I'm currently at the triplet's house. The sun is setting, casting a beautiful orange hue to the living room where we all are sitting, drinking some drinks, and just talking. The music in the background isn't loud but I can hear it clearly.

"Please ask me what my idea is, please, please, please," Nick tries to plead to make us ask him what his idea is.

"So what is ur 'amazing' idea?" I ask looking at him with a serious face. "We're all gonna play twister," Nick says ecstatically clapping his hands together like a kid. "No Nick, we are not playing twister, we're not five," Matt says annoyed. "Oh look I'm Matt, I'm so tuff and boring, I don't like to have fun," Nick mocks Matt, making me and Chris laugh.

"Well I don't know about y'all, but I'm tipsy, there's no way I could play twister right now," Matt says tugging on the collar of his black t-shirt, his eyes from across the room to meet mine, sending butterflies to my stomach.

I've always had a little crush on Matt, but I never really did anything about it, because I didn't want to ruin the friendship between us. I mean yeah, sure I would sometimes tease him, wearing something revealing, making his eyes wander to places they shouldn't, for example, today, I was wearing short, low-waisted shorts and a small leopard print baby tee, but I knew that, me doing something with Matt would probably change the dynamics of the group as a whole, so I left it as is, hoping my crush on Matt would sooner or later die down.

"You're just scared that you'll lose, so I have a proposition, whoever loses takes a shot of vodka," Nick says proudly. "That's the dumbest thing I have heard in my life," Matt says crossing his arms. "Well, as far as I know, five-year-olds can't drink vodka, so who's the five-year-old now huh?" Nick defends his idea. "We all are a bit tipsy so the chances of you winning are fair, you're just a pussy," Nick says trying to provoke Matt. "Yeah Matt, don't be a pussy," Chris joins in. "Okay, that's it, we're playing, and I'm going to win," Matt says and smiles confidently. Nick claps his hands excitedly as he stands up and walks to the pile of board games that are stacked on a shelf above the TV.

"Found it! Y'all are going down, I hope y'all like the taste of losing, because y'all are gonna be licking the L's shortly," Nick says with a devious smile. "Okay, this one's clearly had more than enough to drink," Matt says as he facepalms.

Nick sets up the game, laying the playing pad down on the floor and placing the spinner next to the mat. "So, who wants to go first?" Nick says grinning. "I'll go," Chris answers and bends down to spin the indicator. "Right foot on red." He says out loud and steps on the playing mat. We all take our turns and the game is starting to get intense.

"Nick you are going to lose," Matt says his voice getting higher at the end of the sentence. The poses we are in are criminal. We are four, grown adults standing on this little mat, meant for children. At this point in the game, the slightest movement could make us all fall down. "Chris, you look like a deformed frog," I say as I'm laughing, almost snorting. Chris's right foot is still on red, his left foot is on blue, his right hand on blue, in front of his left leg, and his left hand is in front of his right leg. Nick is chilling in a comfortable position, meanwhile, I'm stretched out, so close to fall.

We all spin a few times. When all of a sudden Chris loses his balance and falls. "Hah, it wasn't even your turn, you're out, take a shot," Nick yells, happy that he's still in the game. "This is so annoying, 100 bucks on Nick falling next," Chris says as he takes a shot of vodka. I'm now in a compromising position, both of my hands are on red and my feet are on green and yellow, my position is leaving my ass high up in the air. Nick is now barely staying in the game.

"Nick it's your turn," Chris says out loudly, the alcohol he's had, making him unaware of the volume he's speaking in. Nick spins the spinner, "right hand green," Chris says. As Nick tried to move his hand, he lost his balance and fell. "Fuck," he yells out as he stands up. "Where my money at?" Chris says as he hands Nick a shot of vodka.

"Spin it," I say to Matt, and he does. "Left hand red," I say and Matt starts to move his left hand. Now both of his hands need to be on red and the only place in order for him not to fall is on either side of my hands. As he moves over me he brushes against my ass making me lose my balance slightly. Placing his hand next to mine, his head is now next to mine, "sorry," he says quietly, his hot breath brushing against my skin, sending shivers down my spine.

It's now my turn and if I don't think of something quickly, I'm going to lose. I look over my shoulder to see what Chris and Nick are doing, they are currently in the kitchen getting some drinks. My lips move making a small grin, this is perfect.

As I reach for the spinner, I pop up my ass, making it brush against Matt's crotch. "Right hand red, looks like I'm safe for now," I say as I turn to Matt, a smirk appearing on my lips.

After taking my turn, I move back, again brushing against his crotch, now feeling something hard. "Don't do that," Matt says in an almost moaning tone. "Do what?" I say looking at him. "Don't try to act all innocent," he says in a serious tone. "It's your turn," I say, a smile plastered on my face.

Matt takes his turn and spins the spinner, "left foot green," He says, looking at the spinner. As he tries to move, I once again pop up my ass, making him brush against it once again, the tension on his crotch getting too much for him, making him lose his balance and he falls. "Ha, I win," I say as I stand up clapping my hands together. Nick and Chris rush over to the living room.

"Did Matt lose?" Nick asks. "Yeah because she cheated," he says, anger and frustration can be heard in his voice. "What did I do, that counts as cheating?" I ask, raising one eyebrow, as a smirk creeps on my lips again, knowing he can't say anything without explaining him further. "Nothing," Matt murmurs. "What's that? I couldn't hear you," I tease him. "I said, nothing," Matt raises his voice, standing up and storming off to his room.

"I am too drunk for this," Chris says throwing up his hands as he turns around and heads to his room. "Can you help me clean this up?" I ask Nick, and he nods kneeling down.

We cleaned everything up and put the game back in its place. "You ready to head to bed?" Nick asks. "You go, I'm going to come later, I'm going to check on Matt," I say as I start walking to Matt's room. "Goodnight Nick," I say smiling. "Goodnight." He answers.

Without knocking I open the door to Matt's room. "Hey, you okay?" I ask as I look at him. He's sitting on the edge of his bed looking straight at me. "I was waiting for you to come in, want to play a game?" Matt says. "Sure, what game?" I ask unsure what game he had planned.

"Since we're playing games, let's play a game you can't cheat in," he says a smirk creeping on his lips. "Simon says, close the door," Matt says. Oh shit, we're already playing. I close the door not moving an inch. "Simon says turn around and lock the door," his voice getting deeper. I do as he says. "Simon says turn back around and stand in front of me," he says. As I turn around, about to walk in front of Matt, my eyes meet his, his eyes grow dark and his lips form a slight grin.

"Simon says strip," he says his tone getting even deeper, a hint of lust accompanying his voice. "What?" I ask, my voice slightly trembling. "You heard me, Simon says strip," he repeats. I start off by taking off my baby tee throwing it on the ground leaving my upper body fully naked. I slip out of my shorts, letting them fall to my ankles before stepping out of them. I pick up my head to look at Matt, he stares me up and down licking his lips.

He stands up and walks closer to me, his hands move my hair to one side of my shoulder, then proceeds to leave a wet kiss on the back of my neck, sending shivers down my spine. His hand reaches over my body, touching my neck as he stands behind me "Left hand red." He says as slides his hand down my neck stopping at my breast. He massages my boob, pulling on my nipple making me moan.

When a supply run into the nearby city gets intercepted by a seemingly reckless and impulsive former patient, the dependable routine Law had settled into in this new life shatters. He finds himself exposed — his body out in the infected landscape, his conscious clawing to define what he believes is right, his heart begrudgingly deciding to find a new home on his sleeve. Maybe there’s more than a virus roaming the new world that can bring a dead man back to life.

Latest Update: [7/21/24] WOWEE did I get myself carried away this morning. I just spent 5 hours organizing my comics and creating the digital comic book pages. I could have spent that time drawing or idk not doing what I do for my job, but I cannot be stopped. Anyway I blocked out 30 pages of this comic last week and they include the most intense action sequence I've ever done in my gotdang life. Wish me luck because I am nervous about tying down all my drawings lmao.

