Hashiras/Pillars reacting to a [Y/N] having three husband's (like uzui, but inverse u got lol)
Ft. Giyuu and Sanemi (I'll probably do more after!)
The reader here is Gender Neutral, Enjoy! ;)
yes I got u 3 hubbies hehe
Satoshi is your calmest husband, the serious one, but kind and patient. He's probably the one who does all the housework while you work as Hashira. (malewife supremacy)
Eiji is your loudest husband, the easily irritable one, but is a crybaby inside. He always offers to accompany you on your travels. (Outside he's: idc Inside he's: pls [y/n] don't leave me)
Ichiro is your most affectionate husband, probably the most emotional one too. He is always the first one to run towards you whenever you come home. ( He and Eiji sometimes cry together because they miss you)
In your last mission, you had to travel north after a report about a demon terrorizing the town, not much later you have been summoned by master Ubuyashiki to a Pillars meeting. Obviously you go without complaining, but you're already missing your husbands, just imagining getting home and being cuddled by the three melt your heart. It's been a long 5 weeks.
In the meeting, after master Ubuyashiki appears and y'all bow, everyone starts reporting they missions, and when it was your turn...
The suddenly crash in your left and loud voices, make you silent. Looking in that direction you see your three husbands, Ichigo and Eiji screaming in your direction and Satoshi trying everything to stop them.
Well, that's was unexpected.
- Giyuu was just staring at the floor after reporting, waiting for the meeting finish.
- The loud noise got him scared for a second.
- Looking at the commotion, he noticed three unknown people, and you walking towards them after excusing yourself.
- At first he thought they are you friends or family.
- Seeing you kissing the forehead of the crying one, he thinks that probably your husband and your brothers
- But then you caress the face of one them, and holds the hand of another crying one.
- Giyuu is lost
"Seems you have company [Y/N], who are?" Master Ubuyashiki asks after his daughters describe the scene to him.
"These are my husband master" You answer.
"We apologize for the sudden intrusion master Ubuyashiki, and for the wall"
"Wall?" Giyuu ask himself.
- He notices the huge hole made in the wall by your husbands
- Giyuu is even more lost now, not only did he find out you have THREE husbands, they managed to break down a wall in seconds after hearing your name.
- After the meeting, he ends up finding you and your husbands, Satoshi once more is apologizing for interrupting.
- In the end, Giyuu ends up joining you to eat (Ichigo insist in giving him some Ohagi)
- WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK?
- Just some strange people invaded the Hashira Meeting AND interrupt Master Ubuyashiki? Sanemi is PISSED.
- After the meeting he goes after you and your husbands.
- He finds you outside the Ubuyashiki mansion talking, you seem to be scolding two of them.
- He walks towards you with heavy steps, and you seem to listen to him.
"Ah, hey Shinazugawa"
"Are you some kind of idiot?"
"What? - You ask"
"Who do you think you are to let these people walking in the Master Mansion?"
"Why do you care? We already apologized to master Ubuyashiki and paid for the broken wall. - You say defending your husbands. One of them growls in Sanemi's direction"
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT, YOU CAN'T JUST LET THEM COME AND INTERRUPT A MEETING"
- Sanemi started screaming at you, at your husbands and even the rock y'all are near.
- And you four just stay there listing here talking about whatever he's talking. Probably about "your stupidity" and "the stupidity of your husbands" and "and why Eiji shouldn't use an ax to break a wall".
- He is basically screaming about you and your husbands.
"AND THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULDN'T LEAVE-" Your interrupt him, sighing tired.
"Shinazugawa if you want to be the fourth husband, just ask okay?"
- he stops and only stares at you.
- Yup, you broke him.
I've had this idea for a while, it didn't turn out the way I wanted, but I will try again someday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And don't worry! I will make another Hashira/Pillars and [Y/N] soon!
Hope you enjoyed! ^^

ZEcret Santa Fic
To: @oobi-oobi
From: @classycorgiposts
Prompt: The cast of 999 keeping up with each other after the events of the game
Me: First text to make sure I have everyone’s number.
Clover Field: Got it!
Light Field: Received
Junpei Temyouji: No issues here
Ichiro: Here
Lotus shot Seven a withering look from the seat next to him. “I *know* I have yours, idiot.”
“Yeah yeah, my bad.” He rolled his eyes.
Me: Good. Is everyone doing ok? Big lug and I are at the airport waiting on the flight now
Clover: lmao
Clover: All good here! Light and I will be getting back home soon
Lotus: Got it. Stay safe, and like that Alice woman said, if anything weird at all happens, get in touch
Junpei: Ok mom
Lotus: I’m serious
Junpei: allright, I got it
——————————————-
The moment Hazuki stepped off the plane and saw her daughters, it was like a valve opened and the turbulent emotions she’d been experiencing since the Nonary Game came pouring out, breaking her cool demeanor she’d put on for the others. Seven watched as she burst into tears and ran across the lobby, pushing her way through the crowd towards her daughters, who barreled into her arms, sobbing with joy in return.
Standing off to the side so as not to interrupt the moment, Seven pulled out his phone.
Seven: Back in Japan. Hazuki’s girls met us here- all good
Responses came within moments.
Light F.: Wonderful news.
Clover F.: SEND PICS
Junpei T.: Awesome, good to hear
Clover F.: I SAID SEND PICS
——————————————-
Sitting on the couch in his apartment’s living room, Junpei’s leg bounced up and down nervously as he watched a TV special on the news about the arrest of Cradle Pharmaceuticals CEO and the liquidation of the company. His apartment felt emptier than it had before.
Me: You guys see the news?
Snake: Listening to the report as we speak.
Seven: Took longer than it should have for this to have gone public. Cradle run hospitals here in Japan have been in disarray, they’re almost certainly gonna shut down.
Since his return home, he’d felt restless and anxious. A nervous energy coursed through him at all times with no outlet. Kanny and Aoi were gone, and all the others he could talk to about the Nonary Game were far away.
Junpei: Any leads on them yet?
Seven: I already told you I’d let you know as soon I found something, calm down kid
Seven: I’m doing the best I can, but without some kind of lead to follow, it’s near impossible. Akane and Aoi completely took themselves off the map
Sighing, Junpei continued watching the news. He needed to do something. Anything.
——————————————-
Running his hands along the desk in his study, Light felt the sounds and vibrations of the small army of groundskeepers working on maintaining the gardens and forest outside their family’s manor.
“So what’s going on?” Lotus’s voice came over the phone. “It’s unusual for you to need help,”
“So you say. I apologize again for the sudden call, but it’s our mother. Put frankly…she’s become tyrannical.” Light sighed. “She’s kept a close eye on us both since my accident as a child of course, but since we’ve returned home, Clover and I haven’t had a moment’s peace. We’re hardly ever allowed to leave the house, and her paranoia over something happening to us again grows day by day. The kicker is that we’re even particularly close emotionally.”
“Hmm. Let me talk to her.” Lotus declared after a moment’s thought. “Mother to mother.”
———————————————
“Your mom did what!?” Junpei said in disbelief. Sitting up in bed, he’d been awakened by a sudden call from Clover, groggily listening as she angrily vented on the phone.
“Yeah, bodyguards! How insane is that!? My brother tried talking to my mom as his soon a bunch about letting us be even a *bit* independent, but nothing worked, and there was no way she was gonna listen to me. But then Lotus tried to talk to her and she went completely ballistic, ranting about ‘dangerous strangers’ and us just being stupid kids!”
A sudden notification while she was ranting caused Junpei’s head to swim.
“Holy shit…I just got a huge amount of money sent to my bank account!
“What?” Clover gasped. “You think…it’s them? It’s gotta be, right?”
Junpei’s mind raced. “Hang on- I’ve got an idea.”
———————————————
Seven stood in his office with Junpei on speaker, in front of a cork board with countless photos, cut outs of internet articles, and maps connected by bits of string. It might’ve been cliche, but damn if it didn’t help with seeing the big picture from pieces of a case.
“You getting close to their estate?” He asked.
“Yeah, almost there. You know, I was really confident about this at first, but I’ve been getting nervous the closer I get. My palms are all sweaty.”
Junpei was on his way to the Field estate in a car he’d bought with the large amount of money that had been mysteriously deposited into his bank account from an unknown source.
“Man, I still feel weird about helpin’ with this too…” Seven mumbled halfheartedly. “But their mom’s basically holdin’ them hostage.”
“Right.” Junpei’s voice hardened. “
“If they manage to slip out and follow the route we planned, that is.
“They will.” Junpei’s voice grew confident. “They’ve got this.”
———————————————
Sprinting through the carefully tended forest in the pitch black of night, leading her brother and Junpei by the hand, Clover still couldn’t help but laugh with elation. The confused shouts of the bodyguards tearing apart the estate they’d managed to give the slip after days of careful planning with Junpei, Lotus, and Seven were incredibly satisfying.
She left behind a cutting note for their mother, so at least she’d know why they left, and that it was extremely of their own accord this time. The money Junpei had randomly received was a lead- one that Lotus and Seven could follow to the Kurashiki siblings. They’d meet with Junpei, hitch a flight to Japan to reunite, and then…Clover didn’t know. But it was a future full of possibility.
“Clover, I hear a vehicle.” Light said. “Is that him?”
A moment later, Clover heard the sound of tires. Just as they exited the dense forest behind their estate on a remote back road, a sedan screeched up the back road, and disheveled Junpei threw open the doors. “Holy shit, it actually worked- you got out.”
“Let’s talk later!” Helping Light into the back seat, Clover hopped into the passenger seat, quickly hugged Junpei, then threw on her seat belt.
“We can catch up shortly.” Light said, hardly out of breath. “For now, we should make ourselves scarce.”
“On it!” Junpei stepped down on the accelerator, and they were off. “I’m still getting used to this car, so sorry if the ride’s bumpy! I haven’t had to drive in a while!”
“I’m sure it can’t be any worse then Clover’s driving back in Nevada.” Light said wryly, a bittersweet expression on his face as they got further and further from home. Junpei may have brought up the plan for them to run away, but Light had been the one who heavily endorsed it and planned it out. It had been a necceasry evil, for him and Clover both.
“Rude!” Clover grinned. The adrenaline of escaping from the prison of her home still coursing through her, Clover stuck her head out the window and laughed, the wind blowing on her and the trees passing by in a blur.
A future of freedom, of searching for the truth with the only people she trusted, was in sight.

I don’t like where this is going!
An Email? Sorry I've been pre-occupied with the funeral I didn't get to look at it.
Yeah same here, pretty busy with the fashion trends and I usually get a lot of emails so I didn't get to look.
I did read it, sounds more like one of those underground journalist that or a cult, I rather stay out of it.
I don't go on the computer as often so I didn't see that email, sorry...
Sorry didn't read them, besides as a mangaka I don't read mails like those because they waste time for me to not draw manga!
I did check but it had this link to a location; my husband felt it wasn't safe to go there so I didn't.
I'm... not very good with computers and neither is Emi, so I decided to delete it.
Hey... Tenmei? You good with this computer stuff, yeah? Can you tell us more about what's going on?
...
...
Hey... why are you guys so quiet? Is it bad?
...Well, the thing is that it wasn't just me, my wife and daughter but our whole family got this email even my own parents who I haven't talk with in a decade; it linked to a location which Harumi decided to check.
Yeah, I did go and went to see what was going on and seems there were other people there too which I did sneak into the back and well...
*shows a photo* I found this...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whoa, what... what are those things?
Looks to be helmets but what do they do?
I'm not sure, all I know is that they gave these helmets to those that enter, along with some food and drinks and handed them a disc, I didn't stick around for too long so I'm not sure what they...
Yeah, if anything it sounds like it's one of those cults that trick people into signing things and lose everything, I would recommend you all to delete the email if you can.
But what about the 'truth of Hope's Peak' thing? Are you saying that those guys are lying...?
N-No, I'm not saying that; all I'm saying is that this is far too convenient and I think it's better we stay away from there.
Stay away?! But the email, it's... it could be talking about stuff the school as hid for decades, don't tell me your trying to protect it Tenmei?!
Hitoshi... don't start, we are at a funeral...
Ye-Yeah we shouldn't be fighting like this - what would Ichiro and Yuka would say...
But they decide and I wouldn't be surprise if Hope's Peak had something to do with it! I mean seriously, the school has done a bunch of shit and your trying to cover for them Tenmei!
Wh-What?! Hitoshi, I'm not doing that - all I'm saying is to stay away!
*pulls Hitoshi away* Hitoshi enough, don't start this especially with your kid here!
Le-Let go of me! Tenmei, your just trying to hide crap I know it!
Da-Dad calm down!

What is Up With LuLu? (Theory)
Originally posted: 21 September, 2018
Ironically this theory isn’t outdated, it just needs to be reworked with new evidence.
I wrote this at a ridiculously late hour and the first line was “I guess this is a theory I guess” I should NOT write close to midnight
Like the title says it's 11 PM on a Thursday and there was just a Magiclicas talk show and now I'm all spooled up about LuLu
She's so inconsistent!
Like, I know she's meant to be that way, but at the same time, some things literally DONT ADD UP.
First off, when Kai was leaving the Winter Ball he ran into her and called her Misuki. I can understand her nickname being LuLu, the name doesn't bother me.
What bothers me is that in one of the following episodes, LuLu implies she knew Kai in the past as a Cipher (and as a close family friend?) and that she seemed rather unsure about Kai being a Spero
1. This means Kai joined the Spero fairly recently, unless it's been several years since they last saw each other. I don't quite remember the details of that conversation tbh
2. This means LuLu doesn't know she's a Spero herself at this point in time?!
When Kagae was first introduced (I'm fairly sure it's actually spelled Kage but is people can’t spell Ichiro I'm just spelling it pheonetically) we all noticed she had the same streaks of pink and purple hair as LuLu, but her hair was grey. I remember asking Jakey about it in an after party stream, and he said that it was a combination of the lighting in the Spero hideout and the shaders and that they decided to do her skin differently as a Spero
But as shown in the finale, either Principal Laurens hooked LuLu up with her wig store or Kagae's hair color literally changed before our eyes into LuLu's. So there's clearly some unanswered questions about this still.
