I know (hope) Mickey, Donald and Goofy the Three Musketeers is not people’s primary source of french swashbuckler, but in case it is, here are a few historical errors sprinkled here and there.
(not even going to start on the plot because it’s nothing like the book obviously)
- Musketeers are called peasants (or some social equivalent) by Daisy, to explain why Minnie cannot be in love with Mickey. Actually Musketeers were all nobles. Also, Daisy would have been, too, because she’s the lady in waiting of the princess/queen and thus would be one of the highest ranking ladies in the kingdom herself.
- Now obviously modern plumbing, blue overalls for plumbers and electric polishers didn’t exist yet.
- Mount Saint Michael is referenced as a torture place. It was not. I mean it still isn’t. It was a monastery. I’m pretty sure I remember a novel in which they mentionned it as a prison, too. But prisons in monasteries were never torture chambers, and if there had been one case where it was, which I don’t know about, it wouldn’t have been the Mount.
- The opera at the end is the Pirates of Penzance, which premiered in 1879. The Three Musketeers era is under Louis XIII so basically the middle of the XVII (17)th century. On that note, since Pete hears the music on which he sings his king of france song, we’ll count it as an anachronism too (Peer Gynt, Edvard Grieg, 1875), but well every bit of classical/romantic/otherwise music heard in the movie is anachronic. Only counted those canonically heard by the characters.
- Also, but that’s something that’s everywhere even in the original book, the musketeers’ emblematic weapon was not the sword but the musket (that’s... where the name comes from).
- The sword one of the beagle boys uses is a north-african sword, which could mean they are african/arabic mercenaries. However most mercenaries at the time were from Switzerland and Italy.
- Also obviously the fact Minnie is reigning as a princess is doubly, triply... I mean very very bizaar. Because 1) a princess cannot reign. only queens do. 2) at no point in the century in which the Musketeers happens did a woman reign without being the widow of the former king and mother of the newest. That did happen a lot longer than should have legally happened. But Minnie is not with child (or that was left out of the script lol).
- The musketeers being basically the only form of army they have is also not on point at all even if I can understand that an animated pictures movie cannot show twenty different army corps with different uniforms etc, plus it had no place in the plot. Musketeers were, basically, the navy seals of the french army. That means there were also regular marines, plus the terrestrial army and the aviation and the police and...
- The royal palace is shown in the countryside with big gardens. In the Musketeers’ era, the royal palace was in the center of Paris and had no notable gardens.
- The guillotine scene? Well sorry but it’s a century too early, maybe a century and a half.
- Also the whole plan Pete has to get a beagle boy to impersonate the princess and give him the power? Well one couldn’t abdicate that easily, and even now one cannot abdicate in anybody’s favor. If, say, Charles III abdicated today, it could only be in favor of his eldest son William. Here Minnie could only abdicate to her closest eligible relative. The only way it could work would be if Pete was her closest eligible relative. Problem is he is older than her and a boy, so if he had already been eligible at the time she received the crown, due to old succession laws that were valid at the time, he would have been given the crown instead, because being a boy trumped being a closer-to-the-throne girl. So nope. Impossible. But I mean it’s Peg-leg Pete’s plan in a mickey mouse picture so...
Kinda getting sidetracked but I think I’ve covered the subject.

Ask for Daisy Duck!
send me a character!
favorite thing about them: God, can I put my answer down as literally everything? I think my main favorite thing is how she handles her friendships with selflessness. There’s an episode of House of Mouse where Minnie is jealous Daisy & Mickey will be singing a song together, so Daisy fakes breaking her leg so that Minnie can go on instead of her. I love her, so freaking much.
least favorite thing about them: WHEN DAISY GETS BAD WRITERS, IT SHOWS!
favorite line: “I’m not a soldier! I’m something much more dangerous – A TV JOURNALIST!”
brOTP: Her and Mickey!!
OTP: Her and Donald??? Please yes, that’s the childhood otp right there. My friend L and I are also biased to shipping her with Gladstone.
nOTP: I don’t think I have one, but when she airs in DT17 I’ll get back to you because I’m sure she’ll be shipped with literally everyone.
random headcanon: Daisy can do most forms of dance, but her favorites are swing and hiphop
unpopular opinion: Daisy is a good and kind character who should be treated with respect and not hated in any way, shape, or form.
song i associate with them: The Name of the Game - Lily James
favorite picture of them:

I don't know if you have been asked this before ( if you have them sorry QnQ I haven't read all the questions and answers yet) if don't... What are your thoughts of panchito? And your thoughts about his relationship with Jose? or Donald? ( both...?) Or Clara... ?( I don't ship him with her but that's just my personal opinion)
no problem!! i like answering these lol
i love panchito! i love him as much as i love jose, I can’t pick a favourite. he’s such a good character in the three caballeros movie, full of energy and mischief but also displays very soft gestures and tender displays of affection towards jose and donald. i’m not sure how to explain it but he has a very interesting rhythm… he sings that long, upbeat high note of “ay jalisco no te rajes”, then quietly explains what a piñata is to donald ; then they play the piñata game where he laughs and is full of mischief, then quiets down to calmly talk about the mexican flag…. i always thought despite his loudness, trigger happy tendancies, and easily excitable personality, he’s capable of being a very cool and dependable person. and I think it’s great to have someone like that when you get stuck with all the bad luck and your name is donald duck.
in paul murry’s comics he was…. he sure was something. i think he was too much actually LOL. these are fun comics, but I’m not a fan of him and jose hating each other. this panchito lacks gentleness.i’m not very familiar with dutch comics, but I love the prospect of panchito as a lone cow-boy. it fits him, fills a role no one else really had in duck comics, and gives him some lore he lacked compared with jose.later appearances of panchito in animation (house of mouse, roadster racers, minnie bow toons, and ducktales 2017) are….super bland and boring imo.house of mouse has the merit of giving us “my name is panchito”- i find it genuinely cute and fun and I’ll take all the lore I can get- plus “panchito romero miguel junipero …….” stuck in later appearances, I find that sweet! (in roadster racers and legend of the three caballeros)in minnie bow toons he has a very short appearance, but he’s accompanied by a white rooster fans latched on, and I really want panchito to have a supporting cast like donald and jose have, so I appreciate this short cameo nonetheless (now as to who is that white rooster….. it’s My Headcanon Zone lol i like to think it’s his twin bro)but apart from this all these later appearances tend to lump him with jose and make them a unit instead of letting them be character of their own. i dislike the lack of individuality, i dislike them portrayed as ~donald’s exotic friends~, and I was beyond disappointed that ducktales perpetuated that trend. that DT episode also felt very mean to donald, when you know, caballeros appearances tend to be when donald catches a break. and god knows DT donald needs a break. (HoM also failed this and it sucks)
in legend of the three caballeros he’s his very own character, and it’s a very different take from what panchito has been so far, but personally I love him as the dumb muscle. LOTTC did a great job establishing distinct roles to all three caballeros, and made them all unique and loveable. I was taken aback by him being a cuckoolander at first, but it works, and I love him. jaime camil’s performance was also great and refreshing!
