Hi, I'm Canon. I'm a disabled artist with some kind of gender and homosexual tendencies. You might have seen my usernames around in posts about loving OCs, or complaining about video game inaccessibility, or attached to one of the worm-centric comics I made, like these ones:

I hate having to ask for help when there's already so much going on, but I am also At My Limit.

To make a long story short, I am very disabled in multiple ways and I am living in a very inaccessible (and often directly disability-hostile) home. While I live with family, they do not provide assistance (financial or otherwise) and our rural location and the glacial pace of Canada's social services have left me A Bit Fucked. (Whatever you think Canada's health care provides, either it doesn't, or it takes half a year to even book an appointment.)

I've asked for help in the past with smaller goals, but costs continue to add up - and this time, finally, I may be able to actually make permanent accessibility changes to the household... if I can fund it myself. On the amount I get from the disability support program in my province, I can't do that; I would have to stop eating for months to afford even one of the major renovations in that time, and, obviously, I can't do that.

What kind of accessibility updates would this be going towards?:

A wheelchair ramp at at least one exit of the house; there are four potential exits, and all of them are currently multiple sets of stairs without railings.

A stair lift (for upstairs access) or a walk in tub (for downstairs access), depending on what my family will agree to

Dressers / storage that I am physically capable of opening

HRT (guess what isn't covered by Canada's health care, apparently!)

A whole mess of medical appointments (vision, prescriptions, dental, infinite various symptom testings) and transportation to and from those appointments (guess what else isn't covered!!)

A functional freezer

Physiotherapy 👍

Food 👍👍👍

I have a genuine question, and I ask because as a follower, I admire your reasoning in most things! But I, like yourself, have criticized white rappers and the culture which values them. But I find it confusing that you do the same, while also writing and performing rap as a white girl. I'm curious about your reasoning! Is it because you don't really seek acclaim, or publish your stuff for any purpose other than just to make it? Would you say it's that you don't seek compensation or recognition? Or is it some totally different reason??

i think it comes down to how specifically you're looking at the issue.

the problem doesn't start and stop at "white people shouldn't rap because rap isn't for white people."

it's more along the lines of "the western entertainment industry at large has long enforced white colonialist ideals at its very foundation which puts white people at the top of the social ladder, making it significantly easier for them to become noticed and rewarded for being somewhat competent. for the past 30 years especially, people have been using imagery and themes originating from hip-hop culture to promote themselves with no regard for its history as a black art form. this leaves the actual black artists who create and uphold this artform underserved, underrewarded, underrecognized, underpaid, and sometimes straight up dead. and the crackers keep making money anyway."

so a couple things i decided before starting posting rap were:

i do not want to Be A Rapper, and im not going to try and become a rapper. there are plenty of white rappers already. im just a white writer who likes to rap. it's fun. if someone wants to buy a song i wrote off my bandcamp fine, if someone wants to collaborate with me that's awesome!-- but im not going to pursue this as any sort of financial opportunity.

im going to be fully honest with what i write, and how i write it. im going to avoid co-opting language that doesn't come to me naturally, and im going to avoid writing about a version of myself that does not exist. honesty is one of the most beautiful parts of my favorite raps anyway.

Hearts & Doodles

This extra/alternative universe scene was inspired by a comment on Chapter 35 by halbrander emarasmoak, talking about how Halbron would have drawn “little hearts and a doodle of them as King and Queen” on the parchment next to their names!

The scene would be set somewhere between chapter 36 (where they create the list of people for the expedition) and chapter 47 (before they go public).

Galadriel made her way to the town hall with swift steps, passing by the bulletin board next to the door without so much as a second glance. But when she grasped at the door knob, she did a double take. Slowly, she stepped backwards, towards the board, where they had hung up the list of expedition groups the evening prior.

She couldn't believe her eyes. Someone had drawn hearts next to her and Halbrand's name in black ink, along with two stick figures, holding hands. One of them had long wavy hair, the other shorter hair, and both were wearing crowns.

“What, in the actual f-”

“Galadriel!” he voice boomed across the town square as he strode energetically towards her.

“What is this?” she asked, turning from him and pointing to the paper.

“What is what?” He glanced at the parchment, taking a closer look at it. “Wow. Beautiful artistry Galadriel! Where did you acquire such stunning drawing skills?”

