"How can I put this? I have... non-masculine issued parts, but, like, what does that have to do with me being a man?" I asked bluntly. "After all, you just said I did all the things a man could do. I didn't do any of it naked and nothing between my legs was involved in the proceedings. Does it matter?"

That stymied her. "A... lot?" came out from a deeply uncertain. She looked me over, and it was wenches night in the tavern when I was fifteen all over again. I braced for denials, for analysis. But she surprised me by saying. "Is that why the codpiece is so... forward?"

I blinked. "Yeah. I friend of mine makes them for knights like me. They're expensive, but worth it. It's not enough just to stick a bit of leather down there and call it a day; they have to be shaped right, with layers, you know, give a nice bit a bulge, complete the look of the thing," I said, and then wondered why the hell I was babbling about it. I just still felt so ridiculously proud of it, you know? Codpiece out to the wind, no finer feeling.

"Knights like..." she choked. "There are more of you?"

Bewildered, I answered. "Sure. More now than fifty years ago, of course. We have our own guild and everything. The Knights of the Pride. We have knights, damsels, clerics-"

"Damsels?"

The tone was so sharp it could have julienned a diamond.

"Damsels. Like, me, but reversed," I said slowly.

"There are people who do that?!" she squeaked, eyes bulging. "Like it's normal?!"

"Why not?" I snapped back, sharply. "The road to personhood is long and often winds in strange ways. Who are you to judge? You live in a castle surrounded by hellbeasts and three separate lava moats. No one who does that got that way being normal. No one gets anywhere in life normal. Normal is just a personal opinion."

"In daylight?!" she shrieked.

I looked at the absolutely buckwild feral terror in her eyes. I'd had to cross four separate vast abysses to reach here. The one we were edging out over right now felt a lot deeper.

I squinted at her carefully. She'd been agitatedly moving around in front of her dark throne this whole time, flustered, and despite a stupendously elaborate amount of corsetry I suddenly noticed the baby bump had...

... well, let me put it this way. Either she'd stuffed a cauldron under there or we were about to have a Class Five Baby Event. I'd trained as a midwife originally, so I did notice this stuff.

Also... like. She was wearing a lot of makeup. Pancaked on, dark on the eyelids, eyebrows plucked. You saw knights like that sometimes. I'd known a few who wore it like that, shamefully, terrified, under their helmets which they never took off...

At least until they were ready to trade iron for floral prints, calvary heels for dancing shoes.

Okay, I thought. Okay. Okay. Wenches night at the tavern. That stripped down, skin crawling feeling, that you'd run to the end of the world if you never had to feel it again. Even to a castle behind three lava moats, if that's what it took.

"Yeah, there are lots these days," I said honestly. "Really nice ladies. Great weavers, artists, corsetmakers, cobblers. They can do swordwork and smithing too. Some of them even keep their beards, you know, they just... glitter them up. The things they can do with braids would make your eyes roll around on the floor."

I never in my life had seen such a complete vision of envy as I saw on that face. "I'm friends with a lot of them," I added. "We play cards in between me heroing. I always bring them back souvenirs."

The cauldron had slipped past any possible claim of loins. I didn't mention this.

"Oh," she said quietly. "I would have thought," she added, every word slowly dragged out. "That one would... be... your... lover? I mean," she said hastily. "That's generally what young knights do. Defeat beasts to impress lovers."

"That's not really my thing," I replied. "Never has been. I've never really... you know. The unicorns get so confused by me. I have friends. I like having friends more than anything." I shrugged. I had defeated that dragon of shame long ago.

"People can do that?" she asked in a small voice.

The cauldron clanged to the floor.

There was a long silence.

She stared at me in embarrassment and hope.

"Yeah, okay," I sighed. "Get me some paper and a pen, and give me twenty minutes. I'm going to have to draw up some charts so you can follow along."

The pregnant evil queen smirks as she places a hand on her swollen belly. "Now hero, you won't kill the mother of your own child, will you?" "Lady, I am female, infertile, and never had sex before, so that lie is not going to work on me."

Okay so I have a new Dragons Rising theory and I need everyone to know that I have never been more confident in a theory in my life (which may be something I come to regret saying).

However, I'm going to put it under Read More because it WILL contain SPOILERS for anyone who hasn't watched DR yet (including S3).

