17. What sort of role do they take on in relationships, either familial, romantic or platonic. i.e. are they a defender, protector, nurturer, etc.

i'm not sure if there's like... a set group of archetypes that this is pulling from or if they're just trying to convey basic attitudes so i'll probably just do. basic attitudes. hope that's okay!

Arianis - Arianis' familial relationships are quite different from their romantic or platonic ones; it's not that they don't get along with their dad, but they do get sick of his company pretty easily because the two are very different. when it comes to other relationships they're a lot more laidback and don't mind arguments/cold patches so much as long as they don't get Personal, though they can be sort of fairweather in a way unless they really trust someone.

Heluur - Heluur is really very stable when it comes to relationships (as with everything else)... he has kind of a lot of practice being the mum friend in his group of pals just because he's naturally the most responsible and least chaotic. it stresses him out sometimes because it can be difficult to pull that off when you can't really travel, but most of his close friends have learned to come to him when they need to. he's never been in a romantic relationship before but it'd be similar in principle.

Lithiana - Lithiana is definitely the fantasy equivalent of a Fun Party friend; she's always planning little events and fun get-togethers for everybody. a lot of the people in her close circle of friends are more reticent than most so she often has to work really hard at it, but it's something she likes doing and she's not going to let them dissuade her lmao. she's the same in relationships... she always likes to have some upcoming Thing to be thinking about and preparing for, whether a date or a party or something.

Malkorath - Malkorath's experience with interpersonal relationships is unique and a bit. skewed in favour of ones that weren't very good, especially before the past few years. as a result they're often bad at navigating social situations and friendships and their perception of "closeness" swings back and forth between "i really like that guy, i said good morning to him thirteen weeks ago and it was my Best Ever social interaction" and "following someone around like a puppy dog". they're a bit clingy, but not because they don't respect other people's boundaries, just because they haven't yet worked out how to set any of their own. their adoptive mother is trying to teach them, but it's slow going as they have a lot of shit to sort through. like Heluur they've never had a romantic relationship before so there's not much to say on that front.

Suchebh - Suchebh is very attentive to the people who are important to them; even if it doesn't seem like it or they act petulant or snarky sometimes, they always try to keep in mind what's going on with everyone in their little circle of loved ones and whether or not there's anything that they can do to help at any given time. this includes Twilit... though Suchebh would never admit it lmao

Twilit - Twilit's attitude towards relationships is... complicated. They're definitely the kind of person that you can not talk to for two (hundred) years and yet they'll pick right back up where you left off as though there's no extra distance between the two of you. time doesn't really factor much into their perceptions of how things are going; if they like you then they like you. All of the people who manage to get really close to them basically change their entire outlook and set of priorities, as a function of needing a feeling of newness and curiosity to actually facilitate that closeness in the first place, and romance wouldn't be any different.

gonna start of by giving a massive thank you to everyone!! i greatly appreciate every interaction — every like, comment, reblog and follower — and most importantly, the friends i feel like i've made along the way. it means a lot that you've found something you enjoy in my writing and blog

this is going to get a little sappy so you've been warned

it might be a little cringe that i take 1k followers this serious, but it is a little milestone i take a lot of pride in

(if you wanna skip my sentimental part and just read about my writing plans going forward, that's fine, lol, it's titled "the road ahead" further down)

i had a particularly rough winter — working a lot, making the tough decision of dropping out of university with one year left, going through the worst frienship breakup i have ever experienced, not eating or sleeping well — overall struggling mentally

during all of this, i picked up jjk and was finally blessed with a new hyper fixation. i now had more time on my hands seeing as i was no longer a student. i've always had a passion for writing, so i decided why not

so i made this account just for shits and giggles mostly, not expecting much. but the reception of my works has been beyond anything i could imagine — i am so extremely grateful

it has even helped give me that last little push to pursue writing as a possible future. as a huge reader, i've wanted to be an author ever since i was young, but always been too scared to commit to it, scared i'm not good enough

