You know those dreams we all have where we're falling, or you're in a car and there's a bump that jolts you awake? That's what's happening to me right now. my whole body shook, all my muscles tensed, and I felt like i couldn't breathe. But when I sat up, it was all just a dream. I was sat in my bed, of course, with the only sounds being the fan and my deep breathing. I must have had a nightmare I couldn't remember because, for some reason, my room felt eerie. I'd lived alone for some time now and was used to waking up alone, but tonight I was just on edge, I wonder what I could have dreamed about. Nevertheless there was no point worrying about a dream. Shuffling around for a minute, I finally got comfortable and fell back to sleep.

Again. My whole body convulsed awake. Out of agitation, I squeezed my eyes shut, and gripped the bed sheets. Why can’t I just stay asleep? Not willing to risk waking up fully, I kept my eyes closed and gave into the overwhelming grogginess I was feeling.

Hello! I've seen you draw a lot of Kamen Rider and got curious about it and wanted to ask what it's about and what it is!

thank you! 💛💜💛 Rider's been near and dear to my heart for well over a decade now, and I'm always happy to suck more people into the void. >:)

Kamen Rider is a Japanese live-action superhero franchise; they come out with a new standalone show every year with brand new characters/story/etc. (so you typically don't need to have seen any of the others to understand it). because every show is often totally different, there's a big variety in tone and quality, but I have some personal recs in this post! and you can also take a look at the wikipedia list (under 'main series') and just see which ones might sound good to you. :D (there's also Ride Kamens, the Twstification-style game that I've really been enjoying, though it is only in Japanese right now.)

at its heart it's basically just a bunch of guys in superhero suits having emotions while swinging foam swords and questionable CGI at rubber monsters, and it's excellent.

BL WRAPPED 2023

thanks for the tag @distant-screaming (here)! I decided to get a little creative with it, and also customized it a bit to myself (I'm not a big soundtrack or fanfiction person).

This also functions more or less as my "First Year in BL" post - I watched my first BL in mid January 2023, made this sideblog in mid March 2023, and I haven't looked back since.

I'm going to tag @airenyah, @chickenstrangers, @colourme-feral, @sollucets, @twig-tea, @waitmyturtles, and @williamrikers to do any version of a wrap up they please (or none at all!). I'm also curious to see other people's years summed up, so if you're reading this feel free to tag me - I haven't been on Tumblr much lately so I know I've missed things.

so a coworker and I were talking about our 'types' when it comes to being attracted, and i did not prepare for the subject of big noses to come up out of the blue but it did. and we both agree, big noses are... very, very attractive.

and as if that wasn't enough to fluster me, I had the absolute gall to say "I prefer my men pale and sickly" which sent coworker into a fucking wheezing fit of laughter, and i couldn't help but laugh too lol

tbh it amazes me how I can now stand a good ribbing about something like this AND add fuel to the fire without feeling ashamed like I might have years ago. it's progress like this that makes me feel good about myself.

The best part of being back in a fandom with weekly episodes is the chaos and spec between episodes. I love seeing what everyone is thinking and then watching the episode and seeing what was right and what was completely wrong.

It isn't meant to be serious, it's meant to be fun.

The worst part about being in a fandom with weekly episodes is that people sometimes take spec and fan theories too seriously. They get these ideas in their head and then when the show does something different they get upset at the show and the person who came up with the theory.

If you're reading spec and getting so attached to it that you're upset at the show, stop. Spec is spec and most of the time it's wrong because we aren't working with all of the information that the writers are.

If you read spec and you get upset that it was wrong and feel mislead, you need to take a breath and maybe go outside. No one on tumblr dot com is saying they know what's coming next. We're all just fans theorizing (unless one of you is secretly the show runner and in that case please come talk to me I have so many questions).

Canon is always better than spec because it's canon. It's the writers and show runner (and actors) putting in all this work to make something for us. They know the general idea of what's coming in 5, 10, 15 episodes and we have no idea. They know the general plan for the next season. They have information that will never make it on screen.

No amount of watching the show and reading interviews will ever get us that level of knowledge because we aren't in the room. So let the spec and theories be what they're meant to be - a fun way to fill the time between episodes and engage with other fans.
