“Will you forgive me, please?”

summary: Reader is going crazy with how much is going on on her life. Studying for the final exams, work with terrible people. But on a weekend, when Eddie comes without warning you, you both fought for the first time in your relationship.
Being Eddie's girlfriend was the best part of your life. You loved him and the way he treated you. You've been together for a year now and, between this time, you got to know all sides of him. Goofy, funny, kind, sexy. But you've never seen him get mad. Pissed? Of course! All the time, he would be complaining about things or cursing other people who were assholes with him. But he was never mad, at least not with you.
But there was one specific time when you were having a terrible week. With the final exams, not to mention you mentoring other students, you were one step away from losing it. And there was your boss giving you the same speech all week because one of your co-workers snitched you for kissing your boyfriend at work. It was just a smooch!
"This girl's a bitch. Probably never touched a dick in her life!" That's what Eddie said to you.
But, by the end of the week, you were on edge. And being busy all the time, you never got the chance to spend a single minute with your boyfriend. But he would have to wait, the finals were more important now. Eddie didn't seem to agree. He showed up at your door with movies in his hands.
"Hey sweetie, i'm sorry i'm a little late. Had to kick some ass to get out of Family Video" You just hummed, trying to understand what was wrong with your calculus. "I'm great, thanks for asking!"
On his way he, unfortunately, met Jason at the same place. He didn't actually fought him, just some heated exchange of words. It got him a little pissed, but he was going to spend the night with you, so he pretended that he was fine. He was hoping that you would make him feel better.
"Eddie you can put the movie, i don't mind, but i'll not pay attention. I really need to review this"
"Yeah sweetheart, whatever you say" Of course. He was not listening, looking for some candies in your cabinet.
He sat by your side and kept talking to you. You were trying so hard not to cut him off, you really missed him, but you couldn't allow yourself that privilege of five minutes making out with him. So by the end of the first movie he brought, he started to say some curious facts about it but you let out a groan. "Fuck. Why physics were so hard?” You thought to yourself.
"Alright, stop. What the fuck? I've be trying to talk to you for the whole week, but you were too busy. Now that is your time to relax you're going to keep studying?" He said with a serious tone. At first you were quiet, waiting for him to calm down so you would not fight. But he said, louder this time "Say something, damn it!"
"What do you want me to say Eddie? I need to-" you were cut out
"Please, don't you think you studied enough? The whole week, is all you've been doing. You’re gonna burst into flames from thinking too much."He was now facing you, your book long forgotten as the both of you started to lose it.
"Well, for some of us, the constancy is required! I am not doing very good in this subject. I'm just trying to do my best and you should be doing the same." He shifted his body and giggled in a sarcastic way.
"Oh yes, let's remember that i was held back. So original. That's very dirty bellow the belt of you sweetheart." His facial expression was full of disappointment and anger.
"Can you not contort my words? I said as you should be doing your best too so you don't get held back again!" You regretted the time you said it. It was dirty of you and his eyes were not looking into yours anymore. "I know i was not very present this week, but can't you just wait 'till the goddamn exams to end. I don't know what happened for you be so rude but you shouldn't be taking it out on me!"
He was not looking at you, fidgeting with his rings, thinking of the right thing to say so you could stop fighting.
"All i wanted was to spend time with you, what the fuck is wrong with that?"
"There's nothing wrong, is just that i told you that i needed to get good at this."
"That's the fucking point, there's nothing to get better at, you've been working on it for so long, there is nothing new to see! Fuck, you’re not even answering when i talked to you."
"Stop being fucking dramatic Eddie! Do you think i like this, the way that i'm on the edge right now? Fighting with my boyfriend and friends, not having a fucking second to breathe because it feels like everything i do is wrong?"
"And i am the one dramatic. Let me give you a heads up. It's not the end of the fucking world if you fail a test. Besides, you couldn't do it even if you tried. You had to have sucked in the other tests to be held back, like me."
"Oh my god! Why don't you grow up a little and see how this is important to me? Look, we both are angry for some reason and are not in conditions to talk. I think is the best for the both of you for you to leave. So we don't hurt ourselves anymore."
"You always have to be so good and solve every damn problem, right? Only so in the end i can be the bad guy. Honestly, why are you the one to say what we should or shouldn't do?"
"Because it's my fucking house and i want you to leave!"
At this point, after wrestling and yelling at each other, you were with tears in your eyes panting without knowing what to do. Eddie gulped, stepped back and, not saying a word, he left.
The tears were rolling down your cheeks. Now there was no way you would focus on physics. You regretted so much. All the words said in the heat of the moment. You didn't mean any of them. And he probably didn't. You both said things to hurt each other in order to be right. Eddie was definitely upset about something, not just the lack of your attention. But now was not the time to find out.
——————
After a week, you finish every school exam and were finally free from school. And back in work, your co-worker was fired. She was caught fucking a random guy that you didn’t know on the boss’s office . “Guess Eddie was wrong” you thought giggling but getting upset the second after. You both have been avoiding each other. Eddie didn’t want to bother you and you didn’t want to hurt him. But it was time. You were tired of tearing up every time you remembered your fight.
So, at the end of your shift, you drove to the trailer park. It was the first time you fought and you hated. The feeling was that, at any second, you would lose him.
Knocking at his door, you stood there, waiting for him.
“Coming.” You heard his muffled voice. When he opened the door, he had an annoyed expression that shifted to a concerned one once he saw it was you. He was shirtless, wet hair and sweatpants that hung low on his hips. You didn’t know if it was because of the long week not seeing him, but he looked incredibly handsome. “Hey” It was the only thing he could say, surprised by your appearance.
“Hi… Can we talk.” You said hesitant, not knowing where to start.
“Sure. Please” He opened the door wider letting you in. Guiding you on the couch, where you both sat in awkward silence. It didn’t even look like you two were together for a long time. “I assume you’re here to talk about last weekend.” You nodded trying your best not to cry already which was really hard because of the way he looked at you.
“Look Eddie, i don’t even know where to start. We both lost our senses and said terrible things we shouldn’t. I honestly feel like-“ A feeling you grew accustomed in the past week grew in your throat. You couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. “I felt like i was losing my mind and that everything i was doing was wrong. You were right. I was taking too much at once and i couldn’t take it.”
“No no no. Sweetheart, i was the wrong one. I was worried about you and my own shit and i put that on your shoulders.” He said whipping your cheeks. “And as i usually do, to run away from my problems, i pretended that none of that was happening and didn’t realize how important studying was for you. I am truly sorry for that and for the fight.”
You hugged him tightly. His hands surrounded your waist and his nose nestled on your neck, sniffing your sent. He’d missed you deeply. “I’m sorry too” you said softly and moving away just enough to see his face. “I just want you to know that i don’t meant shit from what i’ve said. That was awful of me. I felt awful. I hope you can forgive me.”
“Of course i forgive you, sweetie. I was supposed to be the one apologizing. I also didn’t mean any of that crap. You forgive me too?” He said giving you a smirk that made you giggle.
“Yes. But only if you tell me why you were so worked up that night.”
“Oh shit, you’re right. My week was not great either. You know how much i hate finals. Before going to yours, i stopped at Family Video and i met with Jason Carver. And well, you know the story, he calls me a freak and i pretend that he hurt my feelings. But that night, he started to talk shit about us, like you were way out of my league. And until then i was like, tell me something i don’t know. But then the son of a bitch called you a whore and that you probably sold yourself for one fuck in exchange for a review of any subject. And i was like “what the fuck dude?”. I just lost my mind. Thank the metal gods that Steve stopped me from beating his face.”
“Oh my god! You could have told me” You don’t even know why you said that. You literally fought because you were too into your studies.
“It’s alright. He normally doesn’t piss me off. But I just can’t accept him talking shit about you. As if he knew you enough to call you a whore.”
The good thing is that you got back to normal and cuddled for the rest of the day. Eddie wanted to stay close to you as much as he could, so he asked begged for you to stay over. So here you were, before going to sleep telling how much you loved each other.
“Good night baby” Even in the dark room, you could see his beautiful eyes looking at you with so much love
“Good night Eds” Closing your eyes ready to sleep, felling your man’s hand caressing you, you were sure that you were in heaven. Out of the sudden you remembered.
“Eds!” You turned fast to him scaring him a little “You won’t believe what happened.”
“What?” Poor man, he was half asleep. You giggled at his confused face.
“Apparently, that girl from work did a lot more than touching dick…”
“I told you she was a bitch. A man knows”
“Shut up”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With summer break approaching, the school is constantly informing, or rather aggressively reminding parents about their end-of-year fundraiser. Wanda avoided the event last year because she was still deep in her depression and consumed by grief. The last thing she wanted to do was attend the same event her ex-husband and his beautiful young wife were at, especially at a time when she could barely get the motivation to get dressed up. Agatha tried to get her to come but she eventually gave up. Now that it's coming up, she can't help but think about the difference the possibility of meeting you sooner would have affected her life. Not knowing that you also avoided attending the event last year as well.
“Mom!” The boys cheer as they run up to her at pick up. They give her tight hugs. It's not her week with them but Vision called her during his lunch to explain that things are tense at home and the boys have been asking to stay with her. She held back from commenting on his pattern of cheating and creating hostile environments in his own home. She doesn't need to fight with him or try to involve herself in his personal life again. All she needs to do is worry about her children. It's something that her therapist suggested and it's been helpful in these past several months.
“Ugh, I hope you boys never grow up!” She grins as she holds them tightly. She doesn't want to see them tall and ignoring her as teenagers. She doesn't think she can handle the rejection. She likes them small and adoring her.
“Ms. Wanda!” Rachel runs towards them instead of her mom who is standing a few feet away. She joins in on the hug. “Is Tommy and Billy's daddy on a trip again?” She says as she looks up at Wanda.
Wanda laughs, “Something like that. Where's your mom?” She looks around the playground until she finds Jean walking towards them.
“Hey! It's been a while since I've seen you,” she greets happily. Wanda has to pretend like she doesn't know the stunt that Jean tried to pull several months ago. The last thing she heard about your situation with your ex-wife was that things were getting better since the two of you started to focus on Rachel. Wanda thought that it was great that the two of you were getting along again, but she wasn’t quick to forgive what Jean tried to do to you.
“Hey, Jean! It has been too long,” Wanda greets politely. Rachel steps away from Wanda and greets her mom with a hug that is just as tight. “How is everything?”
“Oh I'm sure Y/n keeps you well informed,” Jean replies. It was true for the months that you were single and a couple of months after you found out about the weirdest kidnapping she'd ever heard of. But it hasn't been true for some time. Wanda is lucky if she can get an update on your life as it is. You have been occupying most of your time with Nebula. If it weren't for a couple of orders coming in from your online shop, she wouldn't see you at all.
Unfortunately, even though you're working in her backyard on the weekends, the two of you don't talk much. She isn't sure if it's you pulling away or her but it hurt either way.
“Not really,” Wanda says without her expression wavering.
“Oh! Um, I've been doing well. How-How have you been?” She asks as she runs her fingers through Rachel's hair.
“I've been really great lately, yeah,” Wanda looks down at the boys with a soft smile. “I keep getting extra time with my boys which is fantastic.” She looks up at Jean again. Her eyes do a small scan of the woman. She is in her work attire but there is a coffee stain on her shirt that is poking out of her blazer. She has dark circles under her eyes. She looks tired even with a smile on her face. “We should catch up sometime,” Wanda says politely. Jean looks like she could use a friend. Thinking of it now, other than you, Wanda isn't sure that she's heard of Jean having friends. Maybe she has friends with her wife? She isn't sure. And right now, you're not in the best position to be her friend.
“I'd like that a lot,” Jean replies. Her smartwatch starts to buzz and she sighs. “Work is calling. I have to get going. Come on love bug,” she takes Rachel's hand and starts walking towards the parking lot.
“Are you guys ready to go home?” Wanda asks her kids and they both nod. She guides them out to her car in the parking lot.
You are sitting alone on your couch on a Friday night thinking about Wanda. You've been doing everything that you can to give yourself some space from her. Nebula eventually asked about your friendship with Wanda during one of your dates with her months ago. The two of you were eating gelaties, a flavored Italian ice with frozen custard on top. You were enjoying the sweet flavors of mango ice combined with vanilla custard as well as the smooth textures of the treat. There wasn't a treat quite like it. Nebula was enjoying their blue raspberry ice topped with cotton candy-flavored custard.
“So, are you and Wanda just friends?” She asked seemingly out of the blue. You weren't sure where the question was coming from. At the moment, you ran through every conversation you'd had with Nebula until that point to see if you mentioned Wanda more than you should have. But you can't come up with a number.
“Truthfully?” You asked as you mixed the vanilla custard further into the mango ice.
“No, lie to me,” she quipped with a slight smirk.
“Okay, fair enough,” you took a deep breath. “I've considered becoming more than friends with her. But it was complicated. Then she made it less complicated when she rejected me.” You didn't want to lie to her the way that you were lying to Daisy. It nearly killed you during that time.
Nebula got quiet and her smirk disappeared. Even with the shop being busy with other customers ordering. Chats happened at the surrounding tables. Everything felt still in her silence. Everyone seemed to vanish completely, leaving only the two of you, sitting in an empty Rita’s alone.
You watched her as you swirled your spoon around in your cup. She seemed to be in deep thought. You felt a slight panic tighten your chest and churn your stomach.
“Is that a problem?” You finally asked.
Nebula’s distinctive eyes connected with yours again. “No,” she answered.
You couldn't tell if she was being honest or not. But you didn't question her. You just made a promise to yourself that you weren't going to allow your feelings to continue to grow for Wanda. A task that was easier said than done.
You started small. Ignoring a text from her here and there. Well, not completely ignoring them. You just wouldn't respond as fast as you normally would. Then you stopped going by as much. Rachel's therapy appointments made it easier to stay away from Wanda’s for some time. But eventually, you began to miss her. You would call her whenever you got a chance to check-in. Then you fell asleep talking to her on the phone one night and you had to pull back on that as well.
As fate would have it, you received two custom orders which meant you had to spend time at Wanda’s. She was excited when you told her that you had two projects to work on. The two of you embraced each other tightly. You closed your eyes and breathed her in. You missed her scent. You missed the way her body felt against yours. You missed her laugh. You missed her smile.
You had to build more boundaries. Whenever you came to work in the shed in the backyard, you never went through the house. Even if you had Rachel with you. She would walk through the front door and you would slip in through the gate on the side of the house. You’d bring lunch and you'd leave before dinner. Wanda never bothered you. She seemed to understand that the two of you needed time apart from each other.
The more you pushed yourself away from her. The more she invaded your every thought. You swore you could feel something pulling you towards her. It made nights like these difficult. Shortly after your conversation with her about Wanda, Nebula stated that the two of you were dating and non-exclusive. You were a little thrown off because you thought that she only wanted to see you. But you had to face the fact that she wasn't the only person you wanted to see. So you didn't get upset or argue. You accepted the status of the relationship. Nebula is on a date right now and all you want to do is be with Wanda. You wonder how much of her time Nebula is going to continue to waste on you.
You open and close your phone multiple times. Hoping for a message from someone, anyone, so that you can get your mind to stop thinking about Wanda and what she might be doing tonight. That's when your mind gets stuck on the idea that she also might be on a date with someone. To your knowledge, she doesn't have the kids this week so she's available.
You start to imagine her sitting in front of someone with her smile and it hurts. You don't want her to be with anyone else. But you do want her to be happy. You shake your head turn on the television and scroll through the streaming channels. You don't know what you're in the mood to watch.
You throw on a movie you've heard about for years but never got around to watching. Your stomach rumbles so you get up and go to the kitchen to make something. As you start cooking, you imagine Wanda coming up behind you and wrapping her arms around your waist. It's so real you can feel it. Then you try to picture anyone else but you can't. You've had moments like that with Jean and with Daisy. But you couldn't visually remember them. You close your eyes for a second and sigh as you think about Wanda leaning her head against your back. You think about how you would lift your arm to get her to slip under and rest her head on your chest. You think about how you would kiss her as she hugged you from the side.
The aroma of your food cooking snaps you out of the fantasy. You focus on cooking so that you don’t burn the building down daydreaming about your friend. As you sit in front of the television you realize that you left the movie playing so you start it from the beginning and pay attention while you eat.
As you watch the movie, you start to imagine Wanda curled up next to you watching the movie with you. When you try to get rid of that image and focus on the movie, your mind wanders back to what she is doing tonight. Who is she with? Is she seeing anyone? Is she back to hooking up with random people?
What if she was hooking up with you? You wonder.
As the couple in the movie confess their feelings to each other you stop paying attention and start to think about being in Wanda's house. The both of you a bit tipsy from the Sokovian vodka. Her favorite because it reminds her of her parents and their culture. You're making her laugh because she gets your sense of humor. Then there's a moment when her eyes connect with yours. And nothing is holding either of you back.
You kiss her and she holds your face to keep you close. You crawl closer to her and she falls back. You try to hover over her as you continue to kiss her but she pulls you on top of her because she wants you as close to her as possible. She needs you as close to her as possible.
You look down at your hands as you imagine what her breasts would feel like. How firm is it? How soft? Would she prefer that you squeeze it roughly or would she like a gentle massage? You lick your lips as you imagine her nipples. How hard they would be. You think about tracing them with your tongue. You wonder what her sweat would taste like.
You shove your hand in your pants to touch yourself as your mind continues to torture you with images of her. Your lips on her abdomen. The way her face would contort from the pleasure. Seeing how she might bite her lips to stifle her sighs. Your senses don't stop there. You start to hear her sighs. Her soft moans. Maybe she’d call out your name when you're doing something wrong. Or she'll beg you for more. You swear you can smell her now. Then finally, as you start to reach your climax, you imagine what her juices tastes like. You think about how you'd perform cunnilingus right then and there. Because there are no kids to worry about. No one to interrupt. It's just you and Wanda.
You reach your orgasm and breathe heavily as you come down from your high. The image of Wanda fades from your mind. You sit there for a moment. Reminding yourself of where you are. Then you feel disgusting. How could you think of your friend like that? She is your friend and nothing more. You quickly get up and go to your bathroom to wash your hands. You change your underwear and replace your jeans with sweatpants.
There wasn't a mess on the couch but you feel guilty for getting off on the couch your daughter watches her cartoons on and remove the covers on the cushions to throw in the wash. The movie’s credits roll and you flip on a random sitcom to try and lighten your mood. You sit on the single chair that matches your couch as you wait for the washer to be done.
