Saving Batboy
First | Previous | Next
It was as though he was being led through the city. Dick seemed to know exactly where he should go next as he drove.
Dick turned off his location as he closed in on Joker's location. If anyone had doubts about what would happen tonight they knew now. The clown dies tonight.
Batman never did it because he knew there would be no coming back once he crossed that line but he was not Batman.
Tim knew the moment Nightwing's symbol disappeared that he had found Joker's location. He knew he could track him still based on where he was before but he held off. The last time Dick crossed the line and killed the Joker, Tim was there to stop him. In the time since Tim had grown to regret it. Especially after Jason's return. He should be avenged after everything that happened.
Tim never put much thought into what happened when he was kidnapped just like Danny. Joker Jr was just a nightmare and everyone pretends it didn't happen. His past self doesn't exist to him and the gaps in his memory are better as they are.
If Dick was really going to finish this then Tim wasn't going to stop him. Bruce's code was his code alone. What of the Robins that suffer for it? What about his kids that he loves to the point of self-destruction if they die?
It was clear to Tim now. Batman isn't strong enough to kill Joker. If he can't handle it, someone else would.
Maybe Dick just cared more. Or maybe he had seen this happen too many times to sit by and let it happen again. The cost be damned.
Tim took a deep breath. He knew it was a bad move but he shut down the bat computer. No one could locate each other for the next 10 minutes. Enough time to give Dick the lead he really needs. All the comms are down and no information can be shared.
Tim looked up and saw Alfred putting down a cup of tea for him. Tim felt like a child caught doing something wrong under Alfred. But Alfred nodded wordlessly before turning to leave. He cast a forlorn glance at Jason's robin uniform before ascending the stairs.
****
"I was hoping Batman would come for the little bat. Oh sorry, I mean the boy." Joker mocked holding Danny by the back of the neck.
The teen's body was limp. His silver locks stained a rusty brown from dried blood. Blood covered his back and legs. If there had been any doubt if the wings were real there is none now.
"…" Nightwingwing said nothing. His fist clenched.
"You know I debated skinning him next. That fur of his would be a lovely shawl. It's so soft. But it looks like I won't have the time now." Joker provoked, running a hand through the boy's white neck fur.
"Get your hands off him." Nightwing demanded, his eyes locked on Danny for any signs of life.
"You know I am so curious what he was doing here. I was about to build a new trap here for fun when I stumbled upon this little guy here. Practically gift-wrapped. Did he run away from you? Just like you did from good ol'papa bat." Joker's smile widened sickeningly "This all feels so familiar, doesn't it little bird? Are you going to finish what you started?"
"I'm never letting you hurt my family again." No witty one-liners. No games. This bad joke ends today.
****
Batman had scoured the area. He memorize the last location Dick was before the system went down. He wasn't these kids' father for nothing he knew what they were doing.
When sound came back he had already made it to the abandoned factory. The comms rang back to life as the sounds of crying came through.
"Nononono…please no. Wake up. Please wake up." It was Dick's voice. "It's okay. I'm here now. So just wake up. We need to get home soon. Your favorite show will be on soon. WAKE UP! YOU CAN'T DIE!"
Batman bolted to their location and found Dick hovering over Danny trying to resuscitate him.
His son looked at him with pleading eyes.
"I can't hear his heart. He's not breathing." He let out a shaky breath. As distressed tears ran down his cheeks.
Bruce knelt next to them. Danny didn't react to the pressure on his chest. The pain should have at least caused an involuntary jerk if he wasn't too far gone.
Bruce signaled Dick to move back as he checked Danny's pulse again. Nothing. And he wasn't breathing. Bruce looked at his son. Deep down Dick probably knew.
"I'm sorry. He's gone." Bruce said simply as he took off his cloak.
Danny looked so peaceful. Like he was sleeping soundly. Bruce hated that his own suspension had been the thing that had prevented him from having a relationship with his own grandson. He felt foolish to not realize that of course Danny and Batboy were the same. It was a brilliant disguise. But he'd never get to say this to the boy.
Bruce wrapped the boy in his cloak.
"Come on. We'll fix this." He told Dick, carrying Danny for him.
The journey back to the manor was silent until.
"I'm sorry." Bruce said.
"Don't. Just Don't. He's my son. Its my fault." Dick rasped his voice scratchy from crying.
Bruce felt a bitter sting. That was exactly what he felt when he lost Jason and what happened with Tim. When Damian lost his life. These pains didn't go away.
When they arrived back in the Batcave Bruce laid Danny's body on the table. The others were notified about what happened and had already gathered.
Barbara looked like she had bawled her eyes out as she hugged Stephanie.
Damian had pressed himself close to Tim as the older brother told him that it was going to be okay.
The new hole in the wall was clearly Jason if his bloodied knuckles were any clues.
Cassandra paced the floor deep in thought. She was moments away from starting a new crusade.
Duke stared off into the distance. His anger boiling under the surface. All he could think about was the number of lives ruined by the Joker and even in death he took another.
Dick stood still as a statue. Thinking about if Danny could be brought back and even if he was his wings were gone. What if he was gone for good? Could he live like that?
Never had he understood Bruce more than in that moment.
Bruce braced himself for what would come next. He had a plan to bring Danny back at any cost.
But suddenly a sound broke through the tension.
A sneeze.
A fucking sneeze.
It came up from under the cloak.
Everyone snapped to look at the body hidden under the cloak. It shifted under the heavy black blanket groggily and yawned. Then Danny jumped up twisting to feel his back.
"What happened!!" He yelped.

Ari- Baby is sick for the first time
Ari Levinson x best friend!reader (now fiancé)
New Parent Panic, a Bedrock and Blueprints tale
Warnings for protective!Ari, Ari not communicating, you doing the same, and then everyone gets their shit together and it's fluff. WC 2k *Off in the distance an ol' timey man pops up: "An argument, you say? You wrote an argument?? How different from your usual!!" Ha-ha. Yeah. We get it. Ro's the same hoe as last year... **I am not a mother. I know what would reasonably be categorized as zilch about babies. I have, however, seen this overwhelmed and guilty behavior from several of my peeps as they raise their youngins, so that's good enough for me. You're doing fine. I promise.
Sure, there was the rather severe diaper rash incident, and the time when nursing her turned your nipples into raw portals for a newly-discovered circle of hell, but nothing could have prepared you for this day.
Rachel was...meh this morning when Ari left for work. A little whiny, not sleeping well, but she's an infant; that's not new. Overall, she's actually been a very straight-forward baby.
And then you don't know what happened.
You napped very hard until noon (after only a moderately successful feeding) and by then Rach had a fever.
You called the nurses' hotline. You gave her the dose of baby meds. You're trying to keep her hydrated, at least, if she can't be happy right now. You just have to stay vigilant and wait it out.
But that's not easy.
She's crying and won't sleep, she'll barely eat, and you don't have a separate car. You only want to call Ari if it's to say "we need to take her to a doctor." You're not there yet.
So you do the shittiest feeling thing you can think of, the most painful thing, and you wait.
You don't sleep. You barely eat. You take Rachel's temperature like you are monitoring the possible meltdown of a nuclear reactor. One wiggle of a degree in the wrong direction, and that Bat Signal is going on.
I can do this, you tell yourself. I've wanted to be a mom for a long time, so I can do this.
Except you don't sleep and barely eat.
Ari arrives home precisely when he said he would, the exact number of minutes (after work shuts down for the day) that it takes to drive to the house, predictable, dependable, and utterly useless when he opens the door and asks "why is she crying?"
"Because she hates me," you blubber, holding her to your chest, arms cramped from cradling her for so many hours at this point.
"She need meds?"
Of course, I gave her the fucking meds.
"Hungry?"
No, asshole, I purposefully starved your fucking child for my own amusement.
"Calm down," Ari snips back. "I'm just trying to help."
Well then fucking help me!
By now, you likely look as if you're in a war zone: disheveled, manic, and possibly--definitely--hostile.
"Okay, okay, let me just take a piss and then I'll hold her."
"Yeah, of course. Whatever you want. Whatever you need." You turn your back to him before grumbling, "not like I haven't had to hold it all afternoon..."
Ari's still-booted feet land heavily beside you again. "Then I'll take her now," he grits through clenched teeth, "and you can use the bathroom."
"No. I already have her."
"Fine. I'll be right back."
"Take your time."
The way you lace the words with a sickly sweet melody has Ari spinning on a heel and staring at you through his long eyelashes, a tick in his jaw stopping him from saying something he might regret.
"Kid," he finally sighs, "just tell me what you want me to do, and I'll do it."
He runs a hand over his beard while he waits for your answer. A few seconds later, his hip juts out, arms akimbo, and he bites his bottom lip expectantly.
You just walk off toward your phone on the kitchen counter and call the nurse hotline back.
"I swear, woman," he mutters as you leave, but you're glad he can't hear you sniffle back a sob.
It should be reassuring that the nurse has no new advice for what to do. You're doing everything correctly. You're doing all you can. Don't worry. Keep checking her temp and giving her whatever fluids she'll take. That's all for now.
It doesn't feel like enough. It doesn't feel like all a mother can do.
Ari? Ari waltzes up to the fridge and cracks himself open a beer.
You don't even have words, only flaming hot vibes that will melt his face like a Spielberg movie--you have got to stop watching movie marathons during late-night breast-feeding--if you stare hard enough at his casual blue gaze.
"So," he begins, "you figure out what I gotta do?"
What had been steady whimpering from Rachel has amplified into wails that bring tears to both hers and your eyes.
They just fall down your cheeks, and you wipe them from your chin before they can fall onto your screaming child.
Ari's judging frown makes your stomach turn while he steps closer, bends at the knees, and takes his little girl in hand.
Less than a minute later, Rachel stops, and you just cannot fucking handle it. The only quiet moment you've had in six and a half hours he gets to enjoy moments after coming home.
That's not fair. Cure fucking cancer already, Levinson, and save us the goddamn grief!
The tears and the tired are choking you.
Ari tells you to go freshen up in the bathroom, but that is the most horribly wrong way to say anything to you, ever, in a moment like this.
You stomp out the front door, rip open the sliding back door of the SUV, and crawl onto the cab floor. Once the latch clicks behind you, face buried in the blanket kept on Rachel's car seat, you scream.
You whimper and you cry and you get your fucking time to be angry at all your feelings today because it's bullshit.
You didn't take your own temperature. You didn't get rest and drink plenty of fluids. You didn't take any medicine. All you keep going over in your mind is whether or not you were sick first. Did you have something you gave to your daughter? Is this your fault?
So the tears and the choking continue for...as long as they take.
You don't know how much time has passed before the car door is yanked open again. Thank the stars you are facing away. You can't look at Ari right now.
"Is she okay?" you ask with a watery voice.
His big, warm hand rubs across your back, making you sink further into the upholstery.
"Took a few ounces of a bottle and went down in her bunk."
Ari likes to call Rachel a part of his 'squad,' so he talks to your infant daughter like they're going on 'missions' to the store or getting a bottle from the 'mess.' Your bedroom has thus become the 'barracks.'
Sometimes, he holds her sitting up against his chest and uses her feet to 'march' the pair of them across the house.
Left. Left. Left right left.
And almost always, there's a giggle, too.
"Up you go, kid," Ari huffs, maneuvering you into his arms.
"No," you whine, so tired you can't tell what it is you don't want.
He just keeps saying, "I know. I know," until he's carried you inside.
Instead of taking you to the couch or the bed, Ari sits you both down in the front hall, balancing you on his lap while he loosens his boot laces and finally kicks the sturdy shoes off, placing them on the mat a couple feet away.
He presses his lips to your temple, rough beard gently scrubbing over your eyelid and cheek.
"How many times I gotta tell ya to call me?" he whispers. He doesn't expect to have this same argument again, not like this, but his point still stands. "You know, you're warm, too."
If it's another question, you don't answer that either. You change the subject.
"Did you take her temp?"
He nods, and the number he tells you is the same as it was thirty minutes ago, or rather, thirty minutes before he came home.
Ari squeezes you tighter. "You want to get into bed, and I'll bring your some juice and meds, huh? Meet you in there?"
"I'm a bad mom," you breathe.
"What?" He pulls away, smacking his head on the wall behind him. "What are you talking about?"
How are there more tears left in your body? You should be nothing but a shriveled husk at this rate.
"Bullshit," he practically seethes. "Don't you ever say that again."
"I shouldn't have--"
"Stop."
"--you were--"
"Stop it," he blurts, firm and serious.
"But I'm the one who wanted this, Ari!" Your most powerful voice only comes out as high whisper. "Me. I wanted kids. This whole time. I bitched about how Joanna's done, and I thought I could just--" you swing an arm out dramatically "--and I suck at it. Rach even likes you better!"
"No, kid. She was exhausted. I only got here at the right time."
"It's 'cause your comfy and you smell good--"
"--not sure about that--"
"--and she loves you," you bemoan.
Ari snorts out a laugh.
"She loves you, too. You're her mom." He tucks you in closer, soothing you with petting hands wherever he can reach. "I love you. So much. So, so much."
He finds your hand and the sapphire ring he put on it, spinning it gently on your finger. He hasn't gotten to make good on his promise. Planning a wedding, even a small one, with a newborn is almost impossible, but that seems to be part of the problem.
Anything to do with you or you two feels selfish when there's three. Guilt grips you when you stop to daydream about your big day because it's not about Rachel. She's the most important thing. She will trump you forever as the single most--
"Can I tell you a secret?" Ari's timbre rattles close to your ear. "You're my favorite."
You slump into his chest until your forehead braces his throat.
"Almost not fair, really," he drawls. "You've got a decade of brownie points, and she's managed to make me buy more pads for her than I've had to for y--"
You pinch at his side harshly, biting back a smile, the salt from dried tears on your lips flooding your mouth.
"Oh! And you can control your bladder for a whole day, which is downright impressive wh--hey now--" Ari scuttles on the floor to evade your attack on his ribs. "I'm just...being...honest," he chuckles.
"You're a jerk is what you are, old man."
He easily grabs both your arms and pins them together in front of him.
"Yeah, but I'm your jerk. Your old man, kid. I'm yours, okay? You are not alone here. You don't have to know how to do everything by yourself." He lowers his voice as well as his face to yours. "And you mean just as much to me as that little girl in there. You hear me?"
There's a different lump of emotion lodged deep in your chest. You only nod because you can't speak.
He makes your foreheads meet.
"Please be okay. I could never do this without you. Any of it..."
That's when you realize what bothers you so much: Ari should need you to raise Rachel, but you never truly acknowledged you might need him to raise her, too.
This enormous weight of clutching every thread of life in your own two hands isn't real. You can share. You are meant to share your life with Ari. Ari is meant to share his life with you. Rachel shares life with you both, as she is meant to share with everyone around her. It's a lesson she has the opportunity to learn a lot younger than you, apparently.
He gets you to drink a whole bottle of water. He brings you some food and medicine while he handles some laundry and cleans out the day's bottles. He leads you with both hands to the bathroom, finally, and then gets you settled in bed.
As you fall asleep, you watch Ari take Rach's temperature again.
He lets out a silent cheer and holds his hand over her.
"High five?" he whispers. "No? It's fine. We'll work on that."
The last thing you see is Ari playfully lifting her from the basinet, sneaking out to the living room to enjoy a movie marathon, just for a little bit, snuggling together while he winds down for the night.
All that matters is she's safe and happy.
That, and of course, waking up in Ari's arms, listening to his slow breathing and Rachel's faster, baby huffs. You can handle anything because you made it through today and you have them.

