In una campagna nota come "Operazione Hiram" fu realizzato un trasferimento indiscriminato di popolazione dalla Galilea. Durante questa campagna, ha scritto Morris, le forze armate sioniste eseguirono "un numero insolitamente elevato di esecuzioni di popolazione civile contro muri o nei pressi di un pozzo con notevole metodicità". Molto scrupolosamente, Morris cita ventiquattro episodi di terrorismo o di massacro, di cui i più efferati ebbero luogo a Saliha (78 uccisi), Lod (250), Dawayima (centinaia) e, ovviamente, nel già citato villaggio di Deir Yassin. Alcuni di questi massacri furono probabilmente perpetrati per ragioni tattiche: a Dawayima, nei pressi di Hebron, per esempio, "una colonna entrò nel villaggio sparando all'impazzata e uccise qualsiasi cosa si muovesse". Altri massacri rispondevano, invece, all'intento strategico di terrorizzare la popolazione affinché fuggisse. Questi massacri non furono certo tenuti nascosti dalla popolazione palestinese. Dopotutto, come ebbe a dire una volta Lenin, l'intento del terrorismo è terrorizzare. (Morris, ricordiamo per inciso, ha giustificato i sionisti richiamandosi alla logica del ben noto aforisma di Lenin: "Per fare la frittata occorre rompere le uova").

Secondo un testimone oculare di Deir Yassin: «Deir Yassin era un villaggio che fu attaccato dagli israeliani, o dai sionisti, il 9 aprile 1948. […] Incontrerà delle persone che le diranno: "Questo è quello che successe a Deir Yassin", perché loro erano là. Ho incontrato una donna che mi ha detto che le portarono suo figlio e le dissero di prenderlo in grembo e poi lo uccisero. Usavano coltelli, baionette. Un macello; non un combattimento. Non c'era nessuno da combattere. Erano prevalentemente donne e bambini. Molte, moltissime persone furono massacrate in quel villaggio. Questo massacro terrorizzò l'intera Palestina. Tutti parlavano del massacro di Deir Yassin.» Complessivamente, furono cancellati oltre cinquecento villaggi palestinesi. La maggior parte dei palestinesi che fuggì fini in Cisgiordania, nella striscia di Gaza, nei paesi arabi limitrofi. Quelli con un certo grado di istruzione, con specializzazioni o disponibilità economica cercarono di rifarsi una vita meglio che poterono, talvolta in luoghi lontani come il Golfo persico, l'Europa, le Americhe. Quelli che non furono altrettanto fortunati finirono nei campi profughi, organizzati, inizialmente, dallo United Nations Releif for Palestine (Unrp). "

