Bring Me Home Arc 2 Part 17
Damn, how did this get to a part 17????
Here's the promised WIP Wednesday (on a Thursday)!
I had a lot of fun writing this part. The words just flowed so easily.
If you didn't notice, I now have the first arc posted on AO3. It covers the first three parts I've shared here along with some extras that I never did.
Story Summary: Tim and Danny are both neglected by parents who care more about their work than their families. They deal with this by spending too much time online and find each other playing MMORPGs. They keep up their friendship as Tim becomes Robin and Danny becomes Phantom and don't bother keeping secrets from each other.

By the time morning had rolled around, Tim had also signed them up for a 7:30 AM and a 6 PM TV interview. Hopefully they could do enough damage control to mitigate the worst of Walker’s bad PR, whatever that turned out to be.
Tim nudged everyone awake at 5 AM. Conner and Cassie got up the easiest.
“Morning, Rob,” Conner said through a yawn. “Time to prepare for our interview?”
“Yep. We’ll be going in uniform since this is an interview for the Young Justice.”
“Great,” said Cassie. “We’ll be ready.”
Tim went to Danny next. “Hey, Danny.” The boy didn’t move, so Tim shook his shoulder slightly.
“Wha…?” Danny blinked his eyes open. “Wha’s goin on?”
“Me and the others are going to our interviews. We’ll be back in a few hours, kay?”
Danny just blinked at him and Tim laughed fondly.
“I’ll leave a note.”
Tim skipped breakfast on their way out, though Bart offered him some breakfast bars.
“It’s too late to be up,” Tim yawned.
Conner laughed as he hugged Tim and wrapped him in his TTK. They rose several feet into the air. “You should not have pulled that all-nighter.”
“How else was I supposed to be awake in time?”
Tim could feel the way Conner shook his head. “Just tell me where to go. I’ll get us there.”
Tim pointed to an area in town. “It’s over that way.”
Bart grinned. “I’ll meet you three there!”
“We won’t be long,” said Cassie.
With the benefit of flying, they were at the radio station within fifteen minutes. Sometimes being friends with metas made life so much easier.
As soon as they entered, a team of people greeted them.
“You were actually serious!” exclaimed a tall, white man. “Thought for sure it was a joke when I got your email last night. I’m Steve and I’ll be your interviewer this morning.”
Tim shook his hand. “Good morning, Steve. Robin at your service, and these are Superboy, Wonder Girl, and Impulse.”
Then they had to be introduced to all the producers, sound engineers, and assistants. If it hadn’t been for his parents’ gala training, Tim was certain he would’ve forgotten all the names instantly.
The employees knew how to do their jobs, however, and despite everyone wanting to meet the heroes, in less than twenty minutes, they were set up in the recording studio.
“So,” said Steve. “I just want to make sure I get this right. You, Robin, have been friends with Phantom for a while now and wanted to tell our listeners the truth about him. That he’s actually a hero and not a menace.”
“That’s right, Steve. I knew him before… Well, he’s a ghost. You know what before implies. He was there for me when I first became Robin. Now I want to be there for him when he’s dealing with similar struggles.”
“That’s not what any of the experts believe.”
Conner snorted. “The so-called experts in this town want to completely destroy any and all ghosts. Don’t think they’re unbiased.”
Bart nodded. “Yeah. We may not have known Phantom as long as Robin, here. But he’s a good guy. Helped us out when we got stranded here.”
“Stranded, eh? Mind if I ask you more about that on air?”
Tim laughed. “You can ask whatever you like. But I can’t guarantee we’ll answer everything. Secret missions and all that, you understand.”
Steve sighed theatrically. “It was worth a shot. Now, we’ll be going live in about five minutes and we’ll have three segments of eight minutes separated by two minute ad breaks. For a total of thirty minutes in the studio. Anything in particular you want me to ask?”
Tim pulled a sheet of paper out of his utility belt. “I wrote some down, if you don’t mind. They should be engaging and broad enough to please your audience and personal curiosity.”
“I won’t ask only from this list, you understand,” said Steve as he took it.
“Of course not. The first three are ones I do request that you ask, however. Beyond those, they’re just suggestions.”
Steve skimmed the list and nodded. “I can work with this.”
Beyond the window, the sound technician made a signal.
“All right, everyone. That’s the one minute mark. Let me introduce you before you say anything, capiche?”
Tim gave a thumbs up and the others added their assent.
The “on air” light turned on and Steve spoke in a voice much more performative than the one he’d been using. “Good Morning, Amity Park! This is Steve Boyce here to help you bring in the day. How are you early birds doing? Have I got a treat for you today! So last night I got absolutely no sleep because at nine thirty, shortly after our newly implemented curfew, I got a surprise email. From no other than the heroes who helped us out the other night when we were attacked! That’s right! The one and only Robin from Gotham emailed my and asked to come on my small, local show. So he and the Teen Titans are here with me. Let’s give them a warm Amity welcome, what do you say?”
Cassie laughed. “Thanks for that introduction, Steve. I’m Wonder Girl and I’d like to clarify one point. The former Teen Titans have kept the name Titans even if they’re no longer Teens. So we’ve decided to go by a new name.”
Bart nodded. “Yep. We’re the Young Justice now.”
Steve laughed. “Looks like I’ve already put my foot in it. Let me correct myself, let’s give the Young Justice a warm Amity welcome.”
Tim put on the happy gala voice his parents had drilled into him. “Not at all! It’s a new change and we’ve never really operated out here before. Even back home in San Francisco or Gotham we get called the Teen Titans more often than not. We’re just on a crusade to get the name change to stick.”
“Well I’m sure all of my listeners will be sure to get it right going forward. Now, let’s get down to business. We’re all thrilled that you were around to help us out the other night, but what brought you to Amity to begin with? Mayor Montez has publicly stated he never even had a chance to reach out for help before you were on the scene.”
“That was all Robin’s doing,” said Conner. “He’s friends with Phantom, you know.”
“Yep,” agreed Tim. “We were in the area when our transport broke down. Impulse figured out where we were and I knew of Amity due to my friendship with Phantom. Since we weren’t on a time limit, we decided to pop into town for a visit. Imagine our surprise when our very first evening here, we experienced a ghost invasion!”
Cassie laughed. “Oh, come on, Rob. With our lives, it really wasn’t that surprising.”
“Yeah,” said Bart. “We’ve totally had weirder things happen to us.”
Steve leaned forward and pitched his tone lower as if conspiring with them. “Well, I’ll definitely be asking for some of the details on what those might’ve been later. But first, I have to ask. Robin, how did you meet Phantom? He’s that ghost in the black-and-white jumpsuit, right? As far as I know, he’s only ever been seen in Amity. And you’ve certainly never been here before.”
Tim took a breath, this was the moment. “Yep, that’s him. And, well, it may be strange, but I knew him before he was ever Phantom.”
“Before he was Phantom? Do you mean…” Steve let his voice trail off.
Tim let out a low sigh and closed his eyes. He really had to sell this. “Yeah.” He made sure his voice was rough. “Yeah. I knew him before he died. He was one of my best friends growing up and we’ve known each other for years.”
Conner put a hand on his shoulder. “Rob…”
When even Steve needed a second to figure out how to reply, Tim figured he did a good enough job. “So you know him when he was alive,” Steve said. “Who was he? Where did he live?”
“I’m afraid I can’t answer that,” said Tim. “He was young when he died and his family don’t need people harassing them. They’ve been through a lot. And I know Phantom’s reputation isn’t the best.”
Steve let out another put-upon sigh. “And there you go being reasonable when all I want is the hot gossip. Fine, no questions about who Phantom was. I’m sure you were thrilled when you found out he came back as a ghost, though.”
Tim laughed and was glad Steve was able to change the mood of the interview so quickly without him doing anything. “Oh absolutely. I near about had a heart attack when he called me up out of the blue to say he was a ghost now! This was my first opportunity to visit him since, you know.”
Conner nudged him. “So he brought us along for the ride.”
Steve hummed. “So for the rest of you, this is your first time meeting Phantom?”
“Yep,” said Bart. “I like him. He’s cool.”
“So, Impulse, you think he’s trying to help us. Because it seems like whenever he shows up, things get broken and we have to spend days or weeks and tens of thousands on repairs.”
“Robin knows more about it than I do,” said Bart, “but I guess what let Phantom cross back over to Earth is allowing other ghosts to cross back over. Phantom just wants to spend more time with his living family and friends. The others ghosts…”
“They want more than that,” finished Tim. “Phantom’s explained it to me a bit. They all have something driving them that can only be fulfilled on Earth. And they don’t care what they have to do to satisfy that drive. So Phantom steps in to try and prevent them from causing too much damage or hurting anyone. Then he forces them back to the dimension they come from.”
“In fact,” added Cassie. “We spent all night talking with Phantom and we got his side of the story on several of his fights since he first came to Amity. We’ve written it all up and submitted them to the local paper, so look in the OpEds over the next few days if you want to know the truth.”
“Oh, well now you’ve definitely got me intrigued! I think I will. Anything you'd be willing to share with us now?”
“Do you remember how a month or two ago, a giant robot was seen in Amity?” asked Tim.
“Not something I’m likely to forget!”
Tim laughed. “I’m sure! Well, what you don’t know is that he crossed over to Earth from the Ghost Zone about three or four days before you ever saw him. Phantom kept him from gaining a physical body for days before Technus was able to get past him.”
“Really? So you’re saying that without Phantom, we would’ve been dealing with that robot for a lot longer?”
“Yep.”
Steve asked several more questions about Phantom. Some serious: How does he plan to decrease property damage going forward? We’re coaching him on how to move a fight and deescalate conflict. And some light hearted: So I heard he’s a dog person? Oh, absolutely. A ghost dog adopted him a few weeks ago.
Then the questions turned more personal as he moved on from Phantom and asked about their lives and exploits. And before they knew it, the interview was over.
“Thanks for reaching out,” Steve said as soon as they left the recording studio. “You are by far the biggest guests I’ve ever had on.”
“Thanks for agreeing to have us on so last minute,” said Tim.
“How could I possibly say no?”

Next
Hope you enjoyed the interview! I probably won't go into detail for the TV one since it'd just be rehashing the same information.
I no longer do tag lists, but I do have a Subscription Post if you want to be notified of updates.
#dpxdc#tim excels at interviews#his parents trained him for it from the cradle#and the rest have done them before#and they actually care about making danny look good#so theyre gonna behave#steve didnt sleep a wink before this interview#he got the email and was half convinced it was a prank#had a backup show planned and everything#the staff totally made copies of this show#and everyone took home a tape#(management turned a blind eye though thats usually discouraged)

I've been feeling airless again so often lately this is like the worst bout ever.. there's no blood or bones in my limbs rn it's so cold and weak in there. I slept 21/24 hours in one day earlier this month (and then went back to sleep 3 hours later after all of that for another 8.5 hours) and I could barely get up this morning even though yesterday I slept through the whole day for 12 hours, woke up around 9:30pm, and then went back to bed like 5 hours later for another 6 or 7 hours. not nearly as bad as earlier this month km looking at my planner shocked rn that I got 21 hours of sleep snd then went back to bed for over 8 hours after being awake only 3 hours help. I would be asleep rn if it weren't for the vyvanse I took earlier whuch I've only taken adderall/vyvanse 5 times this month which is like my usual average and I like don't think that's why and I still get plenty of sleep on those days lately and haven't been deprived at all soyeah.. I had a bad nightmare last night that exotic pet owners infested our house with their assortment of zoo animals and there was a bear (who turned out to be a shape shifting butler who mauled someone for this sick game he was helping trap us in...) and a lion (girl lion) who was outside in the backyard while someone let my dog out and I thiught she died but she lived and the lion didn't eat her even a little. so that was quite an intense and stressful dream but I actually haven't been having many nightmares lately when I used to get them daily like they actually went away after I moved out of my dad's house isn't that crazy so I guess I really did have dreams about hiding and running from a killer because he made me run and hide from him even though he was only the killer in like 5% of my dreams isnr it crazy how the mind works. but yeah I'm super tired and sleepy and weak these days I've been trying to walk more since it gives me energy to walk for a couple hours but a lot of days I'm too tired even for that becsuse I just don't wake up so yeah ..

