Legends Never Die
Co-written with the amazing @villainsandheroes
CW: super hero fights, physical violence, mentions of destruction of property. Not much going on here, just setting up for the real whumpy bits!
— — —
Legend strolled around the city, looking for ways he could create some trouble. The hero team had been busy recently as villains from the whole district had been attacking, several of them a day. He didn’t care much however, an itch to fight with one of them after running into the new hero several days before.
Legend’s attention was caught as he looked over at the park on the south side of the city. His dragonfly-like wings spread and he flew up to a nearby building so he could get a better look. Ox, the city's strength centered hero, was trying to clean up the park from destruction rot on it. They were moving trees and benches as civilians were busy on the other side cleaning up the trash that had been left behind.
Legend smirked, noticing how their movements were slower than normal. He eyed the foundation of a building nearby which had already been cleaned of debris. He wondered quietly how long that took, judging by how they looked, Legend concurred they hadn’t taken much, if any of a break. He hummed a bit before whistling to get their attention.
Ox looked up, but they didn’t have to. They had a pretty good idea of who could possibly be trying to get their attention right now, and their hunch was right. “Ah, Legend. I’m a bit busy right now.” They said, gesturing at the mess. “Can’t it wait?” They give him a fond but mostly exasperated look.
“Aw. You get any sleep? Or have you been too busy helping them?” He gestured his head over to the small cleanup crews. “You know, I really don’t think it’s in your contract that you have to help them.” He chuckled while walking to the edge of the building, stepping off. His wings caught his fall and let him land.
Ox rolled their eyes and kept cleaning. Their strength made the job so much easier for the cleaning crew, who desperately needed any help that they could. “I didn’t become a hero just to get paid, you know. Doing this means going above and beyond, no matter what the contract says.”
Legend made a face, practically dripping with disapproval and annoyance. “What a generous hero. God, can’t you ever be selfish?” He glanced over at the crew before back at Ox. None of them seemed super alarmed, which was good. He didn’t want a big scene. Legend stepped even closer into their personal space. “Why not just a little fight, hm Ox?”
They tensed momentally, out of habit. But their muscles relaxed a second later, and they lightly pushed Legend away, weary with his insistence, but not upset. “Well, all of the really heavy stuff has been taken care of by now, which is what they really need me for. How about this? If we go to a different area, and you promise to not make a mess, then we can fight. Do you hear me? Not a single. Ounce. Of. Damage. Not a broken branch of a city tree or a crack in the road.”
"Or what?" He leaned over them. "Because I really think the city could put more of their attention in this part of the city." He whispered while smiling gently.
“More attention needed to this part does not mean you should wreck it. No, we’re going somewhere else. Even just a few blocks over. I won’t let you cause havoc here.” Ox said, raising an eyebrow. A civil and good-hearted, although very genuine, challenge.
Legend eyed them before letting out a deep sigh. "You have two minutes to get there before I get bored." He flew off to an area with a more open field away from everyone. Fully prepared to go right back to the city, planning out in his head which buildings he would attack first.
Ox grumbled to themself about Legend, running after him as fast as they could while still conserving energy for the fight. “What a jerk…” they whisper to themself, trying to find when he went.
He hummed softly, looking up as they ran closer. Flying up in the air to get behind them before diving at them and slamming them into the ground.
All the earlier bits of fondness were mostly gone from their eyes as their mind shifted into Serious Hero Time. They had no problem shoving him off and rose to their feet as quickly as possible. They weren’t one for talking during a fight, so they didn’t. Their body tense and their muscles prepared to spring into action and defend against Legend’s attacks.
Legend was content with the situation, the fighting back and forth lasted for a while. Ox was one of the heroes on the team that Legend struggled fighting the most due to their strength aspect, but it made it all that more of a challenge. Eventually, he pulled back instead of leaping forward. “Nice fighting, good to see you aren’t rusty.” He gave them a smile before flying off.
Ox wiped the sweat off of their brow. Legend was always doing stuff like this. Forcing a fight, then leaving just as suddenly. And although he could be dangerous, he wasn’t a super violent villain— not that Ox would ever say that to his face — and his wings were a nice change of pace from most fights. Checking over themself, Ox started heading back to the hub. They had to write up a report on the fight that had just transpired before they could finally go home and rest.
One of their teammates waved over from the couch. "Hey, Andi! Is everything ok? Saw Legend on the news."
Andi sighed, flopping down on the couch with all the gracefulness of a, well, tired ox. “Well, he didn’t really cause much damage to buildings, and no civilians got hurt, so I’d say things are okay.”
Luna smiled sympathetically. Leaning over to gently rub their back. "I'll get you a snack. Sweet or salty?" She stood up.
“Sweet, please. Do we have any more of those little cookies?” Andi stayed sitting, but they watched Luna fondly. They were proud of her like they were of all the heroes on this team.
Most districts only needed a couple heroes, but due to the dangerous location with so many government-lead facilities around, the government allowed quite a lot of heroes in the area. The first six months or so was miserable as they struggled with trying to figure out each other's schedules. Who had what villains at what point in time. Their Leader was the one who had the idea that they just all become a team. Backup was needed for some fights anyways, so it made sense.
Everyone had been excited about the team and their performances all went up as well. One of their teammates had sent in a request for a hub, and surprisingly the government complied and began work. The facility wasn’t too huge but it was much more than most heroes got. There were work offices, several joined living areas, a kitchen with thousands of dollars worth of appliances.
And then Luna had come along a year or so ago. She was an up and rising hero, with very little experience. Surprisingly though, she wasn’t holding the group back in any ways. In fact, their little group had grown quite a lot since she had joined.
“Mhm! I’ll be right back.” Luna left to go to the kitchen. She hummed to herself as she got a plate of cookies and some water for them as well. Carefully added in flavorless electrolytes so Andi could recover a little bit easier from working non-stop. Luna picked up one of the report packets from the kitchen counter and brought them over, smiling a bit while presenting everything. “Voilá.”
Andi smiled, taking the plate and the packet. They began to fill out the report while munching happily on their snack. They had to brush away fallen crumbs from the papers every once in a while, but they finished at last. As they put away the plate and turned in the form, Andi noticed that Luna was still in the lounge. They gave her a friendly smile. “So, what about you? Have any big villain fights yet?”
“Yeah, actually.” She smiled, looking up from her book. “A couple of days ago some of the villains were causing trouble and the others were busy so I got my first solo battle.” She smiled. “Yesterday Legend found out and challenged me. Buuuut I didn’t wanna risk fighting him yet. I think I need more experience in hand-to-hand combat.”
