, Krendler continues to get way too much screentime, Ardelia is hit-or-miss.
And Rebecca Breeds has to milk every moment and every line for whatever nutritional value itâs worth re: Clariceâs character. Even after seven episodes, I donât feel as Rebeccaâs Clarice has been allowed to fully emerge as the iconic character we know from the books. But Iâll keep on hoping...after all, there are at least three episodes to go!
#clarice#cbs clarice#Clarice Starling#rebecca breeds#only a week late this time heh#*a week and a half now oop#sorry for the lateness and the nitpicking but how hard is it NOT to change the book???

What The Stark Spangled F**k? Drabble: Fancy A BJ?
Summary: Steve sees something on Emmyâs phone that he really doesnât like...
Warnings: Bad Language words. Some none-explicit mentions of sexual activity, and Steve being a huge big dumbass.
Chapter Pairings: Â Steve Rogers x OFC Katie Stark
WIYPT A/N: @sweater-dadiesddumbdork once again working her magic and guest writing for my babies. After all, this one was all her idea so she deserved to write it herself in her own wonderful way!!
Sweaters A/N- Listen, I'm really just borrowing her characters for a time cause I have these thoughts and @what-is-your-backupplan-todayâ finds them as funny as I do.Â
Steve Rogerâs Masterlist
âSteve, can you go get me a bottle of water from the fridge?â Katie asked while brushing her hair, looking at him in the mirror of the vanity unit âI forgot to grab one on my way up.â
Steve had been lounging on the bed, looking through the late night TV choices, when he tossed the remote aside, turning it off. âSure Baby, anything else?â He moved to a stand, and she shook her head with a no.
On his way down the hallway, he checked in on the kids, each one sound asleep at the late hour. Jamie's room he snapped his fingers once, Stark immediately hopping down to his dog bed. In Roriâs room their daughter had starfished herself in the middle of the bed, covers tangled around her legs. Â Steve shifted her to her proper place and covered her back up, kissing her forehead before he headed over to check on Harry who was just as he should be, curled up under his duvet, soft little sighs escaping the boy. Emmy was the only one not in her room, but going down the stairs, he heard her in the den, watching a movie.
Going into the kitchen, he snapped open the fridge to retrieve the water when Emmy bounced in the kitchen with a cheery âHey Dad, youâre up late.â Sliding her phone onto the counter, she disappeared into the pantry. âDid Mom get any popcorn last time she was out you think?â
Steve turned, leaning against the counter while listening to Em. âTop shelf, in the back. She hasn't moved it in all the years we've lived here.â He chuckled softly and went to unscrew the cap on the water, to take a sip when his eyes happened to fall to Emmyâs phone, and of course it was still lit up where she had been using it. The iconic dreaded boyfriend's name in the top.
Petey
He knew he shouldnât, but he couldnât help it and his eyes scanned the last message, And holy fucking Jesus, he really wished he hadnât as the words left Steveâs ears ringing and caused him to half snort the water in his mouth down his throat, half splutter the rest all over the kitchen counter, his eyes watering.
âWant that BJ tonight or tomorrow Pete? I can swing by after this movie if you have a craving for it.â
Steveâs mind literally SCREAMED at him as he turned away, trying to catch his breath. Emmyâs head poked out the pantry with a look of concern. âGod, Pops, are you okay?! What's wrong?â Â
He waved at her that it was nothing, grabbing a hand towel to wipe at the counter and luckily the phone was dark, not showing the offending message between his daughter and that FUCKING BOY. âIâm okay, just down the wrong pipe.â Â His cheeks were a high red, as well as his ears. Emmy disappeared and a split second later came out with the bag of popcorn before she grabbed her phone off the counter and flicked it on.
Steve tried not to do it, but his eyes lifted to see her expression. Of course, she looked thrilled with whatever Spider Boy written to her, Steve thought darkly, and she tucked her phone away in her back pocket. âAfter the movie, I'm swinging over to Pete's for a bit. Gotta drop something off. I won't be too late.â
âErr, couldn't it just wait till morning Em? It's late enough already.â Steve tried, his damned hardest.
âDad, I'm 22? And Iâm only gonna be out a little while, I promised him I would.â Leaning up to kiss his cheek, she grabbed her popcorn, remarking as she left the room, tossing a few kernels into her mouth. âDonât worry Dad, it's not a big deal.â
Not a big deal? NOT A BIG DEAL?! Steve sighed, knowing there really wasn't much he could do, or could stop from happening. âNight Em, Your mother and I love you.â Maybe that reminder would be stuck in her brain. Fuck, now I know what Nat meant when she claimed she was going to have to bleach her eyeballs when she caught us on the couch.
âLove you too!â Â Â
With a heaviness he didn't know he could possibly carry, Steve made his way back upstairs and into the bedroom, where Katie was now all under cover, having been reading a book in her lap.
âWell there you are Soldier, was wondering what happened to you.â She closed her book and looked at him, frowning immediately at the expression on his face. âWhatâs wrong? Are the kids okay?â
âKids are fine Sweetheart, are all sound asleep except Emmy. She's downstairs finishing a movie and about to head to...His houseâ He handed her the water bottle and went about undressing.
âBy His Iâm assuming you mean PeteâsâŚâ Katie looked at him, arching an eyebrow. He wasnât normally that venomous about Parker.
âYup.â
âOkay, so? Why has that got you so upset?â Â Katie was still was at a loss, and Steve tugged off his shirt, moving to sit on the edge of the bed. Frowning at his silence, she slipped out from under the covers and moved to drape herself over his back, arms loosely around his neck, her small bump gently pressing into the curve of his own spine as she nuzzled behind his ear with the tip of her nose. âCome on Stevie, tell me.â
âI really don't want to Katie.â He said with a strain to his voice and Katieâs palms flattened against his bare chest, putting little nibbles on his neck, making sure to press her thinly covered breasts against his back. âWell then I know what will make you feel better.â Â
âNot tonight Doll.â
This made her frown and really pull back and Steve felt her tense up and he cursed himself inwardly.
âNot tonight?â she breathed out before he felt her scoff. âSteve, what the fuck? You were making eyes at me across the dinner table tonight and couldn't stop running your hands on me before when we were watching TV but now youâre not in the mood?â She slipped around to sit on his other side, still slightly irritated but she could tell something was bugging him so she tried to keep her voice level when she spoke again and not snap. âWhat got your shield in a knot, Soldier?â
Steve rubbed at his face, groaning behind his hand. âI justâŚsaw something and it just... weirded me out, okay?â
Katie put up her hand with a continue motion for him, her eyes wide. âOut with it!â
âSo, I was getting the water and Emmy came in to make some popcorn. Her phone was on and I happened to look down at it.â
Katie waits for a few moments, but when he didnât continue, she nudged him a bit. âSo? What did you see that was so bad? This is Emmy youâre talking about.â
Steve turned his head to look at her. âIt was a message to Queen, asking if he wanted a Blowjob.â
Katie gasped a bit and scrunched her nose. âWhat, are you sure?â âTrust me, Iâm sure.â Katie fell silent before she took a deep breath. She knew Steve was grappling over the fact Emmy was an adult now, and had been for a number of years, but he preferred to remain blissfully ignorant about most of the stuff they got up to whereas she was a lot more pragmatic and understanding which showed in the fact Emmy talked to her, came to her for advice. Clearing her throat Katie glanced at Steve whose face was still wrinkled in disgust and began to speak, trying to choose her words carefully. âSteve, she is an adult now and well... we had all the talks with her. It's natural for young adults to explore things, you know?â
Steve groaned again, dropping his face in his hands. âBaby please, for the love of God stop.â
âOkay.â she rubbed his back, but wasn't entirely ready to leave it there. âWhat exactly did it say though? Maybe you misread it.â
Behind his hands covering his face he muttered. âWant that BJ tonight or tomorrow Pete, I can swing by after this movie if you have a craving for it.â His hands pushed through his hair. âOr something along those lines.â
Next to him Katie snorted, covering her mouth suddenly, and Steve looked at her with a frown. âWhatâs so funny?â
She burst out even harder, looking away from him for a moment, her shoulders shaking as she composed herself. âOh fuck Steve.... Youâre really a dumbass sometimes.â
Steve frowned at her as she continued.
