    "    𝖊𝖝𝖕𝖑𝖆𝖎𝖓  𝖘𝖔𝖒𝖊𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖓'  𝖙𝖔  𝖒𝖊,    "   duncan  started,  looking  over  at  the  cute  new  girl  with  the  curly  hair  and  the  big  beautiful  eyes.    she  really  was  cute,  with  a  smile  that  had  caught  his  eye  straight  away,   "   you  watched  us  all  make  an  absolute  fool  of  ourselves  on  that  island  and  figured  ' oh  i  gotta  get  on  that  show ',    "   he  continued,  trying  to  stay  focused  on  the  challenge  at  hand,  all  they  had  to  do  was  find  the  trailers  and  avoid  the  monster,  but  he  couldn't  resist  the  temptation  to  learn  more  about  the  new  girl,   "   i  guess  my  question  is   -   why?    "   duncan  asked,  knowing  the  reason  he  was  still  in  this  was  because  it  helped  keep  him  out  of    𝖙𝖗𝖔𝖚𝖇𝖑𝖊   and  he  knew  that  if  he  stayed  focused  this  time  around,  he  might  actually  have  a  chance  to  win  this  whole  thing.   then  he  would  tell  chris  to  stuff  it  and  do  whatever  he  wants.   maybe  he  also  just  wants  to    𝖕𝖗𝖔𝖛𝖊   to  himself  and  his  family  that  he  can  actually  do  something  right,   "   did  you  lose  a  bet  or  somethin'?    "

    𝖔𝖍  𝖎𝖙  𝖜𝖆𝖘  𝖏𝖚𝖘𝖙  𝖙𝖔𝖔  𝖒𝖚𝖈𝖍  𝖋𝖚𝖓  𝖙𝖔  𝖜𝖎𝖓𝖉  𝖍𝖊𝖗  𝖚𝖕.   she  made  it  so  easy  too,  the  way  she  would  just  react  to  him  and  it  just  spurred  him  on  even  more.   duncan  liked  having  courtney's  attention,  it  didn't  matter  if  she  was  yelling  at  him  or  calling  him  all  sorts  of  names,  she  was  focused  on  him  and  it  just  made  him  feel  alive  in  a  way.   oh,  he  was  going  to  get  himself  in  more  trouble  if  he  kept  pushing  her,  but  fuck,  it  was  just  too  much  fun.   plus  she  was  kinda  cute  when  she  got  angry.   and  by  kinda  cute,  he  meant  hot  as  hell.   the  way  she  looked  at  him  with  those  big  brown  eyes  and  he  just  couldn't  help  but  get  caught  up  in  them.   the  way  her  hand  trembled  when  she  got  super  angry.   the  way  she  got  a  little  pink  in  the  face  as  she  got  fired  up.   she  was  just    𝖎𝖓𝖈𝖗𝖊𝖉𝖎𝖇𝖑𝖊   in  a  way  that  other  girls  weren't  and  he  couldn't  just  ignore  her,  or  act  like  she  wasn't  having  some  kind  of  effect  on  him.

    𝖍𝖊  𝖈𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖉𝖓'𝖙  𝖇𝖚𝖙  𝖘𝖒𝖎𝖗𝖐  𝖘𝖔𝖋𝖙𝖑𝖞  𝖆𝖘  𝖍𝖎𝖘  𝖍𝖆𝖓𝖉  𝖒𝖔𝖛𝖊𝖉  𝖙𝖔  𝖕𝖗𝖊𝖘𝖘  𝖆𝖌𝖆𝖎𝖓𝖘𝖙  𝖍𝖎𝖘  𝖑𝖎𝖕𝖘,   blowing  a  kiss  in  her  direction  and  he  already  knows  he's  set  off  before  he's  moving  from  where  he's  sat  to  go  and  slide  in  beside  her,   "   good  mornin'  princess,  you're  lookin'  especially  radiant  today,    "   flirting  was  the    ��𝖊𝖘𝖙   way  to  push  her  buttons  because  she  always  reacted  so  fiery  to  him.   was  it  completely  fair?   no.   he  knew  how  to  take  no  for  an  answer,  but  she  never  actually  said  no.   she  would  just  call  him  names  and  roll  her  eyes,  but  never  did  she  actually  tell  him  no,   "   did  you  sleep  well?   i  had  the  most  amazin'  dream  about  you,    "