First time I've ever even uploaded on here - if u wanna see my story on ao3 just ask 🤍
College au, slight inexperienced reader, use of aphrodisiac, roofie, sex, Michael being hot asf
Not t proofread so sorry about spelling/ grammar errors.
- Michael afton - MichaelxF!reader
Part 2
How had you gotten into this position with your 'friend with benefits' ?
Well let's begin from the start.
You're in your first year of college and living on campus has quite a lot of benefits, such as parties. You and everyone else on campus were the first to know.
Frat boys blasting music throughout the campus open grounds whilst inviting basically everyone to their house party downtown, so by the end of the week it wasn't a surprise that everyone was talking about it.
So you weren't surprised when your friends came bursting in your room, annoying you with the usual "let's go shopping!" pleas.
Eventually you caved in and despite knowing it'll hurt your financial pocket, you decided it'd also get your mind off the sudden and forced adjustment to your new schedule and upcoming tests.
Also because your friends told you a certain Afton boy would be attending the party as well.
After spending hours in the mall, mainly because of your friends taking time trying on new dresses, you decided to go with a tight denim skirt and a tight white sleeveless sweetheart top. The blue and white combo never really failed.
.⋆。⋆☂˚。⋆。˚☽˚。⋆.
You'd be lying if you didn't say you regretted coming. Only a bit. Your heels were basically killing your ankles and the skirt seemed to lose a few inches in length, making it raise up slightly if you tried bending slightly, basically giving anyone a free show when you wanted to sit down on a couch.
The second worse thing was your girlfriends ditching you. Their boyfriends and crushes showed up shortly after your arrival and they immediately went into different rooms with them, meaning they were either fucking of getting drunk somewhere.
And the last was David. One of your girlfriends boyfriends friends. He had always shown interest to you. Even when you purposely act dry to get him off your back. Despite him being somewhat your type, his personality cut him down to size. He was the stereotypical rich frat boy who loved sports and hooking up with any girl who batted their lashes and rubbed their ass in his face. He wasn't going to be your next boyfriend. That's good certain.
"hey, earth to y/n-" David called out to you, waving a hand in front of your face.
"oh. Sorry. Zoned out for a second there." You mumbled, looking into your glass that contained a light purple liquid.
You didn't even know what it was since you weren't that big on alcohol at all, leaving David to get one for you.
"Was asking you about your course." He smiled, taking a sip from his beer.
You shrugged, already bored of the topic. You came here to have fun, not sit here with a guy you're barely interested in and talk about school.
You raised the glass to your lips and downed all the contents, the sweet drink lightly burning the back of your throat.
"It's alright but I'd rather not talk about it. Wanna dance?"
Before he could even answer, you had pushed your empty glass into his hand and off the couch and walking to the main floor, deliberately sliding into the crowd in hopes of losing him.
Luckily, fate was on your side because after checking for David, you realized he hadn't followed you.
Instead of dancing like your original plan was, you decided to take a quick look around for Michael. Sadly, he wasn't anywhere to be seen.
'I swear if Lorie lied to me about Michael-'
"y/n!"
You wanted to kill yourself.
"David! There you are. Why didn't you keep up with me?" You asked, a fake smile being plastered on your lips.
"sorry. Just had a hard time finding you." He sighed, his eyes scanning over me and resting at my revealed cleavage.
Boys.
"You wanna dance now?"
Was there really no escaping him?
"sorry. I'm feeling just a bit tired now."
David frowned slightly but decided to throw an arm around my shoulder, making me tense up.
"you wanna go upstairs? Or I can take you back to campus."
You shook your head, awkwardly trying to get away from him but David wouldn't let you go.
"Maybe another drink will let you relax?"
You nodded and thankfully David let go, allowing you to breathe something other than his intoxicating cologne.
You watched him walk into the kitchen before quickly pulling your phone out of your purse.
You dialed Lorie - your closest friend out of the group.
To your surprise she picked up almost straight away.
"Lorie ?"
Instead of Lorie's voice you heard her boyfriend - Gavin.
"y/n?"
"where's Lorie?"
"She's taking a shower, we went back to her place. Everything good?"
You mentally cursed yourself for thinking this whole thing was a good idaa
Last time your friends use Michael to bribe you.
"it's fine. Just wanted to... check-up on her. Have a nice night." You awkwardly lied, ending the call after.
Before you could think of calling any other friends, David was by your side, pushing another drink into your hands.
"enjoy."
You nodded and quickly took a few sips, a weird and slightly saltier taste coming from the drink.
After finishing your drink and forcing yourself through awkward talk with David, you looked over the crowd again.
He should be here..
"Who you looking for?" David asked.
"oh....uhm. My friends told me that Michael would be here." You admitted guiltily, downing the rest of the drink.
You weren't even leading him on so why did you feel slightly ashamed?
David nodded before his face turned to one of recognition.
"why didn't you say so? When you disappeared I ran into him. He was kinda tipsy so he must've gone upstairs to rest-"
"really? Can you take me?" You asked, ignoring the sudden warm feeling in your stomach.
His brow furrowed but he just nodded.
David lead you through the crowd, his hand around you wrist in a firm hold. You both got upstairs, passing by multiple drunk students before you got to an empty room.
"where's Michael?" You asked, massaging your aching temple. You had only had two drinks. Why was your head pounding?
David just laughed, closing the door behind you both before turning on the lights, allowing you to see that there really wasn't anyone there.
"Michael isn't here princess."
You turned around quickly to see David in front of you, an annoyed look on his face.
"Had to admit. Didn't know Michael already got to you first but...I guess I don't mind taking Afton's sloppy seconds." He sighed, shrugging off his jacket.
Your heart began to pound harder, beads of sweat forming at your brow.
"what're you talking about?"
David laughed once more.
"what? You really believed my whole lie? Jeez I guess little sluts like you really are stupid.
You narrowed your eyes at him before trying to leave the room, only to be pushed back by David.
"Sorry princess. Can't let you leave. Besides, we don't want that aphrodisiac to waste."
You were about to question it but then you suddenly linked everything.
The drink
David grabbed your arm and without thinking twice, you launched your leg against his crotch, making him practically scream in pain before falling to the ground, allowing you to run out of the room. You glanced back and while doing so, you bumped into someone.
And that someone was no other than Michael Afton himself.
Your arms immediately went around his waist, hugging him tight.
"Michael! Oh my gosh. I thought you weren't here."
Michael was shocked at the suddenness of it all but wrapped his arms around your shaking frame.
"what's wrong, love?"
Your throat went dry, eyes glassing over as you glanced over at the open door.
"let's go. Please."
Michael seemed confused and was about to go over to the room but you knew if he knew what happened he'd cause a scene. A loud and violent one. Even though nothing would be more satisfying than seeing David get what he deserves, you were still in pain and frustration from the drug David had put in your drink.
"Please. Just drop it for now. Let's go to my dorm."
Michael was about to ask more questions but he saw how persistent you were and decided to drop it. For now. He'd get the information off of you sooner or later.
So now you were sat on your bed, makeup wipes in hand whilst you cleaned off all the contents, Michael sat besides you patiently.
Once you had finished Michael glanced at you before taking a deep breath.
"you ready?"
You nodded slightly before spilling everything. How you were trying to shrug David off all night which resulted in him drugging you and taking you to that room.
After you finished, you saw Michael's expression. Mad. Maybe even more than mad. He looked like he wanted to kill David and you were scared of it actually happening.
Michael's eyes met yours and one look at your teary eyes was enough to make him thaw.
"I'm sorry, baby....if I was there."
He trailed off and instead took you into his arms. Unfortunately, that made your situation no better, your body heating up at an alarming rate as the effects of the aphrodisiac began to settle in.
"Michael.." you mumbled. "I need your help."
Michael let go of you, allowing you to kick off your heels and push yourself onto the middle of the bed, your legs slightly spreading in shame.
"please.."
He blinked a couple times before slightly chuckling.
"are you sure...this is ok?" He asked, running a hand up the front of your calf.
Your breath hitched.
"Yes. Please do something."
Michael seemed slightly reluctant. He didn't want to take advantage of you in anyway but seeing you laid on the bed just for him had his mind whirring, especially since you both hadn't fucked in a long time.
Which was Michael's exaggerated way of saying a week.
He climbed on top of you, sparing no more time. His hands tore down your top, moving to attack your skirt, throwing your clothes over his shoulder. His eyes locked onto your chest before a smug grin appeared on his face.
"no bra, hm? Naughty girl."
You moaned once his mouth attached to your nipple, one of his hands kneading your breast whilst his unoccupied one moved to pull off your underwear.
You aided him in his task, kicking off your panties once they got to ankle level. This only made Michael's smirk grow.
"You want my cock that bad, huh?" He questioned after moving away from your breasts.
You nodded, brows knitted together whilst you rolled you hips up slightly.
"I need you right now Michael-" you begged, hands going between your legs.
You were drenched.
He sighed, clicking his tongue after.
He moved away from you and spread your legs, impatiently taking off his shirt and belt after, allowing you to get the golden view of Michael's slender but well built chest.
"Since you want it that bad..." Michael hummed, pulling down his jeans and boxers. "I'll give it to you.
Your eyes locked on his semi hard cock that had the slightest ooze of precum coming from the tip.
You whimpered at the sight. Michael was big, no doubt about it. His length and girth alone was enough to take away your confidence. How the fuck were you gonna be able to do this without any prep?
"Don't tap put on me now." Michael noted, his hand moving to give himself a few pumps, his dick twitching in response.
"I'm not-" You defended, eyes never leaving his dick.
Michael laughed in response before spreading your legs wider.
"we'll see, princess."
Michael wasted no time. His tip collecting your arousal before pushing against your entrance, a sharp stretch coming from deep within that had you wanting to run away, Michael's strong hold on your hips being the only thing that kept you in place.
His sudden intrusion had your eyes rolling back, incoherent whimpers already leaving your mouth.
"Don't tell me you already came, love?" Michael taunted, groaning at the way you sucked him in greedily.
"fuck- Michael-" you hissed, your stomach convulsing with every inch he fed you.
"shit- Knew this pussy loved my cock. Can't get enough, can it-?" He groaned harder, his grip tightening with every squeeze your walls gave him. You'll definitely need a massage after. "Haven't even started fucking you and you already came."
Your breaths became shallow once Michael pulled out, his tip just appearing before he bottomed out inside of you again.
You cursed, head falling against your plush pillows whilst Michael bullied his cock along your walls, grunts leaving his lips whilst his hips became almost feral, causing more tears to fall from your eyes.
"you love it, don't you princess?" He moaned, mind clouding over at the way your pussy gushed around him. "Love the way I fuck you."
You closed your eyes, gripping his arm tightly whilst another orgasm sped through you.
"Yea, Michael - Shit-" You clamped harder on his arm once he hit that spongy spot deep inside you, pushing you over the edge completely, your walls squeezing him tightly again.
Michael laughed slightly before moaning, watching the way his dick disappeared inside you, a white ring coating the base of his dick. You whined at the feeling of being overstimulated but tried to push it aside as your pussy twitched for more.
"shit, Princess. This tight pussy's gonna. Make me-"
Michael slowed his movements, shallow groans and curses being murmured whilst his hands moved to squeeze your breasts.
"fuck, princess. Gonna cum-" he warned, hips picking up speed. "Where do you want it?"
"inside, please! Give it to me-"
Your moans and legs locking around his hips were all Michael needed as confirmation, he pushed deeper into you, his hard thrusts never giving up as he chased his orgasm.
Soon enough, you heard those familiar grunts that you loved and it wasn't long before Michael's lips met yours, just as spurts of his cum spilled into you, silencing both of your moans.
Michael broke the kiss, resting his head against your neck whilst you both took deep breaths. After a while, he moved off of you, pulling out of your sore hole. The feeling of his seed pouring out made you shiver.
Your eyes fluttered, sleep wanting to cover over you but Michael had other plans, pushing his dick back into your entrance.
You grunted in surprise, your eyes suddenly locking his.
"Michael-" you whimpered, trying to move away from him. "Too much-"
Just one more round baby. Got my cock so hard just looking at my cum come outta this cute little pussy. Besides...you need a new load down here." He groaned, hips already thrusting in and out of you.
You whimpered, nodding slightly in response as hot pleasure gathered in the pit of your stomach again.
Michael had such a weird effect on you. Even though your relationship was strictly just sex and being friends, you'd do basically anything you asked, as did he.
Michael gave a direct thrust that hit your sweet spot, taking you away from your thoughts.
"cmon, baby. Focus on me."
You nodded, blinking away tears that began to form, your hands moving to hold his. He reciprocated your gesture, his palm covering yours as his thrusts met his former feral pace, his hand moving down to touch your clit. The mix of his hard thrusts and attention to your clit had you seeing stars, another orgasm creeping up on you.
"Michael!" You mewled. "Gon- gonna cummm ohh fuckk"
"That's right, love. Cum on my cock-"
He didn't have to tell you twice. You came hard around him, eyes rolling back as he fucked you through your high.
Your pussy squeezing around him was all the stimulation Michael needed for him to cum again, his seed shooting deep inside you.
Both of your bodies shook against each other as the pleasure slowly washed through you. Michael got himself together and pulled out of you, fingers pushing his cum back inside.
"Guess this calls for plan b, hmm?"
You nodded.
As much as you loved the feeling and experience of Michael filling you to the brim with his cum, both of you didn't plan on having kids at all anytime soon.
"I'll get you some in the morning," Michael yawned slightly, moving off the bed.
"let's get you cleaned up."
The rest of the night was Michael helping you in the shower and giving you a massage, paying extra attention to your hips that were becoming a deep purple, tucking you both into bed after and making sure to give you much deserved cuddles.
Despite your situationship with Michael being quite confusing and frustrating at times, these were the moments both of you could appreciate.

•TRAPPED IN HER BASEMENT 2• category punishment/care
Recap so last time you woke up in nancys basement was realized what was happening. Don't worry this time you will fight back btw.
Nancy fucking wheeler!
My heart dropped as she opened the door and the step creaked as we met eyes, keys dangled from her hand as she smiled brightly at me "seems this is your lucky day, I need you upstairs instead of down here tonight because of your little cuts." I swolled a huge glob a spit as she unlocked me from my cage. "Why did you kidnap me?" I asked once more as she pulled me up the step in down into a living room.
"I will tell you due to time y/n for now stay still while I wrap you up." I looked around the living room as I got and idea. "Here we are" I held out my hand but quickly kicked her at the same time. And grabbed the vase the sat proudly on the table.
"Fuck off wheeler!" I yelled smashing the vace onto the back of her head the glass shattered as it cut through her marble skin. I made run for it "shit!" I fell to my knees stopping myself with a huge peace of glass slowly bleeding out.
"Well this is unfortunate isn't it?"
I looked down the barrel of a decent sized hand gun. "Put the vase down y/n. Or you'll make things worse than it already is." I let out a breath as I dropped the glass and placed my hands up. "Nancy i-" She grabbed a fist full of hair and dragged me back towards the basement kicking and screaming "fuck! I'm sorry i-i nancy!" Falling down the stairs my head hit the cold concrete floor. I groaned as everything was in a daze. "N-nancy?" Your body was being pulled in a certain direction.
The smell of metal was all to familiar "n-no please I'm sorry i" your hand was now locked but pu kicked her leg "shit y/n, stop fighting me your making your punishment worse." I cried as I pushed her away "please, please let me go! I wanna go home pl-please..." A slap landed against your face.
Silence filled the room as she tied your legs down and your other hand and turned the light back on. "Stay here while I clean up and think about what the hell you just did." Her voice was hard..filled with such hate and venom that you'd think you wouldn't hear. Not from the sweet sweet Nancy wheeler.
But then again she did hold a gun to your head.
You stare at the little cracks on the floor watching as dust slowly fell from the roof and gathered in the cracks. The door opened again but you didn't bat an eye. "Come here." She said softly whipping off blood from earlier. Your teary eyes still shines in the light "come on let's get this off you."
...
Your clothes where stripped off leaving you in your bra. "M'sorry" you mumbled as she stripped the rest of your clothes off and set up a bath for you. She let's out a sigh "it's fine just know this is a warning try something again, I 'WILL' make you regret it. Now get in this should help with the bruises." You slowly sink into the over heating water which burns the cuts. I guess it was little punishment in itself. "Let me help you" She ordered pulling up her sleeves you hadn't noticed this before but she changed from her dressing a white button up shirt and gray suit pants with a black belt to hold it steady.
If you do say so yourself she was very attractive. As she put up her hair.
And started to scrub away at your hair. Closing my eyes I let her take control of my body as she cleaned every part, some burned some felt amazing...more amazing than others. Actually you don't remember the last time you've gotten layed. I let out a content sigh as my kidnapper pressed kissed along my neck line.
Even fiddled with your ass and tits for a bit. You whined as shit kissed a particular spot you liked. She giggled in your ear sending butterflys down to your stomach.
...
As you stepped out she whipped off the water from your body And hair. "Sleepy?" She questioned as you yawned laying your head on her shoulder. You nodded letting her lead you out the bathroom and onto an actual comfortable bed.
"Goodnight baby"

