seriously though I was probably like. 60-80% thinking we'd get at least one tweel for chapter 10. but I was NOT expecting it so soon! both of 'em! in August! a shame we're not getting a Coral Sea event after all...but I guess I can be resigned to that and ALSO excited for getting shiny sparkly glowing(!!!!) mertwins along with Azul fighting his inner demons and going right for the eyes! Y'ALL. Y'ALL so for a long time I've believed that "the sun" in Meursault's story is Carmen, and I went to check Hell's Chicken's dialogue to see exactly how he said that he'd dealt with distortions before, and... you know what else he said?

To my knowledge, it is a phenomenon where an individual morphs into a form often unfit to be considered “human”. It has no known causes, and the appearances were all different.

Unfit to be considered human.

Meursault, who, in his book, was judged by the court to be soulless.

Meursault, who has EGO for Cyborgs who have been so mutilated they barely act like people anymore; a murderer who was experimented on until ceasing to be human; a sheep named after Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, a novel about the humanity of androids and the inhumanity of humans; and now a rose that can't help its bloodsucking nature, based on Carmilla, a vampire whose story emphasized the duality between her vampiric traits and her human ones.

zeref creating Natsu and messing with life and death gave him Ankhseram's Curse (Idk if that’s exactly spelt right) yet Lucy rewrote the book and made sure Natsu stayed alive and yet also messed with that stuff and there was no (lasting) effects

does she ever think that she might face some sort of consequences because of her messing with that yet at the same time as long as Natsu was alive and existing it wouldn’t matter to her

Lucy also getting the same curse would be so devastating but also really interesting imo

I’m so conflicted because i feel as if there would be no solution to that fate as we saw with zeref and Mavis yet I’d want a happy ending with nalu ;(

also I know i guess it’s different because zeref was the one who actually brought him back and messed more with that stuff yada yada but lucy still did mess with that side of things because Natsu shouldn’t of existed when zeref died yet lucy kinda brought him back and sort of became the author of his existence or something idk

it would be interesting if they went on missions after the war and people were mysteriously passing away randomly somehow at points until it clicks in Lucy one day and once she realises she is GONE

I’ve seen multiple posts about the ibuprofen and Buck’s allergy to naproxen and people thinking they’ve connected the dots, but the thing is

an allergy to naproxen does not inherently mean an allergy or sensitivity to ibuprofen

yes, they’re both NSAIDs but they differ in chemical structures. Allergic reactions to NSAIDs typically occur because of a sensitivity to the drug’s specific structure, so a person may react to one NSAID but tolerate another.

in fact, if someone has a known sensitivity to naproxen, doctors may recommend using a different NSAID like ibuprofen

Tldr: Tommy giving Buck ibuprofen makes perfect sense

Can’t stop thinking about how Vi is slowly turning into the worst version of Vander. The version of Vander that killed a man in front of two grieving children, the version of Vander that tried to drown Silco and almost succeeded, only to be left an angry, bleeding mess in the polluted water between Zaun and Piltover. (Which is totally its own symbolism thing but that’s brainrot for another day)

Just like how Caitlyn, in her path for vengeance, became her mother, a woman she tried to separate herself from in whatever way she could. Just like how Mel will fall victim to the same curses as her mother. Just as how Victor is essentially turning into early Singed. Just like how Jinx is becoming a mix of their mother and Silco (also brainrot for another day), Vi is and will always be her father, it’s something she can’t escape.

Guys, hear me out, again, I hate to be the one saying it, but:

Mohg kidnapping Miquella doesn't even make any fucking sense in hindsight.

Why would MOHG, who has his own confirmed definition of royalty in his dynasty, as an act of rebellion against the system which severely oppressed him, follow the tradition of being the consort to a GOD, for his claim to have legitimacy. Why. It doesn't make any sense for him to suddenly kidnap Miquella, at all.

Honestly, if anyone, it would very likely be Mohg who couldn't give less of a fuck about how his lordship will take place, as long as it does. Bro is extremely sure of his power and abilities, why, why, why would he share the belief a God is neccessary to achieve his goal???

This mf is all about rebellion in oppose to Morgott, on a philosophical level it would be super hypocritical to enable a new status quo by trying to achieve lordship through the current tradition. I mean, maybe that is the point if you still want to interpret him as an 'evil creep' but I personally think, that way, some things fit the narrative even better:

We know that there already was an established system via Ansbach, before the Miquella drama, so why on earth would Mohg, who considers his Pureblood Knights Royalty and creates his own nobles by sharing his blood, follow this atrocious tradition??

That way Ansbach's dying line, would also make a lot more sense. He hopes that the lordship which the Tarnished is trying to achieve, would follow more akin to what Mohg was probably trying to do, becoming a lord for men, not for the gods.

(And also for himself, I still think it was some kind of coping mechanism for Mohg to achieve lordship, so it was a mix out of the psychological need to get power, in order for it to be less likely to be controlled again (tragically ironic, really) and a big middle finger to what the Golden Order did to him.)

Mohg's dynasty used to be centred around having his blood shared. It didn't matter where you come from or what heritage you carry on your back. If you carry around his blood in your veins, you're part of the family.

I guess when Mohg was being enchanted by Miquella, his mindset shifted and suddenly, he became obsessed with creating this whole Formless-Mother vessel-thing. (Which in itself even sounds silly, like how to you push a goddess which is considered formless into a flesh vessel? It would seem fairly counterproductive but that is just some literal interpretation, also considering all the New Formless Mother lore we encountered in the DLC. )

That's when Ansbach – knowing his lord's usual mindset and ambition – probably noticed something is off and fairly easily figured out that Miquella was fucking with Mohg's mind. Hence why he tried to challenge him and lost. Mohg was more important to Miquella's plans than the other way around and opposed a threat to the order Miquella was trying to create. So why did he coccon himself? My guess is that he needed a gateway to the Lands of Shadow + a way to get rid of his golden flesh to escape the influence of the Greater Will. And being supposedly kidnapped, nobody would ever suspect him being behind all of this and annihilating Mohg as a possible, popular competitor to his goals, which was, as we see, extremely effective.