on that topic, I also like carlos alazraqui’s performance as panchito. I guess he’s trying to sound like joaquin garay while jaime camil did his own thing, and both takes are valid in my opinion. alazraqui still dubs panchito in parks, where in addition to gran fiesta tour, panchito was part of great shows such as max live in DLP, party gras in TDL, and mickey’s most merriest celebration in MK. panchito in parks is suuuper cute, super fluffy, and I had amazing interactions everytime I met him, 10/10 cutie (i’m seeing him and jose again in september and i’m super excited!)
as for shipping, my big otp is jose/donald/panchito together! seeing jose/panchito, jose/donald or donald/panchito while excluding the third caballero always makes me sad haha. they are birds of a feather!! three gay caballeros! it says so in the song!! don’t separate them! ;_;panchito brings joy and color into donald’s life, like I said before donald is able to catch a rare deserved break from his misfortune and mistreatment from scrooge/daisy/gladstone/the entirety of duckburg when he’s with jose and panchito…and in my opinion panchito is the driving force of the trio, taking initiative and bringing enthusiasm… it’s something donald needs imo and it can give donald perspective on tackling life more positively when he feels depressed.with jose i always think their relationship must have had a rough start (maybe influenced by early comics lol) because I picture panchito as a very lawful person and jose as a conman. add in LOTTC’s characterization of panchito as being simple minded and you get a perfect victim for jose’s schemes. but panch can also acts as the brakes jose needs when he goes too far, and they are both cheery people with a positive outlook on life, they share hobbies like singing and making music, and both love donald so, despite their differences I imagine them ending up with a deep bond ;v;
panchito/clara is. gnhn hetero nonsense. boy chicken and girl chicken??? ok they must be in love. that’s all their is to it. the one comic where they meet as him being super oblivious and cruel to her, so ????? meh.
oh my god i wrote a wall of text i’m so sorry anyways ! i love one chicken !
#Anonymous#reply7chi#i need more practice drawing panchito! i should draw something similar i did with jose for his birthday

woodland creatures - day 4 (orlando pt. 2)
was i excited to be on tour? yes. was i also super nervous about going on tour before leaving? also yes.
was i excited to go to disney springs? Y E S. was it the one thing i knew i could look forward to even if i sucked at every fucking show???
B I G Y E S.
my poor bandmates. i said the night before, “hey, i just realized, we never actually really discussed going to disney springs.” and they were like, “yeah.”
but! we went anyway!!! bless their hearts!!!
the morning after staying up and partying was rough. i had the NASTIEST hangover. my headache was so severe that i couldn’t even fall back asleep following 5 hours of rest. i popped some advil and tried to get a couple more hours in but it was impossible, so i just got up and showered. the guys brought back panera for lunch, and then once everyone was ready we were off to disney springs. i could tell everyone was worried it was gonna be lame, i felt it in the air lmao. i was also worried i was leading them to a miserable afternoon in the hot florida weather. but i figured if they hated it we could always leave.
we pull up to disney springs and there is some semblance of what i remembered from the last time i was there but also a lot that i DID NOT recognize. the parking garages were definitely new. they had sensors over each parking spot that could indicate whether or not a car was in the spot, and it would update an LED screen outside the entrance with how many spots were available on each floor. i thought that was really cool. there were gardens on the sides of the garages too. we then go up some stairs and down an escalator to get in, and hooooly shit i was blown away. there was a brand new area that had a fountain and all of the shops looked reminiscent of spanish architecture. it was so beautiful.
we got group pictures in front of the fountain, and then i decided to get a happy birthday pin from guest relations lmfao. i wanted to see if i could get any free shit by just waltzing around with a birthday pin on. i was unsuccessful but i had never been in or near disney on my birthday anyways so i just rolled with it. we started to the right and went to world of disney, marketplace co-op, the lego store and the pin trading shop.
i was completely overwhelmed by how big all of the stores were. there was so much cool shit. i really thought i would have an easy time abstaining from spending money, since my sister was literally just there and got me the one thing i wanted, but i did NOT. at world of disney i bought ANOTHER pair of minnie ears, the rose gold sparkly ones lmfao. not usually my style, but there weren’t any others i was crazy about. joe got a shirt and ryan bought some stuff for his girlfriend christina. i wanted clothes but i decided to wait to see if there might be better merchandise elsewhere.
we moved on to marketplace co-op and i immediately found a disney world long sleeve shirt i loved so i grabbed that. i alsoooo balled out and got a print of the most beautiful mulan painting i have ever seen. it was a depiction of one of my favorite parts in the movie, when she is singing reflection and chops off her fuckin hair, but in the garden instead of the shrine. that movie means very very much to me as an asian american!!! besides that i got emperor’s new groove patches later on in the afternoon and that was all i spent my money on. $138 later. yeesh.
my friends eton and jeri who came to the show the night before wanted to meet up for food and drinks, so i walked over to frontera cucina. i thought maybe my bandmates might join us but they weren’t hungry and it was more of a sit down place, so we parted ways for an hour. i hadn’t seen eton and jeri since they moved down to orlando in january, holy shit. it was so good to hang out with them. we caught up and enjoyed some really good lunch. i ordered a gin and tonic that had a whole ass cucumber peel wrapped around the glass and pork belly tacos. i bugged out bad because eton wouldn’t let me pay nor could i get his venmo from jeremiah to cover my portion. it was so sweet of them to treat me. i met them through jeremiah, i always tell him how much i love his friends and how they’ve become my friends the more we all hang out together. it sucks our time was so damn brief but i’m just glad i got to see them.
after late lunch i met back up with everyone and we walked around a little longer, but i mistakenly let us stay a little later and lost track of time. it was just about time to start heading over to hail the sun. i felt really bad because people mentioned wanting to go swimming or take a nap and i effectively robbed everyone of any allotted leisure activity time by wanting to gallavant around more. i was definitely just as wiped as everyone, but i hadn’t been back to disney in forever. we hurried back to the van and drove back to kissimmee.
pulses. had been grilling and chillin at the airbnb all day, so they were ready for the gig when we got back. we got back just in time to leave when they did, like 15 minutes before. we both hopped in our respective vehicles and we were off. they always dropped snails in the tour chat and called us with snails ahead because we were slow with the van lmfao but it’s not MY FAULT the shit is SO HUGE damnit. i drove the van to the gig with josef, jaime and kris while ryan and santino stayed home.
