Critique is tomorrow but I got this thing done at like, 3AM today and everything's all dry now and I'm so happy to finally be making this post so I'm putting it up earlier than I normally do 😭😭

Assignment details below but warning, it's like an adventure log cause holy crap I have so much to say about this

The assignment was to make a structure that:

Had a mechanical function (minimum two)

Included at least one found object (i.e., something that was not provided by the instructor)

Included at least one carved element

...so there was a lot going on for this. I've never carved before, hence why I panick made those ducks a few weeks ago. They were a failsafe, juuuust in case I couldn't figure out the whole "carve a bird" thing in time. Luckily they weren't needed, though if I wasn't in such a hurry I might not have gotten this weird looking cut on my finger that likely won't fully heal :') (battle scars, so it's okay)

They really did take a long time to carve though. For frame of reference, it took about:

~6 hours of listening to people play Phasmophobia for ducky #1

Another 5-6 of listening to Majora's Mask gameplay for ducky #2

About 3-4 hours of various My House videos for the smallest ducky #3 (thanks again for the recommendation 🙏 I was running out of things to fill the silence to)

I'm glad I started them as early as I could, especially with the breaks needed to let my fingers heal because I'm bad w/ knives.

I speed learned how use a sewing machine (thanks mom for letting me borrow it); I didn't have to make the outfits but they're cute so I don't regret it lol. I put elastic or snaps on all of them so they're all removable... maybe I'll make more outfits for them in the future?

I counted my found object as some plexiglass I picked up somewhere, and it turns out, it's not really hard to cut it. Apparently it's not hard to cut real glass either but I wasn't allowed to use it 'cause it's easier to break. I kinda like the window, I wasn't sure about how it'd look at first but I really think it makes it look more polished :D

The red handle was a last minute addition. I quite literally used a spare piece of wood at 1AM this morning and speed carved+painted it. Since it didn't have any major grooves like the ducks, I could saw it down close to the size it needed to be and then carve/sand off the edges to round it off, so I got it done in about an hour and a half. I'm glad I did because I accidently painted the frame a little took dark and needed something to help tie it in a little better. It's still dark, but it sticks out slightly less now??? I hope haha.

I had a lot less trouble using the power tools on campus this time around. That's not saying much because I never really had much trouble in the first place but still, they're nowhere nearly as intimidating as they look.

All in all it was a lot of fun, and I can't wait 'til it's graded cause I'm really excited to bring it home for good :D

okay, so i've mentioned before how boba isn't above using wordplay/intentionally ambiguous wording/verbal loopholes to get out of rules or agreements he doesn't like while maintaining a front of ~*being true to his word*~. i believe the phrase i used was, "like some fucked up fae creature."

HOWEVER, after a review of additional expanded universe materials, i have come to the delighted realization that he has truly been doing this shit non-stop since he was a child. it's literally like,

"dad says i'm supposed to feed these feeder mice to this eel while he's gone, but TECHNICALLY, the words he used were, 'we'll be back when these are gone,' which doesn't necessarily mean dead. ALSO he's said that "patterns are traps," and killing a mouse each day would be a pattern, so if i let some of them go instead, then TECHNICALLY, i'm just following his advice :)" and "dad said i need to be in this apartment when he gets back, which TECHNICALLY means he said i could sneak out as long as i'm fast enough to get back before he does :)"

which leads to

"jabba said he wants me to destroy every last member of this smuggling ring despite the fact that the majority of them are enslaved children but i only promised to 'deal with' them, so if i kill their master and send them away, i've still technically destroyed the entire gang and 'dealt with' the members :)"

which leads to

"the hutts are only paying me to kill this dude and deliver them a grisly video of his death, but they didn't say i couldn't do a bunch of extra stuff like torch his merchandise afterwards, just that i wouldn't be paid for it :)"

"it would technically be a breach of code for me to kill these guys unrelated to an active bounty, even though i really want to and it would be necessary to save the life of a third party, but oh would you look at that, said third party happened to find three credits in his pocket, and as long as i verbally agree to said fee, this is now an ongoing bounty, and i can kill with impunity :D"