Mentre, com'è noto, "Sovrano (cioè l'effettivo titolare del potere) è colui che decide sullo stato di eccezione, nel senso che decide che sussiste lo stato di eccezione e, secondariamente, che decide cosa si debba fare per superarlo" (Karl Schmitt, Teologia politica). 2. Sempre Schmitt (ibidem): "lo Stato (oggi, precisamente, l'entità, non statuale ma "sovranazionale", che decide sullo stato di eccezione e come superarlo) precede logicamente e cronologicamente l'ordinamento giuridico, e se il diritto ha bisogno dell'autorità per venire ad esistenza, perché è la decisione dell'autorità che crea il diritto, l'autorità non ha bisogno del diritto per venire ad esistenza, perché l'autorità fonda la propria esistenza in se stessa, nella potenza del potere politico". 2.1. In sostanza: "l'autorità dimostra di non aver bisogno di diritto per creare diritto", cioè il diritto che viene effettivamente applicato è quello del "più forte". 3. Ora cosa sono le regol€ di bilancio dell'eurozona se non uno stato di eccezione a tempo indefinito e "a risoluzione impossibile", poiché esse stesse precludono l'unica soluzione di una crescita adeguata? Cosa sono, tali regol€, se non una pura riaffermazione della propria più forte autorità, in special modo, da quando le si considera implicitamente prevalenti sui principi fondamentali della Costituzione, proprio allorché si nega una gerarchia tra i "valori" della Costituzione, con la giustificazione schmittiana (!) di volerne evitare la (misteriosa)"tirannia"? Cosa altro possono essere, se si dimentica, in ogni ragionamento giuridico, (ma pure economico) che dalla Costituzione soltanto deriva l'adesione e il mantenimento in effetto dei trattati UE? 4. Quale autorità può ormai vantare la Costituzione, se viene "riletta" come una fonte che, di fatto (cioè per pura logica di incontestabile "forza", al di fuori di ogni cosciente richiamo alla gerarchia delle fonti), è abrogabile/disapplicabile ad opera di qualsiasi livello e fonte di diritto UE, in particolare rifiutando di porsi un problema di comprensione sia del paradigma politico-economico ordo-liberale dei trattati, sia del modello socio-economico della Costituzione? 5. E dunque, quale potere, autolegittimantesi sull'autorità effettiva, rimane alle istituzioni nazionali, una volta private della "forza" pre-giuridica costituita dall'agire del Potere Costituente del 1948 (sostituito dall'adesione a dei trattati ratificati con mera legge ordinaria)? 6. Questa realtà sociologica, di puri rapporti di forza, spiega "andreottianamente" (ovvero, a la Tayllerand) il costante e prevedibile logorio cui sono soggette le autorità politiche nazionali. 7. Queste, una volta private del potere di decidere sullo stato di eccezione - ciò che in effetti presuppone l'autorità effettiva, che si manifesta, prima di tutto nel potere di emettere moneta, di decidere sul livello del bilancio statale, di decidere su fini fondamentali del popolo, fondati sull'autorità della Costituzione -, accettano e subiscono, costantemente, lo stato di eccezione dichiarato dalle regole UE (il quale, in pratica, vige dal 1991). 8. Tale stato di eccezione, essenzialmente, è una conseguenza del modo in cui viene considerato, d'autorità (vincolo esterno dei trattati), il debito pubblico nazionale. La sua considerazione secondo un indice numerico del tutto arbitrario, rapportato al PIL annuale, unito, in modo coessenziale, al divieto di garanzia da parte di una banca centrale nazionale, è il fulcro dell'autorità dei trattati. 9. Tale "considerazione" costituisce infatti, in un modo inizialmente e, tutt'ora per lo più, non avvertito dal popolo italiano, il presupposto per un perenne stato di eccezione. E quindi per la ri-dislocazione, al di fuori dalla Nazione e dalle sue istituzioni costituzionali, della titolarità dell'autorità e della sovranità effettive.

We will henceforth not read submissions with rulebreaking names. Can't think of a name? Change some consonants! Our beloved Lizerd Kissur doesn't work, but let's substitute some letters, and hey, Vizert Gissur works pretty nice! If you have a character with a name like this, it'd be pretty cool if you changed it, but we won't enforce it. We accepted it, and you're all good! Here's a meme my dad sent me."

Pt 2 "Hey @/everyone ! A follow up announcement to yesterday's name ruling. I've seen a few people get confused about intention, so we're clarifying what is and isn't meant by our "no words" rule! In short, the "no words" rule could probably be more accurately put as "no words… unless they're obscure". A lot of the character submissions we were rejecting were words that were instantly recognisable (Vampyr, Tohbie, Garcon as equivalent examples). These names are very quickly recognisable as to their meaning— they're either mispellings of recognisable words, or common words in recognisable languages. What is okay, however, are English words nobody's ever going to say in regular conversation.

For example, want to name your librarian who makes a lot of footnotes "Ibidem"? Cool, no problem. Your character who specialises in string instruments is called "Buzuki"? Yeah, go for it. I guarantee nobody reading this knows what either of those are without googling it— and THAT'S the key here. We all know Eridan, Nepeta, Aradia, etc, that canon Homestuck characters have names derived from other words. But generally, these names are very obscure, and you are more likely than not going to not recognise them when you see them for the first time.

It's been pointed out that a lot of existing characters had names like these accepted, both on the mod team and off it. Some are entirely accidental— the Princess, for example, is named Anette, which was meant to be a pun of Marionette, but is also a French name. Other times, it's obviously intended, like Irstax the IRS Tax troll. "Mods!" I hear you cry. "Why is this allowed? Why are the mods allowed to do this, but not us? You are fiends, moderators! You have no honour, and Valhalla will spit you out when you die!" First off, yeah. Second off, it's very true that there's lots of existing characters with names like that.

