✰ pairing ⤫ fem!reader x quinn hughes
✰ synopsis ⤫ after some comments were made by Quinn's brothers, you get a little insecure in your relationship and Quinn has to reassure you
✰ content ⤫ 4 year age gap! suggestive?
✰ ⤫ I love writing for quinn so much <3
You and Quinn had been dating a few months now. sneaking around behind everyone's backs including Luke. Your best friend and Quinn's youngest brother.
The four of you were sitting in the living room at the lake house, watching some movie. Jack and Luke were chirping Quinn about some actress that he used to have a crush on. Going on and on about how he had a thing for older women because he was such a mommas boy.
You laughed along at first, always finding it so endearing to watch the brothers bicker back and forth. Even though you've been around to witness it for quite a few years now...it never got old.Your smile quickly faded when Jack started making comments about how all Quinn's relationships with younger women has failed, and that he should go for someone older this time, cause it doesn't seem like the younger girls can handle him.
You know you shouldn't let these comments bother you. It wasn't that serious and it wasn't directed towards you, but it was one of your, if not the biggest insecurity you had when it came to your relationship with Quinn. Being four years younger than him. Not being enough to keep him interested. These comments from two people who probably knew him the best, didn't do anything to reassure you.
"I'll be right back," you whisper, avoiding Quinn's eyes as you make your way to the bathroom.
A few minutes later there's a soft knock on the door and Quinn enters, shutting the door behind him and coming over to where you're standing in front of the sink. He wraps his arms around you from behind, pulling you closer and kissing your shoulder softly.
"What's wrong sweetheart?" he asks you softly
"Nothing," you mumble and he puts his hands on your hips, spinning you around to face him and pushing you against the counter.
"Don't lie to me. I know you well enough to know everything's not okay and even if I didnt this pout is enough to tell me there's something wrong." Quinn says, rubbing circles on your hip and tracing your lips with the thumb of his other hand.
"Do you think I'm too young for you?" the words slip out before you can stop them and Quinn sighs, knowing his brother's comments was the cause of this.
"Age is just a number baby," Quinn says teasingly and you sigh.
"Quinn I'm being serious," you retort, grabbing both of his hands and holding them in yours, the way they were caressing you becoming a little too distracting.
"So am I. I don't care if you're 4 years younger or 4 years older or if you were born the exact same day I was. It doesn't change the fact that you're perfect for me. You know how Jack is, especially if he's been drinking, he can't keep his mouth shut. Especially if there's an opportunity to chrip me about something. If they knew that we were together, he would be more careful about making remarks like that." Quinn says and you bite the inside of your cheek, knowing he was right.
"I'm not ready to tell Luke yet." you say and Quinn nods, expecting that response from you.
"The longer we wait, the worse it's gonna be." Quinn replies and you look down, not wanting to argue about this. again.
Quinn sighs softly before taking his hand out of yours and cupping your face between his palms, planting a soft kiss on your lips.
"God it's torture seeing you all day and not being able to touch you. Kiss you." he says wrapping his arms around your waist and just hugging you for a few minutes. You smile a bit, thinking that this is exactly why he was nicknamed "huggy bear". Your guy loves hugging.
"I'll sneak into your room tonight. If you think a young girl like me can handle you," you quip and Quinn chuckles, knowing you're not gonna let that go for a while.
"I think you can handle me just fine baby" Quinn smirks, slapping your ass as you walk past him, and out the door.

boypussy!hyunjin
-contains mature themes
the boy beneath you squirmed, as you teased him. pushing just the tip of your dick inside him. hyunjin was panting, breathing heavy. his face buried into the pillow at this point. back arched and exposing his most sensitive parts to you. You were worried he wouldn't be able to breath. His cunt clenching around you, trying to suck you in. However you had patience. Never had you imagined doing this.
It all started when...
"uh i need to tell you something" hyunjin had walked inside after finishing practice. his lips were white and his whole demeanor had changed. almost like he was filled with fear and shock.
he sat down next to you on the couch. you switched off whatever you were watching on the tv to give him your full attention.
"I-I...something h-happened i don't k-know but i don't have a d-dic-" he quickly corrected himself.
"male genetilia" he whispered. You had no clue what he was talking about. Nevertheless you stroked his back, letting him place his head on your lap.
The last thing you remembered saying to him was 'i wish u had a pussy for a few days, i could do the things you do to me for a change'
you gasped.
"Did i make this happen?!" you yelled, making hyunjin jump with a start. he looked confused.
"You'll be back to normal in a couple of days, don't worry darling"
.
a day had passed, and hyunjin seemed to be struggling. you decided to tease him. he sat quietly in his room, scrolling through his phone. you walked in, jumping on him. he giggled when you kissed his neck. slowly making your way up to his lips.
"you're so wet aren't you? i should fuck you till you make a mess of yourself." you mumbled in his ear and smiled when his breath hitched. you slipped your hand under his cute versace tee, to lightly rub his tits.
"stopppp"
his mouth dropped open when you pressed your thigh between his legs. he tried closing his legs.
"ahh but-"
"but what?" you questioned. hyunjin shyly looked at you.
"i have my strap on, baby don't worry. we'll go slow"
you kissed him, and he kissed back desperately. tongue messily moving around. in the mean time you had managed to get his pretty checkered pajama pants off.
"here" he whined, grinding against your thigh. his wetness soaking his underwear. moving the fabric to the side your carefully traced his folds. he looked cute, eyes wide, and oversized shirt hanging off his shoulder.
"you're dripping baby" you continued to tease him until he caught your hand. you pushed a finger in slowly. his breathing going slow. you added another. knuckle deep in him.
and thats how you ended up in this state.
.
"m' close, hah.." he cried out, thighs shaking and you pulled out for the 5th time in the past hour. the reaction you got was worth it. he groaned into the pillow, shoulders beginning to shake.
A clear indication that he had finally had it. You had finally broke down that wall of his.
"w-why ? i was so g-good" he muttered, voice cracking. tears flowed down his face, mixing with the sweat and drool on his chin.
you were just giving him back what he would do to you. you, of course took it better. it was quite a sight to see your boyfriend sobbing, begging You to rail Him.
"i know baby i know" you soothed him and he preened at the attention you gave him.
"i'll let you cum this time, hm?" you reassured, running your hand down his back.
You spread his puffy lips with your index and middle finger, biting your lip at how much slick was leaking out.
"such a pretty pussy. makes me wanna knock you up. fuck my babies into you. rail you till you're a mess"
he shook his head...or atleast tried to. hyunjin really was loving every moment of it. You slammed back in, now wasting no time.
hyunjin mewled, jerking forward with each thrust. Loud 'ah ah ahs' leaving him.
Chest to back. you could see his face. struggling to maintain eye contact with you. his eyelids fluttering and his tears distorting his view.
"ah n-no no stop too m-much too muchhh" he wriggled around as your began to play with his clit. eyes rolling back. tongue lawling out.
At one particular hard thrust, he went cross eyed, mouth in an 'o' shape. the sound he let out was beyond pornagraphic. the heat in your abdomen exploding. you could feel the warmth seeping all over your dick. He shivered, his eyes swollen and gaze spaced out.
"aw did my baby cum"
.
pulling him against your side, he sobbed into your neck. thighs pressed together. his cum staining the inside of his soft thighs.
"did so well for me" you praised, leaning over to grab a hairtie from the table beside.
"i-i did?"
"of course you did. made such pretty sounds for me" you tied his hair into a small ponytail. kissing away his tears. he melted into you.
"you're my pretty girl, aren't you?" you weren't expecting him to respond. you tucked a few strands behind his ear. god, was he such a beautiful sight. lips coated in spit.
"i'm your p-pretty girl"

Baby Steps
Main Masterlist Lando Masterlist
Pairing: Finacee!female oc (Kaylen) x Lando Norris
Warnings: Fluffy, Established relationship
Summary: People only knew her as the girlfriend of Lando Norris, but it's a slip-up by Lando that reveals her to be more in an interview.
Requested: NO / yes
Kaylen was walking around the paddock waiting for her fiance, boyfriend; everyone still thought she was the girlfriend of Lando, not the woman who would soon be his wife, his fiancee.
There was nothing she could do about it, she wanted nothing more than to tell the world, but she much more enjoyed the peace of no one knowing but those trusted few.
She ran into a fan of Lando's accidentally, like she literally ran into her.
"I am so sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going. Are you okay?" Kaylen quickly says as she helps the woman she knocked over up.
The friends of the woman came over as the woman stood up. As one of her friends was opening their mouth to say something, the woman beat her to it, "It's okay, I wasn't watching either."
One of the woman's friends' eyes widened in recognition, "You're Lando's girlfriend, your Kaylen!"
Kaylen nods at the girl, "And you are fans of his? All of you?" She meant nothing negative, knowing that some are fans of her fiance's but also like another driver.
"Yeah, we all are fans of Lando. We have some bracelets of him, but we weren't able to give them to him before he walked away." The woman she knocked down told her.
"Well, I can give them to him, or if you stay right here, I'll be right back, and I'll get you some signed merch," Kaylen said. She had had worse run-ins with fans about her being with Lando, but there were many who weren't, and she usually got them like a shirt or hat.
"Really? You would do that?" Another in the group asked.
"Yeah, you must be some of the nicest fans I've met. The last fan I ran into was so rude, and she called me a whore for loving Lando," Kaylen says to them. "Stay right here, I'll be right back, here take my pass and they won't move you away."
When she received a nod, she turned and walked back to the McLaren garage, where Lando seemed to be ready to text her.
"Hey, I was just about to text you. Where were you?" Lando asked as he pulled her into a hug.
"I was exploring as always, and I got bored. But I ran into a fan, quite literally, and they are so nice I promised merch. So, please,' Kaylen asks, well, says to her fiance as she wraps her arms around his neck.
"Alright, hang on," Lando says; he lets go, prompting Kaylen to let go, too.
Lando walks away and returns with a box and a pen, "Lead the way."
Lando has a smile on his face as he says so, "Let's go before I'm called into the next meeting."
Kaylen nods and leads the way to the fans she has met, having seen them in the same spot she left them, "Sorry it took longer than expected. I had to wait for him." After she says something, the fans see Lando behind her with a box, and they are speechless.
Lando just chuckles.
"I told him how we met and that I promised signed merch, and he decided to get out of the paddock," Kaylen said to the group of fans.
Who had regained their voices and were talking a lot, and Lando was signing things from the box of merch and giving them to the fans and putting the bracelets they gave him on his wrist.
When the fans have their merch and leave, Kaylen hugs Lando with a smile before the two walk back to McLaren.
A few days later, Lando is doing an interview where he is supposed to tell the truth, a lie sector test.
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
"No," Lando answers with a chuckle; it's technically true; he doesn't have a girlfriend, but a fiancee.
The man behind the computer nods, signaling that he's telling the truth.
"Oh, do you have many girlfriends?"
Lando puts his head and chuckles, and he thinks to his fans who call him their boyfriend, but none that he himself considers his girlfriend, but what he does think of is the way Kaylen smiles and how she makes him feel, "No, but I've got a fiancee."
After the interview is released, it's all over Twitter X, that he's scared people, thinking he and Kaylen broke up, but then when he says fiancee, fans are shocked, but the response over the new discovery rather than development is amazing, and people love it
A/N: A little short, but I like it.

masterlist | next part
there was a single path connecting the backyard of the two houses, making it almost hard not to run into each other. despite that, you had sworn yourself to never set a foot on said path ever again, always straying away before your feet could touch the concrete.
you hadn't been watching him, but it seemed that theo was doing the same. you had never once spotted him wandering across the yard.
because your eyes were still fixated on the path, you didn't notice the movement in the window across from you, only looking up, when you heard the knocking through your opened window. theo was standing there, watching you with a smirk, before he reached for his pen and wrote something.
he grabbed his bag, winking at you, before he slapped the paper against the window, turning around and walking out of his room before you were able to react.
'bye, pixie' he had written, making you sigh. he had called you that ever since one fateful day in your childhood. because, believe it or not, theo and you had been friends once.
you had been seven when you tried to cut your own hair, much to your mother's dismay, who had dragged you to a hairstylist the same day, eager to fix the mess you had created. there wasn't much to save or fix so you ended up with a rather horrible pixie cut for the next few months.
your hair had eventually grown out to it's normal length, the pixie fading away before you could even start to be ashamed of it, but theo wasn't one to let go of things quickly, so he had been calling you that to this day.
and since your friendship had ended, making room for the hatred towards each other, he seemed to just get a rise of the way it bothered you so much.
you rolled your eyes, pushing back the feeling of annoyance as you dragged your curtain close so you wouldn't have to look at his window anymore.
✦•〰〰〰〰〰★🎸☆⋆。𖦹°‧★〰〰〰〰〰〰•✦
theo arrived at the garage sooner than he would've predicted, lazily leaning his bike against the wall, before he walked inside.
"you're early" mattheo noted, while taking a look at his phone.
"don't flatter yourself" theo smiled, before he ruffled mattheo's hair, sitting down on the couch beside his best friend. "what about the others?"
"enzo forget his guitar, blaise and draco went with him to get it"
"he forgot it again?" theo sighed, leaning back into the cushion.
"he's been acting up quite a lot" mattheo shrugged "maybe it's the stress"
theo shrugged, before he grabbed his bag, taking out the red leather book. "i have something to finish"
"another song?" mattheo furrowed his brows, before he stood up and walked across the room.
"maybe" theo shrugged "i've been working on something" his mind wandered off.
"might not be the worst idea to put out another single right after the album. we'll stay relevant that way" mattheo pointed out and theo nodded absentmindedly. "i'll leave you to it" mattheo walked in the direction of the door, a towel in his hand. he was probably going swimming in the lake that was right next to the garage.
the garage was more of a loft than an actual garage. but it had always been called that and every member of cursed legacy was rather keen on sticking to things.
"we are relevant" theo argued, right before mattheo snuck out the door. he could not hear his answer, if mattheo had even answered anything.
theo sighed as his eyes fell back on the unfinished song in his book. the words had fallen right out of his mind and on the page it seemed. somehow this song had been easier to write than any other he had written. and that had been almost every song on cursed legacy's first album: neon nights.
sometimes mattheo or blaise had helped him. enzo and draco often had ideas for a few lines, but ultimately most of their songs were written by theo.
he jotted down more and more lines, adding the chorus, the bridge. occasionally he stopped writing to play a few notes on draco's keyboard, making sure the lines were fitting the melody. in just less than thirty minutes he had a finished song.
loud noises in front of the door made theo look up from the book. the door was opened by blaise and he entered the garage closely followed by draco and enzo and also mattheo, who had probably run into them right outside.
"hey" enzo greeted "sorry that we're late, honestly my fault, but—“
theo shook his head, interrupting the boy "it's fine, enzo. i want you guys to listen to something"
"sure" draco pushed enzo forward, so he had enough room to sit down on the couch. the rest of their group took their respective seats as well, ready to listen to whatever theo was wanting to show them.
they all listened attentively as theo played the notes on the keyboard, eventually adding the lyrics he had written down, until they were presented with the whole song. they looked at each other, smiling in silent agreement.
"what do you think?" theo asked, but his friends did not answer. they all got up, taking their instruments and resuming to their positions next to him.
"what are you waiting for?" draco asked when theo had not moved to stand in front of the microphone.
"let's record it right now" enzo added when he noticed theo's confused look.
theo smiled upon his friends enthusiam. "sure" he nodded, grabbing his mic and stepping into the middle of their little circle.
thank you so much for reading!!

Counting Cats
Lyney x Overworked!gn!reader
Lyney visits your home after you miss his show, thinking something was amiss. He finds you still awake, busy with work, looking like you havent slept in days. And so, he helps you catch some sleep. I got this idea from Lyney's good night voiceline in the teapot. It's a little strange I couldn't find that like anywhere online?
CW: None, just pure wholesome fluff.
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
"Lyney, you're overreacting." Lynette spoke, following her brother who was headed to your house. They had just finished a show at Opera Epiclese, and Lyney was looking forward to seeing you there. You always came to his shows, yet this night was different. It was the first time he had seen your seat empty.
"I'm not overreacting, Lynette!" Lyney explained. "[Name] never misses my shows, maybe they fell sick or maybe there's an emergency."
"Or maybe they're busy. Like a normal person." Lynette sighed, knowing that her brother wouldn't listen to reason. Not when it came to you, anyway. "I'll be heading home."
"Ah, yes. Go get some sleep, Lynette. I'll head home after making sure [Name] is alright."
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Finally making it to your house, Lyney knocked on the door. He hummed to himself as he waited for you. It was taking quite a while, perhaps you were already asleep? No, it wasn't that late yet, maybe you were getting ready?
"Just a minute!" He heard you call from inside. Not long after, you opened the door and found your boyfriend with his signature charming smile. You blinked a few times, trying to clear your vision. "... Lyney?"
"It's lovely to see you, ma chérie!" He beamed, pulling a rainbow rose out of thin air and pinning it onto your shirt. "You missed my show, I was a little worried."
"Your show?" You reiterated, confused at first until it hit you. "Archons, that was tonight! I'm so sorry, Lyney, I didn't mean to miss it-" a finger was placed upon your lips, shushing you. You looked at the blonde, he had a sympathetic look on his face.
"I'm not upset, I'm just glad nothing serious happened to you, that's all." He leaned in, placing a soft kiss upon your cheek. You felt your shoulders loosen as you let out a content sigh. This man truly had a way with you, able to make stress go away with just a kiss. "But more importantly, you look exhausted, mon amour. Are you alright?"
"I'm alright, I just... Didn't get enough sleep the past few days. Work's been too much lately, I can't sleep well because of it."
"Well that simply won't do!" Lyney took your hand in his, bringing you back inside and into your bedroom. The desk and floor of your room was littered with all kinds of work related powers, and the sheets of your bed were just haphazardly thrown to the side. You hadn't noticed how messy had things had gotten till now.
"Let me clean up, then we can-"
"Tut-tut-tut! No objections." He quickly placed a finger to your lips. With a playful smirk, he headed over to your bed, fluffing up the pillows and tidying the sheets before sitting down upon it. Humming contently to himself, he patted the spot on the bed next to him. "Come to bed, dear, you won't regret it. It's comfy, warm, and best of all, I'm here!"
You playfully rolled your eyes at your boyfriend's antics. You indulged him, not like you had much choice— you know he would've dragged you to bed anyway. As soon as you sat down, Lyney took you in his arms, embracing you tight around the waist and climbing onto the bed. With his back against a pillow and the bed's headboard, he pulled you close. Your head rested against his chest, as you felt the rhythmic rise and fall of his chest, the soft beats of his heart. 'It beats only for you.' He'd often remind you. And you believe him, of course. How could you not? From the gifts to his kisses, and the charming words that leave you hanging on every single one, you had no doubt his love for you was true.
"[Name]? Are you alright? You've been spacing out for a while now." You snapped out of your thoughts upon hearing Lyney's voice.
"I'm fine, Lyney." You smiled reassuringly, snuggling closer to him. "I really appreciate that you want to help me sleep, but I don't think that's going to be easy."
"Well, I always do love a challenge. But this is beyond that." Lyney brushed his fingers through your hair, untangling some of the knots in your hair but took care not to tug too hard. "Not getting enough sleep is bad for your health. I don't want you falling asleep at my shows, too."