She didn't want to argue with him, she knew that much. The last thing she wanted to do was argue with Angelo, it'd end up messy and she'd regret it and part of her already was because he'd just made it so clear that he'd have torn them all apart if she simply asked. If they really tried to tear her apart he'd do so back in tenfold. She manoeuvred the crowd, completely unaware of the eyes following her.. Adelaide gave glances but from the dark corners, Barlow watched her, moved in peoples shadows to see where she was going but Eden's mind was scrambled, and in that room of crowded people how was she meant to know she was being followed?
Money could get you so much, so Barlowe, against Eden's knowledge tipped one of the waiters carrying the elegant champagne trays around to take her the singular glass left free on that tray, though as he was tucked the money into the waiters jacket pocket, he'd slipped a powder into that glass and nobody around him batted an eyelid about it, all too busy discussing their business and affairs to care for idle chit chat like that. She thought the waiter was being kind coming over to her and kneeling down slightly so she could take the drink, she even thanked them with such a charming smile, a smile that made Barlowe's blood boil, everything about her made his blood boil because she'd rejected his advances so many times and yet ended up on Angelo's arm without a problem. The difference was she liked Angelo, she would forever hate Barlowe.
She manoeuvred the crowd again, sipping at the drink progressively until she found the bathroom, it was out of the way a little away from the bustle and business of that room. She'd had maybe half a glass of champagne by the time she came out of the bathroom, refreshed, her hair back in place but that wouldn't be for long. Barlowe clamped his hand around Edens wrist, pulled her to a quiet corner harshly and pushed her against the wall. She spilled a little of the drink on herself, on her dress, just a splash. "Keep your fucking mouth shut or I'll squeeze your neck into silence, got it?" he hissed at her, his free hand hovering at her throat. He was already gritting his teeth. "Get off of me- get off or-" he scoffed loudly. "Or what Eden? You're going to shout for your lovely Angelo to come rescue you?" his brows raised down at her. "He's who you got the fucking money off to pay me? I'd have treated you so good but you'd rather a guy like him? I'm fucking insulted Eden. Do you know how I feel when I'm insulted? You need to make it up to me." he growled in her ear and she tried to fight him by pushing back with the wrist he had gripped be squeezed harder. "I don't need to do anything you're-" she set her frown. Angelo would be furious but she needed to get to him. Alone, like this? It scared her. "You're hurting me. Get off of me. He isn't a coward he'll make an example out of you for this." He twisted at her wrist to get her to contort to his desire, his whim. He knew he was bigger and stronger than her, but he wanted to make her feel small. "Will he? And where is he to protect you? I'd never leave you alone like that, now be a good girl, drink your drink and keep that pretty little mouth fucking shut. You always belonged to me." No, she didn't. Eden didn't even think about the drink comment, but she did think about how to get out of this situation quickly.
She took a small swig of the champagne again, her eyes studying him. "There, you can be a good girl, for me. Now.." he released some of the grip on her wrist, that was what she'd been waiting for. "How are you going to make up hurting my feelings Eden?" his smirk had grown and she faked the most coy smile ever as she took another swig, this one she didn't swallow, this one she spat into his face before throwing the glass into the hallway, hard enough that it'd shatter and of course, draw attention. Barlowe had recoiled back when she spat her drink in his face, fury burning on his features but staff had come rushing to sort the mess she'd created. He couldn't do anything in front of them, they'd talk. "You fucking bitch you're going to regret that!" he seethed, his hands flexing into fists. "Don't ever lay a hand on me again." she hissed back at him and shoulder shoved past him. Truthfully her heart was beyond racing, her hands were shaking and she was terrified he might follow her again. Where was Angelo? She had to find Angelo and.. had it always been so hot in here? She wanted to find him and say sorry, that she was sorry for acting out of turn, she wanted to feel safe beside him and.. focus Eden.
---
Outside Hale had continued talking, but his topic of conversation was clearly picked. "I'm glad to hear about the business, you deserve it going well but it does not explain landing a lady like her. That's not experience, no way." he laughed, scoffed about it, swirled his martini nonchalantly. "What's the deal Angelo, is she some sort of bargain?" he quirked a brow, leaning over some of the garden railing with this gleeful look. "She owe you money or something? 'Coz that's a hell of a deal you've struck there, gold I'd say!" his smirk grew more wicked. "What does she fuck dirty? We both know good girls aren't your type-" his gaze lifted and he watched Eden walk over, well.. it wasn't exactly walk because there was a slight sway.
"Would you call me that too? Earlier you said slut, you said that and.. would you call me that?" Hale glanced back to Angelo and pulled a grimace. "I'll leave that in your experienced hands, buddy." As Hale walked away Eden turned with this.. look of confusion but something was not right with her, even the way she squinted at Hale before turning her full body back towards Angelo. There was a visible mark around her wrist, red indents on her pale, milky flesh. "I don't want to be called a slut even when this is done I don't.." her sentence dwindled off and she started to blink repeatedly, her hand coming up to her head. That fear was rising in her. One drink earlier then, that one and that wasn't.. enough for things to feel dizzy and why was her brain so scrambled? "I don't.." she repeated.
Eden started to back step, oh.. she was frightened alright. Everything suddenly felt wrong, she felt like she wasn't in her body and all she wanted was to go home. Her hand reached out for something to grab to steady herself. "I don't think I feel so good I think I- I-.." frustration swelled, no, she hadn't stuttered all night, why was it started now? "I.. I'm going to go home." she couldn't hear it, but Angelo would. The way she slurred those last two sentences terribly. Tears had welled up in her eyes because she could feel something was wrong but her body just felt, weak and out of her control, each movement tiring.
"Right," Angelo clicked his tongue in disappointment, letting out a sigh after her negative response to discuss her awkward encounter with the man. He couldn't understand the reason behind not discussing it, but would rather focus on discussing their encounter with Adelaide. How would he react if Barlowe came across them once more? Angelo believed his own initial response to Eden being uncomfortable around him was justified, and felt that details about why she felt that way around him had to be given.
The influx of questions caused Angelo to develop a headache, and his impatience grew as he contemplated addressing each query. He arched a brow at her. "What if you don't align with these people? Do you intend to compromise your essence to subject to their standards?" he inquired, narrowing his eyes at her. "Listen, Eden. It's evident that you had some association with Barlowe, yet you're withholding information from me. Drop the fucking topic about Adelaide, because I've already given you everything there is to know about me and her. There is absolutely nothing more to be discussed of her, because I don't even feel like talking about the woman she is, and you're clearly pushing that conversation forward. Besides, it's clear I've brought you here because you're my date. If I wanted to scare you, I'd have done it. I'm sure I did back when we met again after a long time, though," Oh, he was certainly mature and grumpy, as he disliked repeating explanations. "She won't try to tear you to shreds and if she does, she knows what'll get to her. I don't fucking care if her husband is the same asshole that is in charge of one of the world's biggest corporations as to date," He stated firmly, hoping that such determination to rip anyone on their way would be enough for her.
However, when she pulled back to grab herself a drink, Angelo's head turned towards the view of the gardens. Leaning against the balcony, he took another drag of his cigarette while attempting to gather his thoughts and process them. There was a hint of jealousy from Eden that he couldn't quite understand, and he contemplated whether to keep the number of women he's slept with from the event from her to avoid further questions. His thoughts drifted when his name was chimed, and he turned, straightening his back as his gaze diverted to Hale. He had to force himself not to roll his eyes at his presence and huff, given that he disliked the kid in particular.
Instead, he forced a smile, a demeanor he often assumed in social settings. He had noticed Hale's tendency to boast about his father's wealth. "Gailbraith, it's been a while," Angelo replied, taking another drag of the cigarette. "Business is flourishing. It's been more prosperous than the last couple of months. There's not much to tell, really," he remarked with a nonchalant shrug. The thought of introducing this boy to Eden was unappealing. "It's all about years of experience, young man. That's my secret." He offered a wink, subtly indicating his desire for Hale to depart and leave him be. The night was getting longer than usual.

hi could you do prompt no. 12 w robin? thanks in advance have a wonderful week :]
(‘’I’m fine.’’ - ‘’No, you’re not. You’re bleeding!’’)
A/N I got 5 requests of this number for Robin, so here we go!
-
Above you, the Upside Down sky was thundering loudly, each thunder-clap followed by a red hue in the sky. After freeing Steve from the bats’ hold, you all ran to seek shelter under Skull Rock, waiting for the bats to pass and go.
A scared Robin was hiding behind you, clutching your shoulder.
‘’Okay, I think we’re safe to go,’’ Nancy decided, the cloud of bats having flown away from the woods.
You all stood, ready to head to the Wheelers’ house. Nancy was leading the way, followed by Robin, when you felt a sharp pain in your thigh. You hissed and grabbed onto the rock to keep you standing.
Being right next to you, Eddie heard you and grabbed your arm to steady you, then alerted the others.
‘’Y/N!’’ She rushed to your side, her blue eyes filled with worry. ‘’You alright? What is it?’’
Back at the gate, you had told her the bats didn’t get you, but they did. One did. It took a generous bite of your thigh, which was currently bleeding and soaking a patch on your jeans. Your crouched down position had made the bleeding worse since flexing was applying pressure to the veins, making you dizzy from the blood loss.
In your hurry to flee, Robin hadn’t noticed your injury. She didn’t think of asking if you got hurt, too eager to flee those damn bats. She just grabbed your hand and ran. Now, she was regretting not checking on you.
‘’I’m fine,’’ you brushed off.
That didn’t slide with Robin.
‘’No, you’re not.’’ Her hands were on your shoulders, doing a full body check for injuries. Her eyes eventually traveled down to your thigh, seeing the blood stain. Ha! ‘’You’re bleeding!’’
You suddenly, the world was spinning and you felt a hot flash. ‘’I just need to rest a little.’’ Carefully, you sunk to the ground to sit, keeping your leg down this time.
‘’These bats must’ve bit you-’’ Robin’s eyes grew round like saucers, cutting herself off. ‘’Oh my god. Do you think these bats have…rabies?’’
Your looked at your girlfriend with terror. ‘’Rabies?! Right now is not the time go worry about rabies-’’
She didn’t hear you, continuing to rant about rabies. ‘’Rabies is like, my number one fear. And I think we should get you to a doctor soon because once the symptoms set in, it's too late. You're already dead.''
''That's reassuring...'' Steve commented, getting a stern eye from Nancy.
If you got rabies from the bite, it meant he did too.
''The good news is, I'm pretty sure the wooziness is not a symptom of rabies. But if you start having hallucinations or muscle spasm or you start feeling aggressive-''
''Babe,’’ you pressed, stopping her mid-rant. ‘’Shut. Up.''
The possibilities of you dying from this bite - or blood loss, whichever came first - were the last thing you wanted to think about right now.
She nodded, although still not knowing what to do. You visibly needed to clean and bandage the injury, but you were in the middle of the woods and there was no pharmacies nearby or hospital.
Perhaps Nancy had supplies at home?
‘‘Nance, how far is your house?’‘ you asked.
‘‘A few miles.’‘
She had kept her answer vague, but you knew it meant more miles than you could walk. The situation was not getting better.
‘’Maybe you could fetch supplies from Nancy’s house and I could stay-’’
'’No.'’ Robin shook her head sternly, not on board with your plan. '’I’m not letting you in these woods. What if the bats return while I’m gone and take another chunk of you? I know you taste amazing, but you’re all mine. I won’t let you be their next meal.’’
The sexual connotation brought a smile to your face, laughing because only Robin could slide sexual references in a serious speech while still being innocent.
‘’I don’t know, Rob...’’ You twisted your face in pain, feeling something throb in your thigh.
Was this the rabies spreading?
‘‘None of that shit, okay? I have an idea! You’re gonna lean on me...and if I can’t carry you any more, Eddie will help. Right?’‘ She glanced at him for approval. ‘‘Right?’‘ she repeated, louder.
‘‘Yeah. Sure. I’ll help.’‘

confession
pairing: jay halstead x reader
summary: you find yourself in some trouble while clearing a location with your partner jay.
word count: 2.8k
tags: @specialagentsoftie @fighterkimburgess @everythingaddictxx
note: different kind of pd fic then i'm used to but hope y'all like it! ☺
"we're eight minutes out. don't go in yet." voight said into the mic but you and jay had already entered a second too late.
jay's been your partner for almost a year now. the one he had before you was a blonde named hailey that took a position from the fbi.
when you first met him it was about a month after the previous detective left and you could tell he was obviously still in denial. you gave him space and only input your opinion about cases you worked on with intelligence.
it took about three weeks until he actually said anything besides the occasional comment. and he knew deep down that you weren't trying to replace her. but since you were together a lot during the week—jay couldn't help but make his own conclusion about you.
he started to open up more when he looked past the stubbornness after concluding that you were a decent person. for a moment there, you could have sworn he was having an out of body experience with how nice he started treating you.
jay started to invite you out to drinks on a periodic basis. he wanted to explore the possibilities of having you as his permanent partner. one night after a couple of drinks, jay was in a good mood and showed you a picture of his old partner.
the two of them were standing in front of their new work truck with bright smiles on their faces. he talked about her a lot after that night as a way of meeting you half-way. and by the end of that month—it was as if you physically knew her and who she was as a person.
the both of you hit it off pretty well and became friends. even as far as, having drinks every tuesday and thursday after work at molly's—the firefighter owned bar.
jay mumbled a curse at the order voight gave but it was already too late. "get behind me." he spoke in a hushed whisper. not wanting to argue in that particular moment you did as told.
detective halstead had his gun raised and in a firm grip around his fingers before stepping further into the house. you followed his position and warily stepped more into the creaky house.
luckily the both of you had vests already on and around your chests. the material easily gave you a visual view of his arm muscles around the freckles splayed across his biceps.
right away you spotted the cans of spray paint sitting on the concrete living room floors. crude words were traced along the four walls and you couldn't help but scrunch your nose at the horrid smell.
it only had you raising your pistol higher.
while you glanced around to survey the room closely, you couldn't help but notice the gang symbols that you were familiar with. due to the cpd database you knew at least three different affiliations drawn over the wood boarded windows.
the overused drug house looked like something out of a horror movie.
"clear." he grunted between paced cautious breaths and you continued to walk behind his careful steps around the garbage to venture into the main hallway of the house.
jay stopped at the entryway and you turned back around to double check the area once again while he scanned the front view where you and he needed to go.
both sides of the hallway were clear but he made sure his gun was raised and followed every inch of the hallway space that he inspected.
you felt a tap on your waist and turned back around to see jay was still facing forward. he probably hadn't noticed the spot he touched of your body but it still sent shivers down your spine with the intimacy of it.
but you pushed away the anxiousness to check and see what was bothering jay. the only thought you should be having right now is how to get out of the dangerous position.
the hallway was full of open and vulnerable space. a clear point of range that could be taken advantage of to take either you or jay out at any time.
jay was concerned for you. he couldn't help the anxious feeling that he had in the pit of his stomach. the unknowingness ahead in the crack house irked him greatly that he couldn’t predict what was about to happen.
the walls of the hallway smelled highly metallic and if that hadn't given it away, the walls were filled with fresh blood splatter. you gulped at the sight of the bright red handprints going down the length of the hall and glanced at jay from the corner of your eye with an eyebrow raised.
he sighed and nodded his head while pointing his gun to the left to signal the continuance of moving on. you bit the bottom of your lip and tipped your head to let him know you were ready to go.
turning your body in a three hundred sixty angle, you watched his back and felt the hairs on the back of your neck lift up in a static gesture. you could also feel goosebumps all over your arms and you just wanted to hurry up and get out of there.
it was truly the most awful scene you've ever been to. with everything you had—you kept yourself together and calm. your lips were in a straight line the whole time.
you should have known with the uneasy feeling that things were going wrong within a split second. and you were right because after jay turned just slightly he felt a gun being pressed against his forehead.
“put your guns down or else i’m going to blow his head off.” an angered voice said into the echoey hall.
not believing what was happening, you turned your body to survey the area and another man came into your view and held his gun higher. “‘tsk tsk’ miss. hand me that gun or else we’re going to have problems.” jay sighed from behind you and you rolled your eyes.
“i’m not putting down shit until you tell me your demands.” you said maybe a little too cockily but it was protocol.
voight had told the team plenty of times to stall and not give up your gun at first. in hopes that the other’s would show up and it would become a better outcome if you just continued talking to the person who was a threat.
a third one appeared and now you were officially outnumbered but you were still hoping they were dumber than they looked. the one that was pressing a firearm to your partner’s temple spit out, “listen lady. you either put your weapon down or else his brain matter will be just another body that was paved across the walls of this house.”
you tried to calculate in your head quickly if you should take the risk of surrendering. voight said they were eight minutes out. and if you’ve been in the house for almost four minutes now.
that was half the time left until they were going to show but then those few precious minutes would be enough time for literally anything.
sometimes you hated being a part of the police force. how could you ever know the correct answer and outcome within a split second of your life? could anybody be capable of that? whatever choice you decided to take would be the outcome.
you knew you wouldn’t be able to live without jay as your partner and in your life. and his blood would be on your hands if you didn’t surrender now. a shaky breath fell past your lips when you clicked the safety back on and handed it to one of them.
of course they used your gun against you and headbutted you with it. little black spots were in your vision before it completely knocked you out. you just hoped the intelligence team would be able to find you and jay.
it would be your fault and you’d feel guilty until your last breath if they didn’t.
you weren’t sure how much time had passed but a hard slap against your cheek woke you up. a blood trail still continued to trickle down your forehead and you winced at the feeling of an awful beating in your eardrums. “wake up sleeping bitch.”
you tried to speak but instead you coughed at the buildup in your throat. not being able to help yourself, in a snarky tone you replied. “i thought it was sleeping beauty?” that earned you another slap that ensured fingerprints across your cheek but you weren’t feeling any regret about it.
“now shut up and answer my next question.” he inputted before you could interrupt again. you looked at him with a devious grin and he rolled his eyes in annoyance. “what were you looking for in that house?”
when you leaned forward, you realized the reason why you couldn’t move was because your arms were tied behind your back. but nonetheless you leaned forward encroaching in his space enough to feel his breath span out against your red cheek.
“as if i’d tell you.” your defiance had him pushing your head back forcefully so you hit the concrete behind you, feeling as if a baseball bat hit your skull.
he smirked at your uncomfort. “perhaps a little visit with your boyfriend will help you come to understand that i don’t mess around. if you don’t give me an answer—my boys won’t hesitate to put a bullet straight through his head.” your only reply was a silent one.
spitting blood onto his shoes and he cursed before grinning again. “yeah that’s what i thought.” turning his head towards the door, he yelled. “bring the pretty boy in!”
your shoulders immediately dropped when they entered the room. the other two men from earlier were dragging jay into the room and disposed of his body roughly on the ground in front of you. if it weren’t for his chest rising up and down faintly then you would have thought he was dead.
both of his eyes were already swollen and you knew he would have two black eyes for weeks, dried blood dripped down his face and you didn’t even want to look at the rest of his body. despite the fact he was wearing clothes, you knew he had many internal problems that would need only the care a hospital could provide.
“j-jay?” you stuttered at the sight of him.
he kept blacking out and struggled to stay awake. jay had been counting his breaths to make sure he had enough air circulating through his body. cracked ribs were no joke and he could only groan to let his favorite person know that he was still holding on.
“you think beating people is the only answer? violence?” you glanced around the room and glared at the three with a venomous look. they shared similar smiles hearing how hoarse your voice was.
“i hope my team finds you all and you rot!” the two that brought jay in walked away and the one that talked to you a few moments ago stood and looked down at you. saying one more thing before walking out the door and shutting it. “and i hope next time i come in here—you’ll feel more generous and tell me what you were up to. if you don’t then our pretty boy here will die as promised.”
as soon as he left the room, you started rubbing your arms up and down the wall in hopes that the binds around your wrists would break off. “y/n.” jay mumbled. you didn’t even notice he had turned his face and you shushed him. “don’t open your eyes jay. it’ll be okay, i promise.”
he tried again. “y-y/n. i need to t-tell you something.” jay’s lip was busted and bruised. he hissed at the pain. “you don’t need to tell me anything. we’re getting out of here, detective halstead.” you stated with confidence and continued to run your hands up and down despite the sting of your wrists.
jay had a feeling earlier this morning that something bad would happen. his gut had told him something and he wished he hadn’t ignored it. but he can’t always follow everything, especially when they didn’t even have their case yet. but of course after finding out the hard way, this case was bad.
he knew it and it still put you in harm's way but jay had to tell you how he felt just in case it did go the way he was hoping it wouldn’t. “i don’t care if i need to keep my strength right now. listen to me please.” he pleaded and you finally stopped, turning to glance at his face.
jay was squinting and the visual of his state had your stomach churning.
“y/n i haven’t been completely honest with you and i need to tell you this. i’ve wanted to for a while now, but i just couldn’t find the right moment to.” it was getting to the point where you were desperately trying to keep together. and now that he wanted to confess a deep secret that he’s held close to his chest, the whole thing just had you hysterical.
jay frowned when you started laughing. he tried to scoot closer but the pain he felt was significant. it was just one of those situations where it wasn’t an appropriate response but you couldn’t help yourself either.
he noticed the tears falling down your cheeks while watching you quiet down. a reaction like this didn’t surprise your partner so he didn’t blame your outburst in the least. “i’m s-sorry. i’m sorry.” you muttered and tilted your head to both sides.
you looked back over to jay after successfully wiping more than half of the tears on your sleeve. and for a moment he just gazed into your eyes with his blue ones. a look that you couldn’t decipher nor describe appeared across his face but he seemed to snap out of whatever he was thinking.
jay cleared his throat and continued with what he was about to say earlier. “it’s okay y/n. but i need you to know that i don’t blame you in the slightest for what went down in that house. i would have done the same exact thing because i love you.”
it was like time stopped and you couldn’t speak even if you wanted to. after all of that time you spent with jay. him wanting nothing to do with you, then becoming your acquaintance, somewhat of a real friend and he loved you?
“you really love me?” you questioned. not being able to believe what was coming out of his mouth. you wondered if the three men drugged him and he was high or delusional. a grunt came out his mouth at the current aching pain he felt all over his body.
“yes y/n, i love you so much. if i could, i’d be over there right now and giving you a hug. then i’d lean down and give you a kiss that i’ve been wanting to give you for months now.”
that honesty from him had you laughing, “months? me too. i’ve wanted to kiss you for almost the whole year that i’ve known you.” you replied with the same amount of honesty he had given you.
“yeah, y/n. it’s probably going to be a year soon but i meant what i said. i really do love you and i’m sorry we’re in the situation that we’re in now. i wish i could protect you from this.” before you could reply the two of you heard gunshots outside of the room. “shit! i hope that’s them.” you mumbled and jay nodded as best as he could.
the door banged open and hit the wall. you almost peed your pants with how happy you were to see kevin and adam surveying the room. “clear!” kevin announced and then walked over to you and jay. adam spoke into the radio, “5021 ida. we have officers down and need two ambos rolled to our location.”
after kevin ripped the binds from your wrists, you crawled over to jay even though your arms were killing you. another tear fell down your cheek when you got up and close to him. he looked awful but now that the two of you were safe, he could begin to heal soon enough. “jay.” he made a ‘hmm’ sound due to the exhaustion he was feeling.
“i love you too.” you finally said and he smiled. you leaned down to brush your lips against his carefully. “after all of this is done. i’m going to give you a proper one.”
you winked and he grinned and responded while the medics rolled in. “we have plenty of time in the world now.”

