yes i'm rooting for m*leven breakup because byler is neat but mostly? i'm rooting for m*leven breakup for the sake of el and mike.
to me, their romance was always a puppy love born out of a combination of social pressures, naïve curiosity, and a lack of true understanding regarding intimacy and romantic love and what it really is. it was real in that they do truly, deeply care about each other and they are close friends, maybe even shared an attraction, but a maturing romance is so much more than that. they've grown up and out of being boyfriend/girlfriend, and that's okay! i think television/film needs to show more often that most of us don't have definite "soulmates" or first childhood loves that we spend our whole lives with. it doesn't mean these relationships meant nothing and didn't impact us, it just means they've run their course and that something else is in the cards, and this is part of life!
i've always felt el was at her best and most confident self when broken up with mike, discovering who she was and what she liked alongside another girl her age instead of just relying on mike for mentorship on how to live in the real world. she deserves more of an opportunity to find herself, her autonomy, and her independence, and to love who she is, and she's made it clear she's felt insecure in the relationship with mike because she isn't being loved and understood the way she wants, needs, and deserves from someone who is her partner.
also, it's okay if mike doesn't love her in "the way he should". he is not obligated to love her romantically and stay in a relationship with her just because she's a girl, because she "needed someone", or because he cares about her a lot. he shouldn't be pressured into a romance if it's not truly coming from his heart. he deserves freedom to find out and honour who he is, too, instead of just staying in his non-functional first relationship — one he got into as a child, essentially — and defining himself that way because it's what's expected when a boy and a girl are close. he loves her in some way, yes, but it's okay if he doesn't feel comfortable or secure being her boyfriend anymore, for whatever reason that is. he's felt insecure too, and that's valid and it matters.
they are their own people and are steadily growing and changing every day. they need time to figure out who those people are, and it's become clear (at least in my opinion) that those people aren't meant to be a couple at this stage.
they deserve freedom. they deserve to grow up and be authentic to themselves and not feel like they need to lie for the sake of a relationship. they deserve to move on from this version of their relationship that isn't making them happy and rekindle the best part of their bond: their strong, beautiful friendship. they don't have to be a couple if it doesn't make them stronger and better and happier people.
i think it would be healthy and wonderful for a show, especially one consumed frequently by young adults, to show a relationship starting, progressing, and ending on good terms in this way. sometimes things don't work out, and that is okay.

Ketheric was going to be recruitable???
Yep. He was intended to be a companion, here's the article: https://www.ign.com/articles/baldurs-gate-3-director-reveals-one-surprising-villain-that-used-to-be-playable
Ngl I'm just beyond disappointed that anyone in that dev team thought cutting this was a good idea. Especially when we know they went out of their way to add in a someone who wasn't put in this game as a companion and wasn't intended to be one initially, while Ketheric was, even more so because of how half baked it was. I'm baffled and gutted that this was worth keeping to them, while Ketheric, who is far more plot significant, was not.
You can still play up to getting to persuade him which was where he was meant to join you and idk why the fuck they left that in then.
I honestly wish they would stop fucking talking about what they cut now that they've abandoned the game.

having vague thoughts about E3 and the current state of AAA game development in general..
like yeah direct promotions have had more of an impact than Big Events for me, and the main thing I'd want to see out of E3 are trailers for new games or the conversations that follow online - but a few points on that
I can just as easily look up “new games for [platform] [year]” on youtube
Something about the way AAA games are built these days makes me get bored of them ⅔ of the way through, if I even make it that far, on top of them charging more for less content and hiding away the rest behind multiple DLC packs
I've mostly been buying indies the past few years and have gotten a lot of fun out of them; they continue to deliver a nearly unrivaled experience of fun gameplay mechanics and interesting/emotional stories at a ridiculously low cost
I also have emulators for going back and playing old games I really liked so I'm not exactly desperate for new games
and idk!! weird to see E3 officially ending but I also think the landscape is very different these days including the game companies themselves. I'm not a game dev so I can't rly speak to what the change has looked like on their end over the past 10-20 yrs.

now in my head i understand and i know it's a very good and cool artistic choice that during the scene in s3 of seven saving thirteen (you all know what i'm fucking talking about let's be so fr do i even need the screenshot) that when it plays back seven actually reaching out for thirteen that it's not a fluid animation and it's frame by frame movements to illustrate how little time they had and how quickly seven was moving to save her. yet however as an editor with a specific taste for my own content i'd fucking love this thing to have a bit more GODDAMN MOVEMENT /J

For a show about diagnostic medicine, House does shockingly little actual diagnosis.
"Start him on antibiotics." Have you seen a bacteria? No? That's because apparently nobody on your team knows how to grow a culture or run a gram stain.
"It's probably cancer, start him on radiation." Without finding the cancer?? Without knowing what it is so you can decide on a treatment plan??
Very funny that actual diagnosis is too boring for House, so he just throws treatments at people until it almost kills them and demonstrates what the problem isn't.

Some Plex History things for Sewerhell Sunday:
There are only two animatronics from the closed Carnival attraction that haven't been scrapped to Sewerhell. The Halloween themed Jack-O-Moon (well, Eclipse really but his official name is Moon), and the spring themed Chica.
There's quite a lot of Chicas over the course of the Plex's lifespan. She's used as a filler character by Fazbear, meaning wherever there's a gap, they stick Chica there and call it a day. She's the most replaced of the animatronics, and is very rarely running an attraction actually built for her. There's also been a few more Cupcake animatronics than Chicas, with the most recent Chica being the only one to not have a Cupcake of her own at any point. She was intended to have one, but after the last Chica, they decided it wasn't worth it, despite the Cupcake already being built and ready to go.
