Why You Should Not Buy Cheap Synthetic
Don't risk it with cheap synthetic ice! Inferior materials can ruin your skating experience, leading to cracks, wear, and subpar gliding. Invest in high-quality products to ensure safety, durability, and the genuine feel of real ice.

SUMMARY: Yuji's picked up skating and Choso wants to as well - problem is, he's got two left feet. And that's where you, Yuki's extremely good-looking friend, come in. A/N: SINCERELY SORRY IF YOU GUYS CAN'T SKATE ice skating is a pastime of mine and grrrr Choso skating was doing things to me. Requested by the lovely @ash4ree, I hope you like it! WARNINGS: GN reader, modern AU where Choso and Yuki run a tattoo parlour and no swears this time I swear (whoops, one right there)
“…Kamo, I think you better let me take over the cashier. You’re really spacing out hard.”
“Huh - what - oh, sorry, Yuki.” The man shook himself out of his daze, running a tense hand through the untidy strands falling out of his two spiky buns. He takes the proffered thermos and downs a gulp of coffee, grimacing and opening his mouth to fan his tongue. “Crap, I forgot it was hot.”
“Case in point,” the blonde announces, gently elbowing him away from the counter. “Go get your lunch break, dummy. You’re not helping sales if you just stand there staring out the store like a creep. Did something happen?”
Choso reluctantly peeled himself away and began looking for his packed lunch. “Not really.”
“Not sleep well last night?”
“No, no, I slept fine.”
“Well, you’ve been doing a pretty good job with latest customer’s tattoos, so it can’t possibly be work related…” Yuki tapped her chin. “Did you poke yourself with the a needle by mistake again?’
“It was one time.”
“You’ve got that constipated look,” Yuki hummed and wished she had a camera to capture Choso’s protesting, open-mouthed expression. “Wait, wait, I’ve got it! Yuji?”
“Well…” Choso’s face softened, as it usually did whenever someone mentioned his younger brother. It was usually followed by a long winded ramble about whatever Yuji had been doing yesterday, accompanied by aggressively showing photos and rhetorical questions. Yuki was sure this time he had something else to say so she stuck around, but if he was going to start she was going to exclaim that she had to go somewhere important or distract him with the ever trusty “have you put up the new tat designs yet?”.
“You remember his friend, Megumi?”
“Gojo’s kid? Yeah, I remember him; porcupine hair, grumpy face, about yea high?”
“That’s the one. Anyways, he and his sister - Tsumiki, I think - took up ice skating recently.”
“Rich people thing, but what does this have to do with Yuji?”
“Now Yuji wants to learn to skate as well.” Choso awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.
Yuki raised her eyebrows. “If it’s about money I keep telling you you can take all the tips-”
“No, it’ll be unfair if we don’t split!” Noble as always was Choso. Sigh. “Money’s not the problem. Gojo’s happy to sponsor and all I have to do is send him off to the rink anyway…”
“So what IS the problem?” Yuki prodded.
“…I tried to go with him yesterday.” Choso groaned and put his head into his hands. “I don’t know how to skate. At all.”
“You can learn, it can’t be that bad.”
“It was. I fell down about thirty times, Yuji counted. I can’t believe even Megumi is doing better than me.” Choso’s face turned wistful. “Yuji said it’s okay if I didn’t go with him next time, but I do, you know?”
Yuki, unfortunately, did know. Choso was THAT dream brother, the one who enthusiastically got into everything you did. The one who never, ever missed a single important competition, performance or playdate in your life. The one who did his absolute best to never embarrass you (obviously he did sometimes, but only because he was so proud of Yuji). The one who if you said you wanted the moon to be hung in your bedroom, he’ll hang the moon in your bedroom.
No surprise he would want to try and bond with Yuji with his latest hyper-fixation.
No surprise either he’d worry that he’d be making Yuji embarrassed that his big brother was such a klutz in the ice rink.
“It’ll be cool to skate together,” Choso finished hopefully.
Briefly Yuki flashed back to the time Yuji wanted tattoos like his elder brother and she had to talk him out of actually considering giving Yuji real, permanent tats, compromising with those tacky but washable ones.
“But even the staff there couldn’t help me.”
Now, the imaginary commentator would bellow, may we be proud to present, Yuki Tsukumo here to save the day!
Yuki smirked and slung a hand over his shoulders, a grin too wide to not be sneaky. “Don’t worry, Kamo! Big Sis Yuki’s got your back - I know someone who’ll be more than happy to help you if I pull in a couple of favors!”
“Really?” Predictably Choso brightened considerably. “Woah, thanks-”
“But first.” Yuki pushed him away to loom over him at arms length, eyes narrowed, assessing. “You haven’t answered me. What’s your type?”
***
“Hi Yuji.”
“Megumi! Guess what! Choso’s going to be skating today!” Yuji nimbly jumped inside the car, practically vibrating with excitement as he plopped down next to Megumi.
“With us?” The dark-haired boy’s usual frown deepened slightly. “Doesn’t he keep falling though?”
Yuji smiles wide enough for everyone to see his missing tooth. “I know! It’s so funny! But-” he motioned for Megumi to come closer, cupping his hand to his mouth in a conspiratorial whisper. “Someone else’s coming to give him lessons. Yuki-san told me so!”
“Who? Choso only has two friends and none of them know how to skate.” If Mahito, the creepy blue-haired man that the older brother sometimes hung out with did know how to ice skate…well, neither of them knew, mostly due to the fact he was too creepy to talk to despite his outwardly friendly appearance.
“You only have one friend as well, Megumi, and that’s me,” Yuji said bluntly, blissfully oblivious to Megumi’s disgruntled attitude at that statement. “I don’t know who it is but he’ll be coming soon with them to skate! That’ll be so cool if Choso made a new friend!”
Megumi flashed back to the time Yuji attempted to have the grocery store cashier “befriend” Choso, namely by having the both of them go find him when he disappeared somewhere in the freezer aisle. It did not end well but apparently his myopic friend didn’t think so. “Whatever you’d like to think.”
“Aw, Megumi, play nice! I’m sure it’ll be sooo cool if Choso made a new friend!” Up front in the passenger seat Gojo cackled, long legs awkwardly propped up on the dash. “Heavens knows he needs some. He can’t keep babysitting you, Tsumiki, Nanako, Mimiko and Yuji and call you guys his friends.”
“Why not? I’m not his friend?” Yuji looks horrified.
“Technically you’re his brother - ow!”
Geto, the exhausted-running-on-only-caffeine driver, retracts the hand he used to rap Gojo’s head with. “Don’t act so energetic when you did nothing to help me send off all the kids.”
“Hey! I helped Tsumiki get her bag and made the twins put on jackets and literally everything else you told me to do!”
