I’ve been intentional about this! I made a list of things I want to get out of my saturn return in my 1H and one of those things is clear skin so I’ve been consistent with the routine like actually tracking it on the calendar! Losing weight was another on that list and the last two months I was just focusing on food like getting back into cooking and the last almost 3 weeks I’ve been tracking all my food and even using a food scale. On the last day of this transit I signed up for the gym!

Overall I would give this transit 6/10 😂 the mental anguish was toooo much Omggg I hope it’s easier in 2025 and after that I’m glad I don’t have to deal with this for another 30 years

Hi, I saw that you had a discussion about the queerness of our beloved characters. I really hope you’re not tired of that topic, because I wanted to add another point.

First of all I don’t really care. I really like the dynamic between most of the characters, especially Ghost and Soap, but I don’t care if it’s interpreted as besties or lovers. I think both is fun.

I just wanted to add that maybe all of the MW story feels so fucking gay, because we lack cool women? We have Farah and Laswell, but let’s be real Farah is basically married to Alex (I thought they were a couple at first) and Laswell is married to a woman. Now people go great lengths to ship the male characters with female villains, who only appear in a small fraction of the story and have no real chemistry. I mean they can do whatever floats their boat, but I don’t really see the point here.

Which leaves us with a bunch of man ‘flirting’ with each other vor comedic value. I think given this and the points you already said on your account, I think it’s even a bit intended that most of our characters might not be the straightest.

Sure, a bunch of straight men can exist without women and still be straight and the military still might not be the most women friendly institution, but I think having more girlpower would have been an easy way to make everyone appear more straight and the devs didn’t go that route sooooo… (I still would love to have more cool women, but that’s another topic)

But yes, I don't think I'll ever be tired of the ol' queerness discussion. It's a fun topic to debate especially with these characters in this particular game.

Controversial take, but I actually don't think adding any extra female characters would've been helpful in making the 'gay' go away.

(gonna be a long discussion here, settle in if you want to read it haha 😅)

What we have to put in mind, is that this game wasn't made for the female audience. The vast majority of the people buying and playing it are going to be male. That's the facts. It's going to cater to men.

A game made for men is going to have a majority of those characters be male. Adding new female characters in a REBOOT series is a delicate task when a good chunk of the population playing have played the OG and want to see legacy characters back (which are all male—the OG was all men).

That means that when we look at why certain things are framed and why there aren't many female characters, and especially why there isn't much of any confirmed (het) canon romantic ships between any characters, it's because the game itself isn't focused on it.

That same vast majority of men don't actually care about ships in general and with people trying to be more progressive, any female characters introduced are painstakingly written to omit any overt possibility of romance. In one sense, it's a welcome change from the action movie style plot line where man + woman = relationship with the women being just side characters/window dressing to the MC.

Women here are shown to be tough, that they don't need a man at all. They have their own agency. It's pretty nice actually that they did that. None of the female characters are infantilised nor is there a sense of them being there to "check boxes" in the minority bag. They make sense in the framing the game has placed them in.

But we do have this interesting dynamic whereby removing the romance factor, but having female characters in a setting that most are conditioned to read as man + woman = relationship, it de-emphasizes heteronormality and actually emphasises the relationships between the core characters.

And with a game full of men, that means the relationships between men are going to be the focal point.

Adding extra female characters, wouldn't have changed any of this, because the writers have gone out of their way to not make romance a plot of any sort. (There's a whole other discussion on the flaws of trying to give women agency/proving strength of character, but by doing so, taking away their sexualities by removing any sort of romance, but that's beside the point)

I think there's also an argument to be had that meaningful relationships with others don't have to necessarily imply romance between characters. It's totally fair to be sick of always having romance injected in to these sorts of relationships. That's an extremely valid take.

But there most definitely is a double standard that everyone is operating on. And we see that when we compare Alex/Farah's relationship with Ghost/Soap's.

Alex's most meaningful relationship is with Farah. He sacrifices himself for her cause and loses a leg for it. He comes back and stays by her side. Most people assume to take it as Alex is in love with Farah. We never see any type of flirting between the two. In fact it's mostly Farah testing Alex and looking at their dialogue you can tell there's respect between the two, but anything more is undefined/up for interpretation.