“You came face to face with Legend? Wow.” Andi knew that Legend wouldn’t have tried to seriously hurt her, but that jerk wasn’t exactly known for his carefulness. They gave Luna a concerned look. “I’m glad you recognized you aren’t ready yet. Congratulations on the solo fight, and be careful out there.” With that, Andi said their goodbyes and headed home. After everything today, they were ready to shower and sleep as long as their body let them.
She smiled softly, though it dropped the moment they left. “Not ready yet… I’ll show you Andi.” She rubbed her arm lightly before going out to train with the others.

ICICLE JR. FROSTBITE (gets a redemption arc in this 'verse)
Faceclaim: Max Fieschi
cryokinesis
aesthetic: ice, snow, skeletons
likes fantasy
draws
never grew up
your annoying but lovable puppy dog friend
hates real shoes
always dresses for summer
misc.:
still has a machismo problem/fuckboy energy, but his only real friends have been artemis and (my oc) sam and it shows more than he wishes it did.
has been on his own for most of his teens, meaning he’s patently familiar with homelessness, the foster system and metahuman-phobia in wider society. in the comics he had a father figure in the wizard; in this scenario it’s more likely captain cold
really sucks at the supervillain thing but tries at it out of pure spite, having been dealt a “weakling” complex by his dad & the company he keeps
really creative with his cryokinesis outside of battle situations; “sculpts” with it often
peter pan is to cameron what alice in wonderland is to artemis (see themes of being “lost”, eternal youth/the cost of it, having to watch as the people you care about grow and move on to better situations, making enemies that were once dear friends)

Thank you so much for reading everyone, @cupcakes-and-pain has the first part here and we will both be making masterlists which we will link here after! Let us know if you want to be on a taglist!
CW: alcohol mention, drinking mention, innocent person hurt?, fighting, restraints, beating, a bit of actual whump in this one!
Legend was in a nasty and obnoxious mood. He had spent the whole day in a head wrenching hangover and had been causing little catastrophes all over the city to keep the heroes busy. They were sporadic and without a plan, and so far he had seen four of the heroes helping, trying to keep up and figure out what he was doing. Seeing them busy and running around helped with his headache.
After causing trouble in the park, he flew over to a small supermarket. Anger boiling under his skin as he wanted to scream at someone. He wasn’t like this often but when he was, people knew to get out of his way. He went inside, trying to figure out what he was going to destroy before deciding to demolish nearly half of the store itself. He didn’t want citizens getting in the way, doing a good job scaring them off. Soon shelves were falling from the mini explosions going off left and right. He was unaware of the young adult with headphones in not knowing what was happening.
Ox growled as they arrived at the store at last. Icicle trailed behind them, and out of the corner of their eye, they saw her preparing to use her powers. They didn’t want to bring her, but she insisted. Ox was fairly good at keeping Legend in check by themself, but no one’s perfect. They might need the help. And the kid had to learn sometime.
The citizens seemed to be already out, and there were next to no injuries. No surprises there. Legend didn’t like hurting citizens. It wasn’t worth going inside since they could corner him once he left the building.
Ox and Icicle were still assessing the area, however, that’s when they heard a blood-curdling scream, followed by a crash and silence. Icicle glanced at Ox, but they didn’t even think before running inside as fast as possible.
Legend was staring across the side of the store at a citizen who had been crushed under a metal shelf. He had instantly stopped the destruction and was going to check on the citizen, but when Ox came in he stopped. Suddenly becoming indifferent as to not show weakness. He took a step back to assess the situation as reporters and a cameraman tried getting into the store to find out what was going on.
Ox took in the scene, assuring it was safe to make a move, then rushed to the person’s side. They could lift the metal off easily, but they had to do it gently and slowly to make sure the citizen’s injuries wouldn’t be worsened. Once it was completely off, they threw the shelf to the side and scooped them up. The person went limp in Andi’s arms and their eyes slipped shut.
“No, no, stay with me. Stay awake.”
They rushed to the nearest exit, already calling for help and blocking out everyone else as Legend stared at them wordlessly, worrying silently. Unaware that backup was even there.
Icicle stared down Legend alone. She couldn’t even bear to look at the person, or else she’d fall into her own terrible memories. Things she tried to keep far away from her job and her life, only talking about it with fellow heroes while off-duty. “You monster.” She spat while moving forward, “You don’t even care about the lives you ruin, do you? You’re all the same.” She fired an icy blast without warning, attempting to pin Legend to the wall.
He ducked, anger bubbling back up. He rolled his eyes, grabbing a broken piece of metal. “Oh please. Like heroes are any better.“ He threw the metal at her head. “You do it all for the glory.” He stepped forward.
They fought, but it was clear from the beginning that he was so much more advanced than her. Ducking, weaving, and dodging through her attacks, Legend was the superior fighter. Yet, something kept him from hurting her despite the fact he wanted to. When he got her in a successful pin he stared down at her in fury before shoving her to the side and spreading his wings as he flew off.
He was slower getting home, sighing tiredly as he shut the door. He took off his mask and dropped it on the table. Taking a deep breaths before checking the news about the civilian. All he could find was information he already knew. In the hospital. Critical condition. Attacked by Legend. His hand shook as he threw his phone at the wall. Cursing lowly as he tried to calm down. Drinking again was a bad idea but it was the only thing his mind produced to get off the injured citizen.
Little did he know, Icicle was not content with how things were left. There was a score to be settled. A wrong to be righted. A villain to be stopped. She crept after him, keeping a safe distance. She slunk along the alleyways, trying to slip in unnoticed by the light, but she was able to follow him to where he resided.
Perfect.
Watching through the windows, she saw him stalking towards his fridge. She slipped inside. It should be easy enough to catch him from behind, when he would be bent down, rummaging through drinks. With an icy blast, just like she had tried earlier, she pinned his legs to the floor. He wasn’t fast enough for her, and she knocked him out easily with some metal from the store. She smiled to herself. No longer would he be allowed to spread evil. And no longer would the others underestimate her, once she’d be able to show them what she’d done.
When Legend woke up, he was dazed. His head was aching, not from the familiar whiskey but something different. It reminded him of a feeling he had when he first became a villain many years before. Blunt object most likely. He didn’t want to wake up but eventually pried his eyes open, frowning heavily while inspecting his surroundings
Icicle glared at him from where she was leaning up against the wall. Straightening, she walked towards him slowly. “So, here’s what’s going to happen, Legend.” She spit out his name like a curse. “You are going to be nice for once in your life, and tell me what I want to know. After that, it’s off to prison. Behave, and I won’t be forced to hurt you.” She knew some heroes would feel conflicted over torturing someone, even if they were a villain, but she was only doing what had to be done. Legend had done worse, and he would’ve continued if she hadn’t been there to do what was right.