    𝖍𝖊 𝖉𝖎𝖉𝖓'𝖙 𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖑𝖎𝖘𝖊 𝖍𝖊 𝖈𝖆𝖗𝖊𝖉 𝖘𝖔 𝖒𝖚𝖈𝖍,    he didn't think he even cared so much and yet here he was, pissed at himself for losing against miguel diaz.    which should've been expected, he was the champion.    but he was also the kid that had a broken back not too long ago, so yeah, he was pissed at himself.    he was bigger and stronger, he should've won that fight and he didn't.    when he was calmer and the adrenaline was no longer running high, he would be able to focus on the fact that miguel had more skill and had been training longer than him.    but right now, he was just pissed that sam's ex boyfriend had absolutely kicked his ass in front of her.    fuck this.    leaning against the wall of the corridor outside of the hall, knowing he should get back inside and support his team, he didn't want to miss sam's next fight either.    he didn't even hear her approaching till he felt her hand on his arm, his breathing already calming at her touch,    "    please tell me i didn't suck as much as i feel like i did,    "    duncan says softly, needing some reassurance because there was no way he would be getting from either of his sensei's.    looking at her, he tried to smile and felt like it must looked forced,    "    i'll be fine.    i'm not gonna miss a chance to watch you fight,    "

    𝖙𝖍𝖊  𝖘𝖒𝖆𝖗𝖙  𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖓𝖌  𝖙𝖔  𝖉𝖔  𝖜𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖉  𝖇𝖊  𝖙𝖔  𝖉𝖔  𝖘𝖔𝖒𝖊  𝖗𝖊𝖘𝖊𝖆𝖗𝖈𝖍  𝖔𝖓  𝖎𝖒𝖕𝖗𝖎𝖓𝖙𝖘,   but  when  did  duncan  ever  do  the  smart  thing?   never.   the  most  he  might  do  is  talk  to  some  people  who  he  knew  had  already  imprinted,  which  he  was  careful  about  who  he  was  going  to  talk  to,  mostly  to  avoid  people  ripping  the  hell  out  of  him  considering  his  little    𝖕𝖆𝖓𝖎𝖈   about  the  idea  of  imprinting.   but  the  little  that  he  did  know  is  what  incredibly  obvious  to  him  that  he  had  imprinted  on  march  and  he  wasn't  going  to  keep  trying  to  run  from  it  because  if  he  was  honest, there  is  no  one  else  he  would  want  to  be  imprinted  to.   should  he  do  some  research?   maybe.   did  he  want  to?   a  little.   but  he  didn't  feel  as  panicked  about  it  anymore,  he  didn't  know  exactly  what  it  meant  for  the    𝖙𝖜𝖔  𝖔𝖋  𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖒   ,  he  just  knew  that  it  was  something  extremely  powerful  that  he  may  never  understand.

    𝖉𝖚𝖓𝖈𝖆𝖓  𝖆𝖑𝖒𝖔𝖘𝖙  𝖜𝖎𝖘𝖍𝖊𝖉  𝖍𝖊  𝖈𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖉  𝖙𝖆𝖑𝖐  𝖙𝖔  𝖍𝖎𝖘  𝖒𝖔𝖒  𝖆𝖇𝖔𝖚𝖙  𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖘,   she  always  told  him  that  she  hoped  that  he  would  find  the  person  he  was  imprinted  to  because  she  always  spoke  so    𝖍𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖑𝖞   about  what  an  incredibly  feeling  it  would  be.   even  if  he  thought  his  dad  was  the  biggest  asshole  in  the  world,  she  would  never  stop  talking  about  how  finding  your  imprint  was  something  that  all  wolves  should  do.   maybe  because  of  how  horrible  he  thought  his  dad  was,  it  was  why  he  was  scared  of  the  imprint.   what  if  he  got  stuck  with  someone  terrible?   or  worse,  being  imprinted  to  someone  turned  him  into  an  asshole.   but  that  wasn't  going  to  happen.   he  was  imprinted  to  the  most    𝖆𝖉𝖔𝖗𝖆𝖇𝖑𝖊   person  he  had  ever  met.   march  was  cute  and  sweet,  hot  as  fuck,  funny  and  sassy.   she  was  everything  to  him  and  he  felt  like  the  luckiest  wolf  on  the  planet.

    "    𝖍𝖊𝖞  𝖈𝖚𝖙𝖎𝖊,  𝖍𝖔𝖜  𝖆𝖗𝖊  𝖞𝖔𝖚?    𝖉𝖎𝖉  𝖞𝖆  𝖒𝖎𝖘𝖘  𝖒𝖊?    "    duncan  asked  with  a  playful  tone  as  he  leaned  down  to  press  a  kiss  to  her  cheek  before  straddling  the  seat  of  the  bench  beside  her,  arm  wrapping  loosely  round  her  waist,  his  other  hand  resting  on  her  leg,    "    look  at  us  bein'  all  mature  and  shit  by  actually  goin'  to  class,    "    he  teased,  knowing  that  with  everything  that  had  been  going  on  with  all  the  hunters  and  the  tension,  it  was  about  time  for  things  to  slowly  start  to  feel    𝖓𝖔𝖗𝖒𝖆𝖑    again,  which  meant  going  to  class  and  actually  trying  to  feel  like  things  were  how  they  used  to  be,    "    so  now  that  class  is  over,  how  nicely  do  i  have  to  ask  to  get  you  to  come  back  to  my  room  to  makeout?    "

