Will Ospreay x Darby Allin under the cut. I got a bit carried away.

Since I've committed to the bit, I was writing out a random idea while it was slow at work. Now I’ve got this. Oops. Apologies in advance, I haven’t written anything properly in forever and I haven’t written anything wrestling related in over a decade. Feel free to shoot me any other ideas for this ship, I love seeing them.

I've been thinking about how the winter here is so much different than it is in England, so Will would probably come to love it, even when it's bitterly cold. He's in the US pretty much all the time now and it's a treat every time he gets to experience it.

This of course then makes me think of how Darby probably doesn't give a fuck if it's freeze your tits off cold outside wherever they are (Detroit, Canada, Minnesota, etc), he's gonna wear whatever whenever. He's not exactly someone who seems to have a preservation instinct of any sort.

Will, the caring himbo he is, cannot fucking stand it. Darby is small and thin and Will is convinced the man is gonna freeze to death because he's too fucking stubborn to wear a real coat. He won't even wear something that isn't sneakers! There's ice Darby, you're gonna break your fucking neck and not from jumping off a goddamn ladder!

First, Will tries a more passive approach. Helpful hints, keeping a closer eye on Darby, pestering him that he won't be good to anyone if he turns into a human popsicle. None of this works.

Will is not a man who gives up easily. Darby is notoriously stubborn. Well, I two can play at that game.

Will starts leaving hoodies with Darby’s stuff in the locker room. Darby, at first, thinks maybe somebody just left their stuff in the wrong place. It doesn’t long for him to catch on though and he isn’t impressed. He simply sets the clothing aside and goes about his business.

Will decides to take another approach. He doesn’t want to look like some sort of creep who goes rifling through other people’s belongings without permission so he makes sure to be quick about it, taking yet another hoodie and shoving it inside Darby’s bag so it’s not visible from the top. It’s silly but goddammit he’s committed to this.

That night, as Darby gets back to his hotel room, exhausted and sore, he isn’t really paying close attention as he unpacks his bag looking for a change of clothes.

The soft fabric is what he notices first. He pulls on it and finds yet another hoodie.

Fucking Ospreay. Doesn’t this guy take a hint? He doesn’t need to be mother henning over him like he’s a little boy.

Darby has to resist the urge to chuck the damn thing across the room. But it’s then he realizes something different about this particular hoodie.

Up until this point, Darby was pretty sure Ospreay was wasting money buying a bunch of hoodies that Darby was downright ignoring at this point because apparently he doesn’t have anything better to do.

But this hoodie, black and very soft with an Assassin’s Creed logo blazoned on the front in white (Darby internally rolls his eyes, what a fucking nerd), has clearly been worn before.

Derby hesitantly raises the fabric closer to his face, inhaling slowly. It smells like him, the bastard. Some sort of cologne. Not the fancy rich asshole type, something more mainstream, comforting almost. A little sweaty but also clean, like he’s worn it right after showering. It’s as if Will is standing right next to him and has just taken it off to give to him. Like he cares about him and there’s something between them. Like they’re together or some shit.

Darby growls to himself. He badly wants to punch Will square in his pretty face.

Some time passes. Will hasn’t seen much of Darby, just glimpses here and there. He has a feeling he’s being avoided, which he doesn’t like. He decides maybe it’s time to back off.

It isn’t until it’s another cold day outside another stadium that he sees Darby for the first time in what seems like that forever. This time, it’s Will who almost falls on his ass in the snow. Though even that wouldn’t stop the grin that spreads across his features.

Darby is wearing his hoodie. He’s actually wearing it instead of just freezing for no good reason. He’s still in thin jeans and some sneakers but Will doesn’t care, he’ll take it.

The hoodie hangs off Darby’s smaller frame but he doesn’t seem to mind.

Fuck, Will didn’t realize he’d look that cute.

Darby notices the bastard grinning at him and approaches, his expression as aloof as always, the hood over his head making him that much harder to read. Still, he stands close to Ospreay, though he doesn’t quite look at him.

“You proud of yourself?”

“Proud isn’t exactly the right word, I’d say. You uh, you do look good though. Maybe you should wear some of my clothes more often.”

Darby has no right moving as fast as he does but within a moment he’s grabbed Will by the scruff of his neck, fingers digging into as much of Will’s blonde curls as he can get his hand on. He yanks Will down to his height.

Icy blue eyes lock with his from beneath the hoodie. Darby bares his teeth and Will is trying to remind his brain this is serious, but all he can think about is how hot this has suddenly become.