Moonlight Beta: Chapter 6 - Burn Alive... Almost
Series Masterlist
Chapter 5, Chapter 7
Pairing: Scott McCall x Fem!Liam Dunbar
Please comment, like and share
Sleep wasn't Lia's friend anymore, not since the Berserker fight. Those things, those creatures haunted Lia every second they could. So, instead of going back to sleep, she texted Scott and asked if she could come over, which she received a yes for an answer.
Ever since he died and had those awful nightmares involving Lia, he felt extra protective of her, scared that she might die like she did in his mind. With her around him, he felt better knowing she was there beside him, alive.
"How's Kira's Mom?" Lia asked as she sat on Scott's bed with him. "She was taken to a hospital in Palo Alto," Scott said, "They put her in a helicopter. But she will be alright, she just doesn't heal like she used to."
"Does this mean..." Lia trailed off. "Kira is leaving for a couple of days, yeah," Scott said. "She needs to be there for her mother, especially if she's still on the list." He sighed and laid his head on the pillow, "And, I actually have to go back to the hospital too. They want to do a bunch of tests since I was kind of officially dead."
Lia scoffed, "Yeah, I figure my Dad has a lot of questions to you." Scott nodded, "Yeah."
Lia looked down at her hands, "I just wish it had all worked." Scott frowned and sat back up, "Yeah, I've been thinking about that too. And actually, I think maybe it did work. Not that I know exactly who The Benefactor is but we might know a lot more about him now."
Lia frowned as they faced each other, "But no one came. And no one got visual confirmation, right?"
"That's why it might have worked," Scott said, "Remember what I told you about everyone in our pack? Think about it. Who has the power to know when someone's dead, but doesn't need to see the body to know it happened?" Lia thought for a moment with a frown and then looked at Scott,
"A Banshee."
Scott smiled softly at her.
--------
Another night, and Lia was tossing and turning because she couldn't sleep. As she did so, a familiar noise made her stop and sit up.
Now fully awake, she noticed her printer was on. The girl got out of her bed and walked quietly over to see that it was printing something. It was the Deadpool and it had names crossed off of it.
"What the hell?" She muttered to herself as it kept trying to print. She tried pressing the off-button but it kept on printing until she finally unplugged it.
--------
The next morning seemed like hell for Lia as she walked down the halls of the school. Her paranoia was increased and the laughter of the students in the hallway was so overwhelming until Mason greeted her, Lia's focus then finally having something productive to shift to.
"Hey," he said, "Am I gonna see you at the bonfire tonight? Or are you gonna be busy with lacrosse team things?"
Lia frowned, forgetting that they had the bonfire party coming up. With all the supernatural crap going on, she was too tired to do anything else.
"Uh, I'm thinking about skipping," she admitted sheepishly.
"You're not skipping," Mason told her.
"Why not?" Lia asked. "Because you're on the lacrosse team," Mason answered, "Don't you have to go?"
Lia looked nervous. "I don't, uh..." The girl suddenly froze when she started to hallucinate a Berserker in the school. Whether it was from lack of sleep or trauma, she didn't know. Either way, she was hallucinating one standing right in the middle of the hallway.
"I--I don't think I can make it," she lied, grateful that Mason couldn't hear her heartbeat.
"You're coming," Mason said, "We're gonna find you a nice boy--or a nice girl that you can embarrass yourself in front of and find me a lacrosse player. Because statistically speaking, someone on your team has gotta be on my team. Alright?" While Mason was rambling, the Berserker seemed to be getting closer.
"Lia?" Him calling out her name seemed to snap her out of the trance. "Yeah, I'll be there," she spoke quickly before running off, hoping to get away from the beast-like creature.
--------
The entire lacrosse team was in the boys' locker room, including Lia since no one was actually getting changed and it was just a team meeting.
Coach walked in, "All right. Now, I know the start of the season bonfire, it's a big deal for you guys. I also know it gets out of hand sometimes. The alumni show up, there's other teams, and alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol." The team, aside from Lia and Scott, cheered.
Scott had his eyes stuck on his Beta. She wasn't paying much attention, her eyes were looking down at her shoes. She smelt of sadness and fear, something Scott wasn't used to smelling on her.
"All right, shut up," Coach said, "Now, what I don't understand is why anybody would ever want to get stumbling down drunk in front of a massive open fire. I'm also resigned to not being able to stop you guys." The team, aside from Lia and Scott, cheered. "I also remind you, your team captain, McCall, will be there. And I can count on him to narc on any and every one of these little bastards. Get back to class."
Everyone scrambled off after Coach's speech and Scott lost Lia in the small crowd. He took a deep breath, following her scent to the stairwell.
Lia was sitting on the stairs since everyone else was back in class, fiddling with her lacrosse stick. She flinched slightly when she heard someone getting close, but relaxed slightly when she realized it was only Scott.
"Hey," Scott said softly as he sat on the step behind her and put his hand on her shoulder comfortingly.
"You okay?" he asked. Lia shrugged and looked down at her feet. Scott frowned in confusion, "Lia, hey, you can tell me anything. You know that right?"
The girl sighed softly and spoke, "Last night, my printer went off by itself. I couldn't turn it off. I hit the cancel button, but it just kept printing."
"Printing what?" Scott asked. Lia took the list out of her pocket and gave it to Scott.
Before he could read it, the two heard Coach yelling. They ran over to his office to see papers among papers being printed out like crazy. "What the hell is this?" he asked as Scott picked a paper up.
"You see the difference?" Lia asked.
"Derek's not on the list anymore," Scott answered, and Lia wasn't worth 3 million anymore, she was now worth 18 million dollars.
"I don't know if I want to feel special or terrified," Lia muttered as Scott looked from the girl to the papers.
--------
Mason dragged his best friend out, despite her not wanting to go to the bonfire party. Her father urged her to go out and have fun, while her mother was hesitant on letting her go out to a party that would most likely result in drinking.
Mason has practically made her his Barbie doll, dressing her up in a semi-casual black dress. It was something Lia couldn't see herself ever wearing again. To feel less naked, she wore Scott's lacrosse zip-up sweatshirt.
Lia, despite knowing that she couldn't get drunk because of her healing abilities, decided to drink anyway and was pleasantly surprised when she started to feel a bit buzzed.
"Hey, I wanted to ask, what's your relationship with Scott McCall?" Mason suddenly asked. "Oh, you know, we just became friends after the tryouts," Lia answered.
"Is that Scott's sweatshirt?" Mason asked with a small smirk. Lia looked down at herself before back at him in hesitation, "Yeah... is that bad?" Mason shook his head, letting out a soft chuckle.
His smile disappeared as he watched her take another sip. "Not gonna tell me to slow down right?" she asked when she noticed him giving her a confused look when she chugged down a whole flask of captain. A smile was on her lips, something that she had been lacking since the Berserker incident.
"Actually, I was gonna say keep drinking," Mason said, "I think you should get drunk. And I mean stumbling down, fall on your ass, passed out with your face in the toilet drunk."
Lia couldn't help but giggle, "Why?"
This was when it got serious.
"Maybe then when I ask you what's going on, you'll be too drunk to lie," he answered.
Lia's happy smile fell, guilt consuming her for keeping him in the dark and worried about her. "I'm not asking this because I want to know," he said, "I'm asking because I want to help. Are you seriously okay?"
Lia didn't notice that Scott had shown up, he was too looking over along with Malia with a sense of worry.
"I'm getting another drink. Yeah. I'm getting drunk."
--------
It was not long after that she felt drunk, like stumbling drunk. Scott and Mason had both Malia and Lia sit down, both girls intoxicated despite their massive healing abilities that would've prevented this.
"How much has she had to drink?" Scott asked Mason. "Not enough to get her like this," Mason answered, knowing he's seen Lia drink more than that and not be this affected before.
"Something's happening. We need to get them out of here. I think we're gonna have to, uhm..." Scott was cut off as his vision got blurry.
"How much did you drink?" Mason swore everyone here were literally alcoholics.
"Nothing, not even a sip," Scott answered and then realized it was the music, just like the hunters from Mexico had done to them. "It's not the drinks. It's the music. I have to… I have to turn off the music. Don't let them out of your sight." Mason nodded, and watched Scott walking away, stumbling a little along the way.
Mason turned back to Lia and handed her a bottle of water, "Hey, drink some water." Lia took it, "Mase, I don't feel so well."
"Yeah, I get it, you--you'll be okay," Mason said and turned back to check for Scott. A few seconds after, two guards walked closer and each grabbed Lia and Malia by the arms.
"Let's go," Guard 1 told them, starting to pull Lia up by one arm, and the girl didn't even fight back.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Mason asked. "These are my friends."
Guard 1 turned to Mason, putting a hand on his chest. "Your friends are overly intoxicated. They need to be escorted out."
"Okay, I'll go with them," Mason told them.
"That won't be necessary," Guard 1 told him, turning back to Lia.
"I said they're my friends--" Mason started forcefully, but the guard pushed him down to the ground.
Two guys went to help him up. "You okay, man?" Guy 1 asked, and he nodded. He looked back to the guards as they took Lia and Malia away.
The assassins dressed like security guards dragged Scott, Malia and Lia inside, placing them on the floor, leaned them against the lockers, and started dousing them with gasoline.
Scott was the only one conscious at this time, "What is that? What are you doing?"
The guy smirked, "It's gasoline. Haigh says we gotta burn you. It's too bad though, your girl is pretty hot," he said, gesturing to Lia.
Scott growled, his eyes turning red in protectiveness over his beta who was clearly underaged compared to this man. "Oh, shut up," the man scowled, dousing them with more gasoline.
Malia and Lia gained consciousness when they felt the gasoline on their skin. Scott was hoping that Mason would pull through and get the music shut off even though he didn't know why it was affecting them.
And luckily for the three, he did.
Scott was able to recover easily due to his status as True Alpha. Scott grabbed Guard/Assassin 1's hand, closing the lighter, squeezing his hand until it broke, making him groan in pain. Scott punched him in the face hard, making him fall unconscious.
The other hunters were taken care of when Derek and Braeden came in, fighting hand-to-hand combat with them. Though, it was mostly Braeden since Derek was a bit new to fighting without werewolf powers.
Malia and Lia helped each other up, subconsciously leaning on each other in support. Malia could tell the girl was shaken up, and although she didn't know how to comfort people very well yet, she let the girl hold onto her arm.
"What happened to the gun?" Scott questioned Derek as he got up. "You're covered in gasoline," Derek pointed out the obvious.
"Oh, yeah," Scott muttered and then he turned his attention to the girls. Malia had her arm wrapped around the youngest beta protectively even though the danger has now passed, and she nodded to Scott that they both were alright.