    "    𝖙𝖍𝖊𝖞'𝖗𝖊  𝖋𝖎𝖑𝖒𝖎𝖓'  𝖙𝖍𝖊  𝖓𝖊𝖜  𝖘𝖊𝖆𝖘𝖔𝖓  𝖗𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙  𝖓𝖔𝖜,    "   duncan  admitted,  fingers  moving  over  the  string  of  his  guitar  as  he  played  out  a  random  melody  trying  to  see  if  it  would  fit  for  the  song.   he  glanced  over  at  lavender  for  a  moment,  trying  not  to  stare  too  much  because  she  truly  was    𝖇𝖊𝖆𝖚𝖙𝖎𝖋𝖚𝖑   in  a  way  that  made  him  breathless  to  look  at  her  too  much.   he  still  couldn't  believe  how  lucky  he  was  to  get  to  work  with  her,  it  was  like  one  of  the  biggest  breaks  his  band  could  hope  for  and  the  fact  she  seemed  just  as  excited  to  work  with  them  too  made  it  all  the  more  exciting.   he  still  couldn't  believe  his  moron  of  a  manager  had  managed  to  pull  this  off.   duncan  shook  his  head,  looking  back  down  at  the  guitar  in  his  hands,   "   i  should  be  there  but  i  quit.   i  couldn't  take  it  anymore  and  i'm  not  usually  someone  who  gives  up,    "   why  was  he  being  so    𝖍𝖔𝖓𝖊𝖘𝖙    with  her?   he  couldn't  remember  the  last  time  he  felt  like  he  could  be  this  honest  with  someone,  especially  someone  he  hadn't  really  known  that  long.   maybe  it  was  because  he  knew  she  didn't  really  know  him,  so  he  could  be  honest  with  her  about  things  that  he  couldn't  talk  about  with  others.

    𝖒𝖆𝖞𝖇𝖊  𝖍𝖊  𝖘𝖍𝖔𝖚𝖑𝖉  𝖘𝖙𝖔𝖕  𝖙𝖆𝖑𝖐𝖎𝖓𝖌  𝖆𝖇𝖔𝖚𝖙  𝖙𝖔𝖙𝖆𝖑  𝖉𝖗𝖆𝖒𝖆,   it  would  open  up  questions  about  people  that  he  didn't  want  to  talk  about  right  now.   he  liked  having  this  distance  from  all  the  fucked  up  things  that  happened.   to  put  things  into  music  that  he  hadn't  really  been  able  to  talk  about.   but  she  was  so  easy  to  talk  to  and  he  liked  this  time  he  got  to  spend  with  her.   duncan  couldn't  remember  the  last  time  he  had    𝖈𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖊𝖈𝖙𝖊𝖉   with  someone  so  quickly  and  strongly  in  a  way  that  he  had  with  lavender.   but  he  was  trying  not  to  think  about  it  too  much.   especially  since  he  didn't  know  if  it  was  just  something  he  was  feeling  or  whether  it  was  something  that  was    𝖗𝖊𝖆𝖑    between  them.   running  his  hand  through  green  strands  of  hair  as  he  looks  back  up  at  her,  taking  a  pause  on  trying  to  figure  out  melodies  for  her  part  of  the  song,   "   i  shouldn't  have  even  gone  back.   a  lot  of  fucked  up  things  happened  since  i  won  and  i   .   .   .   haven't  really  dealt  with  it,    "   stop  talking  now.   she  doens't  need  to  hear  about  the  dramatic  story  of  duncan  and  courtney,  with  just  how    𝖒𝖊𝖘𝖘𝖊𝖉  𝖚𝖕   things  had  gotten  between  them  in  the  past  year.   shaking  his  head,  tongue  flicking  over  his  lip  as  he  looked  away  from  her  for  a  moment,   "   i  swear  i'm  not  usually  this  much  of  a  ramblin'  mess,    "   duncan  smiled,  laughing  softly  as  he  leaned  over  to  grab  his  drink,  thank  god  for  england's  drinking  age  of  eighteen  years  old,  taking  a  long  drink  of  it  before  moving  his  guitar  aside  and  standing  up,  moving  around  the  room  as  he  tried  to  not  just  unleash  the  total  shitshow  that  felt  like  his  life  for  the  past  year,   "   fuck  it.   i  would  totally  understand  if  you  chose  not  to  work  with  us  now  that  you  see  what  a  fuck  up  i  am,    "   ahhh  yes,  the  classic  case  of  pushing  people  away  before  they  can  hurt  him.   which  was  insane  because  lavender  hadn't  even  proven  that  she  was  going  to  do  anything  like  that.   maybe  he  was  just  a  little  mistrusting  right  now  because  no  one  else  seemed  to  be  able  to    𝖙𝖗𝖚𝖘𝖙    him  to  do  anything,   "   should  i  just  stop  talkin'  right  now?    "
