I finally finished watching The Untamed few weeks ago, but I'm only writing about it now. You have to know, I never really cared about this series before and I didn't really want to watch it either. It's not because I thought it would be bad or boring. I had no good reason than it was from 2019 and I didn't watch it at the time it was released and I thought it wouldn't really matter if I never watched it. After all there are so many series and you can't really watch all of them. In a nutshell, I had no good reasons to watch it, but it worked for me.

That was my feelings until I watched Meet You At The Blossom and reblogged a lot of gifs from the series. Of course, at one point, I had to see comparisons made with scenes from the Untamed and it kinda made me intrigued. I wanted to understand, but at the same time I was thinking that I had already too much series to watch. However, the more I saw gifs and references, the more I wanted to see what was the big deal with The Untamed. I mean there must be a reason why so many people like it. I don't like to be left in the dark. I want to know too!

It was until someone from my group of friend gifted me the beautiful hardcover book of the first volume (apparently they are super hard to find at a reasonable price now, which is why I just have the first one). My friends know me better than myself. Now, I had this beautiful book to remind me that I didn't watch the series and that it may be a great idea to do it. Anyway, a month ago, I was in a pretty bad state of mind and I needed something to comfort me, something like an escape. The book was in front of me, but reading wasn't something I wanted to do (my mind was too numb), so I decided to settle for the series.

That's how I watched the series and wow I didn't expect to like it. You know, it was because I've been warned… censorship happened and things were changed from the book. That's why I'm glad I watch the series before reading the book because I think I wouldn't have like it the same way. Back to the series, despite the changes, I can understand why so many people rave about it. It's interesting, the characters are compelling and the acting is good. I think the only thing I didn't quite get was the music. I fully expected to love it, but the magic didn't work on me.

It was just the perfect series to let me get away from reality. I feel in love with many characters and there are so many scenes you can't forget. The relationship between the characters are really strong and make quite an impression on me. I really like the idea that musical instruments could be used as a cultivation tools. There are other details too, but I can't enumerate all of them. In a way, without the book and Meet You at The Blossom (also Tumblr), I would never have tried the series. It's funny because I had the same feeling when I watched Sotus. It was a series I thought I would never watch, but it turns out that it became some of my comfort series.

According to the adage, a wise man changes his mind sometimes, a fool never. That's my story with the Untamed.

my first jake movie had to be prince of persia although i have no memory of watching it as a kid. i just know i did because my dad played the video game and this sounds like a movie he'd watch too. when prisoners came out on dvd in 2013, i asked my parents to rent the movie because i liked hugh jackman as wolverine. if wolverine is funny, that means prisoners will be funny too, right? WRONG. i was so wrong. i spent almost the entire movie hidden under a blanket, i remember the stares my parents gave me. i was so embarrassed. but i also remember that one good looking man on the screen, wink wink (or well, blink blink) the only jake movies i watched after that were love & other drugs and brokeback mountain. both made me cry, so i loved them. i would stay up late (back in the day when i thought midnight was late) and watch them on television. other than that, my life used to be a sad dark lonely gyllenvoid.

ah, the glorious day when i saw the poster for spider-man far from home. i took a photo, i made sure to crop the guy with the cape, i didn't care for him. pff. i wanted spider-man! i kept telling myself that there was this one dude in the trailer that reminded me of someone, but i couldn't replace him. until i connected the dots!!! that hello quentin / yeah hi honey scene had me shaking in my seat. i came home, i tried googling his name in five different spellings until i got it right. i asked a friend at the time if she knew about jake because i had this new crush on him and she was like "this crush isn't new, you just forgot he existed" (i was juggling with other famous hot men who are double my age, i was busy). so apparently i was into him and i didn't even know about it! anyway! i started looking through jake's tag for gifs and photos, then for fics, then i thought it'd be nice to make a blog to appreciate and reblog the fics (this is when i became a fan of nat and maria from afar! and now they're my friends and i love them so much). a few months after that, i was like sure why not maybe i can write my own stories too. i made this blog at the end of 2019 and here i am, five years later!!! my obsession for jake is stronger than ever.

i stuck to mysterio and jake fics for a while, his filmography was intimidating and it lacked in barbie movies so i was not THAT motivated to get through it at first. i kept an eye on movies that played on television for something he could be in and i found one: enemy. i know jake recently suggested enemy as one of the first movies of his to start with but i could not disagree more. the spiders? yeah no. enemy was my enemy. i saw that it played on a different channel, in english this time, so i gave it a shot. i was intrigued... i went to his wikipedia page and picked one of the shortest movies in his register: demolition. i've said it before and i'll say it again, i loved demolition so much that i watched it twice in the same evening. demolition is the movie that got me hooked. i couldn't understand how underrated it used to be, people barely brought it up! it almost made me forget the spider debacle of enemy, i just wanted to see more of jake.

i'm almost through with his entire filmography now! it's taken me a long time, but i'm proud of myself for watching so many movies that are out of my usual taste. it made me discover so many sides of jake's talent and so many characters that live rent free in my mind. if i could go back in time, i would still choose demolition as the great leap into the jake gyllenhaal multiverse. you didn't ask for all this rambling but shhhh details. i'm curious to know your answer to this question too!!! thank you again, anon! 💖💖💖

aaaand... adding even more to this post since some of it is a follow-up on the above, I want to keep it on the same post.

so after making the above post, @happilyfeatherafter reminded me that some of the times i remembered misha talking about returning to set were from a livestream and community texts, not from twitter.

in the livestream with michael sheen from 30 july 2020, he talks about taking cas' coat from set bc he wasn't sure if they'd be going back (gif set here) [disclaimer that i've only skipped around through that livestream and not watched it start to finish in its entirety.]

also, the 15x20 script was way sketchier than i remembered and @lets-steal-an-archive made a post about it back when it was being auctioned about why they wouldn't be bidding on it that goes into more detail. and yeah. with the additional context (and some x files script pics they sent for comparison), that script is super sketchy. i'm not about to waste the printer ink to sit down with a copy and do a read-along with an 11th watch of the finale, but it doesn't inspire confidence no matter how close it is to the final product.