“You forgot to pack my gloves,” Megumi said flatly.
“I didn’t see you driving Tsumiki to her book club or volunteering to help at Nanako’s photography club event or arranging time for Mimiko’s ballet recital or helping get their snacks ready or go wash the dishes in the sink from breakfast, which not only did I tell you to do but it’s your turn.”
“Suguru, you really wound me.” Gojo pretended to choke on tears.
Yuji burst out laughing. “Woah, Gojo-san is really useless!”
“Is that any way to treat the man who assisted in opening your brother’s tattoo parlor, young man?”
“Geto made you,” Megumi said again.
“I’m not listening to a snot-nosed brat who can’t even tie the laces to his skates,” Gojo declared.
Geto steered the car into the drop-off point, clearing his throat to be heard as he unlocked the doors. “He’s your kid, Satoru. Anyways, kiddos, I’ll be dropping you both here. Be good, don’t do anything Gojo would and Megumi better be there when I come to pick him both up. If Choso’s taking you both out to eat though, let me know or tell him to give me a call.”
“Noted with thanks.” Megumi exited the car swiftly, but not before gesturing rudely at his guardian.
“Now where did he learn that, I wonder?” Geto muttered, side eyeing the passenger princess. Gojo ignored him.
“Bye Geto-san! Bye Gojo-san! See you guys later!” Yuji’s hand waves wildly as he hops off.
Gojo rolls down the window to catcall one more time, pushing down his sunglasses. “Hey, kid, hope you’re ready to get a new sibling~”
“What?”
“Sibling-in-law,” Geto corrected, and they drove off.
***
Yuki had told him some basic facts about you. Your name, your age, your job, for instance.
She completely neglected to mention how amazing you looked.
Choso was glad he had decided to throw in a little more effort into his wardrobe today, but he was still anxiously tugging at the collar of his black hoodie. Thankfully his hair was down as well today to hide his ears, which he had no doubt where even more pink than Yuji’s hair.
Because man oh man were you drop-dead gorgeous.
What you were wearing only enhanced what Choso was convinced was godly beauty. And damn, the way you walked with utter confidence as you approached him outside the rink, your smile brighter than the midday sun and and and - crap he can’t remember anything he could call bright now that he’s seen your smile. You’re going to put him in cardiac arrest or at the very least short circuit his brain when you walk right up and start talking in that sweet, smooth voice of yours.
What was his favorite type of music? He’d absolutely say your voice now.
“Hi! You’re Choso right?” You cover your mouth as you shyly laugh. Why’d you do that? Choso wants to see it. “Yuki told me to look for a tall guy with longish hair and a tattooed face who stands there like he got off at the wrong train station.”
Play it cool, play it cool. And because the people he mainly hangs out with are kids he says, “Yeah I’m Choso. I like your shoes.”
“Really?” You glance down and laugh again. “Oh, um, thanks, I guess.”
He kicks himself internally.
“So, Yuki said you wanted to learn how to skate to impress your brother?”
“Uh, yeah.” Choso nods. At least that didn’t sound too weird. “He picked up skating recently and I just think it’ll be nice if we could do it together, because all I can do right now is, you know, sit at the sidelines since…I’m really bad at skating.”
“It’s fine!” You said enthusiastically. “It takes a couple tries to get the hang of it, but I’m pretty hopeful I’ll get you skating by yourself in one lesson - um, not to sound arrogant. It’s pretty sweet you want to learn skating just for your brother, heh; you must really look up to him.”
“I do.” Yuji made friends so effortlessly and he was amazing at any sport he tried his hand at. Yuki could laugh at him all she liked but his opinion was his opinion. Choso shuffled his feet. “I’ll be really grateful if you can. I’ll even pay-”
“No, no, this is completely free, Choso! Don’t worry, it’s all on a favor to Yuki anyway, so if anybody pays, it’s her,” You joke, waving a hand, gratified to see him crack a nervous grin. “So…” You plodded over to the rink, so steady atop the blades of the skates. Choso takes a little while longer, wobbling uncertainly, but he thanks his lucky stars he managed to cross over without tripping like last time.
“Which one’s your brother?”
Choso proudly pointed at the kid with the fluffiest pink hair you’ve ever seen chasing his spiky-haired, brooding counterpart around the ice with the skill of an Olympics professional. “That one.”
“Oh my god.”
Choso panics when your hand slaps over your mouth and your eyes screw up closed. You sounded like you were holding back some really odd noises as well. Did he do something wrong? Oh no. “Are you okay? Are you cold or-”
“He’s a little silly.” Yuki leans across the table, with a sly look. “I’m sure he’s got a brother complex, actually. Don’t mind him if he gets really excited if you mention Yuji.”
“No, no, Yuki didn’t tell me you were this cute!”
“I-” Choso feels his face heat up like an oven and his mouth dries. “Um.”
You grab his hand and yank him into the rink. “Come on, we’ll get you skating in no time!”
***
Truly you meant what you said. Yuki didn’t tell you he was THIS cute and you were going to put her out of whack for it.
You had originally regretted bemoaning your fate of being single for so long already when you had met up with the blonde a week ago, because Yuki being Yuki she was going to grill you for a very detailed description of your type just so she could set you up with someone on a blind date. What a wicked friend - somehow she managed to set you up on one anyway, but you were going to let it slide on the fact that 1. he was really, really cute (not just in looks; so rare are grown men who want to do these things just for their little brother!) and 2. Yuki was giving you a chance to show off your stomping ground and potentially impress HIM, something you weren’t going to throw away to get back at her.
Stay calm, stay calm, you chanted to yourself as you led him out to the rink. Oh god he was so cute and anxious gingerly moving like a newborn giraffe it made you want to- Focus. Seriously.
“Try and skate, I want to see how well you can do,” you said in what you hope was a normal, level tone of voice and not a representation of how you feel when he grabbed your arm to steady himself.
“Um…I’m scared I’ll trip and take you down with me,” Choso confessed, tightening his grip just slightly (it sent you reeling). “I accidentally tripped up Yuji’s friend’s dad once.”
“It’s fine! It’ll take more than some ice to hurt me,” You assure him cheekily. “Go on, try. I’ll do my best to catch you if I fall!”
“Alright, if you say so…”
You glided closer to where he sat on his bum. “I mean, at least you managed a couple meters.”
“I did a split,” Choso groans.
“You’re quite the gymnast,” you agree and offer your hand to help him out. He catches your eye and it’s all over.
“OH MY GOD! I’M - S-SORRY, IT - IT WAS JUST - JUST SO - JUST SO FUNNY - I CAN’T - I SHOULDN’T - I SHOULDN’T BE LAUGHING BUT - OH MY GOD - YOUR FACE - “
“Stop! It’s not that funny!” Choso buries his face into his hands, pulling up the hood of his jacket. But eventually he succumbs to the humor of the situation as well.