but seeing how people actually enjoy what i write has given me the motivation to apply for a one year course in creative writing next year. it's rather exclusive, only accepting 12 students each year, but i am going to apply at least lol

that is all thanks to you guys so thank you so so so so much ᡣ𐭩

2024 looked out to be one of the worst years of my life, but it has greatly turned for the better. this might actually be one of my best years in a long time, and a big part of that is actually due to this blog (meaning you guys)

so, yeah, okay, it's just 1k followers at it's core. but to me, it is also a sign of me actually putting time and effort into improving myself, my life and my mental health. therefore you guys are really important to me

the road ahead

now, i have quite a few ideas floating around in my head atm. i'm trying to challenge myself in writing more drabbles, bc i seriously struggle with writing shorter pieces, so expect more of that in the future

i may or may not have a series, that has been rotting in my drafts since early june. as of right now, i only have a rough outline for the story and a rough draft of the first chapter. i might feel motivated to continue this

and, as you might know, i am starting to get a little obsessed with haikyuu... i already have a few ideas. but i have to get further into the series before i feel comfortable writing for it

then, lastly, i am tempted to do a 1k follower event (if you guys are interested. lmk). i really wanna do something to celebrate this achievement. however, i am terrible with deadlines and writing schedules so it would have to be very flexible lol. it might take forever until i get around to doing it hehe. but know, that if you are interested, i do have an idea in the back of my mind

(all that being said, i am working more this fall due to the fact that i start the downpayment on my student loans in october, yikes)

“Are you sure they are that busy today?” you ask, trying to hide the disappointment and downfall of your mood but it's useless, emotions thick and clear in your tone.

Staring at the frozen yogurt in your lap, you refuse to be meet with Jungkook's apologetic eyes.

“Am I not enough?” Jungkook nudges you slightly, trying to tease you and lighten up your mood while holding his own frozen yogurt, as he holds the entire cup with just one hand.

However not even the corners of your lips quirk up, not even in the slightest, as you just can't hide your sadness. And Jungkook feels like shit, he just told you Taehyung and Jimin won't be joining you tonight – on this very special day.

“I just thought they'd celebrate my birthday with me,” you tell sadly and quietly, almost murmuring the painful words which makes Jungkook wince.

He knows how your birthday is special for you. It's not hard to forget how you admitted nobody ever made a big deal out of it in your family. Sure, they congratulated you, gave you some impersonal gifts but according to you, you barely had any birthday cake. Just only a few times and you had to ask for it or buy it for yourself. It broke his heart when he heard your confession but what broke it even more, was how sad you seemed about it.

You never asked for attention but not people properly celebrating your birthday, especially your family members, is truly heartbreaking to even Jungkook who doesn't even think of his birthday as something special.

“It's okay… you said they were working, right?” you sigh, trying to put a brave face as you finally glance up to look at Jungkook whose eyes are on you.

He gives you a brief nod, features softening when he sees the clear sadness. “I'm sorry.”

“No, it's fine,” No, it's not – even though you said it is. You're trying to convince yourself, Jungkook knows that. “We will have fun together, right?”

“Hell yeah,” Jungkook grins, scooping himself a spoonful of frozen yogurt. “Trust me, you won't regret your birthday!”

It sounds like a promise and although you're not sure if you trust him, you offer him a tiny smile in return. Still, you appreciate him celebrating today with you and making an effort. It's more than anyone has ever given you.

Jungkook is trying.

He barely gives you enough time to breathe, hand wrapped around your wrist ever since you arrived at the amusement park. Your eyes shine at the colorful scheme in front of you, distant screams coming from the people who decided to go on crazy rides while loud music booms in your ears. The sea of people doesn't help, making Jungkook's grasp on you get tighter as he makes sure he doesn't lose you in the huge crowd.

Jungkook is crazy when it comes to rides, you know he doesn't mind those where his head is upside down and the ride is so fast that it would make you vomit. However, he always picks the one that is more calm and he knows you will love. He buys every ticket.