“Do not play games with me. Who did this? Did you do this?”

“Me? Do you think I could ever draw so majestically?”

“These are stick figures,” she hissed. “This is the drawing of a child.”

“What are you implying?”

“I am implying that you have been talking about us to your trainees and that they have taken it into their own hands to express their support, and show that they ship us.”

“Ship us?” He gave a chuckle. “Whatever does that mean?”

“Forget it. It is an elven saying you would not understand,” she huffed as she turned back to it. There was no way she could get it off the paper. And it wasn’t like she could take it down and rewrite it. Only this parchment had been stamped by the council. And she could not bring herself to return it to them and explain the situation to have them stamp another one.

“So what you are saying is that I have been telling my students that we are in love, and that one of them ran off and decided to graffiti the list?”

She glared at him. “Yes. That is exactly what I am implying. I'd even wager that you directly asked one of them to do this.”

"Galadriel,” he scolded as he tilted his head.

“Halbrand,” she mocked, copying his pose.

A little smile formed on his lips. “Let me tell you the truth of it.”

“The truth of it? So you do know who did this.”

“As a matter of fact, I do.”

“Then tell me who it is!” That only made him smile. “Don't you even think about blackmailing me. I need to know who did it.”

“Why? So that you can kill them?”

“What? No. So I can let them know that our relationship is none of their business!”

“Why then has your hand gone to your dagger again?”

She looked down to her hand, indeed grasping at the hilt of her dagger. She slowly let it go, trying not to blush.

“A force of habit,” she snarled.

“Fine,” he said. She snapped to attention. “I'll tell you… Under one condition.”

She glared at him, but his expression was unyielding. “Fine! What is it?”

“That you promise to forgive whoever did this. That you will not be mad at them.”

“Fine!”

“I did it.”

She laughed into the cold air before her expression became grave once more. “Enough with the games. Tell me who truly did it!”

“I did,” he repeated.

“You are making fun of me.”

“I am not I assure you.” He leaned forwards, closer until his head was next to hers, before whispering in her ear. “I drew it.”

She stepped back, holding at bay the way his soft voice had made her feel, focusing instead on the anger pulsing through her veins. “You are only protecting your students you-”

He lifted his hand, spots of black ink on his palm. Her eyes widened. “You did this?”

She wasn’t sure if she was to be mad, amused, or confused.

“I did.”

“You drew hearts. Next to our names. And those... stick figures.”

He smiled at her childishly. Fitting. “The stick figures,” he explained, “Represent us, by the way, in case it was not clear enough. See,” he pointed. “That’s you, with the long wavy, beautiful hair, and that, next to you, holding your hand, is me!” He sounded so self-satisfied. Way too self-satisfied.

She stood, frozen in place, as half of her wanted to slap him and the other half wanted to make out with him right then and there.

In the end, all she could do was glare at him with all the hatred in the world.

He looked back at her. “What is it? Do you not like it? I mean, I must admit, I feel like my drawing of you in particular does not do your beauty justice.”

“You... you…”

That made him smile. “I, I what?” he mocked her, stepping towards her.

Gosh she hated him for doing this, but she loved him for it even more.

“Come,” she said as she grabbed his wrist violently and marched into the town hall.

“I believe you promised not to be mad at the culprit, so if you are planning to kill me… in the closet…?”

She pulled him into the closet, bringing one hand into his hair, pushing his head down to kiss him while her other hand shut the door behind her.

She sighed into his lips as he kissed her back, holding her close.

“So... you... like my drawing then?” he panted between their kisses.

She smiled as she kissed him again. “Your drawing was atrocious.”

“Was it?”

He kissed her back before she could answer, covering her in his touch as he hands ran up and down her back. She lost herself in his touch.

“I-” she uttered as he moved his face downwards, kissing her neck as she tilted her head to the side. She lost her way to words.

“You what?” he asked, surely knowing that she was lost in bliss as his hand traced along her nape and the other side of her neck as he brushed his lips over her skin.

“I… I loved it,” she finally managed to croak.

“You did?” he asked between kisses.

“I did,” she sighed.

“Oh Galadriel...”