it’s interesting to go to a show in another state, it does feel pretty weird to go somewhere unfamiliar, but it really does feel the same as attending a show at home. people really are pretty much the same everywhere else, just different geographical locations and climates. the gig was really good but the venue was SO SMALL. too small. i like the soundbar but i might like it better if you didn’t have to wade your way through a crowd of swamp ass to get to the bathrooms alllll the way on the other side of the venue opposite of the entrance. plus, it got so packed that it was really difficult to be near the stage, let alone inside the building. for most of the show the 10 of us camped out in a really great spot near the bathrooms that wasn’t getting too much traffic and had its own bar so we stayed there.
we were at the show where sergio broke his headstock. i don’t think i’ve ever seen a show where sergio stands still the entire time, in the dozens of times i’ve seen him play. he was so close to that monitor/the ceiling but i didn’t suspect his guitar was going to break. i completely missed it because i was looking down at my phone (womp) but i heard everyone audibly gasp. that sucks dude. i think that was the only bummer the whole show though besides the heat and some sloppy drunks. pulses. are friends with zach garren so he was hanging out near us here and there throughout the night. daisy came to the gig so she came and found us, we hung out for a good portion of the show, too! it was a really good chance to talk more too after the gig the night before. she told us a lot about what the florida scene is like. we told her it’s infinitely better than the tri-state area LMAO. at least like, people show up to shows and STAY on a monday night which is insane. and then joseph arrington is a friend of ours so he said hi a couple times during the gig, afterwards him and i talked more when it was quieter.
it is one of the greatest honors in my entire life that joseph arrington sees me as a homie. writing this under the presumption he’s never gonna see this lmao, but i have to pinch myself sometimes. we’ve been friends since we played the last ALLB tour september 2017. i introduced myself and mentioned that we had opened for sianvar’s 2016 tour at webster hall and he actually remembered us. ryan also introduced himself as one of his patreon donors and they talked for like 45 minutes. that show he asked for a CD (and it was years in waiting our older album too yikes lol there’s bangers on there but it doesn’t sound like us anymore) and he messaged me later that night like, “we’re listening in the van right now, you’re a great singer”. we’ve hung out at gigs a couple more times, whether we played together or either ryan or i went to go see him play. the fact he considers us peers is one of the most validating things i have. i’ve learned a lot of helpful insight from him. i have tremendous respect for him and couldn’t be more grateful that he actually likes us as musicians and as people.
all of the bands of course were awesome, i couldn’t stand the heat enough to be inside for every single hail the sun song but i caught most of their set. it’s pretty insane to see them blow up like they have. they deserve it. and i think donovan is one of the best vocalists i’ve ever heard. that whole camp of blue swan musicians are just so talented.
josef, jaime and kris graciously waited outside for me to finish talking to joe arrington, and during that time josef actually caught will swan outside. he said he had the chance to tell will swan deathstar is the reason he plays music and it made him very happy to do so. it had happened like a little bit before i came back outside. we then got lost trying to find the van and hilariously passed the actual entrance to the parking garage like 3 times. it was literally across the street and i led them around the block twice.
we went back to the airbnb for one more swim and we almost had another super late night legit just talking to pulses. kris sat outside editing photos while some of the guys swam, some of us just sat with our feet in the pool. when we got back ryan and santino had been sleeping and i think i maybe saw santino get up once to go to the bathroom. i did really want to go to sleep but ughhhhh i also thought to myself, i can sleep when i get home from tour. i get really bad FOMO every day of my life. so we stayed up and we talked about all things dance gavin dance, blue swan, our local scene, and bein in a band. it’s insane how alike we all are in our way of thinking. i also find it hard to open up to other bands though because it seems like no one else sees playing music and trying to grow a band the way we do. i just wanted to eat up any time i could bonding with pulses., taylor and tyler. thankfully we weren’t up until 4 am again but legit any time up spending time with all of my friends was worth it.

All the disney couple asks for you and Arno? :3
Sorry, this took so long! Wanted to wait to do it on pc rather than mobile y’know?
Eugene and Rapunzel: Did you and your f/o get along at first? Yes because we had to lol. We warmed up to each other after a while obviously.
Kristoff and Anna: What do you and your f/o do when it snows? I like to stay inside all day because I don’t like cold weather. Arno doesn’t mind being outside though so sometimes he drags me outside with him.
Shang and Mulan: Who is more protective/defensive of the other? Arno is a bit more defensive. I can’t blame him though because he lost Elise.
Simba and Nala: How long have you and your f/o been friends? Well, we were friends for like two months before he asked me out.
Beast and Belle: What is a book you and your f/o would enjoy reading together? I’m not sure tbh. We both enjoy reading so there would be too many to choose from.
Aladdin and Jasmine: Which places would you and your f/o like to travel to most? Arno and I only travel for missions it seems like. I wouldn’t mind taking Arno to America though.
Eric and Ariel: Have you and your f/o gone on a romantic boat ride before? We haven’t had the chance to really.
Naveen and Tiana: Which of you is the breadwinner of the household? We both are since we do pretty much the same job.
Quasimodo and Madeline: What is something one of you likes most about the other’s personality? I like that he’s determined when it comes to a goal. Arno likes how I don’t give up on him.
Philip and Aurora: What are you and your f/o’s favorite colors? Arno likes blue and red whereas I like blue and pink.
John and Pocahontas: When was the longest you and your f/o were apart? Arno and I were apart for a month and a half before because of our missions.
Hans and Anna: Has there been an instance where one of you kept something important a secret from the other? We’re pretty good when it comes to communication between each other.
Pacha and Chicha: How many kids would you and your f/o like to have? Well, we adopted Leon and I think he’s more than we’ll ever need.
Carl and Ellie: What sorts of pictures would you and your f/o put in a scrapbook together? Vacation pictures, holidays, maybe even some of us trying to dance.
Woody and Bo Peep: Have you or your f/o ever been too embarrassed to show each other affection in front of someone else? I’m really shy so it makes it harder for me to show affection in front of other people. Arno on the other hand, not really.
Buzz and Jessie: Who fell in love first, and were they the first to confess? I was the first one to fall in love first but Arno was the first to confess.
Roger and Anita: What kinds of pets would you and your f/o like to adopt? Arno probably wouldn’t mind having a cat. I want all sorts of animals lol.
Ray and Evangeline: Do you and your f/o like to go stargazing? Yeah, sometimes we do.