Yet it's just assumed by virtue of Alex and Farah being man + woman, that they must be together because of how much Alex had sacrificed. Completely ignoring the possibility of Alex doing so because he believes in Farah's cause and was sick of being jerked around with no choice by higher ups who largely didn't care about the suffering of Farah's people. Suffering that the man had personally witnessed. But no, he must be in love with her. (If Farah was a man, their whole relationship would be read as platonic with Alex's beliefs as a focus, not him being potentially in love)

Ghost's most meaningful relationship is with Soap. Soap has changed Ghost's whole MO as a lone wolf, and has challenged his very notion of trust. Ghost tests Soap and is proven wrong when Soap survives despite the odds. We even see them have plausible deniability flirting/snark. They are framed as a unit and on the off times (off of missions in cutscenes), they are always physically together. There's definitely respect between the two, but anything more is undefined/up for interpretation.

By itself, their relationship seems innocuous, but looking at the context we see a very different picture. Context matters heavily in seeing how this relationship has changed Ghost/the importance of it to him. It's assumed that Soap is the first person in god knows how long, that Ghost is emotionally attached to. What constitutes a normal, albeit flirty and snarky, friendly relationship for most, is amplified for Ghost in the glaring fact that he really doesn't do this for anyone else ever. As far as we can tell for a man that appears to live his job, Soap is Ghost's most important person.

We can even arguably say that Ghost and Soap had a flirtier, friendlier, more emotional relationship than Alex and Farah ever had, yet it's assumed (by the male audience) to be completely platonic by virtue of them both being men.

For all those people who argue to stop shipping characters, those same people turn around and are completely implicit in the notion of Alex and Farah being a thing.

It's a really annoying take, because you and I know that it's not the romance they're bothered by. It's the idea of having a character that exemplifies the silent male loner badass archetype as anything but the pinnacle of masculinity. IE, totally and utterly straight.

I feel I could go on about all the ways Ghost surprisingly subverts his archetype, but I'll leave it there. This is prob already too long 😅

But yes, having new cool female characters is always good, but it still wouldn't settle any sexuality debate since they would most likely be written without any hint of romance between the core 141 group and that potential new character. Just like how Farah and Laswell, as you said, have been both removed completely from the romance/sexuality debate, any new female character would also be put under similar framework.

I suppose it would just make them appear more straight (and get rid of all the speculation) if they had a new female character added into 141, but I don't see the point of adding a new character for that sole purpose. And tbh, it would come across as insulting to women if they did for that one reason.

Given how little character development we had in the latest game, I heavily doubt they would introduce new characters at all when they barely showed anything of the current ones we have already. We need more development of the characters we have, adding someone new would arguably take away from building proper relationships/dynamics between the characters we do have currently.

I can't be the only one (as an English-speaking non-Korean) who imagines sex with Namjoon to be especially good because we'd be able to communicate easily and he'd sound hot af talking dirty in English. Hearing him say "I'm gonna cum" in his deep voice would probably send me over the edge.

Personally, I don't care for dirty talk. I feel it is usually forced and unnatural. I know all the lines in porn (probably means I have seen too much, welp); I can always immediately tell when someone is repeating something they heard. I prefer people to say whatever is on their mind, whether or not I perfectly understand. Even if it's funny (keke I've heard some crazy shit), I enjoy laughter so why not? Sometimes I have to keep my composure until the right moment, tho. XD

I think Namjoon has a very sexy voice. I would be fine with him speaking his natural tone in his native Korean. I don't understand a single word and I'd still enjoy it. (I don't understand but I luv u, iykyk!) While language barrier is definitely a hurdle, I think nonverbal communication speaks volumes more.

Side note, I see "I'm gonna cum" not really dirty talk, but maybe a courtesy to announce before you bust a nut into / all over me. If we're only talking from a sexual perspective, the progression feels obvious. Well, I am usually leading, so take that into account too. I would definitely be more careful if I knew there was a language barrier. Use obvious hand gestures, pay extra attention to sounds / body tension / etc (I can't talk with Namjoon's big dick in my mouth anyway), be more inclined to pause if I feel unsure. Someone can say sweet words that on paper sound good, but it's usually the delivery of those words that ignites the emotion. Someone can fumble though their words and make no sense, but you know exactly what they mean when you have context.

