insane year for music. megan thee stallion publicly scalping drake and offhandedly mentioning nicki minaj and nicki minaj losing it (and everyone losing respect for her). beyonce bombing the country genre and collabing with dolly parton. taylor swift releasing her worst album to date and even fans being like yeah i can't defend this. j cole experiencing divine intervention and saving the world from the unimaginable levels of haterism kendrick would've released if he'd had to put out diss tracks for two people. and now this. what the Fuck is going on
The Rap Rumbling has begun 😎 it was past time for some shit to be shook up.
Megan deserves all her flowers for bringing all this shit to the table fr. Because the way the industry and the world treats her as a Black woman trying to do her damn thing... Yeah. I fully support. She deserved far better than the bullshit that Terrible Man and the media put her through, and Drake never shoulda opened his damn mouth.
Tbh, I feel ambivalent about Jermaine dropping out. Because they're rivals. It wouldn't have been a hateful thing, it would have been like watching rivals verbally spar. Those two are similar in skill and respect for one another. It wouldn't have gotten as deep. So booooo Jermaine RAP Jermaine!! But at the same time, I can see wiping my brow with relief that I wasn't caught up in the public evisceration that is Kendrick with Drake rn. Bc this is next level. This is ACTUAL hatred.
And I don't think Kendrick is doing it for social justice either, btw. But I do think the result is gone be larger than his hatred.
As for Beyonce, I'm not even a huge fan like that, but I've always respected her skill and work ethic. And I'm always fully supportive of artists trying new genres. It annoys me when people are like "well this sounded better-" shut up!!! Artists have a love and creative urge for their craft!! They should try new things too!!! Why should they put out the same shit just to entertain you!!! Switch it up every time!
And look. That album is a joke lmao. This is a Taylor Swift Downfall Praying Blog. I don't even dislike her as a person, I do have some songs of hers I'll sing. But I am TIRED of having The Mediocrity of White Womanhood™ shoved in my face as Sublime. And that's what she represents to me. THAT'S what I hate. She's the Ideal American White Girl, the "teen girl next door" even though she's almost 40 atp. Like... We get it. She's "better" than the rest of us savage brown women despite the same behavior. Okayyyyy. 👍🏾

Alright so, my grammar and spelling will be bad due to the fact that it’s 3 am and i’m tired af– but when I saw your timeline i saw that ur years start at konoha’s founding which yeah makes sense because it's your timeline and you won't ever put what year is it on your well… fic.
But this got me wondering, what calendar system does Konoha– or well, the narutoverse use? Do all of the villages use the same calendar? Or does each village have their own calendar? If they all do use the same calendar, when was this decided on? On what day did they decide to start the calendar? How many months are in this calendar?
Do they use the ancient chinese style with the year of the rat or dragon? Or do they stick with the numbers? If they all have separate calendars, how would they meet? They all would have different days, years. How long is it in a day? Why is ___ is in year 200 while we’re in year 100?
Let’s just say.. They all do have the same calendar and they used the Gregorian calendar to make this simple– Do they use BE and CE (or BCE and CE) to abbreviate what year it is? What day do they put it on? When the last major village was founded or the first village that was founded?
If it’s the first village that was founded– which village? And well.. So on and so on until you couldn’t even remember what started this trail of thinking.
Calendar has always been the world building aspect that I get stuck on in every single fandom I'm in– but it never has been THIS bad for whatever reason. Maybe it’s because dates have always been a huge aspect in my life and that just… translated into fandom-space? Or maybe it’s because i’m obsessed with making fics that includes dates with them (i.e files, interviews, etc)
But why wouldn’t I just… make the date be like this? 1XX or 20XX like any sane person would? Is it because it sucks or what? Whatever the reason is, i;m cutting this ask short due to the fact i’ve been rambling for what? 5 paragraphs? thank you for listening to my rambling!!!
(PS this rambling may be easily debunked and all of my sleepless nights will be all for naught just because this exact question may all be shown in the anime or manga what year and what type of calendar they used which makes my 3 am rambling all for nothing. I hope it isn’t that.)
- N
N-anon, I hope you don't see this answer until you've got a solid night's under your belt 🤗
...because I do have some "bad' news
It's not ALL bad, because Narutoverse is a huge mess and continuity is very very touch and go. There isn't a Narutoverse Calendar to look up (I tried, it's all merch lol) but there are some clues that might leave you feeling a little deflated?
Naruto's milk carton had a date on it. 2.19.20. I don't know if this is the same in non-english versions because this is surely the American way of spelling dates??? I looked it up and Japan normally goes "year-month-day". So unless Narutoverse has 19 months...??? And if "20" is the year, twenty years from what???
I make the assumption that the whole continent shares a calendar and year system because of civilian record keeping, tax purposes, and the (seemingly untouched by Shinobi bullshit) rule of Daimyo and warlords. If they didn't, the logistics and reasons for this would be fascinating
XXXX dates always drive me wild tbh, they're better than most alternatives but, for example in My Hero Academia, they're also very confusing to me. Like, if it's a different world entirely, great; if it's supposed to be our world but 200 or whatever years ahead.... What about global warming, social change, and technological developments??? 😵 I can't take it seriously
Back to Narutoverse tho! Narutoverse characters seem to have their birthdays according to the Gregorian calendar (someone on Reddit has also pointed out that OG Narutoverse material has a mix of 70s/80s retro tech jumbled up with post-war Japanese nostalgia and, if you think about the ridiculous technological jumps from Warring Clans to Boruto, then... 😵) So this is where my happier advice comes in; fuck it!
All of your ideas/theories sounded really interesting and I urge you to apply the mentality of "fuck this shit, we play by my rules" to whatever in Narutoverse doesn't "spark joy"
❤️😤✨ your rambles were delightful, sleep well!
Edit: a connected ask on Narutoverse nostalgia, "crushed timelines", and mirroring RL -
And a second response to ^

I'm so tired of people discrediting Jungkook. This is no shade to any of the members, but seven would not have gotten the same results if it was given to another member. Jimin did a huge western collab with Angel pt1 and that didn't chart high on the hot 100.
Layover is another good example. Everyone assumed it would be on par to seven, but sadly, that's not the case. we will continue to see this with rm and jimin once they release their next projects. I just think people underestimate jungkook's popularity. Just look at bts spotify, 2/5 of their most streamed songs are jungkook's. If his next single doesn't do as well, then I'll take it back, but I have a feeling it'll be just as big since there's so much anticipation.