âBaby, BJ is for Ben and Jerryâs. The gang is going over to Peteâs apartment tomorrow for a Sundae Bar while they stream Star Wars all night. She is going to drop him off the ice cream. I bought them a fuck load of it when I went to the store yesterday!â
Steveâs face smoothed out, thinking about what Katie had said. Of fucking course, Emmy had told him about it this morning over the breakfast table while he was busy cutting up some pancakes for Harry. âOh shit... okay, yeah, that makes sense.â Giving a bit of a relieved laugh, he fell back against the bed, sighing as Katie smirked, looming over him. âFeel better Soldier?â
Steve nodded and let his hand cup the side of her face. âYou have no idea how much better I feel.â Pushing up, he pulled Katie into his lap, his hands either side of her bump as he kissed on her neck, making her laugh. Once he let her go, she moved back around the bed, and then her face scrunched up a bit. âOh God Steve, now it's stuck in my head. That's our daughter.â
Steve snorted while he moved to a stand and pulled the blankets down. âI know, why do you think I was so messed up earlier?!â
âFuck, I need to scrub my brain with bleach.â Katie shuddered as she tumbled back into bed, and Steve stretched out next to her.
âI suddenly understand what Natasha was raving about that day she caught us. I might not ever get over this.â
âWell thank you for ruining me too.â Katie punched at her pillow, glaring at him, and he broke out in a grin, rolling to his side and tugging her closer.
âAdmit it, you love me, don't you? Even if I am a dumbass sometimes.â

Some time ago (and by âsome timeâ I mean a long ass time, oops) Kate (@pumpkinpaperweight) posted an analysis of gold rush by Taylor Swift tracing parallels to Agatha, which this post is clearly inspired by.Â
(Go check that one out after you finish reading this post, itâs really good.)
Ever since, Iâve had an entire tagatha x taylor playlist/unfinished post that I donât think will ever see the light because Iâm too lazy to actually finish it. But now I have some spare time and I noticed that,,,, invisible string wasnât on it.
And that's cause, well, despite the obvious gold fingerglow motif which is very tagatha ⌠you already read the title of the post. Itâs more like my own version of of what I would have had happen post-otk (will my epilogue version ever see the light, I wonder) than anything else, but this is my account, in which I am correct all the time and accept no criticism so,,,,
Green was the color of the grass where I used to read at Centennial Park
I used to think I would meet somebody there
Basically, these first two lines are about how Sophieâs egocentrism isolated her and kept her from making genuine connections with people from very early on, until she becomes friends with Agatha and even after that.
Okay, so have you guys ever seen those tiktoks that are like â13-year-old me, in black jeans and sneakers, at the beach, reading a book mYstERioUsLy so that when Harry Styles showed up heâd know Iâm dIfFeRenT'?
This is the energy I get here.Â
Like, Sophie in the start of book one doing all those âgood deedsâ so set herself apart in the eyes of the school master hoping that heâd bring her to the school where she would meet *drumroll* The One.Â
Most of us have, at some point (I hope, otherwise it was just me and that would be so embarassing), tried and failed to channel that main-character-energy to manifest ourselves into a story much more interesting than whatever is going on in your life at the moment. I feel like at the very core, thatâs sort of what Sophie was trying to do? Itâs a very juvenile feeling and shows just how little Sophie knew about love overall. Love as it is in fairytale books, as opposed to as it actually is.
She thought herself as above everyone else and thought she was entitled to true, unconditional love, which ended up holding her back and isolating her from everyone in the town, save for Agatha, give or take.Â
This mindset is what really keeps her from seeing Tedros (and Agatha, and everyone else) as people, rather than characters in her story, and actually connecting with them on a non-superficial level.Â
Teal was the color of your shirt when you were 16 at the yogurt shop
You used to work at to make a little money
I donât think this part needs much explaining?Â
On surface level, Nicola canonically started working at her fatherâs pub at a very young age to help with family expenses.
If you think about it a little more and contrast it with the previous line, though, it highlights the differences between Sophie and Nicola:
Nic works to help her family, learning responsibility and duty, while Sophie barely ever did anything for her father, both out of vanity (and a superiority complex) and out of spite (which is honestly undeserved all the way up to book 3, when Stefan let Callis die and fucking tried to blame Agatha for returning without Sophie and then guilt-tripped her into going to save her, after which he was dead to me lol). Sophie grew with a princess-like mindset, despite being just slightly better off than Nic, given all the villagers save from Callis and Agatha (due to them being outcasts) seem to have a similar income (with the exception of the beggar which I donât understand and am probably overthinking about, but honestly, itâs a impossible to leave town and people die on the mill all the time, there's no college or whatever, did none of these assholes offer the beggar a job- Iâm getting carried away), while Nicola has to shoulder most of the responsibilities due to her dad being sick.
Also, given the *misogyny* Iâd be surprised if Nic didnât have to do all the housework, as the only girl in her house. Â
I doubt that the uniform of the pub was teal and given the book timeline she wouldnât have been 16 in any instances in which Sophie and her met in Gavaldon, but I digress.
Time
Curious time
Gave me no compasses
Gave me no signs
Were there clues I didn't see?
Also kinda self-explanatory in a way?
On one interpretation, it takes Sophie an awful long time to mature and grow into an okay person. She lashed out after Tedrosâ rejection because her desire was, when you get down to it, to be loved, even though she didn't understand what love was or how to go about it. She was already loved both by Agatha and by her father but she couldn't see it because the idea of love (romantic, loud, grand-gesture) was so embedded into her, but the clues to it were there all along.
On another, you could argue that Nicola also did not see this coming at all, specially if you consider canon!Nicola rather than fanon!Nicola (why would you, but okay, ignore my Hunter post, go on, stomp on my feelings). Nicola, whose purpose in TCY was to be the new hort-love-interest no one asked for, ending up with her *gag* love-rival? Unexpected, iconic, never done before (never actually done in canon), amazing, mind-blowin-
Bad was the blood of the song in the cab on your first trip to LA
You ate at my favorite spot for dinner
Bad Blood was a smash hit on Taylorâs career, playing on the radio non-stop during the 1989 era, arguably her peak in terms of mainstream pop and radio plays.
The Tale of Sophie and Agatha was the equivalent in this context, as it was all the rage in Gavaldon after book 3; Sophieâs persona as the Dean Of Evil is solidified and everyone in The Woods knows who she is and read her tale, including Nicola (who already knew who she was, but now had a another version of her to compare to the version she already knew, which hm, did not favour Sophie either way).
I think itâs kind of fascinating how parasocial relationships work in the context of SGE because like, the storian is there as an omniscient narrator, but it doesnât write everything. Like, does it just expose what the people in the tale feel and think only if it suits the plot or do the tales look just like the SGE books, in some sort of fourth wall break or is it like an actual childrenâs fairytale, where you just get told actions and have to sort of assume motivations? How does that affect public opinion? I donât think most people would be too keen on stanning Sophie after reading The Tale Of Sophie and Agatha (cause damn, Sophie does a lot of questionable shit there) but canonically, they do, despite her being the villain, which is something I have opinions on (do I ever not have opinions on things?).
Like, sure there would be Nevers stanning her, but honestly, if they read the tale, wouldn't they be more likely to stan Hester or even Agatha? Cause Sophie almost got both Evers and Nevers killed, doomed everyone in The Woods for a guy, and was overall a horrible person with no regard for actual Good or Evil as balanced things? Isnât this why The Coven sided with Agatha, like, I donât get it- Is it stanning out of fear? Cause thatâs the only sort of explanation I have, specially for people in Gavaldon, but thatâs something Iâll go deeper into in another time.