also, the seller had the benefit of listing it post-finale airing but two months prior to the s15 DVD releasing with deleted scenes so... idk. this is super outside my wheelhouse so i won't spec further. the script is just really sketchily sourced and iirc the bidder got a refund since the seller then offered PDF scan versions for very cheap to others who asked... none of which inspires confidence.

further shenanigans from the past few days' life ruining research! not calling any of this a smoking gun, but based on the tumblr source time stamps; it looks like misha sent out the below pics as community texts post-finale but the pics themselves were taken during 15x18 filming - if anyone has the actual time stamps i'd love to know! even after half a day of searching, i couldn't find versions with a time stamp on them. in both cases, they seem to indicate that he knew this was his last day or last episode filming for the show. (he's also mentioned that they threw him a good bye party after 15x18 and idk why you'd do that if you intended for the actor to come back.)

whenever misha has talked about being in the finale, it's been in reference to an "original" pre-COVID version of the script where he would be jimmy novak and not cas. but given that 15x18 wrapped before shutdown, my guess is that it had already been settled that he wouldn't be in the finale. so yes this would have been a "pre-COVID" script, but probably not the prod draft script from march 2020.

(and having spoken with ppl who were already in the fandom when s15 started airing/looking at posts from fall 2020/pre-15x18... a good chunk of ppl didn't expect misha to be in the last two eps when it started airing again)

i would also like to note that when talking about "pre-COVID" scripts from s15... that could be anywhere from may/june 2019 to march 2020 when set shut down, which @swordofsun and I went back and forth on a bit discussing here wrt revisions of 15x20.

and i'm loathe to bring it up without a source, but i know there was something floating around about misha(?) saying in a m&g at the las vegas con in march 2020 that the finale script was still going through a lot of revisions. so at that point, a kinda short window before they returned to set to finish 15x19 and 15x20. iirc there was a tweet about it that has since been deleted but i tend to take m&g stuff with a grain of salt.

point being - the 15x20 script is way sketchier than i remembered and there's more actual evidence that misha wasn't intended to be in the finale from before set shut down (and the "misha filmed but was cut" conspiracy continues to be my personal bugbear)

i don't want to further clutter up the notes on this post while responding to the tags below but the persistence of the "finale is short/scenes are missing/extra ad break” conspiracies drives me absolutely bananas when i've watched the finale ten times and have posted about this A LOT trying to clear things up. (disclaimer that yes, i'm a goddamn destiel shipper but i care about Facts above all.)

ok but this is weird because i'd swear the episode was shorter (11 missing scenes!) but okay. maybe we all mandela effected ourselves into #beleving that. because it felt shorter. but i will die on the hill that it had another ad break. i understand this person has the thing #recorded with ads so i am thinking maybe different ad breaks in different idk time zones??? #because the finale did air an hour earlier in canada so maybe idk i am reaching here but maybe different states or whatever had different #ad breaks??? as for the last minute changes - wasn't the cover band asked for permission to use their version of carry on like a week before #the thing aired??? so even if the episode was 42 minutes and had no additional ad break - which i am side eying but lets say all was normal #i will always say they were changing thing until the absolute last minute (carry on my wayward son X 2 #the crew on the bridge which is not only giant 4th wall breaking but also wow they really got all those people in one place in times of #covid???) #anyway. tinfoil hat stays on sorry guys :/ (via @officialmisha)

short and snarky: there are plenty of real and sourced examples of network homophobia and scripted/directed destiel scenes being cut to point to. we don’t need to make this stuff up just bc the finale wasn’t what we wanted. so it’s not the mandela effect — it’s ppl repeating a conspiracy/rumor bc it supports their narrative and it’s easier and more fun to repeat something that supports a narrative they already believe (misha or something destiel was cut) vs the boring act of fact checking.

like i said. i've watched the finale ten times. i’ve gone over the episode with a fine toothed comb and posted a detailed breakdown of timing marks on my blog. it’s actually extremely obvious where the ad breaks are once you know roughly where to look for them (they have a longer fade to black instead of a quick cut scene change). there’s no room for extra ad breaks and i think this conspiracy/rumor persists in part bc the episode feels so sparse in terms of cast and the fact that the episode’s momentum hits a barn post (and rebar) less than 20min into an hour-long programming block.

also i’m begging ppl to actually look at that timing mark post. it’s very straightforward and i spent a lot of time on it. i don’t care if ppl plagiarize it at this point if it means this conspiracy stops. i've got almost every second accounted for.

the "eleven missing scenes" that you're thinking of are probably from the finale script of questionable authenticity that @spnscripthunt acquired back in 2021 which can be found here. it's dated as the “final draft” from 11 sep 2020 and filming on 15x20 wrapped on 10 sep 2020. as noted at the bottom of this superwiki page "[the] script came from someone claiming to have been the person who did the closed captions for the show in Russia. There are some indications that it possibly may not be authentic, but this has not been confirmed."

if we go with the possibility that this was a transcript meant for subtitles, the "omitted" scenes were probably written but never filmed since it's the "final draft" and not a color revision (blue, green, yellow, etc). unfortunately, i’ve lost track of where i read it and a preliminary duckduckgo search isn’t bringing it up bc there's a program for script writing called final draft, but iirc the “final draft” version of a script is a transcript of what was filmed (e.g. there are parts of that 15x20 script that ended up being deleted scenes on the DVD). spnscripthunt also has an example of a confirmed final draft for 09x02 (funnily enough, also a dabb-penned ep). if anyone can confirm with a source that i have the purpose of the “final draft” version designation wrong, please let me know! i love being proven wrong with Facts.