You sigh as you think about what you need to change in your life. Then there is a knock on your door. You check your watch as you frown. It's pretty late. You rack your brain as you consider the possibilities of people on the other side of the door. There's another knock, this one a little more rapid. You get up and shut off the television. You peer through the peephole in the door before quickly opening it.
“Jean, what's wrong?” You ask as you let her and Rachel inside.
“Anna and I got in a really big argument and we just couldn't stay there,” Jean says as she walks through the door.
“Hey bug,” you smile at your confused and sleepy daughter. It was way past her bedtime and she was in her pajamas. You lift her in your arms and carry her to her bedroom. You tuck her into bed and close the door to her room. You look down at the door handle and sigh. You shake your head. You really hope this doesn't affect the progress that has been made over the last couple of months. You're going to contact her therapist in the morning after you get all of the details from Jean.
“What happened to your couch?” Jean asks as she takes your spot in the chair. She has makeup all over her face. Her eyes are bloodshot and her cheeks are puffy. You scan her face to look for any signs of a slap or worse. You don't see any and you hope, for your daughter's sanity, that Jean didn't strike Anna. She might not be as understanding of something like that.
“I spilled something on it and threw the covers in the wash,” you sit on the coffee table in front of her. You try to keep your gaze soft and stay patient. But you really needed to know what happened and why Jean thought it was a good idea to not only leave her home in the middle of an argument with her wife but stay at her ex’s for the night. Disrupting your daughter's sleep in the process.
She keeps her eyes locked on the stripped cushions on the couch. The corner of her mouth lifts. “Remember when we bought our first couch?” She starts softly and you can tell that her vocal chords are exhausted. You wonder how long she was in a screaming match with Anna. “It was white because it just had to be. It was the first big purchase we made with my discount at the store. Your grandma told us to wrap it in plastic and neither of us listened. We could hardly afford it at the time, but she offered to loan her set until we could.”
You nod as you remember exactly what memory she is thinking of. “I remember,” you say softly. “You refused because you thought it looked tacky. But Rachel was two and constantly walking and running around. That sofa was covered in so many different colors of food stains before the end of the year, it became an entirely new couch.” You start to laugh as you're reminded of how horrible the smell was. “Gosh it took us months to get rid of the smell even after we tossed the damn thing out.”
“Oh gosh,” Jean covers her face as she starts to laugh. “Don't remind me, I still sometimes think the smell is lingering in the house.” She moves her fingers through her hair and takes a deep breath. “Anna isn't so sure that she wants to be part of this family anymore,” Jean finally admits.
“I'm sure the two of you will work it out,” you say to comfort her. There isn't much else you can say to her about it. This isn't the first time that Anna has expressed wanting to leave Jean. A few weeks before their wedding, Anna had even disappeared for two days after an argument then came back as if nothing had happened. “Come on, I'll get you set up in my room. I'll take the couch,” you say as you offer her your hand while you stand up from the coffee table. Jean takes your hand with a small thank you.
“The argument was really bad. I know I shouldn't have left and I shouldn't have woken Rachel up but,” tears start to stream down Jean's cheeks again. “I just had to get out of there.” You nod and once you're in your room, you pull her in for a warm embrace.
“Jean, did you stop taking your medication when you decided you wanted a baby?” You ask softly as you continue to hold her. You don't want her to blow up at you for asking the question, so it's better to have her restrained in your arms.
She doesn't react the way you expect. She doesn't take offense to the question. She doesn't accuse you of trying to call her a bad mother. She doesn't deny having an episode. Jean breaks down into heavy sobs in your arms as she admits that both her and Anna decided to stop taking their medications just in case you came around to the idea. You hold her until she stops crying and leave her tucked into your bed. When the cushion covers are done washing, you throw them in the dryer and watch TV until they're done so that you don't have to worry about fixing up the cushions in the morning.
You pull out the bed that's in the couch and make it nice for yourself to sleep on. When everything is fixed up the way you like it, you shut off the TV and turn off the lights. You check the lock on the door before climbing into bed. You look at your phone one last time before you officially call it a night. No new messages. You sigh and scroll through social media for a little bit. When you land on a video you find funny, you send it to Wanda first. Then you send it to Nebula.
In the morning, you wake up to two notifications, one from Nebula being critical about the video you sent her and the other from Wanda thanking you for the laugh. You respond to Nebula first and ask why she didn’t find it funny and a few minutes later you’re reading a novel of reasons why the video is offensive. You don’t have any idea what to respond with so you decide to make coffee in hopes that it will help you come up with something.
But as you make coffee, Jean wakes up and joins you for a cup. You talk to her about the fight she had with her wife and she breaks down as she reveals that last night was the biggest fight but that there have been many over the months since they can't afford the other options to have a kid. You get even more side tracked when Rachel wakes up and you help Jean make breakfast for everyone. It reminds you of the past. Being a small family of three when the most drama in your life was being a young parent and spouse.
Rachel doesn't say much about last night. Just that she was confused when she woke up in this bed and not the bed at her other home. “Hey Rachel guess what,” you say with a little smirk and you watch her take a bite of her toast. Her eyes widen as the both of you rush to say, “I love you,” first. She spits toast crumbs as she does, some land on the table and some splatter on her mom.
“Gross!” Jean complains as she uses napkins to wipe her arm. “You did that on purpose, Y/n.” You and Rachel share a laugh. It was a little game that started when she was a toddler and learning how to speak. It began because whenever Jean was feeling affectionate, she would come up to you and say, “Guess what?” You would pretend to be clueless because you wanted to hear her say it and she would say, “I love you, you idiot.”
Rachel began to pick up on it and she would start to say, “Baba, guess what?” In her little voice. You would smile and respond with, “I love you,” at the same time as she would. Eventually it became a competition of who could say it faster. It was endearing to hear your baby girl get frustrated while telling you that she loved you.
It has survived all of these years and you fear the day that she rolls her eyes and reminds you that she's not a kid anymore.
“I don't know what you're talking about,” you say to Jean as you help clean up the crumbs from the table.
“Whatever,” she shakes her head with a light laugh. She looks at her plate of food and smiles as she is thrown back into so many good memories of being a family. “I'm sad that I forgot about that,” she admits as she looks over at Rachel who is completely focused on her breakfast now. Jean starts to comb her fingers through her daughter’s soft red hair. She recalls how excited she was when her daughter's hair started to grow out as red as her own. Rachel took after her for the most part but there is still a lot of you in her. Her smile is yours. Her nose is yours. Her ears are all you. As much as you try to pin those on Jean.
“It's not really your game,” you say from the kitchen where you're tossing the used napkins into the trash bin. “I’d have been surprised if you did remember it.” You say as you return to your seat to finish your breakfast.
Jean rests her elbow on the table and sets her chin on the palm of her hand as she watches you. She can't help but feel a little regretful for not working harder on the marriage she had with you. As you eat, you become aware of her gaze on you. With a confused frown you look at her and she gives you an apologetic expression before she clears her throat and goes back to eating her food. You ignore it.
Anna is sitting in her kitchen all alone, slowly sipping her tea. She ia taking the time alone to consider if this is what she wants. She did this before her wedding day. She was getting anxious about fully commiting herself to Jean and to becoming a stepmom and figuring out where she fits into this family that she joined. So she took a weekend to run off and get a hotel room. She sat in her hotel room alone for the most part.
At some point, she went to the indoor pool to people watch. There were little kids that needed more parental supervision than they had. She nearly had a heart attack watching a toddler fall into the deep end of the pool. She quickly swooped the little guy into her arms and returned him to the fearful mother. The woman thanked her profusely but Anna waved her off and found herself saying, “I’m a mom too. I would hope that someone wouldn't watch and let my daughter drown.” The woman got excited and wanted to hear more about the daughter that Anna wasn't sure she should commit to. Anna happily talked and bragged about Rachel and realized how easy it was. Then the woman's husband pulled her away because they had plans to get to.
Anna was left alone again. She sat on one of the chairs and continued to watch people. There were two girls that were being bothered by a single guy. The girls themselves were single but weren't interested in him. Anna looked down at her engagement ring and knew she didn't want to be single anymore.
Anna looks at her rings now. She still doesn't want to be single. Her chest feels heavy not having Rachel bounce around the kitchen waiting for breakfast. She misses hearing the cartoons on the television. She misses her wife's presence. She doesn't know why she is pushing away her family as much as she has been. She just feels like she didn't understand what she was signing up for. She buzzes air past her lips as she thinks about how everyone has told her that the first year of marriage is the hardest.
She never wanted to believe them but everyone was right. Even Jean said it. Anna would just roll her eyes and remind Jean that she was a lot longer the first time around.
As a test, she removes her rings and sets them on the counter space in front of her. She looks at her naked hand and considers leaving them off. But she quickly shoves the rings back on and grabs her keys. She needed advice and the person she sought advice from the most was her mom.
Wanda is sitting with Agatha as they meet for brunch with their boys running around Agatha’s house. “Are you planning on going to that fundraiser?” Wanda asks as she takes a sip of her orange juice.
Agatha rolls her eyes at being reminded of the event, “As much fun as it would be to remind everyone who the life of the party is. I was planning on going but then my mother called. She fell and sprained her wrist.” Wanda shows her concern and Agatha waves her off. “She'll be fine. She sprained her wrist years ago and when she's lonely she throws the brace back on and calls me in a panic.” She drinks her apple juice. “I don't always go but she wants to see Nick before he gets shipped off to that summer camp that his father found. So I'm going to drive up and spend that week with them.”
“Damn, I was hoping that we could go together,” Wanda frowns as she picks at the paint chipping from her finger nails.
“You wanted to go this year? Even with Vision and his child bride attending?” Agatha leans in, intrigued as she looks her friend up and down. “I see, you want an excuse to see Y/n.”
“Or maybe make them jealous,” Wanda says shyly as she moves the scraps around her plate. It’s becoming apparent to her that no matter what, she wants to be with you. She made the mistake of guarding her heart and telling you to find someone else. She wasn't ready to accept that someone as genuine as you exists. In the back of her mind, she couldn't trust that you are good. She was afraid that you wouldn’t stay good once you were in a relationship with her. She was afraid that you would change the way that Vision did.
When Wanda realized that Vision was never good, she was able to stop putting that fear in you. She was able to see the light and see that the only thing keeping her from her happiness is herself.
“Oh? Please elaborate on that,” Agatha scoots closer to Wanda.
The brunette shrugs, “I don't know. I was thinking about showing up in some stunning dress. Maybe get my hair done. Kind of go all out.”
“Were you thinking about getting a date? You have to have a date,” Agatha suggests as she gets excited about the idea.
“I don't know, would that be too much?” Wanda drinks her orange juice as she considers the idea.
“Honey, Y/n will probably be there with that Nebula girl, right?” Agatha reminds her. “Why should you show up alone?”
“I don't know, Agatha, that feels… I don't know… so high school,” Wanda resists.
Agatha picks up her phone as she goes through her contact list. “Babe, I'm serious. I'm going to get you some serious arm candy. There's this new guy at work that just moved here from New York. He's blind, but he's cute enough. Definitely someone that will have Y/n-”
“Hold on, did you just say he's cute enough for a blind guy?” Wanda scoffs, a little shocked by her friend's insensitivity.
Agatha rolls her eyes, “No, he's cute enough to get the job done and he's blind. Just, don't worry about a thing. I will set up the blind date. But I'll make sure he's not blind to the setup.” Agatha snickers a bit, proud of her puns and Wanda shakes her head as she finishes her orange juice.
On the night of the fundraiser you leave Rachel with Jean who was still staying at your apartment while she worked things out with Anna. They have talked since their big fight but they agreed to spend some more time separated from each other. You don't know why Jean and Rachel couldn't stay at the house. It was their house first. But Anna doesn't have anywhere to go so you dealt with it. Under the condition that Jean started her medication again. To your knowledge, she is taking them. You don't check under her tongue or anything but she does make a point to show you that she is taking them in the morning and at night.
Because of this, you haven't been able to see Nebula since Rachel doesn't know that you're dating again and you don't want her knowing about Nebula yet since it was a big deal with Daisy. But she knows about tonight’s event. Thanks to her school, you're able to go on a date with Nebula.
You knock on the door with a single flower in your hand. “Wow,” you say as you admire her beauty and her outfit. She is beautiful. “You look fantastic,” you compliment as you hold out the flower to her.
She smiles as she smells it. “Thank you,” she sets it in her key bowl by the table. “I’ll put it in a vase later. It's supposed to rain soon.” As if on cue a loud clap of thunder rings out while she locks her door.
“Wow, I had no idea,” you say as you walk her to your car. “I didn't see that in the forecast earlier,” I frown as I check my phone before starting the car. Sure enough gray clouds with lightning bolts and cartoon rain appear on the weather app for the next few hours. “Huh, I guess you do have to check it more than once.”
“I told you,” Nebula says with a smile. She kisses your cheek as you start the car. “I’ve missed you these past couple of weeks.”
“I missed you too,” you aren't lying, you're simply omitting the small detail that you've missed Wanda more. “It's been so weird living with Jean again. I can honestly say, I don't miss being married to her and actually be certain of that for once.”
Nebula laughs and connects her phone to the Bluetooth in the car to play her music. The two of you sing along to the songs the entire drive to the venue. It starts to sprinkle a bit as you get closer to the event.
Wanda is pacing back and forth in her underwear on a three way video call with Carol and Agatha. Her room is a mess of dresses, pant suits, and shoes. She hasn't even made it as far as accessories. “I don't know! I thought the dress I bought last week was the revenge dress but it's hideous! Y/n would never like something like that!”
Carol puts her face in her hands and groans. “Wanda we know how to make you look hot for anyone. We don't know how to make you look specifically hot for Y/n. We like them but neither of us have tried to get in their pants.”
“Speak for yourself,” Agatha quips.
“Agatha!” Wanda and Carol scold her.
“What? I have eyes don't I? Besides, that was before I knew Wanda was serious about them. Y/n turned me down every time, relax,” Agatha says. “Why don't you try the purple dress? The one you wore to that one thing that one time.”
“Because that's helpful,” Carol mutters.
“Oh yeah! The booby one, okay I'll be right back, one of you add someone who might know what Y/n will find attractive.” Wanda says as she runs off to her walk-in closet to find the purple dress.
“How? How do you do it Agatha? I swear I sent her pictures and she still couldn't remember the dresses I suggested! You say that one you wore that one time and she gets it!”
“I'm just that good,” Agatha says.
“I only have one purple dress because Agatha got it for me for Christmas,” Wanda shouts from her closet.
“That too,” Agatha says.
“Who can we add?” Carol says as she thinks about who they know that knows Y/n best.
“Jean?” Agatha suggests.
“Ew, no,” Wanda says as she steps out of the closet in the dress. “I don't want to ask her to make me look hot for her ex.”
“I'm just saying, they've known each other their whole lives,” Agatha reminds her friends.
“I don't think she'd be much help because based on the stories they've told, Jean didn't have to do much for Y/n’s attention,” Carol adds.
“Hmm, that's true,” Agatha ponders. “What about Darcy? Didn't they try dating at one point?” She suggests next.
“They did?” Wanda and Carol say in unison.
“You ladies are so full of yourselves sometimes. You know, you girls could benefit from paying attention when people speak,” Agatha shakes her head. “Screw it, I'm adding her to the call.”
“Wait,” Wanda tries to stop her but the call is already going through. Darcy answers in her pitch black bedroom.
“Who the hell is - oh hi guys! What the hell is wrong with you? It's one in the morning!” Darcy groans as she turns on the lamp on her nightstand. The bright light reveals more of her setting and more of her than anyone expected to see when she turned on the light.
“Uh Darcy, nip slip,” Carol says as she points at the screen. Darcy pulls her sheets further up and a deeper groan follows as a man's back appears in the background. “Oh, my, who is that?” Carol asks with a laugh.
“It's your fault you called me at one in the morning on a Friday night,” Darcy defends herself.
“In our defense, you didn't have to answer,” Agatha points out.
“Ladies! Focus! My escort is supposed to arrive here in thirty minutes!” Wanda tries to keep everyone in line.
“Right, Darcy! We need your help making Wanda look good for Y/n,” Carol informs Darcy of the reason they disrupted her sleep.
“Oh, I know what could make Wanda look good,” Darcy starts, “she could find a time machine, then go back to the night she rejected Y/n and not do that.”
“Oh come on,” Agatha says.
“Low blow,” Carol says.
“This was a bad idea,” Wanda falls onto the front of her bed.
“Okay, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I thought that I had to but I didn't,” Darcy says as she sits up and yawns. “What can I do to help?”
“There's a fundraiser for the kids' school and I want to wow Y/n into leaving with me instead of Nebula,” Wanda explains. “But I don't know what kind of outfit will do that!”
“Y/n is very simple to please, if you showed up in just one of their shirts and nothing else, they'd marry you on the spot,” Darcy says as if it's obvious that you're not a difficult person.
“Yeah, like Wanda has one of Y/n’s shirts,” Agatha laughs. Wanda gets quiet and looks at the corner of her room where a shirt she kept is lying on the floor. She had been wearing it to bed lately and it no longer smells like you. But she wasn't willing to let it go yet. “Wanda! Are you serious?” Agatha shouts into the phone.
“Calm down, I didn't steal it. I just didn't return it when I found it. But that's besides the point. I'm not showing up to a school event in a T-shirt. We have to do better than that ladies!” Wanda says as she stands up and lets the dress fall to the floor.
“Wow so my nipples are a problem but we're getting the whole show from Wanda and no one is saying anything?” Darcy gripes.
Carol rolls her eyes, “We're far past that by now Lewis.”
“Whatever, do you have any black dresses?” Darcy asks.
“Like a million of them,” Agatha moans, shaking her head, exhausted by this conversation.
“Y/n appreciates a little black dress. I bet you anything that Nebula is wearing a red dress,” Darcy defends her suggestion.
“No, my connection at the school sent me a picture of when they arrived. Nebula is wearing blue,” Agatha says with her phone close to her face as she sends the image to the group.
“Wait!” Darcy says a little too loud, disturbing the man in her bed. “Shut up you big baby,” she rolls her eyes at him. “Look, do you see Y/n’s tie?” Darcy asks with her phone close to her face and the camera at a bad angle again.
“Yeah, what about it?” Agatha questions, not really concerned about the tie as much as she should be.
“Wait, I want to see,” Carol's view changes as well and Wanda is standing and staring at the worst angles of her friends as they look at the image on their phones. “Oh I see,” Carol says.
