⋆.˚✮ BLUE HAIR
and i guess i’ll just miss her even thought she isn’t even really gone things are just different ever since she cut her blue hair off…
⤷ satoru gojo x reader
⤷ jjk spoilers, set post-hidden inventory (reader and gojo are 3rd yrs), coming-of-age vibes, angsty ending, title n lyrics from tv girl’s “blue hair”
you and gojo got matching blue streaks in your hair the summer of 2007. it was the best summer of your life.
it was maybe three or four in the morning when you got the idea, staring at his near-radioactive blue eyes and snowy white hair.
“you won’t even need bleach,” you’d told him with a mischievous grin.
it didn’t take him two seconds to agree. satoru would have agreed to anything you’d asked of him without question, and you knew that.
your missions had been especially grueling as of late. it seemed that the more time went by, the harder the missions became. the older you got, the more it seemed like the world was going to shit.
growing up sucks. growing up as a jujutsu sorcerer sucks even worse.
that’s what makes you appreciate rare moments like this—blue dye on the white tile, gojo singing off-key, your chipped nail polish against his fair skin where you’re holding his hand. moments where you’re just kids, as you were meant to be.
satoru’s your best friend. you two have never had any secrets. but he and suguru never did tell you exactly what happened last summer, and you’re not sure they ever will.
you try to forget about it all, smiling when you look in the mirror and see your matching blue strands. you snap a picture, both of you smiling so wide your eyes close as the flash fills the bathroom with white light.
you look back at the picture after it all goes down and try to remember the happy students you were before everything went to shit. you try to remember how you felt that night, carefree and rambunctious and wild and infinite.
two months after that picture was taken, geto betrayed jujutsu high. he betrayed you, and gojo and shoko and yaga and utahime and anyone else who ever loved him.
and then gojo went m.i.a. and it felt like you had really lost everything.
the next time you see him, many months later, his blue is gone. yours is faded to almost nothing. and all you have left is that memory of holding blue-stained hands, and the photograph you keep in your wallet of you and your best friend.

Kirsa and Harvey's Bookstore Scavenger Hunt Date
Chapter 35 of The Courage to Fly , "Kiwi's New Boyfriend" is officially posted after a long and unplanned hiatus! Kirsa and Harvey are on the first (technically second) date and doing a scavenger hunt in the bookstore that Kirsa's parents own - The Literature Closet. It was a LOT of words that weren't really necessary for the chapter, but I still wanted to share them somewhere that people might find them. So here you can find their scavenger hunt and their notes about the books they chose.
Bookstore Scavenger Hunt
Rules:
Books can only be used once - no repeats.
If you pass your partner while searching for a book, you must pause to interact with them; exchange a kiss, a hug, talk for a moment, etc.
Make sure to write down the books you chose for each question so you can remember them later.
Purchase at least one book you picked out.
Find a book that is one of your all-time favorites.
Kirsa: The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood – what a fascinating story that feels a little too close to real life sometimes. I loved this book because it is utterly captivating, relatable, and mildly terrifying while also being an excellent read.
Harvey: The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky – while the story can be heavy at times, it’s one of the most relatable books I’ve ever read. Charlie manages to be hilarious and devastating all at once, and the book never fails to hit home.
Find a book that was a favorite when you were a child, or one that holds a special childhood memory.
Kirsa: The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery – this is the first book I remember Dad reading to me. He used to read it to Leo and me all the time as a bedtime story. There’s something about searching for what’s really important in life that always stuck with me.
Harvey: The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams – Dad rarely read books to Heidi and I, but Sybil did, and this was the story she usually picked to read us when we were little. After the accident, I latched onto the idea of being loved even when you aren’t the most appealing.
Find a book featuring a main character with the career you wanted to have when you grew up.
Kirsa: The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton – a book I read in high school on Papa’s recommendation. I think he wanted me to give up the whole doctor thing, but the suspense and high stakes of this story only served to fascinate me more.
Harvey: Catch-22 by Joseph Heller – a pilot in a war novel? That was everything I ever wanted as a kid. Right up until I realized I was terrified of heights.
Find a box set of books in a series you love.
Kirsa: A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin – I actually started reading Game of Thrones when the show came out, but I never got through it because of med school and work. When I joined the military, Papa sent me the set after I said I finally finished the first one during training so I could read the others. I ended up reading the whole series before I hit my first anniversary in the air force. My set is super worn now, because I’ve reread them so many times, so this nice leather-bound set is tempting.
Harvey: The Sherlock Holmes Collection by Arthur Conan Doyle – what can I say? I was always captivated by the mystery, trying to solve it myself as I read. I haven’t seen the entire series together with these vintage style gold-foil embossed covers.
Find your favorite banned book.
Kirsa: Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury – it will never not be funny that they ban a book about the dangers of censorship. I will never stop laughing about it. It’s one of Papa’s favorites, too.
Harvey: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee – I know what you said about picking this one – which is absolutely why I picked it. Because it IS banned in schools a lot of the time, but also because YOU told me we couldn’t choose it for our list.
Find a book you love to reread that is different from your favorite.
Kirsa: Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne – I’ve always LOVED these stories and go back to them a lot, especially lately. I just love reading about Pooh and his friends, even though I know most of these stories by heart.
Harvey: The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien – Landon was the one who got me into this whole series, insisting I read The Hobbit a few months before my car accident. I liked it but hadn’t gotten around to the other books yet. I practically inhaled them when I was recovering, and somehow I dragged Heidi into reading them with me. Which morphed into ALL of our friends plus Sybil reading them around the same time. Fellowship was the first movie Heidi and I were able to go see in theaters after the accident – it was a whole ordeal. I’ve got at least four different sets of the series, but this leather one is incredibly tempting.
Find a book with one of your favorite tropes.
Kirsa: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins – a dystopian setting with a Friends to Lovers trope? This checked ALL the boxes for me and I can never say no to those particular tropes.
Harvey: Eragon by Christopher Paolini – I’ve got a soft spot for The Chosen One stories, especially when they have an epic quest they have to go on in order to save the world.
Find a book that made you cry.
Kirsa: Me Before You by Jojo Moyes – I read this book in a single sitting, flying back from a short-term leave at home. I picked it up in the airport, figuring it would be an easy read after I finished the books I’d brought with me. I did not expect to fall so in love with the characters and be completely devastated. There I was, a high-ranking military officer ugly crying on the plane at like three in the morning, angrily shushing Hayden every time he asked me if I was ok. We got a lot of strange looks.
Harvey: All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr – I was absolutely glued to this book and couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Even though it was emotional, I’ve never regretted reading it.
Find a book you HATED reading in school – or one that you were supposed to read but never did.
Kirsa: The Awakening by Kate Chopin – the ending makes me irrationally angry, every single fucking time. How does one walk ambiguously into the damn sea. God I hate this book. I’m kinda mad Papa even carries it.
Harvey: Animal Farm by George Orwell – I just never read it. I was supposed to, but the week after we started it I had a procedure on my shoulder that turned into a bigger surgery and landed me in the hospital for a little over two weeks. By the time I was back in school, we were about to have a test on it and I still hadn’t actually read it. I just read the Sparknotes and asked Heidi and Will to help me study for our test.
Find a book in your least favorite genre.
Kirsa: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn – thrillers are never my first choice. I’ve got too much anxiety for that. But I wanted to read the book before we watched the movie, and I really shouldn’t have. I was both hooked and horrified.
Harvey: Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley – If you think I’m friends with Landon without having read the most iconic science fiction book ever, I don’t know what to tell you. He insisted Will and I read it. Still a lot too close to horror for my comfort, and honestly I wish I’d never read it.
Find a book ‘everyone’ has read – except you.
Kirsa: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams – my entire squad has read this stupid thing, but I can’t get more than halfway through it. I just get bored. Gavin tries to convince me to start it again like every six months.
Harvey: Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson – I skipped it as a kid because it was a little too close to home with what Heidi and I went through. I’ve heard it’s a great book, but I never wanted to read it.
Find a book with one of your favorite love stories.
Kirsa: The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks – is there any more iconic love story? It makes me believe in that kind of everlasting love even when shit’s hitting the fan.
Harvey: The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – one of those painfully real love stories that rips your heart out and stomps on it. But it’s so very relatable.
Find a book with a color in its title.
Kirsa: The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne – come on, you can never go wrong with the iconic red A. It’s a classic.
Harvey: Black Beauty by Anna Sewell – who doesn’t love a story with an animal protagonist? Besides, this horse is living his best life despite countless hardships.
Find a book whose movie or TV adaptation was actually good.
Kirsa: The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot – I fucking love this book and the whole series, but the movie makes the whole story a lot more cohesive. And the whole scene with Mia’s gym teacher where she’s like “I can’t do this, I’m a girl.” And the teacher is all “What am I? A duck?” is just perfection.
Harvey: Holes by Louis Sachar – Shia LaBeouf made the perfect Stanley Yelnats, Sigourney Weaver as a villain was iconic, and “I’m tired of this Grandpa...” “Well, that’s too damn bad!” is a scene that will never stop being funny.
Find a book BASED on a TV series, movie, or video game.
Kirsa: The Stolen Throne by David Gaider – I only started this book because Hayden wouldn’t shut up about it and he was pissy because I laughed at him for sobbing his eyes out at three in the morning when he finished it. Of course, I got completely enraptured by the story and read the entire thing in less than five hours, also ugly crying. Hayden got mad because I stole the next book from his pack while he was still in the middle of reading it.
Harvey: The Rise of Kyoshi by F.C. Yee – I picked it up when it came out but haven’t read it yet. After loving The Last Airbender so much, I figured this would be a good read. Plus, Kyoshi seems like an avatar who would have an interesting story to follow.
Find a book with multiple points of view.
Kirsa: As I Lay Dying by William Faulkner – I think I was the only person in my class who actually liked this book. The whole thing being told by various narrators in a messy and confusing timeline made it all the more interesting to me, trying to piece the story together as I went.
Harvey: Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte – we never read this is school like most people, and I finally got around to it last year. I honestly loved the whole love story recounted from multiple perspectives. I didn’t think I’d like the book as much as I did.
Find a book with a one-word title.
Kirsa: Matilda by Roald Dahl – a classic, and one about a nerdy girl trying to navigate a complicated life. I related.
Harvey: Dracula by Bram Stoker – don’t ask me why I read another horror book by choice because I don’t know. But it’s one of the great masterpieces of the genre, and for good reason. It took me ages to get through it, but I’m glad I eventually did.
Find a graphic novel that interests you.
Kirsa: Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe – I kinda forgot this was being printed now and I NEED these books. I’ve been reading the webcomic for years. I’ve gotta ask Papa to put me on the preorder list for the releases of the hardbacks.
Harvey: The Sandman by Neil Gaiman – I keep telling Landon I’ll read this series, but I keep not actually buying the book. He insists I’ll enjoy it, and I’m sure he’s right, I just keep finding other things to read.
Find a book recommended by one of the booksellers.
Kirsa: A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas – you don’t understand how hard this was for me. Papa and the rest of the staff know my book preferences like the backs of their hands. They sent my whole squad care packages once a month with new books to read based on what we liked and didn’t like. But Madeline told me this is a good enemies to lovers story that’s basically a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, so we’re gonna give it a shot. It’s up my alley.
Harvey: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss – I'll be honest, I don't remember who I talked to about this, but they asked me what stories I liked most and instantly pulled this book off a shelf and handed it to me saying ‘trust me’ and after reading the back of it? A story about a fantasy hero but a Chosen One narrative that’s flipped on its head a bit? Seems like a book I’ll enjoy.
Find a book you think your partner might like.
Kirsa: Airframe by Michael Crichton – I figured a thriller set on a plane would be up your alley. Harvey: HA. It IS up my alley, but I’ve already read it and it so did not help my fear of heights. I now have a lifetime of extra white-knuckled anxiety thanks to that book.
Harvey: The Night and its Moon by Piper C.J. – based on what I’ve seen you read, the summary on the back sounded like it would interest you – lovers who will do anything to reunite? That’s all you. Of course, I opened the book and meant to read the first few pages, but snorted as I read the dedication and figured you’d appreciate the book for that alone if nothing else. Kirsa: Oh this sounds delightful. I need to read this. But also oh my God that dedication.
Find books that have titles beginning with one of your partner’s initials (3 books).
Kirsa: Heidi by Johanna Spyri – Harvey: Funny. You’re funny. Kirsa: Oh come on, it was right there. I couldn’t help myself. Walden by Henry David Thoreau. Lord of the Flies by William Golding.
Harvey: Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen – Kirsa: I fucking love this book. Harvey: I remembered you telling me she was one of your favorite authors, I thought it was fitting. Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. The Martian by Andy Weir.
Find a book with a title that describes how you feel about your partner (funny, serious, silly, etc.).
Kirsa: The Prince and the Pauper by Mark Twain – after you telling me about your childhood and knowing you lived on microwave meals for years before I moved to the farm? It’s perfect for you.