The reason for the inconsistency is much more innocuous than a coordinated favouritism campaign though: not all the mods were on the same page about name rules. What was fine to some wasn't to others, so it was kind of luck of the draw as to whether your name got accepted or not depending on the mod going through your application. The rule being more closely enforced came up after the mods sat down, discussed it with one another after we noticed a lot of characters with these types of names, and decided this was the best way to handle the server, to be fairer to everyone. The mods are just as bound to them as anyone else, and we're not going to force any existing trolls to change names; we're just going to be a little stricter on characters named Funnie Joekes or the likes.

Again: classic, obscure word Homestuck names like Eridan, Bombyx or Jezail are fine! We never said they weren't. In fact, I encourage them to have etymology! Just make sure there's effort put into them to keep the setting Homestuck feeling."

Lizzerd Kissur is one of the most Homestuck sounding names I've ever heard, tbh.

I’m not trying to be rude because it really isn’t just you (which is sad) but normalize saying “white-coded” reader please, it’s very tiring to read a fic then seeing something like “you blushed” “your cheeks turned pink”, if your intended is white people then clarify that please.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I appreciate your honesty and the opportunity to reflect on how my writing may unintentionally exclude certain readers.

Your point about "white-coded" language in fiction is valid, and it's something I've been reflecting on recently. While I may not have initially considered the implications of phrases like "your cheeks turned pink," I did read a post about it a few weeks past and now I think twice about the way I write things since they can inadvertently reinforce a narrow representation of beauty and emotion.

Lately, I've tried to move into things like "blood rushed to your cheeks" and, "you felt the skin of your face warm", and while in the past I might have written, "your cheeks turned pink" I have actively tried to avoid it now.

Having said that, the example that you provide, "you blushed" did jump at me a little since I have never considered blushing as an exclusively white reaction. I am not white, and I blush, so I decided to do a bit of research, since, perhaps, my idea of blushing has been wrong all along.

According to Felix I D Konotey-Ahulu (a consultant physician in General Medicine & Tropical Medicine at Cromwell Hospital in London) "blushing is far more than a mere cutaneous phenomenon" (Ahulu, 2004). He states that "not being able to ‘see’ the rush of blood does not mean it has not happened" (ibidem).

Now he does speak of a "white definition of blushing", that being that your cheeks turn pink and/or red, but blushing, really blushing, is not inherently related to the colour changes of your skin, but rather to the feeling it evokes: the embarrassment, the shame, etc. At least that's how I've always seen it.

If white-centricness has turned it into something that it isn't, the rest us shouldn't be feeling as though we cannot blush because our skin isn't pale enough to let it be evident, because then, in any case, we're just letting the white appropriation to topple over the meaning behind words.

Blushing is not exclusive to white people, and it never has been.

Implying that it is, is just falling into the same idea of otherness that whiteness has imposed over years of colonization, but we ARE all humans and WE ALL feel fundamentally the same emotions. Blushing is a reflection of emotion more than a physical (discernable or not) reaction.

I'm not saying I have never written "your cheeks turn pink," I have, and I think it's more to do with the media that I've consumed than with me wanting to exclude any skin tone from my texts, as you mentioned, I am not the only one to write like this, and it's because we are all reading the same books and unfortunately, those actually ARE very white-centric. Now it is not an excuse and I certainly should and WILL be more careful with the way I word things, but I'm STILL learning how to write.

I apologize if my writing has made you feel excluded or overlooked. That was never my intention, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to rethink my approach to things.

Moving forward, I will be even more mindful of the language I use and strive to create a more inclusive experience for all readers. Your feedback is invaluable in helping me grow as a writer, and I thank you for bringing this important issue to my attention, even if I found the manner in which you sent the comment a little confronting (and slightly upsetting), as it felt like you were making assumptions about me and my intended audience.