Promise
The strong sandy wind of the desert, the smell of blood and the pure panic of the nonary and the decision game still remained on Junpei's mind, 2 months have passed and he's still there. The voice of Zero echoing in his mind, all variations of him. As soon as he closed his eyes, he was there in the lounge, in the deck and so on.
He turned around, the bed making a creaking sound. The clock hit 6 AM on the dot, with barely any sleep he decided to get up.
After a trip to the bathroom and a quick session of putting his clothes on, he found himself in the relatively cramped kitchen.
The whole place was a mess, he has never cleaned it up ever since he got the place. With the coffee brewing he tapped on the countertop, staring outside from the window in front of him.
Could the religious freak be really real, he thought to himself. Was it a ploy to get Carlos to set Delta free? His detective gut said otherwise, he firmly believed the existence of this person.
His train of thought was disturbed by the doorbell. Considering that it was barely 7 AM at this point, he was hesitant to pick up the door. Who would even visit at this hour?
Junpei rapidly moved himself to the door, clasping the door knob firmly, readying himself to any type of horror that might come his way.
Soon he opened the door to find Akane, smiling wide. She held up a small brown paper bag, "Good Morning!" she said chipper.
"Oh, Akane.." Junpei took a breath as he stepped away to let Akane in as she welcomed herself in.
"What are you doing here at this hour? How did you even know I would be awake?" A small smile curled up on Junpei's lips as he crossed his arms.
"A little birdie told me" She smiled as she walked over to put the small bag and takeout a bagel from it "C'mon, I got these for you!"
Junpei took a bagel from the bag and took a bite of the bagel he held.
Akane frowned "Jumpy, have you gotten any sleep?"
"No, how could I?" Junpei chewed the bite.
Akane didn't respond.
Momentarily there was silence, Akane's expression turned idle "I've been trying to track down the fanatic but no luck so far."
"I..." Junpei got off track as he frowned, gathering his thoughts. "I haven't been digging myself yet, I need to call up the guys for that. I should get to that soon."
Akane nodded "Don't push yourself, you need a break" there was a concerned look on her eyes, Junpei could tell with the way her eyes moistened.
Junpei pulled Akane to a hug, "It's okay, don't worry about me." he whispered.
Akane blushed, "Can't help it." she giggled.
"In the meantime, maybe you and I can spend this day by ourselves?" Junpei said, life came back to his face as he smiled. "An actual date?"
Akane grinned "I wouldn't say no to that."
With that, Akane pulled away from the hug and made her way to the pile of stuff scattered around the sofa a step away.
"I meant like going to a movie or something, not rummaging through my dirty laundry!" Junpei said as he watched in awe as his fiancé started to hastily sort through the spread out items.
"Jumpy, c'mon! This could be fun! We can cook afterwards too!" Akane said chipperly again "Besides, I want to know all the secrets lying around here."
Junpei sighed "Well, you won't find much." He chuckled as he moved closer to the mess to help her.
They started to sort the trash, before moving onto the clothing. Two piles of trash bags stood by the door as they started to go through the clothing.
Suddenly, Akane pulled a pink Calvin Klein boxer that was stuck under a coffee table. She blushed as she tried to figure out the words to comment on this.
"Jumpy... I bet you look good in this." she said, all giggly.
Junpei blushed as he grabbed it from her as fast as he could. "T-Thank you?"
There was that awkward silence as they stared at each other for a few more seconds.
"Well, I say we did a good job." Akane grinned as she looked around the cleaner living room which was the size of an average bathroom in a 2 bedroom apartment.
Junpei smiled, but was interrupted by his own stomach gurgling. He realized he had only eaten a bagel and a cup of coffee this entire day.
Akane tilted her head slightly as she turned to Junpei, "Are you hungry?" she asked.
"Yeah." Junpei replied as he made his way to the fridge to see it completely empty.
"It's okay, Jumpy! Let's go grocery shopping!" Akane held Junpei's hand as she dragged him outside.
They went to the nearest market and Junpei filled the cart with things Akane told him to get, and it didn't take them long to pay and get back home.
Akane seemed to be in a rush of excitement as she started cooking rather quickly.
Junpei was still restocking the fridge when he asked. "So, what are we cooking?"
"It's a secret Kurashiki recipe." Akane beamed but halted and the smile disappeared "Aoi used to cook this so well, he taught it to me"
"He must be a great cook, huh?" Junpei asked with an idle expression.
"Yeah, he is." Akane sighed as the water boiled in the pan.
"Are you guys not on good terms?" Junpei hesitantly questioned since he remembered the time he last asked about Aoi and got no response.
"No, we are." Akane grinned, "I was just reminiscing."
Junpei smiled back. "Alright, I'm done with the fridge stuff. What else can I do?"
"Can you slice these for me?" She pointed to the light bag of vegetables.
Junpei grabbed the bag and washed the vegetables, there was a moment of silence again as he started to slice them in silence. In the meanwhile, he was trying to find something to say.
All he could do was stare at Akane, his Kanny as she cooked.
Everything felt so normal, even if it's for a moment. The tragedies of the past, all the timelines he abandoned almost disappeared. Like this was how everything should've been, or has been.
But it wasn't, and the tragedies won't go away. The religious fanatic won't go away in this simple moment.
He sighed, trying to savor the moment. He feared that this wouldn't last long.
"Hey, Jumpy are you okay? You're going to cut yourself" Akane intervened, disturbing Junpei's spiral. "Here, let me help you." She said as she grabbed another knife and started to slice another vegetable on the crowded cutting board. "You don't have to take it too hard, you're allowed to take a break, y'know? You've been through hell"
"As if you haven't?" Junpei responded cynically.
"This isn't about me." Akane frowned. "I dragged you in this"
"No, not really. I'd choose this in any timeline." Junpei looked down on the cutting board and back up at Akane, "I'd put everything on the line for you at every timeline."
Akane blushed. "I know that but I worry about you."
"You don't have to, I promise." Junpei said.
Akane dropped the knife lightly and wrapped her arms around Junpei.
"Jumpy..." Akane buried her face on Junpei's shoulder, Junpei could feel her warm cheeks. "I love you."
Junpei smiled, "I love you too, Kanny."
They stood in the same spot for a while as Akane held Junpei. Then they went back to cooking, the air got more lighthearted as they goofed around and laughed while they finished up the Kurashiki secret recipe.
Junpei set up the table, which was pretty modest since there wasn't much to set up. He pulled back one of the chairs, "Here you go, m'lady."
Akane giggled, "Oh, I can get used to this."
Junpei chuckled as a response while he did a little sprint to his own chair.
They were silent for the majority of the meal, it was the most peaceful silence for the longest time ever. Junpei realised how good of a cook Akane was, which made him wonder about all the sorrow and difficulties she must've faced along with her brother after losing their parents at a young age.
Of course, Akane never mentioned it in primary school but he couldn't help but wonder.
Soon they had already washed the dishes and were lounging on the sofa, arguing on what to watch.
Akane wavered the copy of Titanic, the 1997 version directed by James Cameron in her hands as she pouted "Come on, it's very good!"
"Don't get me wrong but I'd rather not watch anything with ships or Titanic for a very long while." Junpei crossed his arms.
"Okay, what do you want to watch then?"
"I don't know, something lighthearted? A comedy maybe?" Junpei suggested.
"Hmmm…" Akane put her pointer finger on her chin. "I don't know if I know any, though I wouldn't mind it."
Junpei tried to think of something as well but he was also behind the movie scene as he wasn't much of a movie person recently because of how busy he has been.
"Y'know what? Trashy reality TV is always good." Akane grabbed the remote and started to browse the channels.
Junpei shrugged as he put an arm around Akane as they landed on some stupid show about construction.
A few hours passed after they had lazily browsed through one show to another, Junpei laid down on Akane's lap, almost asleep.
Akane brushed through Junpei's hair gently when she suddenly said "I want to buy a European Castle. I heard they're relatively cheap, maybe I can swing one." she stopped as Junpei opened his eyes
"Why? Where did that come from?" Junpei grinned tiredly.
Akane shrugged. "Wouldn't it be fun? We can play king and queen."
Junpei chuckled "It would, you'd rock as a queen."
Akane blushed then let out a heartfelt laugh. Her hands went back to brushing Junpei's hair.
Junpei closed his eyes as he stretched his legs. "I'm so tired."
"Go ahead and sleep, I'll be here. I promise" Akane said softly as Junpei surrendered himself to sleep, the most peaceful one he had in a long while.

Craig Tucker x Fem!reader
💌 Craig Tucker is a mother fucker: Chapter 6 💌
Summary: You want to say that it wasn't your fault buuuuuut it kinda was. You didn't think much of it as you casted your joke vote for the "Hottest guy in school" and in hindsight you should never listen to Clyde but it was pretty funny at the time. Craig just wanted a peaceful junior year and you can't blame him for that however waking up the morning after a party, in his bed, being told that you two were dating wasn't exactly your definition of peaceful either.
Notes: I was always too scared of the fandom to post it back in the day but I wrote this before Creek was made canon so let's just say Craig is bi for my sake because I've had a huge crush on him since forever. My S/O pointed out that Craig is just Trafalgar Law but with a guinea pig instead of a polar bear and I haven't been the same since I have a type and it's them.
💌 Word count: 3,476 💌 <= Previous | Chapter 7 =>
You ended up staying over at Craig's for a bit. It's not like you could go home anyways. You completely forgot that Bebe still had your keys. It was the weekend and it's not like you had anything important to do but it was awkward. Craig didn't care one way or the other. He was on his phone still laying in bed. Neither of you made any effort to get dressed either. You're not quite sure how you felt about that but it wasn't like he was eyeing you up or anything. Actually he probably didn't care about that either considering you've been like this since last night. You should message Bebe so you could get your keys back but you then you'd have to indulge in her fantasy about you and Craig and you didn't want to give her any ideas about what could have happened last night. What were you even going to tell her no matter what she's going to think you boned. You open up your messages and stare at the screen. Before you could start typing Craig's phone rings and he picks it up.
"Yeah....nothing, still in bed....she's awake...." He looked over at you and mouthed "Clyde" you mouth back "Ah"
"What time?....Okay, later." he ended the call and tossed his phone back on his bed as he stood up and stretched. "Bebe's still asleep so there's no rush but Clyde wants to go to Tweeks bros to get coffee for his hangover. Do you want to take a shower first or should I?" you sat up to think about it as you snickered to yourself for what you were about to say "Or you could take a shower with me." you wink at him biting your lip. He leans down lifting your chin so you were staring him in the eyes "Don't test me, I might just call your bluff?" you laughed and pushed his hand away "Pfft okay fine you got me. I'll go first then." he turned around to get you a change of clothes "That's what I thought." he sounded too smug and you crossed your arms as he tossed you a shirt. It was a black NASA shirt. "That's the smallest shirt I think I have. Pants I think you're better off wearing what you wore last night." you unfolded the shirt, it was a little big still but it was fine. "I'm fine with just the shirt." you'd rather not have to wear your crop top in broad daylight. He lead you into the bathroom and showed you how the shower worked. He handed you a towel "Oh and try not to fall."
"Oh haha" you stuck your tongue at him as he left. You looked in the mirror before you took your shower, "Oof" you forgot that Wendy and Bebe did your make up yesterday. You looked like a trash panda, you know a raccoon. You looked through the cabinet. Tricia must have make up wipes somewhere.
Some time later you finished your shower and got changed. You walked back into Craig's room "Well it's about time they're already at Tweeks." he grabbed his clothes and left. You looked at your phone it was dying but you could see that Bebe had sent you a few more messages. Unfortunately when you tried to click on them your phone died. You looked around Craig's room. On his desk there was a black book it kind of looked like a journal. You stand hovering your hand over the book contemplating breaching his privacy. You sighed you probably shouldn't touch anything but you wanted too. You were bored leaving the book where it was and made the bed instead. After you were done Craig came back to get you. "Did you seriously make the bed?"
"My phone died okay, what else was I supposed to do." he only shrugged as you both went downstairs and put your shoes on. Craig locked the door and turned to you he offered you his hand and you quirked an eyebrow. "I can walk just fine you know."
"Yeah no shit." he grabbed your hand anyways and pulled you along "Dating, remember? Or is someone afraid of being seen holding hands" you walked a little faster "As if! Just keep up with me." this was ridiculous and you couldn't help but smile just what were your friends going to think. As soon as he caught up to the pace that you were walking at you pushed a little more eventually you both were running making it a contest to see who touch the door first. All the while still holding hands you both burst through the door panting out of breathe. Craig lightly squeezed your hand. "I.... win... two, one....Your move atheist."
"Go...Fuck... yourself..."
"Fuck me yourself, you coward." you glared at him for a bit before turning away to find where Bebe and Clyde were. Everyone in Tweek bros looked over in your direction as you made your way over to their table.
"Are you guys okay?" Clyde asked as Craig let go of your hand and grabbed what he assumed was his iced chai tea latte. You caught your breath and sat down next to Craig "Actually-" You were about to say something else when Craig put the straw from his drink in your mouth. You took a sip but instantly regretted it. "Sweet jesus, how can you drink that?"
"Excuse you, it's Christmas in a cup and it's fucken delicious."
"Yeah if you like the taste of burnt pumpkin pie covered in pure sugar." you spat back sticking your tongue out trying to get the taste out of your mouth. Craig put his arm around you "What can I say I have a sweet tooth." he winked at you and you rolled your eyes smirking "And I don't."
"Well yeah, you're dating me." you both looked at Bebe and Clyde. Neither of you planned this it just happened that way. Clyde almost dropped his drink and Bebe lit up clapping her hands together "I knew it, I knew it! You guys, I'm so happy for you!" She got up to hug you "Sooooo did you guys-"
"Bebe no." you tried to push her off as she continued to wiggle her eyebrows at you while Clyde laughed "I was thinking it was about goddamn time. I thought I'd have to slip Craig a few drinks to make it happen but turns out only one of you needed to be drunk." It was no use, they were going to think it regardless of your protest. You looked to Craig for help with the situation but he continued to drink his abomination of a drink. That's when you remembered the real reason why you were here "Oh yeah Bebe, can I have my keys back now?"
---
Monday rolled around relatively fast. You were nervous, this was it, the big reveal. It was driving you crazy. Craig didn't give you any guidelines only said anything goes. Like what the fuck did that mean? In hindsight drunk you had no idea what they'd be getting you into. You were just about ready to leave when your phone rang. You looked at the caller ID and it was "<3" you scrunch your eyebrows together. When did you do that? You picked up "Why are you a heart in my phone, did you do that?" Craig didn't answer your question he only said to come downstairs. Whatever it didn't matter anyways you knew who it was. Craig technically had his license but he wanted to walk with you to school, probably to hold hands again. It was a very low effort way to get people to see you were dating. You came downstairs and locked the door.
Craig yawned as he extended his hand to grab yours. "You doing alright?" you both walked at a normal pace this time. The walk to school wasn't terribly long but you'd rather not end up making as big of an entrance as last time. "Clyde kept me up all night. He's way too invested in my personal life." Bebe was the same way with you but now she can't complain about it not. You did your task, you got a boyfriend what else could she project onto you. As you both made you way into school just like before people were staring and muttering to themselves. You forgot just how weird it was to have everyone's eyes on you. You didn't like it but if this was the last time it would happen then you would have dated Craig a long time ago.
Craig gave your hand one more squeeze as you both sat down. You almost forgot that you guys were holding hands. It felt strangely comfortable to be holding his hand. You took one last look at Craig and he pointed to the front. You think this is the first time that you paid any attention to class. You stretched and the bell rang as Mr. Garrison was just finishing up with class. Craig was already waiting for you at the door offering his hand once more. You took it smiling awkwardly as you heard the comments from your peers. You walked to your next class trying to ignore all the comments. You almost forgot there was a recording of you from Clyde's party that someone took. You should really watch it just to see how bad it was. You were about to pull out your phone when Craig suddenly pushed you against a locker.
"Um ow! Warn me next time you try to Kabe-Don me!" He leaned in to you slightly embarrassed "I saw Lola and I panicked okay, just act natural." you tried not to laugh but couldn't help it you've never seen him so jumpy before. Admittedly it was weird to think that the sarcastic asshole you knew disliked confrontation this much. You're not sure if you should want to thank Lola for breaking Craig or curse her for taking what was supposed to be your job. Never the less you should probably do something about this.
"As if this is natural?" You giggle glancing around trying to see where Lola was. She was walking in towards you looking in your direction. You grinned when she made eye contact with you.
PERFECT
You grabbed the little flaps on Craig's hat to pull him closer kissing him on the cheek, keeping eye contact with Lola the whole time. The flaps covered just enough of your faces to make it look like you were actually kissing. She quickly averted her eyes elsewhere and accidentally bumping into a few people as she walked away. You heard whistling and a hand appeared on Craig's shoulder.
"And here I thought you hated PDA?" it was Clyde and Bebe. She gave you a thumbs up and you end up blushing as she wiggles her eyebrows at you.
"Shut up!" Craig said hiding his face as you all walked into class. "Hey, I'm not saying it's a bad thing." he paused trying to find the right words "It's just unexpected." you all sat down and Craig sighed "Whatever." Still hiding his face from you.
The bell rang and you started class. The teacher passed out a few papers with a list of different types of people and objects. Basically you had to determine the most optimal team in an emergency situation with two different scenarios. The first example was an airplane crash in Alaska and you have to determine whether you left the crash site and what you would take from the list of supplies. You could only pick 10 out of 20. The next situation was, if you were in a post-apocalyptic event which occupation would benefit you more on your team. Needless to say you all got into an argument over what to choose. Clyde really wanted that chocolate bar but Craig vetoed it. In the end when the class was told how well they would do in each situation and based on your groups choices, you guys placed 3rd likely to survive the plane crash but 1st in the post apocalyptic crisis.
Class finished and you once again walked through the halls holding Craig's hand. As you got closer to your math class you saw Stan walk over to you. You instinctively dropped Craig's hand as he approached. It was unintentional but Craig noticed, making it a point to grab your hand again holding it tightly so you couldn't let go.
"I heard you guys are actually dating now, congrats." you struggled against Craig's grip but tried to play it off. You tried "I--uh-- We--" you were really bad at playing it off but Stan didn't seem to notice. Craig pulled you in closer patting your head with a soft smile "(Y/n)'s still embarrassed to bring it up but were official."
You, He, WHAT?!
You death gripped Craig's hand as your face turns red. Stan looks at you in awe and smiles "Hey at least that's cute, (Y/n) you should have seen me in fourth grade I used to throw up every time I tried to talk to Wendy." Craig smirked clearly enjoying getting to tease you "See honey it could be worse." You honestly could not believe what is happening right now.
"Can we just go sit down already? We're kinda blocking the doorway." It was abrupt but you wanted to drop the conversation, you basically dragged Craig over to your desk. You flail your hand around trying to get him to let go but it didn't work. "Come on class is about to start." you struggled against his grip once more "But you're being so cute right now."
You, He, WHY?!
Your face flushed and forced yourself to smile while you grit your teeth. "Honey, please go sit the fuck down." He snickered at you ruffling your hair before going to sit down. You plopped down in your chair putting your head down as you pull out your composition book. Almost instantly a note falls on your desk. You turn to see Craig return to his stoic uninterested face as he motions for you to read the note.
*Look at your phone*
You put your phone in your lap and see you have a message from Craig.
-<3-
10:43- It was Marsh, wasn't it? The one you had a crush on.
You ignored the message for now, putting your phone in your pocket. You felt it vibrate once more and you glanced back at Craig. He was looking at his phone but he noticed you staring and winked at you.
The bell rang so you didn't bother looking at the second message. This class was mostly review for your upcoming test. You tried to pay attention but ended up replaying the events that happened before class in your head. God Craig made you look and feel like an idiot and you couldn't stand giving him the satisfaction. You looked back over at him again. He called you cute and it pissed you off but you have to not let it get to you. You were supposed to be the one driving him crazy, not the other way around. That's right, get it together you agreed to this because you purposely wanted to get on his nerves. If he wanted to play sugar honey bunches of oats then damn it you were going to give him diabetes!
As class ended you mentally prepared yourself for your greatest acting debut yet. You bounced over to Craig's desk smiling as you extended your hand to him. He quirked an eyebrow at you but grabbed your hand anyways "So I was right?" you nodded cuddling up into his arms as you both made your way to the cafeteria. You felt him tense for a moment which made you smile brightly as you tried to sound as sweet as possible "Yes honey, but it doesn't matter anym-" you were taken off guard as Craig shoved you into the janitor's closet.
"Really?! Is this going to be a regular thing with you." You almost tripped over a broom that was on the floor but he held you upright as he continued to panic again.
"Fuck I think she saw us," Craig was looking around for a better place to hide but there wasn't much "Shit." It was dark but the room was small enough to where if someone opened the door you both would be seen. You have no idea why he panics when it concerns Lola, like you know you annoy him but he's never just made it appoint to avoid you. Well not like this anyway and you can't help but feel a little offended that you don't make him have this big of a reaction.
There was a beat before you both heard someone grab for the doorknob. You needed to act fast and Craig was still drawing a blank.
"Fuck it just" you sighed pulling at the collar of his shirt crashing your lips on his. This was the only thing that you could come up with, he didn't exactly give you many options or ideas for that matter. You were going to try to make this look as desperate as possible and hope she buys it. You took off his hat running your fingers through his hair. You feel him tense up at the contact but frantically grasp at you, holding you close trying to follow your lead as the door opens.
"Craig I-" it was Lola she stood there shocked at the scene in front of her. You felt Craig relax into the kiss and it made your stomach flutter as your lips almost melted together.
You both just continued making out in front of her, paying her no mind until she stuttered out a "S-Ssorry!" as she blushed and closed the door. You gave it a few beats before slowly pulling away with half lidded eyes and a string of saliva still connecting you to Craig. Your heart was racing as you caught your breath. Your head was a little fuzzy, Craig was a surprisingly good kisser. You took a moment to untangle yourself from him regaining your composure
"There, now I'm sure she'll leave you alone." you wiped your mouth and looked at Craig he was being awfully quiet. He seemed pretty dazed as well staring at you touching his lips. It was dark enough so that you couldn't tell if his face was red or not. You had no idea what he was thinking but hey he was the one that said anything goes so he couldn't complain.
"Oh come on, I didn't even bite that hard." You joked as you grabbed for the door to open it. You started walking out but noticed Craig stayed where he was. You turned back to him it was weird to see him without his hat on it made you think back to the weekend. You could feel your face heating up. The disheveled look suited him nicely.
"Honey, you coming or what." He was still quiet no snide remarks or clever quips. You think you broke Craig, mission accomplished. He put his hat on and followed you out as you grabbed his hand and gave it a squeeze.
Making your way to the usual table you smiled when Token and Tweek lost their shit. You laughed at their reaction and half expected some sort of sarcastic remark from Craig but it never came. It wasn't like him to zone out like this but no one batted an eye at it. "Maybe he's at his limit for human interaction for the moment?" you think to yourself as you continued with the rest of the day. Lola didn't bother you after that and thank god.
You really wanted to ask Craig what the deal was with her but you shrugged it off. He was still quiet when he walked you to your last class. "Hey, are you okay you've been pretty out of it since lunch?" he didn't look you in the eyes like he has been he just looked off to the side and rubbed his neck "I..." he trailed off and you tilted your head "I'm just tired."
"Ah," you stood on your tippy toes and kissed his forehead "Only one more class, you can make it." you gave him a thumbs up and a dorky grin. He smiled at the floor and waved you off going to his class. You sat down and looked out the window. It was funny to think that a year ago you hated his guts and now you've seen him nearly naked and made out with him. It definitely was not how you expected your junior year to go.