I've seen a theory on Ninjago Tumblr that Ras's masters are the Time Twins which is a theory I LOVE because there are so many signs pointing towards it, for example: in season 1, just before the merge, when Lloyd is talking to Wu, we see the phrase 'control time, control everything' written on the wall in Ninjargon which HAD to have been there for a reason, right? I mean, Doc Wyatt is definitely the kind of writer to put an easter egg like THAT in the show, and so early on too. Plus, the Merge changed the realms completely, through a rift that looked very similar to the timestream from HoT, so it easily could've changed time, therefore allowing for the Time Twins to slip out of the timestream. There's also the lighting when Ras is communicating with his master which @steepwysdom pointed out looks very similar to the lighting of the Iron Doom (this user also made a really great video about this theory that I would definitely recommend watching for more details).

But there's one thing that puts me off this theory slightly: the fact that whenever we see Ras talking to his master, he seems like he's only talking to one person (e.g. the fact that he uses the singular 'master' and not the plural 'masters'). So I've come up with a slightly amended theory:

ONE of the Time Twins (specifically Krux) is Ras's master. The other Time Twin (specifically Acronix) is the Administrator.

Here are the reasons why I think this:

We don't really know much about either Ras's master or the Administrator except that both of them are taking control of pretty much everything since the Merge. The Administration allows the Administrator to keep an eye on everything in the Merged lands at all times and Ras's master knows everything Ras is doing at all times, meaning they can see everything the ninja are up to whenever Ras is around them. So what if this is the Time Twins' way of trying to keep track of the ninja and keep them off their trail, maybe them ordering Ras to do things such as free the Forbidden Five in order to distract the ninja from ever finding them because they've got something much bigger in store for them?

I also think that the fact that some people were displaced after the Merge may have been a cover up for the Time Twins displacing the ninja so that they're separated (because this would make them more worried about finding each other than finding them). It could also explain why Jay works at the Administration - they put him there when he lost him memories so that he would be faithful to them rather than the ninja, causing further issues for them when they lose a team member. Plus, we know that when Wu returned from the timestream, he had lost his memories, so maybe Jay losing his memories is some kind of foreshadowing for the fact that the Time Twins are behind everything?

Ras is constantly telling Arin that he wants to "reverse the Merge". Well after season 3 (especially the scene towards the end of the season when he's gazing at the ninja together with anger and/or jealousy), I think he's telling the truth - I think Ras DOES want to reverse the Merge, and the reason he thinks it's possible to do this is because he's seen his master (Krux) reverse time before. Because maybe the Merge caused the Twins to get their powers back (as we've seen it GIVE powers to people without them before so surely it's a possibility) and now they're out for revenge.

Whoever's behind it clearly wants the power of the Source Dragons and we know that the Time Twins are obsessed with power, wanting to "control everything". Well the Merge gave them the perfect opportunity to do that, because with their time powers, they can probably control the Merge in a way no one else can and they want to use that to their advantage.

In season 3, Morro tells Arin that Wu must still be alive because if he had died, he'd have passed through the Spectral Lands, meaning that Wu is probably being held captive and is only able to communicate when he gets the chance to (explaining why he's so cryptic when he does appear).

Wu clearly knew that the Merge was going to happen, just like he knew Acronix was going to return 40 years after he and Garmadon banished the Twins. What if just before Wu escaped the timestream, he saw a sign, telling him about the Merge and when it was going to happen?

In the 'Golden Hour' short, Wu rips one of the Time Blades out of the Iron Doom, and I think this may have unintentionally caused the Merge. There is a massive explosion when he does it, the Time Twins are suddenly nowhere to be found and the Iron Doom is destroyed. This could have caused some sort of rip in time that escalated into the Merge years later, and (as I said in the point above), Wu saw the sign for this and mistakenly thought he had the time to solve what he had done.