Women who drink alcohol during pregnancy risk the health of the fetus and implicitly, the health of the child after birth. There are few studies made on humans in what concerns alcohol and interferences in prenatal development. That is why research is primarily based on animal studies. It is difficult to determine the exact amount of alcohol that can influence the fetus' development in a negative way and that is way women who plan to have a baby or women who found out that are pregnant should stop drinking during their pregnancies. Some of the most important consequences of severe exposure to alcohol during pregnancy are fetal alcohol syndrome or the death of the fetus. These two, are not the only negative effects that the alcohol has on prenatal development. The brain of the fetus and the healthy development of the fetus' body are also affected by alcohol. When a pregnant woman has a drink, her fetus has one too. "Alcohol, like carbon monoxide from cigarettes, passes easily through the placenta from mother's bloodstream into her baby's blood -- and puts her fetus at risk of having a fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). The blood alcohol level (BAC) of the fetus becomes equal to or greater than the blood alcohol level of the mother. Because the fetus cannot break down alcohol the way an adult can, its BAC remains high for a longer period of time." (Effects of alcohol on a fetus) Every part of the body is affected by alcohol exposure: the brain, ears, face, heart, eyes, kidneys and even bones. Alcohol has negative effects on every mechanism of the body. "Rather, alcohol sets in motion many processes at different sites in the developing fetus: Alcohol can trigger cell death in a number of ways, causing different parts of the fetus to develop abnormally. Alcohol can disrupt the way nerve cells develop, travel to form different parts of the brain, and function. By constricting the blood vessels, alcohol interferes with blood flow in the placenta, which hinders the delivery of nutrients and oxygen to the fetus. Toxic byproducts of alcohol metabolism may become concentrated in the brain and contribute to the development of an FASD." (Ibidem) For a conceptual distinction the prenatal development was divided into three stages: the predifferentiation period, the period of the embryo, and the period of the fetus. "The conceptus, throughout gestation, is in a continual state of orderly biochemical and structural transition during which new constituents are being formed and spatially rearranged." (Kathleen R. Stratton, Cynthia J. Howe, Frederick C. Battaglia, Institute of Medicine (U.S.). Division of Biobehavioral Sciences and Mental Disorders. Committee to Study Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (U.S.), page 37) Any teratogenic agents such as alcohol, or drugs, that interfere in the development can cause abnormalities of the body's physics and even of the organs (heart, brain etc.) Predifferentiation period refers at those six days, in which the oocyte passes the fertilization and inserts itself into endometrium. During this time, the ovum, passes through different mitotic divisions, and becomes a multicellular blastocyst. It seems that during this period the malformations that appear later are not due to alcohol. Researchers showed that a sever amount of alcohol leads to the blastocyst death, and if the alcohol affects only a small number of cells, "regulative mechanism result in repair with no apparent damage." ( Ibidem) A later study (Padmanabhan and Hameed, 1988) showed "that alcohol exposure on gestation days 1-6 did not influence litter size (implantation), but markedly increased prenatal mortality (resorptions) and resulted in increased placental weights, decreased umbilical cord length, and decreased fetal weight at gestation day 15 in surviving litters." (Ibidem) This research concluded that consumption of alcohol at the beginning of the pregnancy can be lethal to the embryo. The second conceptual period was named the embryo period. During this time organs and multicellular tissues of various origins and function are beginning to format and later complete themselves. This process starts after the implantation takes place and continues until the eighth week of pregnancy. During the formation of organs, if exposed to alcohol, the embryo will suffer malformations. "The nature of the defects will depend both on the effects of the agent on embryonic cells and the gestation age at the time of exposure." (Idem, page 38) In contrast with the researches made on the first period, the effects of alcohol during this period had been studied a lot. It had been showed that, exposure to alcohol during this stage leads to cell death. The most vulnerable are neuronal cells. Studies made on mice showed that exposure to alcohol on the seventh and eighth day of gestation leads to craniofacial malformations. These malformations are similar to those seen in fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS). Lemoine was the first who described fetal alcohol syndrome in a medical literature. This happened in 1968 in France. Soon after this, researches from United States published a landmark report in which they