He raised an eyebrow. “And just how old are you? 17?” He yawned, feeling his hands in cuffs behind his back. Gently rotating his wrists as best he could. Trying to feel for any slack.
She seethed. Arrogant, vile thing. She wasn’t even thinking as she slapped him, though she smiled as she did. “I wasn’t lying, Legend.” Then she punched him in the gut, as hard as she could. “And I’m 22, thanks for asking.” She said sarcastically as he grunted while turning his head away, the same cruel smile spread across her face. It was nice to see a villain in pain for once. It was even better to be the one to cause it.
“You're welcome.” He spat at her shoe.
“Behave.” She took a breath. “Tell me, what are your plans? I’m not dumb, I know you had something up your sleeve. All those random attacks today, what did they mean?”
“Wouldn’t the pretty hero like to know.” He leaned back and closed his eyes. He looked far too comfortable for what was supposed to be a threatening interrogation. “Go ahead and hit me again, doll. You’re not getting anything from me.”
That was it. Icicle was not going to put up with this. She saw red, and before he knew it, her fists collided with his stupid face. Over and over, until she could finally calm down. His jaw was quite bruised, and she didn’t know if she could continue to interrogate him now. “Can you answer my questions? Or should I wait?” Might as well ask his input. He could lie, but soon enough this interrogation would be done, so it didn’t really matter if he refused to do it for now.
He chose not to respond at all. Wanting to cuss her out but think better of it. Not because he was afraid of any consequence, but because she was younger and she was Ox’s friend. He wouldn’t stoop to that level he knew other villains would do. He let out a quiet breath. He closed his eyes again while feeling blood drip down his face to his neck.
She interpreted his silence as either an inability to talk or a simple desire to stay silent. Either way, she was fine with it. It gave her more time to develop an actual strategy for an interrogation. “Have it your way. Oh, and by the way. I have no intentions of feeding you or anything until I get through all of the questions. So have fun down here. I’ll be back.”
Legend chuckled lightly as she left. She had zero experience. He thought it would be fun. Little did he know that she was a monster waiting to be released.

I honestly feel like a broken record - Subjangle gets a lot of print here. But I just can't ignore how great Hero No Hero sounds. Subjangle really lives up to the jangle part of their name and "Pacific Standard Time" is no exception.
Hero No Hero (Los Angeles, California) are two people who have been in other bands over the years (the Bandcamp page mentions Starry Eyed Cadet, Falconet, The Churchill Garden, The Icicles, and The Blue Herons). I would say that this made me immediately think of C86 - specifically BMX Bandits. But they also sound like The Beefields, who I just recently learned about.

DPxDC Multiverse Police (pt. 2)
"You said you're going to ask questions, then can we ask questions?" Superman really tries to be polite here because, first, he was raised by Kents and, second, Jazz and the whole interdimensional police thing looks non-hostile. At least now.
The redhead nods, "Sure, ask away, I'll answer everything I can." Then, she notices Batman reaching to touch the green shield and makes a soft, warning noise, "Ah, sorry, please don't touch it. I can show how it works later, but it's not meant to keep you out. It's to keep everything else in."
Batman reluctantly puts his head down and turns to her.
"Elaborate."
The sci-fi ship in the air makes a loud hissing sound, like compressed air being released, and the bottom part of it slides open. Jazz nods in the direction of the now open ship.
"You know what they say, it's better to see it once than to hear it ten times."
There are three humanoid figures standing in there. All of them are mostly monochrome, black and white clothes, starkling white hair. They look like one adult and two children, but it's one of the kids who raises his hands to his mouth and yells so loud everyone in three miles radius is able to hear him:
"Step away from the shield, please, shit's about to get real!"
None of the heroes move, but Jazz does take a few steps away. Wonder Woman, after a moment of hesitation, follows her example.
A mechanical voice comes from the ship itself, "Countdown to the breach. Five... Four..."
On 'three,' all three of the monochrome figures step out from the ship. But, before any of the heroes have time to worry, they all float in the air, undeterred by gravity, and the ship door closes behind them.
The countdown reaches 'one'. And in the next moment, it looks like the hell breaks loose.
Countless giant vines shoot out from the portal up, reaching for the ship. True to what the red hoverboarder said, they are very much toothy, every vine splitting in two and attempting to bite the ship like some twisted idea of scissors.
None of them reach it.
The oldest of three kids claps his hands, and a wall of raging fire descends on the vines, throwing them off. In the next moment, the trio falls apart, flying through the lovecraftian mess of carnivorous plants with practiced ease, the younger ones using what looks like icicles and little storms.
"Who are they?" Batman asks Jazz, following the youngest one's - the only girl among the three - movements as she creates a strong gust of wind with a wave of her hand. None of the vines or attacks get past the shield, though.
"My siblings," the girl answers, pointing her hand at the oldest one, "That's Dan. He's the most violent. One time, he destroyed our original world, but that timeline doesn't exist anymore." She then points to the girl, "That's Dani, the youngest. She rarely joins the crew lately. And she is actually a clone, but at this point, most of us have been cloned once or twice, so it's not a big deal anymore." She then points her finger to the last one, a boy that flies past them quicker than a lightning, freezing everything he touches, "And this is Danny. He is the most powerful one. Technically, he could have just ended the fight with one Wail, but kids like to have fun. Also, they don't get to show off their elemental powers a lot, so they are mostly being dramatic for you."
She says all this so easily, just like a matter of fact, and it is at this moment that the members of JL realize the sheer power of whoever these people are. When she casually told them she bested Superman, it could have been written as a coincidence, a joke. But this?
Dan growls as one of the vines scratches his shoulder. He bleeds green, but it's only for a second before both the wound and the suit knit themselves back together. This is not just a simple accelerated healing, it almost looks like a miracle.
"Oi, brats, I'm done with show off, get out of the way!" He yells at the other two, and Danny and Dani quickly follow the order, flying closer to him and behind his back.
"Cover your ears," Jazz tells the heroes around her, and puts her helmet back on, as Dan takes a deep breath and screams.
It hurts even those who follow Jazz's advice. Batman feels like his eardrums are about to be shattered for the lack of better word. But the vines like the sonic attack even less - most of them subdue and pull back inside the portal, and the rest is dissipating like they are being burned from the inside out.