For real. Imo, to successfully record Seven, a few skills were needed: good vocals (which ruled out Namgi, leaving only the maknae line to choose from), good English pronunciation (which V struggles with still), pop vocals (not V's strongest suit, though I think his voice would fit the song better than Jimin's - but it would sound sweeter and more melancholic than JK's version, so it wouldn't be as commercial), charisma/popularity/visuals/etc. to help sell the song (obviously they all have it in spades). Jungkook's obviously the best vocalist, whose voice is the most suited for easy pop songs like Seven, has the best English pronunciation, and is also the most recognizable member of BTS to the GP - especially after the World Cup and CK, which are both GP friendly. Jungkook also has a more American-friendly image, because of the tattoos, piercings, etc.. He resembles an American male artist the most, so he's more accessible to Western audiences.
Imo, Vmin could not pull off the song like Jungkook, and the vocals are the biggest reason why. I also think, and keep in mind that I love Jimin to bits, but his Like Crazy performances showed he's still a bit timid performing on his own. Compared to BTS stages, his energy was muted, for the lack of a better word. Jungkook was so at ease, he radiated confidence, charm and power in every performance, regardless of the size of the audience (WC or Times Square). He was more nervous in interviews, but RM's the only one who doesn't look nervous often. I think V could pull off the performances and stuff, but his voice and English pronunciation wouldn't be well received.
I don't think anyone assumed Layover would be on par with Seven. It was obvious from the moment the first song dropped that it would not be super GP friendly and wouldn't be able to compete on a global scale with a bright English pop song that was promoted in the US. Tbh, I underestimated V's popularity, because I assumed Layover wouldn't perform as well as Face, but it surpassed it in many regards. V is really a lot more popular than I gave him credit for, and has very dedicated fanbases, though Jimin arguably has much bigger GP recognition. But V really proved his popularity with the streams and sales he pulled for an album like Layover - although the album has 4 versions, which definitely helped with sales. Yet, Jungkook will easily, and with 100% certainty, blow V and Jimin's records out of the water, and snatch that first nr. 1 on the BB 200 for the albums (assuming V hasn't already).
Jungkook's popularity is definitely underestimated. It's practically fanon that V's the most popular member. Even after Seven's amazing performance that's taken as a fact. I'd argue that even in the past it wasn't true or easy to say V was more popular, but since 2022, at least, Jungkook's popularity has sky rocketed. Everyone still insists on V being more popular or on the same level as Jungkook, but his TikTok, YT and Twitter records show otherwise. Plus, like you said, his songs perform very well.
I think JK's next single will be the Butter to his Dynamite, which is Seven. His Vogue photoshoot, more than the Dazed interview, have me actually believing that his next single will be a bit darker, maybe more rock? Perhaps it will be trendier but not as easy of a listen as Seven, which is exactly like Butter vs. Dynamite. The anticipation will be huge, and a lot more people will tune in for his single, so he'll likely outdo himself in many regards, but I doubt he'll beat Seven's biggest records and impact. There's also the issue with very little time having passed since Seven.
Yeah, not to sound like a solo stan, which I'm not, but only Jungkook could do Seven - and Dreamers too.
Thanks for the ask!

What about these?
Bleed Magic - IDKHOW
Wayne's World 2 - Rare Americans
Adventure Is Out There - AJR
Already Dead - Puppet
i wish i could wear hats - Brian David Gilbert
Bleed Magic: I found this track years ago when it had just released, entirely by chance. One of the better ones on that album, really. We love Date-Rape-Song in this household. Also, did you catch that this is the only track on the album that uses the "Turn The Page" sound effect they told us to be listening for? I think that's cruel, personally. Points for not recommending "Choke", though, I'm kinda getting tired of that one.
Well, I would recommend you Half Alive from this one, because I found them around the same time, but you already recommended me Half Alive so...do you mind bilingual music?
Wayne's World 2: Two? Why is it "Two"? Is there an earlier version? Is the first version objectively better, like "Saint Bernard"? Anyway, I think the most interesting part of this song is whatever that string is in the background. Is that a fuckin'...Mandolin?? Ukulele? Somethin weird. The instrumentation is what stops me from calling this "Generic", because it is sort of generic, but it's a really unique way of exploring something generic, y'know? It's sort of like subverting a trope, or at least that's how it sounds to me. Making the cliché interesting again. This is a song I would listen to for a day while it was stuck in my head and then get tired of it and want nothing to do with it ever again. And then I would keep seeing it in my feeds because the algorithms would be like "C'mon Sophie, you LOVED this track, you played it for 12 straight hours!!" and then eventually I'd probably start liking it again because I'd keep hearing it. That sounds hyperspecific but I swear it happens all the fucking time.
You're getting Oliver Tree this time, because their vocal styles have some overlap. I don't like this song, but take it anyway. It was either that or Modern Baseball which is also pretty hit or miss for me.
Adventure Is Out There: wait what?? what the fuck??? is this a peppy folk diddy or is it sad alternative? I think it needs to make up its fucking mind. And that's pretty sick, tbh.
you need something with a...banjo... something with a masculine lead and a banjo, yes? yes. Waiting for Death maybe?
Already Dead: This reminds me of the exactly one Falling In Reverse song that they keep re-releasing with different words, if Falling In Reverse were EDM instead of like...rock or...w/e is wrong with FIR... This song has a lot of allusions in it, and it really seems like it's about an actual struggle that's actually happening (which puts it miles beyond FIR), but I don't know if I can say I like this song, either, because it's just too peppy for a song that seems to be about contemplating suicide, at least at first glance (there's probably more to it that I don't see yet, but I'm dubbing this Rockstep-Suicide-Song for now).
I have suicide songs also. Have you ever heard Your Soft Blood?
i wish that i could wear hats: YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12:01 p.m-12:17 p.m
I got to go back for bloodwork but I got some of my levels done.
My ear is being less dramatic today. I'm doing laundry.
As I was shopping today the bot said, "$7.99," and I thought expensive.99 lol I started laughing. Food is fucking expensive nowadays. I actually laughed out loud. At least I can make myself laugh.
I slept really well last night for the most part. I had to use Mouthwash and I was so tired.... I was like fine I'll close my eyes for 5 minutes and then get up and use Mouthwash. I passed out prob by 10:30 p.m. I had my eyes closed at 10:11 p.m.
I didn't even write it in my sleep timer cause I figured I would get up and use mouth wash....
My only problem is I kept waking up with stomach pain. Idk why but I did get a lot of sleep.
I think my antibiotic is giving me the side effect of tiredness. I'm not against that. It sucks during the day but if I could fall asleep as fast I did last night every night I may recover from my sleep trauma. Maybe one day. It's only a 7 day course. So yea.