Thomas O'Malley and Duchess: What was it like introducing your f/o to your loved ones/being introduced to your f/o’s loved ones? Arno doesn’t have any family left so it’s just me and him.
Milo and Kida: Have you and your f/o come up with a secret language or way of communicating just for the two of you? We don’t really have a secret language. We’ll communicate with hand gestures though.
Hercules and Meg: What was a sacrifice you or your f/o have made for the other? Arno had to let go of Elise. It was really hard for him but I helped him get through it.
Kovu and Kiara: Has anyone ever tried to get between you and your f/o? Not really. Sometimes we get split up because of missions.
Bambi and Faline: What were your first impressions of each other? When I first met Arno, I just thought “okay wow he’s a master assassin.” While Arno just saw me as a newbie.
Tramp and Lady: How different are the places you and your f/o came from? Very different. We are from two different countries after all.
Pongo and Perdita: How would either of you react to discovering you’ll be having kids? Arno would be surprised (but happy) and I’d probably freak out with anxiety.
Florian and Snow White: What is a song you and your f/o would enjoy singing together? I’m not sure because Arno isn’t much of a singer.
Henri and Cinderella: Do either of you like to dance together? We like to dance from time to time even though I’m no good at it.
Jaq and Mary: What’s something one of you has done in an attempt to impress the other? I’ve tried cooking a meal I’ve never done before and it was kind of a disaster.
Robin Hood and Maid Marian: How do you remind each other that you love each other? I always tell him first thing in the morning and at the end of the day. I also hold his hand whenever I can. Arno will rub circles on my shoulder with his thumb if he thinks I need comfort.
Bernard and Bianca: Who’s the shyer one in the relationship? Ha. me without a doubt.
Bert and Mary Poppins: Who’s the more goofy one in the relationship? Again, me without a doubt.
Tarzan and Jane: Where do the two of you go to get away from the rest of the world? There’s a secret room in the Cafe that we go to enjoy ourselves.
Donald and Daisy: How do you calm each other down? Arno will pull me to the side to let me know everything is alright. I will coax him with words as best as I can and when the day is just about done, I’ll give him a rub down if he wants it.
Mickey and Minnie: Do you like to wear matching outfits? Not really. We have our own assassin outfits which are close enough I guess.
BONUS
Oswald and Ortensia: Do you and your f/o like to brag about each other to others? We’re not much of the bragging type. We also like to keep our relationship on the down low.

11 Questions
I was tagged by both @jiyamarrii & @chasethesun18 to do this, so I’ll be answering 22 questions. But I love these things so I’m totally okay with it LOL. Anyway, let’s get started!
Laura’s Questions
1. Marvel or DC? TV-Verse or Film-Verse? Why? — The easy answer to this question is that I like all superhero stuff. I tend to watch more Marvel, but I’m a big fan of both. MCU? Yes please. Smallville? Sign me up. I haven’t watched the Marvel Netflix shows yet, but I really want to. Cloak and Dagger on Freeform is pretty good so far! I watched the first two seasons of Arrow and most of the Flash, but since the CW added all the other DC shows to their programming, I’ve been a little overwhelmed, but they’re still good! So yeah, long story short, I like it all :)
2. I’m looking for new TV shows to watch. Recommend me a show and tell me why you think I’d like it. — I can’t remember if you’ve watched Gilmore Girls or not, but I recommend it to everyone who wants something funny and heartwarming, but heartbreaking sometimes, too. Lorelai is my SPIRIT ANIMAL. Otherwise, I recommend Lost in Space on Netflix if you’re into Sci-Fi stuff (it’s also funny, and the characters are amazing). One Tree Hill is amazing if you’re into soapy teen dramas (like 90210 or Gossip Girl). The awesome thing about OTH though, is that it’s obviously drama, but it deals with other serious topics and it isn’t bitchy like GG. The characters are all different in their own way, and it’s my favorite teen drama show of all time.
3. Watch a random episode of Timeless. Tell me your opinions on the episode and I’ll try to guess which episode you watched. — Okay, so I know each episode like the back of my hand, so let’s go. It’s my second favorite episode of the entire show. The music is A+. (You’ve probably already guessed it by now lolol.) It has one of my top 5 favorite Lucy outfits. I’ve seen this episode so many times I’m pretty sure I can almost recite it word for word (and I’m not sorry about that).
4. Do you have a skin care routine? If yes, what is it? — Not really. I don’t use much on my skin to tell you the truth. I use the St. Ives Blackhead Clearing green tea scrub every other day, and once in a while I’ll use a Biore charcoal pore strip. Other than that I don’t use anything.
5. What are your favorite pair of shoes? Why? — This might sound completely childish, but I LOVE my shoes that have daisies on them. I got them at Payless, and they’re Minnie Mouse brand, but they’re black with little daisies printed on them and I love them so much. I need a new pair soon because they’re a few years old and they’re worn, but I love them to death.
6. What is your phone wallpaper? What is your desktop wallpaper? — My lock screen on my phone is a picture I found on Google Images of Timeless. It’s blue and has the Time Team and the Timeless logo with a cloud. My home screen on my phone is a cotton candy-esque background. My desktop wallpaper is the Timeless edit I made with the Taylor lyric “Time won’t fly, it’s like I’m paralyzed by it.”
7. If you could have dinner with one person, dead, alive, or fictional, who would it be and why? — I really want to say Lorelai Gilmore (or anyone from Gilmore Girls, honestly..) for this one. Eating at Luke’s Diner? Yes. Please. I’m all in.
8. What’s your favorite smell? Why? — This is very oddly specific, but I have this notebook that I got for Christmas last year. And every book/notebook/paper smells good, but THIS NOTEBOOK. It’s my favorite kind of paper smell. I know, it’s weird, but it’s amazing. Otherwise I love lemon, vanilla, and peppermint scents and the smell of the grill when we grill hamburgers/hot dogs.
9. Do you have any tattoos? If yes, what are they? Do you regret any of them? — I do not have any tattoos, but I want to get one in the near future.
10. What is your horoscope for today? — Jun 11, 2018 - You enjoy caring for others and you intervene regularly in their lives to guide them. Ironically, today you're the one who needs advice. You'll probably need to get away from it all in order to get a clear view of your own life, Leo. You could even decide to make the necessary arrangements for a trip abroad.
11. Beards: Yes or No? — UM YES.
(OBVIOUSLY I NEEDED TO INCLUDE WYATT’S MAGICAL BEARD)
I also love Xavier from No Tomorrow, Hugh Jackman, and John Krasinski. Their beards are also pretty magical.
Ryan’s Questions
1. If a book becomes a movie do you read it or watch it first? — Most of the time I don’t realize a movie was a book until after I see it. And then I always end up liking the movie better. (IE the Twilight saga) I always try to read the book first, but sometimes I’ll just watch the movie.
