Happy 2 Year Anniversary to The Chara Timeline ✨
I FINALLY made drawing references for you guys, yippie!✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s wild how long I’ve been working on this comic without reference sheets. I’m never that consistent with my art style, so I figured it was a waste of time 🫥💀😔 this is my first full comic okay…
Thoughts and Feelings About the Comic Below ❤️💖💕💞
Wow. It’s been 2 years??? I thought I would be done with this comic in 2 months! I don’t know whether to feel worried or accomplished!!
(With months between each update, I understand why it’s been 2 years. I’m a slow writer and artist and well- many things have come up in my life that had to come first, like my sisters wedding! 💞 and college 😅)
I want to thank my family and friends (WHO DO NOT READ THIS COMIC- THANK GOD) 💕 AND I want to THANK YOU! The readers! 💐💐
You guys are relentless! I’m as impatient as traffic and yet you guys wait for weeks or months at a time for like 4 pages?! You guys don’t even complain!!! I truly want to thank you all for that ❤️ it helps me so much. Being busy and getting burnt out are common and it helps me feel relaxed that i'm not on a timer. Literally tho- you guys keep this comic chugging I swear. Tysm 💐
Unorganized rambling about the comic ahead :) ⭐️🔥
My feelings with this comic are actually so complicated. On one hand I hate looking at my older art because GOD IT LOOKS SO OFF I want to stab it, and then on the other hand I am so so proud of myself for even continuing it this far. Ngl the weird route has been one of my favorite parts of this comic. It took me FOREVER to figure out an ending, but damn do I still get chills >:) hehe.
I’m still miffed that I named this project “Deltarune: The Chara Timeline” I could have gone for something so much COOLER. Doesn’t help I use like 7 different titles for it either. We got Deltarune the Chara timeline, Deltarune chara timeline, THE Chara timeline, chara timeline, Ct??? Man,,, I’m crazy. I take after my family so hard. We have 3 names for each of our dogs 💀.
Comic/Animation Tip i have learned. It is VERY GOOD to make the character relatively simple in design. Shape language is also super important, ((but I never really got around to doing that before I was half way through the comic, woops.)) These things can make ur process go by so much faster. This whole comic has been a HUGE learning curve. LIKE OH MY GOD. I had to learn how to draw backgrounds, write dialogue, plan a story, learn how to draw fast and draw noses (which god damn I really still can’t). And I had to learn how the heck to squeeze art into a tiny page and make it not look grainy. It's intense!
Anyways.... this has been such an awesome opportunity! Thanks Toby Fox!
I totally ran out of “art time” for my iPad and wanted to finish this today. So it’s a bit rushed. I’ll add weapons and possibly the other characters later :)
Tumblr media
Oh shi- I forgot to add this grainy image of the next few pages lmao

Muse | Jung Wooyoung
Tumblr media
Pairing: Artist!Boyfriend!WooyoungxReader
Genre: Fluff
Word Count: 1.2k
Warning: mention of naked body
Sypnosis: Your boyfriend has been busy with his gallery, leaving you missing him. One thing you didn't know though, he had a surprise waiting for you.
Note: This is the first ever fanfic I've written. English is not my first language so please bear with me. If you have any feedback, please let me know! I swear I tried ಥ‿ಥ
¡Disclaimer: The following content is a work of fiction and does NOT represent the written member in any way!
Tumblr media
You've been dating Wooyoung for a few years now. Everything is well, better than you could ask for, but you wish you could move on to the next stage. You've always dreamt of getting married in a church since you were a little girl. Striving hard so you can save up for a grand wedding, wanting you and your future husband's day to be extra special. And now, you finally found the man you want to marry.
You met Wooyoung through your college friend, San. You went to get coffee at your usual hangout place—a café near the university—when you saw San with someone. You proceeded to where they were sitting and San invited you to sit with them.
That was the day you met Wooyoung, and that was also the day you started liking him. He was very chatty and he always made you laugh that you started to have a little crush on him. The three of you began to hang out more often, and then one day, he asked you out. You said yes, of course (who wouldn't), and you've been dating since then.
He had always been fond of art. Painting, photography, and even sculpting. He wanted to have his own gallery one day, to show off his works, and it is about to come true.
Wooyoung found a decent place where he could set up the gallery and renovate it to his liking. He was the one who worked on everything, claiming he wanted everything to be perfect. That meant, you don't see each other often because he got busy with his gallery. He never told anyone the location, not even you, which you found a little odd, but never questioned him.
You just finished eating when he showed you something on his phone. It's a map with a picture of what looks like the outside of a gallery.
"It's done. The grand opening will be tomorrow." He started, gauging for your reaction.
"Already?! Does anyone else know about this? What if I'm the only one who shows up?" You flooded him with questions, more nervous than he is.
"Don't worry, I already sent out invitations to friends and family." He said with a chuckle while piching your cheeks, clearly amused.
You sighed, relieved that you wouldn't be the only one to witness this. You want the world to see how talented your boyfriend is, and he worked hard for everything to get to this point. Even though he said this was just a small achievement, you were still so proud of him. He can finally show off his love for art.
-~-
"You're here." Wooyoung said as he leaned in to kiss you on the cheek. You came a bit earlier than the time of the opening so you could be by his side.
"Finally, you got your own gallery. I'm so proud of you, Woo." You gave him a peck on the lips, earning you a small genuine smile from him.
You straightened the collar of his button-up and fixed his hair a bit to make him look more presentable. He smiled at you but you noticed that he looked a bit nervous. You held his hand and squeezed it, comforting him. He intertwined your fingers and guided you to the entrance.
After a while, people started to arrive one by one, family and friends, and even some random people who had taken an interest in what was happening in this new place.
Everyone was in awe at the simple yet elegant interior. The walls were off-white and the art pieces were placed perfectly. Everything is in the right place, the way they were arranged was pleasing to the eyes.
You looked around and noticed that the art pieces consisted of pictures and paintings of places very familiar to you—they were places you've been together before. There are also pictures and paintings of events that have transpired in your life. The memories came flooding in as you looked at each art piece. You looked around once more, you noticed a black screen in the middle of the gallery. It's off, what is it for? You asked yourself but brushed it off. One thing stood out though, it was a pink door leading to a room. It had its own spotlight, it also had a name on top, just like every piece here.
"Y/N." You read out loud. Why did it have your name on it? Also, why is it pink, your favorite color? And why does it have the word 'Private' beside the door?
Wooyoung was greeting everyone and thanking them for congratulating him when he noticed you looking at the pink door. He walked over to you and put his hand on your lower back.
"Wanna see what's inside?"
"Yes." You responded, curious as to what could be inside.
He took out what seemed like a remote from his pocket and pressed something on it while guiding you inside.
There were at least five of what you assumed were art pieces covered in red velvet blankets.
He removed the cover of the one on the left, revealing a painting of you grinning from ear to ear, holding a pack of your favorite gummy bear, with the name beside it, 'The most beautiful v(you).' This must've been the time he brought you your favorite snacks, that made you all excited.
Then, he removed the cover on all of them except the one in the middle. There was a picture of you sleeping, a painting of you gazing at the stars, and a sculpture of you, as in you, in your wholeness, naked body.
"Oh my god, Woo." You said, your voice small, overwhelmed with joy, and love, and—everything.
"Do you like it?" He asked, nervousness obvious in his tone.
"I love it!" You exclaimed as you hugged him.
"There's one more." He ushered you to get closer to it. When he finally removed the cover, you covered your mouth in shock.
It was a sculpture of him, on one bended knee, holding a small black velvet box. Woo took the box and copied the stance of the sculpture.
"Y/N, will you make me the luckiest man and marry me?"
It's finally happening. The man you love is proposing to you.
"You've given me all I could ever ask for. Yes, baby, I will marry you." You utter with tears in your eyes.
He carefully puts the ring on your ring finger, and yes, he bought your dream ring, he still remembers it even when you mentioned it only once, he remembered, like he always did.
He hugged you so tight you thought you would burst, and whispered, "I love you so much, my love. Thank you for everything."
"I love you more, Woo."
You went out of the room and everyone's congratulating you both.
Huh?
When your eyes caught the now turned-on screen in the middle. So that was what the remote was for.
"Woo!" You hit his arms slightly. Terrified of the thought that they must have seen the pieces inside.
"It only showed us, don't worry, I won't ever show those pieces to anyone, especially that one." He chuckled while jokingly shielding himself from your playful hit.
"Finally, Woo, you prepared so long for this. Congratulations." San said with a big smile, holding a glass of wine.
"You knew?" You asked San with one eyebrow raised.
"Yup, everyone knew, except you." He uttered with slight amusement in his tone.