“I get it now,” Agatha agrees.
“What?” Wanda asks, growing annoyed with her friends.
“Wanda, grab the velvet suit from the back of the closet. The one you wore to that holiday party at my work three years ago,” Agatha directs Wanda. “You're going to show up ready to match Y/n. If that suit doesn't work, then it's their loss. That suit almost turned me.”
“I agree, that suit is magic on you,” Carol says as she remembers seeing pictures of her friend in that suit.
“Carol, stop drooling over Wanda and get ready for dinner with my parents,” Valkyrie says in the background.
“Alright,” Carol sighs, she's not very fond of her fiancee’s conservative family. “Y’all heard the misses. I've got to go. Good luck Maximoff,” she bids everyone goodbye before ending the call.
“I should go too, I have an early morning,” Darcy says before she hangs up.
The screen is just Agatha with Wanda in the corner of her phone. “I should go too so that you're not distracted. Have a good night Wanda. I want all of the dirty details tomorrow,” she ends the conversation altogether leaving Wanda on her own to finish getting ready.
It's not too long before there's a knock on Wanda's door. She opens it and is surprised by the man that stands before her. He is more than she expected, she feels a little speechless. “I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I'm in the right place. Are you Wanda Maximoff?” The handsome stranger with the red tinted glasses asks.
“Uh, um, yes, that's me. Sorry, hi. You're,” Wanda is spacing on his name for a moment then remembers Agatha making a doormat joke about him. She clears her throat to clear her stutter. “I'm assuming that you're Matt, correct.”
He smiles and Wanda can't help but blush at his charming grin. “Yes I am,” he says. “I'm assuming that I'm not what you expected?” His tone is sweet as he steps back from the front door. Anticipating for Wanda to walk with him to the waiting car.
“Honestly? Not really,” Wanda replies as she locks her front door. Agatha really downplayed Matt’s good looks.
“Ah, I see. Is it safe to assume that Agatha forgot to mention the detail that I am blind?” He extends his elbow to her when he feels her get close to him and Wanda accepts it, wrapping her hands at the crook of his elbow. She walks him towards the car while he holds his folded up guide stick in his hand.
“No, I knew that part. She mentioned that right away. But she didn't mention how handsome you were, she said something along the lines of ‘he’s not bad looking for a blind guy.’ Plus all of the ‘blind date’ puns that she was able to work with.” Matt laughs, humored and flattered by the story about his abrasive co-worker.
“Ah, that's interesting. I don't think I've ever exceeded expectations in that department before. I would have thought she asked me to be your fake date because of my charms and looks.” The two enter the car. “She paid for this ride by the way, she wanted me to stress that.”
“I owe her big time,” Wanda says as she lets go of Matt's arm. This was going to be an interesting night for her.
At the fundraiser, you walk around a biding table with Nebula. You can't donate much since you're still paying off Rachel's medical bills and the apartment complex you live in is trying to raise your rent. You're under negotiations but it's looking like no matter what, it's still going to cost you. There isn't much else that you can do other than make it look like you're going to give this school money when they hardly wanted to do anything for your daughter in her time of need.
Nebula quickly pulls you over to the food as the line shortens and the pair of you fill your plates with as much food as they can handle. There aren't many parents that you know at the school because your daughter only hangs out with Billy and Tommy outside of school. At least to your knowledge. That left you finding a random and unclaimed table to stand at with Nebula as you tried to make the most out of the evening.
As the band played covers of popular songs you kept your focus on the woman with you as she became the most entertaining person in the room. That was until something made your eyes subtly scan the room where they inevitably land on Wanda walking in with a man attached to her arm. She's dating? Is your first thought. Your second thought is, That is one hell of a suit.
You quickly return your attention to Nebula but you can't focus on her. She is beautiful, of course, but Wanda is stunning. You can't help but search for her again and feel entirely captivated by her gaze as her eyes meet yours. It takes all of your strength to break the contact.
“We can go say hi,” Nebula says as she pushes around the food on her plate that she didn't like.
“I'm sorry, it's just been so awkward walking around here not knowing anyone,” you say to cover up the fact that you want to switch places with the man that arrived with Wanda. She's never mentioned the guy and she shows up in an outfit matching his glasses. It's unbelievable. It's infuriating.
Wanda’s heart races nervously as she catches your gaze for a moment. She clenches her jaw when you kiss Nebula on the lips. Her pink lipstick stains your lips and she has to clean it off with her thumb. That should be Wanda smiling and removing her lipstick from your lips. She should be the one holding your hand as you walk towards her. Her eyes widen slightly as she realizes that you're walking towards her.
“So what were you telling me about your friend again?” Wanda asks as she tries to strike up a conversation so that it doesn't look obvious that she's here on a mission.
“Are they walking towards us?” Matt asks with an amused smirk.
“Yeah,” Wanda shamelessly admits. She has nothing to hide from Matt. He knows what he's here for. They talked about it at length in the car because she really didn't want to take advantage of him. Matt assured her that really didn't mind.
“So I was telling my friend, Foggy, that just because I can't see doesn't mean I can't-”
“Hey Wanda,” you make a point to interrupt their conversation. “Who is this?” You ask as you move your hand from holding Nebula's to holding her hip.
“Matthew Murdock,” he holds his hand out and you give him a polite shake. “Most people call me Matt. And behind my back some call me Blind Matt,” he jokes and you try to refrain from reacting to his disability. You didn't realize that he was visually impaired. Then you see his guide stick and instantly feel guilty for mentally villainizing him.
“People tend to call me Queer Y/n when I tell them my preferred pronouns,” you retort to get a laugh out of him. “Although, Wanda made it obvious to everyone when I lost a bet and she chose to cut my hair into a mullet,” you continue and this makes Matt laugh.
“I haven't thought about a mullet since my accident. And there's not much that I don't miss the sight of but that has to be one of the things I don't miss seeing, no offense,” he says, making the three of you laugh.
“None taken, I was really happy when she finally gave me the okay to get my haircut again,” you say as you run your fingers through your short hair.
“That's funny, I didn't know you had to wait for her permission,” Nebula says as she sizes up Wanda.
“It was her prize from the bet,” you shrug as if the reason was obvious. “Of course I have to ask for permission.”
“You didn't have to,” Wanda clarifies as she reaches out and squeezes your shoulder with a laugh, “I appreciate that you did but you're just that kind of person.” She looks over at Nebula with what you interpret as a warm smile. “You're very lucky to be dating someone like, Y/n,” she says.
The song starts to slow down and the singer invites the couples to slow dance on the dance floor since they're all here to enjoy a night off from the kids. Nebula starts to pull you away claiming to love the song that's being performed. You look back at Wanda as you follow Nebula to the dance floor. Her expression looks a little funny to you at first. You lose sight of her as people get in the way and remind yourself that you came here with Nebula. She has your undivided attention.
Wanda is hit with a pang of jealousy as Nebula pulls you away for a dance. She stops one of the waiters walking past her with a tray full of champagne flutes and she grabs two. She downs both of them and sets them on a nearby table. “How good are you at slow dancing?” She asks Matt.
“Let's go,” he says as he extends his arm out to her. They make their way to the dance floor and Wanda manages to find a spot where she can watch you. When she notices that she has caught your eye, she smiles at Matt.
You try not to show your jealousy as you lean back to gaze into Nebula's eyes. She does have very pretty eyes. You smile and she smiles back up at you. The next slow song plays and you recognize it almost immediately. It's one that your daughter likes to play in the car a lot. Your eyes find Wanda who is holding Matt close to her.
You can't focus on the pain that small act of intimacy is causing you. It's not fair to Nebula. It's not fair to Wanda, who seems very happy. It's not fair to yourself. But you can't tear your eyes away from her. Matt whispers something in her ear that makes her laugh. Even through the loud music and the crowd, her laugh spreads a warmth in your chest.
Wanda lets Matt spin her around during the song as she allows herself to focus on having fun with him instead. Tonight isn't the night to play games and hope that you ditch your date to be with her. She's an adult and she doesn't need to act like a child. She can have her moment with you another day. Tonight, she's going to have fun with someone that she has no ties to because Matt seems like a really great guy.
As the second song comes to an end, Wanda ends up facing your direction because of the way Matt spun her and her heart stops. You and Nebula are sharing a kiss but it's different. Your eyes are open and looking for Wanda. Are you playing a game too? She can't do this anymore. She starts to feel overwhelmed under your intense gaze. She wants you to look at her that way but not under these circumstances. She doesn't want to be playing these kinds of games. Not with you. Everything between the two of you hasn't felt as childish as it does right now.
“I'm sorry, Matt. I need some air,” Wanda says as she lets go of him. She helps him get off of the dance floor before she leaves the building.
You watch Wanda run out of the event without her date and you stop kissing Nebula. The woman in your arms pulls out the red handkerchief from the breast pocket of your jacket. She wipes your lips and sighs. “Go to her,” she says as she fixes your handkerchief.
“Nebula I-”
“Y/n, don't apologize. Go after her. She's your person. It's okay, I knew it was never me. This was fun while it lasted.” She gives you a kind smile as she pats your chest and dusts off your shoulders.
“You're amazing, you know that?” You say to her, at a loss for words. Not knowing how else to thank her for not making this difficult for you.
“I do, now go!” She turns you towards the direction of the exit and gives you a small shove. You laugh as you take her advice and start running toward the exit to try and catch Wanda before she gets too far away.
You look for her in the lobby but it's completely empty. Then you see her at the corner of the street waiting to cross. It's pouring outside but you can't care about that right now. You push the glass door open and run outside. “Wanda!” You call out to her just as a loud clap of thunder overpowers your voice. “Wanda! Wait!” You shout as you run to get closer but the cross signal has given her the go ahead to cross the street. You push yourself to run faster as the storm rages on.
The street is empty. There are no cars waiting for her to cross. There is no one outside on the sidewalks. This time it is just you and Wanda. So you don't hesitate when you stop her in the middle of the crosswalk and grab her wrist. You spin her so that her body crashes against yours. Neither of you have a moment to process before you press your lips against hers. As you kiss Wanda, you feel her melt in your arms. You feel as though everything in the world is falling into place. You feel a little dizzy kissing her, losing yourself completely in the way her lips collide against yours. Surrendering to the emotions that you’ve been repressing for too long. You love this woman and you can't deny it anymore.
The kiss breaks when both of you need to come up for air and a car honks at the pair of you. Wanda pulls you onto the sidewalk, across the street from the venue. “What was that?” Wanda shouts once the two of you are safe on the concrete. The rain is still coming down hard and it's not easy to hear without a raised volume.
“I’ve tried so hard to see you as just a friend,” you shout back, “but I can’t!” Wanda opens her mouth to say something but you don't want her to reject you again. “Before you say anything. Please let me finish. I’ve tried to be with other people. You’ve seen that! But you are the only person I want to be with. I love you, Wanda. I can’t- I won’t take it back this time.”
“Then don't,” Wanda says as she puts your hand on the back of your neck and pulls you in for another kiss. You excitedly swoop her in your arms and spin her around as you kiss her on the side walk in the pouring rain.
She giggles as you set her back down and lean your forehead against hers. “Can I take you home?” You ask her feeling a rush of emotions that you can't express out here. You want to be alone with her in a dry setting.
“Please,” she answers as she smiles up at you.
Hand in hand, the two of you run across the street to grab your car from the valet. As you wait in the lobby you watch Nebula escorting Matt out and you feel relieved about not having to worry about either of them. When you get into the car with Wanda, she kisses you on the lips again before you can start the engine. You can't believe this is real. But you don't ask her to pinch you. If this is a fantasy, you want to live in it forever.
Every red light that you hit on the way to her house, the two of you take the moment to kiss. As you drive, you have your hand on her thigh. Wanda almost regrets not wearing a dress so that she could tease you with more exposed skin. But she's also glad that she didn't because with the outfit she did wear, she managed to draw only your attention and not unwanted attention from others. That's what was most important to her.
It wasn't about being the hottest person in the room for her. It was about being the person that you wanted to leave with.
As the two of you stumble into her home, swept up in the heightened emotions of it all, she starts to get into her head a bit. The two of you fall onto her sofa with you on top. She wants this to work with you. She doesn't want this to end before it begins. As you kiss her neck she almost gives in and allows the two of you to release months of built up tension. But she can't get out of her head now.
“Wait,” she says as she pushes you back. “Wait, I can't do this right now.” She says between breaths. She hadn't realized how breathless she was until she could hardly catch her breath. She slips her body out from under yours and sits on the couch.
“I'm sorry,” you say as you pant and back away. “I shouldn't have gotten so carried away I thought-” you say as you stand up to leave.
“No wait,” Wanda quickly grabs your hand and tugs on your arm. “Stay, let me… let me collect my thoughts and we can talk.” Her big apologetic eyes pull you in and remove the fear and doubt from your mind. You sit next to her and wait for her to start. You give her the space to think about what she wants to communicate with you. She deserves to have this time. You can wait to hear her out as you sit by her with your fingers laced with hers. Both of you are still soaked from the rain. Her hair isn't as neat as when she arrived to the event and you're certain that you don't look nearly as put together as when you left your apartment.
“I love you too,” Wanda states first. “I'm in love with you,” her voice waivers this time and you can see tears building up. She clears her throat. “I want to be clear about that first. And I want you to stay with me tonight. I just don't think tonight is the night that we take things all the way.”
You nod, “Of course,” you say as you release your hand from hers and put your arm around her body. You press the side of your head to the top of hers and take a deep breath as she leans into your side. “Although, I will argue that spending the night would've been made easier if you got me out of these wet clothes. That's all I'm saying,” you jokingly point out and it makes Wanda laugh.
“That's right,” she looks down at her wet clothes and then at yours. She bites her lips as she thinks of a possible solution but she’s slightly scared of the answer. “Do you have anything in your car?”
“I didn't pack an overnight bag because my intention was to go home after,” you tell her and kiss her cheek. “How about this,” you start as you pull away to face her as you speak, “I get naked — hold on stay with me now — I get naked. Put the nice stuff on some hangers to air dry and I toss the things I can wear to bed in the dryer. And I hop in the shower so that you're not tempted by me until they're done.” Wanda laughs and rolls her eyes. Your tone is very light and humorous but it's a good suggestion.
“Okay,” Wanda nods in agreement.
“So I can sleep in my underwear?” You ask, just to take the extra step in getting her consent.
“Yes, you can sleep in your underwear,” she stands up from the couch and pulls you up with her. The two of you are giddy and giggle as you climb the stairs together. Neither of you tried to cross a line, you undress in her bathroom with the door shut and she waits until you announce that you're in the shower to collect your clothes. She starts with putting the white under shirt and your boxers into the dryer first before she focuses on properly hanging your clothing. She gets changed into dry clothes and hangs her wet clothing as well.
When the dryer is done she grabs a towel for you and neatly folds everything before she takes it to the bathroom. She announces that it's there for you when she leaves it. When you step out of the bathroom, she kisses you as she passes you so that she can shower and properly clean her face with her products.
You text Jean that you're not coming home tonight but you don't tell her who you're with and let her continue to assume that you're with Nebula as you wait for Wanda in her bed. Jean sends you a winking gif then some gifs with innuendos that make you laugh. You set your phone to charge next to Wanda's and settle into the bed that you've missed sleeping in.
When she joins you, she starts by laying on top of you to kiss you on the lips again. You're happy to respond to the kiss and hold back on growing too eager to turn it into anything more. “I love you,” Wanda says with a bright grin.
“I love you,” you say while wrapping her in your arms. You close your eyes and sigh. “I'm going to be really mad if this is all a dream,” you mutter, which makes Wanda laugh.
She looks down at you as her smile slowly drops and not because her happiness has faded but because she wants you to believe her. She wants you to understand that she is serious when she tells you that this isn't a fantasy. “Y/n,” she calls softly, you open your eyes and connect with her loving gaze, “this is real.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Hey, uh,” you clear your throat nervously, “hey, Wanda.” You call her attention. You are hosting your friends over for an impromptu pool party since your parents went out of town for the weekend. You haven’t been alone with Wanda in the past couple of weeks since you took her virginity. She told you the morning after that you have to make the next move. As an overthinker, you weren’t sure what that next move should be. Plus it didn't help that this is the first time you’ve been available in two weeks. There was an important project at work and your father was over working everyone to get it done in time for the expo this weekend.
The only contact you had with Wanda was a text here and there and whatever memes and funny videos she would send you the links to. Beyond that, you haven’t had a chance to make a move or talk about what you see in the near future for your relationship. You thought about inviting only her over and then asking her out in person. Only problem was that every time you typed out the message you thought of a reason not to send it. Then you thought about going over to her house with flowers and chocolates and asking her out that way. But that didn’t feel right either.
While you were working yourself up to text her, you got a new notification of another link from her. It was one of those trends of friends jumping into a pool to a song and you laughed and asked if she wanted to come over for a swim. Not realizing it was the group chat and everyone was more than happy to come over. You didn’t know how to tell them not to, so you let it be and figured this would be the best way to ask her.
Unfortunately that left zero time for the two of you to be alone. Any chance you got to talk to her was ruined by a number of friends. Especially her twin brother, Pietro. The two of you have been friends a little longer than you and Wanda but not as close. He is protective of her and he’s aware of her crush on you. He’s also aware of your rocky dating history and he’d rather not have his sister on that long list of ex lovers. So when he catches the two of you standing a little too close for his liking, he takes the opportunity to intervene.
You find it weird that he makes his way into every conversation you fail to start but you don't think much about it. You're just grateful to be given more time to find the words to ask Wanda out. You hate how hard this task has been so far. You and Wanda used to hang out and talk about anything and everything without any awkwardness. But this added pressure to treat her as special as she deserves to be and not really knowing how to do that has become draining.
Then the perfect opportunity arises when the two of you are putting together lunch for everyone. This time the group of friends are distracted with an intense game of pool volleyball. Wanda hums in acknowledgement as she chops vegetables.“Would you like to have dinner with me tonight?” You finally ask.
“Sure,” she answers simply as she keeps her focus on the vegetables, “there's this movie I've been dying to show you while you've been busy. I know, I know, it kind of goes against the whole-”
“Wanda,” you interrupt her. “That's not what I meant. I um,” you bite your lip as you consider your next words carefully. You move from the kitchen island where you were preparing the meat for the burgers and make your way over to the counter where she is. “I meant like you and me, we get dressed up and go to a nice restaurant and share a meal…” you stop in front of her and lean on the counter. “I pick you up instead of us meeting there. We talk, we flirt, maybe I even get to kiss you at the end of the night.” You describe what you want to do with her instead of simply stating the simple word of what it is.