Harvey: Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein – when the world ends, where do you go? You went to the farm and found a new path. It seemed fitting.
Find a non-fiction book about something that you’d like to learn more about or something that you’d like to learn how to do.
Kirsa: National Geographic: Birds of The Ferngill Republic – I keep seeing all kinds of different birds around the farm and it’d be neat to be able to identify some of them.
Harvey: Astrophysics for People in a Hurry by Neil deGrasse Tyson – I know a decent bit about space thanks to spending so much time listening to Maru go on about it. But talking to you about the meteor shower a few weeks ago made me curious. And it'd be nice to talk about it in more detail with you.
Find something to do together on a future date.
Kirsa: Incredible Paper Airplanes – Dad dragged me to see this kit when he finally found me in the store earlier. It’s cheesy as hell, but it actually looks kinda fun. There’s a ton of different models to make and all kinds of origami paper.
Harvey: Galaxy Watercolor – Paint the Universe – I was stuck on this question for a while and Hannah found me trying to find something you’d like. She suggested this but didn’t give me much of an explanation, so if you hate the idea – No! I love it! It looks fantastic.
Find a recipe to make together (a drink, a meal, a dessert, etc.).
Kirsa: Melon Salad – I’ve got like six varieties of melon seeds to plant this year and this recipe is just a bunch of melons in a fruit salad. I thought it sounded fun.
Harvey: Cookie Pig – I couldn’t resist the sugar cookies decorated like pigs. They look like the ones Harry had.

5 books and 5 fics
@waxwing-saint made me do it
I always have a hard time making lists, especially lists of favorites because there are far too many to remember, and I had to set a rule for myself to narrow it down. Pick things that stayed with me. That’s it. So, these are the ones that made me think or feel or put me in a weeklong introspective funk.
Books
Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield. My most recently finished read. Both @sosh022 and @waxwing-saint recommended this to me and it’s been years since any book has hit me as hard as this one did. The love, the frustration, the inevitability, every page felt so real. Some days I managed a whopping 30 pages but most days it was 2-8. The words were just too good to let them fly by without holding onto them for a little while.
Just Kids by Patti Smith. I’ve been a fan of her music since I was a kid so when I picked up this memoir I was only familiar with that and her poetry. It’s a story of her youth and friendship with artist Robert Mapplethorpe, and her writing is so compelling that her reminiscences filled my head and heart as only a poet could. Highly recommend even if you don’t know her music.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. I bought this the year it was published and I would read it at least once a year for years afterwards. When the movie came out, I couldn’t see it, and I still haven’t seen it, even though I think this year might finally be when I do. The story is just too close to me.
There There by Tommy Orange. Stories about clashing identities, of being a part of two worlds and also neither, are always very interesting to me. And this one was just so visceral in its anger and sadness, it swallowed me up.
Nightshift by Kiare Ladner. Ok I’m cheating a bit here since I haven’t finished it yet, and I don’t normally recommend books I haven’t finished, but this book makes me squirm and I need others to squirm with me. Have you ever met someone and became instantly obsessed with being their friend (and maybe more) and when you did, you got caught up with that feeling that you’re finally being true to yourself but maybe also molding yourself into someone you’re not? That’s this book. And it’s a drama so the discomfort and stakes feel higher. I have no idea how it’s going to end, but I’m probably going to do more squirming and cringing in self-recognition along the way.
Fics
i’ll take the desert, you take the coast by @searidings. Supercorp. I absolutely adore this fic, I love all of searidings’ fics, but this one blew me away when it was first posted and it still does. I love a Lena that holds a post-reveal grudge. I love that she holds onto it for so long. It’s beautiful and sad and angry and I reread it every few months.
Vertigo by Yoshiyuki_Ly. Fleurmione. This fic inspires strong feelings in people, and given the ending, I can understand why. Fleur is a Slytherin and she’s got major childhood trauma and her characterization is colder and harder than we’ve ever seen her. But the hesitant romance that builds with Hermione is so sweet and real, it’s one of my favorites. There’s also a sequel on ffn if you’re interested.
Falling Towards Something (It Might Just Be You) by @thewaywedo33. Fleurmione. Another take on a darker/grey Fleur. A bit angsty, character driven, and you’ll have so many questions about what’s going on in the wider world, but all that really matters is that this Fleur can’t stay away from Hermione even though they’re not really on the same side, and I love their gradual acceptance of it, until it all comes to a head and choices have to be made.
Personal Jesus by @perfectly--random. Fleurmione. A non-magical AU that hits you in the gut and I won’t say anymore because it’s just that good. Wonderful angst.
The Arctic Station by @foragewrites. Supercorp. One of my favorite Supercorp premises is post-reveal angst and eventual reconciliation, and this fic does it so well, all couched in a stranded/survival story. It’s amazing.
~~~
Because I limited myself to completed fics, I left out some really great ones. Danse Avec la Vie (fleurmione) by Sosh_022/@sosh022, Once In A Lifetime (Sansaery) by MsCFH/ @hell-much and We court our own Captivity / than Thrones more great and innocent; (Sansaery) by heart_nouveau. Danse and Once In A Lifetime are in progress so my list will probably change when they finish.
Whew that was tough. If you’re reading this, go on and give it a try. One person I’ll call out is @sleepingontheway. 😊
I agree with everything that has been said on this post, except for the fact that The Poppy War here is seen as YA, since I’ve read it and wouldn’t really define it that way.
[kind of spoilers ahead]
I’ll say right now that I pick books quite blindly, just basing on the summer or title usually, so most times I don’t realise whether the book I’m reading is YA or not, so I could be wrong here. The Poppy War does indeed include many ‘triggering’ themes to some people, like genocide, rape, ‘human’ experimenting, war, murders, torture and maybe I could add body horror too, but in my opinion - which again, is not one coming from an expert - it is not YA. It is extremely sad at times, but other times are fun, and others bring the reader [or at least, me] to think. A very easy example is : who is the ‘villain’ in the story? In most books I’ve seen being labelled as YA it’s pretty obvious who the villain is, but in this case every character is developed so well that I really have no clue. Is it the Mugenese? Su Daji? Hesperians? Surely the Hesperians did horrifying things, but on the other side, the main character literally did kill millions of people, so who of the 2 is the less morally bad one? It can at times be read as a YA book [especially the first third or so of the first book, where apart from maybe child abuse nothing happens], but then the descent of the main character into madness starts, and personally I don’t think someone too young would really understand what’s actually happening since about half of the second book. I myself would honestly not recommend it, as said in the original post, to someone who’s trying to get into adult SFF because of how many trigger warnings there are, but not only. I wouldn’t recommend it because of the complexity too, because it’s a book which is fantasy, but is actually related to thongs that really happened, and, since the author is R.F.Kuang, one of those things is colonisation, which I’ve never being treated in as much detail as they are in both TPW and Babel [another book by Rebecca]. And another things is that here there was no real coming of age - not because the story ends when the main character is 21 and therefore not entirely grown up yet, or because the mc doesn’t change [I would not say the Rin at the start and at the end are the same person at all], but because any change was caused by terrible things happening, and there wasn’t anything similar to what can be noticed in books like Perks of Being a Wallflower or other famous coming-of-age stories
In short : I’m the sort of reader who doesn’t really distinguish between YA and adult books, but I think that TPW fits into the adult-TPW category not only because of how bloody, gorey and grim things got at some point of the trilogy, but because some of the main topics and fundamental parts of the plot, in my opinion, wouldn’t really be fully understood or seen as interesting by someone used to reading easier kinds of books.
My take on "why there are many adults that only read YA novels" is pretty simple
The YA book explosion of the mid 2000's-mid 2010's was mostly scifi and fantasy genre, and trying to "get into" adult SFF is a punishment from hell
#I didn’t mean to write this much but once I read TPW I had to add what I thought because I’ve read it around 6 months ago and am still not#over it. I know the mc is young and that all but honestly at some point in the trilogy she just becomes so batshit insane that you don’t#remember how young she actually is until the very end
can i pls request Lucas x male reader where Lucas is the popular kid and reader is really quiet, but lucas likes reader because of readers personality(not like other guys/girls who tries their best to let them get noticed by lucas) and Lucas always tease and talk to reader because of that. maybe add a scenario where reader gets bullied on why he's dating Lucas and Lucas comes in and comforts reader. Thats all thank you!💖
up to you ; lucas
group: nct / wayv
pairing: wong yukhei / reader (male)
synopsis: yukhei is your school’s most popular heartthrob, and you’re the quiet wallflower. can things be any more obvious?
genre: fluff
warning: bullying
i hope this satisfies you anon! personally i lost inspo so it’s not that good... i apologize :,) also i just realized how long my fics are, so oops? as always, feedback is greatly appreciated! <3
you’re in the library shelving piles of books into their respective slots, gently humming to yourself as you drum your fingers on the spine of a book. the library is silent for the most part, save for the low buzz of the fan by the entryway and your soft humming. it’s quiet and cozy, just how you like it.
the quiet ambience is slightly ruined by the loud rattling from the left. it startles you, but luckily you remain your balance and don’t plummet to your demise. when you look towards the source of the noise, you see yukhei standing by the bottom of the ladder, flashing you his signature rectangular grin. “hi (name)!” he chirps, waving at you. a warmth blossoms within you, but the chorus of agitated shushes distracts you. he cowers within himself, sending other students an apologetic look. “sorry,” he whispers.
“i didn’t expect to see you here,” you reply, turning your attention back to the books in your arms. there’s no malicious intent behind your words, because you genuinely would’ve thought he would spend his free period playing basketball with his friends, not in the library.
but he gasps with loud, feigned hurt. “i’m offended! just because i prefer sports over school doesn’t mean i won’t come in and pick up a book every now and then!” another round of shushes ripples throughout the room, though this time they’re paired with irritated glares. you’re among one of them.
“please be quiet, we’re in a library,” you remind him, stepping down a few rungs. he sends you an apologetic look, one that reminds you of a kicked puppy. “if you’re looking to borrow textbooks, the librarian’s up front. if not, you’re welcome to browse through.”
“nah, i already got all of my textbooks. i just came in to see you~” he winks, which you respond with by rolling your eyes. you promptly ignore the butterflies in your stomach. “oh come on, don’t be so mean. why don’t you ever react?”
“why should i? all you ever do is tease me,” you deadpan. you finish categorizing the last book and begin climbing down the ladder to grab a new pile. yukhei seems to notice this, eagerly scooping up a pile to hand to you. it doesn’t quite work out though, because his massive hands accidentally push them to the floor, and he winces, knowing what to expect. along with other disturbed patrons, you glare at him. you bend down to pick up the books, sighing. “you know, you’re lucky i haven’t kicked you out yet.”
“sorry,” he apologizes, sending you a sheepish smile. “sometimes i have no control over this massively tall body. i guess being short like you would be better, huh?”
for your age, you stand at a relatively average height. but yukhei is a little taller than most, standing at six feet. it really isn’t that big of a difference, but he still teases you for it all of the time.
you’re about to retort when you see two figures lurking by the other side of the shelf. you sigh, already knowing what to expect. something like this happens nearly every two days. “two of your so-called fans at nine o’clock.”
yukhei turns to face that direction and the two figures jump in surprise, confirming your suspicions. you see two girls step out from behind the shelf, timidly staring at you two. you recognize one of them, yujin, from your history class. “hi lucas,” the girl greets. it’s the nickname he goes by, the one that everyone is familiar with. you’re one of the few people that uses his real name, though.
you don’t even blink at the lack of acknowledgement. you’ve never really talked to yujin, save for the time she shared her notes with you. a real life saver. “oh hey yujin! is there something you need?” he asks. she looks pleasantly surprised that he remembers her.
you see the girl beside yujin, probably her wing woman, ushering her to hand him what appears to be a letter. not wanting to disturb the love confession that’s to come, you quietly grab the cart of books and roll it away from them. no one seems to notice though; the perks of being a wallflower.
five minutes later, you’re standing behind the counter of the check-out area, helping a few students check out textbooks. “is that everything you need?” you ask, not looking up from the computer screen.
“no, but i’d love to check you out.” you turn your head at the familiar voice and snort upon seeing yukhei.
“that was bad, even for you.”
“the only way you’d notice me,” he shrugs. you notice that he isn’t holding anything in his hands, and from the corner of your eyes you can see yujin and her friend walking towards the exit. judging from the way her friend rubs her shoulders, you can only guess that she’s been rejected like the others.
