Ok but how exactly is Lady Whistledown supposed to work in future seasons if everyone knows that it’s Penelope? The whole reason behind Lady Whistledown being successful is that Penelope is an ‘invisible wallflower’, who is easily able to fade into the background and observe things unnoticed? If everyone and the Queen knows who you are, aren’t they naturally going to be on the lookout for you and on guard in your presence? Which makes it utterly impossible to go unnoticed?

And on top of that, how is she going to be able to be snarky in her signature style without consequences, if not for herself, then for her family or children when everyone knows who you are?

Even if they were temporarily moved by Penelope’s public (!!) declaration, the next time someone’s daughter gets called a singed daffodil, no one’s going to try and go after revenge and a woman with sister-in-laws, and nieces, who are yet to debut in society, is not worried about what it’s going to do to them?
