Day 40

Another Milestone! I didn’t really do anything super special for this one though Last one that’s like that though! I swear!

One thing I’ve never touched with Junko is her various personas that she uses to avoid her boredom, the various designs that come with them. And to get the potential disappointment out of the way this is the only pic in the whole project that I use those with. I just never had any other ideas with them and wasn’t fully sure I could even pull them off properly. 

That said I knew I should draw them at least once. So I drew all of them. Or at least the notable ones. I admittedly would not be opposed to doing something else with this concept though, just a bunch of Junko’s running around and one Mikan who is not mentally equipped to handle that amount of girlfriend. Typing that out right now has me feeling inspired, which is unfortunate because I’m writing this on Day 26 (which will be Day 27 in a few minutes), and we all know i’m not gonna let myself draw that until this pic gets posted.

If I had to say which ones were my favorite to draw in this picture, The Queen Junko was really fun to draw for the posing and expression, but my actual favorite would be Sad Mushroom Junko (are there actual names for these), her hair was really, really fun to draw and this is like the only opportunity I have to draw Sad Junko.

Also this is, such a fucking weird fun fact to put in here but it’s a Milestone so I might as well pad out the text a bit. Mikan’s reaction (which was REALLY fun to draw by the way) being described as “.exe crashing” is a jerma reference.

I do not know why, but the way he says “.exe crash” just makes me laugh, so I just like to throw the phrase in whenever I get an opportunity. 

And oh yeah, background Irumatsu. I would have thought of a way to force Maki in there as well because I ship that polycule, but I kept things simple. Junko threatened Miu, Miu makes cloning gun, boom, shenanigans ensue, most of which involves Mikan getting kissed.

God dammit i really wanna draw more of this now, fuck. I’m getting comically angry that I have to wait to do that now. This is the cloning AU now, fuck it, there's slightly more balance in the amount of non-vampire au art in this fuckin project.

VOTV Jooster AU: Mildly implied body horror doodle, but the real horror is described within in the context provided underneath the “read more”:

there’s a major event in VOTV in which (spoilers):

the sun turns. evil. if you stand under it, it forces you to stare into it and flesh just starts melting off of you, so much so that if you turn around in the game you have visible bloody footprints behind you (it also burns the landscape and melts a tree in front of the base). Bertie tears himself away and gets inside fast enough that he keeps most his skin (in the game the bits that fall off can be eaten, yummy) so no worriess (he is deeply traumatized by Everything).

I’ll preface with: this isn’t going to be as bad as the canon Nest, nor as bad as canon Andrew’s childhood but there’s a tw for assault/coercion

So like. Neil is just a good looking guy, right. We all know this, it’s canon, we love it for him (and Andrew).

I’m imagining in this au some of the major points of his upbringing are (obviously) not having his mother’s protection - at least not as much if any at all idk - and being a lower station than like half the people he’s around regularly. I think we figured Nathan is some noble that has his own land and place of operations, but I think it’s more a title the eldest Wesninskis have historically earned once they’ve proven themselves worthy and loyal. So yes Nathaniel is the son of a noble and expected to take his place as such but he’s not going to get there anytime soon until he grows strong/smart enough to take the title from Nathan. Which, clearly, he doesn’t stick around long enough to get to.

So the Moriyamas still have a considerable leash on him. Acting against or refusing anyone higher in station is very much a punishable offense, and honestly? Nothing the various nobles, etc do is worth getting punished in Nathaniel’s mind.

From the time he’s like seven? Eight? Some of the court ladies likely start commenting on his appearance (because this is the Nest equivalent and because they’re above reproach and the Moriyamas definitely don’t care enough to stop it. Doubtful Nathaniel is the only one this happens to). Bit by bit they get more and more comfortable, usually the ladies, sometimes a man or two, and eventually it’s touching, holding, ‘asking’ for kisses, threatening him as a joke they put on for each other. And Nathaniel, of course, can’t even say anything without earning harm. He’s dealt with lots of unwanted touching, he’s used to having blades pointed at him or against his skin, and at least with the nobles it’s never more than a nick or scratch. They just like scaring him. They never undress him or even try more than to get under a sleeve, but still all roaming is fair game to them over the clothes. And the most common (though not only) comment from any of them is telling him how pretty he is. How lucky he is to have his father’s looks, and how could they possibly let that go to waste? (This is the main reason Abram still thinks he’s a carbon copy of Nathan, though he’s not - he leans more toward his mother’s features, and only his father’s hair, eye color, posture, etc)

As he gets older and grows more dangerous, this starts to slow down. Partly because then he’s a lot better about staying out of sight, he’s gotten used to getting himself out of those situations earlier. Not to say it never happens. Just a ‘his reputation precedes him’ - the smarter ones know that if they go too far, if Nathaniel decides he’s had enough, he could kill them as easily as he could anyone else, and most of them know he isn’t as well trained as the Moriyamas would have liked. He’s more of a risk now and there’s others they can subject to their whims instead.

I don’t think Abram would ever get used to being called pretty, even by Andrew. It’s not a full on trigger like some other things, it just makes him severely uncomfortable and maybe even a little scared. Like a kid again. Clueless and helpless. A jolt through his body when he hears it.

There’s plenty of other things Andrew can and does call him instead, anyway.

Not the spiderverse art book restarting the dying down Hobie age discourse. With the Japanese version implying he’s a ‘young boy’(I think that’s what it was either way either way) and the book saying ‘he’s much older than miles..’(smth like that either way either way) and it’s like seriously? Again? AGAIN?

The directors said it’s up to interpretation. And the only reason(w/ the exclusion of the people thinking he’s like 30 cause that’s weird and gross, re-examine some racial biases)that people are so adamant he is or isn’t a minor is because of shipping! Whether it’s with one of the spider teens or with OCs or justifying self shipping it’s weird! It’s weird that that’s the reason people are going nuts over this shit and dying on their respective hills. And let people have their HCs holyshit.

And to reiterate: it’s not proshipping/pedoshit if someone HCs Hobie as a teen and ships them with one of the spider teens. It’s not necessarily fetishization and is not pedoshit if people HC him as a young adult and do self ships or whatever else goes on there.

It’s fandom let people fuck around. Something doesn’t have to be justified as morally wrong for you not to like it. Stop trying to force your own Head Canons, key word HEAD as in the canon in your head, onto other people.
