I want an au where Hannibal is his usual hedonistic self, and Will is a priest. They meet at a funeral, Hannibal is captivated, and he starts going to his services. He sees the darkness in the young man and wants to corrupt him further. Will may or may not have his own secrets.

With the 17th day of March approaching, please consider:
St Gertrude of Nivelles
Patron of Cats, the Recently Diseased, Gardeners, Travelers, Those with Mental Illness, and Those with a Morbid Fear of Mice and Rats.
Ok but why is she the patron saint of cats?
No, it's not because she really liked cats.
It's because she was good at doing cat things, like keeping mice and rats away. And spacing out - they say she spent most of her time in contemplation and such, to the point where she died from not doing pretty much anything else. Who among us hasn't had that happen.
Also she was in with god to get people released from purgatory. Mighty decent of her.
Sources: Here here and here also

And when picking up a blade I forgo god
A tainted paladin kneeling on the stand
there's nothing honourable about my battle
Blade to skin, battle scars
"Self inflicted wounds hold no honor"
Even jesters in the king's court don't believe in such empty words
For those wounds are memories of the battles
Battles of the mind, as god is my witness
He sees as i wield those weapons. Using the strength he's bestowed upon me for evil
Carving those demons
He wraps me in his light
Hurting his precious creation, blasphemy
Yet my biggest sin was not trusting in his love
But how could I? Love doesn't save a wounded soul even if it's from a higher being
Broken oaths

I'm sick so I missed church this morning and was on Tumblr instead — I'm not usually on Tumblr Sunday mornings. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Catholics I follow rebloging a Catholic sermon, and it was encouraging

I genuinely find the promo graphic for Tusk Love doing a pastiche of the way romance marketing is now the same way that the concept of Tusk Love itself during C2 was a pastiche of romance novels incredibly funny. Via the author, Thea Guanzon:
The way that the blurbs become more ridiculous as you go down the image. The joke of "oh wait, that was EXPENSIVE, I feel bad now" about ripping bodices, a scene I actually very much want ngl. I also very much need to know more about these murderous horses....
#Critical Role#Tusk Love#Critical Role things#also the speed with which my eyes jumped to “working class guilt” was EMBARRASSING. I'm so Catholic I automatically pick out “guilt” first

Okay I really want to hear your thoughts because I always thought the Naked Youth was John Mark Patron Saint of Cowards for no real reason other than 1) its only found in his gospel and 2) he's the patron saint of cowards lol
i get the appeal of judas x jesus, definitely but you guys are sleeping on john the apostle x jesus. like john? john the beloved? john, the disciple whom jesus loved? now there was leaning on jesus' bosom one of disciples whom jesus loved? the only one specifically mentioned to be present during his crucifixion? the apostle of love?
idk there is something so intimate about how throughout the gospel of john, this 'disciple whom jesus loved' keeps getting mentioned like "then peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom jesus loved following" or during jesus' crucifixion where "when jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved", but it's never explicitly mentioned that it's john. this phrase keeps getting mentioned again and again, in the end of the gospel of john, it's implied the beloved is like "it is this disciple who testifies to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true." the writer of the gospel of john, so the guy that's identifying himself as the beloved disciple is john the evangelist, who is believed to be john the apostle (not confirmed but most popular belief). like think of this, john is not even named in the gospel, he refers to himself anonymously as the disciple whom jesus loved. little hints all over like the closing sentiment with the testimony and stuff. AAA like damn.
also. scholars keep arguing over whether jesus and john the beloved's relationship could be seen as homoerotic. legitimate thing, christopher marlowe was on trial for blasphemy for claiming that "st john the evangelist was bedfellow to christ and leaned always on his bosom" like come on. think about them.
#no i am not over#patron saint of cowards#i'm not catholic#but i will make it happen#john the beloved#(the greatest disciple)#john mark

There's this way of doing female-ness in Christianity that I call "pastel flower journal Christianity." I've got nothing against pastel flower journals per se, but for some reason people believe it's the end all and be all of female spirituality, and I think it's a real disservice towards young Christian women.
One of these days I'd like to start a prayer-and-reading group or something for young women, but there would be no floral themes or over-focus on how "God thinks you're beautiful even if the world doesn't" (a true statement, but it's wayyyyy too often the focus in women's spiritual reading). Instead we would be reading:
Seneca's Letters from a Stoic
Frankl's Man's Search for Meaning
Sheed's A Map of Life
Portions of Pieper's book on leisure
Kreeft's Three Philosophies of Life
Guardini's The Lord (or something similar)
Therese's Story of a Soul
and some select portions of the Nicomachean Ethics.
(Also they're all getting the porn talk. I don't know why we give the porn talk to young men but not young women. There's this idea that women don't use porn and they only need the talk about "guarding their heart." Bullshit. There's porn on the YA shelves of Barnes and Nobles and before that there were bodice rippers. Young women need the porn talk too.)
Every young woman needs to be getting a basic grounding in virtue ethics, logic, natural law, scholastic philosophy and Biblical hermeneutics if they're going to get by in today's spiritual landscape. Enough faffery and emotionalism in young women's spiritual education! Give them real food to chew on, not pasty sentimentalism!
#Christian femininity#Christian women#Christian#Christianity#Catholicism#Catholic women#Catholic femininity#Catholic feminism#Catholic#I'm sure there should be something by Stein on this list but I haven't read her stuff yet#Anyway if I could shove one book into the hands of every young woman on this site#it would be either Letters from a Stoic or Man's Search for Meaning.#I think a lot of women on this site could benefit from those two books alone.#Much of the way we treat women's sense of spirituality and ethics is trusting them to just blindly feel their way to the right answer#While we give young men clear-cut instructions and reasoning.#It's bullshit. And it's actively harmful. I would never say feelings are useless#but without a well-formed intellect and conscience they're just not going to carry you as far as you need to go on their own.#I had the value of a good moral and philosophical education because of where I went to school—same as the boys in my class.#And it's spared me so much grief. People put the tools in my hands to make smart decisions and empowered me to seek the good.#All young women deserve the same.

Just a quick and gentle reminder that it is never, ever okay to wish harm, destruction, and death upon people.
Ever.
#yes even the people who are different from you#yes even those who may have opposing political opinions#yes even those who may have done things you think are despicable#and by the way this applies to EVERYONE! i am not targeting anyone specifically here because i've seen it across the board#in the light of. recent events#and i don't know maybe i'm coming at this with too catholic of a worldview. but i think if ANYONE is going to say “support human rights”#and then REFUSE to extend those human rights to people who they don't think deserve it?#then perhaps they should take a quick refresher at what they think human rights ARE.

January 28 . Feast day of St. Thomas Aquinas
Here we see the greatest mind of the church in his natural habit-at.
I decided to make a younger look for him since some of his notable events also happened when he was young.
Happy feast day to the greatest theologian!
#I'm late in posting this because I've been going through some stuff#But I couldn't let the days past without acknowledging the life of the great Doctor Angelicus#Grrrr need to get motivated making character designs again for these saints#🤪#St. Thomas Aquinas#Saints#Christianity#catholic art#my art#my faith#Saint Thomas Aquinas#digital art#want to make more pieces with his life events too
