I remember people cringing about trans people getting tattoos of the chemical makeup of testosterone/estrogen or their hormone start dates, and I was looking at some of those tattoos, and honestly, they are so incredibly cool and unique and frankly beautiful. It's cool to get tattoos of important or life-changing moments in your life. It's cool to make your body a canvas to paint, a temple to decorate, a place to live.
#trans#transgender#lgbt#lgbtq#ftm#mtf#nonbinary#i will get a testosterone chemical tattooed on me in spite /hj#g-d i love tattoos 😭#i was ranting to my dad about how i want a tattoo of an old hyperfixation of mine just now lmao#i have way weirder tattoos than a little testosterone guy lmao#i'm of the opinion that people really make tattoos into a bigger deal than it is necessarily#like 'oh you have to get the RIGHT tattoo for the RIGHT reason' like??? what does that even mean#people cringe over ANYTHING so. My favorite headcanons, Dark Side Edition
Orange Side: "wow, you're including him?"
Yeah I know, I'm so great for doing so. - He is an instigator, he causes fights and debates constantly by blurting out an opinion he knows the other sides will hate just so he has an excuse to yell (he thinks it's fun.)
-He's naturally a loud guy, his whispers are barely quieter than normal talking.
-His handwriting is TERRIBLE. No one can really read it, except Remus because he taught him how to decode it. Just so he can annoy Janus when he can't figure it out.
-Remus and Janus are his best friends, and he specifically loves to make Logan mad.
-He's tried to make Patton mad and has only succeeded once, and never again. He keeps trying though.
-Loves spicy things. Probably eats takis for breakfast.
-dyes his hair flaming hot-Cheeto ass red, and he's iconic for it.
-He wears leather jackets... yeah...yeah he does.
-Cronus. that is his name ty
Remus:
Where.... where do I even BEGIN
-He's slightly taller than Roman and holds it over him constantly "Oh you can't reach the top shelf? let the BIGGER brother get it for you."
-Remus definitely writes fanfiction. Thats it.
-He is very musically gifted with instruments, especially the Tuba. He will convince Roman to perform with him and make him sing along to his tuba for 'brotherly bonding.'
-The first one to get lost if they went to an amusement park together, Logan would have the map and then turn around to see Remus is already missing.
-Dude is weirdly extremely flexible, like nearly contortionist-level of flexibility.
-he made a deal to marry Janus if they were single by 40. He initiated it and bothered him until Janus sighed and went "Fineeee."
-Like Roman, he sings on a daily basis, just... a lot more purposefully obnoxious.
-He likes to go into Romans room and make things just out of place, like stealing a single bulb from his fairy lights or moving things slightly to the left.
-He loves to play hide and seek, sometimes he'll just hide for no reason until someone finds him and screams when he gets scared.
-He also loves Disney, but he likes bringing up the disturbing behind-the-scenes facts that he knows.
-He actively thinks about the Roman Empire, as a joke.
-He does his makeup too, and he often does Romans' makeup too- it's one of the few parts of the day when they don't argue at all.
Janus:
-Despite loving snakes, he actually has pet rats. Two of them.
-He's the kind of guy to start a fight between two people and then begin recording when it escalates "Oooh did he just call you that? You going to let that slide?"
-In AU's where they have powers, I like him having the ability to shapeshift into people he makes a connection with. So when he finally opens up with someone he transforms into them and back to his normal self to prove that he cares y'know...
-He does care a lot, even though he fights often with the other sides he sees them all as his friends. Remus will always be who he's closest with.
-He and Virgil being bitter exes makes sense. idk it just does. I don't make the rules.
-His favorite board game is Secret Hitler. Because he is great at it.
-Birds creep him out, he doesn't like how they look up close and how loud they can be.
-Made a fake account posting fake science facts and tagging Logan, so Logan will go on long tangents about how wrong he is. Then he will reply with "Nope."
-Every time someone asks him to hand them something he will say "No." and hand it to them anyway.
-Makes sure everyone is taking care of themselves, he may not get along with everyone all the time but at the end of the day, he makes sure they are properly taken care of.
-would definitely get a two-headed snake tattoo.
- he NEEDS snakebites, like... c'mon.

Incoherent rambling on about Dazai's arm
Listen, I myself didn't expect my ass to end up like this but I'd be lying if I said this whole reveal didn't make me think. I started wondering about how it impacts the different aspects of Dazai's design and fan perception of him so of course I had to write a short analysis of everything that's been surrounding it and drag you into it.