"Oh? So that's your true motive?" You couldn't help but laugh, with Lyney laughing along with you. "What's your plan on helping me fall asleep, hm?"
"It's simple, we'll count cats. Now close your eyes, and let your imagination take hold of you." You follow his instruction, shutting your eyes and focusing on his voice. "There we are. Now imagine... The bed is a fluffy cloud, cozy and warm. And on that cloud are floating grin-malkin cats, ready to jump over a ring, like at a circus show, mon amour. Oh, there's a grin-malkin cat, ready to jump. That's one grin-malkin, two grin-malkin, three grin- malkin..."
Lyney continued to count and by the 20th cat, he glanced down at your sleeping figure, seeing you finally sound asleep. He smiled softly, getting under the covers to cuddle with you, resting your head on his chest. Placing a kiss on your forehead, he closed his eyes to join you in slumber.
"Sweet dreams, [Name]."
. ⋅ ˚̣- : ✧ : – ⭒ ⊹ ⭒ – : ✧ : -˚̣⋅ .
Hope you guys enjoyed reading this, to be honest, I was a little scared to post more but seeing as a lot of people liked my first Lyney x reader, I got the confidence to write more. I have an idea for a Kabukimono x reader, it'll be up hopefully before the end of the week!

Fool For Love
part 8
~~~
part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5, part 6, part 7
~~~
Author's Note: Sorry this took longer than usual, it was a stressful week at work and I didn't have time or energy to write as much as I wanted. There will be at least one more part, but I'm hoping I'll wrap things up next time (but honestly who knows with these two)
More act 2 spoilers this time!

Astarion x reader/Tav
Tags: (mildish?) angst, pining, pining while fucking, jealousy, minor Karlach/Dammon, non-explicit injuries, eventual happy ending
Summary: You thought you knew what you were doing when you let Astarion into your bed. He doesn’t have feelings for you, and vice versa. Only…now you do.
Up until now, you’ve not been handling it very well, but you make an effort to move past it. Past him.
~~~
You keep your promise to yourself fairly well in the following days. The Shadowlands, as expected, keep you busy with new mysteries and clues — and plenty of battles — and most of the time, you manage to remain focused on the task at hand.
Perhaps your heartbeat picks up a notch every time Astarion is near, but you ignore it. And maybe, just maybe, you stare at him a smidge too long when he’s not looking, but only when you know it doesn’t pull your attention away from something important.
You’ve caught him watching you too, but you keep your distance. No distractions, not even for a quick roll in the proverbial hay.
Everything is going relatively alright — until it doesn’t.
Thanks to the psionic detector, the Githyanki ambush doesn’t catch you off-guard, but you learn quickly that you have underestimated the danger they pose.
Perhaps you all got too cocky these last few days — too many easily-won battles that have boosted your confidence into thinking that this too will be readily handled.
In retrospect, you should’ve returned to stock up on scrolls and potions before taking them on. Too late now.
It’s a drawn-out battle, wearing you all out little by little, but if it’s anything you and your friends are, it’s tenacious — and after what feels like an eternity, you’re down to one foe. It’s their leader, but even with all of you severely injured, you should be able to take them out.
You grin as Karlach deals a critical hit with her halberd, finishing the Githyanki off with a savage roar.
“Gods, that was close.”
“Too close, Astarion says as he sheaths his swords. Things aren’t exactly good between you, but it has been getting better. “Next time we contemplate doing something this stupid, how about we don’t?”
“You’re just cranky ‘cause you didn’t get to bite either of them.” Karlach nudges him with a grin. “Isn’t that right, Fangs?”
You’re still laughing when something behind the others steals your attention.
One of the other Githyanki. You saw them get felled by one of Shadowheart’s spells, but perhaps they only got knocked out.
You stop breathing when you realise that not only are they alive — but they have an arrow notched, ready to fire.
And it’s aimed at Astarion.
It’s too late to stop the arrow as they, at that moment, let it fly — so you do the only thing you can think of.
“Tav, what–”
You push him out of the way, but it’s not fast enough.
The pain of the arrow piercing you is blinding; you think you might be screaming.
“Tav!”
You sag to the ground, and the last thing you see is Astarion looking at you with a panicked expression. At least he’s okay, you think.
After that, everything fades to black.
“…Calm down, Astarion, Tav will be alright.”
“They don’t look alright! Why aren’t you doing more?”
“The only thing we can do now is wait. If you can’t behave, leave. We’ll find you when Tav wakes up.”
You’re vaguely aware of the voices, but you’re not quite capable of parsing what they’re saying.
“Hah! And leave them alone with you lot? I don’t think so.”
Why does everyone sound so upset? You can’t remember, and before your mind is clear enough to figure it out, you drift back into unconsciousness.
Your mind still feels like a blur when you come to next. You think someone might be holding your hand, but it’s difficult to be sure when you’re groggy with pain. And you’re not ready to open your eyes just yet.
“Why, oh, why, must you always play the hero? And for me, of all people?”
You recognise the low-pitched voice. Astarion. Why is he here?
“So stupid.” What feels like hair brushes against the back of your hand. “I’m not worth you losing your life.”
“Sure you are,” you press out, because it’s that simple. “I’d do anything for you.”
He inhales sharply. “Tav? Tav, darling, open your eyes for me.”
You reluctantly do as he asks, and it surprises you to find him looking uncharacteristically dishevelled.
“There you are. You had us worried, you know.”
“Astarion.”
“I’ll go and get the others.”
“Astarion.”
Before you can stop him, he leaves, and when he returns with the rest of your friends, he sticks to the background, letting the others dote on you.
You want him to come back, want him to hold your hand again. If the others weren't around, you might have asked him to. Instead, you see him sneak out of the tent when Karlach starts admonishing you for your brave yet careless stunt.
You love them all so much, but in that moment you’re this close to telling them all to leave. You would have, if you didn’t know that they probably need this to ease their own worries.
Still, you’re eternally grateful when Shadowheart ten minutes later shoo everyone out of your tent. She’s about to leave too when she turns to give you a secretive smile.
“You said his name, you know. More than once. When we carried you back to camp.”
With a bone-deep groan, you hide your face in your hands. “Please tell me he didn’t hear.”
“Oh, he most definitely did. But you know how he is, after the initial surprise, his expression turned blank. But his eyes never left you after that.” She huffs a laugh. “Not that he let you out of his sight before that. The only one allowed to carry you was Karlach.”
It sounds too good to be true. “Really?”
“I thought he was going to attack Halsin when he bent down to pick you up.”
“Why would he do that?” It truly makes no sense.
“Jealousy, of course.”
“Astarion? Jealous?”
Instead of answering, she just gives you a wink. “Seems like you two have that in common. Now make sure to rest, alright? I’ll come by with something to eat later.”
“Right.” Your head is spinning, and not only because you're recovering from an injury. “Thank you, Shadowheart.”
You want to process everything you just learned but your body is not having it; in mere minutes, you’re back under again.
No one is holding your hand when you hours later rouse from sleep. Strange that, how your mind seems to have expected it just because it happened last time. When Astarion was sitting by your side.
Astarion.
You have to find him.
It still hurts like hell, but the pain level is manageable. Perhaps a grunt or two slips out of you as you drag yourself up to standing, but no one’s there to give you grief about it so it’s fine. It’s nothing you can’t handle.
It’s dark outside, but you should’ve known better than to think that that would be enough to let you sneak away unnoticed.
“And just where do you think you’re going, soldier?”
Karlach.
“I need to see him.” She already knows, so you might as well get right to the point.
She sighs. “You’re not going to take no for an answer, are you?”
“No.”
“What if I go and find him for you?”
“Karlach.”
“Fiiiine. But only because I was already heading that way, anyway.”
“Dammon?”
Her besotted smile is a fetching look on her and you would hug her if you didn’t think it would hurt too much.
“Yeaaah. And last time I saw Astarion, he was heading in that direction.”
You don’t talk much on the walk over to the inn, your mind too busy going over and over what you want to say. What you want to ask him.
“You alright there, soldier?”
“Mmm, yeah. Maybe a bit nervous.” Because it’s truly dawning on you what you’re about to do. What if you’ve got it all wrong?
“Hah, trust me, you’ve got nothing to worry about.” Her gentle squeeze on your arm feels reassuring. At least a little bit. She glances over her shoulder at the smithy where a fire is still burning. “And this is where I leave you.”
“I’m happy for you, Karlach.”
“Thank you, Tav. I’d say good luck but I don’t think you’ll need it. Now go and shake some sense into the vampire of yours.”
“Will do,” you say, even though you’re not sure you mean it. Every plan you’ve made so far involving this man has gone sideways, so who’s to say it won’t this time?
Taking a deep breath, you find yourself remaining where you are. Stalling.
“Should you really be up and about, Tav?”
“Jaheira.” You are so caught up in your own thoughts that you didn’t hear her approach. Turning around to face her, you give her a small smile. “I have something important I need to do.”
“I see.” With a slight bow of her head, she acknowledges your wish for privacy. “It’s good that you’re here, I wanted to thank you for your help the other day. I’m not sure we would still be standing if it weren’t for you and your friends.”
“Trust me, I’m just as happy as you are about that. And you made quite the dent in enemy forces yourself, taking down several of those winged horrors.”
“Their deaths wouldn’t have mattered if you hadn’t dealt with Marcus.”
“Still.” Jaheira is a force to be reckoned with, no doubt about it. “We could use someone of your calibre in our party.”
“Thank you for the offer, but I’m needed here.”
“I understand.” Something in her expression tells you that she’s tempted. “Consider it an open invitation. In case you change your mind.”
“I will, thank you.”
“You don’t happen to know if Astarion is here somewhere?” You decide you might as well save yourself some time and ask. “Karlach told me she had seen him head this way.”
“He came here a while ago, yes. I think he’s down by the water.” She nods in the direction between the inn and the barn.
“Thank you.”
Richkid!Ateez
a/n: no jongho in this because it was a request inspired by my original richkid jongho post as well as part 2.
hongjoong
you first met hongjoong when you stumbled upon him in an empty classroom long after school had ended
as the vice president for the arts club, you, along with the president of the club, were tasked with gathering some extra supplies
the two of you had gone to the administration to ask for more funding to buy some new supplies, ones that didn't look like they had been run through by a pack of first graders
but admin didn't seem to particularly care for such trivial things like the arts
dismissing you quite quickly and telling you to look for extra supplies around the school
and so, you and the president were tasked with going through every singly empty classroom in hopes of scrounging together some decent supplies
the president had taken the east side of the school, while you looked on the west side in hopes of covering more ground
dragging your feet, you walked towards the last classroom of your side of the school
so far, you had only managed to find a few more packs of colored pencils and markers
and although it wasn't anything remarkable, you were grateful to have found anything in the first place
so with low hopes, you prayed that you would be able to find something else in the last room
slamming the door open, you jump when you make eye contact with someone sitting in the middle of the room
all the desks are pushed to the sides of the room quite messily
some of the chairs are knocked over, like someone pushed them away in a rush and never bothered to pick it up
and in the middle of the mess sits Kim Honjoong
in front of him on the ground is a large black jacket that's spread out, different colored paints and markers surrounding him
of course, you know who he is
it's kind of hard not to
his family runs one of the biggest banks in the country, and they sent him to this school in hopes of properly preparing him to take over the family business
but (according to the rumors) Hongjoong had all but stuck his middle finger in his family's faces, slacking off and doing everything in his power to avoid learning anything about business and money
you had heard rumors that he was quite artistic, and looking at the beautifully painted jacket that lays on the ground in front of him, you believe the rumors are true
"Oh," you say awkwardly when Hongjoong looks up from his project to stare at you
"uh, sorry, I didn't think anyone else would still be here," you explain
Hongjoong tilts his head to side
"I like working here because no one ever uses this classroom so I can keep all my supplies safe," he gestures to the loads of paints that surround him
you nod, still feeling a little bit bad about walking in on him
"okay, well, I'm gonna go now," you point behind you and begin to close the door
"wait!"
you pause, peering into the classroom once again
"what are you doing here so late?" Hongjoong raises his eyebrow
"I'm part of the art club and we need more supplies, but this stupid school doesn't think the arts are worth their money," you roll your eyes, "so, we're stuck looking for extra ones in the empty classrooms."
"no offense," you add, realizing you just called this very prestigious school stupid in front of a kid who comes from a very prestigious family
Hongjoong cracks a small smile
"no offense taken"
it's quiet for another moment
"I didn't realize we had an art club," Hongjoong comments
you nod
"yeah, the school doesn't really like us promoting it. I'm pretty sure it's because they want everyone to join the fencing club or whatever rich people do on their free time," you joke
you can't help but feel a little bit proud at the way Hongjoong throws his head back in laughter
"maybe I'll join," he says once his laughter has died down
you're a little shocked, but do your best not to let it show on your face
"well, we meet every Thursday after school," you tell him
"just don't expect us to have all your fancy paints and stuff, we're on a budget"
Hongjoong giggles before sending you a cocky smile
"don't worry, I know some people who would love to make a very generous donation to the art club"
it's about a week later when you and your president get called into the office
the principal seems annoyed, tossing you guys a piece of paper that you soon realize is a check
grabbing it off the desk, you and the president can't help but stare with wide eyes and gaping mouths at the number of zeroes you see written
"wh-who donated this?" your president asks, completely floored
"The Kim family," replies your principal, muttering a "surprisingly" under their breath
later that day during lunch, you happen to pass by Hongjoong who's talking with his group of friends
the two of you make eye contact and he sends you a wink
looking away, you bite back the smile that threatens to appear on your face
seonghwa
"ohmygodimsofucked" you breathe out harshly, running through the doors of the building
you grip your bag tightly, praying that your stuff doesn't fall out of the small hole on the bottom
your cat had taken it upon herself to use it as a personal scratching post
although you're pretty sure she did it because she was mad that you started limiting her on how many treats she ate
you're not one for fat-shaming, but she was getting pretty chunky
your shoes squeak as you book it past different classrooms, ignoring the weird looks from the students inside of them
you were already late for your exam, and you had three minutes to make it to class before you exceeded the 10-minute grace period your teacher allowed on test days
you can already see the door at the very end of the hall and mentally cheer
almost there, almost there, almost the-
"what are you doing?"
you let out a scream as you feel the tip of your shoe scrape the ground, sending you hurdling forward
you shove your arms out in front of you and allow the palms of your hands to break the momentum of your fall
"ow" you wince, feeling the sharp sting from the tile flooring
"oh my goodness, are you okay?"
at the familiar voice, you look up, only to see none other than Park Seonghwa staring at you with concern
oh fuck
Park Seonghwa, top student in your grade and the entire school, teacher fan-favorite, and hall monitor
of course, not that Seonghwa was mean or anything
he has a reputation for being quite nice, causing all the students to love him
not to mention his other-worldly beauty
the amount of chocolate he gets on Valentine's Day could rival how much they sell at candy stores
but, he is also known for being quite serious when it comes to attendance and tardiness
whenever he catches students ditching class or being late, he has no problem lecturing them and giving them after school detention
which you absolutely cannot afford today because you have to go pick up your younger brother from his school across town
"excuse me?" his voice pulls you out of your worries
"huh?" you answer, staring at him wide-eyed
"are you okay?" Seonghwa stares at you concerned
"that was a pretty nasty fall," he comments, glancing down at the way you clench your hands to try and stop the stinging
reaching out, Seonghwa gently touches your hand
"May I?," he asks, looking up at you through his eyelashes
you can't reply, absolutely shocked at what's happening, only managing to give him a small nod
he ever so gently opens your hands and winces at the sight of your bright red and scratched up palms
without saying a word, Seonghwa brings his backpack to his front and opens the smallest pocket, rummaging around inside of it before letting out a satisfied hum and pulling something out
it's a cat band-aid
you can't stop the small "cute" that escapes your mouth at the sight of it
Seonghwa's face turns red
"they were the only ones left at the store," he mutters as he begins to carefully place the bandages on your hands
he says sorry when you let out a hiss at the sting
once he's done, Seonghwa helps you stand up and holds your bag out to you
"how come you're in such a rush?" he questions
you glance down at your phone, sighing when you realize that you've missed the 10 minute mark
"I had an exam today and my teacher allows us a ten minute grace period, so I was hoping I would make it," you explain, "but I already missed it."
Seonghwa frowns at the way you look so disappointed
"what class is it for?"
"statistics with Snow"
Seonghwa perks up at the mention of your teacher's name
"Snow? I had him last year, he loves me. If you want, I can tell him I needed your help with something and ask him to let you re-take the test, I'm pretty sure he'll say yes."
you stare at him, absolutely floored
"you would do that?"
what happened to the scary hall monitor everyone spreads rumors about?
Seonghwa hesitates, but nods
"I feel bad about scaring you and causing you to fall, which ultimately led to you missing class," he frowns
"I-Thank you, Seonghwa, I do't even know what to say," you tell him honestly
once again, a light pink flush makes its way onto Seonghwa's face
"y-yeah, of course"
taking a look at his watch, Seonghwa says something that shocks you even more
"well, since you aren't going to class, do you want to go with me to the convenience store down the block?"
did you hear that correctly?
not only is the Park Seonghwa letting you off the hook, he also bandaged your hands, offered to lie to your teacher to let you retake your exam, and now he's asking if you want to ditch for part of the day to go to the convenience store
what the fuck is going on today?
"I'm sorry, is the school's top student asking me if I want to ditch?" you can't help but tease
Seonghwa pouts slightly, crossing his arms
"I mean, I can just give you detention instead, if you want"
shaking your head no, you tell him that you'd be more than happy to go with him
"well then, let's go," he smiles, offering his arm to you, and the two of you begin making your way out of the building
yunho
you’re in your first period of the day, a chill class where your teacher allows everyone to do whatever they need/want
you sit quietly at your desk, working on some homework
some students around you do the same, while others chat quietly with their friends and some even use the time to sneak in a few more minutes of sleep
you’re so focused on completing this assignment that you don’t notice the student aid that walks into the classroom and hands your teacher a note
you only look up when the teacher calls your name
he motions you to come up to his desk
nervously, you place your pencil down and make your way to the front
“Looks like we have a new student and the office wants you to show him around,” your teacher explains, handing you the office note
you wordlessly take it from him, looking down at the paper
“Go ahead and grab your things, I’ll let your other teachers know that you might be late for your next class.”
nodding, you walk back to your desk to quickly pack up your things before heading out
once you reach the office, you walk in, sending a kind smile to the ladies who work in the front
one of them nods her head towards the principal’s room and you thank her before making your way over
knocking on the door, you wait until you hear the principal’s “come in” before opening the door and stepping inside
“Ah, (Y/n), thank you for coming in,” your principal smiles
“This is Jeong Yunho, he’s our newest student who just transferred from a different school district.”
the boy stands up from the chair and reaches out his hand
you shake it, slightly taken aback at his height
he’s incredibly tall, with black dyed hair, and yet, despite his intimidating stature, his face is kind
“Nice to me you Yunho,” you greet politely
he smiles a bit shyly, giving you a quiet hello and looking away
“As one of our top and most involved students, I knew you would be the best choice to guide Yunho around the school and help him get adjusted,” your principal smiles.
she claps her hands together
“So go ahead you two. Yunho, don’t worry, you’re in great hands with our (Y/n) here and I hope you have an excellent first day,” she smiles before ushering the two of you out
you and Yunho stand outside in the hallway, an awkward silence overcoming the both of you
“Can I see your schedule?” You ask politely
he nods, reaching into his pocket and digging out the paper
you scan your eyes over it, humming when you notice that you share most of your classes with him
“Well you’re in luck,” you send him a smile. “Looks like we share most of our classes so you can just follow me around for today.”