Not to mention that LuLu and Kagae don't seem to be aware of each other. LuLu doesn't realize she's been acting strange, only that she has periods of amnesia and strange exhaustion before Kaya discovers... whatever she technically discovered because episode 23 threw all that out the window.
At the same time, Kagae doesn't know HOW she knows which potion is the one needed to treat Jax while he's having complications in the demone scuro ceremony. But LuLu is rather excellent with potions, so although LuLu's knowledge comes through subconsciously to Kagae, she doesn't realize what is actually going on.
From this recent livestream (which I only caught the last minutes of) Jakey said that Ichiro does care for LuLu, although whether it's for the potential of the White Stone or if it's a true father-daughter relationship it wasn't exactly clear. But Jakey DID say that LuLu's mother is Ichiro's wife?! (That honestly surprised me but alright) so despite all this, LuLu HAS to know who her father really is, right? But then how would she not really know she's a Spero? Is Kagae the one he calls his daughter so that's why she's the Spero, and LuLu the Magiclica spy in Everston?
I also just realized why Ichiro and Reina pretended to be LuLu's parents during the musical I guess THAT makes sense now...
I had one theory on this but thinking about it now I have several-
1. LuLu has schizophrenia (a multiple personality disorder where often personalities don't remember what the other has done, or something to that effect) this would explain her not remembering her time as Kagae, or Kagae as LuLu.
2. Ichiro has some sort of spell on her that as Kagae, she is a Spero and is loyal to him and that is why at the reveal in episode 23, Ichiro said what he said how he said it and LuLu's reaction to this, which for me was hard to interpret. Was she confused? Silently guilty? Determined? I couldn't tell. It's kinda like all the kiss scenes with their eyes open XD
Also this could also explain that Ichiro was shown to use LuLu's shadow ability to possess Melissa
3. LuLu/Kagae have two souls in one body. Idk how this could happen, but it kind of seems like it could fit. And considering the particle scene at the end of episode 23, if the theories that there's gonna be some sort of Chase/Ichiro fusion (even though it's confirmed Ichiro will not be seen nor heard again (alive) in the series) is it not possible that LuLu and Kagae died in similar ways to Chase and Ichiro and their remains fused to create this sort of split-lived person?
4. Ichiro has managed, along with both of the previous theories somewhat, to make LuLu and Kagae think they are to completely different people. LuLu is a Magiclica going to Everston Academy and lives with her normal-enough mother and father, while Kagae is a Spero who is a devout follower of Ichiro and is often his right-hand woman. It could even be that Ichiro has convinced the Kagae side that he isn't even her father, only her superior, to further differentiate the two lives. It would be cruel and evil thing to do, especially to his own daughter and would most definitely cause a serious existential crisis and probably some sort of depression, but Ichiro has also been shown several times to be very cruel to get what he wants; threatening Melissa's family and friends, giving Kai a horrible test to convert Quinston unwillingly, and trapping Mr. Foley in his own portal for all eternity (or until Ichiro died :D)
Or maybe I'm insane since it's 11:35 at night and I've missed some serious details
Although all I do have to say for sure is that the truth about LuLu has been hinted at for a VERY long time, we just never knew it!
I added this later, it should really go up at the part where I first mentioned LuLu’s parents but it’s too much work to copy/paste more than one paragraph in the Tumblr mobile app :/
In the episode "Home," we get a glimpse of LuLu's home life.
AND THERE IS BOTH ICHIRO WITH BROWN HAIR AND EYES AND HER MOM. AND LULU. IN THE SAME ROOM.
And yknow that's fine, EXCEPT-
Ichiro is a full-blooded Magiclica.
LuLu is a miscela
Both of them have powers
But for LuLu to be a miscela, her mother would have to be a Cipher.
Cipher-Magiclica relationships are illegal
So either at home LuLu and Ichiro pretend to be Ciphers (which STILL wouldn't make sense because LuLu is enrolled in Everston as a Magiclica?) or her mom is pretending to be a Magiclica, which is a pretty hard thing to pretend to be if you're not a Spero
And I'm 99% sure she doesn't know her daughter and husband are Spero because their appearances are different and they go by different names and in the scene they said they were going to a convention when they were actually going to the Spero Hideout
So I could say she knows and is alright with their illegal activity but I don't think that's the case.
So Ichiro, lying to your wife isn't good. I don't know HOW you're pulling it off, but when she finds out, you're chopped liver.
Oh wait you're already chopped liver you got owned by Sarah never mind

Madara x Reader
- An arranged marriage twenty years in the making comes calling for Madara Uchiha. Now that Konoha has stabilized, his bride-to-be is ready to be at his side. But is Madara ready for what marriage all entails?
[Chapter One] —> [Chapter Three]
Chapter Two: Agreements
This chapter is a series of flash backs for reader.
Come vote on what one shot you want to read after this chapter -> [link]
She barely remembered meeting him. She had only been six at the time and she didn’t understand everything that was being discussed. It had been a quick meeting, with her parents and his father. Their agreement was on paper, but there was something more final about agreeing in person, verbally, for everyone to hear. She stood beside her mother, eyeing the older man and his son.
“We are in agreement? Your daughter’s hand for one of my sons, in return we join together, under Uchiha’s protection.” The stern man said looking down at her, he scared her so she shifted behind her mother’s dress.
“Yes, we are Tajima Uchiha.” Her father, Ichiro said, offering his hand to Tajima. They shook hands, both men gripping each other’s hands harder than strictly necessarily. “Y/N, come out from behind your mother. Mind your manners, say hello.” Her father snapped, gesturing for her to step in front of them. Keeping her e/c eyes downcast, she stepped forward.
“Hello, I’m Y/N.” She said looking up at the man and boy. The boy would be her husband, it felt foreign and too far into the future to comprehend. Y/N didn’t even really understand what that would mean. Sure, she heard older girls talk of marriage, having children, and running a household. This was what they were discussing between the boy and herself. She looked back at her parents for a moment-her father gestured her to step closer to Tajima and her mother offered a small smile.
The man knelt down to her level, offering her what was supposed to be a smile. It came off too wide, and a bit of a grimace. “It’s wonderful to meet you at last, Y/N. Your father speaks of you often, he’s a proud father.” He said clearly trying to soften his hardened face and voice. It didn’t really work but she offered a small smile. She was being watched by her parents, these two strangers, and her own clan members. She had to mind her manners, and make her parents proud.
“Thank you, I do my best to be good.” She said looking down again playing with the hem of her jacket.
“This is my son.” He said pulling the boy forward. He was just as stoic as his father, even as a ten year old. “He’s growing into a strong shinobi.”
Shinobi.
Her friends liked playing house with dolls, while most of the boys ran off to be shinobis. She didn’t see what the fuss was all about. Shinobis. Her mother said it was dangerous, and that she better keep her mind away from such thoughts. Honestly, she didn’t understand the hype boys had with sharp knives and chakra tricks, and what made those things so dangerous. She wasn’t going to risk her mother’s anger asking about something she didn’t really care about. If it really had been of some importance her parents would have told her what that meant.
“Hello, Y/N.” The boy said, shifting as he felt many eyes on him. “I’m Madara Uchiha.” He stood straight, proud of who he was, of his clan as he offered his hand following his father’s action.
Staring at his hand, she shook it.
The Uchiha’s left not long after the meeting concluded. She ran back to her mother’s side, much to her father’s scoff.
That was the first and only time she had met him. For the most part she forgot all about it. The meeting was a mere blip in her life, something she didn’t need to think of until she was older.
-----
It was another three years before she put any thought into the Uchiha’s. She had overheard people talking about ‘the warring’ but did not really understand what it meant. Who were they at war with and why, but none of her teachers really had an answer to her questions. It wasn’t until an older girl had found dead bodies in a nearby river that it really became a talked about issue. Suddenly it was all the whole clan was talking about it. How unsafe it now was, never had the bloody violence been so close to their clan’s lands. Her father proclaimed that no one was allowed outside alone or once the sun began to set.
The elders called for action to be taken immediately on this turn of events. This caused an argument between her parents: her father did not want them to retreat, instead he wanted more people trained and sent to the war front. Her mother for once outspokenly disagreed with him.
It had been the loudest their house had ever been. The fighting between her parents had been out in the open, first tense and firm words turned into yelling matches. Surprisingly her mother won the argument eventually. After days of screaming her father out of the house he yielded to her pressure. She would take any non-shinobi members of their clan retreat west further into farming country instead of training more people. The rest of the clan and her father would join forces with the Uchiha’s.
Her last memory of her father was the morning of his departure east to join forces with the Uchiha’s, while she and many clan members moved west. Her parents said nothing to each other and Y/N didn’t try to make conversation at the breakfast table. The only sound was of their chopsticks and the chewing of their food. The weight of this being their last meal together and the heat of summer on top of it made the air feel heavy around them. Without a word her father stood from his place at the head of the table, he bypassed Ume and gave Y/N a pat on the head before he left. Her mother merely relaxed once he was gone. Y/N’s eyes followed her father’s movements until she could no longer see him, and turned back to her mother.
“It’ll be just us now.” Ume sighed, reaching out to pet her h/c hair now that they were alone. She offered her mother a small smile, which she returned.
They left with the rest of the clan later that day. Taking only what they needed in day to day life. No one seemed too bothered to be leaving most of their things behind. The ever encroaching fear that war would be upon them must have helped erased that upset.
It wasn’t long after they reached where they would make their new home did they receive word her father had been slain. The messenger stood in front of her and her mother. Clearing his throat after he read the message aloud, confused as there had been no reaction. Y/N looked at her mother, a few tears in her e/c eyes. But her mother didn’t cry, merely nodded to the messenger and dismissed them.
“It’s just us now.” Ume said squeezing y/n hand. “We’ll be fine, we have the Uchiha’s protection.” Ume added, kissing the top of her head.
There is the end of Chapter two. Hope you all have enjoyed! Looking for 15 notes(comments/likes/reblogs) for chapter three. Please and thank you! Ask about this fic are always welcome!

Im not sure if you do kids but if so, id love some Ramuda, Ichiro, and Jyuuto raising a little girl headcannons. I hope youre well!