2. What’s your favorite Disney movie? — OOH OKAY LET’S GO. Tangled is my favorite all-animated Disney movie. Meet the Robinsons comes at a second. Enchanted is my all-time favorite Disney movie EVER. My Favorite Martian is my favorite all-non-animated Disney movie. Also The Princess Diaries comes at a close second.
3. If you could have one superpower what would it be? — If I got to choose I would want to have telekinesis. Matilda has solidified that dream LOL.
4. Do you believe in soul mates? — I’m not sure, to tell you the truth. I don’t like to think that there’s only ONE person in the entire world that I’m meant to be with, and that they’re my other half. I mean, it’s a nice concept, but also I feel like I would just be too worried that I won’t ever meet my soulmate because it could literally be anyone in the entire universe. I’m meh on the subject.
5. What’s your happiest memory? — Honestly I think my most happy memories are when I was really little, like in early elementary school? Like, ages 5-11 is when I think I was most happy. And don’t get me wrong, I’m really happy now and whatever, but I have more responsibility now and I was more carefree back then. One memory that sticks out is Christmas of 2010. I got my DSi XL and I was at my grandparents house with all of my cousins. We played around on the DS and took pictures, and I still have them saved on it. The very first picture I ever took on it. It was just such a happy time for me, and I love thinking back on it.
6. Most embarrassing memory? — I threw up in front of my entire classroom in 4th grade. It was terrible. And it happened so long ago, but I still can’t get over the fact that there are people my age who saw me throw up on the floor of our classroom. Nope. Let me go hide forever LOL.
7. Where do you see yourself in five years? — I don’t really like to plan that far ahead into the future, but in five years I’d like to be moved out of my parents’ house and working on getting my book published. (I’m still working on writing it at the moment, so hopefully I’ll be done with it by then and in the process of finding it a home.)
8. Who is/has been the most influential person in your life? — I have to go with my parents on this one. But only personality-wise. I’m not interested in what my parents do for a living, but I try to model my work-ethic and values after them. I’ve obviously grown my own personal tastes, but I see more of myself in them every day and I’m very proud of that.
9. If you could time travel to the start of this year and tell yourself something what would you tell yourself? — You won’t have everything figured out yet, and that’s okay. You’ll be pressured, but take things at your own pace. There’s nothing wrong with taking time to figure things out, no matter what everyone is telling you. You’ll get to where you want to be, you just have to take your time, and set your own pace.
10. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done? — Wow, okay, this is going to sound lame. Are y’all ready? I stole a toy camera from Goodwill when I was, like, 6. I wanted it but I didn’t think my dad would let me, so I hid it in my coat pocket and never told anyone. That was literally the first thing that came to mind..
11. What’s your favorite thing about yourself? — I love that I don’t waver in my enjoyment of things. My sister mainly, always makes fun of me for wearing what I wear, for reading, and for listening to the kind of music that I listen to, but I’m very proud of all of those things and I don’t let it bother me. Yeah, it gets annoying when she tells me my taste in music sucks, but I will very happily listen to Two Weeks Late by Ashley Monroe at a high volume and sing along proudly. No shame. As Jessica Day so proudly states, “I break for birds! I rock a lot of polka-dots. I have touched glitter in the past twenty-four hours. I spend my entire day talking to children. And I find it fundamentally strange that you’re not a dessert person. That’s just weird and it freaks me out. And I’m sorry I don’t like Murphy Brown, and I hate your pantsuit; I wish it had ribbons on it or something to just make it slightly cuter. And that doesn’t mean I‘m not smart and tough and strong.”
Thanks for the tag, guys! This was fun :)

Wow, I totally forgot to ask you: What other AU's do you have?
Well, since you asked… *cracks knuckles*
(Ok first before I start I am SO SORRY this response took me like, a month. Thanks so much for waiting!)
This person is asking specifically about au’s I have for Mickey and Minnie. My Sonic au’s are a different post entirely! :D
I have three main mice au’s that I regularly visit. My sister Marian, or @marian-ette , is my brainstorming partner in crime.
The oldest of the mice au’s is my Nutcracker Verse. This au started out in 2012 as basically a recasting of the “Barbie in The Nutcracker” movie (I honestly love that movie and still watch it every holiday season for nostalgia). Then over several years it became ‘losely inspired’ by that movie and took on a life of its own. I still revisit it just for fun every December. Several REALLY old drawings based on this AU are in my DeviantArt gallery. Here’s the link to one of them plus a few others I haven’t shared before (these are really really old fyi. There are lots more but these are some of the best)
https://shannonallaround.deviantart.com/art/Sweep-you-off-your-feet-425877421
The second au is what I call the Candyland Verse. As you can probably guess, this au is inspired by the Candyland board game.
In the 1950s, Mickey works as a storekeeper and apprentice to Ludwig Van Drake, an incredibly gifted/famous candy-maker (and Mickey’s basically-adopted-uncle). One day, Ludwig is missing from his candy lab, which has been trashed. Mickey goes in to investigate… and through some crazy magic ends up in Candyland. He meets many friends in this new world, but as he searches for Ludwig, things may be less sweet and far more sticky than they seem… trouble is brewing in the Molasses Bog.
I haven’t shared ANY pictures from this au anywhere yet so here are the first glimpses of the Candyland Verse! It’s a much newer verse so even though it’s extremely developed in my head I don’t have very much art for it yet.
The third au is called the Sandman Verse.
Goofy is the Sandman and Mickey is one of his many many assistants. Each person has a sandman which is assigned to them during their lifetime whom crafts dreams for them. Mickey has been assigned to Minnie since she was born. One particular night, Minnie’s dream malfunctions, becoming a nightmare (something that, strangely, has been happening to more and more people’s dreams recently…) When the usual protocol fails, Mickey is forced to follow emergency procedure and enter the dream himself in order to shut it down. He defeats the nightmare and is about to leave Minnie’s mind when suddenly, Minnie talks to him. This is normally not possible as dreams operate in a person’s subconscious, and it is then that Mickey realizes Minnie is a lucid dreamer.
I haven’t shared any drawings for this au before either, so here is the first peek! It is also very new and so is sadly lacking in the art department too.
Mickey and Minnie are the two main protagonists of all these au’s. All of the sensational six are there two plus other friends from their world (i.e. Panchito & Jose) as well as Oswald and Ortensia.