i do want to acknowledge that the two “final drafts” do look different from each other and the 15x20 one doesn't look like a “real” final draft script since it lacks the revision/versioning dates that a script would normally have on the cover page. it could be that it was intended for subtitles; there's the chance it's been re-typed to anonymize it if there was anything indicating who the "owner" was, tho that seems a wee bit cloak and dagger to me. and again: it's considered of questionable authenticity. there are some things that don't quite line up but oh dear god i don't want to get even further out into the weeds than i already am.

i won't disagree that it's weird as hell that neoni only got asked about using their cover seven days prior to the episode airing (tiktok here). my personal theory is that they were hoping to get a more expensive song (maybe a zepp song, idk) and didn't manage to secure the rights in the end. again: this is pure conjecture on my part! but i could absolutely see someone working on the show hearing neoni’s cover and liking it and then maybe they were using it as a placeholder until it got down to the wire and they had to make a call/send the ep to networks. because yes, it is baffling they played a song and then a cover of it with only a 40 second break between. (i do actually really like the neoni cover! the placement is just weird and i think it could have worked if they had the kansas version at the beginning and closed with neoni's full cover.)

as to the 4th wall break COVID stuff: robert singer talked with variety magazine about filming the last two episodes and the logistics of filming during a pandemic. whether they should have been filming during a pandemic is a separate discussion but their use of office vs set pods, strict quarantining and daily testing meant that they had zero positive tests in the month they were filming (18 aug to 10 sep). so given all that, i personally don’t think it’s totally out of pocket to have everyone standing outdoors on a bridge for maybe an hour to get a drone shot of them together. (i won’t get into incubation periods and viral load, but if everyone tested negative that day and every day for a month prior, it was a fairly low risk scene to film outdoors and for all we know everyone was masked until the last possible second. there were plenty of outdoor masked protests in 2020 that weren't superspreader events.)

and before anyone brings up “but misha was in vancouver!” i know someone who looked into it and they said no dice, nothing matched up between the backgrounds in those pics and places in vancouver. his statements about “us” going back to set over the summer were pretty generic in hindsight and “we”/"us" could be him or the spn crew generally. unfortunately i’m not able to find those tweets but the use of “we” was likely so as not to give away he wouldn’t be returning to set. (bc we were absolutely casbaited!) and bc it comes up a lot: the "onion field pic" was from when they were filming 15x17 and was not taken while filming 15x19 and 15x20.

besides, it would be ridiculous to go through the financial and logistical headaches of bringing someone into the country to film during a pandemic, only to cut their scenes in the end! honestly, the script is pretty tight when the scenes are given so much breathing room! the only thing i could see being further cut down is The Monologue and even then, i don’t think there was any intent to cut it down given it was filmed in fairly long takes.

i’ve said it many times before, but i believe the finale was fucked long before they returned to set. walker got the green light in sep 2019 and it was being marketed heavily as a “follow on” show to spn given jared’s involvement. the demo they were courting for walker has little to no overlap with the demo for destiel fans — why would they want a finale that catered to a demo they weren't interested in courting? we just went through a historic double strike that exposed so much of the rot of business interests overriding creative vision. this isn't completely unfounded conjecture.

i will not apologize for the length of this bc i wanted to be thorough, but i do want to give context that i think the reason these conspiracies and rumors grind my gears so much is because anyone can fact check all of this. the truth is out there and absolutely none of it is that hard to find. the most time consuming/difficult part of this was finding someone who had a DVR’d copy of the finale from when it aired live and they actually found me themselves after i’d been low key asking around for a year!

and like. i get it. conspiracies are fun. but there are so many sourced instances of network homophobia and destiel being cut that it's like. why is this something folks are hanging onto? the cw is notorious for having upper level meddling with finales bc there's a follow-on show they want to shuffle fans along to and spn is no exception.

I noticed something on a rewatch about the arc of Aziraphale's coat. When it gets hit by that paintball, he says, "I've kept this in tip-top condition for over 180 years."

So, since 1839. 20-odd years before the fight / breakup in St. James's Park, which is the earliest we see it.

But wait, I says to myself, he wasn't wearing that coat in the 1940s Blitz scene in the church. He wears a different outer coat in that scene, one that looks new, made of a material that's stiffer and slightly shiny.

[Of course, one typically wears nicer and more uncomfortable clothes to one's wedding, and Crowley also looks very sharp and more buttoned-up than his typical look in this scene, but that's neither here nor there.]

After that, after Aziraphale realizes Crowley still cares for him despite their fight, and realizes he loves Crowley too, he switches back to the 1800s coat for good. When he appears in the Bentley in the 60s, he's back in the old coat, and he wears it every scene after that. [He does have that other gray cardigan-like jacket, but that's for relaxing in the bookshop only.]

In that argument in the park, he feels such a strong need to push Crowley away, for Crowley's own protection. (Every other resistance to collaboration, from the Globe onward, his argument is that *Crowley* would be in danger if they were found out; only in the park fight does he argue that *he* might be in danger. He's saying to Crowley that they need distance to protect him, Aziraphale, because even in his agitation he knows that Crowley's #1 motivator is protecting Aziraphale). Maybe after that, he tries to move on, switch to a modern new coat. And maybe Crowley coming for him again in the church lets him know it's okay to be himself again, to go as slow as he needs to, because Crowley will always come back for him.

AND ANOTHER THING

has to do with lapels.

Aziraphale's Blitz coat looks much more similar to the jackets worn by the other angels. Take a look at Michael and Uriel's jackets here. They are stiff and have that sheen to them, and the lapels point up.

Like Aziraphale's Blitz jacket.

Compare that to the lapels on his trusty old coat. This coat is soft, just like Az. And the lapels point down.

Okay, okay, so what about demons? We know they deliberately did the miracle gestures with Aziraphale's snap pulling something down from Heaven and Crowley's pulling something up from Hell. If the angels have upward-pointing lapels, it would make sense for demons to have downward-pointing lapels, if my theory is going to hold.

Yup, that checks out. Hastur and Ligur have floppy sad ugly lapels that droop down toward Hell.

So, the final piece to this puzzle.... how about Crowley's lapels?

Outrageously spiky upwards-pointing lapels. Because of course. I rest my case.