“you turned her down?” you ask.
yukhei sighs. for someone who receives several confessions, he never looks less guilty when rejecting them. “yujin is really sweet and smart, but i’m only interested in her as a friend. plus, between you and me?” he leans in as if telling you a secret. “i’m pretty sure her friend somi has a thing for her.”
you shake your head in sympathy. poor girl, having to be a wing woman for the girl you like. “well, that sucks.”
he frowns at your curt response, resting his arms on the counter. “you know, we haven’t been friends for very long, yet you never question why i reject everyone.”
you shrug, walking towards the storage room. “you’re just waiting for the right person, because contrary to popular belief, wong yukhei isn’t a heart breaker.”
yukhei can only forlornly watch as you head to the back. “i’ve found the right person, they just haven’t noticed yet,” he mutters.
if you’re being honest, you don’t quite remember how yukhei entered your life. after all, he’s way ahead in the social spectrum, surrounded by swarms of friends like some enforcer of happiness. on the other hand, you’re on the complete opposite side of that spectrum. you’re the quiet guy who minds your own business, so you don’t have many friends like he does, save for the few close ones you’ve made prior to high school. but one day, like the friendly giant he is, he magically appears by your side, and now his presence fills each of your days.
save for the times he teases you about your height and your personality, yukhei isn’t as bad as kids like you describe. sure, he’s loud and outspoken, every introvert’s nightmare, but he isn’t a jerk or a heart breaker like they whisper about. he’s quite the opposite, actually, his personality similar to a golden retriever. the way others perceive him never gets less funny for you. you’ve personally seen him get his nose stuck in a coat hanger before; how in the world does a klutz like him scream heart breaker material?
you’ve only known him for half a year, yet you feel like you’ve known him since childhood. he’s never quiet about his life, and he always seems genuinely interested in you. naturally, like the fool you are, you found yourself inevitably falling for him. it’s not like things will go your way - yukhei is at the center of the school’s attention, meaning he’s surrounded by plenty of suitors. it’s so cliche you’d laugh - the quiet guy pining over the school’s heart throb - but truthfully, you’d rather watch him excitedly talk about his interests or do anything that elicits a smile from him. you’ll have plenty of time to laugh later, anyways.
when you enter the cafeteria, you scan the cliques assembled at each table, looking for your own little group made up of you, mark, renjun, and donghyuck. it’s a mix of different personalities with even more different interests, but sharing the cast roles of trees in the third grade goes a long way.
your sight is quickly obscured by two massive hands, and you sigh, recognizing the cold feeling of a ring against your face. “guess who?” a voice above you sings.
“what are you doing here?” you ask. you quickly regain your sight as the hands slink away, and you turn around to face a smiling yukhei.
“here to grab food just like everyone else,” he answers, ruffling your hair. he laughs when he sees you try to remove his hand from your hair, yours impossibly small compared to his. “is this bothering you, tiny terror?” he teases.
“seriously?”
“sorry, did you say something? you’re a little too quiet.”
to a bystander, it would look like yukhei, the tall, popular kid, was bullying you, the average quiet wallflower. but your friendship all began with this “teasing”, so you don’t really mind anymore.
before you can say anything, you hear a crowd of guys headed your way. you take that as your cue to leave, removing his hand from your hair. luckily, you finally see your friends at a table at the other side of the room. “i’m going to go now. bye,” you say. before you get a response, you slink away from him.
as you slide in a seat beside mark, you catch renjun and donghyuck eyeing you with interest. you’ve known them long enough to know that look means trouble - specifically from renjun and donghyuck. mark is never a part of their schemes, wanting nothing more than a peaceful day. “can i help you?” you ask, leaning down to steal a fry from mark, who shrieks in protest.
"so, you and yukhei?” renjun gives you a knowing look, while mark gives you an apologetic one. you feel like you’ve just jumped straight into a trap.
“we’re friends. what about it?” you ask, taking more of mark’s food. at this point, he’s given up on fending it from your hands.
“he’s in denial,” donghyuck whispers, though you hear it loud and clear. “dude, he gives you heart eyes when you do so much as breathe. how does it feel, having a heart throb like him wrapped around your finger?”
the thought is baffling; you, having yukhei wrapped around your finger? “no comment because i don’t.” renjun and donghyuck boo at your comment. “enough with that nonsense already. we’re just friends. plus, i’m not going to swoon over him-”
“-like everyone else in the building?” mark finishes, pointing his head forward. you look up, and unsurprisingly, a swarm of people surround yukhei, and he’s eagerly chatting with them, probably thriving from the attention. you swear you see a glimpse of yet another letter from a guy you recognize from your biology class, but with so many people it’s hard to tell.
“you know, i don’t understand how people perceive him as a heart breaker. he’s like a clumsy puppy with too much energy for his own good,” you comment, munching on a fry.
“maybe because you’re one of the few people who actually know him well enough to determine that?” mark suggests. “he gets along with everyone, but he tails you like a puppy all of the time. it’s no wonder you know him well.”
you shrug. “maybe if he teased other people all the time, they’d probably get to know him better, too. apparently that’s how people befriend others these days.”
they all exchange a knowing look before staring at you. “riiight. because he teases everyone he wants to befriend. not because, you know, he’s interested in them,” renjun remarks.
you stare at yukhei for a little longer until he looks up and sees you. he frantically waves with a large grin, and you can’t help the small smile that forms on your lips as you wave back. when your hand falls and you go back to eating mark’s food, you shrug. “right.”
something you find odd about your schedule is how you have pe right after lunch. do teachers seriously think it’s a good idea to have students running laps right after eating? that only calls for disaster. it’s something you complain about every now and then to donghyuck, seeing how he’s the only person you can talk to.
“i heard we’re doing the mile run today,” donghyuck shares.
you groan, walking beside him. “i don’t care how many times we do it. i will never not complain about it. what makes him think running’s fun?”
“i don’t know, i think running’s pretty great,” a voice chimes. you don’t need to turn around to guess who it is, but you do anyways. unsurprisingly, yukhei’s right beside you, grinning his signature smile.
“easy for you to say. you’re built like a greek god and you have abnormally long legs. you’re like... a spider.”
yukhei chooses to ignore your comparison about the spider, instead beaming. “you think i’m built like a greek god?”
what a way to feed into his ego. “i take it back.”
he visibly deflates, pouting. “what! you can’t take it back, (name)! don’t hurt me like that!”
you’re about to retort back when donghyuck taps your shoulder. “lucas, (name), hi. i’d hate to bother your flirting session, so i’m going to bother yangyang now.”
“we’re not-” the words are barely out of your mouth before he slinks away from you two, but not before throwing up finger guns at you. you’re left alone with yukhei, who shoots you a cheeky wink.
the five minutes it takes for you to walk to the track field quickly goes by, having spent it conversing with yukhei. your teacher tasks everyone to partner up for the mile run, and your instincts are telling you to go to donghyuck, who’s been your partner each time. but then you see him approach yangyang with an intention in his eyes and you decide to go against it. the only other friend you have in this class would be...
you turn around to look for yukhei, but he’s no longer by your side, instead being encompassed by several guys. he doesn’t quite meet their gaze though, eyes flickering to you. he’s obviously occupied. to your dismay, there are no other options left, and you’d rather die than talk to other people.
someone taps your shoulder and you jump so high that even the perpetrator seems startled. you fearfully stiffen, contemplating the dozen methods of running away, but when you turn around, you visibly relax. it’s hendery, one of your classmates. you don’t know him too well, but you share most of your classes together. “hey (name), you still looking for a partner?” he asks.
“yeah, i am. are you?" of course he’s looking for a partner. why else would he approach you? great. now he’s going to think you’re weird, and then you’re not going to have a-
“perfect, so am i! do you want to run first, or should i?” he flashes you a smile that eases your nerves, and the butterflies in your stomach still.
“i don’t have a preference.”
“okay, then i’ll go first. be sure to keep a good eye on me, okay?” he sends you a flirty wink, and you’re taken aback by the sudden motion, lightly blushing. he seems to notice this, too, grinning at your silence. “i’ve been told i’m a good runner. i hope i impress you~”
your mind is running faster than your body could ever, still trying to process hendery’s boldness. “oh. well, i bet you’re far better than me. i’m not a good runner,” you awkwardly laugh.
it’s only been a few minutes, but you find yourself pleasantly surprised to become acquainted with hendery, though it’s mainly hendery doing the talking since you’re not quite out of your shell yet. in the five minutes you’ve known him, you learn that he’s the captain of the track team and strangely enough, really likes hot dogs. you go through the five stages of regret upon learning this, because your running won’t even begin to compare to his. but he gently assures you it isn’t a big deal, even patting your shoulder.
you decide that hendery’s ability to put people at ease is incredible, because you’re too absorbed with his presence to notice the look yukhei sends from afar.
after that, you and hendery quickly befriended each other. your relationship kind of reminds you of your’s with yukhei because of how different you are, but unlike him, he doesn’t tease you all of the time. you’re not sure how to feel when you find yourself missing it.
on the bright side, he’s a great friend to hang out with when others are busy. renjun and donghyuck have volleyball practice? you go to the arcade with hendery. mark has speech and debate? you get tacos with hendery. yukhei is busy... being the social butterfly he is? you go over to hendery’s house. your increase in hangouts has definitely made your friends suspicious, with donghyuck going as far as accusing you of cheating on yukhei, whatever that means. it’s not like you two are dating, anyways.
(the thought reminds you just how impossible the concept is, and you would be lying if you said you weren’t bothered by it.)
your third period is when you act as mrs. choi’s library assistant. you’re sitting by the counter, flipping through the latest issue of haikyu!! when you hear footsteps approach you. having to act like the responsible assistant, you quickly tuck the book away, but not fast enough judging from hendery’s smirk. “so mr. studious isn’t quite so studious, is he?” he asks.
“i don’t know what you’re talking about,” you shrug. “anyways, what are you doing here? do you have a free period like-” you quickly stop in your tracks. the name stands at the tip of your tongue, but for some reason, a part of you tells you not to say it.
thankfully he doesn’t question your abrupt pause. “no, i have math. pauses for boos,” he sighs. “anyways, can you check this out for me?” he slides a thick textbook your direction.
“sure. student id?” you go through the procedure of checking out his book, which doesn’t take long. “okay, you’re good to go.”
he doesn’t immediately leave though, eyes never leaving your frame. “(name)?”
you pull out your book, flipping back to the page you were on. “yeah?” there’s a pause, which is unlike hendery. from what you know, he’s confident and doesn’t take breaks, which makes you look up from your book. he looks almost... nervous? “are you okay?”
he pauses to take a deep breath, and you’re suddenly embracing for something serious. “would you go on a d-”
“hey (name), hendery! what a coincidence seeing you here!”
you look behind hendery and is surprised to see yukhei approach you with a strained smile. you’ve been hanging out with hendery so much that you haven’t seen yukhei in a while, aside from your shared classes.
at this point, the other patrons in the library have already gotten used to his loud voice, and seeing how you never once kicked him out, they stopped shushing him altogether. “it isn’t a coincidence, yukhei. you know i’m here during third period.” you squint at his appearance. he looks stiff, sweaty even. “are you okay?”
hendery looks like he knows something you don’t, glaring at yukhei. “we’re in a library, or have you forgotten?” there’s an obvious bite in his words, one that shocks you. you had no idea they didn’t like each other, but seeing their mutual glares, it’s kind of obvious now.
“sorry, i had to get my point across,” yukhei responds. he turns to face you, and his smile quickly fades into one of genuine. “hey (name), can i talk to you about something?” he turns to give hendery the stink eye. “in private?”
“he can’t abandon his responsibility as mrs. choi’s assistant, much less for you,” hendery snaps.
okay, you’re really missing something big here. in an attempt to clear the tense atmosphere, you clear your throat. “can it wait...” you glance at the clock. “five minutes? mrs. choi should be back then.”
yukhei nods, giving hendery a triumphant smirk. “of course.”
five minutes later, mrs. choi comes back, allowing you to slink into the empty hallway with yukhei. “before you tell me what you need to tell me- what the hell was that?”
he gives you an oblivious look. “what was what?”
“the tension between you and hendery!” you exclaim. “you two looked like you were going to shoot each other had i not been there.”
he looks genuinely surprised that you noticed. what does he take you for, a dunce? “oh, that? we’ve never really gotten along... but recently, we found out we both like the same person, so that kind of worsened things.”
you nod, though the thought of yukhei finding his right person surprises you, and a small part feels a little disappointed. rightfully so, because not only is it not you, but because he didn’t bother telling you! “you finally found the right person for you?”
“for a while now, actually,” he corrects. now you’re even more surprised; yukhei found someone he liked and hadn’t once told you? the betrayal! “i just haven’t been able to tell them.”
“well, who is it?” you sigh, shaking your head. “you had all of these chances to tell me, and you didnt even try? i’m disappointed.” technically he would be saving you from heartbreak by not telling you, but that’s beside the point.