From a relationship perspective, of course, this can be a little tough. But many times it has happened when two people that are committed to each other learn each other's languages. I think that's very cool. Also, knowing the words in a language is different from knowing the nuances of a language. Language is a cultural phenomenon. How many times have we discovered that Namjoon's lyrics are actually quite intricate use of the Korean language? There's probably a lot we could never fully comprehend because we don't have the context of being Korean. Being open to these experiences broadens our views of the world and helps us better appreciate our differences. I don't believe we need to assimilate. There is something beautiful about the individual. Well, I would like us to be agreeable to a degree and give up on malicious intent for self-gain, but I'm no Anubis so I won't get into that.

Anyway, in some cases, maybe your partner not knowing perfect English is a plus. Then they can't understand your blog and be traumatized! :D

I will agree with those that say English has a lot of ways to express sex talk more effectively than other languages. For example, I've heard that people who know multiple languages prefer to read fanfics in English because reading in their native language feels awkward. But even native English speakers have a lot of trouble saying what they mean and meaning what they say. In writing and in person. You know what I mean...

Honestly, I think sex with Namjoon would be especially good because he sees sex as a form of unique communication of two bodies that simply cannot be explained in any other way (I am just guessing, I haven't asked him personally lol). Sex is taboo in many cultures because people who don't understand it are afraid of it. People have used sex to manipulate as well as to express their connection to another in profound ways. Keeping sex taboo is also a form of control, as shame and humiliation are tactics of control. That's not what this is about XD but I just wager Namjoon has some personal opinions about that.

I don't think you always need the perfect words to express how you feel. That puts a lot of pressure and stress on yourself. Of course, don't be belligerent! In addition, putting that expectation on someone else is hoping they can read your mind, which no one can. But if someone loves you, they will show you. They will learn about you, study you, do their homework about you. They will take the time to crave out a space in their heart for you. Communication is not only about words - that is only one of the love languages, after all.

Imagine pirate hobie gets hurt next chapter and reader has to get it to where he doesnt bleed out (again) while she has to try and lead the crew with the help of hobies muffled voice and the help of captain anarchy. Hobie is also just tryna comfort her saying she and the crew will be okay and that nothing bad will happen to them as long as he lives. He just gives her comforting soft touches even though hes hurt. He still leads his crew amazingly even if someone or two people else have to give the orders because his voice is a mumbled whisper… inagine he got hurt from protecting reader or like imagine reader falls in the deep sea ans when he tries to get her he gets hurt but he still saves her. He doesnt care how much it takes to he wont let it be like mj. He knows he loves her just as much as he loved mj maybe more, he cant let her die or have another case like this. Besides shes value to him. And reader just helps hobie after he helps her snd feels so guilty he got hurt because she couldnt swim or help herself. Im gonna cry thinking of that, it seems so sad but it seems so sweet. Its so angsty and its gonna make me cry but its so fluff at the same time. But like the trauma and what happens

This is going to sound weird, but do you have any tips on how to gain traction as a fanfic writer? I've been trying for years and I get next to no interaction on my writing. I know I shouldn't care because I should be writing for myself, but it's still frustrating to see other writers get thousands of notes, and reblogs and asks praising their fics and I get maybe 20 likes. I've been looking into discord fandom groups but a lot of them don't allow people over 30, and I don't do well with busy groups anyway. I try to be active on my blog, and interact with other people and make myself approachable, but I'm getting so incredibly tired of talking to an empty space. Sorry, I think I ended up venting instead >_<

WARNING: DISCOURSE AHEAD

Omg hello my love!! First of all, I'm so sorry you feel this way! I have so many conflicting thoughts on this, let me try to get them in order for you!!

I guess, let me first start with some tips that I think actually answer your question, and then I'll just monologue about the ways I've been thinking about fandom recently, and you can skip that part if you wanna!

Part 1: Actual Thoughts on Your Question (lol)

I am possibly not in the best position to ask about this because I mostly happened to be in the right place at the right time, publishing my fics in the early part of the pandemic when people were more actively engaging in the fandom. But in my experience, outside of discord groups, other good ways to meet people and get your work out there are joining zines & collabs.

