Why am I starting to commonly see some puritanical bullshit in form of esoteric speech? People talking about how having casual sex or having multiple partners “disrupts your own energy because many other energies entering your body will mess with yours” or how having sex with someone forms a “soul tie” and how that’s “giving a piece of yourself away”. Why the hell is purity culture and slut-shaming being repackaged as spirituality? Like, I completely get not being someone who finds casual sex appealing, but why does it have to come with the shaming of people who do?

#i’m also so over the bioessentialism that’s popping up everywhere but that’s another story #or the need to police people’s relationship and think of a thousand different insecurities within them #or how ‘traditional’ relationships are becoming more and more popular #and how many young striaght men expect their partners to perform ‘womanly duties’ and cook and clean #while so many young straight women are starting to agree that ‘men should provide’#I thought we were moving more towards equal and egalitarian partnerships and this is just sad to see #but i digress #queer #politics #spirituality #esoteric #purity culture #puritans