Office AU - part 7! previous chapters here (part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6) Or read it all on A03 here
Mickey woke suddenly the next morning, confused and alarmed at first at the feel of another body in his bed, his hand wrapped around someone's arm. As his brain finally lost some of its fuzziness, he remembered just who was there with him, and couldn't help but smile. He opened his eyes, and found Ian already awake and apparently watching him sleep.
"What are you looking at?" he grumbled, not able to quite get the smile off his face.
"Just the best sight I've woken up to in a long time." came the mushy response, as Ian turned on his side to face Mickey. "Thanks again for letting me stay last night. I probably would have fallen asleep on the train and still been there."
"Sap." Mickey replied. "You can crash here any time, man. This next couple of weeks is going to be exhausting.... maybe you should head home at lunch and get some extra clothes to keep here, just in case?" he couldn't quite meet Ian's eyes as he said that part, not wanting to see what he expected to be confusion or rejection.
Instead, he felt fingers gently stroking his arm, and then softly pulling his chin up to make eye contact. "You're amazing, and that's a great idea. If you're really sure you don't mind?"
"Wouldn't have offered if I minded, Ian. Want to see you as much as I can since the boss is intent on cockblocking us." he had to laugh. "But I guess that means I should like, buy some groceries or something. Pretty sure all I have is half a jar of peanut butter and a couple of pop tarts. Which reminds me, we might have to buy breakfast."
Ian laughed and leaned in and gave him a quick peck on the lips before rolling out of bed. "Guess we should get moving then. Mind if I shower? And... uh... I might need to borrow something to wear?"
"Yeah, of course, go shower. I'll find you something to wear and leave it out for you, but you probably have to wear your pants again." he gestured to Ian's long legs, with a smirk.
Once he heard the water running, he climbed out of bed and went rummaging for clothes for both of them for the day. Laid them out on the bed, found Ian's pants and added them to the pile, and made a snap decision. He stripped out of his boxers and undershirt, and made a dash for the bathroom.
Pulling back the shower curtain, he took in the beautiful sight of a naked, wet Ian Gallagher, before managing to stutter out "um, mind if I join you?"
Ian blinked open his eyes, smiled, and grabbed his hand, pulling him in under the water. They took a minute to admire each other, before crashing together in a heated kiss. Hands roamed, lips and tongues tasted newly exposed skin, and soft moans filled the air as they took each other in hand, finally touching, feeling, and bringing each other to completion under the warm spray. "Fuck..." was all either one of them could say as they leaned against each other, trying to catch their breath. "ok, we gotta actually get clean and get to work now." Mickey said softly.
They finished up, smiling gently at each other, before stepping out and drying each other off. They got dressed and ready in companionable silence, never too far from the other. On the walk to work, they stopped at the closest coffee shop to get muffins and coffee for breakfast, and talked idly about not much of anything as they headed to the office. Just before they got to the doors of their building, Mickey grabbed Ian's hand and pulled him to a stop. "Before we go in there and have to try to behave for the day...." he leaned in to kiss Ian, intending it to be quick and gentle, but not being able to stop.
"I KNEW IT!!" they heard being screeched from half a block away.
Mickey pulled away, sighed, and muttered "Hey Jess" as he turned to face his friend. "Could you maybe chill with the squealing, it's early and we haven't had our coffee yet."
Jess sauntered over, and punched him in the arm. "Fucker. Most of us were asleep on our feet last night, and you somehow ended up bringing the office hottie home with you?"
Mickey just sighed, glanced at Ian, and said "yeah, ok, but can you please try to keep quiet about this for a bit? We know people already think something is going on, we just don't want to like, confirm anything right now. One nosy friend all up in our business is enough."
Jess sniffed, but hugged them both, and linked her arms with them, escorting them into the office, chatting about the dreadful day they had in store.