And then, just like it began, the scream - the wail - stops. The silence feels deafening after the end of it, but slowly, the sounds return, and the JL watches Danny flying down to the center of the portal. He puts his hands on the surface of it, and for a long moment, nothing happens.
And then the Pit starts closing up.
Or, no, it is Danny who absorbs it, the green flowing up through his hands, his veins that start glowing the same green. His eyes become the same toxic color, with no whites and no irises, just glowing green all over, and his hair shimmers like stars.
A few minutes later, the portal is gone, like it never even existed, and Danny plants his feet on the ground and stretches, like one would do after a good rest.
"Oof, that was nice!" He turns to the other two, who are still up in the air, "Do you want some?"
Dan flips him off before going back to the ship, but Dani floats down to him and extends her hands out.
"Sure. I like getting it from you better than from the portal itself anyway. Gives it a sparkling taste, like Sprite," she chuckles. Danny takes her hands in his, and the green glow slowly makes its way through their joined palms, now flowing through the girl’s body.
"What are they?" Flash whispers, horrified, but Jazz hears it nonetheless and turns her head to him, taking her helmet off once again.
"That is not a very appropriate question," she chastises and smiles at their faces, "But it's okay, I get it. They are ghosts. Or ectoplasmic entities, or halfas, or highly liminal beings. Or, if you want a very simplified version, they are dead kids who are enjoying their afterlife a little too much."
"Dead?" Batman zeros on the word, snapping his eyes at the girl. She smiles, and for the first time, it doesn't look human. Her teeth are too sharp, her grin too wide, and her eyes are suddenly not just teal, but neon bright and glowing, with vertical irises.
"Most of us are dead in one way or another. And I do not mean it in a metaphorical sense."
-------------------
What I'm thinking is they have a whole system going on. Amity Park generally resides in the Realms, but from time to time, they decide they want to go on a vacation, as a whole town, and they pop into existence on one of the Earths. They don't really care for the universe or dimension they end up in, as long as it is more or less peaceful (as in, no active wars going on right where they pop up), has sunlight and nice weather.
The GIW is taking care of legal things - imagine US government reaction when a whole ass town just boom, starts existing in a place where nothing existed before? So GIW does all the paperwork and discussions. Also, they are doing their basic research on the dimension they end up in, for science purposes.
I'm thinking Vlad is still a mayor of Amity. And sometimes, when a particular dimension is rather annoying, he straight up possesses the authorities because he hates official talks and couldn't care less for morals if he tried for a week. The GIW scolds him, but don't really say no. It's not a good solution to the problem, but hey, it works.
Meanwhile, Fentons are doing ectoplasmic research. They scan the dimension for troubles, basically, looking for natural portals and ghosts causing ruckus. Jazz is almost always the one who does the talking to the heroes native to the dimension - she is the one who has the most patience and social skills. Jack is in charge of transportation and Maddie is the head of biological, ecto-biological and other species research. Tucker is the tech specialist, of course - he is the sole reason why Amity has wi-fi wherever they go. Val and her father are, kind of, protectors? Security? But for the whole town, yeah. They do have GIW agents as subordinates.
Dani is not always living in Amity, she travels the Realms most of the time, but she joins when something interesting happens. Dan is, like, on an eternal probation period, GIW and Fentons keep an eye on him, but he is one of the heavy hitters for when shit goes down.
Danny is living his best life, he is mainly the protector spirit of Amity, but he also gets to protect all the dimensions from ghosts! He helps anyone and everyone - one day he is working with Val on defenses for their main ship they use to travel inside dimensions, and the next day he is joining Maddie in her studies of new species found.
Oh, I forgot Sam. She is probably the one responsible for the magic stuff - mostly everyone else focuses on scientific aspects, but she is the one to research on occult things.

SNEAKY LINK ★ k. bakugo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
bakugo should’ve been here thirty minutes ago.
it’s thirty minutes later & you’ve got snowflakes crawling up your throat. you exhale warm breaths through chapped lips & watch smoky condensate disappear into thick air. your nose is peach dappled & your cheeks are freezing.
bakugo should’ve been here an hour ago.
it’s one hour later & your tongue is frozen & your cheeks are blood drenched & drugstore lip balm feels dry against your lip. you wipe your nose & pretend the night isn’t freezing & hope to god you won’t wait forever.
“you’re still here ?”
bakugo comes in like a thief in the night. his baritone has your bones shivering, (or perhaps it’s the cold) & you look up at him with bleary eyes. katsuki bakugo looks warm. you can smell spiced latte in his breath & dark chocolate pricks at your nose. you sniffle a little & hope he doesn’t notice.
“you’re late.”
“i know,” he breathes. “had to help priscilla sort out the kids.”
it’s easy to forget pro-hero bakugo katsuki is a taken man with wife & kids. his ten fingers are always bare & calloused so it’s easy to pretend katsuki is yours. tonight however there’s snow sticking to your boot heels & you wish katsuki would stick his mouth shut too. you don’t want to hear her name. not tonight.
not any other night.
“right. when are you getting that divorce again ?”
the sound bakugo lets out is close to guttural. his eyes are everywhere but yours so you have to remind yourself that body language isn’t all it seems. he’s scratching at his nape & his adam’s apple drags up his throat but body language isn’t always as it seems. he never answers so you let the question die.
“are you ready to skate ?”
katsuki nods. for the first time tonight his eyes meet your own & all of a sudden the night’s a little warmer. he presses gloved fingers to your forehead and you squeeze your eyes shut. the burn of the leather is grueling.
“you’re freezing,”
“i wonder whose fault that is,” you mutter, but katsuki has a hearing sharper than icicles. he cups your cheeks in burning leather & worn out goat fabric. your cheeks are blood drenched & your lips are teeth bitten & even like this katsuki thinks you’re beautiful.
“don’t wait for me next time, okay ?”
“okay.”
katsuki leads you with an iron grip. his thumb brushes over your knuckles occasionally so you don’t have the heart to tell him his hold is bruising. your wrist is aching but the night is quiet so you choose to focus on other things : a meow in an alleyway. groans of dying trees. the feel of a ring wedged between gloved fingers.
oh.
you don’t dare to comment. katsuki never wears his wedding ring—at least, not around you. you tread through winter with gloveless hands so the promise ring on your right index gleams brighter than ever. katsuki brushes over it occasionally & you squeeze at your chest & try not to vomit. your vocal chords slosh against your throat like blood.
“we don’t have to go skating today.”