“well, that would ruin the surprise then. i was planning on confessing,” he explains, giving you a cheeky smile.
this is fine, this is fine... except it’s not, you mentally narrate. you’re already flashing him a strained smile. “when?” you ask.
yukhei’s smile never once fades, and you’re tempted to wipe it off his face. “right now.” he sweeps his arm in a flourish. “i like you, (name) (last name).”
a pause. you’re frozen in your spot, replaying his words in your head.
i like you, (name) (last name).
this must be some sort of fever dream. or an elaborate prank; you frantically look around for someone to jump out in front of you, camera in hand. but to your shock, you’re still wearing clothes, and no one jumps out. “did i hear that right?” you gawk.
yukhei’s still grinning; your shocked look seems to satisfy him. “i like you. you’re the person i was talking about.”
you’ve been duped - bamboozled! “am i dreaming?”
he laughs, ruffling your hair. “this is very much real, cutie. do you want me to kiss you to prove it?” you visibly flush, hiding your face behind your hands. he’s always teased you, but this it the first time he’s really flirted like this. has he been holding back on your account? he peels your hands off your face, cooing at how red you are. “may i ask for your answer?”
your face is still warm, eyes refusing to meet his. he’s holding your hands, and it feels like he’s holding your heart in them, too. “why?” you’re not asking this because of your insecurities, but because you’re genuinely curious. if he’s shown signs that he likes you, he’s done a great job at making it subtle.
(yukhei’s definitely not subtle though, which means you probably didn’t notice because you’re just that dense.)
“i like your personality,” he begins. “you’re a breath of fresh air among the familiar, the quiet in my loud. i think we fit really well. plus, teasing you is a bonus, seeing you get all bothered.” he caresses your hands, and you’re suddenly keenly aware of where you two are. “you know, i would’ve made things more extravagant, but hendery was going to sweep you off your feet, so i had to make things quick.”
wait, hendery likes you too? then at the library... this feels like a wattpad fanfic. but instead of pondering on that, you roll your eyes. “even if he said anything, i wouldn’t have accepted.”
his face contorts to one of surprise, but it takes him a few seconds to understand the implications behind your comment. “does that mean you like me, too?” he hums, eyes twinkling in delight.
you hate feeding into his ego, but you decide right now is an exception. “maybe.”
you immediately regret it though, seeing him grin like the cheshire cat. you’re never going to hear the end of it now. “i even managed to woo you with my charms, huh?”
“shut up.”
“with your lips? because i’d love that.” he leans down, batting his eyelashes, and you’re heating up all over again. at first, you take it as another one of his flirty remarks, but the look he gives you is a silent question of consent. it reminds you of how no matter how much he teases you, he would never do anything to make you uncomfortable, never do anything without permission.
there are several thoughts swirling in your head and many things you need to discuss with yukhei. how will the general public react learning about this? will you be harassed by his hoard of fans? will things even work? but instead, you grab his hand and begin walking to a secluded part of the wing. ignoring the what-if’s is very unlike you, but you have more important matters to tend to. “we have to talk about this later.”
yukhei can only hum in agreement as your breath fans over his lips.
as mentioned earlier, yukhei isn’t subtle at all, so it’s no surprise that soon the whole school finds out about your relationship. you can’t be mad at him though, because he really did try. but then he accidentally let it slip during basketball practice, bragging about how you were an amazing kisser. you can’t really be mad at his comment, anyways.
to your dismay, your popularity has soared being yukhei’s boyfriend. you much prefer the times when people had to ask for your name again, because now they all label you as lucas’s boyfriend. like, you have a name. plus, high school students are incredibly nosy. but people are nice, for the most part.
needless to say, your friends had a field day with you upon hearing the news. apparently renjun and donghyuck had made bets on you, to which the former had triumphed. mark simply congratulated you as he struggled to stop the two from fighting each other.
to your surprise, hendery had approached you and congratulated you two on the manner. he ruffled your hair and told you that he’s always available if you ever choose to drop yukhei, to which the latter responded by lunging at him. you didn’t have time to question hendery about the events in the library from the past week, having to stop your boyfriend from fighting him.
your days at school have certainly become livelier. for starters, yukhei has become much more open about expressing affection, though the displays in public are nothing compared to in private. his friends were also quick to introduce themselves to you, even going as far as stealing you from him. you’re pretty sure you’ve become an honorary member of the basketball team now. things have seemed to calm down now, though your friends still tease your relationship every now and then. you try to go by your day with minimal interaction as usual, save for yukhei and your friends.
today was supposed to be your free day, but mrs. choi had called you asking if you could finish up things in the library, having to leave early for a doctor’s appointment. like the kind assistant you were, you had accepted with no hesitation, finishing up her tasks. however, you did feel like you were forgetting something important.
you’ve just finished shelving the final textbook when you hear footsteps approach you. you turn your head, expecting to see the janitor, but you’re startled to come face-to-face with a guy. judging from the threatening look on his face, you can tell you’re in for an unpleasant conversation. and if that’s the case, it’s probably because of yukhei.
with his popularity and your relationship, it isn’t surprising that there were a few that weren’t too happy to see you together. he isn’t some object that wannabe teenagers have ownership over. however, many are yet to grasp that concept. “how can i help you?” you politely ask.
you barely have any time to blink before you’re being pushed against the bookshelf, trapped in between his arms. this feels like a showdown between the love interest and the wannabe, the latter fighting for the affections of the male lead. “listen up, (last name),” the guy snarls. “you better stay away from lucas. you don’t deserve him.”
under normal circumstances, you would be terrified. but apparently you have a death wish, saying, “and you do?”
you close your eyes, bracing for a fist to your face, but surprisingly, it never comes. you squeak an eye open to see him looking down at you with a smirk. “whatever he sees in you, it won’t be there long. did he ever tell you how much he hates boring people?”
usually jerks like him don’t bother you, but... boring? you may be quiet, but you don’t think you’re that boring... right? the stranger releases his hold on you. before he can say any more, the library doors swing open, and like some knight in shining armor, there stands yukhei who looks out of breath. “(name)? hyunjung?”
you two are lucky he didn’t see your position earlier, otherwise it would beg for some unpleasant questions. “hi lucas,” hyunjung politely greets, doing a quick bow. a complete 180 from his personality from earlier. “i was just leaving.”
yukhei nods as hyunjung walks away from you two. he approaches you, pouting. “i was looking all over for you! did you forget about our date today?”
oh, so that’s what you were forgetting. you absentmindedly nod, still thinking of hyunjung’s words from earlier. “oh, sorry.”
he must sense some hostility in you, because he gently grabs your shoulders. “hey, are you okay? you look a little shaken up.”
usually you bottle up your worries; when they overfill, you shove them down even further. but yukhei is the complete opposite, so open about himself like he has nothing to hide. perhaps it’s because you spend so much time with him that his candid tendencies have rubbed onto you. “are you sure you’re okay with this?” you ask.
he tilts his head in confusion. “okay with what?”
you shrug, trying to show hyunjung’s words didn’t bother you as much as it had. “dating me?”
instantly he narrows his eyes, tightening his grip. “did- did hyunjung say something to make you think that way? is that why he came in here?” he protectively wraps his arms around you. “remind me to give him a lesson next time.” you snort; yukhei can’t even hurt a fly. if he does, it’s unintentional, and he always screams at the realization.
“i mean, i usually don’t listen to jerks like that, but-” you pause to gesture at yourself. “i’m your polar opposite, and as funny i think i am, i’m pretty quiet and boring. plus, you hate boring people, or at least people too stuck up for their own good.”
yukhei musters all of the sincerity in his eyes. “but that’s what makes us work so well, (name). i think i’m really cool and nice and all-” you snort at the comment. while all of those adjectives are true, it doesn’t make it less funnier, seeing how much confidence he has. “but i also have my flaws. i can be hotheaded, and i’m bad at saying no. but you help balance them out. you keep me leveled, and you’re always firm about what you want. plus, i help balance your flaws, too; we just work like that.” he squishes your cheeks together, eliciting a sound of protest from you. “if i don’t have a problem with a cutie like you, they shouldn’t, either.”
“some have yet to grasp the concept of treating you like a taken man,” you answer, though it comes out muffled. he giggles at the acknowledgement, leaning down to peck your nose. a garbled noise leaves your throat, and you close your eyes in embarrassment.
“maybe i should show them just how taken i am,” he hums. he promptly removes his hands from your face and wraps an arm around your shoulder. “how about we start by going on our date?”
despite how simple his resolution seems, you know you and yukhei will have another deeper discussion about today’s events. whereas he likes solving things with cuddles and kisses, you like to do it with deep conversations. that can wait for now. “let me lock up first. we’re getting food, right?”
when you look up at him, you suddenly realize what donghyuck meant when he said yukhei looks at you with heart eyes. the look he gives you is so sweet you feel like you’re getting cavities. it’s so endearing you nearly forget all of your insecurities, only focusing on how much he seems to adore you. he always seems to know what to do when you’re in a slump. “of course! gotta feed the cutie here,” he answers, leaning down to kiss the crown of your head.
you roll your eyes with a laugh, though you sneakily wrap your fingers with his. you’ll have plenty of time to repay the favor later.
Hey Jo, hope you are having a great day!
Just wanted to ask, what's your favourite movie? And why is it so?
Thanks for stopping by! Wishing you a great day too!☀️
For the favourite film, I have a couple of those. My top five are (in this order):
1. Little Women (2019)
2. The Perks or Being a Wallflower (2012)
3. Dead Poets Society (1989)
4. Howl's Moving Castle (2004)
5. Lady Bird (2017)
Since Little Women is my favourite, I'll (try to) explain my love for that one. LW is one of my favourite books and watching a movie adaptation is always tricky for me considering how close I feel to the book world (even when I don't like the book that much, I still appreciate it and want it to be done rightfully by the media). With this film, I couldn't wait for it to come out. And when it finally I did, I couldn't stop watching it. I totally lost count of how many times I've seen it (same goes for other favourites I counted above). I enjoyed the crazy timelines because it reminded me of how my brain works; always connecting events to one another and remembering stuff in pictures rather than creating a chronological storyline. I don't wanna end up writing an essay here, but yeah, the story of little women means a lot to me and the 2019 adaptation is my favourite despite some of its flaws.
Betty//things change and friends leave. life doesn't stop for anybody.
Request: Can I request a Betty/Reader where you fly in with Nick St Clair as one of Veronica's old friends and you ask her to show you around Riverdale
hey! i hate nick...a lot. i wonder if that translates in this? anyway, i hope you like it! also, it seems every gay thing i write always has some sort of quote in all lower case letters as the title. hmm... this one is from the perks of being a wallflower. maybe i rushed in with the romance and lovey stuff, maybe i don’t care.
“You really are an awful person.” You spit as you get out of the cab. Nick smiles sweetly at you while he gets out the other side, practically sprinting so he can get to the boot and pull your bags out before you have a chance. He places them on the ground but doesn’t take his hands off the handle until a few seconds after you’ve grabbed it, and your fingers touching his makes you feel even sicker than the plane here.
“Thats not very nice Y/n.” He replies, before sending a very fake, but very big smile to the cab driver and giving him a large tip. “Especially not to someone like me. Or do you want me to tell my parents?”
“Your parents know you’re an ass, they just don’t want to be murdered in their sleep.” You reply and spin on your heel, pulling your suitcase behind you.
“Hey!” He calls after you and you groan, you’ve already been stuck on a plane and in a taxi with him and the short walk from the side of the road to the hotel you’re both staying in seems like a lifetime away. “You’re supposed to be my friend.”
“I am not your friend. I tolerate you because of Veronica, and after she left to move here, I’ve barely seen you. And when I have, it hasn’t been enjoyable.”
“Clearly, that plane ride made you grouchy.” He teases and pinches your cheek. You stop abruptly and turn to face him, you’re just about to slap him when Veronica’s cheery voice stops you.
“Next time. I won’t stop.” You whisper in his ear before looking at your friend, a bright smile appearing on your face as you take in her appearance. She looks different since the last time you saw her, but thats what a small town does to someone like Veronica, however she doesn’t look sad, she looks happy instead, and even though she left you in New York to deal with Nick St douchebag, you’re happy she’s happy.
“Y/n!” She squeals and wraps you in a tight hug. “Nick!” She says once she’s pulled away and you can tell she isn’t as excited to see him, that fact alone makes you feel a little better about all the time you’re inevitably going to have to spend with him. “How’s New York?” She wraps an arm around your shoulder, guiding you up the steps of the hotel and Nick walks on the other side of her.
“Not the same without you.” You say genuinely and she looks at you sadly.
“I’ve missed you.”
“I’v-”
“We’ve missed you too.” Nick interrupts and as soon as he starts talking its like your automatic response is to roll your eyes.
“Aww.” She hits his arm lightly as you walk through the front door and in to the lobby. Its not as fancy as the hotels you’ve stayed at before, but for a small town you’re quite impressed, however you can’t imagine that they get many people staying.
Veronica’s told you so much about Riverdale, about how quaint it is, and how it looks like it would be the backdrop of some coming of age film that the two of you would watch back home. You would fawn over the protagonist, who would be trying to figure out what she was destined to do with her life, while trying to juggle everything else that was thrown at her. And Veronica would drool over her love interest, who would look far to old to be playing a 17 year old, with a chiseled jaw line and abs that definitely did not fit the aesthetic. You missed those times, but like in those coming of age movies, life doesn’t always go the way you want it to, and usually the universe will throw a curveball your way, and you can’t always dodge it.