[6/29/24] HULLO! I'm doing so bad at keeping my masterposts updated lately I am sorry. All pages of life after are tagged life after if you're ever looking between masterpost updates! Also exciting update, I finally have figured out all the different plot points i'm gonna be hitting (yay!). I got hung up on something for awhile that made me not wanna work on this project, but I'm back at it. I think we'll end up with 6-7 parts! I have probably another 80-100 pages to draw lol. Also i got the app Magic Poser and it's AWESOME and I immediately used it to block out sets cuz MAN I hate backgrounds.

[6/10/24] HELLO. I'm sorry I've been shit at updating my masterposts lately. It's easiest to do from my computer, which I rarely use, and life has been happening. I also can't believe I bungled the queue and posted pg19 before pg18 i am very sorry 🤦 Eventually I'll have to turn this into an airtable base I'm sure, but until that day comes where I have like 100 pages of this comic we're stickin to the regular post lmao

[4/28/24] HULLO. It’s happeninnng. I’ve spent the last few weeks working on this comic, and I gotta make this post so I can start queuing pages & link this in them! This is the most like….legit? Comic endeavor I’ve undertaken perhaps….ever. I’m very nervous about committing to how long it will need to be lol. This story is dear to my heart — zombie content is kind of my very favorite. I’ve always found it to be a great backdrop for exploring themes like grief, coping with change, community, and learning to live again. It’ll be a long haul but I hope you’ll ride it out with me!! Tomorrow I’ll be posting the first two pages. After that a page will post every Monday/Wednesday/Friday. As of this post I’ve completed over 20 pages so that I have a good lead on what’s posting and continuing to write, so I’m hopeful that’s a cadence I’ll be able to maintain. I’ll update this post weekly to include the most recent pages the way I do with my main comics master post. All pages will be tagged 'Life After' and I'll tag any pages with zombies in them with 'zombie' for blacklisting etc.

backgrounds can absolutely be a struggle but they don't have to be! they just require a little more creative planning~!

whether it be a commission or a personal drawing, if I'm building an elaborate art piece i focus on establishing the background First.

the background is the stage for your character! planning the background first will make it easier to tailor the character's actions and how they interact with the environment around them.

planning the background first can be the difference between your character standing awkwardly front and center with the setting going on behind them, or actually participating in their environment.

if i'm super stumped for background ideas, i browse stock image sites to get inspiration. sometimes it helps to doodle on an image to generate some ideas - kinda like you're playing with JPEGs like dolls.

that said - while i'm pinpointing WHAT i want to draw, i keep the ideas loose. i don't want to focus on the itty-bitty details until i've got the overall aesthetic and layout in mind, as i might get inspired to add something in later!

THUMBNAILING

if you're planning a big piece it can be helpful to break it down into something bite-sized before you go all in and start lining or painting. these are "thumbnails" - fast little sketches that establish the scene in a way that doesn't consume a lot of time or effort. it's also great as a little perspective exercise as a treat.

here i decided i want to draw a character walking home in a back alley street. with these photo references in mind, i can plan a layout and how the character will act in the scene. is this a candid shot? are they posing cutely? are they looking down at us in a tense way? there are many ideas to be had!

after you've chosen the layout / vibe for your idea, you can scale up your thumbnail to your preferred canvas size and start fleshing out the details. be sure to keep referring to your reference images to get additional ideas, such as storefronts, items, props etc!

3D MODELS

If you're trying to create a unique environment that photo references simply cannot help you visualize, 3D models exist! This gives you that ability to rotate / scale things for better visualization. Clip Studio has a vast catalogue of 3D models to download For Free that you can fiddle around with. i know there are many 3D builder sites out there as well, though i've never made use of them so i'm afraid i cannot recommend any off the top of my head. hell, you can even use the Sims game to design a setting and go from there!

also if anyone is going to come into my house and say 3D models are cheating: they are not. using a 3D model to better grasp an angle or get a better idea for perspective is not cheating. using 3D models to help plan the environment in your art is not cheating. they are no different than brushes; these are tools made to HELP YOU. use them!

PERSPECTIVE

perspective and angles can make a HUGE difference in the art piece. there's nothing wrong with static long shots! if that's what you want to draw, do it!! there's no right and wrong here!

but if you're finding your work to be a little robotic and stiff, slap an angle in there. consider an overhead view. these same techniques are applied to photography and film! nothing wrong with wide shots, but every once in a while it can help to throw in a dutch angle.

if there is one note i'd like to leave off on, it's that your backgrounds do not have to be 100% accurate-to-life to be Good. unless realism is something you're really striving for in your style, don't feel compelled to nitpick every brick and leaf in your art. us artists can tend to over-prune our work until our art looks a little bare and soulless. flaws can give your work character, and that's often a lot more appealing than how accurate the scale ratio between background building A and building B are [again, unless you WANT to go for that realistic look then you can fuss over those details all you like].

Have you ever designed a monster yourself? And what makes good and bad monster design?

Wait I'm not sure how you're familiar with me or from where because designing my own monsters is my main thing! Are there other people who might know of my reviews but somehow miss my original stuff?!

I've made the interactive horror/comedy webcomic "Awful Hospital" for nine years now which is up to over a thousand distinct creature designs if we include all background entities.

I've long exceeded a thousand creatures (not all of them released) for Mortasheen, a monster collecting setting I've developed for now roughly twenty two years which is releasing soon as a tabletop RPG

Outside those two "big" ongoing projects I can barely begin to calculate how many monsters I've drawn. There are hundreds more for miscellaneous comics, jokes, graphics for my website and just random miscellany

That's just "finished" things though. If we go by monsters I've only designed as sketched concepts there's at least one, sometimes a few dozen new unique creatures on every page of my used notebooks, the average has 100 pages and I've filled enough of those in 39 years of living that I think I may have possibly come up with more than one million different creatures?

As for the original question though, a good design is one that someone somewhere loves. There aren't bad designs, but there are designs that aren't to my own taste, sometimes designs that I feel aren't right for their intended purpose, and sometimes designs that were forced by someone else in the chain of command to be less interesting than the artist originally pitched. These things don't make the designs themselves bad, but they are all interesting things to analyze and discuss!

My least favorite thing to see is a setting where every monster is just exactly its most basic trope, the same dragon and zombie and dracula vampire everybody knows, but I think most people agree that's boring. Some settings however just need those classics to be a presence for various reasons. Sometimes it's the whole point, which is fine too!

Do you have any theories about who will be High King/Queen? If SJM does go with that story

Rhys seems like an obvious option but I wonder if that's too obvious. The fact that Sarah wrote Cassian thinking "No other male who would be a fairer ruler than Rhys" and Amren saying, "But know that the Cauldron's benevolence will be extended to you only for so long before it's offered to another" has me thinking she's just begging the reader to say, "I know someone!!!!"

I think Lucien is a possible option because of that. He is 100% a male who would be a fairer ruler than Rhys, maybe even more so. Rhys has a complete bias towards the NC, especially Velaris. I'm not saying I don't understand why, he's been the one responsible for the safety of his people for centuries however, he's already made a negative name for himself in other courts because of things he's done, he's not trusted. Lucien, on the other hand, seems to be more concerned about doing the right thing for many courts. Spring, the NC, he shows remorse for letting down the people of Autumn in regards to Jesminda's death, he spent his youth making friends with the sons of other HL (who at this point might even be HLs themselves), he went out of his way to help the humans after the war, etc. Because Lucien doesn't have sole loyalty to any one place, I think he'd be the least biased ruler.

