When Naoto walked into the fabric and crafts store, she immediately understood how Tatsumi must have felt when he entered. Even though hopelessly out of place, she took a deep breath, steeled her nerves and began browsing. 

Not in the fabrics aisle, though.

Tatsumi lived in a textile store, and he’d know what kind of fabric would suit his projects first and foremost. The last thing she wanted to do was give him something useless. Although, anything from here was most likely useless. He must have had dozens of them at home.

In spite of her desire to bolt, Naoto remained in the store, trying to find the perfect hopefully-decent-or-okay gift. 

There were project books, but she had no idea if he had bought them all before, giving a duplicate would embarrass her. Magazines fell under the same reasoning. Needles and sewing pencils were something he could acquire on his own, and he knew his favored brands.

She wandered into the aisle containing needle minders, all sorts of designs and shapes on display. For this, she reasoned with herself, certainly fell under the it’s the thought that counts category and if it wasn’t useful, it was cute.

After much consideration, Naoto walked away with an orange tabby cat holding a heart, a hedgehog with a bandana, and a penguin with earmuffs, all neatly bundled together in a little box the cashier had given her.

At the Christmas party, she shyly handed the box over, and hoped that if he were disappointed, he’d give her the small mercy of doing it when she wasn’t around. “I thought you might find these useful in your projects. If not then, they’re... they’re cute to look at.”

Wasn't the first year Kanji'd been invited to one of these things, but it damn near felt like it. Long since had he grown used to stares, being the odd one in a group, but in a group of equally-deemed odd ones... was he really the sore thumb? Community, while treasured in such a rural place, wasn't on the foreground of his mind. Kanji was Tatsumi-san's odd boy, her ticking timebomb of a child. While not his intention, his reputation preceded him, and a lack of sales was the cost of his attitude.

Needless to say, anyone can say they're a community, but all too often he was on the outside of it.

This though, this wasn't some box Kanji'd had to tuck his knees in for. Narukami, Shirogane, Hanamura, Amagi, Kujikawa, Satonaka, Teddie... they made room for him. Gave him a corner whenever he needed it. Tugged on his cuff to draw him into a game, or asked his opinion whereas many took his quiet as his opinion. Kanji had never had a lonely Christmas, he always had his old woman beside him. Now, he and his Ma' were surrounded by lights, decorations, laughs...

It was a dumb cliche, he'd be the first to say it: he needed nothing else.

Whenever Naoto glided through the crowd, it was like she had done it before. She hadn't, not really, she preferred the shadow cast by the crowd. Moved with patience, thought, calculation. Even as she did so now, opposite as she had done before, it was with purpose - and rather than whip his head to the side, Kanji... looked, oversized Santa Claus hat dipping over the arch of his brow.

“Uh,” more aware, his eyes fixated on the gift instead, and less physically: her words, and the connection of physicality and incorporeal. “You... got me something?”

It wasn't the first Christmas they had spent together as a group, nor was it the first time they had exchanged gifts... but, surprise never faded from his mind. Kanji's never really gotten gifts, not from friends, not from classmates, and that 'deer in the headlights' look never really went away. More so: Naoto announcing that she, herself, had done so. Anonymous gifts were always under the communal tree, no from, only to. Or maybe Kanji had just missed the nametag. Or maybe it was for the best for them both, their added awkwardness creating a looming spectacle of a failure in understanding social eloquence.

Nervous fingers pry apart the fine bow up top, before flicking the lid off with a clatter.

Kanji's reaction was instantaneous: cheeks awash with color, muted hues overwhelmed by pupil.

“Holy shit, how'd you know I've been needing one of these?!” there's a technical term for it, but it slips from his mind and far, far off into a bottomless chasm. “And these are way cuter than the ones I had my eye on. Hell, I was just gonna' use an old soda can I had lying around. After, after I'd cleaned it out. Naoto, this...”

If Kanji thinks too hard on it, he can hear jeers, laughs, why are you getting all worked up over three hunks of metal?

It's more than that, though. It's her willingness to engage in a craft he once, stupidly, deemed shameful; her walking around some cramped store, in spite of the holiday crowds he knew, knew she didn't like; it's her thinking of him; it's...

“... It's not the finished product, 'n I didn't wrap it because it didn't feel like... enough,” Kanji dug around in his pocket, carefully regarding the goodie-filled box. “This'll go on the gift I'm makin' for you. I ran outta' yarn, and the holiday rush meant that we won't be getting any in stock 'till after New Year's. But... I wanna' give you this, for now.”

Holding out his palm, there stood a small gift in its center: azure shades, a crocheted interpretation, fixed with a pin at its back.

