Spoilers for Flash #800!
Evan's back!! Not in a flashback story, he's in the prelude for Si Spurrier's upcoming Flash run! For those who are recent readers, he hasn't been around since Flashpoint (twelve years ago), so for me at least this is a welcome surprise. We know the upcoming run has been described as "cosmic horror", and this prelude fits the bill; Evan's been fixed up by the weird interdimensional tentacle thing, and it's given him some advanced tech and dragged him off to parts unknown to presumably do its bidding. Plus, its malevolent influence has spilled into the real world, or at least in a way that Wally can perceive.
It's a decent bet that the tentacle being rescued Evan from whatever limbo the altered timeline sent him to, but hopefully that'll be addressed once the new book relaunches in September.
McCulloch also appears in the Impulse flashback story, but doesn't really do much. He's just there to set up a problem for Bart to solve.
The story with Hunter is set in the present day, or at least sometime after the big revelation in Joshua Williamson's run that Eobard gave the fateful gun to the Clown. He's feeling vindicated that he had been correct all along: the Clown wouldn't have had the gun without Eobard's interference. Unfortunately it means he's back to his shenanigans about wanting to improve Wally, so he may show up sometime to make Wally's life hell again…or perhaps any other hero who gets in his way. He'll certainly be making Ashley's life more stressful once he makes himself known.
@kenais-posts @waterwindow @ianxfalcon may be interested in some of the crew in this issue! (Evan and Hunter)

waterwindow replied to your text post: that's really scary
Extremely so :( I don't know who to trust anymore, and it's strongly affected my enjoyment of the fandom. Which is to say I haven't enjoyed myself much for a long time now. It's also the reason I never go to your livestreams anymore, because I don't know who might be there and what their agenda might be.
meinarch replied to your text post: That's horrible. Why would they even do that to you?
Bullies often have a sixth sense for people who are shy and vulnerable (and just overall weak, I suppose), and I'm sure that's a big part of why this person targetted me. The other part is that this person just doesn't like me for whatever reason, and has come up with all sorts of justifications for why I deserve abuse. They keep bringing up that I "support" an unnamed person who is probably Cas even though she and I are just casual friends. But Cas is far more strong-willed than I am and has a low tolerance for bullshit, so I'm pretty sure that's why this person goes after me and not her. (If you're reading this, Cas, I don't blame you at all for the abuse. That's completely on the bully.)
They're also really mad that I blocked them in December 2017, which I did because they were publicly sneering about me and encouraging others to join in their hate campaign and that gave me terrible anxiety. They like to claim, however, that I blocked them because they and their friend were critiquing me. That is absolutely not true. Anyway, now they can't reblog stuff from me and that really pisses them off.
I've been bullied a lot throughout my life because I'm shy and autistic and socially awkward. There was no Asperger's diagnosis when I was a child, so everyone just treated me like a freak and that only increased my shyness and social anxiety. For this reason, abusive and bullying behaviour gives me a ton of anxiety, and that's the reason I've blocked them. A year and a half of this behaviour and stalking has really awakened a lot of past trauma, so this is really triggering the hell out of me. But for some reason this person considers it unacceptable for me to block the source of that trauma, and it's just increased the abuse.
The reason I'm talking frankly about this now is because I've pretty much reached my breaking point. This person isn't going to stop and I'm tired of feeling anxious and depressed all the time.
ianxfalcon replied to your text post: That is so weird and scary. I can't even imagine. Why won't they stop?
I wish I knew, because I honestly don’t understand. I think they just enjoy bullying people and I’m a convenient target.
tricksterrune replied to your text post: I'm so sorry this happens to you. There is no logic or empathy behind this person so you literally can't understand these actions. Report, block and block more
Thank you, and agreed that this person has little to no empathy, as they've said a couple of times that they find this "fun". It's very unsettling, and Tumblr did nothing.

@ianxfalcon always saw it that way too !
Nega Peeps
So… It’s a good thing that the citizens of the Negaverse don’t actually know that they are “Nega” (i.e. Nega-Gosalyn or Nega-Launchpad) or Negaduck would just be “duck”.
“FEAR me! I am Lord…Duck…!”