Wooyoung sure knew how to throw surprises because you didn't expect this one bit. But you're happy he did, cause this became one of the best days in your life. The thought of marrying this man made you giddy.
Your mom hugged you and gave you a kiss on the cheek.
"I'm quite curious to know what's inside that." Your mom said, pointing at the pink door.
You and your fiancé looked at each other with knowing eyes and a huge grin.

5. EYES.
Black and white were considered Baxter's staple colors. From his clothes, to his phone case, to his car, you could list countless more items off the top of your head that all shared those monotone hues.
Really, it'd be easier to list the items he owned that weren't greyscale.
In particular, one comes to mind—two, to be more precise. Would saying he owned them be correct? You assume so. They were a part of his person, after all.
A dark brown—they shine as bright as embers from a fire burning too hot. If you stared at them long enough you would burn, but that was a risk you were willing to take. Anything, if it meant being able to get lost within them for even a moment longer.
"Good morning," you whisper, sweeping your hand across his bangs. The strands of hair fall back into place defiantly over his eyes, much to your dismay.
They're not in their signature side-swept look; they never are in the mornings. Locks of ashy grey stick out from all corners. It splays over the pillow in some sort of abstract art, a few of the longer pieces jutting outwards to tickle your cheek.
Baxter groans, rubbing at his eyes, though only one manages to beat the morning bleariness in order to look at you. Even through the dim glow of sunlight that sneaks through the cracks of the curtains, it shines.
"Good morning," he mumbles, barely audible and coherent.
You chuckle at the sound of his voice. He might be awake now, but he wasn't quite awake just yet. The clock had yet to even strike nine.
Once more, you reach up to his hair. Instead of sweeping away his bangs, this time you push it up past his forehead.
He hums at the feeling of your hand on his skin and smiles, opting to close the one eye he'd manage to pry open before.
Such a baby, you idly think before leaning forward to press your lips onto his eyelid. His hand on your waist tightens at the contact, and you move to give the other the same treatment.
This time, both pools of endless brown open to gaze directly at you. His smile grows wider by the second, and you think that maybe, just maybe, you've found a new, sure-fire method to waking him up.
4. EARS.
There's a quirk you've noticed about Baxter that you hadn't realized before.
No, that's not exactly right. You've noticed it. The problem is it just hadn't happen enough for your suspicions to be confirmed.
You recall seeing it once. The most notable occasion being the day of Jude and Scott's wedding; when the two of you had finally reunited, made your amends, and cleared the air of five years worth of regrets.
He was so happy then his cheeks flushed a vibrant shade of coral pink all the way to the tips of his ears. And as he couldn't believe what he was hearing, his ears had twitched. It reminded you much of a kitten.
For a long while, you wondered if you'd ever see that again, and by some form of pure luck, today you did.
It was still early in the morning, or at least what Baxter would consider early. Even though he didn't need to go to the office today for work, he still had some business to take care of. The sounds of his fingers tapping against the keys of his laptop were the only noise to break through the silence of your shared apartment for the last half an hour.
In the meantime, you busied yourself in the kitchen to make breakfast (brunch is more accurate), having that morning free of any other duties.
"Baxter, breakfast is ready," you call, setting the last plate on the table.
The tapping continues.
You huff amusedly. It was one of those days again—where he got too caught up with his work and blocked out all other distractions. Usually you'd let him finish and bring the occasional cup of coffee or tea and snacks to get him through the load, but having a proper meal to start the day was important.
Cleaning your hands on a towel you amble your way over behind him on the couch, catching a peek of some e-mail exchanges. That wasn't what you were here for, though.
Wrapping your arms loosely around his neck you lean in and manage to push yourself forward enough to peck his ear.
The action apparently catches him completely off-guard, and you feel him straighten in your hold, face going completely red—it continues to travel up past his cheeks. You barely have enough time to catch the tweak of his ears before he shoots up a hand to cover the one you kissed and spins around to face you, eyes wide.
"Ah—" You raise both of your arms up in surrender, suppressing a giggle at his flustered reaction. "I'm sorry. I called you for breakfast, but you were too concentrated on your laptop to hear me."
"Oh," he breathes. At least he didn't seem angry.
Far from it.
You offer him an apologetic smile anyways. "Shall we eat?"
"Yeah," he answers, a little too quickly. His eyes dart away from yours to close his laptop. You get the feeling he didn't need to look away to do that, but just wanted an excuse not meet your eyes right now. "Let's eat."
3. NECK.
Its a cool night this evening in SoCal, but you felt as if you were sitting right next to an open flame.
Lithe arms wrap around your bare waist, pulling you in close. Without the restrictive fabric of clothing separating you from each other, you could feel Baxter's heartbeat more distinctly than ever.
It's steady, if not a little fast.
The gentle motions of your fingers massaging his scalp help it from becoming erratic, but you can feel the spike every time you tug on his hair—feel the way his breath hitches against your exposed shoulders as you pull a little harder the next time. And again on the next, and the time after that.
Lips that you're used to tracing with your own press open-mouth kisses against the side of your neck, and you tilt your head to give him more access.
"Baxter," his name leaves your mouth as a breathless whisper. You can barely stifle the moan that threatens to escape as his fingers tighten their hold on you.
When your grip on his hair tightens, you hear his groan right beside your ear. Unlike you, he doesn't try to suppress it—you're not sure if you're thankful for that or not.
When he begins to press his thigh deeper between your legs you can't restrain your voice anymore.
"Baxter," you say inbetween gulps of air. Your hands move from his head to his shoulders, gently pushing him back to lean against the couch. "Wait."
"Is there something wrong?" His eyebrows crease in worry.
You shake your head with an unsteady laugh and use this time to catch your breath. "No, nothing's wrong. It's— it felt nice, really nice. I was just wondering if I could...?"
Your hands begin to roam again, finding their new homes against the nape of his neck and the flush of his cheeks. The end of your sentence doesn't hear the light of day, but Baxter knows exactly what you're trying to ask when your eyes dart to the mole decorating his neck.
"Oh?" He raises an eyebrow, frown morphing into a smirk. Even with his face bright red he would never miss a chance to tease you. Typical Baxter. "Please." He pulls you in by the shoulders until you can feel his breath once more against the lobe of your ear. His voice sends shivers down your spine. "Be my guest."
And so you oblige, pressing feather-light kisses first on his shoulder before trailing further up to his adam's apple and giving it the same treatment. You can feel it bob as he takes a large breath of air, followed by a pleased sigh. His fingers find purchase tangled in your hair, and you're acutely aware of how the roles have been reversed.
Finally, you make it to the area where his mole resides. Your hands follow your lips, one curling around his neck again to twirl strands of grey inbetween its fingers while the other traced the curve of his spine. He shudders beneath your touch.
In contrast to the gentle grazes you've given him thus far, your lips this time, nuzzle against his most sensitive spot with open mouth kisses, biting hard enough for a mark to form, but not to hurt.
"Mmn—!" he moans. His thigh jolts at the unexpected sensation, once more making contact between your legs. His hand pulls at your hair reactively, and you understand then, why he likes it so much.
"Payback for teasing me." You back away, thoroughly admiring your work, drinking in the sight of him beneath you.
Cheeks and ears flushed red, hair in disarray, a cheeky grin that for sure spelt your doom, and a faint rim of crimson that accentuates his already eye-catching mole.
Thinking back on it, you're sure this mole was the only reason you recognized him that summer of 2016. With his growth-spurt and new look, and not to mention you only having the chance to meet once beforehand, you're not sure if you would've been able to tell who he was otherwise. Not that you had to, he recognized you first.
Mindlessly, your thumb brushes against the bloom that darkens with every second passed. It doesn't hurt, you're sure of it, but Baxter appreciates the gesture all the same. Though, apparently not enough to let you linger.
Familiar fingers dip underneath your shorts, rubbing wide archs against your thighs. "Shall we continue?"
Ah, right.
You had a long night ahead of you.
2. LIPS.
"If you're feeling up for it we could take a stroll down the shore after dinner. The beach is usually empty by that time, and I'd love nothing more than to soak in the sights of a beautiful evening with you." He adds after a pause, "If you're alright with that, of course."
"I'd love to, Baxter," you answer instantly, batting away any of his worries.
For how confident your boyfriend made himself out to be to the public, you knew he still had a new dilemmas to sort through that takes time. Making sure you were happy and not feeling insecure about his choices being one of them.
"Really?" His expression lights right back up at your quick response, lips curving up into a genuinely pleased smile. "That's wonderful. I'll have to remember to bring a towel so we can dry our feet once we get back to the car. It wouldn't do well for us to drag sand back into the apartment."