“too late, we’re already here.”
you rest on the bench with wobbling knees. oak wood splinters dig at your thighs but you suppose the pain is neccessary. katsuki’s eyes are trained on the lake. it’s frozen & a shade similar to blue bells but it only serves to remind you of katsuki’s wife. you’ve seen her once before & she had eyes as blue as starlight. you hope one day she’ll crash & burn like dead comets.
you wonder what katsuki is thinking about.
you’re about to call his name when he gets on one knee. your heart skips for a minute until he begins tugging off your shoe. he ties the ice skates with a firm knot & you resist the urge to thread a hand through his hair. heaven knows his honey-gold locks will sting your skin & bite you back.
he presses his lips to your knee, “you ready ?”
“i’m ready.”
pro hero bakugo katsuki is a professional at things beyond heroism. you’re a wobbling, stumbling mess & you haven’t even made it to the rink yet. your cheeks are cherry bruised. katsuki doesn’t comment & you’re not sure if you should be happy or sad because you don’t want to be called a fool but the silence is deafening. you grip his shoulders to stead yourself & katsuki hoists you up like a sack of fresh peaches.
“damn you, making me come out here when y’can’t even skate yourself.”
you smile. his mouth is sharp but his touch is gentle. his thumb glides against your lower back. “will you teach me, kats’ ?”
katsuki eyes you. he lets out a sound akin to a scoff but it might be more of a grumble. “too much of a hassle, i’d rather just carry you.”
you nod. he sighs.
bakugo is strong. he glides along the ice with your figure in his arms but he never stops to break a sweat. you want to ask him if his muscles are aching but the ice on your tongue hasn’t thawed off yet. bakugo is beautiful—occasionally he does a little spin on the rink just so you’ll giggle & clutch him a little tighter. you swear you saw him smile the third time you laughed out his name.
bakugo should’ve left thirty minutes ago.
thirty minutes later he’s still here by your side. the white chocolate mocha between your palms is burning but the cold stings at your fingertips the moment you let it go. you take two sips & offer katsuki the rest—he scoffs at you because aren’t you the one who said you needed a drink ? but takes the cup between his lips anyway. he takes two sips & presses his lips to your face. your nose is pink & your cheeks are burning.
bakugo should’ve left an hour ago.
it’s an hour later & he draws shapes on your palm through goat glove fingers. you’re back on oak-thorn bench but this time your thighs are over katsuki’s so the wood can’t pierce your skin. ‘you should’ve worn some leggings,’ he grumbles, but his thumb grazes your thighs in the shape of a starfish. you hope his touch will burn you forever.
bakugo is leaving now.
all good things must come to an end, you suppose, but tears stream down your face like new waters. katsuki rolls his eyes. he hates it when you get like this & he hates that he makes you get like this & he hates that—
“fucking hell, just get over here.”
you dive into his arms & for the third time tonight bakugo rolls his eyes. you’re shaking & hes not sure if it’s a shiver due to cold or a quaking due to tears. your knees are wobbly so he tightens his hold on your hips & prays your legs won’t give out. heaven knows his arms are already aching.
“hey, look at me.”
there’s mascara smeared across your cheeks & your lips are swollen purple. your nose is runny & crystal frozen & bakugo thinks you’re absolutely beautiful.
“what are you crying for ?”
you’re crying even harder now so bakugo mentally slaps himself. “y/n, look at me.”
& you do. he cups your cheeks with gloved palms & kisses your nose, cheek, forehead. his mouth traces everywhere but your lips.
it’s always everywhere but your lips.
but you don’t complain, you never do. you don’t complain because in your head katsuki’s lips meet your own & your mouths bleed into each other’s forever. in your head, katsuki hugs you tight & shields you from the evening snow. in your head, katsuki is yours & you are his undoubtedly.
“same time next week ?”
not all dreams come true but with enough belief you know that yours will manifest. your chest is tight & you hope your heart won’t bleed forever.
“always. and next time, katsuki ?”
“what is it ?”
“don’t be an hour late.”

If you're cold, he's Cold. Let him in. Let him in.
Design notes:
Based on a shrike, a.k.a. "the butcher bird"
As a part of Slayer's psyche, represents the Call of the Void + Ruthlessness
Constantly exhaling frost
The red piping resembles the handle of the Pristine blade
High collar and cloak hides his neck and face; symbolic of not being vulnerable and not showing emotion. While the deep v neck exposes his vital organs to danger (and also look sexy because y'gotta)
Thigh-highs for the femme fatale vibe and to be matchy-matchy with his counterpart, Paranoid
Everything is drooping, static like icicles
Despite its snow white hue, his cape is greasy and worn thin
Inspirations: Sephiroth, Boa Hancock, vampire goth but much simpler
Tall and looming but actually rather powerless if you don't let his shittalk sway you.
His toned muscles are only for show; this chump refuses to lift with his knees. Hero could easily suplex him.
The devs were right when they said my favourite edgelord would make a good tumblr sexyman

ghosts in the leaves // worst wolverine x reader
summary: you’ve been stuck in the void for years, and logan doesn’t even seem to care.
one shot: ANGST, then fluff of course. I love a sadass story with a happy ending. swearing lol. suggestive material. This is my favorite one I’ve written so far. Enjoy!!
word count: 1k+
masterlist
He was too busy drinking to notice your silent pleading.
You and Logan sat against the rocky wall of your hideout base. The rest of the group of forgotten heroes were planning the final showdown with Cassandra in the next room over.
They left the two of you alone, noticing the tension growing more and more intense. Logan tried to protest, but they shut him out. He wouldn’t stop grumbling to himself about it. That, you noted, hadn’t changed about him.
Wade would occasionally poke his head out from behind the wall, hoping the reunited couple would get back together already. He loved jumping into other peoples business, you noticed. He seemed like a troublemaker.
Johnny would’ve really loved this guy.
You still didn’t understand why Logan was refusing to talk to you. He looked like hell, but so did you. Did he even care?
You just wanted to wipe the blood from his suit and the dirt from his face. Tell him about the hell you’ve been through down here. Ask him about the hell he’s been through back home.
But Logan would rather gargle piss than talk to you at all. That, you were beginning to realize.
He wouldn’t even look you in the eye. He only looked at you when he first arrived. That familiar glow returned to him at that moment. You thought you saw the love of your life return to you right then and there, eyes and mouth wide open. But by the time you ran over to him, throwing your arms around his body, tears streaming down your face, he was pushing you off him and opening a bottle of bourbon.