I'm not completely up-to-date with what the accounts are now that track these things, but there are several tumblrs and twitter accounts like BNHA Zines that exist to retweet & publicize zine posts. Look for zines that are in the interest check & application stages!! You can apply during the application phase and the good thing is that most zines will ask for an application piece and will judge you on your work rather than your follower count!!

Collabs are usually even easier because many of them are just open to whoever wants to join! I've only participated in server collabs but I've seen several posts cross my dash that are open to anyone. I'd probably monitor the collaboration and x reader tags on tumblr and join in on anything that looks fun!!

Another thing that I've noticed people do a lot is self-reblog their fics a couple times just to maximize their circulation. I've seen a lot of moots trying to make sure they hit good hours for different time zones and different days of the week to ensure their followers are at least aware that they've posted something if they don't have notifs on (I don't have notifs on so I'm grateful for these because otherwise I miss a lot!!). Even I have srb'd a time or two if I'm particularly proud of something lol.

And I think, if I also wanted to be a shark about things, I would try to get in on the ground floor of a fandom in its early stages!! For example, the second season of JJK is coming out soon and it's sure to bring a wave of new readers to the JJK fandom, especially for the characters like Gojo and Getou who look like they're gonna be the main focus of the season.

I think if you wanted to be extra sharp about things, you might time a fic release with some of the first couple episodes of a new season where you can be sure more people than usual will be poking around in the tags!! And if your fic is published during the early stages of a fandom, it's going to have more eyes on it overall than a fic published towards the conclusion of the series.

Anyway this is what I could think of. I hope this advice is practical and useful!! Now onto me blathering.

Part 2: Resisting Influencer Culture in Fandom Spaces

This part might be kind of controversial. I want to first acknowledge how easy it is for me to think and say these sorts of things when I'm already more than pleased with the amount of engagement I get. And I want to recognize that it is so, so deeply human to want recognition, community, and support for the things that we write.

I think it is so completely natural that you want interaction on your writing. All of us totally do, otherwise we wouldn't be publishing it publicly. If our work was truly, singularly for us and us alone, we'd keep it in the drafts lol. We put it out there hoping for praise and appreciation and connection, and in my opinion there is no shame in that.

So, admission time: I also definitely compare myself to other writers, and I have several times thought about transitioning more towards the type of content that drives higher note counts on tumblr: smuttier one-shots usually under 10k! I can see a huge difference in terms of just my own work on how my one-shots typically do in comparison to chaptered fics. And I definitely see how fast smutty imagines shoot up there in terms of note count.

But I was listening to a podcast episode recently on trying to sort of transition away from a metrics-focused approach to fandom. In the podcast, they talk about how in trying to legitimize fanfic as a literary mechanism, we've also sort of accidentally subjected it to our capitalist-influencer-mindset, where we see fic as more legitimate the more kudos it gets or the more followers it nets you, because in traditional influencer spaces, those followers are potential capital.

I'm definitely not saying you or I see people as potential revenue streams, but I think probably neither of us are immune to the culture at large, and we both probably carry some of internalized sense of our own value based on metrics, reach, and influence. And that sucks!!!!

Fandom, of all things, is supposed to be a specifically anti-capitalist space. We can't make money off of fanfic or fanart (legally, anyway lol), and we're all not the owners of the franchises either so none of our takes are necessarily more "valid" or weightier than others!! We're all supposed to just be trading stories around a campfire with no thought to their literary merit or monetary value. We're just supposed to enjoy the stories.

So, I don't know what the right answer is about how to try to resist the influences of our capitalist culture at large; I'm hoping someone smarter than me will tell me. But I do know that in fanfic, the value of your story can absolutely never be determined by how much engagement you get. Because fandom is not about metrics, and there is no inherent value in metrics. There is only the fun you had creating the story, and the depth of the connection you made with someone over it--even if that's just one other person.

And so I personally am at least trying to resist the lure of transitioning to smutty one-shots even though I think a lot of people would like that. Because what I like doing is writing my little 30k multi-chaps; those are my fave kinds of stories to tell, I'm not letting my metrics tell me what I should be writing.

I hope, at the very least, you know that your worth and the value of your story is not defined by how many other people have read it. And if you ever wanna chat more about this let me know, I'm still figuring this all out myself and could use friends to explore it with!!