Hello! Could I ask for a one-shot where Ramuda has a child with his S / O?, Will he treat him to his real personality when he grows up?, I can't find much of his other side and I need a little of that ;-;. your writings are really wonderful. it's the first time that i've request something, so I really don't know how to do it. I am using google translator so sorry if it is misspelled or if it sounds bad, that is not my intention. anyway thanks for considering my request <3
━━ ∘◦ ☆ ◦∘ ━━
Pairing: father!Ichiro Yamada; father!Juto Iruma; father!Ramuda Amemura
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: None
A/N: Aww, this one was so cute! I love dad headcanons and these three would all be so different but they’d be so cute with little daughters. I’ve done some more Ichiro dad related stuff here and here and one dad!Juto here! I included the other Ramuda request because they were kind of similar, so I ended up writing more for him just to flesh out his dark!side and then general dad headcanons. Hope you enjoy~
⋘ ──── ∗ ⋅◈⋅ ∗ ──── ⋙
Ichiro Yamada
Ichiro is such a loving, fun dad and he’s always going to want to make sure that is daugher is safe and happy
from the first moment he holds his baby girl in his arms, she becomes the most important thing in the world to him
whenever she cries at night, he’s on his feet and picking her up, cradling her in his arms and rocking her while hushing her gently
when she gets old enough to start talking and begins to ask him a million question, he’s always pulling her onto his lap
and then just talking with her for hours about everything and anything she wants to talk about
he always picks her up and puts her on his shoulders, running around and asking her what the view is like from up there
whenever she cries or falls and hurts herself, Ichiro is there with a plethora of little Hello Kitty bandaids to patch her up
Ichiro’s daughter is definitely going to be spoiled rotten because Ichiro has a hard time saying ‘no’ to her
he’s going to try to put his foot down when he has to, but most of the time he gives her exactly what she wants
all Ichiro really wants is to raise his daughter to be strong and kind-hearted to be a good person
so he’s always making sure to be gentle with her whenever she does something wrong
rather than just yelling at her, he always sits her down and tells her why she was wrong and how she can better communicate her feelings
when his daughter’s in school, she ends up writing an essay about the person who inspires her the most
and of course it’s about Ichiro and when she shows him the essay with a little drawing she did of the two of them together, Ichiro practically breaks down into tears
because he’s so happy that his daughter loves him and looks up to him
as she gets older, he’ll want to take her on different vacations like camping or going to Disneyworld
and when she goes through the middle school phase he’s going to be sad that she doesn’t want to spend as much time with him
but he’s going to take her to all of her sporting events and activities
and is going to be her number one cheerleader at everything she does
he’s the type of dad that demands a hug before his daughter gets out of the car to go to school
Ichiro is also going to be the dad that all his daughters friends think is super cool but to her, he’s just kind of silly and embarrassing
but at the end of the day, they’re close and both love each other
Juto Iruma
Juto wasn’t expecting to be a father, but once he holds his daughter for the first time, he vows to be a good dad
it’s frustrating for him when she’s a baby and he has to do all the (quite literal) dirty work
but when she becomes a kid and can talk and starts to have that wide-eyed curiosity, Juto loves to pull her onto his lap and talk
sometimes he’ll tease her and use big words and concepts that he knows she doesn’t understand just to confuse her
but he’ll always end up explaining things to her for real just to have her hug him and say ‘thank you’ with a toothy grin
which makes his heart hurt because she’s just too precious
he definitely keeps a picture of her in his wallet and whenever anyone asks he’ll casually pull it out and play it off like it’s no big deal
even though he secretly wants to show off his kid to everyone
as she starts to get older, Juto definitely brags about all of her accomplishments to the other parents
but he’ll make sure to always tell her he’s proud of her even if she does poorly in a class or fails a test
because as much as Juto wants to see her succeed, he knows that it’ll only lead to resentment if he tries to push her too hard
he puts her in all sorts of activities and sports, especially expensive ones like horse-riding and fencing
I can definitely see him becoming her soccer coach after he bullies the previous coach to quit because he didn’t know what he was doing
and then Juto get’s weirdly competitive about it and leads his daughter’s team to victory
Juto’s definitely going to be a protective father, looking out for his daughter and not letting her do things he deems dangerous
which could lead to some arguments and fights when she gets older
but over time his daughter will teach him that he needs to be understanding and more patient
and he’ll work on hearing her side of arguments more frequently
because he really hates getting into arguments with his daughter and would much rather have fun spending time with her
whenever they go on family vacations, it’s always somewhere posh and first class, usually international
because he wants his daughter to have the finer things in life even if she ends up being spoiled
his daughter definitely has his sense of keenness and slyness too, so the pair end up being lethal together
Juto has 100% used the ‘I’m her father and I’m a cop so if you hurt her I’ll end you’ trope before
and does a complete background check of all of her friends and s/o’s all of the time despite how irritated she gets by it
Ramuda Amemura
Ramuda never expected to have children, so he’s quite nervous when he finds out that he’s going to have a daughter
he definitely disappears for a while to clear his thoughts and it takes Dice and Gentaro telling him that he’ll be a good dad for him to come back
because he realizes that he really does want to be a part of his daughter’s life and he wants to do right by her
and he knows the world can be a dark, cruel place, so he doesn’t want her to be alone like she was alone
Ramuda is going to be the definition of over-protective with his daughter, especially when she’s a baby
he doesn’t like it when other people hold her and if she’s out of his sight for too long he gets nervous
he definitely spoils her rotten and gives her tons of toys and candy whenever she wants it
Ramuda loves to make clothes for her too, sewing them all himself and making her one-of-a-kind outfits that get her lots of compliments at school
even when she’s in high school, she still asks him to make her some dresses or designer fakes and he’s more than happy to do it for her
as she starts to grow up, he’s hesitant to give her freedom and let her go out into the word, but eventually he has to
he’s still protective of her, making sure her school teachers and schoolmates are treating her kindly
if anyone ever tried to bully his daughter, Ramuda would not take any of that and immediately report them, pretending like he was going through all of the normal channels
but then he would also confront them and literally threaten their lives if they ever spoke to his daughter again
and when dark!Ramuda comes out, those bullies don’t stand a chance
the only thing Ramuda would be worried about is his daughter finding out about his dark side
Ramuda definitely tries to keep his dark side under control around his daughter, wanting her to see his happy, bubbly side instead
he’s always teasing and laughing around her, making jokes and pouting whenever she says something mean to him
taking her on vacation and wanting to do fun activities to spend as much time together as possible
because even though he’s a dad, he still only knows how to mask his true feelings by pretending to be happy all the time
his daughter always comments about how childish he can be sometimes and this will make Ramuda laugh and brush her off
but they’re both pretty close and they have a good relationship
and I can imagine her finding out about his dark side when she’s a little older and instead of being scared away, she hugs her dad
and tells Ramuda that it’s okay before asking him to tell her everything and explain his life when he was younger
and although it pains Ramuda to have to admit his past, he does end up telling her everything because he loves his daughter and it would hurt too much to lie in such a big way
of course, she’s understanding and she tells him that it doesn’t matter to her that he’s done horrible things because he’s been an amazing father to her and she can tell that he’s changed to become a better person
and that’s when Ramuda just breaks down sobbing into his daughter’s arms
because he’s never really felt like anyone would ever be able to accept him the way he is
and now the one person he actually loves and wants to protect is the one person that allows him to be himself
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

May I request for tdd ichiro and samatoki finding out that their fem s/o is the adopted daughter of jakurai hc???
Yes, of course! This was cute to write, though I do hope that I was able to portray it well and accurately,,Thank you for the request though, and I hope you enjoy 💕
𝗧𝗗𝗗 𝗜𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗸𝗶 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀/𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗝𝗮𝗸𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗶'𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿
-pairings: ichiro yamada x f!reader, samatoki aohitsugi x f!reader
-genre: fluff
Ichiro
he certainly did pick up the semblance long before, though it was a bit more of intuition than anything, and ichiro never did take that thought of his too seriously
he couldn’t help but pick up on the small details, such as how you always seemed to talk highly of the doc and certainly were the closest with him when compared with the other members
but, again, ichiro didn’t think much of it. he simply thought that you and jakurai just got along well, more so than the others. perhaps the two of you even hung out often outside of the group. honestly, he was happy to see both his girlfriend and one of his close friends get along
so when it’s first brought up that jakurai had actually taken you in, presumably, after you’ve been orphaned, he’s initially quite surprised to see that you guys were actually related (well, not by blood)
ichiro actually finds out when he brings up meeting your family since you guys were together for a while by then. you had met his brothers (who loved you a lot and saw you as an older sister might i add) once the three of them had made amends, and he was excited at the prospect of meeting yours
draws a blank when you tell him that he already had given that he didn’t know or actively talk to many people. but when he says jakurai offhandedly, not really expecting it to be the answer, ichiro practically does a double-take when you nod
“seriously?! man, i never realized”
he may have had his suspicions that both you and him were closer than ichiro realized, but a parental relationship never was something that crossed his mind. now that it was mentioned, however, he was able to draw on the parallels, ones he had missed beforehand
at the same time, ichiro is definitely interested to learn more, specifically how jakurai had found you, when he did, etc. he thought it was all so compelling and listened to the story rather intently
(and, honestly, he felt relieved to know that you were in such good hands. ichiro trusted jakurai quite a lot after all)
despite that, ichiro also knew that you were your own person and weren’t tied to jakurai in any way, shape, or form; so it never was a fact he brought up often, though he certainly did think that it was neat
at times though, he seems to forget it, and each time it’s brought up such as when you were describing what jakurai had made for dinner last night, ichiro is always taken aback each time before remembering that the two of you had this conversation before
well, he was a bit forgetful back then i like to think, though in an endearing sense
Samatoki
the thought of both you and jakurai being related or even being friends, really anything that’d require you guys being close, never did cross his mind, not in the slightest
i mean, what reason did samatoki have to believe that his girlfriend and teammate were somehow related? there never was anything that would hint at that, at least, in his eyes
samatoki , admittedly, had missed all the little details, such as your high regards of jakurai or how he was the one you talked about the most when the dirty dawg was brought up. he didn’t think much of it, perhaps finding it a bit strange at times but never anything he pointed out
if anything, samatoki just thought that you were also a fan of his or were simply acquaintances, nothing really that big. you guys just so happened to get along really
so when he first learns of it, when you so casually mention that jakurai was your adopted father during a conversation about family, honestly, samatoki sorta just blanks and goes “huh??”
it was something that seemed so out of the blue, so random even, but that’s only because he never did connect two-and-two together. never in his wildest dreams did samatoki think that perhaps his girlfriend knew and was related to someone on his team, especially not when the two of you didn’t even meet through jakurai
but then he recalls back to all the moments where it should’ve been at least a little obvious. all the times he had caught you alongside jakurai, and how jakurai, in particular, seemed to be rather fond and soft towards you
man, he really was so blind to it, samatoki couldn’t help but think
but it was also something that, after the fact, he brushed aside, not really thinking much of it. sure, it was quite neat to know that you two were related in some way, and it did peak his curiosity so he may ask for the story, if you were fine with that; but overall, it’s not something he was entirely bothered by
lowkey feel like he’d try and reassure jakurai that, even if he was a member of the yakuza, he’d take good care of you even though jakurai had no doubts at all. samatoki could be somewhat old-fashioned at times just like that
samatoki is a huge family man, as we know, so i’m sure he’d be happy to also know that you had the doc as your dad since he wanted you to have nothing but support and love coming from your home life, especially considering your past and all (assuming that he took you up when you were orphaned)
honestly, he also loves teasing you about it at times, smirking and saying stuff like how he’ll snitch on you to your dad if you ever did anything that was dangerous or so inconsequential, such as forgetting to take out the trash, or even just to fluster you
samatoki loved to see how flustered you got, thinking that you looked rather adorable, though it was all in good humor
(don’t worry, you like to get him back by threatening to tattle on him to nemu as well, lol)

Reki: You are definitely Langa's daughter.
-------------------------------------------------------
Langa: Kiko, for the last time, you can't put your brother in the goodwill box.
Kukiko: But why?
Langa: Goodwill doesn't accept baby donations.
Kukiko: Why?
Langa: Because I'm pretty sure that's breaking like four laws.
Kukiko: Why?
Langa: Kukiko Hasegawa if you say "why" one more fucking time.
Kukiko: W h y .
Langa: Reki! Kukiko put hiro in the goodwill box again!
Kukiko: NO DON'T TELL ON ME!
Langa: THEN DON'T CHALLENGE ME!
Reki who was just sitting in the kitchen with Ichiro trying to drink his juice: Hey hiro, you're not gonna be like this when you get older right?
Ichiro: *stares in confused baby*
Reki: I'll take that as a yes.
-------------------------------------------------------
Kukiko: Bed time is for the weak!
Reki: Well that's too damn bad, go to bed.
Kukiko: That's a bad word.
Reki: Go to bed or no ice cream till you're fifty.
Kukiko: You drive a hard bargain, but it's a deal.
Langa: How does he do it?
-------------------------------------------------------
Langa: Kukiko, you have to apologize to him.
Kukiko: No. It's his fault!
Langa: How?
Kukiko: He was like "whatcha gonna do? Hit me?" So I hit him.
Langa:...... Kiko-
Kukiko: I WAS CHALLENGED!
Langa: YOU'RE LIKE SIX! THAT SHOULDN'T BE A CHALLENGE FOR YOU!
Kukiko: I WAS AGITATED!
Langa: YOU CAN'T EVEN SPELL AGITATED!
Reki whose just watching as he drinks tea: Man, gotta love fridays.
-------------------------------------------------------
Kukiko: What should I do if someone's mean to me?
Langa: Ask them to stop.
Reki: Break their fucking knees.
Langa: REKI-
Kukiko: How would I do that?
Reki: Well first you-
Langa: DON'T YOU DARE TELL HER HOW TO DO THAT!
-------------------------------------------------------
Nanako: Oh Kukiko is such a little angel.
Langa: Are we talking about the same Kukiko?
-------------------------------------------------------
Kukiko: I fell off the swing set.
Langa: Are you ok?
Kukiko: No! I'm angry! Because this rude girl named May just stepped over me and took my swing! This means war!
Langa: I meant are you unharmed... but ok then....
-------------------------------------------------------
Reki: Whoever it was that told me having kids was easy, fuck you.
Langa: Wasn't it your mom though?
Reki:.... Nevermind, but I'm still upset that I was lied to.
-------------------------------------------------------
Miya: So what do you like to do for fun?
Kukiko: Put tiny peices of tape on people and watch them loose their minds as everything sticks to them.
Miya: Oh we're definitely gonna be good friends.

could i have a imagine where sasuke and the reader have like 3 children, during while he was on the mission, and he just spends time with the kids, ending with some fluffy and teasing smut between her and sasuke cuz they missed each other? thank you!
a piece of me: sasuke uchiha
authors note: sorry for the delay! there was too many ideas all over the place for this one
word coun: 1610
You could always see the displeasure in his expression during every morning when the both of you were meant to part. Always cutting farewells short — he never intended to be cold, you knew that. The way his eye softened when he held your gaze for too long before shifting towards the small child in your arms the down towards the barely noticeable bump your stomach formed.
You knew this was what he had to do, however he could help but hate that he couldn’t stay with you — bring you with him but you both knew how much he needed this. Without much being said he tenderly kissed you, hastily disappeared right after.
Months after his departure you gave birth to a beautiful set of twins, a boy and a girl. Your daughter Sana, took after you in every aspect except for the dark onyx orbs. While your son Samaru was a mix of the two of you; the only one to not share the same eyes as his father. You cried that night, wishing nothing more than to have Sasuke by your side.
Sasuke was never given the chance to properly interact with the twins, never mind your eldest son. Your eldest Ichiro reminded you so much Sasuke, a carbon copy of him in addition to having the same attitude; although he was much more softer. Regardless of having no memory of their father you often shared stories about him, always involving the tell-tale story of how you met, and showing them pictures from his youth. Your wedding picture seemed to be their favorite, you’d often catch Ichiro fondly gazing at it.
Most believed that you should’ve hated him for leaving you, a lone mother to care for three children. However you couldn’t and would never hate him, you understood why he did what he did and why the way that he is.
No one would ever understand the relationship between you two. You were able to understand each other without having to utter a word; two halves of a whole when separated. Contrary to common belief Sasuke didn’t marry you in hopes of pleasing the village elders, he did it to show his utter devotion; that no matter how far or long he way away for he will always be by your side.
That day was over eight years ago, just three months before discovering you were pregnant with your first. You greatly appreciated the letters you seldomly received from him but they still left you longing for his return. Not just his yearly visit that only lasted through the night with no trace of him to be found in the morning. No you endlessly longed to touch him, wake up next to him, have him at your side raising the children that resembled both you and him in a sense.
——
Just like every other day you raised with the sun, preparing for the day. Since it was saturday you dressed in your old training gear, securely placing a few ninja tools in your pouch. Every since your children decided that they wanted to be just like their parents they’ve been training as much as any seven and six year olds could. Saturday’s became training day ever since Ichiro enrolled in the academy, Sana and Samaru in tow.