“Great,” Yunho replies, the tips of his ears turning slightly red
and so throughout the day, you guide Yunho to your shared classes, telling him what buildings are for which classes and some of the best spots for some quiet time
his last two classes of the day are different from yours, so you take it upon yourself to get a campus map and label where his classes are going to be
as the bell rings for lunch, you take your time packing up your things
most of the students have already filed out of the classroom by the time you’re done
and you can’t help but jump when you look up and notice Yunho standing in front of your desk
“Oh, Yunho, is everything okay?” you ask
he nods
“Yeah everything’s great, but I, uh-” his eyes flicker around nervously
“I was wondering if we could have lunch together? I don’t really know anyone else,” he admits, a shy smile taking over his face
you think about it for a second before nodding
“Yeah of course we can. But I’m sure by the end of the week you’ll have your own little group to hang out with, so don’t worry,” you reassure him
Yunho doesn’t admit that he quite enjoys spending his day with you
and so you two eat lunch together, sitting side by side in the courtyard and chatting, getting to know each other
by the time the lunch period ends, Yunho can’t help but pout
“We don’t have anymore classes together right?”
you shake your head
“No but I’m sure you’ll do great,” you send him a reassuring smile
he frowns for a split second and seems to curl into himself slightly before an idea pops into his head
“Let’s go eat after school!” he suggests cheerfully
You pause
“What?”
After school, my family’s driver is picking me up, so if you don’t have anything to do, let’s go eat together!”
“I don’t know about that,” you trail off
you figured he would be tired of you by now, but offering to go eat together after school?
“C’mon, I’ll even pay,” Yunho attempts to bribe you
he can see the hesitance on your face and gently touches your arm
“I really enjoy hanging out with you (Y/n),” he stares into your eyes
“And I’d love it if we can become friends rather than going our separate ways.”
you feel your chest warm at his words
and the way Yunho stares at you with wide, starry eyes makes you falter
you sigh
“Alright, let’s hang out after school,” you relent
“Meet me here after your last class and we can leave together.”
Yunho’s smile is breathtaking and you have to force yourself to look away
maybe this won’t be too bad you think
yeosang
out of all your classes, you think this one has to be your favorite
orchestra
you’ve been playing cello for as long as you could remember, and to be able to take a class solely dedicated to the instrument is perfect
you sit in the corner of the room where you and few other cello players have set up, watching as your instructor claps her hands
“Okay students, as you know, our spring recital is coming up.”
a few of the students cheer and a smile takes over the instructor’s face
“This year, we've decided to do things a little differently. Rather than having student solos, I thought it would be a great idea to have you guys do duets with your classmates.”
there’s mixed reactions, some students groaning while others look excitedly at their friends
“But, before you all get excited, I already went ahead and paired each of you up with a player of a different instrument.”
this time, more groans ring out throughout the room
you fidget in your seat slightly
while you don’t particularly love this idea, it’s also not necessarily the worst thing that could happen
meanwhile, the instructor has already begun to read off pairs of names
“Yeosang and (Y/n)”
you blink
Yeosang?
as in, the best violinist in your school?
oh fuck
you look around the room before finding the back of his head
his long blonde hair is styled nicely, and you watch as he reaches a hand up to gently push some of his hair behind his ear
if you weren’t nervous before, you’re definitely nervous now
once your instructor has finished reading off the pairs, she allows you all to break and get together with your partner
you sit and fidget with your bag, unsure if you should make your way over to Yeosang, or if he’s coming to you
the sound of someone clearing their throat causes you to look up
Yeosang stands in front of you, hand gripping the case for his violin
“(Y/n), right?”
you nod
“Looks like we’re partners,” he says slightly awkwardly
you nod once again, unable to look him directly in the eyes
“Okay, well, I think it would be best if we meet up after school to practice together. Meet me in the main parking lot and we can go over to my house.”
his house??
you clear your throat before replying, “okay that sounds good."
Yeosang gives you a curt nod before the bell rings and he makes his way out of the classroom
after school, you stand alone in the almost empty parking lot
next to you is your cello case and in your hands is a box of chocolate croissants one of your friends had given you
where is he? you think, beginning to get a little nervous at the thought that Yeosang might've forgotten about you
you're about to begin walking away when you spot him running out of the doors
by the time he gets to you, his normally pristine hair is slightly messy and out of place, and he pants hard
you resist the urge to fix his hair for him
"Sorry about that," Yeosang apologizes once he's regained his breath
"One of my teachers asked me to stay back to help him with something and I hadn't realized how late it had gotten," he admits sheepishly
you wave him off, letting him know it's not a big deal
"I thought you might've forgotten about me," you joke
Yeosang shakes his head
"never."
before you even have a chance to comprehend his answer, he's reaching out to pick up your cello case
you frantically try to stop him from picking it up, but he gently shoos away your hands
"I'm stronger than I look, lovely"
he guides you to his car where he carefully puts away your instruments, opening the passenger door for you and getting settled himself
once the two of you reach his house, you watch in slight awe as the large gates to the property open up
pulling up to the very front door, Yeosang begins to get out of the car and you follow, clutching the box of sweets
you watch as he hands a man in a suit the car keys before guiding you inside the house
"If you don't mind me asking," he starts. "What are those?" he gestures to the pink box in your hand
"Oh!" you look down
"A friend of mine gave me some chocolate croissants during our last period."
you push the box towards him
"Feel free to have some, as a thank you for letting me practice here and for the ride"
with a small smile, Yeosang thanks you and reaches into the box, grabbing one and pulling it out
you grab one for yourself as well before the two of you get started on learning the music sheets
it's a few minutes later when you look up at Yeosang and let out a small laugh
he has chocolate smeared on the side of his mouth and he even managed to get some on the tip of his nose
"I'm guessing the croissant was good?" you gesture to the small mess on his face
pulling his phone out, he looks in his camera and begins to turn red
you laugh even louder, reaching into your backpack to pull out a tissue
you lean across the table, getting close to Yeosang's face and ever so gently wiping off the chocolate
when you finally move away, Yeosang doesn't know if his face is red from the embarrassment or from having you so close to him
san
"c'monnnn, you have to go to at least one of their games before we graduate!" your friend pesters you about attending the school's baseball game this upcoming Friday
sure, a lot of the boys on the team are nice to look at
but between academics, extra curricular's, and family obligations, you don't really have time to be going to watch boys in tight pants run around a field
you roll your eyes, shoving her off from where she's draped herself on your shoulder
"I really don't" you reply dryly, taking a bite of your sandwich
your friend rolls her eyes
"whatever, if you think I'm gonna give up on trying to convince you then you're sorely mistaken"
she grins, and you wince
you know better than anybody that when she puts her mind to something, she always gets what she wants
the bell signaling the end of the lunch period rings and you begin to pack up your lunch
"I'll meet you after school for our volunteer hours!" your friend waves goodbye as she begins heading towards her class
you wave back and continue packing up
you sling your backpack over your shoulder, beginning the walk to the science building
just as you turn the corner, you crash into something hard
you let out a small "oof" and stumble back
before you're able to fall on your ass, a hand reaches out and grabs you by the arm, helping to stabilize you
you look up to see who you crashed into
Choi San
star player of the baseball team and the it boy of the school
"I'm so sorry!" he apologizes, eyes wide
you wave him off
"it's okay, I wasn't looking where I was going either."
he bites the inside of his cheek and tilts his head
"I don't think I've seen you around before, what's your name?"
you hesitate a little
you're a scholarship student, and while you're very proud of how your work ethic that has gotten you this scholarship to such a fancy school
you can't help but be a little nervous telling one of the most popular and wealthy students in the school who you are
"(Y/n)" you eventually reply when San's eyes won't leave yours
his eyes light up
"I thought you looked familiar! You're one of the top students in our entire grade"
you feel your face get warm and look down at your shoes
"uh, yeah, that's me"
"do you think you could help me in my language class?" San questions
you blink, not expecting those words to come out of his mouth
"uhhhh"
quite frankly, you have a lot on your plate
and you're not sure you can handle taking on another student to tutor
"I promise I'm not a lost cause!" San all but begs
"I'm just a few points away from being suspended from playing on the team and I really can't stand the idea of not playing," he rubs the back of his neck nervously
San stares at you with such hope in his eyes that you can't find it in yourself to say no
so you sigh and relent, nodding your head as San breaks into a wide smile
you notice the dimples that pop up on his cheeks when he grins
cute
"thank you thank you thank you!"
he glances down at his phone before letting out a small "oh shit"
"class is about to start, I should get going,"
"Thank you again (Y/n), for agreeing to tutor me, I really do appreciate it"
just as he begins walking away, he pauses and turns back around
"Are you coming to our game this Friday?"
"I'm not really a huge sports person," you admit. "So, probably not."
San pouts and you immediately feel the need to take back your response
"But I guess I can try making it to one."
oh your friend is never going to let you live this down
another blinding smile makes its way onto his face
"I promise to play my best to make it worth your time."
San sends you a wink
"I gotta impress my pretty tutor"
mingi
you stand awkwardly next to your dad, staring at Mingi
when your dad had mentioned that one of his friends suggested this "really great mechanic" in the neighborhood who was also "kinda young", the thought that it might be someone in your grade had never even crossed your mind
you honestly didn't even think it would be a possibility
"oh, do you two know each other?" your dad asks, looking back and forth between you and Mingi
"sort of?" you reply hesitantly
sure, you knew who he s
one of the wealthiest, smartest, hottest kids in your grade
but the two of you weren't friends by any means
the most interacting you had done was a brief "sorry" when you guys had bumped into each other in the hallway that one time
you were brought out of your thoughts when Mingi sent your dad a bright smile, reaching forward to shake his hand
"Hi sir, I'm Mingi, I share a couple of classes with (Y/n)."
he knows my name?
your dad nods, seeming impressed by the boy's manners
"well, I'm here because I've been having some car trouble and a friend of mine recommended you. I was hoping you could spare some time to take a look at it," he pats the hood of the car
Mingi nods
"Of course sir. As long as nothing's causing major issues, I should be able to get it back to you in two days," Mingi says, taking a glance at the vehicle. "I'm a little backed up with appointments right now, but I promise to try my best to get it done as fast as possible"
your dad nods
"Thanks, son."
a grin makes its way onto your dad's face
"And just remember, I know what school you go to if you do anything to hurt my baby."
you groan, missing the way Mingi's eyes dart to you rather than the car
"I would never," Mingi replies seriously
"daaaaaad" you shove his shoulder slightly, feeling your face heat up
facing Mingi, you apologize for you dad's comments
the last thing you need is for his parents to show up at your house questioning you as to why your father decided to threaten their son
just then, the sound of a phone ringing begins to echo through the small garage
pulling his phone out of his pocket, you watch your dad's eyebrows furrow as he reads the name of the caller
"give me a second kids," he says, bringing the phone up to his ear and stepping out of the garage to answer the call
once the door is shut, you look back at Mingi, who, to your surprise, is already staring at you
"I'm sorry about that," you apologize once again. "He's pretty serious about his car, doesn't like to let a lot of people touch it."
Mingi nods understandingly
"No worries, I get it. I guess I should be honored he trusted me enough to bring it here," he grins
taking a look around, you can't help but be a little impressed by how legit everything looks
not that you know much about mechanic shops
"So, I didn't know you were also a mechanic outside of school," you mention. "I thought your parents would want you to focus on business and stuff like that."
Mingi's ears turn warm and he brings an arm up to rub the side of his neck
"That's because they don't really know I do this," he admits
your mouth drops open
"How do you manage to run all of this on your own without them finding out?"
he shrugs
"'s not hard when they're never home in the first place."
you frown
"but don't feel bad," Mingi continues, noticing the look on your face. "This is something I really enjoy doing and I'm glad I can do this all on my own."
the way Mingi's face brightens up when talking about something he's so obviously passionate about makes your heart feel fuzzy
before you can say anything else, the door to the garage opens and your dad walks back in
"Sorry sweetheart, but we're gonna have to get going. The guys back at the office are having trouble sorting this deal out and they need my help," your dad rolls his eyes
"Thanks again, son, for helping me out. Whenever my car's ready just go ahead and let my daughter know since you guys see each other at school anyways," your dad places a hand on your shoulder
"I didn't sign up to be your messenger," you mutter, crossing your arms over your chest
Mingi lets out a deep laugh
"Of course, sir"
your dad begins walking out after saying goodbye to Mingi, and you follow, pausing at the door to look back at him
"Bye Mingi," you smile, sending him a small wave
"Bye (Y/N), I'll see you in class," he calls out
once the two of you leave, Mingi gets to work taking a look at your dad's car
maybe, just maybe, this car will finally give him the chance to talk to you more
wooyoung
you and Wooyoung had actually been best friends for as long as you could remember
when you were younger, your mom had been hired by Wooyoung’s family to tutor him in any and all subjects
as she was a single mom and couldn’t always afford babysitting, she would often times bring you along with her when she went to Wooyoung’s family’s house
most of the time you would sit quietly on one of the large couches and work on homework or color
but one day, a small Wooyoung had managed to sneak away from your mom and come see you
he’d always see his tutor coming in and out of the house alongside a young girl around his age, but he never actually saw you up close or talked to you
and so, as any child would do, his curiosity got the better of him and he went out in search of answers
despite the initial scare he gave you when he screamed “BOO” in your ear, the two of you had gotten along quite nicely
after his tutoring sessions and when you were done with homework, your mom and Wooyoung’s parents would watch with fond eyes as you two chased each other around the large backyard
as you both grew up, and even when your mom stopped needing to tutor him, the two of you remained incredibly close
it’s how you were even able to attend this fancy school in the first place
the tuition certainly cost an arm and a leg, something your mom would never be able to afford on her own
but Wooyoung’s parents insisted that you attend as well, saying it was one of the best schools in the country and they would put in a good word for you
they also took it upon themselves to cover the cost of your tuition, saying that at least this way, they knew you would keep an eye on their son
and so you and Wooyoung had fallen into a comfortable routine with each other, knowing the other person inside and out
so when one day you were late leaving your last class, Wooyoung couldn’t help but grow slightly concerned
you’re an incredibly punctual person, and even on the rare occasion that you would be late, you always made sure to let him know ahead of time
tapping his foot on the pavement anxiously, Wooyoung leaned against his sleek back car and glanced at his watch
“Where is she?” he muttered to himself
only the sound of your laughter caused him to look up
you were finally walking towards him, but next to you was a boy
Wooyoung stared hard at the guy next to you, watching with distaste as you waved bye a little too enthusiastically to him before skipping over to the car
“Who was that?” he asks, intrigued and annoyed at the same time
“Oh, he’s in my statistics class,” you reply vaguely
Wooyoung stares at you, noticing the way you seemed to fidget nervously and the way you kept rocking back and forth on the balls of your feet
he knows you like the back of his hand, and he knew that you weren’t telling him something
quirking a brow, Wooyoung says nothing, only continuing to stare
you sigh, reaching into your pocket to pull out a piece of paper
“He asked me out,” you finally admit, handing him the number
Yanking it out of your hand, Wooyoung looks at the phone number and address the boy had written down
“He didn’t even offer to pick you up?” your best friend scoffs
you roll your eyes
“It’s not that big of a deal Woo” you argue
he fixes you with a stern look
“I thought I raised you better than to have such low standards,” he shakes his head
“I’m literally a few months older than you!” You cry out
Clicking his tongue, Wooyoung crumples up the piece of paper and tosses it carelessly to the side, ignoring your protests
“I’m not letting you go out with some mediocre boy,” he says, opening the car door and gesturing for you to get inside
He closes the door as you try and argue with him, beginning to walk over to the driver’s side
Wooyoung elects to ignore the jealous monster that has made itself known in his heart over the idea of you going out with someone else
someone other than him
getting settled in the drivers seat, Wooyoung starts the car before turning to face you with a cheeky grin
“Dinner?”
The vision
You were born with a gift. The gift to be able to see the future. You would always have small or big glimpses of the future every now and then. And the visions are usually never something bad, until now…
Malleus draconia x fem!reader
Reader is also a Fae and malleus childhood friend:)
Angst
-
You never found your gift to be horrible. You always thought that it was pretty cool and amazing, being able to see little glimpses of the future. You found it to be very fascinating rather than scary.
And for the most part, your visions were never bad. You never saw anything that made you scared or uneasy, well besides the few times when you had a few visions that made you confused and or a little scared BUT it was all good in the end!
But today. You never expected to get a vision like you did today.
-
You were in your room, humming and packing some clothes for your small trip to Malleus palace. You're really excited to see malleus and the others again after so long. Ever since they received your text about you visiting them they have been counting down the days of your arrival.
You giggle at the memory of silver sending you a picture of Lilia marking down each day until your arrival at the palace.
“Y/n dear! Are you ready?” Your mom asks. You quickly packed the last of your clothing before closing your suitcase.
“Yes mom, I'm ready!” Your door opens to reveal your mother and a guard standing behind her.
“Ah! My beautiful daughter! I can’t believe you’ll be gone for a whole week!” She says as she pulls you into a tight hug.
“It’s only a week! Then I’ll be back until my next visit” You say with a smile. You and your mother talked for a bit until your father came into the room and told you that everything is ready for your trip to the palace.
“Bye my pretty girl! And be careful!”
“Be safe! And you already know what to do if anything bad happens!” You waved at both of your parents before getting in the carriage.
-
It wasn’t long until you finally arrived. You looked out and saw malleus and the others waiting excitedly for you.
“Ah it’s a pleasure seeing you again lady y/n!” Lilia says as he helps you step out of the carriage.
“It’s great to see you all again! I missed you all”
“Allow me to help with your luggage!” Sebek then immediately grabbed all three of your luggage as you began to panic.
“Oh no no no! I can’t possibly have you carry all that! I can help-“
“No, I'll do it! So please allow me”
“But-“
“Sebek is a strong boy. He’ll be fine” Silver reassures you. You just nod but not before asking Sebek if he needed help once again. But he only replies with a “I’m fine!” Before you let him carry all your luggage inside the palace.
-
“Thank you so much sebek. You really didn’t have to carry all my luggage up here”
“It’s no problem! I am a knight and it’s my duty to serve my master and any other royals!” You smiled before giving sebek a small kiss on the check.
“I appreciate your help, thank you” The boy was left speechless. A shade of dark red adoring his cheeks.
“I-it’s no problem! I-I’ll go now!” And he left. You giggle at his shyness. You decided to unpack before doing anything else. It didn’t take long before you had everything unpacked and the moment you sat down on your bed you heard a knock at the door.
“Come in” The door then opens to reveal malleus. You smile once you see your childhood friend.
“Mal!” Malleus smiles at you before pulling you into a hug.
“It’s nice to see you again child of man”
“How have you been mal? Have you been doing good? Eating good?” Malleus could feel his cheeks heat up as you continue to ask him more questions.
“I’m doing quite well. But I’ll also ask you the same thing, have you been taking care of yourself too?”
“Of course I have! I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t” You joked. Malleus just smiles before handing you some chocolate.
“I bought your favorite” You could feel your heart beat increase as he handed you the chocolate.
