God's favorite jesters!🃏
I didn't know if this would look better as a tarot card or as a regular illustration, so I added both versions!
The Fool is one on my favorite tarot card, its meanings are the embrace of new beginnings, the expansion of one's horizons, and the willingness to take risks guided by intuition!
I think this is also suitable for "The Lovers" card, but it's so used and I wanted to do something different, however, in my heart there is a glimmer of hope that someone will send it to someone they care about saying "us🥰💞"

midway through incorporating a character of mine into the tarot card from the Major Arcana deck. Specifically the card: The High Priestess
(don’t stare at the pillars stare at the overly detailed corset, click in for better quality!)
cards I was using for reference:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/23e79860f7cacb4f9e17346b7205da63/8d9605df9cb06c4d-c5/s540x810/403f2a35828ab4e682b9e3ff74612aee03bf1850.webp)

for y’all non Tarot Card interested folks, here’s a short rundown of what this tarot card means. The info I got from here. The High Priestess:
Upright Keywords: unconscious, intuition, mystery, spirituality, higher power, inner voice
Reversed Keywords: repressed intuition, hidden motives, superficiality, confusion, cognitive dissonance
The meaning of the High Priestess is related with inner knowledge. Her appearance in a reading can signify that it is time for you to listen to your intuition rather than prioritizing your intellect and conscious mind. When the High Priestess shows up it can depict an archetype known as the divine feminine - the mysterious female that understands and holds the answers to the deep unknowns; religion, self, nature. She represents someone that is intuitive, and beginning to open to her or his spirituality. Meditation, prayer and new spiritual work is indicated.
“Her appearance in a reading can signify that it is time for you to listen to your intuition rather than prioritizing your intellect and conscious mind.”

Another nereid Irene (Cyrene technically) piece because her being a nereid in her past life is now canon and the sketch that I originally started in my tiny ass a5 sketchbook took 8 hours in ibis paint🤡 can’t wait to get back to my geriatric nursing home age ass computer 💔💔
Lotus flowers and cherry blossoms you will always be famous🙏🌚 like I feel smart bcs lotus flowers symbolise rebirth and she’s a nereid first, dies and gets reborn as a Breton called Irene and then she dies again cuz of mannimarco and gets turned into a vestige🤯
I kind of want to do a second matching piece to accompany this one but with human Irene this time and also bcs I really like this format that’s almost similar to like tarot cards I think?

ANUBIS
WHO IS HE?
Anubis, also known as Inpu and Anpu in Ancient Egyptian mythology, is the god of funerary rites, protector of graves, and guide to the Underworld, in Ancient Egyptian mythology, usually depicted as a canine or a man with a canine head.
BASIC INFO:
Appearance: in Egyptian mythology, Anubis is typically depicted as a jackal-headed deity or a man with the head of a jackal. He is often depicted wearing a loincloth and holding a flail or a pair of scales. The jackal head represents Anubis' role as the guide to the Underworld, while the flail and scales represent his role as the judge of the dead. Some later representations of Anubis also show him holding a scepter, which is a staff symbolizing power and authority.
Personality: he is often portrayed as a serious and mysterious figure. He is known as the guide and guardian of the Underworld, and he is responsible for helping the dead on their journey to the afterlife. Anubis is also depicted as just and fair, using his scales to weigh the heart of the deceased against the Feather of Ma’at to determine their worthiness for the afterlife. Despite his association with death and the Underworld, Anubis is also seen as a protector and guide for the living, and he is believed to help those who call upon him for protection and guidance.
Symbols: flail, crook, sceptre, and mummy gauze
God of: the dead, mummification, embalming, the afterlife, and tombs
Culture: Egyptian
Plants and trees: star anise, benzoin, cloves, cardamom, frankincense, myrrh, rosemary, cypress, pomegranate, cedarwood, blue lotus, juniper, lilies, and black roses.
Crystals: black obsidian, onyx, jet, garnet, smoky quartz, babingtonite, augite, alabandite, agate geode, petrified palmwood, brochantite, agate, labradorite, trolleite, melanite, dendritic opal, larvikite, biotite, fire opal, merlinite, bloodstone, hematite, and black tourmaline.
