Oh, heeey! Man, I haven't updated this thing in weeks! A lot has happened - I got blown up again, tried sautėed pilote, stole a terrorist, all sorts of fun stuff! I'm sure you guys wanna hear ALL about it, but Locus Sam was going on and on about how using the ship's computers for 'personal accounts' is "a huge security risk" and "going to get him arrested," and he wouldn't even listen when I told him I barely even said anything! (what a spoilsport!)

So! I have to get back to keeping an eye on our little baby blue guest, but don't you worry your pretty little pink heads! There's no man slick enough to penetrate Double-O-Donut's defenses! This trip's gonna take some time, so why not send some questions my way to pass the time?

i was jane prentiss on saturday handing out worms to various people (only got a pic of two, freddy cosplayer (dreamkillercosplay on insta!) and lee jennings from the funeral portrait 10/10 recommend that band) and also a pic with a girl dressed as abigail <333

it was so funny bc nobody recognized her until halfway through the day we were sat eating lunch i had my wig off and a group of three people came up asking if i was jane and we all got so excited fhskdjdj (i looked like this at that point btw)

this was my first time trying full face sfx makeup, i the dumbass as always did not practice beforehand but i still think it came out pretty neat, will definitely make prosthetics for next time so i dont have to do it day of (i do not photograph well and especially so when i cant move my face lol)

i didnt get any vids of the concert but THEY PLAYED GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD ???!?? favorite deep cut of theirs i was so excited

anyway sunday was just general vampire because i could not deal with sfx again and the only pic i have right now is another with mandie <333

Artair looks at this person, blinking hard at the directness of their approach. Few people ever ask about the arm off the bat, likely because they don't care, don't mind it, or don't know how to ask without maybe coming across rude.

But he hears him, and a cursory glance over him shows that-- well. There's some mutual ground for the question.

｢𓆄｣ At this point in time it had already been about two weeks since anyone had last seen Hawks. Presumably, after he sent out a mass text to anyone relevant which read:

[txt]: heyo dont worry about me. something happened and i need some time off and to myself [txt]: pls dont seek me out youre just gonna turn out empty handed and thats no fun for anyone [txt]: ill see yall when i get some much needed respite

And this was the last lifeline from two weeks ago. Any further attempts to contact him either went to voicemail or went undelivered via text message to his phone.

While he might've been seemingly AWOL, he still had his agency to run, which, for the most part, he could do remotely and without any real contact to anyone, So, he was able to keep that going for the time he was gone.

He needed something. Anything to distract from the real reality setting in. Hawks wasn't in the mindset to keep up with his life in Spirale, so it was just easier for him to detach himself for awhile while he parsed all the information that seemingly hit him like a freight train.

Mentally, as well as physically:

His body now wracked with burn scars, all along his back side and even creeping up on one side of his face. The scarred flesh was relatively so it was very taut and burned like hell. Not as bad as it did the first time it happened, but a second close. Hawks was sure his wings would never grow back properly, what, with them now being patched up with prosthetics to give them back the strength they once had. So he would be able to reach speeds he used to attain with ease.

Finally, he was grounded for the first time in two weeks, but, it's not like anyone else knew that. His phone was still off and the only thing on his person at the moment were his two katana: one staked into the ground as he was kneeling and leaning on it. Looking like he couldn't decide whether he wanted to take in the view, or just leave.

Regardless, this chapter of a man gone missing was coming to a close, but all he could do for the time being was stare at the flower fields below the cliff of Savior's Respite. Just a few more minutes couldn't hurt, until it was time to ease back into a life much more domestic than the one he was leading back home.

It's when he hears the rustling of grass beneath someone's feet that he rises, though, pointedly keeping his back to them. Whether it be out of shame or respect, it was hard to tell. Quiet words leave his throat.

"My bad. I was just getting ready to leave. Don't let me keep you from enjoying the view." It's obvious the man hasn't used his voice in awhile, as even speaking such simple words leave him almost breathless, his vocal cords having a scratchy-raspy quality to them from lack of use.

I love genex and ice barrier probably more than most people but come on konami where's the love for the other duel terminal archetypes! Stop dropping new cards for the ones that already have a large pool of cards to pull from and give the others some love! I want playable mist valley, flamvell and jurrac cards goddammit! Make some broken cards that only work for worms they'll never be good enough to break the game I promise

Being able to fight these intergalactic threats, go on the death defying journeys with pals new and old.

And still be able to make it back to the Express around 11pm to catch his favorite cartoon line ups. There's just a chaotic sense of freedom to know that TV is just always waiting back home after all of this.

For all of his hotheadedness, it's one of the best damn ways to decompress. Yes, if you join him, he'd be the type to toss a bag of chips at your face and tell ya to kick back too.

Those big glug slushies are also a valuable snacking option too. Being a guy of simple pleasures certainly does have it's advantages.

Fate can wait a lil bit.

YES you may ask about Xisuma and also anyone else you wish!

Xisuma is of Anseran ancestry, which is a particularly far-flung bit of space relative to our solar system. Most people find him quite intimidating at first, because Anser’s relative gravity is on the strong side so he has a lot more bulk than most species, and because his atmospheric filters cover most of his head. But this actually helps save him in the crash; his strength allows him to move debris the others can’t, and the atmospheric filters allow him to effectively breathe underwater. (All spacefaring Anserans have these atmospheric filters, because their native atmosphere is wildly different from nearly every other species known to the galaxy. As such, the filters can recreate Anseran air in pretty much any circumstance save the void of space or being encased in solid rock.)

Of course, the initial impression is all wrong. He’s still a derp, despite his expertise in cybersecurity and his newfound position as Captain Ren’s second-in-command. At the start of the story, when he’s still the only one who can regularly dive deep enough for materials thanks to his filters, he at one point tries to pet a pengwing and gets so startled by its teeth that the other survivors think he's dead from how loud he screamed. He spends five minutes trying to use a scanner to cut through a door when he needs a laser cutter. When Joe gets philosophical about the environmental impact they’re leaving on this uninhabited planet, he very clearly gets absolutely lost trying to follow along. He’s a derp and a sweetheart, and also the most physically imposing survivor of H-2 besides Impulse.

And, as mentioned, a cybersecurity expert. His role on the Hermatrix Convoy was to protect against and anticipate cyberattacks that could do anything from fry their navigation systems to steal passenger data. He specializes in generating and breaking cyphers, though he didn’t get many opportunities to flex that skill in space. On 4546-B, however, that lends itself surprisingly well to decoding the alien Architects’ data terminals, as well as making sure said data downloads into a computer of some kind rather than someone’s brain. 

Which, yes, did in fact nearly happen to Joe when they were first investigating the Architect lab they found in the ice caves, and Xisuma is very sure Joe is the last person in this group who needs more esoteric topics to discuss. Thank heavens it’s on his datapad instead, where he can play with the nice alien code in a much more familiar and accessible form until he understands it.

The clatter of metal on panel as the abused door flies off its hinges and bangs its way into the room. The lackadaisical bird can scarcely smooth down a feather before he finds himself up against the wall.

The voice that musters its way out is rather garbled (since he's being choked) but a querying tone of Surtr? might perhaps be registered by the cool dressed Sarkaz. All chaos aside, the light in his eyes and the contour of his brow shows the man to be pleased despite.
