Drabble Roulette: Night Fall

Hey hey! This weekend I'm doing more drabble roulette. I'm still recovering and I'm feel a bit blah and foggy.

I randomised a list of characters, then I spin a wheel and white for the character beside the number. Then I spin the wheel to choose a prompt from a list.

Character: August Walker

Warnings: this drabble includes violence and allusions to abuse. Please mind these warnings and take care.

Prompt: Beating up your friends for trying to "take you away" from him. (source)

The pads of your feet ache. Your hands are dry and raw as you wring them endlessly. You’re dizzy for more than the circles you walk in. 

You’re waiting. 

This calm will not last. The storm will break. You stop before the window and stare out at the sheen of moonlight that glazes the landscape. The garden Jolie tends in the early morning, her children’s bikes leaning against the shed, a plastic slide and kiddie pool. 

Your feet start again. It won’t last. It never does. There’s only one thing that’s constant. 

“Hon,” Jolie’s voice wafts from the staircase. 

You don’t answer. She’s not talking to you. It must by her daughter having another nightmare. 

A shadow comes down the stairs. Jolie steps into the slats of silver light beaming in from the screen door. You stop and stare at her. She sighs. 

“I thought I heard something. You should get some sleep.” She speaks to you like one of the children. 

“I can’t,” you go back to pacing, rubbing that raw spot on your cheek. 

“Honey,” she comes up to stop you. “You’re safe here.” 

You’re not. You keep telling her and she keeps ignoring you. She takes you gently by your shoulders and makes you face her. She draws your hand away from your cheek. 

“I have some cream. You should put it on that blemish. Looks like it hurts.” 

“I’m fine. I’m fine. I’m fine.” You flinch and stop yourself from the mindless chant. How many times did you assure yourself of the same through gagging tears. 

“I know, honey. I know.” 

He slips her hand down to yours and takes you gently behind the kitchen island. She sits you on one of the tall seats along it. You wince at the weight on your pelvis. That’s another reason you fled the guest bed. 

She flicks on the overhead light. You shade your eyes. She squeezes your hand before she turns away. You stay as you are. You don’t want to upset her. You hate when people are angry. When he is. 

She returns with a pot of cream. She unscrews the cap. She looks at you hesitantly as she raises the cotton pad to your cheek. Her eyes wander down to the other patches around your neck, peeking out above the night shirt she lent you. 

“Do you remember,” her voice is solemn, “in college. We used those charcoal masks... and it took my eyebrow clean off?” 

She laughs softly, almost shyly, as if she’s scared too. Your throat clicks. You can’t remember the last time you laughed but it’s funny to think about that. It’s so far away it feels like it never happened. 

“Yeah, it still doesn’t look right,” you say. 

She makes a face as she gently applies the cool cream. 

“We’ll find something nicer for this,” she says. “Maybe some aloe.” 

You let her tend to you, flinching despite her softness. You feel her hesitation as you do. You can’t help but tense at her touch. You’re not used to one so delicate. 

“Jo,” Marc’s voice precedes him down the stairs. His deeper cadence makes you freeze. “Everything okay?” 

“All good,” she calls back. “Kids are sleeping. We’re just chatting.” 

He comes into view. He looks at you and crosses his arms. You know he’s not happy about this. You’re invading his house. You’re Jolie’s friend, not her responsibility. 

“Right, well... it’s late. Kids got school tomorrow.” 

“Oh, I know, hon,” Jolie crumples up the pad and throws it in the bin. “I’ll get them where they need to go.” 

He clucks. “Just want to make sure. I have a big meeting--” 

There’s a sudden hammering. Splintering like thunder. You jump from the chair and scurry into the corner of the counter. It’s him! You told them. 

Marc’s face lines and Jolie stands straight. They stare at each other. 

“Tell him to go away,” Jolie hisses. 

“Fucking Christ,” Marc turns and strides down the hall to the entry way. You hear the subtle click of the door cam. “Go before I call the cops.” 

“She’s in there!” August hollers through. “I’m not fucking stupid.” 