Animals: jackal, dog, flies, scarab beetle, Ibis bird, and snake
Incense: cinnamon, sage, frankincense, cedarwood, pomegranate, myrrh, copal, dragons blood, and vanilla
Practices: death witchcraft, necromancy, protection, death magick, guidance (especially through transitions), shadow work, funerary rites, cremation rituals, death positive activism, funeral service provision, divination, and ancestor worship
Colours: black, gold, green, and red
Number: 13
Zodiac: Scorpio
Tarot: Death
Planets: Pluto
Days: Monday, Thoth (Thuty) Festival, Opening of the Mouth ceremony, Festival of the Divine Birth, Nile Flood Festival, Festival of the Dead, and Festival of the Jackal
Parents: Ra (his father originally), Hesat (mother), Bastet (sometimes referred to as his mother), Osiris (his father in later stories), and Isis (his mother in later stories).
Siblings: Horus, Babi, Sopdet, Wepwawet, and Bata
Partner: Anput and Nephthys
Children: Kebechet
MISC:
• Flail: the flail is associated with Anubis because it was believed to have been used by him in the process of mummification. In ancient Egyptian mythology, the flail was a tool used to separate the body of the deceased from its wrappings. It was also associated with the idea of balance and justice, as the flail had two heads that were believed to represent the balance of life and death. In some depictions, Anubis is shown holding a flail in his hands as a symbol of his role as a judge of the dead.
• Crook: it was a staff with a curved end and was used by shepherds to guide their flocks. In Egyptian mythology, the crook was associated with the god Osiris and later with Anubis as well. It was believed to represent Anubis' role as a shepherd of souls, guiding the deceased through the afterlife and protecting them from danger. Additionally, the crook was seen as a symbol of authority and power, as the pharaohs were often depicted carrying one as a sign of their divine rule.
• Sceptre: in ancient Egypt, a sceptre was a staff that was carried by the pharaohs and gods to symbolize their power and authority. For Anubis, his sceptre was known as the Pesesh-kef Sceptre, and it represented his role as a guide and protector of the dead. The Pesesh-kef was a symbol of his status as a god and was used to perform rituals and ceremonies related to the afterlife. It was also believed to have healing or magical properties and was sometimes buried with people to protect them on their journey through the afterlife.
• Jackal: Anubis is often depicted with the head of a jackal, which is one of the reasons why jackals are associated with him. Jackals were considered scavengers and were known to be present in the deserts where many Egyptian burials took place. For this reason, they were believed to have been closely associated with death and the afterlife. The jackal was also said to have the ability to navigate the underworld, which further strengthened its association with Anubis, who was considered the guide and protector of the deceased in the afterlife.
• Mummy gauze: the material used to wrap and bind the mummies of the deceased. Anubis, as the god of mummification and the afterlife, was closely associated with the practice of mummification and often depicted holding rolls of mummy gauze as a symbol of his role. In addition, mummy gauze was believed to have magical or protective properties, and some Egyptians would use it as a talisman to keep themselves or their loved ones safe from harm. As a result, mummy gauze became a potent symbol of Anubis' power and connection to the underworld.
• The colour black: often associated with death and the underworld, this is likely because of the dark, fertile soil of the Nile River banks, where many Egyptian burials took place. Anubis, as the god of death and the afterlife, was closely associated with the Underworld and the process of mummification, which required the use of black resin and tar. As a result, the color black became a powerful symbol of Anubis and his domain, and was often used in paintings, carvings, and other representations of the god.
FACTS ABOUT ANUBIS:
• He likes metal music (especially black metal), dark crystal jewelry, gothic style, and dark coloured sports cars.
• In the Egyptian Book of the Dead, it is said that Anubis weighs the heart of the deceased against the Feather of Ma’at to determine their worthiness for the afterlife.
• Anubis was regularly invoked for protection as well as vengeance.