described the birth defects of children with alcoholic mothers. Since then fetal alcohol syndrome was acknowledged in almost all countries. "Briefly, FAS refers to a constellation of physical abnormalities, most obvious in the features of the face and in the reduced size of the newborn, and problems of behavior and cognition." (Idem, page 17) Apart from these anomalies, the brain is also affected (e.g. microcephaly, deficiencies in cerebral hemispheres, lateral ventricles, limbic structures etc.). According to some research ocular defects such as anophthalmia, corneal and lens anomalies, were linked to severe exposure to alcohol on the seventh day of gestation. In contrast, heart anomalies; such as anomalies of great vessels and reduced size of cardiac tube and also skeletal anomalies were linked to the severe exposure of alcohol on the eighth day of gestation. "It was concluded (Kotch and Sulik, 1992) that alcohol teratogenesis and the patterns of malformations induced at times corresponding to late in the third and early in the fourth week postfertilization in the human can be directly correlated to the selective cytotoxic effects of alcohol coupled with the selective vulnerability of the cells at the margin of the anterior neural folds. In contrast, acute alcohol exposure on gestation days 9 and 10 was found to produce urogenital anomalies (hydronephrosis, hydroureter) (Boggan et al., 1989; Gage and Sulik, 1991; Gilliam and Irtenkauf, 1990; Randall et al., 1989) and limb anomalies involving forelimbs (including ectrodactyly, polydactyly, syndactyly) (Gilliam and Irtenkauf, 1990; Kotch et al., 1992; Randall et al., 1989; Webster et al., 1980, 1983). A much lower incidence of malformations was observed when alcohol exposure was restricted to gestation days 12-14." (Idem, page 38-39) The last stage named the period of fetus begins when the organogenesis ends and lasts until birth. In this period exposure to alcohol does not lead to considerable malformations. However, this exposure can bring modifications of tissue and damages the developing of the central nervous system (CNS). Also it can hold back the healthy growth of the fetus. These changes do not stop in this stage, but also continue in postnatal period and can go on until the second year of life. Genetic factors seem to have an important role in what concerns the effects of alcohol exposure. In 1993 Streissguth and Dehaene said that the outcome from monozygotic twins' research was clearer, than those from the dizygotic twins. They analyzed sixteen pairs of twins, five monozygotic twins and eleven dyzigotic twins. While all the monozygotic twins were concordant for verdict, only seven pairs of the dizygotic twins were concordant for verdict. In animal studies that they made, they concluded that not all of them were affected in the same. They deduced that genetic factors can determine the fetal vulnerability to the alcohol exposure, giving sensitivity or resistance to the alcohol exposure during specific stages of development. The exact amount of alcohol that can harm the embryo/fetus is unknown. In spite of this, it has been shown that as the dose of alcohol increases the embryo/fetus can suffer from unobservable effects to death. The relationship between the mother and the fetus in what concerns-dose response effects remains incompletely unstated. Although it is clear that severe exposure to alcohol leads to FAS, it remains uncertain if "there is a continuum of dose-response effects ranging from anatomic and behavioral changes at low to moderate maternal doses to full-blown FAS at high maternal doses, or if there are two or more thresholds resulting in degrees of impairment in function and structural malformation. As yet undefined is whether there is a LOEL distinct from the LOAEL for alcohol exposure in the fetus." (Idem, page 42) Numerous animal studies have been made to reveal the dose-response effects of exposure to alcohol during the gestation. In animal literature the meaning of "high," "moderate," or "low" doses of alcohol differ. To determine the level of alcohol, it is better to find out the level of alcohol in the blood, than to calculate the doses of alcohol that had been administrated. In humans a concentration of 100mg/dl of alcohol in blood can be considered high; a concentration between 50 an 100 mg/dl of alcohol in blood is moderate, and a low dose is when the concentrations of alcohol in blood is below 50 mg/dl. In animal research the blood's alcohol concentration seemed to be more relevant that the dose of alcohol that had been consumed. As previously mentioned, when a mother drinks alcohol, her fetus drinks too. "That's why abstaining from drinking throughout pregnancy and during breastfeeding is the best gift a mother can give her child -- it's a gift that lasts a lifetime." Roberto si riferiva ad una immagine il cui primo piano mostrava il subparabrezzico esploso di un abitacolo, ed io risposi che anche quello conteneva artistici addentellati nel senso della scultura.

Ed è proprio circa la scultura, oltre la pittura, che l'illuminazione proviene dall'ispirata Pluribrerista, Disegnatrice, Acquarellista, Scrittrice ed Insegnante Rosanna Schiattone.