No brain cells were used during the creation of this analysis.
More under the cut:
How does it impact Dazai's enjoyers?
I want to start off by saying that it's funny how people are actually divided on whether Dazai has been secretly exercising OR he has skinny twig arms. Currently, it's pretty much 50/50. Even if for now there hasn't been any consensus on which group is correct, both sides are equally enthusiastic and that's what matters. I'm not gonna use any screen shots as evidence (I'm not gonna snitch on the arm enjoyers, don't worry) so you have to believe me on this one or check it yourselves. I personally have no opinion in this regard because I don't know shit about muscles but it's been on my mind for days now and I did go down the rabbit hole so it speaks for itself.
For me, seeing a part of his arm exposed like that for the first time was actually quite surprising, because until now it has always been covered. Due to that, I interpreted it more as a character design in a similar way unrealistic anime hairstyles aren't supposed to be questioned, just accepted as they are. Not something that has any relevancy. That's why I thought we weren't going to see his skin under the bandages at all and the sight of this small part of his arm shocked me a little bit.
I like how it wasn't a dramatic reveal or anything, just him rolling up his sleeve. After 100 chapters (including the 0.5 ones too), it was so random and yet so realistic. Like irl there are mostly no grand reveals when it comes to things like tattoos or scars. People do stuff and they're visible. That's it. Obviously, it's usually more like your friend who wears contact lenses is wearing their glasses for the first time since you've met them but still, I like how Dazai showing his arm wasn't treated as a big deal by the characters. It makes me wonder how the ADA would react to this reveal.
How does it impact the consistency of Dazai's design?
Dazai usually has anywhere from 3 to 7 "big" bandage wraps throughout the manga (I'm not gonna talk about the anime because the design is slightly different) and this number isn't consistent even within the same chapter and doesn't really change (the number becomes neither bigger nor smaller over time. It's mostly consistently 3–7 wraps, so I think Harukawa pays attention to that so very cool on their part). I think there were 2 instances when there were shown more bandage wraps and they were when he was in the hospital and when he was threatening Kouyou.
Sidenote: in the Kouyou panel, he's rolling up his right sleeve, so it's possible that he wears more bandages on the right arm than on the left. I don't think it was ever explicitly stated that he wears his bandages symmetrically, so even if we collectively agreed on that, it still might be wrong. If he wears them asymmetrically, I'm gonna go feral.
What it means in practice is that we can't really argue about the number of wraps while analysing this panel as the number of wraps shown here is within the usual range, so it's realistic.
What is more, the length of the coat changes too, HOWEVER, it never goes above the elbow (besides that one instance shown below). From my observation, it doesn't even go higher than the exact point of the bandage wrap end in this chapter. If I'm correct, it will mean that there were times in the manga when the sleeve was barely covering the bandage, but usually it was down the middle part of his forearm, so no plot holes here.
I quickly want to say that as a fan of coats I love Dazai's design and the fact that his coat changes length depending on movement like coats do
How does it impact the aesthetic factor?
To begin with, we don't really know if this length is how Dazai always wears his bandages or if he's wearing them like that in the current chapter because he's in prison and they don't allow him to wear more. For the sake of my wondering, I'm gonna go with the former, but the latter is just as possible.
We don't know exactly how much skin Dazai leaves uncovered but we definitely see how much is left covered and that is at least most of his forearms and his neck probably down to his sternum [did you guys know that all vertebrate besides fish have sterna? I keep learning because of bsd] because the most unbuttoned shirt we've seen him wear is in the 4th chapter and he has bandages there.
If Dazai wears bandages for the aesthetic, it makes sense for them to only be present where people can see them.
How does it impact the functional factor?
There's obviously the idea that he wears bandages not to accidentally nullify people around him and in this case, it would make sense for him to only wear bandages where people can directly touch his skin. From what we've seen up until now, this option doesn't seem likely, but it's still my go to theory when someone asks me why Dazai wears bandages. It could be a mixture of this and what I'm about to discuss.
I think this is the part when I have to put a trigger warning because I will discuss stuff surrounding self-harming.
From what Oda said in the light novel, we can figure out that the main reason (or at least a partial reason if he really does do it for The Fashion) why Dazai wears bandages is due to the scars he has. It's important that we're never told what these scars exactly are, where they're located and how Dazai got them. It's implied that a vast majority is due to self-harm and Dazai's "clumsiness" but we've also see him get shot or stabbed multiple times so these things definitely left scars.