“It's supposed to go...”

Discarding the box onto the nearest surface, Kanji delicately lifted the cap from her head, situating the pin at the leftmost side; not the centerpiece. After patting it down, he took a glance at where the hat once sat. Had... he ever seen Naoto without her hat?

Before he could be too overcome by that realization, Kanji swiftly returned the cap back to its rightful owner, now fashioned with a new addition.

“I'll have to take it from you, but 'til that day comes, you... can wear it. Y-You don't have to, though.”

(1) i can imagine jimin trying to be subtle as she can possibly be, knowing how much effect she has on serim, she’s gonna use that for her advantage! picture serim and jimin casually watching tv, sat beside one another. jimin missing the warmth of serim’s hands (we all know she’s not gonna say that out loud, but let’s just ignore that), holds the older’s wrist to bring one of her hands on top of her thigh, serim’s hand slightly smacking her. jimin’s excuse? a fly. and serim will just look at the younger like 🤨 jimin would probably threaten the older to not remove her hand or else she’ll kill one of serim’s plants, and all serim can do is obey. wouldn’t even question jimin’s actions 😭 NOT AT ALL (from time to time, serim would trace circles on jimin’s thigh and all jimin could do is squirm on the inside)

(2) if ever the two would sleep again in one bed (not sexually!) i can also imagine serim’s sleeping body close to jimin, but we all know they cuddle when they sleep tgt so let’s put it like that. serim’s head trapped in the crook of jimin’s neck, her hand peacefully resting on jimin’s stomach while her arm is trapped between the mattress and jimin’s back, her other hand holding the younger’s waist tenderly. and jimin would still not find that enough 😭✋🏼 carefully, she’ll put the hand resting on her stomach close to her mouth, leaving small kisses as she looks at serim’s face, watching to see if the older would wake up cuz of her actions. and the next day she’ll be like, “why the fuck did i do that?”

(if she’s not leaving pecks on serim’s hand, she’ll probably bring it on her neck and move each fingers as if serim’s moving it on her own)

(3) we do know how their company’s kinda on abt the whole fake dating thing, so i can see them ordering the two to be more affectionate in public. serim sticking beside jimin in a party, following her like a lost puppy. and then jimin would find some other artists to talk to, of course serim’s beside her. serim, remembering the orders of the company, will put her hand on jimin’s waist, caressing it. and the younger would bring her hand on top of serim’s guiding her thru her body, leaving serim’s hand on her stomach, making serim lean closer than she already did. i can imagine jimin caressing serim’s hands even without much people around, and her excuse would probably be “company’s order.”

Let's go! Chapter 3!!! It's time to talk about it ^^

DJ and Alan relationship, few or more chapters are going to be a little bit angsty for DJ xD. There will be a lot of DJ Pov, Pre-Noogai and Post-Noogai here. Might get a little confusing too since the whole narrative is pretty Non-Linear, which I did on purpose LMAO.

Noogai is indeed chill, the talk with Victim and Chosen. He is pretty self-righteous, isn't he? He only believes what he wants to believe, refusing to listen to others. There is a major misunderstanding on Noogai's part since he initially thought Victim and the others were being enslaved by Alex, hence why in the first chapter they were thrown to the Outernet. It's that fact that them being thrown into the Outernet is not really important to Noogai's mission but he thought it was best for them to live in the Outernet than under a human.

We all know he has been using humans as his vessels for many years now, he of course knows how their brain works at this point. And this notion which is the humans being is vessel is me saying that, yes, he can control a human, and walk around in their body :D

We all know Noogai is here "not just potentially" HE IS a morally grey character, it is basically, killing a bunch of people for the better good. So, we know he won't exactly care about Victim and Chosen's mental wellbeing, he already did the "better good" and he'd done his job.

Alan did attempt, and DJ was the one to save him from it. It was mostly the start of Alan's descent to madness, anger and grief that DJ couldn't help him with, and it was sad for DJ to call himself a "bad friend" for not being able to help Alan with his mental health.

And I'm so happy you understood the part where Alan introduced DJ the cursor, DJ initially thought Alan was doing "better" until Alan presented the cursor weapon to him and there he realized, Alan was not getting better, he was turning for the worst...All this time DJ thought he had done something good for Alan, instead this happens.

DJ is officially still alive in the timeline with the Hollow 4's and CG, he is there somewhere. Will be shown in the next or so chapters actually :DD.

You know what, the line "Are we still friends" will soon make sense in a few chapters, I will not spoil, but mind you, DJ is going to turn for the worse (don't worry not the turning into a terrorist type) but he's not going to be having a good time.

