Wearing my favorite Americana leggings today in remembrance of Patriot's Day. It's hard to believe that it was 16 years ago today that I was walking through my dorm commons as a brand spanking new college freshman over 700 miles from home and stopped to see what had everyone gathered around the television. Barb was in California visiting my grandparents. My father and brothers were at home in Michigan. I didn't even have a cell phone at the time, just a calling card to make the long distance call home to check in. Even now, years later and after visiting the twin towers site, it seems surreal standing in the commons watching the planes hit and hearing about the heroism of Flight 93.