When it comes to self-harm, it makes sense that his scars would be located at the lower part of his forearms or somewhere we can't see them. There are some lines visible on his elbow but whether they're scars or just shadows or some other art style thing, it's hard to tell. I also want to say that whether Dazai self-harms or not doesn't change his morality. Having or not having scars doesn't make anyone more or less human. Scarring is something permanent so judging somebody's morality based on scars they can't undo is unfair. I've seen people talking about it, so I wanted to quickly share my 2 cents.
There's also the aspect of his neck and if he's hiding scars there I think it's probably either something to do with being shot/slashed there (like certain characters did in the past, not saying any names but we all know who I'm taking about) or failed hanging attempts. Both seem plausible enough so we will have to wait and see.
In conclusion
Dazai's arm reveal was a very cool event that didn't completely destroy people's vision of Dazai but at the same time raised some new questions. Right now, I'm wondering the most if his bandages are symmetrical because, as I said, I kind of accepted that they are, but this chapter made me think that maybe I shouldn't have. If Dazai wears asymmetrical bandages, I'll like his design even more because I adore this kind of asymmetry in character designs.
We still don't know the exact purpose of these bandages but if Dazai had no problem randomly showing his uncovered skin around the DOA members, it means it doesn't matter to him. Or at least it isn't that much of a big deal as it could've seem from how secretive he was before. Maybe his feelings surrounding bandages changed throught the series?
I wonder if we're going to see more of Dazai's skin in the future or if that was just a one-time thing from Asagiri and Harukawa to send us into a frenzy. If they wanted to turn us into victorian townfolks who go crazy because they've seen an ankle for the first time then they succeeded. Oh, they succeeded.
#if you told me last year I'd be writing a 1k word analysis on fictional man's elbow I'd laugh in your face#but I had so much fun writing this mess and compiling all the research#bsd#bsd spoilers#bsd manga#bungou stray dogs#bungou stray dogs spoilers#bungou stray dogs manga spoilers#bsd dazai#bsd analysis#bsd original#I had a mole removal today (3 moles on my neck)#and when the doctor was putting a gauze on my neck I kept thinking I should act overdramatic bandage myself up and cosplay Dazai#but it's all chill it doesn't even hurt now

Lele! I'm following up on that Valkyries/cultural appropriation ask. So Feyre using wings would be an example of appropriation? Or at least a little questionable? I've seen this discourse so much but I guess I've never really seen it as a character flaw of Feyre's since it's more like sjm didn't even think about the implications because she's white
Hello!
Every time I talk about this I can't find my previous posts where I talked about it (this makes the third time haha) and it makes me HATE tumblr. I am saving this one in my meta list istfg.
Feyre using the wings for sex is very questionable. It makes sense when she uses them to fight - why not use her shapeshifting for good? it's not benefiting her, it is benefiting her people that she can defend them - but imo it is quite distasteful when she's doing it just to level up her Sexy Times. Things that go into my thinking:
Wings are not culture, they are biology.
However, clipping women's wings are part of a bigger cultural picture which includes Illyrian women not being equal to the men.
There is a similar issue irl, female genital mutilation. That is a cultural practice that people have worked really hard to put a stop to. I don't want to get too much into that comparison though because I am not an expert on FGM, I just know it exists and how it has impacted women/teen girls.
The whole thing with benefit/discrimination in cultural appropriation is that the culture being taken from suffers from The Thing or doesn't receive any benefits from The Thing (in this case, wing clipping), while the culture taking only gets the benefits from The Thing (in this case, better sexy times).
So... yeah, I think it makes sense for Feyre to use her wings to fight and train. That's how the Illyrians use theirs, and they are recognized for that, yes?
But to shift during sex - especially since that was the basis of that whole stupid plot 😭 - is unnecessary and gives her, a non-Illyrian woman, a benefit to having wings that... idk if Illyrian women have? Both actions, the fighting and the fucking, certainly allow her to bypass the drawbacks of growing up an Illyrian woman with wings.
Two more things though - and yes I am good at answering a question without having a definitive answer 😂
Emerie. Do we think that Emerie, or any other Illyrian woman, would begrudge Feyre? Idk. That's tricky. I can see some of them being angry about it. I can see other saying "hey if she gets to do it even though I couldn't, that's great." I am the person who would say the second thing, but I don't blame anyone who would be bitter or angry over her ability to fly at whim. Other Illyrian women (Rhys's mom) retained the ability to fly. And yeah she's Illyrian so it's different, but Feyre is their High Lady and married to an Illyrian. So there's nuance there too, imo.