I am excited to see what my thyroid levels are like but I won't know for a while. I got to reschedule bloodwork for the fasting levels. I wasted a whole 50mg cbd gummie and now I have to go back to get bloodwork when I could have gotten it all at once. It sucks.
Also I got placed with a therapist. I feel like an asshole but she's African American and has some weird ass license nothing I've ever heard of and I don't want to see her. Everytine I've met with an African American therapist, she's been religious and highly against my trans identity. I don't like the mystery license either. It isn't like a lcsw or lmft. Its fucking odd. I feel racist but I wanted a white bitch. I hate to say it but people with dark skin often are religious.... and think people like me don't have a place in the world. Idk If I'm willing to meet with her tbh. I mean I'm being racist. I'm trying not to be but i have a lot of bad experiences with African American therapists.

Hey look! It Me!
Uh, hi!... This is my blog. I started this up because my friends got tired of hearing me rant for hours about my hyperfixations, so now I can get them out of my system here. Score.
My grand plan is to eventually make longform content on YouTube, Ala HBomberguy video essays with a little more love-letter sprinkled in. That by no means invalidates this blog, though, because this place is where I'm going to post WAY more shit. Random thoughts, practice sketches, rants that don't make sense as videos, et cetera.
I'm not sure anybody will actually CARE about that kinda content. Fuck, I'm not even sure anyone will care about the stuff I wanna post to YT. But this is just as much for me as it is for any potential viewers. Sometimes you have thoughts that you just gotta get out of your head and into the open, you know? And maybe for the early days that "into the open" might mean "into the void" but I'm alright with that.
I don't need people to care, I just need to have said my piece. 'Try your best and accept the outcome', you know?
Alright, maybe that's a little too philosophical for one post. I think it's about time I introduced myself.
Howdy! My name is TumbleBagel. You can find me on Youtube as Everything Bagel Animations. And you can find me on Among Us as Space Bagel. Really Bagels are just my whole thing. TBH, I don't actually know how that started, but I've taken it in stride to represent "variety content".
Everything Bagel == Everything Blog
I am trans. My pronouns are She/They. I've been on HRT for... just under 3 months now. I surround myself with grays and blues but secretly my favorite color is Red. I know American Sign Language. I'm not completely *fluent* since I only took up to ASL II in college for my foreign language credit, but I know enough to hold a conversation.
(Side note: Even if you have no need for ASL in your life, LEARN THE ASL ALPHABET. It's so fucking useful. If you need to communicate silently, or across a loud and busy room, or have your mouth full. It's just generally such a good utility. If you're feeling especially adventurous, you can also learn to count to 10 on one hand, which is also quite useful!)
My two favorite games are Undertale, and The Outer Wilds, but for completely different reasons. I can't choose either to be my favorite game because they're simply not comparable.
I'm a deep-fandom, long time Undertale fan, and you can easily recognize me by the heart locket that I always wear from the Collector's Edition of the game.
I also wear a rather recognizable dark-grey hoodie everywhere I go. It's glued to my body. This has proven especially uncomfortable given that I live in Florida, where the sun is so close that tourists are sometimes picked up and eaten by its gravitational pull.
I prefer coffee over tea, but my opinions on tea have softened over time.
I like to swear. My favorite is "Son of a Motherfuck" because it makes no sense :3
I like retro lofi stuff, but also magic and catgirls. I have a bad habit of including coffee shops in my medival D&D campaigns. I may also reference mature themes in my content, so view at your own discretion.
I'm currently going to school to become a Librarian, at which point I will fuck off to a small town in the middle of nowhere in the Pacific Northwest, working the tiny local library by day, and drawing for my blog & channel in my free time. I had originally gone to school for art, but came to the conclusion that I want to draw art for MYSELF, not by anyone else is standards, and not under the pressure of making a living.
Aaaaaaaaaaaand I think that's everything.
I'm excited. Whole new world of opportunities. Now if I could just find my motherfuCKING TABLET PEN-!

part 2
Abysmal. There is a character limit, I can't believe this madness. Anyway.
We walked through a bunch of claw machine/gatcha shops and played a little bit. It was nice and I saw a very dedicated lady trying her absolutely hardest trying to get a golden kamuy figurine. She got it in the end, I was so happy for her. I was gonna attempt myself and if I got it I would've given it to her. She looked so close to giving up. Ahh, human perseverance. After that we got tired and went to a cafe where we waited for another addition to the party. A scottish JET, we outnumbered the American 3:1, fuck yeah. After meeting up with walked around further and went to a retro game store called Super potato or some shit. It was actually really cool lol, they had a claw machine for random ds/psp games and just a bunch of niche but cool japanese titles that we never saw in the west. One day I'll be able to read and play them properly. After that we found a fucking kebab stand, me and the friend I was staying with went ballistic, much to the american's confusion. Also the way americans say kebab is hilarious lol. We instantly buy some wraps and devour them, although it made me sad because it didn't hit the same as home. Guess it'll never be the same. Straight after I bought takoyaki, it was a very fat day but we walked like 30,000 steps by the end of the day so it should be fine - plus im on holiday. I'm not actually the biggest fan of takoyaki btw, too fucking heavy of a food. It's like eating a small rock every ball. After that we decide to find an izakaya and wind down. We find a place with outdoor seating and a perfect 6 seats, we were expecting two more JETs. Two more americans which unfortunately bring the numbers even. When they arrived, it was lovely. We all just spoke about random shit I can't even remember and drank. It was a great night. We bonded and exchanged instagrams, the Osaka JETs loved me and I them. Before going home we went to a conbini and I bought ice cream along with this other JET who LOVES ice cream. She bought one earlier too so I thought I'd join her this time. We ate ice cream and went on our merry way home. Two of the JETs go on the same train as us so we mingled a bit more. The girls all decided to have a twilight binge together, they invited me too but damn I smelled like shit. Ain't no way I'm polluting someone else's house. Especially after she showed me how nice her little place was lol. It'd be like a hotbox but instead of weed it's dutty fuckin' pits and tbh whole body. It was hot ok and I suffer in those conditions. 35 degrees celcius and crazy humid. Also we were exhausted since we've been running on 5 hours sleep. SO WE GO HOME, shower and sleep pretty much straight away.