I also think people forget that Sarah has slowly but surely been setting Lucien up for something big. "He was barely in SF! Sarah forgot about him!" Lucien has been one of a handful of characters around since book 1. Even Az / Cassian / Amren / Mor weren't in Sarah's mind when she wrote book 1 and Sarah didn't think the sisters would be more than cardboard cutouts of wicked sisters in book 1. That means Lucien, even before the IC and the sisters, was a fully fleshed out character for her, someone she tells us has always one of her favorite characters. And Lucien has been the only male character since book 1 outside of Rhys who remained a good guy versus Tamlin who Sarah sent in a downward spiral. While Tamlin was left behind in Spring, Sarah had Lucien travel with Feyre to the NC. Sarah had Lucien as the one who met Papa Archeron and Koschei (since she retconned him meeting up with Vassa/ Papa A at a later point and instead had him at the lake with their father). Sarah changed his father so that instead of a tragic backstory that connected him to the Autumn Court, he now has a tragic backstory in the Autumn Court AND a secret Day Court heritage, setting him up to be a possible future HL where he not only has strong powers from his mothers line but that of Helion powers as well. Since I can't imagine Sarah writing Helion off, Lucien is going to need a purpose. In the same book she wrote Helion and Rhys as BFF's, she connected Helion to the Pegasus and Trove items (which are connected to the history of Theia and the Starborn fae) and introduced the High King plotline. And through all of that, she has continued writing Lucien as literal perfection. I'm not even saying that with bias, I'm saying it based on how all other authors / screenwriters write many heroes. He is snarky and sassy while also respectful and humble. He's genuinely good and decent, apologizes and feels remorse. He's intelligent and brave and tries to help out wherever he ends up but is never overly cocky. He's "I want to help however I can because it's the right thing to do" not, "you clearly need me because I'm the best". We as the reader know he's got all sorts of hidden powers that he isn't aware of though he constantly feels like he's not good enough, not strong enough to stop the people he badly wishes he could stop.

The reason Lucien was in the background in SF is because he's not meant to be a major part of the NC. He's not meant to be best friends with Nesta or Cassian. He's not there to serve Nesta's healing arc. It's not difficult to understand that Sarah is setting Lucien up for his own path. There are so many characters connected to the NC but that leaves Lucien as having alllllllll the connections to alllllll the places outside of that. While he is an ally to the NC, he's also the contact for Spring, for the Human Lands, he's going to have strong connections to Autumn because of his brother and mother, he's going to have connections to Day because of his father. Rhys and Feyre will be family to him because I strongly feel Elain and Lucien are endgame but Sarah doesn't need to write Lucien as relying on the NC for anything because they already rely on him for a lot of information. Therefore, we didn't need Lucien having major page time in a Nessian book, Nesta did not serve Lucien's future arc in any way. Cassian did not serve Lucien's arc in any way. And he did not serve their arcs (Valkyrie / Illyrian related stuff) in any way. But that doesn't take away how Sarah when is ready to write about all the other places on their world map (outside of the NC), she already laid the groundwork for Lucien to be the most connected to it all and because of that, I can't imagine anyone who would more easily slide into the role of High King, someone who has already shown he cares about more than just one court and someone who has the experience of being in charge since he kind of ran Spring for Tamlin half the time.

Or maybe Sarah will go a completely different route and put Mor in place as High Queen rather than High King. We know she's of a royal lineage as her bloodline was of the ruling family of the NC before Rhys, we know she was an ally to the humans long ago, we know that she's not 100% committed to the NC and NC alone (since Rhys tells us in ACOFAS that he could see the noose tightening around her neck in the NC, that he could sense her need to roam beyond the borders of the NC.

Sherlock and Shoscombe

So, after the deep dive I did with Sherlock & Co and the issues with the Case of Identity storyline, I thought it was only fair that I talk about their take on The Adventure at Shoscombe Old Place.

*Ahem*.....This was a lot of fun! I just looked up a summary of the original story because I didn't remember it well, and no wonder! It was the very last Sherlock Holmes story Doyle published, later collected into The Casebook, and thus...one of the boring ones. I'm sorry. I really don't like The Casebook stories. It's also the last batch of stories that the Doyle estate was clutching onto before Sherlock went fully into the public domain, which makes the story feel doubly tedious to me.

But! These episodes were a blast! Practically a survey of all the best parts of Sherlock & Co! There's fun banter! Heaps of character background! A really clever update to the original set-up! BRILLIANT acting and foley work! A cheeky cameo! And a truly exciting, satisfying end! I think this is the most direct information we've gotten about John's past since, well ever, but certainly since we learned about his memories of his dad. Now we know that he grew up in a very class-divided town that once felt so much bigger. And he was deeply in love once, with a woman he lost partially because of classism. (Which is such a great mirror for Beatrice and her husband's situation!) He also lost his friends because they had privileges he didn't. (Did John join the military partly as a way to get away from his roots? Out of a desperate need to be praised as a hero?)

No wonder John has so much resentment for the wealthy when it's so deeply personal. I think it's going to be comically awkward and VERY interesting when he finds out that Sherlock is mega super rich. Holmes is often theorized to be the son of a lord in canon. I figure he's at least from a wealthy family that was able to pay for him to go to tons of fancy schools. And then personal tutors. And a full-time staff that always took care of cleaning and stocking up the groceries. (For all his observation skills, I do think Sherlock grew up never considering who made his household run.) I think part of why Sherlock has been so touchy about John's anger at rich people is because Sherlock is SUPER nervous it would ruin their friendship. I am also so pumped to see what the podcast does with Mycroft! I wonder if his autism might be more limiting than Sherlock's. Like he's got the genius skills, he's got the deceptively powerful government job, but he can't handle going out into the world. Going to Baker Street would be an ordeal. Might have a full meltdown if he's not at home, work, or whatever the Diogenes Club is updated to. But.....It's hard to tell how much Sherlock & Co wants us to suspend our disbelief about some things. John and Sherlock have very clearly committed a LOT of crimes on their publicly available podcast. Maybe that will never be addressed or MAYBE Sherlock, Mycroft, or other Holmes allies have been bribing and intervening to keep them from getting arrested. Imagine the drama! "You hate the rich, but you owe all your success to MY money and power, 'Dr.' John Watson!" *Blinks rapidly*

Where was I? Oh yeah, Shoscombe. That. God. Damn. Chase. Scene! So bold for a podcast to have a climax with a car chase at the center. The foley work was top-notch for the driving and the terrain and then the crash and sinking in the lake. Whoever plays John Watson, you did an incredible job! The reckless car chase where, OF COURSE, he still narrates everything, the diving for Robert (and the clever layer of the recorder fritzing), and that CPR! It was all so engaging and believable! I love when John does doctor stuff generally, but this was my favorite example since the gunshot wound at the wedding with The Solitary Cyclist. Not sure I buy Robert's at-home crematorium as being 100% good, but I can believe John thinks so. Might help that John's a bit more desensitized to cutting into corpses than most folks. Finally, I'm sure folks are quite excited that a certain James made a cameo. (Maybe he's interested in why Sherlock and John keep getting away with all their crimes.) I knew he was going to show up at some point, and making Moriarty a listener shout-out is delightful. I just hope it's a while longer before he's ON the show. It always frustrates me when Moriarty winds up becoming basically Lex Luthor. Then again, we've already had similar cameos for Irene Adler and Baskerville Hall (and probably some I've missed) without them showing up yet. We'll see how it goes!

Good job, Sherlock & Co! I'm excited to see what you do next!

Hi Anon :)

I'm guessing you're referring to this post I made a few days ago about the pro ship/anti ship discourse?

Why does it bother you if I use this word specifically? (I'm honestly asking, not trying to pick a fight or anything.)

According to Oxford Languages Dictionary, these are the definitions of the word:

Apart from the actual English Protestant group from a few centuries ago (which would then be capitalized if specifically referred to), it means the following:

“A person with censorious moral beliefs, especially about self-indulgence and sex.”

If there's another word for forbidding or trying to suppress or prohibit certain media content (it doesn't matter if it's books/stories, news, films, etc.) besides “censorship” feel free to use it interchangeably, but I'm not sure there is.