The two of you garnered quite a number of stares as you both doubled over and laughed until you swore you needed stitches for your sides now. You both glance up, just for a moment and maybe sparks flew if Choso hadn’t lost his balance and would’ve face-planted into the ice if you hadn’t grabbed him in time.
Now you both were in a…questionable position, to say the least. He was half leaning on you, head smooshed against your side as you tried to maneuver him back to standing with suddenly stiff hands, like two waltz partners when one was dipping the other. Your heart was pounding and you wondered if he could hear it. His face was burning red; he prayed you couldn’t see it. Two pairs of eyes locked.
“Um. So.” You broke the silence first.
Choso hurriedly pushed himself away, waving his hands frantically. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! It was a total accident!”
Then the laughter explodes out again.
The commotion seemed to have gotten the attention of Choso’s brother and his friend as well. When you finally straightened, wiping at your streaming eyes, you came face-to-face with two gleaming brown ones as the boy grabs your hand in a tight handshake. “Hi! I’m Yuji! You must be Choso’s new friend and the one teaching him to skate?”
If Yuji wasn’t on ice you’d bet he’d be jumping up and down from glee. “I can’t wait to skate with him! He’s so bad at it he can barely take a step without slipping!”
“Yuji!” Choso can’t believe it. His beloved brother. Betraying him. Exposing him.
“Yeah, last time he tripped up Gojo,” Megumi adds. Choso could cry. Instead he puts a hand on their shoulders (he can’t bend down without falling/being unable to get up again if he’s not holding something) and leans close.
“Taiyaki if you guys don’t mention this, please.”
Yuji blinks and nods seriously, before turning back to a bewildered but entertained you. “My bad! Choso’s really good at skating! He’s never fallen down before!”
Not like that, Yuji. Choso wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. Since when were little kids this silly?
“Let’s go back to skating, Yuji. “ At least one of them feels bad for him. Megumi skates off, beckoning for his friend to follow. “We’ll leave the lovebirds to skate themselves.”
“Megumi!” Choso gasps. He took it back. All kids were merciless.
You seem more amused though, giggling. “Come on, they’re right. I said I’ll get you skating by today and skating you will be by today!”
“Alright!”
He couldn’t help but beam back. You had that effect. Addicting and contagious. Anything but detrimental though.
“Okay, let’s try that again, but this time I’ll be right behind you, so grab me if need be.”
Choso nodded. “Got it.”
You watched carefully as the man slowly struggles to skate a little distance. He nearly falls, but steadies himself quickly. After a while it’s easy to spot the problem, so you reluctantly pull yourself away from admiring his form, however shaky.
“Wait, wait, hold up here.” You skated in front of him a bit and pointed down. “Skating isn’t walking. Try imagining a scooter or a skateboard, where one foot remains unmoving while the other propels you forward. It’s not really an accurate way to skate but it worked for me on starting out.”
Choso tried not to get distracted by the smell of you and your clothes, concentrating on his feet. Think about other things, not the extremely good-looking person in front of you. Other things - don’t fall - other things…
He flashed back to the time he tried to teach Yuji to use a skateboard and fell into a ditch. Um, probably explained why he was so bad at skating.
“Hey, I’m doing it!” Choso excitedly let go of your arm and pushed himself forward a little more. “I’m doing it! I’m skating - oh woah - never mind - ouch.”
“Well, almost!” You cheered, clapping your hands and mimicking confetti falling as you skated over to help him up. “You did it! Now we just gonna work on your falling problem - I think it’s because you’re trying to go faster than you can right now.”
“It’s progress,” Choso says hopefully. He tries to get up.
“No, don’t get up like that, you’re gonna fall right down again. Put up one foot like you’re kneeling and use it to push yourself up.”
And so it went on, you directing instructions, tips and corrections to Choso while he did his best to follow them, occasionally sending your heart fluttering and your stomach twisting every time he grabbed your hand to steady himself. It was like your hands were molded to fit each other perfectly, you thought giddily, then shut off that train of thought. No! You both had just met! You were just here on a favor to Yuki! Nothing more!
“Lean forward a little more - wait, no, not that much, don’t fall for me again, haha.”
“Just relax your hands, don’t keep flailing them.”
“Come on! Go, go, go, you got this! No! Don’t look back! Pretend I’m in front of you!”
But still, you couldn’t help but flush pink at the jubilant grin decorating his face as he zipped back to you, hyped over his newfound achievement.
“I did it! I skated a whole round!”
“I know you did, congratu- oof!”
He tackled you in a tight hug, crushing your arms and your head underneath his chin but you didn’t mind. Choso was warm, awfully so after you both had spent so much time in the freezing rink, but maybe that was just his personality. You melted, and it was like gluing a cracked vase back together again - a perfect fit.
Then Choso froze and let go, pushing back. “I’m so sorry! I shouldn’t have done that, I’m so sorry-”
“Hey, no worries, don’t sweat it!” You tried for a smile, even though the sudden loss of his hold left something aching in you.
He smiled again and you decided to be bold.
You spread your arms. “Can I get another one, maybe? Just to celebrate.”
***
“So, it’s just you and Yuji right now?” You took a lick of your ice cream, eyes never leaving Choso’s face. He was enjoying his own cone, although his gaze was trained on the two kids running up in front. “Man, that must’ve been rough.”
“Well, not too bad.” Choso wiped a smudge of chocolate off the corner of his lip. He didn’t quite get it, so he tried to use his tongue to lick it off. You snorted at his expression. “We’ve got an uncle - my dad’s brother - Sukuna, he’s not around much but he sends us money so financially, we’re okay. He’s a pretty busy, bigshot businessman anyway.”
“THE Ryomen Sukuna?” Your mouth fell open as you pictured the scowling, towering, tattooed man you had seen in newspapers. “Oh, wow, you just keep getting even more interesting, Choso.”
He shrugged, awkwardly smiling at the compliment. “Heh, not really. I didn’t even know we were related until like after our grandfather died. Then he showed up. He’s like the family black sheep or something, but Sukuna’s pretty okay.”
After Yuji and Megumi had finally gotten bored of the rink they had ran up to the two of you and immediately pestered Choso (mostly Yuji, Megumi just sort of tagged along) to get them food because they were going to die from hunger apparently. Choso had turned to you, with that eager puppy dog look and asked if you wanted to stay, ice cream would be his treat? Who were you to turn him down?
So that’s how you all ended up in front of the toy store now, as Yuji dragged Megumi inside while you and Choso just sort of lingered around the front, poking through the products, getting to know each other better and wistfully remarking on the joys of lost childhood.
(He was such a gentleman - offering to throw the cup your ice cream was in for you, opening the door and even - gasp - helping you remove the straps from your skates.)