ATG in AA, there's already some planned. Initially when i create Alan or DJ AU's i always make sure they can never overshine the others by accident. There are already notes that i had written about how ATG's relationship with the AA, and i believe it's more of an on and off. There are Alan AU's in the AA that will hate ATG if you think about it. So, we will see that the time ATG gets introduced into the AA household.

Noogai does care for the Alans in the AU, as said by the fun facts (I will be dropping those now at every AA AU post so that you guys can get to know them better!)

It's adorable you have favorites XDDD, and they are ranked too lol!

They can come back to their own worlds/realms/universe anytime they wanted actually :)), they aren't required to stay in the household but for the people who loves AA, they stay xP

Noogai and his DJ have a really close bond in the AI AU, though we only had a few comics (?) and one fanfiction, all Alan AU that i had made officially will have their own fanfiction in AO3 and all of them are under works as of the moment.

It is mostly to get to know them better :))

Snow really is the only Alan that cannot talk to his own DJ, and that leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. But who said KOM DJ won't appear in the AA household xD (spoilers!!).

Hey, this is the anon that had a queerplatonic crush on their and their partner's best friend and was having trouble addressing the topic. Firstly, I brought it up to my partner in a very, very long talk where I basically explained all the ways that I personally experience love as an arospec person, as well as the nuances where romantic love in our relationship comes into play. Then, I also explained a lot of what I would personally define a queerplatonic relationship as, and we discussed our boundaries and preferences too, and then I told them about it being our mutual best friend and they reacted so positively aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I later brought up the topic with our best friend by asking them how comortable they were with having multiple qpps and they were down for it, and then they talked it out with their own partner and mine, and uh-

I guess I'm still super flustered over everything and my brain kind of hurts right now because my stomach has been running inside of me everywhere!!!! So, so many emotions!!! I also kind of cried too- But yeah, I guess they're my qpp now, and I'm so happy because I love both of my partners a bunch. How on earth did I get lucky enough to meet not one but two of the most amazing humans ever and have them become such important parts of my life?? Also, my qpp's partner is also just really sweet and amazing too. The people in my life are so awesome, I am going to cry.

The Bad Batch episode 15: The Cavalry Has Arrived/Finale

I've not done reaction posts like these since the days of MTMTE (and now I feel old) but since it was the season 3 finale, I thought I could just do that.

Mostly, I'm inspired by @come-chaos who has done these throughout the whole season

Let's start with saying that I'm actually positively happy about the finale!

I mean, I would've liked certain things to be a bit different (the whole tangling of the CX clones in front of our noses but cutting them that short for example as well as have at least 4 more episodes for this season to clear things up) but no one died? Only one limb was lost?

The fact that they are still alive by the time Rebellion rolls in (minus Echo because we don't know about him 😭) was a LOT more than I was hoping for.

There is so many misunderstandings in this chapter, and it's absolutely just...sad. They had each other at arm's length but refused to reach out. DJ did reach out, but Alan wasn't sure on how to react, perhaps in his head he thought DJ was about to punch the living lights out of him and Alan was waiting for that.

Alan was definitely waiting for DJ to burst into anger, that's why he's incredibly quiet, he was waiting for DJ to be angry at him, to hurt him.

Victim most likely would not know right away what Noogai and DJ's deal with each other was, but he might have some theories or some suspicion about them knowing each other or perhaps more than that. As for Satin, Satin is already making a move towards DJ. And her unnerving way of trying to touch DJ, is just utterly disgusting. But she knew she already had him hooked with the promise of revival, the temptation of trying to get who you love back into the land of the living.

And as for the sun and moon, it was utterly just heartbreaking hearing the legend of the Sun and Moon where both of them we're actually siblings and not lovers as some says. And they forever chase each other in the sky.

While the original take on it was, they chase each other for fun, DJ found it sad because forever chasing someone you love is painful for him, that's why he felt incredibly just sad about the story while Alan isn't so interested in it.

Yes, Alan's family was killed by racism, since Alan's wife and his kids are not the same kind as Alan, they were shunned, especially Alan for marrying a different stick than his kind. Because in their time, it is important to note that you can only marry your own kind. (It is almost the same with some religion that they can only marry the person with the same religion)

DJ really does have a pretty fucked up thoughts, and I really can't say anymore to that. The whole fanfic is a pretty heavy baggage for having a summary that is so silly.

DJ has always liked to imagine how Alan would react if he were to die, and he loves doing that to pass time. And I don't know if I should laugh at that or cry.

The quote really does remind me of ATG Alan and DJ, they are honestly sick. That even if I saw doodles of them looking happy, it just makes me sad because that isn't the same thing I'm seeing right now XD - S
