Jakah was never the type to judge someone's motives or question in detail how a deceased person had died, and what had led to it. Everybody had their reasons. And he who was helping out clean the scene with his team wasn't much better than them. That was just the way of the world. However, something told him that in this case, it wasn't something intentional. Jakah nodded slightly. "Okay. Should we contact the person's family and relatives then? NO LITERALLY what we were talking about with jakah being fast and tiny and faster BECAUSE hes tiny, and therefore very good at slicing peoples' ankles . that would also apply to pickpocketing ! which in concept is just very fun to me! after the vamps escape the orphanage and start their new lives on-the-run, it's probably a while before they're able to grasp onto any sense of stability, so in those early years (which could mean anywhere from three years to like, thirty) they probably do a lot of pickpocketing and general minor misdemeanors in order to survive. also as far as food goes, even if they can eat SOME human food (like we saw shion eating ice cream that one time), its probably only liquids or liquid-adjacent foods, and they are still fundamentally vampires whose main source of food is blood. they wouldnt want to drink from humans, because something something morals something something still being conflicted about being vampires in the first place, but i DO wonder if the towns they pass through have... lots of complaints of suddenly/mysteriously disappearing or dead pets and livestock.

oh the immortality feelings... the sooha feelings.... theyre real. and i actually have a lot of feelings specifically ABOUT the boys and birthdays because if they had their memories wiped as soon as they came to the orphanage, they wouldnt exactly REMEMBER their birthdays, would they? and for a while (because of how the people in the orphanage isolate them) they probably wouldnt even know that birthday celebrations are a THING. after escaping, they'd probably stumble across a few, and there'd be yet another bulletpoint added to the list of experiences they'd missed out on because of the orphanage—maybe they'd celebrate the day they all woke up together at the orphanage, since to them that sort of WAS their birth; or a second birth, anyway (since none of them remember the first). they'd celebrate the beginning of their bond and give new meaning to a day that used to have only negative connotations (the day they were kidnapped, the day they were trapped, the day they began to be altered irreversibly from the people, the CHILDREN they once were). or maybe they'd celebrate the day they escaped, instead—after all, they didn't REALLY start living (ironically enough) until they were free. but after a while, like you said, they'd probably forget; they've lived so long that keeping track of the years via some arbitrary celebration doesn't seem necessary anymore—that's what the new year is for. but then sooha comes along, asking them about birthdays and parties and when they should celebrate, then expresses shock when she hears that they don't celebrate their birthdays at ALL. they of course explain it to her; they dont remember their actual birthdays, plus they've lived so long that celebrating another year feels inconsequential. she insists, well, if you dont celebrate YOUR birthdays we'll just celebrate mine—and when the day comes she drags them all to some diner or ice cream parlor or movie theater in town and they spend the day together. the boys realize—or remember��huh, this isnt actually so bad; and maybe when everything quiets down sooha says to them, "when you get your memories back, we'll celebrate ALL of your birthdays."

However, on the other edge of the knife, it made it harder to get closer to others, even though Jakah always said he liked being alone. But with Zach, with was just so easy for him to be himself. What was even Jakah even thinking? All of this was everything that he stood against. He always kept his work separate from his personal life, period. Mixing those up was only going to lead to unnecessary complications. When the other had paid him after the cleaning job was finished, he should have walked out of his office right there and then. Then why in the hell didn't he turn down the offer of something more than what they had initially made a deal for?

Perhaps it had to do with the need to wind down. As much as this case wasn't as severe compared to the much more gruesome things he's seen, his job took its toll on everybody who thought they had the stomach to handle it without it making them feel sick every 4 minutes or faint. Even if they were someone like Jakah who was more or less used to seeing the horrors of real life. But that was just a theory.

Whatever it was that made him decide to say had led him with his back lying against the other's desk, with Korn buried deep inside, the both of them half naked in a moment of rush, and Jakah keeping one of his hands against his mouth to muffle any sound just in case there was still anyone around that could potentially hear them. "Y-yeah." He grunted, only being able to keep his answer short.