Hey Axelle, thank you so much for rewatching tol, because i started rewatching myself (2nd time for 2022 - i won’t say how many times i rewatch it since my first watch but it’s a lot because it hurts soooo good)

To me, tol is so iconic & tbh yes off’s acting was off the charts in not me but he was so good in tol too, like actual king, he lit up my heart with his cuteness and then broke it with his sadness

(some) reasons why tol is iconic:

both leads being super cute and savage at the same time;

the straight baiting with two and lynn;

the absolute genius of the change of pov;

the importance of the movie theme, it’s so important for the characters AND the storytelling;

the way they use the romantic tropes, like they even ruin the ones they use e.g. when third first rode with khai on chawee, it’s with romantic & like a romantic scene but then in the next ep, third relives the experience as horrible because khai is a terrible driver, and i adore that;

the way third values his friendship with khai without letting his jealousy ruin it. Like, he helps khai with girls (e.g. he’s the one organizing khaki’s first date with curly hair girl) while in other medias he would’ve done all he could to ruin khai’s chance with girls. I love that when third says he doesn’t want to ruin their friendship because it’s so important to him, it is actually shown to the audience & we really feel like third doesn’t see his situation as being "friendzoned" but as a "i’m in love with my best friend" and it really shows (i don’t know if i’m making sense but yeah…)

Anyways, i love tol, it’s one of my fav show of all time and all places, and i love revisiting it, so thank you again for bringing it back to me 💕

hi anon! omg yay we're twinning with the tol rewatches <3 could not agree more, off was INCREDIBLE as khai too & deserves more credit for it!!! and your reasons???? ummm... YES!!! couldn't agree more, firstly every character of the show is so lovely, I adore them all!!! second of all, the "straight baiting" is SO great bc like the whole untwo-lynn storyline is SO bisexual and full of angst & repressed feelings, yet lynn is not ONCE demonized, and you just KNOW two & her stayed friends afterwards and laughed about how they dated for a month, like... ugh don't get me started on the untwo storyline bc it's literal perfection!!! then I've talked in length about how theory of love is one of the rare shows that was able to choose one theme and RUN with it, like that show just makes you want to watch movies so bad & incorporated them so well into the plot, it's just SO good ahhh!!! and OMG you are SO RIGHT about them having the cliché romantic tropes but also mocking them at the same time!!! like even third, as I've said before, is one of the only bl & romance characters that is in love & knows he's incredibly biased and would do anything for khai, but also ROLLS his eyes about it bc he hates it LMAO! like it's so relatable bc being in love is not just heart eyes 24/7, it's also being like "that man really isn't that great" and "why the fuck did I do that?" :'))) and finally, YES about the friendship!!! I've said it since my first watch during the summer of 2019, but I consider theory of love a friendship show more than a romcom imo, bc the friendship is not only central to the whole show with the savage gang (tol is one of the only bl posters that features the main friend group on it & not just the main bl ship!), but also central to khaithird's relationship bc they are best friends before becoming lovers. so yeah, that show is truly so special & even though it's so angsty I'm just going 🥰🥰🥰 the whole time!!! thank you for supporting my gifsets, it means a lot <3

Hey I've been following you for a long while and at this point I'm just gonna ask so I have some context with your reblogs, what is the untamed about? I don't get any of it but I don't wanna unfollow so maybe if I can be like "oh yeah it's those men in wigs doing x again" it'll be less confusing before I scroll on. Also happy new year!!

!!!!! oh, hi! Happy New Year! I really.... need to actually start tagging stuff..........

It’s. My latest hyperfixation/obsession. I’m sorry that I’ve been spamming... Honestly, I had the same thing going on, seeing all these gifs of pretty people on my dash and being like “what is going on, I gotta know”. Let me see if I can give you a brief summary. The good news is that it’s on Netflix if you’re curious or interested, and I believe there are a few sites you can find it streaming free, too, if you don’t have access to an account.

Meta stuff first: The Untamed is a Chinese period fantasy drama that came out in 2019. It’s 50 episodes long and is based on a Chinese online boy-love novel called Mo Dao Zu Shi, often translated as “Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation” or “Founder of Daibolism.” There’s also a manhua (manga) and a donghua (anime/cartoon) that are both ongoing and, unlike The Untamed, don’t censor the explicit romantic relationship between the main male lead and the secondary male lead. Or, at least, the manhua doesn’t. Given the donghua is ongoing, it’s a lot harder to tell whether or not that’ll end up explicit or just as heavily implied as The Untamed.

Plot wise, The Untamed follows the story of Wei Wuxian’s life, death, and return. The first two episodes are a bit confusing because you wind up dropped in the middle of things without very much context, beginning with a scene of Wei Wuxian’s death and then jumping forward in time to when another man, Mo Xuanyu, sacrifices himself in order to bring him back to life, so that Wei Wuxian might take revenge upon Mo Xuanyu’s family. The reason he opted to bring Wei Wuxian back is because Wei Wuxian is the scourge of the cultivation world.

(Cultivation is a path of magic and supernatural study by which someone cultivates their own spiritual energy in order to, ultimately, ascend to immortality. Cultivators do a lot of ghost hunting and monster slaying as well, making sure that spirits and souls are laid to rest. I do not know a whole lot about all of this because I am not Chinese and very new to Chinese media, so this is a very rough outline, but the important thing to know is that they’re sort of magicians and they take care of supernatural stuff. There are various sects that pursue specific specialties and paths of cultivation, and there’s a LOT of political intrigue going on as well.)

After the first couple of episodes, there begins an extended flashback to the years shortly before Wei Wuxian died to show how he went from one of the greatest and most admired cultivators of his generation to the most reviled. When things finally jump back to the present, the rest of the show focuses on the mystery set up in the first couple of episodes and Wei Wuxian rebuilding his relationships with the various people he loved in his former life, as well as--ultimately--clearing his name.

