Kaladin as a character makes me go insane

there's something so awfully intriguing about the juxtaposition of a character who was trained to become a surgeon, who is so Fucking Good at medicine and saving lives, because no matter what Kal might say he IS fantastic at it, and who wants more than anything to be a soldier, who becomes a soldier, who Is a soldier, and who seems to prefer it

And yet he time and time again needs to rely on the skills he was taught lowkey against his will and theyre Genuinely what gets him a good part of his respect from Bridge Four AND others before them and that duality coupled with Kaladin's Insanely troubled view on especially his training as a surgeon is SO fucking tasty

It makes me nuts it's So Good it's Such an interesting contrast and Sanderson manages to do Such cool shit by just giving Kaladin BOTH

I miss when impending deadlines kicked me into a panic-induced "gotta get the work done" mode and I just stayed up all night finishing everything and then regretted it and later and swore to do it earlier next time and then didn't

It sucked but not nearly as much as staying up all night doing absolutely no work and thinking about the deadline getting closer and closer without being able to dredge up the motivation to do anything about it.

Art VS Artist, 2024 edition

2024 has been a good year for art, mostly thanks to Call of Duty. I've never been this inspired to draw for a fandom before, and I hope the inspiration keeps coming in 2025 ✌️

I think Santae is really cute, nostalgic, almost like a modern Neopets without the accumulated jank. It keeps things basic - you adventure to unlock pets, change their colours to your liking, and have them explore or forage for you to gain items.

The pet style is super endearing, here's a few of them

The basic colours are easy to grab, but the special colours have nice art direction - these examples Pipsqueak, Regal, Synthwave, and Netherflame. All the possible colours and species can be browsed over here

The site is still in beta so things are being tweaked and added all the time. As a beta tester you can get a daily gift as well as generous site handouts!

Because it's still in beta testing, you need a referral link to join during the referral window - I think it's open until Feb 15th.

It's a dressup game too! And some backgrounds and accessories are animated. They had a wildly successful kickstarter and a robust content roadmap. Right now there's item collections, live events with prizes, hidden forum avatars, discord giveaways, and three teased upcoming new colours (tidewalker, gilded, and petrastone), all that jazz