“I’m giving you a warning, man. No one wants to deal with police right now--” 

“Give her to me!” 

“Keep it down. The kids are sleep--” 

The crack of wood makes you scream. You nestle into the bend of the counter as Jolie rushes toward the front door. The home alarm starts to chime. Footsteps clamour on the floor beyond your sight. 

You cower and sink down, whimpering, shielding your head. You look up from beneath your arms as you hear the grunts and the pleas in the struggle. Something thumps and Jolie squeals. The children upstairs call for their mom as she runs back into the kitchen. She’s flung into the counter and sprawls onto the tile not far from you. 

You heave with sobs as his footfalls march around the island and step over Jolie’s unmoving body. He doesn’t say a word as he scoops you up. You don’t either. He carries you out amid the wails of the children clinging to the slats of the railing like a prison cell. 

“Time to go home,” he snarls.

Blue lock 301 leaks

I saw the leaks… Nagi looks so dead… This hurts way more than 300 tbh the way Nagi was constantly wondering if Choki changed while he was gone (and he was always so happy and accepting of it too), the way he was always so excited when he noticed himself changing, all that wonder just to be thrown back in his face that both of them didn’t change at all… this hurts man.

Choki really is used as a metaphor for Nagi, there's a really cute moe point about that I really like lol, and how Nagi's the only one who has this. I love how he gently set Choki down by his bed with the implication he went to collect it from Baaya? It feels sadder somehow, him collecting his pet cactus and going home alone… Hope to see this expanded in epinagi (in like 5 years…).

And again, knsr is STILL gatekeeping Nagi’s tears from us… Look, I wouldn’t be clamouring for it this much if it wasn’t teased during the Naruhaya scene!! Don’t tell me we’ll only be seeing it in epinagi?? Then what about his backstory??? knsr is just so MEAN. I just know he’s taking joy writing this whole Nagi dying arc and drawing it out.

It won’t end until Nagi hits utter despair though, because no matter how dead he looks it just doesn’t feel like his lowest point yet which means… maybe Nagi tears next chap?? 😭 I really think it’s been set up that his utter despair means tears AND KNSR JUST KEEPS DRAWING IT OUT. I know it’s cause Nagi’s the sorta character where it’ll take longer for emotions and the reality of the situation to set in, and considering this would be his first time experiencing such a set back too it makes sense. I really do like the care knsr is putting to writing his character, reactions and story.

302’s titled “もういい” (That’s enough/I’m done) and idk, it just sounds so depressing and defeated and also so Nagi-ish? His entire narrative is set up to find his inner fire so obviously his story isn't ending here. Plus I love how he's the only eliminated players with such a huge focus lol (except kngm at that time).

Like even with the new covers omg, for both epinagi and bllk, both feature Nagi! knsr sure can't bear to let him go/let us forget him the way he keeps inserting Nagi everywhere, love that as a Nagi stan. You've no idea how happy I was to see him featured alone (with death) on volume 7. 7 is reserved for Nagi and him alone!!

And the Buratsuta cover too with the Nagi coin was honestly so funny. I swear rong fans all share the same brain cell lol, all of us were just thinking of Nagi falling victim to the dirty ways of the capitalist, fat, old, rich swine (plus Ray dark??) and Reo having a financial battle with him (plus some NTR 😭).

Speaking of Reo, I thought it was hot how stoic and angsty he is this chap in his suit and all (Are they in their Egoist exhibition suits?)... Truly future CEO material. Its especially hot because of the contrast with his emotionally wrecked self last chap lol. I wonder what's he thinking and cooking up. Any diabolical mastermind plans?? 👀

I also love how we're continuing with the Isanagi moments and parallels. Him and Reo are really the only ones moping about Nagi. When it comes to Nagi's story, it'll always be the 2 of them be it if the shippers like it or not. Isagi regretted he could only say "don't quit soccer" but I actually thought that was really meaningful and I found the Isanagi scene in 300 way more impactful than even the Reonagi ones which were the bulk of the chap. I actually had a lot of thoughts for last chap to the point I couldn't get everything out but basically I just really really like the Isanagi scene lol. I'm just glad we still have Isagi thinking of Nagi this chap, really cements their bond and the importance of Nagi's role in the series.