“Oh sevens! You shouldn’t have! Now I feel bad that I didn’t get you anything!” He chuckles at your worried expression.
“Don’t panic. But I would love it if you would accompany me on a walk around the palace garden” He asks and who were you to say no to someone like malleus?
“I’d love to”
-
The two of you walked around the garden as you talked about old memories from when the two of you were young and other funny embarrassing ones.
“Haha! I remember that! I still can’t forget the look on Lilias face” As you laughed, you didn’t notice the literal heart eyes in malleus eyes as he watched you laugh.
“Ohh my stomach now hurts from all that laughing!” He smiles before stopping and crouching down next to a rose bush.
“Oh? What are you doing mal?” You ask curiously. Malleus doesn’t respond and you can see him carefully getting a beautiful red rose from the bush before standing back to his full height. He turns around and you see a beautiful rose in his hand.
“For you” You were taken aback before heat rushes up your neck.
“For me?”
“Mhm” You carefully grabbed the rose from his hands before smiling.
“Ah I didn’t know you missed me that much!” You teased as he started to turn red. But you wouldn’t lie that you weren’t screaming inside by malleus sweet (or romantic) gesture.
Could this mean malleus also likes you back?
But soon the excitement went away when you felt a throbbing pain in your head.
A vision
It’s you. You wore a beautiful traditional briar valley wedding dress along with malleus who was also wearing a traditional briar valley suit.
It’s a wedding-YOUR wedding. You can see the excited smile on both you and malleus faces as family and friends congratulated you both.
“Congratulations to the two of you!”
“You look stunning as always lady- or should I say Mrs draconia” Lilia teases as you feel your face heat up.
“Congratulations waka-sama!” Sebek cries as silver just sighs before congratulating you with a smile.
You saw how malleus looked at you with heart eyes as he pulled you closer to him and gave you a kiss.
Then your vision changes and you can see yourself carrying what seems to be a baby. You were sitting in you and malleus shared bedroom and you cooed at the small bundle of joy as malleus sat next to you. A huge smile on his face.
“He looks just like you” You tell him.
“He has your eyes” Malleus tells you. You were both in awe as the little one opened his eyes before crying.
“He’s hungry”
It was so cute. So wholesome. So it definitely didn’t prepare you for what you were about to see next.
What you saw next was absolutely horrific. You could see yourself laying in your husband’s arms all bloody.
You looked…dead
You were dead
You were dead in your husband's arms as his cries of agony rang through the palace walls.
“No please! My wife! Not my wife!”
“Please wake up y/n! Please don’t leave me” He cries as he holds your body close. And then you suddenly hear your baby’s cries. You quickly turned around to see a horrified sebek gently holding your baby as his eyes widened at the sight in front of him. You could see that he was trembling a bit. But he was trying so hard to keep calm and calm down your crying baby.
You then turned around to see briar valley knights fighting. They were fighting what seemed to be other knights from a different kingdom. You could see silver and Lilia. They had some wounds but you could see how they hadn’t given up on fighting. Making sure those unknown knights didn’t get close to you, malleus or your baby.
You could hear bodies drop to the floor and blood splattering. Screams and shouts and also the sound of swords hitting against each other.
It was a mess. A horrifying mess. So bloody and gory you could almost throw up.
The vision soon stops and you gasp once it does, dropping the rose in the process. Malleus looks at you worriedly. You were shaking! You looked scared and that really worried him.
“Y/n are you-“
“I-I have to go” But before he could even finish his sentence you ran away. Malleus watches with wide eyes as you run away from him.
-
You locked yourself in your room after that. Not wanting to see anyone, especially malleus. You curled up on your bed as you tried your hardest to forget what you saw in your vision.
You were happy that in your vision you and malleus got together and married each other and had a baby but then seeing you dead in his arms as his and your baby’s cries filled the palace walls and also the bloody scene that you saw. It was to much!
You can’t let that happen. You can’t! The pain in malleus voice….it broke your heart hearing him like that.
If that’s what happens to you and malleus in the future. Then it’s best that you separate ways from each other.
You can’t let anything bad happen to malleus. You just can’t. Even if you love malleus with all your heart you don’t want to see him in pain.
“I guess it’s best to stay away….”
-
Lord it’s literally 3 am rn😭 anyways I hope you guys liked it🤍
DI!Leon Kennedy x (Fem)Reader
Summary: You sit in the hospital and contemplate the aftermath of yours and Leons near death experience. All while waiting on him...
Words: 3.2k
Content Warning: Talks of injury, Leons in a coma, crying, this part actually made me sad..., cliffhanger (: (yes I'll make more if this does well!)
[Previous Part] | [Next Part]
It's been hours.
Hours since you were put in this hospital room in Miami.
Hours since, you were carried off screaming and flailing by a fellow agent.
Hours since you last saw him "alive".
You've asked different hospital staff at least 20 times for updates. Hearing the same things over and over again.
'He's in critical condition.'
'He suffered severe blood loss and a possible brain injury so comas are fairly common.'
'He'll need surgery once he's able to undergo anesthetic.'
Aside from whatever Rebecca came to share, you were completely in the dark...
And all you can do is lie in your hospital bed and wait.
The only company you have is your thoughts and the woman in the room that you've refused to speak to since she came in a few hours after they allowed you visitors.
"You can't stay mad at me forever."
That's the 6th time Jill's said that... But you're still going to talk. At least not to her.
She sighs heavily at your continued refusal to talk.
"So do your eyes not work either or are you just so pissed you don't want to even look at me?" Deeply inhaling through your nose, you look at her, crossing your arms.
"Oh wow, your ears work too? So full of surprises."
"Fuck. Off." You grumble, voice cracking from lack of use and your deteriorating emotional state.
There's a knock at the door, gaining both your attention. Jill stands up, walks over and opens it, Rebecca stepping into the room, glancing around quickly before her eyes land on you. She looks almost happy to be there, even during this mess of a situation.
"Hey, I just came to check in and share some news." Rebecca sounded chipper. Jill shuts the door, walking back over and pulling a seat up for her, a fold-up chair next to your bedside.
You sit up, excited and about to start asking millions of questions.
"Is it-" Rebecca puts her hand up, stopping you from talking. You sit back in bed, trying not to jump down her throat about anything.
"Yes." Rebecca starts as she sits down. "He's stable enough for surgery. The doctor told Chris that it looked like part of his large intestines was clipped. He'll need a hell of a lot of stitches but he'll be okay. And he's incredibly lucky it wasn't anything vital." You sigh, feeling your body relax finally after hours of being tense.
"Thank God..." Jill rubs her forehead as she starts pacing the room, finally feeling some sliver of relief.
"But..." Rebecca starts again, looking between Jill and you. "He didn't wake up before surgery... It's up to him now."
What if he doesn't wake up for a while?
What if he's stuck in the hospital for months?
What if he never wakes up?
"Hey, hey, he's gonna be okay." Jill walks over noticing your lack of response. You sniff, starting to feel the tears fighting their way out. The past few hours are the most stressful ones of your life.
Sure you've dealt with loss before. Even the loss of a coworker, but not Leon...
Leon is different. He means too much to you.
Jill pulls you into a hug as Rebecca stands to rub softly up and down your back.
"You know he's gonna pull through. He's Leon." You laugh softly into Jill's shoulder as she makes her statement, she's not wrong though.
"It would take an atomic bomb to stop that man." Rebecca adds, leaning into your other side.
"It's just... It's different this time." Jill pulls away listening to you, wiping a few of your tears away with her thumb.
"What?" She looks at Rebecca who just shrugs in response, unsure of what exactly you meant.
"Is Chris okay?" You look up at Rebecca, changing the subject because you're not quite ready to discuss what happened yet.
"He's not still woozy from the emergency transfusion is he?" You ask, looking at Rebecca. She nods.
"He's still recovering a bit. But Claire is with him in the waiting room, shoving whatever vending machine food she can find into his mouth. Like some kind of... weird... mother bird or something."
"Of course she is." Jill, chuckled, looking back at Rebecca, smiling and happy to hear some good news.
"So, what's going on with you?" Jill turns back in your direction as Rebecca asks, gesturing towards your cast.
"Leg fracture, ankle fracture and spinal fracture... I'm gonna need some physical therapy in a few weeks but I should be perfectly fine. Other than a bit of nerve damage that still needs to be accessed fully after the spinal fracture heals..." Rebecca's brows drop, frowning.
"Permanent?" Nodding slowly, you saw her face change, she looked so disappointed and guilty. "You can't go back to the D.S.O. can you? No field work at least."
"Most likely no... Where the damage is... It's gonna make my legs numb randomly. And we all know once we get a permanent injury... we're done."
"Oh God." She took your hand in hers, clutching it tight. "I'm gonna miss the hell out of working together when we did."
"It's not like she's going away forever, Rebecca. You'll still be doing desk work, right?" Jill looks optimistic for once, you stay quiet for the time being.
This could be your chance to finally get out of that cesspool of a career. Something you've thought about for years now.
"I think... I should retire." They both stare at you, mouth a gap. Out of all of you in the group, they never expected you to retire first. Especially with how much of a workaholic you were.
"That's... probably for the best." Rebecca squeezes your hand, trying to be supportive, but you can tell this choice is killing her.
"This won't hurt our friendships, right?" You look at Jill, she honestly just looks annoyed yet sad at the same time.
"Of course not."
You all know you will, in some way, hardly get to see each other, as is from everyone's busy schedule. But now you can make time for each other at least.
Hopefully.
"I think I should be getting back to Tweedledee and Tweedledum." Rebecca gives you a tight squeeze of the side looking over at Jill. "I'll be in the waiting room. If I find out anything I'll comeback."
She gives you one last rub of the back, leaving the hospital room with a quick goodbye. Once the door closes, Jill pulls the chair up next to your bed, closer, having a seat.
"Are we on speaking terms now? Or was it a truce for Rebecca's sake?"
"I'll talk." You sigh, earning a smug look from Jill.
"How is this time different?"
Of course, she asks that first. Jill's never one to beat around the bush.
What's the big deal? Just say it, she's gonna know eventually...
"I told him I love him." You say it, looking into her eyes as they blow wide.
Her jaw drops. A broken string of words came out. Unable to make a complete sentence, she shuts her mouth. Looking so lost and worried. She blinks, slumping back against the chair.
"No wonder you fought me so hard..."
Thinking back to her unlatching you from the doorway, the stairwell railing and even trying to grab a standing desk at one point. She got so annoyed with your actions when she was just trying to help.
Screaming, beating on her back weakly as she carried you all the way back to the radio room they set up where you eventually passed out due to exhaustion and woke up as the evac helicopter was landing at the hospital.
Looking back now, you feel like a child throwing a tantrum, but could you really blame yourself?
But it all made sense to her now as the guilt seeped in.
"God, if I had known-"
"Don't." She looks up at you, your eyes starting to fill with tears as you let out a broken whine, sniffling against your hospital gown collar as you wipe your eyes.
"But, I could have-"
"You did the right thing," You assert, cutting her off again. Her eyes still looking at the floor with guilt. "If he would have died on that table we both know I wouldn't have been leaving."
Jill just glances up at you, nodding and rubbing her temples.
"He said it back too."
"Oh- Oh my God." She smiles, looking almost relieved and excited. "He did? Leon Kennedy? The man known for being emotionally constipated?"
You laugh, continuing to wipe your eyes and nod with a shaky breath.
"And uhh..." You breathe out, taking a moment to gather your words. Jill leans forward, putting a hand on yours.
"Take your time."
"Thank you." You sniff again, looking back at her, the heat in your body rising as you remember the conversation again.
"He asked me if we could have had a family together. So I told him if he held on I'd give one to him. And he wanted that... With me. Me, Jill!" You smile. The tears starting to overflow again. "He wants me... I never thought he actually would."
"I know. Everyone thought one of you would die before saying something to each other." She jokes, getting you to chuckle somewhat.
"But I guess we were wrong. It was a near death."
"I don't want to lose him... I wanna give him what he wants, what we both want." Starting to cry harder, Jill gets out of the chair.
"He's gonna pull through. He has to. I'll kick his ass if he doesn't."
"What're you gonna beat up a man in a coma?" Your body jiggles as you laugh, smiling finally after what feels like an eternity.
"Maybe, maybe not."
Laying back against your pillows, you stare at the ceiling and wonder, what's going to happen in the next few days?
"I know I'm probably gonna be here for a little while," you started, lifting your head from the uncomfortable hospital pillow, "but do you think they'll let me see him?"
"Why wouldn't they?" She looks almost confused? What could stop you from seeing him?
"He's in a private room. Which means only people on his contact list can visit... His only person is our boss."
"Hun, don't worry, I'll fix it. Okay?" Your brows wrinkle looking at her.
How the hell are you gonna fix this?
"Okay..." You can't help but feel lost but you take Jill for her word when a knock comes at the door.
"Sorry to interrupt." A nurse steps in through the door. "But it's 7:45... Visiting hours are over in 15 minutes."
Jill nods to the nurse as she walks back out, closing the door.
"Listen." Jill speaks before you can say anything at all. "I'll fix it. So don't worry your pretty little head about anything, okay?"
You take a shaky breath, nodding as she leans in hugging you tightly.
"I'll try to come see you once you're back in DC. I can't promise anything but I can try." You nod again, just not feeling the need to say anything.
"I love you, remember that."
"Love you too." You wave as Jill exits the room, leaving you alone again.
Alone...
You'll be here alone. He'll be in his room alone.
Everyone's gonna go back to work tomorrow like normal, act like nothing happened whatsoever, and I'm stuck here... He's stuck here without anyone else.
He has no blood family.
We're his family...
The D.S.O. is his "family", if he can even bother to call them that...
You lay in your bed staring at the ceiling, closing your eyes, trying to let sleep consume you and your exhausted body.
....
"Miss?" Your eyes shoot open, gasping, you jump, looking around the dimly lit hospital room. The nurse from before next to your bedside jumps as you startled her as well.
I'm so out of it, I didn't even hear her come in...
"Yes?" Your voice sounds oddly normal again, minus the grogginess.
"Mr. Kennedy is out of surgery and recovering. He should be in his room again in about 10 minutes." You claw at the rail of your bed, eyes widen in surprise.
Already!?
"Is he okay?" The nurse nodded with a kind smile.
"The surgery went well. He's gonna recover just fine." The pure bliss that fills you is nothing compared to almost anything you've felt before.
"Is he awake?" The nurse's face falls with a shake of her head.
"I'm sorry, no..."
Of course not...
"Would you like me to get you a wheelchair to go see him once he's back in his room?"
They're offering...?
"Yes, yes, I would love that. Thank you."
The nurse nods, leaving your room. You look at the ceiling, smiling and feel a little bit better than you did before. Turning your head, you look at your bedside table, seeing your phone, the familiar green light of a message blinking from the black screen.
Picking it up, you turn the screen on by swiping your code through and look at the time.
12:35am. You fell asleep.
Swiping down, you see a series of texts from Jill.
'I swear this hospital is run by jackasses.' 7:57pm
'I'm talking to someone finally.' 8:13pm
'You know I hate doing it but I'm about to wave my badge around for you.' 8:42pm
'It's fixed. You're welcome <3' 9:07pm
"Jill Valentine, you're a God damn miracle worker." You squeeze your phone in excitement as you start replying.
'I owe you my life, call me later <3' 12:37am
You sit back in bed shutting your phone off and setting it back down on the table. You feel so nervous.
The 10 minutes drag by right as a nurse comes in with a wheelchair for you. Putting the railing down, she helps you out of bed and into the chair, putting your cast-covered leg up on the footrest.
Moving backwards out of the room, the bright florescent lights of the hallway blind you, a pained hiss slipping from your lips. The nurse pushing you chuckles as she wheels you to the elevator.
"Oh, I should inform you." You look up at her as she pushes the call button with a smile.
"We're gonna be moving you upstairs next to your fiance in the morning. Just thought you should know."
Fiance... Don't question Jill's methods.
Knowing what Jill did now, you just nod going along with it.
"Thank you, that is very helpful. I don't want to leave his side as much as possible..."
"Oh, understandable. You must be going through so much with him right now. I can only imagine."
You don't know half of it.
The elevator opens, you're pushed inside and the nurse pushes the floor button.
"So, how did you two meet?" The nurse asks. You look over your shoulder at her.
"Work. I was placed with him because I was experienced in our line of work. Apparently, every other person he was paired with couldn't handle him."
"And I'm guessing you could?" She chuckles, making you smile.
"Well, we've been together since November of 2013, so I'd assume yes." She laughs again.
"Who asked who out?" You froze, thinking of something quickly.
"Well, we kind of just told each other how we felt and it just happened." She nods slowly, the elevator dinging.
You're pulled back out of the elevator and start down a dim hallway. This floor looks a lot quieter and well kept.
The nurse pushes you past rooms, stopping in front of a corner room with the number 10 on it. Opening the door, she pushes you inside, seeing the curtain drawn around the bed in the room.
The nurse stops you at the bedside looking at you again.
"I'm just going to warn you. He looks like he's asleep, it's gonna be odd with everything he's hooked up to right now, but if he stays stable for a day most of it will come off."
You nod as she pulls the curtain back, revealing Leon.
Tubes... And wires. So many tubes and wires.
Your jaw drops and brows knit. His hands lay at his side and he looked like he was asleep.
You've seen what he looks like, knocked out, asleep, passed out. But this time it doesn't feel right...
Looking over him you see the bags under his eyes look lighter at least.
Feeding tube through the nose, heart monitor, IV, a ventilator and a stomach compression band across his abdomen.
He looks so vulnerable... Not at all like Leon, you know.
Taking his hand in yours, you just stare at him, letting the sight of him sink in.
At least he's alive.
"So, the ventilator should come off once the anesthetic is out of his system. It's just a precaution." The nurse comments, walking over to his bedside table, picking up a small stack of pamphlets and handing them to you.
"Thank you..." You look at them reading the titles quickly.
How to help wake up a coma patient.
My partner is in a coma.
Coma Recovery and what to expect.
"I know it's a lot right now." The nurse started, putting a hand on your shoulder. "But with his health and how well it was before hand, I'm sure he'll be up and be a pain in no time."
You smile at her, feeling thankful for such a wonderful angel of a woman at nearly 2am.
"Thank you. I appreciate it."
"Of course, I'll leave you to it. Feel free to talk to him, every little bit helps. And when you're ready to rock and roll out of here, just hit the call button and I'll come get you."
The nurse leaves with her final words, shutting the door as you turn looking at Leon.
Leaning towards him, you take a deep breath in.
"Hey Dumbass..." You stare at him, interlocking your fingers with his limp ones.
"This is the part where you're supposed to say 'Hey Shithead' back to me... Like normal, y'know?" Patting the back of his hand, you nod.
"Yeah I know, this hospital room..." You look around whistling softly as you look back at his face. "You'd be bitching about how over the top it is for a hospital room... I just know you would."
Sitting back in the wheelchair, you hold his hand tighter, leaning into it.
"You... I hope you can hear me. Cause I just..."
You look up at his face, feeling too uncomfortable. It's hard to almost look at him.
So many tubes and wires! What would he do to break the tension right now?
"Wanna hear a joke about paper?"
He doesn't respond.
"Never mind. It's tearable..."
Fighting the urge to look away, you lean closer again. Just needing to get what you need to say out.
"Look, I know I'm not mushy or soft usually but..."
You swallow your fears by gripping his hand for dear life.