There’s a lot of political intrigue, drama, humor, romance, and tragedy. The show examines some serious themes of good vs. bad, how the actions of a person reflect upon those around them regardless of intention, how people can become trapped by the society around them, what does it mean to sacrifice, whether the ends justify the means. Despite all of that, the show DOES end on a hopeful, if somewhat bittersweet note, and even though the explicit gayness is censored, there’s more than enough to be like ‘oh, yeah, okay you two,’ about it, and neither of the couple are shoe-horned off into some forced heterosexual marriage in order to make it clear that they’re not gay or anything like that, which is nice. Plus I basically refer to the set up and beginning as “Unbury Your Gays” given that the first ten minutes or so involve Wei Wuxian coming back to life. Because I think I’m funny.

It’s a beautifully filmed series, so many of the actors are drop dead gorgeous, the plot is engaging, the soundtrack is to die for, and I drool over the costumes. Basically, highly recommend. It’s not without it’s problems (the women characters are few but kick-ass, but also most of them die), and there’s definitely some triggering stuff in there--death, dismemberment, self-harm, suicide, and incest, and probably more that I’m not able to remember, so if you do watch it and any of those are triggers, proceed with caution.

But in general, I HIGHLY recommend it. I found a whole new sub-genre of fantasy that I never knew about! I’m telling myself I’m not going to learn Mandarin but I’m probably going to break soon.

Destiel Chronicles

And then... There's this gap here...

Hello my dears! How are you? This is the second meta from season 7 from my Destiel Chronicles. And this is very critical one, to the gap I found after Castiel's death.

I want to give thanks to my friend @agusvedder she made the gifs for this meta and discussed with me the episodes.

Well, I should stop the cháchara, and just do it.

Changing the focus

I noticed after Castiel's death, the focus of the show was all over the topic GUILT and LIES. Because why not? Let's confront Sam and Dean again so we can get a little of Wincest fuel.

So, Dean killed that Kitsune woman, Sammy's maybe first love and friend (a monster friend, as Dean will have on Benny in s8). But well... Dean is lying and he feels guilty about what he did. And Sam ignoring the whole situation... Okay... Cas is out. That story ended. Let's focus on Wincest and Pathologic Codependency between the brothers.

Episode 7x04 Defending your life, was about GUILT, and how it came to haunt you.

And because it was a very Wincest episode when we confronted Sam and Dean with VERITAS en Season 6, why not repeat the thing? Let's use another God... OSIRIS to confront them again. Like watching the same bad movie twice.

Ok, soy, Dean is drinking a lot of alcohol, because of Cas? Well of course, but the writers made it because of the guilt he feels for lying to his brother.

In the middle of this situation, he talks about this with a waitress, and Osiris captured him.

And because Sammy is so smart and believes in his brother, he is the lawyer, his defensor.

The whole episode is focused in old guilts and regrets of Dean. OSIRIS called Jo, and then Sam, because he felt responsible for them, for their safety, and about Jo, for her death.

Sam is the person that try to clean all those old ghosts from his brother. But he failed, because Dean has a big issue with the guilt.

Aaaand Codependency again...

This is what makes Wincest strong: Pathologic Codependency... And we will see a lot of it thanks to Sera Gamble...

Episode 7x06: Slash Fiction.

There's two Leviathans copying Cas and Dean and committing crimes in places where they were hunting years ago (firsts seasons, bc Sera missed Bro-only episodes so much... Awww 😒).

Okay, so they had to meet this guy Frank, a very odd man and very smart. And Dean had to abbandon Baby in that place...

So we had this comic dialogue...

SAM: It's temporary, Dean.

DEAN: Nobody puts Baby in a corner.

SAM: Y-you know that's a line from --

DEAN: Swayze movie. Swayze always gets a pass!

SAM: Right. Uh, well, you want some tunes or something? Here.

And then there was Air Supply singing I'm all out of love... And Dean was like...

Ok... If you weren't watching the episode, this could be a very Destiel song, BUT, this is Wincestland or Gamble-land, is the same, and the song is just for loosing Baby. Cas is erased here. No more Cas... And... Wasn't Sammy hallucinating with Lucifer? Oh, yeah, nevermind... If they don't want to write it... Okay, keep watching.

But the thing here... Was this scene...

LEVIATHAN!DEAN: I mean, honestly, I just... You know what? I can't stand the guy. Talk about a hero complex. And he doesn't have relationships. No, he has applications for sainthood. Oh, and he thinks he's funny. He thinks he's a damn comedian.

LEVIATHAN!SAM: Who has two thumbs and full-blown bats in the belfry?

LEVIATHAN!DEAN points at LEVIATHAN!SAM and LEVIATHAN!SAM points at himself with both thumbs.

LEVIATHAN!SAM: I'm serious. It's nothing but Satan-vision on the inside. I mean, how he's walking around in a jacket with detachable arms is beyond me. You know, I had a brother with this many issues once.

Okay, not this scene, but was funny, look how they talked about Hallucifer! Yay! They didn't forget! 😒

I wanted to show you this scene, when Dean and Sam got arrested by the police...

LEVIATHAN!DEAN: I just want to let you know how much I've really grown to hate you and your brother since we've been wearing you. I just don't get it. You could be anything. You're strong, you're uninhibited. 

Another confrontation, the Leviathan here is saying he doesn't understand Dean and Sam pathologic Codependency, this gives a Wincest tint to the scene, it was written with that intention, and that's how it feels.

Then, the Leviathan! Dean told the truth about Sammy's monster friend...

And I present here to all of you, the Wincest master topic, because Sam reacts exaggeratedly to this. It's a break up? It looks like. Oh yes, the kind of drama Gamble likes, the bro-only one...

Now... Let's jump to episode 7x07, Sam is mad at Dean, they broke up 😒 but they bumped into each other trying to solve a case.

The clues lead them to a Museum... And this dialogue is just... Okay. Nevermind... Just look at it...

MUSEUM GUIDE: Never ended well for the siblings.

DEAN: Why is that?