So, when she invited you to come visit, you were excited to see her new home, meet her new friends, and a small part of you had hoped that your own film, romantic or adventurous or anything in between would start here. But, thats not how the real world works. And instead of meeting the love of your life, you end up stuck with the devil himself on a plane, while he talks about how much he’s missed Veronica and if she’s got a boyfriend yet.
“Oh, before you guys check in, I want to introduce you to some people.” She smiles. “Archie! Betty! Come here!” She waves behind you, and you and Nick both turn around at the same time. You’re met with a red-headed boy and a girl with very light green eyes, pink lips and blonde hair. The pale pink shirt underneath her short dungarees, is so simple but so elegant and even though you’ve never met her, it seems to be so her. “Y/n, Nick.” The sound of his name in the same sentence as yours makes your face scrunch up and the blonde girl seems to notice, a small smile flickering on her face. “This is my boyfriend, Archie.” She says and you glance at Nick, the bright smile on his face drops, and your smile widens. “And this is my best friend, Betty.” She introduces you all.
“Rude.” You mumble and send her a teasing smile before waving at the two. “Y/n.” You smile, your eyes lingering on Betty for a moment longer than normal and a soft blush dusts her cheeks.
“Nice to meet you both.” Archie says while shaking Nick’s hand. “Veronica has told us so much about you.”
“All good I hope.” Nick jokes, but the tone of his voice seems to make you all a little uncomfortable.
“Nothing about you is good.” You reply and send him a sarcastic smile. Both Betty and Archie stifle a smile at your comment, and you can tell you’re going to get along with them. Veronica decides to change the subject to stop any fights happening and soon the five of you are exchanging in polite small talk.
“Anyway.” She claps her hands together after a few minutes. “I need to take Nick to talk to my delightful father.”
“Yeah, I have to go back home.” Archie scratches the back of his neck awkwardly. “Sorry I couldn’t hang out with you guys more.” He sends both you and Nick apologetic smiles, to which you return and Nick just huffs.
“Who says hang anymore.” He whispers in your ear, a small snicker following it making you roll your eyes...again.
“Everyone that talks about how they’d like to watch you die.” You return and shove past him as you walk closer to Veronica. As soon as your by her side she looks between you and a very annoyed Nick before giving you a confused look.
“Well Betty, I guess you’re stuck with me.” You move to look at her, and the two of you send each other small smiles. “Thats if you’ll have me.” You add and she nods, some would say a little too quickly.
“Yeah.” She says. “I can show you around if you want.” She suggests.
“Yeah, that would be great.”
“Well, we all have our orders. Y/n, I’ll meet you at Pop’s later on if you like.”
“Pop’s?” You ask.
“I’ll take you there last.” Betty says.
“You can leave your bags here and they’ll put them in your rooms.” Veronica tells you before calling someone over. She gives them their orders and you smile gratefully at them as they grab your bags. “See you later Y/n. And thanks Betty.” She hugs both of you, before kissing Archie quickly and then guiding Nick out into the street.
“See you Betty. It was nice meeting you Y/n.” Archie is the next to leave and you wave politely at him before he disappears.
“So where do you want to start?” Betty asks.
“I don’t know.” You shrug. “Do you have a favourite place?” You ask as the two of you walk down the steps.
“Hmmm.” She thinks about it for a few seconds before her face lights up in a bright smile, and the sight alone makes you feel a whole lot better about being here for a week, even if you do have to spend some of it with Nick. “I know just the place.” She says before turning on her heel and walking in the opposite direction than you were originally going.
“Is this place far?” You ask. “Because these shoes are not made for walking far. I’m not like Veronica, I can’t sprint in heels.” You giggle and she glances at your black heels.
“I think Veronica could run a marathon in heels if needed.” She laughs. “But don’t worry, my car is parked down the street.” She reassures you. Once the two of you are in the car and driving down the small streets she glances at you quickly before looking back at the road. “Do you miss her?” Her tone changes drastically and the sound of the street your walking down seems too loud all of a sudden. You came here to have fun and see your friend, not talk about serious things with a stranger, no matter how cute said stranger is.
“Erm. Yeah. I do. New York doesn’t feel the same without her.” You admit and look at the passing trees. She sighs, trying to think of something to say to you. However, no matter how much of a people person she thinks she is, she knows how close you and Veronica where, and she knows that if Archie moved to a different street let alone city or town, nobody would be able to make her feel better. So instead she keeps to simple girl talk, something that you’re grateful for, even if you don’t tell her.
“I like your outfit.” She says and you look at her, a small smile on your face.
“Thanks. I like yours too.” You reply and she rolls her eyes.
“You don’t have to be nice.” She shakes her head and you stare at her confused.
“I’m not. I genuinely like what you’re wearing. Why is that so surprising?”
“I just thought it wouldn’t something you liked, I mean based on your outfit right now, I can’t imagine you ever wearing short dungarees.”
“I’m full of surprises Betty.” You nudge her causing her to giggle.
“I’m sure.” She replies, stomping at some traffic lights. Her gaze lingers on your profile for a few seconds too many, and when you catch her staring she can’t help the blush that burns her cheeks.
“So, where exactly are you taking me?”
“I am also full of surprises.”
You continue looking out the window, and wonder what type of place could pull someone like Betty in.
-----
“This is your favourite place?” You wonder as you look around.
“Yep.” She smiles back at you before sitting down on the ground. “Its great isn’t it?”
“It’s an abandoned railway.” You quirk an eyebrow as you look at her. “Its hardly paradise.”
“It is to me.” She smiles, her eyes are closed and her head is tipped back slightly, a soft breeze making her ponytail sway a little and she looks so calm, so peaceful, so at home. “Me and my sister, Polly, used to come here when we were little. Our mom would always tell us to stay away from this place but we never listened. We’d play and run around and just escape into our own little worlds.” She explains before looking back at you. “Do you have anywhere like that back in New York?”
“Hmm.” You think for a few seconds before sitting beside her, your legs outstretched on the cold concrete while hers are crossed next you. The coldness of the ground makes you shiver a little and she’s quickly untying the jacket from her waist and handing it to you. You’re about to argue, but the look she gives you shuts you up and so you smile at her gratefully before draping it over your shoulders. “Not really. When you live where I do, there’s not a lot of places like this. Its all high rise buildings and busy roads, not sleepy streets and abandoned railways. Plus, with my parents being who they are, especially back then, I couldn’t really go out alone. I was always with someone, whether it was a nanny or a chauffeur.” You sigh. “I know.” You hold your hands up. “That makes me sound really stuck up. But I promise I’m not.”
“That honestly never even crossed my mind.” She replies quietly and you turn your head a little to look at her. “Nick however, is an ass.”
“Don’t even get me started.” You groan. “He is the worst person in the world. I honestly don’t know why Veronica is friends with him. Literally the only reason I talk to him, is because of he-what?” You ask when you notice her still looking at you, an un-readable look in her eyes.
“Nothing.” She shakes her head. “Come on.” She stands quickly and pulls you up with her. “I have somewhere else to show you.”
-----
“Oh yeah. This is it.” You smile brightly at her and she gives you a confused look.
“This is what?” She asks as the two of you look around. The bridge connecting Riverdale to the outside world is quiet for the time of day. The sun is high in the sky, warming the two of you, and her jacket is now wrapped around your waist, it doesn’t entirely go with your outfit but Betty thinks its cute, and she has to give her head a shake to get rid of that thought. You’re Veronica’s friend from New York who she’s showing around, nothing more and nothing less. The water from Sweetwater River is gentle beneath the red bridge, but you can hear it none the less, and that sound mixed with the birds in the trees makes you smile as soon as you parked.
“This is where my coming of age story starts.” You spin around and take in your surroundings, and Betty’s looking at you even more confused than before.
“What?”
“This.” You look at her. “Is where everything starts. I’m going to fall in love and have to defeat evil all while trying to figure out who I am.”
“You’re...” She tries to find the word to describe you, to describe how you look right now. But there’s no word to describe how Betty feels when she looks at you. Despite knowing you for less than two hours, she can’t help her stomach doing summersaults every time she looks at you, or the way her heart hammers in her chest every time you laugh. So her sentence dies, whatever compliment she was going to give you disappears, and she’s left watching you while you try and find a stick to drop into the water. “Coming of age?” She asks and hands you a small twig. Your eyes light up as you take it from her and the two of you lean over the ledge, you watching the way it falls and her watching you. You then grab her hand in yours, quickly look at the road before running across it and leaning over the other side. As soon as you see the stick you do a little celebratory dance, and the laugh that comes from your lips is something Betty could never get sick of hearing.
“What about it?”
“Whats it about?”
“Well, Veronica told me that Riverdale could be used in a coming of age film. And we used to watch them all the time at home, so I was excited to see it for myself. The railway was a good contender, but this bridge...this is it. I mean look at it. Its so old and solid and just...here.”
She nods and she looks around. “I get that. But I have somewhere else to show you.”
----
“This place is great.” You look around in awe. “Why the hell was this placed closed.”
“You know, I have a friend called Jughead who you would get along with very well.” She says as the two of you walk through the empty drive in. “So where does this come into your story?”
“Oh, okay.” You stop suddenly and she almost walks into you. “So, two options. Which one do you want to hear?”
“Both.” She nods.
“Well, first option. I’ve met my love interest...whoever she is.” The word she makes Betty’s heartbeat pick up, and now she’s even more interested in what you have to say. “And, she’s showing me around, hey, kind of like this.” You laugh. “And we break into here, and she’s trying to show me that there’s more to life that whatever the hell I’m worrying about, maybe a murder or something. Basically she’s showing me how to live. And we end up here, stood right in this spot, both of us inching closer to the other.” You’re both hyper-aware of how close the two of you seem to have gotten and you don’t remember being this close before. “And...she’ll hold my hand softly in hers, tip my chin to look at her and then lean in slowly, and the whole thing will feel slow and fast all at the same time. And she’ll kiss me, and it’ll be soft and gentle and everything I thought it would be.” You finish, your eyes feel heavy as you look at Betty, your lips centimeters apart and Betty’s hand is holding your arm gently.
“What happens in the second scenario?” She asks quietly and you glance at her eyes. Very light green from far away, but when you look at them up close, they have darker green and even golden specks in them.
“Well, its gotten to the point where everything has gone to shit. My whole life is falling apart, I’ve lost friends, made enemies and the whole reason for my story seems lost. So I come here to make myself feel better, to remind me of the happier times. And she follows me. We fight. We scream and shout at each other and its raining so much you can barely see in front of you. And just as she’s about to storm off, I grab her wrist and pull her back to me, pressing a quick kiss to her lips.” You’re voice is practically a whisper as you look at her. “And then we make out.” You say the last part casually making her laugh loudly.
“Is that the night you guys go like all the way.” She teases, her voice high pitched and mocking and now its your turn to laugh loudly.
“Erm, duh.” You reply, flicking your hair over your shoulder and the two of you giggle.
“Ooooo.” She wiggles her eyebrows.
“So, where are we going now?” You ask.
“Somewhere, that I think you’re really going to like.” She replies, her eyes shining as she stares at you.
For a split second while you’re looking at each other, it feels like you truly are in some sort of movie.
----
“This our last stop before Pop’s.” She turns to face you, as she rambles about the history of this place she walks confidently backwards until you stop at a clearing.
“We’re in the middle of the forest.” You look around.
“I know.” She says. “But its so much more. This is where stories begin.”
“What do you mean?” You ask and she smirks at you.
“Sit down.” She guides you to a worn out brown sofa, pushing you to sit down. She then stands in front of you, a bright grin on her face as she begins. “This.” She points to the ground. “This is where me and Archie buried treasure when we were 8. Its where me and Polly dug it up a week later and its also where Archie got annoyed at me for digging it up, despite him being there with Jughead, to also dig it up a week after that. Its where Cheryl Blossom had her first kiss at 12, with an unknown boy, the mystery of who it was still causes controversy. Its where Jughead went when his dad was drunk, and its also where me and Archie would meet him. Keeping him company until one of us had to go home. Polly told me she had her third date here with Jason Blossom, and that something else happened too, but I won’t divulge.” She scrunches her face up at the last bit and you do the same, standing up quickly and dusting yourself off.
“Gross.” You mumble and decide to sit on the plastic chair.
“We’ve had bonfires, fireworks, parties, fake weddings...don’t ask. Even a fake funeral...definitely don’t ask. There’s been first kisses, first dates, first friendships made. Handshakes and hugs, and everything in between...for generations. This is where everyone’s coming of age story starts and ends. So how do you want to start yours?”
“Like this.” You stand up and walk the short distance towards her. Your hearts in your throat and your stomaches seems to have dropped to your knees while your hands cup her cheek. Her breath hitches at the sudden close proximity but she doesn’t seem to mind, in fact she leans into your touch, her eyes fluttering closed. And then you’re kissing her, softly at first, just to test the waters. Her lips taste like strawberry chapstick and vanilla ice cream and you can’t help but wonder when the hell she had that because you met her at 11 this morning. But that melts away with the rest of your thoughts when her hands rest on your waist, squeezing ever so slightly as you deepen the kiss.