Cove Holden would vehemently disagree with that statement if he were around to hear it, and you were almost inclined to bring it up yourself—being a person of the sea and whatnot.
But you don't.
The only thing on your mind is how you love hearing him so happy, love listening to the sound of his voice as he animatedly talks about even the most mundane things. You love the way the corners of his lips quirk up into a shy smile every time you compliment him and you love the way they stretch into a knowing-grin whenever he finds something new to tease you about—the way he makes it up to you with a kiss that always lasts longer than intended, and the way he says sorry without meaning an ounce of it.
Before long, those idle listings that you're so fond of hearing him talk about no longer register.
Without much thought, your hands are reaching out to cup his cheeks. Your thumb tenderly traces the outline of his jaw. No words were needed to tell him exactly what you were thinking. You were already staring at him as if you were holding the entire world in your hands.
"I'm going to kiss you now," you warn.
He chuckles amusedly, his own hand coming up to map the outline of your bottom lip, as if trying to commit the shape to memory. "What are you waiting for then?"
Nothing, really.
You waste no time leaning in, your lips fitting like puzzle pieces that were carved just to lock with each other.
It starts out slow, wanting, as if afraid you would scare one another off if you went for something more. Eventually, thoses brief pecks spiral out of your reach into something more, it's no longer a want but a need.
Despite you taking initiative, Baxter takes the lead, pulling you closer until you're practically stradling him. Your hands have moved from his cheeks to his neck, securing your place on his lap.
When you finally pull away, you're both gasping for air, eyes lidded and lungs breathless. Had your need for oxygen not won out you would have been content to kiss him all day.
Something about the look in his eyes tells you he thought the same.
1. HANDS.
One, two, three.
One, two, three.
Spin, pull, and—dip.
The music player clicks, and the sounds of string instruments abruptly stops. The silence that follows signals the end of another song.
"You did amazing." Baxter doesn't hesitate to compliment you as soon as the dance ends. He pulls you up into a standing position, but makes no effort to let go of your clasped hands.
Even if there was no reason to hold you anymore, that didn't mean anything. You were his partner—in more ways than one—so unless you wished for him to let you go, he wasn't planning on doing so any time soon.
"It's because I have such an amazing teacher leading me," you quip back.
He narrows his eyes, smiling widely. "I don't think I can call myself your teacher anymore. At this point you've far outgrown my lessons, don't you think?"
"Not at all. There's always more to learn from a former professional. Maybe you're just holding back on me."
If it was a compliment battle you wanted, it was a compliment battle you were going to get. For the next however long, the two of you spend your downtime exchanging complimentary remarks inbetween gulps of water.
The whole time, Baxter doesn't once let go of your hand, even if it meant awkwardly untwisting the cap of his bottle between his legs. He got it eventually.
"I'm so glad my misfortune brings you joy," he jokes, setting the container down by his side.
"I offered to help," you remind him. "You're the one who denied it."
"It was a battle of pride." He pouts at you, and for a second you almost thought he was serious.
Rolling your eyes, you laugh at his childish attitude. No matter how profession he tries to make himself out to be, you knew better. Underneath all those stiff suits and fancy words he was—as Xavier once described—squishy.
You hold on tighter to his hand; they were squishy too. Or maybe soft would be a more apt description.
"Is something on your mind?" he asks, no doubt curious about the sudden pressure.
You hum, lifting your arm up until the limb was right in front of your—and his—face. Your fingers wriggle out of Baxter's grasp before entertwining with his own. He lets you do it, gladly. Your palms are both clammy from holding each other for so long, but neither of you seem to mind.
And then, as if you had done this a million times before, you bring his hand to your lips in gentle kiss, and there it remains.
The same hand that had been offered to you all those years ago at the Summer Soiree was the same hand that you're holding now.
The one that holds you close in the early mornings and refuses to let go. The one that tucks your hair behind your ear and rubs delicate circles along every part of your body. The one that cradles your cheek with so much warmth you fear that one day you're going to heat up and burn into ash all at the same time.
"I was thinking about how much I love you. All of you." Your lips brush against his skin with every word, as if hoping to physically convey the full brunt of your emotions through that one simple gesture.
"Oh."
In the time you've spent dating Baxter, there were very few instances in which you were able to catch him off-guard. This just so happen to be one of those moments.
He's at a loss for words.
Unfortunately, you don't get the opportunity to bask in it for long, and soon enough, with the same care as you gave him, Baxter kisses the back of your hand. His lips glide down to your pinkie before giving it the same treatment, and then doing the same for your other four fingers, giving them each the individual attention they deserve.
Finally, he switches his grasp to your wrist and presses one final kiss to the inside of your palm.
It tickles.
"It's funny, we were thinking of the same thing." He catches your eye, features glimmering with affection. "About how I love you. All of you."

State of the WIP Address Poll
Hi. I usually do these on Friday but I'm in my yearnings and I need your help.
It's super busytimes for me, but I do have snatches of downtime in my day and I'd really love to be writing. The problem is that I have a number of wips and want to work on them all and so I get choice paralysis and I feel like I'mma die inside if I don't finish a story sometime soon. Help.
Here are some wips I have the capacity to work on right now.....
Omegaverse Javi G
Currently sitting at ~6K and about 2/3 done
Rating: Mature for a/b/o dynamics and couplings, but mostly angst and sweetness
You and Javi were part of the two ruling Alpha packs on Mallorca. You were an Omega assumed to wed into the Gutierrez family to seal the bond between the two families. The problem: Javi's uncle--not his father--was the ruling Gutierrez, which means Lucas is set to be head Alpha and Javi was the only boy in the Gutierrez family that didn't present as Alpha. And yet you were childhood friends and then sweethearts... Then everything changed.
.
Modern!dom Pero
Currently sitting at ~6K and maybe 2/3 done? It's in pieces
Rating: Mature for a sex scene at the end
Don't be fooled though, he's not a rough or controlling dom. I'm still a softie. You run a marital arts school with Lin and hire two carpenters to build out a second studio. One of them seems pretty grumpy but you find through fits and starts that you have more in common than you think. And not just familiarity with swords....
.
Sex Pollen Oberyn
Currently sitting at ~2.5K and I'd say maybe 1/4 done
Rating: Explicit for descriptions of things I can't stop thinking about
I mean, right now it's a hell of a lot of reader x Ellaria, but that's just the build up to funtimes. You are the representation of your Dornish provence come to Sunspear to negotiate land with other leaders....but that's just a convenient front for a secret mission. Your sister's marriage needs a little oomph and you've heard tell of a potion that might help, but only the maesters would know of it. Not like they'd ever give it over to a womanthough. But the Red Viper might know how to make it and if only you can get an audience with the Prince, you might be able to beg the favor.... And then, you know, misunderstandings and threesomes ensue.
.
Leave Off Your Wandering part 5: Spring Again
Currently sitting at ~750 and I don't know how long it will be
Rating: Mostly fluff with some domestic bedroom relations
Too much trauma happened in Winter for me to just end it there...I want to give them some time to heal and rebuild. So Spring Again is the epilogue and it won't have much for story, just checking in on everyone. Showing how they've settled. Letting them go off into their uneventful happy ending.
.
I've got a few more but I'm either not in a place to concentrate on the bigger stories or I don't have a next step for them just yet. (Din and Pats and Light/Shadow Max and Branded Pero are calling, and maybe I'd love to revisit Thief and Locksmith....I just need more uninterrupted time for them.) These are the one that bubble my thoughts from time to time lately.
Which one are you most wanting to read?

Thank you in advance. <3

trip updates part one: Tokyo
It was a mercifully smooth 12-hour flight from Minneapolis to Tokyo! The seat next to me was unoccupied, so I could stretch my legs out, sleep a bit, read, and watch my shows. I finished Black Friend by Ziwe, which I loved, and Alive: The Story of the Andes Survivors by Piers Paul Read. I also watched the first five episodes of Succession, season one! I'm so into this show.
It was so easy to navigate Tokyo via the subway. I took the train from the airport to my hotel, dropped my stuff off, and had time to visit Senso-ji Temple that evening. Visiting a religious site is something I like to do as soon after landing as possible. Senso-ji in the evening, lit up, was beautiful. I wandered through the temple grounds to look at the pagodas and the stone Buddha statues, while listening to the clinking of people dropping their coin offerings into the metal collection area. I found a little ramen spot nearby, and the ramen was incredible and very comforting after 12+ hours of travel, going through customs, navigating around a new city, etc.
The next day, I found a cute little cafe right next to my hotel where I could start my day with my caffeine fix. I headed to Tsukiji Market, and I LOVE a market. Normally I hate crowds, but when there's food involved, that hatred goes away. :) I explored the food stalls and ate all the seafood my little heart desired - crab legs, eel, scallops, a sashimi bowl.