In addition to these three main au’s, my sister and I regularly indulge in an incredibly fun activity we call “casting”. Basically, we take our favorite old movies (mostly live action) and re-cast them with the characters of Mickey’s world. Sometimes we add extra roles or alter characters slightly to make everyone fit nicely. The only au that has characters that aren’t in Mickey’s world is The Apple Dumpling Gang— we use the three main rabbit children from Disney’s animated Robin Hood for the orphans in that one. We figured it worked with the same logic as Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
Casting is SO. FUN. Here’s a list of some of the movies we’ve cast so far!
Summer Stock
Singing in the Rain
The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938, starring Errol Flynn)
The Mark of Zorro (1940, starring Tyrone Power)
The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966, starring Don Knotts)
That Darn Cat (1965, starring Hayley Mills)
The Apple Dumpling Gang
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (Dreamworks)
Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper
National Treasure
Next on the list: The Seahawk (w/ Errol Flynn) and Disney’s animated Atlantis
The asker of this question also prompted the creation of a new au called the Boxing Verse not too long ago. I’m gonna share a lot more detail about what happens in this one:
Minnie Mouse is training beside her best friend Daisy as a boxer under veteran boxer Donald Duck. Mickey is a janitor at the venue who doesn’t box but is OBSESSED with the sport. He, of course, is totally fascinated by Minnie who has the opposite of a typical boxer’s personality and body type and yet is also a complete boss in the ring. Donald used to be a boxer, but one fateful day against his biggest rival Gladstone Gander, he lost his temper while attempting to defend Daisy’s honor and beat Gladstone to a pulp. Gladstone then used this to slander Donald’s reputation. Donald felt so dang bad about the whole thing (especially the fact that he thinks he embarrassed Daisy) that he retreated from the competitor’s ring and now only teaches. Pete was Gladstone’s sponsor and has it out for Donald. He plans to make full use of the opportunity Minnie presents having been trained by him…
Anyway, there’s the very-long rundown of my mice au’s!

Ky + Disney World: a magical journey or whatever?
someone requested fewer posts so y’all get one giant summary of my trip. mmmyup. gonna be image heavy as FUCK. sorry ‘bout that. we’ll go park-by-park, i’ll try to be as brief as possible! click the cut for the deets and junk!
Day 1: Hollywood Studios
This is where I dressed up as Mickey Mouse. It was the day we focused the most on my brother cause most of the Star Wars stuff is here. I kinda mentioned the storm trooper story, but in detail:
We had spent all day tracking down storm troopers cause they were basically the only face characters my brother wanted to see. But they were closed to taking pictures. Plus they kept slipping away from us anyway.
So eventually we were hanging around the Star Wars area and we happened to run into them. And mom asked “can you please take a picture with my son now?” So one of the Storm Troopers grabs my brother by the shoulder and walks off with him and mom’s like freeeaking out and like they take him to this wall and are like interrogating him like “you’re not with the resistance are you?” I’m recording and all that jazz and eventually they turn to me and are like “you with the camera, get over here” (so MY VIDEO actually goes to black lmao but u can still hear them talking to us). It was a blast; later on we were in line to meet Chewey and they saw us and were like “I’m WATCHING you.”
Meeting Mickey and Minnie was a blast. Minnie was absolutely adorable I LOVED her dress and she was bashful and friendly and gave lots of hugs. Mickey on the other hand was bold but still friendly, and the best part was even though he wasn’t matching my outfit, on my way out? He stopped me, gestured out my outfit, and gave me the okay hand. It. Was. The GREATEST.
Cute little side note... they’re dressed from movies they apparently directed and produced for each other. CHECK IT OUT!
ALSOS. We ate at the 50′s place here. IT. WAS. AMAZING. Everyone was RIDICULOUSLY in character; if you were on your phone they told you to “get off the walkie talkie, this is family time!” and if you had your elbows off the table they would get on you for that too, but like... it was still fun? Three strikes and you have to get up and sing a song. None of us got three strikes but the guy at the table next to us did. He had to sing and dance “I’m a little teapot” and it was honestly the highlight of my day. xD Oh and no desert if you don’t finish your plate. The catch? THEY SERVE HUGE-ASS PORTIONS. Seriously I ordered the fried chicken and asked for all dark meat? TWO LEGS AND TWO THIGHS, A SERVING OF POTATOES AND A SERVING OF CORN OK?????? I cleaned my plate tho 83. Mama was proud of me.
Day 2: Animal Kingdom
Yo Animal Kingdom was lit as FUCK. Literally the Tree of Life was THE COOLEST SHIT. And there were PEOPLE DANCING in each area, that was pretty tight too!
We went to the Tusker House which was awesome cause Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy were all there and they went to EVERY table for pictures and autographs. (Awesome cause I didn’t have to hunt down Goofy!) There was this ADORABLE moment where Daisy walked by Donald and blew him a kiss. Seriously the cutest thing I saw the whole trip.
(I seriously can’t find my Donald picture. Uhhhh good thing I don’t like him that much??? Oops????)
Also, we saw the River of Light but... I was passed out for most of it uh... yeah OTL.
Day 3: Epcot
Let me just say that I ADORED Epcot. And it was where I met my favorite princess so I can’t really complain there. I really loved going through all the countries and seeing all the authentic merch, although it was kind of a :’c that there wasn’t more merch of each princess ya? That aside, let’s talk about Jasmine!
Definitely my favorite encounter, and not just because she’s my favorite princess, but because she was SO interactive. She IMMEDIATELY recognized that I was dressed at her; “You look like me!” But then right after, she noticed my Rajah Tsum Tsum, and she FREAKED OUT. She was like, “YOU HAVE A LITTLE RAJAH!” and she asked me if it was actually Rajah or just a tiger, and I assured her it was a Disney Authentic Rajah. She asked where I got it, I told her it was the last Rajah on Amazon, and you can see her squeezing it and her little “aw” face, like she freaked out over Rajah for quite a bit. At a point, she touched my headband and said “I can see you have more jewels on your head than me; you must’ve gone to the Cave of Wonders!” I thought that was the cutest. The BEST part though, was when mom came up. She was wearing a red top, so Jasmine noted that mom “look[ed] like me when I dressed up for Jafar!” and so I said, “we don’t talk about when you dressed up for Jafar.” So she leaned in and whispered, “Well. Aladdin likes to talk about it sometimes.” And I just gaped at her. At which point she added, presumably hoping to make it better, “Only on special occasions, though!” And I just... lost it. And that was the note we ended on lmaO.
Day 4: Magic Kingdom
Now okay. Magic Kingdom is DEFINITELY where we did and saw the most. I mean we ACTUALLY stayed all day and I mean it’s Magic freaking Kingdom. There was so much to do and see I don’t even know where to start.
(Okay well. Dad made this decision for me since he has some of the pictures and he just HECKING GOT ON THE ROAD TO ARKANSAS WITHOUT TELLING ME. So yeah... some of the things we won’t have pictures of for now. That’s okay there’s a LOT of MK content.)