Possible or already existing censorship, while more important in a news-related context, is still an incredibly important topic regarding other content, such as books and stories, published online on sites like tumblr, AO3, Wattpad, FanFiction.net, etc. The sheer amount of stories on there is impossible for actual humans to filter through, which means that algorithms would need to be set up to automatically delete stories when certain criteria are met. Any form of automated algorithm can and will be faulty, however, which means that even stories that wouldn't theoretically “have to be deleted” (according to the AI-powered algorithm, at least) will slip through the cracks and get deleted without warning.

This happened before to Wattpad and FanFiction.net. There was a massive, and I mean massive purge of stories in 2002 and 2012. Only this year, it happened to Wattpad, too. A lot of authors and readers lost their stories immediately, without warning.

The US, for example, has a bill called KOSA (“Kids Online Safety Act”). It works under the disguise (I am absolutely sure that there are some 100% valid points in the bill, though, I am not from the US and have no legal background, so feel free to correct me) of child safety, but is pretty much an overreaching government censorship bill (again, I'm going off of people who know way more about the legalities of all of this). I'll quote someone from a reddit thread that addresses the consequences of the bill.

“It is technically a violation of free speech and the 1st amendment, but that's not gonna stop them. This bill would require that internet users upload their government ID to access any site, and state attorney generals could sue to remove any site that contains content deemed “harmful” to children. This would include fanfiction and fanfiction sites.”

I hope you immediately see the issue and danger of having to upload an ID to be allowed to merely access any website. Not to only view certain things (for example, I wouldn't have any issues if you have to verify your age via ID if, let's say you wanna order cigarettes or alcohol online or something) but to simply view the content and information on the page.

“I have to mention that this bill is dangerous for more reasons than just censoring fan fiction. The government will be able to censor ANYTHING - such as abortion info, LGBTQ+ resources, and any content relating to protesting or organizing. They will also be able to ID you if you search for any of these topics. And VPNs will not work.”

This. This right there is where puritan beliefs and movements get us, long-term and short-term. It has happened before, and it will happen again if we do NOT use our critical thinking and are able to differentiate between written, fictional content, and real life. The US isn't the only country that is considering implementing such laws, Canada has something similar going on with “Bill S-210”.

Internet censorship, which often starts/started with banning not only certain political content, but also under the guise of “protecting the public” is an issue in a LOT of countries and endangers the safety of various groups. China, Palestine, Indonesia, Armenia, Saudi Arabia, etc., Turkmenistan, North Korea (strongly assumed), Turkmenistan, etc. for example.

I know that you only criticized the word “puritan” and I am completely going above what you probably meant, Anon, (and I hope you don't feel attacked or think I put words in your mouth) but I hope to at least make you consider my point of the slippery slope and dangers of the gateway puritan censorship issue. It often starts with the government's reasoning of protecting their citizens or children from something, when long-term and historically speaking, that never ever leads to something good and sets society back by a mile regarding the acceptance of certain issues or free information gathering on various topics and safe exploring (of, for example, sexual topics, or learning about their own sexuality, etc.) for minors.

In my opinion and experience, it's better they figure out what they might like or not like in the safety of stories. Sure, minors are impressionable, and mature content should 100% be tagged as such, including potential trigger warnings, but if done right by the author, it can also educate. Or deliberately show unsafe behavior — which requires media literacy and critical thinking, which can ONLY be gained by consuming the media and analyzing afterwards.

That does not mean that I condone 12-year-olds reading stuff about incest, bestiality, (all in a fictional setting!), or whatever is out there. Not at all! BUT: it's the parents' responsibility to be in charge of teaching their children about internet safety, and perhaps even monitoring (to a healthy extent) what they consume and open discussions about what their children consume.

Authors are nobody's parents but their own children's (if they have any), so it is NOT their responsibility to take care of that. Tagging properly and warning the audience about the content, however, is. No discussion. But this is not just important for the protection of minors, but the mental well-being of adults, too.

I'm open to discussing this topic even more. There are a LOT more nuances and valid points and concerns from both sides, so to speak, but I'll be honest: I'm from a country where the media and government swayed the public's opinion about a certain group a LOT by censoring others in the past, and it literally lead to the death of millions. So critical thinking regarding any type of censorship (even if that scale I just referred to cannot be compared at all, I am well aware of that) and being vigilant about wanting to ban certain media or content under the guise of “protecting” others is something very, very high on my personal priority list because as soon as you learn how easily stuff like this gets out of hand, even if it starts sort of innocently, makes you kind of aware and sensitizes your for a lot of stuff.

I'm sorry if my rambling is all over the place and I hope my reply is readable — English is not my first language, so please excuse it if stuff is unclear or there are any mistakes. And I'm sorry for going completely off the rails. You maybe simply took an issue with the word “puritan” itself. If that's the case, please tell me what exactly your issue with it is, maybe we can talk specifically about this topic then, and not the whole censorship debate I started just now. Maybe we're even on the same page regarding a lot of things.

I mean, if it's from you, it's worth more than its weight in gold in his eyes. I think Mammon is the type to keep absolutely everything you give him. Tickets from when you went to the movies, a rock you found that you claim matches his eyes, one of those weird spider rings from an arcade. You get the point. He is absolutely whipped. So yeah, something nice would be cool. But he would treasure a handmade card or jewelry just as much, if not more. Simply because it's from you.

I think Leviathan would really appreciate something that ties in to one of his interests but isn't super obvious. Like, of course, everyone gets him Ruri Chan or TSL merch. But something from an anime he showed you once or twice means a lot to him but doesn't have a huge fan base? Levi would cry. Because it means you really do listen to his endless rambles. It's more about the fact you care, that you don't tune him out, rather than what the gift itself is.

Take Satan to a used bookstore. You can hold hands while walking through a maze of dubiously organized bookshelves, your pinkies linked together while you browse. Let the fourth born pick out a new book or two. If you want to be extra as hell (pun intended), go the extra mile and get him a cat plushie. Preferably with a green bow wrapped around its neck. It's a guarantee that you will soon find Satan and Catan curled up with a book and some tea. He won't let anyone else know it, but Catan is his most prized possession now.

Asmodeus would absolutely love something romantic. Maybe a simple locket. Heart-shaped and rose gold with a picture of the two of you inside. Preferably a photo where you guys look goofy. Perhaps from one of your spa nights, when you were covered in homemade face masks (that Beel had taste tested…) Or, if you want to go old school, a lock of your hair instead. Something that shows the love you feel for him, as opposed to lust.

This is 100% inspired by the Devilgram where Beelzebub teaches you how to snowboard, but.. I honestly think Beel would be the type of person who prefers an experience over a physical gift. And I'm sure the Devildom has some sort of magic ski resort that is always snowy. So why not spend a day snowboarding with Beel?! You can hit the slopes early and then grab some hot chocolate together, sitting inside by a fire until you can feel your fingers again. End the day with an impromptu snowball fight that leaves you breathless, the cold air stinging your lungs as you both collapse on the ground laughing.

I think Belphegor would appreciate something like one of those paintings of what the night sky looked like on an important date. Like maybe your birthday, or the day you first climbed the stairs to the attic, or your first date. Something like that. A gorgeous watercolor background with an exact chart of what the night sky looked like that day, a moment frozen in time. He would keep it right near his bed so it's the first thing he sees every morning. It makes getting up less awful.

Story

The Hazbin Villianz AU is an AU that takes place after the events of Boku No Hero Academia within the afterlife. This will be focusing more on the big, bad villains who have died during the events of Boku No Hero Academia (however, there are a few exceptions for non canon deaths) and seeing how they would do within a more extreme setting such as the Hellaverse.

Author's Note

For those who are unaware, the concept of the Hellaverse was created by Vivziepop, the creator of Hazbin Hotel. This is not a crossover between characters from both fandoms but is instead a crossover between two very unique concepts and seeing how they mesh together. I'm literally throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks with this AU.

20-25 Minute Episodes

Episode 1 : An Unexpected Reunion (Part 1)

Introduction to first group of main characters. This will reveal each of their goals, problems, family, and some new friends that they have made within Hell. It is unknown whether this is mere fate or just a big coincidence that they were able to reunite.