I went to Meiji-Jingu shrine, in the middle of Yoyogi Park, which is very forested. One of the coolest things about this location was seeing a wedding ceremony that was taking place, with the couple and family dressed in traditional Japanese clothing. It was a lovely area to explore, and after I inevitably got lost in the park and found my way again, I had sakura flavored soft serve ice cream as a treat.
The Hamarikyu Gardens were an unexpected stop for me, while I waited for my evening kabuki show to start, and I'm so glad I went. The flower field there was yellow as far as my eyes could see, and there were tons of hummingbirds around.
The kabuki show was a cool experience - I loved the music, and the body language of the actors!
Other highlights of the rest of my time in Tokyo:
Matcha lattes and pancakes at the cafe near my hotel
Seeing cherry blossoms at Ueno Park!!
The collection of art and artifacts at Tokyo National Museum
The food - ramen, katsu curry, pho!
Soaking in the large, hot public bath at my hotel, which I had to myself that night.
One thing I didn't expect:
The weather! Coming from one of the coldest places in the United States, where it gets to be -30 F, I didn't think that Japan in spring would challenge me. And yet, it did. I brought my mid-weight spring coat, which has been working fine for me at home. For some reason, I found Tokyo very windy, and the wind cut right through me. I was very uncomfortable walking around, and finally, I had to buy another coat at Uniqlo here, as well as a scarf. I got both for ~$40 USD so it didn't break the bank, at least. :)
I got to Kyoto yesterday morning and I have more to journal about that, but I will do so in a separate post. :)
It has been amazing to be on vacation. To not have to worry about work, or grocery shopping, or cooking, or getting my workout done before work starts, or anything. I love my job and it still feels AMAZING to not work.
Oh, also, I almost forgot to add - I got an email as soon as I landed in Tokyo, confirming that I have been accepted at the university I applied for, and will be starting my MSW in fall. It's been a lovely celebratory trip!

Let's make it a series, because I'm overwhelmed with packing. Got ya the mugs, too, they're real.
Ghost and Soap moving in together, part 2.
(Part 1 if you want some more context)
Tumblr media
• Soap loves plants, but in his line of work he's not home often enough to take proper care of them, so he resorts to getting the least awful out of the artificial ones. Ghost says they're perfect for collecting dust. They get into a surprisingly heated argument about it. Ghost lets Soap win, but he's not convinced.
• When they come back from that mission (which wasn't nearly as smooth and easy as promised by intel), both are on medical leave for at least several weeks. Ghost has been shot in the shoulder, and Soap managed to twist his ankle so badly it broke. Got all of the ligaments torn, too. They come back home late in the evening, and are greeted with boxes, dismantled furniture, everything left exactly as it was, now covered in a thin layer of dust. "Fucking hell, Johnny," - manages Ghost, dropping his backpack on the floor. There's not much to add.
• Sitting on the floor with tea is a tradition now, apparently. Honestly, they're way too tired now to deal with any of this.
• They have the stupidest fight about who's gonna take care of the heavy things. Ghost gives it a go before Soap can protest and ends up reopening the wound.
"You pull your stitches again, Si, and I'm gonna finish you off myself," - Soap promises, stitching him up.
"I'd rather you worry about that leg of yours. Heavy lifting and crutches don't go together that well."
"We need to get the bed built at least, aye?"
"Fuck it," Ghost exhales, wincing when the needle goes through the skin again. They end up just moving the mattress into the bedroom (it still took a ridiculous amount of time).
"You know where the bedding stuff is? Right there." Soap points to a big box in the bottom of the stack.
"Fuck it," repeats Ghost and sprawls on the mattress. He's exhausted, his shoulder stings, that mattress is softer than whatever they slept on for weeks now, the heating's on, and Johnny's right there, tucked at his good side, almost cuddling him. He really doesn't care about anything else.
• They end up calling in reinforcements the next day. Yeah, that 'I can do it myself' attitude is something they both suffer from, but they're definitely not in shape to deal with this on their own. It takes a little bribery (a promise of takeout dinner and a couple of good bottles of scotch) to convince Gaz and Roach to come.
• When they get in, it gets way louder than it was. Ghost thought Johnny was the loudest, but these two on leave are something else entirely. Yet, they do spread the boxes out on the floor which makes it easier to take things out, and move the art stuff to the second bedroom so they have space to build the shelf. That helps a lot.
• Ghost gets to sort things and put them away, and falls into a flow state. It doesn't bother his injury, and he's quick and productive. He's aligning Soap's spices in alphabet order, alright? Soap's definitely going to mess it up the second he touches it, but it doesn't matter.
• Johnny's really trying to carry as much as he can at once, but you can only take so much when you're on crutches. So, he hops around with a crutch in one hand, leg in a boot, one arm full of things, and he carries some in his mouth. The others have a field day joking because he can't come back at them in time. He does make all sorts of funny sounds to retort, but it only riles them up even more.
• "Wait, you've only got one bed? That's sus."
Ghost just glares at Gaz, and he drops the topic. But not for long.
"So, when's the wedding?"
He gets a pillow in his face from Soap who just had landed his ass on a sofa, and another threatening glare from Ghost. "The forest is big, Gaz. Easy to get lost," - he threatens, but there's no real heat behind it.
• By the end of the day it looks much better than before, but still nowhere near done. "Can we put your lights somewhere in the living room before we call it a day?" Ghost asks Soap, and he surprises himself with how soft it comes out.
Gaz and Roach just exchange long looks. They know better than to voice it, but the shared thought is "that's not Ghost, that's Simon". They don't want to scare him off, it's not often they get to see the guy in the first place. "Soap's a good influence on him," - Roach whispers almost non-audibly. - "Haven't seen him like that in years." Gaz just nods.
"Yeah, sure, bring them, and I'll wrap them around," - Soap sounds tired. It's been a long day. Their hands brush when they tweak the garlands to fix them in place, it feels like a little electric sparkle. Ghost catches Johnny's hand for a moment, and Soap makes that little surprised sound that's gonna etch itself in Simon's memory forever now.
• With the shelf in place, TV standing proudly in the centre of it, and books arranged neatly, the living room comes to life. Ghost's table is closer to the kitchen, his only black chair sticking out like a sore thumb among Soap's wooden ones. They all have different pillows on them, a chaotic mismatch of colour. It is somehow cozy, cosier than Ghost could have imagined, and they're not even done with it yet.
• Chinese takeaway, scotch, and Mortal Kombat on Ghost's PlayStation is the best way to finish the day. The little lights are on, the flat feels much better already, almost homely despite the mess. The sofa is big enough for all of them, but it still gives Johnny an alibi to stick himself to Simon's good side. It's not cuddling, there's just not enough space, and he ended up there, OK?
• Gaz destroys Ghost in MK, but Ghost just blames it on the shoulder. "Never knew you were a sore loser, Lt," pokes Roach.
"Say that again, and you're gonna become one," - Ghost deadpans. Soap starts snoring, passed out cold on his shoulder. That's when it finally hits him. He's home.

WIP Wednesday - Surprise To the Shore Snippet!
Tumblr media
late post for the day. woke up with a killer migraine, but still went to work. went home when i realized that looking at anything for longer than 5 seconds caused vertigo. came home. so, only been up and at it since 2:30.
i finished the next chapter in To the Shore! but, it won't be published friday, as friday is my 23rd wedding anniversary, and me and the husband are off on a little jaunt. this is the first time we're doing something like this. i'm terribly excited <3. i'll publish it on sunday.
so, today you'll get a sneak peek from the next chapter.
ok, enough of the numbered list. tagging the coemancer crew, as always. you peeps are the best!
branes are funny. Seven Days was begging to be written, and i have about 2/3rds of it done. and, something about working that made some things clearer for To the Shore.
if you want to read the whole thing, it's here on ao3.
if you want to check out Seven Days, it's also here on ao3.
sneak peek incoming!
It took about a week of intermittent work to get the camera in working order. Sam and Barrett helped set up a dark room in the basement of the Lodge, clearing out the spare storage room. Once the work was done, Cora started photographing everything and anything she could find. Walter, once again, was instrumental in assisting her new hobby, as he was her source for acquiring film. He felt it was a good investment as it “recorded Constellation’s endeavors for posterity.”
She had a good eye for composition, but it was quite the learning curve to understand the mechanics of things like aperture speed, film grain, and lenses. And, there was both a craft and an art to developing the film. It was a couple weeks before decent enough photos were produced, for which Cora showed off proudly to the members.
