Actually, even if it wasn’t, please be nice lol

I’ve been asking people that are actually good at drawing and stuff how they know when something is finished, and most of them have said something that seems kinda like…when ya don’t wanna look at it anymore? Lol I was gonna keep working on it today, but then I opened it up and just got sad, so I guess that means it's done?? Lol This was supposed to just be a cute lil doodle (like that lil guy in the corner lol Some of y'all have seen the other stuff I've been doing lol), but then I kept adding stuff, and then it turned into this on accident??

Things I think need work:

the face uh...shape?

shading and stuff

a bunch of other things that I can't think of right now because it's stressing me to look at it closely lol

I chose not to beard and not to hair because this was supposed to just be a cute cartoon, and then it WASN'T lol

I don't think it looks like him. Trying to figure out how I can make the next thing I try better. I'm also trying to learn more stuff about Procreate, so please feel free to message me.

Garçon, Another!

I felt a gnawing hunger for more oversharing and madness, so here we are! Sorry in advance for the long post. I think we should do Kickin' next, my favourite of the boys. Introducing,

Conk-out Cockerel!

This purple-plumed poultry is well known among friends and strangers for his odd sleeping tendencies. While yes, Conk could conceivably fall asleep just about anywhere, his body seems to prefer either somewhere quiet and secluded, such as his coop or the attic of a friend's house, or in the literal middle of the street (Has happened several dozen times), anywhere where people frequent or somewhere very awkward, no in between at all. He has mild narcolepsy, and never really sleeps well at night when he ought to, only really sleeping in 5-10 minute bursts randomly throughout the day. Poor Conk just sort of wanders around at night until he gets tired and drifts off where he stands or finds a friend with insomnia he can chat to. He can't really help them much, as his sleep inducing thing (such as catnap's gas, snoozy sow's tea [credit to @funny-critter-blog] or tusker tiredon's bat [credit to @smilingcrittersthingig]) is really his stories.

The tales he learnt from his family as a chick just cause other people to drop off for some reason, so he tries to tell his friends stories to help them rest. Unfortunately, 'Guy who falls unconscious randomly' and 'powers activated by talking' aren't the best combo, so juuuust as they're closing their eyes and nodding off, *SLAM* Conk faceplants into the floor. His friends all love him, but they worry about his health and sleeping habits. Conk just tells them he can't really stop or it, so he just has to live with it and they shouldn't worry about him.

His whole shabang isn't just that though! He really enjoys just living what he can, meaning he tries to make as many good memories with his friends as he can while still conscious, as well as telling his stories and writing new ones when he can. True, this often causes a sort of jigglypuff situation with all his friends asleep by the end but what can he really do about it? His favourite flavour of ice-cream is 'Anything berry or with two flavours in one' and due to his habits of falling asleep at the most inopportune times, he tends to speak quite fast so he can get it all out in time.

He also sports furry booties, partly because they muffle his footsteps when he checks on his friends so he doesn't disturb them (he knows how it feels to have irregular sleeping patterns) but also because I thought It would be cute on the little man.

His pendant is a brown hardback book with three 'z's on it and his scent is marigold.

Spent the afternoon going through my old fanfic notebooks, and dang. It was a humbling experience to read entries from ten years ago where I was stuck in the same ways that I tend to get stuck now, and also the number of entries that began with an excited note to myself that I had just had an EPIPHANY™️ and would never, ever be stuck again - the end!! Ha.

Well, now I at least know that I'm lying when I tell myself those kinds of things. 🙃 I will remember this lesson for... entire minutes, I'm sure. (Maybe even beyond the time it takes to post this!)

Anyway, it did feel really good to rip out all (well, most) of the pages and toss them in the recycling bin. I don't need 'em, and goodness knows posterity doesn't either. Letting go of all that felt oddly cleansing. (Obviously I'm ignoring the fact that I only got through about a third of them today, and still have a long way to go.) But still, I feel somehow lighter.

I decided to keep the covers, however. I'm partial to a particular type of hardcover notebook by Blueline, called Note Pro. I wholeheartedly recommend them. They are refillable, come with a table of contents, a pouch at the back for scrap paper, and a page of sticker tabs and labels that can be used to organize your shit. (I have a lot of shit to organize as you can imagine, so this really helps keep the chaos down to a dull roar.) Because these notebooks are made of such excellent materials, I decided to cut the spines off the covers and upcycle them as covers for future ficbinding projects!

I mean look at the colors - they're gorgeous! And sturdy. So anyone who gets a hand-bound fanfic from me in the foreseeable future can look forward to knowing that these covers once housed and protected my own stories while they were in progress, and... hey. There's something kinda cool about that.

... So funny story, I mopped all the floors in my house and being the certified genius I am left my phone at the start of my mopping adventure. My pants have no pockets you see.

so now I have to wait for my tile floors to dry before retrieving my phone, so I don't slip, fall, and die attempting to get it.

One drop of water and I swear the tile turns into the smoothest ice rink ever seen.

When I got Grizelda and Zéphyrine I joked about them being Victorian/Edwardian child ghosts so uhm....Wouldn't it be funny if I actually made Grizelda a vaguely late Victorian dress and commit to it?!

Hilarious right? I obsessed over this for 3 days where I barely did anything else, But I'm pretty proud of how I drafted and sewed this. Zellie can live her life as a spirit now 😌

Here's the inspiration but it ended up pretty different due to materials, creativity and her being a doll. but that's okay 🥰
