Some important characters in Skorcatha

The Windguide: The Ancient of Wind. It created the Wind beasts. Its personality is not known, but it is often thought of as having a carefree, “go with the flow” nature.

The Trenchlord: The Ancient of Water. It created the Water beasts. Its personality is thought to be wise, but selfish, keeping its knowledge to itself.

The Flameraiser: The Ancient of Fire. It created the Fire beasts. It’s said to be passionate, caring in some way about just about everything.

The Earthshaper: The Ancient of Earth. It created the Earth beasts. It’s steadfast, but stubborn, not doing anything unless it wants to.

The Stormchaser: The Ancient of Electricity. It created the Electric beasts. It’s apparently hardworking, constantly tinkering with things to see what works.

The Icestriker: The Ancient of Ice. It created the Ice beasts. Apparently, it’s stoic, but rather enjoys specific things about its natural world and “geeks out” about things it’s interested in.

The Lightseeker: The Ancient of Light. It created the Light beasts. Its personality seems to be serene, graceful, and stoic; it doesn’t bother with anything that doesn’t personally concern it.

The Shadowcrafter: The Ancient of Shadow. It created the Shadow beasts. Its personality seems to be that it cares more for others than it does for itself; almost to a fault. It’s lucky that Ancients can’t die.

The Sorcerer: The Ancient of Arcane. It created the Arcane beasts. It seems to be focused on science first and foremost. When it was born (and even now) its favorite question is “why?”.

Skorcath: The first dragon to ever utter a Beastish word, being their name. Nobody knows what species they were, but almost all say it doesn’t matter; they named this place after all.

Eagle’s Wing: The first Lizardman* to ever make peace with dragons. Their clan was Ptera.

*Lizardmen are the other sapient Skorcathan species besides dragons. There are nine known clans, Southern Tyranno, which resemble feathery tyrannosaurs, Hadro, which look like upright hadrosaurs, Raptor, which look like smaller theropods, Northern Tyranno, which look like leathery theropods, Cera, which are humans with horse bodies in place of their legs, Gila, which look like Gila monsters, Ptera, which are pterosaurs with shorter arms and longer legs, Mosa, which are mosasaurs with short legs and arms, and Teryx, which look like archaeopteryx.

I can be kind of a smartass for Cerberus about this and say "depends at which point in his timeline I answer", because there was a long time where he had no idea about the birch bark issue, just due to never really encountering it. Of course he's well aware of that these days. As far as anything else...well, not to my knowledge. There's always a chance for this, though. "Haven't encountered yet" gives a lot of scope, after all. 😉 And Kia, who so far in my experience doesn't have any allergies of note, would fall under the same "haven't encountered yet" umbrella. The "unknown until it is known" kind of deal again.

2. what surprisingly wouldn't make your oc sneeze?

Hmm...I'm going to answer for them both in one go here, because I can't think of anything for either of them where I'd be surprised at a lack of reaction. For Kia, there's nothing that I can specifically pinpoint and think "wow, can't believe that didn't make her sneeze", and for Cerberus, he is very deliciously predictable in that the things that I'd expect to make him sneeze pretty much always do. If this question is geared towards, say, common allergens that they don't react to, though? (Which has just occurred to me, lol) No animal allergies, at all, for either. I don't think it's a surprise, as such, but it is a common allergy source, so...I'll go with that.

8. what is your oc's preferred method for covering their sneezes, and why do they prefer this method?

Given the availability and the...build-up preparation time, Cerberus will opt for tissues every time. Failing that, and presuming he's neither carrying a handkerchief nor has the option to Create one, he's definitely a cover-with-crooked-elbow type - and if he's able and space allows, he'll turn away along with it. He's fastidious about covering and, although not germophobic, he's very hygiene-conscious and will choose the best covering option he has in whatever given circumstances. Kia's a little more lax about this and doesn't really have a preference, as such. Probably bended elbow also. She's someone who tends to have tissues with her, but uses them after the fact, not so much for actually covering with, unless she's sick.

12. how would your oc respond if they accidentally sneezed on someone?