Every time I reset a Pokemon cartridge I designate a 'sacrifice.' That's the single Pokemon that stays in the file when I save over it with my new game. I write down the species, gender, level, and catch location and go back to recapture the same thing in the new file. I can't account for Natures or IVs or anything like that, so sometimes they go through some interesting changes. Hitorigami went from Gentle to Impish, Fujiko went from Calm to Relaxed. This guy? He went from Timid to Serious. I think he's mad.

His name is Edmond, which was the player name of the last file. I also did this with Hanna, from my extra Sapphire cartridge. The intent is to honor the original owner, not to recreate them. I actually know who previously owned Hanna's cartridge and that's not even their name. And they're not a spooky clown. I don't know anything about Edmond, other than what he left in his file:

He completed the game and caught all the legendaries except his Lati, you get to choose which you get in Emerald and his was Latios. Its health was whittled down but I guess he gave up and I had to catch it.

He kept Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza in his party and used them as HM mules, lol. I know a lot of people use legendaries that way but I find it so baffling.

He used his Master Ball on some random Claydol from the Sky Pillar. Must've been a mistake, but he didn't reset.

I think he had like...ONE nicknamed Pokemon, excluding in-game trades. I went ahead and just gave everything random nicknames. His starter (Swampert) got the name 'Edson' because I think starters should retain specialness in some way.

So really, this was a person who cared about playing the game to completion but maybe didn't care about doing things the 'right' way or get a full Pokedex. He didn't transfer everything up to 4th gen before selling his cartridge to the local retro game store. But I can't prove that...maybe the game got lost or stolen, or a relative tossed it into a lot that they pawned off without checking. I'll never know.

I'm taking care of his Pokemon, but I did delete his file. So this new Edmond, he isn't the old Edmond, he can't really know or understand who that was or what it means to carry on his legacy. And I think he's trying to reject the whole concept.

See, you can catch Lotad on route 102 and they're a 20% encounter rate. When I caught him in the old file, he broke like 8 pokeballs for no reason. He was level 3 but resisted capture with his whole little heart. And in the new file, I wanted him to be the first thing I caught (after Blackjack, the new starter), but he just wouldn't show up. It took me two hours to find a lvl 3 male Lotad. I found a bunch of females, and some lvl 4s, I even found a Ralts (4% encounter rate) before he showed up. And when I finally got him he was...SERIOUS. He knows something's wrong and he doesn't like it.

I gave him an outfit that resembles Brendan's Emerald outfit, but with Red's hat and hair because I could convey a Lotad's lilypad and nubby legs better with them. He's a Pokemon gussied up in the clothes of a trainer...which is inherently wrong and perhaps overwhelming for a baby lad like this. Can he fill those shoes? No, I'm in the trainer shoes. But I'm gonna train him good and he's gonna be my lil champion whether he likes it or not.

His Wife and his Watcher :), and now you are gonna make me talk about them :)

This post is a bit longer than usual, so I'm gonna cut it with a "keep reading" thingy.

PK/WL is great not only because it's canon, but because it implies a lot of cute stuff about them. PK before Hallownest was the bug equivalent of a kaiju, and we also know that he is not what you would call a people person, so he probably just roamed the world as a nomad wyrm. Probably lived a more leisurely life too: if someone was causing him problems he could either eat them, roll over them or just go away. 3 easy solutions to most of his problems.

The fact that he ended up married says that he gave all of that away because of his wife. When he decided to stay with the White Lady, he also decided to leave his old body and bachelor lifestyle, lol. Also, when we take into account that they are both immortal beings, it means that they willingly committed to each other for all eternity so they obviously love, respect and trust each other. I see that a lot of people see him as cold and feelingless, but I dunno, he changed a lot just to be with his wife.

With Lurien, it's basically all headcanons, lol. Basically, they met when lurien got (along with other bugs) a job as an advisor or something similar at the White Palace, and Lurien became one of the few that PK actually listened to for advice. This remained the same for some years, totes professional relationship without any romantic interest (yet...). They do become sorta friends, Lurien was the guy that PK tasked to do important stuff that he didn't have time to do because he knew that Lurien would do a good job, so PK ended up talking with him more than most other bugs.