The first batch she showed to her dad, especially one photo of which she was particularly proud of, and thought he’d like. It was of him and Hwa aboard the Razorleaf, with Hwa holding onto his arm and laughing.
“Oh, gum drop,” Sam said, a little choked up, “this is beautiful. My mom used to show me pictures like this. Can I have this?” he asked.
“Of course. I can always make a copy from the negative.”
“Thank you so much,” he whispered to Cora, and hugged her tightly. He let her go, sniffled, and wiped his nose. “I want to get this framed. Have you shown this to Hwa yet?”
“No, I thought you’d like to show it to her.”
Sam smiled widely, “That I would. This is the best gift I think I’ve ever received.” He gave Cora another hug. “Do you know where Hwa is? Is she in her room?”
“No, last I saw her, she was downstairs working on her armor.”
Sam headed down the stairs, two steps at a time, and found Hwa was tinkering with the Mantis helmet, head down and goggles on, soldering servos. He walked over and put his arm around her waist when she stood up. Hwa jumped a little, but calmed when she felt him kiss her neck. “Cora’s first batch of photos are done. I wanted to show this one to you,” he said, and handed her the photograph.
She briefly glanced at it. Her body went rigid and her breathing stopped. She stared at it a couple more seconds, then dropped the picture. She removed his arm from her waist. and without a word, left the basement, leaving Sam flabbergasted.
It took him several seconds to register what happened, it was so unexpected. He picked up the photo and stared at it, trying to see what had affected Hwa negatively. It was just a photo of them on the Razorleaf. He thought he looked kinda goofy, as he was grinning from ear to ear, probably told some terrible dad joke that Hwa loved so much. And, indeed, she was laughing hard, hanging off his arm. There was nothing else in the photo.
He walked back up to see if Hwa went to her room. Finding it empty, he checked the rest of the Lodge. No Hwa. He paused for a minute, and thought about where she would be. He headed to the Waterfall Promenade.

okay watching my way through the gmmtv 2025, trailers lets gooo!
— dare you to death: this one actually looks like it could be fun! historically i'm not the biggest JoongDunk girl but they suit this sort of action genre well (seems they're escaping the uni bls between this and THK haha and I approve.) Imma keep my eye on it!! Feels like something I'd enjoy. Also side-note but i got all excited when i saw Pahn in the trailer. But is she the one who gets poisoned right off? I hope not, but I didn't notice her pop up again in the trailer after that intro sooo. anyway she was the actual highlight of My Love Mix-Up Th for me and I'd love to see more of her!
— head 2 head: initially i was like oh this looks like it's trying to do bad buddy vibes (less well lol) or smth but then it got a supernatural twist?? it ended up looking quite sweet, but i probably won't check this one out unless I see cute stuff from it all over my dash haha. I feel bad about that bc I LOVED Keen in 'Only Boo!' and he seems like a sweetheart here too. (i'd be interested to see him in a different pair sometime but the chances feel unlikely with the way gmmtv works lol)
—burnout syndrome: no real thoughts on this but that one character's art style is quite pretty? honestly i still have to finish Not Me (I loved it so far but never got past like ep 3 😭) and don't have many opinions regarding OffGun yet. Again, I'll see how my dash influences me or not. I will say there's a distinct underlying vibe to the trailer (which does feel reminiscent of Not Me) so I'll keep an open mind
—Whale Store xoxo: CUTE GL SIGN ME UP!! i hope to love this more than 23.5, MilkLove deserve that from me. Also eyy, not a high school show--nice!! And did you SEE the cute lil shots and the MONTAGE at the end and and and?? teeheehee. Going on the watchlist.
—Only Friends: Dream On: okay so Only Friends take 2 but different actors really did end up a reality, huh? Was feeling kinda meh but then Boston showed up ahah. Not sure how much he'll feature, though. And I have QUESTIONS. Why is he still out here helping ppl with final projects, did he not end up going to the U.S., and what about Mix walking into the end of s1? OH WAIT. sorry this sorted out in my head just now. I bet this takes places at the same time as S1. Boston probably knew both groups while in school, but was less in with these guys. (So like, imagine—when Mix enters the scene in s1, does that lead into a universe where BOTH of these messy groups end up merging into one giant flaming ultra-mess?) Anyway I'm still obsessed with the original OFTS but I don't necessarily expect to check this one out. Side-note: I do miss the more grungy aesthetic ngl, but I guess we owed a lot of that to Sand.
—That Summer: Neo!! sorry he showed up in the first few seconds and it made me happy. Prince Satang washed up on the beach. That shot is giving genderswap little mermaid hahaha. I'm not like super gripped by the trailer overall BUT it'll probably check it out for the actors? Congrats to them for getting main leads!! (Also Fawn if u see this YOU WERE RIGHT. Royalty SatangWinny was on your bingo card, you called it.)
—My Romance Scammer: Probably won't watch this series but heyyy, look at them using weddings as part of the plot! Also. MarkJunior! (They were the best part of Cherry Magic Th for me.)
—Melody of Secrets: Idk could be interesting? I mean there's murder and mysteries, so. Not at the top of my list tho. But: Jan!! She's been amazing in every series. If I check this out she will likely be the reason.
—Love you teacher: boy u don't sign up to be a teacher to follow your boyfriend and then learn to enjoy children along the way. YOU NEED TO CHOOSE THIS JOB BC U LIKE AND CARE ABOUT KIDS OR THAT ISN'T FAIR TO THEM OMG. yeah I work with children, this is personal haha. Okay sorry, paused the trailer to rant i'll be right back.
... okay that was a plot twist uh. i don't think this one is for me lol
—MU-TE-Luv: So like, overall I'm 'eh' on this but it has Jan and Keen and Jamie and Neo in drag?? I feel like there's too many plots to hold together, though. 7 pairs, that is a LOT. Might enjoy some of it through tumblr gifs haha
—Cat for Cash: Cackling at the voiceover "i'm a debt collector" as First rolls around with a pile of kitties LMAO. These silly vibes remind me that, OH YEAH, I love his comedy work. (This Shipper and his scenes in Wake Up Ladies??) Oh my GOD did that woman have special cat-whispering powers and then transferred them to First in death?? This could be fun wait. Comedy First + supernatural element, always good. Oh and here's Khao looking so pretty :) FK vibes are FK-ing... look at them pulling OFF this cute fluff piece! <3 *stamps emphatically* WATCHLIST (ok hits unpause) ... SATANG?? ooo 👀 Also sorry I know he's all sad but... laughing as Khao's character cries and starts his list of reasons for running off with "the cats here hate me" 😂 / first: THE CATS ALWays TELL ME HOW MUCH UR MOM LOVED U lmao this is so unserious i love it. Leave it to me to have the most exciting piece on the list be the FK one. And I also get a dose of Satang! (Good to know that even if I drop That Summer I'll still have him somewhere! <3) Anyway didn't expect to be as hyped for this title as I am but HERE WE ARE
—Girl Rules: pretty pretty pretty. THIS LOOKS FUN, I love the messy love triangle vibes hehe. I hope we actually get to see the mixed-up pairing moments too, like a real shot of the NamtanLove kiss etc 👀 it's giving slightly toned-down fem only friends. Let them kiss everybody pls pls. Regardless, I'm hyped for this one !!
—Boys in Love: oh, side couple has the guy who played Half in MLMU. He was good in that. Probably won't watch it but *shrug*
—My Magic Prophecy: Not many thoughts but this could be good? I'll keep my eye on it
—A Dog and A Plane: Unexpected but I might keep my eye on this too! Looks fun.
—Me and Thee: I mean it's PondPhuwin, of course I'll give this a go. Look like it could be entertaining :)
—Wu: They're really leaning into the fortune-teller aesthetics this year haha, this is like the 4th trailer featuring tarot cards i think?
—Mamoir of Rati: AouBoom leads WHEN?
—Ticket To Heaven: OOH we digging into the religious themes and guilt here huh. GemFourth IN DRAMA ROLES AGAIN, THEY HEARD ME!! YES!! YESSSEUGIHI. ugh Fourth acting his lil heart out. I am SEATED. Darn we ended on a high note here HUH. This might be one of my faves in the bunch actually
/
Obviously my dash might pull a couple things to the forefront for me—and I might check out but then ditch some things— but as of now these are my reactions! Gotta say it's a SHAME that there are only two GLs though. Cry. But overall I am HIGH KEY looking forward to some stuff xD
A recap for the benefit of my future self haha:
Dare you to Death - joongdunk Whale Store xoxo - milklove That Summer (?) - satangwinny Cat for Cash - fk Girl Rules - multi gl My Magic Prophecy (?) - jimmysea A Dog and A Plane (?) - taynew Me and Thee - pondphuwin Ticket To Heaven - gemfourth
Anddddd. Now we wait! 😂

Awkward gap until next meeting. So. Things i COULD make on short notice
Software manual book(s): Easy. Mindless. Boring, but useful. I have at least two more targets in my sights, but i also have three half-finished books just waiting for cricut titles.