Episode 2 : An Unexpected Reunion (Part 2)

The second half of the main characters will be introduced and will reveal a bit more about Hell's society as the group tries to get comfortable in their new home for all of eternity.

Episode 3 : New Life, New Powers

The group comes to realize that their quirks are nonexistent within Hell. Instead, they develop new abilities depending on how long they've been in hell. There is not a set in stone moment where demons develop their new supernatural abilities, so they'll have to figure out how to activate them when they wish to use them.

Episode ??? : Family Matters

Another unexpected reunion between Touya and his father, Enji Todoroki, who ended up in hell due to the issues he created within their family. Will begin to introduce the societal standards between Heaven and Hell.

Episode ??? : Research Squad

While researching in the library for information about demon abilities, they can't seem to get any clues as to when or how to develop their abilities further. As the group splits up to find more information, Shigaraki finds a mysterious man who may know something about what they are looking for.

Episode ??? : Extermination

One day, the group is curious as to why demons are more frantic and even going as far as barricading themselves within their homes and buildings. After a bit of investigating, they come to realize that the yearly extermination is almost upon them.

(There are so many more ideas that I could list, but I'm too lazy to do so.)

Sooo... Will this become an actual series?

Well, since I started making this AU by doodling BNHA as Hellaverse characters, I'm not entirely sure what the overall plot would entail. But I will definitely be making fan art and doodles for this AU. So, I guess we'll have to wait and see!

hey, can i please ask what dimensions you use to make your header gif? (I THINK you used to have that thing where you have a little circle gif inside the header as well. If you don't mind sharing how to do that I would appreciate it! If you didn't, please disregard haha)

hiiii!! sorry this took me so long lmao but yes! this was my header for a while and i basically had the circle gif act as my icon (so i just hid my icon under edit appearance) so i'll walk you through how to make it!

ultimately, the header contains 3 separate gifs: liv on the left, liv on the right, and hugh and liv in the circle. i find it easiest to make the gifs all separately first and then bring them all together on what will become the header's canvas,.

i crop, sharpen, color, and then convert each of the 3 gifs into a smart object and plop them onto the header canvas. the dimensions of this one are 640x360 but i believe the header dimensions have changed and are now 580x326 (that's what my current one is) but idk i never had an issue using the larger dimensions so you can try both out and see what you like best!

the original dimensions for the 3 gifs themselves were: 640x360 for the two large gifs and 368x184 for the circle. the circle gif doesn't matter quite as much, just make sure it's at least a few pixels larger than the circle you create when you get to that step!

so once all 3 gifs are turned into smart objects (if you don't know how to do this, when you're in timeline, highlight all your layers and right-click -> convert to smart object. this just makes the whole gif into one layer and they're easier to work with and adjust as necessary.

when i'm blending gifs together, i like to set the background/first layer of the gif to black. it helps when you're blending and your layer masks get really close together and instead of going to a transparent background, it goes to black and i think it gives it a cleaner look. this really is just personal preference and completely optional though!!

anyway, i brought over the two main liv gifs first and played around with where i wanted each one. this is what i have once i figure out the positioning and set both layers to screen.

then you want to add a layer mask to each gif. select each layer separately and press this lil guy at the bottom off your layers panel:

when i'm blending, i pretty much exclusively use a soft round brush. size depends on what i'm blending and the dimensions, but hardness is always set to 0%. on a layer mask, you're going to use either black or white. black removes parts of the gif, white will bring them back. it's a very low-stakes way of getting rid of areas you don't want while not having to worry about deleting too much.

once i'm happy with the blending, this is what my layers ended up looking like (with the black layer beneath), but this will vary depending on your gifs and positioning!

the next step is the ripped paper effect at the bottom (if that's the vibe you're going for). you could theoretically do this with any kind of brush. i just like the look of it so it's not such a harsh transition on my mobile theme from the header to the background color.

these are the brushes i use but i'm sure you can google something to the effect of "ripped/torn paper brush photoshop" and find plenty others.

go ahead and group both of your gifs, your base layer, and any other coloring layers if you didn't color them before transferring them to this canvas. to do this, select all applicable layers and press ctrl+g or right-click -> group from layers.

now select the group and add a layer mask the same way we did with the gifs using the little icon at the bottom of your layers panel. your layers should look like this now:

once your brushes are loaded into photoshop, open up the brush tool by pressing 'b' and select the brush you want to use. i usually try a few different ones out just to see the different edges. you may have to adjust the brush size and make sure the hardness is set to 100% if applicable. before using the brush, make sure the layer mask itself is selected like in the above screenshot and your color is set to black.

when you hover over the canvas with your selected brush, you'll be able to see where the top edge will rest. i keep mine pretty close to the bottom -- i think the highest up this particular one goes is about 50px from the bottom. you should end up with this:

onto the circle/icon!! i truly just ended up eyeballing this size-wise. go ahead and call up the ellipse shape tool. to do this, right click on the shape tool and select ellipse like so:

colors are totally up to you, but i like my shit color-coordinated so i believe i color picked the bottom circle (the outline) from liv's purple dress in the right gif. once you have the ellipse shape tool equipped, click anywhere on your canvas. the dimensions i used were 150x150 but of course feel free to experiment. for a perfect circle, both numbers do need to be the same.

using ctrl+t (the transform tool) drag the circle to the vertical center of your gif and right to the very bottom so it's hanging over into the transparent part. this is what will make it look like your actual icon on your mobile theme.

next, create another circle. i'd recommend using black for this one, but it really doesn't matter. the dimensions for this one are 140x140 (10px less than your outline circle), but again, this will vary depending on the outline dimensions. i liked the thickness of a 10px difference, but you can always increase or decrease that depending on your preference. this circle is going to be the base for your icon gif.

again, use ctrl+t to vertically center your circle and bring it all the way to the bottom just like you did with the outline circle. as long as they're placed/snapped to the exact same location, you'll have a perfectly consistent outline.

go ahead and bring over your icon gif, already sharpened, colored, and converted to a smart object. make sure this layer is directly above your black circle. on your gif layer, right-click -> create clipping mask. ctrl+t to move it to the same location as the circles and adjust it to your liking.

of course, it's completely up to you if you want to add text or overlays or not, but i figured i'd share what i did in case you're curious! (click to enlarge)

and for the overlay, i just grabbed a video off youtube of different light leaks. i only wanted it to be on the two main gifs and not the icon gif, so i plopped it into that group we made and put it at the top, over everything else, and set it to screen like so:

[So he took the scarf. Wrapped it around himself when he felt cold. Maybe even used it to swaddle his new baby girl. Yuebei dragging it around the cave as her security blanket. It being carefully washed and repaired so many times that it's barely red any more.]

that is so cute!!

I love the idea him using it t swaddle Yuebei and then her using it as her baby/security blanket as she grew. I can imagine that she chews on it to stim like Macaque does.

Wukong would probably put a spell of some kind on the scarf to preserve Macaque's scent, but he probably had to be careful when doing it otherwise he ran the risk of also preserving the stench of blood and death.

[And once the reality sets in, Macaque is sobbing at the sight of Yuebei wearing her beloved scarf as he once did.]

I can easily picture him just going and giving Wukong one of the biggest hugs ever when he realizes what he did, and the actual reason why the scarf was gone when he came back.

[Once the woman calms down, she wraps Wukong into a near-crushing hug, thanking and begging him to never ever do something so stupid again.] + [Wukong makes sure to hug DBK when he sees him next, knowing that the Bull feels the same as his wife over the matter.]

as established in other AUs where Wukong is pregnant during the ritual, PIF ain't messing with that bs. she is eternally grateful for Wukong's aid, even more so knowing the risk he put himself at. but two things can be true at once, and she is equally as enraged by his carelessness.