Slipping Away
Jason Todd x reader
warnings: shot description of jason’s face industries
a/n: no this is not an oc idea im basing this off of not at all nope nah nope. (it might be. okay it is. it’s titans!leila but more emotional and less angry)
prompt: @captainshazamerica: “Aihosvakvsi Lacey I'm so sorry, I'm a dumbass cause I swear i read the pinned post and re read the rules but apparently I cant read😅😅😅🤦🏻♀️okay, SO xD Can I have a oneshot of being the close younger sibling of Titans Jason Todd and seeing him go through, you know, everything(😅)(like current red hood arc) and reader being real conflicted cause she is super close with jason and hates seeing him go through this but obviously doesnt approve. and with hurt/comfort if possible?(and/or angst with a hapoy/fluff ending?) Thanks so much! Hope you are having a good week!”
Now that everyone was back in Gotham, it was officially time to get to the bottom of this mess. Wayne Manor was bleak—er than usual. And it all started when Jason, the boy that was practically your brother by now, was brutally murdered by your father’s arch nemesis. A hell of a way to go, and not one unfamiliar to the citizens of Gotham City.
You were struggling during this whole mess and things only seemed to get more difficult. More heart-wrenching and sick. Every breath you took set off another cruel, confusing event for you and your family, both Bat and Titan, to investigate and take care of.
And it all started because you weren’t there. Just a night off so you could enjoy your city for what it was instead of lurking on rooftops and stalking potential troublemakers. Jason needed space, you needed fresh air. Perfect trade off. “Call me if you need anything, Jay. I mean it.” You told him while gathering your things near the exit of the garage, about to pick one of many keys belonging to one of many cars.
“I probably won’t. Benched, remember?” Jason gave you a passive-aggressive reminder of his current stance with Bruce and you rolled your eyes. “Oh, come on, y/n. It’s not fair! You’re still allowed to go out in a suit and throw bad guys in jail!”
“He’ll come around eventually.” You patted Jason on the shoulder. “Bruce is just…he’s weird. I mean, he dresses like a bat to fight crime, you know he has problems.” You chuckled to yourself, but your brother was not in the mood. “Listen, Jason. You haven’t been yourself in a while, he’s just looking out for you.”
“Bullshit!” Jason threw your arm away from his shoulder and backed up, causing you to raise your eyebrows in surprise. “You and Dick never get scolded like I do. I got sent away to San Francisco because I needed to be ‘corrected.’ And it was the worst mistake of my life.” He shouted at you and you began to walk away. “You don’t want to admit it, but Bruce hates me and loves you!” His voice echoed through the garage.
“Have it your way, Jason.” You waved him off and stepped into your chosen vehicle. Just before you slammed the door, you spoke your last words to him. “I really hope you stop focusing on Robin and start focusing on yourself or else you’re gonna end up dead.”
It wasn’t until later that night you’d regret those words, the moment you got a news alert from your phone just after parking your car. The headline: Joker’s Last Laugh: Clown Surrenders After Bludgeoning Batman’s Sidekick Robin. You read the title over and over until your phone began to ring, it was Barbara Gordon herself. You knew what was coming and you burst into tears just before answering the phone.
“Y/N? Y/N…you heard already.” She heard you crying to the point where you could barely speak. “He’s here, and Bruce is going to be here soon. Come to GCPD, I’m here for you.” Barbara assured and you hummed an “okay” before hanging up and hyperventilating behind the wheel. Your mind was just racing with questions.
Why did he do this? Why didn’t he call you? How did it happen? Why did the Joker surrender? Should you pay a visit to Arkham? Should you call Dick?
“Dick…” You mumbled, sniffling thickly and lifting up your phone to call him. But you hesitated. You couldn’t bare to talk to anyone else about this right now and threw your phone aside. “Later.” While still shaking from pure shock, you started your car and drove to GCPD. By the time you got there Bruce had just landed, so it was just you and Babs. You silently walked down the hall to the morgue, arms crossed and hands squeezing them to the point of bruising. You weren’t ready to see him, but you couldn’t refrain. The coroner unzipped the bag slowly, making seconds feel like hours. Barbara reached out for your hand and grasped it tightly as you laid eyes on him and gasped.
“I know, I know.” She whispered to you as you broke down once again. “We have Joker, we’re gonna make him pay.”
“Pay?” You took your hand away. “He’s never going to pay! It’s the same story over and over! He murders, you throw him in Arkham, he schemes, breaks out, and murders again!” You snapped at her in the coroner’s company. Barbara peered over at him awkwardly.
“Could you give us a minute, Eddie?” She requested and he nodded, promptly exiting the uncomfortable scene and shutting the door behind him. “Y/N, it’s really all that we can do. He’s clinically insane, practically untouchable by the law. And Bruce…he wouldn’t…”
“But I would.” You stared at Jason’s broken face, exposed skull. “I was taught to do so, maybe I should.” Barbara took you by the hand again, much more aggressively.
“You aren’t an assassin anymore, y/n. Do not stoop back down to your mother’s level.” She warned and you looked back over to Jason, knowing what he would have wanted. Just before you could say anything, the door swung open. “Bruce…”
“Dad.” You gulped and he said nothing, just walked forward and stared at Jason. Your brother, his son, Gotham’s Robin. “Dad, I’m sorry. I don’t know why he didn’t call me, I would have stopped him. I’m sorry.” You began to beg for forgiveness, but he was in no mood to speak to you or anyone else, for that matter. Growing frustrated, you stormed out of the room and decided it was time to call Dick. You were shaking again, missing the right buttons on your phone. Once it started ringing, you didn’t know what to say.
“Hey, y/n. What’s up?” Dick answered.
“You haven’t seen the news yet.” You observed out loud.
“What? What do you mean.” He waited for you to respond during a long pause. “Y/N?”
“Jason—” You thought you’d make it through the sentence, but even speaking his name felt like you failed him. “Jason’s dead.” The line went silent. “It was Joker. I don’t know what happened, we’re at the morgue right now, Bruce just landed half an hour ago. I don’t think he’s okay. Dick, please come home.” You began begging another quiet family member and heard him start shuffling around.
“I’m on my way.”
—————
The funeral happened before Dick even got home. Bruce was more distant than usual. You felt alone.
One thing after another, Bruce lost his mind. You woke up to one more person missing from their bed and Dick, he had to call in the Titans.
You were both relieved and furious that the Joker was dead. You’d been a killer before, you could have done it again for the right reasons. But your father, he was off the deep end and now missing. You should have been the one to do it. Just another thing to blame yourself for. So you decided to sit out on the Bat thing, just for the night. You had backup, so it gave you time to recuperate.
But that just wasn’t the end of it, because when the Titans came back from their night of wonders, Dick had to pull you aside and tell you disturbing news.
“Y/N, hey, sit down with me for a second.” Dick asked you, pulling out one of the Batcave chairs while the other Titans stood nearby, waiting for your reaction. “Tonight we ran into another Red Hood terrorizing Gotham.”
“Yeah,” you adjusted yourself in the seat, “what about him? Joker sparked another comeback?” You turned around to see all of your colleagues intently staring.
“Something like that.” Dick sighed and kneeled down in front of you. “It was Jason. He’s alive.”
“No, he’s not.” You quickly replied. “He’s not, I saw his body. Bruce buried him. He’s gone.” You began to panic inside.
“Did you see Bruce bury him. Did you see him in the casket?” Dick questioned and you just stared at him with watering eyes and a quivering lip. He nodded and opened his arms. “Come here.” You fell into them and began sobbing once more. You felt so weak and tired from the amount you cried, but you’d never experienced such a devastating loss. You didn’t know how to cope losing a brother, one so close to you. You couldn’t process his death, let alone coming back. Dick rubbed your back for a moment and assured you, “We’re going to figure this out.”
“Y/N, come on,” Kory softly said with her hand on your shoulder, “let’s go back upstairs. All of us. After tonight, we all need some rest. We’ll figure everything out in the morning.” You wiped your tears on your sleeve and agreed, feeling all eyes on you as you left the cave with her. “You okay?”
“Not really.” You laughed. “Not everyday your brother dies, your dad becomes a murderer and disappears, and your brother comes back as a terrorist.”
“Yeah, you Bats never seem to get a break.” She wrapped her arm around your should. “But the Titans are here for you one hundred percent. Anything you need.”
“Thanks, Kory.”
—————
Dick knocked on your door first thing the next morning, slowly letting himself in. “Hey, Gar’s making breakfast for everyone. You okay to come down?” He asked while walking to your bed. “As soon as we finish we can start looking into the Jason thing, okay? Did you get any sleep last night?”
“Not really.” You laid on your pillow and looked up at him. “And I doubt you did, either.” Dick sort of smiled at that, but before he could think of something to say, there was a large crash in the kitchen and a series of overlapping shouting.
“It’s fine, I got it!” Conner yelled and you assumed everything was cleaned up in a moment’s time. It actually got you to smile.
“Okay, I’ll have breakfast with you.” You pushed the covers off of yourself and walked with your brother through Wayne Manor, although it didn’t feel much like Wayne Manor anymore. It was much brighter with the Titans roaming the halls.
“Y/N, Dick told me what your favorite was!” Gar held up a plate of breakfast foods and smiled widely, exposing what sort of looked like fangs. “Still hot.”
“Thanks, Gar.” You smiled weakly back and took the plate, sitting with the rest of the Titans who tried their best not to stare at you, but they were worried. They really were, but they let you eat in peace while having light conversations around you. There was something about their presence that calmed you, there was less tiptoeing around the Manor, especially since Alfred passed. You continued clearing your plate and your spot and walked down to the Batcave without another word.
“Are they okay?” Conner asked Dick and everyone looked over at him, who knew you best. Dick gave them a very forced smirk and nodded.
“They will be. They just need some time to process this.” Dick began to clean his own spot at the table, too. “I know y/n’s had their fair share of loss, but their grieving process…it was tattered when they lived with their mom and grandfather.” He explained, piquing the Titans interest. They knew you, had fought alongside you, but you still chose to keep some things to yourself.
“Are their mother and grandfather people we would know of?” Gar inquired.
“Ever hear of the League of Assassins?” Dick answered his question with another and Gar’s jaw fell a bit. Dick then made his way to the cave to meet you, with the rest of his team following loosely behind. They found you replaying the security footage from the Titan’s encounter last night, trying your best to zoom in on Red Hood and evaluate his movements.
“How is he back?” Conner asked the big question. “I mean, y/n, you saw him, right? After the…the Joker.” You didn’t look away from the replay, but answered him honestly.
“His face was bashed in. Bone exposed. Brain, too. But his face here, I mean, it isn’t much to go off of, but I don’t see any cavities in his facial structure at all. He…looks…fine.” As you explained it to them, you began to realize just what you were saying. The other Titans thought you were beginning to lose your grip again and backed away, but you were trying to evaluate just how possible your idea was. “Fuck!” You shouted, slamming your hands on the computer and rushing up the stairs. Everyone jumped as a reaction and a few followed suit.
“Y/N? What’s wrong, are you okay? Talk to us!” Kory tried to console you, but no one knew why exactly you had began this little rampage. Once you got to your room, you crawled underneath your bed to pull out a large case full of some al Ghūl heirlooms. Among those were weapons, robes, and several papers, scrolls, maps. One map contained locations of known Lazarus Pits in the United States, “just in case you need it,” Ra’s said to you some time ago.
“What is that? A map of what? I can’t read Arabic.” Dick looked over your shoulder, analyzing the map as best as he could.
“Lazarus.” You whispered and Dick’s eyes went wide.
“You don’t really think that’s what this is, do you?” Dick asked you, hand on your shoulder as the others stared in confusion.
“Dad told me to check all these locations a while ago, but I never got around to it. I didn’t think I’d need to. But it makes sense, Dick. Everything about it does.” You explained to him, along with the rest of the team.
“Meaning?” Gar chimed in hoping to get something more from this, but the only person in this room who knew the full effects of the Put was you, and you were now terrified.
“It’s worse than we thought.” You shoved the case back under your bed and ran back to the cave, leaving everyone with a very disturbing sort of idea in their heads as they tried to understand what you meant. You began to cross reference the map locations with the morgue and quickly found your answer. The Titans and you learned of a Pit below GCPD.
“Can you please explain to us what exactly this Pit does and why it’s so worrying?” Kory requested and you felt your chest begin to grow tighter. It pained you to know that Jason was out there alone somewhere with the effects of Lazarus.
“My…My mom’s side of the family—specifically my grandfather—had found Lazarus pits some years ago. Their like enchanted pools, he used them to keep himself young because they have these certain healing properties.” You nervously explained, uncovering some unsavory memories. “The only thing is that there are side effects to them. It messes with your mind, and the more serious the injury…the worse the effect is…and…”
“You don’t have to go on if you don’t want to, y/n. It’s okay.” Dick tried to stop you, but you wanted to be more open with the team. The Titans were on the edge of their seats.
“No, it’s okay. I need them to know how dangerous this situation is.” You assured him and continued. “My grandfather kept himself alive for centuries with them, but each time he came out, he seemed to lose it for a bit. And I…I had used it once. There was a traitor among our ranks when I was much younger. He, uh, he stabbed me through the chest and my mother threw me into the Pit. It was a feeling I’ll never forget, and my mind…I wasn’t ready for it. For weeks I was extremely unstable and the psychological turmoil haunts me to this day.” You finished your story and saw pity in their eyes, making you wish that the story wasn’t even true.
“You only described injuries, though. Have you ever seen someone get resurrected?” Conner asked and you tensed up.
“No, but it’s not impossible. That’s what worries me,” you looked back at images of the new Jason, “who knows how messed up his brain is of he was healed from death.”
—————
Days went by and tragedy struck again and again, all by the fault of Jason Todd. But the thing is that you didn’t really believe it was Jason in there. It was Lazarus, or Scarecrow, the drugs, something else. It was not Jason. You and Gar had agreed on that much and he became a shoulder to lean on, but the others weren’t as patient with him. They needed to take him down.
“No, you guys don’t understand. He doesn’t need to be brought down, he needs help.” You pleaded with the team, trying your best to get them to see that he was still one of you, but the death of Hank shook their faith too hard.
“Y/N, he’s dangerous. I know you love him, we all did. But that’s not Jason anymore.” Kory approached with a soft voice and tried to get you to see things their way, but you saw things Jason’s way. What he was doing was wrong, but he could still be saved from it. He’d never be the same, but you’d do anything to help him. You’d want them to do the same.
“I refuse to give up on him.” You pushed her hands off of you and stormed down to the Batcave taking off on one of your motorcycles. Fortunately, you’d kept a secret from the rest of your team. Jason’s tracker was still online, you’d realized that a few days ago and had been keeping tabs on Jason and Crane, spotting them on warehouse cameras and such. The only problem is that the signal could sometimes be blocked. But it was a start, and right now, it seemed that Jason was alone.
“Y/N? Where are you going?” Gar said over your comms.
“I’m taking care of shit.” You answered and turned your earpiece off before peeling out and searching for your brother. He was just walking the street when you found him, completely alone and seemingly upset. You pulled up beside him and flipped your helmet up. “Jason?” You asked and he continued walking, so you walked your bike alongside him. “Jason? Can you hear me?”
“Go away.” He growled, shoving his hands in his pockets. You sighed and hopped off the motorcycle, turning on its security measures and catching up to your brother. “I said go away. I don’t want any more trouble.”
“I know you don’t.” You stopped in front of him and tried to look him in the eyes, they told a story. Bloodshot, dark circles, pupils normal. The effects of the Lazarus Pit had worn off, but he was exhausted. “I don’t want any trouble either. I just want my brother back.”
“You can’t, he’s gone.” He nearly got lost walking through a crowd of people, but you wouldn’t let him get away that easily. He veered off into a parking garage and you ran in with him.
“I know what you’ve been through.” You called after him, hearing your voice echo. “But I can’t talk to you here.”
“Then don’t.” He bluntly replied. You grabbed him by the arm and he willfully stopped.
“When’s the last time you ate?” You asked him and he stayed silent, looking away from your eyes. “Come on, we can go get some fast food and go to my apartment in the city. No one else knows about it.” Your hand trailed down his arms to his own hand. “You’re still my brother. I don’t like what you’ve done, but I know what led you to do it.” You began to walk and he walked beside you, letting you lead him down the street and back to your motorcycle. After about fifteen minutes, you’d obtained two bags full of food. Burgers, fries, drinks, and such, whatever he wanted, you could tell he was starving. It was a hassle being able to hold it tight on the bike, but you guys were pretty resourceful.
“The others are mad at me, aren’t they?” Jason asked you as you parked your bike and grabbed your share of the food. You sighed and grabbed the keys from your pocket.
“Some of them are. But I think they’re just really worried about you and the path you’re going down.” There was a long period of silence between the ground floor and your apartment on the fourth. You let him into the cozy little “safehouse” you’d made for yourself to get out of the Manor. “I know it was the Lazarus Pit.”
“I figured. Takes one to know one.” He sat down at the barstool near your kitchen and ripped into the bag, starting to eat his food like an animal.
“What I don’t get is why you turned to Crane in the first place.” You explained to him, sitting by his side. “He gave you drugs and marketed them as an out and you took the bait. You’re a Robin, what made you think that was a good idea?”
“I was a Robin.” He corrected quickly. “And I needed…I needed something. Something that was going to stop the nightmares, the flashbacks. I needed to get away from what was left of SF.”
“You needed help, Jason. You could have come to me.” You reminded him without cornering him. “And Scarecrow, he’s manipulative, you knew that when you went to him. That led you to become a terrorist, a murderer. That’s never going to go away.”
“Are you speaking from experience?” Jason grabbed his drink, giving you an antagonist little look and seemed to be reverting to his former self. It gave you a bit of relief to see him in a better mood.
“You know how my grandfather treated me.” You answered with a hint of regret in your voice as you remembered your time with the League. “I was a weapon to him, nothing more. When Bruce found out the truth he rescued me from them. If I remember correctly, Bruce saved you from a rough situation, too.”
“You’re still a weapon.” He reminded you. “And he left me in the dust. I died, y/n. Where did Bruce go? I don’t see him here now.” Jason began to get irritated.
“Bruce snapped and murdered the Joker. No one knows where the hell he is right now.” You revealed and Jason’s face dropped.
“That was Bruce?” You watched Jason look away from you and stare off for a moment, looking at all the decor in your apartment. Pictures of you and your family on the walls, little decorations and hidden weapons only he could spot from a mile away. “What did the others do?”
“Forgot about him. He’s a grown man with a lit of problems that are too late to solve. No one knows how to help him.” Your voice wavered as you wondered if you’d ever see your dad again. “You’re still worth fighting for. And I know what you felt being thrown into that Pit. Being resurrected is traumatic.”
“When do the nightmares go away?” Jason asked you about your own experiences.
“A couple weeks.” You assured. “I know it’s hard, but you’ll get through it.”
“Yeah, sure,” he whispered, “can I take a shower?”