Wanda drops the knife as she tries to contain her excitement. She wants to jump up and down and scream her answer over and over but the intense look you are giving her reminds her of the night the two of you slept together and she knows now is not the time for that. “Ah so you're asking me out on a date?” She asks to clarify as butterflies flutter around in her stomach.
“Yes, I'm asking you on a proper date,” you confirm as you play with a strand of her wet hair.
“Okay,” she says in a sweet tone. “My answer is still yes. But um, Y/n, we've already slept together. You can do more than end the night with a kiss,” she leans against your body and whispers in your ear. “I have been craving your cock for two weeks.”
You gulp as you clench your hand into a fist and imagine the worst thing you can so you don't get an erection. “Well then um,” you clear your throat and step back as you get flustered. There are too many people here waiting for food. “I will um… we'll see where the night takes us.” You feel the twitching in your dick as it remembers being inside of Wanda without any barriers and it gets excited at the idea of it happening again. “I um, I need to use the restroom. Uh have Peter start the grill will you? Thanks.”
Wanda laughs to herself with a shake of her head as you slip out of the kitchen. You make your way to the restroom in your bedroom as your boner stands at attention. “Shit!” As much as you try, your thoughts aren't enough to get rid of it. So you grab the old pornographic magazine you kept hidden in the bathroom and lube up your hand with the sensation lube you keep to make yourself sensitive. Times like these didn't matter how long you lasted, you just needed to get rid of the thing.
You start stroking your cock to the naked image of some random woman but it does nothing for you. So you slam the magazine shut and toss it in the trash bin. This was no use to you now. You've been with the girl or your dreams and it was better than anything you could have ever imagined. You shut your eyes as you recall that night. The surprise hand job and the surprise blow job that followed. Oh how good her mouth felt on your cock. You pump your hand harder as you remember kissing her for the first time and having your tongue inside of her. Oh the way she tastes. You're craving it now. You remember trying to keep her quiet and there was an element of the secrecy that brought you closer to the edge.
You remember how tight she felt as you entered her for the first time and you squeeze your cock just enough to mimic the feeling but there was no fooling your body. This is your hand and not Wanda's pussy. Then a new image pops in your hand. A fantasy that you wish to see happen.
Wanda knocks on the bathroom door to startle you before she walks in. She giggles as you hold your chest with your cock hanging out of your swim shorts. “You look like you need a hand with that.” She says as she gets on her knees. She replaced your hand with her soft delicate hands. That alone brings you closer. She strokes your cock for a moment before she takes you in her mouth. Your eyes roll to the back of your head at the feeling of her lips sucking on your cock.
“Wanda, I'm close,” you gasp out as she continues to suck on you.
Wanda pulls off and looks at you with her big green eyes that have darkened with desire. “Good, I want to taste your cum.” She says and puts her mouth on you again.
As you cum in the fantasy, you cum inside of your toilet in real life. “Oh fuck,” you say as you catch your breath. “I am in trouble,” you mutter to yourself as you clean up. You return to your friends and stay away from Wanda as much as possible. She made it impossible to stay soft in her light orange two piece bathing suit.
Later that evening, you're in a nice suite and tie. Your hair is still a little damp from your shower. A very cold shower at that. Not that your dick minded. On the bright side, after cumming three times already today, you're hoping you'll last longer for Wanda. That is, if things go that far tonight. As you get out of the car to make your way up to the front steps, Wanda comes running out of her house in an oversized sweatshirt, that you're pretty sure is yours, and sweatpants with an overnight bag. “Oh, I was just coming up to-”
“No need, my parents think you're giving me a ride to Carol’s slumber party,” Wanda pushes you back into your car and climbs in, throwing her stuff in the back seat. “Drive carefully, I couldn't leave the house with makeup on.” Wanda pulls her makeup bag out of her middle pocket.
“You wear makeup?” You ask as you pull out of the driveway.
“Shut up, it’s a special occasion,” she says while she applies the makeup. As you drive to the restaurant, you warn her when there's a bump or when you're about to make a turn.
As you get closer to the destination you ask, “Do you need me to pull over anywhere so that you can change? I mean you look hot as you are but I don't think the restaurant will let you in.”
Wanda sits back in her seat with a satisfied smile at the work she did. “Don’t worry, I have my dress on underneath.”
“No way, you're wearing a dress too?” You ask with wide eyes. “Wow, you really like me.”
Wanda rolls her eyes, but when you park the car and look at her she softens and smiles. “Yeah, I do,” she leans over the console and kisses your cheek. Leaving a stamp from her big red lips. She giggles as she grabs one of her makeup wipes to clean it off. “But don't get used to all of this getting dressed up business. Especially not when all I want is for you to take it all off anyway.”
You are a little intimidated by how direct Wanda is. The shy girl you once knew is no longer in the body of this confident woman. You're impressed by her change but a little embarrassed that you didn't notice it sooner. You knew Wanda to be the one who takes it slow. She and Vision dated for years and yet you're the one who took her virginity. Not him.
She was someone who loves romcoms and expects the roses and chocolates and the grand gestures and the romantic dates. At least, you thought she was. With how she was acting tonight, you wonder how she stayed a virgin so long.
“Let’s get inside before I can't control myself,” you say. “Wouldn’t want to put your hard work to waste.” You get out of the car before she can say something to convince you otherwise. You go to open her door and while you walk, she is taking off the lounge wear so that when she steps out she can surprise you.
Wanda steps out slowly, teasing you with the sight of her bare leg first. You're speechless when she reveals her entire look for the evening. Her hair falls nicely with her dark loose waves with red lips and light makeup that leaves her still looking natural. The dress is red and stops just below her knees with a small slit at her thigh, it's not a tight dress but it still clings to the right places giving her body a great shape. And to complete the look she is wearing black heels. “Close your mouth, you'll catch flies,” she pats you on the cheek and you shut your mouth, unaware of when it dropped open in the first place.
“You always look good, but wow,” you compliment as you follow her through the parking lot. Wanda is strutting her way to the building and you're looking like a drooling puppy dog behind her.
As the two of you are looking through the menu to order, things heat up as the two of you sit close together in the dimly lit booth. “I think I might order something light. I'm not sure I want to stuff myself with food tonight,” she says conversationally as she drops the menu on the table. Wanda places her hand on your thigh, “It's always best to save room for dessert.”
You swallow as your entire body reacts to her touch. “Yeah, I'm not in the mood for a lot of food either.” You lean in close and whisper, “I’ve got a craving for something off the menu.” You slip your fingers under her dress to caress her bare thigh. Wanda has been very clear about what she is okay with this evening and it relieves you from feeling like you have to try so hard.
By the time the waiter leaves with your orders, your cock is swelling up with arousal from Wanda rubbing you through your pants and your fingers are teasing her through her underwear. “I've been practicing what you showed me last time and,” she gasps as you move her panties to the side.“Ooh, the only thing that gets me off is the thought of being with you again.”
You hum as you move to kiss her neck but don't put your lips on her. Instead you whisper, “Oh yeah? Do you have any fantasies that you want to share with me?”
Wanda smiles, “It’s been weeks,” she bites her lip as you dip your fingers in her, “I have many.” She tries to pull your zipper down but you stop her by removing your fingers.
“Uh-uh uh. Not here,” you tell her. “Through the pants is just fine. And a lot less illegal,” you joke. You kiss her cute pouting lips and she breaks into a smile. It's so natural between the two of you.
An attractive waitress stops by to deliver the drinks the two of you ordered. You grin as you thank her and Wanda clenches her jaws to hide her jealousy until you slip your fingers back inside of her pussy. Your way of letting her know that she holds your full attention. You continue to pump your fingers in her at a steady pace. Her slippery walls constrict around your fingers every so often. The two of you try to present as normal and have a casual conversation when your meals arrive.
“Can I ask you something?” You press on her clitoris causing her to gasp out a yes for an answer. “Why are you lying to your parents about where you are tonight? They know me, they know we're friends.”
Wanda wiggles on your fingers as you continue to fuck her. “I don't want the pressure on us. Whatever we're doing. They'll ruin it. My dad approves of you and my mom has been… oooh… she's been telling me to ask you out before I even realized how I f-feel about you… oh that's good.” She stumbles on her words as you continue to pleasure her with your fingers.
“Ah, so I'm guessing you haven't told the girls about what happened last time either?”
Wanda shakes her head, “No, no, I want it to be just us until… oh my god… until we're ready. They think you… ugh… turned me down and said we're better off friends.”
You nod as you understand her reasoning. Romance is not dead, if you keep it just yours. “Okay, I can agree to that. Especially since I don't want your brother to kill me and-”
Wanda squeezes your bicep, “Baby, please can we not talk about my family when you're… ohh.. doing that to me.”
“Right, and giving me a handjob in front of my family is acceptable,” you retort as you rub her clitoris again.
“Oh please, you thought it was hot,” she shoots back as she squeezes your cock, you almost let out a groan.
“Fair enough,” you take a few big bites of your food and nudge Wanda to start eating. She asks you what's up and you pull your fingers out of her. “I’m trying to at least buy you a meal before we go back to my house. So please, eat something or else I'll feel bad for keeping you up all night.”
Wanda perks up at the mention, “All night huh? You could barely last a few minutes the first time.”
You smirk as you lean in close and whisper, “I already came three times today thinking about you.” You lean back and speak in a normal tone. “I hadn't done that in a while before you surprised me. Plus I'd never done that without protection, the moment you decided to do that it was over for me.”
Wanda tilts her head, “At least I was your first at something.”
You hum and point to her plate with your fork. “Eat.”
“Okay, okay, I'm eating,” Wanda takes a few bites but the food isn't appetizing. No. She is craving something only you can give her. She watches you as you eat. Something that a few years ago disturbed her because you used to chew with your mouth open to annoy her. This time, you're clean with no desire to annoy her, only the desire to get out of this restaurant and fill her with something other than food.
“I’m not hungry anymore,” you say as you drop your utensil and look at her. Wanda smiles and says that she isn't either. You flag down the waiter to pay for the check and leave. Back in the car, Wanda is quick to grab your bulge and try to pull your zipper down. “Can I drive us back to my house first?” You ask in a light laugh.
“Alright,” she sighs, removing her hand from your pants. When you get to the house, the two of you waste no time running to your bedroom. Thankfully you can be as loud as you want with your parents away. You shut and lock the bedroom door and bring Wanda into a passionate kiss. Staining your lips with her red lipstick. You don't mind one bit. “Finally,” she breathes out as she starts to pull on your clothes.
“I’m sorry I took so long,” you go in for another kiss and she catches your face with her hands, holding you close. You grab her by the waist and guide her to the bed. You sit on the side of it with her still standing. “I was trying to be everything you wished for,” you say as you continue to kiss her red lips.
Wanda puts her hands on your chest to stop you and breaks the kiss. “Y/n,” her light laugh causes your heart to flutter along with the bright way she says your name. “You don't have to try, just be you. That's enough for me.” She gives you a light kiss on your nose and you smile up at her. Your heart tightens at her words. You had no idea that you needed to hear them but it means the world that she said them.
“I… gosh I don't know what to say to that,” you admit as you're at a loss for words.
“Don’t say anything, just,” Wanda climbs on your lap to straddle you. “Show me how you feel.”
“Okay,” you nod and start to kiss her again. You start with her lips then you move to her neck, down to her collar bone, finally you arrive at her chest. Instead of reaching behind her to unzip the dress, you lower the strap on her shoulder and place a few kisses there. You raise your eyebrows when you notice that she doesn't have a bra on and you pull her breast over the dress and put your mouth over her nipple. You lick circles around her nipple and suck on her breast then you bring the other one out of the dress and give that breast the same attention.
Wanda has her hands in your hair as she learns about this new sensation. Her pussy starts squeezing and making her hips move involuntarily and she knows that her body is craving so much more. She rubs herself on your bulge in hopes that will give you the hint to move this along. She has weeks of pent up sexual tension that was controlling her actions right now. Forget weeks. It was years worth. She's impressed with how well you've contained yourself all evening.
“I need you,” she whispers as she massages your scalp. You remove your mouth from her chest and look up into her eyes of desire. “Please,” she begs, “I’ve been patient all night.”
This makes you chuckle as you shake your head, “No you haven't.”
She breaks into a sweet smile, “Okay, maybe not tonight but I have been waiting weeks for you to make the next move.”
“Okay, that's fair,” you gently bring her face down to yours for a kiss that she is eager to return. She moves her hips on your crotch again, making your dick as impatient as Wanda is. “Let me lay you down,” you say against her lips as her hands travel down your body and try to pull on your zipper.
“No, I’m okay right here,” she pulls your hard cock out and strokes you underneath her.
“At,” you struggle with breathing between the kissing and the hand job, “At least let me grab a condom.”
Wanda giggles as she pulls her underwear aside and teases the tip of your penis with her dripping entrance. “I already told you not to worry about that,” she reminds you as she slowly sinks down onto you.
Your groans fill the room as you enjoy every sensation being sent through you from her tight warm walls. Nothing in the world felt better than this right now. “You are so awesome,” you compliment awkwardly.
Wanda giggles, “Shut up,” she kisses you in order to keep your mouth busy. She has a tight grip on your shoulders as she rides you. As she picks up a faster pace, she stops kissing you and tips her head to the ceiling. Her breasts bounce in your face as she does. You can hardly handle the view. You don't know how you got so lucky. To show how much you appreciate her, you start kissing her exposed body. Letting her know the things you don't know how to put into words yet. Your hands claw at her dress to pull it further down her torso.
The next position Wanda wants to try is with her on all fours and you thrusting into her from behind. The two of you take your clothes off as you move around the bed to get in the position. This one has you doing all of the work now. You don't mind it at all. You reach underneath her to rub her clitoris and it causes her to release a noise you hadn't heard from her before. It encourages you to do more.
You start thrusting into Wanda a little harder than before and she lets you know that she likes it. You hold her beautiful ass with your hands as you start to pound into her aching pussy. “Fuck!” you say as her walls tighten around your cock as she experiences an orgasm. Neither of you knew that she was so close. It was a surprise to her as much as it was to you. It causes Wanda's arms to go weak and she collapses her face into the pillow underneath her. You pull out of her to check on her. “Are you okay?” You nudge her shoulder softly.
Wanda turns on her side and smiles at you. “Yeah, I um, didn't expect that but, oh it was so good.” She lays on her back and reaches for you to come closer to her. When you do, she whispers in your ear, “I want you to fill me with your cum again.” You nod and your dick twitches with excitement as you slip back inside of her slippery walls. You continue to fuck her in the missionary position, kissing her on the lips every so often until you feel it happening. Cum shoots out of your cock, filling the girl of your dreams up.
When it's over, the two of you hold each other for a moment. Taking the time to appreciate the fact that this hasn't complicated your relationship the ways you've always feared. “I love you, Wanda,” you admit softly.
She sits up and gazes into your eyes, she wasn't ready to return those words but she did appreciate hearing them. So, instead of a verbal response, she kisses you and that is enough for you, for now.
The End.

It can’t all be bullshit Part 2
Read part 1 here
Eddie Munson x fem Reader x Steve Harrington (unfortunately no Steddie in this)
Summary: pinning after your best friend can be hard, especially when he doesn’t like you back. You were trying to get over a crush the last thing you needed was another.
AN: this is all I've written for the story, so I won't be as fast updating. Also, I'm sorry I write a lot for female-presenting readers it's just I find it easier to write it like that, especially with my dyslexia. However, if you guys want I can start reuploading the story with non-gender descriptions just might take it longer to edit it.
Warnings: Angst, use of Y/n, mention of break ups, miscommunication, sexual themes but no smut readers discretion is advised. Drug and alcohol use, and swearing.
word count 3.7kish
Monday morning came around quickly, which you were glad about. The sooner you could get away from that awful weekend, the better. Eddie hadn’t remembered anything from that night, or if he did, he didn't mention it. You were also glad that you didn’t want another argument, and you definitely didn’t want details on his love life. Not that you hadn’t thought about it, your brain was too cruel to not make you dwell on it, you also thought about Harrington was he okay? Not that you cared about him of course just one human looking out for another. If you happen to be looking around to see if he made it to school that would be out of curiosity not because you cared. Thankfully his locker was near to yours so you would eventually see how he was, to be honest with how the gossip spreads in this school you would hear about it eventually if the king and queen of Hawkins really had broken up.
I don't hear anything about it until a week later at lunch. You were a little late as you had been stuck talking to your English teacher, Miss Plant, and you felt too rude to leave despite the rumbling in your stomach. As soon as you got to the table, a conversation began. “Do you reckon his head hurt?” Eddie joked. “Whose head?” you said while sitting in your seat beside Eddie. “The king when he fell from his throne”. You were beyond confused. Were they talking about a new campaign? You couldn't remember a king in your current D&D campaign. Maybe you had been too busy dazing at your leader at the meetings to notice if there was a new character. You didn't want to feel stupid, so you nodded like you understood. It wasn't until the conversation continued and you heard the mention of Nancy Wheeler you understood. You knew Eddie and Steve didn't like each other, but some of his words seemed too harsh. You saw what Harringtons' wrath could be like, and you didn't want Eddie on the receiving end. You picked at your peas, not daring to look up, and you knew how they would all tease you about nagging again. “Maybe we shouldn't talk about this”. Eddie raised his eyebrow, stopping his rant. “Why are you scared?” he challenged. You shrugged back.
Everyone was surprised. You hadn't nagged, you hadn't come back at him, you had stayed remarkably calm. Eddie wanted to see how long it would take you to snap, but he didn't have a chance when Chris, taking the hint, changed the subject. “So when’s the date, Eddie?” Not realising this would be the thing to make you snap. Since when did he have a date? Indeed it wasn't with what's her face from the party? You thought he didn't remember anything from that party, and if he did, why hadn't he apologised to you yet? “Well, she wanted to come over on Thursday, but I don't know” he looked at you to gauge a reaction; that was your weekly bowling night. Don't shout. It's okay. It's only the night you look forward to most, and you don't have much to look forward to. It doesn't matter. Well, maybe it does, but not to him anymore. “Have fun” you say standing to leave the table, dumping the food on your tray. Any hunger you had felt had gone and was replaced with nausea.