"I need you."
He doesn't respond.
This starts to feel hopeless, but you remember.
At least he's still alive...
I was pretty nervous as I rushed to be ready before eight o'clock. Hell, I was so nervous that I almost couldn't do my eyeliner. But after taking a couple deep breaths, I was able to stifle my nerves for a few more minutes. I quickly threw on a silky emerald green dress that I had bought that day. I couldn't resist buying it when I first laid eyes on it through the window of the store, because I knew he would absolutely love it!
A sudden knock at my front door kicked my nerves into drive again, and the butterflies in my stomach caused my heartbeat to move to my throat to cause nausea. After taking another deep breath to sooth my anxieties and straightening my dress out in the mirror, I left my bedroom to open the front door and greet my date.
Syzoth's eyes widened as they met with mine and something about the way his eyes quickly roamed my figure told me that he did, in fact, love the dress I had bought just for him. After realizing that he had taken too long to take in the sight of me, Syzoth's cheeks blushed a deep shade of green as he peered up at me almost shamefully.
"Uh— H-Hi," he stammered awkwardly while rubbing the back of his neck.
"Hi!" I greeted him again with a kind smile, which he returned.
"S-Shall we be leaving now?" He asked with a slight stutter filling his soft voice. I nodded before stepping out of my house and locking my door behind me.
It then occurred to us that we had never actually planned what we would do on this date. Being two very different species with very different ideas on how to spend our time together, we weren't quite sure we could do that would make us both happy. So we walked around my town for awhile while we talked about our day and such, but it wasn't until we passed the local park that it hit me.
"Oh! I have an idea!" I exclaimed excitedly, and Syzoth looked at me with a curious expression.
"What would that be, (Y/N)?" He asked and my smile grew wide with excitement.
"Come with me; I'll show you." I said as I took his hand and tugged it in the direction of the park.
He seemed almost shocked by the sudden contact and once I remembered that Zaterrans don't hold hands and figured it would make him uncomfortable, I almost pulled my hand away. But when I began to, his grip tightened on me. So I decided to let my hand stay put, encased in his own.
We entered the quiet and barren park, hand in hand, as I led him down the narrow dirt path. The only thing lighting our way were a couple light posts, but other than that, the park was pretty dark. I wasn't scared though, because I knew Syzoth would keep me safe.
"It's nice here—quiet." He spoke in a hushed tone and I nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, I like coming here a lot." I stated while lowering my tone to his level. "It's so peaceful."
"Thank you for sharing it with me."
"Of course~" I lifted my gaze to peer up at him as my lips curled into a small smile.
It was then that I realized we were still holding hands. It was different but nice—so nice that a part of me didn't want to stop. And the way he subconsciously moved his thumb to caress the back of my hand told me that he felt the same way.
Eventually, we found the end of the path and Syzoth came to a stop. But surprisingly for him, I kept going onto the patch of grass before us.
"What are you doing?" He asked as he cocked his head with curiosity.
"Follow me," I said with an amused smirk while continuing to walk along the grass.
After another minute of walking—when we were far from any light—I laid on the ground so I was facing the sky. Syzoth seemed confused by this, but repeated my actions anyway. And it wasn't until he did that he understood why I wanted to go out there in the first place.
"Aren't they beautiful?" I sighed breathlessly as we gazed upon the black, cloudless sky that was speckled with shining stars.
My smile broadened as peace and happiness filled my heart. No matter what, stargazing always seemed to make me happy, so I wanted to share it with my date.
"They're stunning," he whispered softly, before turning his head to look at me with an almost bashful smile toying on his lips. "But not the most stunning thing here tonight."
I turned my head to look at him, and despite the warmth of a blush tinting my cheeks, I simply smirked as I raised my brow.
"You sure know how to sweet-talk a lady." I chuckled before my gaze softened. "But I'd have to disagree with you."
He stared at me with confusion in his eyes, pulling down on his brows as he tried to figure out what I had meant. But then his lips cracked open to bear a cheeky grin as he finally caught on.
"It seems as if you're challenging me to a competition of compliments." He smirked as a sudden cockiness filled his tone. "That's more than fine with me, because with you, I could go all night."
The warmth in my cheeks turned hot, and I couldn't stop myself from finally turning my head away to hide my blush. He let out a laugh at my shyness, but not in a mocking way—it was as if he found it cute.
"There's no need to be shy, my little sunshine." His tone suddenly grew softer and more gentle as he spoke. "It's only me."
I fixed my gaze on him once again to see him staring at me with adoration, and the way his lips slightly curled into a small smile told me that he was more than happy to be by my side in this moment. I returned the smile before moving my head to rest on his shoulder as I looked back at the stars. Everything felt absolutely perfect, and I felt right where I belonged.
Then suddenly, a gasp parted my lips as a shooting star beamed across the sky. My heart leaped into my throat as I sat up due to pyre excitement and pointed at the flash of light.
"Oh! Make a wish!" I exclaimed before closing my eyes and thinking of something I deeply desired for my future.
It didn't take long to think of something, and I pressed my lips and eyelids together tightly as I hoped for it to come true—for more to come out of this date for the both of us.
"Did you make a wish?" I asked as I opened my eyes and looked back down at my date, who was now lying with his arms folded behind his head and an amused grin stretching his lips.
He nodded before sitting up and whispering, "I wished for this moment to never end."
"But you can't tell me! Now it won't come true!" I frowned as I looked down at him with disappointment.
"No, it won't. Just don't tell anybody." His smile widened and he then playfully nudged my shoulder. "I trust you can keep a secret."
I chuckled at his choice of words because of how true they were. Never once had I spilled his secret of being Zaterran when he would visit Earthrealm. I was lucky to be one of the few Earthrealmers that actually knew of this ability of his, so I wasn't going to abuse his trust for me by spreading it around.
Silence had fallen over us again as we gazed into each other's eyes. And then I realized that the stars truly weren't the most beautiful thing I had seen in this park at night.
"Are you enjoying our date?" I asked as my voice dropped to a low volume once again.
"Yes, very much so," he whispered as he brought his hand up to gently caress my cheek with the backs of his fingers. "(Y/N)?"
"Yeah?"
"Thank you for sharing this with me."
The corners of my lips curved up into a sweet smile for the hundredth time that night, and I slowly leaned forward to gently press my lips against his. His whole body froze for a moment, and I began to wonder if he even wanted it. But before I could pull away, his lips slowly twitched into the form in which makes a kiss. It was a beautiful moment that I would cherish forever.
Moonbyul closes the door behind you before taking a seat on the bed. She takes off her shoes and rubs her feet. "Have you found anything yet?"
"No, nothing concrete yet, anyway. These shoes are awful, by the way."
"Give them here. I'll fix them up a little. You explain what you've found." Moonbyul hands you her shoes, and you begin making adjustments to them. Stretching them, breaking them in, and overall making them more comfortable.
"Right, so what I've found is that of all the maids, the most senior ones often report to your parents. That's obviously Taeyeon and some others. The interesting thing is that Chuu's also been going to meet your mother quite often."
"Chuu has?" You start thinking about your interactions with Chuu and struggle to recall anything significant. She's been very friendly but hasn't talked to you for any other reason than to ask a simple question.
"She has, very often in fact. Over these past two weeks, I've caught her walking to your mother's study nearly every day. There have also been a few times where she's walked into your parents' room. I'm not sure how much you know about how your maid system works, but it's actually more complicated than I thought. Senior maids take on the duties involving your parents; after a certain point, junior maids get put up a level and stop taking care of lower-level tasks. Chuu is still a junior maid, so she shouldn't be anywhere near your parents." Moonbyul pauses for a moment to pull a small pocketbook from between her breasts. "Senior maids include Taeyeon, Hani, Jeonghwa, and someone by the name of Jihyo. I haven't seen her around at all. Junior maids are obviously me and the other recent hires, and some others that aren't important right now. They've done nothing to arouse my suspicion. Hwasa, who seems to hate me by the way, is somewhere in between. She's not considered a senior or a junior, so I have some suspicions about her, but I can't get anywhere near her without her catching me."
"That’s pretty good information." You reply, impressed by how much information Moonbyul has been able to gather.
"I know, now. Have you kept up your part?"
You nod your head, "you bet." You think about where to start. "I've gotten close to all of the junior maids so far; Wonyoung and Tzuyu are the ones I've gotten closest to. They're both hardworking and diligent in their tasks. It takes a little convincing for them to stop and talk to me, but I don't think they'd be the ones to focus on. They like to keep things cordial." Moonbyul nods her head and writes down a few notes. "Wonyoung, as of late, has been getting very comfortable, so I'll be targeting her for information first." A knock on the door interrupts your conversation.
"Young Master? It's me. Could I speak to you about something?" It’s Wonyoung standing at the door. You and Moonbyul look at each other before she hurries to the walk-in closet. Before she shuts the door, she sticks her head out and mouths for you to let her in. The small slits in the upper part of the door would allow her to watch and listen to the conversation.
"Come in, Wonyoung." You shout toward the door. Nearly forgetting about the shoes on your bed, you toss them under your bed. Hesitantly, Wonyoung opens the door and peers inside. She quickly approaches and lies beside you when she sees you lying in bed. A small smile forms across her face as she relaxes a little. "What did you want to talk about?" You ask, looking over at her. Wonyoung's smile quickly disappears.
"Oh, that's right. Y-young master, I know this is wrong of me to ask, but…." Wonyoung's voice trails off as she looks to the foot of the bed. "Could-could you lend me some money? Just a little."
"What do you need the money for?" You ask, turning to the side to face her.
Wonyoung's chest rises and falls quickly as she fiddles with her fingers. "It’s just that my mom really needs help. She's really sick, and-and I need to make more money." Wonyoung's eyes start to become red as tears well up. "I'm making good money here, but I can't pay her hospital bills anymore and-" Wonyoung tries to wipe her tears away, but they stream down her face faster than she can do so. "I need more; I need more. Please, young master, could you give me some? Anything, please!" Wonyoung turns to face you, her hands reaching for you, desperately grabbing your clothes. "I don't want to lose my mom." She cries into your chest. You wrap your arms around her and rub the back of her head instinctively.
"I'll see what I can do, Wonyoung. Can you give me more information about where she's staying?" Wonyoung explains where her mom is through her cries. You couldn’t just say no to Wonyoung. You didn’t like to see her so sad.
“Thank you, Young Master, Thank you!” You pat Wonyoung’s head until you feel her pull away from you. “I’m sorry that I dumped all that on you.” Wonyoung sniffles and tries to put on a smile for you.
“Don’t worry about that, Wonyoung. I just hope your mom can recover. Maybe you should take the day off; I’ll tell Taeyeon you weren’t feeling well.”
Wonyoung protests your offer. “I can’t do that; I need to make as much money as possible.”
“I said I would take care of it. Wonyoung, this is an order. Take the day off; I’ll make sure you get paid for a full day.” Wonyoung wants to protest further but relents; she takes a deep breath and leaves your room. A few moments go by before Moonbyul opens the door to the closet.
“Well, that’s not what I expected,” Moonbyul says as she jots some notes down.
“You can say that again. I’ll have to try another time.”
“Yeah, well, I should probably get back to work soon. Taeyeon’s going to be on my ass if I’m not doing something. I’ll do some more digging into Chuu; you should too. Or, at the very least, look at Umji. I’ve never been around her long enough to figure anything out.“ You wave Moonbyul off and hand her shoes back to her. “Oh, these are more comfortable; what the hell did you do to them?” MoonByul says as she leaves you alone with your thoughts. Running through your conversation with Moonbyul again, you remember her mentioning the name Jihyo. You try to put a face to the name but can’t. You don’t even recall a woman by that name working here.
“Master, I’m coming in.” The door opens, and Hwasa steps inside, closing the door behind her.
You take the opportunity to ask Hwasa before she says anything else. “Hwasa, do we have a woman named Jihyo working here?”
Hwasa tilts her head as she walks over to you. “Jihyo? No, I can’t say that we do. Let’s not think about whoever that is right now, though.” Hwasa lays down on top of you. “I think you need to clear your head a bit more,” She says while slowly moving her finger down your chest. “And I need to lower my stress.” Hwasa presses her lips on your neck before slowly moving down. Her hands slip under your shirt as she pulls it off of you. As Hwasa moves down your body, she feels your growing cock press against her chest. “I think the big guy missed me,” Hwasa says before laughing. She pulls off your shorts and boxers before quickly taking hold of your cock. Hwasa lays between your legs as she strokes your shaft. Her soft hand slides up and down as her saliva falls over the tip. Using the saliva, Hwasa picks up her pace. You moan her name, drawing a smile from her. “I love hearing you moan my name.” Hwasa’s low voice is music to your ears as she adds a more sexual tone to her speech. While you weren’t looking, Hwasa lowered the top part of her uniform; her breasts are now free. She presses them against your shaft. “Do you want my nice soft tits around your cock Master?”
“Please, Hwasa.”
“Anything for my Master,” Hwasa says as she surrounds your shaft with her soft mounds. She slowly raises them, making your tip disappear between them before dropping back down to the base of your shaft. Hwasa takes the time to lap at the head of your cock, before giving it a sloppy kiss. “I missed you too.” She says quietly before restarting her titjob. You continue to groan her name as she speeds up. Hwasa's tits become covered in her saliva the more she uses her plump breasts to service your cock. She takes another lick of the tip, getting a slightly salty taste. “Mmm, I love this taste,” She moans. Your precum begins to get all over her breasts; it’s only ever interrupted when she decides she wants another taste. Feeling your cock begin to throb, Hwasa stops using her tits. One of her hands begins to pump your shaft while she sucks on the head. Her tongue flicks back and forth quickly while her other hand cups your balls, playing with them. “Go ahead and cum for me.” You release all of your built-up tension and cum inside Hwasa’s mouth; she eagerly drinks it up. When she’s finished, a tiny bit of cum rolls down from the corner of her mouth, only to be caught as she licks her lips. “What a nice meal, but I think I have another mouth that wants some too.” Hwasa gets off your bed to remove her uniform before she straddles you.
Hwasa’s wet cut rubs against your shaft before she squats over you. Cock in hand, she presses the tip against her entrance; as soon as it’s in, she drops her weight on it, impaling herself. “Fuck yes,” Hwasa moans. “I needed this so badly,” Hwasa raises herself up and drops down again. You can feel her pussy clamp down on your cock; her tightness makes you moan loudly whenever she swallows your cock. You reach up, groping her breasts as she bounces on your cock. “That’s it, play with my big tits.” Hearing her approving moans, you find Hwasa's tiny brown nipple and pinch it. “Oh shit.” She moans. You see her grimace as you pull on one of her nipples. Hwasa’s moans grow louder as she rides you; the increased pleasure makes her squirm. This worsens as you buck your hips and meet Hwasa in the middle. You feel her walls tighten around your cock.
“I’m going to cum,” she moans. Your hands leave Hwasa’s tits and move down to her waist. You start bringing her down with force, making your cock go deeper into Hwasa’s tight cunt. “Master, I’m going to cum!” Hwasa yells. Moving your hands down a little lower, you spank Hwasa.
“Hold on just a little bit longer, Hwasa.” You hold Hwasa's big ass, your hands digging into the soft flesh.
“Yes, Master!” Hwasa cries as she rides you. Her hair is messy as she grabs her tits. She pinches and pulls on her nipples, drawing even more moans from her. Your balls begin to tighten as you continue your thrusts. Watching Hwasa’s tits bounce as she rode you was driving you up a wall; unable to hold on any longer, you sped up your thrusts.
“I’m cumming, Hwasa! Cum with me!” Hwasa lets out a loud moan as she cums on your cock. She throws her head back as she feels your cock bury itself deep inside her pussy. Hwasa’s pussy milks your cock, taking every drop of cum from you as she falls onto your chest. Feeling the warmth of your cum inside her, Hwasa lays her head on your chest and starts to fall asleep. You buck your hips, sending a wave of pleasure her way and keeping her awake.
“Oh, Master.” She moans. Feeling her soft tits against your chest is nice; her small nipples drag against you as she slowly lifts herself back up. “Thank you, Master. I feel all better now.” As she slowly lifts herself off your cock you can see in her eyes she’s tempted to drop back down on it. A knock at the door stops her, however.
“Hey, I need to talk. I found something.” Moonbyul says from the other side of the door. She opens it without hesitation; walking into the room, she sees Hwasa on top of you, sweaty and naked. “Woah, I see I walked in on something here.”
As she’s about to step outside, Hwasa comments. “I guess now you know what makes me so special I bet you wish you were me.” Hwasa sits on the bed and begins to stroke your cock.
Moonbyul purses her lips as she turns around to face Hwasa. She catches sight of your cock and is stunned for a moment. “I’m willing to bet I’m a hell of a lot better than you. I wouldn’t go running my mouth.” Moonbyul, obviously irritated by Hwasa’s words, makes her way toward you.
Hwasa meets her halfway, blocking her from getting to you. “Who do you think you are?” The two women remain in a standoff, glaring at each other.
Desert Rose
Chapter 47 ~ Infected
✧ Pairing : Daryl Dixon x Rose
✧ Era : Season 4
✧ Word Count : 5k
In this chapter ~ All was well in the early morning, until the group discovers chaos breaking out in one of the cellblocks, leading to many deaths that none of them were prepared for. They soon discover an illness is beginning to spread, needing to act on it fast before it only got worse.
I woke up the next morning with Daryl's arms still wrapped protectively around my waist whilst my head rested against his chest. I easily could've let myself laugh at how hard he was sleeping, he was practically knocked out cold. It wasn't too early in the morning, I could tell, but I knew nobody else would be up yet at this hour. The sun was just barely beginning to rise.
After slowly allowing myself to wake, I tried to cautiously worm my way out of his hold so I could shower before everyone else started to get up for the day. It was never a fun thing when the bathroom was constantly crowded. But right as I was sitting on the edge of the bed and about to stand, familiar arms wrapped around me again and pulled me back into him with ease. I laughed quietly at his movements, my back was now pressed against his chest.
"No." he muttered into my neck.
"We have to get ready eventually." I pointed out, knowing the long day we had planned ahead of us.
He left a few light kisses on my neck before saying, "Yeah, eventually meanin...eventually." he spoke in a slow, teasing manner.
I smiled, "Well, I wanted to take a shower this morning before anyone else woke up."
That caused him to perk up quite quickly, and I could feel him pull away so he was sat up on his elbows. I turned to look at him over my shoulder and gave him an innocent smile.
He raised his eyebrows, "I'll meet cha there." he said with a wink.
That made my eyes sparkle as I eagerly nodded my head before getting up and heading towards the showers. I was lost in my own little world as I walked past a few cell clocks, the echoing of my footsteps being the only thing I could hear in the odd silence. I began going over in my head about what I had to get done that day, also hoping to catch a glimpse Michonne at least once more before she was most likely going to head out again. Knowing she wouldn't be staying long. But what I was really focused on is how I wouldn't be showering alone this morning, and that brought a smirk to my face.
Though my thoughts then cut short suddenly when I heard a weird sound coming from down the hallway I walked past, making me stop for a moment and backtrack a few steps as I paused to listen. The darkened hallway led to a separate cellblock, and I could've sworn the noise sounded just like a walker, but I didn't want to freak out if it was nothing as I remained calm. I slowly took out the knife I always had on me and followed slowly to where the distant sound was coming from.
But then my heart stopped beating completely. There were screams.