MUSEUM GUIDE: Mm, the strain of working together, or maybe just being around each other all their lives. Those two were the exception, actually – the Campbells. Got along famously. Of course, that was just a stage name

Ok.. all right... The Campbells?? Really? What was Mary Winchesters's last name??? Oh yes... Campbell! 😒 Ah, ok, they weren't actually brothers, they were lovers, nevermind... Nothing to see here... 🤦

Then.. we'll have more drama... And Dean will mention Cas trying to explain why he killed the Kitsune. Because CAS is compared here with a "monster friend" (??) And because his betrayal he doesn't trust anyone now (???!!) I know this could be written so differently... I know that.

Is an episode I want to forget. Thank you.

Okay, what I have to say of episode 7x08? Sam married with Becky (a Wincest shipper) and Dean being the third in discord. Love triangle my friends... Can I vomit now?

What a gap... And who was Castiel?? And... Wasn't Sam hallucinating with Lucifer?

I know we can find the plot and the storyline somewhere...

Nope.

Don't worry... Edlund will be back to the rescue in episode 9, in the next Chronicle.

Bobby

Okay, not all these episodes before Edlund were ugly, the one that wrote Gamble about Bobby is a cute one. I have to give her that, but kind of repetitive in some aspects... But, symbolically, it was a nice episode in which we could learn more about Bobby.

Episode 7x10 Death's door showed us how Bobby was the real good dad these boys had. We learn about his own childhood, with an abusive father, and how that past made him connect immediately with his sons, Dean and Sam.

One of the issues with Bobby was this quote...

"You break everything you touch." Is the phrase that kept dancing in Bobby's head thanks to his dad...

So we traveled all over Bobby's traumas, and how he was desperately trying to keep himself alive because he needed to deliver to his boys one last clue against the Leviathans, Bobby fighting till the end, my friends...

And this was my favorite part ...

That's why Bobby was the lovely and normal father for these boys, and is so touching. He tried to give them a normal life. And they are so grateful with him because of that.

And this too...

Bobby scolding John, trying to make him see what the kids needed from him. Trying to bring him back from that revenge path he was following.

Loable work.

So Bobby trapped his reaper, and delivered the boys those numbers, and then he died.

I can't forget Dean's words about trying to keep his faith... "

For him it was harder, because he is a chronic denying boy, and Sam was the one with his feet on Earth. And this dialogue broke my heart.

SAM: Dean, listen – we need to brace ourselves.

DEAN: Why?

SAM: Because it's real.

DEAN: What do you want to do? You want to hug and – and say we made it through it when Dad died? We've been through enough.

Gah, I wanted to hug them right there. 😟

Okay... Enough of sobbing...

To Conclude:

There was several episodes with big Wincest subtext content, and Cas and Hallucifer plot seemed to be erased... Also the storyline.

The episode about Bobby's death was a cute one, with touching scenes and flashes about Bobby's past, showing us his issues and what a good father he was with our boys.

I hope you had enjoyed this one's, it was kind of critical, but I promise Destiel in the next ones...

MY 100TH POST!!!

Avengers: Endgame First Impressions

-> Subseries: Steve's Love Story:

I wanted to do something exciting for my 100th post. I was planning on writing a list of the things all the things I loved the first time I watched Avengers: Endgame, but I never ended up doing it. Then recently, I decided to try to remember what that list was...

I remember thinking she looked like the most beautiful angel goddess in this moment. I was so relieved that Tony was saved.

I just loved that. "Wow." He's thinking that, to her, 3000 is a really big number. Tony is such a good dad.

"Turns out resentment is corrosive, and I hate it." "Me, too." This moment came after a long wait. I've always loved their respect and love for each other, and that was very noticeably absent from Avengers: Infinity War. It felt so good to see them finally let go of the bitterness between them and have them fighting side by side again.

Hearing "A Promise" again! I had spent the last month listening to that song, and it was just so familiar. I wasn't expecting it, and it was so exciting to hear it again as the Avengers were suiting up all together one last time and Steve was giving them his last speech. He is really good at that. :')

"Yeah, I know!" This was pretty much my favorite part of the whole movie the first time I watched it. I laughed for so long. He's heard that before. :)

"On your left." I loved Steve's visible relief. He can hardly believe that he's hearing Sam's voice. Sam has always had his back.

Wasp coming out of the portal. Somehow, subconsciously, I was waiting for her, and I got so excited when I saw her again.

I loved Wanda and Okoye being the ones to say that Carol has help because Wanda, Okoye, and Natasha fought Proxima Midnight in Avengers: Infinity War. This moment was for Natasha.

Steve got to be with Peggy. As much as this scene ripped me apart, and still does, I remember thinking how peaceful he looked. I've loved the song "It's Been A Long, Long Time" ever since I first heard it in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it was so familiar and fit so perfectly. I had been anticipating this scene for a year, and it finally came. This scene meant that Steve was never coming back. But I was also smiling through the tears because I was happy for him. He got to be with Peggy.

Offended (part II)

(6x03/6x06/6x07)

Hello my friends! This is another volume from my Destiel Chronicles. The second part of "Offended".

I want to give special thanks to my dearest friend @agusvedder , this time she couldn't make the gifs, but she helped me with the discussion! Thank you girl!

Ok, now... Let's go straight to the point.

Castiel in angel soldier mode

Coming back to episode 6x03, Dean is witness of Castiel's soldier mode behavior.

The angel moves fast appearing and disappearing (we need to recall this chapter was written by Edlund, and he loves to write angels as dynamic forces, and make Dean yelling FREAKING ANGELS! Everytime he is in the middle of this) So Cas was moving around, fighting with some angels, and being very risky with a kid, touching his soul for information. That was an alert alarm for Dean.

Sam is soulless, so, he can't understand the concern about hurting a kid, and he is more on line with Castiel's soldier mode behavior. In the middle is Dean that can't believe CAS is doing such a thing to a boy.

Cas is so accelerated that Dean needs to stop him somehow. The angel gave just a little of information to their friends.