Once getting them out of bed they showered ate, and dressed before heading out towards the training grounds. Training with them every weekend caused their skills to greatly improve despite their young age, before turning seven Ichiro was able to master the fire ball justu. Although your nature wasn’t fire you were still able to teach him the hand signs.
Today was mostly spent with shuriken practice, ending with Ichiro helping you teach the twins the fire ball justu. Before the four of you knew it the sun was beginning to set. The three of them raced home, leaving you trudging behind wishing you could share their energy.
Before entering your home you sensed something was off. Picking up on the unfamiliar chakra sense you stiffened, quietly telling your children to wait outside for you. Entering cautiously you concealed your presence, kunai held in a death grip. Entering the living area you were greeted with a all too familiar dark figure lounging on your couch.
“I was wondering when you would come back” Freezing you dropped your kunai at the sound of his voice. Sasuke slowly approached you until you were face to face.
Your hand was the first thing to touch him, landing on his firm chest assuring you this wasn’t some a genjutsu. “Sasuke” your voice was small, lacking it’s usual poise. Looking up you didn’t realize tears clouded your vision until his face became blurry. Your arms circled around his neck squeezing him against you; his lone arm holding you against him.
You must’ve been inside longer than you thought because your children came storming inside. Ichiro in front with his own kunai, Samaru to his left leaving Sana protectively behind them. “Ma what’s... dad?” Ichiro lowered the weapon, gazing up at Sasuke in pure shock, the man that he hardly remembers from only being a few months old was standing right in front of him.
Beating him to it Sana called out for her father in excitement, engulfed him in the biggest huge her little arms could muster. Samaru followed quickly after, both children clinging to their father for dear life as he awkwardly attended to both of them. You remained close laughing at the scene unfolding, shifting your attention you looked around for Ichiro only to come up short. Realizing why he left you gave him the space he needed.
Once it was well past the twins bed time Sasuke helped you put them down before heading off in search of his eldest. Finding Ichiro throwing shuriken at some makeshift targets, he realized he must have slipped outside earlier after this younger siblings became the focus of his attention. Sasuke watched him for a while, waiting for the child to take a break. He became more interested once the child started to weave signs he was all to familiar with, perfecting the first justu he’s ever learned .
“You’re better than I was at your age” his tone was firm, but held a sense of pride. However it didn’t fail to make Ichiro go stiff, only slightly relaxing after realizing it was his father speaking.
Without turning around Ichiro replied “Yeah thanks to mom” He sighed before turning around, he approached his father until they were within arms length of each other. Staring at each other for a while before Sasuke broke the silence.
“It’s not much, but I apologize for not being here for you or the twins. It was never my intention to bring sorrow to any of you”
“Mom already told me. It’s just-“ Ichiro shifted his gaze before looking back at his father with a hardened look “Listen I get that the mission was important for you and you needed to do it” he took a breath before continuing “But it doesn’t matter that mom loves you and she’s okay with you leaving you need to promise that you won’t leave for so long ever again. I don’t like seeing her sad”
Sasuke was stunned, his child lecturing him, putting his feelings aside in regards for another. He reminded him of Itachi, bringing a slight pain to his chest.
“You have my word” his words firm and meaningful, hesitantly he grasped his sons shoulder before continuing. “As I said before I am aware that my words don’t mean much but I’m more that willing to make up for lost time with you. Your mother doesn’t specialize in fire type and I have more than enough ninjutsu’s to teach you.”
The excitement that flashed in Ichiro’s eyes was gone as soon as it came, but not fast enough for Sasuke to miss it. Shrugging his shoulders he looked up at his father as if the words had no effect on him “That would be cool”
Unexpectedly Sasuke pulled Ichiro into the gentlest hug he could manage. Ichiro hesitantly hugged back, basking in the warmth he never knew he missed.
Your heart grew as you watched the scene play out. You silently remained in the door frame, giving them a few minutes before clearing your throat. In an instant Ichiro snapped out of Sasuke’s hold, taking in your presence. You held back a laugh before speaking. “I believe it’s time for bed young man” Nodding Ichiro ran up to you hugging you before wishing you a goodnight, and bashfully wishing the same to his father before heading upstairs.
Once you were sure he was in bed you approached Sasuke almost predator like, pulling him down by the collar of his shirt in for a needy kiss. Gripping the back of your neck Sasuke held you closer. Grazing your teeth across his bottom lip before pulling away.
“Now I think we have some catching up to do” your honeyed tone was almost enough to make him take you right there.
“That we do” His voice dropped an octave making you realize how much you missed hearing him speak.
Lightly trailing your pointer lightly up his chest you stopped all the way at his lip tugging it down. Sasuke playfully nipped at it,
you laughed before speaking. “You know I have some things I’ve been wanting to try out, only if you’re up for it of course” You said in a teasing tone. A light smirk casted over Sasuke’s face, before you could blink you were in your bedroom, back flush against the bed.

“Hey Chishiya, your girl’s on TV.”
Chishiya was on his break when his co-worker popped into the break room, and turned the TV on. As soon as they did, Kurenai’s face appeared on the screen. She was dressed immaculately as usual, but she looked a little different today: much more authoritative.
By now, almost half the ward was gathered in the break room, all curious.
Just this morning, news broke that Chuya Atsushi was stepping down as the director of Chuya Group, and that his own daughter was taking over the company. Although the public had yet to know the truth, it was speculated that Kurenai planned a coup against her own father.
Cameras were flashing in the crowd of reporters as Kurenai took her seat at the table, sitting in front of dozens of microphones and recording devices.
As soon as she sat down, hands were shooting up in the air and individuals were calling out to her as they each have a million questions for her.
-
“Miss Chuya! Is it true that you planned to usurp your own father?”
“Usurp? Gosh, that’s such a harsh word to use,” Kurenai sighed. “I wouldn’t say I usurped his position. More like...I took over. Yeah, let’s go with that.”
-
“Now that your father is no longer connected with the company, do you think the Chuya Group stocks will tank? What will you do when that happens?”
“I will do absolutely nothing because that will never happen,” Kurenai smiled. “And I’m sure if you did a little more homework before coming here, in the short span of me as director, Chuya Group stocks actually went up.”
-
“Is it true that you are dating a doctor?”
“My my, so nosy. But yes, I am dating a doctor.”
-
“What will happen between Chuya Group and Morita Corporations now that you have publicly rejected marriage with Morita Ichiro?”
“I wish for the business relationship to be maintained between our two companies. Whether or not I marry Morita Ichiro should not affect our business standings. We’re in the twenty-first century for goodness sake. Let’s stop this whole unite through marriage bullshit, shall we?”
-
“Do you think you’ll do a better job than your father at heading the company? You have never worked a single day in your life, after all. Or are you just too privileged and delusional to think that you’d be able to manage basically an empire?”
“Again, if you did your homework, you’d know that I graduated with an MBA at Kyoto University. So to an-”
“Almost everyone has a college degree, it doesn’t mean they have the ability or experience to head an entire corporation.”
“I don’t have to prove anything to you. You’d just have to see the result of my work further down the road. Someone get this person out of here please.”
-
“Miss Chuya, why did you take over from your father? What pushed you to this?”
“Very good question. To put it simply, I do not think my father is fit to lead Chuya Group. Not only is his thinking too traditional for a modern world, but he has been lying and deceiving the public for years. For as long as I can remember, my father has been praised by the public as a loving husband and caring father because that is the image he put forth. Unfortunately, that is far from the truth.
“My father is abusive. He has anger issues and would often take his anger out on his wife and own children. He manipulated the public to think that we are the picture perfect family when behind closed doors, he would beat both my brother and me. He would verbally abuse his employees too. He drove my mother to suicide and had you all thinking that he was a grieving husband who tragically lost his wife to an illness.
“I called for this press conference partly to explain the slight change in leadership within the company, but mainly to expose my father. That will be all for today’s questions. I know there’s a million more you have in mind, especially after this revelation. Later today, I will be posting evidence of my father’s abuse. Please look forward to it.”
--
All day long, since the beginning of the press conference, the entire nation went into a frenzy. Every news station was reporting on the sudden change in director for Chuya Group. #AtsushiTheAbuser was trending on several media platforms as everyone was deep in discussion on whether or not Kurenai was telling the truth.
As promised, later that day, Kurenai released a video compilation of Atsushi’s abuse.
To protect himself and his asset, Atsushi had cameras installed in his office. Never did he think it would come back to bite him in the bottom. His secretary had apparently been working with Kurenai, sending her the video files of when he would hit Aoi and Kurenai, or when he would be seen yelling profanity at employees.
That video went viral within the first hour.
Following up, Kurenai even released her mother’s autopsy results. While her father was crying in front of the cameras for the loss of his wife, the medical examiner had determined her death to be of suicide and even noted the injuries and bruises on her body consistent with domestic abuse. Though, those results were quickly buried only to be uncovered today.
After the day she had, Chishiya was expecting Kurenai to be exhausted. She had been pulling all-nighters for the past ten days, perhaps she would be fast asleep when he got home. That was when his phone rang.
It was from Kurenai, but when he answered the call, it was not Kurenai on the other end.
“Hey, are you um...My King?”
Hearing what Kurenai saved him as on her contacts, he could not help but smile. Fate and soulmates were always bullshit stories to sell romantic dramas and films. Or so Chishiya thought. It was a little hard to hold on to that belief when coincidences like this would happen.
Just as he was ‘My King’ on her phone, she was ‘My Queen’ on his.
“I’m Kurenai’s boyfriend, yes. Who is this?”
“Oh, I’m her friend, Kuina Hikari. I’m calling because um...well, she’s drunk.”
“Drunk?”
“Yeah, drunk. She said she wanted to celebrate something and dragged me to this fancy ass bar. She practically drank two bottles of wine by herself. Can you um...come and pick her up?”
It seemed very out of character for Kurenai to get drunk, though Chishiya could only imagine the stress she had been going through for the past ten days. Perhaps this was her way of letting go after everything went just as she planned.
Kuina sent him the address for the bar and he arrived there as quickly as he could. They were sat in a corner table, and as he was approaching them, he could see Kuina trying to feed water to a red-faced Kurenai.
“Hey, you must be the boyfriend, right?” Kuina asked. “I saw your picture as her background.”
“Thanks for taking care of her.”
Getting Kurenai home was a breeze as she slept the whole way, although Chishiya did have to carry her when they arrived at the apartment building because she was completely knocked out. As he was putting her in bed, however, she opened her eyes.
“No…” she mumbled, frowning as she was pushing Chishiya away. “I cannot sleep with you. I have a boyfriend.”
“I am your boyfriend.”
“Hm? When did I get such a good looking guy?”

Guillotine 📿
⚠️: Heavy Angst, major TDD/MCD spoilers, censored cursing, implying a negative household
This is the most angsty thing I’ve ever written help. - HD
Painting the roses red.
And many a tear be shed,
Because we know,
They'll cease to grow,
In fact, they'll soon be dead,
“Aaagh!” Emiko cried out as a pair of rough hands pushed her back, knocking her flat onto the hard concrete. If this were a normal fight she’d be angry, but this wasn’t normal. She tried desperately to hide the distraught on her face; the quivering on her lips, the salty tears threatening to leak from her eyes. She tried not to look at him, but his wild gaze pierced through her soul as he sneered down at her.
“Tch. You really are a pathetic little brat.” Kuko spat through his teeth as he looked down in clouded hatred. “I thought I told you to get the hell outta here!!” He howled. He went to grab her by the shirt but she quickly avoided him and gripped his arm. Digging her nails into soft skin to keep him from thrashing any more.
She wasn’t nearly as strong as him nor Ichiro when it came to a fist fight, and she wasn’t all that experienced when it came those sorts of situations anyway. But she wasn’t about to let him get away with this. Using all her strength she clutched into his jacket and threw him to the ground just like he did her, but it didn’t do much good.
“I said leave me alone!!” Kuko yelled again, scrambling to his feet, fists ready. Emiko hadn’t prepared for him to swing, but she narrowly dodged an incoming fist, surprised by the attack and everything beforehand. As Kuko had openly stated before he had a thing against hitting, specifically punching, girls.
“And I said NO!” She kicked him on the shin of his left leg as hard as she could, using the tip of her boot for good measure. It hurt, not just the aching of her foot but the fact she landed a hit.
“Stop it Kuko! You know why I’m here, why would you do that to Ichiro—!”
“Would you shut up! You and that Yamada b*****d are just the same!” He said as he brought himself back up to his feet.
“I hate you! I-I h-hate you!” He was shaking, his hands too as he curled them up into violent fists. He was silent, but only for a few moments before they started up again.
“Why?! Why do you hate us all of a sudden! You’re acting like a child! I don’t want to fight you anymore!”
“Of course you don’t! Always the angel playing that innocent little girl act! Well that’s old s*** and I’m sick of hearing it!!”
“Shut up Kuko, just stop it!”
Her voice was breaking, everything was breaking. Yelling went to screaming as their fight echoed through the empty streets. Disrupting the peaceful tranquility of the temple. She wanted nothing more than to fade into that quiet, all by herself where no one could find her.
What happened next really set her off, but she just couldn’t stop herself either.
“Why don’t you go cry to that sick scumbag you’re always dragging around?” He jeered, “He can barely defend himself, but that siscon has to rely on a brat like you just to stay alive!”
He didn’t get a chance to say anymore. As Emiko’s small hand came down on him like thunder.
The flood gates opened, and the tears poured out.
His left cheek was a bright red now. She expected him to fight back or at least let out some cry in retaliation, but Kuko stayed silent. In fact, he didn’t utter a single sound from there on out.
“Don’t you dare talk about Kazue like that! Or Ichiro!” She cried, “They’re more of a man than you’ll ever be! I-I’ll go if that’s what you want. But I never want to see your face again Kuko Harai! A-and, I will never be your friend again!” Her voice quivering through her little speech, but she meant every single word of it.
Never. Never. Never never never never ever again!