Long transformers essay: the formatting from pdf...... all the images........... but WHAT IF
Ylpeys ja ennakkoluulo: Needs learning time in Affinity, unsure how long formatting will take. Possible, also something likely to tank my sleep schedule.
Thousand Autumns: current doc has long stretches of half-edited mtl. That's. That would be a big compromise. I don't like it, I think I'd rather wait
Coming Up With A Villain Reformation Strategy: No proofread? It'd be fast. Unsure what commitment proofreading would be.
Peerless Immortal Surrounded By Demonic Disciples: Same issue.
Single-volume mxtx: Maybe. If I'm repeating myself i want something novel tho
Yuwu: Maybe? Same proofreading question, but this was a really good translation
Raksura fic: mmmmmmmmmmaybeeeeee. It's still actively updating though, it feels a little silly to commit a second time knowing it'll immediately be dated 🤣
PoF: maybe! Wouldn't be bad to at least format some pages for illumination practice even if I can't do much there yet.
New box????? Mysterious and vague, brut boxes make me happy
Writing
Raksura fic: I could :X Okay but this depends on me chipping at some short vignettes and either getting a full set done or being confident i have momentum to continue as i post chapters. Momentum is a gamble, especially since this is a destination wedding with vacation activities.
Bwx/xl: old wip, unsure how satisfied i am. But there was PROGRESS. I might be able to slam it out
Return to tlj shipping? No wips in progress, but he usually comes easily to me.
Brand new raksura fic: i have kink brainstorming i could try to leverage, but I really, really can't tell how well writing will go right now
Cronch fic: Oh.... That might work, ill have to look at that.
Ye olde svsss aus: restore diet bingge to second person, see if more scenes shake out. This is close to being something I'm willing to just post, but it's not QUITE got enough connective tissue. Finishing is probably outside the scope of "short notice" tho
Transcription. Also not short notice, but pleasing bite-sized chunks.
Art
Raksura
Cloun?????
Bones
Fiber
Other baby blanket: I'm.... Unmotivated. Crochet make hand hurty
Tardigrade: hand hurty is acceptable if the result is stuffed tardigrade. I need to find my safety eyes, though
Starscream cross-stitch: DEFINITELY not short notice, but very satisfying
Embroidery embroidery: Probably want to wait for better health, so I don't get frustrated.
Steering wheel cover: yes, probably, but that's a kit and won't scratch the sammmmme creative urges
Spinning: god, probably wait for better health and new house
Long furby: maybe do this BEFORE the move, tbh. But mystery time investment.
New applique quilt: also not short notice. Need a subject too. I feel like I'd had something in mind, but I'm drawing a blank.

Felix + father/daugher dance
@dandylion240 here's another one!
__________
Félix smiles to himself as he peeks through the open doorway of his daughter's bedroom and sees her happily drawing at her art table. When she was little and she was quiet for too long, it usually wasn't a good sign and he was sure to find her wreaking havoc somewhere, but these days he doesn't worry about it quite so much. Belle loves to draw, read and work on crocheting and knitting. As energetic and curious a child as she is, she can also be perfectly content to occupy herself in silence.
He taps lightly on the doorframe, and Belle raises her head. "Hi, Félix. What's up?"
"I just came to tell you dinner's almost ready. Davian says it'll be about ten more minutes."
"Okay," she says. "That's good. I'll have time to finish my drawing."
"What are you drawing today?" he asks.
She beams. "My future wedding. Want to see?"
"Of course," he says, as he steps into the room. He makes his way over to the table and glances down at Belle's drawing. She's only ten, and she's already very talented at art. It's not just fatherly pride making him say that, he tells himself. She's objectively very good, and he's proud.
The drawing depicts a Black woman in an elaborate white dress. That's obviously Belle. Next to her on one side are two men, one Black and one white, clearly Davian and himself. Who he presumes to be the groom, or perhaps the other bride, looks like a mannequin. The figure is shaded in grey, and Belle has drawn a purple question mark on the centre of their chest.
Félix is impressed with the symbolism.
"This is interesting," he tells her. "Are you trying to say who you're going to marry is a mystery?"
"Sort of, but not really," she says. "Like, I don't know for sure, but I think it's probably going to be Junior. Or maybe Chance, but definitely not Min-Jae."
"Oh? Why not Min-Jae?"
"Because, if I married him, my name would be Belle Lee, and that'd just be weird. I mean, can you imagine having to say that out loud to people?"
Félix laughs. "You have a point, but you know you don't have to change your name when you marry someone. Davian and I kept our own names, and Auntie Chloë and Uncle Aren kept theirs."
"Oh. Right," Belle says. "Well, I still think I'm going to marry Junior anyway."
"It's going to be a few years yet before you need to worry about deciding."
"I know, but it's good to be prepared."
"I guess I can't argue with that."
"You really can’t, ‘cause you’re the one who always says we should plan ahead," she reminds him. "I've been thinking about flowers and stuff, and what colour dresses the bridesmaids should wear. Pink, because that's Hope's favourite colour." She points to the half-finished figure with blond hair, next to the mystery partner. The woman's gown is partially filled in with fuchsia coloured pencil.
"Hope is going to be your maid of honour?"
"Uh-huh, and Winter and Caroline can be the bridesmaids. Pink is Caroline's favourite colour too."
"You've thought of everything," Félix says.
"Yeah, but there's one thing I still haven't figured out."
"Oh? What's that?"
"Well, I have two dads," Belle says. "And I love you both to the moon and back."
"And that's a problem?" he asks, amused.
"Yeah, it kind of is."
"Why?" he inquires.
"Because," she replies. "I don't know which one of you I'd pick for the father-daughter dance."

Weekend WIP Game
Thank you for tagging me, @rmd-writes and @thisbuildinghasfeelings!
I know I am very late to this, but it is still technically the weekend here in the Pacific time zone, so here we go. I'll be using the questions for Artists/GIF makers. (There are also questions for writers in @welcometololaland's original post!)
Rules: List your WIPs below (if you only work on one project at a time, feel free to include future WIPs/ideas!) then answer the following questions. Then, tag as many people as you have WIPs (or more).
1. WIP List:
I am so afraid to see these all written out in a way where I can count them. [deep breath] This is a rather mixed-up list of gif sets for 911 Lone Star, Schitt's Creek, and The X-Files. Also, since they're gif sets, they don't really have titles, just nicknames:
husbands fancy dinner lizard arc kisses quotes of devotion come rain or come shine spin instructors flashbacks yes way meet the parents until i'm okay, too pile of good things best man wedding attire tk stays capable and decent unspectacular things endless act of being loved gravity of hearts simply the best reassuring head kisses he's a jungle cat wedding behind the scenes soft light/tooms/squeeze hope is messy iris/tk arc you are good and i love you
2. Which WIP is your most complex?
Oh gosh. Anything that involves coloring of more than one scene, really. That's what slows me down. And pretty much all of these fall into that category. Which is a big part of why they're not done yet.
3. Do any of your WIPs involve you using a technique/style that you haven't used before? What inspired you to try it?
Um. Possibly? I'm not far enough along to know for sure, but I think a couple of them might involve trying out a new text treatment.
4. Which WIP do you expect will take you the longest?
I am historically a very bad judge of this. Lol. There are plenty of potential obstacles in that list. I'm afraid to jinx it/make things worse by saying anything specific.
5. Which WIP are you finding the most enjoyable to create?
The "lizard arc" set has been very enjoyable to play with. And I suspect that "he's a jungle cat" will be very fun to eventually get back to.
6. Do you have a favourite character to draw/stitch/paint/depict? Are they in many of your WIP projects?
Hmmm. Not really. I mean, I certainly tend to focus on my favorite ships, but I can't really pick a favorite from that group.
7. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?
All of them. Because I am self-taught and constantly second guessing absolutely everything.
8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of creator's block?
I suppose so. Although It's more lack of energy or just… utter frustration that results in a WIP getting a time out.
9. Do any of your WIPs contain characters outside the main ship? How are you finding creating those?
Yeah, definitely. There are a couple on that list that focus on other relationships.
10. What emotions are you hoping to convey through your WIPs?
It varies. Some are angsty. Some are meant to be funny. But I think, in general, they are all trying to convey love.