Ferris Wheel is the first one. It gives you an amazing view, showing busy roads and streets along with its tall buildings. Though the air is chilly, you meet Jungkook's eyes and smile, showing him your silent appreciation. Even with Jungkook's presence, you still can't shake off the sad feeling, mostly caused because you're here with Jungkook alone and even though you know it's not true, it seems as if Jungkook pities you. It's stupid.

You know he just wants to make your birthday good.

The next rides are a carousel, bumper cars and even a large sized roller coaster (that is luckily one of those calm ones). You laugh the entire time, deciding it's better to just not worry about what could have been and appreciate everything around you. Jungkook is trying so hard to make your birthday nice, which he succeeds at, and you shouldn't be sad because your other friends aren't here. It's not fair to him.

He bought you even a cotton candy in the shape of a unicorn, which to your preference has cost too much for the amount of sugar. But Jungkook successfully ignores your little whines, shushing you and playing a few more arcade games in the separate building.

He keeps checking his watches, something that makes you question him every now and then. You even tell him if he has somewhere to be, which makes his eyes widen as he quickly assures you he's “all yours tonight” with a curved smirk. Rolling your eyes at him, you turn back to the game wanting to beat him at least once.

That's when Jungkook tells you he made a reservation in your favorite Korean restaurant, knowing you prefer a good old Korean barbeque instead of any posh restaurants.

And you lose for god knows how many times.

It makes you pout and whine, making Jungkook laugh at your competitiveness and somehow, even after your protests, he makes you play one last game before you both have to go to the restaurant to make it in time.

You win the last game. Even though you knew, you smile wildly and clap excitedly while you bump your hip into Jungkook's. He smiles fondly at you, congratulating you as you roll your eyes playfully at him because you know.

He let you won.

The ride is spent with you and Jungkook singing along to his playlist, recognizing he plays the songs you and him both know, most of them known as “your songs”. You realize he made an entire playlist which makes you smile wildy, still gripping the plastic pink rose he won in one of the shooting games. It looks cheap and is nowhere near pretty, but you cherish it and have it in your grasp until you arrive at the local restaurant.

The one you and your friends always meet because you prefer the place and most importantly, the food.

There are people inside, the delicious smell of garlic, pork belly, kimchi and everything mouth watering filling up the whole place, as they eat. Jungkook guides you through the place with a hand on your back, making your brown scrunch in confusion since you usually sit where–well everyone sits.

None of it makes sense but that's until he opens a room that's called “VIP”, but before you can question him you notice the tall and big table with a lot of food on it and most eye-catching, the big cake.

“Happy Birthday!”

And you're startled by the loud voices, your eyes moving to Taehyung and Jimin who have their arms in the air, smiling widely at you as they stand at the back of the table, birthday hats on top of their heads.

“What–” You look at Jungkook, eyes wide and already watering once you start to realize what's happening.

“I told you you won't regret it.” he grins, closing the door behind you while Jimin and Taehyung rushes to you to give you a big hug.

“I–aren't you guys working?” you ask, still confused while their arms are wrapped around you, not giving you a chance to hug them back as they are close to suffocating you.

“We're sorry we couldn't join you. We had to prepare everything and we had a little bit of trouble with the cake.”

A huge turquoise cake with gold sparkles all over it, your name written in an elegant font with a big birthday sparkler ready to be lit up.

“Yeah, we had to miss the amusement park. We were supposed to go too, but there just wasn't enough time so Jungkookie had to improvise.” Taehyung adds, grinning at Jungkook who shrugs.

“She was sad you guys weren't there.”

You look at Jungkook in betrayal, pouting slightly as Jimin laughs and hugs you closer to him.

“We are so sorry.”

“No, it's–fuck,” you sniffle, all of them cooing at you which makes you roll your eyes but you burst in tears as the three of them all hug you. “Thank you for making all of this.” Your voice shakes and it's so embarrassing, but you don't care not even when they baby you.