With that Emiko ran. Ran and ran and ran, all the way back to her castle, waiting with its king. Leaving the dragon all by himself in his lonely cave.
Forever.
———————
“Ah there you are Emiko!” A cool voice froze her blood cold as Emiko quickly hid her face with her sleeves, acting as if she were rubbing her eyes. Which in fact she was.
“Hi Mom.” She replied, doing her best as to not sound too dry. She glanced down at the purple workout carpet to avoid unwanted gazes as she quickly made her way to the staircase. It’s clear she came in at the wrong time.
“Oh, is this your daughter?” Emiko froze once more at the edge of the staircase as another voice called out where her mom sat. On the other end of the couch was a man around the same age as her mom. He was sharply dressed, a bit too sharp.
Great. Another one.
“Yup, that’s right,” Her mother claimed. A warm smile played onto her lips, “Now, Kazue’s upstairs. Make sure he takes his meds alright?” That look in the woman’s eyes made that smile look mismatched.
A look that said, do not ruin this for me.
Grateful for the short conversation, Emiko raced down the hallway to her and Kazue’s shared bedroom. It took a lot just to keep the door from slamming.
“Hey! You’re back!” Kazue exclaimed, he hadn’t seen the her red puffy eyes nor the black dirt that stained her clothing. “Did you get a load of the new guy? How long do you think this one’ll last? I give it a w—” Immediately he dropped the console he was holding as Emiko collapsed into his arms. Settling down on the foot of her bed, she buried her face in the crook of his neck as he held her, trying her way to become as small as she could.
No words were exchanged, none were needed. She knew he’d ask what happened later, but for now, all she wanted to do was fade away. Fade into the silence together.
The Queen she likes 'em red,
If she saw white instead,
She'd raise a fuss,
And each of us,
Would quickly loose his head!
Red roses (赤い薔薇) - passion, true love, romance and desire. Showing a true commitment to those you love.

And as for who Emina stole the slot of…well I give you a guess, who did she despise most of all? Who was the one person she absolutely could NOT stand. That’s right, Harumi Nanami and her being denied is ALSO the reason we have so many criminals because had Harumi been accepted then she could have brought as much reform as possible to the police as the Ultimate Forensic Scientist but…I think the fact criminal talents only started popping up AFTER Class 49 says everything.
So is that why Genocider Syo took so long to get caught? It wasn't due to police's incompetence but because Hope's Peak
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well yeah, pretty much it was why the police took so damn long to find all those criminals is because their whole forensics unit was being held together by rubber bands and glue so it should be obvious that it was outdated to hell and back.
You could be the smartest person in the whole room but if the tools you have are severely lacking or aren't upgraded then you can't do much.
This would be like as if an artist paintbrushes and paints were running out, or the doctors and nurses didn't have needles and bandages - you can only do sooo much with what your given but you'll just have to make do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
...Now I see why Grandfather didn't want to work with them, it makes way too much sense.
So in regards to Class 49, who were suppose to attend?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh simple, Harumi Nanami and Ayato Nijiue! Those 2 were suppose to attend but I guess Mr. Nijiue was too much of a lazy ass, he didn't want to so he pay for his future wife to attend which she choose Harumi Nanami because she was sooo insecure!
Which left Mrs. Nanami in the Reserve Course and the next person that was pick was ironically a certain company that helped rebuilt the school and the Reserve Course.
Koizumi constructions; pretty much they decided to enroll the son of the owner as he was in charge of that whole project as well.
But given how he turn out where he was so bitter and resentful of the school, that I guess if his own daughter didn't kill him he would of been an Ultimate Despair.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So that's why... I did get that impression from him when we all attended Ichiro and Yuka's funeral; he seem... relieved hearing the school was finally being exposed.
I know one of my classmates didn't like how he spoke but if reading all this, I... could see why he acted like that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah but I guess people think they can understood but in reality none of you did or didn't bother to realize that!

They had everything they could want...
... Until they didn’t.
Katsuki and Ochako finally got their daughter... for a little while
https://archiveofourown.org/works/23738497
Ochako gave their youngest son, Haruki, one more glance before she pulled the door to. She could definitely feel the wariness of the day finally getting to her and she was ready to change into pyjamas, fall into bed and sleep until one of their kids demanded their attention. A yawn escaped her as she nudged their bedroom door open with her hip and she made quick work of changing her clothes and climbing into bed. Attending a birthday party for one of their friends kids had been a great idea, bring Haruki and Ichiro, let them run around, burn some energy off and tire themselves out whilst her and Katsuki caught up with their friends and old class mates.
She sighed happily as she fell onto her bed, face hitting the cool surface of her soft pillows. There was a soft pad of feet and the quiet swish of their bedroom door closing and Ochako hummed as the bed dipped with the press of his knee between her legs, his warm hands ghosting across the backs of her thighs. "Kats," she whispered. He didn't say anything as his hands skirted higher, lips following the same paths with slow butterfly kisses. He was silent as his fingers inched underneath her shirt, slowly pushing it up until he could settle his palms against her waist. His teeth nipped at her back, the flat of his tongue swiping across her Venus dimples and she chuckled. "Ichiro?"
"Sleeping like a damn rock." His fingers tightened their hold on her waist and she bit her lip as she was suddenly turned onto her back. She didn't get chance to see the look in Katsuki's eyes as he settled himself between her legs to rest his cheek against her stomach. Ochako raised a brow at the sudden change and carded her fingers through his hair, letting her nails drag against his scalp every now and then. It wasn't often the number three pro hero settled against Ochako in a strange silence that was thick with something on the tip of his tongue. He'd been quiet as they'd left Deku's place, quiet as he buckled Ichiro into his seat and near silent as he drove them home. She tried to think about what could be on his mind and if anything had happened at the birthday party. "I want another one." Oh. "A girl." Oh. Katsuki had spent most of his time at the party surrounded by their friends daughters, fingers dragging, tugging, braiding and styling their hair to their demands. He had a knack for hair styling, something he'd probably gotten from his few times spent at his Mother's fashion shoots, and all the little girls knew it and took full advantage with wide eyes, pouting lips and high squeaked pleas every time there was any kind of group event. And now his silence made sense. They hadn't talked about having another since Haruki had been born, maybe having spoken about it once or twice when he'd outgrown his baby clothes. "And this one's got to be fucking blonde."
She cackled at that, having enjoyed Katsuki's huffs when both Haruki and Ichiro had been born with her chocolate hair. Ichiro even had her eyes whilst Haruki at least had Katsuki's crimson gaze, which in Katsuki's opinion wasn't even right. "Too damn soft." They were both without a doubt Ochako's and both Mina and Eijiro had teased Katsuki that his genes seemed to be weak compared to Ochako's. Eijirou had come out of that argument with a few new bruises and a death threat from Katsuki. "Even if we did have a third, there's no guarantee."
He lifted his head to press a kiss to her stomach, "If she knows what's good for her she'll be a fucking girl."
"Katsuki!" Ochako laughed, "You can't threaten our hypothetical daughter."
Katsuki sat up onto his knees, lips curled into a smirk as he bracketed her in by her waist, "Fucking watch me." He turned his gaze back down to Ochako's stomach. "You hear me you little shit? When your Mom finally decides to agree with me, you're going to be a good baby and be a fucking girl or there'll be problems."
Ochako shoved one hand to his face as she squirmed with laughter, her other hand coming up to try to muffle the laughs so as to not wake their two sleeping sons. "Katsuki."
He grinned as he crawled up her body and pulled her hand away from her mouth, pinning it to the bed. "You didn't say no."
She stuck her tongue out at him and finally felt her giggles dying down. "I didn't say yes either."
"Cheeks," he growled, lips curling into a dangerous smirk. After a few quiet seconds his features softened and he captured her lips in a gentle press. "I'm serious."
She hummed and brought her free hand up to cup his cheek, thumb brushing over a shrapnel scar he'd gotten two years ago that highlighted his cheek. "I'll think about it."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Well?" Katsuki blurted as he stared at the monitor that showed the ultrasound of the third addition to the Bakugo household.
"Katsuki," Ochako chided, flipping her hand back to swat at his shoulder.
Their sonographer ignored his attitude with a smile to her face. Thank God there were people who could put up with her husband's attitude besides her. "I'm trying my best Mr Bakugo, however the little one is very lively."
"Yeah," Ochako hummed, "tell me about it."
Katsuki glared at Ochako's stomach, "Quit moving you damn brat."
The Sonographer peered over at Katsuki with an amused smile before she turned back to the small screen. "Unfortunately, we don't have the time to sit around and wait for Bakugo Junior to settle down. But, it looks healthy and it's clearly very active. I don't see any problems so far."
Katsuki's eyes narrowed, "Little shit."
Ochako swatted his shoulder again and allowed the cream to be cleaned from her stomach. "Thank you. That's what's important right now." She could feel her husband's glare and ignored him with a grin. Their son or daughter was healthy, lively, active and a nightmare for their father already. As she righted her clothes and stood back onto her feet Katsuki accepted the printed ultrasound with a glare at the picture. Ochako knew that he wouldn't be upset if their third child turned out to be another boy, but a part of her was also hoping for it to be a girl. The drive home had been filled with curses from himself, more so than normal, and Ochako answered the waiting questions from their friends with a shrug emoji and a comment of, "Kid wouldn't stay still." Momo sent her well wishes and said she completly understood. Even hers and Shoto's ultrasound had been as much use and both expectant parents wished each other better luck at their next scan.
Haruki and Ichiro ambushed them the moment they got home, Haruki wrapping his arms around Ochako's waist with wide eyes. "What is it? What is it?"
Ichiro rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet with an excited grin, "Is it a girl?"
"We don't know," Katsuki huffed and he scooped their eldest up and held him over his shoulder in a fireman's lift. "You been good for your grandmother?"
"They've been wonderful," Mrs Uraraka said as she approached the couple.
"Thanks, Mom," Ochako said and she hugged the older woman.
"So, when's it due?"
"July 2nd," Katsuki said. Ichiro laughed behind him as he held the boy by his feet over his shoulders. "You good back there kid?"
"Yeah!"
"Good!" Haruki turned his attention to Katsuki as well and he jumped up, his hands outstretched. "Hang on, Ruki." He let go of one of Ichiro's legs to wrap his arm behind him and drag the nine year old against his side. He reached down and hooked Haruki in his other arm and marched them across their living room to drop them onto the large couch. Both boys jumped up and at their Father again and as he managed to grab Haruki his phone rang. "Crap," he muttered and he dropped their four year old onto the couch again with a grin as he pulled his phone from his pocket. "I got to go," he said and he ruffled Ichiro's hair and turned back towards his wife. He pecked her lips with a "Good luck, stay safe," from her and he pressed a hand to her stomach. "Remember," he pointed at her stomach, "girl." And he was out the door after a quick peck to Mrs Uraraka's cheek.
Mrs Uraraka turned to her daughter with a knowing smirk, "Is he still scared of your father?"
Ochako chuckled as she took the jucie box from Haruki's hands and opened it for him, "You mean since he threatened all future generations of Katsuki's if he ever hurt me? Yeah, he's still scared."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a press of lips to her neck and a pair of warm arms circling her shoulders. "You should be resting," Katsuki mumbled as he reached for the sponge and plate in her hand.
"I can clean some plates!"
He hummed and she could feel his smirk. Katsuki settled the offending items down and wrapped his arms around her, sliding one hand over her round stomach. "Cheeks, let me take care of you both. That's why I'm here." She puffed her cheeks out a huff. It was nice that Katsuki would happily make her sit and rest herself whilst he took care of the house work, and he did exactly that as much as could around hero work. He'd reduced his hours so that he could their sons lunches, get them to bed, prepare dinner, clean the house, grab groceries and keep the household running whilst Ochako literally put her feet up. She wanted to argue that she'd been pregnant before and knew what she could and couldn't do, but she also knew that this pregnancy had been the worst so far. Horrendous morning sickness, kicking in her stomach at all hours of the day and night, heartburn, leg cramps, being overly sensitive emotionally, being overly cranky, back ache, lethargy. This was the worst pregnancy of Ochako's life and she was ready for it to be over.
"Fine," she huffed, feeling her emotions crank from content to pissed immediately. And now she really needed to pee, again, for the fourth time in that hour alone.
"Hey!" Katsuki shouted and she slipped her hand out of his grip. Yes, she was being irrational, but she was the one carrying what some of the other girls had jokingly dubbed the spawn of satan since she'd complained about all of her issues. The only person who had even come close to experiencing torture was Kyoka who had made Kaminari cry and hide in Sero's house for a week.
"I'm going to rest!" she yelled. "Like you said!"
"Ochako."
She froze at the whisper of her name and felt panic bubble inside of her chest. Why did he sound scared? He'd seen worse from her and it was a few seconds before she turned, letting out a sigh that made he entire body sag. When her eyes locked onto him she froze again. His eyes were fixed on the floor by her feet, wide and concerned and he seemed pale. Instinctively she rubbed her hands over her stomach and bit her lip as she finally felt something trickle down her leg. "What-" she whispered and she tried to look down at herself and spotted a hint of red. "Katsuki?" she cried and her emotions dropped into her stomach.
His eyes locked onto hers and for a moment they just stared at one another, then he moved first, ushering her over to her shoes as he snatched his phone and keys. "We're going," he said.
Tears pricked at the corners of Ochako's cheeks as she propped one hand against the wall to steady herself. "Katsuki," she whimpered, scared at what that thin line of blood meant. She pressed a hand to her stomach, worried her bottom lip between her teeth and pressed ever so slightly against her stomach. Of all the times for their baby to stop moving, now was not it. "I can't feel it," she cried, "Katsuki it's not-"
He cupped her face and pressed his head to hers, "It'll be fine. You've been feeling the brat all morning. It'll be fine."
She sniffed as she latched a hand around his wrist, "One more month." And she felt another trickle on the inside of her leg, making her let out a cry.