“Pretty okay? He looks terrifying from his pictures,” you laugh. “I guess there’s a reason they call his business Malevolent Shrine though.”
“Don’t even get me started on-”
“Choso! Choso! Check these out!”
The two younger boys burst through the racks, Yuji grinning and Megumi not quite scowling as they held up two matching wolf plushies, one white and the other black. The Divine Dogs line of toys, if you remembered correctly. They were pretty cute, you had to admit.
“Oh hey, you two are back.” Choso took a quick look at the plushies and raised his eyebrows. “Do you want them or something?”
“Nope! I think you should get them!”
You nearly spat.
“…what? And…why?”
“So you can match with my new sibling?”
“Sibling?!” Poor Choso looks confused.
“Sibling-in-law,” Megumi corrects blankly, and points at you.
At once the two of you suddenly found the floor really interesting. My, my, who knew the cracks in the tiles would make such beautiful patterns. Hmm, a speck on your shoe as well.
“But I think that's for after marriage,” Megumi continues like absolutely nothing happened.
Yuji frowns, then lights up again before shoving the plushies towards Choso. “Then you gotta marry them quick, Choso, before anyone else does! Maybe you could get matching tattoos or something, after the plushies! You guys were so cute skating around together, like a real coo-ple!”
“Couple,” Megumi corrected.
“We’re not-!”
“Um, what-?”
“Hey, can I be best man at the wedding?” Yuji waved the plushy at your face.
Choso wanted the floor to swallow him up. You decide to save him and yourself.
“…it’s too early for marriage,” You begin before Choso’s panic instincts kick in.
“I’m so sorry! I apologize on their behalf, it must make you uncomfortable! Yuji, Megumi, don’t ever say that, we just met and we’re just hanging out like friends-”
“Hey, let me finish!” You lightly dig your elbow into his side, the corner of your lip tugging up. “It’s too early for marriage but I wouldn’t say no to a date, if you asked.”
Choso bough the plushies after he finished fainting.

It's finally done cooking, my sims gameplay ideas list! After scouring all types of sites, generators, lists, and my brain for ingredients, I've come up with a list stew that hopefully will spark some inspiration for your sims gameplays!
This non exhaustive list consists of ideas that are applicable to sims gameplay/things to do in-game. AKA things that can be played out in the sims or half pretended. If you're looking for less-gameplay story ideas, I recommend my story/conflict idea list. Most of the conflict and love ideas are on that list. Please feel free to send asks to add to the gumbo! Just note in your ask that it's for the gumbo and keep it applicable/feasible for gameplay. (To keep the post from getting too long I'll make a contributor list into a compressed image later on for those who send off-anon.)
If you are looking for more complex, in-game story ideas check out the Story Soup list here!

chan (ë°Šě°Ź) ~ ice skating
despite having to wait in the long, long, long queue for what feels like centuries just to ice skate in a tiny rink outside the local mall
it's a tradition you and chan do every year
sure, it's not ideal to wait an hour in the freezing cold just to skate for 45 minutes only
but when chan is standing right behind you
helping you wrap your scarf the correct way
zipping your coat all the way up
pulling your beanie that was riding up your head back down
and holding a warm cup of hot chocolate?
you could get past that
besides
it's always funny to watch him flail his arms around like bambi
sometimes you like watching him struggle just to see his frown when you don't help him up
"you don't love me anymore!!!!!"
"if i try to pull you up i'm going to fall down right beside you, chan"
"YOU SHOULD AT LEAST TRY!!!!"
so you do
and to no one's surprise except chan's
you fall down
the little pro skater kids start to get worried when neither of you are able to get up
well you could
if chan didn't attempt to yank on you as support to pull himself back up
why does this man not understand that you are incapable of supporting him to stand back up
it's cute to watch him attempt to recreate one of the figure skating spins tho
i am nawt a figure skater idk the names i'm sawry
you two are just goals goals goals!!!!!!!
minho (믟호) - mall intercom announcements
it first happened 4 years ago
it was the most embarrassing moment of your life
minho had suggested the two of you go christmas shopping at the biggest mall in south korea
one second you were holding his hand
the next you're spinning around in the middle of the 2nd floor wondering where the hell your 172cm boyfriend could've wandered off to
you were about to call him until you realise you have his phone after he gave it to you before running off into the toilet
"what if my phone drops into the toilet bowl?!"
you were about to start retracing your steps until you hear your name being announced by the information desk, followed by a "your boyfriend is waiting for you by the information desk at the 3rd floor"
you were so going to kill that man
but that night you think to yourself
killing him isn't enough
no, no
you needed to embarrass him right back
so you held your grudge until next christmas
you mumbled something about a flash sale at a nearby store and that he should find you there after he was done scouring uniqlo and ran off before he could object
you gave yourself a few more minutes before you made the announcement over the information desk
boy, was he mad when he saw the cheeky smile on your face
ever since then, it became a tradition for the two of you to race each other to make the lost person announcement to embarrass the other
it's all fun and games until the worker stares in confusion over thinking either one of you was the other's lost kid
changbin (창뚈) ~ take-outs
you don't know why either of you still bother cooking christmas dinner
neither of you can cook
sure, you're a fairly decent baker
but that won't suffice for a christmas dinner
and changbin cannot cook for his life
yet you still take turns deciding on who's going to poison the other
obviously that never works out
the day either ends with you guys calling minho and asking begging him if you could have some of his leftovers
or
your more preferable option
ordering take-out
despite take-out being a very common occurrence for you guys
take-outs on christmas are special
the reason being the free sweets your favourite restaurant usually provide in the small bowl by the entrance
yes, the sweets are there usually
but after changbin accidentally caused a scene the first time you dined in at the restaurant long story
the owner had banned either of you from taking the complementary sweets
however
during christmas time, customers bustle in and out of the restaurant
which makes it easy for changbin to snag a handful of sweets and shove them in his pocket
before grabbing your hand and making a run for it back to his car
you do get some odd looks from the other customers queuing outside the restaurant
but at the end of the day
who are the ones who have a bunch of free sweets to snack on? B-)
hyunjin (현진) ~ sweater paws
it's the time of christmas! meaning...
taking hyunjin's oversized sweaters!!!