It's not a perfect theory and there's probably a few plot holes here that I haven't taken into account, but I think it'd explain a lot.

cherry wine: (medieval au (roar of the fire verse)), King Max takes issues with the way Lord Carlos Sainz looks at Queen Charles. He decides to do a demonstration on who the queen belongs to. (should be out this weekend.)

beholden to no gods: Charles goes to confront Max after the 2019 Austrian GP, things go a lot further than either of them were expecting. Max is elated, but Charles is rather shell-shocked and upset with how much he liked it. They deal with the aftermath, specifically with Max’s growing fixation on Charles. (fingers crossed this is out May 2 or 3)

one degree of separation: (omegaverse) Charles and Oscar were a surprise hookup that ended up turning into a relationship. When Charles wants to try a threesome, he convinces Oscar to invite Max to join them in bed. The fallout is devastating.

roar of the fire: When the Kingdom of Ferrari capitulates to brutal warlord Max Verstappen, he has only one demand- he wants to take his childhood rival, Charles Leclerc, as his bride. Despite Charles' outraged resistance, he finds himself firmly in Max’s possession.

say yes to heaven (say yes to me): Charles and Max are getting married but the day of the wedding a variety of factors (pressure, insecurity, anxiety) gives Charles a massive panic attack, causing him to run away before he can walk down the aisle. Max tracks him down and they fuck about it.

Actually DC fixing Gotham's jailbreak problem or even killing a couple of Batman rogues would be such a breath of fresh air.

The roster is pretty tight as it is, so trying to fit new bad guys without stepping on a pre-existing rogue's niche is kinda hard. The old rogues are fun, we love a classic, but they're also a bit stale. There are only so many times you can re-invent the wheel before you need a break, and since we're shuffling between the same bad guys again and again you don't have enough time to miss them for the most part.

I'm not saying you can't do interesting stuff with the classic rogues, I actually think some of them could make for pretty interesting modern storylines. I just think it comes a point where it's to the detriment of Batman himself. How many times can Joker escape Arkham or Blackgate before you start scratching your head about it. Yes, I actually really like the whole no killing thing. Cassandra Cain is my favorite character, I don't think Batman has to start killing rogues, but he should definitely do something about the constant break outs.

Yes, I know, it's great to bring an old rogue back...but that's only if you're bringing them back from something.

Let Bruce Wayne fix Blackgate penitentiary, let him actually invest in cleaning Arkham and turning it into what's meant to be instead of a torture facility. Now, when he catches a rogue it has stakes. Once most of the old rogues are out, introduce new players taking over the power vacuum. Maybe one of them is in cahoots with police and we need an arc of cleaning the police force (god forbid we make an actual critique of the structure but that's DC for you). Maybe one of them is an anti Bruce Wayne with enough money and resources to keep his criminal and personal lives separate. Give him villains that require detective work to put behind bars! Or just give him villains that fit the new era.

You don't have to keep having the same rogues break out of jail again and again, especially if you're not interested in exploring other philosophies outside of Batman's "Killin is wrong and we can't do anything about how extremely ineffective our jails are nor change society in any meaningful way". The thing is, to keep Batman from stagnating they have to keep jumping the shark which means that Gotham keeps getting worse and worse despite Batman and Bruce's efforts. In fact, it almost seems like he's making things worse.

This post is my answer to that: make things better, give some semi permanent solutions, add new rogues to fill the power vacuum and keep things fresh without needing to have seven active gangs, several meta humans, the mob, ten serial killers, several assassin cults and the Joker all simultaneously active. I know nostalgia sells, but it also makes things worse! Also, I'm only suggesting this because of the direction I perceive DC to be taking with current Batman (which is edgy but a bit more wholesome than the Dark Knight era). If they wanted to go back to noir, super edgy and dark, sure, turn Gotham into a hell hole. But idk, having so many lighthearted issues and comics with way more family stuff (fluff and drama alike) doesn't jibe with the absolutely hopeless state of Gotham.

Idk, maybe someone will tell me "mmmm actually this has been done before" but I just want them to stick to it. Fix Blackgate or I can't take Batman seriously.

I know I've only poked around the fandom for like.. A MINUTE but I have a thought as I go through meta and fanfic stuff, I keep bumping into interpretations bouncing between "Shen Yuan is a nasty little gremlin of a man just like the original Shen Qingqiu" to "he's a very nice person deep down unlike the original goods" but for me I'm kinda feeling like...

They're not the same person on a literal level. But they are also kinda the same guy, in a way in which they are running much more parallel than I think is given credit, in ways that makes SY much more fleshed out than The Nice One and SQQ flattened down to The Mean One.

Mostly I'm thinking of someone's video essay that touched briefly on Nature Vs Nurture themes in the show, and while they were talking about in reference to Binghe's arc, it made me sit back and think instead about how SQQ and SY could arguably fall under the same debate despite being more definitively separate entities than PIDW Binghe and SVSSS Binghe are.

