#i’ve been doing my box braids for 4yrs now i think and this is the best I’ve ever done them

Okay…!

I put in some new box braids myself this week so I want to share what got me through the sort of mindless 11hr and 26 minutes it took.

I’ve been really into ginger colors because it looks good with my skin. So I used the colors 30, 33, and 613. I mix them together and then braid. I like the mix of colors together.

I used Xpression 42 inch in each color. I used to use french curl, but I hate that braiding hair so much. It’s took difficult for me and it’s hard to grip. Also the maintenance when you’re done is not worth it in my opinion.

I wanted it to be a short curly bob-ish look, but bc my hair is too long for that now it’s a bit longer than a bob (imo).

Initially I used curling rods to curl the wnds but it didn’t come out the way I wanted so I used the foam curlers. It came out way better :)

Okay so for the things that I did to keep me going:

- I listened to HIT ME HARD AND SOFT by Billie Eilish. It’s an amazing album

- rewatched some Dungeon Meshi

- making time-lapse videos of me pre-parting my hair and then starting the box braids

- eating the fajitas I made!!!