Anyway, I wouldnât be surprised if Nicâs first class at SGE was about The Tale Of Sophie and Agatha, given she was originally placed in Evil, due to Dovey and Sophieâs bet, and Evilâs school curriculum was under Sophieâs control, so if you think those classes were anything other than the Sophie-Show, you are wrong.
Now, on to headcanon territory, wouldnât it be poetic if during her first lunch Nic sat at that tree in the middle of the clearing where Agatha and Sophie used to sit? Not only for ship reasons, but the tree is right in the center, which could relate to how Nic was supposed to be half/half?
Bold was the waitress on our three-year trip getting lunch down by the Lakes
She said I looked like an American singer
Itâs a real shame that I donât remember most of TCY. (But is it really?)
This is kinda of my own personal interpretation of what the OTK epilogue should have been like (and so, it's kind of a spoiler for my ever unfinished rewrite sksnsksn).
Imagine if, instead of that horrid school wedding (kill me now, please), they actually held the respective funerals for all the people lost in the Camelot power-struggle (Iâll take a school funeral, but donât come at me with school weddings or Iâll lose my shit).
Tedros and Agatha, poor traumatized children, are on their way back to Camelot to try and get stuff back under control and do royal things. Sophie is pretty much on her own, with the remaining faculty of the school, as well as the new kids (yeah, Hortâs staying dead, boo hoo, Iâm not sorry sbfhbsdb). Nicola will be returning home to Gavaldon soon, since the school schedule is already messed up beyond repair and everyone is taking some time off anyway. She was only staying there until christmas originally, so might as well.
Public opinion on the main trio is kinda weird at the moment:
Tagatha suffered a coup, then a while laterTedros killed the brother of his usurper, whom had been more popular than him, and well, they do tell people that Japeth killed Rhian, but itâs not like they have receipts? Like, thereâs no way to fact check that. They could very well have killed Rhian, we, as bystanders, wouldnât know? You can bet rumors like these donât just go away.
And Sophie?
Well, I think public opinion on Sophie was already fear-based rather than coming from a place of admiration for her acts. People arenât sure of her alliances anymore, and donât really know how to behave around her so they mainly avoid her. Now that Dovey and Hort are dead and everyone else is resuming their quests, sheâll be pretty much on her own to deal with the aftermatch, which is not only sad, but also probably not healthy. She considers staying with Agatha, but she doesnât want to add more scandal to the Camelot situation.
So she decides to go back to Gavaldon. Not permanently tho. Just to visit her father and take some time off to decide who could balance her well enough to be appointed as Dean Of Good.Â
She'd choose Agatha, but you know, Agatha is kinda busy. Plus, it'd be good to see her father. Watching most of your parental figures drop like flies really puts things into perspective and maybe (just maybe) there's still something to salvage there.
Not many people know she's at Gavaldon, and that's on purpose. For once, Sophie just wants to be left the fuck alone, so she just tries to lay low and not bring unnecessary attention to heself. It's so unlike her to do so that when she walks in to have lunch at Nicola's pub, no one but Nicola even recognizes her.
And if Nicola keeps her company and accompany her on walks, well, itâs no oneâs business. Bonding time? Bonding time.
Time
Mystical time
Cutting me open, then healing me fine
Were there clues I didn't see?
You know what these kids need after this Camelot shitstorm? Therapy, thatâs what.
Thereâs no therapy in The Woods, so friendship will simply have to do. Please sir, let these kids heal.
Nicola was dragged to SGE while her father was sick and knew no one there personally, then got dragged again, now into a power struggle where she almost died multiple times, dated a guy, broke up with a guy and I canât even remember what else but that sounds like a stressful time considering how close together the events from TCY are compared to TSY. What does she want to do now? Will she become a knight? Will she remain in Gavaldon? Does she have to finish school? How have Hunter and her dad been? Whatever went down with her brothers? Why was she important in the first place? Lots to reflect and self-search.
And Sophie. Oh Sophie.
Sophie fell once again for a âget-love-âquickâ scheme, not once, but twice! That is not something easy to look in the face and forgive yourself for.
With Rhian, it backfired by hurting everyone she loved, and after the shit Rafal pulled on her, she should have known better. But can you blame her? Itâs not like the Rafal thing left her unscratched: you try being in an abusive relationship with a predator, see if you donât get some trauma. And instead of doing the hard thing and keeping up the work she had been doing on herself she threw her progress out the window the moment Rhian said what she wanted to hear!
After that went belly-up, she at least managed to help her friends, but then later that backfired and she got brain-washed (are we gonna talk about this? disturbing much?). Then, she got fragile enough for her to attempt to find purpose in her life within Hortâs feelings for her, even if she didnât actually reciprocate those feelings, simply because she was sure of them and they were familiar.
And later, even Hort was taken away from her.Â
(Probably for the best, given their attachment had been⌠precarious, to say the least.)
Therapy, Iâm telling you.
A string that pulled me
Out of all the wrong arms right into that dive bar
Something wrapped all of my past mistakes in barbed wire
Chains around my demons
Wool to brave the seasons
One single thread of gold tied me to you
These two would be so good for one another.
I think that being alone when youâre going through something is literally the worst you can do, but when you have someone who justâŚ. gets it, you know? They were there too. They understand. It forms a connection.
After OTK, both of them (Sophie mostly) have enough on their plates for them to go down a dark path to a horrible place. But they donât. Cause they are here for each other and have their support system to help them.
Does that translate into late nights drinking together after the pub shuts down? Maybe. Keeping tabs on each other to make sure theyâre sleeping and eating right? Yes. Keeping secrets and confessions? You got it.
And then my friends, begins the pining.
Cause, you know, theyâre just gals being pals, gals being gay- wait what.
Nicola probably comes to terms with it first, but thinks Sophie is not interested in her like that (she also suspects that Sophie only sees her as Agathaâs stand-in and will drop her eventually once Agatha is no longer in such high demand.) Sophie is, in classic Sophie-fashion, neck-deep in denial, sheâs not a lesbian right? sheâs boy crazy, sheâs not a lesbian-
Except she never felt like this with any of those boys. The only comparison she has is what she feels for Agatha, this feeling of being heard and seen and understood, but-
But Sophie doesnât want to kiss Agatha.
And in retrospect, she never wanted to kiss anyone like this either. Tedros who, Rafal who, Rhian who, Hort who, these bitches could never.
Eventually they attend the official tagatha wedding, HELD AT THE CASTLE, as each otherâs plus-ones, and well, maybe consider checking my eventual OTK-epilogue for more on this, once it eventually comes out.
Cold was the steel of my axe to grind for the boys who broke my heart
Now I send their babies presents
Very self-explanatory, Tedros may be Sophieâs favorite ex, but heâs still an ex and they will be killing each other if left unchecked for two long unsupervised.
Nicphie as the tagatha baby godparents. Please, YES.
Iâm not gonna go into detail because children make me uncomfortable, I wish this was a joke, haha, but yes, Sophie and Nic pic the presents together and they attend the baby shower together. Are they dating, are they just married but donât know it yet? I wonder. They're just together and no one really knows what's going on.
Gold was the color of the leaves when I showed you around Centennial Park
Hell was the journey but it brought me heaven
You know whatâs funny? I didnât tell you anything between the wedding and the baby shower. Remember how there was an opening for Dean of Good?
Yeah, too late to send in your resumes, position is already filled.
Sophie shows Nic the ropes of being Dean, or at least thatâs how sheâll present it, but theyâre still sort of figuring it out together. And that's okay.
They spend summers traveling around, christmas in Gavaldon, new years in Camelot and all is well. Their fingerglow colors now match. But itâs, unfortunately not gold.
Time
Wondrous time
Gave me the blues and then purple pink skies
And it's cool
Baby, with me
Yeah, itâs fucking purple.
I canât remember if Nic has a canon fingerglow color, but I donât really care much for canon, do I? I just really like the imagery of it, so itâs blue and pink mixed together. Because, you know Iâm a symbolic bitch.