The next day I woke up, packed up early to meet a former coworker from the UK. He was in Japan for a couple of weeks and I promised I'd meet him, that was actually the whole reason I came to Osaka. I said goodbye to my friend and went straight to the station my friend was arriving to. Travelling around Osaka was easy, it was pretty much identical to the tube. Just with better trains (airconditioned). I reunited with my former coworker and it was great lol. It's felt good speaking to someone I've known for a pretty long time, even though realistically we've only been apartment for like just under two months lol. Not much to actually write about but we did some touristy things! Went to the aquarium, which was actually the biggest aquarium in the world when it was built in 1990. I remember reading it on wikipedia before I was here randomly. I didn't realise it was the same one till I got there and felt a hint of familiarity. After that we met up with the rest of his friends which was amusing, a total of 6 black people and me so everyone was looking at us. I couldn't stay long but I helped them find a restaurant and order, talk a small bit, exchanged instas and left for my dreaded 7 hour journey back home. My friend actually walked with me to the coach station, bless him and i almost missed it too lol. I was very panicked and annoyed, thank you D for putting up with that. I hope the rest your trip to Japan was great.
The coach journey itself was fine, this time I actually slept most of the way unlike last time. I couldn't wait to be home and when I got home I was greeted by my neighbourhood cat Pochi. I was happy.
AWAY THAT CONCLUDES THE OSAKA ARC AND IM LAZY AGAIN
love, J-sensei

girly rave in chengdu
went to a rave last weekend in chengdu.
it was fun!
i think it really hit home for me there how closed off from the outside (Western) world China has really become. in Taipei, techno events are usually at least half white Western expats (mostly European guys and rly young exchange students). this chengdu rave was like...almost all Chinese (mostly Szechuanese judging from dialect). except one German girl (why is there always a German?? any rave anywhere in the world???).
it was refreshing, actually, to be at a techno event where the vibe was not mid European guys holding drinks and their overdressed Taiwanese gfs vaping. it reminded me of my first rave, in nyc - a queer rave with a lot of open gay-ness, lesbians, trans people clearly there for the celebration of queerness as much as for the music. at this chengdu event there were a ton of lesbians. a lot of women in general actually -- more women than men, and both the DJs playing that night were women.
(reminded me of something my cousin said: apparently Szechuan is the province in China where women have the highest societal status and comparative equality to men, a factor that influenced Luis Vuitton's decision to open their China flagship in Chengdu??)
the vibe was very house party-esque -- felt like a close-knit community who knew each other well. a lot of ppl were there just to hang out rather than to dance/get wasted. little clusters of friend groups posted up outside the venue all night, gossiping n smoking n hugging n talking each other through gay heartbreak </3 .
i danced a lot and then wanted to chat w people but nobody really approached me :( i even did the thing where i bummed cigarettes as a way to enter a conversation but it did not work, people just gave me a cigarette silently lol. that's something i'm still not used to - the general standoffishness of Asian people at nightclubs. not that i find Americans at raves especially friendly, but i do think American raves (esp very gay ones) have more of a loose, chummy intimate feel -- you can randomly start dancing w strangers, vibing, hugging, whatever -- whereas Asians definitely respect each others' personal space on the dancefloor. it's something i miss a lot about nyc tbh.
the space was super small - two rooms, the smaller room was like the size of my living room in taipei. they had a brazilian DJ playing there and a cute cooler w juice boxes and chrysanthemum tea, etc. the bigger room had a local Chengdu DJ, an older lady, chainsmoking n getting rly drunk and the crowd was going HARD for her. like screaming for their favorite tracks and they were rly rly dancing. apparently they dance till sunrise at these things. there's no official end time it's just when ppl get too tired, usually 6 or 7am.
the one thing i disliked was how much ppl were smoking. they smoke A LOT here, like ppl were chainsmoking like crazy while dancing inside this tiny closed room, it was SOUPY w secondhand smoke. i was coughing the day after and i feel like it's still in my lungs now :'((( why do chinese ppl have to smoke so much???
i've been thinking about raving in general lately n my relationship to it -- there was a time like two years ago when i first started clubbing, when i really thought dancing n clubbing could be like...my meaning in life LOL. my salvation. i was inspired by david mancuso in the 70s, the infamous utopian loft parties, the subversive gay/black subculture that gave rise to techno, and i was hosting these cute!! DIY!! basement parties w my friends thinking that possibly RAVE COULD SAVE THE WORLD. or at least save...people like me? lesbian misfits seeking art n community??
these days i feel like so much older. like idk. maybe dancing n loud techno n drugs is just...dancing n techno n drugs?? you go out enough and everything starts to feel the same, the crowd around you gets younger and younger, you recognize the same characters on the dancefloor no matter where in the world it is.
i think i'm getting to a stage where i either need more out of clubbing (like, i'm craving a clubbing/dancing experience that's more overtly community-based and warm and intentionally uplifting) or maybe, clubbing is no longer satisfying my need for... whatever, a creative/energetic outlet, a sense of vibing and celebration with others.
(also: see this masterpiece of music journalism that describes the clubbing scene in chengdu)

Hello! Fellow African American follower here. Your take is quite valid, actually. The problem with Strange World is partially that there was hardly any marketing on it.
And yes, the problem with the black Ariel/Tinkerbell is like they're taking media and making them black, and they're wasting money on something that was already fine from the original.
Also thank you for validating that us African Americans should complain. I'm tired of making characters black just to be woke, when there's numerous opportunities to make original black characters.
yeah no yall valid im just tired of my fellow white people getting mad/butthurt over it for the wrong reason. they're mad bc they can't get over that someone of colour was cast as them when they say it should be a white actress. im not dismissing that originally they were white, but it has no impact on us white people whether they're white or black, it's not like the rest of the cast isn't 90% white anyway get over yourselves lol.
african american people are the only ones who should complain about any of this imo. like i agree strange world was wounded by the marketing but i saw people on here who knew about it saying they weren't going to see it cuz they thought its story was gonna suck/its animation was ugly??? from one trailer/poster??? so there were people out there who made a CONSCIOUS decision not to see it. and that's the problem tbh. that's why i'm mad about strange world in particular.
anyway, dont wanna talk over what you said bc you said it perfeclly just wanted to add on/clarify what i said so just going to post this now

thoughts on the final?
sorry this is like almost a week late
keeping my ramblings below the cut!