The likelihood of this happening with Cerberus is really small. For a start, you'd need to be close enough to him in the first place for the situation to even arise, and with most people...they're just not. And even if the proximity thing isn't an issue, he's rarely taken so much by surprise by a sneeze that he'd be unable to not 'get' the other person (who is almost certainly Kia, let's face it, haha). However. If it did happen, he'd be immediately apologetic and I'd expect openly exasperated with himself about it, too. If he's just flat-out too ill to do anything about it - such as at the height of the icestrike - Kia doesn't mind, really. And he'd still apologise. Aww. There's definitely a higher chance this could happen with Kia. If she was taken by surprise in a social circumstance, sort of thing, it's absolutely a possibility. Presuming she's not sick, she'd almost certainly be mildly embarrassed but also laugh about it. She'd also apologise - it's not something she'd mean to do, after all.

TC Scourge is so interesting tho. How does he play out or effect the narrative? Does he go more clan life and change his name or does he act like a changer who gets the clans to see that outsiders aren’t lesser? I think he could be such a good character in like TBC especially as a rebel. I’m very interested in this idea

I'm glad you asked! I do actually have a point with it, and it's the more "fun" option between two choices I have at a certain point.

I'll try to summarize this and keep the BIG overview for its own post;

BloodClan is much older, forming back during the end of Oakstar's rule

It's neutral now, no longer pure evil. It does good things (distributes resources, protects from invasion, saves cats from abusive and neglectful living conditions) as well as bad things (demands service and/or tribute, gruesome punishments for stealing and disobedience, rigid pecking order)

Scourge is the newest in a line of rulers. Instead of being EVIL he's just very politically savvy, having inherited a large and brutal group.

The BloodClan battle happens because Tigerstar PROMISED them land and Scourge is sick of Clan cats not respecting them

So, in any case, Scourge is NOT dying at the battle. Firestar defeats him honorably, and engages in diplomacy with BloodClan afterwards. Everyone involved is mixed about this, but it works out well at the destruction of the forest where BloodClan absorbs the warriors who are staying behind and provides aid.

The Choice

So the crossroads will come during the period concurrent with Firestar's Quest/Quietus, the part where there was a power struggle between Snake, Ice, Claw, and Rage. In the rewrite I'm combining all the BloodClan power plots into one-- Scourge choosing a successor.

My initial draft was to give him a progressive disease that was going to kill him early, but with some small tweaking, it could just be him getting tired of leadership.

So my choice is that he dies here (much more compliant with canon) or he ultimately joins ThunderClan and accompanies them to the Lake.

Why though?

Because I want him to play a role with Hollyleaf.

In addition to it just being generally fun that there's this very quiet ex-mobster boss hanging out in the background just enjoying life, he would be an uncle figure in PO3.

I think Hollyleaf's struggle with outsiders is really interesting, and since I'm probably going to reduce Stormfur and Brook's role in ThunderClan due to Tribe reworks, there is an opening for him to squeeze in. Hollyleaf is able to look between the obedience the code demands, the way the Clans see outsiders as being soft, and have a real, hard example that this is not true because of Scourge.

He will be old by this point, old enough to not soak up too much attention from younger warriors, but still has that good old BloodClan skill in his claws when it's required. That aside he would generally be a quiet loner type, quite close to Goldenflower, probably accepting a clan name (he'd see it as respecting the culture) but not correcting anyone when they call him Scourge.

He would die sometime between OOTS and AVOS, possibly of that progressive disease or even going down in a blaze of glory during the Great Battle (Tigerstar getting a rematch would be SUPER fun!) and he would become a ghost, not joining StarClan. Tree gets to see him a couple of times, and he would be there for Squirrelflight's Hope instead of the random kittypet, Blade.

Onerose- A thoughtful and gentle she-cat. Onerose always considers things very carefully and her favourite past-time is reflecting on things - she likes to ensure all her decisions are right and she often wonders about the nature of morality, and wonders how a cat that lives a morally neutral life is sorted between StarClan and the Dark Forest. Onerose is always very considerate of others and is always a good source of comfort, she often likes to sing or purr in a tune, but only to sleepy kits, she’s a little nervous about sharing her unusual hobby with her fellow warriors, 15/10

Icestrike- An intelligent and confident tom. Icestrike never doubts himself, he is a great and renowned warrior - something he is very aware of and will wear that reputation with the upmost pride. Icestrike is a very quick thinker, often making complex strategies and decisions faster than a cat can blink in the heat of battle and enacting them almost as quickly. Icestrike isn’t exactly a show off, but he will never pass up an opportunity to display off his abilities, he can often be found practicing and making up new moves, his latest involves doing a backflip, something he is very keen the perfect, 15/10

Update: Hey, uh, fellow cat book nerds.