Second thing is Rhys. Yes, Rhys is Illyrian, but he also isn't the one who could suffer from having Illyrian wings. That is distinctly an Illyrian women problem, so I don't think we could say that his approval is enough to make it okay because... he isn't the one affected by wing clipping. I do think that he would have the "authority" to say if it's okay for people to wear the tattoos, for example, because he would be the one impacted by that. Speaking on wing clipping is just not his territory.
So is Feyre appropriating from Illyrian culture? Meh. It's debatable, in my opinion. It's almost the opposite of the Valkyrie issue because while there there was culture but no appropriation, here there is the taking (use of wings) without the culture? Because the cultural issue in question here is wing clipping. I am definitely side-eyeing Feyre more for having wings than I am the Valkyries for being Valkyries. The Valkyries are like "let's make a cool fight club and make it based on these women who did the same a long time ago", whereas with Feyre it is a demonstrable problem that Illyrian women have to deal with and are currently suffering for.
I think that sjm didn't think it through. She probably has the two situations - wing clipping and sexy sensitive wings - as completely separate issues in her mind. But to me it's also like - even if we were to say that this is cultural appropriation, it's cool to recognize that, but it's not a real culture from the real world. We are talking about a fictional character potentially appropriating from a fictional culture, not sjm appropriating from a real culture to make money selling her books. Does she do that in places? She's a veritable grab-bag of random cultural references, so yeah, I think people could make that argument (and probably have). Feyre's issue just doesn't have the gravitas to me, in the same way that discussion of sjm profiting from cultures that are not her own, might.

One quick question, why do you hate Before the Storm? I actually really liked it. It could be because I'm a hopeless romantic, but I just want to see your opinions on it
Oh boy, where to even begin...? I cannot stand bts... it actually hurts my insides to think about how much I hate this game haha.
[note: yeah hi uhhh... this is long because of course it is, it's coming from me but listen, my feelings for this game are not nice and I have a lot to say so.... my bad]
One of the bigger reasons, though not the biggest, is Chloe... I'm not exactly a big fan of Chloe. At all. Not in the first game, nope. I understand that so many people love her and they have their reasons for that, that's fine, she's just a character who doesn't appeal to me. If anything, she pisses me off because I can see the foundation for such a compelling character, but it all gets thrown away for the sake of bullshit.
So then they plop bts in front of us with Chloe as the playable protagonist in a prequel story about her and Rachel Amber. This is an opportunity to expand on her character, to tie into the first season and make me feel more positive feelings about her character, to do what the first game failed to do..... and to be fair, they DO have a few of them sprinkled in... but then they're overshadowed by the garbage.
It's just... the ideas are there, and they're ideas that I like but they're executed so poorly. I want to like Chloe Price, I can see that there's something good here.
Like okay.... lemme do a thing:
Chloe Price. She's going through some serious shit after her dad dies. He died unexpectedly in a car accident, something Chloe had zero control over, it's not fair, and even though it's not like the universe singled her out and said "fuck you," it feels that way to her.
On top of that, her best friend who she adores? She moves away. Not something that's in either of their control, they're kids at this point. However, Max stops contacting her and that hurts Chloe. Chloe tries to stay in contact, but eventually Max stops responding.
Then you have her mother, who's also grieving after losing her husband and dealing with her daughter pushing her away and on the wrong path. She meets a man and falls for him after realizing she still has a long life ahead of her and that's too long to be miserable over her husband's death, William wouldn't want that, and David is a source of comfort for her... something she's not getting from her daughter. The problem is that David and Chloe don't get along in the slightest... which leads to Chloe feeling like her mom is trying to replace her father by moving on, not understanding why Joyce's timeline of grief isn't the same as hers, y'know?
Oh, and can't forget that Chloe has fallen onto a not so great path of drugs, booze, bad grades, lying, staying out late without letting her mom know where she is, pickin' fights, making friends with drug dealers, stealing money and other items, all that. She's bitter, angry, unable to understand most of her own complex emotions and that only makes her even more upset. She's unable to express them in a healthy way, she doesn't ask for help, and denies it whenever offered.
