KimoNovember Day 20: while looking through my pile of Ichiroya/Kimonotte stuff, I noticed this obi and kimono pair well together for a jimi coordinate (probably wearable for someone in their 60s or 70s?). I brightened it a little with the obijime but otherwise stuck to a jimi colour combination.

I am in love with my November themed outfit: this kimono with beautiful fiery maple leaves was my last Ichiroya order before they closed their shop...
With the corona going around, I haven’t been able to go out in kimono in a while. So I have been doing monthly model dressing only for the last few months. This outfit was far too pretty I had to take pics before taking it down :)

It's sad news that the great kimono on-line store Ichiroya will close it's business permanently at the end of July, 2020. Ichiroya has wonderfully served it's customers for about 20 years, and has during that time been considered by kimono lovers as the premier website to obtain kimono treasures. Kudos to all the staff at Ichiroya for their exemplary, honest work over these many years

The first ever kimono ensemble I bought, and I bought it from Ichiroya, who since became my favourite kimono store. Sadly, they will be closing by the end of July 2020.

My last @kimonotteichiroya order... the end of an era. Thank you to everyone at #Ichiroya for two decades of incredible, friendly, helpful service. You will be missed! ❤❤❤👘👘👘 (at Côte Saint-Luc, Quebec) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBbMlxygAAd/?igshid=1ag4l2aumtmug

KimoNovember Day 8: dug out an obi I had ordered from Ichiroya before they closed. Not a colour scheme I wear or pair often, but the overall effect is better than I expected!

I’m not sure this can labeled as kofurisode, but I also don’t have a good source to point at for when kofuri was a thing. 🤔 73cm sleeve drop is pretty average sleeve drop for pre WWII non-furisode kimono tho.
Koikishu’s Fantasy Kimono Tansu: Kofurisode
Motifs: Fan, Tsuzumi
Seasonality: Season-less
Sleeve Length: 73 cm
Background Color: HTML code (A83460)

Happy Hina Matsuri Day! Every March 3 a special holiday to celebrate the growth, happiness, and prosperity of young girls. Also known as Girls' Day, this unique festival is celebrated differently depending on the region of Japan you're in, but most customs will include some similar features, like a set of cute dolls, peach flower decorations, as well as festive food such as hina-arare (multi-colored rice crackers) and chirashizushi (sliced raw fish with rice). This is my take on Hina Matsuri dolls. I used pieces of silk from real kimono which were once given out by Ichiroya to give them a vintage feel :) #hinamatsuri #girls #girlspower #japanesecraft #kanzashi (w: Warsaw, Poland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CL9Zh4DAiHb/?igshid=dierllqabgtq