Rogue-durin-16 masterlist
It was the first Saturday of the scholar year, and the first ten days tended to be the definition of chaos, so I had volunteered to help my House's prefects with the first years; I was in sixth year, so my first two weeks were mostly free anyway.
I was on my way to the dungeons to pick up the group of kids the prefects had assigned me when I bumped into my Ravenclaw friends, and I decided to chat a bit with them to catch up.
I had my back against one of the hallway's walls, therefore I saw the pair of towering, lean, redheaded figures jogging towards my friends to give them a jump scare.
"That's about it real— AAH!" My friend jolted at the infamous' twins, bumping them for scaring her. "Idiots!"
"Sorry, love." One of them passed his arms over two of my friends' shoulders, while his twin brother's eyes roamed over the circle, tilting his head in confusion when he reached me. "Hello?"
"Hey." I gave them a subtle wave and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Oh, right!" My friend turned to me and pointed at the boy whose arm rested on her. "This is George and that's—"
"Fred Weasley." He introduced himself, offering me his hand to shake with a half smile that promised everything but boredom.
Giving his hand a firm shake, I responded, "Y/n Y/l/n." Our eyes locked; we didn't even attempt to hide the fact that we were measuring one another, and I knew I would have to endure the teasing on my friends' behalf later, but there was something in Fred's gaze that made me extremely curious about his intentions.
I let go of his hand, only for him to take a couple of steps in my direction to stand closer. "And how is it that I've never seen you before, Y/n Y/l/n?" He inquired, leaning on his shoulder against the wall.
"I reckon you don't look much at the Slytherin table?"
His body tensed. "Oh?"
"Oh." I chuckled at his shock. "Scared much?"
The corner of his lips twitched up again. "Should I?"
"Guess that's on you to decide." We lingered on each other's gaze for a bit too long. "I think I'll get going." I was the one to avert my eyes in order to talk to my friends, who were already giving me that look. "See you lat— Oi!" Fred swooped the bag I was carrying off my shoulder and hung it on his.
"I'll carry this for you."
"I'm heading to my House."
"Where else would you be heading?" I turned to my friends in confusion, but they only shrugged; I didn't even have time to ask them what was he up to. "C'mon, Miss Slytherin!"
My eyes got big at the name and I spun around, rushing to catch up with him. "I can carry my own bag, you know that right?"
"But then I wouldn't have an excuse to walk with you." I quirked a brow at him when the ginger winked. "Tell me something."
"Like what?" I questioned, a confused yet amused grin dancing on my lips.
He shrugged, averting his gaze to nonchalantly look to the front "Dunno," He changed my bag to his other arm so it wouldn't be between us. "What do you think about Umbridge?"
"Well, she's got terrible taste in clothing." He laughed, and so did I. Just like that, we fell in a quite fluid and enjoyable conversation.

FRED'S P. O. V.
"—And not only that, she's so smart—" I groaned burying my face in my bed's pillow, very aware that I had been talking about Y/n to George and Lee for at least fifteen minutes. "Yesterday she held my hand and I think my face turned red."
Lee's snort was followed by George's words. "So are you gonna ask her out or...?"
I grimaced. The last couple of weeks, somehow I had managed to bump into Y/n everywhere. It was as if the universe was throwing me towards her, but there was a voice in the back of my head that stopped me from making a move. "What if she says no?"
"Freddie, she blantantly flirts with you every time you see her." George stated with his eyebrows raised. "Just ask her out, mate."
"Aight," I nodded. "I'll do it next time I see her."

READER'S P. O. V.
When Adrian Pucey informed me that Crabbe wouldn't be able to play in the upcoming Quidditch match, I instantly regretted accepting my friends' dare of showing up at Quidditch tryouts.
Though I didn't put much effort on it, I got in the team as a reserve, and the moment had come for me to shine. How lovely.
I couldn't really back out of that one, so that's how I ended up in the Slytherin changing room before a match that would be played in the worst conditions. Since I was in deep already, I thought I might as well go for the win with everything I had.
"Oi, Malfoy!" I gestured the kid to come closer, which he did with reluctancy. "Don't give me that look— I don't like you either."
"What."
"You're not half as good as Potter—" Before he started the rant of insults, I spoke again. "Shut it. You're not half as good but you're faster." My words were clear and slow, making sure he would understand. "Keep your eyes on Potter— if he moves, you move."
He seemed to hesitate, weary of my advice, but then he gave me a subtle nod and walked away.
"C'mon, on your feet everyone!" Our captain called us and we obeyed; as we approached our entrance to the pitch, thunders could be heard louder and louder. "We're not only for the win, we're gonna crush them." He shouted, partially so we could hear him over the racket of the storm and the muffled hubbub of the crowd, but also because he wanted us to know how serious he was about it. "Glasses!" I took a deep breath, grasping the bat "Broomsticks!" The gate opened as I mounted my broomstick. "UP!"
"AND HERE COMES SLYTHERIN!!" We heard Lee Jordan's voice as we took off to go around the pitch in formation.
Even before we flew over the Ravenclaw stands, obnoxiously loud cheers of my friends could be heard, and I couldn't help but laugh.
FRED'S P. O. V.
"The hell are they cheering on?" I frowned at the Ravenclaw stands going nuts when our rivals passed over them. "It's bloody Slytherin!"
My brother, who was waiting besides me for the match to start, scanned the stands, and then the opposite team; in an instant, he stood upright and nudged me with his bat. "Oi, look!" George called my attention over the roaring crowd after the Slytherin team had passed over our heads. "The beater! Number 6!"
I looked for their number 6 in the pitch, only finding what George was talking about when they stopped at their starting points. Squinting my eyes, I managed to read through the rain the back of the robe. "Y/l/n— Y/n?!" George laughed loudly, following Angelina's cue and flying to his respective mark in the circle.
"Move!" Katie yelled, flying past me and snapping me out of my awe. Had she always been a beater?
When I reached them, I saw Y/n meticulously making sure she had everything secured.
Our eyes, despite the glasses and the pouring rain, managed to meet seconds before Madam Hooch's blowed her whistle, and I would have sworn she gave me a smile.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
"FRED PAY ATTENTION!" Not even Angelina's yells were enough to bring my mind back to the match, something I regretted instantly; a bludger had been beaten in her direction and nearly knocked her out of the broom. "FUCK!" The quaffle fell from her arm, only to be picked up by one of the Slytherin chasers. "I'M GOING TO MURDER YOU!"
"Sorry!"
"Freddie what the hell!" George had flown to us, probably in hopes to stop the bludger from clocking Angelina. "Will you focus?!"
"Yeah— Sorry!" I apologised again— well, it was more like a grunt rather than an apology. "Go back to Harry!"
"Defend our bloody chasers!" He scolded me before heading off.
I forced myself to keep my eyes on the bludgers and not on Y/n.
The rain kept getting heavier; not even the Impervious charm seemed to work repelling the water from the glasses anymore.
I was cold, drenched, tired and befuddled; my legs were stiff and my arms numb, so I definitely did not see it coming; for that matter, I thought it was a strong blow of wind at first, so the shock that struck me when I was knocked off my broom was a big one.
I heard loud gasps and a scream or two coming from the stands, followed by Lee commenting something about the beater being beaten; in another situation —one where it wouldn't be fucking pouring and I could climb back up to my broom—, I would probably have laughed at it.
But right now, with the hand I held my bat in slipping off the broomstick, the last thing I wanted to do was laugh.
READER'S P. O. V.
Once I had dodged the bludger away from Pucey, my eyes roamed around looking for the other one. which had just been beaten away by Goyle and, intentionally or not, the bludger went straight to Fred.
My heart skipped a beat as I saw his broom flip due to the hit, leaving him clinging onto it.
My eyes went straight to his brother, who was way to far to help, and then to their captain, who was adamant to score points.
"Fuck." I groaned through gritted teeth as I turned my broomstick and flew towards the Gryffindor beater in distress.
"Y/L/N STRAYS FROM HER POSITION AND— FLIES TO WEASLEY?" Jordan's commentaries reached my ears right when I got to Fred. I stretched my arm and grabbed his hand just in time for him not to slip off the broom. He gripped onto my hold for dear life as I used my broom as a leverage to pull him back up, a groan escaping my lips. "LOOKS LIKE NOT ALL SLYTHERINS ARE ARSES!"
I waited until he was steadily secured to let go of his hand. "Next time let go of the bat!" I advised with a teasing grin before flying off to my previous position.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, Y/L/N" I knew I was going to get shit for what I had just done, but I was expecting my captain to wait until the match had ended.
"HE WAS GONNA FALL OFF!" I yelled, louder than necessary.
"WELL LET HIM FALL THE FUCK OFF!" The captain retorted, venom dripping off his tongue. "WITH ANY LUCK HE'LL KILL HIMSELF OFF!" I didn't expect those words to come out, not even from that mouth.
"YOU KNOW WHAT?" I beat an incoming bludger away from us before shouting, "SUCK MY METAPHORICAL DICK, YEAH?!" And with that, I flew off to defend Malfoy, who was rushing to Potter. Surprisingly enough, he had followed my advice. I flew on Malfoy's track, dodging a bludger away twice until he gave a final sprint and caught the snitch.
"SLYTHERIN WINS!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The team started to celebrate as soon as we landed, and I thought I would take advantage of that and change into dry clothes, but I didn't have the chance before someone called my name from the entrance.
"Psst— Y/n." I turned around to see Fred standing there.
"Do you have a death wish?" I spoke quietly, though a smile appeared on my gaze as soon as I saw him. "What on earth are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to thank you for helping me out there." His cold fingertips brushed my wet cheek as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear and he leaned on to place a kiss there. "Aw you're blushing!"
"I'm not blushing, I'm cold," I excused myself, averting my eyes from him.
Maybe it was his loud snort, or maybe the fact that I was missing, but the changing room fell silent as my team's attention was directed to us.
"Oi!" My captain looked Fred up and down, stepping to where we stood. "You're not welcome here."
"Chill," Fred shrugged, his hand lingering on my forearm. "I was congratulating her on her victory." His tone foreshadowed chaos. "Since, you know, it's obviously her doing." I glared at the ginger my hand going to his forearm, silently warning him to stop. "Can't command your own team, can you?"
his arm folded so his palm would be on my forearm too, giving me a reassuring squeeze.
"She should've let you fall off that hand-me-down broom of yours." Fred's grip on my forearm tightened; by the look on his face and the way his jaw clenched, I could tell my teammate had successfully hit a nerve.
"Shut the hell up, will you?" I snapped. "Can't you enjoy the victory without being an arse?"
"You fucking slut—"
"Imaginative." I cut him off, unbothered. "Want a cookie for the effort?"
"Listen now—" Just as he went to grab my bicep, a large hand pushed my captain away, making him stumble back.
"C'mon, mate, give me a reason to beat the shit out of you." Fred said, pulling me to stand besides him instead of between them. Fred's switch was about to flip, and I was desperate for a professor to step in.
As if I had summoned them, i caught a glimpse of Snape and McGonagall walking in my direction from the stairs of the teachers's tower.
"I'd love to see you try." The boy in front of us scoffed. "There's already too much ginger scum besmearing the pure blood, I'll be glad to send you straight to the hosp—"
It was far from expected it would be me punching that asshole strong enough to make him trip and fall.
"Miss Y/l/n!" Oh, right. McGonagall. "Ten points from Slytherin!"
"And fifty points for Slytherin." Snape added in his usual unimpressed tone. "Due to the comradeship you've shown during the match." I widened my eyes at the statement. "Though I can't ignore this, so Y/l/n, turn up in my class tomorrow morning for your punishment. Now, shall we, Minerva?"
"We're leaving too." I informed Fred in low voice, grabbing my bag before pulling him out of the Slytherin changing room.
"That was one hell of a punch." He observed with a chuckle once we were out. "Remind me not to mess with you."
I breathed out a laugh and we fell silent as we walked under the stands towards the exit, the only noise being the rain ricocheting on its structure.
"Thank you." He whispered, his fingers brushing against mines and consequently sending shivers down my spine. "For sticking up for me."
"I expect a reward at the least." I replied, playfully bumping his shoulder before letting my fingers intertwine with his.
"What would that be?" He inquired, that half smile tugging on the corner of his lips.
I shrugged, looking ahead of us with a grin of my own. "That's up to you."
"Will a kiss do?" He mused.
"Depends on how good the kiss is." I begged for my cheeks not yo turn bright red.
In a swift movement he spun me around and his lips landed on mines. His free hand, initially on my cheek, travelled down to my hips, pulling my flush against him while my own hands tangled on his damp hair.
Probably it wasn't a short kiss, but it felt like it when his mouth left mine, and I couldn't help the sight of displeasure that escaped my vocal cords.
He chuckled, our eyes fluttering open at the same time. "Was it good enough?" He teased with a quirked brow.
"Dunno." I muttered, my eyes falling on his lips again. "I think you'll need to try again—"
"To be sure." He finished, and I could only nod; I wouldn't mind the teasing as long as his lips came back to mines.
This time the kiss was deeper, my hands roaming over his wet robes and his over mines; it was only when my back was met with a post that I realized he was backing me into the darker part of the framework, which I did not oppose to.
Quiet moans began to be breathed into the kiss when he nibbled on my lower lip or my hands tugged on his locks.
We had to pull away when steps and voices where heard coming from both changing rooms.
"I think we should kiss more often." He suggested breathless against my lips.
"Agreed."
"I think you should go out with me too."
I had to bite back a laugh. "Agreed again."
"Well, that was easy." The surprised on his gaze was way too amusing.
"Did you think I'd say no?"
"Duh!"
"You're an idiot, Fred Weasley."
"Aw but you love it." He wiggled his brows at me and I smacked his chest.