You needed somewhere to hide because you weren’t going to the next period. You needed someone to cry or scream or both. So you disappeared to Eddie’s spot in the woods. You hold onto yourself for warmth, looking down, trying to be careful not to trip on the twigs hidden in the mud. You finally make it to the table without an accident when you see out of the corner of your eye a guy. You pray it's not Eddie or someone here for a deal. It was the last thing you needed. You weren't sure if you would keep your cool this time round, especially with the stupid tears that kept lining your eyes.
“I didn't think anyone else would be here”, he spoke. It wasn't Eddie, but it was someone you also didn't want to bump into. You hoped after that night you would never have to come face to face with Harrington again. “Sorry, I can go,”you say, hoping to make a swift exit. “No, it's fine, I don't own the woods”.
There is an awkward silence. You debated getting up to leave, but you were stuck there frozen. “Looks like I’m not the only one having a shit day.” You don’t dare look up. Yeah, you were having a bad day, but it didn’t feel right to compare it to a breakup. “Mine nothing compare to yours”. You look up quickly. You didn’t mean it to sound that way. “No, I meant I’m fine. I’m sorry about what happened”. God, did you sound as dumb as you thought? “So I guess everyone knows now”. You shake your head “just because I know doesn’t mean everyone knows”.
He weakly chuckles, but there is no humour behind it: “It kind of does. It’s made its way down to the bottom of the food chain”. Steve’s eyes widened. Shit, he didn’t mean to sound like that. “No offence”. He couldn’t help being how he was. Having to put up an act for so long makes it hard to realise when he was being a dick. “None taken”. You shrug. You were used to the name-calling by jocks, so his words felt like nothing. “So what happened to you?” You twiddle with the ring Eddie gave you on a chain. “Don’t worry about me”. Steve smiles. “It’d be nice to worry about something else for a change. So is it a guy?” You laugh at him. “Do you think all girl's problems revolve around a guy?”. He nods.” Well, that is very guy-like of you, but yeah, you’re right. This time, it’s a guy.” Steve’s face lights up with a smirk. “I knew it! So what happened.” You go to speak but look up, realising it is not a friend you are talking to. It’s a popular kid. Even worse than that, it’s the king of Hawkins high. “Just typical guy stuff.”
Steve took the hint you didn’t want to get into it, so they changed the subject. “I know you don’t owe me anything, but Can you not tell anyone I was here? If Principal Coleman finds out I cut, I’m dead” You almost wanted to laugh; the Principal would find out, but looking at his face, you knew he was deadly serious. “who would I tell?” He shook his shoulders. “I don’t know”. You smiled. “Exactly. I’m gonna have to start charging you for all the secrets I keep”. He looked utterly lost. “Huh?”
Eddie sauntered over, his metal lunch box in hand. He could only see Harrington and the back of a girl’s head. So he didn’t know who it was. “My spots are popular today. I’ve even got King Steve, and I assume his new plaything here.” You turn around to face him. Now was not the time for his antics. “Leave it, Eddie” you sneered. The boy’s eyes widened, and he shook his head. “Absolutely not” he grabbed your arm and pulled you out of the woods away from Steve.
After many tries, you finally got out of Eddie’s grasp. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing?”. The boy rolled his eyes, “saving you”. You repeated his facial expression, “I didn’t need saving”. He tutted and slung his arm around you. “You were about to be Harrington’s next prey; trust me, you needed saving.” You pushed him off. “We were just talking”. Eddie looked at you like he was telling off a child, not a friend and definitely not someone he fancied “That’s how it starts”. You hated that he treated you like you didn’t know how the world worked. “I don’t see why you care”. He shook his head. “I’m your best friend, of course I care”. There it was, the famous last words of any crush. You were officially friend-zoned, and you would never get out of that. You felt deflated, so you just nodded and followed him to his van and then trailer.
A month later you were going to another party this time it was your idea. Getting over this crush had been more challenging than you had planned, so you decided to do something the opposite of what you usually would. Tonight, you would act like all the other teenagers and drink till you forget. Or find someone to help you forget. When you told Eddie you were going, he insisted he took you despite your protests. How are you supposed to get over someone when he doesn't leave you alone? You had bought an outfit for tonight because your usual outfit of jeans and a tee didn’t feel fitting. So you bought a red tight spaghetti strap dress, you thought about wearing heels you put them on, but as soon as you wobbly stood up like Bambi on ice, you realised it wasn't the best idea, so you put on your black trusty Converse. It's nice to have familiarity and not feel like Bambi on ice when trying to catch someone up. You hear several impatient beeps outside; you would think you had made him wait for hours when he had only just arrived 30 minutes late, of course. Life is always on Eddie’s schedule. You just wanted to get to the party and out of his sight, so you grabbed your bag put on a layer of lipgloss and ran outside to Eddie’s van.
He had the window down. He looked at your outfit and shook his head. “You’re gonna freeze”. You were sick of his new habit of babying you; was this what you sounded like to him? Was this just him mocking you? The girl from the last party poked her head out. “I think you look hot. I’m Sasha (sorry if this is your name she is nice though) by the way”. You nod. “Y/n”, he brought her, of course he brought her. She was nice. Why did she have to be nice? It's easier to dislike someone when they are a bitch, not a beautiful soul like hers. You were even more jealous now you wish you could be more like her than you. You got into the back of the van as Eddie drove (over the speed limit) to the party. Sasha was super friendly along the way and kept asking you questions to get to know Eddie’s best friend more. The boy stayed quiet, in thought. He was struggling to keep his eyes on the road as he kept looking at you through the rearview mirror in disbelief.
When you finally got to the party, you found your way to the punch bowl, the pair not leaving your side. You picked up a red cup, filling it with the content of the bowl, whenever that may be. Before you could even put it to your lips. Eddie took the cup from your hands, pouring it back into the bowl, Tutting at you. “Are you okay tonight? You’re acting weird”. God, you were sick of his stupid face and stupid comments, but then it struck you this was your way out from the couple, from him. “You know I’m feeling a little weird. I’m gonna go to the toilet… it’s probably because of my period”. It was a lie, but you knew it would stop him from following you.
You went up the stairs and poked your head into a room, hoping it would be the bathroom. Unfortunately for you, it wasn’t; Steve Harrington sat on a bed, his leg tapping anxiously and anxiously. why did you two seem to have a universal magnet. “Sorry”. He looked up at you. You went to leave but were stopped by his voice calling, “Wait, you’re the girl who ditched me”.
“The girl?” You repeated him. “I have a name. It’s y/n, and I wouldn’t exactly call it ditched.” He laughed, getting up and shutting the door behind you. “What would you call it? I know it’s not your fault, though, was your boyfriend jealous?”. You glare at the thought, “he’s not my boyfriend”. He laughs. “Does he know that?” You turn to leave. “I’m not in the mood for whatever this is”. He holds your hand not too tightly, so if you want to go, you can, bringing you to the bed to sit down. You are stocked by yourself that you don't push him away, but the gentleness of this action makes your heart flutter. Maybe Steve Harrington could help you forget. “So he’s the one that made you cry”. Maybe not. You put your hands on your face, embarrassed “Is it that obvious?”. He pulls your hands away from your face, shaking his head. “He’s an idiot if he doesn’t see how beautiful you are”. You want to smile at his words, but they make you cringe. “Is this how you get all the girls?” He sighs. God, he had just been broken up with; maybe it was too soon to mention girls. “I’m sor-“ he puts a finger to your lip. “You apologise far too much”. You nod. “I just don’t want you to bite my head off again”, you mumble, fiddling with the end of your dress.
“When did I do that?” He had no clue what you were talking about, so why did you even mention it? “It doesn’t matter” you keep your eyes down. He uses his hand to lift your chin so you’re looking at him. “When did I do that?” He says as genuinely as he can. He was trying to be better, a more likeable guy, and if he wanted to do that, he needed to right his wrongs. “It wasn’t your fault; it probably just seems worse in my head because I wasn’t enjoying myselfand Eddie was being a dick and-“ he puts his hand on yours to calm you. “It was Halloween; I think you and Nancy had just had an argument. I guess you needed someone to take your rage out on, and I just happened to be there”. He runs a hand through his hair and shakes his head. Annoyed at himself, he couldn’t look at you. “It’s fine; I swear it wasn’t that bad. Otherwise, I wouldn't be sitting here. You just told me to fuck off and said bullshit a lot”. He looks over at you. “So you know what happened with Nancy?” you nodded “I got the gist”. He nudged your shoulder with his “thanks for not telling anything”. You laugh. “As you said in the wood, I’m the bottom of the food chain. I've got no one to tell.”
He wanted to beat himself up; he had fallen so far into the idea of popularity that he became what he swore he would never be a dick. “You aren’t, and I’m sorry if I ever made you feel like that.” You squeeze his hand. “Don’t go soft on me. I'm quite content being there . It means I can fade into the background”. He holds both of your hands and looks you up and down until his eyes land on yours. “Someone like you isn’t meant to fade into the background”. You don’t know what comes over you; maybe it’s how nice he’s being, that you had never been called pretty by a boy, or how handsome he looked, but you lean in and kiss him. Maybe it’s because you recognise the broken mess hidden behind his eyes. You instantly realise what you’ve done. You couldn’t blame alcohol for this. You had still never drank. You’re about to pull away when Steve brings his hands to your hips and pulls you onto his lap so you’re straddling him. “Where” kiss. “Do you” another peck “think” another “you’re going?” You giggle into his mouth and further the kiss. Your hips were rolling against his, which was out of your control, not that you or Steve minded. You were so lost in the moment that you didn’t taste the beer on his lips until he put his tongue in your mouth. You tried to ignore it, but after a few moments, that’s all-consuming your brain: the metallic taste of it.
Steve could tell you wasn’t really into it anymore, so he pulled away. He started to feel insecure. He hadn’t kissed a girl since Nancy had. Had he already lost his touch? “are you okay? Didn’t you like-“ you shake your head animatedly. The action makes your whole body shake against him, making him moan. God, he was super embarrassed now. He moved you off him before anything got more awkward, especially if you were to feel the semi he was sporting. Jesus, why were you so in your head about everything you had a way to forget, and you ruined it? “I really liked it” he refused to look at you, too self-conscious about the situation. He kept his eyes on the ceiling fan above him. “It’s fine, y/n”- you feel awkward, too, so you keep your eyes on the door in front of you. “I just get so in my head sometimes, and I don’t drink, so I tasted alcohol and- I don’t know” You got frustrated at yourself not being able to find words. You sounded like a complete idiot. No wonder Eddie didn’t want you.
Steve looked at you and started laughing, even though he thought you were stupid. “Wait, so the Alcohol is cock blocking me?” He wasn’t laughing at you. You felt a relief wash over you. He was laughing at the situation. His laugh was so contagious and charming you don’t think you’ve ever heard it. Before you know it, you can’t help but laugh too. “What did you think you were a bad kisser or something?”. He hit your shoulder playfully. “Of course not” He joked.
There were suddenly loud moans from the room next door. You both look in that direction and laugh again. You do a silly impression of the moan. Steve stops laughing and stares at you, surprised at how good you are at making that sound. She must have had a lot of practice faking it to be that good, he thought. The moaning next door suddenly got louder. You raised your eyebrow at him “wanna play a game?”. You don't know what had come over you, but something about him relaxed you. You didn't feel the anxiety you would feel around your friends, making sure they were safe. You just wanted to have fun. You hadn’t been like that in so long.
Free to just be yourself. He raised his eyebrows back. “I'm listening”. You moan again, louder this time. He didn't expect that. He wanted to laugh because it came from nowhere, but it turned him on. “Come on then”. (totally inspired by Easy A here) You whisper. He got the hint and moaned, too, not as loudly, though. You kept doing this back and forth, both getting more exaggerated and louder. It was hard not to laugh at how ridiculous you sounded. Next door suddenly got very quiet. “I think we won”, he nudged your arm. You burst out laughing. He had never noticed you before, but he was glad he had you tonight. He needed a laugh. He doesn't remember the last time he had actually had fun with worrying about the consequences.
There was a bang on the door. “Are you in there, y/n!?” you suddenly stop laughing and roll your eyes upon hearing your best friend’s voice. “Looks like your boyfriend’s jealous again”, Steve joked without thinking. But he then started to panic that maybe you weren’t friends yet. Was it his place to jok- you smack his arm. “Shut it, bullshit boy” you tease back. He would have hated hearing that from anyone else. But from you, he didn't mind. He wasn't sure why. Maybe it's because there was no malice in your voice. Perhaps it's because you had made his awful night better. His week is better. There is another bang on the door “y/n!” you glare at the door. Of course, he had to ruin your fun.
Wasn't it bad enough that he was breaking your heart? “I should go before he bursts a vein or something”. You get up to leave despite the voice in your head telling you to stay. “Thank you for tonight. I really need it”. You kiss his cheek. He smiles, feeling his cheek getting warmer and his heart beating faster. No, he wasn’t ready; he couldn't let this happen like this. “ I'm trying to be better, so I don’t want to lead you on. I don’t want a girlfriend”. You shake your head, going to leave the room, and scoff, “In your dreams, bullshit boy”. He shouts after you, hoping you can hear, “I'm not sure about this new nickname”.
Outside the door, Eddie has his hands on his hips like a parent. “Were you just in there with Harrington?” he says the name like it’s venom. “Yeah, so” just because he was your best friend, he had no right to tell you who to hang out with. You used to think his protective side was endearing, but now it was annoying. You couldn’t say anything about who he hung out with, so he can’t say anything about who you choose to spend time with. Well, that’s what you thought, but Eddie had other ideas, “are you trying to kill me?” He asks like it’s a serious thing that could happen. “Oh yeah, top of my to-do list” There you were, the person Eddie loved, the one with a comeback for everything, but now wasn’t the time for him to bask in your teasing contest that he lived for. No, when there was only a door between you and Harrington, that was too close for comfort for Eddie. He wasn't sure what the new relationship between you and the ‘king’ was, but he didn't like it one bit.

LAW IS SO CUTE WHEN HE PROPOSEEEDDD LIKE PLEASEEE I WANT HIM😭😭😭😭
I wonder, does he do the wedding stuff? Like don't sleep with each other before your wedding stuff like that? Old sayings?? Does he even believe them at all?
A/N: Hello! First, thank you for the request ❤️ Sorry for the delay in responding, weekends end up being a busy time for me.
About our beautiful lovebirds: I believe maybe it would be a great mix. Some old sayings like don't see the bride in white I think they would follow (for me, Law would be willing to do whatever his s/o dreamed of for the wedding). Despite this, I also think they would create their own traditions based on what they see as important. I hope you like it!
*I also decided to name this series of requests about marriage, I love the fact that in the fanfic you can travel with the idea of a super romantic Law. Soon I will be responding to another request received about the honeymoon/what they would do afterwards.
The proposal - the special day (part 2)
Part 1 - Part 3
You considered yourself an anxious person. Are you, or not?
Even though you were tired after helping to clean up the scattered pieces after dinner - Law had been told that it was a tradition in his country to break dishes after dinner to ensure good luck and then for the bride and groom to clean up - sleep didn't seem to reach you. You still didn't understand if the insomnia was the result of being in a different bed, in the Thousand Sunny, if it was the fact that you had eaten almost nothing even with the banquet or if it was because the big day started the next morning.
Dress, makeup, hair, flowers, Law. The last item on your little mental list ran in a loop in your mind. You were sleeping separately that night, but it was impossible for you to close your eyes.
You put on your shoes and threw the sheet over your body, trying to hide your pajamas. Ikkaku, Nami, Robin and Chopper piled into the room. The straw hats were two of the few friends you collected throughout your time at sea and you couldn't help but have them at your wedding and with that, the whole crew came along. Despite some of Law's grumbles - which you knew was just silly jealousy - you invited Kid, after all, you got along very well and of all the trouble you got into, many of them involved him. Unfortunately he couldn't make it, but he sent lots and lots of bottles of sake.
The pier where the Sunny was moored seemed calm and a few meters away was the Polar Tang. A little peek at how Law was doing wouldn't hurt, would it? It only took a few steps before a voice reached you.
"I don't think it's safe for a lady to be walking around here at night." Law's voice scared you, eliciting a small scream from you.
"What the hell are you doing here?"
"I could ask the same, my little ghost." he pointed to the sheet around you. "I mean, they say it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the wedding."
"And you believe that, sweetheart?" You sat on the edge of the dock, knocking on the wood and indicating that he should sit next to you.
"For you, I would believe." he sat up, taking your hand and letting his fingers tangle with yours. "And I have you, no amount of bad luck in the world would take that away from me."
"Can I ask you something?" he immediately nodded to your question. "I know I've always dreamed of this, weddings and parties and that kind of thing. What about you? You're not doing this just to please me, are you?"
"I think it's too late for this question." a shy smile appeared on his lips. "I never expected to meet anyone, have a relationship like the two of us have and then, it happened. From then on, seeing you make your dreams come true is like seeing my own come true."
Instead of using words, you just took his lips to you, small kisses along with "thank you" smiles and "I love you" vows were said. When he moved away from your lips, you saw him take off the coat he was wearing and place it over your shoulders.
"You're freezing but anyway, what were you doing here for yourself?"
"I couldn't sleep, I needed to see you, to know that all this was really happening." You leaned on his shoulder, feeling Law's scent invade your senses. It was discreet, but it was still your favorite scent. "And you?"
"I wanted to spy on my fiancée." He spoke directly, making you smile.
"And your groomsmen let you get away?"
"Shachi and Penguin got drunk before the third bottle and fell asleep. Bepo was even now rereading the speech."
"Poor Bepo, I hope we didn't give him too difficult a mission." you laughed, feeling Law laugh along with you. A rare moment, which usually happened when it was just the two of you. Before you could continue speaking, you heard your voice being called in the distance.
"We broke a thousand plates for nothing to keep the bad things away from the wedding and you two ran away to see each other before the ceremony!" Nami's voice echoed from Sunny. "You can come back here and Law, I think it's good to go back to your place too."
"I'm on my way." you shouted back and accepted the hand that Law extended to you to put you on your feet. Before you could try to return it, Law removed the sheet still hanging from your body and adjusted his coat, so that it covered you almost completely.
"So, see you tomorrow?" He said, rolling the fabric in his hand and handing it to you.
"Yes, oh and of course, I'll be the one in white." You smiled, feeling his lips touch your forehead. "Hey!" you groaned as you watched him walk away without a real goodbye kiss.