I want to write right now but my brain is such mush. (ಥ﹏ಥ) I knew it would be, trips always take so much out of me, but it’s so frustrating. I have been running around nonstop since Sunday and damn if it isn’t hitting me like a freight train now.
My husband picked me up at the airport and I ate lunch before immediately passing out for a few hours. And then I managed to get up long enough to shower. And have been trying to stay awake/feel like my brain is still in my head ever since.
I am not the type to just start nodding off, but I did on the flight to NY and back and in my Uber to the airport yesterday. Everything has just been so exhausting.
Thank fuck for noise cancelling headphones, Loop earplugs, fidget toys, and extra anxiety meds because idk how I would have functioned without them. It is WILD how much of a difference using the Loops/noise cancelling headphones makes. I go from wanting to start screaming/crying or wanting to run away to being able to actually function and not feel like I’m dying after. Well, mostly anyway.
I barely slept Sunday night because I procrastinated and was panic packing and then had to get up early (6:20ish) to go to the airport. Then I got to the hotel around 12:30 Monday and even tho I requested an early check in, I didn’t get my room until 2:30. Meanwhile all my coworkers got theirs and abandoned me to just sit in the lobby anxiously looking at my watch while I hoped and prayed I’d be able to get to my room before our first session at 3. Apparently the entire hotel was sold out.
I’d been banking on getting to check in, maybe nap, and hopefully shower and change before the sessions started. Instead I got to check in, change clothes, and then just about sprint to the first session. They told us it was a 5min walk from the hotel to the tower but it was closer to 15. I don’t tolerate heat well so I was sweating buckets by the time I got there.
I didn’t have time to get my actual badge or get my hand scanned for the biometric entry. And even tho they looked me up and knew I was an employee and had a badge waiting for me (had to present my ID), I still needed to have someone in the building to come down and vouch for me? Place was sealed up like damn Fort Knox. I couldn’t get to the lobby without going through security, and even tho i had a temporary employee badge with the floors I needed access to printed on it, I couldn't get on or off any of the floors without someone with an actual badge.
Then we were out until 8pm with our team. Basically got back to the hotel and showered and crashed before having to be back in the lobby by 7:15 the next morning to walk back to the tower. We were in sessions from 7:30 to 5:30pm with barely any time for a bathroom break let alone a break to check on work stuff. I had to spend two of our tiny breaks trying to get my badge, but I finally got it. Then dinner was at 6 and ended after 8. Me and a few of my coworkers walked to the marina and took some photos there. Got back to the hotel around 9. Showered and passed out again.
Then had to check out and be back at the tower with all our stuff before 8am on Wednesday. I took an Uber because I didn't want to drag my heavy ass bookbag and suitcase for a 15min walk. We were in sessions again until almost 3pm. At which point I went straight to the airport. It took almost an hour to get there by Uber, so I was working on my phone the whole time. Got through security and even boarded the plane before they told us our flight was cancelled and we needed to deplane.
I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to fly somewhere so I had no clue how a cancelled flight worked. And flights were getting cancelled all over the city. I stood in a line around 50 people deep to wait for the help desk. They told us to rebook on the app so I stepped out of line and was looking at flights when they finally allowed me to try and rebook. The only other direct flight was Thursday at 7:35pm otherwise I’d have 1-2 layovers for a flight that should only take 2 hours.
Thankfully they made a new flight for us that we were automatically booked for. I got back in the now even longer line to ask about vouchers for food/transportation/lodging per my manager’s instructions. They told us nothing was on offer because the cancellation was due to weather.
So THEN I was scrambling to find a hotel for the night. Along with every other stranded passenger. All the cheaper ones by the airport were full. I’m hoping work will comp me for my hotel last night but am not 100% sure so I didn’t want to book a $500 a night stay closer to the airport. So I booked a hotel in NJ that was 15 miles away. It took an hour to get there by Uber. I checked in around 10 and just dissociated in my room for like an hour lol.
Then I showered and went to bed. Got up at around seven to repack my luggage and get another hour long Uber ride back to the airport. Thank god my flight was on time and everything went smoothly from there and now I’m home again.
I’m mentally and physically exhausted and probably will be for another day or two, which sucks. I hate it takes me so long to recover from stuff like this. BUT THAT’S NOT SELF-COMPASSION. I will be a potato tomorrow and maybe Saturday. Hoping to feel marginally human by Sunday.
BUT. I’m actually really proud of myself for figuring shit out when my flight got cancelled. I don’t travel and I certainly don’t travel alone unless I absolutely have to. But I persevered and got a hotel and got back home in one piece! I didn’t panic! It may have been because I took my extra anxiety meds pre-flight that didn’t happen, but regardless I feel like I did so well given everything that happened! Especially only having been to NYC only once before as part of a high school trip in 2007.
I hadn’t even taken an Uber by myself before this trip! I found the office all by myself the first time! I didn’t even get lost in the process! When I have 100% gotten lost in Raleigh before, which is SO MUCH SMALLER THAN NYC. I survived not one but TWO brand new (to me) airports! And my ADHD and OCD mostly cooperated the whole time! Success after success after success!
Tbh I had a lot more fun than I expected to and it was really nice getting to see my coworkers in person. We’re all virtual and only ever met once before last year in New Orleans, but that was a trip including almost 1k people from our org. This was our first time together with just our team.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE being virtual, but there’s something to be said for seeing colleagues in person too. At least once in a while!
I’ll probably post more about the trip in the days to come as I still process a lot of it, but overall I had a much better time than I expected to!
I also got to meet more of the sales reps I support and it was so funny to have them just yell out customer names I’d helped them with at me when they saw me haha!!! Glad to know I’m making a positive impact! ꉂ (´∀`)ʱªʱªʱª It’s so easy to feel very siloed while being virtual. It was nice getting a reminder that they’re actual people I’ve helped and that they appreciate said help!

685.
1 - Who was the last person to give you a gift? What was the reason for it? Suzanne got me some chocolates as a "thank you" for looking after Charlie for a few days while they went away.
2 - Are you a good cook? If so, who taught you? What’s your favourite thing to cook? I can cook but I don't really enjoy it. My dad actually taught me most of the basics and then I was self-taught for the rest.
3 - When was the last time something in your house broke? Did you manage to fix it or did you need to buy a replacement? The xBox stopped working a while ago but when I tried it yesterday it seemed to be okay. I think it must have just overheated or crashed or something.
4 - Is any part of your body hurting right now? What caused that pain? Yeah, my left hip which always plays up when it's cold and snowy.
5 - Do you have anything exciting planned for the upcoming weekend? It's Sunday now and we have a snow day. Next weekend I have work on Saturday and then it's my birthday on Sunday so we're going out for lunch.
6 - If you could spend two weeks in any city in the world, which city would you pick and why? Tokyo, just because it's somewhere I've always wanted to go and it looks like one of those places where you'll never get bored.
7 - When was the last time you tripped or fell in public? if there was nobody around to see you, did you still feel embarrassed? I skidded on the snow this morning but it was only in the garden. I wasn't embarrassed, just glad I didn't get hurt tbh, haha.
8 - The last time you made a sandwich, what did you put in there? I have no idea, I never really eat sandwiches. I had peanut butter on toast this morning though!
9 - How many hours sleep did you get last night? Was that enough for you or could you have slept for longer? About seven? I woke up wide awake at 6am for no apparent reason.
10 - What’s your favourite time of day? What’s your favourite thing to do at that time? On workdays I love my afternoons. I finish work around 1.30pm, come home, feed the animals, shower and then I have the rest of the day to do what I want. Normally I watch TV, mess around online, play games or sometimes see friends. On weekends I love lazy mornings.
11 - Where did you go the last time you left your house? I haven't been out properly since Friday but I've been out in the garden to play with the dog in the snow a lot.
12 - Are you tired right now? Will you be going to bed anytime soon? I'm kinda tired but I won't be going back to sleep. It's nearly lunchtime so I'll feed the animals after this and then probably make myself something to eat.
13 - How many times a week do you get takeaway coffee, if you get it at all? On average, none lol. It's just too expensive for me to justify on a regular basis. I buy the syrups and stuff and make it at home.
14 - What radio station do you listen to the most? Radio One.
15 - If you eat steak, how do you like it cooked? What sauces or sides do you like to go with it? Rare, and I like it with mushrooms, fries and onion rings. In terms of sauce, I like blue cheese.
16 - Do you prefer sweet or savoury pancakes? What toppings do you have on them? Sweet. Normally I have blueberries, honey and bananas.
17 - Are you someone who cracks their joints a lot? Which one(s) do you tend to crack and click the most? My joints crack whenever I move, haha. Normally my toes, knees, back and neck make the most noise.
18 - Have you ever taken medication or tablets to help you sleep? is this something you do on a regular basis? Yeah, both prescription and herbal ones, but I haven't needed either for a good six months now.
19 - For you, what’s the worst thing about getting up in the morning? What about the worst thing about going to bed tonight? I just hate actually getting out of bed, especially in winter. I'm fine going to bed at night.
20 - Do you prefer regular or diet soft drinks? Diet. I find the regular ones too sweet.
21 - What do you tend to wear if you’re just hanging about the house for the day? Leggings and a hoody at this time of year. In summer normally shorts and a t-shirt.
22 - When was the last time you dyed your hair? Did you do it yourself or get it done at a hairdresser? A couple of years ago. I always do it myself.
23 - Does having to wear a mask stop you doing things? Is this because you struggle wearing one or you just don’t like it? I couldn't wear one because of sensory issues. I have autism and having something covering my mouth and nose makes me nauseous and panicky. I could cope for a few minutes but nothing longer.
24 - Have you ever witnessed a car accident? Or have you perhaps been involved in one yourself? Were you at fault? I've never witnessed one but been involved in a couple - neither were my fault, though.
25 - When was the last time you baked a cake? What cake was it? Years ago. I don't really like baking. I did make bread during lockdown though using one of those kits.
26 - Do you like wearing bows or accessories in your hair? Nope.
27 - How many books do you read in a year? Do you enjoy reading or do you have to really force yourself to sit down and read? I haven't read a book in ages. I never read anymore, I just don't seem to enjoy it in the way I used to.
28 - If you have pets, where did they come from? A breeder, a rescue or maybe a friend who bred their pet? Purrlock is a rescue, Simba and Toby are farm kittens and Archie is from a breeder.
29 - Do you make your bed every morning when you get up? Yeah, every single day. It feels wrong not to make the bed.
30 - When was the last time you got takeaway food? Was it good? Last week, and yeah, it was pretty good.

September 8, 2023
5:33 p.m.
today is friday afternoon. it was a working friday and i was at home, where i worked til a bit after 4.
recap of the last few days: tuesday, 9/5/2023: work, then facetime with kelda. i think i forced myself to eat a carrot and some cauliflower. if i recollect, i think i was feeling pretty bad this day. definitely cried on the phone with kelda. i also had a really bad stomachache since the morning, likely from eating so much Gouda and flaming hot cheetos. i was having trouble discerning between heartache or stomachache. wednesday, 9/6/2023: work in the office. i was very productive, took a few walks, and ate a discounted Ralph's salad for lunch. not sure what i did when i came home but was surprised by an unexpected knock on my door around 7 and it turned out to be none other than AT! i was so so glad to see him. i welcomed him in, we chatted a bit, drank a few beers, i rinsed and cut up some cauliflower and carrots for him, and then we went on a walk around the neighborhood where he admired the beautiful houses and one tree in particular that was quite grandiose i suppose. *NO CRYING.
thursday, 9/7/2023: this was a pretty nothing day. i woke up very tired and for some reason decided to eat a bunch of flaming hot cheetos instead of my usual water/hydration, then coffee, then intermittent fasting until about 10 or 11 a.m. so instead i just was very sleepy all day and was barely able to stay awake and finally knocked out a lunch nap, read a bunch of terrible articles on facebook, then knocked out again around 5, then still managed to sleep around 7/8pm, falling asleep to true crime youtube videos (specifically the channel Coffeehouse Crime.) *NO CRYING.
friday, 9/8/2023 (today): i laid in bed a bit longer than usual, but finally dragged myself out and told myself to make the bed to get this day started right. i'm not sure if it was the making of the bed per se, or if it was whatever mentality i had that pushed me to make the bed in the first place, but for whatever the reason, i was ultra-productive today. i did some work, took out the trash and recycling, washed a few loads of dishes, ran the vacuum a couple times, and spent 50 minutes just generally picking up around the condo. i also reached out to lorena and she ended up swinging by with some delicious chirashi and we caught up for a few minutes, which was really nice. resolved to watch the office, read, walk, and journal after work.
SIGNS OF PROGRESS: ENTERTAINMENT: i started watching "The Office" DVD. i was pretty disappointed with the cringey nature of the first couple episodes of the first season, but it's slowly picking up some momentum. i think i've watched maybe 4 episodes now? i try to watch 1-2 a day. as "therapy" per kelda's suggestion. REFRIGERATOR: this has been gross for some time. i had an old can of black beans that spilled at some point that i only half wiped up then it dried up so there's like this weird dry caked dust on one of the shelves. actually it's still there, but i did go through the fridge for a few minutes and took out some pyrex/tupperware containers that have held long-expired foods like a breakfast sausage, some sort of spinach-like banchan, and really gnarly dduk (rice ovalettes.) this left a lot of extra room so i was able to put in all my costco water bottles and consequently, take them off of the floor.
CAMPBOX: this has effectively been right by my door since late May, but i finally opened it up, and went through it a bit. i took out the dishes and things that could benefit from a wash so that i can wash/dry and put back in the bin, so i can actually put the bin away! i will also have to shake out and refold the tent, but then i can put that away too and there will be a clear space by my door.
BEDROOM: i haven't picked up anything from the floor since late may, and so it hasn't been vacuumed at all. so it's pretty gross. everything is covered with dust and the floor has a lot of my hair. again, i can't run the vacuum because there's just so much stuff still in there like random clothing and camping things, so i finally scooped up an armful of clothes that i figured, clean or not, were probably in need of a clean just from lying on the floor for three months. the floor is not 100% clear but is maybe 20% clearER which is PROGRESS.
DESIRE TO PURCHASE THINGS: i bought a bunch of books on amazon earlier this week. most were recommended reading for breakups/heartache, and one was highly recommended by oppah. i also realized that i was running out of writing paper, so i've spent some time looking for 8.5x11 notebook paper and spiral notebooks, and am shocked to find that they're extremely expensive, that is, like $3-$4, whereas an 8x10 notebook literally costs $0.35. very strange. it's such a shame that i would likely prefer to spend 10x more just to get the size paper that i'm used to, but here we are. lastly, i looked into whether there were any concerts i might enjoy from my favorite musicians, namely lana del rey, the xx, and tegan and sara. surprisingly, tegan and sara had just announced that they were going on a short tour around Ontario (Canada) to play one of their older albums in their entirety and i started wondering whether i should go check them out. i hadn't seen them in years, and could make a trip out of it. it'll take a lot of planning and prepping, as they're playing a bunch of shows in neighborhoods that i'm not familiar with, so i'll have to check out each and see capacity, seating arrangements, proximity to airport, etc. but i hope i will go. i remember in 2009 i went to vancouver to see tegan and sara for the first time and i'll sort of be like that again. a person willing to go see things and travel on my own. a person curious about the world.
LOOKING INTO VOLUNTEERING Places I'm considering: Burbank Animal Shelter Los Angeles LGBT Center Downtown Women's Shelter Various Glendale opportunities - senior centers, trail maintenance. On the one hand, i want to review all in terms of schedules, commitment, proximity, etc., but maybe i should just try them all (but one at a time.) like, commit 6 months to one. then 6 months to another. cycle through them within 2 years and then land on something.
i think that since meeting jadai, so much of my energies went into us, our trips, our hobbies, our life with cooper, our social network, date nights, exploring the neighborhood, and of course a lot of her stuff: her family, her social justice causes, etc. there was definitely growth and self-reflection etc., as we worked out our differences, as we learned to be in relationship with each other. and also to be fair we really facilitated each other's interests. i took more interest in composting and gardening and we attended some Smart Gardening or Composting workshop together. i got into boating briefly. and i supported her rock climbing and bicycling. and i loved it all. no regrets. but i think so much of me got lost in us. i was glad, at the time. i was so sick of me. i loved being us. but i think i also have to remember, that i existed before us, and that i could exist again. it had for 36 years. granted, very unhappily most of the time. but. there were moments. few and far between, and seemingly barely worth it most of the time, but apparently enough to get me through.
as she and everyone else has repeatedly told me: i cannot expect to be made happy because of someone else, or for someone else, or just with someone else. somehow, SOMEHOW i need to be enough. somehow, whatever this world offers, and whatever i am, somehow this has to be enough. i've been hoping for some magic pill: an antidepressant, an activity, a relationship, etc., and all have failed. i feel like i need to work 10x as hard to get half as far as someone else, but, i mean, i guess that's just my lot in life? it could be worse. i'm about half way through my life, as i near my 40th birthday. i really should try to curb the constant complaining, the constant comparisons, the always-falling-short.
looking ahead: saturday, 9/9/2023: glendale open house with my mom. she'll be picking me up at 1:15 p.m. she might want to get lunch. anjali will be coming around 5 or 6 and then we'll go get shabu shabu or something afterward. i think the last time we hung out we walked by joon shabu shabu and i mentioned it was good and that we should try it. seems she's remembered that. it'll be good to see my mom and anjali. also i feel there will be enough down time to either nap as needed or get in a few rounds of dishes/vacuum/tidying.
sunday, 9/10/2023: church with my mom in the morning. possibly lunch. then over to the west side. it's rhiannon's bday 9/11 and she's been pretty depressed lately and not wanting to celebrate, which i totally get, but i figured we should try to do something. i think we've landed on a movie in playa vista at 4:45 (Bottoms), and then dinner or dessert afterward. i was just there earlier this week, but hey, a birthday only comes once a year yhea?
now off for a walk, a couple episodes of the office, and hopefully i can get started on a new book. fingers crossed.