So... Chloe's starts out as an extremely entitled, rude, obnoxious character. She insults the bouncer in the cringiest way possible because these adult men writing her don't know how teen girls talk, she steals money and a t-shirt from a dude who works for the band because $20? how dare? even though bands don't make a lot of money and a lot of profit comes from their merch but who cares about supporting artists you like, right? Chloe sure doesn't. She probably buys some weed from Frank because yeah, she's got a dependence on the stuff now. She gets into a fight with a couple of dudes after spilling beer on them.... but what's this?
Oh look, it's Rachel Amber. Y'know, the pretty, popular, talented, smart, perfect, charismatic girl from Chloe's school?? yeah, she's at the concert and saves Chloe from the dicks who attacked her, and the two girls spend the rest of the concert together.
Now, for some reason, Chloe isn't sure but Rachel has taken a special interest in her. Rachel is flirty, she wants to know who Chloe is, she asks her to skip school with her, and the two take a ride on a train to a park and... honestly? pretty romantic, and it plays into that escapism fantasy thing of having the pretty girl who everyone likes single you out, making you feel special.
Over time, the girls grow close. Rachel has some family problems and seeks comfort in Chloe. They spend nights walking together down empty streets at night, holding hands. They hang out and talk about the stars, they discuss Shakespeare and what it's like to actually be your true self, if there's actually such a thing. They get tattoos together, and Rachel helps Chloe color her hair. They have a special hideout they decorated together in the junkyard. Rachel spends the night at Chloe's enough that she ends up leaving a lot of clothes there. They daydream about running away together, long road trips and living big in LA.
Chloe starts to see Rachel as her angel because for the first time since Max, she feels like she has someone she can be open and honest with. Rachel almost seems too perfect to be true, y'know?
And hey, over time Chloe actually starts to kinda get her life on the right track, if not in an unconventional way. Sure, she's still dealing with losing her father. that's not something she'll just get over... but she does start making an effort with her mom, and yes, even David after he told her about his time in the army and gave her that photo. They both know they'll never be friends, and they'll still have arguments, but they'll at least keep the peace for Joyce's sake.
It's not all perfect, though. Chloe's still smoking and Rachel isn't always the best influence. They get into trouble here and there, but nothing super serious.
She dropped out of Blackwell so that her mom didn't have to keep paying her tuition and because she's fixated on this fantasy of running away with Rachel. Chloe's feeling good about herself, about her future, for the first time since her dad died.
Until Rachel disappears.
And everything goes to shit pretty quick after that. Rachel's gone, she's not answering calls or texts, and everyone keeps saying that she probably ran away, but Chloe knows better. She knows Rachel wouldn't leave without her, so something must've happened. She makes posters and puts them everywhere, but things only get worse.
Money is tight. Joyce isn't making as much as she needs at the diner, David isn't making enough as a security guard, and hey... they might lose the house... the house that was once Williams, that's a piece of him he left behind. Not only that, but where will they go?
Chloe doesn't want them to lose the house, or for her mom to be this stressed out over food and bills. Chloe borrowed money from Frank in hopes of using it to run away with Rachel, but with her missing... Chloe decides to give it to her mom in order to save the house. Joyce is alarmed that she has this much, but Chloe manages to lie her way out of it to give her mom some peace of mind.
Except now she has another problem- she can't pay Frank back and he's getting more aggressive about it as the weeks go on. Rachel's still missing, Frank's breathing down her neck with threats toward her mom, money is still an issue at home, and she's not in a good place. Chloe's desperate enough to steal... so when she makes it into a bar that doesn't card her and she sees rich boy Nathan Prescott drunk off his ass and flashing bills, she thinks it'll be an easy score. It's wrong to do this, it's dangerous, but Chloe justifies it to herself. She needs that money.
She didn't expect Nathan to drug her drink, and she wakes up to him taking pictures of her. She manages to get the hell outta there, but she still has no idea what the hell happened to her. Like.... that reeeally fucks with her, it doesn't even feel real. She can't tell anyone, she can't tell her mom, and the police won't do anything since they're under the Prescott thumb.... and well, she decides to blackmail him.
And we all know how that goes.
So... we have the highs and lows of Chloe Price. She's flawed, even starting out as unbearable, but over time she becomes more nuanced and you're invested in what happens to her. You want to see her better herself, you want her to work through her grief and get help, you understand why she hates David but when you see him and Joyce happy together and him make an effort to be better, you want to see them make amends. You know David doesn't want to replace William, hell HE knows no one ever could.