And about their parallel, as I've said over and over... Their trajectories are meant to be opposite of the other and this chapter further hammers that in with Isagi reaching the peak of his soccer career and gaining recognition, full ego shining in his eyes and all but Nagi?? All dead and alone at home.

It hits especially hard cuz it was NAGI who really wanted recognition what with his whole "hello japan i'm nagi seishiro" and "wait for me, world", he’s all about trying to feel that heat, that spotlight, wanting to shine the brightest (I’m still thinking this is part of Nagi's ego) but all of these again, got STOLEN by Isagi 😭😭😭😭 It's just so sad and honestly if this was any other character besides Nagi I would be wondering how wounded is their pride but I feel like for Nagi's character, issues like "pride" isn't a focus.

Anyway... I wonder if this'll be a way to fire him up seeing Isagi stealing all these from him. Isagi really be stealing from everyone lol, like how he stole Nagi from Reo (kinda parallel how Reonagi views "treasure" differently but I digress). I've honestly no idea what's gonna happen with Nagi's rebirth except that giant hint on Buratsuta's cover... I thought he would be gone from the series for a bit but at the rate things are going, will he even be gone? LOL. knsr really can't let go of him man, I love that.

I wanted Nagi's rebirth to wait a bit before happening but if we're diving into BL tropes of nasty old men and falling victim to capitalism and perhaps exploring the darker sides of the sports world... I'm kinda all for it 🤡

Heyo it's me, back at it again with another project.

Okay but in all seriousness, this has probably been the wildest one I've been on, but in a good + learning experience way.

I haven't felt very much into my original characters for a long time now, ( PacAU doesn't count it's more of a fan-work I'm obsessed with lol.) which I know kinda sucks to hear since some do like my other original stories + concepts but ngl the previous ones just didn't *CLICK* for me. Felt like I was more-so doing them for portfolio reasons rather then actually digging the "story/characters" Ya'know? Not to say I don't like em or will never return to them, but It just didn't feel like I was into it If that makes any sense.

I was in a slight funk during Febuarry + March and thought randomly one day about Bloto. My old persona Bloto ( who isn't my persona anymore and hasn't been for awhile btw ) was always kinda a blank slate of a character so I was like: " What if I made them have a human form to blend in with ppl. " so concept art started then boom lore and a story for it too SOOO now we are here. I also managed to slip in my crack-ship here somehow so bonus points.

I've kinda gotten hyper-fixated on this one as of late. Feels weird to say but I haven't felt this STRONG BOND ever since I created PacAU LOL. I have a sunshine son and night daughter now.

SO ANYWAYS, I recommend following my bluesky + main twitter for updates revolving around these guys but I will TRY to post more oc stuff here. DO NOT quote me on that though.

BASIC INFO TO KNOW FOR NOW:

Beatrix / Bloto: Beatrix is Bloto's human disguise they turn into in order to blend with mortals ever since they were banished from Montero ( The Daimon relam ) to the earthly-mortal one; Purgatorio, mostly referred to as Atorio. They were kicked out due to attempted murder of a friend who had betrayed them. . . Now they are stuck on Atorio with cuffs that can't come off as punishment, but it allows them to turn into a human while working as a art teacher and protector at a church+academy.

Dante: A close friend to Beatrix/Bloto who is into the paranormal and the supernatural while trying to solve his family curse. . . Maybe the mysterious but heroic Daimon in town can help him? He does not know Bloto IS Beatrix in the earlier parts of the story.

Jewels / Jezebel : A happy go-lucky Daimon who was banished for not performing their daily qouta, so she would be shunned to the human realm. Even so, she has never thrived better than before as fashion designer on Atorio referring to herself as Jewels. She and Beatrix/Bloto at first don't see eye to eye as polar opposites, but eventually become good friends. Especially after learning the two are both Daimons.