And isn't it just so pretty to think
All along there was some
Invisible string
Tying you to me?
Anyway, I am correct, this is the post.

You put a hesitant foot in Sylvainâs room, walking right behind him as he guided you. It was an ample space and it had a window that let the sunshine inside in the morning. The decoration was quite simple. The bed, placed under the window, was covered in white linen, and the walls were bare, without any pictures or posters. Its appearance broke your every expectation of what you had thought his room would be like.
You were surprised you couldnât find anything that screamed âSylvain lives hereâ, or any hint at all of his renowned affairs. You chastised yourself for thinking heâd have a box filled with panties he had stolen, or obscene magazines thrown around. He was now a close friend â perhaps something more, but your brain was trying to avoid that subject at the moment â so youâd have to stop assuming things about him. Especially regarding the high number of misconceptions youâve had about him. Yet the truth was that you would have never suspected that he lived in such an austere manner. You began to understand how he got along with Dimitri so well.
Despite the absence of luxuries, there was something that caught your eye: the quantity of books he owned. His desk and shelves were crammed, and there were even a few piles over the floor. You identified in a glance some history titles, as well as fiction and philosophical essays. It was quite the collection for someone most people considered an airhead â a thought that made you slightly angry at those people.
âSit wherever you want,â Sylvain commented. You sat on the bed, while he moved to take a seat on the chair in front of his desk. He carefully placed on the floor a board of chess, trying not to move any pieces. It was incomplete, with only a handful of blacks and whites. You wondered if Sylvain was trying to solve one of those problems that he used to do with Claude back in high school. Afterwards, Sylvain placed his hands behind his head and leant back. You looked around nervous, absentmindedly caressing the bed dressing with your fingertips, avoiding by all means ogling him.
âYou have a nice room,â you said. This was awkward, and you didnât know what to say. You felt once again you were invading his privacy by simply being there. And you were on his bed, where he slept. It felt very personal, and you were not sure if it was your place to be there.
âNot what you expected for someone like me, right?â, he hummed. You feared that he actually was able to read your mind after that line.
âHow is Glenn?â, you changed the subject, hoping Sylvain wouldnât notice.
âOh, heâs fine! Heâs conscious and recovering. Apparently, when he was going to work, a dog crossed the road and he crashed the car avoiding it.â Sylvain drew out a breath. âHonestly, Iâm so relieved heâs alive.â
âThat gives us time to proceed with our plan. But then again, Flayn is onto whatever is happening. Itâs not just paranoia, there must be a clue somewhere,â you reflected.
You had a few days to come to terms with Sylvainâs crazy theories after that encounter with Flayn at the hospital. As if fate had been mocking you, you had even more visions of your classmates in times of war, which only reinforced Sylvainâs words. You started writing down the smallest details you could recall, hoping theyâd be of help to clarify something. Anything. And you realised some names kept appearing time after time.
âI wanted to show you a few things,â Sylvain said. He turned around to look at the books opened on his desk. He moved a couple of volumes and used papers around until he chose one. The sound of papers being flipped frantically came from behind you. âHere it is!â
He stood up and gave it to you, waiting a minute for you to inspect it thoroughly.
âSo?â He insisted. Sylvain was eager to know your opinion. âWhat do you think?â
âItâsâŚâ you opened your mouth.
âAwfully familiar?â, he offered.
âYesâ, you nodded.
It was an ancient copy of Seirosâ precepts. There you could see a coloured engraving that displayed Saint Seiros, who had an eerie resemblance to Rhea, officially in charge of Garreg Mach High School and the cathedral annexed to it. Her light green hair, her bright and big eyes, her figure. Everything was exactly the same. She had a serene countenance, and she was surrounded by dragons. Once, you were taught that they represented the strength of Seiros and the four saints, but they had so many details, they looked real.
âAnd thatâs not the only thing!â Sylvain added before you could finish examining it. He passed you another book. âThis one is Linhardtâs, but he lent it to me indefinitely. He knows a lot about Saint Cethleann, heâs investigating her figure and plans to do a PhD.â
âWhat am I looking for?â, you asked, tracing the index with your finger.
âLook at the pictures first. There are a couple of engravings and drawings. Just look at any.â
You did as he told you. A chill ran down your spine.Â
âThis is Flayn,â you babbled, totally astonished. âBut, like, itâs clearly Flayn.â
âYes!â Sylvain was thrilled.
âThey have the same face,â you repeated. You looked at the bottom of the page, where a footnote was written, and read it out loud. ââSaint Cethleann was said to possess a kind heart and devoted her life to helping others in need. Thatâs why she developed an interest in medicine, and she is the patron saint of those who practice the art of healing. She healed countless wounded in her life, sparking the faith in those who met her.â Is this real?â He nodded, an amused expression decorating his face. He seemed entertained by your reaction. âIt looks like a set up.â
âItâs weird that all the pieces fit together as we go, right?â, Sylvain agreed. Â
âIf everything is so evident, why hasnât anyone found out anything yet?â, you exclaimed exasperated.
âWeâve gone over that before,â he sat next to you on the bed. He crossed one of his legs and was careful not to touch you with any part of his body. After all, you were not the only one self-conscious about this meeting. He had been feeling vulnerable ever since he went all in with you â it was easy to recognise.
You wanted to tell him that it was okay to have physical contact and get close to you. And that you had similar feelings for him. But neither of you had said anything after his speech, and your conversations hadnât got that way any other time. And now it seemed that you had lost your opportunity to give him an answer; it seemed forgotten and entombed.
âYeah, yeah. Everyone has bigger problems. Except us, apparentlyâ, you said ironically.
âI have plenty of problemsâ, he said with fake seriousness.
âOh?â, you mocked him. âIâve never noticed.â
âOne of them is no one takes me seriouslyâ, he smirked. You felt a pang of guilt on your stomach and averted your gaze towards the book. It was shameful to admit, but you had done it several times in the past. You didnât know he resented it.
âI wanted to try something,â Sylvain said out loud, demanding your attention. He looked flushed, but you dismissed the thought.
Thatâs when you remembered his cryptic messages earlier.
Sylvain (13:25): I might have come up with a thing that can be useful đ.
Sylvain (13:25): Come home whenever you want, Iâll be here.
He hadnât texted you as regularly as he did during the previous days, thus when his icon popped up on the screen of your phone, your heart fluttered in your chest. Should you go right away? Should you wait? There were things unsaid between you, but you had been dying to spend time with your favourite redhead. You convinced yourself that curiosity was playing a big part in your decision, and not your own emotions, so immediately answered affirmatively to his proposition.
âYes, you mentioned that before.â You looked at him in the eye. He was blushing, you had no doubts now. And it seemed that he was out of character, because who would have thought Sylvain would be ashamed at all flirting? âWhatâs wrong?â
âYou might not like my methods,â he shrugged.
âSylvain!â you sighed, annoyed. âWeâre way past your mysterious phase! Just tell me!â
âNo need to get mad, darling,â he laughed. Then, Sylvain coughed and recomposed himself. âI thought that maybe we could trigger memories so we can investigate them. Find a common pattern.â
âOkay.â
âWhat was the last thing you dreamt?â He inquired carefully. Sylvain knew that some dreams were⌠Unfavorable.
âThat horrible nightmare where I bury an axe in your chestâ, you said. It made you want to cry, just the mere mention of it. Such a brutal act, why would it have happened?
âAh, yes. That oneâ, he made a disgusted gesture. âYou couldâve picked a nicer one.â
âHow are we going to trigger the memories?â, you questioned him.
âBy touching,â Sylvain answered. You raised your eyebrows. âW-Wait, not in that way!â, he stuttered while waving his arms around, as if to clear the atmosphere. Hewas trying his best to correct his accidental innuendo. âWe can hold our hands, or just bump our shoulders together? We donât have to, of course, butââ
âSylvain, relax. I donât mindâ, you took his hand in yours to downplay the issue. That warmth that had become familiar spread throughout your skin. âBesides, itâs a good idea. Itâs worked before.â
âBut itâs not working now,â Sylvain complained.