Jimin cups your face and wipes off your tears with his thumbs while Taehyung pats the top of your head. Jungkook isn't lagging behind as he squeezes your shoulder.

“We would never miss your birthday.” Taehyung says, smiling as you smile back.

“I can't believe you believed him,” Jimin laughs, looking at Jungkook. “We feared you would see right through us.”

“He told me you're working today,” you pout, “I know you guys are busy. It means a lot that you made the time for me.”

“Don't even say that,” Jimin scolds you as Taehyung immediately agrees. “We will always make time for you. You're our only precious girl friend.” he teases you, causing you to roll your eyes.

“Don't push it.”

They all laugh at you and you join them, before you're tugged to the table and asked to make a wish as Taehyung lights up the sparkler. Jungkook pulls out his camera, making you surprised he brought it and how, which later is explained to you, that Jimin and Taehyung brought it here for him so you don't suspect anything. He's taking pictures of you, your eyes teary as you make a wish.

You eat, laugh and even cry again during the evening with your friends by your side.

In the middle of it, a thought occurs in your mind.

You don't need anyone else here.

And that's how you know you've got the right friends.

For your celebration, they settled on one of the restaurants owned by one of their business partners. And that's how you found yourself in the passenger seat of Draken's car. Unlike your bosses, you preferred to take public transportation to work, you often used that time to catch up on what's going on in the world. He offered to give you a ride and you graciously accepted, not knowing how to get to the restaurant either.

This is probably the first time since that night, that you two were alone. Sure there were times in the office where it would just be the two of you, but that wouldn't last long. The other guys always loved to interrupt, they all wanted some of your attention. The silence in the car wasn't awkward but you could swear he was able to hear the pounding of your heart. Over the last few weeks you'd grown an infatuation for the blonde man. You weren't sure when it started, but you'd always try to sneak glances of him whenever he wasn't looking.

"You know...the guys are all happy to have you." He blurts out cutting through the silence and snapping you out of your thoughts. "I'm so happy to be working with them too. And with you as well Draken-san," You notice him look at you out of the corner of his eye before continuing, "I'm kind of thankful that Hanma cheated on me. It gave me a chance for a new start and I was able to meet you and the rest of the guys."

With each passing day it was becoming easier to forget your ex of 3 years, Hanma, you rarely thought about him and he finally stopped bothering you. Working for Mikey and the others was a big part of that, they made your days interesting and kept you distracted. "Did you love him? You don't have to answer if you don't want to." You shake your head.

"No, it's fine. Did I love Hanma? I like to think I did, but deep down inside I think he was just a placeholder for when I met my soulmate. Someone to keep me company so that I wouldn't feel lonely. I think it was also because of the fear that he would meet his soulmate and he'd leave me, that I wasn't able to fully love him. Him cheating on me was my excuse to finally let him go." It wasn't until after you finished talking about Hanma that you realized you had been crying. "Oh shit. Are you okay?" Draken noticed your tears and that sent him into panic mode. He leans over to grab some tissues in the glove box and gives them to you.

"What about you Draken-san? How did you find out Emma-san was your soulmate?" Wanting to change the subject you ask while wiping at your tears. "Actually, she was the one who knew. It took awhile for me to finally admit my feelings, but when I did, she was the happiest and that's when I decided I only wanted to see her smile." At that admission your heart started to ache, you knew he was taken, but seeing the way he talked about his girlfriend, you couldn't help but wish that it was you he was talking about.

You finally pull up to the restaurant just as the others are getting out of their cars. "That's no fair! You cheated!" You hear Chifuyu tell Baji which causes him to chuckle. You look at Mitsuya hoping for an explanation. "They wanted to see who'd get here first, Baji ran a red and won." You can't help but roll your eyes at just how immature they could be. You walk into the restaurant and your jaw immediately drops. This was definitely not the type of restaurant you had in mind when they said they wanted to celebrate your one month, definitely way too much for a one month celebration. It was the type of restaurant that other companies would bring their workers to, to celebrate huge milestones. You're brought back to reality when you feel someone close your mouth for you. You look up to see Baji with a smirk. "Careful sweetheart, we don't want any flies to go in." You narrow your eyes at him before walking away to follow the rest of the group to a private room in the back.