needless to say it's your favourite thing to do
it's not that he doesn't let you borrow them usually
he just... prefers to keep his expensive clothes in his closet safe and sound
however
he does indeed have a 'sweater of shame'
a christmas sweater that the other members got him as a gag gift a couple of years ago
you will never catch that man ALIVE wearing that "hideous thing"
so when you started dating him and found that absolute gem
you had decided it make it your mission to shove that "disgusting" piece of clothing over his head
except somehow the tables turned
and the sweater ended up wrapped around you
and hyunjin will never openly admit this
but it was quite literally one of the cutest sights he had ever seen in his life
ever since then
he's made it his mission to get you to wear the sweater every christmas
obviously you run away from him
until last year
when he finally caught you and managed to get it on you
you discovered the sweater does have a plus side to it
sweater paws
it feels like playing whack-a-mole whenever you attempt to swing at hyunjin with the sweater on
whack-a-hyunjin, perchance
he claims to hate it and runs away from you
but you both know it's something the two of you look forward to every christmas

mille-feuilles have never tasted so sweet
SYNOPSIS: an ice-skating outing with your girlfriend takes a very sweet turn
CHARACTERS: furina
NOTES: for @reilly34 as part of favonius library's secret santa event- I hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
The holidays in Fontaine have always been a special occasion. The air always smelled of freshly-baked desserts and hot cocoa within the city and by Lady Furina’s orders, the streets were to always be decorated. Lampposts, trees, and archways would be covered in lights. The aquabuses would receive a fresh coat of paint and large ribbons that would flutter in the wind while the Melusines would receive a special holiday uniform as they ferried curious visitors in and out of the city.
(“Let the children of Fontaine be merry!” she would say. “‘Tis a joyous occasion worth celebrating. It is only just that I, their great archon, give the people what they want during these special times!” Or something along those lines.)
Even though Lady Furina has abdicated the throne, it seems as if her wish to spread some holiday cheer continued to live on. Quartier Lyonnais is busier than ever with people doing their holiday shopping. (a large Blubberbeast plushie on display makes you pause. It would make a nice present for her. You mentally remind yourself to buy it later today if it's still in stock.) Boulangeries and patisseries are drawing large crowds from their mouthwatering goods. You make the impulsive decision to snag some holiday-themed mille-feuilles that are on sale for Furina. She’d like them for sure.
You circle around the area in front of the Palais Mermonia, which had been converted into a public outdoor skating rink with the help of some Cryo vision holders. It’s crowded with families and their children. Past that and a block down is a quieter residential area where the former archon’s apartment is. Though the curtains are drawn, you can see that a light is on inside. She’s been acting nonchalant about your visit all week but as you approach the front door, you can hear her muffled pacing and talking to herself.
“Do these boots…? No, they clash with my coat. How about…?”
You knock and you hear her startled yelp.
“Lady Furina, dear. It’s me,” you call out. “I hope I haven’t kept you waiting too long.”
You can hear her scramble to get the door and a moment later, the door flies open to reveal your dearest Furina.
“Perfect timing! I need your help on deciding what to wear.”
You walk inside and place the bag of freshly-baked desserts on the coffee table. (You don’t miss how her eyes follow your every move and light up once she smells what’s inside.)
“Hmm… I don’t think my taste in fashion could ever compare to you, Miss Furina de Fontaine.”
“Naturally,” she declares, her head held high in the air. But the facade quickly melts away, revealing the mellowed-out and humbled person your girlfriend had become.
“But I’d say you come a very close second. Now, tell me what I should wear.”
“Just choose something that’ll be easy to slip on and off. I have faith in your aesthetics so I’m not too worried about that.”
She looks at you strangely. You shoot her a little wink.
“You’ll see why.”
Tumblr media
“So, what’s this all about?”
“I wanted to do something for the holidays, but I know big crowds aren’t your thing anymore.”
You walk by the public outdoor skating rink from earlier and you don’t miss how she hides behind you. Luckily, everyone was too busy having fun to notice their former archon just a few feet away from them.
“... But that doesn’t change the fact that I still want to do something special for you. Come on, we’re heading outside the city.”
With a gentle tug, you pull her along with you. You weave between the streets and alleyways, eventually ending up on the outskirts of the city. After consulting your map, going in circles several times, and getting lost at one point, you eventually arrive at your destination: a beach on the northwestern coast of Fontaine. The sand is covered by thick sheets of snow and the water has frozen over.
You stride toward the waters and test out the thickness of the ice. Meanwhile, Furina looks at you as if you’ve lost your mind.
“... But there’s nothing here?”
“Nothing here but the two of us, and that was the point. I wanted this to be a moment shared only between us and no one else.”
You grab your pair of ice skates and toss your bag to her. Catching it, she realizes there’s a pair inside for her too.
“I-Ice skating?” she stammers. “But I’ve never done this before…”
“Never thought I’d hear you say those words,” you say as you lace your skates up. “What happened to the Furina I know, who learned surfing in record time despite not having any experience with it beforehand?”
Your Cryo vision, which had been resting dormant atop the back of your hand, comes to life with a bright glow. Thick ice spreads out before your foot and you harshly stomp on it- it doesn’t even budge and with how cold it is, the ice should last.
“Besides, I’m here as well. Do you trust me?”
Without hesitation, she grabs your outstretched hands with both of hers.
“With my life now that I’m mortal.”
“Then, keep your eyes on me.”
You slowly glide along the ice, pulling her with you. The ice generated by your vision spreads out until it extends as far as your eye can see. It’s calm and quiet, only disrupted by the sounds of your skates against ice.
Furina’s legs start to wobble and her hand begins to slip out of your grasp. Without missing a beat, you
After some time, you can tell she’s getting used to the rhythm of skating and has even tried mimicking your movements with some guidance from you.
(“Try to mirror my footwork. Think of it as a dance. I move back, you move forward.”)
“I’m going to let go of you now, ok?”
She nervously nods and… promptly falls on her ass the moment you let go of her hands. Naturally, you help her up but not before laughing a bit first.
“That hurt,” she whines as you lift her back up onto her feet.
“Need my help again?”
She furiously shakes her head.
“No. I want to learn how to do this by myself.”
She dusts herself off and tries skating again on shaky legs, like a newborn foal. Knowing how stubborn she can be, you leave her to her devices, only returning every time you hear a loud yelp and a thud before lifting her off the ice again.
“(Name), look! I think I’m getting it!”
You look back to see your girlfriend skating her way toward you- slowly and shakily- but still doing it nonetheless.
A light snow begins to fall overhead. It’s just the two of you skating in lazy figure-eights. You pull her to a stop and point toward the city where even out here, you can see Fontaine all decorated and lit up for the holidays.
“Look at how beautifully Fontaine shines,” she whispers, her shoulders bumping against yours.
“Look at how beautifully you shine,” you respond. It’s true. Underneath the moonlight, her white hair shines like silver and the blue streaks shimmer like the ice beneath your feet.  Your dearest Furina looks like those legendary water nymphs you’d read about in storybooks as a child, renowned for their bewitching beauty.
I am so lucky to call her mine. What did I do to deserve her?
I am so lucky to call them mine. What did I do to deserve them?