Just off the top of my head:

They're both are very academic in their interests/skillsets, but SQQ's issues have twisted his perception so that his interests are instead standards of measurement against his worthiness as a peak lord (or just a person in general) vs SY's interests seem to come more calmly, given that he could binge read novels and more-or-less seamlessly fit into the scholar peak. Both display tendencies to defend their skills/interests from perceived or even imagined criticism...

...But both are ironically also pretty damn critical of others around them! The key difference that Shen Yuan is typically more internal about it once he transmigrates because now he doesn't have a keyboard between him and his targets unless SQH is around vs Shen Qingqiu is has truly just lost his ability to give a fuck, using his words as much as a shield as a weapon against perceived threats aka everyone and everything.

The level of self-deception that these two engage in re: their self-worth and how much they mean to others needs to be studied in a petri dish.

Both have a Specific Person that is critically important to their place in the world that come with complicated feelings of love, anger, self-worth, trust issues, etc. This really clicked for me when SY is taken to the fake bamboo house after being caught by Binghe. Whether or not Binghe's intentions are good, all SY is feeling is anger and tells him to leave him alone. He trusted this person! And what did he get? Captivity. So he lashes out verbally to keep him at arm's length because that trust has been damaged. Wait why does this sound familiar--

Furthermore, they are both pretty good examples of personalities where protectiveness of that Person can bleed into being domineering. SY doesn't realize he's done this to Binghe until nearly the end of the novel, where SQQ learns it early to survive and never unlearns it especially in regards to YQY. Both of them have big ol trust issues, have learned that they have little control over the world around them, enough so that they feel the need to control even their closest allies around them -- because they feel that if they don't, they cannot be safe.

Both tend to get misinterpreted -- and then react to it almost as polar opposites. Shen Qingqiu's more minor misdeeds or even attempted good deeds get taken negatively because of his personality, and he realizes this but gives up. Where Shen Yuan's actions often get received more positively than he originally intends or even wants, especially at the start of the story when he's primarily only thinking about his own hide, and there's lots of times where this goes completely over his head.

All in all, I think I'm finding more that I appreciate things that take this into consideration. That SY and SQQ are very much mirrors of each other's flaws and strengths. It's also just a sort of sad irony that SY starts the story hating SQQ so much but gradually becomes more forgiving of him as he learns more about the man and himself -- especially when you take into the factor that Shen Qingqiu... also hated Shen Qingqiu.

So i remember an ask mentioning your mortal enemy, Felis Atra and their cats, and i thought it'd be fun to draw what Felis Atra's version of your italian dogs would be.

I think they would be called Butter Knife and Flamengo! Butter Knife is not his real name, it's an nickname given by his peers because of how harmless he is. I choose Flamengo because that's the name of Vasco's rival football team here in Brazil, so i thought that was the perfect name :)

Cat Machete was slightly inspired by the Oriental Shorthair cat because of their long noses and thin head shape.

Cat Vasco was inspired by the Scottish Fold cat, because FLOPPY EARS. I gave Flamengo longer ears and orange fur to make him more like his look-alike.

The last doodle is a reference to this ask (https://canisalbus.tumblr.com/post/728923918314946560/me-i-am-machete-ear-fan-number-1-those-ears) and contains the tumblr ask stand-in dog, whose cat version was inspired by the American Curl cat! They have round ears that are slightly floppy outwards.

Final notes: I know cardinal clothes don't come in vibrant blue, but i was ADAMANT on switching Machete's and Vasco's clothing color patterns. I would draw the rest of Butter Knife's and Flamengo's clothes, but i suck at designing cool outfits.

Speaking of outfits, for Machete's iconic void outfit, i figured it would be fun to make it more baggy for Butter Knife, in contrast to Machete's, that looks very tight-fitted. I think it's cute, it kinda looks like a sweater. Also i can't imagine a Machete doppelganger without high heels boots, so those HAD to stay.