pre-match: okay ngl i wanted an 'underdog' team in the finals. (morocco 😭) fra and arg are like big teams when it comes to football so i was kinda demotivated to watch it tbh haha. and i was torn between like not wanting fra to win twice in a row and also not wanting arg to like glorify messi further (note: i have nothing against messi btw, i think he's a great player and deserves all the success he has, but i didn't want it to be like oh he's god now because he has the wc too, like he doesn't need to win the wc to be the best player or sth right? he's good already!) + us gunners don't like emi for reasons haha. but then again i have blorbos in fra... so your girl was in a dilemma!! 😵‍💫
during the match: okay the match itself. first half was kinda dead ngl. idk what happened to fra but let's just pretend the first half didn't exist. 🫣 it was almost like fra was gonna serve arg the win on a golden platter. arg played well tho, so good for them! then france stepped up in the second half, and only then the match started to become spicy!! we gotta admit kyky served cunt!!! like c'mon he was working his ass off in the second half and it paid off. varane's thicc ass putting arg onside was not on my bingo card but hey, that's the world cup for ya. loved the memes. i hate extra time, i hate penalties. i hate when the result of a match depends on penalties plsss it's like the 90 mins of game before was a waste hshs. felt really bad for the players who missed btw.
post-match: in the end, i'm kinda cool with arg winning i guess, i mean they played quite consistently throughout the match. look idk how they decide the golden ball winner, but i think there were other players that performed better in the wc? (correct me if i misunderstood how this award works haha). i didn't mind emi doing his dance during the penalty shootout because like wtv it's a celebration right? but i think the 'fucking the glove' thing in front of the Emir and like the entire world was kinda inappropriate?? idk haha my parents and younger brothers were like wtf?? okay that all aside, not surprised by the racism that came after, but like i'm tired of it tbh, can ppl stop taking football so seriously like you really wanna attack young coloured players for representing the country in the biggest global football tournament whilst you're screaming shit behind the screen?? also ppl were saying that ky called south american teams inferior or sth, and turns out, from the original video source and translations, it wasn't?? bruhh ppl really making up shit to attack a kid. look, if y'all find him arrogant or sth or just simply don't like him, that's cool y'know. you don't need to come up with some reason to hate him lol.
welp, at least we saved morocco from the heartbreak, and i hope to see them do better in the next wc!!
okay i think i should stop here, hope i covered everything, anon! HAHA

Re: the post you reblogged about Bush. I'm 21 and tbh feel like I can only vote for Bernie, can you explain if/why I shouldn't? Thanks and sorry if this is dumb or anything.
Oh boy. Okay, I’ll do my best here. Note that a) this will get long, and b) I’m old, Tired, and I‘m pretty sure my brain tried to kill me last night. Since by nature I am sure I will say something Controversial ™, if anyone reads this and feels a deep urge to inform me that I am Wrong, just… mark it down as me being Wrong and move on with your life. But also, really, you should read this and hopefully think about it. Because while I’m glad you asked this question, it feels like there’s a lot in your cohort who won’t, and that worries me. A lot.
First, not to sound utterly old-woman-in-a-rocking-chair ancient, people who came of age/are only old enough to have Obama be the first president that they really remember have no idea how good they had it. The world was falling the fuck apart in 2008 (not coincidentally, after 8 years of Bush). We came within a flicker of the permanent collapse of the global economy. The War on Terror was in full roar, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were at their height, we had Dick Cheney as the cartoon supervillain before we had any of Trump’s cohort, and this was before Chelsea Manning or Edward Snowden had exposed the extent of NSA/CIA intelligence-gathering/American excesses or there was any kind of public debate around the fact that we were all surveilled all the time. And the fact that a brown guy named Barack Hussein Obama was elected in this climate seems, and still seems tbh, kind of amazing. And Obama was certainly not a Perfect President ™. He had to scale back a lot of planned initiatives, he is notorious for expanding the drone strike/extrajudicial assassination program, he still subscribed to the overall principles of neoliberalism and American exceptionalism, etc etc. There is valid criticism to be made as to how the hopey-changey optimistic rhetoric stacked up against the hard realities of political office. And yet…. at this point, given what we’re seeing from the White House on a daily basis, the depth of the parallel universe/double standards is absurd.
Because here’s the thing. Obama, his entire family, and his entire administration had to be personally/ethically flawless the whole time (and they managed that – not one scandal or arrest in eight years, against the legions of Trumpistas now being convicted) because of the absolute frothing depths of Republican hatred, racial conspiracy theories, and obstruction against him. (Remember Merrick Garland and how Mitch McConnell got away with that, and now we have Gorsuch and Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court? Because I remember that). If Obama had pulled one-tenth of the shit, one-twentieth of the shit that the Trump administration does every day, he would be gone. It also meant that people who only remember Obama think he was typical for an American president, and he wasn’t. Since about… Jimmy Carter, and definitely since Ronald Reagan, the American people have gone for the Trump model a lot more than the Obama model. Whatever your opinion on his politics or character, Obama was a constitutional law professor, a community activist, a neighborhood organizer and brilliant Ivy League intellectual who used to randomly lie awake at night thinking about income inequality. Americans don’t value intellectualism in their politicians; they just don’t. They don’t like thinking that “the elites” are smarter than them. They like the folksy populist who seems fun to have a beer with, and Reagan/Bush Senior/Clinton/Bush Junior sold this persona as hard as they possibly could. As noted in said post, Bush Junior (or Shrub as the late, great Molly Ivins memorably dubbed him) was Trump Lite but from a long-established political family who could operate like an outwardly civilized human.
The point is: when you think Obama was relatively normal (which, again, he wasn’t, for any number of reasons) and not the outlier in a much larger pattern of catastrophic damage that has been accelerated since, again, the 1980s (oh Ronnie Raygun, how you lastingly fucked us!), you miss the overall context in which this, and which Trump, happened. Like most left-wingers, I don’t agree with Obama’s recent and baffling decision to insert himself into the 2020 race and warn the Democratic candidates against being too progressive or whatever he was on about. I think he was giving into the same fear that appears to be motivating the remaining chunk of Joe Biden’s support: that middle/working-class white America won’t go for anything too wild or that might sniff of Socialism, and that Uncle Joe, recalled fondly as said folksy populist and the internet’s favorite meme grandfather from his time as VP, could pick up the votes that went to Trump last time. And that by nature, no one else can.
The underlying belief is that these white voters just can’t support anything too “un-American,” and that by pushing too hard left, Democratic candidates risk handing Trump a second term. Again: I don’t agree and I think he was mistaken in saying it. But I also can’t say that Obama of all people doesn’t know exactly the strength of the political machine operating against the Democratic Party and the progressive agenda as a whole, because he ran headfirst into it for eight years. The fact that he managed to pass any of his legislative agenda, usually before the Tea Party became a thing in 2010, is because Democrats controlled the House and Senate for the first two years of his first term. He was not perfect, but it was clear that he really did care (just look up the pictures of him with kids). He installed smart, efficient, and scandal-free people to do jobs they were qualified for. He gave us Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor to join RBG on the Supreme Court. All of this seems… like a dream.