Disclaimer: Most of the characters as well as some dialogue belong to Pixelberry. I am merely borrowing them.
A little after 1 AM, Las Vegas
Gabe can't help but smirk at the look of mischief in Alex's eyes as they stood by a quiet spot in the middle of Las Vegas. With her in that glittery dress, he somehow can't bring himself to part from her yet.
He knew it wasn't only him who felt that tingling in his fingertips when he brushed her cheeks, her breath smelling strongly of martini. He was very aware that Alex felt the same when she stared back at him, standing at that cramped cheap chapel while an Elvis impersonator stood nearby. The moment she stepped away when he said that it's just all pretend made Gabe's heart ache with regret.
So here they were, standing awkwardly after he shot down her advances again.
But he was sure he didn't want the night to end here.
After calling for a car, he shoved his phone inside the pocket of his slacks and turned to Alex.
"I was serious when I said I wanted a celebratory drink," he glanced apologetically to his side where she stood. "Our hotel bar offers my favorite scotch."
Alex raised her head, smiling. "Knew you had it in you, Gabe."
A car ride and a couple of glasses of Lagavulin later, there they were, lounging on stools at their opulent hotel bar, warm lights and jazz music providing a backdrop on the casual atmosphere.
"And I could not believe the rat thing worked! Who would've known they kept a rat in there as a pet? Like really?" Alex raised her glass to her lips, as Gabe sat on the barstool beside her, cradling his own drink.
"Beginner's luck, I would believe," he chuckled in reply, leaning forward, tie loosened and his coat hanging at the back of his chair.
"I am so offended," Alex gasped as she shoved her hands flat on her chest in mock disbelief. "I'm not only the boring nerd when I was in high school, Gabe. I was that nerd who sang and dance at the drama club!"
Gabe shook his head, his lips pursing. "That makes so much damn sense, Alex." He took another swig of his third shot, fighting for dear life from laughing his heart out. Not wanting to give her that satisfaction, he threw a sarcastic dig at her remark. "That's so believable, seeing you could snatch an Oscar from Meryl Streep herself and the no one wouldn't even bat an eye."
"Ah, law was plan A, sir." she saluted, placing her empty glass on the bar counter. "Acting was a fallback in case it didn't pan out." she giggled.
Gabe grinned as he rolled up his sleeves, beckoning the bartender for another round. "You should have made it your plan A, seeing how you turned out," he teased, bringing up the fun bit they did to retrieve a copy of Lydia Rothswell's marriage certificate. The very same act that almost made Gabe kiss Alex in the middle of The Strip.
"Aww, Gabe, finally found a better lawyer than you? Feeling threatened yet?" Alex leaned in, snickering as their glasses were refilled. "Don't worry, I' ll settle for being a Junior Partner for now," she said as she reclined, before throwing in a playful wink.
"Well someone's head just became bigger," he gave her a smug look.
"Just trying to keep up with all the cockiness in the room," she smiled coyly, watching Gabe's stupefied expression. It was clear then that she scored a slam dunk at the championship of comebacks, laughing at his astonishment.
Gabe finally gave up, joining Alex in her laughter. As their joy receded, he let himself take in the sight of Alex without any inhibitions. What he was beginning to see was the extent of her wit, her ability to keep her cool, and the sharp humor that matched only his.
Under the warm light of the lounge, she brilliantly shone. He couldn't focus at what she was now saying as he danced at the appeal of them becoming more than colleagues. Perhaps he resisted his own feelings long enough that he was past the point of denial. Or simply because he was starting to get drunk.
Though before he can even begin to consider that, he was still sober enough to know that he first needed to tell her the truth.
The truth that sometime long ago, their paths have already crossed. And that he did something very horrible.
Call him cynical, but he wasn't kidding when he admitted he was an all-or-nothing kind of guy. And that meant laying down all his cards on the table. Because for him, Alex was more than the occasional one-night stand. And he can't be certain of how long he could keep himself from his budding feelings, all stakes be damned.
What better time to be honest when there was enough alcohol in his system to prevent all rational thinking? It's now or never, he figured.
"Alex, I -"
"Alessandra? Alessandra Keating?" a deep voice came from behind him, interrupting Gabe. He cocked his head to get a clearer view, as a man with slicked back blonde hair approached from a private booth nearby.
Without hesitation, the tall stranger in the dark suit stepped forward, his striking features Gabe would have easily recognized anywhere. That face was almost in every blockbuster movie in the last five years.
"Julian? What are you doing here?" Alex asked, as abashed as he was. Gabe saw how she clammed up the very second she recognized the man.
"Oh my, it really is you!" the man stopped beside Alex's bar stool, welcoming himself to their company. The way he was looking up and down at her made Gabe's jaw clench so hard, his teeth gritted. But the man's next movement stunned him all the more. In front of him, the man embraced Alex, making Gabe suddenly want to combust. His tumbler could've shattered if he tightened his grip on it a little more.
"Uhm, Julian, hi," Gabe surveyed Alex as she writhed within the man's arms, waiting for any signal from her so he could do something, anything, to make this man go away. But she assured him with one look, shifting a little, making the man who wedged himself between them release her.
"It's been so long! When was the last time I saw you, like, 12, 13 years ago?" the man exclaimed, his annoying smile making Gabe want to slam his fist somewhere. And it wasn't on the bar counter.
Gabe heard Alex scoff, fighting hard to regain her composure. "Yeah, high school," Her icy demeanor took over, one that Gabe only saw in the courtroom. She brushed her dress as she tilted her head to Gabe's direction.
The man turned to Gabe, the surprise evident as he acknowledged Gabe's presence behind him. The two men sized each other up sending an undercurrent of tension between them. Before Gabe could even consider acting out of impulse, Alex cleared her throat to diffuse his temper.
"Julian, this is Gabe. Gabe, this is Julian, my -"
"Ex," Julian interjected, before turning his attention to the lawyer. Apparently, this guy had a habit, Gabe observed. "We were together senior year. Alessandra, my angel, we had the best time together, didn't we? We looked good together, at least after Alex thought to improve her image here. Sadly, we had to break up. Teenage romances, you know?"
The picture couldn't be any clearer; this was the person Alex was speaking about during their dinner back in New York. And hearing the way he talked, no wonder Julian got under her skin. He was a damned manipulative pretentious liar. Gabe could hear the dishonesty between the words, not an ounce of authenticity in sight while the blonde hotshot rambled on.
Alex wasn't showing any sympathy either, her brown eyes staring daggers at him, as he went on about his monologue, emphasizing on how she was his back then. She was clearly infuriated by his attempt to own her, as well as his lack of shame. As Gabe quietly considered her reaction, he deliberated on a strategy to put her out her misery. The moment an idea came to mind, he gave Alex a subtle look asking her to back his play.
Alex nodded, sitting a little straighter. Finding the instant shift in her, Gabe made his move.
"Sweetheart," he slowly raised his voice as he said the endearment, enjoying the contempt from the other guy when he was interrupted. "You never told me Julian Wintour was your ex."
Alex smiled smugly, appearing pleased with the nickname Gabe chose, a clear pun on the whole high school sweetheart trope. "Never crossed my mind, babe. It's such an unimportant detail in my past," she waved her hand dismissively.
"Ah, nonsense," he finished his drink and gestured for the bartender to clean up. "Mr. Wintour's history would have made a good conversation starter." Gabe straightened his vest and stood, collecting his coat. He sauntered towards Alex, circling around the now speechless Julian. He draped his jacket over her shoulders, clearly making a statement before he reached for her hand, wrapping it in his.
"Why? Isn't the shiny nameplate of Senior Partner not good enough?" Alex expertly rode along, locking eyes with her former flame before gazing back at Gabe enticingly. "Forgive him, Julian. My lovely boyfriend here has a bad hobby of underselling himself," she smiled warmly, the irony of her statement eluding her ex. Gabe was about to smirk with her ingenuity, stopping when he felt her arm slowly wrapping around his waist. He barely stifled a groan at the intimacy of her touch.
The other man went beet red at the gesture. For embarrassment or infuriation or both, Gabe didn't fucking care. All he cared about was for Alex to slap this douche's face, metaphorically speaking.
"Anyway, Julian, it's been a pleasure. It's been a long night, and we're about ready to retire at our penthouse suite," steadily, she got up from her seat. The command in her was undeniable, forcing anyone to feel nothing but regret the day they decided Alessandra Keating wasn't good enough for them. Then with a flourish, she turned around as she let Gabe take her away from her past lover's scrutinizing gaze.
Inside the elevator, Gabe caught Alex's exhale of relief, probably thankful that Julian was out of her sight. Gabe still held onto her hand, though Alex didn't seem to notice. As they began their ascent, he waited for her to break the silence, deciding that the questions running in his mind can wait.
"I would have traded my rankings for the look of disbelief in Julian's face," Alex said turning to him, to which Gabe arched his brow.
He smirked devilishly, knowing Alex could take the hint. "I believe I could offer a sight better than that."
She grinned at the innuendo, further lightening up the mood between them. "One day, Gabe, I'll take you up on that," she said, crossing her legs as she leaned on the polished wall behind her. "Though I'm sure you're dying to know... How did I end up dating the Julian Wintour?"
Gabe pondered before answering. "Hmm, actually not the first one that comes to mind, no." He tapped against his temple. "I doubted you would ever bat an eyelash to his direction."
Her eyebrows rose. "Ah, you think so highly of me." She chuckled, shaking her head at his reply. "But yes, he was my ex. And yes, he was the red on my ledger. He was my first love," she admitted. "That ideal, once in a lifetime, true love everyone's talking about? Julian was it, or at least I thought he was." she sighed, glancing at her reflection on the polished metal panel beside her. "But when things started to go downhill for me, he was the first one to walk out," she paused, taking a deep breath. "By cheating on me."
Gabe's body went rigid, clenching his fists so hard until his nails dug unto his palms. What the fucking hell? I know I should have punched that guy's perfect teeth! He decided against airing his vengeful thoughts, staying quiet as he glimpsed at her image on the walls.
"Joey reminded me how Julian made me doubt myself. If I'm really over what he's done to me, if he's still in my head," she continued, rubbing at her nape. Gabe felt her gaze fall on him, which he reciprocated. "But after walking out from him tonight, I am much more certain that I made it out, after all."
Gabe felt her squeeze his hand as she said those words, and his heart somersaulted inside his chest. "So thanks. I needed that little nudge," she said in finality.
He turned to beam at her as he relished the triumph in her words, hoping that it was enough to convey that he was proud of her. And to be part of that discovery about herself, about who she always was in his eyes - someone who was his equal.
When they arrived at her floor, she gently freed her hand from his grasp invoking a sharp exhale from him. She stepped out of the elevator, her gait as undeterred as ever. But then she turned, her soft expression dimmed by the lack of light. "And while we're on the subject of appreciation," she uttered, before dropping one last revelation.
"Thanks for that save you also gave me ten years ago," Alex glanced up at him with half-lidded eyes, her words laced with meaning.
It took him a few moments before he could even comprehend what she was trying to convey. He searched her eyes for some explanation but found none. "What do you mean, Alex?" he said, managing to find his voice.
"I know exactly who you are, Gabriel Ricci."
With that, the doors slowly closed in front of him, her sly smile fading from his sight until he can only see his own reflection. He examined her last sentence, repeating the words over and over in his head. There was only one plausible explanation: she only knew half of the truth. His body sagged against the wall as he shut his eyes, angry at himself.
No Alex, I think you really don't.
Author's Notes: Thank you for your continued reading! As some of you may have already noticed, this part was written purely in Gabe's POV because I wanted to expose his conflicted feelings for Alex. It's probably my own version of revenge, with PB stretching that slow burn as much as they could 🤭 Share your thoughts in the comments, I'd really appreciate it! 💖