"based on your promise, i hereby verbally agree to backstab my entire galaxy and help deliver it to the yuuzhan vong for purging and enslavement (but since i know your promise is a lie, my promise "based on" it is also a lie and i'm actually going to secretly go behind your back and do the opposite :)"

basically, if you're gonna hire boba fett for something specific, you better have outlined at MINIMUM a 12-page document outlining exactly what he can and cannot do, or he WILL just fuck off and do whatever the hell he wants

This is based on sw 5 :) in that movie we're shown that Han and Lando were at the very least good friends and are now giving off major exes vibes. So this is them younger, after a long night at the casino, eating a kebab ! And Chewie is here because Han without Chewie just feels wrong (and I love them)

It's finaly finished ! Lando is now part of my sw sapphic au <3

For their design I went for a 70s inspired outfit, while keeping the cape because let's be real is it still them if I don't keep it. I also kept the mustache thanks to this ask ! They made me see the light of enby Lando :) I'll eventually make sketches to show the full outfit, and do some others because I really want to draw them in an outfit inspired by what they wear after joining the rebellion for a more masc look :3c

And for the colors I chose them based on the younger Lando's outfit because one of the only things I like about disney's star wars, is their young Lando design ! The bright yellow and blue, the tie, the hair- I think it works really well as both a younger, and "modernized" design ! Only thing I found a bit desapointing is that it's too safe- you really want me to believe Lando Calrissian is the type of man to wear the same-ish shirt, pants and cape for 10+ years ? (But that's a default all of disney's sw have, playing it safe to make as few original choices as possible, desperately reminding you of what came before to try to make you forget what you are whatching is mediocre. A constant flow of garbage that's not even brave enough to be bad, just mediocre- But the less I think or talk about disney the better gkgklgkf)

I was supposed to work on another of their requests, but somehow my fingers worked on their own to create an AfterDeath comic! XDD Basically I read 'wing grooming' and went ballistic. I figure it's fine because I really like the end result!

Everyone's comm beeps in their ear, drawing their attention. "Kon, Jon, Cassie, and Bart all know now. I'm bribing them with the footage of Phase One." Tim's voice says. Their comms beep again and the line goes silent.

Dick sighs. Yeah, that checks. Honestly, he's surprised those four hadn't been told way earlier than now.

"What's wrong?" Wally asks from beside him.

"Nothing," ha answers. He finishes the drink in his hand in one go.

Wally snorts softly. "Yeah, sure. I assume someone's blown it?"

"Tim and Dami. Both Superboy's, Wonder Girl, and Impulse all know now."

"Our Wonder Girl?"

"Tim's.

"Ah." A beat. "The problem?"

"No problem. Though, B might say something."

"I thought he was all for telling the teams?"

"He is! This was all his idea! But Tim's bribing the other four with the footage of the Cave."

"You mean the footage that I haven't seen yet?"

"Yep."

"Then what are we waiting for?" Wally grabs his hand, "Let's go get Donna and go watch!"

Dick sighs again and goes along. He clicks his own comm on and says, "Me, Wally, and Donna are gonna come watch, too. Wally insists."

Damian's voice comes next. "Since when does Troy know?"

"Probably since I told her and Wally."

"What?" Steph's voice whines, "You've had two people know for so long?"

Before he can respond, Barbra hisses, "Hey! This is supposed to be a distraction free line, guys."

Jason snorts, "Me, Roy, Lian, and Duke are on our way, too. You girls should come watch; we'll make a party out of it."

"Good idea," Cass says.

Dick can see Bruce on the other side of the room, unable to react to a thing that's being said in his ear. Ha!

Bruce watched his kids all leave the room. He's glad that their teams know, though why did they have to let it slip while the party was still going on? Oh, well, nothing to do about it now. Especially because Oliver's agreed to give a speech.

"Ollie, dear, it's time for your speech now, isn't it?"

"Ah, yes." Oliver says, light pink dusting his cheeks at the address Bruce had been using since they were in high school. He made his way to the stage, the band quieting as he took the podium. "If I may have everyone's attention for just a moment?"

Great start, Ollie.

"Like all of you, the invitation to this gala tonight came as a surprise. A welcome one, but a surprise nonetheless. Now, I won't keep your attention for long, but, on behalf of Bruce, I'd like to thank everyone for coming tonight. This Gala tonight, Charity for Justice, is a fantastic way for us to give back to the people who work so hard to save us. And it's not just the Justice League; Doctors, Teachers, Veterans, et cetera. They're all heroes who deserve all the help we can give them. Being here tonight, while it may seem superficial, is a step in the right direction to helping the heroes of the world. Now, I don't know how Bruce is going to get this money to the Justice League, but I'm not one to questions his ways or his motivations. He's been a friend of mine since we were in high school, and I trust him with my life. Thank you, Bruce, for hosting tonight; And thank you all for coming and donating." Nodding to the audience, Oliver walked from the stage as they clapped.

