Greek Goddess Legacy Challenge: Generation #4 Demeter: Complete
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Good Goddess is also taking attendance: Demeter!
You absolutely hate the hectic place that is Del Sol Valley. You long for more nature, more peace and quiet. So when you accidentally get pregnant as a teen and your mother threatens to disown you, you decide to take matters in your own hands and move to the countryside. you have nothing there, but one of the Nymphs knows a place for you to stay. You find out that you are quite good with plants. You get by by selling your crops and make a home for you and your little baby. It will be forever you two against the world. Nothing can or will come between you two.
Little bit explanation with the sheets: - First sheet is for describing your current generation, with the challenges you need to do each life-stage. Also, because I love the myths, a bit of mythological background. May it inspire you :) - Second sheet is the preparation sheet for this generation, with important characters for your story. It is technically optional, but I love seeing sims with a backstory in my world, so I would highly recommend it. - Third sheet is for your gens children. They all have their own little challenges if your interested in those. I try to make all of them a bit different from each other, so it doesn’t get boring. Your heir is also on this sheet, but I’ve put their challenges on their own sheets. Stay tuned for those ;) - Fourth sheet is completely optional. If you want sims with names from the myths and love making sims to see them in your world, this is for you! All with a little mythological background ofc, you know me.
Next Generation is Persephone! Previous Generation was Hera First Generation is Gaia
The Greek Goddesses Challenge by LJJ-Sims is a challenge based on the ancient mythical creatures and stories from Greece. I fell in love with Greek mythology in high school and have not let that love go since. In this challenge you will follow 10 deities in their journey through life. Every goddess has a different take on and goal in life. Special about this challenge?  All your kids have little challenges of their own, not only your heir. These challenges are optional, so if you feel like these are too much or just too restricting for you: by all means let them go. I also have sheets for characters that you can make before you start each generation. This gives your challenge a lot more personality and makes it frankly easier and more fun!
A little disclaimer: because I made these gods and goddesses into a legacy challenge, the relationships in the myths don’t exactly match the relationship in this challenge. There is a lot of keep it in the family in mythology, to put it lightly. And apart from the fact that you can’t do that in the Sims, I don’t really like that part. So I didn’t include it, thus the inconsistency. An example: Ares is now Hera’s stepfather instead of her son, which she conceived with her brother  and husband Zeus. This inconsistency can also be found in the stories. It’s just based on and not copied exactly, as Sims live lives that are a lot shorter than those of immortal gods. And it takes a way from the creativity if we just copy the myths. Even if we wanted to do that, it’s quite hard, as every myths has its fair share of variations and some are just completely different stories.
I use the MCCC-mod to alter the length of life states. You can find the days-years ratio here: the boring stuff.

An underrated relationship is Demeter x Iasion. Shame Zeus had to ruin it.
I wonder if Iasion is staying at Hades’s place and wether Persephone would like him or not lol

Do you think Hades and Demeter buried the hatchet one day since one of Demeter’s sons is named Plutus

Zeus: Why does the mortal Iasion keep calling you "babygirl"? Demeter: how about we stop talking for a while.

If you were to comment on what is attractive about OTPs, how would you describe those ships?
yes, this ask is just an excuse for those who received it to ramble about their OTPs
To be perfectly honest I do not really have any OTP, nor am I an expert in relationships. Overall I can say that I like healthy, fluffy and cute couples. Or at least the endearingly sassy ones.
Nyx and Erebus give off Gomez and Morticia Addams to me.
Chiron and Chariclo is a highly underrated one, but there's a lot of potential to it and you can insert whatever headcanons or ideas you have onto them (I personally view them as one of those cute old couples).
Cadmus and Harmonia's relationship was the only peaceful thing from that cursed family tree.
Perseus and Andromeda's love story almost seems like a classic fairy tale, where the hero saves the princess from a dragon and they two get married and live happily ever after.
Demeter and Iasion (in Ovid's Metamorphoses where they have a long-term relationship) is equally an wholesome and tragic myth.
I can stand common tropes such as "enemies to lovers" only if it's a well-written, developed relationship (Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy) instead of some cringe romantasy rubbish.

Doodle dump (Greek mythology edition)
Persephone + Hades everyone’s favorite “functioning” Greek myth couple (when in actuality Persephone just wants to go home to her mom and is tired of dealing with Hades’s bullshit)
Tumblr media
Demeter and Iasion admiring her from afar(I love them and their relationship is underrated in my opinion)

It would be funny if Hades comments on Demeter becoming a sugar mama/cougar when she starts dating and later marries  Iasion . He knows that gods don't age but seriously this is top level cougar stuff right here.
GEKSHJDDJ YES OMG THAT’D BE HILARIOUS!!! 🤣 Hades totally would though lol!!! The possibilities are endless for that sort of conversation!! 🤣
Hades: So! Demeter, how does it feel to be a cougar?
Demeter: *scoffs* Excuse me?!
Persephone: (quietly) Oh, gods, Hades. Please don’t start.
Hades: C’mon, Demeter, you’re dating a mortal that’s 100s of years younger than you are. You’re basically a cougar…and I suppose when ya marry him you’ll pretty much become a cougar AND a sugar mama. I’d say that would probably be a win/win for your loverboy there.
Demeter: *scowling at Hades*
Persephone: *pulling Hades away from her mother* Y’know what? How about we go talk to Despoina I think I’d rather be doing that right now. C’mon.

Iasion? is he the one who was killed by Zeus for lying with Demeter in mythology? (Electra's son). I don't think in this version he is the son of Zeus or has ever died hahaha
Well yes. Some things have changed. I have de-related everyone relevant, for starters (easy in this case because he already has a half brother that is now just his brother), and as of yet Iasion is certainly not dead. (There are in fact multiple accounts of how he died; Zeus bolting him is only one option heh).
There will also be quite a bit of liberty taken with what he is up to in the coming book, because, well, I'm more interested in telling a good story than a totally myth-accurate one, and with what I plan to have PC and the others be getting mixed up in, I figured why not bring him into it, too?