11. Are there any features/details you are finding challenging in your WIPs?
[gestures wildly at the lighting teams on every show, thwarting my best efforts to see what's going on]
12. Which WIP has the most complex shading/colouring?
Don't know yet. All of them. Lol. I can tell you that the "fancy dinner" set has been in time out for months now. Because of lighting and coloring.
13. Which WIP has the most complex background?
Not sure this one applies to me.
14. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for?
Oh, I really don't know. My opinions here change all the time.
15. Do you dream about any of your WIPs?
I normally do not remember my dreams. But very recently, I dreamt that I had finished one of those sets. I was very disappointed to wake up and realize it wasn't true.
16. Do any of your WIPs have particular complexities that your other art doesn't?
Hmm, I don't think so.
17. Are any of your WIPs commissions?
No, but some of them are friendly requests or things that came about from chatting here on tumblr.
18. Do you have a character that is more difficult to draw/stitch/paint/depict? Are they in many of your WIP projects?
I'm going to go with Patrick Brewer. That boy's face just… goes nuclear bright whenever I try to brighten a scene overall. There are a lot of rather pale characters on that show, but they take pretty well to coloring/brightening. He does not.
19. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs.
Um. Some items have been on that list for years. They're not abandoned, I promise. I am just not in charge of the creative process.
Since it is barely the weekend for me anymore (and no longer the weekend for many of you), please consider this an open tag!! If you'd like to play along, go for it. Even if the weekend has passed you by.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
I was tagged by @medusapelagia (hi, friend! <3) so here I am, a little late but here nonetheless.
How many works do you have on AO3?
13.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
233,667 words total so far. I write long stuff.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
At the moment it's only Stranger Things. I've posted for another fandom, but the fixation has changed and so here we are.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Of soulmates and colors; What happens in Vegas...; I just came to say...; Amok; and Like a curse.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to. I might not answer to all comments in the case of people who are binging one of my multi-chapter fics and I'm suddenly overwhelmed by the idea of answering 15 comments one by one (but it's the greatest kind of overwhelm available so please don't stop!)
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably What doesn't kill you makes you a monster, but then I recently added a continuation which is angsty as fuck but has a happy ending so I'm not sure if it counts. I tend to give stuff either a happy ending or a very hopeful ending. Life sucks already so much, let me at least give fiction a positive ending!
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Uh, hard question there. What's happier? The beginning of a new relationship? Elvis officiating your wedding to the love of your life? Soulmates defying death? A little coda about two monsters still being together in their fifties? You choose.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
So far, no.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do but I suck at it. Not sure how to answer the "what kind" question O_o' The... uh... the kind where people have sex?
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Probably the heist where characters from show A meet characters from show B (which is a show where some of the actors from show A had a cameo).
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Harringrove. Gallavich a close second. Metalsandwich, Mungrove and Tigerfrek follow.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
That Gallavich fic which is 90k words already and one day I'll finish and unleash on the world.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue? The hyperfixation? Don't know, honestly.
17.What are your writing weaknesses?
Descriptions. Smut.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Uh... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
19. First fandom you wrote for?
An Italian urban fantasy novel. It was for a contest.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Written already and published? It's a toss up between Of soulmates and colors (pure self-indulgence!), Amok (angst! feels! boyfriends being supportive!), and What doesn't kill you might become your friend (monsters! angst! my terrible smut!). But if we're also counting things I've written and not published yet, then my entry for Harringrove BigBang, An affinity for dead things, wins. This fic has everything! [REDACTED]! [REDACTED]! [REDACTED]! [REDACTED] [REDACTED] while [REDACTED] [REDACTED]! [REDACTED]! And it will have gorgeous art too! I can't wait for February to come, dammit!
And done, 20 questions! I'm supposed to tag people, but I'm too fried already, so, if you see this and want to do it, consider yourself tagged! U_U Now off to take care of stuff and daydream more of the new fic I'm writing, the one with the haunted car.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We made an offer on the house. I'm a little shocked how quickly this is all happening. But like. If this works out we're going to be in a new place by Christmas?? What the heck.
I am not allowed to be to excited. Like I am day dreaming. I have been day dreaming about it all day. Where we would put things. How well pack. Just all of that. But I'm not holding it in my chest yet. I'm just like. Wow. This is wild.
While that was the biggest focus of the day, it was not the only focus.
I had a little trouble falling asleep last night. Because I had realized that this house had no dishwasher. It has no dishwasher, or washing machine or dryer. So I decided that I needed to start a list of what we will probably need for the house and what that would cost. But I should not do that at midnight.
I did fall asleep. And woke up at 730. And James was there and that was excellent. They made me a little breakfast. And I got washed and dressed. They would head down first but I would come soon after them. I got an extra kiss and they told me how pretty I was again. Sent me off with a smile.
It was really chilly again today. Everything was frosty. But the car was warm and then the office was too.
I spent the first hour or so working on my research about what we would need for the house and why it would cost. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, couch, sleeper sofa, book cases, ECT ECT. Just anything I thought would make the space feel full and finished. And so then I started working through what we should offer on the house.
Basically my thought was that we should offer based on what we'll need to spend. So since my list ended up being a little less then $10k, we should offer $10k less then the listing price. I figured out what the monthly cost will be. What the full lifetime amount of the loan would be. And sent it off to James.
I would get out of the office after that. Even though it was cold. I went and got the gator and drove to the art building to get the trash from there. And stopped to talk to Joe about painting the lodge next week. And then I was off to the lodge itself.
It was stupid cold and I should have had my gloves on. My lips are still really chapped. But I tried my best to just get back inside quickly.
I got to the lodge though and would warm up in the basement (called the salt mines).
My plan was to go through the giant pile of frames. To figure out what we would utilize. But really mostly for now to just organize it because it is such an ugly pile.
And it was fun to go through everything. I made a few piles. Nature, salvation army and camp ephemera, the American west, and two Native American piles. One of acceptable pieces and one of questionable ones.
There was a lot of broken glass but thankfully I didn't cut myself. Did have to sweep some up but that was fine.
As I finished making the piles and sorting I texted Heather to come see what I found. And she would come over pretty quickly. I found some really neat stuff. Including some memorial plaques. One being for Chris's brother. We're going to hang it up in the nature center.
Joe would join us when we went to sit in one of the bedrooms down there. We were discussing moving furniture and painting and such for next wedding season. And Joe was coming to ask if we had been the ones to turn the heat on. But we had not. Still unsure who did that but it wasn't us.
Joe didn't want me to throw any of the framed pieces away. Which I get because Lou spent money on framing some of it. But also. It's just sitting in the basement and has been there for at least 4 years. But for sure longer. I promised not to throw anything out yet and would just sort it for now.
Sarah would join me after everyone else left. And helped me move things onto a different shelf and she swept and shook out the carpets. Which were so wildly dusty it was making literal piles of dust on the ground. Gross gross gross.
I decided to move some furniture around in the bedrooms to use the space better and make them feel more open. I don't know if they will change it again but I think it flows a lot better now.
We would load up the gator with a few things we found that we thought would be helpful. Like a paper towel holder and some trash cans. And an old sewing machine Joe showed me I said I would try to make work. And we were off.
After driving to the office we unloaded stuff and checked in with Heather and Alexi about what we did. But then back out into the world. Sarah went to search for a missing sign. And I would drive up to arts to drop off a few things. I did not sort my fibers boxes. I will do that on Tuesday.
Lunch was next. I did not microwave metal by accident this time. Thank you James for a plastic top container. I enjoyed my hotdog and watched some videos. And then worked on some house stuff and talked to James through a Google doc. It was nice.
I would spend the rest of the afternoon working on lesson plans and on figuring out what standards we could match against. Which is surprisingly difficult. It was easier for history, doing it with science is weirdly tough. Because evening seems so specific?? I'm trying but I wasn't having an amazing time.
So after I got bored with that I worked on my natural dye chart and I'm very happy with that. It was fun going through that and sharing it with Heather. I was having a good time.
James let me know that the realtor wanted to talk about an offer at 530. So that was exciting. I wrote out my idea for negotiation. This was before I understood he was our realtor and not the person selling it's. He would do the negotiations. But thankfully once we did get on the phone we were thinking basically the same thing.
Me and Sarah went to try to spray paint some tables but it did not go well so we gave up and came back to the office. I found a little pumpkin in the road. It was warmer out and honestly beautiful.
And it was time to go! I let James know I was going to make a pit stop. I decided I needed to drive through the neighborhood of the house.
We had seen it as the sun was setting on Halloween. So seeing it during the day, even if it was 430 was good.
My take away are that 2 blocks away is a very nice street. And the street the house is on is changing. Across the street two houses have active construction. The closest coffee shop is a 12 minute walk but a 2 minute drive. There is much trash in the alleys but there are a lot of people walking around. And I think I would be happy there.