Yeah, this is so much better than any film.
(Echee post) Emma Watson gets drunk and scales a fence naked
Posted on March 20, 2014
In her new interview for Elle Emma admitted something that correlates a tweet from a witness from in July 2011 on location filming Perks of being a Wallflower From snitchseeker.com May 2014, "Among her exploits: She dated a costar Johnny Simmons, and she broke into a swimming pool at 3 A.M. "It was at a hotel," she reports happily. "It had a gate around it. My friends turned around and basically, I was gone. And the next thing they saw was me seven feet up in the air, scaling this fence." This, apparently, is not as out of character as we might suppose. Watson says coyly: "I shouldn’t be able to get away with what I’m getting away with." Here is the tweet from July 2011 and here is a POST I originally posted it in at the time "@_MarieChristine $*MarieChristine; Saw @EmWatson get so drunk that she got naked n climbed the fence to go into the swimming pool at my friend's hotel......http://twitter.com/#!/_MarieChristine." So it was true. I'm not posting the quotes here (I'll link the posts with them below) but to generalize this is a girl that claims to be shy and doesn’t like to party and doesn’t drink to have a good time because it makes her really sleepy and she’s just so boring she says and blah, blah blah. She sucks people in with these statements are herself that makes people like her. It's not just about drinking and getting drunk but everything. Nothing about her is genuine in any shape or form. She is a fraud.
In a recent interview for Wonderland Magazine Emma admitted like she always has which has been one big lie that she's boring and doesn't like being the center of attention.
So in her Wonderland magazine Emma says she shy, socially awkward and a introverted person. For some reason I don't believe her. There are certain things about her that leads me to believe she is not shy or the least bit introverted. The first part of this question asked her straight out as she ever wanted to go off the rails and get drunk and she talked about getting a tattoo but never fully answered that question. The follow up question which is split below in two parts was, "But you’re not as puritanical as that, Emma" So let's look at some thing 1.) From wonderlandmagazine.com Feb 2014, "The truth is that I’m genuinely a shy, socially awkward, introverted person." Posing half naked
For years Emma has said she was shy. From topcelebrityheadlines.com June 2011, "I’m shy." From zimbio.com May 2011, "It's really hard to have a love story for me. I'm a famous actress. And I'm shy." From digitalspy.com October 2010, "Actually, I'm quite shy. I've never liked attention." From iheartwatson.net June 2011 “I still feel shy, but I feel more like I can accept it.” Her come hither looks which I limited for space reasons. There are many and I left out new ones from the Noah premiere. This is not a trait of shy and introverted people.
I doubt a truly shy and introverted people are going to say they'll strip to gain approval for anything. From mtv.com November 2010 (NYC Deathly Hallows) When we caught up with Watson just before she ducked into the theater, we informed her that 90 percent of our viewers had given her wardrobe choice — a specially made Calvin Klein gown — an enthusiastic thumbs-up in an MTV News online poll "Awww, really? Wow, that's such a high percentage!" she exclaimed. "Wow, I aced it, obviously. That's great." While 90 percent is definitely a high number, what might she do in order to get the full 100 percent of viewers' approval? "I don't know, take it off?" she quipped. Then there is her modeling which doesn't strike me as someone that is shy or introverted.
So shy and introverted she can tell a radio host some guy thinks she looks good naked From nudography.com 2008 'Harry Potter' film actress Emma Watson has said she would do a nude scene in a future film or stage role if the script called for it. Watson got on the topic of getting naked on BBC's Live Five radio "I think it's wonderful that Daniel is willing to be so brave for his craft. It's a big risk doing something like this while being so internationally known, but he's a true professional". When asked if she would ever bare all for her art, Watson replied, "Yes, absolutely. I would do it if the script called for it. I guess I would be a little nervous, but I've been told I look good naked, so I guess I've got little to worry about". When Shaffer asked Watson who thinks she looks good naked, she playfully said, "Now, now! I won't say. But I trust his expert opinion." Then there is her attention seeking along with her sultry poses and outfits she sometimes wears. Below is a series of photos from the Cannes for TBR. Everyone is walking up the steps arm and arm but Emma stops to grab the spotlight. Once she takes the arm of a cast mate she can't stop turning around smiling, giggling and waving. Once she gets to the top she hooting and hollering and then blows a series of kisses as her cast mates walk inside. This is not someone that is shy and introverted.
Claiming she wished she did more naughty things is yet another example of what a shy and introverted person would not say. From harrypotterfan.net Nov 2010, "I wished I’d done more naughty things. Three months ago I cut my hair and at that moment I felt I became a woman. I’m ready to start taking risks. I feel less girlish than ever." ... cough ... cough... From emma-watson.net September 2013 (GQ awards), “Given the perilousness in the journey from child star to adult, any award with ‘Woman’ in the title is frankly a relief!” <---- thought she, "I’ve never been in a terrible rush to be seen as a woman.” Then there is the choices of some of her outfits. If you're shy and introverted you're not going to show some flesh and you're certainly not going to show some flesh on TV or at a strip club. The last thing you want to do is draw attention to yourself. You'd be more than happy to dress modestly. There are just a few and I limited them for space reason as well. I left out her recent plunging neckline outfit from the Noah premiere in Madrid and many others like her famed 2009 HBP premiere wardrobe malfunction outfit.
From Elle magazine April 2011 iheartwatson.net, "Does having short hair make you dress differently? ’I think it’s made me bolder in my fashion choices. It’s allowed me to dress more sexily.’” cough ... cough... From omg.yahoo.com W magazine May 2013, “I’ve never wanted to grow up too fast: I wanted to wear a sports bra until I was 22! The allure of being sexy never really held any excitement for me. I’ve never been in a terrible rush to be seen as a woman.” Never heard of a shy and introverted person want o dress more sexually because of a haircut. Then there is her constant blowing of kisses which she does a lot of which all the classic pin ups like Marilyn Monroe ands other used to do. I guess it has nothing to do with shyness but introverted people are not going to go around blowing kisses at people or into the camera.
Then there are moments like this. Who does this? Shy and introverted? I think not. This is begging for attention and just plain weird.
Blowing kisses, posing, giving that sultry look and just enjoying all the attention is not the trait of a shy and introverted person.
Now the only thing I believe her on is the socially awkward part.
Now to the second part of that quote 2.) "At a big party, I’m like Bambie in the headlights. It’s too much stimulation for me, which is why I end up going to the bathroom! I need time outs! You’ve seen me at parties, Derek. I get anxious. I’m terrible at small talk and I have a ridiculously short attention span." I doubt this is true. She loves to be the center of attention on red carpets. She loves the attention. So why would parties be any different? At Coachella (bottom left photo) she was moshing at some points on stage.
This video shows her dancing on stage but there is another I lost of a video shooting down from the stage over Emma's head and you can see she's in plain view of the thousands in attendance. When I find it I'll post it. Shy and introverted people that can't take all the stimulation like she says would not put themselves out there amongst strangers and onlookers. If so, what kind of shy and introverted person is that? To see her drunk/leaving clubs and to read her contradicting quotes about drinking click these links below Emma doesn't like to party Emma never goes clubbing Emma can drink like sailor Emma lied about not drinking at Brown So basically like so much I covered on this blog by exposing her BS this is yet another example One more thing and it's a quote I've posted many times but she keeps on changing her tune In this new interview I started this post off with she also said From snitchseeker.com May 2014, "I was being offered roles that I didn’t feel were very complicated," she says. "Women that were a bit one-dimensional. Roles that required me to be one thing. Real women never are." So, rather than embrace mediocre work, she hid out in Providence, Rhode Island, emerging only for projects that would both stretch her muscles and challenge her public persona." But yet she said something different during her time at Brown From aceshowbiz.com November 2010 She tells U.S. magazine Parade, "I get some amazing offers to act, and sometimes it's hard to say, 'No, I'm going to stay here and do my homework.' People are like, 'What do you mean she's not available?' This college experience is really important to me, and I won't give it up." And yet it was not about roles at all two years ago. It was about her studying From nytimes.com September 2012, “Why hasn’t she done more films before now? “I think at first I didn’t because I was always either studying or filming, I didn’t have time to go off and do other films or other things to sort of show people that, Oh, she is not just Hermione, she is an actress and she can go and do these other parts and roles." So which is the truth and which is the lie? So Sam in Perks and Nicki in TBR were complicated roles that she ended up leaving two Universities for? How about her small role in MWWM that took her a little over a week to film?
mmm personality test sorting time !!
i’ve done one character a day for a while & now they’re all done, so: fun sorts for my characters alphabetically under the cut.
i took the 16 personalities test for the mbti, the eclectic energies test for the enneagram, for hogwarts house I was going to originally just choose based on instinct but i did end up using this knockoff pottermore test, and then I did the open psychometrics “which character are you statistically most like” quiz for the last one.
henry strauss--
mbti: INFP (the mediator) -- “Mediators may feel directionless or stuck unless they connect with a sense of purpose for their lives. For many Mediators, this purpose has something to do with helping and uplifting others. Empathetic by nature, these personalities may feel other people’s suffering as if it were their own“ lmfao oh henry
enneagram: oh he’s a type 4 for sure. I agree with that 200%. -- “Fours are emotionally complex and highly sensitive. They long to be understood and appreciated for their authentic selves, but easily feel misunderstood and unappreciated.”
hogwarts house: 42% hufflepuff (then in order: ravenclaw, gryffindor, slytherin)
which other characters are you most like:
#1: charlie from perks of being a wallflower (OUCH!!)
#2: wes gibbons from htgawm
#3: jonathan byers from stranger things
holland vosijk--
mbti: ISTJ (the logistician)-- “Logisticians have sharp, fact-based minds, and prefer autonomy and self-sufficiency to reliance on someone or something. Dependency on others is often seen by Logisticians as a weakness, and their passion for duty, dependability and impeccable personal integrity forbid falling into such a trap.” this is so funny to me. it’s very true.
enneagram: type 8-- “People of this personality type are essentially unwilling to be controlled, either by others or by their circumstances; they fully intend to be masters of their fate... Eights have a hard time lowering their defenses in intimate relationships. Intimacy involves emotional vulnerability and such vulnerability is one of the Eight's deepest fears” legit
hogwarts house: 40% slytherin (then in order: ravenclaw, gryffindor, hufflepuff)-- this actually surprises me because I would have guessed ravenclaw instead.
what other characters are you most like:
#1: carolyn martens from killing eve (i didn’t know who this was but apparently she’s “principled yet ruthless” and that tracks)
#2: severus snape from harry potter
#3: mr. darcy from pride and prejudice (lmfao)
kaz brekker--
mbti: ESTJ (the executive)-- I don’t know that this is accurate because the whole first paragraph of the description is about how executives understand right/wrong and embrace honesty and tradition BUT later in the description some of it aligns: “Executives don’t work alone, and they expect their reliability and work ethic to be reciprocated – people with this personality type meet their promises, and if partners or subordinates jeopardize them through incompetence or laziness, or worse still, dishonesty, they do not hesitate to show their wrath. This can earn them a reputation for inflexibility.”
enneagram: type 3-- “They are frequently hard working, competitive and are highly focused in the pursuit of their goals... They are often self-made and usually find some area in which they can excel... They know how to present themselves, are self-confident, practical, and driven... They are good networkers who know how to rise through the ranks.” THAT’S accurate.
hogwarts house: almost the same as holland, which is unsurprising-- 37% slytherin, then 30% ravenclaw with gryffindor and hufflepuff trailing far behind.
what other characters are you most like:
#1: amy dunne from gone girl (lmfaoooooo)
#2: walter white from breaking bad
#3: vicious from cowboy bepop
martin blackwood--
mbti: INFJ (the advocate)-- “Advocates generally strive to do what’s right – and they want to help create a world where others do the right thing as well... Advocates may be reserved, but they communicate in a way that is warm and sensitive... Advocates might find themselves feeling especially stressed in the face of conflict and criticism. These personalities tend to act with the best of intentions, and it can frustrate them when others don’t appreciate this.” awww that’s sweet I do like that for him.
enneagram: type 2, with 6 being a close second. I definitely called that. “People of this personality type essentially feel that they are worthy insofar as they are helpful to others... Twos are warm, emotional people who care a great deal about their personal relationships, devote an enormous amount of energy to them, and who expect to be appreciated for their efforts.”
hogwarts house: 39% hufflepuff, and then the others are all fundamentally tied around 20-21% each. I’d agree with that.
what other characters are you most like:
#1: landry clarke from friday night lights (initially i was like-- a football player? what? but then his wiki description is: “generally polite, awkward, and enjoys playing guitar” so lol ok)
#2: cameron james from 10 things i hate about you
#3: peeta mellark from the hunger games
melanie king--
mbti: ESTP (the entrepreneur)-- “Entrepreneurs keep their conversation energetic, with a good dose of intelligence, but they like to talk about what is – or better yet, to just go out and do it. Entrepreneurs leap before they look, fixing their mistakes as they go, rather than sitting idle, preparing contingencies and escape clauses.”