You want Chloe to keep going, to find purpose in her life and realize her own potential. You saw her at the beginning when she was broken, when she was lost and didn't see a future for herself, and it's satisfying to see her come this far to where she knows she has a future... something that becomes all the more tragic when you remember her fate in the first game.
You're invested in Chloe and Rachel's romance, you get giddy watching them flirt and do dumb, romantic, cliche things, and you're just as compelled by Rachel as everyone else. No, she's not perfect, she's not a stereotype, she's much more layered than that and it only breaks your heart when you realize that she's killed later on, that of course she's going to go missing... you already know that! So you're watching Chloe, who has gotten pieces of her life back together and is genuinely happy.... fall back down the pit, fall back into the habits she had at the beginning, and you know it will lead to her downfall.
.....TOO BAD BEFORE THE STORM DID FUCK ALL WITH THAT RIGHT?
Nope, you don't get any of that. Well, except Chloe being cringy. You get a lot of that.
No, no, we got edgelord, flanderized Chloe who thinks her wit is much greater than it actually is, whose terrible moments outweigh the good, and who doesn't grow or change no matter what influence you try to have over her.
Rachel could be replaced with a literal barbie doll and little would change. She has no charm, she's nothing like what she was described in the first game, and she's just so fucking unlikable. When she finds out that her mom isn't actually her birth mom, she claims that her whole life is a lie and her parents aren't real and she wants to meet her druggie mom who chose drugs over her for 15 years because she's the one who actually squeezed her out.
Which, by the way, WHY is this the goddamn plot?? Why did they feel like they had to shove in this "oh hey Rachel's dad is the bad guy, oh wait now this drug guy is the bad guy because he stabby Rachel, no wait now her dad is the super bad guy because he put a hit out on Rachel's REAL mom, oh no wait it's fine because Frank murdered drug man off screen" WHY YOU DO THIS??
You have three episodes. THREE. And in those three episodes, you have the opportunity to explore Chloe as a character, and her relationships with Rachel, Joyce, and David. But instead of dedicating the story to that, something you could've created a compelling narrative out of, you threw in this dumb mom plot and fire-
HOW THE HELL DID I FORGET THE FIRE????
What- why did- does she have- Rachel just- RACHEL SETS THE FOREST ON FIRE??? WHY THOUGH???
I get it, "Rachel is the fire" yeah yeah and it's dumb.
Oh and because we didn't have enough going on, here's a side mission where you gotta deal with getting money from this other kid who's running drugs for big bad drug man because he wants to help his dad who lost his job.
But WAIT, there's more- In a series where several girls were drugged by Nathan and Jefferson, forced to pose for pictures, and some even killed or driven to try and take their own life? something taken so seriously...? Victoria gets drugged and it's treated like a joke. Even worse, there is a path that has Rachel drugging her, and no one cares.
ALSO.... Rachel cheated on Chloe with two adult men, remember? One of which fucking murders her?? and we're just... we're just not gonna do anything with that??? Nothing??? Maybe a little stinger at the end but that's it????
I just..... I hate this game so much.
It had so much potential. Not only that, but it had the first game to look at and learn from. Learn from the mistakes that game made and improve upon.... but instead, they fucked up even worse. It's just a game of fanservice that has way too much going on, is trying to do too much, and loses focus on the most important things.
Three episodes could've been enough to explore different points of Chloe's character before the events of the first game. They could've crafted a story that gave more insight into her life that make sense of the choices she made, that turn her into the Chloe we see in the first game. You don't need a forest fire, you don't need evil lawyers. I know the first game had the storm and time travel and big dumb Jefferson, but you wanted to tell a story that's grounded without shit like that... y'know, before the storm.
I could probably go on and on if someone doesn't stop me, so I'll stop myself here... I hate bts because it's potential was there, I could see it in a few key moments, and it was wasted.
The romantic ideas fall flat because being pretty and gay isn't enough for me, I need more than that. I don't care if they kiss because I don't care about their relationship, and frankly, they've done very little to make me care about them as individuals.
UGH
.......does that answer your quick question? haha sorry for the not so quick answer, but like I said, this game makes my brain mad and once I get going, it's hard to stop.