So I went home. With a good plan. But I was immediately derailed.
As soon as I got home the whole building smelled like gas. Like cooking gas. And it was worse at our apartment. Because the oven was left on all day!! Terrifying. I turned that off and opened all the windows and put in fans and had to sit out on the fire escape with sweetp because it smelled so strongly. I was pretty upset.
James would get home and felt horrible for forgetting the oven. Both for danger and wastefulness reasons. Everyone was okay. No one was hurt. But it was scary.
We couldn't focus on that because it was time to talk to the realtor.
James put it on speaker and I tried to take control, much like when we got the car. I felt good about the offer the realtor suggested, with the caveat of a home inspection and an appraisal. I took notes throughout the call. And like. It's crazy. We put an offer on a house!!!
I called my parents and we talked through everything. Dad is worried about the neighborhood, because I'm not a "gangster like Jen was." But I need them to trust me. The neighborhood is a little rough. But I didn't feel unsafe. I like Patterson and it's one street over the invisible neighborhood line. I'm excited. I want them to be excited too.
James made us dinner after I got off the phone. I enjoyed my fake fish fillets. And after dinner I would go work in my studio and made a second giraffe. Which went a lot better then the first so that was nice. James came and helped.me stuff the legs and it was nice to spend a little time together.
I would take a bath. And chill with sweetp. And now we are in bed. James is reading and I am waiting to a video. But I am very much ready for bed.
I have the market tomorrow. And then I hope to have a nice afternoon nap and work on some stuff in the studio. I told Heather I would try to make some horses. So that will be fun to work on after I finished my last two giraffes. I hope to get a lot of sewing done this month to prepare for my holiday markers.
I am a little all over the place thinking about moving. But I'm so excited that we are making these steps. Like even if this house doesn't work out, I'm just so jazzed. Though I am worried about telling Mr Will and Tina. I love them as our rental team. I hope they are just like. Overly excited for us.
I hope you all sleep well tonight. I hope you stay warm and your lips aren't chapped. Goodnight everyone!!

A true home (The hobbit Fanfic)
Chapter 6
Kate's Pov
It was absolute chaos. There were dwarves everywhere. They were taking all the food out of the pantry and we just brought that. Not to mention, Ren is going to get hangry soon.
I stood out of the way as Dad tried to stop them. I'm surprised I haven't fallen yet. As I walked to where the girls were, one of the dwarves pushed past me and knocked me over. I closed my eyes and braced myself to meet the floor but strong arms wrapped around my waist. I opened my eyes and looked up to see Fili holding me to his chest.
I blushed like crazy. He helped me stand up straight and I thanked him before turning and walking quickly to my sisters.
"Ooh la la, someone's got a crush on a certain blonde haired dwarf. Do I hear wedding bells? Can we be the bridesmaids?"
Lilith kept smirking at me while Renée hummed the bride's march. I hit them at the back of their heads and told them to shut up. We looked at the dwarves and sighed at the mess they were making. That's gonna be a lot of food to clean up. We just leaned against the wall and watched them act like animals but it was pretty funny.
Renée leaned against me and I knew that she was done with socialising for the next few days. Balin looked at us with a 'why aren't you eating' look and we just mouthed that we didn't want to disturb them. He just chuckled and waved us over, showing the space next to us.
I informed the girls and we manoeuvred our way to where he was and sat next to him. Since Ren and Lilith already ate, I got some meat and salad because I didn't feel like eating too much. I finished my food rather quickly and looked around the table. Balin introduced us to all of them and vice versa. They were very sweet and kind to us.
"So you are Mr Baggins daughter. How did you meet these two?"
Gloin asked, causing everyone to look at us. I looked at Renée because she's the best person to handle this.
Renée's POV
"Well that's a story. Let's hope my brain wont shut down this time. Kat lost her mom when she was two and Bilbo thought she was dead but really she was taken to an orphanage. My family adopted her a year later. But all good things come to an end. My parents died in an accident, causing my older brother, Kate and I to go to the orphanage where we stayed for two years. Lilith's mom then adopted us when Kat, I and my brother, Tommy, were 9 and we lived with her until we were around 20. But then just last year she passed away so yeah that's our story. Been together since we were 6."
I explained as I held Kate and Lilith's hand. Lilith looked down when I spoke of Mama's death. She still hasn't gotten over it.
"And you brother. What happened to him?"
Ori asked. I looked down, letting a single drop before wiping it and looked at them.
"He was killed when we were 18. He was walking home from work when someone threatened him with a knife and tried to mug him but when he refused, the guy stabbed him and ran. He left Tommy bleeding out on the floor in an alleyway. We found out a few hours later."
Kate was trying to keep herself together but I know she was having lots of trouble but that was the last straw for Lilith. She got up and left. It was too much for her.
Lilith and Tommy were very close. Hearing us talk about him hits a nerve because she hasn't gotten over it. She wanted to kill the guy responsible. After we lost Tommy, we all gave up a bit. Lily sorted doing weed and drinking, basically anything you can think of so numb the pain, Kate stopped eating and lost her spark.
Hell, she even stopped drawing and slept until 11 in the morning. I began self harming and staying in my room. My marks slipped and I slept all day. Mama couldn't handle that so she did everything she tried to stop our unhealthy habits.
She managed to help me get help after I was found lying on the floor, bleeding out from cutting my wrists and attempting suicide. It also seemed to make Kate realise the situation so she got back into art but she isn't eating as much as she should have. Lilith was the only one who just ignored mama and kept doing drugs and drinking. She even began sleeping around and having one-night stands which we didn't comment on because we didn't really mind that just as long as she was being careful and safe.
It was only after mama got sick that she stopped. She does smoke but not as much as before and she cooled down on the drinking. After we lost mom, she was tempted to go back to her old habits but we stopped her. Her death is still so painful for us so we aren't really over it. But we're trying and that's what is important.
All of the dwarves just looked at us with sombre looks but we have accepted our reality. Kate and I excused ourselves so we could check on Lilith and we found her sitting in the living room. She looked at us.
"I'm feeling a lot better, you two. I just needed to get out. It was a bit too stuffy. I promise I didn't do anything. I just had a smoke."
She got up and walked to us, pulling us into a hug. We returned it and pulled away before doing a special handshake that we had. We walked back to where Bilbo was and let's just say he was pissed. He was complaining about the dwarves to Gandalf. Ori then came up to me.
"Sorry, I hate to interrupt, but where should I put my plate?"
Fili then came up to him.
"Oh here you go Ori. Here, give it to me."
He then threw it at Kili who caught it while having a pipe in his hand and threw it into the kitchen.
youtube
We looked at the stack of clean dishes and over mouths flew open,
"What the actual fuck? That was so cool. You gotta teach us. Imagine how quickly we'd get the dishes down. Ooh I can see it now."
Lilith was literally fangirling but she's got a point. That was fucking brillant. Gandalf laughed at our childishness. We then heard a knock on the door. The entire room became stiff and serious and we all looked at the door.
"He's here"
Oh boy. Here we go. Lets just hope Lily doesn't try to kill the guy. Not like the dwarves will allow that. This is gonna be interesting. The last thing I need is having to bury someone's body in the back yard because Lily couldn't control herself. Plus we read the book ad watched the movies so we know what's going to happen but even now its still feels like we never know what's going to happen. I just need to remember that I cant fall in love with Kili. I cant risk ruining the events of the story. Besides we were brought here for a reason and I think I know exactly what it is. I just pray to God or whoever the fuck is up there, that we wont fail because I don't think I can handle anymore death.

March Devlog
coding;
Cleaning up some old code.
Still integrating audio captions and hopefully image captions if possible.
All major scenes of the prologue exist in the barest of coding and are being fleshed out via animations and such.
writing;
Proofreading, mostly.
Planning out more scenes of Ellis route.
art;
Working on the final prologue sprite which is a side character and should go much faster. There's also one alternate outfit for the prologue that's been added for a main character. Not likely to see many alternate outfits but it's an important one. Also it's cute.
After that it's only backgrounds. 7 backgrounds have been planned out for the prologue (and will obviously be used in the full game as well). A few are finished, but there's still some work to be done.
Still hoping to afford more than one CG for the prologue demo before the kickstarter, but the one I felt was most important is planned out.
Possibly adding item cards that are doodled by me.
Work moves ever on despite literally everything going on around me. I'm actually possibly going to be going to a wedding AND get top surgery within the same month sometime soon. Not entirely sure yet. My plans are flying all over the place but I'm keeping at it!
Tumblr media
a preview of one of my stupid little item card doodles for your viewing pleasure