âWhat did you think that was going to happen? Fireworks and a narrated episode of the battle of Garreg Mach?â You mocked, while he simply smirked.
The situation made your heart fly. The light outside was fading, dying the room of orange and gold. Everything surrounding you belonged to Sylvain, and you were on his bed, holding his hand in yours. It was special. A great fluttery feeling was forming in your stomach, one that made you light in the head and giggly. You shifted your body around awkwardly, without changing your position, and his grip tightened.
You noticed the muscles in his arm flexing, and his palm becoming sweaty.
âItâs not workingâŚâ, Sylvain lamented again.
âClose your eyes. Letâs focus on that memory together,â you instructed, half hoping it would work, half hoping it would prevent him from releasing your hand.
You let your eyes close. Every sensation became sharper. His touch, his presence, his smell. Everything had a distinct scent, the detergent of his clothes, his cologne, his books. - âPut yourself together!â you scolded yourself and tried to envision your memory instead of focusing on Sylvain.
The large field of Gronder; the confusion of bodies, some dead, some alive; the fresh blood; Sylvainâs horrid expression.
And, as if it was magic, it worked. You could vividly see it. The world surrounding you disappeared, and you were immersed in that moment lost in time.
The heat was suffocating, and so was the odour of burnt bodies and death. The podium where the archers had been trying to knock down the wyverns and pegasi had suddenly burned when the infantry had reached it. Many had died from all three parties: Dimitriâs, Edelgardâs and Claudeâs. The flames were consuming everything on your left. Your arms stung out of tiredness, for you couldnât even remember how long you had been there, fighting enemies.
Suddenly, you saw Sylvain. His horse was nowhere to be seen, and it saddened you. It was probably dead, too. A bad omen. You thought of the times he had insisted you rode with him, and the few times you accepted. Or when he stayed overtime to take care of the mount. You shook your head: he was now your enemy, and you had to kill him. Tears filled your eyes, and you voiced all the curses you could think of. How had everything turned into this? Where did it go wrong?
Sylvain was not aware that you were there. You traced his direction with your eyes. Was he escaping the fire? You hoped he was fleeing, but you knew him like the back of your hand. He had sworn loyalty to Dimitri and he wouldnât leave him behind. Never. You looked far beyond.
When the realisation hit you, you started running.
He was heading towards Claude, who wasnât riding his wyvern. Instead, he was supporting the infantry on the right flank with a sword and his bow. It was being effective in providing a much needed morale boost, but it wasnât his brightest move. Damn him for not knowing how to keep himself safe.
Your gaze fell upon Byleth, who in this world had long hair, cuter clothes and was Jeraltâs daughter instead of his son. She had advanced more, leading the knights fighting the Adrestian forces, so she wasnât going to save Claude, as she always did. Not this time, when she was risking her neck. You panicked, thinking about what disaster would happen if the heir to the Alliance, the only nation fighting actively against the Adrestian invasion, fell in battle.
You were almost there, axe in hand.
âClaude!â, you shouted. The Golden Deer leader realised Sylvain was about to stab him in the back, but dodged the hit just in time. Claude rolled on his side, while Sylvainâs lance got stuck in the ground.
You took advantage of this chance, arriving just a few seconds later, and with a swing of your weapon you broke the handle of his weapon in two. Moving with the momentum, your propelled the edge of the axe to Sylvainâs body. You contained your breath, wishing he would move away, that heâd escape. That youâd see him alive in the next battle, even if it meant going through another hell. Maybe youâd both survive, overcome your differences. But he didnât move away. He stayed in place.
A lost arrow pierced your thigh. Even if you didnât feel it at all thanks to the adrenaline pumping through your blood, it made you face reality.
Sylvain, disarmed, was on the other side of your weapon. You let go of the handle. It had cracked his armour, and his hot blood was flowing down. Sylvain fell to his knees, his face completely white.
âIâm sorry, Sylvain...â you said, as you fell backwards, unable to use your right leg due to the deep wound. He smiled but stayed completely still. Life was slowly escaping his body. You threw up on your side.
âIgnatz! Cover me!â, you heard Claude shouting. It seemed distant, while in reality he was too close. He was shouting your name, too, but your gaze was fixed on Sylvain. You couldnât speak or move. Claude lifted you and placed you in his arms, carrying you somewhere safe. Sylvain was still alive, yet immobile. You couldnât help thinking about him. Why was no one helping him? Is he going to die alone on the battlefield? Claudeâs voice, assuring you that you were going to be alright, started to fade and his face was getting blurryâŚ
âAre you okay!?â Sylvain was shaking your shoulder. You were laid down on his bed and he was above you.
âYesâ, you answered, eyes open wide. You got up, and you returned to the position you had been in before on Sylvainâs bed. âWhat happened?â
âYouâve been gone for 5 minutes. As in, eyes opened, not responding to anything. I was about to call an ambulance.â Sylvain inspected you closely, quite worried. You could sense his breath on your skin.
âIâm fineâ, you whispered, still a bit disoriented and dizzy.
âAre you sure?â
You nodded.
âSylvain,â you called his name, his hand still on your shoulder. âWhat happened after you killed me? Did you see that?â Why did you want to know?
âAh, yes. Ferdinand killed me afterwardsâ, he groaned. âHe was avenging your deathâŚâ
âTypical of him. Iâll make sure to thank him, though. It was very thoughtful,â you joked. âWhat about Claude? And Dimitri?â
âThey were dead too. Fallen in combat,â he said with an unsure voice. âEdelgard was the one reigning after that, or so Iâve thought. It makes sense.â
âI recall professor Byleth there, behind me. He was fighting side by side with Edelgard. They must have won.â You agreed with a gesture. âWhat about when we married? Was Byleth there?â
âYes. Next to Dimitri. I think they got married too. That time, the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus got the victory.â He crossed his arms, but his leg was touching yours. âWhat are you implying?â
âI killed you to protect Claudeâ, you started. The redhead knitted his brows.
âWe already know that,â Sylvain commented, annoyed.
âWhy are you so irritated?â You got confused why he was hasty upon mentioning Claude, until a certain thought crossed your mind.Â
âNo reason, just that the last thing I got to see was you in the arms of Claude.â He sighed. A smile found its way on your lips, an eyebrow raising.
âAre you jealous?â You teased him.
âThen, you got together with Claude after that. He commented something once about it,â Sylvain continued, ignoring your question. âOkay, keep going. What are you trying to say?â
âThe war is between the three countries of the continent of FĂłdlan. And the respective leaders of each are, coincidentally, the leaders of each House at Garreg Mach â former monastery, currently a high school.â He nodded, prompting you to carry on. âWhen I killed you, Claude was the winner. The other countries fell and the Alliance took over. And Byleth was at his side. The same happened with Edelgard and Dimitri respectively, right? So that might indicate that Byleth is the deciding piece of the board. Depending on what side he-â, you remembered how Byleth had different appearances, â-He, she, or they pick, the events change and makes their side win the war and, ultimately, take control of FĂłdlan.â
âAnd how did that occur to you?â, he looked concerned. âItâs plausible. Iâm not questioning you, but itâs quite twisted.â
âBecause they are the only thing that actually changes in the war. Everything seems the same until Byleth arrives.â
âWell, you changed from Houses all the time,â Sylvain pointed out.
âEvery time, to join Bylethâs class. Donât you see it?â You tried to convince him.
âIt seems logical to think that Byleth has something to do with it but we canât be sureâŚâ
âItâs a hunch, Sylvain,â you explained. âIâm sure we have to talk to Byleth. We will find something. This time, when I saw Byleth fighting, something clicked.â
Sylvain hugged you without a warning. He buried his head on the crook of your neck and enclosed you in his arms. Your hands rested against his chest, you trapped and unable to make a single move. The warmth surrounding you felt so warm, so comforting. Everything was going to be okay, Sylvain was there, and he wonât be gone this time.