Killer Moth likes to "re-invent" himself periodically. He will dye his hair, redesign the mask and buy a new pair of tights, and then go around saying "Killer Moth is reborn, better and more dangerous than ever!" and believing it, too. If he's feeling particularly inspired, he will probably add something about bursting out of a cocoon. He thinks it sounds very profound.

**I was tagged by @youre-myfavoritebird **
Rules: tag 30 people (like Anna, I'll ignore this part lol) and answer 30 questions

17. Why did you choose this blog name: I felt whimsical, so I took the title from the Puyo Puyo game series by Compile/Sonic Team and added a random word at the end (Puyo Puyo games don't have heroes. Unless you count Howow Bird as a hero).

Spoilers for the Sandman Netflix series in this post!
t-bombs said: It is a very brief moment but I would wholeheartedly recommend The Sandman even without surprise Piper references! :D
ianxfalcon said: There are references to several Rogues in that episode! I love that those were the villains they chose to go with.
belphegor1982 said: Oh yeah, I've been meaning to send you an ask! (I thought I did - I have a shitty memory about asks, facepalm) I legit went "THEEMMMM" :D
elfgrove said: It's apparently a brief moment in episode 8.
Thanks all! Honestly, I've been really hyped to watch it and was wanting to see it ASAP after it released, it's just that life got in the way. But now I've got more reason to watch it, so I'll have to juggle it with Fictober :) Very cool addition on Gaiman's and Netflix's part!

ianxfalcon replied to your text post: Agreed about Willingham. He shouldn't be writing established characters; his run on JSA was the actual worst.
It was. And while Shadowpact was interesting, once again most of the characters pretty much sounded like he wanted them to and not as they'd been established previously. I do think his Detective Chimp is pretty good though, but it helped that Bobo hadn’t really been used in a while and Willingham kind of made him his own.
64th-century-exile replied to your photo post: This is the face of someone who'd turn your intestines into boa constrictors... *shudders*
Basically! He's pretty scary sometimes. I think I prefer the ham who can be dangerous, but this version is a very formidable foe.

belphegor1982 replied to your text post: On the 1st season Rogues - OH THIS, so much this. I remember how freaking EXCITED I was when I reached the Len & Mick episode, with Lisa's cameo at the end - I thought, YES, here are my dudes, NOW we're talking! And then it just... petered out :-/
Exactly. We were all so hyped and things were going great, and "petered out" is precisely the phrase I'd use. Like I said, I wonder if such a big supporting cast turned out to be too expensive or unwieldly -- they probably couldn't afford to sign all the Rogues, even the major ones, to guaranteed contracts to keep them available and ensure the actors are always around when needed, and maybe that was a logistics headache (for example, you write a Rogues script with Axel in it, and for some reason Devon Graye wasn't available so you have to rewrite it). If they said that, I'd accept that explanation. But you'd think we could at least get semi-regular appearances of various Rogues even if they aren't always together in the same episode, and we aren't getting that, so who knows what the reason is.
secondratevillain replied to your text post: Oh gosh I got such a giggle out of some of these :'D I'm having a hard time picking a favourite.
Tyrant Of The Twirly Toys will always be my favourite because it is so ridiculous and would clearly embarrass him :>
smoakiism replied to your text post: felicity calls them all these things
Definitely seems like something she'd have fun with! Cisco too!
ianxfalcon replied to your text post: So... much... alliteration... gahhh
I know, isn't it great? ;D
sammysdewysensitiveeyes replied to your text post: I'll always be annoyed at how the show dropped Hartley like a hot rock. They played up PR about "Look, an openly gay super-villain!" then gave him a half-assed redemption via time travel, and tossed his character out the window. I'm glad they made him good, but there could have been so much more interesting development there, especially seeing his reactions when he and Cisco realized that "Wells" was using them both.
Yes, there's a painful amount of missed potential in him and frankly most of the Rogues. I wonder if they had plans for Hartley after the Flashpoint timeline change but they got dropped for some specific reason, because that is a weird thing to introduce and then forget about. And it's a weird way to handle his redemption, as you say. Very unsatisfying, but at least it sets up potential episodes with him around and helping Team Flash...and then he was forgotten.
waterwindow replied to your text post: I'm pretty sure Batman called Digger an Obscene Outbacker in BATB
I went back and watched it, and you're right! Plus, Kadabra gets called "Most Malevolent Magician" in the episode, so I've added those to the list. Thanks for the tip!