Bruce smiled at Oliver as they met at the bottom of the stairs leading to the stage. "Thanks, Ollie. I didn't know you trusted me so much."

Oliver matched his smile. "'Course I do, Brucie! And what you're doing tonight is really good. I might just have to steal this idea from you."

Laughing, Bruce patted Oliver's shoulder before taking his place on the stage. "Thanks, Oliver, for speaking tonight. I know it was last minute, but you did great." The crowd chuckled a bit as Oliver raised the glass he now held. "At the risk of sounding like a broken record, thanks again, everyone, for coming here tonight. I know a lot of you are far from home, but it means a lot that you made the trip out.

"Admittedly, this entire gala was a spur of the moment decision. My kids, actually, came up with the idea, so if you're going to thank anyone, it should be them. They did everything on their own while sat back and let them do their thing.

"When you think of heroes, you're most likely to think of the Justice League and their sidekicks. But, who were the heroes before the Justice League was founded? Perseus, Heracles, Aeneas, Remus, Romulus, Vldar, Ragnar Lodbrok, Hua Mulan, Guan Yu. All of them were warriors. But, does combat make a hero? I don't think so. I think the thing that makes a hero is the willingness to help; the willingness to give even if you have nothing to give; the willingness to do what it takes to make sure someone gets to live even just a little bit longer.

"Oxford dictionary defines the word 'hero' as "a person who is admired or idealized for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities". While I agree, I think that this is a much too niche definition. After all, I've met hundreds of people who I would consider heroes, heard thousands more stories- and not one of them has been 'admired' or 'idealised' for it.

"Tonight, I've asked for donations from each of you. All of the money will be going towards helping the heroes of the world; those who are recognised as such, those who aren't, and everyone in between. Every donation made will be matched by not only myself, but Wayne Industries as well. Then, all the money will be anonymously give to the heroes of every city represented here.

"Again, I'm so glad everyone could make it tonight, and I'm beyond glad that you've all be generous enough to help our heroes. Please enjoy the rest of your evening." The applause was loud as he walked off stage, the music picking up softly before crescendoing as the crowd began talking again.

The comm in his ear clicked just before Barbra started speaking. "That was a good speech, B. Brought some of us to tears."

He picked up a drink and sipped it as he spoke into his own comm piece. "You're watching the cameras?"

"Naturally," Damian said.

"We're all too comfortable to move," Tim explained, "So Bab's pulled the cameras up on the TV just as Oliver finished speaking."

"I've never heard Batman talk so much..." That was Bart Allen, clearly close enough to hear him over Tim's line, but not close enough to be intentional.

"Hell," Donna was probably sprawled across Dick and Wally, "I've never seen him express emotion and I knew who he was!"

Bruce hid a laugh and a smirk behind his drink. "Watch it, now."

There were a few squeaks as the comms all clicked off, Barbra taking care of his as well.

The ballroom was emptying, slower than he would like, but faster than expected. The kids (because that's what they are, no matter how old they may be) all trickled back into the ballroom, waving goodbye and joining their families as they went, though his own kept themselves near the door to say goodbye to everyone leaving. He decided to join them.

Just as Oliver, Dinah, Roy, and Lian were leaving, he stopped his old friend and pulled him aside.

Oliver's guard was still down, relaxed even as Bruce pulled him into a completely empty room and shut the door. He heard the click of a comm turning on, though no one spoke, so he could only assume it was his own.

"I was just about to head home; What's up, Bruce?"

"Oliver, there's something I need to tell you." This was gonna be so funny.

"Bruce?"

When had first started out, he knew that having the same voice in and out of costume would be a potentially detrimental mistake, so he'd dropped his voice as low as he dared and added the grit to it. Eventually, he'd gotten a voice changer, but he'd kept up the training to make sure he didn't damage his voice in case the voice changer ever broke.

Taking a deep breath, Bruce turned around and dropped his voice. "I'm Batman."