You could see him fighting the urge to open another one. He balanced it on his hand, and spun the bottle on the floor like it was a game. Guess he won by the fake smile on his face as he placed the lukewarm drink to his lips.
“Are you going to talk to me? Or are you just going to keep drinking?”
He picked up another glass after downing the last one, licking his lips. “I don’t talk to ghosts.”
Your stomach dropped, like a stone in a pond. Your lips fell, a weight dragging them down. “Logan-”
His fists balled up, face turning red. “Don’t fucking say my name.” All the venom leaking from his mouth seemed to form a weapon meant for himself, but he kept aiming it straight at you. “Just don't.”
You held your head high. “Why not?”
“Because,” he took a long drink before continuing. “Your voice is drilling into my skull, that’s why. I don’t talk to ghosts and they don’t talk to me.” Logan shifted his body, facing away from you.
You closed your mouth, letting the words die inside. Instead, you watched the leaves fall from beside the open door.
The trees here never changed. They were stuck in a perpetual autumn. It was haunting to look at. You forgot there were other seasons sometimes. You missed the snow in winter. Icicles hanging from the roof of Xavier’s mansion. You missed the spring flowers and that early summer rain. All you had was autumn, and Logan had the rest. He didn’t seem to like any of it at all anymore.
The Logan you once knew and loved, if he saw you alive and well, he’d come running to you, holding you tight, whispering words of comfort.
This Logan though…He was tired. And angry. So angry. Grief radiated off every inch of him. It almost became a superpower on its own. You weren’t a stranger to that power. He kept you at a distance too, back when you first met.
You had the outline of his back memorized like the back of your hand. This was your Logan. He was just jaded now. Years of believing that you were dead and that he had failed not only his friends and family, but you, the most important person in the world to him, had changed him.
Down here, your one goal was to reach him. Well, you had accomplished that. But not in the way you had wished.
“If there’s any ghosts here, it’s you.” You said it without looking at him either. Just watched the leaves fall.
Logan shut his eyes tight, the veins in his neck growing stronger. His jaw loosened, the bourbon missing his mouth and spilling all over. “Fuck!” He cursed himself.
“Did someone wet the bed again?” Wade's red head popped its way into the room. “Jesus, you two look like you fucked with the lights off. Does this place even have lights? And have you made up yet? I’m sick and tired of this meeting and I wanna join in.”
He sure knew how to make an entrance. It was almost amazing how annoying he was. Again, Johnny and him would’ve gotten along. But Cassandra got to him first.
“Turn around and walk back in there before I pop that tomato of a fucking head of yours.” Logan spat, taking another swig.
Wade gasped, putting his gloved hand to his mouth. “I’d let you pop just about anything, Wolverine.” Before he could say anything more intrusive, Blade's hand grabbed his head, pulling him back behind the wall. Wade still kept ranting all the way back into the other room.
“I’m glad you have a friend.” You tried, shifting uncomfortably in your super suit. “I wouldn’t of made it if it wasn’t for my friends down here.”
And the thought of you. You wanted to finish with that.
“He’s not my friend.”
“Seems like he’s your friend.”
He shook his head, leaning against a rocky pillar. He wanted to keep the distance between you and him as far as possible. You were going to keep running towards him anyways.
“As soon as I arrived it was too late.” You started. “They were all dead.” You paused, letting the grief settle in. Logan sat there as still as a ghost. “I was going to find you before you found them. I'm so sorry you had to see them like that.” You let the tears flow this time. “But then the TVA- they got me. Said I killed one of their own a few days prior. Which is bullshit. But they didn’t care, and they sent me here. I’ve been trying to get back to you ever since. I'm sorry, Logan.”
It happened as quickly as he drank those bottles. He got up, wobbled a bit as he stood, and walked out the door, crushing autumn leaves under his feet.
The silence he left behind was worse than his venom.
Wade popped his head back in, the other four following as well. “We did it! Operation, Stealing Cassandra’s Wii hidden underneath their bed, is underway!”
“What’s under Cassandra’s bed?” Elektra questioned.
“Oh, all kinds of stuff.” He started counting on his fingers. “Video games, velveeta cheese, a bunch of those for some reason. Cowboy hats, pixie sticks, a signed dvd of The Green Lantern. Truly an evil monster, my god.”
Gambit leaned over to Laura. “Do you think one of my missing cards could be hidden under there?”
Laura ignored him, walking over to you, noticing your wet, red eyes. “Hey, are you okay? Where’s Logan?”
“I’d like to know the answer to that question too, Laura.”
Logan’s daughter nodded, squeezing your shoulder before going to look for the shadow of her father.
It was growing dark now. Night was here and all you wanted was to sleep. Maybe you’d wake up in Logan’s arms again and he’d pepper light kisses across your face, taking all those years without him away. Like they never even happened. Like you never lost anything or anyone.
It was still night out when you woke up. Wade's snores were keeping everyone else up, so they moved him outside. You walked by him as he was passed out in a pile of leaves, making your way towards the burning campfire.
Logan sat slumped over the smoke, chin cradled to his chest. You could’ve sworn you saw tears disappearing into the fire. But you didn’t want his dagger like words again, so you turned back around.
And then you heard your name.
It was whispered so softly, like a strong wind. You waited a few more beats, hoping to hear it again. And you did. His voice was strained. Calloused over like he had said your name so many times before that it hurt so bad every time you never said his name back.
But you did this time.
“Yes, Logan?”
“I was just thinking-” His voice was wavering, like he was on a tightrope, wondering when he’d fall off. “I was thinking about your birthday. I’ve missed so many of them.”
Your eyes glazed over, a well of spring water washing away the autumn you still adored. Before you could run to him, he was already there. Strong arms found their way around you. Those lips kissed every inch of your face. It was like returning home again.
“I’m so fucking sorry.” He was barely keeping it together. “I thought you were dead. And then I saw you and all I saw was another failure. I’ve failed you. You’ve been trapped here. And I didn't come to save you. All I did was punish you.”
“It’s okay.” You held him tight, but he held you tighter. “You didn’t know. You had to go on thinking everyone you loved was dead. Logan, you didn’t deserve that.”
He held your head, finally meeting your eyes with his own. “I love you.” He rarely said it. But he didn’t have to. You always knew. “And I’m sorry.”
“I love you too.”
“I’ll be sorry forever.”
“Then I will be too.”
A mix of sorrow and happiness clung to his face. He laughed, as if he was laughing for the first time. “You’re here. You’re not a ghost. I’m not a ghost.”

You were only supposed to fix his sword.