That said: here we are in a place where Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren are the front-runners for the Democratic nomination (and apparently Pete Buttigieg is getting some airplay as a dark horse candidate, which… whatever). The appeal of Biden is discussed above, and he sure as hell is not my favored candidate (frankly, I wish he’d just quit). But Sanders and Warren are 85% - 95% similar in their policy platforms. The fact that Michael “50 Billion Dollar Fortune” Bloomberg started rattling his chains about running for president is because either a Sanders or Warren presidency terrifies the outrageously exploitative billionaire capitalist oligarchy that runs this country and has been allowed to proceed essentially however the fuck they like since… you guessed it, the 1980s, the era of voodoo economics, deregulation, and the free market above all. Warren just happens to be ten years younger than Sanders and female, and Sanders’ age is not insignificant. He’s 80 years old and just had a heart attack, and there’s still a year to go to the election. It’s also more than a little eye-rolling to describe him as the only progressive candidate in the race, when he’s an old white man (however much we like and approve of his policy positions). And here’s the thing, which I think is a big part of the reason why this polarized ideological purity internet leftist culture mistrusts Warren:
She may have changed her mind on things in the past.
Scary, right? I sound like I’m being facetious, but I’m not. An argument I had to read with my own two eyes on this godforsaken hellsite was that since Warren became a Democrat around the time Clinton signed Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, she sekritly hated gay people and might still be a corporate sellout, so on and etcetera. (And don’t even get me STARTED on the fact that DADT, coming a few years after the height of the AIDS crisis which was considered God’s Judgment of the Icky Gays, was the best Clinton could realistically hope to achieve, but this smacks of White Gay Syndrome anyway and that is a whole other kettle of fish.) Bernie has always demonstrably been a democratic socialist, and: good for him. I’m serious. But because there’s the chance that Warren might not have thought exactly as she does now at any point in her life, the hysterical and paranoid left-wing elements don’t trust that she might not still secretly do so. (Zomgz!) It’s the same element that’s feeding cancel culture and “wokeness.” Nobody can be allowed to have shifted or grown in their opinions or, like a functional, thoughtful, non-insane adult, changed their beliefs when presented with compelling evidence to the contrary. To the ideological hordes, any hint of uncertainty or past failure to completely toe the line is tantamount to heresy. Any evidence of any other belief except The Correct One means that this person is functionally as bad as Trump. And frankly, it’s only the Sanders supporters who, just as in 2016, are threatening to withhold their vote in the general election if their preferred candidate doesn’t win the primary, and indeed seem weirdly proud about it.
OK, boomer Bernie or Buster.
Here’s the thing, the thing, the thing: there is never going to be an American president free of the deeply toxic elements of American ideology. There just won’t be. This country has been built how it has for 250 years, and it’s not gonna change. You are never going to have, at least not in the current system, some dream candidate who gets up there and parrots the left-wing talking points and attacks American imperialism, exceptionalism, ravaging global capitalism, military and oil addiction, etc. They want to be elected as leader of a country that has deeply internalized and taken these things to heart for its entire existence, and most of them believe it to some degree themselves. So this groupthink white liberal mentality where the only acceptable candidate is this Perfect Non-Problematic robot who has only ever had one belief their entire lives and has never ever wavered in their devotion to doctrine has really gotten bad. The Democratic Party would be considered… maybe center/mild left in most other developed countries. It’s not even really left-wing by general standards, and Sanders and Warren are the only two candidates for the nomination who are even willing to go there and explicitly put out policy proposals that challenge the systematic structure of power, oppression, and exploitation of the late-stage capitalist 21st century. Warren has the billionaires fussed, and instead of backing down, she’s doubling down. That’s part of why they’re so scared of her. (And also misogyny, because the world is depressing like that.) She is going head-on after picking a fight with some of the worst people on the planet, who are actively killing the rest of us, and I don’t know about you, but I like that.
Of course: none of this will mean squat if she (or the eventual Democratic winner, who I will vote for regardless of who it is, but as you can probably tell, she’s my ride or die) don’t a) win the White House and then do as they promised on the campaign trail, and b) don’t have a Democratic House and Senate willing to have a backbone and pass the laws. Even Nancy Pelosi, much as she’s otherwise a badass, held off on opening a formal impeachment inquiry into Trump for months out of fear it would benefit him, until the Ukraine thing fell into everyone’s laps. The Democrats are really horrible at sticking together and voting the party line the way Republicans do consistently, because Democrats are big-tent people who like to think of themselves as accepting and tolerant of other views and unwilling to force their members’ hands. The Republicans have no such qualms (and indeed, judging by their enabling of Trump, have no qualms at all).
The modern American Republican party has become a vehicle for no-holds-barred power for rich white men at the expense of absolutely everything and everyone else, and if your rationale is that you can’t vote for the person opposing Donald Goddamn Trump is that you’re just not vibing with them on the language of that one policy proposal… well, I’m glad that you, White Middle Class Liberal, feel relatively safe that the consequences of that decision won’t affect you personally. Even if we’re due to be out of the Paris Climate Accords one day after the 2020 election, and the issue of climate change now has the most visibility it’s ever had after years of big-business, Republican-led efforts to deny and discredit the science, hey, Secret Corporate Shill, am I right? Can’t trust ‘er. Let’s go have a craft beer.
As has been said before: vote as far left as you want in the primary. Vote your ideology, vote whatever candidate you want, because the only way to make actual, real-world change is to do that. The huge, embedded, all-consuming and horrible system in which we operate is not just going to suddenly be run by fairy dust and happy thoughts overnight. Select candidates that reflect your values exactly, be as picky and ideologically militant as you want. That’s the time to do that! Then when it comes to the general election:
America is a two-party system. It sucks, but that’s the case. Third-party votes, or refraining from voting because “it doesn’t matter” are functionally useless at best and actively harmful at worst.
Either the Democratic candidate or Donald Trump will win the 2020 election.
There is absolutely no length that the Republican/GOP machine, and its malevolent allies elsewhere, will not go to in order to secure a Trump victory. None.
Any talk whatsoever about “progressive values” or any kind of liberal activism, coupled with a course of action that increases the possibility of a Trump victory, is hypocritical at best and actively malicious at worst.
This is why I found the Democratic response to Obama’s “don’t go too wild” comments interesting. Bernie doubled down on the fact that his plans have widespread public support, and he’s right. (Frankly, the fact that Sanders and Warren are polling at the top, and the fact that they’re politicians and would not be crafting these campaign messages if they didn’t know that they were being positively received, says plenty on its own). Warren cleverly highlighted and praised Obama’s accomplishments in office (i.e. the Affordable Care Act) and didn’t say squat about whether she agreed or disagreed with him, then went right back to campaigning about why billionaires suck. And some guy named Julian Castro basically blew Obama off and claimed that “any Democrat” could beat Trump in 2020, just by nature of existing and being non-insane.