The hostess let's your party know that your waitress would be in to check on you in a bit before handing you some menus. You thank her before taking a seat between Draken and Baji. You're going over the menu when you hear the door open. You look up assuming your waitress finally arrived only to see Kazutora instead. "Kaz!" You immediately jump out of your seat and practically jump on him to give him a hug. It had been at least 2 weeks since you saw him, your schedules hadn't been matching up.

He lets out a chuckle while pulling you into a tight hug. "Did you miss me?" You pull away to look into his eyes before nodding. "So much! What are you doing here?" He looks at you with a grin. "I invited myself." You hear someone behind you clear their throat. You turn around to see Baji and Chifuyu snickering. "You can take my seat bro." Baji says getting up to switch seats.

Finally the waitress comes in to take your orders and surprisingly but not surprising at the same time, Mikey orders half the menu because he claimed "a celebration needs a lot of food." It was interesting to see how the guys act when they're not at work and don't have to act professional. Sure you've seen glimpses of their true selves when you're alone with them but it's different when you're not at work and alcohol is mixed in. Kazutora hands you a glass and tells you to drink it. And for some reason, no questions asked, you decide to down it. Your eyes immediately go wide. "Kaz! Was that....?" He just gives you a nod.

You're a different kind of drunk depending on the type of alcohol you drink. And when you drink sake, you become a flirty drunk. And considering you downed a decent amount, you were going to start feeling the effects soon. You turn to him, ready to give him a piece of your mind, when he puts both hands up, "I didn't tell you to down it babe. You did that all your own." You let out a sigh, you couldn't really argue with that. This was going to be a long dinner. After a few minutes you can feel yourself loosening up. You lean your head onto Kazutora's shoulder and interlace your fingers with his.

"Can you sleepover tonight? I've missed you so much and our cuddles." You pout. He gives you a pat on the head and a quick kiss on your forehead before agreeing. The food arrives and the guys get excited, Baji and Kazutora already arguing over who gets the bigger piece. "How long have you known Kazutora, y/n?" Chifuya questions from across the table. You and Kazutora glance at each other. You place a finger on your lips, trying to remember exactly how long you'd know him. "Since we were 16. So about 10 years." Their eyes widen. "Wait. Is she the one you had a crush on for like 2 years?" You turn your head to see Mikey looking at Kazutora.

You look back at Kazutora and his cheeks are a light pink. You reach up to give his cheek a quick squeeze. "You're so cute when you blush." You notice him shoot a glare at Mikey. What you don't notice is the way Draken tensed when Kazutora having a crush on you was mentioned. "Wait. You talk to them about me? Kaz! You never talk about them to me!" You pout and pretend to scoot away from him which just results in him pulling you closer to him. "It's nothing to worry about." He reassures you, which really doesn't do much for you. Your stomach let's out a growl and you feel your face heat up.

Immediately the men around the table are passing the dishes to you. Draken and Kazutora just piling food onto your plate. Your heart warms at just how quickly they've accepted you and just how much they care about you. The rest of the evening involves a lot of laughter, the men trying to out drink each other, and food. You reach for the last piece of chicken in the curry dish at the same time that Draken does. You both pull back but he insists on you taking it. You figure out a way for both of you to enjoy it. You raise your chopsticks in front of him. "Just take a bite Draken-kunnn~." He shakes his head, pushing the chopsticks back to you but you wouldn't take no for an answer. He realizes that you weren't going to give up so he takes a bite which causes you to giggle because you were happy to have won that argument, which really wasn't an argument. The night ended with Draken having to take Mikey home, Chifuyu having to take both Baji and Mitsuya home while Kazutora took the both of you home. The sign of a good night.