CASTIEL: It is simple: Raphael and his followers, they want him to rule Heaven. I -- and many others -- the last thing we want is to let him take over. It would be catastrophic.

SAM: You're talking civil war.

CASTIEL: Technically, yes. Which is why we have to find Balthazar and his weapons before Raphael does. Whoever has the weapons wins the war.

So he didn't explain the details, but it was enough there...

Pointing here the fact that Dean is seeing Cas in his soldier mode, is a behavior he will have the whole season, and he will repeat I'M AT WAR a lot of times, as an excuse.

And I'm not forgetting this manner...

CASTIEL: If the angel we seek truly bought this boy's soul, when a claim is laid on a living soul, it leaves a mark, a brand.

Now... This topic had been analyzed a lot here, it would explain the handprint in Dean's shoulder and it also would explain why Sam was pulled out from Hell without a soul by Cas... He couldn't claim his soul (bc it was very difficult to do it by himself). Just a Destiel observation.

Let's jump now to the next episode.

Dean is mad at Castiel bc he doesn't pay attention to their problems

In episode 6x06 "You Can't Handle The Truth", we had just one scene with Castiel but with a huge intensity.

First of all... The episode begins with Bobby and Dean and this question...

BOBBY: Did you call Cas?

DEAN: 'Course I called Cas. He's not answering. Screw him. I can't wait anymore.

Dean is worried about Sam's behavior. He doesn't know what is going on with his brother and he just saw him how he waits for him to be turned into a vampire by a monster. So he had been calling Castiel. And Cas doesn't answer.

This is new for him, bc till now, Cas was there for them. And he was helping them. But since he returned to Heaven, things changed. And Dean felt he was let behind. And he can't understand why Castiel isn't there for him. Or why he isn't worried about Sam. He's so mad at Castiel bc of that. Bc he isn't there for him. Remember season 4? When they first met as I wrote in one of the first chronicles... Dean was pushing Castiel the whole time asking him for help, and he got mad when CAS didn't help him. And they just met! So this time is worst, bc they already are best friends, and Cas isn't there! So yes, Dean is mad at him.

And when Castiel finally appears... It shows...

DEAN (drains a glass of whiskey.) Castiel? Hello? Possible loose nuke down here, angelic weapon. Kinda your department. You hear that, Cas?

The way Dean is calling Cas is like if he wouldn't expect for the angel to show... But Castiel appeared... Bc Dean named an angelic weapon. Useful to the war.

CASTIEL appears. Hello, Dean.

DEAN: Are you kidding me? I have been on red alert about Sam, and you come for some stupid horn?!

CASTIEL: You asked me to be here, and I came.

DEAN: I -- I've been asking you to be here for days, you dick!

Look how mad is Dean. And Castiel's answer doesn't helps. The hunter feels like Cas is avoiding him about Sam's soul but, by the other hand, he mentions an angelic weapon and Cas is there. And Dean is calling Cas dick! He is very, very angry with him.

Now... It comes the excuse...

CASTIEL, abashed. I didn't come about Sam because I have nothing to offer about Sam.

DEAN: Well, that's great, because for all we know, he's just gift wrap for Lucifer.

Ok, we have one important matter here... Cas had pulled Sam out of hell... But the boys don't know that, so... Cas is avoiding this bc he is lying to them. (Yeah.. beautiful Gamble's plot... Transforming an ALWAYS HONEST CHARACTER into a LIAR ONE).

So... Now Cas is seeing how distressful Dean is about his brother's behavior and about him not paying attention to his prayers... And he decides do something to calm him down...

He refills Dean's glass with whiskey while he explains Dean's biggest fears about his brother being Lucifer is imposible.

And why am I so sure about this gesture was made with that intention? Because we will have the parallel in episode 6x09 "Clap your hands if you believe" (Edlund's) in which after being kidnapped, Dean returns to find his brother with a woman in the bed. So he was so mad at him, that Sam decides to give him a glass of whiskey.

The difference here is the huge sexual tension between Dean and Cas.

Dean misses HIS CAS

When Dean was more calm, he tries to talk with CAS...

DEAN: What happened to you, Cas? You used to be human, or at least like one.

CASTIEL: I'm at war. Certain... regrettable things are now required of me.

Is obvious Dean misses HIS CAS. The one that was there just for him.

And the excuse "I'm at war" is there again. And then... Castiel disappears again!

This made Dean get mad again...

But Cas appears again. And he sees Dean is mad at him. So he tries another strategy.

He promise he will help him.

This was a lovers fight, my friend, right in front of our eyes... Because you'll see... Dean is the husband that reclaims more attention from his husband and Cas is trying to please him with flowers and chocolates...

"Sorry babe, I know I wasn't at home these days, the work is demanding me more hours but I will take you for dinner next Sunday! It's a Promise!"

Is so hilarious but so accurate...

But it seems that Cas didn't take Dean for dinner and this is what we had in episode 6x07...

Dean bossy with Cas

In episode 6x07 "Family Matters" Cas is trying to make a diagnosis about Sam, and he discovers he's soulless...

But we will talk about the Destiel fight here...

Dean is being so bossy with Cas... Like if he was his servant or something. And Cas is being submissive, of course... because he didn't take Dean out for dinner... And Dean is mad again.

Not just this but... When they went to see Samuel, their grandfather, this scene...

SAMUEL: This Castiel? You're scrawnier than I pictured.

CASTIEL: This is a vessel. My true form is approximately the size of your Chrysler building.

DEAN: All right, all right, quit bragging. So, you were dead, and...

Dean is cutting Castiel out, and is hilarious... But after this... Castiel has to come back to Heaven, because "he's at war", and Dean gave him a last order... In a bad way...

Cas is being sarcastic here... And we have another parallel with Bobby in episode 6x04. Bobby scolded the boys because they put their problems first. And is exactly what Cas is saying here.

So... Another lovers fight. And Dean being a jiltter offended husband.

And I'm keeping the "taking off my belt while liking my lips and watching you SUGGESTIVELY" scene for another chronicle...