My absence has been caused by my deteriorating mental health, the past months have been some of the worst for my mental health. I’ve always struggled with depression and mental illness in general, even when I was dropping my warrior cats designs art consistently I was having a rough time at home. Unfortunately, those rough times escalated and I found I was emotionally unstable and unable to motivate myself to do draw.

Initially I wanted to power through this feeling. So I started giving myself work on this blog (ask Icestrike, warrior cats designs) hoping that the fear of letting my followers down would motivate me to draw even when I had no desire to do anything for myself anymore. Instead, I had just caused more stress for myself upon my graduation that was happening at the time and I shut everybody out of my life.

(I graduated btw — I was also placed in 2 group homes since my foster family moved away.)

Up until recently, I was miserable and neglected myself. I didn’t feed or clean myself and left my new group home unit a mess. I’m not sure what has changed recently that has me feeling less awful, and I don’t want to make any concrete promises, but I’m thinking of coming back and drawing battle cats again soon.

I apologize for my absence, I truly do appreciate and admire my followers and anyone who finds my art or ideas fun or enjoyable. I didn’t think I’d ever reach as many people as I did with my cat drawings. The Warrior Cats community has been part of my life for so long and I’m happy to come back to it. Thank you all. I hope you stick around to see me post silly cat art.

anyway, scourge is in thunderclan au and saves fire from drowning during a border battle

scourge is called icestrike, he’s known as being pretty grumpy and seemingly anti social. he’s still made fun of for being a kittypet but some clanmates are also spooked by him, he butts heads with tigerclaw constantly, but he’s still a pretty respected warrior for his skill. he does have a few friends in bluestar, redtail, spottedleaf, whitestorm and lionheart.

he got his ear scar from a training ‘accident’ with tigerclaw when they were apprentices. his mentor was thrushpelt.

he saved fire with a little help from stonefur, but was ultimately chosen to take him since he was the one who spotted/saved him. he has to give stonefur updates at gatherings though.

because of how tiny fire was, he gets the name littlekit which eventually becomes littlefire or littleblaze.

littlekit is very quiet, worryingly so. he has seems to have some trouble remembering things thanks to his head injury and oxygen deprivation from almost drowning.

graykit swears that he spoke to him once though!

icestrike is quite protective of littlekit, so everyone jokes that he’s his big brother. he takes this role seriously.

bluestar is still the one who decides to take littlepaw as her apprentice. she figured she’d be best to do it, being able to be patient and firm.

the prophecy still exists, but icestrike might be the one who gets it instead

icestrike is ravenpaw’s mentor, ravenpaw is terrified of him

nobody knows that littlepaw is also a kittypet, since he was found in the river.

icestrike and yellowfang bond over being grouches with hearts of gold.

icestrike is still pretty small, but he’s still a force to be reckoned with. when littlekit is all grown up they’re about the same size, but icestrike’s longer ears make him taller.

Yes, of course, absolutely! Apologies for the delay! think of it as cellared or something, classily vintage. 😅 Ahem. Also from this list! 🐻‍❄️Situation: in a room full of people (meeting/class) Oh, now, this is one that has indeed occurred. If there's the option to leave, he probably will...although the sneezing has to get pretty intrusive for him to do so, and the more he's expected to be in said room full of people, the more intrusive it has to get. Chances are he'll have to be actively told to leave, if he's in any way integral to the gathering. (Which he probably is; he doesn't attend these things for fun.) But for the most part, he doesn't particularly care if other people are bothered by it. He's certainly not embarrassed about it. Annoyed, yes - and frankly he'll be even more annoyed if somebody suggests he's causing a distraction lol. It's just not very likely to be his primary concern. There are exceptions to this, but he has to give a shit about the people in that aforementioned room, and...well, he often doesn't.

🐸Seasonal: allergies: fall or spring?? Generally speaking, he doesn't suffer hayfever, as such. BUT. Spring gets the win for being peak birch pollen season. He's become more sensitive to this in recent years, too. (So, plot stuff, blah blah blah, lol. Birchbark when burnt has done him in for ages, but the tree pollen itself wasn't initially so bad. This definitely worsened, though, post the icestrike. What a shame.)