It started as a favor—you and him weren’t really friends but there weren’t many older kids at camp and word got out that the steel he brought cost him his quest, or so he says. Luke Castellan came back from San Francisco wanting more. A hero like him believed he only deserved the best, and who were you to argue? You were set on giving him just that, the best welder out of all of your siblings—you could be put to the test and do something remarkable for someone who might actually have a chance of being more than a forgotten memory to your godrents.
You’re so warm. He can’t get over it. Were all children of Hephaestus born with a fire to stoke?
Your hands feel like fire under his grasp as he leads you to a forest clearing and you stumble—it’s hard to tell where you’re going when it’s dark like this but Luke says he won’t let you fall. He has your arms bound at your waist and perhaps you can’t fall if he isn’t planning on letting go.
“C’mon. Right up there,” he mumbles, tapping your hip with a cold hand and leading you onto a manmade ledge in the middle of the empty space. Lanterns line the floor, dimly lit flames swaying in the brisk night air, and he’s still gentle in the way he helps you sit properly on the stone.
He almost doesn’t want to do this.
“Luke? Do we have to do this?” you hesitate, laying back onto the smooth surface as he ties your limbs down with rope from the docks. The fibers rub your wrists and ankles raw, and his eyes almost glow at the sight of you struggling.
His new toy sits in a scabbard attached to his belt. Luke undoes the clasp, propping Backbiter against the wall of the platform near his knee and he starts to pace, muttering something under his breath, “Of course we do. It’s the only way—you need to understand,” Luke says hoarsely, “Tell me you understand.”
You nod. It’s not enough for him.
“TELL ME!” he roars, spit flying onto your cheek as he stands over you, aggressively shaking the front of your orange t-shirt. It was a late night—the sunlight of the summer solstice extending past dinner. No one’s going to save you out here. Luke only has a few hours to get this timing right, and you’re his only shot at this.
“I-I understand. I’ve just never seen you this mad before…” you whimper, pushing your head back against the rock to put some distance between you and the son of Hermes.
“M’not mad,” he exhales, patting your head like one does a child, “I just need to do this. Say it’s okay.” A question bubbles up your throat, but before you can ask, he’s mounted himself onto your spread legs, pushing up the cotton of your drawstring skirt. Between fluttering eyelashes, you think you see him lick his lips—cold fingers traveling up the expanse of your thighs despite your hesitant cries, “Yes but Luke…I…I’ve never…please....”
“The less you struggle, the easier this will be. I’ll take care of you.”
You nod slowly. Goosebumps ravage your body before he does, soon probing past the floral print of your underwear as he presses his icicles for fingers into your heat, stretching, searching for something deep within you until you cry out, “Help!”
Luke smirks, having you writhing in the palm of his hand and gushing from your cunt at the foreign feeling. You’re a pretty one, a lucky find hidden away in the soot and steel of the armory. Always warm and kind, keeping company with your creations. You’re perfect, and exactly what Kronos wanted. A bright and innocent soul to turn the tides of his fate.
Everything is going to plan—he thrusts another finger into your cunt, spreading you wide and reveling at how warm you feel when he’s knuckle deep. Your mouth is agape in a pitiful moan as you try to tuck your face into your shoulder, feeling the heat pool at the bottom of your belly the more he curls his digits, twisting and turning until your eyes roll.
“Almost ready. Keep it coming, pretty girl. You’re the best, you know that?” he breathes, tracing his fingers over nipples that peak underneath the fabric of standard-issue orange on your chest. The color is acrid against the color of your skin—too bright of a reminder of why Luke has to make a deal with the devil.
Your eyes widen at the feeling of his thick shaft tapping against your clit almost like someone knocking to be let in. Luke’s not asking for permission though—nothing will stop him from his mission to the Titan. You’ve just never gone this far, inexperience making your legs shake when he nudges them further, “I don’t….” You don’t want this, you want to say, and if you did…not like this.
His eyes are almost black in this light, staring down at you and waiting for you to fight back and say something to ruin his night.
He spears himself into you, straight to the hilt. You could swear you feel him in your lungs. Watching you choke on air with an expressionless gaze, Luke’s thumb rubs away the tear that rolls down your cheek. You decide to watch the stars instead, body jolting at his insistence as you sob into his ear, lips searing against his neck in a broken sound.
“I’m so sorry,” he mutters, tucking himself into your neck as he continues to slide in and out of your throbbing pussy, “So so sorry. Gonna make it better, okay?” The searing pain fades as he huffs into your skin, rutting into you like a sick dog. Blood mixes with your arousal squelching around his length. His cock is fatter than it is long, a heavy, pulsing thing that presses deep into your insides. Luke lets a moan slip past his lips, echoing your whines of desperation at the sensations your body is being put through. He can’t help it—you’re too good in all senses of the word. He bites down on your shoulder, smiling at the sound of your staggered wail.
The pleasure makes your brain go fuzzy, and guilt pulls at your core as you clench around him, unaware of what comes next, “Shit, you’re so tight. Cum for me. You have to.”
You don’t know what to say—you can’t string your feelings into a sentence, too wrecked by his cockhead bumping against your g-spot when he tilts his hips at just the right angle.
“I think I’m…No!” you panic at the rush of adrenaline racing through your body—bearing down and tensing and Luke is shushing you, still piercing through your belly as he reaches down and harshly rubs at your clit. You let go—your body is on fire and it’s all his fault. This is all his fault—he grabs your chin, “You like that? Feels good hmm? Told you,” he grits, pushing air through his teeth as he continues to rock into your warmth.
You’re boneless by the time he’s done and belly full of his essence—the shine of the moon reflecting in your eyes and Luke knows now that it is time. He tucks himself back into his shorts, picking up Backbiter from the ground and tracing it’s perfectly crafted edge against the soft of your stomach.
“Is it over? You said the sword would work after…” The words die out as you shiver, an unfocused gaze meeting Luke’s dark one, void of any emotion and desperation you saw on the boy that begged for your services weeks prior.
“Gods, you have terrible timing. For what it’s worth, I really am sorry.”
He sinks the blade into you, straight to the hilt. The feeling is almost familiar—it’s so deep that it’s come out the other side, knocking against stone. Blood spills from your wound, the ichor spiraling and spreading into your best creation that no one will even know was yours—forging a weapon of mass destruction as you choke out your last breaths.
Luke sighs, shooting a prayer up into the stars for your soul. If you’re listening, he hopes you know he’s grateful you kept him warm.