I can just picture the 'waiting room', consisting of the pilgrims, DBK with a baby Red Son, Ne Zha, waiting for news. then Quanyin comes out to let them know that the check-up post Yuebei starting to cry went well and they'll both be alright. but before they can even say a single word, there's suddenly muffled, very loud, non-stop yelling coming from Wukong's room. and they all just, awkwardly sitting there, in the waiting room, patiently waiting for there turns to see Wukong and Yuebei as they can just hear PIF's near incoherent screaming faintly in the background.

Wukong makes a sound like squeaky toy and his eyes bulge out of his head from how hard she squeezes him in that hug. he's pretty sure something in his spine cracks.

DBK can claim all he wants to be stoic, but when it comes to his family? you can be damn sure that the moment he goes into to see Wukong he's holding back tears from how relieved he is that both Wukong and Yuebei are okay. Wukong tries to hug him as hard as PIF just did him in hopes of providing an adequate amount of comfort for his dage.

[at least she stops being afraid of ol' Uncle Bajie when she gets a little bigger.]

now I'm just picturing a little Yuebei, maybe around the beginning of a monkeys toddling age, seeing Bajie again and hiding behind Wukong's leg. more out of shyness/uncertainty at this point, but it's still a dagger to the heart.

[He's immortal, he's indestructable - but that means nothing to him if he can't protect his baby. He knows that mint and licorice, and anti-muscosal formulas help people with poor lungs, but the science back then wasn't 100% sure...] + [All he can really do is to have a fully-stocked pharmacy inside Water-Curtain Cave, and make sure Yuebei stays away from pollen-rich flowers.] + [Wukong cries with relief in the early 20th century when Ventolin, Antihistamines, and Epinephrine become common knowledge.]

Wukong has seen time and time again how little his own immortality means in the face of the mortality of others (esp if he loses Ao Lie at some point when Yuebei was young), it makes him fear for Yuebei's safety to an almost self-harmful degree, like giving himself headaches and stomach aches from worry about losing her.

he probably makes a habit of rather obsessively stocking up on and checking the stock levels of whatever he knows helps, or whatever he thinks might help as he puts that doctorate to good use. even if the king's knowledge is perhaps a little outdated, it def helps and makes a big difference in Yuebei's early life to have a dad who is trained in medicine.

Wukong watches carefully for changes in medicine for any sign of a better solution. Yuebei gets used to her baba coming home and asking her if they could try a new remedy he heard about. the first time he used Ventolin, Antihistamines, or Epinephrine was probably during a sever asthma attack, and Wukong def got very emotional when it actually works as well as it does. [Hard not to when the bodhisattva is so doting over the tiny girl. Yuebei finds a lot of her lessons and treatments boring, but at least for a long time she had Red to hang out with]

imagine if through sitting in on a few of Guanyin's lessons she accidentally/inadvertently begins to cultivate a bit of immortality/enlightenment like the bodhisattva's pet goldfish. that would be a bit of a surprise.

considering the (literal and figurative) fire-yness of both of their personalities, Red Son and Yuebei either got along like, well, a house on fire, or downright hated each other. always getting into squabbles, super competitive, elementary rivals kinda dynamic. Red Son, depending on how old he was when he started leaning into the holier-than-thou attitude, probably was at least a little insensitive if not outright mean about Yuebei's perceived "weakness". tho to be fair, it might also have come from a place of not wanting to get attached in the event Yuebei's health ever took a nosedive considering the time period and infant mortality rate, especially for already sickly children.

this does not stop Red Son from demanding any medical personal to bring her back alive and unharmed while crying himself in the event Yuebei had a sever medical episode while at Guanyin's.

[the Monkey King is hesistant to let anyone tend to his little girl for a long time.]

I can easily imagining that when she was a newborn he was very reluctant to let anyone to close or hold her. probably even had to fight with himself just to put her down at all! everywhere he went, she was in his arms. after all, how else would he know if something happened? she's so delicate, how could he trust anyone else to be gently enough? would they know what to do if she stopped breathing?

all around, it was just safer him to keep her close and handle it should the need arise.

his friends def all still do their best to make sure he's taking care of himself through this, even they can't really get him to open up entirely.

[She likes arcades but they get very loud for her at times. MK is quick to notice when the "Monkey Princess" (as he calls her) gets overstimulated, and suggests that they check out a quieter activity. Like a play.]

MK takes her to the arcade first, and for a while its great! the spend a lot of time playing on the machines, which Yuebei is surprisingly good at given she doesn't have much else to do but play games on FFM. they have a lot of fun, Yuebei's slightly sour mood quickly turning to one of genuine joyfulness, showing MK a side of her he hasn't really seen before. MK calls it a win!

until they try out the zero gravity dance floor.

it's fine, at least at first. but its very crowded, and Yuebei's used to crowds when it comes to other smaller monkeys, but not when almost everyone is bigger than her. all the bodies means it's very hot, too. it's very bright, with lots of strobe lights, and the music is cranked up high and almost everyone is yelling. she's used to heights thanks to her baba's cloud, but she's not used to having the little to no control of a zero gravity environment. that's not even mentioning the physical labor of the dancing.

MK notices her looking overwhelmed and pulls her out quick, but I wouldn't be surprised if they have to take a minute once outside or if Yuebei has a small asthma attack from it all. they go back to the noodle shop in hopes some good noodles will cheer them up from the less then stellar end to the bonding trip.

Tang's happy to see them, they just got some free tickets to a historical shadow play! Yuebei likes some forms of theater, that sounds like its far more speed. MK will have to bring her back to the city the day of the showing.

[the human girl now aching constantly from her body being forced to move like a puppet. The two jokingly compare how one briefly hosted Fire while the other Ice.]

Yuebei, knowing her baba's medical knowledge from first hand experience, reassures Bai He that she's in good hands once Macaque and Wukong start getting their shit together. Bai He probably looks up to Yuebei for being able to handle and somewhat safely expel a power like the Samadhi Fire while not even born yet, and for being fearless enough to take LBD's skull as a trophy. I see Bai He as being quiet and a little meek in contrast, so her and Yuebei probably balance each other out nicely, the ultimate sister duo.

def see Yuebei as being the embodiment of the "she asked for no pickle" meme when it comes to Bai he.

heaven quakes at what the two might the capable of if both truly angered.

[Amnesiac!Wukong, crying too: "I'm so happy to be able to hear that. I was so scared when you tried absorbing the Samadhi Fire...] + [Pigsy and Tang are so emotional over the amnesiac!father-daughter bonding, that they are completely off-guard when the older monkey rattles off some details about the Samadhi Fire that he neglected to let the others in on.]

oh no... this implies that Wukong, when he got amnesia-ed he was at least partially brought to a time seemingly in between the ritual and when Yuebei started crying post-natal. no wonder he initially panicked when he couldn't sense the egg in or around him, it was less about the egg and more so that he couldn't sense her at all. that would be terrifying, I can only imagine his relief when he first sees "her future projection", because its the only thing currently telling him he didn't lose her before even getting to meet her properly.

cute heartfelt moment completely undercut by the confusion of Wukong's terrible communication habits XD, complete record scratch moment, unfortunately he'd only said tiredly as both he and Yuebei were two seconds away from a power nap. Wukong was normal again after he woke up.

the whole thing about them coming to understanding was great, beautiful I must say and Wukong would be emotional over them bonding so I don't have much to add here, but little side tangent. how exactly does the shadow play incident fit into the current timeline given that its now supposedly a thing that Macaque goes out of his way to help Yuebei during a sever medical episode during new years? as stubborn as she is I feel like she'd be less inclined to bust his nose after that, but I love the shadow play thing so much and am really hoping it doesn't get "ret-conned".

[The only reason Azure gets as far as he does with the Memory Scroll is that Yuebei is either A: Not on FFM at the time, or B: Got Memory Scroll'd in the confusion.] + [Otherwise, she starts kicking and punching Azure the second she clocks who he is. MK and Mei are gonna have to drag her off of him.]

imagine if she did get scrolled at about the time that Wukong did. would they stay together or would they be separated? imagine Yuebei alone in the scroll looking through memories majorly made of her beloved baba's suffering. Yuebei's wouldn't be having a great time, I'd say.

if she got scrolled, I imagine she was let out with MK and the others, Wukong still left behind. she recognizes Azure almost immediately.

