Well that's actually happening for real now, because our GM is not only running a oneshot separate from our main campaign this weekend, but also very encouraging of letting us pull expy nonsense. Joke's on him if he think I'm not committing to the bit, though, so have the portrait I drew for the "Pilot" section of my character sheet.

Most refer to Waka in this AU by his callsign "Onmyōji". Those that don't usually just call him a pain in the ass.

I think one of the biggest lessons ep5 wants to teach you, is that if Battler posits on ep5 that he is NO LONGER the detective, and you therefore can no longer trust his testimony in that episode (ie him seeing kinzo’s ghost) than what may you learn about eps1-4 where he IS the detective?

What truths are factual, seen with his own eyes? what truths may be hidden in his blind spots?

An example shown in ep5 may be the way to look at magical scenes, think natsuhi happily walking with kinzos ghost in the garden, where lambdabern cruelly tear away the heart of her testimony to show the truth of her standing alone, sad and quiet😢

HHHHMMMMmmmmm, i see. i think i used to be more conscious of this "only 100% trust what battler can see with his own eyes" rule in the beginning, but then after a while it felt like there SO much he didn't see, and i'm not even talking only about the magical scenes, i'd have to be suspicious of SO much, that i got lost 🤦🏻‍♀️ and like... what the hell happened in episode 4 then? piece battler very much saw a woman like beatrice in the portrait standing on the balcony, he spoke to her. unless he's nearsighted and saw it wrong lmao... but ??????? FUCK

Well. Just finished (though knowing me I'll still keep adding brushstrokes ad infinitum nonetheless) a monochrome ink painting sketch of the maestro as a warmup for actually painting (instead of procrastinating out of fear to irrevocably fuck it up, you know) the long intended watercolor portrait. And I thiiink I'm actually happy with how it turned out?? At the very least in case I won't be able to finish the main portrait there will still be this one, so it won't be nothing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