Oh, and just to be clear, i'm not like, claiming ownership of these guys or anything. I just thought it would be a fun exercise. Hope you like them!! I love your art and your characters.

au where bruce is attracted to his robins and batgirls. he tries not to think about it or act on it, but it's getting more difficult with every new member of his team he acquires. does anyone know? do the robins and batgirls notice his weird behavior? what do they do about it? do they ever find out the truth? who would think it's terrible and who would find it strangely hot/comforting/nice? does bruce ever act on his feelings?

oh my GOD do i have thoughts for AUs like this, i love this shit so dearly, dirtybadwrong Bruce who's trying to keep a lid on it my beloved.

i think the fun of this AU is if characters would notice Bruce lusting for themselves vs would they notice Bruce lusting for a different Robin/Batgirl. like does Dick pick up on it when it's just him and Bruce? no, because it's just. him and Bruce. he and Bruce are weird and complicated and hold endless bounds of nuance. that's just How Bruce Is, and Dick is the "test run", in a sense. he knows Bruce is new to this whole sidekick/family thing and is giving Bruce grace for being rough around the edges. but when Bruce starts looking at Jason or Tim or Cass that way, that's when Dick starts to notice. it's never enough of a suspicion he feels justified to bring it up, but the thought lingers. he's hyperaware and grows less and less comfortable with leaving them alone with Bruce. it's a weird game of chicken, Dick and Bruce staring each other down when Bruce's touch lingers too long. each waiting for the other to say something first. if Bruce ever broke and actually acted on his feelings, Dick would be eaten alive by the guilt of knowing something was up, but never saying something until it was too late.

obviously, Cass would know. there's no world where Cass *doesn't* know, the nature of who and what she is would immediately clock it. but the issue is, Cass doesn't have a good framework of what family looks like. she doesn't really understand familial vs romantic love bc she has no firsthand experience of what a parent's love should even look like. so she never calls it out. she just watches. i'm a fan of Cass believing this is normal and believing she too can express and act on attraction that's vaguely incestuous. maybe it's with Babs, maybe it's with Dick or Tim or Bruce himself. but she recognizes this as Normal and Accepted within the Batfamily, so it severely fucks up her understanding of familial love and i just. man it's my favorite thing about Cass in Batcest honestly, is how you can play with her lack of experience with love, boundaries, and sexuality.

Tim is the fun one for me. because my favorite flavor of BruTim is when Tim knows, as he agrees to be Robin, that there's a non-zero chance that Bruce is going to be Weird and agrees anyway because he's decided it's an acceptable risk. so Tim knows from the get-go because he's expecting it. if Bruce acts on his attraction, i think it's either with Tim or Cass first, because they're the most likely to confront him about it in a way that isn't entirely negative. Tim has accepted it's a possibility and Cass just seeks being loved and touched so. it leads to the first time someone's ever confronted Bruce about it. and the thing is, Bruce really doesn't like confrontation about his flaws. the first time Tim tries to imply he's okay with it, Bruce would lash out at the idea, tell Tim how inappropriate that is and benches Tim for a week. it'd probably take a united front from Cass and Tim to get Bruce to even *admit* to the attraction. still Bruce wouldn't allow it to happen and he brushes them off until finally, the dam breaks. it's fun if there's a cause like sex pollen, but i think it's *more* fun if it's just. a random fucking Tuesday and finally Bruce is at his limit. he has no real reason, there's nothing particularly different about that day's routine. he just sees Tim or Cass striping armor and sighs and gives in.

i don't think Steph, Jason, or Babs would notice until anything substantial happened. not because they're not wicked smart, but just because none of them were looking for it. Jason put Bruce on a pedestal when he was alive, and when he came back from the dead he wasn't close enough to be noticing Bruce's interpersonal dynamics outside of his narrow scope. Steph has no real framework for what healthy fatherhood looks like, so if Bruce's touches linger, if he stares too long, she just shrugs and assumes it's how it is. and Babs was just never quite close enough to Bruce to notice. if and when she notices, is when actual sexual things start to happen between Cass and Bruce. because Cass would see no reason to hide it. Babs would be pissed, but it'd be tricky to navigate. Cass would be an adult, even if she's only 18/19, so technically, she's old enough to be consenting. if nothing else, Bruce is a careful man. even when he breaks and gives in to his desires, he covers his tracks well. he makes sure he has enthusiastic consent and there's no legal recourse that could be taken. age of consent and all that. there's not much Babs can *do* other than try to tell Cass (and/or Tim) that this isn't normal or okay. not that it gets her anywhere, but god would she try.