âIâm scared that this will lead to a dead-end street. But⌠at last weâve found a clue. Iâve been waiting for this foreverâŚâ He said with a strained tone. Sylvainâs voice was quiet. He didnât want to let you go.
âItâs thanks to all your work, Sylvain. Everything you wrote was very usefulâŚâ You smiled, leaning into his embrace, almost melting. âYou had noticed too Byleth was an important factorââ
âIâm just really happy youâre here with me. That you havenât chosen Claude or Edelgard over me this time.â He chuckled, trying to shoo away the remainders of sadness. âNot gonna lie here, Iâm extremely happy you didnât choose Claude. That bastard.â
âHey,â you reprimanded him. âClaude is nice. Itâs not his fault weâre in this mess.â
âWell, he took you away from me onceâ, Sylvain said as he hugged you closer. âHave I told you that you married him?â
âWhat did you want me to do? You were dead!â You chuckled. It was weird to talk so lightly about it, but Sylvain became more comfortable the less relevant it felt. âThis feels niceâŚâ, you muttered, turning your face to kiss the top of his head. His red hair was soft, and it smelt of citrus. âSo now weâre on hugging terms?â
âYesâ, Sylvain affirmed. âI might never let you go now that we crossed that line.â
âI wouldnât mindâŚâ
But a loud gasp resounded behind you. The tender moment that you wished would last forever was suddenly replaced with surprise.
âIâm so sorry Sylvain!â A voice shouted, someone that you identified as Dimitri. He closed the door with a slam.
Sylvain moved away, averting his eyes. His cheeks were blushing, and your own were warm too.
âIâm going to explain to Dimitri that we werenât doing anything weird, okay?â, he scratched his head, again, and you recognised it as a gesture he made when he felt awkward. Little by little, you had been learning his non-verbal language. âI donât want him traumatized for all his life.â You giggled.
âDoes it make you nervous that Dimitri thinks weâre banging? He only saw us hugging,â You questioned daringly.
âShut upâ, he flashed his handsome smile. Flirting was an art he had mastered, and he felt confident with it. âAnd say that youâre staying for dinner, instead.â
âNot if youâre cooking instant noodles, Sylvainâ, you narrowed your eyes. âThatâs not a real dinner. You wonât trick me â Iâve seen all the packages in the cupboards.â
âFirst, weâre in college, and everythingâs valid.â He stood up with a flourish. âSecond, Dimitri had gone to the supermarket, so heâs the one cooking. It relaxes him.â
âOkay, he cooks real food. Iâm staying then.â
âPerfect.â Sylvain winked, as he ran out of the room. His voice could be heard all over the apartment, and Dimitri was still stuttering. You smiled to yourself and took out your phone and opened the app to write an email.
[From: YOU - To: [email protected]]
Dear Professor Eisner,
I hope everything is fine.
Sylvain Jose Gautier and I are having a few questions regarding the bibliography of our project. Weâd like to meet you next week to settle the matter and discuss some work.
Thank you very much.
âIâve never skipped classes legally beforeâ, commented Sylvain casually.
You two were navigating the corridors of the building where teachers had their offices. Everything was dull and generic, except for the occasional cabinets that displayed trophies and nameplates that students and professors had earned long ago.
âThatâs why you were in detention all the timeâ, you reminded him.
âIt was intentional. I wanted to strengthen my relationship with Setethâ, he said, laughing. You had to give in and laugh too, not only because he was actually funny, but because his humour was contagious. You couldnât help but mirror it.
You eyed him from head to toe. Your companion was wearing a pair of black jeans and a white t-shirt. He had a dark-grey, almost black blazer with rolled up sleeves on due to the chilliness in the air. His attire rang a bell.
âWhy are you dressing like we did in the Monastery?â You wondered out loud to him.
âBecause Iâm pretty hot in black and whiteâ, Sylvain chuckled in delight with a deep and sexy tone. He was right. You could outline with a glance his body, which was pretty well built. Of course, you did everything you could to deny it, so you put on your best deadpan face. âOkay, okay. I think it might make Byleth nervous.â
âNow thatâs a joke,â you remarked. âByleth barely showed any emotion during a war. Do you think it takes so little to irk him?â
âYou might be right,â he conceded.
âHere!â You grabbed Sylvainâs sleeve, bringing him back after he walked past the correct door.
âThe nameplate says Dr. Gloucester. Do you need your eyes checked?â Sylvain emphasized.
âDr. Gloucester retired, and they gave his office to Byleth. He told us the first day! What were you doing?â
âOkay, okay,â he rolled his light brown eyes. âYou knock.â
âWhat are you? Five?â You said while hitting the door with your knuckles.
âCome in,â Bylethâs voice came from the interior of the office.
You opened the door to see your professor encircled by lots of papers. No one can escape bureaucracy.
You stopped in the middle of the room. Right then, you felt an extraordinary sense of existence. As if all the years that had passed before your adventures with Sylvain were but a mere dream and your consciousness had come back to you a few weeks ago. You were sure that Bylethâs presence was having its own influence on you, now that you had regained a good number of your forgotten memories. There was a strange energy in the atmosphere.
Now that you considered it, this was just like that sweet time you spent at Garreg Mach Monastery. Wandering around to avoid boredom with Sylvain and finding much more than just entertainment, following Byleth around to ask all kinds of questions, spending the big seasonal events with your friends⌠That was what happiness looked like to you.
âYou can take a seat,â Byleth said.
âAh, yes, thank you.â You muttered. Sylvain was next to you in those uncomfortable iron chairs your university loved buying.
âWhat can I help you with?â He asked, ever so willing to help, yet enigmatic.
âAh, we have a basic bibliography for the Crescent Moon War, but weâre lacking a few good articles in Loogâs biographyâ, Sylvain started, replaying the topics you had agreed on. âWe donât know if the authors are reliable.â
âI can take a look at those namesâ, Byleth smiled. âAnd I have a few books you could use.â
âThatâd be great!â, you cheered with a fake façade. You had to admit, it was quite fun to play spies.
âTheyâre on that bookcaseâ, your professor pointed at the one right on your side. You stood up and started looking around.
âI had a question on Klaus I, that king of Faerghus, as well. What was the role he played inâŚâ, Sylvain asked, so serious and well versed in the matter.
You disconnected from the conversation, turning to read the titles on the wall. You took a thick, blue book filled with dust, pretending it caught your interest. Then another black volume, with leather covers and golden letters. You kept investigating, about the Almyran invasion; the formation of the Academy of Garreg Mach, the base of your own high school; history of the Adrestian Empire⌠Nothing past the year 1000. It was quite suspicious.
You turned around, and Byleth was drawing a diagram for a focused Sylvain, who was all nods and questions. They couldnât see you anymore, or at least it seemed so. Out of the corner of your eye, on the closest end of the professorâs large mahogany desk, you saw a bunch of letters. Discreetly, you looked up the sender. Curly letters with the address of Rhea were written there, right from the Cathedral.
You made sure Bylethâs vision was blocked by a stack of folders. With decision and a steady hand, you took the most recent one and hid it under your clothes. Desperate situations call for desperate measures, right? Besides, it wasnât exactly stealing, and you had already made an excuse. âIt got misplaced when I took the books you lent me, professor,â you heard yourself say in your head.Â
âIs there anything else you need?â Byleth said, when his discussion with Sylvain was done. He clearly intended for you to leave, as it was getting late.
âNo, we were going away now,â Sylvain confirmed, walking towards the door. You followed him. Yet you grew bold.
âCan I ask just one more thing?â You said to the professor right before exiting.
âOf course.â The man with the dark blue hair.
âI canât seem to find how the Crescent Moon War influenced the later war of 1180,â you stated.
Byleth remained silent for a moment. His jaw tensed. Your heart pounded. Did you catch him?
âThatâs because there wasnât any war that year,â Byleth responded. His demeanour was calm and serious as ever. Had he been practicing?