Tumblr media
The walk back is a joyous one. It’s getting late and stores are beginning to close down. You pass by the shop you saw earlier selling the Blubberbeast plushie and remembering your mental note from earlier, you stop in to buy it for Furina. Was it pricey? Yes. But did seeing the starry-eyed look on your girlfriend’s face make the hefty price tag worth it? Also yes.
You come to a stop in front of her apartment, the street lamp flickering to life above you.
“I’ll be heading home now, Furina. Good night, and-”
“Wait.”
You look back to see your girlfriend glancing off to the side with an adorable pout and flush on her cheeks.
“... Can I have a kiss?”
You laugh lightly at her request and in a few strides, you’re standing in front of her again.
“Haven’t I already told you? You don’t need to ask.”
Only the light snow is witness to your shared kiss. Her lips are soft and they taste like peppermint and dark chocolate. They’re just as cold as yours from the freezing winter winds.
When you finally pull away from each other, gasping for air, you rest your forehead against hers, warming her hands up in your equally-cold ones.
“Did you sneak a bite of the dessert I brought you?”
“When you weren’t looking,” she cheekily replies. Her expression softens, losing all its playfulness as her sincerity shows through.
“Thank you, (Name). For the first time, the holidays don’t feel as lonely anymore.”
She giggles.
“I’ve always liked mille-feuilles, but I never knew they could taste so sweet.”

A little bit of everything for the asks game!
favorite scene: brock at the house party with the third liners. i liked the flow of it, the natural reveal of information through the conversation, the comedic timing, the dynamics at play. any time you can involve the comic relief characters in a scene, i think you should do that
hardest scene to write: i got stuck on the transition from the ice skating date to the first sex scene for long enough that i almost gave up on finishing the fic entirely and had to get a friend to smack me into just doing it. i still think that transition is garbage but what can you do, sometimes you just write a shitty transition between two good scenes and move on with your life
favorite character to write: honestly. in this one it was brandon. sometimes it's fun to write about guys you don't usually think about!
favorite dynamic: brock and his buddies. though obviously i like the concept of sugar baby brock just a whole lot. i could write about 40k more words on the subject
why i chose the title: this is one of my more bullshit phoning-it-in titles tbh, i've never been happy with it. i do like the bit of that song i quoted in the endnote and i think it fits the theme of the fic well, and it is one of my favorite songs of all time, but as a title to this fic specifically it just seems incorrect. still have no idea what else i could have called it though. again, sometimes you've just gotta move tf on
fun fact: i think i've mentioned this before, but a lot of this fic is based heavily on my experiences at the u of m like a decade ago, so all the references are old. the dinkytown mcd's closed down, and then reopened but it's bad now. that skating rink got bought up by a sales conglomerate and now it's an event center. dp dough is still there but the last time i ordered their cinammon sticks they baked black olives into the bottom. so it goes

Wanted to share some of the kits I've made for fun. This is why I thought your rpg kit looked awesome.
I used Altoid tins to make pocket-sized kits that hold together some of my corvid treasures and trinkets.
Tumblr media
This is all about my precious shiny prize loot that I won fair and square by having fun and participating in small adventures. Trinkets from adventures at the skate rink, an arcade museum, and of course, Chuck e cheeses. Also, ice cream and science fair fun.
Tumblr media
I am tentatively calling this one "scouts honor".
Tumblr media
The green altiods tin kinda pulled everything together. The patch and pins were found a thrift store, and the mending kit. The ☘️sticker is from the school book fair, the wwf cards from the library book sale and the bee erasers from a 4-H booth at the science fair.
Tumblr media
Lastly, this one is nameless, but it is an expression of my love for scavengercore and post-apocalyptic fictional worlds. And my Fallout fandom.
Tumblr media
I found like 98% of this kit in the wild as trash and found objects. The tins, pins, and tiny camera are bits I already had. If I was cosplaying a Fallout or post-apocalyptic OC, I would definitely have this kit in my pocket. I like to imagine it would be hard to find a hardware store in an apocalypse world, and these little bits of trash would come in handy.
Tumblr media
They are fun to make and fun to play around with. And they inspire stories and world building , which is fun.
Thanks for letting me share.
#and there simply isn't enough fun in the world #which is a shame #people and creatures need fun #I also love weird cringy shit, so bite me.

As a Barbie girly since I was 2-3 (17-18 years ago) I just wanna thank you for your blog. Also, have you done the ice capades pink dress Barbie? My great grandmother gave it to me when I was younger and I'd love to know more about it. Ty! ❤️
Thank you, that's so kind!
I haven't done a post about the Ice Capades Barbie... but I did do a silly joke post about the Ice Capades Ken.
(Please note there's no actual lore I gave behind that... the entire purpose of that post was just that I think his outfit is great and I love that he's so dazzling.)
Tumblr media
I assume this is the one you're referring to when you say the pink dress Barbie - this was released for the 50th Anniversary of the Ice Capades in 1990 (some sources say 1989 - this was the year the doll went into production, but the Ice Capades debuted in 1940 putting the 50th anniversary in 1990, so I think that is a more fair attribution date).
The Barbie and Ken were not the only parts of the collection though!
Tumblr media
This skating rink was also released as a part of the collection. Pictured is another doll staffing a concession stand, and I am not sure who she is. That being said I am typing this on a day my weather app has put out an "extreme heat" warning so perhaps my brain is fried.
There were also fashion and accessory packs from the collection.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There was also another Ice Capades Barbie, also from 1990, but missing the 50th anniversary branding.
Tumblr media
Also, the collaboration went both ways: they featured Barbie in some of their shows in 1990 as well. I can't find a good quality picture of a program with this featured but I've seen a few references to it.
The Ice Capades were actually losing popularity at the time of the 50th anniversary and this collaboration with Mattel, as a part of their wider 50th anniversary campaign, was presumably to breathe some life back into the brand. (I don't have a source that this campaign was for that purpose -- I'm just presuming, because ticket sales were in decline through the late 80s and the owner company went bankrupt in 1991, went through a few different owners, and then officially disbanded in 1997).
I am not saying Disney on Ice was the reason why, but they did start up around the same time as the declining Ice Capades sales started, so I don't think it helped.

Continued from here @auntiezelda
Sabrina couldn't help smiling at her aunt. Only in Aunty Zee's mind would a hundred years be considered recent enough to still count. Though she supposed after being around for more than a few centuries, time just wasn't really the same anymore.
"Well," she began, still smiling, "ice skating has kinda changed since the 1800s, Aunty Zee. This is ice skating now." She gestured to the rink in question, which was filled with lights and music and was on a pop-up rink rather than a solidly frozen lake. Which is what she presumed was used a hundred years ago. Unless witches did something different....
"Look, I bought two tickets for an hour on the ice. And," she added enticingly, "they have a little cabin bar you can go to afterwards which has hot chocolate and brandy drinks for sale."

