Fuck it I’m speaking my truth. Boobers y’all gotta stop being unnecessarily mean to ConnorEatsPants. I’ve been going through his sf6 vods and every time he references being ostracized and harassed by twitter users, my heart breaks. Connor even said that he no longer mentions being friends with Ranboo and other creators because he doesn’t want boobers to start hating Ranboo for it.

And he’s right btw. Remember when there was a possibility Connor might be in genloss? Instead of being excited or just saying nothing, boobers began linking threads on why he’s such a horrible person and how his inclusion would ruin the project as a whole. We don’t even know if he was joking or not, yet you all still celebrated when he didn’t appear in episode 2. I’m pretty sure Connor will never publicly interact with Ranboo or this community again after the way you all treated him. That’s really fucked guys.

While I understand the want to “hold people accountable” for their past actions, 1) it’s not your responsibility to hold people accountable over the internet and 2) judging everyone on their past mistakes alone is a very dehumanizing and hypocritical way to view other people.

Why is this community all about treating other with respect and kindness, especially when they’re on the spectrum, but Connor is the exception?

Saw a tiktok this morning that really rubbed me the wrong way, and I'm still thinking about it... so rant incomeing!

The tiktok was talking about bad fanfiction reading habits. They were saying how they noticed they had this really bad fanfic reading habit that they wanted to correct next year. In the comments, a bunch of people were agreeing with them and saying they also had this bad habit and wanted to fix it.

What was the bad habit you may ask? Not leaving comments? Not leaving kudos? Not sharing the fics they liked? Oh, no no. The bad habit was reading shorter one shot fics. Excuse me, how is that a bad habit?

The reasoning for why it was a bad habit were things like: I read to fast so I end up reading a lot of little stories instead of one big one (yeah so?), it makes you spend too much time jumping between fics (why is more fics bad?), they take away from real fics (I'm sorry what?), reading one shots encourages bad writing habbits (excuse me, how?), I fall for the story but then its just done cause the author was too lazy to keep going (disrespectfully fuck you!)

I could not believe how many people were calling reading one shots a bad habit and justifying it in a that put a negative spin on that kind of story and author!

Don't get me wrong, having preferences is fine! I prefer things in the 4-12k range. Everyone has that sweet spot where it just feels like the perfect length, and that's okay. But to call out reading an entire type of fic (one shots) as a "bad habit" and "something to be fixed" is so rude and disrespectful.

When you say a fic isn't worth reading because of the length, that its not real writing, or its reinforcing bad writing habits to read it—what you are saying to the authors of those fics is, "you and your writing are not worth anything and the 3k words you gave me for free aren't good enough." That is not okay.

Having preferences is okay. Discounting fics because they are small is not. Reading one shots is not a bad habit, and writing one shots is not a bad habit.

I thought about responding directly, but I won't really give the satisfaction, so let me make something ABUNDANTLY clear: I will not, nor will I EVER entertain drama of absolutely any kind. I have a very strict no bullshit policy. What that means for me is i WILL NOT under any circumstances just let needless hate continue either to myself, or towards people I consider at least acquaintances of some kind, people who have been nothing but kind, or legit friends of mine. You know what I just realised. The bats gotta be in constant pain. Not just because of their bodies being essentially all kinds of fucked up from badly healed broken bones, always being some kind of bruised or the lasting damages from whatever hits they take.

But the scars.

Scars can hurt a lot. If you have deep and big ones, they can hurt even years after having gotten them. They itch and pulsate. They feel like someone’s stabbing a hot needle into you as deep as they can. Or a knife repeatedly slicing through you. Even years after.

And (presumably) having so many of them, and a lot of them probably also quite deep, they can limit your range of motion/muscle movement as well. Which in turn can hurt as well, if you accidentally stretch in a way your scars don’t normally easily allow you to.

Okay, okay, so... I have been sitting on this ask for a LONG time. I honestly don't remember how long it's been in my inbox. I have thought about deleting it, but just couldn't. Becasue really, this is a reasonable question and fair point. Yeah, don't try to ward off minors. My opinion on minors in fandom is probably different than most. So...

Hot take guys: it's not my job to police the people consuming my content and I do not care if minors see my stuff. Yeah yeah I know, bring the hate.

To be clear, I am not advocating for minors interacting with adult content. Its just not my job to keep them from it. I post to ao3, which is age gated. If a minor reads it, they actively chose to go find it. And as someone who actively chose to seek out adult content as a minor, I know first hand it happens and people lie about their age online. So, I guess I just can't bring myself to say fuck off to a group of people that I was once a part of. If they sought out something of mine and want to say, hey that was cool thanks! You know what? I appreciate that. Now, I'm not gonna like, actively talk smut with someone that I know is a minor, but I'm also not gonna banish them cause honey that would be calling the kettle sooooooo fucking black. Yeah, I was posting and reading smut at 14, but I will not talk to you, go away! Can you spell hypocrite?

In all honesty, minors in fandom are my people. That's where I came from, and if anything, instead of shooing them away, I highly encourage them to: stay alert, stay educated, and stay on top of moderating their own experience. Read tags, avoid things that give you the ick, and block people that are inappropriate (ESPECIALLY if it continues after they know you are a minor)! Minors are never going away. They will always find their way into fandom, and the responsible thing to do (imo) is not to ignore that but make sure they understand how to be safe.

Also, for the record, my blog is labeled as "spicy" and if you're in fandom, you know what that means 😏 So yes, I do have a disclaimer. It's just not in flashing neon lights.
