— pencil skirts. pencil skirts? pencil skirts. uhhh did i mention pencil skirts? and nylon tights. absolutely nylon tights.

— while she's all sexy in nylon tights and pencil skirts she wears from time to time she almost always has to wear pants because there's never been a day her foot did not meet someone's face. you get it.

— twenty two step hair routine. no less. she adores it and cares for it like one would care for their child.

— addressing her hair, i kinda don't think she keeps it longer than past her chest. even if she would like it longer, i think she'd just get irritated about it getting in her way when fighting. also braids it when she's bored and wants it out of the way.

— spends, like, from thirty to two hours in the shower every single day. morning showers? sure, no less than thirty minutes. evening showers? starting at an hour. showers after missions? a minimum of two hours. gotta simmer herself in boiling-hot water with all these shower gels and oils and scrubs after.

— scarred hands and fingers under her gloves, but even if they're scarred they're so pretty. long and thin with occasional nicks and marks here and there, as well as really good nail shape.

— also sometimes does her nails a wine red color (most of the times kouyou does them with a bit of chitter chatter and a lot of tea spilled (she's there for the tea more than for the nails honestly)) but only occasionally because she likes them long and it's not very comfortable with the gloves on.

— manspreads every time she seats beside a man when wearing pants.

— i don't know much about perfumes (literally nothing), but maybe Biblioteque's Memoris of Geisha, Penhaligon's Portraits The Bewitching Yasmine and Storie Veneziane's Rosso?

— on top of all, coffee scented perfume or not, she always smells like coffee and wine, and that is a truly rich rich combination. it's like she bathes purely in wine and coffee beans, and these really don't contradict each other somehow because she always makes it work.

— listens to music so loudly in her penthouse that if she had neighbours they'd file complaints weekly. even if she'd receive them, she'd push a middle finger into their faces and slam the door shut to get back to some loud ass rock echoing off the walls.

— i'm very much battling between these pyjamas and this nightwear. i think she takes turns wearing them based on her mood.

— kouyou has her have a monthly look over / presentation for clothes she bought during that month. it goes with dialogues like

"heels do suit you well, you know."

"yeah, sure they do. it's much easier to punch a hole through someone's face after all."

kouyou's also pretty sure chuuya'd beat all these models even in a single piece of clothing; and she looks so proud while watching her present all these branded clothes, an overcoat three times more expensive than someone's yearly pay.

— she has men swoon at her feet when she's out for a drink, basically shaking while trying to court her somehow, and then bursting into tears at the single, bored glance she casts them for the first time since their measly attempts at not stuttering through a flirty line started because they get there's literally no chance for them with someone like her. a single glance is enough.

Katniss is such an unreliable narrator. She says "Then something unexpected happens. At least, I don't expect it because I don't think of District 12 as a place that cares about me" girl you deliver strawberries to the Mayor, you hunt and trade for the district, when you fell at Prim being chosen someone caught you, when you went to Prim people parted for you, when you volunteered EVERYONE stopped. Idk how to tell you but I think you're a pillar of the community.

I wish we had more female characters like Eleanor Shellstrop. One of the most unlikable people you've ever met. Read a Buzzfeed article on most rude things you can do on a daily basis and decided to use that as a list of goals. Makes everyone's day worse just by being there. Dropped a margarita mix on the ground and tried to pick it up, only to get hit by a row of shopping carts which pushed her into the road where she was hit by a boner pill delivery truck, killing her instantly. Cannot keep a romantic partner despite being bisexual. Had a terrible childhood but will die before she gets therapy. Best employee at a scam company. Just the worst but also can't help but root for her to improve.

Absolute loser. Girl-failure. Bad at almost everything. Literally perfect female character.

im sorry but i cannot stop thinking about isha's pastel memories that play during her sacrifice scene.

look at how full of colour this beautiful fuckin shot is:

it's been well established in episodes 4-6 how grim and dark the undercity has become under cait and ambessa's new rule. but look at how isha sees/remembers it - because of jinx.

jinx, who went through a severe childhood trauma that has carried over into her present self - she covers extremely destructive weapons and grenades in bright pinks and blues, neons, childlike doodles, graffiti. (joy and destruction, powder and jinx, a contrast so striking it becomes like a signature for her).

and then we see the world through isha's eyes. when we meet her in episode 2, she's running through sewers, from goons dressed in black; it's grimy and grim. and then all of her recent memories are done in these childlike pastel, almost crayon-y sketches. because what isha saw was jinx covering a dark and grim world in colours.

and so isha covered her world in colour, too.

because jinx made her world bright.

isha looked at jinx and saw the child in her. she saw powder and she saw jinx. she saw joy and destruction. and that's why jinx gave isha so much hope. isha knew the world was grim and dark - but then she watched jinx, and she learned that you can paint over all that grim darkness with neon blue spray paint.

that's why isha believed in hope. that's why in her final moments - in a scene that is lit dimly and dramatically - she sees nothing but a bright world coloured in pastels.

never underestimate the hope of a child.

So, I really love the selection of Tim Walz for VP and it’s taken me a moment to articulate why. I mean, obviously, Dem bonafides, he’s sharp, he’s funny, etc etc. But everyone in the Veepstakes fits that bill, Harris was spoiled for good choices.

But Walz offers something that the other men in contention don’t that I think will be incredibly useful in combating Trumpism.

He offers an example and an off ramp to the section of men who felt like they were Republicans by default, and so support Trump by default. There are a lot of Trump voters who are full on obsessive, but that’s not who we’re talking to. We’re talking to folks who grew up in Republican areas, or felt their hobbies didn’t line up with who a Democrat was, or didn’t feel represented by their image of a Democrat. You want to see it so you can be it, you know? Which is why Harris is so inspirational to a lot of segments of folks, but Walz is too.

He served in the military. He went to a state college. He’s your favorite teacher from your public high school. He’s your football coach who actually cared if you were passing your math class. He’s the guy you looked up to at school when your family sucked but this guy cared, and he helped you get out and make something of yourself.

He’s the neighbor who helps you jump your car. He’s your uncle who takes you hunting. He’s your Dad who loves teasing you at the Stare Fair. He’s you when he makes a mistake like his DUI and takes responsibility for it, and when he has the chance makes sure other can come back from similar mistakes. He’s you when you and your wife want so badly to be parents and IVF gives you the family you wanted. He’s you when he says ‘it had to be me’ and used his standing and power to protect vulnerable kids sponsoring the GSA at his school.

He gives the real life example to these men that they can be that football, fishing, hunting family man who wants to provide for his family, be that powerful, respected member of the community and use that power to feed kids in school. That it’s normal to enthusiastically work for a boss like Harris. That yeah those other guys are fucking weirdos, and you’re not a weirdo, are you?

That there’s a place in the Democratic Party for them. That they don’t have to default to being fucking weird.

I hope those guys see this example of masculinity and go… yeah, that’s me. That’s who I’m gonna be.

Big fan of sun motifs in characters not necessarily being about positivity and happiness and how they're so " bright and warm" but instead being about fucking brutal they are.

Radiant. A FORCE of nature that will turn you to ash. That warmth that burns so hot it feels like ice. Piercing yellow and red and white. A character being a Sun because you cannot challenge a Sun without burning alive or taking everything down with them if victorious.