Sure to Spark Rumours
Harry Potter x Reader
This story is inspired from a request of my F.R.I.E.N.D.S Themed Prompt List.
Prompts: 4 & 5
"Hi I'm [y/n or Character], I make jokes when I'm uncomfortable."
"I wish I could but I don't want to."
Warnings: a single curse word.
-my first time ever writing for Harry-
Umbridge had it out for Harry. No matter what he did his sheer existence just seemed to land him in strife. She were determined, it appeared, to punish him over even the smallest of incidents. At this point he'd simply come to expect them.
So, as the various groups of students gathered within the Castle Courtyard watched her Tiny, Gargoyle-like figure barrell across the way towards the Boy-Who-Lived, Harry prepared himself for the worst. Although, he had to admit this weren't a particularly "small" incident this time.
Crabbe and Goyle had been tormenting a Hufflepuff second year as Harry noticed passing by on his way to meet Ron and Hermione. He had warned the two if they didn't stop they'd soon regret it. Naturally, they didn't listen. Rather making matters decidedly worse for themselves by shoving the tiny student down against the stone floor. As a result Crabbe currently found himself sprouting Bat wings across his face, while Goyle fished himself from the slime of the Courtyard fountain. Rushing his dimwitted best friend to the infirmary with a lame threat thrown over his shoulder.
An action which of course caught the attention of the Hogwarts High Inquisitor immediately.
"My, my, my. Mr Potter. Care to explain yourself?" She smiled sweetly up at the boy. Harry glared back at the woman before him with an utterly unimpressed expression. "Please, enlighten me, on what possible grounds could one justify such a heinous attack on a fellow pupil?" Silence. Harry didn't trust the words rolling on the tip of his tongue not to make matters infinitely worse than they already were. "Given the circumstances and your rather...unpleasant, track record there really is no alternative. Yes, I'm afraid suspension is the only -"
"It wasn't Harry!" a voice called. Eyes all turned to its source where a girl was striding proudly towards the pair.
"I beg your pardon?" "It was me. I did it, Harry had nothing to do with it." Harrys eyes went wide, mouth falling open slightly at the girls words. "Is that so?" Umbridge spoke in an unconvinced tone. "Yes. They were bullying some second year and I wouldn't stand for it. I hexed Crabbe then stunned Goyle." The girl stood so confidently before them Harry wondered if she weren't crazy. She had to be to confess to such a thing. He didn't even know her name, yes they were in the same year - he'd seen her in a few of his classes but no more than that. Why would she cover for him?
His eyes traced her body, stopping on the tie which hung from her neck. Green. Why on Earth...
"I must say I find your declaration rather unlikely, Miss?"
"[Y/L/N]."
"Miss [Y/L/N]. Seeing as Harry is the one with his wand drawn, standing in the middle of the courtyard and you were not."
"Didn't fancy sticking around after the fact." She stated bluntly. "Check my wand if you dont believe me. See the last spell I cast." The Slytherin pulled her wand from the pocket of her robes, holding it out expectantly for the Teacher to take. "I hardly find that necessary. Potter is clearly the guilty culprit."
"Then why would I confess?"
"To cover for your friend, of course."
"Friend? I'm friend no of Gryffindor."
"Perhaps I'll simply ask the two unfortunate victims of this assault. That ought to clear this matter up."
"They'll never admit to being bested by a Witch. They'll happily feed into your lie that this was Harrys doing. Much to your satisfaction I'm sure."
"My dear girl, why would that ever bring me any satisfaction?"
"Because he's your favourite toy." The girl shot fiercely. "We all know it." Umbridge began grinding her teeth in frustration before her sickly sweet, fake, smile was forced back upon her face. "That's quiet enough." "Is it?"
A crowd had gathered by now, all captivated by the scene before them. By the amount of attitude being spat in their Teachers face.
"Very well, Miss [Y/L/N] if you would accompany me to my office where we can discuss your actions in private."
"Mmm, I wish I could but I don't want to." She smiled. "The walk just isn't worth the punishment you won't give me. Seeing as how I'm Slytherin so, really, why bother with the added leg work."
"This is not a matter of want. It is obligation. It is a direct order a-"
"And I have refused."
"My office, Miss [Y/L/N] now. I won't ask agai-"
"No."
"DETENTION! Miss [Y/L/N]. 6pm. Tomorrow night, my office." The girl grinned before her angry professor "It's a date." "Be late and the repercussions will be...severe." "I wouldn't miss it for the world." She winked, deliberately antagonising her now.
Umbridge turned sharply on her heel, eyeing the gathered crowd with her head held high before strutting away.
Stunned and excited voices began to swirl amongst the onlookers as to what they just witnessed. A Slytherin just stood up for Harry Potter? This was a scandal! It would be interesting to hear the rumours which this sparked through the school by dinner tonight.
"You shouldn't have done that" Harry spoke, finally having found his voice. "You're welcome." "You have no idea what she's like. What she's capable of. What she's-" "You've faced Voldemort head on, don't tell me you're scared of a Strawberry Shitcake in there." She guestured with her head in the direction Umbridge had walked away. Harrys brows furrowed at her comment. He wasn't sure what took him most by surprise; the fact she wasn't afraid to say the true name of You-Know-Who, the amusing nickname for Umbridge or the fact she was making a joke at a time like this. As silence overtook them while he contemplated what had just unfolded the atmosphere quickly became awkward. The pressure of countless eyes bearing down on the pair certainly didn't help.
"Hi, I'm [Y/N] I make jokes when I'm uncomfortable." [Y/N] reached her hand out to Harry in greeting to break the silence between them.
Stunned but rather amused a slight chuckle rolled from the back of Harrys throat while he reached, shaking the outstretched hand.
"Why did you-"
"Save your ass?"
"Yeah."
"Can't let you hold all the attention now can we?' [Y/N] smiled as she placed her hands in her pockets before her smile faded completely. With a quick glance around the square to ensure they were far enough from being within ear shot of anyone over hearing their conversation she continued in a whisper, "Look, I'm a friend of...someone's...who's in your little 'club'. I know what you're doing and I fully support it. So when I heard her talking about your suspension I-I couldn't let that happen."
Harry, yet again, was at a loss as her words clouded his brain. She knew? Who told her? A Slytherin supported him? The swirling of questions made him dizzy and soon found himself feeling very uncomfortable in this situation.
She was so different from any other Slytherin he'd met, she seemed kind and there was something relaxing about being in her presence. Something familiar in the warmth of her smile. The effect she had on him was odd to say the least as he were unable to form a single coherent sentence, left but a stuttering awkward mess.
"You a-you may very well be the first Slytherin to ever get a detention from her." [Y/N] laughed at his comment. Thankful for his ability to restore the light-hearted atmosphere. The two stood staring gleefully between one another for a moment. Perhaps a moment too long...
Harry cleared his throat, running a hand through the soft curls of his untamed hair. "Well I'd-a better get-get going. Ron and Hermione are waiting for me. It's where I was heading before I-I mean you attacked Malfoys cronies." He smiled.
"Yeah, no, of course. I'm sorry to hold you." She spoke sincerely. "Thanks again, if you ever need anything I really owe you." He began walking backwards from her. She nodded in reply before turning to walk back to her friend group when...
"[Y/N]!" Harry was sprinting back towards her. "About that friend of yours, next time they-they're ya know. Tag along. Won't you?" His vivid green eyes flickered frantically between her [E/C] ones. A bright smile spread across her features, "yeah? Okay, absolutely!" "Great! I'll see you there then" Harry had been a bit taken back as she accepted but shock quickly subsidised for something else entirely. Excitement? His heart was fluttering in anticipation as he ran off, a giddy smile on his lips.
Just wait until Ron and Hermione hear about this...

Sometimes I think I would've liked to see John Blake as Robin in more than Nolan's movies. Maybe in a comic, because if Terry got his miniseries of comics after Batman Beyond animated series, then it isn't impossible. Maybe it can't happen because Christopher Nolan didn't have that in mind when he created John Blake, but guys, we can't deny the character has potential.
I mean, he found out by himself, like Tim, that Bruce was Batman. He admired the Dark Knight since he was a little kid and knowing that Bruce became what he became after the death of his parents, being John himself an orphan, motivated him. That's why he decided to be a policeman in the first place and then to make justice by his hands and quite the GCPD.
He believed in Bruce and everything that Batman represented even after the big scandal of Harvey Dent and bla bla bla, which for me is great. He went as far as to go to Wayne's manor to make Bruce wake up and face the world they were living. He's the one who pulled Bruce out of his shell after all those years.
«I figured it out too late. You got to learn to hide the anger, practice smiling in a mirror.
It's like putting on a mask»
Genius line, btw.
They don't show us too much about his past, but he had a hard childhood. Moving to a foster home till his foster parents get frustrated and sent him to an orphanage, all of this after his mother died in a car accident and his father got shot. He felt angry, but never understood. And when he met Bruce Wayne for the first time, he knew he was like him. That he understood. And that he was Batman.
In the movie this is not explain, but John said:
«Right when I saw you, I knew who you really were. I'd seen that look on your face before.
It's the same one I taught myself»
So leaves it to your own interpretation, pretty much the same Nolan does with all his movies. But still a genius line.
John actually cares about the children of Gotham, being a volunteer in his former orphanage and trying to support them in any way possible. He even knows all the names of the orphans and is happy when he learns that Bruce transformed the manor to be the Martha and Thomas Wayne home for children.
At first he is a loyal follower of the law, saying to Jim that he betrayed everything he stood for and showing himself disappointed with what Gordon did. But as the movie progresses, John begins to understand the point of view of the Commissioner, that sometimes you have to break the rules to catch the bad guys. The scene when he becomes aware that he just killed two people is underrated. Also, from the start of the film, we see that John is not exactly an obedient cop, often trying to do risky moves and things he considers necessary. He's reckless and his priorities are far away from the ones of his colleagues. He obeys his own rules.
So Blake leaves the GCPD the moment he realizes, in that bridge, that Batman is gone and Gotham has no one to protect it in a way the police couldn't. He takes the responsibility that Bruce left him.
«You know what you said about structures becoming shackles?
You were right, and I can't take it, the injustice»
That's a character development I enjoyed. Wtf all his lines are genius
John has a lot of things that makes me remember all the other Robins. These are a few I remember.
He's an orphan, like basically half the batfam.
John knew Batman's secret identity from the beginning, like Tim.
He's a person motivated by his past, the anger and the desire of justice. Like everyone.
John called out Bruce on his bullshit, like all his sons do.
He has black hair (???
He killed people, oof.
He looks hella good in a suit, the most important requirement to be a bat.
He often disagrees with the law.
John admired Bruce since he was a child and grow up trying to follow his path. Tim vibes.
Well, he gives all the vibes. With Dick, specially the cop part and the 'I love kids' thing, Jason and his anger when he was a teenager and ofc Tim, cause he trained his skills to achieve a goal. I can't think of things he has in common with Damian (?
Reasons I wanted more of John Blake:
Because his official name is Robin, that's freaking cool.
Bruce trusted him with his legacy.
His story is promising. DC get a whole plot from the 'Dick get shot' thing, I'm sure they can do anything.
He would be a refreshing character, like Terry.
We didn't get the chance to see his trajectory as Robin and that's something I will regret the rest of my life.
Idk I have curiosity of what sort of story it could become. One without a Batman and a new and inexpert Robin having bittersweet adventures. Saying that Bruce is really death or not going back, which could be another reason to make it a series.
Assuming that a comic about Nolan's universe would follow the original storyline. Like Batman Beyond.
Did I already said all his lines are epic af?
The last three draws kinda look like Nightwing symbol more than Batman's
Only reason I don't want more of John Blake:
Because Christopher Nolan ended it there and he's my lord (???
But then, I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt and all the characters he plays and John "Robin" Blake is no exception.
Yeah, I did this because I was rewatching the Dark Knight Rises and it suddenly came to my mind.
I wrote it in 5 minutes I don't even know

To My Best Friend
Title: To My Best Friend
Author: SomeonexSomeone
Word Count: 1609
AU: BestFriend!Johnny
Summary: It’s soft BestFriend!Johnny hours, where you both have to learn that separation is a part of growing up.
Authors Note: Wow! Another story without pairing. This was sparked from my roommate and I realizing one day we will have to live away from each other, which is absolutely heartbreaking. Tweaked a little to fit Johnny, but the feelings are still there. As always, comments and criticism are welcome!
When they first left each other after high school, they made a mutual promise to facetime once a week. Usually, this involved watching movies or tv together, but sometimes it would just be quiet - only scratching pens or the keys clicking away to fill the void of conversation. It was just as good as being in the same room, right? But Johnny’s dream took him to Korea, working alongside other students as they all worked towards debuting into the music world.
That day...it was impossible not to think about it fondly. The day that Johnny left for Korea was monumental for two reasons. One, Johnny Suh was accepted into his dream company and had a high likelihood of debuting with major success. And two, Johnny Suh was a sneaky genius.
"There's a flight that leaves in two hours to New York City," Johnny offhandedly mentioned as the two of you stood in front of the departures. Johnny was finally heading off to Korea of officially start major training, and as his best friend, you would be accompanying him up until the absolute last minute. How could you not? Your best friend in the whole world was leaving for a completely different country for who knows how long. There was no way you weren’t going to at least party it up a little with him before he was gone forever (and by ‘party it up’ it meant sightseeing and trying not to cry about his leaving). So here you now stood, feet planted firmly in front of the ‘Departing’ board, trying with minimal luck to find your gate. You hummed at his statement, but made no further comment, still searching the board. "You should take it." That made you look up at him instantly.
"What?”
"I said, you should take it. The plane. To New York City." Johnny's voice was still unreadable. You scrunched your nose at his tone.
"Why on earth would I get on a plane to New York?"
"Because it's the best location for you to go." You finally turned your body fully to your best friend, but Johnny continued to stare straight forward.
"Johnny, we're supposed to be dropping you off at SM, not taking a surprise detour to New York." Johnny signed heavily, his hands coming up to rest gently on your shoulders.
"You're my best friend in the whole world, and I hope you know I love you more than anything. But your ass is getting on that plane." You opened your mouth in protest, but all it took was a shake of Johnny's head to get you to shut up. "The lease on your parent's apartment is up at the end of this month, which, may I remind you, is in 8 days. I know they would love for you to continue to stay there, but I know you hate how closely they watch you. And I know you haven't been able to find another place - don't say anything, I'm still talking - despite your lame attempts to hide it. New York has everything you'd need, which includes tons of opportunities just waiting for you. You need to take that chance and go for it. You'll regret it your whole life if you don't."
Would you regret it?
Yes, it was true that you hadn't been able to find another place to live, but nothing you had looked at felt right. It just felt wrong to stay in Chicago without Johnny. And yeah, you were slacking on school. It had been months since college started but you had put off applying for so long, too wrapped up in lame excuses - I'm tired, I have work, I can't do it right now. And after your horrible manager fired you for a mistake you were wrongfully blamed for, you hadn’t been doing much. Maybe jumping straight in would be the best option. You would have no excuse to slack off...
"But how would I even live there? I don't have enough money to live in New York," you finally said. Johnny gave you a sly smile.
"I heard there's a lady who owns a building in Queens who is renting to poor college students. Apparently, she has a real soft spot for struggling kids. Something about being a good person or whatever.” Johnny reached up and ruffled your hair playfully. “And, you know, since I already did all this research you should also know that your plane ticket can be exchanged for another flight.” Softly, he added, “If you wanted to, that is."
"Johnny, this is crazy!” You couldn’t help it. Your voice came out shrill, but the surprise was too much to keep your voice calm. It echoed off the walls of the large room, so in a quieter voice, you continued, “You want me to completely drop my life just like that? What about the rest of my stuff?"
"Come on, the flight is in two hours. Plenty of time to get back to the apartment and pack. I know for a fact that all of the stuff you really care about can fit into a suitcase."
You were spellbound. Your friend - your beautiful, kind-hearted, absolutely bat-shit crazy best friend - had gone out of his way in the most stressful time in his life to make sure that his best friend was going to be okay. The tears couldn't be stopped as they started to roll down your cheeks - huge, wet globs that turned black from your cheap mascara and formed a Y shape around your quivering lips. You couldn't help it. You threw your arms around Johnny, sobbing loudly in the middle of the airport for all to see. Onlookers starred as Johnny smiled and patted you gently on the back, stroking your hair.
You did end up taking that plane to New York. You had to practically beg to live in the house Johnny recommended, and spent your first day in New York sending out as many resumes as you could. Full-time, part-time, internships - whatever you could find, you sent. Worked as a waitress at a horrible nightclub near the apartment for a month. Lived like you were in college, with no solid furniture or regular eating habits. Even lived without heat for a while just to keep the WIFI running. But, you were happy.
Across the world, Johnny was thriving in his new location. You called as much as you could, which was a lot more than Johnny was available. Still, just the happy melody of his tone was enough to keep you relatively worry-free. Johnny told you stories of the amazing people he’d met already, a boy named Sehun was particularly fun to be around, apparently, and he made you laugh with all the crazy things he somehow managed to get up to.
Months continued on and you got an internship position at a company for something you were really interested in. Unpaid, for the first six months, but better than nothing. You still worked as a waitress, thankfully at a nice restaurant that didn’t have men leering at you the whole time, waiting to apply for a full-time position. But, even better, the college in New York accepted your application, a hefty scholarship taking a weight off your shoulders and the answer much too easy. You remember the smile on Johnny’s face, megawatt despite the dark circles under his eyes, and congratulated you a thousand times over. A few weeks later, a package full of Korean treats arrived in the mail, a beautiful handwritten card with almost completely illegible handwriting attached along with it that only read ‘love you bitch’. You still had it to this day, hung up on the wall among your other photos.
And when you finally earned enough money, Johnny flew all the way from Korea during his break to help you apartment hunt. It was, of course, exactly like the movies portrayed with blue skies, mile-high skyscrapers, and bustling streets - except every apartment was dingy and small and could barely contain a person, let alone a bed. But you still laughed along with the realtors, both desperate and otherwise (because let’s be honest - most people would live in a roach-infested apartment just to stay in New York), ate cheap hot dogs in between showings, and even managed to drive down to Chicago so Johnny could see his family (which was practically your family too).
And, for the first time since high school, you and Johnny were able to eat together, hug each other, and hang out day and night in person, not keeping your relationship of fast facetime calls with blurry images and indistinguishable audio. You realized just how much you missed Johnny Suh, just how much your life revolved around your best friend, and how much of a comfort Johnny was for you. When no one else was there, Johnny always was, ready to hold your hand our of the darkness.
In that quiet, black night, you rolled over and hugged Johnny close, just one more time. In the morning, Johnny Suh and you would once again be across the world from one another. In the morning, Johnny Suh would be boarding his plane back to Korea and you would be signing a form to stay permanently in New York, and your lives will once again be separated. But, that’s all for the morning. For now, you will hold Johnny close, listening to his deep breath as he finally gets a good night's sleep, feel as his soft hair glides through his fingers, smile as he wraps his arms just as tightly around you, and treasure the moments you still have left.