"I'll kiss you again when you become Mrs. Trafalgar."
When you returned to Sunny, sleep came much easier than you expected, lulled by the comfort of the fabric around your body.
The day went by much faster than you expected. You spent a few hours in the shower, others getting ready and a few more rambling alone in your thoughts, anxious about what was going to happen.
With the long white dress already adorning your body and everyone already waiting for you, you and Ikkaku began to prepare the last details. For something borrowed, you "borrowed" flowers that stood ready to become medicine in Law's laboratory: chamomile, lavender, fennel, and jasmine flowers. For something old, you wore a small golden clip in your hair, one of the few things you still brought from your home island and the small stones that adorned the piece would serve for something blue.
"I believe everything is ready." You said in a sigh, feeling your hands sweat with nervousness.
"Sure you're not missing something?" Ikkaku asked, in mock distraction. "Something new perhaps?"
"The dress doesn't count? It's the first time I'm officially wearing it." you countered, seeing her deny it through a laugh.
"Close your eyes, please." As soon as you did, you felt Ikkaku put something around your neck. The cold touch of the jewel contrasted with your skin.
When you open your eyes, you can see a thin, golden chain hanging with a pendant with the Heart Pirates' jolly roger made in gold as well.
"The boys and I decided to do this. You can marry the captain, but that doesn't mean you'll stop being our best friend." your eyes immediately flooded with the statement, just as your arms wrapped around her in a strong hug. "Okay, okay, don't cry. Nami will kill us if we ruin her work and of course, the captain must be freaking out about the delay."
"You're not making this an easy task." you dried your tears with the small piece of paper she handed you.
"Good, now is the time." she walked towards the door and opened it wide enough for only her to get through. "Remember, 3 knocks on the door."
You nodded and took a deep breath, it was now or never and the second option would never be available to the two of you. The three knocks on the door felt like an eternity.
The doors to the deck opened and you could see the small space packed with your friends. The decoration was simple, flowers scattered all over the floor and some candles. You could have paid attention to the surprised faces of your fellow sailors, the huge skeleton playing the violin or how Sanji's eyes practically turned into two hearts. You could have paid attention to everything around you, if it weren't for the eyes that you loved so much and that crossed your path.
With each step you took towards the small - and improvised - altar with a huge sunset in the background, it was as if the brightness of the orange sun couldn't compare to the way Law looked at you. You had never seen him like that, so beautiful, so happy. You could bet that some of the emotional looks were more related to surprise at the expression of your soon-to-be husband than at your own entrance.
"Sorry I'm late." you whispered, standing in front of him.
"Worth every second." He took one of your hands, giving it a chaste kiss.
It could be hours, it could be just seconds, you would spend a lifetime under the way Law looked at you that almost night. The first moments of the speech were like distant words echoed amidst a blur of image from your flooded eyes, that was when a sniffle took your attention away.
"I'm sorry." Bepo asked, wiping away a tear and getting a few laughs. "I'm very happy that they chose me for this. Law was my only friend for a long time and of course, the person who brought me to this family. And you…" Bepo turned to you, laughing. "I think that since I convinced him to let you join the pack, we've been chasing too much trouble. I mean, these are two of the most special people in the world to me who have decided to stay together. And before I conclude, I need you to say your vows."
"But the votes…" Law began, being interrupted by the polar bear. By agreement, you would keep the vows just for the two of you.
"Promise that even if you get married, you two will continue to be our friends and our companions at sea. You, my dear captain and you, my dear friend, will not forget the Heart Pirates."
"We promise." you both said in unison and your laughter came out loud when you saw Bepo's cute face practically light up at the answer.
"We would never leave you big guy." you quickly let go of Law to hug him.
"We still have a lot of sea to explore." Law placed a hand on Bepo's shoulder, who broke away from you and hugged him. "Okay, Bepo… Ok, now the focus is different."
"Ah yes, of course…" he adjusted his clothes and waited for you to adjust your dress. "About the trust you two placed in me to celebrate this moment, about the presence of all our friends and of course, the sea that brought us together. I declare you husband and wife."
The "you can kiss the bride" became a distant sound as soon as you felt Law pull you by the waist. His lips captured yours with tenderness and delicacy and yet, his hands said something different, holding you firmly against his body. His lips moved away from yours and placed another chaste kiss on your forehead. Applause and whistles filled the small deck, as well as some tears too - Bepo, Shachi and Penguin were responsible for most of them.
"Now…" you began, gaining everyone's attention. "I invite you all to go to Sunny, where Luffy has kindly proposed a banquet for us to celebrate."
"Finally, food!" you only saw Luffy throw himself from one ship to another, being followed by Sanji who was already desperate with all the embezzlement he would cause at dinner.
"We'll be waiting for you." Nami walked out arm in arm with Robin.
"I think we should all go. The bride and groom deserve some time." Robin suggested.
Little by little, the deck emptied. In the end, there were only you, Law, some petals on the ground and the end of the sunset.
"I…" Law's voice started to say, but soon stopped. You were standing, leaning on the edge of Polar Tang, enjoying the few minutes of sun that remained that day. "I think this is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen."
"Don't overdo it, my husband." you said in a provocative tone and a laugh escaped your lips when you saw Law close his eyes and appreciate something that seemed to be invisible to you.
"I don't think I heard you right." your arms circled the back of his head, placing a chaste kiss on the tip of Law's chin.
"My darling, amazing, strong, beautiful husband. I'm happy that you are now officially mine."
"That's where you're wrong, Mrs. Trafalgar. I always have been and always will be yours." He held you in his arms again and contrary to what he had done in the ceremony, he took your lips without any hesitation.
One of his hands, which were firmly attached to your waist, began to cup your face in counterpoint, as if it were the most precious treasure he had found.
"Till death do Us part?"
"Not even that will be able to separate us." He took your lips again and you tangled your fingers in the dark strands of his hair.
"I love your hat, but you look so beautiful like this."
"It doesn't compare to you." He moved away enough so he could spin you around, analyzing every inch of your body. "The most beautiful girl in the entire Grand Line. My beautiful wife."

In every universe
Paring: Matt Murdock x Fem!reader
Warnings: None, just pure fluff
Summary: after a planned picnic date doesn't go according to plan, Matt doesn't let the inconvenience get in his way of a date with you
WC: 986
AN: I got inspired to write this since it was raining and @little-miss-dilf-lover encouraged me to write it so why not. (Reblogs, comment and likes are appreciated)
Matt's schedule was starting to become hectic, with the way the firm gained recognition from the Punisher trial. Even if they didn't win the case, their statements were outstanding. It seemed like client after client would come into the office.
Yet no matter how busy Matt was, you were patient with him and understanding. Something that Matt truly appreciated, far from what you could understand how greatly he was.
Sometimes, well often with Matt needed to work overtime at the office, or doing research for certain cases.
Other times you'd help out, nights like those usually ended with getting takeout and you helping Matt out with a few things you'd know from your job, as a journalist at The Bulletin.
Matt would tell you that you didn't need to help him, but you always told him that you wanted to. Even if it was doing work either way you spent time with him.
But Matt made sure that he would spend the entire weekend with you. He desperately wanted to get his mind off of all the stressful work. Just wanting to savor the time he had with you. Matt had an idea of one of the ways to show you how much he missed you.
It was a picture-perfect day for a picnic at the park with Matt on the weekend. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the breeze carried a pleasant warmth.
Matt had surprisingly prepared a delicious spread of sandwiches, fruits, and desserts, for you. The sound of laughter filled the air.
"You know, you really didn't have to do all of this Matty"? A smile formed onto your face, as you laid out the picnic blanket onto the grass.
The picnics had been a tradition for Matt and you, moments of respite from your busy lives and a chance to enjoy each other's company in the tranquility of nature.
Unfortunately, with how busy you and Matt are, there hasn't been time to go on your picnic dates like before.
"I know, but I missed this. The dates we would have- you deserve this. With the way I've been neglecting you and-", Matt felt ashamed for how he hasn't treated you properly the last few weeks.
Before Matt could continue, you interrupted him. "Hey, hey, don't give me that bullshit Matt. You've done nothing wrong. What matters is now, not the past. I understand you're busy with Foggy and the firm. You know that I love you either way, don't you Matty"?
Your hand grabbed his hand to move over where your heart is, so he could feel your steady heartbeat. It didn't matter if he could literally hear that you were telling the truth. You wanted Matt to feel it.
The small gesture made his own heart skip a beat. "I know sweetheart and I love you too. You that, don't you sweetheart"?
Your grin only grew bigger by the second. "Of course I do baby, now if that catholic guilt is eating you up, you better sweep me off my feet with what you have packed to eat".
Matt chuckled at your response, which only made him love you even more. "Though I already did that when we met at Josie's"? Matt teased you.
"Yeah yeah, we get it Matt. You're a charmer", a giggle left your mouth as you began unpacking your carefully prepared meal and settling in for a relaxed afternoon under the clear blue sky.
All of a sudden, just when you had sat down along with Matt, dark clouds suddenly rolled in without warning. The sky transformed from a vibrant blue to a somber gray, and droplets of rain started to fall sporadically.
"Dammit- it wasn't supposed to rain today. I'm so sorry sweetheart, if I had known it was gonna rain I would have chosen something else for a date", guilt and frustration was starting to feel Matt's gut.
"Matty, don't apologize for something you didn't know and can't control". The rain had begun to become a bit more strong, than from a few minutes ago.
"Fine, let's just pack up and-", a light bulb switched on Matt's head as he stopped talking.
"What?", you got confused as all of sudden Matt got quiet. Undeterred by the unexpected change in weather, Matt decided to make the best of the situation.
Not wanting their date to go to waste, Matt looked with a mischievous spark in their eyes at you before saying, "May I have this dance, my lady?"
Without missing a beat, Matt's lips curved into a smile as he bowed down in front of you. It was silly to see Matt's gesture, "Are you crazy? We're gonna get a cold!"
"You didn't say no, so I'll take that answer as a yes", Matt took your hand and pulled you close to him, with a smirk on his face.
"If we get sick, I'm blaming you Murdock", you chuckled as you looked up at him. As the rain made most of the people leave, you took off his glasses, since there was no one to judge him without his glasses.
"Yes ma'am, now let us enjoy this dance". A squeal hit Matt's ears as he spinned you and then pulled you again to him with one of his hands on your lower back and the other holding your hand.
"Thank you Matty, this means a lot to me", your head rested on his chest as you slowed dance together in the rain.
"Thank you for letting me. I love you sweetheart, more than anything in this world", he pressed a kiss to your head.
"I love you more Matty, in every universe that exists".
Matt knew in that moment that the ring he had prepared for you was gonna be presented earlier than what he had in mind.

The Lonely Shore Devlog #7
( 04/08/2024 ) Chapter One, Part Two: 17,339 words Added: +7900 words Total Wordcount: 131,648 words
Long time no devlog!
I hope everyone's been doing well over the past month. We're already a week into April, which feels impossible. I was able to make some really solid progress this weekend, and I figured it was about time for a new devlog.
Recently, I posted about the writer's block I've been struggling with. Last month was a rough one for me; I was dealing with a personal loss on top of a really busy month at work. It seems to be finally passing. I couldn't be happier, as I want to get the rest of chapter one out as soon as possible.
Part of what's slowed down progress on this half of the chapter is the amount of branching I've subjected myself too. I'm convinced it's the strongest choice for the story, and I think it'll create some really fun replayability, but it is, unfortunately, a ton of writing lol.
To vaugly tease a little bit, the MC is going to visit the library, and then they'll get the choice to visit Ravi or Jay at work, or go to the mall (which has three different possible scenes, including visiting Beck or getting coffee with Yas), before the scene comes back together for what I've been affectionately describing as a "team meeting". I think it will be really fun, and being able to hop from scene to scene has actually helped me get back into the writing groove!
I can't put a solid date on a release, since I'm still deep in the writing process, but my goal is to have it out by the end of the month.
For your patience, here are three separate sneak previews <3

I know this is such a weird request ,but I've asked who of them would be most likely to be a sperm donor ?
I think Jure.
I completely agree with your assumption of Jure, Anonyboo! Unfortunately, I went way too far with Bojan's answer.
Jure: has absolutely donated anonymously to a fertility service on several occasions. He was just upset they wouldn't let him write his own bio in the catalogue. "Sexy successful rockstar offers premium spunk for prospective parents seeking highly intelligent, GSOH, golden complexion, built-like-a-greek-god offspring. Superb genetics - come and get 'em."
Nace: might donate for a loved one through the proper medical channels, though he definitely wants to raise his own biological kids too and might be cautious of the implications. Would not donate to an anonymous fertility service.
Jan: would consider doing this for a loved one but would prefer to avoid getting doctors involved. Would be really chill about passing on his genes (he's just giving you some gloop in a pot, whatever happens after that is none of his business) until he sees the kid.
Kris: might donate to an anonymous service out of the goodness of his heart to help people who need it. Doing it for someone he knows, however, would have too many emotional complications.
Bojan: one of his best friends has a favour to ask. No, it's not the sort of thing they can ask over the phone. If they fly in, can they meet him for coffee? No, don't be nervous. It's a good favour.
So they want a baby. Except they have no intention of finding a life partner first and want to raise it on their own. Bojan begins to figure out where they're going with this. So... will he help a buddy out? He doesn't need to be involved after the conception, it would purely be a genetic gift. But they want to do it naturally if possible. Yes, that naturally.
The friendship has skirted the edge of something else before, maybe they've even been physical together. It wouldn't have to mean anything, it's just about baby making. So, Bojan - what do you think? You don't have to decide right away.
Around the most suitable dates, Bojan's friend makes another trip to Ljubljana.
The first time is awkward. They're friends, it doesn't feel like sex. Bojan's body doesn't want to. It almost ends with nothing, they almost call it off. But decide to spend the night together anyway, just catching up. Just getting physically comfortable with each other. A cuddle, a kiss. Someone has an orgasm by hand. No one gets pregnant.
The second time is better. Bojan is having fun, this feels like a good idea. Their baby is going to be so pretty, and conceived naturally in a cosy room full of affection and respect.
The third and fourth times are better still and by the fifth, Bojan wonders why they never thought of doing this before. They're so good at it.
It doesn't stick.
So next month, his friend makes another trip. All these plane tickets are still cheaper than IVF.
By now, Bojan has almost forgotten it isn't just a date, a dirty weekend. He's almost forgotten they have a job to do. Until his friend is lying on their back, their hips lifted, trying to keep everything inside, to let Bojan's seed find it's way. He looks after them, keeping them away from cigarettes and alcohol and making sure they don't do anything too strenuous and that they take their vitamins. He asks them if they're hoping for a boy or a girl. If they've thought of names. They're going to be the most wonderful parent.
This time, it sticks.
Bojan gets a very loud, enthusiastic facetime, the test being thrust up towards the camera so it's not even in focus but Bojan knows exactly what it means. It worked! There's a little baby growing in there! Bojan is going to be a da- no. He's a sperm donor.
And his friend has no reason to visit any more. Not now that Bojan has completed his promise. It was just a favour to a buddy, that's all. He doesn't have to be involved after the conception.
His job is done.
It's over.

Hello! I hope you're well. I've had another idea for the Omegaverse Office AU.
Imagine them ten years into the future. They're so very happy, the kids in school, and Dream is still working and still CEO. Sometimes he brings his quite grown up babies with him - Hob needs to do his own things sometimes - and they do homework in the big conference room and then terrorize the entire office, but nobody says anything, because, you know, they're the boss's kids.
And they're nothing compared to Dream and Hob themselves. Over the past decade, these two have elevated shenanigans in the office to a whole new level or five. They are masters of almost being caught because it gets Dream off like nothing else.
They also use it to further business. The company is now worth more than Dream cares to look up. Hob fucks him prior to important meetings with outsiders so they get to sit in the pheromone-drenched room. Some of them just get flustered, some of them downright bothered, but it's always enough for Dream to get out on top of any deal.
For the hardest cases they book the conference room two hours prior and Hob does him on top of the table, glass walls or not. Dream's other employees learn very quickly to not take that corridor before important meetings. The stains are enough to crack even the most seasoned businesspeople.
Then one day it stops working, and Dream can't quite figure out why. Instead of them being bothered, his meetings all end up with him being treated not like the hardened CEO he is, but rather like he's delicate and could break at any moment. Two of them even congratulate him upon leaving.
It's rather embarrassing, really, that it takes them three weeks and a positive pregnancy test to figure it out.
🦒 Anon
YES I love this!!!! Accidental pregnancy except they're middle aged and already have kids has so much scope to be so cute.
LOVE the idea of Dream weaponising his omeganess against shitty business rivals. And Hob trailing around him like a puppy in love decades after they first met. Fucking in the office is honestly their best option because of having so many kiddos running around at home, needing things and walking in on intimate moments. It's unfortunate because according to Dream, Hob is at his hottest when he's tending to their children. He loves watching Hob pin the kid's art to the fridge and gaze at it like it's the mona lisa. Literally nothing in the world makes Dream hornier than Hob being a dad.
But fucking over the conference table while Dream’s slick drips down onto the carpet? That's pretty fantastic too.
So is it really a shock that Dream gets pregnant? Hmm, not really. Hob may have been a little reckless with the condoms and hey, Dream has occasionally forgotten to take his birth control. So the happy accident is certainly accidental, but... extremely welcomed and not a major surprise.
Being pregnant again is both heaven and hell for Dream. He remembers why he loved it so much the first time around. But he's like 10 years older and Hob’s latest baby inside him is still MASSIVE, and he is. Uncomfortable.
Even so, he can't help but enjoy (even as he clings onto his pregnancy pillow and kicks Hob out of the bed) the renewed closeness between himself and his alpha. His whole family, tbh. There are cuddle piles and movie nights, even a babymoon (just for the weekend, while Death watches the kids).
Dream is very much looking forward to going back to work. But. He wouldn't give up his happy accident for the world. And no doubt he'll be bringing Hob right back to the conference room as soon as he can <3

Yours (pt 2)
So I have been able to start the rewrite, and I'm already liking it better. But I'm busy this weekend so I'll give y'all more of the original. I'll post the new piece once I've finished it :D
@deluxewhump @whumpyourdamnpears
Part 1
TW: blood, nudity, vampire whump, lady whump, possesive whumper, manipulation, slight dubcon, hitting(?)
Rules were set rather quickly, which Lila was given the luxury to write down to help remember. Cassara had given her a small journal. She clung to it as if it held her very soul.