Q: I was pretty sad when j//ngkook cut his hair. The selfish part of me was i loved it, it was hot and (pretty cute in bv in those pigtails :( But the tatts/hair , i felt he wS growing into his own person and he got a lot of hate for it. (Esp w the c*r incident) it was so bad, and still is. what i understood from a big update acc, is that the antis who were on a forum (where they bash lots of artists) moved to twt bc that forum got shut down. So now its easier to trend and spew their hate. (They trended a nasty hashtag on j**ins bday too) I feel like that mini break j//k was really growing into his own person, and i feel when he cut his hair, it wasn’t an aesthetic reason, but bc antis / ppl felt like he was out of control.
A: i agree with you that him growing his hair out and getting the tattoos felt to me like him taking ownership of his own image and doing what he wanted to, and i was really happy that he made that choice! but i think when we're so deeply embedded in fandom and we see fandom commentary constantly, it can start to feel like every decision the boys make is directly the result of fandom when the only evidence we really have for that is a narrative that we've put onto it entirely from the outside? sure, he cut his hair after the car accident, but he also cut his hair after they finished their break and right before they'd be doing awards shows and stuff, so it could just as easily have been a decision based on making things more convenient for the stylists or to fit a more polished image for official appearances! ultimately, the way i see it is that jungkook didn't give us any explanation for why he cut his hair, so for me to assume that he did it because of mean comments online (which is something that they've all had to deal with for the entirety of their careers, just like any public figure) feels like giving fandom more power over his decisions than it deserves (tbh i'm counting antis as part of fandom here, bc their obsession is exactly the same as fandom, just in a negative rather than positive direction).
obviously the fandom response is very important to their careers, and it's taken into consideration on a professional level, and i understand people feeling protective of the boys and not wanting them to be exposed to criticism, but to automatically assume that criticism is all they focus on and that it has the power to guide their life decisions feels, to me, like taking away their agency and personhood and turning them into someone whose choices are made solely in reaction to the opinions of masses of strangers, and that feels bleak and sad to me! i like to think that bts are bigger and stronger than that.
part of what bothers me about making these assumptions too is just that army has a tendency to go above and beyond in the name of bts bc we assume that certain things bother them (for example, the Fansite Discourse.) it always comes from a place of "we just don't want them to feel bad!" but i've seen that kind of protective impulse get twisted SO quickly into an excuse to disseminate hate online, or to police the opinions of people who disagree with you, and i like to think that bts trust us enough that if they want our help they will ask for it.
i just want to be EXTRA clear here that i don't think worrying about them makes you bad or means that you would participate in the kind of behavior i just talked about! i think it's natural to worry about them! but all we can do is to be loving and supportive of them and hope that they focus on our voices and not on the voices of people who want to bring them down!

Unfortunately anon, as sweet as you are, I don't have much of an opinion. I really haven't put a lot of thought into it because it didn't really seem worth a lot of thought. I've seen a lot of theories tossed around and I'm just meh on a lot of it. Maybe that's the vacation talking in part too. Who knows. They both have their 7s now though and I think it's cute that they both got the same style of 7 with the line through it. I wonder if any others will get a similar style?
Not to mention that now they BOTH have a finger tattoo and a behind the ear tattoo. Which I find insanely cute
As for JK forgetting. I honestly believe it probably just slipped his mind for a moment and wasn't worth spending too much time lingering on during a vlive where the whole main point he was heading towards was to end up talking about and asking for suggestions on where to get his own 7. This would be Jimin's 6th tattoo and it's tiny and hidden in between his fingers. I think it's very plausible to have momentarily forgotten where it went or if he was trying to be specific and couldn't remember which finger it was and was trying to think about that. Maybe Jimin verbally tossed around multiple ideas over where he could put it and JK couldn't remember right away which one he decided on. Memory can be funny that way. Especially since this is for sure a meaningful tattoo for all of them, but all of their tattoos hold meaning for them. And the other members probably made a much bigger deal about getting theirs done, their first ever, then Jimin did about his. Meaning hearing people talk about and show off their new tattoos online and probably even more so in a group chat or in person, makes those easier to remember. Jimin literally hasn't said anything about his 7. We've just seen glimpses of it on our own.
I know people (some jkkrs) have said that perhaps he was just respecting Jimins privacy because Jimin hasn't spoken about it himself. But Jimin rarely speaks about his own tattoos even long after everyone knows he has them. I mean, the entirely of the timeline lost its shit during Festa 2021 when he acknowledged and pointed to his Nevermind tattoo for the first time directly. Long after he got it done in 2018 and other members had made references to it. Jimin would show it off during Serendipity performances. Lol it's not like he was hiding it. But he never pointed to it himself. He never directly said something about it either. He never posted a picture, etc. But JK has poured water over where his tattoo is on stage so you could see it through his shirt and said "sexy." So is that him acknowledging Jimins tattoo in 2019 when Jimin hadn't explicitly done so? Or is that another indirect reference to the tattoo? Lol idk. You guys decide.