This is very dangerous! Do not be Julian Castro!
As I said in my tags on the Bush post: everyone assumed that sensible people would vote for Kerry in 2004. Guess what happened? Yeah, he got Swift Boated. The race between Obama and McCain in 2008, even after those said nightmare years of Bush, was very close until the global crash broke it open in Obama’s favor, and Sarah Palin was an actual disqualifier for a politician being brazenly incompetent and unprepared. (Then again, she was a woman from a remote backwater state, not a billionaire businessman.) In 2012, we thought Corporate MormonBot Mitt Fuggin’ Romney was somehow the worst and most dangerous candidate the Republicans could offer. In 2016, up until Election Day itself, everyone assumed that HRC was a badly flawed candidate but would win anyway. And… we saw how that worked out. Complacency is literally deadly.
I was born when Reagan was still president. I’m just old enough to remember the efforts to impeach Clinton over forcing an intern to give him a BJ in the Oval Office (This led by the same Republicans making Donald Trump into a darling of the evangelical Christian right wing.) I’m definitely old enough to remember 9/11 and how America lost its mind after that, and I remember the Bush years. And, obviously, the contrast with Obama, the swing back toward Trump, and everything that has happened since. We can’t afford to do this again. We’re hanging by a thread as it is, and not just America, but the entire planet.
So yes. By all means, vote for Sanders in the primary. Then when November 3, 2020 rolls around, if you care about literally any of this at all, hold your nose if necessary and vote straight-ticket Democrat, from the president, to the House and Senate, to the state and local offices. I cannot put it more strongly than that.

Hii, do you have any writing tips, like anything would be literally finee
hello!
hmmm tbh i'm not really the best person to ask, and to be able to answer this comprehensively you'd need to be more specific, but this is how i usually outline my stuff (using this recent drabble as an example)
the request/single-minded proposition: how can i sum up this piece in one single line? (e.g. struggling to get to bed while tipsy with jean, my new boyfriend).
thoughtstarters: what are the first things that come to mind when i think of that one request/single-minded proposition?
anything works here, it can be:
a few lines of dialogue (e.g. “you’re not gonna help me?” / “it’s just a cream, you can do it.”)
a short explanation of the overall vibe (e.g. silly tipsy jean x tired partner)
songs, pictures, & quotes are also helpful!
outline: idk if you've heard of qi cheng zhuan jie, but it's a technique i like to fall back on lol. (this article does a good job of explaining it with examples). it's basically like... intro, rising action, climax, conclusion. this isn't really applicable to my jean drabble but if i were to put it in that template:
qi (intro): the setup - they're in the bathroom, and i try to establish that jean is hella drunk and reader is tired lol
cheng (rising action): jean notices the man berries cream (lemon scented moisturiser lol) and insists reader puts it on for him
zhuan (turning point/climax): the most important/climactic part of the story. reader puts the moisturiser on jean's handsome face and though he's drunk, he looks at reader like they're the most beautiful person in the world. (clenches heart)
jie (resolution): they go to bed (finally, reader thinks) and they both finally get what they want. and to tie back to what jean said at the start (“brunch is at 11 baby, 11 a.m. we can’t miss it again."), i had eren make a special appearance
start writing!: the hardest part. but just know that you don't have to write a story in chronological order! most of the time, the rising action is the easiest to write (& is probably something you can already visualise in your head vividly). so just dump down whatever and edit everything later. i find that starting with dialogue as a skeleton helps too.
misc. advice: good grammar, a wide range of vocabulary, show not tell, and correct spelling (i hate reading things that mix american and british english lol) are just good basics to have :-) and good punctuation too, like learning how to format dialogue etc. i'm a hypocrite for saying this though because i'm sure i use all my punctuation wrongly </3
anyways this is really just the tip of the iceberg. let me know if you want me to elaborate more on any particular points :-) and lastly, this is really just how i write - i'm not saying it's the most effective system or whatever, but it kinda works for me. point is, just start writing and write a lot so you can eventually build a process for yourself! and of course, read a lot too (books, fanfiction, magazines, newspapers!!!, the back of the milk cartoon, ads, billboards, spotify descriptions, etc etc) so your mind can grow <3
@ other writers feel free to jump in and add your own tips and advice too! let's help this fren together (*^▽^*)

Omg I'm right there with ya, purity culture has me at wits end. I've been seeing upwards of 5 posts a day talking about how "problematic" a new show, etc is and it's so tiring. People are so absorbed in technology that I think it's hard for some to differentiate between entertainment and politics/social justice. Every TV show has to be politically correct and progressive. Nothing can be solely for entertainment anymore. Even creators have to publicly disclose their beliefs to be allowed to exist
Honestly, every show is problematic (yeah cliche saying, but it’s a given) and sometimes we gotta look at that, but also like...analyzing that aspect isn’t “real activism” ya know? It feels like people are doing it to “look good” for others. Whoever can pinpoint the “problem” (or make up “plausible” shit with buzzwords) first gets brownie points. And sometimes I just want to watch dumb, problematic shit and talk about how much I love it without having to preface it with “well, I know its problematic but...” like some self-flagellating heretic or have people go at me with “did you know???”.
It’s like you can’t just say “I hated this show.” There has to be a “social justice-related” reason to it. Idk if I’m making sense, but I’m talking about “Rebecca Sugar supports fascists b/c the Gems didn’t die for their war crimes” level of bullshit and that was a real, straightfaced take back in the day.
Not every show has to deal with some deep issue either. Sometimes its brainless fun or a time passer.
Also you (general you) have gotta consider the different in culture and society. A lot of the times, things don’t necessarily translate. The “LGBT+” scene is radically different in some aspects between Western and Eastern Cultures at times. A lot of what I see is that some people overlay their own experiences with Western Society to Eastern Media with no understanding of the culture or atmosphere (ex. MDZS). I’ve seen people get on shows b/c it doesn’t fit their standards of what’s acceptable/cultural nuance didn’t translate.
Like I’m sorry, but shipping, show analysis, and whinging (as fun as it is) isn’t “real activism” unless it brings about a change or helps to bring about a change. Like...yes sometimes awfulness in shows must be talked about, but you don’t gotta do it with every show. Like...I used to be that way during my “Tumblr SJW” phase (and I use that with full seriousness b/c it was comical how stereotypical I was; I’m still left leaning but I am so glad I grew out of that shit), and it felt like shit to be angry all the time over cartoons and fiction.