• He helped Iris bring Osiris back from the dead.
• His time of day is dusk.
• Anubis is very caring and kind to his worshipper.
• The name “Anubis” is the Greek form of the Egyptian name “Anpu” which means to decay.
• He is not a demon or evil entity.
• Anubis was said to be the creator of embalming.
• The Greeks associated Anubis with Hermes, the Greek god who guided the dead to the afterlife. The two would be joined together to create Hermanubis, making him more accessible to non-Egyptians.
• A very sweet entity and only wishes to help guide people in the right direction.
• He knows the date of everyone’s death and may be petitioned to reveal it.
• Anubis is one of the oldest Egyptian gods.
• He is represented by the colour black.
HOW TO INVOKE ANUBIS:
Connect with Anubis as you would any other deity—with profound respect and gratitude. He selects devotees who are willing to face their shadows, and who aren’t afraid of spirts and death. Come to him with a pure heart and pure intentions.
To work with him, you can: read about him, create sacred altar space for him, leave offerings for Anubis in his sacred space, call him by his real name Anpu (to decay), research the mummification process and purpose, explore your beliefs about death, do shadow work and ritual work with him, and visiting cemeteries.
PRAYER FOR ANUBIS:
Oh great and powerful Anubis, Lord of the Dead and guide of souls, I call upon you now in this moment. I honour and respect your wisdom and strength, and I seek your guidance and protection on my journey through this life and into the next.
Please bless me with your presence and wisdom as I embark on this new path. Show me the way to make the choices that will lead to a good and honorable life, and give me the courage to face the unknown with bravery and confidence.I offer this prayer to you with gratitude and reverence. Hail to you, Lord Anubis.

The Star
"In a general context, The Star indicates hope for the future, inspiration and contentment. With this Major Arcana card it evokes very positive feelings, motivated and free. The Star brings hope, renewed power, and strength to carry on with life. It shows how abundantly blessed you are by the universe as evidenced by the various things around you. It may not be directly evident at the moment, for this card follows the trauma of the Tower card. The Star indicates that you have come through the tough times with a renewed sense of self and the world around you. It is full of calm, well-balanced energy and represents the openness to healing wounds of the past. Whatever mental, emotional, physical or spiritual issues that were experienced...they are now behind you. You are ready to embrace what your future holds. Trust that the universe has a plan for you and trust the feeling you have that everything is going to be okay. The card represents confidence and trust that people will like you for who you are. The Star can also indicate creativity and artistic flair. " "When the Star card is reversed, it means that you are feeling as though everything has turned against you. The challenges that you would normally see as exciting seem instead to make you feel as though you cannot overcome them. You have lost faith in something, whether inside yourself or with something you normally find dear. Without hope, without faith, we cannot find the motivation to progress forward in the challenges that we face. Where in your life are you feeling hopeless? In what ways do you already feel defeated? And how does that affect your actions? The star reversed asks us to nurture our sense of hope and positive energy to help propel our actions with joy instead of fear. " The bird is an Ibis. In the Star card it is perched by the tree. It is associated with the Egyptian God Thoth, the scribe of the Egyptian pantheon that is associated with learning, science, magic and the moon. Thoth was often depicted as a healer and an arbiter.
This is the first I chose in a Stranger Things Tarot set I am starting. I think in the past I would have seen Will as the Hanged Man or The Fool, but with Season 4 and the prospect of Season 5 I think The Star is a perfect fit for him. <3

Libra
September 23 - October 23
Thoth, God of Knowledge, and Ma’at - Goddess of Truth and Divine Justice
The zodiac series: Libra art by Johfra Bosschart
The tenth holy night of the Christmas season, from January 2 to 3, corresponds to rulerships, the higher intuition (Buddhi, life spirit) and the constellation Libra. In the painting below, Johfra (1919-1998) depicts characteristics of the Libra, and in the following text he provides an explanation.
The Libra is a positive sign, sky in essence, the sign the sun is at the beginning of fall as it crosses the equator to enter the period of winter. The ruling planet is Venus. The distinctive quality of this sign is balance and harmony. That is why the composition of this painting, like that of the Twins, has been kept symmetrical.