@ianxfalcon I bet you anything that that is the exact reason Geoff Johns killed off Air Wave twice. Once in Infinite Crisis and a second time as a Black Lantern zombie in Blackest Night.
Y'know i can excuse coincidental similarities between DC characters but the fact that DC has a villain named Victor Zsasz and a hero named Victor Szasz that are in no way related to eachother is fucking ridiculous

There are Flash TV spoilers (regarding casting) in this post!
ianxfalcon replied to your link post: I'm down for a genderbent Evan. I'm less down for the complete change of backstory. And somehow I doubt she'll have a Scottish accent. Mixed feelings :(
I'm generally not keen on what we've heard so far, although in fairness, I haven't seen what they'll do and it could be good. It doesn't sound like she'll be anything like Evan, though, and I was really disappointed with how they did Rosa Dillon. There was almost nothing of Roscoe in her, so I don't really see the point. Then again, I suppose one can say that about a lot of the CWverse Rogues, and that's a big part of my disappointment with it. I guess if any given Rogue is good I'll enjoy that on its own merits, but it still isn't the character I hoped to see.
secondratevillain replied to your photo post: Considering how the glasses make him look like Andy Mientus, can we please get him back on the Flash show in this outfit?
Yeah, it's an interesting design which melds a few of his looks and is thus quite clever. That said, I dunno if the polka dots would really fly today on TV...maybe if it was this look, but in solid green? (or varying shades of green to break up the monotony.) That'd be really cool!
secondratevillain replied to your photo post: Okay this comment really got me 😂
Who else is fast enough and evil enough to do it every time??

ianxfalcon replied to your photo post: Thank you!!! I did miss it! Oh, man, Hunter's got no chill.
I should have tagged you the first time, and I'll try to remember that when he next appears, since he's supposed to be in other issues in this arc. And yeah, he's definitely been taking inspiration from Eobard's relentless sass...I fear the next time the two of them are in proximity to each other, because reality may collapse under the weight of that much trolling.
belphegor1982 replied to your ask post: Thanks a lot! I must admit I lost the drive to watch the shows a little bit lately, except for LoT (which is crazy awesome). Haven't even watched the last season of Arrow knowing it's the last one ever. Maybe it'll come back. In the meantime, I'll enjoy my dorks - thanks again! :o)
No problem! Yeah, Legends is the only show I'm truly enjoying, but I'm still watching the others. Arrow has a half season left and the series will end with the crossover, and it sounds like the half season will be leading up to the crossover finale. The upcoming crossover sounds like it'll be wild though, so I'm looking forward to it for that reason. It could be a mess because of the huge cast, but it'll probably be an interesting one.
alchemisteevee replied to your ask post: I will say it's best you watch the previous crossover if you plan to watch this years since last years kinda leads into this years
Yes, very true! The end of last year's crossover sets up this one, particularly regarding Oliver Queen.

ianxfalcon replied to your photo post: This looks really interesting! HiC made me lose all interest in Rebirth, but maybe I need to get caught up a little.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I think it's worth being choosy and checking out something if it interests you. HiC was terrible, and I don't have much optimism for the Flash Forward Wally West series (I find Lobdell’s work more miss than hit and he’s inherited a huge mess, though I hope it’ll be good), but thankfully that's not the entirety of the DC line. That said, if you find yourself hating a lot of the books then obviously it's a good idea to cut off the company until they start publishing something you do enjoy...life’s less aggravating that way.
And (spoilers for October Flash comics!) Hunter is returning that month, so you might be interested in that as well.