Like...there is things to be said (and needs to be said) about the portrayals of minorities, women, other marginalized groups, etc. but I feel like a lot of people online have oversimplified the issues to the extent where it reflects American values, shallow analysis (in relation to media, culture, and tinged with their own personal tastes), and lacks the nuance of history, world politics, cultural understanding, etc.
Outside of that word salad, it’s basically...most people don’t have the understanding or qualifications to make broad claims as they do. It tends to be based on personal opinion and the assumption that everyone else in their group sees media in the same way. Anyone who doesn’t isn’t “knowledgable” enough or has some internalized issue. The “ad hominem.”
And part of it is because the world has grown to the point where the things you consume are your identity (ie. Consumerism on steroids). Everyone’s online idenitity (and real life identity tbh) and what they like habe been commodified and meshed together so much that people now “live” online. The whole problem of “what you consume is who you are” alongside the idea that everyone has to be “transparent” about their sex, gender, beliefs, etc.
Like...the whole movement of “unless you’re part of a group, you can’t make an ‘authentic’ character of thst group” for example. Yes, be respectful and there are some boundaries in creation, but like...I’ve seen creators out themselves and potentially their trauma as well so they aren’t ridiculed.
It’s honestly frightening to me b/c it forces creators to “out” themselves or face a dogpile and the end of a career.
I went on a tangent but it’s basically...sometimes politics and media can exist seperately (for the media piece in relation to enjoyment)/you don’t gotta nitpick every single thing/show visible and performative disgust. And you don’t need a “political” reason to hate it/love it or to broadcast it every time.
Idk, this is long and rambling but it’s late and hopefully it makes a smidge of sense.
Honestly it’s worse on Twitter. I’ve seen over 20 threads per day w/ luke warm takes with 10,000s of likes...like for example, they’re bullying the voice of Zuko rn for liking Zuko/Katara and that “Zuko and Katara can’t happen b/c its imperialism and colonialism” thread. Just say you don’t like it and go...not everything has to be political (Atla is to an extent considering subject matter but like...not every reason ya know? And it’s a children’s cartoon not CNN).

Finally watching justice society world war II
Spoilers, but I'm probably the last person to watch it so
Art style is interesting
Magical artefacts - spear of destiny?
Nice run down of eveyone, pity Alan isn't here tho
Oh hi steve
Diana!! She looks fantastic gwan girl
I've seen the barry and iris scene before and it's cute. One of the better barry characterisations I've seen lately. He's not a wally/barry hybrid
Except for the green eyes?
Their relationship being secret sucks ass tho who the fuck came up with that
Why is his shirt so tight lmao
Barry's mask is ugly. Pointed chinstrap aint it
Accidental time travel! Or is it?
Wonder woman kicking ass is good, but would be better with the movie theme music. Has someone edited that yet? I hope so
The way she just plucks him up and holds him like he weighs nothing ajdksksk
I'll never get tired of slow mo flash bullet dodging scenes
Oh jay knows about the speed force
Dinah's design is really nice
Jay learning stuff from barry is...new
What's up with Barry's speed
'Cool? That's nifty'
Sudden proposal 'is this happening?'
Everyone day?? Damn boy
Two years? America weren't involved that early though right?
Steve's gonna die isn't he
'What do our scientists think' yes good I like that
Superman???
When did barry learn Clark's identity?
Ah different earth. That explains it
Did they even have the multiverse theory in the 40s?
I know the atlantians are advanced and all but it really throws off the aesthetic of the film
Oh jesus nazi aquaman took me by surprise. Even if he's being mind controlled.
Oh Barry doesn't know about the speed force yet. This is more like it, Jay being a mentor
Aw I just noticed Barry is shorter than both Jay and Diana
Oh okay so we're just protecting the US now. Fuck everyone in europe i guess
Ah, the kraken
Yeah the atlantians are really throwing off the 40s vines
Per usual, hawkman dies. I don't really care for him tbh
The black canary/hawkman thing is...unexpected? But they seem to just be friends so okay
Carter came across as much more gentle than...every other version of him I've seen
So I guess we've completely forgotten about Hitler
'Sorry, I'm an american. We don't do surrender' I can't put my finger on why, but that line? I hate it
This aquaman - wonder woman fight is similar to flashpoint
Gosh Dinah's hair is amazing
Steve introducing himself as wonder woman's boyfriend is very nice. Although it comes after his army rank
I love how Barry is just confused for like 90% of the movie but he's just trying his best to be helpful
'I'll be fine' yeah I don't think so sweetie
We really just fridged two male characters huh? That's new
Oh Steve's death kinda hurts fuck
He couldn't even put the ring on her finger before he died, fuck :(
Ah a ring for Iris!
Nazis just completely fogotten about in a world war two film
Justice league formation!!
Ugh why'd you have to add the 'american way' to it?
I do love some westallen/newsflash
Oh Matt Bomer voiced Barry? And Darren Chris was Clark? Cool

TBH I think most Americans might be surprised at how many ESL people roam around English sections of the web. We're aware of the British and Australians, but even I'm surprised at the number of people I follow who come from a non-English speaking country and yet blog almost exclusively in English.
I have no idea what ESL means, and this is what google told to me:  “ ESL, formerly known as Electronic Sports League, is an esports organizer and production company that produces video game competitions worldwide. ESL is the world's largest esports company, and the oldest that is still operational.[2] Based in Cologne, Germany, ESL has eleven offices and multiple international TV studios globally. ESL is the largest esports company to broadcast on Twitch.tv.” I had to clarify “ESL people” to finally get what you mean. Talk again about google sometimes being confusing.
Regardless, you know why that is? Why so many of us use english even if technically we don’t need to? Because it gives you activity, engagement. I had spanish blogs before and they don’t get nearly as much attention and activity as this one. There are people out there who make content exclusively on their mother tongue and do get a good following, but with english you expand your possibilities even more because I am not only reaching to American, British, etc people, but also to other ESL, a group that expand so much more than the people who will only speak spanish. Also, most of the time language for the things you like come in english. I was fucking tired of waiting for a translation and many youtube videos that looked interesting didn’t had subtitles. The movies that just came out are easier to find online in english. There is A LOT of fan content made in english that later the rest of us can wait up to days or weeks before seeing it on spanish. So why not cut the middle man and just go read it yourself? I am sure that is the reasoning for a lot of other people in fandom. And this will also be the reason why I want to learn japanese.