In the sign of Libra, the orientation of the soul changes. While in the preceding six signs the emphasis of the evolving human being has been on the self, in the following six signs the non-self is central to the acquisition of experience. It is Venus, the goddess of love, harmony and beauty who reigns here.
It is above all also the balance between head and heart, mind and feeling, which is the aim of this sign. That is why I also involved Thot-Hermes in the performance when compiling the symbolism. Just as I have pictured Mercury as ruler of the mind in his Egyptian form, so here also the goddess Venus appears in her Egyptian form as Hator, the goddess of joy, dance, celebration and love, with cow horns and ears. The two figures keep a balance.
On the one scale the feather of Maat – so again the soul-judgment, but then in connection with love-wisdom. The placement of Mercury to the left and Venus to the right of the balance refers to the kabbalah where Hod, the sefira who rules over the mental aspect in man, stands below on the left pillar of the tree of life (the pillar of austerity), while Nezach, the feeling , is at the bottom of the right pillar (of loving kindness or mercy). So here too the perfect balance between reason and emotion is expressed. Left and right absolutely need each other. Reason without feeling is sterile and deadly. The emotion without the corrective mind is just sentimentality and creates chaos. Both are very dangerous abilities without their polar opposites.
Nezach is the seventh sefira. Hence Hator carries a seven-pointed star between her horns. Below it is the astrological sign of Venus. In her hand she holds a sistrum, the ritual ringing instrument of the Hator priestesses. The four serpentine rods it contains represent the four elements that harmoniously resonate in the cosmos. Winding around the figure of the ibis-headed Thoth are the well-known serpents of the Mercury staff — the negative and positive forces united in harmony. In his hand he holds the ankh cross – the symbol of eternal life among the ancient Egyptians. At the center of his belt is the astrological sign of the planet Mercury.
The harmonic duality of the sign Libra is further depicted in the lower part of the painting by the two Assyrian sphinxes. These represent the chariot (arcanum 7) on the tarot card, which is associated with the sign of Libra. Here the two sphinxes pulling the chariot represent opposing cosmic forces, which work harmoniously under the guidance of the charioteer.
In the painting, the two animals are also symbols of the four elements in a positive (male sphinx) and negative (female sphinx) respect: the head is the element of water, the lion's front legs are the element of fire, the wings are the element of air and the bull's abdomens are the element earth – completely analogous to the four beasts of Ezekiel and the four symbols of the evangelists from the previous sign of Virgo.
The black and white checkered tile floor also refers to the harmonious cooperation of the polar forces at the foundation of the cosmos (this is the floor of the temple of the Freemasons). The lily in the foreground represents the serenity that results from the perfect balance between head and heart.
In the middle of the tiled floor is another Masonic symbol, namely the altar in the shape of a cube. The cube represents the foundation, because it consists of squares. This "cubic stone" is the "cornerstone", the Christ. It is the philosopher's stone of alchemy. This sacred altar in the temple, where the light of the spirit is always burning and never extinguished, was the Hindu symbol for our sign Libra. Officially, this cubic stone should be black and opaque. However, I painted it as a crystal to show the sphere, the golden seed it contains. This also contains the astrological sign for Libra, also in a heptagon, for Venus is related to Nezach (the seventh sefira on the tree of life).
When the cube is unfolded, the six faces form a Christian cross. In that case, the golden seed in the center of this cross. This image is directly reminiscent of the rosary, where the rose is also attached to the center of the cross – see the scales as a rosy cross above. I chose the sign of the Rosycross because this order also strives for the balance between head and heart in building the perfect man. The red rose is the flower of Venus, for it represents self-sacrificing love.
Furthermore, some other symbols related to the union of the opposites: the Chinese yin-yang symbol in connection with the polarization in primordial matter, the superimposed ∞ (the lemniscate, the symbol of infinity), the polar forces of the sun and moon, the spirit and the soul, interacting eternally. - Johfra Bosschart