To conclude

Dean was mad at Cas because he was putting the war over his problems.

He misses HIS CAS, the one that was always there for him. And he is disappointed about the way Cas is behaving.

Castiel tries hard to be in two sides at the same time and to please Dean helping him when he can, but he's also aware about Dean's selfishness.

It was a love story from the very beginning.

Ally... Protector... Best friend... And something else... (Part I)

Hi dear Fandom! I'm here again bringing you a new volume from my Destiel chronicles.

I want to say thank you to my dearest friend @agusvedder she made the gifs for this meta and discussed with me these topics! Thank you girl! 😘💕

But let's start...

Ally

In 5x03 "Free to be you and me" Dean and Cas team up to hunt Raphael.

Dean discovered Castiel's lack of touch for get information. And in an almost "paternal" gesture, he fixed Cas tie and shirt. Trying to teach him the basics...

I will talk about the "first date" with CAS in other volume, here I want to show you how they worked together to get Raphael.

First of all, they found the vessel in the hospital. Cas sent a message to the Archangel, and I want you to pay attention to Dean's reaction while watching his friend being such a badass...

He likes to see Castiel this way. He likes his badass side, his bossy side. He is proud of it. And he likes it. We can read all of that from his face, full of amazement.

So after they track down the Archangel, Dean follow Cas and he mentioned something... Hoping Cas catch an inner joke between them. You know, as friends.

And then we had this scene... Such a badass Castiel too...

And Dean following him, I could say I little proud of his friend's fierceness.

One of the last moments from 5.10 in which Lucifer was trying to wake up Death, with Sam and Dean trapped there... Showed us how Castiel is a "good timing" Ally. He appeared in the best moment and rescued his friends.

He was trapped by Lucifer and Meg bc Lucifer knew he will be a problem... He was a strong and determinated Ally of the Winchesters.

Protector

In the episode 5x13 "The song remains the same" Castiel blocked Anna intentions to get an encounter with the Winchesters...

CASTIEL: Hello, Anna.

ANNA: Well. If I didn't know any better...

ANNA turns around.

ANNA: I'd say the Winchesters don't trust me.

CASTIEL: They do. I don't. I wouldn't let them come.

Castiel is protecting Sam and Dean from Anna, he suspects she has bad intentions... Bc he knows well Heaven and his techniques...

He is acting like a truly Guardian Angel of the Winchesters.

CASTIEL: If you're out of prison, it's because they let you out. And they sent you here to do their dirty work.

ANNA: And what makes you so sure?

CASTIEL: Because I've experienced...heaven's persuasion.

Castiel began to confirm his suspects over Anna. When he sees her armed, recalling Anna intentions were to be face to face with Sam and Dean.

CASTIEL: If you're not one of them, then what do you want?

ANNA: I want to help.

CASTIEL: You want to help?

ANNA: Yes.

CASTIEL: Then what are doing with that knife?

A long pause. ANNA draws the knife.

ANNA: I'm not allowed to defend myself?

CASTIEL: Against whom? That blade doesn't work against angels. It's not like this one.

Castiel is good on this. He gets the idea right away. He should be relieved he didn't let Sam and Dean to come.

Then... Suddenly Anna revealed her truly intentions.

ANNA: Sam Winchester has to die.

She explained Sam is Lucifer's vessel so she needs to finish him. Castiel tries to convince her that killing Sam wouldn't solve the problem. And finally, he quoted TFW "prime law"

CAS: We will find another way.

When Anna saw Castiel defending the WINCHESTERS with such loyalty, she knew he had changed a lot.

Castiel choose another path. He already choose Humanity and choose to be the Winchesters's Ally.

This is the episode in which TFW is born, beacuse by the end of it, we had Dean naming their alliance...

Best friends (part 1)

I'm gonna divide this one in two part bc it will take a lot of gifs and explanations... So... Please be patient! In the middle at volume I will finish talking about BEST FRIENDS topic and SOMETHING ELSE.

Ok, let's see then, continuing with episode 5x13, before they traveled time, Castiel explained the boys Anna had bad intentions, and wanted to kill Sam.

Again Castiel lack of pop culture as an impediment to understand the conversation, but Dean explains this time...

DEAN: No one, just this psycho bitch who likes to boil rabbits.

But Sam is kind of considering the offer...

SAM: So the plan to kill me, would it actually stop Satan?

DEAN: No, Sam, come on.

And then Dean looked at CAS with despair, trying to get from him some help. Castiel felt he could use Dean's reference again...

This, my friends, is improvement of character thanks to the beautiful friendship TFW started to develop.

After coming back from Croatan world in 5x04 "The End" , (episode I will talk in my next volume) Dean was so worried about the huge change he had seen in his friend, that after being rescued by Castiel from Zachariah, he observed that was his nerdy angel... So we had this classic Destiel scene...

This is Dean, shocked by the endverse!Castiel version he saw... Trying to preserve the present Cas, with his whole lack of pop culture...

In 5x06, the episode that talks about the Antichrist, the little boy transformed Cas into a wood figure. Dean asked him to return him to his truck form, but the kid didn't want to, he said there they weren't friends... But by the end of the episode, Dean came back to insist...

Here, Dean is in aknowledgment about what Cas had become in their lives... Kind of buddy? Kind of friend? He is trying to figure out what Cas means to him. He saw the future in which they seemed be more than friends, and he is aware he enjoys Castiel's company differently to the way he will enjoy expending time with just a friend... So... Kind of buddy... Yes... He just needs to know what the hell that means...

To conclude

Castiel is a powerful Ally the Winchesters had. He is loyal and protective, he is the Winchesters's guardian angel.

He had rebel for them and he will protect them with his life.

This was the season where TFW is mentioned for the first time, and Castiel quoted their prime law in the same episode.

He also is the best friend they will ever had, Castiel's mission. But with Dean there's something more, something else, that is always present there... Even when they had "friend time" there's always something else going on between the angel and the older hunter.