12 days of Fluffmas!: Ice Skating || Natasha “Phoenix” Trace/F!Reader
Tumblr media
Day 8: Ice Skating. Summary: Your friend sets you up on a blind date.  988 words Female/AFAB Reader.  Warning: None.  Notes:  Day eight of the 12 days of Fluffmas!  Comments and reblogs fuel my writing, likes are appreciated. Thank you so much for reading, it’s appreciated and means the most.     **Tag list is done, please follow and turn on notifs for @wbslibrary **
Tumblr media
The area around the ice-skating rink was crowded. Families gathered together, kids running and chasing each other, vendors, food trucks, and street musicians playing Christmas carols—only intensified the nerves and butterflies in your stomach. You weren’t even sure how you’d be able to find her, despite having your phone clutched tightly in your hand, the volume all the way up.
Part of you wanted her to show up, another part hoping that maybe this really was all just an elaborate joke put together by one of your friends from work. It had come up in conversation over lunch that you were feeling a bit lonelier than normal, the holiday season making the feeling more intense. She had suggested that you maybe go on a date, and that she had the perfect woman in mind. You had expected maybe a double date with her, her boyfriend and this mystery woman. Not a blind date. All you had was a picture, a name, a phone number, and the fact that she worked with your friend’s boyfriend. Hearing someone call your name, you look up from the phone, and time stops. The woman who called out to you is absolutely stunning. Dark hair tumbled around her shoulders, her smile wide and bright. She wore jeans and a puffy quilted jacket in a soft green color. “Hi.” She comes over, gaze dropping before coming back to your face. “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Natasha. You can call me Nat if you’d like.” What you’d really like to call her is girlfriend, but one step at a time right? “It’s nice to meet you.” You can’t help but grin back. Her smile is infectious, and you could listen to her talk all day. “Would you like some coffee, or would you like to skate? We could get something to eat…” You bite your lower lip, trying to hold back the words that seem to bubble up. Natasha reaches out, taking your hand, and squeezes it lightly. “How about we do a lap around, see what’s here, and then get in line to rent skates?” She keeps a hold of your hand, your fingers interlocking together easily as you walk hand in hand. She’s easy to talk to, and just so warm and comforting, that the butterflies evaporate, and you start to relax. “An aviator?” You ask sitting opposite her, a massive container of chili cheese fries between you. She nods, “I like the challenge. I work with some incredible people, get to experience new things pretty much every day. I wouldn’t change it for the world.” She wipes her fingers on a napkin. “You work with Bob’s girlfriend?” “It’s a small advertising firm, she works sales, and I do the custom work.” You say, before taking a drink. Natasha’s watching you, smile on her face, and you’re struck by the fact she’s listening to what you have to say. You get caught up a little bit telling stories and talking about various projects. “It’s nothing as exciting as flying jets, but I love it so much.” You glance down, seeing that she’s holding your hand again, thumb soothing gently over your skin. The fries are long gone, and families had started to clear out, leaving groups of older teens and couples milling around. The two of you had sat for hours talking and it felt like mere minutes. “Would you like to skate?” Natasha asks when you return to the table after throwing away the trash. “I’d like that.” You smile, and she gets up from the table.   You can count on one hand the number of times you’ve gone ice skating, and thankfully Natasha seems to have just about the same amount of experience as you do. The two of you stumble around the ice, avoiding more skilled skaters, often ending up in a tangled heap together laughing. The nerves from earlier had been replaced by a different kind of excitement, wanting to keep her laughing, her hand in yours. Eventually, the pair of you can hold it together enough to skate around the rink a few times. The allotted time slot is over far too quickly for your liking. “So,” Natasha says, color high on her cheeks, her eyes bright. “I was wondering if I could see you again.” She shifts her weight, hands in her pockets. “I got invited to a holiday party that Bob and his girlfriend are throwing. Would you like to go with me?” “Yes.” The words are barely out of her mouth before you’re responding. “I would. I really had a lot of fun with you.” Natasha steps closer, the edges of her smile softening a little bit. She adjusts your scarf, fingers brushing against the curve of your neck gently, and you find yourself leaning in a bit more. Her arms close around you, hugging you tightly. You stay there like that for a few minutes, wrapped up in each other, and when you pull away her cheeks are a bit pinker. “I’ll pick you up at 5? We can grab a bite to eat and go enjoy the chaos that will undoubtedly unfold.” Her hands rub up and down your arms, and she pulls you in for another hug. “I’ll call you tomorrow.” You murmur, getting lost in the scent of her perfume. It’s light and delicate, one that you won’t soon forget. “If that’s okay.” “That’s very okay with me.” Her thumb brushes your cheek, before she’s stepping back, putting some space between you. “I should head out.” You say, not wanting to leave her, have this end. “Text me when you get home?” “I will. You too.” You wave, turning to head back to your car, glancing once over your shoulder to see her watching you walk away. Once you’re situated in your car, you pull out your phone texting your friend a picture of you and Natasha. “Thank you.” /end

Thoughtful Holiday Memories
She’d nearly cracked her head open on the ice rink railing - saved only by Emmet’s quick thinking and Daniel’s startled “Yah!”. Emmet felt like he lost a year off the end of his life as he, quite slowly - moved Anya back into an upright position.
“THIS WAS A VERY BAD IDEA!!!” He practically shouted, looking understandably a touch distressed in the face.
“.... yes. Extremely” Anya agreed, her tone stiff
“We are leaving the ice rink” Emmet announced “You tried! But it is time to get out”
“Yes please” Anya nodded, eyes already at the exit.
“Holy shit!”
Elesa got their attention as she slid over to the two of them. Just as she approached, Anya stepped onto the carpeted outer rink.
“You nearly had a hell of a fall, you okay?” Elesa asked as Anya immediately moved to take off the ice skates, her scowl prominent.
“No. I want to sit” The woman stated flatly.
“So we are going to join Ingo!” Emmet added, also looking a little weathered by the brief few seconds of near-harm.
Elesa sighed, what a right mess this turned into!
Elesa had just wanted to go to the winter fair, and perhaps do some ice skating. She could have never guessed that literally none of her friends had any balance.
Only her beautiful and perfect girlfriend could also skate. Oh well.
“Skyla, let's go around one more time before we end their suffering” Elesa reached out a hand.
Skyla laughed “I told you this would happen, babe”
“I know, I know- sue me for wanting my friends to try something new!”
“Maybe I will”
Anya watched as the two skated away, and sighed deeply. Ingo waved to get her attention.
“How are you?”
“... A tad discombobulated, but fine” she reassured.