Some of them were explicit. No arguing, mind her manners, go only where instructed, etc. Others, however, Lila picked up on her own. Being present was one of them. Cassara couldn’t stand when she drifted off, especially during conversation. Honesty was another. Don’t say things just because that’s what she thinks Cassara wants to hear. Yet, confusingly, don’t say things she doesn’t want to hear. She had to want to please Cassara. Merely playing along wasn’t good enough. And then, of course, the touching. Lila was never, ever, to pull away from her. No matter how ridiculous or uncomfortable she felt, she had to allow it. Not even allow. Welcome it. She put those in her journal too.
But so far things had been…tame, in a sense. From how she acted that night, Lila was certain Cassara would bash her head in at the smallest mistake, yet in reality the worst she got was a reminder, or a look, maybe a smack on the hand. Still, it had only been a few days. There was much about the vampire she hadn’t learned yet. How she fed is what terrified Lila the most. She admitted she planned to bite her, but she hadn’t said anything about it since. It made Lila’s hair stand on end whenever a hand got too close to her throat.
Cassara’s insistence on carrying her everywhere didn’t help in the slightest. She didn’t want any unnecessary pressure on Lila’s healing ankle, which Lila appreciated, but that left her entirely vulnerable should Cassara decide she wanted something to eat.
“Lila.”
She jolted at her name.
“Yes?”
They sat on a large plush chair in the library, with room for Lila to lean against the back despite resting in Cassara’s lap. Cassara held a book, an arm curling around Lila to hold it, while Lila had been quietly journaling.
“I can hear your heart beating harder. What is it you’re writing that’s gotten you so worked up?”
“Oh, uh,” Lila pulled the journal into her chest, eyes on stiff knuckles. “It’s noth—”
“Let me see it.”
She kept a thumb between the pages, sucked in a breath when Cassara’s brushed against it to take the item from her. Knowing that she could hear her heart unfortunately just made it beat faster.
“Hm.”
“What? What is it?”
“I’ve refrained from feeding from you in respect to your injury. You need as much strength and energy as possible for it to heal; draining you would only delay your recovery. However,” Both the journal and her book snapped shut in her hands simultaneously. “I suppose a taste wouldn’t hurt.” She deposited them beside her on the end table. “And then you won’t be so afraid of it anymore.” Lila’s pencil was plucked from her hands and placed with its companion. A dryness started in Lila’s throat.
“Okay.”
In her current position, little movement was necessary. Just her back flush to Cassara’s chest, and her head closer to the vampire’s shoulder. And those ghastly hands were back. One to support her head, and the other to sweep away the hair from her neck, fingertips just barely grazing her skin in a fashion that seemed to double as a caress. This purportedly loving build-up Cassara favored made Lila shiver and burn at the same time—she hated it. Why did everything have to be some kind of event or performance? Surely the whole ordeal would be easier to bear if she would just get it over with.
The one hand fell from her neck to the curve of her waist. There, at least, she had the fabric barrier of her clothing to keep her skin from reacting any further. She’d been wearing loose dresses for ease of access to her wounds and so there was less to interact with the bandaging. They were fine, albeit a bit long, but Cassara said she was ordering some things custom made. The way she liked to hold her there, Lila wondered if anything would have the sides cut out.
Another shiver coursed through her body with the press of Cassara’s lips just at the tip of her jaw, behind her ear. She should have anticipated the cold, what with the rest of Cassara’s body being so unnaturally chilled, but against her near feverish skin, she half expected steam to rise from beneath her lips.
“You need to relax, darling,” Cassara said, planting another soft kiss farther down her neck. “If you’re this tense I’ll hit a muscle and you’ll be sore. And I won’t have you associating me with pain.”
“I’m—I’m trying,” Lila managed. “But this, uh, this isn’t really helping.”
“It’s not?” Her brows knitted together. “You should be enjoying this.” Absentmindedly, her fingers drummed against Lila’s waist. To the surprise of them both, Lila let a small whine slip out at the sensation. Her hands flew to her face, mortified.
“Well that’s new…” Cassara noted more to herself than to Lila. She let her hand experimentally slither up her side, astonished to hear Lila’s heart working even harder than it already was as soon as her thumb caught the side of her breast. Then it clicked.
“Oh!” She chuckled at her own ignorance. “You’re overstimulated, aren’t you? Is that it? Am I getting you too excited?”
Not how Lila would put it, not in the slightest, but she hummed in agreement anyway.
“You poor dear.” She clicked her tongue. “As adorable as that is, I really need you pacified for this. And I’d rather not have to sedate you every time I feed. But…” Her hand returned to Lila’s waist. “I will this once. Just enough to calm you down. But remember, this is an exception. You must be able to handle this in the future.”
“Okay.”
“Answer me correctly.”
“Yes, Cassara.”
And tension seeped out of Lila almost instantly. Not to where her body felt like lead, but rather as if she were close to falling asleep. Her mind felt similarly. She wasn’t tired, and she wasn’t absent, like she would be if drunken, but it was just as pleasant.
“That’s a good girl.” A kiss to her cheek. “Much quieter now.”
She was right. Lila’s heart was sinking back into its usual pattern. Cassara peppered a few kisses along her neck to make sure it would stay like that. She didn’t even shiver this time.
“Perfect.” Another kiss, this one slow over the target area. “Just stay like that for me, pet.”
Icicles punched into the meat of her neck, tearing through the layers of skin and flesh in a single stabbing motion, a brief yet violent sting that instantly made the surrounding skin tender. Blood pulsed out of her body in hot waves that clashed with the freezing mouth clamped around her neck. She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from embarrassing herself any further.
Though it felt like an eternity, it ended mere minutes after that first puncture. Cassara’s tongue pressed against the wounds as soon as her fangs carefully retreated. It stayed there until the bleeding finally stopped, and she thankfully dried Lila’s neck of her saliva with the end of her sleeve. She rotated her in her grip so she was cradling her, Lila’s eyes landing on the faint flush of her cheeks, which she wasn’t aware was even possible.
“Goodness,” Cassara breathed. “You’ll have to heal up quickly. I haven’t had anything that dizzying in a while.” She exhaled. “Now that wasn’t so scary, was it?”
Lila didn’t remember crying, but there were tears pooling in her eyes, drying on her cheeks.
“No,” she squeaked. Cassara wiped Lila’s eyes with her knuckle.
“You were so good, my sweet. Such a good girl. But I won’t help you next time, remember? We’ll have to work on this little problem of yours.”
Either to make a point or just to tease her, Cassara dipped her head and kissed Lila maybe a bit too hard. Lila couldn’t get herself to move her lips, but, rest assured, she had enough blood still in her to race to her cheeks. Cassara giggled at the feeling.
Lila was going to be sick.
~~~
Truly there was no God. If there was, Lila would have been born with thorns jutting from her skin. She would have talons and venom that eroded through anything it touched. Instead she was small and fragile and useless. Her nails were blunt, her bones were broken, and her body was sheathed by unnaturally brawny arms that retained their unconquerable strength even when paralyzed by sleep. She’d punch herself if she could even move.
So this was why Cassara had her go to bed before she did herself. To trap her. To humiliate her. Lila had noticed her gradually inching closer to her each night, but thought it better not to acknowledge it. She thought the goal was to achieve closeness and leech the warmth from her body like the vampire she was. Of course this is what it became. Lila was so fucking stupid. She shouldn’t have woken up. She should have waited, let the monster wake first, let her be disappointed that Lila never noticed what she’d done. Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.
Lucky for her, and likely to whatever cruel demon’s delight, her heaving chest caught Cassara’s attention. Her arms relaxed just the slightest as she stirred. Once open, her eyes fell to Lila’s head against her chest. And then she held her tighter.
“Well hello, my treasure,” she purred. “And how are we today?”
“I can’t breathe.” Lila’s voice was flat.
“Clearly you can, otherwise you wouldn’t be talking.”
Silence. She had Lila’s back to her, so she felt when her middle stopped moving beneath her arms. She unfolded them. Lila rolled a foot away.
“Darling?” Cassara pulled herself up onto her hands. “What’s the matter, sweetheart?” Lila sat up as well, moved to slide off the bed.
“I need to use the bathroom.” She pushed her hands into the edge in an attempt to stand.
“Hold on,” Cassara got out of bed to catch Lila by the elbows before she lost her balance. “You need more time before you can start walking.” Lila huffed, but let Cassara pick her up without complaint. “You know this.”
For a moment she studied her pet’s body language; head pointedly turned away, arms folded and hands in fists. Her eyes narrowed.
“You’re not menstruating, are you?” She brought her nose down to Lila’s neck. “You don’t smell any different.”
“No!” Lila squished her head into her shoulder, forcing Cassara off. Then, after a beat, “Can you actually smell that?” Cassara readjusted her in her arms and headed for the bathroom.
“Blood changes with these kinds of things. Smell, taste. Depends on the person’s body.” She thought for a second. “Maybe I should track that. Don’t want you making a mess of my sheets.” Lila elected to ignore that.
“Does it taste good? When it’s like that?”
“It’s a matter of preference. And typically a major factor regarding what sexes one feeds from. It’s partially why I tend to go for women. Though, no, blood from the start of the menstrual cycle is not my favorite.”
“Why else?” Cassara had the audacity to smirk down at her.
“Go ahead and look at yourself, love,” She teased. “That’s why.” Lila redirected her eyes again, Cassara laughing at how her lower lip puffed out, nose all scrunched up.
Lila got to do her business by herself, when they got there, one of the few things Cassara didn’t feel the need to supervise. This bathroom was small, anyway. Leaning on the wall made moving easy enough. The basin stand was there to hold onto as well. She was fine.
Except, staring down the bowl, hands clutching the stand’s edges, the overwhelming desire to shatter something came over her. How long had it been? Three weeks? A month? Her ankle had a ways to go before she could even think about walking again. Being tended to and pampered in this regard was a kindness she was certain she didn’t deserve, but the stolen autonomy that came with it was unbearable. Every action monitored, speech curbed, body held and crushed and bit without warning or consent. Treated like a child. A lapdog. A goddamned toy. Like she could drop dead and Cassara would just find a replacement without so much as a frown.
And that. She could feel it happening. It was creeping up on her, her giving a shit about what Cassara thought. She was beautiful, unfairly so. Lila wasn’t blind. But that didn’t make her good or trustworthy by default. And yet, and yet, the soft touches, the praise, the flagrant declarations of desire—it was getting to her. She was disgusted with herself for it. Was that all it took? A pretty face making her feel wanted? Making her feel loved?
It wasn’t love. She knew that. Of course she knew that. But fuck, she was starting to convince herself it was. There was nothing wrong or sick about wanting to be appreciated. Didn’t everyone, in some manner? She should have considered herself lucky for someone like Cassara to choose her. She should have been grateful that she took care of her, a pathetic coward of a person like her. She was thankless. She was degenerate.
“Lila?” A knock on the door. “Are you ill?”
She wished she was.
“I’m fine,” she answered through gritted teeth. “I’ll be right out.”
Lila wouldn’t look at Cassara when she emerged, or when she was swept off the ground again. Nor did she react when they eventually returned to the bed and stripped so Cassara could put something else on her. Instead she sat glaring into her lap. Cassara got herself dressed, picked out something for Lila, and came to put it on her. She let her, which was wonderful, but whatever was wrong evidently remained on Lila’s mind. Her flushed pouting was cute. This wasn’t.
“How about something to eat?” She offered. “Maybe you’re just cranky because you’re hungry.”
Cranky.
Sure, Lila thought. Let’s call it that. She actually was hungry, though, so she perked up some at that.
“Yes…please.” She’d almost forgotten that last part.
Cassara smiled and held Lila’s face in her hand, rubbed her thumb along her cheek, and sauntered out the room.
As she waited, she picked idly at a scab on her calf. Excluding her ankle, her wounds were almost healed completely. All that remained were, of course, some scabs (which Cassara tried her best to keep Lila from messing with) and a few little scars. Her splint was the only bandaging left. It might as well have been mocking her, the only thing keeping her from the tiniest semblance of dignity. She hated being carried like a fresh corpse. Also, her leg fell numb quite a bit. She hated that too.
“What did I tell you about that?” Cassara returned with a glass of water and a plate of assorted fruit. She handed Lila the glass and sat beside her, plate in her lap.
“Sorry,” Lila said. She knocked back the water like she wanted to get drunk off it. Cassara sighed.
“You don’t want any more scars do you darling?” Lila shook her head and put the now empty glass on the ground. “Then stop messing with it. Here.” She plucked a grape from the plate, held it out in her hand. Lila reached to take it.
“Thank y—”
“Ah, ah.” Cassara drew her hand back. “Pets don’t eat with their hands.” Put her hand back out. “Try again.”
Lila’s eyes flicked to Cassara, then the grape, then Cassara again.
“You’re joking.”
“I can assure you that I am not.”
Lila turned up her nose and crossed her arms.
“I’m not doing that.”
“Then you’re not eating.”
“Really?” Lila scoffed. “What does it matter to you?” Cassara’s lips twitched.
“A friend of mine trained her pet to eat from her hand and I thought it was cute. And, in case you’ve forgotten,” With more force than grace, she slipped her hand under Lila’s dress and shot it up to her thigh, making a point of squeezing just where it connected to her torso. “You still haven’t learned to control yourself when I touch you.” She leaned into Lila’s space. “Exposure will fix that.”
And of course Lila’s traitor body had to gasp at the contact. Make the blood flow exclusively to her face. Worst of all, despite the dragon circling in her chest, a part of her liked it. It wanted the cold fingers to run all the way up her side to her head and move against her scalp. To cradle her face and pull her into a kiss that made everything disappear, just for a moment. To just let herself enjoy it. The rest of her wanted that part dead.
“Come on sweet,” The grape was brought to her mouth. “Please eat something.”
She bit Cassara’s hand.
“Lila!” It didn’t hurt her, but she jerked back anyway. “I have no idea what has gotten into you, but I’m beginning to tire of your attitude.”
“Oh yeah?” Lila laughed bitterly. “Then you’ll fucking hate this.”
She summoned as much saliva as she could muster, and spat directly in Cassara’s face. Her stomach dropped instantly.
“Cassara I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have done that. I don’t know what came over me. I’m so sorry.”
The vampire had gone stock still. Slowly, she lifted her sleeve to her face and wiped it clean.
“Cassara?”
Standing up, the plate was put on the vanity, and she wordlessly left the room. Proceeding the buzz of the empty room came a heavy clanging paired with scraping against stone. When the door flew open, Cassara dragged a chain behind her.
“I have done nothing but cater to you.” She took Lila by the neck and locked a metal collar around it. “I care for your injuries. I keep you clean. I keep you comfortable.” Lila scrambled to get further up the bed, only to be snatched by the waist. “I let you sleep in my bed.” Thrown over Cassara’s shoulder. “Wear my clothes.” The chain dangled from Lila’s neck, trailing behind Cassara as she left the room.
“I have been kind, I have been gentle. All I have done is love you.”
She wanted to scream, or bang her fists on Cassara’s back, or kick, anything. It was as if every one of her muscles locked themselves in place.
“But maybe I’ve been spoiling you too much.”
Cold slammed into her upon opening the manor doors to the night air. She barely registered the statues on either side of the walkway, or the benches within the tall iron fence; her dizzied head had her seeing spots instead.
“You want to act like an animal? Fine. I’ll treat you like an animal.”
The gate arched, adorned with spikes matching the rest of the fence, emitting a loud, drawn out, eerie groan when pushed open.
“Because apparently,” Cassara went around the right half of the gate. “The only difference between you,” Slid Lila off her back and onto the dirt. “And the mutts out here,” Latched the end of the chain around one of the iron beams. “Is that you talk back.”
She went back around the gate and closed it behind her, making a point of locking it.
“I’ll come for you when I’m ready to deal with you again.” The smile she flashed Lila hadn’t even the faintest glimmer of mirth. “Maybe you’ll still be alive by then.”
As she turned back down the walkway, Lila’s body was suddenly under her control again. She hustled onto her knees and gripped the bars. She called after the rapidly shrinking form.
“Cassara I’m sorry! I’ll be good from now on, I promise!”
She didn’t even look back at her.
“Cassara! Cassara please! Please don’t leave me here!”
The doors opened.
“Please!”
And Cassara slipped back inside. Lila was alone.
Rustling from behind her had her whip around and scan the darkness. Cassara had been right—not a single speck of moonlight showed face. Even directly in her face, her own hands were invisible to her. No silhouette. How was it darker than inside? Even without candlelight, she could see her immediate surroundings well enough. This? This couldn’t be natural. Could it?
The bars dug into her back as a gust of wind shook the forest ceiling, skin prickling, teeth threatening to chatter. She pulled her dress over her knees and hugged them into her chest. Swarming with vampires. Were there any near enough to hear her ragged breath? Or the pulse in her ears? Could they smell her? Did misery have a scent? It couldn’t. She hoped upon hope that it didn’t.
Other things lived there too, none of which Cassara told her about. Excluding the wolves, she hadn’t even named anything that could be waiting for her. Or, rather, coming for her. What things lived in the dark?
Her eyes darted in every direction they could. Somewhere off to the side, something snapped twigs in half.
From the back of her mind, an image appeared of a thin, antlered creature, nearly all bones and an empty, soulless glare. Was this something real, or from a story she’d been told once? That would live in the dark.
And what of demons? Were those real? They could appear as anything. An owl, a snake, an insect.
Tears rolled over her quivering lips and dripped from her chin. What if they were in cahoots with each other? Vampire drains her, other monstrosity rips out her insides, demon takes hold of her emptied body. She’d be aware for all of it. Her screams would draw more in. She would be maimed. Mangled beyond recognition. And her stupid whimpering was only going to make it happen faster.
Was something taking shape in the distance? Was it coming closer? Oh god, she was about to die. She was about to die. She was about to die. She—
Light shone behind her.
“Cassara!” She cried, fumbling to turn around. “I’m so fucking sorry. Please take me inside. Please, please, please, pleas—”
“Hush.” Cassara refused eye contact all the way down to the gate, walked a few inches around Lila to unhook her from the fence. Lila reached out for her, waiting to be picked up, her entire body trembling.
“Knees,” Cassara ordered. She didn’t wait for Lila to figure out what she meant before walking back around the gate, chain in hand, but she understood as it tugged on her neck. She adjusted her dress so she could crawl without interference.