âOh, really?â You tried to sound candid, feigning surprise. âIâm really bad with dates! That must be it!â
âYou might have confused a couple of battles with a war. The battle took place around that year, but there wasnât any declaration of war madeâ Byleth declared with a tense smile.
âSorry for the trouble!â You exclaimed at last, urging Sylvain to go out with your elbow.
You closed the door behind you, and walked fast to distance yourself from any of the offices.
âWhat was that?â Sylvain was shocked.
âWait until we get out of here,â You begged.
Once you were on the common grounds of the student buildings, you stopped Sylvain. There was nobody around, as they were still in class. The ginger plopped himself on a bench.
âThat was a good shot, but you were rightâ, he shrugged. âBylethâs cold blood wonât make it easy. You were right, heâs special, I could feel a kind of connection⌠But we got nothing out of thisâŚâ
âI might have somethingâ, you looked at him intently.
âOn the books he gave you?â, he tilted his head. âBecause I have revised all the library and ââ
You took the opened letter out of your blouse. The silver details shone under the light.
âWhat the hell!â, Sylvain shouted. You shushed him, making desperate gestures with your arms to keep him from attracting any attention. You were paranoid, even though you were alone. Instead of any logical reaction, he had a fit of laughter.
âWhat?â You asked, irked.
âI thought you were physically incapable of anything remotely wrong in a moral sense!â He kept laughing, despite your attempts to quiet him down. âWhy did you take it? Another hunch?â
âIf you donât get caught, you donât get punishedâ, you said in a sarcastic tone.
âI knew it! Youâre just as bad as me!â Sylvain was delighted.
âI might be,â You admitted because, well, he was right. Stealing the mail was a serious crime. But you took a small comfort in the pride and surprise Sylvain made you feel. You were no longer your dull, old self, that went on with the flow of events. No, you had a goal â multiple goals, in fact â and you were going to be an active participant in your life.
In that moment you wanted to kiss Sylvain again. But you had other priorities.
âAre we going to read this or not?â You dared him.
âDonât ask me twice.â

What is the main pairing you write for?
Harringrove - Billy Hargrove/Steve Harrington from Stranger Things
What inspired you to start writing for them?
The obvious tension between them in the show, and all the queer subtext I could see in Billyâs character! Plus, of course, all the amazing creators I found in the fandom. I wanted to contribute too!
Do you remember the first fic you ever wrote?
The first fic I ever wrote was definitely something Harry Potter related. The first fic I SHARED was a Simon vs. fic I wrote when the book came out, when that fandom was even smaller than it still is.
What fic/scene has been the hardest for you to write and why?
Billyâs relationship with his dad is always a challenge for me to write. Because we saw so little of it, and the little we saw was a mess. Thereâs a lot that hits close to home, whenever I write Billy in general. When I look back to the first time I ever wrote their relationship, I just want to go back and change it all. Itâs a struggle, to capture something real, there.
What inspires you?
When I write, I get a lot of inspiration from thoughts running around in my own head, true events or just random things that COULD happen, to me. To someone LIKE me. But also, a lot of the beautiful fanart in the fandom give me real good ideas for fics. Just generally in life, my inspiration comes from fiction, I think. Iâve always read a lot, and that feeling of seeing something on paper that could happen to you, or would never ever happen, having that grip you and keep you in a whole different world, that feeling means a lot to me. Literature plays a big part in all aspects of my life, in the end.
Do you have a writing process? If so, what's it like?
Oh... I donât think I even know my own process, really. I try to always have something at hand, a phone or computer or notebook, so I can write down ideas as soon as inspiration hits. Thatâs probably the only consistent thing, I write down all my ideas, big ones or small ones, because I know I forget them within the minute if I donât. And from there, I usually try to find the âeye of the stormâ first. What does the whole fic revolve around? How does it come to that place? Why does it change? Honestly, my projects are messes right until theyâre done. Snippets of dialogue here, some author notes to myself there, delusional 2 am writing hidden away in a corner.
How would you describe your writing style?
My writing style is... messy. But thatâs why I like it. Itâs filled with cut off thoughts and italics, âcause thatâs how I think. And thatâs how Iâd like to imagine those characters think. Itâs also slightly influenced by the poetry I read, and just other literature in general. All though I try to be careful when it comes to that, âcause Iâd rather something be plain when it comes to wording, than to be all fancy in a way the characters would never think. My writing style is like mundane poetry, if that makes sense.
Is there anyone that influences your style?
Not really, at least not consciously. I definitely take up tips from other writers, both in fandom and published authors. I see things I like in someone elseâs writing and remember it for the next time I write. Something I think influences me a little is âThe book of disquietâ by Fernando Pessoa.
What's your favourite line that you've written? This was a tough one, really. Probably this one, from my fic âthe first time I saw the ocean (it was in your eyes)â
âto find darker blue in the lighter, specs of green so vivid that itâs weird heâs never seen them before. Maybe heâs never really looked , before.â
Itâs really not a deep line or anything, but it really just captures Steveâs unknowing longing. The way he wants but he doesnât know what. The way he sees so much that heâs never seen before, doesnât really know what to do with that.
What do you find to be the easiest part of writing?
I donât know if it counts, but nsfw content is definitely the easiest and non challenging stuff for me to write. âCause just on a base level, it doesnât really hold any depth. It can, depending on what you do with it, how you write the characters inner turmoil and everythinâ. Other than that, I feel like itâs easy for me to write dialogue, all sorts of it. As a theatre kid, scripts have always had a big appeal, I guess.
What's the hardest?
The hardest is definitely getting to the point. Iâll spend too many words on building up a backstory, and then the actual plot just never happens. Backstory can be nice, but some fics call for that âbeing plunged right into the chaosâ, from the start.
Why do you write?
I write âcause Iâve learnt no one else is going to give me the fiction I want. No ones gonna write characters like me if I do nothing. Sure, itâs starting, the whole diversity thing. But I wonât sit around and hope someone will write a book or script a movie with characters I can see myself in. Iâll write it myself. Of course, writing is a passion of mine. Itâs not just that I wanna see myself on a page or a screen. The way we have languages, ways of creating stories and immortalize them, itâs so amazing to me. And I love it.
Why do you share your work?
I share my work in hope to make someone feel something. I want people to read words Iâve put together and feel things, feel pain or happiness or sadness or hope. Anything. âCause itâs so baffling to me that words can DO that. I also want other people to be able to see themselves in something. A lot of people turn to fanfiction to find some kinda story they can see themselves in, and if I make even one person feel like they belong thanks to my work, Iâve succeeded.
Is there anything youâd like to share from a current WIP?
Iâve got quite a few of âem, and too little organization to finish them. Hereâs an excerpt from my fic âthe first time you said sorry (you used all the wrong words)â - part 2 of my âa series of firsts (in a way)â
âNothing changes, except Steve canât stop thinking about it. And heâs great at not thinking about it, but blue eyes and rough hands and deft fingers keep following him. That feeling, too. The one that gripped him, locked him in place. It choked him, left him heaving. Maybe itâs âcause it was Hargrove. Heâd find some way of hurting him, even if he didnât pound his face in. Maybe itâs the queer thing. The thing heâs never, ever thought about. The thing he locked away, kept away. Maybe itâs a sign that heâs not, that itâs so wrong that his body protested against it, locked itself in.â
(Italics got removed, but you can imagine I overuse the hell outta them)
Question from an anon: as a gay man, how do you feel about straight women who enjoy m/m fanfiction?
Now, this is quite the heated subject. And I do have a lot of feelings about that. Both as a gay man, and as a fanfiction writer. First, and most importantly, if what you enjoy is not harmful to you or anyone else, itâs okay to enjoy it. Iâm all for enjoying things. As a content provider, my whole goal is for people to enjoy themselves. And Iâd never restrict my content to one group of people, âcause everyone has the right to consume free media, and I want to share my work with everyone.
Straight women have the same right to enjoy content as any other person. Whatever floats your boat, do that. But, one thing needs to be clear. Enjoying m/m fanfiction in itself is nothing more than that. It doesnât make you an ally of the community, and it doesnât make you apart of it. Honestly, its just fetishizing. If you consume gay porn, itâs âcause it gets you going. If a straight woman consciously searches out gay porn or m/m fan fiction, its fetishizing.