I feel like Wukong uses a lot of his won stories as cautionary tales for Yuebei growing up, especially ones from his early youth/brotherhood era. she knows Azure by name, and by his face, but not for the reasons he would have hoped. she knows him because he's the one her father warned her about when he said to keep wary of the intentions of those around her, to never lose sight of yourself and your own limits for the approval of another. which means, she also knows him as the one who hurt her baba. a lot.

Azure never stood a chance.

she goes for the throat, but MK and Mei pull her away as Azure tries to explain herself, the whole time she'd interrupting calling him a liar and demanding her baba back. MK agrees with her, but Azure still denies, leading to MK having his own freak out.

both MK and Yuebei scream when the scroll gets cut in half.

much to the horror of the MKrew, she lunges for Azure when he tries to flee, getting caught up in the brotherhood's teleportation. she escapes with Red Son from the Demon Bull castle, and goes with him to warn Heaven. despite many celestials having not ever seen her or possibly even known Wukong had a kid at all, the moment anyone lays eyes on her they just know, her anger towards the brotherhood rivaled only by her own father's post-Furnace rampage (bonus point if she unlocks lazer eyes at some point during the battle, Peng swears their entire back is singed). their too afraid to tell her she can't fight, but Ne Zha does try. when the MKrew show up and get Ne Zha out they manage to get her too, her and MK's combined had tagged teamed Azure, each taking one half of Wukong's scroll.

they scold her for her carelessness, but at the end of the day are just glad she came out of it all miraculously unscathed. she's forced to sit out the next big battle, tasked with keeping count of the mountain's monkey subjects and keeping them calm as a princess would in a crisis, effectively benching her to her own displeasure. but she's not so grumpy about it when Wukong relents and let's her join in on the pre-battle training montage.

Wukong and Macaque are torn between worry, rage, and pride when they inevitably hear. both are having war flashbacks to a younger Wukong. not matter how much the coo at her strength she is mega grounded. for til college.

[I love the idea him using it t swaddle Yuebei and then her using it as her baby/security blanket as she grew. I can imagine that she chews on it to stim like Macaque does.] + [I can easily picture him just going and giving Wukong one of the biggest hugs ever when he realizes what he did, and the actual reason why the scarf was gone when he came back.]

Macaque sees Yuebei with his old scarf and at first thinks "Huh. Weird. Eh. Maybe she just likes red." only to see her chew on it/stim with it like he did and is like "Whoops! So thats where it went!"

Macaque just rolls up purring to Wukong the next time they meet, gesturing to the scarf.

Wukong is a little embarrassed, but admits that "I wanted to keep something of yours for her. It was the only thing I had on hand when she was born so..." and that just leads to an even louder-purring shadow monkey.

And a Yuebei who tries phasing the scarf out of her outfit line-up out of disgust, but fails cus its' her fave item ever.

[as established in other AUs where Wukong is pregnant during the ritual, PIF ain't messing with that bs. she is eternally grateful for Wukong's aid, even more so knowing the risk he put himself at. but two things can be true at once, and she is equally as enraged by his carelessness.] + [they all just, awkwardly sitting there, in the waiting room, patiently waiting for there turns to see Wukong and Yuebei as they can just hear PIF's near incoherent screaming faintly in the background.]

There's Five Major elements in their world, and PIF's anger is the secret sixth one.

Wukong may have saved her baby from a terrible death from internal self-immolation and life-long chronic pain, but he is SO IN TROUBLE for putting himself and his unborn child on the line! PIF nor DBK would forgive themselves if Wukong and/or his baby had perished because of the ritual!

Meanwhile little Yuebei is fast asleep with her scarf-blanket covering her ears while all this is going down.

Also the imagery of PIF's rant being topped off with a hug strong enough to make Wukong squeak like a dog you is so adorable and hilarious. I love it <3 And Wukong doing the same to DBK, who's trying his best no to cry out of worry/relief.

[now I'm just picturing a little Yuebei, maybe around the beginning of a monkeys toddling age, seeing Bajie again and hiding behind Wukong's leg. more out of shyness/uncertainty at this point, but it's still a dagger to the heart.]

Aww, Bajie gets a little emotional when his littlest big brother's baby is scared of him. He's been trying not to be so scary since he's become a monk, but it looks like little kids still see a monster when they look at him. :(

One day though, little Yuebei comes running to "Uncle Piggy", scared of "monster!" chasing her (in reality a toad that startled her). The baby monkey clings to her uncle, clearly less afraid of him then what she saw.

Bajie puts on a big performance of "battling" the toad, brandishing his weapon and declaring the Monkey Princess under his protection. The toad hops away unimpressed. Bajie smiles when Yuebei looks up at him in wonder.

Bajie: "Don't worry Princess. Your Uncle Piggy is scarier than anything in this world. Nothing will ever hurt you when I'm around." Yuebei: (*shyly hugs her Uncle around the neck*) Bajie: (*trying not to cry from the sweetness*)

Bajie seriously considered asking his wife for kids after that interaction.

[Wukong watches carefully for changes in medicine for any sign of a better solution. Yuebei gets used to her baba coming home and asking her if they could try a new remedy he heard about. the first time he used Ventolin, Antihistamines, or Epinephrine was probably during a sever asthma attack, and Wukong def got very emotional when it actually works as well as it does.]

Wukong I feel also donates a fair amount of his wealth to medical research and development - cus while in case what's found can't help Yuebei, it can help others. At least a few hospitals throughout China were built by his generous (and anonymous) donations.

I can just imagine Yuebei overexerting herself one day and having a bad asthma attack. Wukong panics and tries an aerosol he learned might help and... Yuebei recovers in record time! Wukong is overjoyed!

Yuebei is excited too - the medicine is small and portable enough that she doesn't need her baba's pharmacy-sized supplies all the time to bounce back from an attack. And this new medicine can even stop them as they're happening! She def gets a lot more adventurous after Ventolin and whatnot are discovered - and Wukong is happy to let her explore (with supervision)!

[imagine if through sitting in on a few of Guanyin's lessons she accidentally/inadvertently begins to cultivate a bit of immortality/enlightenment like the bodhisattva's pet goldfish. that would be a bit of a surprise.]

Hah! Yuebei accidentally cultivates immortality/dao almost like her baba did when he became Subodhi's student!

Wukong wonders if his immortalities rub off onto his kids, and wonders seriously if Yuebei would like a semester with Subodhi to cultivate her dao.

But luckily dear Auntie Guanyin helps out with that part. A few centuries of meditating and learning from the bodhisattva helped Yuebei to gain exp in her own way.

[Red Son and Yuebei either got along like, well, a house on fire, or downright hated each other. always getting into squabbles, super competitive, elementary rivals kinda dynamic.]

Red def started to get on Yuebei's nerves when his more pompous side started to develop. And Red didn't want the daughter of his dad's greatest enemy to get involved in his plan for world domination - so it was easier to Red to act a jerk and cut contact than dealing with the possibility of fighting his little cousin down the line.

[I can easily imagining that when she was a newborn he was very reluctant to let anyone to close or hold her. probably even had to fight with himself just to put her down at all!]

baby monkeys do be clinging to their mom almost 24/7, but after a while Wukong starts to wonder if he's wearing his baby by this point. He eventually gets so tired that the Stalwarts manage to guide him into his nest and set up Yuebei's own mini-nest next to him. He awoke only briefly panicked, as he immediately could hear and see his sleepy little moonlight beside him.

I feel like the first person to be allowed the privilege to hold the baby is Ao Lie, who's probably still recovering himself from the fire. He wanted to see the little princess up close, and Wukong feared that he may miss the chance if he hesistated.

Ao Lie adored Yuebei from the moment he met her. He never blamed her for what happened. She was worth it.