They went like that all the way back to the manor, through the foyer, down some halls, and into a room Lila had never seen before. It was small, almost entirely empty, save for several varying items hanging up together at the back wall. Cassara dropped the chain unceremoniously and made for the wall.
“Take it off,” she said, not even turning around. She observed the tools, tapping her chin, other hand on her hip.
“Cassara?”
“Now.”
Lila lifted her dress over her head the fastest she could, pulled the chain through the neck, and put it in a pile beside her. She sat back on her legs and covered her chest with her arms. Cassara had a fire poker when she turned around.
“You know I don’t want to do this,” As she approached she slapped the poker into her palm. “But if I don’t punish you, you’ll never learn.”
“But—but I thought—I thought you didn’t want—You don’t want me to associate you with—with pain?”
“Oh, I’m not the one hurting you.” Her towering form cast a shadow over Lila’s colorless face. “This is a direct result of your own actions. The only thing causing you pain is your disobedience. Get onto your hands and arch your back. If it falls you go back outside. Understand?”
Lila did so immediately.
“Yes, Cassara,” she answered. “I understand.”
“Good. Now,” Cassara slowly circled her. “What are you?”
“Bad?” The fire poker crashed into Lila’s spine and cracked against her skin, the numbing sting bringing tears back to her eyes. But she grit her teeth and kept quiet.
“Try again.”
“Uh…human?”
Another lash across the first.
“Starts with a P.”
…Oh.
“Pet? I’m a pet?”
“You are.” Cassara continued her orbit. “Who’s pet are you?”
“Yours.”
Lila shuddered with the third hit.
“My what? You’re my what?”
A puddle was growing beneath Lila’s face.
“I’m your pet.”
“Who do you belong to?” Lila sniffed, earning her another smack. “Who do you belong to?”
“You. I belong to you, Cassara. I’m your pet and I belong to you.”
“That’s right. Why are you being punished right now?”
This time she gave her two quick hits, one after the other, just for emphasis. Lila’s form faltered for a moment.
“You’re punishi—” This one came down harder than the others. She couldn’t even try to hold back the cry that wrestled out of her throat.
“Wrong. Why are you being punished and who’s hurting you?”
“I am.” Her arms were wobbling. “I’m being punished for being a bad pet and it’s hurting me. I’m hurting myself.”
“Who do you belong to?”
“I belong to you.”
“What of you belongs to me?”
“Ev—” A sob. “Everything.”
“What are you?”
“Your pet.”
“What can I do with my pet?”
“Anything you want.”
“Say it again.”
“I’m your pet and you can do anything you want with me.”
“And why is that?”
“Because I belong to you.”
Lila jumped when the fire poker clattered to the ground behind her. Her back was on fire, her muscles barely holding up, her head shaking as she openly wept. Cassara gracefully knelt before her.
“What are you?” Lila’s heart leapt at Cassara’s voice, finally as soft as she was used to. But she kept form, just in case.
“I’m your pet, Cassara.”
Cassara reached behind her neck and opened the collar, tossed it aside, slid her hand to Lila’s cheek. Lila leaned into it, sighing.
“Who do you belong to?” She lifted her head, marveling at the shimmering tears painting Lila’s beautiful face.
“I belong to you.”
Lila’s breathing was steadying, cries reduced to whimpers. Cassara wiped her face dry.
“What can I do with you?”
“You can do anything you want with me.”
The soft hands retreated, Lila whining at the loss of contact, and Cassara shifted to sit with her legs crossed. She smiled.
“Lila,” she murmured. “Would you like me to touch you?”
“Please,” Lila croaked.
“Use your words, darling. Ask me nicely.”
It hurt to swallow the lump in her throat. That last bit of pride.
“Please,” she begged. “Cassara please touch me. Please touch me, Cassara. Please.”
And with that, she opened her arms, her face the warmest it’d ever been.
“Come here, pet.”
Every ounce of stress dropped from Lila’s body at the words, her back falling, muscles heavy as she scuttled to Cassara. She had Lila straddle her lap and enveloped her in her arms. A hand pet her hair while the other rubbed her back. Lila wrapped her arms around Cassara’s neck, never wanting to let go.
“What are you?” Cassara whispered.
“I’m your pet, Cassara. I belong to you.”
From her back the hand slid to her waist.
“What can I do with my pet?”
“You can do anything you want with me.”
The other pried her arms from Cassara’s neck, pulled her so they faced each other, reached to hold her face.
“What are you, precious?” Lila put her hand over the one on her cheek.
“I’m your pet and I belong to you.”
Cassara rubbed her thumb at Lila’s waist, her other hand threading through her hair to the back of her head. She kissed her flushed cheek.
“What of you belongs to me?” Kissed her neck.
“Everything. Inside and out. I’m yours. Everything is yours.”
Her hand ran up and down her side.
“What can I do with you?” Kisses along her collarbone.
“Anything you want. Everything you want.”
Cassara kissed her nose, her forehead, the shells of her ears, the bags under her eyes, her shoulders, just above her chest.
“What is your job, morsel?”
She kissed underneath her jaw.
“To be good and do whatever my lady wishes.”
The closest thing to fire burst to life in Cassara’s chest, flowing through her monstrous veins and lighting her entire body aflame. She yanked Lila’s head to her own, nails digging into her waist, and kissed her as hard as she could. Lila melted right into it and snaked her arms back around Cassara’s neck.
That one part of her was losing its goddamn mind. Finally, finally, she let go and allowed Cassara to do just what she wanted. She loved Lila. She wanted Lila to be happy. To feel good. Lila just had to listen. Do what she was told. Why was that so hard for her? Wasn’t this so much better?
Cassara’s hand glided from her waist up her side, making Lila gasp when she squeezed a breast. She was soft. Her pet was so warm and soft. Cassara was a fucking genius.
A deep, deep loathing hardened in the pit of Lila’s stomach. She was wretched. Abhorrent. If there was a Hell, then she was sprinting right towards it. But Cassara was running her hands over her and kissing her breathless and she didn’t care. This was good. She would be good. She was going to be good if it killed her.
I'm shaking. In my search for a reborn doll to soothe the pain of probably never having a child of my own, I managed to find a feisty little girl who charmed me with her fussy expression. My mom says she kind of resembles Queen Elizabeth as a baby which made me laugh. I feel like she'll be a good fit in my rather matriarchal family - I think I never mentioned this so far, but the primary reason why my family has feminist roots is because we're a mostly female clan. My two male cousins are the first men to be born in my maternal bloodline in generations. (which is why I've been comparing my family to a pack of Hyenas since my teenage years). I am just going to let her photograph sink in and process my feelings about it this coming weekend. I'm ordering my babygirl next week. I promise I'll try to post another TWP chapter and the second teaser this weekend, but I might just be too busy with creating a list of babynames I can pick from and scouting for cute baby stuff with my mom because despite the baby being fake (unfortunately), my mom is still struck by grandma fever and wants to spoil her granddaughter.
Hi
Not OFMD specific but might be of interest
(copied without permission given to reproduce)
Found in Private Eye 16-29th Feb
Warner Gloss:
Labour's business charm offensive continued last week, as Keir Starmer proudly posted that he had met with David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros Discovery, aiming to "work in partnership with the creative industries to drive growth".
Named by the New York Times as the man who "blew up Hollywood", Zaslav in fact seems to be doing everything he can to prevent growth in the industry. Having merged hi cable TV company, Discovery with entertainment conglomerate Warner Bros in 2022, Zaslav took on $56bn in debt and enacted cost cuts of £3bn.
To achieve this he set about binning TV shows and films that had already been completed in order to claim large tax write-offs - most notoriously superhero caper Batgirl - and removing shows from streaming services to avoid paying residuals fees.
In a move that might have had more appeal for St
armer, Zaslov also hired Chris Licht as CEO of CNN in 2022 to make the news service more appealing to conservative viewers - but then fired him within a year after ratings hit rock bottom. Under Zaslav's watch, the stock price of Warner Bros Discovery Inc has fallen by nearly 60% - probably not quite the growth Starmer would hope to discover!
END
Firstly thank you for your round-ups, much appreciated!
"make the new service more appealing to conservative viewers" Why am I not surprised.....
Secondly I am disturbed that the possible future leader of the UK or his advisors didn't do more investigating before agreeing to or asking for this meeting, very disappointing.
Thirdly "removing shows from streaming services to avoid paying residuals fees" Should we be concerned by this for series 1 and 2?
best wishes
Susannah
Hey omg I'm like 3 days behind on messages/replies/asks I'm sorry! This weekend was crazy! Hi Susannah!
Oh interesting! I've never read Private Eye, I'll go check them out now! Oh darn- looks like a paywall, thank you for pasting the text! (And no problem about the recaps! Thanks so much for reading them!)
To address your second point: I wish I knew more about Keir Starmer! I'm in the US so I only know tangentially about him. You would think someone would have vetted the situation a bit more though (although you know Zaslav has been a bit of a sneaky little fucker about everything until he was outed more recently). Sorry I don't have much to say on that point!
To address your third point:
Yeahhhhhh, my hope is that it won't affect OFMD too much because it's a bit more of it's own thing (and not a WB proprety like the Coyote movie). I think they could actually make money selling S1 and S2 as opposed to loss since there's such a demand for it, so personally I don't think it's going to be much of an issue, but I have no real authority or reason to believe that except common sense (which we all know hollywood doesn't always have).
@fuckyeahisawthat had a good take though, it's kind of anything goes unfortunately.
I have faith though... because like a lot of my tumblr colleagues have said, David Jenkins would have probably told us by now if in fact, there was literally no hope. He's been pretty good about putting out hints and letting us know where to focus our efforts, and as of yet he hasn't flat out said "Thanks anyway guys, but its not going to happen.
That in itself gives me hope for s1, s2 and s3.
Anyway, thanks for the write in Susannah! I'm really sorry again it took me so long to answer, and then I doubt I gave you anything of real substance @_@. I hope you're having a lovely day, and would love to chat more!
Take care, sending love!
Abby
History Repeats
Chapter two
The war is over. Everyone is happy. Years later, Biana is accepted as a councilor. Only then, does she realize she wants what she can't have. Dex Dizznee. She could step down so they could be together, but progress is finally being made with her on the Council. If she steps down, that could reset all the progress that was done. What will she do? Stay? Leave? Have this affair in secret? Will they end like Kenric and Oralie, two star crossed lovers who fate had different plans? Find out in this story.
(Dex Pov)
Dex sighed when he sat on his bed after the ceremony. He unbuttoned his shirt and flopped back.
Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
He was so stupid.
He should've manned up and asked her out sooner. Right when he got the nerve to try, Oralie stepped down. Then, the talk of Biana being nominated started circling around.
He couldn't ask her then. He was too late.
He would've asked her sooner, but regent duties kept them both busy. They had to go on different assignments for the council.
He had even planned to ask her out over the weekend before everything happened. He had asked to meet up, but now he couldn't do that. He'd just have to make up some sort of excuse to why he wanted to meet with her.
Maybe she would cancel now that she was a councilor. She would probably be too busy now.
He laid down and fell asleep. In the morning, he felt his heart skip a beat. The hope was immediately squashed out when he remembered. Biana had responded. She was still able to make it out. That, unfortunately, complicated things.
Now what was he supposed to do?
When Saturday came, he ended up dressing nice and clasped his cape over his shoulders. They were heading out to Atlantis, where he invited her over to the ice cream shop.
His original plan included getting some flowers. That was now out the window.
He leaped to the city. He wandered around a little before taking a seat on the outdoor table.
Biana had joined him a while later. She fiddled with her nails.
"Oh, hey," Dex greeted her.
"Hey," she murmured. "You wanted to meet?"
"Yeah. I did."
Now he wished he could just escape.
"So... what did you want to meet with me here for?"
"Oh..."
Crap. That small tiny detail he forgot to figure out.
"I just wanted to see you. Wondered how you've been," Dex managed to force out.
"I've been good. You?"
"Yeah. Yeah, I've been good, I-"
His breath caught when he made eye contact with her. He could see her cheeks flush.
"Um, Dex." Biana lowered her voice. "Not that I don't want to see you, but this... looks like something it's not."
He could've kicked himself.
"Oh, yeah. Of course." He got up from his seat. "I'll see you later."
"Wait," she said, reaching for his arm. "You don't have to leave right now."
Dex pulled his arm free. "No, sorry. You're probably busy anyhow."
He took off down the street.
Apparently the players themselves absolutely hated last year’s all star game which was a shocker to me. It looked fun from my view! But a lot of reporters have said guys were talking shit and didn’t like it. I personally find joy in watching Connor McDavid’s money laundering scheme but it was not as fun as last year’s in my eyes. I do appreciate making it a mega competition where there’s one big prize at the end but I wish more guys competed. This one really just felt like a competition between Cale and Connor for a lot of it.
anon i'm so sorry you sent this EONS ago and i've just been so busy i haven't had the chance to sit down and write out all the all star game thoughts and ponderings i've been having. because i know we are probably all sick of the asg complaining and discourse but i genuinely think it is such an interesting topic! what makes a "good" all star weekend? what is the criteria for measuring "good"? ideally you create an event that is widely appealing to both fans and players but that's surprisingly difficult, and imo sometimes those things are kind of fundamentally at odds!
lots of asg thoughts (complaints) under the cut lol sorry, i do not expect people to actually read all this
i'm not SHOCKED to hear that players didn't like the asw in florida because i feel like guys have been complaining about the asw since time immemorial, but i too am surprised that they apparently complained so much that the nhl decided they had to overhaul the whole skills comp. i went to the asg in florida and certainly had my quibbles about the experience from a fan standpoint but overall had a really fun time. my main complaint is that there was too many pre-recorded stuff during the skills comp — like, i didn't pay money to sit in this arena and watch videos on the jumbotron, you know? so while i do like when there's a special skills event that kind of pays homage to the host city, and i surely am not complaining about the #content we got out of the dunk tank, that was a little frustrating!
a complaint i know players have had about the skills competition in the past is that they don't want to be embarrassed, and while obviously it can be embarrassing to fall during fastest skater or take 46 seconds doing the accuracy shooting, it has seemed like for a lot of them the events they think are most likely to be embarrassing are the events that rely on leaning into personality and being silly/funny and creative in non-hockey ways — events that really lean into the entertainment part of it all instead of the athlete part, like the breakaway challenge. the vast majority of these guys do not like to think of themselves as entertainers! in their minds they're just hockey players! and hockey culture actively dissuades guys from standing out and having loud personalities so it makes sense that many of them would be more comfortable in a contest that's pure skills!
unfortunately the most fun and memorable parts of all star weekends are almost always the parts where guys DO show a lot of personality and/or are blatantly just having fun, not when they're concentrating super hard on executing skills events. i caught a bit of the nfl pro bowl and was so struck by how it seemed like the players were having so much FUN. there was so much JOY. it made it compelling and entertaining even though it don't follow the nfl closely enough to know who many of the guys at the pro bowl were.
like, i'm not knocking pure skills events. i genuinely enjoy watching these elite athletes be extremely good at things. the classic skills events — fastest skater, hardest shot — are fun to watch! and i'm not fundamentally opposed to more pure skills events. the pvp goalie save streak event was so fun, for example. but i thought a lot of the events invented for this year were too samey. they didn't really showcase different types of skills, they were just riffing on similar skill sets. it wasn't compelling to me, and i also thought it was kind of lol that everyone but connor had to learn the events on the fly and that definitely disadvantaged them.
AND i truly hated that only a handful of guys got to do the skills competition. to me one of the most fun things about the skills comp is the chance to see guys from teams all across the league and have some surprises about who does really well in events! that can't happen when the nhl decides that two-thirds of the teams don't even get representation in the skills comp, that over half the players aren't good enough to include in the event. who knows, maybe those guys preferred hanging out and drinking and watching, and that's valid of them, but as a fan — you invited my guys to the asg but didn't think they were good enough to do a few silly skill games? felt kinda shitty, man!
so while i do like connor, it really irked me the way the whole competition felt like it was designed to showcase him. yes, he's truly great, and it's fun to watch him be great! but i can turn on literally any oilers game and watch him be great; i don't need a whole event designed to showcase it. i want the the all star weekend to celebrate the LEAGUE, to use this opportunity to highlight great players who maybe DON'T constantly get the spotlight anyway IN ADDITION to the big names. i can't remember any skills comp in the past, even ones featuring generational talents at their peaks, that felt so pointedly designed to showcase a single player and it really rubbed me the wrong way. this isn't a knock against connor; it's a knock against how the nhl framed and presented the whole thing.
obviously this is my personal opinion, i've seen plenty of people who thought it was fun. that's valid! i am not The ASG Worth Decider, i am just one fan with a lot of feelings. i can also understand how it could have been more fun in-person than televised. unfortunately i was watching on tv so that's the only experience i can opine about. but also in addition to my personal opinion i objectively feel like it's a huge missed marketing opportunity. you're not gonna spark people's interests in watching new teams/players if you keep hammering home that this one guy is the guy worth watching.
though honestly, the entire skills comp experience for me was deeply colored by how awful i thought the commentary was. the constant judginess toward players instead of joy and celebration of players was gross. the way they kept leaning hard into the million dollar prize as this huge motivating factor for these millionaires to win a series of silly games was gross. it's very possible i would have enjoyed it more if the commentary didn't suck so much, lmao.
also sorry i gotta complain real quick about the sheer number of canucks and leafs. sorry i know this is such an annoying complaint. i am even very fond of a lot of the guys from those teams who were voted in but my god there were too many of them. i would have let three leafs slide since they're the host team and toronto is ~so special~ even though many host teams have only gotten one or two players in the past, but this was a bridge too far. "they were decided by popular vote what else did you expect" i'm not an idiot, okay, that is exactly what i expected to happen with the popular vote. my complaint is not that the popular vote popular voted, it's that the nhl decided that's how they were gonna do things. the whole damn system is bad!!!
and lest it be concluded from this post that i am SOLELY a hater let me say for the record that i don't think the whole thing was bad. there were some really fun moments! i love that they brought the asg draft back and i had a lot of fun watching it. i thought the ACTUAL all star games were really entertaining and fun to watch. i thought that one musical guest in the sens outfit killed it. my beef is really just with a bunch of aspects of the skills comp lmao.
in conclusion: more joy!!! more celebration of the league as a whole!!! more chances for unexpected all star heroes!!!
#ask#nhl asg#hockey for ts#belated asg feelings dump that literally no one asked for lmao#again these are just my personal feelings!#if you liked the new skills format and had way more fun than me i'm genuinely happy for you!