I figure if I keep speculating the relationship hurdle, sooner or later I’ll be right… so here’s one:

Buck is looking at photo albums at Tommy’s place and something drops out of the back. When he picks it up he finds it’s a high school diploma, but it’s from a youth correctional facility. Tommy didn’t know that was in there, but Buck has questions and Tommy isn’t one to shy away from his past.

He tells Buck about how he went to juvie at 14, after trying to be initiated into a gang. He was a lonely kid who wanted to belong somewhere. He grew up in a bad neighborhood and he’d see this gang all the time, always together and laughing and they seemed free. They noticed him, said all he had to do was choose someone on the street one night and beat them up. Then he’d be in. He’d have brothers for life. It was him and two other kids getting initiated that night. He was scared, but not scared enough to not do it, so they picked a person and did what they were told to do.

Then the cops showed up. The others ran, but Tommy froze. He went to juvie. Turns out the guy they targeted was gay and, even though Tommy had no idea about that, he was charged with a hate crime. He went to a youth correctional facility until he was 17. He graduated there, got out early for good behavior, went on to join the army after that.

Buck spirals there. He’s very familiar with hurting himself for attention, but couldn’t imagine ever purposely harming anyone else. Even as a kid. Tommy tries to explain some things to him but Buck just kinda up and leaves.

He goes to Bobby about it, goes to Maddie and Josh. Bobby reminds him who he was before he became captain- hell, even while he was captain. Reminds Buck people are capable of change. Capable of becoming better. Buck himself is even proof of that, albeit in a different way. He is still a better person than he used to be. Josh leans more toward talking to Buck about the loneliness and fear of being lgbt, especially back all those years ago. Desperate for love and attention from anyone and everyone, especially if you grew up in a bad household. It’s not an excuse, but people aren’t perfect… especially when they’re 14 years old.

Buck ends up going back to Tommy’s place, still unsure of what to say or think. Tommy asks if he can tell him one thing, and Buck says sure. Tommy tells him how he found the guy he hurt after he got out of the army. Apologized to him, which the man accepted. They ended up becoming pretty close. He helped Tommy over the years, and ended up being the first person Tommy came out to. They still talk to this day.

Tommy forgives himself of his past, but he also never expects anyone else to forgive him. He understands if Buck can’t.

Buck does.

This day still terrifies me. To my core. With the strange weather that happened before, I expected something to occur. I could have never predicted the magnitude of that event. (audio starts 10s in) i've been casually collecting some cd singles mostly for the artwork and the novelty of it all tbh, but i got this and never knew there was a "guitars down" version of sugar :0 upon listening it seems the biggest differences with this vs the album version are:

the instrumentals/sustained controlled feedback that usually plays behind the prechoruses is also used between the chorus and the 2nd verse, over the normal chuggy riff

the backing vocal harmonies in the chorus seem to be significantly brought forward which sounds STUNNING, easily the highlight of this version

Hey, Jake & Jack fans, is this anything?

Both men imprisoned (literal & metaphorical).

Both offered an out from their current predicament by an outside force (arguably in the case of Brain Ghost Dirk).

Both have loose ties to Lord English visually.

Yellow initial glow & Gamzee involvement too.

Sometimes a guy just needs to explode (same pose too).

Both dual wielding weapons.

That same said weapon type (for Jack Noir) having killed Jane Crocker.

It's really looking like Jake is going to do her in.

I would also like to point out that we've had interactions involving these three (Jane, Jake, and Brain Ghost Dirk) before that consisted of similar topics & themes.

Brain Ghost Dirk implying that he's just there as moral support, a manifestation of Jake's powers, and as a coping mechanism. Jane also talking about ruling an empire with him while talking down to him, similar to how she saw and/or still sees him in Beyond Canon's Candy timeline. Jake also being uncertain about doing anything to harm her despite all the bad things she's doing.

Brain Ghost Dirk going away tells us that Jake's more hopeful than he's ever been. This is the moment where he is the most sure of his decisions than he's ever been in his life, whatever those decisions may be in regards to Jane and how to handle this situation.

He is probably going to shoot Jane down, quite literally. I would also argue that after all this time, the lad isn't beating the Lord English allegations. We might as well have a parallel of him killing Jane much like how Jack Noir killed her right before he got possessed by Lil Cal & given some of Lord English's immense power.

Alternatively maybe we'll get to see what the power of hope or hope bullets can do to someone whose done so much wrong & come so far off the deep end in terms of moral wrongdoings. Maybe with every shot that hits her, she'll begin to be swayed to the side of good & start to self-reflect.

I'm still not fully convinced that Gamzee actually cured Tavros' peanut allergy, I mean just look at the panel.

This could absolutely be interpreted as Jake injecting his hope power into the epipen and by proxy injecting both his power & the epipen into his son! If younger Jake is strong enough to defeat Grimbark Jade, then adult Jake might just be strong enough to defeat a peanut allergy is all I'm saying! In fact, now that I'm rambling about it, this seems like the more likely outcome is Jake's hope power swaying or (in the very least) confusing Jane mid-fight. Hope bullets, they would look cool & would be pretty strong!

The power of believing in others & wanting things to change can be a strong tool indeed, Mister English.

If there's one person who still believes in changing Jane's mind (or bringing her back to proper canonicity depending on how you interpret the recent lore), it would be Jake English, the believer.