LSGFJFHJF its fine (maybe not but whatever) its not like i stay up crazy late and wake up crazy early, these days i stay up to anywhere between 1 and 4 am and wake up between ten and, like, 2 pm (altho my average is between 11 and noon). im sure its probably unhealthy somehow but i definitely do get enough rest (except for today when i had to get up early to intercept a package for my dad-- i compensated via 2 hour nap later tho), and i am aiming to get my average down to like. 1 in the morning instead of 4. i kinda just revert to being semi-nocturnal every summer lmao

ive always liked the idea of vampires being able to turn into bats because i love animals a lot and supernatural creatures that can turn into other things have always been super fascinating to me (werewolves, selkies, and the like). but in canon yeah its probably more likely that they CANT do that (the idea of it being a harmful stereotype is hilarious), although there will always be an au in my head where they can. in canon, however, the concept of the brothers adopting bat-like behavior despite... not actually being able to do that is top quality-- AND YES god i bet hanging upside down from a tree like that would do WONDERS for your back jakah is so right (i personally have shit posture and my back is probably all sorts of messed up in very tiny ways because of it lmao), but now im also getting the image of the scene directly after that where the branch cant hold their combined weight and gives with them still hanging from it, so they end up in one big pile of vampire on the ground with a bigass tree branch on top of them. and solon is just staring at them completely deadpan like "you deserved that"

NO YEAH THE SCHOOL CRYPTIDS 100%. the hypocrisy of the general student body feels so funny to me, because your regular average student might be like "i havent slept in three days these finals are killing me" and immediately get a minimum of ten scolding/disgusted remarks from their friends like "yeah you LOOK like it" "bro thats not healthy get some sleep" "do i need to bring you a pillow?" "or some sleep-inducing tea?" also to add onto the cryptid notion . i imagine that WHEN they're pulling all these all-nighters, the vamps get restless and leave the dorm to walk around for a bit (ignore both the concept of a curfew and the fact that decelis is a night school when reading this following sentence), and theyre probably not the only ones doing this because. finals. high school. you get the idea. and if the glowy eyes in the dark thing i mentioned with noa applies to ALL the vampires,,, there have probably been several instances of perfectly normal students walking around the campus at night in the dark and coming across these tall, shadowy figures in the halls with bright glowing eyes and. well. good thing they were already planning to not get any sleep that night ksgdjfbfn

"No problem, take your time." Jakah needed to finish his drink even if there wasn't much left, anyway. He down the rest of his drink as he waited for Jongin, he had already settled the bill, so they could go when he was ready. Soon enough the other returned and Jakah gave him a nod, letting out a small chuckle at the comment about making sure nothing would set on fire. "Same here. Where would you like to go? I think I saw some sort of festival going on nearby on my way here, I bet the rides are still working." He thought he also saw a haunted house too, he would guess it was booming now since night was the perfect time to go in one, though he wasn't sure if it was a good a good idea for a first spontaneous date. Plus, he wasn't sure what Jongin would be into when it comes to dates.

"Don't worry about it, I am all right, just give me a few minutes," Jongin promised and with that, disappeared into the staff-only area of the night club. By now, his team worked perfectly, especially all of those at today's shift was a team he often worked with and he knew, they would handle it quite well even without him around. He grabbed his personal things, brushed his hair back, and joined Jakah in the promised time frame. "All right, I have made sure nothing will stand in flames and we can move on comfortably. I am good to go whenever you are."

Jakah growled with annoyance. Why was Elian so reckless?! Wasn't he at least one bit worried that something might happen to him? If someone were to target him, then they would use their chance the moment the other had his guard down. And here Jakah's job was to keep his own guard up and make sure the area if clear of threats so that Elian wouldn't need to think about it at all. Ugh, stupid vampires. Why did he even take in this job? Just because he considered the other somewhat close? What a joke. "Oh, I am more than an annoyed. Don't even think of trying this again." Even if Elian wanted some personal time, he could have been at least honest with Jakah so he could act accordingly. And I would lose a friend, Jakah wanted to say. He wanted to say many things, actually. But he was feeling frustrated, Elian didn't want to listen to him, would it really matter? "So this is stupid to you? Fine then. I resign."

The vampire raised both brows when hearing the males voice, turning around to face him. He had no doubt that Jakah would find him, he always did, somehow. He assumed it was that wolfish nose that could track him down so easily. "What's work without a little challenge." Elian sighted, running a hand through dark hair while he waited for the wolf to catch up with him. "You can.. cut down on your tone, I get it, you're annoyed." Elian was great at looking pouty, which he now did with Jakah raising his voice. "What's the worst potential outcome? My parents losing another vampire prince? They will just make a new one.." Hands in the pockets of his pants, Elian would lower his gaze shortly. "All I wanted was to go on a quick walk, some fresh air. I shouldn't have to inform anyone about something stupid like that."