I quickly broke into a sprint, my feet not being able to carry me there fast enough, and when I saw what it looked like in the cellblock, I could've sworn my heart fell clean out of my chest. There were walkers everywhere surrounding the space, hearing others screaming at the top of their lungs while a few kids held onto each other for dear life.
I recognized Lizzy and Mika standing the closest to me, a walker was about to attack them as they screamed and gripped onto each other tightly. I quickly threw my knife into the walker's skull and it fell down in an instant, their heads whipping toward me the second they saw it go down.
My arm reached out as I pulled the two of them aside, "Are you bit?" I asked as my eyes scanned them.
They both shook their heads frantically and I had to act fast, "Go get anyone you can find, okay? Tell them what's happening. Hurry!" I yelled, pushing them to safety and they were off faster than I had ever seen them run.
I turned my attention back to the chaos in front of me and took down as many walkers as I could. Trying my best to get the kids around me to safety, telling them to stick together and run out the second they saw an opportunity. I couldn't believe the disaster that unfolded in just a matter of minutes it seemed like. So much death, so much destruction. And so, so much blood. A scene straight out of a horror movie.
My feet rushed up the stairs to the remaining cells and instantly spotted another walker trying to grab ahold of an older man, causing me to throw my knife at it in record speed before it got the chance. As it fell, he looked at me gratefully and I nodded at him in return, telling him frantically to get somewhere safe as I ushered him down the steps.
I looked back to my right to see a few kids crying in the cell, and I shut the door with a slam so they would have a little more protection from the walkers that still lingered in the area. I killed two more of them that were coming at me in the narrow walkway, and it was then and only then I heard heavy footsteps stomping inside the cellblock, my name being called out only seconds later.
Daryl and Rick both simultaneously yelled for me as they had barely passed through the entrance, "I'm here! Protect the others, I'm okay!" I yelled back as I stabbed another walker, the blood splattering all over the wall in front of me.
The screams never stopped, and the dead bodies only seemed to triple in the few minutes that passed by. I helped a few more kids down the stairs so they could make it out safely, and I double checked the cells around me to make sure there were no more dead ones that I had missed on the top floor.
And while I didn't come across another, I found one of our people laying there lifeless in his bed, his stomach torn open to shreds. It was devastating, but I knew I couldn't let him turn, taking in a breath before leaning down to stab him in the head with a heavy heart. The noise outside only seemed to die down and all you could hear now was people catching their breaths as the remaining dead seemed to finally be taken care of.
My pace picked up again as I heard my name being called once more, rushing down the steps before I was instantly pulled aside by Daryl. "Ya okay? Are ya bit?" he asked frantically.
I took in a breath as I nodded, "I'm okay." I confirmed as he brought me into a tight hug.
I held onto him for a few moments, regaining my composure as I tried to steady my racing heart. Thinking back to how fast it all seemed to happen. My eyes then traveled towards Rick who approached the two of us, silently nodding to him to show him I was fine. He visibly sighed in relief and placed a hand on my shoulder as we looked around at all the dead bodies that filled cellblock D.
There was blood everywhere, coating the floors, the walls, similar to when we first had to clean this place up. People were crying from every corner of the room as they saw the amount of people we just lost, somehow the disaster only getting worse as they saw some of their family members get ripped apart right in front of them.
Eventually we managed to clear the entire place, making sure that all the people we found...didn't come back. It was hard looking at all the dead bodies that surrounded the floors and I felt myself frown when we found Patrick, the familiar face that I talked to only yesterday. I didn't know the kid that well, but it never ceased to amaze me how quickly someone can be taken away like its nothing.
It seemed as though the incident at the Big Spot only caused everything else to snowball into something much bigger.
Rick's voice then echoed around the space, calling the rest of us to the top floor as he was down on his knees, inspecting a body on the floor. We all gathered around the tight space quickly, looking down to see it was someone unrecognizable to me with blood coming out of their mouth and eyes. I cringed at the sight as Dr. S took a closer look at the body, getting down to its level to see what might've caused it.
"No bites, no wounds, I think he just died." Rick voiced out loud as he glanced over it for the final time.
"Horribly too," Dr. S stated, "Pleurisy aspiration."
I blinked a few times in confusion, "English please."
"Choked to death on his own blood." Hershel clarified from next to me.
I grimaced, "Jesus."
"I've seen them before on a walker outside," Rick stated, "A few of them had the same thing when they were lined up along the fences."
"We saw 'em on Patrick too." Daryl said.
Dr. S sighed to himself as he sat up, "They're from the internal lung pressure building up...like if you shake a soda can and pop the top. Only imagine your eyes, ears, nose, and throat are the top."
"Is it a sickness from the walkers?" I asked.
He shook his head, "No, these things happened before they were around. Could be pneumococcal, most likely an aggressive flu strain."
"Someone locked him in just in time." Hershel said.
Daryl shook his head, "Nah man, Charlie used to sleepwalk, locked himself in. Hell, he was eatin barbecue yesterday. How can somebody die in a day just from a cold?"
"I had a sick pig, it died quick. Saw a sick boar in the woods." Rick said.
"Pigs and birds, that's how these things spread in the past. We need to do something about those hogs." Hershel said.
"Maybe we got lucky. Maybe these two cases are it." Dr. S spoke hopefully.
I tried not to roll my eyes, "Yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath." I muttered sarcastically.
"All of us in here, we've all been exposed." Hershel said sadly, slowly looking back towards me as if he could feel the worry already radiating off of me.
I cursed under my breath and had to step out of the cell, pulling my hair to the side as I began to do the one thing I shouldn't: Think. I wasn't worried about myself at all, that's not the reason I was suddenly overwhelmed. It was the fact that some of the people I cared about the absolute most had now been exposed to this. Were now at risk of catching it. I couldn't even fathom the idea of losing any of them right now.
"We should set up a council meeting to talk about this." Rick suggested, coming out with the others, "I'm gonna go talk to Carl first." he announced, and we all seemed to wordlessly nod in return.
Only about an hour passed as the news about what happened had spread fast, a couple of council members gathered around in the library, talking about the sudden new outbreak. What we planned to do next was still completely unknown to us, and the unknown was a terrifying place.
We didn't know anything. How fast the illness can spread, what would be the cure, how we could stop it from reaching anyone else, we truly didn't know a damn thing. Though something we were well aware of was how dangerous it could be, risking all of our lives in the process of trying to figure everything out.
My leg bounced anxiously under the table as I was sat between Daryl and Glenn, my mind racing as I thought about the potential outcome of this.
"Patrick was fine yesterday, and he died overnight. Two people died that quick? We'll have to separate everyone that's been exposed." Carol said.
"That's everyone in that cell block," Daryl stated, "That's all of us...maybe more."
Hershel took a breath, "We know that this sickness can be lethal, we don't know how easy it spreads. Is anyone else showing symptoms that we know of?"
Daryl's eyes glanced over at me, how easily he could tell I was spacing off with millions of thoughts running through my head. I then felt the warmth of his hand on my knee that was bouncing moments ago, stopping my movements before giving it a reassuring squeeze. This made me look up at him and all I saw was a small smile on his face, but it seemed forced, and I knew he was worried just as much as I was.
"We can't just wait and see, there's children. It isn't just the illness, people die, they become a threat." Carol with clear urgency.
The older man thought for a minute before saying, "We need a place for them to go, they can't stay in D. We can't risk going in there to clean it up."
I spoke up for the first time, "We can use cellblock A." I suggested.
"Death row? I'm not sure that's much of an upgrade." Glenn muttered.
"It's clean. That's an upgrade." Daryl defended, "Do ya think that'll work for Dr, S?" he asked Hershel.
He nodded, "I'll help Caleb get it set up there."
He looked like he was about to say more, but we all were stunned to silence when we heard some rough coughing coming from the hallway. Everyone's ears perked up and soon we all stood in the doorway with our heads poking out to see who it was. My face fell a little when I saw Ty and Karen making their way down the hall, Karen holding a tissue to her face as she continued to cough, not being able to catch her breath easily.
I heard Ty whisper, "You okay?" and she only nodded her head in response, before letting out another raspy cough.
I then stepped out with furrowed brows, "Are you sure? That doesn't sound too good."
Ty gave me a reassuring smile, "I'm just taking her back to my cell so she can rest, it's okay Rose."
"Tyreese, I don't think that's a good idea." Hershel spoke.
"Why, what's going on now?" Karen asked.
There was a beat of silence and no one really knew how to approach it. And at this point we were all standing in the hallway with them, our worried expressions now on full display. It was clear none of us wanted to be blunt, but we kind of had to for them to know how serious this was.
Glenn eventually bit the bullet, "We think it's a flu or something, it's how Patrick died."
"Judith is in that cellblock, she's vulnerable. Anyone that may be sick, or even exposed should stay away." Hershel advised.
My heart dropped when I heard him say her name. I couldn't even think about her getting sick let alone losing her forever, the thought alone nearly killed me.
"It killed Patrick?" Karen asked worriedly.
"Hey, hey, it's going to be okay." Tyreese was quick to reassure her before turning back to us, "Now that we know what Patrick died from, we can treat it right?"
"Don't panic, we're going to figure this out. But we should keep you separated in the meantime. We'll have Caleb take a look at you and I'll see what we have in the way of medications." Hershel said with a nod.
Karen thought for a moment before saying, "David from the Decatur group; he's been coughing too."
"I'll get him." Glenn offered before turning towards me, "There's some empty clean cells in the tunnels, right?" he asked.
"Yeah, there should be." I said absentmindedly.
He nodded, giving my arm a squeeze before walking down the hall to track David down and break the news to him. Sasha then got her brother's attention, offering to lead them into a cell where Karen could be looked at and they seemed to follow her there without hesitation.
"We'll have to call another meeting later like Rick wanted." Hershel said to the ones who remained.
I nodded at him, "Okay." I muttered.
He looked at me for a moment longer than usual before placing a comforting hand on my shoulder, "It'll be alright, dear." he whispered.
I sighed before placing my hand on top of his as I nodded, mustering the best smile I could right now before watching him walk away, leaving the three of us.
My eyes panned back up to notice Carol spacing off, "You okay?" I asked to get her attention.
"I'm worried about Lizzy and Mika...they were around Patrick." she said.
"We all were." Daryl stated, "But it'll be fine...Karen and David are gonna be separated till they feel better."
She nodded, "You're right. I'm gonna head out to check on them now." she said with a small smile before walking away just like the rest.
I leaned up against the wall across from him and sighed as my eyes fluttered closed. It seemed like we were finally getting our lives together, and now this illness was killing multiple people at a time in just a few hours. It practically tore everything down that we tried so hard to rebuild.
"Aye," Daryl's voice cut in, "What's goin on in that pretty head of yours?" he asked while stepping up to come closer to me.
I rolled my eyes slightly at the question, "You know what I'm thinking about, you can read me like a book...it's annoying."
He chuckled a little, "Yeah, I know...tell me anyway."
My hand reached up to pinch the bridge of my nose, "I'm just worried about everyone. All the people in that cellblock, the rest of us, the kids, Judith...you. I- I don't want to lose anyone else." I said sadly.
His expression morphed into concern as he walked closer to me and placed a hand on the side of my face, "Hey, it's gonna be alright. We're gonna get through this, we always do."
I nodded, "I know... it just sucks right now. You know, when we don't know shit about something and then some people have to die for us to eventually figure it out." He nodded in understanding. "Just...don't leave me, okay?" I said barely above a whisper.
I knew it sounded pathetic, and hell, maybe it was. But the last thing I wanted was to be alone right now. And the haunting feeling of losing him still lingered in the back of my mind.
He shook his head quickly, "Never." he promised before leaning in to kiss me gently.
I felt myself practically melt at the gesture as I allowed myself to have somewhat of a peaceful moment with him. A part of me felt bad that I needed his reassurance most of the time, but at the same time, I don't think he minded in the slightest. Clearly, he was in it for the long haul.
When we broke apart, he leaned down to rest his forehead against mine, "M' gonna start buryin our people."
I nodded slowly, "Okay. But where a mask, gloves...please stay safe."
"I will." he said as he rubbed his thumb along my bottom lip before kissing me briefly once more, then pulling away fully to head out and take care of everything.
I stood in that eerie hallway longer than I would ever like to admit, lost in my own thoughts with my arms wrapped around my middle. At this point, overthinking should become another one of my hobbies. I knew it was okay to worry, but I was going to start going bald soon if I kept my mind running constantly. At least that thought was enough to bring a small laugh out of me.
Eventually, I slowly made my way out of the hall and towards the cells where I knew Glenn was headed to. I stopped by and helped him clean out as many of them as possible just in case more people came in feeling sick suddenly. He accepted my help gratefully as he was nearly finished with the first one, both of us just needing something to do as somewhat of a distraction.
Though I noticed something small when the silence overcame us. We were changing some sheets on one of the mattresses when I noticed how he seemed to be breathing a bit heavier than before, trying to subtly wipe the sweat off of his forehead. No. No way.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked.
He looked up at me in slight surprise, like a deer in headlights almost. "Yeah?" he breathed, "Why wouldn't I be?"
"Well, all we're doing is changing some sheets, and you're acting as if you just ran a marathon." I pointed out.
He huffed out a small laugh, "I'm okay Ro, really." he said with a wave of his hand, turning his gaze back down to tuck in his end of the bedding.
Though I kept staring at him in concern, I wasn't convinced in the slightest and he noticed, "Seriously...I'm okay." he tried again.
Eventually, I gave in and nodded my head as we continued on. Maybe I was just reading too much into everyone's moves right now since the situation was so severe, but I didn't want to take any chances. However, I never missed out of the corner of my eye, I would catch him wiping more sweat off of his face and glance over to see if I noticed. I always did, but he never seemed to catch on.
Once the two of us finally finished cleaning up the cells, I informed him I was going to go outside and get some air. We had been in the stuffy small rooms for far too long and it felt like I couldn't breathe, especially now with all the sick people air floating around.
The moment I stepped outside, the sun shined brightly down on my face and a relieved smile crossed my features. My eyes automatically closed as I tried to focus on the vitamin D I was receiving, but when I opened them again, I looked around and saw everyone's depressed faces. It was so much quieter today than it has been in a very long time, leaving everyone's spirits a little more crushed. My smile faded once again, and I noticed some were crying at the loss of their loved ones this morning. Shit this was heartbreaking.
My gaze then traveled out onto the field to see Rick and Daryl having a seemingly serious conversation. Ricks hands being firmly planted on his hips were a dead giveaway. But I wanted to check on him, having not seen him since this morning and I knew he was on edge just like everyone else. Even though he was no longer the so called "leader" anymore, I knew a part of him still felt responsible for this sort of thing.
As I got closer and further into the grass, I still couldn't make out what they were saying, but once Rick heard my footsteps, he turned around to face me. I gave him a small smile as I opened my mouth to say something, but then stopped short once I saw Daryl had his bandana dropped below his chin as he continued to dig.
"Hey," I called out to him, watching as he turned to face me the moment he heard my voice. I made a motion like I was pulling the mask up and he got the hint, pulling the cloth back over his face. Annoyance was still brewing in me however as I felt I hadn't gotten my point across yet, walking closer to smack him on the back of the head.
"Ow," he muttered, "What was that for?" I could hear him ask, although it was muffled by the material in front of his mouth.
"You told me you were going to be safe, and I find you out here with the mask down as you're burying the bodies." I spoke
He rubbed the spot where I hit him, "I was talkin to Rick, woman." he said defensively.
I raised an eyebrow and gave him a pointed look, "Sorry." he muttered quickly as he ducked his head, turning back to continue digging.
"Mhm." I hummed before turning back to Rick, seeing his lips pressed together as he tried not to laugh at the two of us, to which I rolled my eyes. "How're you doing?"
"Worried." he said simply, his brow creasing as he spoke, "And...I don't know. I don't think I should have a call on making this decision."
"Rick, you've earned it."
Daryl suddenly whipped around and pointed towards me, "That's what I said." he spoke excitedly.
"Ah, great minds think alike." I smiled before looking back towards Rick, "But seriously, you have. I'm not saying you should take all that responsibility back on your own, but at least be a part of it. We still need you; you know?" I said, gently nudging his arm with mine.
He smiled small at my reassurance, though he still looked to be on the fence about everything as a whole. But he didn't have the chance to respond even if he wanted to, as the next thing that was heard was a panicked yell that belonged to Maggie.
"Guys!" she screamed to get our attention, pointing back to one of the fences that the walkers were piling up on. We all saw how it was about to fall over with the amount of them pushing on it, bending it over as they practically crawled on top of each other to try and make it on the other side.
"Son of a bitch." I cursed and wasted no time running towards the fence, the other two hot on my heels.
As we ran closer and closer, I grabbed one of the crowbars that were lined up with the other weapons for killing them, in case things went south. Maggie frantically told us that the various noise recently only drew them closer and now this part of the fence was going to give out in a matter of seconds. Glenn, Sasha, and Ty came running quickly after us the moment they saw what was going down, and we all together tried to pick them off.
I stabbed through their heads harshly, watching one by one as they fell to the ground, everyone else scattering around as they did the same. Daryl stood back slightly as he shot bolts through their heads, but it hardly looked like any of us were making any progress. There was too many of them for us to even begin to make a dent through.
All of a sudden Sasha called out, "Are you seeing this?" causing us all to stop momentarily to see what she was talking about.
I stood on one side of her, and my mouth fell open at the amount of dead rats that were left by part of the fence. They all were missing heads as the rest of their bodies were still intact which confused me yet made me sick at the same time. That alone explained how the walker build-up happened all at once and so fast, the hunger they felt overtaking them as they smelled the fresh blood.
"Is someone feeding these things?" she asked.
"I don't know." I muttered with widened eyes.
The fence then suddenly started squeaking more as they shoved their way though, "Heads up!" Daryl yelled as he watched from a distance.
We all quickly went back to our spots to take each of them out once more, but far too many of them began using all their weight on it as it was leaning further into us. At this rate it was going to give out with the number of dead ones surrounding it. We stopped trying to kill them once the realization hit all of us, beginning to push the fence back all together so it wouldn't completely collapse. We weren't successful however, and they were still too strong.
"Back up, back up! It's coming down!" Daryl yelled as he quickly yanked me back to where he was standing, the rest jumping back in shock.
"The fence keeps bending in like that, those walkers are coming over it." Sasha said frantically.
Rick's eyes darted around as his mind continued to spiral, though suddenly, a lightbulb appeared on top of his head. He called for Daryl, nodding for him to follow as he rushed back towards the entrance as I hoped he had some kind of plan. The rest of us were left to fight them off until the last possible second.
Sweat pooled on my skin and my muscles ached as I held up a part of the fence while Maggie killed the ones off right next to my head. I felt my arms begin to shake as my body grew far more tired than I wanted it to, gritting my teeth together as I planted my feet down in attempts to steady myself. But the weight suddenly seemed to subside a bit, looking over to see Tyreese on my right, helping me hold up my end as he clearly saw me struggling. He gave me a small smile in the process, causing me to look over at him with nothing but gratitude.
My head then lifted as I watched a familiar truck peel out of the front gates, Rick sitting in the bed of it while Daryl drove like a bat out of hell towards us. The vehicle then came to a sudden stop a good distance away from the fence, watching closely as Rick visibly hesitated as the walkers began to take notice of them from just behind their heads. The man then snapped out of it and took one of the pigs in his hold, slicing part of its leg so it couldn't run before dropping it down on the grass for the walkers.