He kissed her temple and snagged their coats and a couple of towels, "It'll be fine. Everything will be okay."
Thank god the kids are in school, she thought dully as Katsuki bundled them out of the door, phone pressed to his ear. She couldn't even focus on where she was walking without his arm around her and she was left to cradle her stomach with her head pressed against the window. Katsuki was saying something to her or the phone or both, she didn't know. All she did know was that something wasn't right and she regretted her earlier thoughts for all of this to be over.
By the time they'd made it to the hospital she could barely feel her legs and Katsuki had had to carry her through the emergency doors, yelling for somebody to help them now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Little terror trying to kill your Mom. What are you thinking?" Ochako blinked blearily at Katsuki's soft voice and she screwed her eyes shut at a wave of pain coursing through her. She wasn't even aware she'd hissed or made any sound until there was a hand in hers and she blinked up to see Katsuki tiredly smiling down at her. "How you doing?" he whispered.
"I hurt," she mumbled.
The corners of his lips twitched and he perched on the edge of the bed to press a kiss to her temple. "I love you, I love you so fucking much. You're incredible, you know that?"
Ochako hummed and let herself lean against her husbands side, making a point to ignore the tears in his voice. The last time he'd sounded so emotional was when she'd ended up in the hospital two years ago due to a villain incident. She'd had a nasty blow to the head and had been unconscious for three days and a scar for her efforts. After what felt like forever, with Katsuki holding her against his side, pressing kisses to her temple and cooing, she finally cracked her eyes open and peered over at the tiny bundle in his other arm. Warmth bloomed in her chest and she felt a new wave of tears tickle the corners of her eyes.
"I got my fucking girl," Katsuki beamed and Ochako laughed as she melted even more against his side. "Fucking demon of a child for what she's put you through, but a girl."
"I want to hold her."
Katsuki withdrew his arm to shuffle in his seat before he handed over their daughter to her mother. Ochako's smile widened into a watery grin as she peered down at the tiny baby wrapped in an obscene amount of blanket. She reached a hand up to brush a finger over the obviously very blonde tufts of hair and she gasped when their daughter- daughter- opened her eyes and made a noise as she wriggled and Ochako cooed with renewed emotions. "She looks like you."
Katsuki chuckled, "It's about fucking time. Shitty hair can kiss my ass now."
Ochake laughed and fell against his side, eyes fixed on their daughter's red eyes that matched her Father's fiery own. "What do you want to call her?"
There was silence for nearly a full minute before Katsuki said, "Okimi?"
"Okimi," she repeated and the little girl in question wriggled her arms free into a tiny stretch and curled back up, eyes closing in content. Ochako hummed and nodded her head, "Okimi Bakugo."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ichiro treated Okimi like she was made of glass and Haruki didn't want to pick her up in case he hurt her. Ochako was thankful that there were no undelrying health issues so far from the little girl's nearly five week early birth and Katsuki was totally wrapped around her tiny fingers, even if he did deny it. Which is why Ochako often found Katsuki either sprawled on the couch, tiny bundle on his chest or slouched in the rocking chair in the nursery, Okimi drooling an impressively large wet patch into his shoulder.
If the pregnancy had been bad then the first year of her life had been hell. Okimi liked to wake up almost every hour, crying and screaming until she usually got a full feed and anytime Katsuki grumbled or swore at the "fucking greedy gremlin" their daughter usually stopped her crying long enough to blink up at him, twist in the blankets and giggle, arms beating back and forth in her cute little Ground Zero or Uravity onesies. Ochako had put her in a Deku one once and Katsuki had almost burnt the thing when he'd seen it, until Okimi promptly threw up all over herself and the onesie, making the blonde hero laugh and snap an image to Deku. "This is what my kid thinks of you already." The punch to his arm from Ochako had been worth it as he'd cleaned her up and changed her clothes.
But Ochako wouldn't change any of it for the world as she watched Haruki surround Okimi with his favourite stuffed toys whilst Ichiro insisted on feeding his little sister. She just knew she would grow up with two brothers who would fight the world for her.
Even as Okimi started to grow and talk, she had every boy in the family wrapped happily around her finger. Ichiro always picked her up when she asked for it, Haruki handed her whatever stuffed teddy she asked for.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things everybody had learnt about Okimi Bakugo through play dates and meet ups:
- Likes spicy food just like Katsuki
- Found it hilarious when her Dad yelled
- Hates socks
- Always pulls them off
- Always getting Ichiro to float her with his quirk, much to her parents dismay and horror
- Best friends with Aito Todoroki (who was only three months older than her)
- Climbs into Katsuki's lap to eat his food
- Her first word had been "Cheeks" much to everyone's amusement
- Loved sleeping in the same bed as Haruki
- Could climb out of anything and had terrfied her parents more than once ("How the hell did she get on top of the fridge?" "Ichiro?" "He better not have!" "THE BABY GATE WAS LOCKED! WHY IS SHE AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS!")
- Disliked Deku (Katsuki found this to be hilarious)
- Had a strange like for Denki
- Always sad when her play dates with Aito and Hiroyoki Kirishima ended
- Hates carrots
- Knew the art of ignoring her parents with a shit eating grin
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ochako let out a breath as she fastened the hand cuffs into place, a deep frown furrowed in her brows. Lately it felt as though villains, even low life ones, had been causing more trouble than usual. They'd been more active and it felt as though something big was coming. And it wasn't just herself who had noticed this, it had been the other heros too. All those years ago the League of Villians had managed to just scrape an escape from the heroes and liked to resurface every now and then to show that they still mattered and with every resurface came deaths, chaos and destruction.
There was an explosion behind her and she glanced over her shoulder to see her husband blasting another villain into the ground, yelling at him to "Know your place, asshole!" before he cuffed him to a lamp post and looked around them. There had been numerous incidents all through the city, all through Japan that had popped up simultaneously, putting all heroes on edge and in silent agreement to be in radio contact with each other, just in case.
"We're good!" Denki shouted breathlessly.
Ochako hummed as she surveyed the damage. They'd managed to get civilians out of the area before anything major had happened and the damage was minimised to just two streets and three buildings. "We're all set over here," she let everybody know.
There were sirens in the distance and she prayed that everybody else was fine, counting her thanks as everybody's voices started to trickle over the lines. Katsuki was behind her, yelling at some civillians who'd started to surround them and clamour for autographs and she let out a sigh. Some things didn't change.
"All clear!" Eijiro shouted.
"Has anybody heard from Momo or Shoto?" Tenya asked.
Ochako's stomach twisted a little at that. She'd been hearing Momo all through the fights and now that she thought about it, she'd been strangely quiet for a while now.
"If they're fucking playing nookie I'll murder them bo-"
"Ochako, Katsuki," Shoto shouted at them over their comms and Ochako did not like the sound of urgency in his voice. She felt her stomach knot again and looked over at her husband and she could tell that his shoulders were tense in anticipation. "There's been an incident at the nursery."
"What?" Katsuki growled.
The nursery Okimi and Aito attended. "Shoto?" Ochako whispered.
"Momo's already on her way. We tried to call you-" Ochako scrambled at her pockets, upset, hurt and pissed when she found her phone to have a large crack down a very black and unresponsive screen. Katsuki never took his phone with him on the job and was even less likely to when she was with him. "The police are there and-"
"Police?" Ochako echoed and she double checked that the villain in front of her wasn't going anywhere.
"We're coming," Katsuki mumbled and Ochako nodded, trying to ignore the fear creeping into her stomach. Had one of the villains attacks gotten too close to the nursery? What if their kids had gotten hurt? And if their kid was hurt what about anybody else's? Oh god Okimi- "Oi," Katsuki's hand on her shoulder pulled her from her spiralling thoughts and she swallowed a lump in her throat as she took off after Katsuki. Their agencies could yell at them later for the misuse of their quirks to get themselves across town, she couldn't care less at the minute and as they turned the last corner she almost lost her balance and fell over. One side of the nursery was collapsed, the adjoining playground damaged and the floor torn up. Momo's signature ponytail was visible in front of the gates, little four year old Aito clutching tightly to her shoulders with his head of red tinted white hair buried in her shoulder. Shoto was off to one side, his hero costume torn from the recent attacks, talking to a police officer. The nursery teachers were huddling other children together as parents trickled in to scoop their baby up and clutch them tightly to their chest. Ochako froze, eyes looking over all of the children as she failed to spot a familar head of yellow hair. Katsuki was already marching forward, pausing when he noticed that she was following him and reaching back to tug her forward. "Icy-Hot! Where's Okimi?"
It was the officer who approached Katsuki, his hands raised and his face twisted into- pity? Ochako felt tears prickle her eyes as she stepped past them to look at the children again. She couldn't see Okimi. Where was their baby? Their daughter? Why couldn't she see her? "Mr Bakugo, I'm sorry can we-"
"What?" Katsuki barked, voice just on the edge of verballly maiming the guy.
Shoto was still on the periphery, eyes glancing from one half of the married couple to the other and Ochako didn't like the look in his eyes. Something wasn't right. "Okimi!" she shouted. Her eyes glanced over to Momo who caught her gaze, stared at her before she looked ready to cry as she slapped one hand over her mouth. "Baby?" Ochako tried again.
"Villains attacked the nursery," Shoto blurted. Brown and red rounded on him and years of being their friends made Shoto invulnerable to the murder in Katsuki's shocked gaze and the panic in Ochako's wide eyed stare. Shoto glanced away and clearly had trouble with the words that he was trying to say. Ochako tentatively reached out and he snapped his eyes up with anguish before he managed a cracked, "Th-they took h-er."
They took her. They took her. They... took... her. They... ... took... ... her... Ochako was numb. They took her? Villains took her daughter? She couldn't even find her voice. Villains took Okimi? Why? What could they- she was four. A kid. Took h-?
Katsuki snatched the front of Shoto's costume and dragged him to himself, "THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY?"
"Katsuki," Shoto started and Ochako glanced up at her husband to see the corners of his eyes were wet, he ground his teeth together in a loud snarl and the muscles of his arms shook. "I- I'm sorry."
"Mr Bakugo, please-"
Katsuki knocked the officer's arm away from him as he pinned Shoto in place, anger radiating from him as he shook, the tears finally breaking free as they slowly slid down his face. "What. Did. You. Say?"
"Villains attacked the nursery," Shoto said slowly, "and took your daughter."
His grip on Shoto's costume loosened just enough for the number two hero to pull himself out of Katsuki’s grip. “Wh-why?” Katsuki whispered, eyes losing their wrath and softening into fear as he stared past Shoto’s head. “Why the fuck-” his voice cracked and Ochako couldn’t hold herself together any more, tears running freely down her face. She shook her head as the officer repeated the harsh truth, yes, villains had attached the nursery and had taken Okimi. The police had already been informed and other officers were taking statements from the nursery staff. There were no other children missing and this seemed like the work of the League. They would do their best to find their daughter.
Ochako had stopped listening after Shoto’s statement, hands clutching at her hero outfit with sobs that shook her body. Her little girl, her daughter her baby. She couldn’t think, she was numb, she could feel anything but empty and oh god why would they take theirs? Why Okimi? Why- She was pulled into a very warm, firm chest and she didn’t care who it was as she wrapped her arms around them and sobbed. Was this why there’d been so many crimes lately? Was it all building up to this? Her sobs wracked her body as she tried to convince herself that this wasn’t real, it couldn’t be. What could the league possibly want with a four year old? What- Her knees gave out and she could faintly hear Katsuki whispering brokenly in her ear, words too quiet for her to make out. Her mind was too loud to focus on any thing. Ichiro and Haruki. Okimi. Her parents. His parents. The press. Their friends. Okimi. Her bedroom. The league of villains. Okimi. “Why?” she cried into the chest that held her, which she learnt was Katsuki’s. “W-why?”
“We’ll find her, Ochako,” Katsuki breathed hoarsely and she could hear the doubt in his voice. They hadn’t had a lead on the League in years, what were the chances they’d get one now? “We’ll find her.”

Strangely, You Feel Like Home
Since his last semester of college, Shouyo had been the father of twins - two rays of sunshine that he didn't expect but loves nonetheless. He gave up everything to be the father he wished he had, including his own dream of becoming a professional volleyball player. Instead he settled for becoming a volleyball coach at the local elementary school, making a little of each dream coexist as he taught his twins how to play volleyball.
However, when Shouyo discovers that his extremely rude neighbor Tobio is the same Tobio that plays professional volleyball for the very team Shouyo dreamed of being on, and that said Tobio wants Shouyo to coach his child, he can't help but think it's a prank.
Or, the Single Parents AU that nobody asked for.
A/N: Hi everyone! Of course I’m starting another multi-chapter fic because Like Friends Do is wrapping up and I need to keep myself busy to avoid the fact that college is starting back up just a few months from now. If you’d prefer, you can read this on AO3 by clicking here. If not, you can read chapter 1 below! Thanks again for reading!
Tobio awoke to the sound of shrill laughter just outside his window. He blinked blearily, shielding his eyes from the mid-afternoon sun shining in through the blinds he hadn’t bothered to close. He grumbled, ready to go tell the children to play somewhere else – but then it was accompanied by a much deeper voice, that of an adult, laughing along with them.
He gripped the bridge of his nose and forced himself to sit up. Of all the days this could happen, it just had to be the day he arrived home. He just wanted some peace and quiet, was that too much to ask?
Tobio pushed his legs off the side of the bed and forced himself to his feet. Every single one of his muscles ached at him to disappear back under the covers and perhaps throw on some noise-cancelling headphones, but when that deep voice yelled a shrill, “Gotcha!” followed by one (or perhaps two?) children laughing, he thought angrily that it probably wouldn’t help, anyway. He wandered into the kitchen and found his and his nephew’s multiple suitcases. He rubbed his shoulder and cracked his neck, remembered the struggle it had been just to get Ichiro to sleep on the plane…
Ichiro.