Father/Headmaster Donovan : One of the earliest Daimons exiled for unknown reasons and the man who found Bloto/Beatrix after their banishment. . . To not give attention, he raises them as his own as an act but clearly shows deep care for them. Runs a pretty normal church/academy.

Other character info will come out later as I'm drawing more stuff but that's basic info you have for now lolz.

Gerry+Jon+Sasha from an AU I've been dreaming up :)

aka from a fanfic I'm going to write probably as soon as I finish my current longfic haha. Gerry lives ofc, and life is good and everyone is friends and happy <3 (except for for Elias lmao) (also yes this is an exaggeration because there has to be SOME plot, but highkey it is going to mostly just be focused on developing friendships and that's it :) (Gerry and Jon are roommates. btw (I love them)))

Sasha isn't going to be a particularly prominent character compared to the other archival assistants, I just felt like drawing a third person and she was the first to come to mind!! (I've been wanting to draw her again for so long haha, I love her too <3)

Donald Duck and his family with their Star Wars friends - Tribute to Star Wars - May the Fourth be with you - May the Force be with you. - Cosplay and crossover - My style - Duck comics and Darkwing Duck - Duckverse

May the Fourth be with you! Or happy Star Wars Day which is celebrated on May 4th every year. Although I'm late, I certainly didn't neglect this, and I love these franchises especially the first six parts of the Star Wars films, so I drew my favorite characters in Star Wars roles using a combination of the films, as well as the comics. Although Star Wars was first shown on May 25th, 1977 by George Lucas who invented it, so it makes more sense to me that it's Star Wars Day instead of May 4th, but that's how it turned out. I also have some ideas for Mickey Mouse and his Mouseverse related to Star Wars, but since I focus more on ducks, I still drew something related to Donald Duck and his Duckverse in Star Wars roles. I found the idea for this in European comics and a series called "The Force of Three" in which Donald's nephews go to the Star Wars universe and fight the forces of evil with laser swords. They are like Jedi padawans. They are helped by Master Yoda as a duck who is their teacher. Of course, there is also their uncle Donald who often gets hurt, but he is also with his nephews. Otherwise, these issues came out from 2014 to 2015 and were written mainly by writer Gorm Transgaard, and drawn by Miguel Fernández Martinez, Francisco Rodriguez Peinado and Fernando Güell. I was inspired to draw Donald's nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie Duck as little Jedi padawans, and I also drew Master Yoda the duck and the droid R2-D2. In addition to them, I added Gosalyn Mallard from Darkwing Duck (Drake's daughter) who is also a Jedi padawan because she also likes scifi things and helps Donald's nephews in the fight against the forces of evil. There is also Donald Duck as Luke Skywalker, Daisy Duck as his wife (although it is questionable whether Luke ever had a wife and children except in some comics and a few books), Della Duck as Princess Leia (Donald's sister), Drake Mallard from Darkwing Duck as Han Solo (I don't ship Drake and Della together, but Drake as Han Solo is a good combination considering their shared personalities), Gyro Gearloose as C-3PO (the golden robot) and Little Helper as the droid R2-D2. I mostly used the classic style from the comics and the original Darkwing Duck, but in my own way. I wanted to add more characters, but I'll do that next time. I definitely plan on drawing and bringing my Star Wars ideas to the Duckverse.

I evaluated the drawings in terms of details that “were not placed or were not in the right place”, and seriously, that's COMPLETELY okay, this is a Dtiys and everyone has their own style and way of drawing! Whether you put it in the right place or not, it doesn't matter, I loved them all, it was only when I evaluated that I chose to be like this, but don't worry, I loved all the drawings, fr!!!

Also- I didn't evaluate them for reasons of intimacy and background because then it would be a bit “boring(?)” for me, because it's not like I have an affinity with the person or that their background got so beautiful that the other one who made the most accurate drawing will be in last place or something, you know?

But anyway, don't be sad! Know that all your efforts were not in vain, and who knows, maybe I can bring you guys a little surprise.....?👀

So yeah, thank you ALL very much again for participating, the drawings were beautiful and I was SO glad that you guys took a “little (or a lot)” of your time to do this redesign!!