First thing: THE MOTHER HECKING PARADES. They did these multiple times per day--I actually got to see the Vamos! one twice. (That song has been stuck in my head, actually... watch with caution.) Seriously, they’re SO fun to watch--it’s the only time I remember hearing Mickey and the Gang talk, actually...
TIANAAAA, she was great, I almost cried tbh, seeing her there. If only they had merch to match amirite. She was so sweet, she pointed out that I was wearing green like her and flowers like her and when I told her I dressed up like her on purpose she gave me a HIGH FIVE!
I also got to meet Rapunzel, since she was in the same room as Tiana. She was a sweetie pie, she saw my first visit button and was like “that reminds me of my first visit to MY kingdom” and invited me to go see the floating lanterns, which I equated to the fireworks show at the end of the night. (Which was GLORIOUS by the way.)
Other relevant things: we got to eat at Tony’s. The food was hecking delicious and there were pictures of Lady and Tramp EVERYWHERE. Tony was around too but I forgot to take a picture. -sob- They were playing the movie in the waiting area tho that was cute.
Bonus Round: Disney Springs
Basically my brother didn’t get this jacket he wanted so we hunted it down at the shopping center. But we took some cool pictures, look!
Ok but: WHAT DID YOU BUY???
Yeah you’re probably wondering that, especially if you donated to me, right? DW DW I didn’t forget that part! So shout-out to my mom (and my dad) cause I severely underestimated how much they’d be willing to help me out. That said I STILL went flat broke, coming home with 19 bucks to my name lmaO.
. . .
WORTH IT.
Let’s get to the goods, shall we?
Pictured above:
A Tiana Birthstone Pin (yes, it’s my birthstone)
Minnie and Minnie Mouse plushies
A Disney Parks exclusive Monopoly
A Belle’s/Beast’s Mirror necklace
A Lilo Plushie
A Stitch Plushie
A Journal made to look like the original Lion King VHS packaging
A Tinkerbell that lights up green
A Jasmine ornament
A Princess Pen
A Mickey Measuring Spoon set
A Mickey Pen
A Matching Han Solo and Princess Leia T-Shirt set (for me and the bae)
A WDW Hoodie
A Mickie/WDW pair of “sweatpants” (they’re p thin tbh)
tl;dr: a damn good haul. although tbh i feel like mom’s gonna ask me to pay her back even tho she didn’t mention it earlier cause she has a habit of doing that...
THE END!
And that’s a wrap! Unless you guys wanna see the pics dad has on his phone when he’s back from his trip??? (lemmie know in the replies!) Thanks everyone for your support and interest in my first ever trip to Disney World! It really has been a lifelong dream and I actually???? Stayed healthy despite all the rain and ups and down in the weather--I’m VERY proud of myself and happy that I got to ENJOY the trip rather than trudging along and stuff. Seriously I can’t begin to express how blessed I feel. I love you guys and I’ll try to keep the dash as clean as possible so if you have more questions please send them privately!
Have a magical day!

Wine & Dine Weekend Part Three: Post Race Party

Wine & Dine Weekend Part Three: Post Race Party
Welcome to Part Three of the Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend, the character filled conclusion with the Post Race Party! Part One covered the Expo, Jay’s last-minute registration, and the 10K. Part Two followed us along the Half Marathon course as Jay ran his first RunDisney Race.
I knew when I signed Jay up for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon, I would have a hard time convincing him to go to the Post Race Party at Epcot. It wasn’t his fault he was so tired, we signed him up late and he had no time to train even if he wanted to. We went home after the race and spent most the day either sleeping or on our respective computers. The Post Race Party officially started at 10 p.m. with admission as early as 8 p.m. I have an annual pass so we go whenever we please anyway, so there was no rush. Around what I thought was half past seven I suggested we start getting ready. It was actually closer to 6:30 because I had forgotten to change the clocks when we got back. We wound up arriving at Epcot around 8:30 p.m. which turned out fine, because we didn’t realize that nothing would be open from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. It never occurred to me things would close while they swept the regular guests out of the park, because at Magic Kingdom the special event starts the moment the park closes. I assumed Epcot would be closing at 10 p.m.
Silly Chelsea.
Our first stop in Epcot was actually Guest Relations because when we went for Food and Wine in early October we found the normal, not-part-of-Food-and-Wine margarita booth missing. I wanted to know where to find my frozen margaritas! Thankfully, Guest Relations assured me the quick service location in Mexico would have them, and she was right. We made the long, slow, hobbling walk up to World Showcase and got in line at La Cantina de San Angel just before 9 p.m. and were actually ordering as Illuminations went off overhead. It was the first time in what was probably several years watching it, because if I’m in the parks that late at night I’m usually watching one of the other nighttime spectaculars. Epcot is the park I spend the least amount of time in since Duffy was chased out by the evil Daisy Duck. We realized they had closed the line off behind us and that the park was shutting down. Jay looked at me, rather grumpy since that meant the place he wanted his drink from would also be closed. I promised him we’d make it to the Rose and Crown before the night was over and then we headed towards Germany. If we had to sit around waiting until 10 p.m., we might as well do it in line for something.
My sole priority for the Post Race Party was all about the characters, not the food. We had already been to Food and Wine once and had another trip planned so as soon as we had the brochure in our hand back at the Expo, I started planning. There was only one character on the list that I had never met, so we started there: the Witch from Snow White.
When we arrived in Germany there was a small line of about ten people already formed so we jumped in line behind them and sat down. Photos from the races were finally starting to show up on My Disney Experience, so I spent my time waiting downloading those and sending them to my Mom. The Witch appeared promptly at 10 p.m. and we groaned as we got to our feet and the line moved up. It was almost our turn when the Backstage Door beside the Witch opened for several Cast Members on their way to work the Food and Wine booths, and their reactions were priceless. Clearly they didn’t know anything about the event they were working, and they were so excited to see the Witch. We were up in no time and she fussed over Duffy before we took our picture and moved on.
The party had been officially started for ten minutes and we had already met one character! We moved on towards the U.K. since I had promised Jay a Welsh Dragon from the Rose and Crown. He was moving much slower than I was, so I suggested he jump in line for our next character while I went to fetch the drink. As we passed America we saw Mickey Mouse out in his patriotic best, the same outfit I met him in on the Fourth of July. I asked Jay to hop in the extremely long line and I kept going, only to pause as I passed Japan. I saw Minnie Mouse out sporting a kimono! I called Jay as I kept walking as fast as my sore legs could carry me.
“Do you actually want to meet Mickey?”