by the time Duke comes along (if we venture out of the pre-Flashpoint era) i think it's a sort of. open secret, in the Batfamily. talked about in nothing but hushed whispers and knowing glances. at some point, they've all had sex with Bruce, caving all for different reasons. some more than others. Tim sees it as a duty, Cass sees it as a way of seeking comfort, Steph sees it as getting Bruce's approval for once, etc. it's never forced on them, but eventually, they all come to Bruce sooner or later. and that's the fun irony of it, i think. they try to convince the others not to, but would go to Bruce on their own well. because complicated reasons they can't put into words. sometimes, Bruce is just a messy man who doesn't realize how prized his Attention to for the rest of the Batfamily. that weird duality of not liking him, but also wanting desperately for him to like you. all of them have dealt with it, at some point. so for Duke, it takes a while for him to understand this... whole dynamic. it's Cass who tries to explain it to him, and he's a little horrified, a lot confused. especially when Bruce starts staring at him a little too long as well. i think he'd only want to watch first but well. they all cave eventually.

also fun bonus if we venture into the Dark Knight Returns universe for my bestest girl Carrie Kelley: there's such a like, "i'm fucking around and i'm finding out" vibe to Carrie. like Tim, she's very proactive in just. deciding she's going to be Robin and she's ready for whatever that entails. (IMO canon Carrie is closer to fanon Tim than canon Tim is but *that* deserves its own post-) like she takes one look at the old man that is Batman and goes yup. he's never fucking getting rid of me now. if Bruce started having weird feelings about her, i think she'd have *fun* with it. she's decided she's in it for the long haul and for whatever being Robin means so. she's almost teasing about it, seeing how hard she can push before Bruce snaps. since it's an older, gruffer Bruce, i think he'd express open annoyance at it first, almost a sort of banter about how Carrie behave. but of course he caves and Carrie leans into it, because there's a fun in having all of Bruce's attention to herself. in the main timeline, Bruce is pretty split with so many Robins and Batgirls, but during their era, it's *just* her and him and she's very proud she's got him all to herself.

how fucked is it that my exs sibling i lived/raised for 5yrs stopped contacting me after my ex broke things off. i knew that kid from ages 16-23. i thought i was a important piece of their life, i thought i was a sibling.

i sat through their panic attacks, drunken outbursts, fights with boyfriends, being brought home by the cops. i was with them when they had their abortion, i was the one who held their hand while their fugly ass bf was at work. i put myself through hell for these people and they dropped me like i meant nothing.

i raised cats with my ex, and now i have these senior cats, while my ex's sibling got a replacement kitten.

i keep doing this. putting 110% into others and never getting the same back, or i get burnt. i need to stop.

I'm sorry for coming to complain but I have something to say: I already know that in this fandom there are many opinions about what Arya and Sansa's relationship is going to be in the future and that we always complain that the Sansa stans talk about Arya as if she were going to become a servant of her sister, "one is the strength and the other intelligence", which are going to complete each other and all that shit (among all the other stupid things they have said) I agree with complaining about that because they are erasing attributes of Arya's character THAT SHE ALREADY HAS, and that we have always talk about Arya being a character apart from Sansa, someone who has her own story, her own purpose and that her whole character is definitely not reduced to just becoming her sister's employee after she always treated her badly in the their childhood.

Okay, I agree with all that. Those types of comments bother me too. But I feel that as a result of this very silly arguments have been born about why Arya and Sansa could never be friends because "they are very different, in personality, experiences and worldview" I'm sorry but I don't agree with that because, it is true that they are different, but let's not pretend that they don't have many things in common, and this goes beyond their personal characteristics or the fact that they share an entire family.

How different are their experiences? Yes, one is the red fortress and the other has to travel thousands of kilometers but in the end they both went through similar things. Both saw their father die, both were abused, both were beaten, both have been sold into marriage, both have been sexually abused, both have met cruel people and have had to pretend another identity to survive. The fact that it is in different contexts does not take away from the fact that they do have similar experiences, so that argument is very silly. And I don't say it with the intention of saying that Arya and Sansa are going to be the "best sister foreveh" I just hate that argument cause it dosen't make any sense, also throughout the asoiaf universe we have seen how completely different characters have had a great relationship come on.

Tyrion and Jaime are also wildly different and loved each other, Sam and Jon are also wildly different and no one is saying they could never be friends.

Also, it bothers me that they ignore the fact that Arya DOES care about Sansa, maybe Sansa doesn't care about Arya that much but Arya has always been fond of her sister, even when she was cruel to her.