When all of that is done, I will create the PDF and upload it to the shared drive (I think this arc+extras is going to be about 200 pages!!) after that, I will take a break from HoG to finish other MDZS projects I halted, and after those are done I will take a break entirely to reread MDZS and consume all its media again, so I will remember forgotten parts and get that spark ready for Arc 3! Gilbert & Azel: The Relationship Unbeknownst to Anyone

Somewhere on a certain day—

Gilbert: "---I've always wondered if the conqueror beast and the sacred beast were one in the same."

Gilbert: "Both being evils of the world that control people and manipulate them as they please."

Azel: "I agree with the evil part. You and I would be better off not existing."

Azel: "We are both nuisances to the world, after all."

Gilbert: "Should we die together then?"

Azel: "You mean kill each other."

Gilbert: "That’s right."

Azel: "Disgusting."

Gilbert: "Agreed."

Azel: "So?"

Gilbert: "Hehe, no need to rush. I've went through the trouble of preparing food and drinks, so why not enjoy it first?"

Azel: "I'm having alcohol, while you're having water?"

Gilbert: "Oh, so you noticed."

Azel: "I am a god, after all."

Gilbert: "More like a con-artist, right?"

Azel: "That's another way to put it."

Gilbert: "Haha, you're not denying it."

Azel: "The title isn't that important."

Gilbert: "Really? I thought you’d be particular about it."

Azel: "I don't distrust human potential as much as you do."

Azel: "Humanity doesn't need gods or beasts."

Gilbert: "...Is that so?"

Azel: "Want to bet?"

Gilbert: "Sure, sounds interesting."

Gilbert: "Your schemes are like mirages, vague and hard to grasp, but..."

Gilbert: "I'll bet on the foolishness of humans."

Azel: "Then I'll bet the opposite."

Azel: "I'll bet on the potential of humans."

Azel: "They have the ability to cleanse themselves. They can recognize and atone for their mistakes."

Azel: "Make sure to prepare your money, Disaster boy."

Gilbert: "You too."

Some little notes I had:

*: There's a possibility of Azel being older than Gilbert, seeing as he would attach things like (ーくん)-kun or (ーちゃん)-chan to the nicknames he gave Gilbert…That or Azel's was just trying to antagonize him.

**: Alternative interpretation of the nickname carefree rich boy could be 'airheaded/thoughtless young master'

***: Alternative interpretation of the nickname (厄災くん or yakusai-kun)Disaster boy could be 'Mr. Calamity'

I wasn't sure which of these interpretations would fit Azel's dialogue more, so I wanted to leave these notes so that everyone can get a general sense of the word/nickname.

I'm going to be taking advantage of the trailer for Senna's new miniseries to explain a subject that Brazil has been talking about for years, and that I think is important to share, so as not to have disagreements with the somewhat uncertain future of the script made for the miniseries.

Explaining why many Senna fans don't like Xuxa, a great artist and his most famous ex.

All the information in this was taken and translated from a thread, which was taken from several public interviews and also from stories that we have been told about Senna since we were little, so I may forget some details!

the release of the trailer for the Netflix series “SENNA” has revived the debate about how Senna’s relationship with Xuxa is portrayed in the media. Firstly, it is important to know that they had a public relationship between 1988 and 1990 (we don't know for sure) their relationship was very well regarded by the media and by the pilot's family, after the end the two continued to be “friends” publicly for more 2 years

In 1993 Ayrton began dating Adriane Galisteu, which according to some articles irritated the pilot's family, as in addition to liking Xuxa a lot (who was already famous and rich at that time), they thought that his current girlfriend might have had her eye on his money. Shortly after the beginning of Senna and Galisteu's relationship, there were some interviews with the singer Xuxa, saying that Ayrton had cut off contact with her because of his new girlfriend, clearly with the intention of being welcomed by the public as the “poor thing” in the situation.

She is known for wanting to convey the image of an “inconsolable widow” to this day, which is an image that doesn't work very well in Brazil, especially those who follow the interviews with Ayrton's friends, and Adriane herself, who leave It's very clear the pure love they felt for each other, as Adriane was the love of his life, he wanted to form his family with her, and one of Ayrton's biggest dreams was to be a father, so he could understand that he wanted to fulfill this dream about her says a lot about his love for her

apparently the Senna series will show this Xuxa character as a “widow” figure for Ayrton, especially because here we know that Adriane was not called to help in any way regarding her moments with him during the development of the series, to be clearer , she thought the character's name wouldn't be hers, she thought they would make her a fictional character.