[Yuebei's slightly sour mood quickly turning to one of genuine joyfulness, showing MK a side of her he hasn't really seen before. MK calls it a win! until they try out the zero gravity dance floor.] + [MK notices her looking overwhelmed and pulls her out quick,]

MK is a good older-brother-figure. He really wants Yuebei to like him, and sometimes can't read the room that she doesn't want to. But even he can recognise someone who's overwhelmed.

Yuebei has a lot of fun with the game machines, and I can see her loving those racing games with the moving seats.

But the anti-gravity dancefloor was just a little too much.

I feel like MK brought Mei along with him too as "friend backup", and while she gets lost in the music, Mei is clued in that Yuebei isn't having fun anymore.

Emergency retreat!

Yuebei is frustrated and embarassed by her reaction, but MK and Mei assure her that they've experienced moments like that. Sometimes you get overstimulated and need to tap out, both mentally and physically. Yuebei feels only a little better at that...

Thanfully here comes dear Mr Tang, checking in on the kiddos on their day out (secretly a favor for a worried Wukong), in case they wanted to cap off the day with a snack or a slow-paceda activity.

And hey! Look at these free tickets to a traditional shadowplay he has! Maybe little Yuebeu might want to come see? :3 It'd be a lot more chilled out and slow paced than the arcades or night market.

[Tang's happy to see them, they just got some free tickets to a historical shadow play! Yuebei likes some forms of theater, that sounds like its far more speed. Macaque still does the Shadow Play, mostly out of a need to "set the record straight" (in his mind) to Yuebei and MK about what happened between him and Wukong.

Yuebei calls BS once the story ends - pointing out that Macaque had abanonded her Baba at the mountain and left him all alone for centuries. Whether out of pride or cowardice, Macaque had been the one to cast "The Hero" into darkness.

The pair of monkeys gnash at eachother throughout the second half of the episode while MK is having a crisis over if people will come to abandon him if they don't like the Him that develops from his new responsibilities.

MK ultimately puts his foot down on Macaque's attempt at a "teaching moment" with the shadow play/lantern. All this tells him is that Macaque never got over Wukong after all that time, even after being the one to break things off.

Macaque is stunned enough that he wordlessly smashes the Lantern, releasing the captured gang, and is about to walk away into his own shadow when...

Yuebei: (*arm reaches in and grabs him*) "Oh no you don't! You are going to say sorry to MK and baba's friends for this! What sort of Warrior runs and hides at being proven wrong!?" Macaque: (*speechless as he sees the sparks of Wukong's righteousness in Yuebei's eyes. And the fact that the little girl is no-selling his shadow magic*) Macaque: "Ok... fine. But only because you asked me to."

A few awkward apologies are given out before Macaque is allowed leave.

MK realises something after the incident when the fam are all at Pigsy's eating dinner. Mei and Tang are relaying the gist of the shadowplay to Wukong (who's very much rolling his eyes at Macaque's choice of story).

MK: "Hey, why did you do that?" Yuebei: "Do what?" MK: "Make Macaque apologise to me. Why did you?" Yuebei, hiding face in scarf: "Cus he was being a jerk! He hid your family away to try and prove a point. A stupid point! He tried saying that you'd forgotten your friends when you were scared that they left you!" MK, proud smile: "Yeah, he did. But you showed him huh?" Yuebei, begruding: "Yeah, I did. And that look on his face when you said he never got over baba was funny too." MK and Yuebei: (*share a sibling-esque laugh and nudge eachother in the sides*)

Wukong smiles at seeing his student and daughter finally start to get along. Even if some of it was stoked by mutual annoyance at Macaque. XD

[def see Yuebei as being the embodiment of the "she asked for no pickle" meme when it comes to Bai he.]

The power of two little girls supporting each other makes Heaven and Hell quake with fear.

Bai He is certainly more of a "tea party and dolls"-kind of girl, while Yuebei is more athletic and tomboyish. They do humor their respective interests - Yuebei does like just being a little girl sometimes, and Bai He has found some yoga methods helpful for physio therapy. They know when the other likes to do something their own speed.

They're duo of fire and ice. Balanced and powerful!

[oh no... this implies that Wukong, when he got amnesia-ed he was at least partially brought to a time seemingly in between the ritual and when Yuebei started crying post-natal. no wonder he initially panicked when he couldn't sense the egg in or around him, it was less about the egg and more so that he couldn't sense her at all.]

Wukong is *panicking* when he can't feel or see his baby. I feel like he went into a minor medical coma after delivering Yuebei after the ritual, and he's convinced for a few solid hours that's the case.

He can't feel his baby, but he sees a "projection/time traveller" of her as a teenager. Thats stuff you see during a near-death experience.

Wukong is calm enough around his daughter's older form, but clearly wants to ask a million questions. He couldn't hear Yuebei crying before he passed out - so it's a major relief to him to see her alive in some form, even if he might not be soon.

He does manage to ask if she's in pain or hurting. Hosting a piece of the Samadhi fire like that has to hurt.

Yuebei lies a little and says she isn't, she's just a little sickly from being born early.

Amnesiac!Wukong sighes with relief, pulling her into another hug. He wants to know his baby's heartbeat before he wakes up from this.

Yuebei just looks dumbfounded when Wukong mentions "the four Rings" offhandedly. She knew the lore, and that Uncle Ao Lie got hurt, but a secret Fourth ring?? Baba tf!?

As she silently panics, Wukong decides it's time for him to "wake up" and goes into another brief astral meditation that reboots him back to normal.

I feel like Yuebei in the Memory Scroll is herself when she was a lot younger/sicker, and had to stay on Fragrant Mountain for her health. Not much is required for her to go back to normal though, MK mentions "Cousin Red" being off the island and possibly in danger, and the sickly little girl is up like a firecracker ready to stab somebody!

After being released from the Scroll at Camel Ridge, Yuebei takes one look at Azure and declares: "Thats the bitch!" and rushes at him teeth bared.

In the chaos of both her and MK going for Azure's throat, Wukong's scroll is cut in half. Azure blames the kids as he does in canon.

Yuebei and her cousin Red flex their synconised fighting skills in Heaven. The celestials are having flashbacks to when Wukong and DBK used to storm and pacify Heaven in their wake.

Their very existances are likely secrets amonst the immortals, so the appearance of Sun Wukong's daughter, and the son of the Demon Bull King (+one of their princessess) coming to defend Heaven against assault?! It's nealry enough to make a grown solider faint.

MONKEY KIDS TEAM UP!

About four seasons of trust-building leads to the biggest grift of their lives! Getting their mentor/dad back from the smelly lion! Yuebei manages to flex a little of shadow magic she learned from Macaque - making her shadow papa mega proud and the Brotherhood further convinced that she's a shadowpeach baby.

Yuebei and Macaque end up bonding a little when they travel through the Memory Scroll together with MK. Yuebei now truly sees how in-love her Baba and Macaque were, and why Wukong raised his baby to know his mate's songs and stories (something Macaque hadn't even known) and scent. Macaque also has the revelation that Wukong was geniunely hurting after their break-up, and vows to make it up to him once this is all resolved.

Baby girl gets to flex her fighiting and her governing abilities! Wukong appeals to Yuebei's jealousy of not being his fighting successor by pointing out something important about his job.

Wukong: "You may not be the one holding my Staff, moonlight. But our people need their future Queen. You are going to inherit our kingdom one day after all!" Yuebei, eyes glittering excitedly: "Queen?"

Cus while MK is Sun Wukong's succesor in fighitng style and heroism, Yuebei is his heir as Monkey King! And thats something she can gloat over!

She goes full Warrior Queen-mode gathering the subjects and bringing them to safety. Macaque and Wukong watch on fondly.

Once Azure is defeated and the Jade Emperor's power secured, Yuebei does get a little grounded for recklessness. But her two monkey dads are overwhemling proud of her for stepping up in the moment.

She's their little Moon Comet Star after all <3