So while Jimin doesn't tend to point out his tattoos explicitly, he also doesn't ever hide them or act like they are something he would rather keep private. In his Proof video even, he shared photos where his newer tatts (pre 7 tattoo) were very clearly on display as well. And they spoke about it during the Festa Dinner, the friendship tattoos, and many members discussed about how they all wanted them. So it's not like we didn't know Jimin would be getting a new one.
Which is why I personally just lean a bit more towards the "it probably just slipped his mind" idea more than the "he wasn't sharing because jimin hadn't shared" idea. But who knows! We aren't Jungkook. We don't know his thought process or how he chooses what to share vs what not to share. I honestly think he really did just forget. 🤷🏻♀️ which isn't the big deal people are trying to make it out to be. Lmao a lapse in memory over a tiny tattoo placement. Especially after a long day of visiting family, who knows what else and, smoothing over jagged edges of armys emotions because as a fandom we have no chill. Then getting home at 11pm and immediately turning on a vlive to talk with and sing to us for an hour. Nor does this one thing over something brand new to Jimin negate all the other times they've known everything else about each other including obscure things only they seemed to know. So yeah. Not worth too much of my time, thoughts or energy in my humble opinion.💜
Honestly though too, in regards to tattoos, I'm just all emotional as heck that our sun and moon duo have got sun and moon tattoos. I love that for them. Honestly. They are the most badass people I know. A spine tattoo and the sun with that much shading?! Ouch! Lol they are so cool. This is worth much space in my thoughts I think. Lol
This is all just me though. Sorry for writing an essay in a reblog. Oops. Everyone is entitled to whatever opinions they want to have. Thanks for asking. I'll Try to turn my anons on again at some point. I just want to get home and finish my 2015 timelime first too. Lol and the way my inbox fills up so quickly with anons on can be intimidating and distracting at times from those project posts I have going on. 😅 Love yall. Sorry if my opinion isn't much of what you were looking for over it all though. Also I have no idea where to put this on my masterlist. Jikook Insecurities probably? Lol
Thanks for asking! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
Rosie!! I saw some of jikook account here talked about why jk didn't remember where jimin got his 7 tattoo. But i want to know stormblessed95 opinion on this. And i cant send her ask bcz her anons are off and m not comfortable sending her ask like this. I just want to know her opinion bcz i always thinks of her a logical and truthfull person. But only kanmom51 talked about it here and gave her opinion. Nobody else. It doesn't matter may be but still i want to know her thoughts too. So if you send this to her than thankyou.
@stormblessed95 people are asking for you!

I'm seeing a lot of people actually liked the last episode. Why didn't you?
it’s this thing again i have with the show lately, wherein i feel like it’s really close to being right, but then they just do something really outrageous that has no basis in character reality, that comes out of nowhere, etc, and reads as for shock value alone. and not just jughead! betty, cheryl, etc.
i want jughead to be a complex character, and i like that he’s getting deeper and deeper into his mistakes and losing his peripheral vision—to go low in order to rise up—in that i think it’ll make for some good acting and possibly some really solid, nuanced storytelling. and i’m glad the serpents aren’t puff pastries, in the end.
but there were ways to show jughead’s leadership, his doubling down, to do it other than mutilating a woman. i didn’t find any substance in completely underplaying the emotional ramifications of cutting off someone’s skin like that, nor did i personally feel his character was built up to that stage by then.
i think both the show and some of tumblr are desensitized to that kind of violence, but it really kind of…horrified me. and yes, i’m sure someone will argue it was supposed to, but just like the serpent dance, the purpose can’t just be disturbing your audience.
anyway, otherwise, the ep was fine. i’m getting tired of arguing in circles, so we’ll see how the next couple go! 2.10 looks good, and comparatively back to riverdale’s good stuff.
(and to clarify so people don’t storm my inbox: separation of character and writing is very important. do i dislike something a character did that was a justified writing choice? or do i dislike the writing because it was sensationalized without build up? answer: the latter. i don’t buy the writing. maybe i’ll change my mind. but honestly cutting off someone’s tattoo with a tiny ass knife is a way bigger deal than any kiss. that’s my opinion.)