Thunder rolled in the dark distance outside, and you closed your romance book, taking off your reading glasses as you sighed. Your Friday hadn't gone like you wanted it too, and you were down, even more so since your boyfriend still hadn't returned from work yet.

You glanced down at your phone, time flashing before your eyes as you sighed worriedly. It was almost 9 pm, and he still hadn't arrived home yet. You wanted to call him, but you didn't want him to think that you were too clingy, as you've already called him twice before this time to make sure he was okay.

Deciding against it, you took a sip of your now chilling coffee, eyes saddened as you looked at your wilting plants. Even the plants were feeling the sad weight in the room.

A knock at the door shocked you out of your stupor, and you got up, slipping on your jacket as you shuffled to the door. Your cold feet hit the wooden floor as you walked, and the white door in front of you was cold to the touch as you placed your hand on the handle and opened it.

Seokmin⎯your sweet boyfriend Seokmin⎯stood on the other side, hair wet and sticking to his head as he smiled at you sweetly. His eyelashes clung together from the rain, and made his big brown eyes sparkle with the porch light as he grinned wider, showing teeth.

He wore a white dress shirt (one of your favorite shirts on him), and had it unbuttoned some, revealing his bare chest. The sleeves were usually billowy, but now clung to his muscled arms as he held a bouquet of roses in his left hand.

You stood surprised, cheeks warming up at his appearance and actions as he smiled, holding the roses out to you. "They're for you." He smiled nervously, and you couldn't help but tear up, taking them as you stepped on the porch with him.

The rain continued to pour, and you let yourself become one with the rain, cold drops of water showering you in seconds as you became as wet as Seokmin was. He used his hands to slide your now soaked jacket off of you as he threw it inside the still-open door, stepping closer as he took your cheeks into his hands.

"Seokmin, I⎯oh my god, wow." You sighed breathlessly, tears running freely now, and Seokmin chuckled at your words, hushing you as he kissed your tears away. The rain fell so fast, you didn't know if he was kissing tears away, or kissing the rain.

"I hope you like them, sweetpea. I⎯I did my best to get some big roses, but the lady had a hard time wrapping them nicely, so I had to wait. They may be a little wet, since I got caught in the rain, but I⎯"

"Seokmin, you know I love it. I love anything you get me." You smile, and Seokmin's eyes light up, softening as he looks at you. He falls silent, slim fingertips scraping your jawline softly as he backs you inside the house yet again, shutting the door behind him as the two of you made your way to the couch of your living room.

Both of you were soaked, but neither of you cared anymore at this point in time⎯your other half was in front of you, ready for you. Ready to kiss all of your thoughts away.

Seokmin started you off, hands sliding to your hips as he pulled you into his lap. Your hands flew to his shoulders, palms pressing against them as the smell of rain lingered on his tanned skin. The two of you held each other's gaze, and you leaned in, lips brushing Seokmin's as he sighed under you in contentment.

You kissed and kissed and kissed, intent on making sure he knew how much you adored him. The kisses went everywhere, from his warm cheeks, to the tip of his nose, to the top of his rosy lips, to his collarbone, to his bare shoulders, and even to the beginning of his chest, and he replied with small gasps and miniature I love you's as he smiled once you pulled away.

He was breathless under you, smothered with so much love and kisses he was in la-la-land for a second. Seokmin's eyes were unfocused, yet you knew he was in-tune to your heart, and that made you even softer for him as you brushed the wet strands of hair from his forehead.

"I was having the worst day, you know." You teased, head on Seokmin's chest as you listened to his racing heart. His arms were wrapped around your wet body as you sat still in his lap, the warmness of him rubbing off on you.

"I knew you were. I heard your voice when we were calling each other earlier⎯you sounded so sad, sweet girl." Seokmin's voice became softer as he did his signature pout, causing you to blush into his wet shirt at the nickname.

"And these flowers made it better. You made it so much better, Min. Thank you." As you sat up, tears filled your eyes again, and Seokmin hushed you, giving you the sweetest smile you think you've ever seen as he rubbed your back calmly.

"Anything for you, sweet girl. Anything at all." Seokmin pressed a kiss to your wet forehead, and you couldn't help but melt again, falling back down to his chest as you sighed, happy with your position in your boyfriend's arms.

Even if your body was wet and cold, your heart wasn't.