“No, not really. We met him this morning.”
“Okay, I’ve met him in that outfit. If you don’t care about it, I think you should move over to Japan and get in line for Minnie.”
By the time I got back to him with his Welsh Dragon, (it is a good thing I don’t like that drink considering long as I had to carry it around the park without drinking it) Minnie was being pulled off for a cheese break. She was supposed to be right back, but there was some sort of wardrobe malfunction and it was about half an hour before she reappeared. We were much more patient about this than some of the others in line. One man started yelling at the Character Attendant and it took everything I had not to step in to defend her.
We were in line long enough to see Minnie switch again, but the second time was much more expedient. Minnie immediately took Duffy away from me to hold him for the photo and blew both Jay and I a bunch of kisses. She was super cute. I love meeting different versions or special versions of my favorite characters.
It was about 11:10 p.m. so our second character had taken an hour on her own, but we were still two characters in already. I felt we were doing fairly well. Jay wanted to go see one more character and leave. I kept saying I wanted to see the Adventurers Club, but he seemed to think they wouldn’t be fun. Since we were right next to Morocco and the next show started at 11:15 p.m. I convinced him to stop for just a few minutes to watch the start, and then we could keep going.
We wound up watching the entire show, and laughing our heads off.
Back in the days of Pleasure Island, the adult themed area of Downtown Disney, there was a venue known as the Adventurers Club. I’ve heard about it since I became a Jungle Cruise Skipper, but didn’t really know anything about it because everyone talks to me like I should know what it is. There’s something called a Kungaloosh, and until the Post Race Party that was pretty much all I knew. The Adventurers Club was a multi-act comedy show with different events happening in various rooms all night long. Based in a similar era to the Jungle Cruise, it is a grand organization of the world’s most daring and witty explorers. Due to the nature of Pleasure Island, they told jokes that Skippers would never get away with. Nothing graphic or crude, but lots of clever innuendo. The Kungaloosh is not only the club greeting, but a famous drink. For the better part of a year I’ve listened to the Pirate Crew (Jay, Robert, and Victoria) refer to it like I should be familiar with it. Unlike my friends, I did not grow up with frequent trips to Walt Disney World. When the Adventurers Club closed in September of 2008, I had just turned seventeen and was in my senior year of high school. The last time I had been to Disney I was fourteen, and if my mother had known what the Adventurers Club was she probably wouldn’t have taken me to see it. (Then again, she took me and two friends to the Rocky Horror Picture Show when I was sixteen, so who knows?)
So at long last, on November 5, 2017, almost ten years after the Adventurers Club closed its doors, I learned what they were all about, and I LOVE THEM. I used to frequent (and still do when I am in town) an improv show in Knoxville, and while the Adventurers Club was at least semi-scripted, it was the same kind of dynamic, quick humor. I wish I had gotten more of it on video. They taught the crowd to do the secret handshake, recite the Club Creed, and sing the song. There were three men and one woman, almost all equally funny, and I heard some jokes I never would have guessed I’d hear in a Disney park. With crowd suggestions, they did a rendition of “Old McDonald had a Farm”. We had a pig that went oink, a cow that meow and a moose that went vroom vroom. The final suggestion came from one of the Adventurers Club members, a haystack!
“A haystack doesn’t make noise!”
“Yes, they do, I used to walk past one every day on my way to school and it was always moaning.”
He proceeded to make a moaning noise like someone having a really good time. The Club President, Pamelia Perkins, quickly interrupted.
“It must have been a haunted haystack!”
“It sure was, because it was always shaking all about!”
So sure enough, we sang “Old McDonald had a haystack, ee-ay-ee-ay-oo, here a ooooooooh, there a ooooooh, here a ooooooh, there a oooooooh, everywhere an ooooooh oooh!”
I realize reading it isn’t nearly as funny, but I can’t wait to show some of the videos to my improv friends at Einstein Simplified. We walked away laughing so hard we were almost crying.
The strangest thing about the Post Race Party was instead of the usual soundtrack of World Showcase, they had a DJ playing music that reached around the world. So walking through the U.K. we saw a group of Cast Members dancing to the Cupid Shuffle. Had Jay not been so sore I would have joined them.
We made our way over to Canada where Koda and Kenai from Brother Bear were meeting. I had to make Jay watch the movie a few months ago because he had never seen it. While they’re not Duffy, I do love bears. Koda and Kenai were SO CUTE! They were dancing to music in between guest interactions. I got hug-attacked by both of them, and Koda wanted to keep Duffy.
Apparently, he belongs with other bears. We got our picture taken and I had to tell them Jay wanted a hug. This is a common occurrence; all the Disney characters always want to shake his hand until I say something. So, he got hugs from both and I got another hug from Kenai, and off we headed. We made one last planned stop by the Chocolate booth for the Nitro Almond Truffle. It was one of my favorite items from the Food and Wine Festival this year.
Our actual final stop was by the DJ booth by the Future World Fountains. As much as I love characters, and I loved the Adventurers Club, my favorite thing about this party as much was how much fun the Cast Members were having. A bunch of them were having their own dance party at the DJ Booth. A shift that late at Disney is going to be almost entirely College Program and Part Time Cast Members, and they were having the time of their life. It made me so happy.
It was about 12:40 a.m. by the time we got to the car. Staying awake for the drive home was almost more of a challenge than running both the 10K and the Half Marathon.
I love RunDisney. I love running their races, even if I don’t train for them like I should. The Wine and Dine Half Marathon is my second favorite race I’ve run, just behind the Princess Half Marathon. Especially now that Jay has the RunDisney bug, I hope to be running the Wine and Dine Two Course Challenge again next year. My only concern, as is a lot of RunDisney fans, is the ever-climbing price tag. The Challenges are over $300, and paying for two runners was over $500. That’s on top of the time I have to take off work. With my 30 by 30 plan now thrown off by the hiatus of the West Coast races, I’m not sure if it will be as much of a priority as it was.
I say that now, but we all know come registration day I’ll be signing up. I live here! At least I don’t need a hotel or transportation.
Cost: The Wine and Dine Two Course Challenge was $362.44. It included the 10K and the Half Marathon for 19.3 miles, three runners’ shirts, three medals, and a ticket to the Post Race Party. The Wine and Dine Half Marathon was $224.92. It included the Half Marathon for 13.1 miles, one shirt, one medal and a ticket to the Post Race Party.
Value: Pricey but worth it.
Duration: It’s a minimum of a three-day event if you do the Two Course Challenge because you have to pick up the bib and shirts at the Expo.
Add Ons: There’s all sorts of stuff and it changes with each race. They have VIP Runners’ Retreats and Cheer Squad for spectators.