Ingo huffed “Next time, we are just going to the winter village for the food and shops”
“Agreed”
“Yah-Mah!!” Drew practically shouted, looking appropriately miffed at the near-accident that occurred on the ice
“Oh, calm y’rself” Anya rolled her eyes. Ingo looked up at the Yamask - Daniel was holding at Anya’s arm in the meanwhile - having a different reaction to her near-hit to the head.
“Ah, while we are here, actually” Ingo motioned to his shoulder bag, reaching for something “As we will not be seeing you for the holiday, I thought I should give you your gift now”
The surprise in his friends eyes was evident “What? Gift?”
“Yes. For the festival of Justice, it's customary to exchange gifts” He explained “As to give appreciation to your friends and family - it's an odd thing, I think it was taken from a Kalosian holiday, actually” he pointed out “but it is apt. You are my friend, and I wish to gift you with something.”
“Ah… I… I don’  have a gift in return!”
“Next time there is a Galarian gift-giving holiday, you can return the favor” Ingo simply reasoned, holding out a small box “Please, take it”
Despite her odd nerves, Anya took the box, which wasn’t wrapped, and opened it.
Inside of the box was a woven bracelet, made with a soft, comfortable cotton material.
“It is for your watch. It should be the right width”
It was the right width. Just a few weeks prior, her cloth (she hated the feeling of leather on her bare skin) wristband that held her wristwatch broke, and she had been waiting on a sale for a company that she liked to buy a new one. It seemed her friend was a step ahead.
“I know that you were waiting for the sale, but they were almost out of stock of the pink one” Ingo responded “So, I purchased it to give to you for the festival”
Anya took the wristband out of its box, feeling the cloth between her fingers - soft and gentle on the skin, with the insert for the watch face that makes sure that the metal doesn’t touch the skin. These were not cheap - it's why she was waiting for the sale.
But he bought it for her, in the pink gradient that she’d wanted.
“I …” She looked back up at him, her emotions starting to get a little out of hand already - ah, emotional disregulation: but good this time! “Thank… thank ya, Ingo. I … “
“It’s okay” he reassured “Take a breath”
She took a moment to collect herself “.. Thank ye, Ingo.”
“You are very welcome, Anya.” He gave her a happy nod.
“Oh yay! She likes it!”
Emmet approached them - having gone to grab coffee “Happy Kalde-mas!”
Anya let out a laugh at the slightly ridiculous colloquial name, and gratefully took the coffee, her lopsided smile a full-on grin.
“Happe kalde’mas”

PROVIDENCE PEAK’S 80TH ANNUAL  — HOLIDAY MARKET WEEK AND TREE LIGHTING.
Considered the busiest week of the year, most of Providence Peak’s residents spend the entire year waiting for it. A time when sparkling lights are strung up and down the streets of downtown and shop windows are decorated with all kinds of seasonal displays. The skating rink in the middle of the downtown square has been iced over and open for the season, the tree lighting ceremony just on the horizon, and the Hot Cocoa Stop is making it’s rounds through the neighborhoods. It’s holiday market week in Providence Peak and the city has an entire week filled to the brim with events to celebrate the warmth of the season.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
All Week (December 17th - December 24th) - From Saturday to Saturday, the residents of the city can find the holiday market returned to it’s usual downtown location, lining the glowing streets leading up to the large tree in the center of the city. The market will feature a variety of vendors (which can be found here) with the ice skating rink open just beneath the large tree in the center of the market. Hot Cocoa Stop can be found just off of the rink all week and a list of the following daily events can be found at the Town Hall.
Saturday (December 17th) - A rather unsanctioned event and not one associated with the city’s holiday celebrations, Atlas and Molly Williams have decided to take it upon themselves to spread holiday cheer and host an Ugly Sweater Party at the Williams’ house. The party will be bring your own beer and ugliest holiday apparel and if you’re thinking the combination of alcohol, ugly sweaters, and unbridled holiday cheer is bound to be messy, you would be entirely correct.
Sunday (December 18th) - Join Holy Spirits for a Sunday Mass that’s unlike any you’ve ever attended before. Starting at 8am sharp, stop in for a light brunch spreads of breads and cheeses and holiday-themed cocktails created by the bartenders themselves! Stop by the Skyline Shopping Center and follow the signs to the wrapping station hosted by Chief-of-Police Jordan Walker where he and a few volunteers will be offering free wrapping in exchange for a donated toy of your choosing! Be sure to take advantage of all of the last minute holiday sales the stores will be running through the week.

Tickets will be buy one get one free for the duration of the day for all snow activities (skiing, snowboarding, snowtubing) and the resort will be offering a deal on their rooms with the purchase of an activity ticket. Wednesday (December 21st) -  In a time where many are feeling festive, come celebrate the feeling with the holiday market’s Holidays Around the World Showcase where attendees can find displays, food and drink, and crafts for sale centered around the world’s most popular winter holidays. I read Figure Skating for Change Canada’s open letter calling for Skate Canada and the government of Canada to investigate allegations of abuse at Champs International Skating Camp of British Columbia and address abuse in sport and was glad it was getting national media attention -
did not realize til today that Ted Barton, the executive director of Skate Canada BC/Yukon, has offices in that rink 👀 and hired Joanne Mcleod, the director of the training center. i don’t know his role or involvement, but his public support and endorsement of Eteri and her camp added to this feels so sketchy 😑
the ice dance coaches at that rink are Megan Wing and Aaron Lowe - i saw a couple comments saying ice dance trains kind of independently within the center. but this means Haley Sales and Nikolas Wamsteeker trained there for years before moving to IAMO. makes me sad and mad to think of any athletes training in toxic environments

𝙻𝙾𝙲𝙰𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽  :  hogsmeade village  !
Tumblr media
there wasn’t all that much for hande to do with her winter evenings, anymore. in decembers past, she’d at least been able to sip on a warm firewhiskey or try out skating across the village ice rink. last year, still insecure in her position & hoping to continue making the best impression on dionisia, she had volunteered to man the wreath selling booth on diagon alley late into the night, but the other had refused her offer to stand around in the cold after the arboretum closed up for the night for obvious reasons. her fun was more limited, now, which was alright in some ways ( she’d never actually mastered ice skating and she hated the cold, in general ) but bothersome, in others.
when she & her roommates had decided to visit hogsmeade on the night of the tree lighting, none of them had realised how much hande would have to sit out of, but she’d urged them on while assuring them that the various stores and stalls would be enough excitement for her, and so far they had been - she’d been window shopping with a go cup of hot chocolate clutched between both hands for a while before the little knitted outfits had caught her attention, and she couldn’t help herself putting said cup down on the edge of the rickety sales table when there were tiny clothes to run her fingertips over. the little booties...- hande smiled, a little, to herself, plucking them up gently and, to her nearest neighbour, uttering, “these are cute, aren’t they ? do you think that green could be a neutral color ?”