Again, I don't come here with the intention of saying that they are going to be the best sister forevah and all that, I just hated that argument and also pls don't erase that from Arya's character either! that she has always been a good sister to Sansa, even if it was not reciprocated she was always loyal to her people, to her "pack"

Plus Arya and Sansa's relationship is definitely deeper than just "respect." Way more.

I feel like this is a good example of my earlier point that Arya stans need to over-explain points/theories to not have them taken maliciously (especially if they included Sansa). I still want to answer this in good faith though, because I don't believe you intended it to come off like that.

I will start by saying that the theories about Arya and Sansa not getting along aren't retaliatory to the fandom's perception of the "Stark Sisters 4ever". The idea of them not getting along is based on their conflict in AGOT, them being written as foils, George saying that they have issues to work out, and the fact that their characters haven't fundamentally changed since they've been separated (i.e. what's in the books). They've both been through a lot but trauma isn't a substitute for growth, and the issues they have will still exist. A big part of their conflict is Sansa's classism, which leads her to look down on Arya, and she has yet to grow out of that trait. If she reflects on this in TWOW then that's a different story. For now, we have to speculate with what we have. Not only that, but I could see Arya having less patience for her sister's behavior considering everything she's been through. There could be mutual hostility.

Tyrion and Jaime are also wildly different and loved each other, Sam and Jon are also wildly different and no one is saying they could never be friends.

As for this, the difference is that we're shown these characters having a positive relationship on-page. No one says Jon and Sam can't be friends because we see their friendship develop. Tyrion and Jaime eventually have conflict, but there's also a caring relationship built between them before that. Arya and Sansa have tender moments and fond memories, but their relationship is mainly antagonistic in the first book. If we had seen them getting along well before and, say, the trident incident had been the source of their conflict, that's an entirely different dynamic.

I don't think anyone with this prediction is ignoring Arya caring about her sister, it's more about the lack of growth on Sansa's part. While Arya tries to apologize and bridge the gap, even thinking of ways to please Sansa (I'll kiss her and beg her pardons like a proper lady, she'll like that), we don't have any equivalent moments from Sansa. She has fond memories of them playing in the snow, thinks of naming a daughter Arya, and overall misses her family and I'm not downplaying that. It's just that it doesn't supersede the relationship we've seen play out between them (or the fact that she thinks of Arya as unsatisfactory even though she believes her to be dead). It shows that they love each other and could reconcile, but there's no guarantee. Arya can't maintain that relationship one-sided and, considering she's already tried to apologize, Sansa will have to put in some effort on her side.

I don't think their relationship is built on just "respect", they do have sisterly/familial love but that isn't all-powerful. George has stated that he reworked the Starks to give them conflict because they were all getting along and "families aren't like that". I doubt that he'd go to that trouble just to conveniently get rid of that tension, especially considering the amount of sibling conflicts we see in this story. No house gets along perfectly and this is intentional! We aren't ever going to really know until we get TWOW, but I just dislike the framing of this theory as baseless or trivial.

One thing that my bestie pointed out to me tonight that disgusted me and made me immediately recoil- my behavior has been changing because of the Boy and whether or not he engages with me, and my mood is hinged on whether or not he gives me attention. 🤮 ewwwww!!! Cut that out right now!! Of course it's normal and fine but I don't need that! Especially right now, post breakup, my life is a mess. The sex was amazing but I need to start detaching myself from him because he changed SO MUCH in the past 4 weeks. He played a looooong game to get to me. Bought pastries from me twice in the past year, sent me messages every day, got his tattoos at a shop in my neighborhood, asked me out, and now he barely talks to me. Which is so bizarre. But maybe he believes he can kick back and stop trying because he thinks I've fallen to my knees for him? I really can't try to decipher his behavior nor do I want to. He is pretty immature (hence "the Boy") and if he wasn't so talented in bed I would've stopped engaging with him from the first time we hung out.

Due to my apartment ceiling caving in, I'm couch surfing. He knows this and offered to get us a hotel room this weekend. This is a final chance to see if he can do something an adult man would do, and follow through with a plan. If he doesn't, I'm going to tell him he disappointed me and I don't have space for that right now in my very busy, very stressful life. So he won't be coming back to my apartment after the ceiling is fixed.... and I guess I'll never be invited over to his place because he lives with his parents! Oops 😬 🤭