When the City of Tears started to need more direct supervision, he ordered the spire to be built and Lurien became the City Watcher. PK got some extra time to work on other projects now that he didn't have to manage the city, Lurien became the most important mortal bug in Hallownest and got the power to generate real change in the hallownestian society and the common bugs got a new governor that as a mortal, better represented them. Big win for everybody.

The only problem is that they now lived in different places and they started to miss each other friendship. When Lurien started his new job as a watcher, they just communicated through reports and letters. PK missed his friend (probably would not admit it tho), so he started to make excuses to create meetings with him. "I got to review your work", "I've got to check on the city" yeah, right. PK even believed his own excuses.

Over the course of the years, the respect and care towards each other just grew naturally, they got similar personalities but were different enough to make it interesting. Anyways, those professional work meetings slowly became friend visits and eventually, they just started dating without really putting too much attention to it, like, it became common for PK to go visit Lurien at his spire and have a private dinner with him. Later on, they did notice that they had become more than just friends, but to vocalize "hey, we are dating now, right" was not that easy for them, lol. And yeah, they eventually did start dating for realsies.

WL is totally ok with them btw, (an eternal commitment like the one between her and PK needs to have certain perks to work properly), so when she noticed how much her husband cared for Lurien, she wasn't gonna interfere with them and honestly, she probably helped them get together lol.

This is magical girl snufkin. The original transformation I tried to do. Wasn't into winx yet lol. I was, however into sailor moon. This image was traced from a sailor moon chibi artwork. I like the proportions on those artworks. They have a slightly squished normal body and only a slightly large head. I remember first seeing these types of proportions in a "how to draw chibis" book I got from hobby lobby, let my friend borrow, then never saw again.

This transformation was based on the failed sailor moon localization named "Team Angel" which I actually tried to revive around this time. I actually got a comment on one of my recent YouTube videos, someone asked if I was still trying to remake it. I thought nobody actually remembered, or even cared. That was why I stopped in the first place. Crazy, huh? Well anyway, I think I'm gonna start it up again. Before someone else beats me to it.

TLDR; i do recommend getting all three!! because it would essentially be like the price of getting one game (literally the price of dark souls 3 deluxe LMAO [INCLUDING THAT]). and the dark souls games RARELY goes on sale lmao. like it does but its very periodically long sometimes ;-; and i have been waiting a year ish now basically to get them again on my pc to replay!! :3

HERE'S OPTION 1 (IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT): i would say if you have NEVER gotten into the souls like games / soulsborne genre in general (and i'm not just talking about the 3 Dark Souls games) i usually would recommend playing elden ring first! it's not on sale now LMAO like the ds games BUT i feel like most people go for that one as it's the most popular and like it basically got people who have never been into the genre to give it a go and play the other games (like the dark souls games, sekiro, lies of p, bloodborne, etc)!!

most people also like to say elden ring is pretty souls beginner friendly, like kind of just introduces you to it lmao but also meh not really idk. (this is such a fat lie they don't know how much i died to fire giant and radahn /hj :3)

OPTION 2: now if you want to start off and just play the dark souls games and no elden ring, that is also perfect dude! you deadass don't need to play elden ring (LIKE ITS VERY PEAK DONT GET ME WRONG im biased) but ds existed before elden ring obviously so it doesn't matter which you go for first. again i just said elden ring cuz that's the game that gets most people into the genre :3 and its PHENOMENAL and does not disappoint at all

if you want to play dark souls and care about lore / in order; then obviously get dark souls 1: remastered and go from there! even if its old, playing it for the experience goes hard lol. i honestly don't know if you'll like the games so asking you to buy all three of them would be a bit of a risk AND I CARE ABT UR WALLET EVEN THOUGH ITS A HUGE STEAL LMAO

i don't recommend this but if you don't care about lore you can honestly go for dark souls 3 but tbh no lol don't do that KJSDHF i honestly really recommend playing them in order so you build up your understanding for the mechanics and world and difficulty and story and also the graphics!!! etc etc. IT WILL MAKE SM SENSE DOING IT THIS WAY even if they are so mid in the first one (obviously cuz its old even if its remastered) AND IT DOES GET MUCHHH BETTER i promise.