Heterothermic
Chapter 1: The Question
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Family fluff, mutant biology speculation
Read on Ao3
-----
It all started with an innocent question.
"Are you guys warm-blooded?"
"Huh?"
Donnie looked up from the roller blades he was modifying for Cass, at April who had asked the sudden question. She didn't usually hang out in his lab, but the two of them hadn't spent much time together recently, so she had decided to stick around and chat for a bit.
April continued, "'Cause cold-blooded animals usually move slow at night since their muscles get stiff. But you guys go out at night all the time and it never seems to slow you down."
A small, thoughtful frown crossed Donatello's face. "Huh. I… don't actually know."
"Oh." April shrugged. "Okay." And she promptly forgot about the topic.
—
Two days later, and April was deep in the middle of a chess match with Leo. Sure, she was losing horribly, but she wasn't the kind of person to give up so easily. So when Donnie slammed open the lab door hard enough to make April jump and accidentally knock over half the pieces on the board, she groaned in disappointment.
"Heterothermic!" he yelled, seemingly to no one in particular.
"Um… hooray?" guessed Leo.
Donnie rushed over to April, shoving a stack of papers filled with line graphs and incomprehensible scribbles of writing towards her. "We're heterothermic," he repeated excitedly. "That means we have aspects of both warm and cold blooded creatures!" He jabbed a finger at a graph with a wavy line that meant absolutely nothing to anyone else in the room. "I've been tracking our body temperatures for the past few days, and when we're awake our bodies are able to maintain a near constant level of heat like warm-blooded creatures, but once we go to sleep our temperature begins to vary with the environment!"
April looked at Donnie's eye bags and rumpled gear. "Uh-huh… And when was the last time you went to sleep?"
"That's not important," he said flatly.
"Hang on," interrupted Leo. "How exactly were you tracking our temperatures this whole time?"
"Also not important."
"Wait - are you the reason I woke up freezing my ass off this morning!?"
"The point is," continued Donnie, completely ignoring Leo's question, "we are a perfect balance between turtle and human in this way. It's honestly fascinating and I can't believe I haven't looked this closely into mutant biology already."
"How about this," April offered, sweeping the abandoned chess pieces back into their container. "You go get a few hours of sleep, and I'll look up some cool turtle facts for you to test out when you wake up."
Donnie nodded excitedly and rushed back off the way he came, probably to neatly file away his research before going to bed.
April and Leo just stared after him with the feeling that this was only the beginning of a very large amount of chaos.

part 1~ part 2~ part 3~ part 4~ part 5~ part 6~ part 7
The sun crept through the curtains, shining on Y/n’s face causing her to stir awake. She turned on her back and began to rub her eyes, opening them slowly to look at the crack ceiling. Her fingertips traced her lips softly as she remembered what happened the night before. They had finally kissed and they also finally realized the feelings that were involved. Feelings that have been in each other’s heart for quite some time but they were both scared to admit it.
The y/h/c threw the covers off her body and stood up from the bed while stretching her arms up. She walked out of the room, trying to be quiet since Y/n didn’t want to wake Yelena up. The blonde was in the next room and is a light sleeper. The first thing Y/n did once she arrived at the kitchen was make coffee. It was extremely crucial, especially after the night before.
After a few minutes, Y/n finally had her coffee in hand as she leaned against the kitchen counter while looking out a small window. The only thing roaming through her head was the feeling of Yelena’s lips on hers. The way she tasted, the way her hands felt soft on her face. All she wanted to do that second was go and cuddle with the blonde. Y/n was so lost in her thoughts that she never heard Yelena wake up nor saw her standing in the kitchen.
“Morning.” The blonde said, making her partner jump in surprise.
“Hi.” The y/h/c said nervously as she traced her finger around the rim of her mug. Silence fell upon them once more as Yelena prepared her own coffee mug. They both felt awkward, neither of them knew what to say. They didn’t know if they should talk about the kiss or not. Y/n moved to the dining table and sat down, staring out the window in question.
“I think we should talk about it.” Yelena muttered, her accent sounding thick.
“Talk about what?”
“You know what.” Y/n looked up and leaned back on the chair as the blonde moved to sit in front of her.
“I’m sorry for kissing you.” She whispered, tapping her fingers on the mug.
“Don’t apologize… I liked it.” The blonde whispered back with a smile.
“What’s gonna happen now?” The y/h/c asked looking with hopeful eyes.
“I don’t know..” Yelena whispered as Y/n leaned forward with her elbows on the table, closer to her partner.
“We can um… we can just wait and see where it goes… if you want.” The blonde nodded and smiled, pushing her chair back to move to the stove.
Yelena made breakfast that day, for the first time in the whole mission. Y/n was surprised it was actually good which caused the blonde to be low key offended.
“Why would you doubt my cooking skills?” She asked and drank from her juice.
“Well because I've never seen you pick up a knife with the purpose of cooking, it’s always to kill.” Y/n laughed and popped a piece of fruit in her mouth as the blonde chuckled along.
“I don’t hear any complaining.” Yelena mumbled with her mouth full as the y/h/c smiled.
“No complaints, it’s very good.” She smiled widely, interlocking her fingers and placing them under her chin. Y/n looked at the blonde as she continued to eat. Yelena looked up to meet her partners y/e/c eyes, which were already staring.
“We should um… probably think of what to do with Neculai.” The y/h/c whispered as the blonde nodded.
“Do you have anything in mind?” Yelena asked, grabbing both plates and pushing her chair back to stand up.
“I mean… we’re a bit far away and hunting him down is a bit dangerous… but we’ll be free quicker.”
“I think we will be better off if we just find him and kill him. Valentina too.”
“Yeah but they can either find us or kill us first. Both ideas have their downfall.” Y/n said as she pushed back her chair to take her coffee mug to the sink. Yelena was washing the dishes when the y/h/c’s arm came in front of her, placing the dish down. Suddenly, soft lips came in contact with her cheek making her stop and turn to her partner.
“I’m gonna uh… go look for my computer..” Y/n stuttered nervously and walked off, leaving Yelena a blushing and smiley mess.
Somewhere over Europe
Neculai walked back and front inside his private jet as he scratched his chin in thought. He had just left St. Petersburg after questioning Melina and Alexei about where the women may have gone.
Valentina wasn’t good either. She was staring at her hands as she poured herself a glass of whiskey. They were ruining her plan and all Valentina desired was to kill them herself. Get them out of the way.
“Yelena wouldn’t leave without knowing where to go first.” She said and turned to the romanian man who was already staring at her.
“She never moves without a plan. She knew where to go before getting into that helicopter.” Valentina continued, pointing out the window.
“Where do you think they went?” Neculai asked, walking towards her.
“I-I don’t-“
“They can be anywhere by now, Valentina!” He shouted in anger, making her take a few steps back.
“Domnule, am găsit un apartament. Este sub Romanoff la Budapesta. (Sir, we found an apartment. It's under Romanoff in Budapest.)” One of Neculai’s men said, walking towards them with files in his hands. He handed them his boss and nodded his head, excusing himself.
“Mulțumesc, Soran. (Thank you, Soran.)” Neculai mumbled as the man walked away.
“Budapest.” He almost whispered as his eyes scanned the files in his hand.
“It’s not far from here.” Valentina muttered and took the last sip of her drink before putting the glass down.
“Micah! Întoarceți acest avion… mergem la Budapesta. (Micah! Turn this plane around… we’re going to Budapest.)” Neculai shouted at the pilot and turned back to Valentina, lifting up his glass in a toast.
“We can’t just show up there.”
“Who said we can’t? It’s better like this, we can kill them faster.”
The apartment was quiet, the only thing you could hear was Yelena’s shower and Y/n typing away on her computer. She was trying to look for a way to find Neculai first so she went back to the surveillance footage and phone calls from his office. The y/n/c stood up and walked to the kitchen counter to make herself a snack when she heard a door creaking. She believed it was Yelena walking out of the bathroom so Y/n didn’t do anything.
“Hey, so I was thinking we can order chinese today! I really wanna eat out of those cardboard boxes with the chopsticks!” She shouted so the blonde could hear. When she didn’t get a response back, she turned her head towards the hallway in question.
“Yelena?” She called out and saw a figure out of the corner of her eye making her turn and gasp. A metal rod came in contact with her temple, knocking the y/h/c out cold in an instance.
A few minutes went by when Yelena finally stepped out of the bathroom. The apartment was unusually quiet which caused her to be on edge. She walked slowly towards the bedroom and grabbed her gun before walking out to the hallway again. The blonde put her gun up immediately looking into every room until arriving at the kitchen. Her heart broke when she saw Y/n unconscious on the floor causing her to lower the gun and run to her.
“Y/n? Y/n? Hey, come on.” She muttered, turning her body around to see her temple all bloody.
“Y/n-“
“Oh look who it is!” A female voice exclaimed, making Yelena grab her gun immediately.
“No need to shoot… I come in peace.” Valentina smirked and she held her hands up in surrender.
“Where’s Neculai?” The blonde muttered.
“Why? Did you miss me?” He asked, walking next to Valentina with a cigar in between his index and middle finger. Yelena looked at them in anger and shot her gun, taking them by surprise. She purposely shot the wall closest to them to make them duck and hide. The blonde took the opportunity to take Y/n and drag her into the bedroom to protect her from them.
“Y/n, hey! Please, wake up. Please, come on, open your eyes.” She said, tapping the y/h/c’s cheek repeatedly. Bullets began to hit the wall and the door making Yelena duck her head and cover Y/n’s body with hers.
After some time, the bullets stopped making the blonde stand up and run to the closet to get the machine gun. The bullets were prepared and she was fully equipped when she decided to open the door. She turned the knob slowly, opening the door as she made sure it didn’t creak. Yelena turned to Y/n one last time before closing the door. The blonde automatically put her gun up and began to walk around the apartment.
She saw movement from the end of the hallway, making her turn and shut from her gun immediately. The bullets hit the wall and she hid behind a column before the other man shot her way. The blonde peaked her head to the hallway and pointed the gun at the shooter, quickly shooting her gun. The man yelled in pain and fell to the ground making Yelena walk out and run to him, to see him struggling. She shot him three more times before taking his gun, putting it in the back of her jeans.
Yelena looked up, searching the place for Neculai or Valentina. Someone shot at her from the bathroom, making her run into what was her bedroom. Bullets hit the wall next to her making the blonde cover her head while they stopped shooting. The room turned quiet signaling the russian that the person had stopped shooting. She took that moment to move behind the door of the bedroom as heavy footsteps were heard down the hall. The masked man walked into the bedroom slowly with his gun up, walking away from the door. Yelena took the gun from her back pocket and fired the gun, shooting him in the back of the head.
“I know you’re here, Belova!” Neculai shouted from somewhere around the house.
“Come out and fight like a real widow!” Valentina followed, making Yelena clench her jaw in anger. She replaced her small gun with the big on and stepped out of the bedroom.
“I’m not hiding, especially from you!” The blonde said loudly, making her way down the hallway and into the kitchen. Neculai stood with his back towards Yelena, not expecting her to be there. She put down her gun and quickly kicked him in the back of the knee to make it bend. Her arm went around his neck, beginning to choke him as his hand went to his pocket to get his little knife. He took it out and waved the knife towards her, slicing her arm.
The blonde yelled in pain and released her grip, making the romanian turn to her immediately. She kicked his hand, watching the knife slide across the floor and kicked his face causing him to fall back. Neculai extended his hand and grabbed her ankle as Yelena swung her other leg to kick him off. As she stood she grabbed her small gun from her pants and pointed it at him as he stood up as well.
He gave her a bloody smile as he caught his breath before bolting towards her. Her finger pulled the trigger causing a loud bang followed by a shout of pain. Yelena shot him on the leg, to slow him down. Necuali stayed on the floor, clutching his thigh as the blonde moved to the living room to see Valentina already pointing the weapon at her.
“Put it down.” Yelena muttered, walking closer to the black haired woman as she took a few steps back.
“Not before you do.” She laughed dryly as they walked around the room slowly.
The blonde stomped forward and grabbed Valentina’s hand as she lifted her foot to kick her in the gut. The black haired woman stumbled back while Yelena walked towards with her fist clenched. The woman dodged her fist and tackled the russian to the ground.
Valentina straddled her and wrapped her hands around the blonde’s neck, keeping her grip strong. Yelena slapped her arms and pushed her face away but nothing seemed to work. Her oxygen levels were dropping fast, her lungs screamed to breath and she was beginning to look purple.
Suddenly, a loud bang was heard followed by a painful shout from Valentina. She immediately released her grip from Yelena’s neck and fell to the floor as she clutched her arm. The blonde sat up slowly and turned around to see Y/n holding up a gun, still pointing it at the injured woman.
“Lena, get up.” The y/h/c stated, never lowering her weapon as her partner hurried towards her.
“Get our things, we’re leaving.” She whispered and Yelena nodded, running towards the bedroom to pack their bags, again. Y/n was left alone, pointing at Valentina as she screamed in agony on the ground.
Suddenly, a piece of fabric went around her neck, pulling her back to crash into a hard chest. The pressure was cutting off her airways as she tried to fight the person off. The y/h/c was lifted slightly off the ground as she heard an evil chuckle next to her ear.
“Looks like I got you now, fetiță dansatoare.(little dancer girl.)” Neculai said with a bloody grin as Y/n’s nails dug into his skin. She tried to gasp for air every chance she got but she couldn’t. Her vision began to fog as her lungs continued to scream for oxygen. She moved her arm down the side of her thigh, pretending to let go but instead, she grabbed the knife placed under a little pocket on her jeans. Y/n lifted her arm and stabbed Neculai on his leg causing him to scream out in pain as he released his grip around the y/h/c. She quickly turned, knife in hand, ready to defend herself when she felt a presence from behind her.
Valentina swung her gun, hitting Y/n on the side of her head causing her to stumble over an already broken coffee table. The y/h/c turned to face and kicked her leg but was quickly grasped by the black haired woman. She laid still for a minute, thinking of an escape plan as she looked at Neculai walk towards them.
“Two against one? Seriously, this is unfair.” Y/n chuckled dryly as she shook her head. She pulled her foot towards her chest causing Valentina to stumble forward, closer to her giving her the opportunity to punch her in the face.
The y/h/c stood up and began to block Neculai’s hits until she was an inch away from the wall. Her body turned and the man’s fist went through the wall as she ran down the hallway towards Yelena. She kicked every door open, hoping to see the blonde with the bag packed. When she kicked the last door, the room was empty and the window was open. Y/n’s face softened as she frowned, noticing that everything was gone too.