I cringed at the squealing sounds that the animal was making, but we all knew that it had to be done, and it looked to be working. He repeated this motion until the many walkers made their way further and further from the fence, watching as it slowly rose back up once their attention was diverted away from us.
We were now able to put back the wooden planks to prop the fence back up to a level height, leaving it almost completely bent it half after the damage the dead ones did. I stopped to take a breath once I saw we had moved it up enough, my eyes panning back over to see Rick cutting the last pig he had before dropping it, and even I could tell from this far away, it hurt him just as much as the rest of us.
Stepping slightly away from the whole scene, I saw Maggie staring at the squealing animal with sadness behind her eyes, nearly crying as the sounds intensified.
"Come on." I spoke to grab her attention, gesturing for her to follow me.
She nodded and wrapped an arm around my shoulders so we could walk back up to the prison together, trying to just get through the rest of this long day.
I don’t wanna talk right now
Capri Donahue x fem! reader
Warnings: fluff, age regression, crying, implied messy home life
I don't wanna talk right now
I just wanna watch TV
I'll stay in the pool and drown
So I don't have to watch you leave
You all had the day off from school yesterday, so Capri was surprised to see that you weren’t in school today. You couldn’t possibly be sick because she would’ve definitely been able to tell when she was with you just yesterday. Well, it was possible. But Capri hoped you weren’t unwell, she wanted you to be okay. Besides, you were a little upset yesterday which she had picked up on, but you were alright and in better spirits when she went home.
She held off on texting you, or calling you because she knew that you were likely still sleeping if you didn’t reply to her first few texts. Maybe you overslept, she thought.
“Capri.” She felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned her head, now face to face with Darby.
“Yeah?” Capri asks absentmindedly.
“Are you alright?” Darby squints, “You seem a little…stressed.”
Capri hums, “Yeah, I’m fine. I just don’t know why y/n isn’t in class today. This isn’t like her.”
“Maybe she’s not feeling too well and she’s asleep. I’m sure she’ll let you know.” Darby answered. Capri was fiddling with her phone and decided to shoot you another text.
The day before, there was a tryout of sorts for a new cheer captain for the new school year and you went for it, heeding Capri’s advice. But things went awry when you fell and wound up with a sprained ankle. From that point on, you were embarrassed and then angry, and then just plain sad. You held it together, though. But hey, that didn’t exactly work out in your favour. Now that regression has been triggered. You were home alone, laying in your bed and curled up under the covers. Hearing your phone buzzing again, you grabbed it and decided to respond, guessing that it was Capri.
She could not understand what you texted her. Which meant that she was right. You were regressed. The rest of the day went by even slower, now that she knew what was going on with you. After lunch, Capri and Darby ran into each other again. And Darby asks her if she’s heard back from you. “She texted me back. She should be okay, I’ll definitely be going over to hers after school, though.”
“That’s good. I’m glad she’s responding.”
Capri hums, nodding her head. Then, they continue walking in silence towards their class. She couldn’t stop watching the clock, she wanted to be with you. She was worried.
Now, you…you haven’t done much today except have a little something to eat for breakfast. After that, you were back in bed again. You managed to fall back asleep until you heard the doorbell go off. Initially, you ignored it but then whoever it was started knocking on the front door. You groaned softly, rolling over and getting out of bed. The knocks got more hurried, you sigh. “It’s me, baby!” Hearing the familiar voice, you quickly unlocked the door and swung it open. “Hi.” She greeted again softly, “Can I come in, love?”
You nodded, stepping aside to let her walk inside. You let the door shut again, she locked it back up. “What’ve you been doing?” She asks, messing with your hair a little. You let out an exhale in amusement, shrugging your shoulders. Glancing at the clock on the wall, she asks, “Have you eaten?”
“Breakfast.” You told her. Then, you were walking upstairs again, wanting to get back in your bed. But, she stops you easily with a hand on your shoulder. “Hey. What’s wrong, darling?”
Your head hung low as you licked your lips, biting back a sigh. Her hand slides off your shoulder, letting you continue walking while she follows close behind. You hid back under the covers, Capri just sat next to you. In silence. Capri wasn’t sure how she felt about the silence, despite being low-energy when regressed, you were usually still quite chatty. She still didn’t know if you were okay— on account of you not talking to her. This wasn’t the norm, and she was not having any of the silence.
“Baby, you wanna talk about what’s bothering you?”
You didn’t budge, and little by little, her irritation grew more intense. Your eyes were now closed, she gave up and just sat there in silence— arms crossed out of habit as she picked at her nails to distract herself. Several minutes passed, she was still watching you. You had your back against her but now your eyes were open, You couldn’t sleep. Things just felt off to you. You felt like she was irritated with you. Worse— angry at you. Hesitantly, you rolled over onto your back. You were so— so tense. Tears were already brimming in your eyes. You hated this feeling, that and the lump in your throat. It ached. One sniffle and she was focusing on you again.
“Are you mad at me?” You croaked, swallowing uncomfortably.
Capri blinks profusely, gaze softening, “No. Baby, I’m not. I’m not mad, I’m worried.”
“You are...” You sobbed.
“Baby…”
“I didn’t do good at the cheer thing.” You sniffed, hiccuping.
The cheer tryouts for new cheer captain. Shit.
“You did, you did so good, baby.” Capri felt like someone had just ripped her heart out and was smashing it in their hands. “I promise.”
You still seemed unsure, lips quivering as you laid on your side looking at Capri. “Come here, baby.” She opened up her arms, gesturing for you to snuggle with her. But before you could move, she scooted closer to you. “Everything’s okay, love.”
“Everybody yell at me.” You mumbled, “…I scared.”
“That’s not your fault, baby girl.” Capri felt a prick in her eyes as she wrapped her arms around you. You finally melted into her touch, pressed up against her side.
It was complicated…the reasons for your regression. So many factors went into it. And as much as it helped you, she hated that most of the time, you’d cry. Capri didn’t like seeing you sad, she didn’t like seeing you upset, she didn’t like seeing you sick, she didn’t like seeing you in pain. “That’s not your fault.” She continued, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head while you carried on weeping as she held you. Capri never stopped you, knowing that the release of emotions was helpful.
“Daddy doesn’t like me.” You cried.
“I’ve got you, baby. I’ve got you. You’re okay.” She assured. She knew that he’d been…shitty towards you, causing your horrible eating habits. Capri hated his guts. “Should we get something to eat? Hm? What do you want?” You nodded— she felt it. But you did not dare to tell her what you wanted to eat. Capri rubs your back in encouragement, “It’s okay, baby. Anything you want.”
“Cheeseburger.” You told her timidly.
Her heart was aching. She knew you were struggling so hard, being a cheerleader too was physically demanding. You always watch what you ate, in addition to your Dad’s strict ‘rules’ he had for you that he claimed were for your own good.
“Let’s go for a drive in my car.” She suggested, “We’re going to get cheeseburgers. Right now.”
“Okay.” You agreed. She sees your lips tugging into a tiny smile, and she smiled back. “You want me to pick out an outfit for you?”
“Yes, please.” You swallowed thickly trying to get rid of the crying feeling.
She picked out a pastel purple t-shirt for you and a pair of comfy black and white checkered long pants. “You want my help, love?”
You shook your head no and proceeded to get changed rather quickly. “There we go.” Capri grins, “Good job!”
“Can I bring Muffin?” You asked hopefully, looking over your shoulder at the small black and grey puppy plush on your bed.
Capri said, “Of course you can.” You happily grabbed the toy, then Capri’s hand before she walked downstairs with you to her car. Buckling you in, she started the engine and headed towards a nearby Wendy’s. Capri knew that you preferred that place over others.
————
While she ordered at the kiosk, you stood right behind her holding her hand. She squeezes your hand every now and then while her eyes were focused on the order. “You want a frosty, sweetie?”
“Yeah.” You nodded slightly.
“Vanilla?”
You confirmed with another nod. She promptly went ahead and clicked on that option and paid. Then, she led you to a table and sat down with you. You looked at her and chuckled, she reached forward to ruffle with your hair. Placing your stuffed animal on the table, you said, “Hi~”
“Hi, baby.” Capri smiled, “Feeling okay?”
“Mhm.” You nodded, an innocent expression on your face that made her heart melt.
“That’s good.” She held onto your hand, laughing again, you fiddled with the rings on her fingers. She didn’t know why you were so amused, but she loved seeing you happy and smiling. Capri would never openly admit it while you were not regressed, but you knew. You just knew it. Well…most of the time.
When the order number was called out, Capri went off to get the food and quickly returned. You watched her the whole time. “Alrighty, let’s eat, baby.” She helped you unwrap your burger then handed it to you.
“Thank you.” You grinned excitedly, taking it from her with both hands.
“You’re welcome.” Capri couldn’t help but smile as well. While you ate, she dug into her food too. The silence that filled the space was finally comfortable again.
“You wanna go to my house later?” She asks awhile later.
You nodded in agreement eagerly, “I like your house.”
“You do?” Capri continued, to keep you engaged.
“Yeah.” You chuckled, “Nice blankies…and it’s quiet.”
Capri hums, nodding silently before she gave you a loving smile, “I’m glad you like it there.” In fact, she would very much prefer you to be at her place instead of being at your own home. Despite having divorced parents, things were amicable and she lived with her Dad. And her Dad, absolutely didn’t mind having you over at theirs. Anyway, you had whatever you needed there so you could sleep over at any time.
After eating, you two were back in her car. Capri started driving again, but she didn’t tell you where you guys were headed yet. You didn’t exactly find the surroundings too familiar, but you didn’t mind. You trusted her. You just looked out the window, curious.
She took a peek at you, feeling her lips tug into yet another smile— this one goes unnoticed by you. “We’re going to Target.”
“Target?” You repeated, brows furrowed together in thought.
“The store.” She explained, “To get a snack, maybe look at some toys?”
“Oh.” Your face relaxed, “Okay.”
“Do you want to play some games on my phone?” Capri asked. You nodded. “Go ahead, baby. My phone’s right there in the cup holder.” You spotted it and took it out, swiping up to unlock it. She had you scan your face for Face ID awhile ago so you had access to her phone as well. you also knew her password. But Face ID was to make it easier for you in times like now.
Her phone kept you occupied for the remainder of the drive and she took it from you before you two stepped out of her car. Capri held onto your hand, swinging it slightly. “You wanna help me grab a cart?”
You agreed to it excitedly. Once inside the store, she let go of your hand. She helps you with the task but once a cart was pulled out, she let you push it. “What snacks do you want, kiddo?”
You hummed in thought and gave her a shrug. “Anything you want, baby. I’ll buy it for you.” Capri nudged. She had to admit, she was pretty sad seeing your indecisiveness even during regression when it came to eating. It wasn’t just indecisiveness because you were shy, but because of what was the norm for you when you weren’t regressed. “It’s okay.” Capri continued, hand rubbing your back.
Eventually, you two got to the snack aisle, you were either amazed or overwhelmed by the options. When you stopped in front of the section of cookies, Capri decided it was the former. “Can I get cookies?” You looked at her, eyes seemingly attempting to gauge how she was feeling. Capri was in a good mood, still. So you eased up. “Yes, you can.” She took the pack of Chewy Chips Ahoy from you and placed it in the cart. “Do you want Goldfish?” She was facing the other shelf that was behind her.
“I have it.” You mumbled.
Capri bites back a sigh, heart clenching at how you seemed currently. Maybe it was time to move on to the toy aisle instead of trying to encourage you to get a few snacks. She grabs a bag of pretzel Goldfish without you noticing and put it in the cart. Capri knew it was your favourite, and that you said you had some left at home…but the bag in the pantry of her kitchen was the original flavour crackers. Not this kind.
“How about a toy?”
“Really?” You looked at her, as unsure as ever. Capri kisses you on the cheek, “Really.” Hearing that, you headed towards a specific section with her holding your hand. She knew exactly what you were after— anything Bluey was your favourite. But because of the fact that you still lived at home, you actually didn’t have much of anything little you would’ve wanted. You touched some of the toys on the shelf to check them out but nothing really caught your eye until you saw these few giant sized plushies sitting on the shelf. You chuckled, squishing the plushie’s hand as you felt the fabric. “You like this one, little love?” Capri asks softly, finding herself grinning at how happy you were.
It didn’t take much to cheer you up during regression, but who likes seeing someone they care about being upset, right?
“Yeah, I like this.” You told her. “Let’s get it.” Capri agreed instantaneously, grabbing the awfully oversized toy off the shelf.
You gasped, “What?”
“I’m buying this for you.” She laughs at the pure cuteness of your facial expression.
“No wayyy.” You looked at her in disbelief.
She nodded, “Yes way. Into the cart she goes.”
Pretty soon, you moved onto a different topic. “Do you have juice?”
“I have apple juice at home.” She confirmed.
“Okay. Hehe.” You clung onto her arm as you continued walking through aisle after aisle with Capri. She grabbed some other groceries she needed but you guys were at the checkout. You hid behind her suddenly, and Capri got a little startled. “Baby, what is it?”
You pointed to someone one checkout lane over, “He’s here.”
“It’s okay, baby. I got you, we’re leaving soon.” Thankfully, he’d just joined the line while you and Capri were almost ready to pay and leave. You hid behind Capri the whole time, staring in the opposite direction. And even if he did see you, you wouldn’t know.
Once in her car, you were evidently worked up once again. This day really was a tough one. “Why don’t you get some sleep, baby?” She suggests, hand gently caressing your thigh. Capri could tell you were a little sleepy. But you shook your head no. “Baby…please? I’ll snuggle with you when we get to my house? Okay?”
You reluctantly agreed.
“Good girl.” She smiled in relief, leaning over to kiss your head before she started driving home.
————
She pulls you into her lap, resting her chin on your shoulder while her arms were wrapped around you securely. “You wanna sleep some more?”
You nodded sleepily, yawning unintentionally.
“Alrighty, come on.” Capri smooches your cheek then carefully tucked you in, swiftly laying down next to you. She also made sure you had your new toy right near you and that you had your Muffin to hold onto.
“Capri?” You broke the silence, eyes flicking up to look at her.
“Yes, baby?”
“I sad.” You muttered shakily, “I don’t like it.”
“Aw, honey, that’s okay. I’m right here.” She rubs your back soothingly, pulling you closer — if that was even possible.
“I don’t like me.” You revealed.
Capri could swear her heart stopped for a second.
“Baby, why do you say that?” She asked, voice soft but laced with sadness.
“Mommy says she don’t want me.” You hiccuped, “All — all the time.”
“I want you.” She shushed you gently, her hand continuing its calming motion on your back.
“No…” You wailed. “If mommy and daddy don’t like me— why—”
“You’re my baby, sweet girl. You’re mine.” Capri told you wholeheartedly. This has got to be the worst thing she’s ever heard. You have never been this upset. “I love you.”
You couldn’t stop crying, obviously having had a rough few days to help make things worse. “Baby, listen to me.” Capri pushed through her forming tears, “No matter what they try to tell you, none of it is your fault.”
“I’m not a good girl.” You shook your head, unable to accept her words. “Mommy hit me. Daddy didn’t help.”
Oh, fuck. There go the tears for Capri.
“Baby girl, everything is gonna be okay. I promise. I’ll protect you. Just like I always have.” Capri plante a kiss on your head, holding you extra tight. “I’ll do everything I can.”
You were still crying, but eventually calmed down. “I promise.” Capri broke away slightly to hold your face in her hands, “I love you, okay? I love you.”
Seeing your tear-stained cheek and glossy eyes, Capri’s heart shattered into millions of pieces. She couldn’t cry again…not while you were looking at her.
“Okay, baby?” She sniffles, thumb brushing your cheek.
“…Okay.”
“Good.” Capri kisses your forehead. “You’re my baby. Always.” Slowly, she started to pepper kisses all over your face. She knew you were ticklish so she wanted to make you laugh.
“It tickles.” You managed to say through the chuckles.
“Yeah?” She stopped, brushing the hair out of your eyes.
“Yeah.” You said back, pouting your lips to kiss her cheek. Capri laughs breathily, “Aw, thanks.” You proceeded to squish her cheeks which made her laugh harder. “Whatcha doing?”
“Nothin’.” You giggled, “I love youuu.”
“I love you more, sweet girl.”
Nothing compares to the feeling of watching your face light up, or hearing your giggles. She could watch you all day just sitting comfortably watching your favourite cartoons or playing with your toys. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to be around for the tougher things. She was always around. Capri loved you and that would never change…no matter how much life could change. Capri would be the one constant in your life. Your biggest cheerleader.
A Deal With Death
This week has proven that the demon brothers are completely hopeless without MC. According to them, things started out okay, but then a couple of them got in a fight, resulting in a significant part of the House of Lamentation getting flooded and everyone having to sleep in the living room.
During their visits, MC makes sure I communicate their exasperation to them, and I can't say I blame them. I mean, I'd expect seven grown men to be able to take care of themselves, but apparently not.
Today's been quiet, though. Other than Barbatos occasionally poking his head in, no one's stopped by their room today. In order to pass the time, I've been telling MC stories about me and my older sister Candy. They're amused for the most part, so hopefully I'm helping them take their mind off their current predicament, even if it's only for a few moments.
Just when I finish recounting one of many traps that have backfired on me, someone softly knocks on the door.
"It's unlocked!" I holler. The door remains shut for about a minute before slowly opening, creaking as it reveals the one brother who has yet to visit MC.
"I have food," Lucifer murmurs, lifting up a to-go bag high enough for me to see. "I wasn't sure what the state of things were, so I brought enough for the three of us."
"I'm surprised your brothers haven't kept you updated," I reply as he walks over and sits in the chair on the other side of MC's bed. He shrugs.
"After the third day, I told them to not tell me anything unless Zephyr woke up." He reaches in the bag and hands me a plastic container and utensils. I'm pleasantly surprised to find it contains stewed zombie dragon liver. It's a fairly popular dish in reaper cuisine.
"I figured you'd like that better than the demon food you've been forced to eat during your stay here," Lucifer explains softly. "I myself am still getting used to it." I take a bite. It's not the best I've ever had, but it's pretty decent. The fact that someone went out of their way to get something I might like is the important thing.
Lucifer pulls out his plastic container and sets the bag off to the side. After a few minutes of silent eating, he states,
"You must think I'm a horrible person." Thankfully, I've swallowed my food before he said that, because I would have choked otherwise.
"No, of course not! Whatever gave you that idea?"
"The fact that I didn't stop through earlier."
"From what I've heard, you've had your hands full." Lucifer sighs.
"That's an understatement."
"So, give yourself a break. I seriously doubt Zephyr's the type of person to give you grief for not showing up sooner."
Exactly. Quit beating yourself up.
His eyes widen as he looks over at MC. Is he able to hear them?
I know you're stressed. This is a very scary situation, and you've had to remain strong for your brothers. Solomon and Barbatos have been working really hard to figure out a way to wake me up, so hopefully we don't have to deal with this much longer.
Lucifer turns away so that I don't see his face, but I still catch him rubbing his eyes.