enneagram: like holland, she’s for sure a type 8: “Eights are strong willed, decisive, practical, tough minded and energetic.” I think the aggressive aspect of type eights is more obvious in her personality than his, though.
hogwarts house: 47% gryffindor! then, in order: slytherin, ravenclaw, hufflepuff.
what other characters are you most like:
#1: erica sinclair from stranger things
#2: max mayfield from stranger things
#3: lois lane from smallville (yessss)
orpheus--
mbti: INFP (the mediator)-- I was actually surprised he got introverted instead of extroverted, but here we are. “Mediators’ creativity and idealism can bloom even after the darkest of seasons. Although they know the world will never be perfect, Mediators still care about making it better however they can. This quiet belief in doing the right thing may explain why these personalities so often inspire compassion, kindness, and beauty wherever they go.”
enneagram: oh, yep, he’s a type 9-- “People of this personality type essentially feel a need for peace and harmony. They tend to avoid conflict at all costs, whether it be internal or interpersonal... Nines tend to adopt an optimistic approach to life; they are, for the most part, trusting people who see the best in others; they frequently have a deep seated faith that things will somehow work out.”
hogwarts house: my sweet son is 43% hufflepuff, then gryffindor, ravenclaw, and essentially no slytherin.
what other characters are you most like:
#1: flounder from the little mermaid (ok that’s sort of rude)
#2: snow white from snow white
#3: dorothy gale from the wizard of oz (that tracks)
patroclus--
mbti: INFJ (the advocate)-- so, same as martin. “Advocates can speak with great passion and conviction, especially when standing up for their ideals. At other times, however, they may choose to be soft-spoken and understated, preferring to keep the peace rather than challenge others.” i love him sm.
enneagram: he’s a type 2, also like martin, the helper type. this half-surprises me because i thought there was maybe a chance he’d be a type 6.
hogwarts house: it’s actually really close between hufflepuff and gryffindor? 31% and 32% respectively. then slytherin, then ravenclaw.
what other characters are you most like:
#1: eliza hamilton from hamilton
#2: glenn rhee from the walking dead
#3: ben hargreeves from the umbrella academy
wei wuxian--
mbti: ENFP (the campaigner)-- “Campaigners, like all their Diplomat cousins, are shaped by their Intuitive (N) quality, allowing them to read between the lines with curiosity and energy... Charming, independent, energetic and compassionate, the 7% of the population that they comprise can certainly be felt in any crowd.”
enneagram: he’s my only type 7. “They tend to be extroverted, multi-talented, creative and open minded... They often have an entrepreneurial spirit and are able to convey their enthusiasm to those with whom they come in contact. When they are able to focus their talents, they are often highly successful. Focusing does not always come easily for Sevens, however.”
hogwarts house: this test says he’s 29% slytherin, 27% gryffindor, 23% hufflepuff, and 21% ravenclaw.
what other characters are you most like:
#1: george weasley from harry potter (oh that’s genuinely really good)
#2: abby sciuto from ncis (that’s actually perfect too from what i know about ncis)
#3: nymphadora tonks from harry potter
yuri plisetsky--
mbti: ISTJ (the logistician), same as holland-- “Logistician personalities are no-nonsense, and when they’ve made a decision, they will relay the facts necessary to achieve their goal, expecting others to grasp the situation immediately and take action... To Logisticians, honesty is far more important than emotional considerations.”
enneagram: he’s type 3-- “People of this personality type need to be validated in order to feel worthy; they pursue success and want to be admired... When unhealthy, their narcissism takes an ugly turn and they can become cold blooded and ruthless in the pursuit of their goals.” lol
hogwarts house: 31% slytherin and 27% ravenclaw, then gryffindor and hufflepuff in last.
what other characters are you most like:
#1: cordelia chase from buffy the vampire slayer (once again, hilarious)
#2: amy march from little women
#3: tahani al-jamil from the good place
Day twenty-five - share some of your favourite MCs from other books.
Assuming this means books other people have written, I’ll go with that.
Elio Perlman from Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman. Elio just incorporates everything I desire in a character, and many of the same traits i myself carry. He loves music and literature, both things I’m very passionate about, he is intelligent and introverted, two of the most valuable things I think a person can have, but most importantly, its the way he feels that makes me love him as a main character. He doesn’t feel or he feels too hard, and in all honesty, he only really feels for Oliver, everyone else is completely useless to him for lack of a better word. He doesn’t see the value in feeling things for people he doesn’t love with all of his heart, and that is the way I think it should be. Literature and music make him feel more than people can, until Oliver came along. And though I don’t believe in love in my own life, I think that Elio is the perfect embodiment of what it means to love wholly.
Charlie from The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. He’s been through so much, and he is such a complex character. Reading his inner thoughts is so provocative and I just think that Charlie is the incarnation of everything good in the world. He’s the perfect character.
Jo and Amy March from Little Women and Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott. I appreciate Jo’s intellect and her entire character, whereas I see so much of myself in Amy. Her shrewd nature and her strong opinions, her willingness to wait foe the right thing to come along. They’re both so incredibly written and so strong, both displaying different traits that should be seen more in women, portraying them in a good light instead of morphing good traits to make a female character seem like a villain. Alcott’s portrayal of strong female characters for her time is absolutely ground-breaking.
Dorian Gray from The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. This is more of a wild card, because he is a really morally grey character, but I appreciate his shrewd and his cunning and everything he goes through to keep his reputation in tact. It is rather admirable, making him a great main character.
Will Traynor from Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. Yes, I’m aware that technically Lou is the main character in this trilogy, but Will is such a main character in the first book that I wouldn’t feel right for leaving him out, especially with his special place in my heart. He is such a clever person with all of the right traits and the right priorities. Will is the only kind of person I can see myself ever falling in love with, and the fact that he gives life ago and takes that risk is what makes him such an incredible character.
Will Newman and Stella Grant from Five Feet Apart by Rachel Lippincott. This is one of my favourite books, and being able to read the same situation from both of their perspectives gives one a chance to explore their true thoughts and feelings, both processes I can understand in different ways. They’re both so well formed and yet so flawed at the same time, and myself having chronic illnesses, It was so lovely to finally see some quality representation of chronically ill people, honest representations that show everything bad, and two main characters? They’re wonderful.
Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Cliché, I know, but I honestly think that Elizabeth Bennett is the perfect female character. Every morning I ask myself WWEBD? And it helps me get through my day at school with perverted imbecilic teenagers. And I’m not even talking about boys, since I’m at a girls school. I think she’s just the best protagonist ever written, because she represents everything wholly, the perfect dimensions of everything, making her so complicated, yet that’s what makes her so brilliant.
Hey, notice a pattern here? I tend to like lots of the same main characters, these are the ones that annoy me the least. Whenever a main character begins to annoy me, I just kind of shut them out. And most are men though I can’t quite put my finger on why. I like characters I can relate to, which is why I like my characters, since I base them on myself and it’s rather difficult to find female main characters who struggle with actual emotions. Not all women are socially adept, and I don’t know why only male characters are written as introverts who hate feeling things. However, I’ve only really been a reader for a year, so hopefully I’ll read more books in the upcoming months that will put some more female characters on pedestals for me.
“THE EMMA WATSON EFFECT”
Because I like giving unwanted opinions that might or might not be unpopular.
So this is my take on her (two) most popular characters.
Why do writers think we want to see Emma Watson play a strong, flawless, almost perfect woman?
I just want a good character, so what’s up with this shit?
I have nothing against Watson, but her performances of Hermione and Belle were just not for me. I don’t want a perfect human being THE role model for little girls. I think presenting a character without weaknesses is a BIG mistake, because it takes away the humanity of the character.
It all started with Hermione Granger and Steve Kloves glorification of her. In the books, Hermione used to be a significantly different character. She was the wallflower, she was a girl who had a hard time making friends because of her “strong” or better said difficult personality. A flawed and yet relatable character for many young girls.
The first movie did pretty ok, I guess. But then all the other movies came along. And suddenly, Hermione was this smart, strong, independent pretty girl that saved Harry and Ron from multiple situation with her LOGIC.
“Actually I'm highly logical which allows me to look past extraneous detail and perceive clearly that which others overlook” (fucking hate this quote) making them look inferior and stupid on comparison. It’s also very important to remark that in order to make her smarter and wiser than her book counterpart, some of Ron’s greatest moments were taken away.
“If you want to kill Harry you’ll have to kill us too!” Is such a good example of this. But then again, the whole POA movie could be used as an example.
There are a lot of essays and videos explaining the whole Book vs. Movie Issue and while Ron’s character is the one that suffered the most because of this, Hermione, at least for me became way less likeable and way less relatable.
But it wasn’t just Ron’s lines that were taken away! Even a Dumbledore quote was given to Hermione in the movies! “Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself.” -Albus Dumbledore.
So as a result, Hermione became everyones favorite character. And the world started to see her as the TRUE HERO of Harry Potter (an opinion I strongly disagree with) and Harry was just reduced as Hermione’s bestie (even tho his BFF was Ron) who needed her help for every single thing he ever did and Ron just became this laughable sidekick whose only purpose was being a comic relief.
After the HP saga ended, Emma Watson continued working on different projects.
And don’t hate me for saying this but I find super unfair that among the whole cast she had the biggest career opportunities because of the way her character was changed in the movies (I’m happy for her, don’t get me wrong.) I just think that’s what differentiates her from the rest of the cast: Steve Kloves favoritism.
She did an OK bunch of movies (The Perks of Being a Wallflower is actually one of my all time favorite movies) where I don’t think she’d been as outstanding as she was in Harry Potter.
But then Beauty and the Beast came out. And it was honestly one of the worst performances I’ve seen from her (but this is just my personal opinion) this was straight up the same character as Movie Hermione.
They changed Belle character because of Emma, and just like they did with Hermione: they made her the perfect woman.
Once again, Emma Watson played a smart, strong yet beautiful woman who had almost zero flaws.
And I was BORED. I’ve seen this character before and I did not enjoy it.
I don’t know if people see it this way or if it’s just me, but Belle was just ruined. And it was because (for what I heard) Emma Watson wanted to make some changes to the character. And to me it just seemed like Hermione all over again.
I mean, I guess I get it. She knew that’s what audiences loved her for. THAT CHARACTER. So she replicated her. Ok.
But i don’t know, didn’t like her version of Belle, didn’t like Kloves’ version of Hermione. Because, even if I sound way too repetitive. I think a character without flaws is boring, unrealistic and annoying.
I like the intention though.
Being a role model for little girls is a fine idea. But I was a little girl watching the HP films and I was frustrated at how perfect Hermione was (I didn’t read the books until I was 12-13)
I was so stressed out about it. How can anybody be that pretty, that smart, that strong, that powerful? And then I read the books and realized that Movie Hermione was bullshit.
We’re humans after all, Who can live up to that?
I like Emma as an individual, I love her activism and all that. But I don’t like the way the characters versions she’s played (Belle and Hermione) are written. This is not about her as a person, this is just about her characters.
I wrote this after watching this videothat made me realize how much they changed Belle too!
In conclusion: I think showing this portrayal of a character just puts pressure on little girls and creates a desire of being perfect instead of representing REAL women.
But, this is just my opinion.