Chick Flick Moments - Sam Winchester Imagine (Supernatural)
Title: Chick Flick Moments
Pairing: Sam Winchester X Reader
Requested: by an anonymous reader
Word Count: 2,363 words
Warning(s): violence, cussing, Sam embarrassing himself, spoilers for any movie/show listed in the author's note
Summary: (Season 11) Gabriel takes a break from hiding to teach (Y/n) and Sam to forgive each other.
Author's Note: I had so much fun putting this request together! Also, if I remember correctly, this reader wanted to remain anonymous.
Here are links to all the scenes that inspired parts of this imagine:
1 (Princess Bride), 2 (8x12 Criminal Minds; can't find just the scene to link), 3 (Moulin Rouge), 4 (The Notebook), 5 (The 10 Things I Hate About You), 6 (Gilmore Girls), 7 (La La Land)
Hey! I did a rewrite of the ending of Supernatural. It took a really long time to complete, so it would mean a lot to me if you check it out. Here’s a link! (it’s on my personal account)
-----------------------------------
I rolled my eyes as I walked through the bunker.
Sam was still ranting about the most recent hunt. I was just tired of listening to it. Dean had long since given up trying to control his brother, who had shown no sign of listening to anyone.
"You can't just throw yourself into every single enemy," Sam yelled. "Fun fact, you're not Superman!"
"Oh my god," I finally, turning around. I had been halfway through the library at this point. Dean continued through the bunker, ignoring us. "I ran up to one extra vamp because you were about to get your throat ripped out! Yes, I put myself in danger but it was to save you!"
"Why are you so desperate to be a hero," he asked.
"Why are you so pissy that I saved you," I shouted back.
I let out a yell before turning and leaving.
"Where are you going?"
"To bed," I shouted from down the hall. "Maybe you'll be nicer in the morning! You're welcome for saving your ass!"
I stormed into my room and slammed the door shut. I changed quickly, throwing my old clothes into the corner before curling up on my bed. My emotions got the better of me. I started crying into my pillow.
Imagine saving the man you secretly loved... and then he got mad at you about it.
I fell asleep crying that night.
--time skip--
I shot awake, cringing at how bright it was.
I looked around, letting my eyes adjust to the light.
I was on a hill. I was on a hill, lying in the grass with the sun shining on my face. This is not good.
I stood up and did a circle to look around the long stretches of grass. Nothing looked even slightly familiar.
"For fuck's sake," I muttered.
I decided that the best option would be to try to climb down and find a person... somewhere.
I was just about to start making my way down the hill when I felt a hand grab me.
Out of pure fear, I grabbed the person and pulled them from behind me. The person went flying down the hill.
"(Y/n)," I heard Sam's voice yell as he rolled down the hill.
I put my hand over my mouth. He soon stopped rolling and then he stood up, scrambling to pull the black mask off of his face. I sighed, dropping my hand when I saw he was alright.
"Sam," I called.
"Your instinct is to throw some down a hill," Sam asked.
"When a masked man tries to grab me, definitely," I replied. "Fun fact, Sam, I can actually defend myself."
He gave me a sarcastic smile. I shot it right back to him.
Sam looked down at his outfit before sighing and shrugging at me. He had just started to move back up the hill when my visions went dark.
I opened my eyes a few moments later.
What had been an open field was now a dark warehouse or factory. I saw Sam across from me, but also a group of people behind him. I recognized them. They were characters from Criminal Minds, a guilty pleasure I watched when we weren't hunting.
I tried to figure out what was happening.
Then, I became all too aware of the barrel of a gun pressing into my neck.
"No," Sam yelled.
It clicked.
Sam was supposed to be Spencer. I was Maeve. This was Zugzwang.
My heart dropped.
"Wait, please, don't," Sam yelled as the gun pressed harder on my neck.
"Sam, shut up," I snapped.
"Me for (Y/n)," he shouted.
"You would do that," Diane- the unsub of that episode- asked.
"Yes," Sam replied.
"No," I yelled. "Sam, shut up."
"You shut up," Diane growled at me.
"One difference between me and her...," I growled back.
I grabbed the gun, pushing it forward, away from my neck. The bullet she tried to fire hit the brick wall. I turned, bringing an elbow down on her arm. Her hand dropped the gun into my grasp. I pointed it toward her.
"...I'm not scared of a simple gun."
The others walked over and arrested her. I looked at Sam.
"If you continued, she would've killed herself, which would've killed me," I explained. He furrowed his eyebrows. "I watch this show when we aren't hunting."
He walks over, going to hug me before the scene changes again.
"Holy...," I trailed off as I looked around.
Around us, we could see the tops of roofs and a beautiful night sky. It was almost a dreamy setting.
"Where are we now," Sam asked.
"Only the great Moulin Rouge," Sam and I both twirled around to face... Gabriel. "I know, I know... I'm not dead, anyway!"
I rolled my eyes.
"You two need to learn a lesson," he pointed at us.
"It's like back in 2010," I mumbled. "Play our roles to get out. Probably why we were pulled out of the last two."
"You'll fall into them naturally, I promise," Gabriel smirked. "And yes. Stop ignoring the plotline."
"Alright... sure, I was gonna get shot for your crappy game," I snapped sarcastically.
Then, he was gone. I rolled my eyes.
"So, what are the roles," Sam asked as I walked around the top of the elephant.
"Well, Christian and Satine," I pointed between us. "Maeve and Spencer. The Princess Bride and Westley. It's all romance."
"Why," Sam scrunched his face up.
"Because Gabe wants to get his rocks off," I said sarcastically, "I don't know, Sam!"
I walked down the stairs of the elephant. It was gorgeous here. It was just as vibrant as the movie made it look.
"Wow," I look back at Sam. "This is awesome."
I chuckled and nodded.
"What seen is it?"
"The Elephant Love Medley," I said. "Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman sing this mash-up of famous love songs as his character tries to convince her that there is nothing more important than love."
"I'm not gonna sing," Sam shook his head.
"I was not gonna ask you too," I chuckled. "I've heard you sing."
"Rude."
I just shrugged.
I looked around at the room, trying to figure out how to play these roles without the singing.
"Wait," I said. "Come on."
I grabbed his hand and pulled him back to the stairs.
"What is it," Sam asked as we made it to the top.
"At the end of the medley, Christian and Satine are dancing and they walk out onto this field of clouds and are held up in the sky."
"What-"
"This whole movie feels like a fever dream the first time you watch it."
"Come on," Sam held a hand out to me.
"Can you dance?"
"Not well," he chuckled. "The role didn't say I needed to be good."
He grabbed my hand and pulled me closer to him.
I tried to lead his steps and laughed as he stumbled into a pattern.
"Come on," I moved back so I could grab only one hand.
I led him a few steps forward and onto- what seemed to be- steps in the clouds. I let out an excited laugh when it worked. Sam looked at me and grinned at my excitement.
As soon as got to the top of the steps... it was gone.
We were in the middle of the street now.
"Aw, that was just mean," I mumbled. I glared at Sam when I heard him laughed.
He held his hands up jokingly before extending one toward me. I furrowed my eyebrows at him.
"I know what movie this is," he shrugged. I motioned for him to continue explaining. He walked over, hand still held out to me, "The Notebook. Noah and Allie dance in the street. So... will you dance with me? Even without the sequence where we dance in the clouds."
I bit my lip as I smiled.
I took his hand and let him pull me into the street. I laughed as I stumbled into his chest.
We fell into the scene naturally.
Sam held one of my hands in his and held my waist with the other. I placed my free hand on his shoulder. I looked up at him. It felt strange that we so casually fell into the scene but I was happy.
Sam jokingly twirled me around before pulling me back to his chest. I closed my eyes and chuckled.
"What," he asked.
"Nothing," I shook my head. "I just never saw you as such a romantic."
"Well, don't tell anyone, you'll ruin my reputation," he said sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes.
Sam spun the two of us in a circle before going to dip me. I didn't think I'd ever get to experience something like this. It always just felt like something I should forget about as a hunter. I was starting to forget why I was so angry with Sam in the first place.
I barely noticed that Sam was leaning in before the scene around me changed.
I was on a football field.
I looked around.
There was no sign of Sam.
"Crap," I mumbled, trying to figure out where to look first.
Then, there was a voice going over the field's speakers.
"You're just too good to be true... can't take my eyes off of you..."
I looked around toward the stands to see Sam walking with a mic. Can't sing, my ass.
"You'd be like heaven to touch... I wanna hold you so much"
"Oh my god," I muttered.
"At long last love has arrived... And I thank God I'm alive... You're just too good to be true... Can't take my eyes off of you."
I tried to bite back my laugh. He shrugged at me with an embarrassed smile and stepped into the actual stands.
We both jumped when the marching band started playing. I looked to see Gabriel smirking and leading their march.
Sam and I shrugged at each other. He continued on with the act.
Now, Sam Winchester pretending to be Patrick in "10 Things I Hate About You" was a treat... and was exactly what you imagined it would be.
He was almost stumbling down the steps as he continued on with the act. I was laughing hysterically by the time I saw the security guards starting to run in.
"Sam," I yelled, pointing behind him.
"Crap," I heard through the mic (which made me almost double-over in laughter) as he tried to take off running.
As soon as he was grabbed, the scene changed.
We both took a deep breath when we realized we were sitting together in a car.
"Thank god," Sam mumbled.
"That was a great performance, by the way," I said, still chuckling.
"Shut up," he muttered, laughing along with me. We fell silent after a minute. "So... what scene is this?"
"I have no idea," I replied.
"It's Gilmore Girls, dumbasses," we heard Gabriel's voice but saw no sign of him. "Season 1, Episode 16... absolute idiots."
"Didn't peg him for a Gilmore Girls fan," I said. Sam laughed.
"Me neither."
We fell silent again.
"I'm sorry," Sam said, looking over at me. "You were right. You can defend yourself and you were just trying to help me. I'm sorry for being such a dick about it."
I grinned, "Thanks... I forgive you. I know you were just worried about me."
Sam smiled back.
"I... umm...," Sam looked down for a moment, clearing his throat and collecting his thoughts. "I just... I love you."
My heart leaped up into my throat. I blinked at him a few times and forced a chuckle out. Which was the wrong response but I panicked. Hunters... we could face the devil but emotions were a no-no.
"(Y/n)," Sam's smile dropped slowly when he realized I wasn't responding.
I was just about to respond when the scene changed again.
Sam was gone again and I was on a city street.
"Dammit," I muttered.
I ran down the street, turning the corner. I looked at the wall of the building I was by. Was this a jazz club?
I walked through the door and was guided to a table so I could sit down and watch the performance.
"La La Land," I said.
Sam and I watched this together. Dean had gone to bed. We weren't tired and just turned this movie on because it looked like it was mostly happy.
Big dance numbers, beautiful effects... and the epilogue that made me hide tears from Sam.
I looked at the stage. Sam was sitting there, wearing a suit, looking at the audience nervously. He hesitantly reached toward the piano. It was like it was a prerecorded track. It sounded just like the movie.
I smiled.
I just wanted to talk to him.
Soon the performance ended.
I stood up and started walking over, seeing Sam starting to walk out.
I grinned at him, "Sam-"
He cut me off by cupping the sides of my face and kissing me softly. I touched his sides lightly, smiling against his lips. It was... magic. Absolute magic.
Then, I shot awake, back in my bed in the bunker.
The game was over. Thank God.
"(Y/n)," I heard yell through the bunker hall.
I ran into the hall and ran toward his room.
We stopped as soon as we saw each other.
"Please tell me that wasn't a dream," I said. He shook his head, smiling widely at me.
I ran over, pulling him down to kiss him again. It was softer than our last kiss and I loved it. His arms wrapped around me and pulled me closer. I buried my hands through his hair.
"Woah, what did I miss," we pulled away when we heard Dean.
I could basically feel Sam chuckle against my lips before he moved to look at his brother. I turned around in Sam's arm.
"A chick flick moment," Sam answered.
"Alright," Dean gave us a weird look before leaving without another word.
I looked back at Sam with a smile, "I love you."
"I love you too," he grinned and leaned in to kiss me softly again.

