okay so I've been crazy about visual novels recently and put together a list of games I definitely totally recommend.

These are also not listed in any specific ranking or order, just tried to keep those made by the same devs together!

If a game you like/have worked on is not listed, please don’t take this as a slight. I probably haven’t played it or finished yet! Also, I’m not involved in the creation of any of these games. I just like them :)

Description: Discord inspired chat room with 4 different love interests: 

Quest: Mod and unofficial dad, sweetheart who feels pretty strongly about redemption arcs.

There is a simple but fun coding mechanic that the characters walk you through! Very intuitive and interesting!

Calls are fully voice acted!

Description: You join a sneaky little chat room with a bunch of hackers who communicate under almost complete anonymity with each other until you show up??

Odxny: Programmer who was prepared to just fade away until you started…caring about him????

Description: Superheroes and villains exist in this world and you end up stuck dealing with the consequences of that.

Binary Star: The golden boy superhero! He can do everything and you’re only a little unnerved by his glowing red eyes and plastered on smile.

Ray: A regular at your cafe after only 3 days, he’s described as looking (and acting) one minor inconvenience from throwing himself off a bridge.

Hals: Your boss and closest confidant. They’re tough but caring and didn’t plan on getting so attached but now they are, so!

Visual novel with 1 route!

Game is SFW but the dev has this rated 16+ due to darker content. The main love interest is technically a yandere, though he’s very wholesome in my opinion! Please check triggers regardless and avoid this if they make you uncomfortable.

Description: You wander too far out into the forest in search of your missing cat and end up passing out! Thankfully, a helpful, totally human guy, saves you!

Mychael: The cottagecore love interest of your dreams. He might not know much about the modern world, but he does know how to knit! Shy, well-mannered, and extremely clingy.

Maybe you're thinking of someone else but it could've been me as well. I have an instagram (username kalpeakoira) but I keep failing to update it. I just really dislike how it works as a platform and what it does to people, I check in once in a while but every time it feels like I'm slowly getting radiation poisoning from it.

What are canon ages of the boys at the time of Close your Eyes and Lock Me In?

Do you have an idea of a time gap between those two stories? They seem to be the main points of reference of the timeline

Hello! Yayy, LINK's caught another one!! You're very welcomee heheh<3

Like all the other specifics for the stories, their ages / locations / accents etc. are a bit vague on purpose. I like to leave the room for everyone’s own imagination based on what they’re familiar with. It makes things a bit fuzzy for the timeline sometimes, but I just prefer having the blurred reality instead of basing it on real places and tracking a firm timeline.

But generally, I eyeball the gap between CYE and LMT to be maybe a couple of years.

The later on in the timeline we get with the newer published parts, I’ve been thinking that Kizzy, as the oldest of the four, are now getting closer to the mid-twenties mark and maybe over. 

The age order is: Isac as the oldest (by two critical weeks🤺), then Kit, Liam’s a year younger, and then Nathan. -> Nat’s age difference to the others & the gap between the stories could technically vary +/- an extra year or so, depending on whatever length of uni you’d want to imagine.

So basically, the canon is vague and they are all twenty-ish something in CYE and LMT xx