#emma watson#unpopular opinion#this probably has a lot of grammatical errors#and isn’t it funny how she doesn’t stand out (as an actor) unless she is portraying this character?#harry potter#hermione granger#beauty and the best#belle#anti steve kloves#ron weasley was robbed#live action beauty and the beast#disney#harry potter movies#ron weasley deserved better
weep woop
ayo. ive read my scheduled email and its time for freewriting shit again. lmao. I want this post to be like a small light from a lit match stick inside a very hollow, icy, and numbing cave. (sounds cartoonish right? I know. Im obsessed with Adventure Time.) I want all people to be genuinely happy. Spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Upon reaching my 24th anniversary in this world, I finally learned how to truly embrace all my emotions. Some are more overwhelming than the other, but we have to heed in our treacherous yet perplexing minds that everything is fleeting and we are in control. The feeling of extreme sadness fades, but so does joyful states. Everything can change in a matter of minutes or years. You are in control of all your emotions. You are in control of all your life choices. Your actions. Your words. Your perspective. It feels weird to actually write about it. I've wanted to talk about it. I never wanted help from anyone as I firmly believed that I was alone. Sure, I have a family and friends, but it is hard to see that when your head is clouded with negativity. I've even come to the point where I was too overwhelmed, I found being physically hurt less painful. The pain I felt distracted me from what I was thinking. My mind tended to go bonkers. lmao. But bro, I was so good at concealing my bonkers mind. It's easy to fake any emotion that you have. Slap anything sunshine-y or happy to anything and people would believe you. It went on for years. Long story short, thousands of bracelets collected, it became worse. The physical pain could no longer withhold the emotional pain. Couldn't sleep. Couldn't stop thinking. And voila! I found a good amount of self help books (from tumblr) and novels. Novels that brought me to different places. Self-help books that made me understand what I feel and what to do. I've read that taking the easy way out will leave everyone sad. AND IN THE FIRST PLACEEEEEE, I NEVER WANT THATTTTTTT. I want everyone to be happy. I would act foolish and do dumb shit to make everyone happy in a heartbeat. So, that idea made me push a few more years. Later on, the crippling shit came crawling back again to my head, sooooooo I needed new shit to keep me distracted again. Films, series, music, and short clips from YouTube helped me out a lot. Every single time that my mind is going to think like anything that can think of, even to the point that I was just going to think that I might be hungry, I'd watch something. There's just something about silence for me. Because of this new habit of mine, I've learned more about myself. I love different types of things. I like horror. I like thriller. I like comedy. I like romance. I love all types of films, but there is something about the horror genre that interests me. I still can't point out what, but I love watching horror films. With regards to music, I've learned that I love Indie, Punk Rock, Rap, and Pop. We all can't like a specific genre. It's stupid to ask "what genre of music do you like?". It's not actually stupid-stupid, it's just stupid. Ya know? Anyway, passing this phase, I needed to find something again because it's not doing the shit that it was supposed to, I tried investing more time on video games. By investing more, I mean a whole shit lot. I love video games since I was young cuz.... u know.... they keep u... try to guess it! oh yeah. you got that right! distracted! I love the aggressive plays and trashtalks that my friends and I make. The short stories we tell one another. The rants. The lame jokes. The late night we sound drunk but we are not drunk jokes. The roleplays. The lame jokes. The memes. And once again, The lame jokes. Something about lame jokes and the laughs and curses after that always gets me every single time. Oh shoot. Yup Yup. Few years later, I finally noticed the pattern that my sadness is temporary. I got over it one way or the other (or another. depends on how you wanna read it. i dont wanna say another cause i might write about one direction like what im doing now so-). Happiness is temporary as well. But, we are the ones who are actually in control of our emotions. If you wanna feel sad, be sad for a while. You're getting too sad? Try hanging out with your funny friends. Can't do that? Find an alternative. Watch a movie, knit a sweater. Anything your mind could think of as long as it will keep you mentally distracted from being physically and mentally hurt. I do have a few notes though. We cannot and should never assume what people are going through. It may be petty for you, but it may be very crucial to them. So never everrrr say things like: -Some people have it worse than you -At least you have ..... These sheetsss are annoying as heckkk and could really down someone. I know it is not your intention to annoy but people react differently. alsooooooo, it is not okay or normal to hate on things for bandwagon. that is just plainly crazy and stupid. let people enjoy things. anddddddd never suppress your emotions. admit what you feel inside and try to think of a way to resolve ittttt. keeping it to yourself will just make it worseeeeee. find your own outlettttttttt. hihihi ️ alsooooo. being more spiritually full with God's words and ideas really help me to be spiritually happy. ps. im christian but i dont discredit other religion and even applaud other religion's ideas and beliefs. this is a really long, selfish post so i might as well recommend some things I like : Songs with their lyrics that made me go through life. “I’ve got soul but I’m not a soldier” -All These Things That I've Done, The Killers “It's not too late, I'm still right here” -Breaking Your Own Heart, Kelly Clarkson "And the salt in my wounds / Isn't burning any more than it used to / It's not that I don't feel the pain / It's just I'm not afraid of hurting anymore / And the blood in these veins / Isn't pumping any less than it ever has / And that's the hope I have / The only thing I know that's keeping me alive" -Last Hope, Paramore “There is not a single word in the whole world / That could describe the hurt / The dullest knife just sawing back and forth / And ripping through the softest skin there ever was / How were you to know?” -Hate to See Your Heartbreak, Paramore "It's holding on, though the road's long / And seeing light in the darkest things And when you stare at your reflection / Finally knowing who it is / I know that you'll thank God you did" -1800, Logic "Did some things you can't speak of / But at night you live it all again / You wouldn't be shattered on the floor now / If only you had seen what you know now then" -Innocent, Taylor Swift (My bb) "10 months sober, I must admit / Just because you're clean don't mean you don't miss it / 10 months older, I won't give in / Now that I'm clean I'm never gonna risk it // Rain came pouring down when I was drowning / That's when I could finally breathe / And by morning gone was any trace of you, I think I am finally clean" -Clean, Taylor Swift “I guess I always knew / That I had all the strength to make it through.” -Believe in Me, Demi Lovato "I'm addicted to the madness / I'm a daughter of the sadness / I've been here too many times before / Been abandoned and I'm scared now / I can't handle another fallout / I am fragile, just washed upon the shore / They forget me, don't see me / When they love me, they leave me" -I Hate You, Don’t Leave Me, Demi Lovato “I'm overwhelmed / I need a voice to echo / I need a light to take me home / I need a star to follow / I don't know” -Nightingale, Demi Lovato "I'm a walking travesty / But I'm smiling at everything. // Arrogant boy, Love yourself so no one has to." -Therapy, All Time Low "I tried it once before but I didn't get too far / I felt a lot of pain but it didn't stop my heart. / But maybe I'm alive 'cause I didn't really wanna die / But nothing very special ever happens in my life / Take the blade away from me I am a freak, I am afraid that / All the blood escaping me won't end the pain / And I'll be haunting all the lives that cared for me / I died to be the white ghost / Of the man that I was meant to be" -Ghost, Badflower "Are the pieces of you / In the pieces of me? / I'm just so scared / You're who I'll be / When I erupt / Just like you do / They look at me / Like I look at you" -DNA, Lia Marie Johnson Movies and series to try : -The Perks of Being a Wallflower (The book is bomb af. if yall havent tried, ur missing out) -The Kings of Summer -Never Let Me Go -The Art of Getting By -Silver Linings Playbook -Winter’s Bone -The Lovely Bones (The script. The words) -Me and Earl and the Dying Girl -American Horror Story -Black Swan
pps. remember that every one has their own pace and point of view. don’t push yourself too hard, and don’t overthink. give yourself time, and respect all your emotions. analyze them but not more than like 5 minutes as anything beyond that might cause you to overthink and be sadder. and sad is not rad. hehe. you got this. you got you. self love is the best even though it can be tricky to do. nobody else is like you. you’re the only one of you (i just remembered me.......... i might have hummed it while typing it mid sentence). consider other people’s opinion but do not let it cloud your own judgement as you know yourself best. dont let other comment’s define you. spread love. vibe people you vibe with. ayeeee lets go!!!
ppps this is my last post bc im happier now and know myself better. i no longer limit myself on the age that I want. I want to live as long as how God wants me to be. hehe.
『 zendaya. twenty-three. cis woman. she/her. 』 oh heavens, is that KYLIE MOORE from CHESTNUT DRIVE i see roaming around mapleview? minnie may’s always calling them -CARELESS & -RECKLESS. i happen to think they’re not that bad! they’re a pretty cool CLERK AT STRINGS & THINGS and every time i’ve seen them, they’ve always been +WHIMSICAL & +LOYAL. i hope i see them around again! 』
kylie moore has always been different. she was born on october 31st, 1997, at around 3:30 am in one of the best hospitals New York City had to offer. oddly enough, when she was old enough to speak, her first words were not 'mama' or 'papa' but instead her mother's first name, 'chantel.' that was just one instance in which her parents understood that kylie moore would never be 'normal.'
growing up, kylie's creativity flowed as effortlessly as a river. it showed in how she dressed, spoke, the scents she'd pick out for body sprays, how she viewed the world and many more ways. while her father (one of new york's finest and ruthless lawyers) wanted kylie to start acting more 'proper' and 'ladylike' from a very young age, her mother (one of new york city's top psychiatrist) always pushed for her creative freedom to be expressed. needless to say, the older kylie got, the more her parents would buttheads. At the end of it all, she always tried to make both parents happy in some way.
along with her creative soul, came an enormous amount of curiosity for the world around her, particularly for solving mysteries. at one point in her life (when she was in her early teens), kylie became so into mystery-solving that she began to explore the house she lived in a bit more. she was in the middle of one of her detective games when she opened a box hidden in the depths of her parents closet, it was a box that would change kylie moore's life forever. in this box were letters to a boy named lane. while her mother never mentioned the name before, it certainly seemed like this boy was someone who meant very much to her. as she read letter after letter, kylie slowly began to piece together the puzzle before her.
throughout her remaining years at home, kylie did not mention the mysterious letters that resided in her parents closet. instead, she kept quiet (mainly because she wanted to keep reading new letters that would arrive from lane) and slowly began to plot how she could one day meet her mystery half-sibling face to face. the idea occurred to her while she was watching 'perks of being a wallflower' of all movies, but she began to set the pieces into place from the moment it struck her.
before the idea had struck, if you were to ask kylie moore what she wanted to do when she was old enough to leave the nest, she would have instantly told you she wanted to be either a painter or a film director. she would have also told you about her dreams of attending columbia university (located in chicago), one of the best schools for nurturing everyone's creative soul. instead, she chose to cave in to what her father wanted and began to search for universities that offered good law programs. however, she didn't tell her parents what she was doing, but she was also applying for a university that stood proudly in a small town called mapleview. so, when she received her acceptance letters for both universities, she did not hesitate to attend one for a semester before transferring her grades to the one in mapleview.
after taking a short break, she did not return to the school; her parents assumed their daughter was attending. instead, she made the trip to her new school in mapleview. it had been a plan in the making for years, almost feeling like centuries, but she was still incredibly nervous at the idea of finally seeing her brother face to face. while she had no clue what he looked like, she did have a name, and in a town like mapleview, she figured his name was going to be enough to locate him.
it's been about a week, moving into two, since her arrival in mapleview. while she hasn't made an effort just yet to go around and look for her brother, she has been making an effort to set herself up for a comfortable stay. she got a job at the local music shop (strings & things) as a clerk and even managed to get a place with a cool soul by the name of jude. her room purposely has white walls on it to leave their mark on them when they visit. another quirk about kylie is that she enjoys sneaking around the town at night to find any walls that might need a touch of kylie on them. she doesn't leave her signature on any of her wall paintings, though, but she enjoys seeing the reaction people get when one randomly appears overnight.
THINGS AND BITS:
loves old school rock and roll.
horror movie/romcom lover
always has an idea for a script in her head, or a camera in hand
adores puppies/kittens
can cook like no tomorrow
pansexual
love in her heart/soul
messy brain, messy buns, but clean freak
connections:
fwbs, flings, best friend(s), close friend(s), drinking buddies, partner in crime, online pen pal, and many more!
Current Connections:
Romeo Rhodes: a summer fling she had that ended too quickly for her taste. he was the first person she had ever hooked up with, but that was something she witheld from him. to this day, he holds a special place in her heart.
Daniel Moon: a close friend of hers that she met at another rich kids birthday party she was forced to go to one day. they bonded, clicked, fused, almost instantly. daniel is someone who means the world to kylie, practically a rock in her fickle life, and she would do ANYTHING for him. he’s the guy she can call at three in the morning to cry to, or the person she knows will grab a milkshake with her and allow her to vent her problems away.
Lane Morrison: her half brother that she does NOT know about just yet. while her and lane have been keeping in touch as penpals (thanks to a school project), it really never occurred to kylie to put two and two together. she’s been in touch with lane for a year. he knows a lot about her, except for the bit about her brother.
(Not Quite A Movie Review)
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
- fun fact: i was today years old when i found out that macaulay culkin has a brother and that said brother starred in this movie
- i think if i had watched this when i was younger ramona would’ve been my bisexual awakening, but i’m worried about what that says about me.
- i’m sure johnny simmons is a lovely person, i wouldn’t know, but after the movies i’ve seen him in i just want to punch him in the face (ex: jennifer’s body, the perks of being a wallflower)
- i feel bad for knives because i’ve been in her situation before. known one too many scotts in my life.
- i enjoy how self-aware the movie is that scott is an asshole. he only gives a shit about what he’s saying and the only girl he was comfortable with dating was younger and inexperienced because he’s too pathetic to date anyone his own age. fuck scott.
- i liked that the movie had ramona decide to change her mind about sleeping with scott. a movie showing a woman being able to change her mind about having sex and the choice being respected (while it is a low bar to set) is a breath of fresh air.
- i love kim.
- scratch that thing i said about ramona. envy would’ve been my awakening. brie larson is already sexy but brie larson singing....in those shoes....in that dress
- “i’m a little bi-furious”
- not that this movie has anything to do with being realistic, but i think it should’ve taken place over a longer period of time. i’m sure they did that in the graphic novels.
- i don’t know if i’m reading too much into this because of personal experiences, but i like the theme of past the relationships haunting them, that sometimes they’ll stick with you and if you can’t move on it might ruin your current relationship.
- do i love that ramona and scott ended up together? no.
- did i like the movie? yeah. i should’ve watched it years ago like my cousin told me to.
sorry this is so long. if you read this, thank you for taking the time.