Tobio tiptoed up the stairs of his town home. He hoped that the children outside hadn’t woken him from his nap – he rarely slept as it was. To his surprise, when he pushed open Ichiro’s bedroom door, the toddler still laid splayed out on the bed, his rear hanging in the air while his plump cheek pressed lazily against his pillow. Tobio smiled, padding across the room as quietly as possible. He raked a gentle hand through his nephew’s dark hair, leaned down and pressed a kiss to that plump cheek. Anyone who saw them together commented that they looked like father and son, usually assumed such, and he’d never bothered to correct them. He supposed he was more of a father to the boy than his actual father, anyway.
But the shrieks continued outside. They grated on Tobio’s nerves, and he calmly left the small bedroom (so as not to wake the child). The second he closed Ichiro’s door he stormed down the steps and swung open the front door of his townhome.
He sighed and raked a trembling hand through his dark hair. Of all the days for someone to be moving in, it just had to be today.
Two little kids, a boy and a girl, with the most vibrant orange hair came pounding on stubby legs down the sidewalk with tiny boxes in their hands. Behind them, Tobio assumed their father carried a much larger box in his hands – he couldn’t see the man’s face, just a few unruly orange curls poking out from the top of the box. He pinched the bridge of his nose again. “Oi,” he called, startling the children and the father alike.
The man stopped and set his box down. “Oh, hi!” he waved, voice bright and chipper. “You must be our new neighbor!”
“Can you keep it down a bit?” Tobio tried his best not to sound grumpy, but he already had a short temper when it came to any child besides his Ichiro.
“Sorry, sorry!” the man rubbed his neck. He waved the children to continue on, and they fumbled their way into the town home next door. The man jogged up the short driveway towards the porch Tobio stood on, his curls bouncing with his steps. He outstretched a hand, a warm, sunny smile plastered on his face. It almost made Tobio sick how energetic he could be, and he barely knew him. “I’m Hinata Shouyo. And you are?”
“Tobio,” he said shortly and shook his hand. “Can you please just try to be a little quieter? My boy and I got in late last night from the United States—”
“Tobio, ah?” Shouyo tapped his chin. “How old is your son?”
Tobio startled at the sudden topic change, not bothering to correct him that Ichiro wasn’t his son. “He’s—he’s almost four.”
“How exciting!” Shouyo chirped. “My babies are turning three next month.”
“You’re a little young to have kids, aren’t you?” Tobio asked, tilting his head to the side curiously.
Shouyo laughed. “You’re not the first person to say that.”
The twins came stomping their feet out of the town home next door, laughing and chasing each other around the fenced-in front yard with dolls in their hands. “That’s my cue, Tobio,” Shouyo watched the children run around the front yard. “We’ll try to be quiet! Hopefully we’ll see each other soon!”
Shouyo jogged back down the driveway, turned and ran towards his own yard, and chased his kids around. Tobio sighed and rubbed his temple; they were no quieter in their endeavors than before. His only hope was that the town home walls were thick, since they shared a wall.
Ichiro tugged at Tobio’s sleeve next to him. “Uncle,” he mumbled in a quiet, sleep-filled voice. “Hungry.”
“What’re you hungry for?” Tobio asked, bending down to scoop him up. “We have to go grocery shopping soon. Want to pick something out there?”
A pout settled on the boy’s lips. “No grocery store,” he grumbled.
“We have to,” Tobio replied in his gentle voice, combing down some of the stray hairs poking up from Ichiro’s head. “I’ll get you a treat if you behave, how does that sound?”
The pout melted away and replaced itself with a shy smile. Ichiro hugged Tobio around the neck and pulled at his hair. “Treat!” he chirped.
Tobio walked Ichiro back into the house to dress themselves for a trip to the store. Though Shouyo and his children already grated on his nerves, part of him hoped that Ichiro could at least make some new friends from the arrangement.
***
Shouyo made the decision shortly after two that afternoon to call his friends from high school, Sawamura and Koushi, for some help moving. He realized (after several failed attempts) that he couldn’t carry his bedframe alone, nor could he carry his couch or dining table by himself. They brought their adopted daughter, Hikari, who had been tasked with occupying the twins, Mitsu and Haruto. With three sets of adult hands instead of the former arrangement, moving boxes and furniture didn’t take even half as long as Shouyo expected, and just before six that evening the three men collapsed next to each other on the couch.
“This place is pretty big,” Koushi noted, looking around the spacious town home. “Nice wood floors, too. Is Hitoka covering it?”
“Yeah,” Shouyo nodded. “She’s over in America again until the end of the month with her job, so she’s been sending money to help cover daycare and such while I packed everything up.”
Hikari and the twins came storming out of the downstairs bedroom, squealing and wielding foam swords that Shouyo couldn’t remember purchasing for the kids. They seemed to be having fun, though, and he had no problem with it – so long as they didn’t get hurt.
“How long is Hitoka staying in town?” Sawamura asked.
“At least until the twins’ birthday party,” Shouyo replied. “Probably a little longer than last time. I know she’s getting a little anxious being away for so long at a time.”
“It’s really great you both kept in touch,” Koushi murmured, almost to himself. Shouyo couldn’t help but agree.
“They’re her kids, too,” he said softly. “I couldn’t ever let what happened in the past get between her and these little rays of sunshine.”
His daughter, Mitsu, pounced on him, squealing and laughing and swinging the foam sword at his head with the accuracy of a blind animal. Shouyo laughed with her and grabbed her under the arms, twirling her around. He growled in a mock-menacing tone. “Grr, daddy’s gonna getcha!” he cried, blew raspberries into her stomach. Mitsu kicked her feet and screamed, her giggles echoing off the nearly empty walls of the home. Soon after, Haruto jumped at Shouyo’s legs, screaming for similar treatment.
“You want daddy to get you, too?” Shouyo bellowed, followed by an evil laugh. He let Mitsu down and the girl ran for Hikari, grabbing at her dress. He scooped Haruto up in a swift movement and the boy squirmed in his grasp, his laughter just as shrill as Mitsu’s. Koushi and Sawamura watched with amusement.
Eventually Haruto squirmed himself out of Shouyo’s grasp and he let the boy down. Shouyo collapsed back onto the couch, laughing to himself. “I don’t know how you do it,” Koushi said finally.
“What’s that?” Shouyo asked, looked over at him with a lazy smile.
“They’re so energetic at that age, and there’s two of them,” Koushi sighed. He let his head fall back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling with a sort of dazed smile on his lips. “I could barely even keep track of Hikari when she was that age.”
Sawamura laughed, then, nodding in agreement. “I did most of the chasing when she was that age,” he added.
“They’re a full-time job, for sure,” Shouyo said with a gentle sigh. “But they sleep through the night, so at least I’ve got that.”
“Hikari never slept through the night,” Koushi laughed. “I’m jealous.”
The children circled around the kitchen island then came back at full force, yelling and stomping through the living area that the three adults had settled into. “Should we order a pizza?” Sawamura leaned over and murmured to Shouyo, tried to keep the children from hearing. It was for naught, though, as the children erupted into cheers.
“Pizza! Pizza!” they shouted in unison, grabbing hands and dancing around in a circle.
Shouyo laughed and even got up with them, danced around and broke apart his children’s hands so he could fit between them. “I’ll pay,” he said over the chants. “It’s the least I could do for getting your help today.”
***
Despite the twins’ normally-decent sleep habits, neither of the two children got a good amount of sleep their first night. Shouyo couldn’t sleep much, either; but considering how exhausted he felt after moving all the furniture, he assumed his restlessness stemmed from his kids’.
Cranky whines and balled fists slamming into high chairs had Shouyo ready to put in some ear plugs and just go back to bed anyway – but still he wore his best morning smile as he fought with each of his children to eat their breakfasts. “Mitsu-chan, don’t you want your breakfast? The big monster is gonna eat it if you don’t!” he cried, ready to shovel a bite of Mitsu’s favorite oatmeal into his own mouth.
“Yuck!” Mitsu shouted in response, swatted at the bowl for good measure. Shouyo thanked his fast reflexes for catching it before it toppled onto the ground.
“Yuck,” Haruto giggled beside Mitsu, swinging his legs under his chair.
“Babies have to eat their food before they can go play volleyball,” Shouyo said pointedly, offering another spoonful to each of them.
“Bally-ball!” Haruto chanted, slammed his fists down with more energy now.
A knock came at Shouyo’s door. He fought back a groan – who could possibly be here now?
He chose to ignore it in lieu of caring for his screaming toddlers, but it came again, more urgent this time. He sighed and scooped two squirming children out of their high chair seats, rocked them carefully as he yelled out a, “Coming!”
It took some maneuvering to open the door, but when he did, he saw a cranky, tired-looking Tobio. “Oh, good morning!” Shouyo set his children down, who immediately took to hiding behind one of each of his legs.
Tobio had the bridge of his nose pinched between his fingers. “Hi,” he said shortly. “I—uh, just was wondering if you could keep it down. Just a little. We um—” he waved his hand towards the wall connecting their homes— “we share a wall. It’s a little thin.”
Shouyo fought a scowl with a grin, and it ended up coming off as some weird (perhaps constipated) look. “Haruto, Mitsu, how about you go pick out some clothes for school today? Daddy will be there in a minute.”
The twins didn’t need to be given a second excuse to leave Tobio at the door; he seemed to radiate an energy that screamed ‘I hate kids’. Mitsu sniffled as she went, fought off a bout of tears that would likely come later that day.
The smile melted from Shouyo’s face and was instead replaced with a grimace, and had Tobio the mental capacity to reason with himself after losing out on a night of sleep, he might have realized he shouldn’t have come on such a busy morning. “Listen, Tobio,” Shouyo’s voice dropped deep, “I don’t know if you think you have some sort of angel kid or what, but I’m trying to raise twins on my own here and I’m sorry if they’re a little loud. We’ve been here exactly sixteen hours and you’ve already told me twice that my children are loud, but guess what? I know! I live with them!”
Never one to back away from a challenge, though, Tobio sneered and leaned closer. “My Ichiro never cried like your kids did all night last night. What, are you just unfit to be a parent?”
Shouyo practically steamed at the ears. “Don’t you dare try and tell me I’m unfit to be a parent,” he growled. “I gave up everything for my kids and I may not be the best father to them, but I’m doing what I can.”
Tobio couldn’t help but feel like he’d stepped on a land mine. Rather than rile the man up more, he tched and walked away without another word; had Shouyo’s children been at school, Shouyo would have likely gone after him, yelled some more, maybe sent a punch into that smug face of his. But Mitsu and Haruto’s voices chattered in the downstairs bedroom, and Shouyo would never do anything so cruel with his children’s watchful eyes on him.
It took Shouyo approximately forty-three seconds to fix his children’s outfit choices. Mitsu had settled for a bright pink dress with one green and one blue shoe – on the wrong feet, to top it off. Shouyo fixed her shoes while Haruto proudly marched around the room, a stuffed frog hanging out of his little chubby fist. His pants were inside-out and he’d put on two tee shirts. “Which one do you want to wear, buddy?” Shouyo asked while he peeled each of them off.
“Both!” Haruto chirped.
“How about one today and one tomorrow?”
“Both, daddy!”
Shouyo sighed, smiled to himself. “Okay, sure. Which one do you want on top?”
They tried breakfast again shortly after. It went much better this time, though Shouyo did have to take Haruto’s top shirt off of him due to most of his breakfast ending up on his shirt rather than in his mouth. Still, less than a half hour after Tobio’s rude greeting, Shouyo had each of his children’s bags thrown over his shoulders and they were walking to the local elementary school.
The walk itself wasn’t far – part of the reason Shouyo moved where he did. Though, if he’d known how grumpy his next door neighbor would be, he likely would have moved somewhere else. They lived in a small town just on the outskirts of Shouyo’s hometown, somewhere he never imagined himself moving back to. The elementary school was in a suburban area, surrounded by gorgeous houses, with a playground that spanned the size of half a football field at least. The gymnasium sat off the main building just a little ways, and just after Shouyo walked Mitsu and Haruto to the daycare room, he himself was escorted to the gymnasium.
“Can’t believe you decided to get a job here,” Kei droned, adjusting his glasses. He’d started teaching at the school just after college.
Shouyo laughed chipperly. “I love volleyball, I love my kids. I don’t see how this wasn’t the perfect option for me.”
“You’re right,” Kei sighed. “This probably was the perfect option for you.”
When they stepped inside, Shouyo found that the gymnasium was much larger than expected; there were large curtains separating the gymnasium into four half-courts. “We host a lot of the local middle school and high school sporting events here,” Kei explained. “Tournaments and such.”
“Right,” Shouyo nodded.
“We have two programs,” Kei further explained. “We run the younger kids’ camp just after lunch, while the older kids finish their school day. Then, the older kids come in.” He glanced over at Shouyo as he spoke. “It’s a little sad to see this is where you ended up, Shouyo.”
Shouyo laughed in response. “Maybe so,” he countered, “but I’d rather be on the court, even if it’s a small one, than in an office.”
“Sure,” Kei agreed finally.
“Kei!” a familiar voice called, and at the doorway of the gymnasium stood Tadashi, pushing a stroller ahead of him. “The front desk said I could find you here.”
“Well, you found me,” Kei replied with a mock-annoyed tone.
“Hold on, is that…Shouyo?”
“Hey, Tadashi!” Shouyo waved, his wide smile growing even wider.
“What are you doing here?” Tadashi asked, wheeled the stroller further into the gymnasium. “Last I heard, you and Hitoka were planning on settling down and—”
“Change of plans,” Shouyo rubbed his neck sheepishly. “Who’s this little one?” he gestured to the stroller, peeking at the small child that had drifted to sleep in the midst of their ride.