And the extreme fetishizing of gay men in media is a problem. Weâve been given breadcrumbs of representation only to now be used as bait for straight girls who think itâs just sooo cute to see TimothĂŠe Chalamet get fucked on screen. And I get angry about that. I get angry that the representation we need is redirected to other people, people who really donât care about the community as a whole further than their cute gay (and cis, and white) couples. I hate that. But i canât sit and pretend like I have some sort of moral high ground. âCause I make content that feeds into that. But itâs different, with fanfiction. I make content for MYSELF, and then whoever sees it, good for them. If all of my readers were straight women, Iâd be fine with that. As long as they know that all they do is enjoy porn that fits their fetish. Or, if its not the smut, its still to an extent that. Fetishizing or romanticizing a group of people. And you do you, as long as you know thatâs all you do.
Enjoy the harmless content you want to enjoy. And fanfiction is harmless. Just, this is the important part, donât act like youâre doing more than that. Youâre not a gay icon or an ally or super woke for reading about two fictional characters who interacted once fuck. Youâre enjoying yourself, and thats fine. But in the end, its nothing more than that. Â Weâre a community, and you gotta stick up for everyone if you think youâre even close to an âallyâ. Queer folk stick together. And when i say i donât mind straight women reading my work, I gotta make one thing clear:
My work is to LGBT+ people, from someone in the community. I write because we deserve to see authentic people like us in fiction. And Iâm doing my part to make at least one person feel like they can see a character and think âthis is meâ.

I stole this from @the-kaedageist because it looked fun.
(Also me: âIâll do this meme quickly...â ... *loses track of time*)
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
78 to my greatest surprise. I guess the only favor 2020 did for me was in writing.
2) Whatâs you total AO3 word count?
355,868. Holy...
3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
10. Critical Role, CWDC, Men in Black (movies), Supernatural, Doctor Who, PotC. Spattering of some other stuff.
4) What are your top five fics by Kudos?
Unconventional, Men in Black, Jay/Kay, 1211 kudos... somehow
Fish Tales, Men in Black, Jay/Kay, 336 kudos
meet us where the night ends, Critical Role, Essek/Caleb, 298 kudos
I see death cresting over the hill, Critical Role, Essek/Caleb, 276 kudos
message, Critical Role, Essek/Caleb, 273 kudos
5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I AM REALLY BAD ABOUT THIS. Itâs literally on my AO3 profile that Iâm bad about it. I try every now and then but I so often just get flustered and then donât end up responding. Oftentimes Iâm at work and just flailing during the rest of my shift and yeah /)_(\ Words Are Hard, says the writer.
6) Whatâs the fic youâve written with the angstiest ending?
OH THEREâS A COUPLE. I would say Caught in the Wires (MIB, Jay/Kay); and you know my soul (CRc2, Essek/Caleb) probably are the two worst for bad end future fics. follow me into the golden wild (DW, Rose & the Moment) is my favorite of my bad end fics though lol. I fucking love that fic hahaha, and itâs one of my least read stories XD
7) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one youâve written?
I donât really. Not fic wise. A lot of my thought processing goes through basically using an RP format with myself (because I like icons, okay) so sometimes Iâll take wild concepts and play out scenarios with a bunch of characters and sometimes Iâll get shit out of it that I can actually use but other times Iâll have fun things that will not translate well to fic.
My fav of those was a Pokemon AU that yâknow basically dragged a bunch of characters in and eventually they had to deal with a Problem like ya do while still ending up stranded. I enjoyed throwing Dean/Lucifer at that because Dean just ended up âghost huntingâ aka freeing/helping/catching ghosts and ending up with 70+ and Lucifer really only traveling around with a Zoroark and still hating humanity but helping mistreated and scapegoated pokemon.
I just really like Dean and his ghost army lmfao.
An actual crossover fic I have (and maybe one day could finish) was Arrow/The Dresden Files only because Paul Blackthorne except it uses book canon instead of TV canon because of Winter Court Bullshit so like whatever, I do what I want some days I guess \o_O/
8) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I donât... think so? I sometimes get minor disagreements on characterization but I typically write for myself and am pretty set in my ways so itâs like okay I accept your opinion but itâs not going to change anything.
9) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I cannot write smut to save my life.
10) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
If I have I definitely havenât noticed.
11) Have you ever had a fic translated?
stood too close to the flames (LoT, Mick/Len) was translated.
12) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No.
13) Whatâs you all-time favorite ship?
I ship so many things at the drop of a hat and so frequently go back to old ships to find new things to read even if itâs been a looooong time. I would say Jay/Kay since Iâve shipped and written them for the greatest length of time without it fading.
I do genuinely enjoy writing Dean/Lucifer though so go rarepairs I guess.
14) Whatâs a WIP you want to finish but donât think you ever will?
I fucking love Iâll Stop the Whole World (DW, Doctor/Master, 47k words) as Iâve pulled it up again after idk months to skim through but I suppose I learned a lot from writing lost in the lapse again and going backwards to any of my longer WIPs just hurts a bit? I want to figure it out because thereâs so much I adore in it but thereâs a lot of work to be done and having two monitors helps now but... I donât have the energy to tear it apart and sew it back together.
15) What are your writing strength?
god idk
Iâd like to say Iâve gotten better at I guess... balance? Juggling dialogue and action and scenery. I forced myself to work on scenery descriptions awhile back and I think it paid off?
I learned to take good notes, especially if itâs something with multiple plot threads that I need to keep track of. Thatâs what has made some of my older WIPs such a bitch because I didnât do that and Iâm like ????? Hey? Past Me? WHAT?!?! And retroactively trying to build a timeline is REALLY DIFFICULT ACTUALLY.
I do also think I keep my narrative parallels pretty tight. Iâm sure a lot get missed because people arenât staring at the same story that I am for months combing things over, but it delights me okay ;)
16) What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing shit?! Well, Iâve gotten better at that over the course of the last year. Critical Role reaction fics helped A TON with that. Just spitting things out immediately after an episode.
I am a fucking perfectionist though. Like Iâll canon divergence all I want but mentally I need the basis of canon to weave into my writing even if itâs just for a single line. I like willfully breaking canon not ignorantly.
This means I either never get things done because I need to rewatch or I too meticulously obsess over something.
While I think Iâm good with writing scenery Iâm SUPER BAD at character descriptions?? Iâm trying to?? Work on it?? But thatâs one thing Iâve finally just been like okay I know Iâm bad at this I just need to accept it and go on because if I get hung up on it then again, nothingâs gonna get posted.
Iâve learned that I vehemently hate the words âstillâ and âprobablyâ because I white noise them even when doing intensive editing and I use them so damn much and now that I realize going back to read old things hurts my soul.
17) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Look I grew up primarily on writing Yu-Gi-Oh! fic. I had my Time with poor use of Japanese in fic. While I donât have any fandoms now that I write for that it would be relevant... I canât do it anymore. However, reading it doesnât bother me, and it generally doesnât jar me out of anything. Like it feels normal reading it in MDZS fics for one thing.
18) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
I want to say some super wonky ~new cards~ Cardcaptor Sakura fic. But I think the first fandom I published for on FFN was likely YGO. Anything early than that I would have blacked out of my memory ahahaha.
19) Whatâs your favorite fic youâve written?
lost in the lapse again took up my life for MONTHS and was really my pride and joy. It was the longest thing Iâve ever written and edited to my liking. Iâm so so happy with how it came out and Iâm shocked honestly that it has 118 kudos now because I really expected it to get maybe half that, tops. But it was definitely one of those Iâm writing this for me, this encompasses what I want, and if others enjoy it that would be really nice!
Otherwise I think Iâd say I see death cresting over the hill because it has so many elements I just enjoy rereading. I think itâs my favorite of my Critical Role fics too.