prophecized pain (michael x fem! reader)
Description: It turns out you aren’t the loyal satanist you thought you were, and Michael just so happens to be the one who brings that to light.
Note: Talk by Hozier is what inspired this honestly. This is my first Michael fanfic and I hope it’s up to par! I appreciate all forms of feedback! Let me know what you think.
Word Count: 1.7k (the rest of the chapters will be much longer!)
Warnings for this chapter include: Cussing.
Chapter One:
You noticed him walk in almost immediately, it was a shift in the air. He looked as if the world had almost legitimately put itself upon his shoulders. He was covered in dirt, and another substance you weren't too curious to think or ask about. His hair, heart, and soul disheveled and you felt as if you shouldn't be able to tell that about a person from their mere appearance. At least not at first glance. He had lost all hope, and you could feel it.
Far too caught up in your own head, you hadn't noticed he'd made his way to the pew you were sat at, plopping down with no mercy and staring straight ahead as the dark priest belted her beliefs to Satan's loyal followers. You snapped your head forward, careful to give the man his own sorrowed privacy. You chimed into the conversation the dark priest was arguing, laughable as it was really everyone was talking, discussing and comparing their own evil actions they had performed for their Dark Lord. Chewing your lip you raised an anxious arm to spill your latest duties, and when the dark priest called upon you, you spoke cautiously. "Lately I've been focused more on stealing money from celebrities and donating it to animal shelters." Hearing a few scoffs you curled in upon yourself. You knew the majority of the people who attended the Satanic Church were murderers, it didn't bother you because you knew they had a primal cause, a destiny to fulfill, but you weren't like most Satanists. Not really.
When the service was over you made your way to the snack deck, plopping grapes and blueberries into your mouth as everyone gathered and planned their next heists. Grabbing a cup full of juice you stared off about to take a sip when you noticed the same man from earlier was staring at the table full of sandwiches. He never made a move to grab one, eyes locked onto the snacks as if they were the forbidden fruits. Setting your pride.. and anxiety aside you took a few cautious strides towards him. He was terrifying in the most unexplainable ways. You cleared your throat and he made no move to turn towards you, only taking a deep breath and tapping his leather boot against the tile. You spoke hesitantly, "You know, you may be new, but these are for everyone and I can tell you're starving." You stepped forward to stand beside him, grabbing a plate and putting a few items onto it and gesturing it towards him. He made no move to take it from you, but turned his head toward you to scan your figure.
"You don't belong here." He spoke, turning his entire body towards you. You flinched away, something about his icy tone and stance had you uneasy. "Care to explain?" you asked him, setting the plate down, just to give him your full attention. He raised an eyebrow, and you could've swore he rolled his eyes. "You, as in the girl who steals money to donate it to fucking charities, does not belong here. You aren't fit to serve my Father when what he craves is chaos. He doesn't need charity work sweetheart, He needs bloodshed and innocence sacrificed to him. Acts of horror your little mind could never conjure up. I've sat in grief for days in the forest, just for him to guide me home and.." he paused and you took that moment to breathe. Catching glimpse of the blood splattered under his sleeves and over his black clothing that was days old at least. "people like you, who are unable to proudly shed blood upon His name aren't worthy of redemption."
You were stunned to say the least. He was steaming and whatever else had him upset before he even brought himself here was fueling him on. How dare he, a strange man you'd never met before, accuse you of not fulfilling your Satanic promise. Of course he was right, you had never shed blood or sold your soul. Far too terrified to get caught by the law and far too scared to bare your neck to the beast. The thought of it sending you spiraling into shame and how dare a stranger have the audacity. How dare he. "What makes you think I haven't fulfilled my promise? Do you always intend to insult strangers, or is that today's theme?" you barked back, trying to feign control.
He really did sigh and roll his eyes this time, entirely fed up it seemed. Running a dirty hand through his golden locks he snarled, "The one bad thing you've ever done is steal the money from that racist youtuber, but then you donated all three hundred million of it to the animal rescue center. You have yet to sacrifice your soul to my Father and then question me on my anger? You can't claim to serve him when you haven't given yourself to him fully. I'm fucking starving" He spoke as he snatched the plate off the table and walked out of the building, leaving you frozen and slack jawed. Never before had you been so confused, he referred to the Dark Lord as his Father, which wasn't unusual at all. Except, there was something about the way he referred to the beast. It was unholy, unwelcoming, and unsafe. You had never met such a strange, yet dark aura. His presence still lingered no matter where you ran to, even in bed late at night or in your early morning shower. The darkness was tainted and you could almost smell it.
Exactly a week later you were back at service, hoping the not so familiar face would stay hidden in whatever shadow he originated from. A week had passed and you still had felt the nagging sensation of what felt like paranoia ever since his stern prophesation to you. You had hoped dearly he wouldn't return, you had hoped he wouldn't taint your mind any further. Fear and curiosity embezzling itself into the depths of your mind. Oddly enough, you completely doubted that was the last time you'd ever see him. In fact you had an aching feeling inside that he was near. It was an overbearing feeling in your chest that had the hairs on the back of your neck astray, and the goosebumps littering your body, rigid. With a shaky body you made your way to your usual pew, noticing a pretty unusual commotion at the front alter. Oh no.
There he was, in all his unholy glory. Wearing a black robe, and clearly he had showered this time around. You were standing now, almost unconsciously making your way to the front, to him. You were prying, way too curious to care about the unforeseen consequences that you being nosy may bring. Then you heard it, "He's the one.." and you froze in place. Time had unbeknowingly stopped, to some that statement would be rather normal, rather funny really. He was the Father's son. He was the Antichrist. You didn't need proof, the prophecy was already proven from the aching fear you had felt for him since you first laid eyes upon him. The way he had ridiculed you for not being worthy of his Father's redemption. It all made sense now.
With wide eyes you took quiet steps back to your seat, hoping no one saw, and hoping no one could sense your distress. Looking up you caught sight of him, preparing to make sacrifice of a young man and woman. He raised the dagger, chanting a loud 'Ave Satanas' along with everyone else there. It took a good nanosecond before he sliced both of their throats, sending them to an unknown realm. It was catastrophic really, the upset feeling you had in your stomach as the blood poured out of their bodies. It was even worse when you realized he had been staring at you for who knows how long. His eyes were glazed over, a pale black as they tore into the deepest depths of your soul. You knew exactly what he wanted as his lip curled up in a little smirk that made you wildly uncomfortable. He wanted, craved almost, you to bare your neck to him. Hand him your soul on a silver platter like everyone else in the building had already. Idealistically you would, considering the main idea of the church was to literally serve him but was it really worth it? No. He'd have free reign to your subconscious, you're carnal desires and deepest regrets. Something so livid about that terrified you into denial.
As he smoothly stepped off the alter, you took that as your momentary sign to vacate the situation. Walking home to avoid being subjected to you're unwanted destiny. Maybe you'd decide to submit but was it really worth it if you had to hand it to him? His very aura had darkness and power you didn't want to dabble with. Comically, you'd rather not cause trouble but you knew if the true Son had been found, the world was soon to meet it's doom. Prophecies were always fulfilled, and soon this one would be too. Why fret over anything when everything would be over soon.
Late at night in bed you were woken to harsh thumps on your door, jumping up you grabbed your sheer black robe and tied a knot in it before checking the time. 3:00AM. You sighed before getting a baseball bat and walking to the front door, "Who is it?" you asked gripping the bat in fear of an intruder. But the hairs sticking up on the back of your neck spoke numbers.
There was a dark chuckle before the door creaked open on it's own, forcing you to stumble back. You raised the bat and prepared to swing, then you saw his face. "Oh. It's you." you sighed before dropping the bat and going to sit on the couch. He was dressed in all black, a turtleneck dress shirt accompanied by dress pants and mens boots. "Who else would visit you at the Devil's hour?" He strung, ice in his tone and trouble in his smile. Raising your hands in mock humor you let out a humorless laugh speaking, "I don't even know your name, yet you randomly show up to my house? Kinda predatory if you ask me." He didn't think that was funny. Not at all.
"Well I wasn't asking.. and my name is Michael Langdon. It's a displeasure to finally meet you."

Seven Princes
Summary:
Seven handsome travelling entertainers capture hearts of the crowd by their amazing voices and artisic dancing as they slowly drain their audience's inner soul magic.
A/N:
Okay so there's not much of the boys here in this chapter. Fear not! This is only the start and I'll be focusing on them more on the next chapters coming. The two characters appearing on this chapter is from my own original story Blood Queen (which you can find on wattpad and my writeblr: annieslibrary) because for me, the au exists in the same universe as them. This chapter and the chapters that has the two of them was only to build up the lore of the universe. They will not be mainly in the story don't worry. I promise next chapter will have all of the boys.

It was a sunny afternoon, with light breeze flowing, gently blowing Rianon's hair. The ex-princess' black hair dances as the wind caresses her face. She daintily walks the crowded street with a bread in hand. It's a long way till they get to Condor, the center of all magic, and they weren't in a hurry anymore. She feels like she went in a vacation after everything that has happened, Rianon thinks a holiday is well deserved. Coming out of war barely scathed requires a great deal of rest.
Walking beside her trusted partner: Indulf, the ex-princess couldn't really ask for more.
"This is nice Indulf. I think taking our time to travel, see the world out there while we try to get to Condor was a great idea."
The lady hunter smiled at Rianon. She couldn't remember the last time she had relaxed, probably never. Since the fall of her small town when she was young in Dilfae; Indulf never really had a rest. This was probably the best time to do it, with the person she cherishes the most.
As they are peacefully walking, side by side, admiring the busy people of the market; ladies who seemed to be in a hurry bumped into the Rianon. She was no longer a frail woman, but the suddeness of the collision caused her to stumble a bit. The ladies shoved them out of the way to run over what seemed to be a gathering of masses from afar.
"What the...! Are you okay?" Indulf asked while helping the other regain her balance. Holding her arm, the redhead hunter glared at the women who bumped them. It was futile because they were out of sight as they have already been swallowed by the large crowd ahead.
"I'm fine." Rianon said off handedly, her interest already piqued by the commotion. "What do you think that is? It looks like a large tent." The ex-princess stood on tippy toes to get a better view, but to no avail, the large mass of people covered up her sight. "I don't know..." Indulf couldn't really care less about what the ruckus, she just wanted to stroll around the market, maybe eat some good food. But Rianon's eyes were shining with curiosity as she walks faster to get into the thick crowd. "Rianon! I don't think it's wise to get involved in that..." The redhead tried to stop her companion. Catching the arms of the princess didn't seem to stop her. She even stopped a woman running towards the crowd as well.
"Hey! Uhmm... What's with that? What's happening?"
Indulf wanted smack her head to her palm but resisted. Even after the bloodbath they have been through, Rianon's excitable child-like character did not cease. It's nice yes, but sometimes Indulf hoped it was gone.
"Oh! The Seven Princes are here!"
"The Seven Princes?"
The woman matched Rianon's excitement. Her eyes were shining and her mouth smiled too wide. It's kind of creepy on the stranger's face.
"Yes! They are seven handsome performers! You should watch them, this is their last night in town!"
And there it is: hook, line and sinker. Once the word 'handsome performers' dropped out of the woman's mouth, Indulf knew she'll regret it.
"Indulf! Performers! Let's go see!"
"Ugh. Why?"
Rianon pouted at her partner, trying to manipulate her into saying yes as she usually does. The lady hunter might say she is tough, but she melts like she always does whenever Rianon pulls out her best techniques. One of them including batting her eyelashes at her while she pouts.
"Please? I haven't seen any shows in a while! You know I love things like these!"
Of course she hasn't watched in a long time, with a raging war in their hands before, a show was in no one's mind.
And as always, Indulf said begrudingly: "Ugh. Fine. Lead the way."
-
A large mass of power was what Indulf felt once she set foot near the tent. Waves and waves of magic tingles her skin. The red magical stone dangling on her neck reacts slightly.
"There's a strong whiff of sorcery here Ria. Can you feel it?"
The other nodded, admiring the large black tent. It was glamorous, as gold shines in the linings of the tent's cloth. "They must be magicians. A group of travelling performers from Condor. Maybe we could ask them if they know how to fix us."
"Maybe... I have a bad feeling about this."
Rianon laughed slightly, a playful judging expression on her face. "You never really liked magic Indulf." With a feigned hurt, Indulf responded. "I do now! Look where it got me." A sly smile graced her mouth as she looked at the ex-princess carefully. Reading her face if she got what the hunter was saying. And she did. A slight tinge on her cheeks surfaced.
Soul swap may have been unfortunate on their first meeting, but by now both can say it was a blessing instead of a curse.
Their moment was interrupted when a tall figure of a man came beside Rianon. Startling the princess when he bent down a little to greet them. "Hey." His face full of sophisticated boyish charm as he grins at them. "Hey..." The two greeted back.
The man was wearing an elegant prince-wear. Black velvet adorned with gold pieces of jewelry. His face, posture and clothes screamed royalty. His eyes shines in different colors. Magic was strong in him and both women can feel it.
"I can't help but notice the two of you when I took a peek earlier. I must say you two are the most beautiful women in this crowd."
A charmer indeed and Rianon was weak for that as she stares at his face while Indulf stood in careful interest.
"Are you one of the performers?" asked the redhead. The man turned his blinding smile and alluring eyes towards Indulf. His eyes crinkling a little, emphasizing the small mole under his left eye. "Yes I am. You're here for the show right?"
"Yes we are!"
"I'm glad to hear that, come with me, I'll get you two the best seats."
He made a slight extravagant gesture of bowing and stretching his hands towards the backdoor of the tent. "We'll go in now? The rest of them are still waiting."
"Think of this as special treatment for special people."
Least to say, the lady hunter was suspicious.
Going inside the tent, both knew the difference the outer and inner structure. If the outside was glamorous, inside was just shining paradise. It was huge with lots of lights around and a stage in the middle of four staged bleachers. The extravagance of it was all magic and it did not escape in both ladies' eyes.
In the middle of it all, on the stage were five men looking as if they are royalty as well. Velvet red and black. They were looking at their other member walking towards them. If the man beside them was tall, the one beaming at them was taller. While the one they first met has slightly darker shade, the man that stopped before them was white. His skin looked as if it was dazzling. And like the first they met, the feeling of power was strong in him too.
"BamBam! You brought in the ladies already?" He smiled at them while teasing his brother. The man beside Rianon whose name was BamBam apparently only laughed. "Hello to the two of you. Thank you for taking interest in us."
Realizing that she was staring with mouth slightly agape, Rianon snapped out of her daze. "Yes! Well, hahaha, I love performers and magicians."
Both men raised their eyebrows as they heard her acknowledge their craft that no ordinary people can pick up on.
Both lead the two to the seat closest to the stage, still chatting them up. "Oh! I forgot to ask, what are your names?"
"I'm Rianon," then she pointed to her companion, "this is Indulf."
"Beautiful names! I'm BamBam and this is Yugyeom."
Indulf was about to ask them if they were performers who came from Condor as entertainers like them usually came from that place. They might me able to help them with their situation right now if they know enough magic. And it seems that they do considering the whole place. But she did not get the chance as both men were called back by the others so they retreated back and bid goodbye.
Indulf really is having a bad feeling about this whole thing.