“You are so lucky you’re charming or I’d have beat your ass for going near my things.”

Will only hears one thing. “You think I’m charming, huh?”

With his grip on Will’s hair, it’s easy enough to close that distance. Will’s hands reach out to grip Darby’s hoodie in his fists and pull him closer and he doesn’t resist, even as his teeth nip at Will’s lips. Of course his lips are as soft as they look and the kiss sends a jolt through Darby all the way to his fingertips.

A plum of frosty air escapes the moment they pull apart. Will is panting softly, lips flushed red, looking wild eyed. Darby finds that detail rather satisfying.

As Darby takes a step back, his eyes don’t leave Will’s face. “You know next time, if you’re gonna flirt with someone, you could just ask to take them out or something. Like a regular person.”

Will’s brows furrow together. “But you’d hate that.”

Darby’s lips turn up at the corner and he almost looks amused.

“You never know. Strange things happen around here all the time.”

Darby shoves his hands into the hoodie pocket, gaze still lingering on Ospreay before he turns and heads inside. Will can’t help noticing he actually avoids the patches of ice on the ground for once, as if he’s finally heeding Will’s warnings, even if it’s only this one time.

It’s not often that Will’s brain turns off. He always moving, always thinking. But right now, the only thing he can think about is how good Darby would look wearing more of his clothes. Or perhaps none at all.

He sighs. It’s gonna be a long night.

hello tuesday :) i'm going to start crossposting these onto my dreamwidth also just so i have a non-tumblr log of my weekly updates. please friend me on dreamwidth i would love an excuse to move platforms more

listening: OH i listened to SO much this week. i tuned in to my spotify release radar thing and it was a great idea to get exposed to some new music from artists i already know i like! i also peeped the discover weekly one a bit

i haven't listened to the newest paramore album in full but 'running out of time' was on the release radar playlist and i really really like the sounds! it feels very st vincent-y to me in a way that i wasn't expecting from paramore so i wonder if that was a conscious influence at all? or if they were both separately influenced by the same sources? it's really good though. i dont remember following shakey graves but they also rule i've been jamming to the whole album 'deadstock' which i think is just a collection of some of their more popular tracks? plus some live recordings. and tom rosenthal makes me cry still

oh wait actually i do have reading this week! i re-opened the slowly app (i downloaded it years ago but stopped using it at some point), which is a real-time penpal app - you can send letters to random people in the world, and it will send in "real time" as if you were actually mailing a letter! so i opened it and the app went oh? you're active? cool! and i started getting letters! so i got one from a guy in morocco, which i replied to right away, and also one in mandarin which i have NOT replied to right away because i had to spend like an hour translating it rip. out of five i put my mandarin proficiency at a 2 on my profile but honestly that may be too high oops. ah well. it'll be cool to try and get my mandarin back up to snuff! it'll also be a great way to learn things like idioms and other stuff that doesn't show up as often in traditional learning materials.

for example, phrase that i learned is 畅所欲言, chang4 suo3 yu4 yan4, which is a standard four-character idiom that means to speak without inhibitions or to just frankly speak your mind. i have like a full two pages of new words and phrases that i had to look up to read the letter which is awesome!

the letter from morocco was very cool and like...poetry adjacent? which im not sure if it's just because of a translation quirk - he said his english isn't the best - but i dunno. "I am writing to you because writing is a companion of the tired". anyways.

watching: i started watching evangelion with my partner!! we did ... i think about five episodes last week? it owns. this is the first time in a really long time that i've, like...gone blind into a media? my only exposure to eva has been through out-of-context memes (shinji get in the robot) and i feel like a lot of the time with TV shows i tend to read the wikipedia page before watching to see if it's really worth it :") i've never really cared about spoilers or whatever because honestly if it's a good enough show it won't really matter if i know what's going to happen or not, it's more about How it happens and how it's shot/framed/acted/etc. but i have zero context for eva and im very much enjoying it! i wasn't expecting the body horror at all it rules

making: making good progress on my embroidery project! this photo is from about two weeks ago but it's the most recent one i have and honestly haven't done THAT much more. i just finished filling that vertical headphone cord in with red, started some other headphone cord...after that all i have left is the letters (rip) and then doing maybe some sort of sashiko stitch/cross hatching as fill for the hair? like some spaced out x patterns in a grid or something like that. because i'm sure as shit not doing a satin or brick stitch to fill all that in and i think it'll still look good that way.

im also finishing up valentines gifts to mail to people :3

misc: hgg. quantum midterm on march 2. it is Rapidly approaching and im very nervous about it but in a VERY different way - this semester he's having the exams be open note and open book, which could be really good or really really bad. on the plus side i dont have to drive myself insane memorizing equations on flash cards again, most of my studying will probably be uber-familiarizing myself with the layout of the notes so i know where to reference things and also copying out things from online that might be relevant. on the minus side it means i have really no clue on how hard this exam will be. pain.

research is going. i feel like im sooo close to getting shit to work. however i am also experiencing research fomo because a prof that i didnt even know existed gave a presentation on her group for potential new students and i went wait wow that fucks. sigh. i think that's all for this week gang, gonna crosspost to dreamwidth after lunch!