I'm a little surprised it's taken this long for their mental connection to manifest itself. Then again, MC may have blocked it on purpose in order to avoid suspicion. I know I didn't believe them when they first told me that they were Lucifer's heir to the Ring of Light. It's only after extensive research that I accepted it to be true. For one, there's no one in the Devildom good enough to create a perfect counterfeit of that, and the ring MC gave to me for safekeeping fits every description of it to a tee. And then there's the fact that it glows whenever they expend a lot of magical energy. There's only a handful of rings that link themselves to people that way, the Ring of Light being one of them.
"You okay?" I ask him once he faces me again.
"I'll be fine. I just have a lot on my mind at the moment." He momentarily resumes eating, but just as quickly he stops, staring directly at me.
"Can you keep a secret?"
"Of course. That's part of my job." I've learned long ago to not question people when they request my services, especially if they're in positions of power. "Do we need to step outside?" Lucifer glances over at MC, appearing deep in thought.
"That won't be necessary. Some of it relates to Zephyr, so it wouldn't be right of me to exclude them."
Your secret is safe with me.
He softly smiles, emphasizing just how tired he is. He probably hasn't gotten much sleep, poor thing. I'll have to make him some of my special tea when we're done here.
"It has to do with my sister. I gave up my freedom to ensure that she could live a full human life. It was either that or permanent death, and I love her too much to have her die unnecessarily." He takes off one of his gloves, revealing Diavolo's mark boldly seared on the top of his hand.
"Does it hurt?"
"Sometimes. He hasn't used its power a whole lot. Only to get me to relax when I'm overly agitated, and only after he's exhausted all other options." Interesting. I know plenty of demons that would abuse that kind of power. Then again, the prince hasn't exactly played by those rules, has he?
"But that's neither here nor there," he continues, putting the glove back on. "Initially, I thought that all of Lilith's soul went into her human body, but it appears as though it's split in half."
"That can happen," I tell him. "Magic has a tendency to separate from the soul when it transfers from one body to the next. Sometimes that magic ends up in an object, but most of the time it just kinda floats, waiting for the most compatible soul to latch itself onto."
"Does it have to be a fresh soul?"
"Not necessarily, although that's the most common method of transference."
"Does the soul also have to be floating in the air, or can it be inside someone?"
"There have been times when magical energy enters the soul while it's in a body, but that's very rare."
"But not impossible."
"No, not impossible." Where is he going with this?
"This might seem far-fetched, and maybe my grief is making me see things that aren't really there, but I feel like part of Lilith's soul has made its way inside Zephyr."
Shit, shit, shit. How the fuck am I suppose to dig my way out of this? Solomon told me that Barbatos, Diavolo, and I are the only ones that are allowed to know MC's full backstory. If Lucifer found out the truth...
"Merely asking out of curiosity, what makes you say that?"
"Have you ever seen a demon produce white energy?"
"Well, no, but--"
"And then there's the time where I glanced at Zephyr's face, and they looked exactly like her."
The energy is left over from my days as a human. That was one of the only things the organization couldn't change. I'd have ended up dead otherwise. As for your sister, it probably is your mind playing tricks on you. Grief can be rather cruel sometimes.
Damn. Solomon's never been able to lie that well. I'm not surprised that Lucifer buys it. If I didn't know better, I would have as well.
"You know, one of the last things she ever told me was that someday I'd meet someone that I loved so deeply that I'd be willing to throw everything away for them, and then I'd finally understand how she felt," Lucifer recalls. "At the time, I dismissed it as immature angst, but now I think she was actually telling my future." He takes MC's hand and wraps it with both of his.
"The truth is, I miss you, Zephyr. It's lonely without you around. Please, wake up." Suddenly, MC's surrounded by a bright, white light that forces me to close my eyes. Even then, I can still see it. It lasts slightly longer than a flash would, and I open my eyes just in time to witness MC quickly sitting up, gasping for air.
Emily's attack
My first attempt at a story!!! Explicit, proceed with caution!!!
***
I had barely gotten inside after a long day at work, still in my paramedic uniform for the day, when she knocked on my door. I checked my watch before I turned around - it was exactly 9pm, the time we had arranged. I was exhausted, not really in the mood for the lesson, but I had told her I would help, and I needed the extra money.
I opened the door and found myself looking... down. She was smaller than I had pictured, and although I didn't have any required criteria for who I could help, I found myself attracting quite a specific clientele: usually women, often young, who found themselves struggling to breathe during their intensive fitness regimen, which left them with excellent figures that made this job, well, easier.
Emily was no exception.
'Hi,' she said quietly when I struggled to form the words. She really was that beautiful, with perfect, plump lips, round breasts and a tight hourglass figure. She wore a tight tank top (no bra - she had read the guidelines for her first appointment) and loose linen shorts. Sometimes, I really loved this business. 'Is this the...'
She let it trail off when I nodded. 'Uh, yeah! Come in. Emily, right?'
I stepped back to let her into my apartment, mentally scolding myself for not tidying up beforehand. As quickly as I could, I led her to the spare room, where I had everything set up. When I was just starting out, before I knew how in demand this business would be, I ran it out of my bedroom, but that made things... complicated.
She looked around shyly, noticing the relativity empty room, with nothing but two chairs and a kitchen caddy under the window, though the blind was down - I didn't need nosey neighbours getting the wrong idea about this.
I guided her to the chair and sat across from her, resting my elbows on my thighs as I leaned forward. 'So, what's been going on?'
'I...' God, she was shy. This was going to be hard. 'I saw your services online and I thought... well, you helped some other people who are in my predicament, so I thought maybe you could help me. I've had this trouble breathing... kind of like asthma, but it doesn't come up when I'm doing usual exercise. It only happens when I'm, well, you know.' She blushed, rubbing her hands between her thighs and letting her blonde hair fall over her face. 'I don't have a boyfriend or anything, but I find it hard to have casual sex. Because I'm worried I won't be able to breathe, or I'll collapse. My throat closes up and my heart starts racing and I feel like I might be dying, and I don't know what to do. It happens when I start to get close and then, well, then I can't get there, because I'm scared of what will happen when I get over the edge, if I might die.'
I nodded solemnly. 'What you're experiencing is a very common occurrence. Trust me, I see a lot of women in this position.' At this, I gave a soft chuckle. 'What's happening is that your body is reacting to the sexual stimulation as a threat to your survival. It's a mis-wiring of the system.'
'What do we do to fix it?'
'Well, it's complex, and if you're here it means you know my methods are unorthodox. But the most success we've seen is controlled stimulation, sometimes paired with CPR, to take you to climax without killing you. It teaches your body how to react to the climax by giving it a bit of a helping hand. We do this a few times, regular sessions, until your body starts to learn on its own.'
She looked uncomfortably around the room. 'Here?' she asked.
I chuckled. 'Well, I can't exactly get a hospital bed in here. And a real bed would be too soft for CPR, it would have a detrimental effect on its effectiveness. Don't worry - I have pillows for under your hips, which keeps the blood flowing to your heart. I can go get those when you're ready.'
She looked shocked. 'What, now? Are we doing this today?'
'We don't have to,' I said, putting my hands up in defence. 'It's completely up to you. We can call this a complimentary information session.'
She looked around the room again, and then her eyes slowly passed over me. I felt exposed in my uniform - it had been getting tighter since I'd started going back to the gym more regularly, and I could feel the fabric press against the skin of my arms. Slowly, she nodded. 'No, now is as good a time as any. What do you want me to do?'
I cleared my throat. 'Well, step one is to simulate the conditions of the attack. You say it happens when you start to climax? We'll have to get you there, and then we'll start doing whatever methods necessary. First, let's get you hooked up. Could you take off your clothes?'
She lifted her tank top over her head, and I tried not to watch as her breasts bounced back into place as she lowered her arms.
'Pants too, please,' I said quietly. She slipped out of her pants, revealing a lacy pair of underwear that disappeared into a firm ass. Like I said, sometimes I really loved this job.
'Lie down, please,' I instructed, motioning to the ground. Tentatively, I pulled out the EKG machine and started to press the electrodes onto her breasts and abdomen. I could feel the heat of her skin and the lines of her abs beneath my hands. One hand could span nearly the entire length of her torso. I tried not to let my imagination get carried away with that, though I felt myself twitch beneath my pants. I then grabbed the pillow, sliding it beneath her hips.
'This will monitor your heart,' I said. She moaned slightly, and then pressed her lips together, as though it were an accident. She pulled her legs up as if trying to keep them together. I tried to suppress my smile, to keep it professional. 'Is there anything that turns you on, that might help you get to climax?'
Wordlessly, with my hands still on her abdomen from where I had pressed the last wire onto her skin, she lifted herself up onto her elbows, so that our faces were close. I could smell the mint of her breath.
'Is this allowed?' Oh, boy, yes it is allowed. This line of work wouldn't work if this was not allowed. To communicate this point, I pressed my lips to hers, feeling the hot air of her mouth and warmth of her tongue against mine. As soon as they met, the machine started to beep, slowly getting faster. Every time we pulled away, I checked the numbers, just to make sure.
Her hands roamed my body, reaching for the buttons of my uniform, but I grabbed her fingers with one hand, forcing them above her head, watching her body stretch to accommodate the motion. Her breast heaved with desire.
'The uniform is to remember who's the teacher and who's the student,' I whispered into her ear, before moving my lips to her neck. The monitor beeped faster as I sucked on the soft skin of her collarbone, letting my other hand roam of her breast and gently flick her nipples back and forth. I could feel them getting hard under my hands. Her heartbeat was climbing, climbing - I rested my hand on her ribs in an attempt to bring it down just slightly, in case I mistimed the whole thing and killed her. I could still feel her heart beneath the slight pressure of my hand on her upper abdomen.
But she was doing okay, which I occasionally paused to check, searching her eyes for signs of fear. There was nothing but desire, which made me incredibly horny, though that was probably a test of the rules. Oh well, I thought. I'm my own boss.
I moved my lips to her breast, releasing her hand to guide her nipple into my mouth as my other hand continued down to rest on the curve of her pelvis, lightly caressing her centre. God, she was so wet already. Not that the machine wasn't giving away everything, her heartbeat incredibly receptive to my every touch. I was hard as a rock, hoping she couldn't see the tent that strained my pants. Her hands pulled at my hair, at the collar of my uniform, at everything she could get her hands on.
I flicked at her nipple and let my fingers stroke the outside of her underwear in gentle motions. She liked it - the beeps gave her away.
'More,' she whispered, nearly missed in the chaos of the EKG machine and her panting breaths. I moved away from her side to between her legs, guiding her underwear over her thighs and discarding them. I could see her centre, dripping and ready, and even without me touching her, she was grinding her hips against the pillow. Without my hands, her own started to move down to her centre, though she eyed me curiously.
I moved her hand and pinned it up near her head, leaning over her as my own hand took its place, slipping a finger into her warm centre. With one finger inside her, I pressed the heel of my hand to her swollen clit as I fingered her, all while watching her breathe, just to be sure that she still was.
'You're doing so good,' I found myself moaning as I rocked my hand into her. I slipped in a second finger, feeling the push of her pelvis against my hand. She started to moan. We had lift off. I let go of her hand and settled myself with her legs over my shoulder, moving my palm to replace it with my mouth. With soft, gentle kisses at first, and then powerful, stroking licks of her clit. The moaning intensified, and her hips bucked wildly. I pressed my hand into her lower abdomen to keep her still as I licked her clit and curled my fingers in her cunt. She tasted incredible. I could hear her breathing, labouring against her lungs, as they struggled to inhale. She was getting there. Just a bit more...
And then, suddenly, I heard the sound I had been listening out for - the sound of a heart in distress. I pulled away quickly, lifting myself out from between her to first check the machine, and then her. Her heart was beating, but much too fast, and she looked at me with panicked, swirling eyes. Her hands reached for her neck, desperate.
'It's okay,' I said, immediately switching to work mode, the safe version of me. I reached for a stethoscope from the caddy and rested it over her breasts, confirming the EKG machine's diagnosis. This was the attack she feared. 'We're going to get this heartbeat down, okay?'
She shook her head, as if to tell me she didn't believe me.
'Look at me,' I said, reaching for her face. I wrapped my arm around her torso and pulled her up so I could readjust the pillow to underneath her breasts, keeping her airway open. She was light and limp as a doll. 'I'm not going to let anything happen to you. Okay?' She stared into my eyes frantically. I couldn't be sure she heard what I said. Instantly, I pinched her nose and pulled down her lower lip, closing our mouths together to blow hot air into her lungs. I could see her chest rising the slightest amount. When I pulled back, she was still staring at me, her eyes still moving in panic, not taking breaths on her own.
I did it again, sealing my lips over hers and blowing air into her, this time letting my other hand rest on her stomach to feel the rise. I couldn't tell where the air was going - stomach or lungs? I gave her more breaths, aware that the machine was still indicating her heartbeat was insanely irregular, as I applied more pressure to her body with my hand. One breath with a hand pressed to her sternum, and another with a hand pressed into her stomach. As I pressed to her chest, her heart beat wildly against my hand. It was slowing down, ever so slightly. As I gave her one more breath, I felt the rattle of her lungs as she took in my air on her own, and expelled it. Progress.
'Okay, Emily, you're okay. I got you. You're going to be okay. I'm not going to let you die on me.' Thankfully, she was still conscious, but immobile, and fear kept her paralysed. I sat up, surveying the situation and the machine. We weren't ready for defibs - this was a manual task.
'This is the part I said before - we need to give slow chest compressions while we stimulate, to teach the heart the proper way to beat.' I placed one hand on her sternum, though my hand was big enough to nearly cover her entire breast. I then pressed my other hand over her vagina, fingers resting on the opening, palm pressed and applying pressure to the clit. She was still wet and warm, so I slipped two fingers into her vagina - in and out, in and out, as I pressed down on her chest, all while watching her face for signs. At first, I kept my compressions and fingering slow, gentle movements that kept her calm, as her heart reacted on the monitor. I could feel it against my hand, as her nipple stiffened, almost against her will - she was so panicked, and so aroused at the same time. But I was completely in control of whether she made it through this, completely in control of her heart and her body right now, and I had to make sure I kept her safe.
She was still warm and wet for me, though she had stopped grinding her hips against my hand. I counted out 30 compressions and 30 'come hither' motions in her vagina before carefully removing my hand to rest on her stomach. With the other, I pinched her nose, and she opened her mouth, ready for my air. She closed her eyes as I breathed into her lungs, feeling the gentle rise of her stomach under my hand. The EKG machine was quieter now, slightly slower.
After a few more breaths, I looked into her eyes, smoothing back her hair to check that she was okay. Her chest was still heaving desperately, but she looked less panicked, and I knew I had earned her trust. My palm found her chest again, and this time, I straddled her, letting my stiff cock press against her clit as I secured her thighs between mine. Slowly, I pressed against her sternum, one palm over the other, as I calmed her heart to beat against the rhythm I set. She looked up at me, watching me press into her, calming her breathing. I nodded at her.
'You're doing so good,' I said. 'Just keep breathing.'
She breathed between my compressions, her stomach rising against me as she inhaled. I watched the EKG machine as it steadied the rhythm, steading slowly until we came to a pace. With every drop of the machine, I lightened the pressure of my compressions, until I was barely pushing at all, holding my hands pressed to her ribs. Her own hands raised up to meet mine, as if to thank me.
She coughed, and pulled herself up on her elbows. 'That was scary,' she said, in a small voice. Immediately I pulled myself off her, grabbing my steth and coming by her side. I put the ear pieces on and pressed the bell onto her breast, listening to her steady rhythms.
'It was scary for me too,' I admitted. 'I didn't want to lose you.'
She laughed, and coughed as she did. 'Bad for business?'
I couldn't bring myself to laugh along, I was still caught up in the thought of losing this magic that I had only just found.
'Well, I think it was working,' she said. 'I think I probably need more practice, though. Should we say same time next week?'
"Du spielst immer wieder Gott mit deiner Macht!"
Ness was yelling at Kaiser at a volume you've never heard him speak in. You didn't know he was capable of being so loud.
tags: gn!reader x Alexis Ness, reader is around 18 years old and works at Blue Lock, angst, hurt/comfort, Ness my poor baby boy, reader and Ness can be seen as in a platonic or romantic relationship it's your choice, Ness snaps at Kaiser holy fuck, I recommend listening to this song because it inspired this fic
"Du spielst immer wieder Gott mit deiner Macht!" Ness repeated, but you couldn't understand what he was saying because you didn't have your translator earbuds in, so you quickly tried to get them out of your pocket.
Originally, you were walking past Kaiser's room because you had to get to Noa's office to give him something from Ego. But that had to wait.
"It's always Isagi you talk about! Always him!" Now you were able to understand what Ness was saying, or well, he was yelling. Almost screaming. "What about me?!"
But to your surprise, you didn't hear Kaiser yell anything back. He didn't even talk at all. You could picture the scene that was happening inside Kaiser's room in your head: Ness, full of anger, standing in front of Kaiser, while Kaiser looks down at him with a cold gaze. Or a smirk. Both would be possible for him.
The silence that followed was uncomfortable, almost scary. You knew your task was to get to Noa, but staying here right now felt a lot more important. Just in case. After all, you and Ness were quite close. You wanted to be there for him if needed.
"Get the fuck out of my sight." Kaiser broke the silence with a cold voice.
For a second you debated with yourself to leave, but ended up staying.
The door to Kaiser's door opened and Ness exited the room. He looked like a mess, a few tears still running down his cheeks, which he wiped away with his sleeve.
His head was lowered, so he only noticed you when he raised his head a couple seconds after closing the door.
"(Y/N)?" His eyes widened a little. "Oh... You heard that?"
You nodded. "Are you okay? You can talk to me if you want to."
Ness shrugged in response. "No, it's fine." He faked a smile. "I'll return to my room." And before you got to think about an answer, Ness ran away.
You thought about following him, but decided not to. Maybe he just needed a moment for himself. After all, he really looked like a mess. He was probably feeling like one as well.
So you continued your original task and headed to Noa's room.
But the entire time, you couldn't get Ness out of your head. The words he yelled at Kaiser repeating over and over in your head.
"Du spielst immer wieder Gott mit deiner Macht!"
Even though you didn't know what that meant, you remembered the emotions you heard when he yelled those words. You could almost feel them yourself.
Even after returning to your own room, Ness was stuck in your head.
You thought about going to his room to check on him, but the moment you got up from your bed, you heard someone knocking on your door.
"(Y/N)?" It was Ness. "You... You offered me to talk to you, right?"
You opened the door and looked at him. "I did." A small smile across your lips. "Come in."
Both of you sat down on your bed, and at first, silence filled the room. Ness seemed to think about what to say, but after a bit he was able to put his thoughts into words.
He tells you everything he currently feels about Kaiser. The way Kaiser only ever talks about Isagi, the way he keeps ignoring Ness and his feelings over and over and how Ness felt so invalidated and hurt.
This wasn't the first time he vented to you. It's happened a couple times already, but he's never been a mess like this. It's also the first time he's explicitly vented about Kaiser. Before, whenever he vented to you, it was about other things he had on his mind. You never knew he carried these feelings and thoughts within himself.
You don't even know how much time has passed by since Ness entered your room, but all that mattered to you right now was holding him in your arms, slowly running one of your hands through his hair.
"May I ask something?" Your voice was so quiet, it was almost a whisper.
Ness didn't respond verbally, he only nodded.
"What did you say to Kaiser before you mentioned Isagi? I... I didn't have my earbuds in at that time."
Ness took a deep breath before answering: "You mean when I said... 'You keep playing God with your power'?"