“Yuki,” Kei replied, ran a lazy hand through the child’s long, blonde hair. “Our daughter.”
Shouyo slapped a hand over his mouth. “You had a baby?!” he cried, though his voice was muffled by the hand clamped over his mouth.
Tadashi nodded, grin spread wide across his face. “Two winters ago, now.”
Shouyo sighed. “I guess I’ve missed a lot since I’ve been gone.”
“Not too much,” Kei replied. “We didn’t tell anyone about her until she was born, so.” He glanced at his watch impatiently. “Tadashi, mind waiting for me outside? I’ve got to finish showing Shouyo around.”
“Oh, I’ll be quiet!” Tadashi insisted.
“Yuki might not be,” Kei countered.
“She’s sleeping,” Shouyo replied. “Plus, I want to be here when she does wake up so she can meet Uncle Shouyo.”
Kei sighed, clicked his tongue, but didn’t protest. He led Shouyo through the gymnasium, the locker rooms, and up to the balcony level. “Tooru should also be here soon,” Kei muttered finally, looking again at his watch. “He’s late. That’s so like him.”
“Tooru…” Shouyo mumbled. “You don’t mean…Oikawa Tooru?”
“I do,” Kei sighed. “He’s been working here part time for about two years now. I asked him to be here early today to greet you.”
Shouyo had never gotten the chance to play volleyball against Tooru in high school or college, but he’d heard amazing things. Those amazing things were proven true when Tooru went pro for a few years – known as the Grand King to most of his fans, including Shouyo himself – but had to quit due to a knee injury. He feared he’d lost his one and only chance to ever play against Tooru; now he would be working alongside him.
“Sorry I’m late!” Tooru chirped from below. Shouyo hung off the railing like a child, a wide grin on his face. Tooru’s eyes met Shouyo. “You the newbie?”
“That’s me!” Shouyo couldn’t contain himself; he leapt down from the balcony, eliciting a cry of surprise from Tadashi and an annoyed sigh from Kei. Tooru watched with a faltering smile as he rushed up to greet him. “Hinata Shouyo,” Shouyo bowed his head. “It’s a pleasure to meet you!”
“Oikawa Tooru,” Tooru offered his hand to Shouyo. “Pleasure’s all mine. Are you working here part time, too?”
“Starting today,” Shouyo nodded.
“In that case, why don’t you help me set up the nets?”
“Yes sir!”
***
The stampede of toddlers into the gymnasium just after lunchtime was the one thing Shouyo felt he wasn’t prepared for.
Tooru stood beside him with open arms while the children rushed up to him, and several children rushed up to Shouyo, too. They jumped at his legs and Shouyo laughed, knelt down to greet them. Mitsu and Haruto were amidst them, running up and trying to tackle Shouyo to the ground – and they succeeded. He laughed warmly as children tugged at his hair, his ears, his arms.
Tooru blew a whistle and the children clambered off him. “Hi everyone!” he chirped.
“Hi Tooru-san!” the preschoolers chanted in response. Mitsu and Haruto clung to Shouyo’s legs after he pushed himself back to his feet.
“Today we have a new coach!”
The children cheered and some of them fidgeted, seemingly ready to pounce at Shouyo again, but Tooru somehow managed to keep them in line. “Everyone, say hello to Shouyo-san!”
“Hi Shouyo-san!” the preschoolers echoed.
“Shouyo-san will be coaching all the chibis today!” Tooru clapped his hands together. “Raise your hand if you’re a chibi!”
“Chibi?” Shouyo mumbled under his breath. Tooru leaned over to him.
“Everyone under the age of four is considered a chibi,” he explained his metric system.
“Right,” Shouyo nodded.
It didn’t take long for toddlers to surround him; Shouyo nearly fell over with the force of the children coming for him. Mitsu and Haruto clung harder to him, and even through the excited screams and yells of the children Shouyo could hear their nervous whimpering. He ruffled their orange hair, tried to calm them down, but with the children shouting around them the two only held on tighter.
“Where are my small fries?” Tooru called from beside him, and the rest of the children surrounded him in a flurry. He laughed warmly, patting children on the head gently. “Let’s go, small fries! We’re going to start with some running!”
In a few moments Shouyo’s side of the gymnasium cleared, and he was left with his children for the day. He grinned at each of them. “Chibis!” he called out over them. “Let’s sit in a nice, big circle!”
The shape ended up more lopsided than a circle – looked closer to a figure-eight, even – and Shouyo sat as close to the center as he could, each of his children taking the spot directly to his sides. Most of the children fidgeted and mumbled, but the majority obeyed the order. Shouyo grabbed a stray volleyball just a few feet away on the floor. “Let’s roll the ball to each other! Ready?”
He rolled the ball across the circle, and while the children couldn’t quite get the ball to go all the way where they wanted it, others made up for it by crawling to the center and rolling it again. The circle dissipated quickly in favor of the new spots the children crawled to. Shouyo sighed. A laugh bubbled out of him and as he heard a whistle on the other side of the gymnasium, he rose to his feet. “Let’s play!”
The practice went smoothly, for the most part. Shouyo taught the children a little bit about receiving, using a few of the soft rubber balls stored away in the gymnasium’s storage closet. They played tag and ‘Keep Up’ – where they had to keep the ball from touching the ground – and by the end, most of the toddlers either sat on the floor or on the bleachers to the side. Shouyo prided himself in having more energy than his children most days, but today he felt just as drained, and when Tooru rounded the corner he had a tough time hiding his fatigue.
“Good work today!” Tooru said in a happy voice. “The last guy could barely keep up with the kids, but it looks like you’ve got them well-handled.”
“Yeah,” Shouyo exhaled, smiled. “Having twins will do that to you.”
“I was wondering if those were your chibis,” Tooru nodded towards Mitsu and Haruto, who both had collapsed onto the gymnasium floor and were napping. “The hair gives you away, Shouyo-chan.”
Shouyo chuckled and gripped at his vibrant hair for good measure. “That’s what everyone says,” he sighed. “Do you have a little one here, too?” he scanned the crowd for a face that looked similar to Tooru’s.
“Oh, not me,” Tooru replied with a soft chuckle. “I just love volleyball.”
“I used to watch your matches all the time,” Shouyo gushed. “Never got to play the legendary Grand King, though.”
Tooru waved his hand dismissively. “Ah, I haven’t heard that nickname in years. What team did you play for, Shouyo-chan?”
“Karasuno High,” Shouyo replied. “Then I played for my university, Yuunei.”
“You must know my old friend!” Tooru replied then. “Iwaizumi Hajime. You know him?”
“We played in university together!” Shouyo affirmed.
“His little one goes here,” Tooru explained further. “That little booger over there.” Tooru gestured to a child deemed as a ‘small fry’ that busied himself by bouncing a volleyball as high as he could. “I’m Uncle Tooru to him,” he bragged.
Before Shouyo could respond, he heard the gymnasium doors slide open. “Ah, pickup time!” Tooru chirped, grabbed for Shouyo’s hand and dragged him towards the door. “This is the worst part,” he added.
“Why?” Shouyo asked.
“We have to say goodbye to the chibis and the small fries!” Tooru replied, throwing a dramatic hand to his forehead. “It’s devastating!”
A few parents approached Shouyo, noticed he was new. He chatted with them and called for their children, who – for the most part – came running as soon as he called for them. He had to chase a few stubborn toddlers around that didn’t quite want to go home yet, and despite his annoyance and fatigue he laughed while he did, scooped them up and made them giggle.
The process went quite quickly. Soon there were only a few children left – minus Shouyo’s own. Hajime hadn’t shown up yet, and the parent of a dark-haired boy with the most piercing blue eyes had yet to present themselves. “Oh,” Tooru noted, looking at the boy, “Tobio-chan is back in town.”
“Tobio-chan?” Shouyo replied. He remembered, then, his grumpy neighbor and fought a grimace. “Oh, that asshole,” he grumbled.
“Yeah, that’s the one!” Tooru laughed. “How do you know Tobio-chan?”
“He’s my new neighbor,” Shouyo sighed. “Got all up in arms because my toddlers are too loud.” He sighed.
Someone knocked on the gymnasium door, despite it being swung open. “Hello?” called a familiar voice, and Shouyo turned around to see Hajime. “Oi, Shouyo!” Hajime stepped into the gymnasium, a rare smile across his face. “Nice to see you, bud!”
“What about me?” Tooru huffed a pout, scooped Hajime’s child up into his arms. The boy laughed and kicked his feet.
“I see you every damn day, Tooru,” Hajime huffed. “It’s been years since I’ve seen Shouyo!”
Shouyo clapped him on the back in a hug. “How are you, Hajime?”
“Better than I’ve ever been,” he replied with a sigh. “What’re you doing here? I thought you and Hitoka were jumping ship and heading for the United States.”
“She left for business,” Shouyo replied, “but we decided last-minute that I should stay and raise the kids here instead.”
On cue, Mitsu and Haruto came running, grabbed at Shouyo’s legs and begged to be carried. Shouyo scooped Haruto up and Hajime reached for Mitsu. “You remember me?” Hajime asked the girl. “You’ve gotten so big!”
Mitsu shied behind Shouyo’s legs.
“Would you like to come over for dinner?” Hajime asked. “There’s so much we need to catch up on.”
“We’d love to, but I’ve got stuff to unpack at home,” Shouyo rubbed his neck with his free hand. “Can you take a rain check?”
“Next week,” Hajime smiled.
From the doorway, a man cleared his throat. “Ichiro,” he called from the doorframe.
That dark-haired boy went running toward the voice that Shouyo (sadly) recognized as the grumpy voice that had complained to him – twice – about noisy toddlers. As if they aren’t noisy normally, Shouyo thought with a grimace. Still, he turned in the direction of the voice and to his dismay saw Tobio, who now looked well-rested but that grumpy expression still presented itself to him.
“The King is here!” Tooru teased from the other side of the gym, walked towards the door that Tobio stood at. “Tobio-chan, when did you get in?”
“Saturday night,” Tobio replied shortly. “Didn’t get much—”
Tobio’s eyes fell on the three matching heads of orange hair. “You,” he groaned.
“The ‘King’?” Shouyo muttered. “No…you’re not…the Tobio? Kageyama Tobio?!”
“That’s me,” Tobio replied simply.
“The insane setter?!” Shouyo cried, loud enough that Haruto tugged on his ear in annoyance.
“I wouldn’t say insane,” Tooru sneered. “People call him a ‘genius’, mostly.”
“But you’re such an asshole,” Shouyo mumbled.
“What did you call me?” Tobio barked.
Shouyo set Haruto down, much to the boy’s disappointment. He put a hand to his head, a laugh bubbling out of him as he tried to comprehend what he was hearing. Two of the best volleyball players in Japan – Tooru and Tobio – were in the gymnasium with Shouyo at this very moment, and he worked with one of them and neighbored the other. “This is a prank,” he said finally.
“Welcome back, Tobio,” Hajime said as if it were the most natural thing in the world that he would be standing in the same room as the King and the Grand King.
“I need to sit down,” Shouyo whispered.
“You act like they’re celebrities,” Hajime teased.
“Because they are!” Shouyo replied.
Hajime just shook his head and wandered over to Tooru’s side. “Can you watch Aito tomorrow until I get out of work?”
“How does that sound, Aito-chan?” Tooru looked at the boy in his arms. “Dinner with Uncle Tooru?”
“Can we have dino nuggets?” Aito asked, almost nervously. Hajime shook his head.
“Of course we can!” Tooru replied, stuck his tongue out at Hajime. “Uncle Tooru is the best, right?!”
“Uncle Tooru is the best!” Aito echoed.
In the meantime, Tobio had stepped further into the gymnasium with Ichiro practically glued to his side. He walked directly up to Shouyo, that scowl still prominent, and had Shouyo recovered from his shock at learning Tobio’s identity (he knew he recognized him from somewhere, but hadn’t been able to pin it down until then), he likely would have teased something about the man asking his children to be quiet again. Instead, Tobio stopped a few feet in front of him. “So,” he said, a little awkwardly, “you’re a volleyball coach, huh?”
Shouyo just nodded.
“Ichiro’s a good setter,” Tobio said sternly. “I’d like you to have him set.”
Shouyo shook his head a bit, a little confused by the request. “Tobio,” he said finally, “Ichiro’s still a toddler. We didn’t do any official volleyball today—”
“It’s a volleyball practice, isn’t it?” Tobio replied, voice surprisingly calm and completely betraying his ever-furrowing eyebrows.
“Yes, but they’re kids—”
“My boy is going to be a setter,” Tobio said, pinched the bridge of his nose. “If you can’t coach actual volleyball then I’ll have Tooru teach him.”
“No way,” Tooru called across the gymnasium. “Ichiro-chan isn’t getting any special treatment from me!”
Tobio growled under his breath. “What are you doing here, then?” he scowled back at Shouyo. “Following me? What?”
“I—I’m sorry?” Shouyo sputtered.
“If you can’t actually play volleyball—”
“Oh, I can play volleyball—”
“Prove it, then!” Tobio snapped. “If you can’t teach a toddler how to set, then you must not be very good at volleyball.”
“He’s a toddler!” Shouyo replied, voice rising. “I’m not going to teach a toddler how to set! I’m going to teach him the basics!”
“Setting is the basics!”
“Knock it off,” Tooru said sternly. “We’ll play a three-on-three. Kei and Tadashi have been looking for a reason to play again, anyway.”
Both men caught their breath from their yelling. “Fine,” Tobio muttered finally. “I’ll take this guy,” he gestured to Hajime, “and Kei.”
“That means I get to set to Shouyo-chan!” Tooru lilted. “I think we’ll make a great pair!”
But Shouyo’s gaze remained firmly on Tobio. “You’re on,” he grumbled, and only after Tobio stormed out of the gymnasium with Ichiro following behind him did he realize that he just agreed to a volleyball match against one of the best setters in the world.