🥢 I think you being apart of the Liberation would make this a whole lot more interesting, but I don’t want to risk spoiling anything for you. So I’ll stick with plain and simple, you’re apart of the League of Villains.

🥢 I can imagine your aesthetic mending really well with the League. They mostly dress in cold dark colours, and I feel like your goth babe vibes would fit nicely.

🥢 You’re so sweet I cant imagine you being a villain without a huge reason. You’re doing this to protect someone, maybe a best friend. The League is eventually made aware of this. Dabi’s the one to reveal it, moodily and a bit rudely.

🥢 What’s really important to Shigaraki is loyalty. You create strong platonic bonds and protect your friends really well, so I feel like that’s why Shigaraki noticed first about you.

🥢 Shigaraki would begin to warm up to you after a fight. He sees you mercilessly defending a wounded league member, and Shigaraki’s able to properly see how seriously you take this whole villain thing.

🥢 After this, Shigaraki reluctantly lets you sore on him. He’ll glare, scoff, and sigh in irritation, but sometimes he’ll lean into your touch. Shigaraki would never voice it, but he loves getting his wounds treated by you. He also likes the caring attention you give him, especially due to the significant lack of attention he gets on a daily basis. Shigaraki’s so touch starved.

🥢 So you guys get closer that way, with your protectiveness looming over the league like a protective cloak. You love them and they look up to you. Shigaraki’s admiration for you grows steadily.

yes I did put this off till the last second, I almost forgot oops lol

I've been on this place for a year now....OMG!! How has it been a year already? But it feels like I have been on longer then that at the same time? It's hard to explain.

I've my highs and lows on this app but it probably is one of my favorites due to some of the people on here.

I literally have a post with over 1,000 notes on it!! Its crazy to think that. I made it in like 2 minutes. I have no idea how that even happened.

I have nearly 800 followers which is the absolute craziest thing to me. Like almost 800 people went "Oh wow I really like their stuff" or "Aye they seem nice" or just simply just hit follow just because. It just amazes me.

And o receive messages and/or other notifications many times of day. Which is absolutely insane as well. To anyone who's ever messaged or liked my post or my reblog or whatever I thank you so much, it truly does mean alot.

I remember joining Tumblr after my friends suggesting it over and over again and plus being able to be on a place with Taylor. I was a no body for awhile. But in the last 2 months or so I think I've actually became, not tumblr famous, but like noticed by people.

Like I've finally found a place where there is actual people wanting to talk to me, let alone ones that actually stick around. Not too many people can stand my random thoughts at random moments lol. Though I still thank those who have tried to talk to me then go away because I wasn't what they thought or something. You still made the effort lol

Just in the last year I've made so many friends, some being just mutuals I dont talk to but they know who I am.

I've grow closer to my 1st internet friend Sara aka @gorgeous-irwin . She isn't on here much anymore though. But I still talk to her on Wattpad.

@zetsuboukiibo and it won't let me tag so I guess I'll just put a link you guys are literally my best friends since forever. As a token for actually standing me in real life(lol) is that I'll just type "YEET" (I'm going to regret that lol)

@what-now-lucas we haven't talked long but you really are a friend. You're really nice which is amazing. Ur amazing. I wish could talk more but apparently we're in totally different timezones and timezones suck lol

And last but the last from least The @rip-lukes-balsamic . We've only been talking for 3 months but ur one of my best friends. Ur usages of memes and reaction pics are superior. Plus you have an amazing personality and I absolutely love it.

And there's so so many other people but I have a bad memory and forget URLs plus it'll take too long to type them all out. But really, to anyone who's nicely interacted with me I thank you so so much. You put up with a that goes from talking about Taylor Swift to diving deem into band fandoms lol.

This place has been one of my main happy places in the last year. I've learned and grown as a person after being on here just only in a year. Cant wait to see what the future has in store.