Unlike Xuxa, Galisteu's interviews are rarely trying to “get back into the media” using Senna's name, as well as being very elegant when mentioning all of the presenter's “stories”.

Adriane received an offer to be a Grid Girl at the 1993 Brazilian Grand Prix. She didn't like the idea, because she didn't care about F1, but she ended up agreeing as it was a good proposal. The first meeting with Senna took place on Saturday, during a social event at the Shell hospitality center, but they did not interact. On race Sunday, during the pitwalk, she was approached near the McLaren pits "I'm Ayrton Senna's private affairs advisor. He asked me to get his phone number." She passed and continued her work. She, who initially didn't like racing, found herself cheering madly for the Brazilian to win the race. And he won!

Another cute episode was one time they got into an argument over an interview she gave to a magazine. To apologize later, he surprises her:

"Have you been to the bank yet?”

He gave a beautiful interview about how much he loved her, he even gave images of the two of them to Caras magazine.

"One day, I'm going to marry you. And one day I'm going to race in a Ferrari. Even if the Ferrari car drives as fast as a beetle car, I want to be there at my last start, my last lap, my last checkout - I dreamed. - Ferrari is the mystique of Formula 1"

Many say that this relationship made Senna a happier man. That Galisteus made him much happier and lighter.

Words from one of the most important people in the pilot's life, Braguinha: “Ayrton was sad and she made him happier”

The book tells this and much more.

It was such a cute story that it seems like fanfic. Dri moved on with her life, but she always carries this important part with her. She says that she would never want her story to be disconnected from his, that she has the honor of being Senna's ex.

For those who like these behind-the-scenes things, it's worth reading! There are so many more stories there!

I admire Adriane Galisteu so much

heyyy I hope it's okay to send an ask! I just wanted to know about your art process, if you got any advise. Because I'm in love with your SH doodles, they're so dynamic and lively and the shading is such a nice accent yet it remains somewhat minimalistic? I'm relatively decent at realism but want to develop my own character in drawing more and I'm wondering how you arrived at yours, did you have a method? Thanks in advance^^

The short answer is that because I want to draw them a lot, and have limited time, I can't be too precious about how the final result looks! So a lack of perfectionism and a desire for speed ends up forcing me to simplify and stylize them. This was an organic process (if you scroll down my art tag you can see I was drawing them with a bit more detail, finish, and care a few months ago - I was illustrating vs what I'm doing now, cartooning).

Ideally when you are cartooning, every line of the character's face is doing work to make them THEM, and to tell a story. No unnecessary lines! I find that story is best expressed through eyes, eyebrows, and mouth (this might be different for you). Those features can and should change shape to express emotion. They are usually what I draw first, to figure out the emotion, and they're what I spend the most time tweaking.

The rest of the features - face shape, cheekbones, nose, forehead, ears, hairline - are less emotive, less 'plastic', they don't change shape much. These are doing work to make the character recognizable. I try to keep them simple and have a few simple rules that I can remember about each character.

(Watson is tricky because of his mustache! I've found that treating it as part of his mouth rather than a distinct piece works best, but even so it makes his face less emotive - which, honestly, works for the character, as he is less demonstrative than Holmes)

I'll usually do a simple underdrawing to figure out what the body is doing - trying to capture the energy of a pose and, again, thinking about what story the body is telling.

Then I 'ink' in the clothing, following the lines of the body and gravity. Victorian clothing is fun to draw, I find that the structure around the shoulders and neckline lends itself to expressive poses. I did a bunch of Victorian clothing studies a few months ago and felt like I built up a 'library' in my head so that I don't need to reference it every time.

Shading is incredibly minimal and quick. In really simple drawings, its purpose is usually to distinguish characters from the background. In more detailed ones, it's to give them a little dimension and focus the eye to the faces.

Every choice I make is in service of readability rather than beauty or accuracy, if that makes sense. So it is quite a different mindset than when you're drawing realistically or painting.

I hope this was helpful! I am a professional artist but whenever I get sucked into a fandom I find myself making leaps and bounds in my craft because I want to draw so MUCH and don't care about making it polished...truly shout out to hyperfixation for the gifts it brings