younger
541 words, jegulus
His brother’s best friend treated him like a younger brother too. It was annoying, because Regulus already had one older brother whom he’d never even asked for in the first place. (Because when he was born, did he ever get the choice of the family he was born to? No.) He already had Sirius, and now James was teasing him in corridors and offering him left-over snacks and ruffling his hair as if they were also brothers, just because Sirius considered he and James to be brothers even when they weren’t related! Regulus was Sirius’s actual brother, and James was Sirius’s fake brother, which clearly meant that Regulus and James weren’t brothers! They didn’t even have to be friends.
It was awful, the way James would coo, “Aw, look at your little baby face!” when Regulus was only one year younger than him. Or he’d roll his eyes, “You wouldn’t understand, you’re too young,” and Regulus would fume internally, knocking over chairs within the room that was his body, raging about the way James Potter thought Regulus was his younger brother. It was disgusting.
Why did James have to so clearly clarify to Regulus, “I think of you in the same way that I’d think of anyone younger than me, you’re my responsibility,” and then he’d laugh too hard, and Regulus would think why? Did James have a hero complex? He always seemed to be reminding Regulus, “You’re younger than me,” even though they were both very aware of that fact.
What if Regulus was the same age as James? Would that make him act more normal? Regulus didn’t get it, and he got a lot of things, so this really irritated him: the fact that he couldn’t understand why it was such a big deal to James that they had an age difference of one year. He was fifteen, James was sixteen, what was the problem?
It was weird, to think that James would think of him as a younger brother. That felt like crossing a line somewhere in his mind, tangling thoughts that should never be tangled. Loud and clear, he wanted to yell at James, We’re not brothers! That would be weird, so why was James making things weird?
There were too many questions, and Regulus had no answers. All he knew was that the idea of James thinking of him as a younger brother twisted his gut in the most awkward way, made it push into his stomach like an unwanted invasion, like the blade of a knife twisting into him before freezing in place like an icicle, it was cold, the way James thought of him as an immature kid, it was swallowing ice cubes that turned his organs blue, it was injecting nitrogen into his veins and watching his blood bubble, hissing and steaming as warmth met glacial cold and evaporated away from him, he’d be bloodless, and James would think of him as a newborn baby, “Welcome to this world, Reggie!”
If that happened, it would drive an icepick through Regulus’s vocal cords and render him silent. James thought of him as a younger brother, and Regulus thought of James as… no one. No one, therefore James would never be able to affect him.

An Offer You Can't Refuse- Part 2
Part 1
Hero woke up to the feeling of being watched. The weight over their eyes had been lifted, and their restraints had been removed as well, judging by how they were sprawled out in bed. Bed? This bed felt much bigger and softer than their own bed. The feeling of being watched grew stronger. Who cared whose bed it was- who was watching them!? Hero’s eyes snapped open, darting around the room until they landed on- oh. Right. Them. That. This.
“Good morning, Hero,” Supervillain said softly, “I must admit, you slept so long I was worried they had overdosed you, but you seem to be alright. That’s good.”
Alright? Alright!? What about this was alright!?
“Do you often make a habit of watching people sleeping?” Hero blurted.
Did they really just say that!? Hero’s heart hammered in their chest. This was Supervillain they were talking about- one false move and they were dead. No, scratch that, death would be a mercy- surely someone like Supervillain was an expert at dishing out fates worse than death-
Supervillain just chuckled.
“No,” they said, “but after eighteen hours and no sign of you waking, I did want to check up on you. That couldn’t have all been the drugs, I’d wager. Were you overworking yourself before you were abducted?”
“Eighteen-” Hero started.
“Technically twenty-five if we’re being specific,” Supervillain said, “your little snores are quite cute, and did you know you sleep-talk?”
Hero blushed in embarrassment. More than flustered, they felt confused. Supervillain had bought them for… however much they paid for them (Hero couldn’t quite remember) and now they were waking up in a lavish bed while the mastermind made small-talk about the whole thing?
“Are you hungry?” Supervillain prompted.
“Confused.” Hero admitted.
Hero’s stomach didn’t like that answer, and it growled loudly in protest. Supervillain smiled knowingly.
“I’ll have my chef make you something,” they said, getting up, “It would be in your best interest not to leave this room.”
Supervillain left the bedroom, closing the door behind them. Hero waited until their footsteps faded into silence. They sprung out of bed and tried the door. Locked, of course. Hero formed a small icicle in their hand and started to pick the lock. After a couple seconds of picking, the icicle snapped in two. Right, well, time for something more aggressive then. Hero forced the door down with a blast of ice. Stepping over the now-warped door, they looked around for the nearest exit. They ran down a hallway and past a few different doors, before reaching a grand staircase. They checked both ways for signs of Supervillain, then descended the stairs at a breakneck pace.
They realized, as they were rushing to freedom, that they weren’t wearing any shoes. In fact, their entire suit had been replaced by silk sleepwear. Oh well, they’d just have to make a new one when they got out of here. Their hand was on the front doorknob when a rough force yanked them backwards.
Hero yelped in surprise. They craned their neck to see a large, muscular person behind them. They had an earpiece and a small microphone hooked up to them.
“Got ‘em,” they said, “taking them back now.”
The henchman started to drag Hero back by the arm.
“Hey, let me go!” Hero shouted, forming cold energy in their hand and hurling a snowball at the henchman.
“Gah- why you-!”
In shock from getting a snowball to the face, the henchman had let go of Hero, who was now making another run for it.
“C’mere you-”
Hero turned, anger burning in their eyes. If it was a fight this bozo wanted, it was a fight they were going to get. And Hero was going to win.

June of Doom Day #16
"At least it can't get any worse." | Stranded | Setback |
June Of Doom Prompt List @juneofdoom
"So you're saying we're entirely cut off from them?"
Hero nodded, pulling their coat tighter around them. "The antenna's down, we won't be able to get a message through until the storm passes."
"Right. And how long to snowstorms last out here?"
"Anywhere between a few hours to a few days." Hero was shivering as they checked their watch. "We need to be prepared to be here for the rest of the week."
Villain let out a slow breath, rubbing their eyes. "Got it. So I'm stuck here with you two morons for possibly several days. This is fantastic."
Supervillain poked their head out of the doorway to an adjacent room. "But we've got enough food to last us months, and several electricity generators, so we should be fine!"
"Well," Villain grumbled. "At least it can't get any worse."
"Oh it definitely can!" Supervillain replied in the same excited tone. "The heaters don't work so well, so we will have to share a bed to keep warm if this lasts until nightfall."
Villain's groan was loud enough to knock down icicles forming outside.