I hit a follower milestone and honestly, I cannot believe how many of you are out there and reblogging and liking my mix of mental despair and thirsty thots so I want to give back to you guys (because you're amazing) whilst also being creative in a new way!

I'm listening to a lot of music at the moment and thought 'I wonder if I can link any of these songs to the Pedro Boys I write for' and weirdly - I can??

Song: All these things that I've done - The Killers

Lyric/s: "You know you gotta help me out. Don't you put me on the back burner" "I got soul but I'm not a soldier."

Reason: Javi wants to be in the middle of everything, and this song works particularly well end of season 2/the beginning of season 3 when he is quite literally put out of the action and he hates it. The second lyric speaks to who I see Javi is, tough guy on the outside but inside he's an emotional guy, he just got good at hiding it.

EZRA

Song: Work Song - Hozier

Lyric/s: "No grave can hold my body down, I'll crawl home to her." "My baby never fret none about what my hands and my body done."

Reason: This song is very connected with Ezra's inner thoughts. He's determined as a person, had to be to survive on the green that long but that also means he has a twisted moral compass. He's done shit, said it himself, "You're a killer. I am." yet when he finds someone, they won't care for his past. Only who he is now and the majority of this song is praise for the singer's partner and the metaphors used are VERY Ezra.

DIN DJARIN

Song: Peace - Taylor Swift

Lyric/s: "But the rain is always gonna come if you're standing with me." "Your integrity makes me seem small."

Reason: NOW HEAR ME OUT. This song, while I know some people will hate on it being Taylor, is genuinely brilliant. It's very Din, very "I'm a bad person who's done terrible things and I don't understand love conventionally but I will die for you in a heartbeat. I can only give you me and I hope that's enough." AND WHAT IS MORE DJARIN THAN THAT OK !!!

OBERYN MARTELL

Song: Sunflower (Remix) - Post Malone

Lyric/s: "You'll be left in the dust, unless I stuck by ya." "Pero se me olvida cuando te veo desnudándote."

Reason: OK this was the trickiest, Oberyn has such independent energy no song can capture him but this particular version of sunflower is pretty damn close. If he had a second paramour, they would 1000% be called sunflower and the whole song is a clash between lust, sex and love and not fully realising that last one until the end. Oberyn is a very intimate and passionate person but does he fall in love easily? Absolutely not.

FRANKIE MORALES

Song: If I go, I'm going - Gregory Alan Isakov.

Lyric/s: "This house, she's holding secrets." "And I will go if you ask me to. I will stay if you dare." "The photographs, know I'm a liar. They just laugh as I burn her down."

Reason: The entire song. The house is a huge metaphor for the mental state of the person singing, and how they feel in their own body. Comparing memories to a house burning, leaving easily but then daring someone to love them. It's a gorgeous song and I see Frankie in it wholly with his struggles with what he was and who he is now - if you haven't heard it please listen to it ASAP.

MAX PHILLIPS

Song: Use Somebody - Kings of Leon

Lyric/s: "I've been roamin' around, always lookin' down at all I see." "Countless lovers under cover of the street. "You know that I could use somebody."

Reason: The entire song is very Max in the film, one man above all else not caring who gets caught in the crossfire. I think if Max had actual character development though, he would be a very lonely person and he would realise he needs someone there with him, would need that anchor to reality. ((I have many thoughts on Max P))

WHISKEY

Song: Save a horse, ride a cowboy - Big & Rich

Lyric/s: "I make a lot of noise because the girls are so pretty." "But her evaluation, of my cowboy reputation, had me begging for salvation."

Reason: First lyric, pretty self-explanatory for what Jack puts out into the world. His bravado, cocky smiles and ladies man persona is what he wants you to think he is, but that second lyric (weirdly sentimental for this song) hints at Jack's past, and hopeful future - that domesticity and willingness to settle down for the right woman but still be the same ol' Jack.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS BLOG IS AT 500 FOLLOWERS! I'm like...speechless.