ok here we go! for jelena, questions 1-15?
1: Golden mornings or peachy sunsets?
Oh dear, both are so lovely! But I think I'll go for peachy sunsets, because it's more likely for me to share a sunset with the people I love than an early golden morning (since all of my partners across rps seem to be night owls).
2: Sugar cones or waffle cones?
Sugar cones! Waffles cones are very nice too, but nine times out of ten, I'll ask for a sugar cone.
3: Do you wear scarves often? do you have a favorite?
Actually, no. I do wear scarves sometimes, but not as often as I probably should when it gets cold out... I just don't really mind the cold that much.
4: How long do you lay in bed before you finally get up?
Well most of the time, I'm the first one awake, because I want to make sure my partner or friends have a warm breakfast to wake up to. But sometimes I do hesitate to wake up... Unless I'm convinced to stay put by my partner, the longest I have hesitated by myself has been half an hour.
5: Is there a food you’ve never had but always wanted to try?
Well there's many worldly cuisines I haven't had a chance to try yet, and so long as it's not too spicy (I can't really handle spice), I would be very interested in trying it! I've heard good things about Thai food specifically, so that would be nice!
6: What does your umbrella look like?
I have a pretty plain umbrella, actually. It's just a solid light blue. A cute umbrella would be nice, especially since it rains so much in the UK, but I don't usually think about my umbrella, so the one I have is fine.
7: Do you listen to ASMR?
Um... not really, but not because I don't like it. I just have other things to listen to when I'm doing things around the house or working.
8: Rain storms or a light drizzle?
Light drizzle. I like how pretty lightning is, but I don't like how loud thunder is. And light drizzle is easier to do chores in.
9: What’s a little thing in life that you love?
Seeing other people enjoy the food I make them. I didn't always get fed... when I was growing up... So I really really like to make sure the people around me aren't going hungry, and it makes me feel even better when they enjoy the food they're eating.
10: Favorite color aesthetic?
I like light blue and silver or grey. I think those are pretty colors, but I also like the red and green of Christmas~
11: Wobbly lines or using a ruler?
For drawing, wobbly lines. I don't really draw that often, so it's usually just for fun. But for sewing? I use a ruler. I want to make sure I'm getting all the measurements and lines absolutely right.
12: Bright colorful living room or neutral cozy living room?
How about colorful cozy living room? :)
13: Do you have any candles? what scents are they?
I have a few candles, all of them were gifts, which is very nice! They're all sugar/baking scents, and I love them!
14: Have you ever rode a horse?
Once or twice. It was nice, but I think I would prefer, if I were to do it again, to do it with someone.
15: Do you have glasses?
I do!

"i think a playlist could heal eddie actually" (@littlespooneven, 2021)
pov: you're eddie diaz crying on your living room floor at 1am because you just turned on a random spotify playlist made by a tipsy melancholic millennial woman, but by god maybe it'll get you to reconsider therapy
1. fireworks - mitski one morning, this sadness will fossilize, and I will forget how to cry, I'll keep going to work, and you won't see a change, save, perhaps, a slight gray in my eye/ I will go jogging routinely, calmly and rhythmically run, and when I find that a knife's sticking out of my side, I'll pull it out without questioning why
2. hypochondriac - fenne lily these conversations I have with myself, only as hard as I make them/ these complications I have with my health, only go as far as I take them / so leave it out, we're all sick of waiting for a moment to stop and sleep it off, I'm freaking out, now I'm sick and waiting for a moment to stop and not feel so much
3. funeral - phoebe bridgers and last night I blacked out in my car, and I woke up in my childhood bed, wishing I was someone else, feeling sorry for myself, when I remembered someone's kid is dead / jesus christ, I'm so blue all the time, and that's just how I feel, always have and I always will, I always have and always will
4. blood stream - soccer mommy ' hydrangeas blooming off the branches of park trees, it's a half-hearted calm, the way I've felt since I was thirteen, 'cause I may not feel it now, covered up the wounds with my long sleeves, but I know it's waiting there, swimming through my bloodstream, and it's gonna come for me, yeah it's gonna come for me
5. tokyo - julien baker don't look, god, it's a mess, a seven-car pileup of every disastrous thing that I've been / crane your neck, the aftermath, the imprint of my body left
6. circle the drain - soccer mommy I wanna be calm like the soft summer rain on your back, like the fall of your shoulders, but everything just brings me back down to the cold hard ground, and it keeps getting colder / I'm wobbling out on the wire and the lights could go out with the break of a cable
7. icu - phoebe bridgers if you're a work of art, I'm standing too close, I can see the brush strokes/ I hate your mom, I hate it when she opens her mouth, it's amazing to me how much you can say when you don't know what you're talking about
8. halloween - novo amor I remember Halloween, I hit my head on the edge of the sink, dialling out to an older me, I miss my friends that I pretend I don't need but I could have done with them this week 9. light blue - snail mail I wanna wake up early every day just to be awake in the same world as you, I won't ever hurt you, no more endless nights, only the lightest blues
10. wading in waist-high water - fleet foxes soon as I know you, all so wide open, wading inside of fire / as if I just saw you, cross second avenue, wading in wait high water, and I love you so violent more than maybe I can do, now we finally align more than maybe I can choose
#it’s me I’m the tipsy melancholic millennial woman#this is so self indulgent#listen to some sad girl music and maybe you‘ll REALIZE Eddie!!!#911

twelve for joe (sk8), seven for cherry, ten for joy (if you want to talk about haunted characters,,,), & six for kya ii
I know that’s a lot so you don’t have to do them all, i just wanted to go you a chance to ramble about your favorites <3
12. friendship headcanon + joe joe's love language is cooking food for people. like yeah yeah we know he cooks food for cherry all the time but i mean like. this goes for the kids and shadow too. if any of them so much as insinuate they might be hungry, joe immediately goes into Chef Mode and is like what do you want? when miya comes in with their hood pulled up so it's covering their face, joe doesn't even have to ask before setting a plate of dessert in front of them. when reki and langa come in after school to do homework and talk about skating, they hardly ever have to wait longer than a few minutes before joe has sodas and an appetizer to share sitting on their table. when shadow comes in tipsy and mourning about his unrequited feelings, joe wordlessly brings him a glass of water and a plate of his favorite dish. even back in high school, joe would make two lunches every morning: one for him and one for cherry.
7. food / cooking headcanon + cherry okay corey i've already told you this one but. allergies. cherry has so many food allergies. he's allergic to eggs, almonds, avocados, watermelon, bananas, chestnuts, papaya, passion fruit, artificial blue dye, asparagus, mustard, and lobster (and also latex lol). none of his allergies are life threatening, so a lot of times, he will simply eat foods he's allergic to and just suffer the consequences until he can tell his body has had too much and needs a break. he also always forgets at least one thing when he's listing off his allergies, so he usually just has carla list them off for him if needed. the only person who has actually memorized the complete list and can recite it without error is joe (bonus: joe learned to cook with egg substitutes specifically for cherry <3)
6. musical headcanon + kya ii kya is very good at singing! when she was really little, katara would sing her water tribe lullabies in order to get her to sleep, and eventually kya started singing along. then, aang started to teach her old air nomad songs and lullabies since she'd taken such an interest in music, and because of that, music is the part of air nomad culture that kya feels most connected to. she's learned to play many of the air nomad instruments that don't require bending in order to play, and she ends up teaching jinora, ikki, and the new airbenders who are interested how to play the ones she knows. she would also sing jinora and ikki to sleep when they were little, switching between water tribe and air nomad lullabies for them
10. sleep headcanon + joy summers
joy's prophetic dreams tend to come in phases. sometimes, it makes sense when she's having a lot of them - like when thia, logan, max, and iz all reunite or when thia disappears - but sometimes, they bubble up again for no apparent reason at all. and sometimes, it will get to the point where joy just tries to stop sleeping in order to avoid them. specifically when she starts having dreams about thia's disappearance before it happens, and again during the winter of her freshman year of college, when she's having dreams about covid times and has absolutely no idea what to make of that because she can't tell anyone. she also starts trying to avoid sleep after they get back from the alternate timelines and she starts having dreams of her and thia's relationship, because she thinks the dreams are showing her what she gave up when she left the alternate timeline. and she's very good at hiding when she hasn't been sleeping, because she doesn't want to worry her friends, and a lot of times she can't talk to them, because she doesn't want to mess with Time and have it collapse in on itself. so she just. stays quiet and stays awake
#i might have drafted this after writing cherry's and forgotten about it sORRY#anyway ty for the ask corey ilyyy#and thank you for giving me an excuse to talk about cherry's allergies😌💞#also the joe one turned into a food / cooking headcanon too whoops ksjfdkhj#sk8#kojiro nanjo#kaoru sakurayashiki#kya ii#tlok#joy summers#haunted#corey tag#ask game#cw food#covid mention
