Their parties also earned the reputation of the place to hook up. You and the triplets were best friends, but you were especially close with Matt. You secretly have a desire for Matt that no one knows, not even your best friends. When you saw the invitation you squealed. “f/n, we need to go shopping for dresses, right now!” And so you did, you went to every store when you found the perfect dress. A short dress with a black dress part and gold straps and trim. It was perfect, but you could only imagine Matt taking it off.

you and your friend arrived at the part around 9:00pm. The lights are on and music is blasting, even from outside. You and f/n park at the end of the 50-ish line of cars. You finally step into the party and are immediately greeted with booming music and a drink to start, you take the drink and glance around at everyone. The party had only started 30 minutes ago but people were already on the dance floor. You scanned the crowd specifically looking for one person. Matt. “Girl who are you looking for? You’ve been to these parties before, come on!” F/n yells over the loud music, yanking your arm and entering the dance floor. You started having sips out of your drink, and sat down at the kitchen island. “Hey! I’ve been looking for you for so long, where were you?” You turn around to see Matt, in a leather jacket and pants, you glance up and down at his body. You finally caught up to matt, who was significantly taller, making it easier for him to get through. “Jesus Christ, it’s like a mosh pit in there.” You laughed “that’s because it is a mosh pit.” Matt informed you. You glanced up at Matt when you heard yelling from behind, you turned around to see Nick and Chris fighting for approximately the 1989th time. “No, cause-!” Chris was cut off by Matt’s yell for them to stop. “whatever, I’m gonna go get some a drink, you guys want any?” I said in annoyance by the mosh-pit-like crowd. “nah- jinx!”Nick and Chris said at once, then continued to fight over who said “jinx” first. “I’ll come, I’ll have to protect you from the crowd or else you’ll get trampled.” Matt chuckled. I chuckled back, but what he didn’t know is that that sentence sent butterflies through my stomach.

I opened the cabinet to grab another bottle of liquor and was only a centimetre away from the bottle, even in my tippy toes. Matt was on his phone, and I didn’t want to bother him, so I just tried to get it myself. I groaned in annoyance at the fact I couldn’t grab it myself, so I climbed onto the counter. I finally caught the bottle and was about to climb down when my foot slipped and I fell, but I didn’t fall. someone caught me?

Matt. motherfucking matthew sturniolo caught me, he is my best friend but still. I was in his arms looking up into his eyes like a dumb puppy. I’m so lost in thinking about how romantic it is that he - MATTHEW STURNIOLO is in the bathroom with me, that I didn’t even think to look up. But much to my surprise Matt was staring right at my eyes. “oh-sorry. your eyes are just really pretty, whoever is your boyfriend in the future would be lucky to have you” Matt stutters, I freeze. did Matt just say, I’m pretty? “o-oh! thank you Matt” I smile blushing like a ripe-RIPE tomato. I was supposed to be writing but instead I made a punctuation marks tierlist. Here's the link I used so we can all fight about this together.

Reasons for rankings under cut

S-Tier:

Semicolon: The semicolon is an extremely underrated puncuation mark; it is versatile and attracts the readers attention.

Em dash: The em dash can be used similarly to the semicolon— but not in exactly the same manner— in that it can seperate different parts of a sentance while drawing the reader’s attention to whatever it is you are writing.

A-Tier:

Elpsis: A very versatile punciation mark that can be used to convey emotion such as confusion or anxiety, to show that part of a quote has been omitted, and yet again it grabs the reader’s attention... are you starting to see a theme here?

Exclamation point: A classic. It’s hard to go wrong with a puncuation mark that can convey so much emotion. Anger, stress, excitement, happiness, you name it!

Interrobang: Most people don’t actually know what this is called. It can also be written as !? or ?! and is used to convey both a question and an exlamation. How was I not taught this in school!?

B-Tier:

Question mark: It has it’s purpose and is certainly useful, but is slightly overused and can get boring at times. Readers tend to blow right past these, sometimes not even noticing that there was a question asked. It has it’s pros and cons. Can you really hate me for not loving it?

Colon: Useful, but kind of overused. Though, I’m a hypocrite because I’ve been using it through this whole list. (Do I really need an example if the enitre list is an example?)

Quotation marks: Amazing for writing diologue, I love this puncuation mark and I love to write dialogue. But it’s definitely one of the more common ones and can easily be sped past or forgotten entirely because of it. You might be thinking, “But if you love to write dialogue then why rank it so low?” My honest answer would be that I accidentally put it lower on the list, only noticed once I saved the file, and was too lazy to fix it. So now I’ve tried to come up with a valid reason for it to be in B-Tier.

C-Tier:

Comma: Way too overused, a semicolon or an em dash would have worked perfectly and would not have been anywhere near as repetitive.

Apostrophe: Useful for contactions and that’s about it. Not to mention the fact that contractions can be considered unprofessional in certain circumstances.

Brackets: Far inferior to parentheses (which were not on this list for some reason!?) because they can only really be used to explain part of a sentence that isn't present in a direct quotation.

D-Tier:

Heiphen: Be honest, when have you used a heiphen properly that would not have instead called for an en dash or an em dash? Heiphens are a good-for-nothing puncuation mark and I will not be apologizing. 

Slash: Only really useful when saying and/or.

Period: Overussed, basic, mid puncuation mark. I’ll admit that it’s necessary, but it’s basic af.

I’m a little behind but I wanted to do a bit of a summary of my year in fandom. In 2022 I published six fanfics. Three of them were inspired by fics by Misslilylashes, as I needed to punish her for repeatedly traumatizing me with her agonizing yet amazing writing. 

My longest work of the year was Signal Transfer, which was my submission for the DCRB. I think it turned out really fantastic, and I am super proud of it. It had 14 universes and spanned 40 years, and it had a blue Impala in it.  I am also really proud of oxygen, in which I summarized all of canon Destiel in 1500 words before fixing it, as well as Clemency, in which I gave Cas an epic speech and a lightning sword.  My MPC server has seven members, and I fucking love every single one of them. Although none of them are on tumblr wtf

I am looking forward to 2023, and I have hopefully got some good things coming. I will have a fic posting for the Dean/Cas Pinefest in February (stay tuned) and I have Lots Of Good Intentions regarding some of my WiPs. I would love to finish Wings of Clouded Sulphur, Pucking Around, and Out of Your Mouth and Under My Skin. (please jack don’t ever let me give anything such a long title ever again omfg) I intend to finish at least one of these before starting anything else. (although oneshots are a constant threat) Anyway, that’s all for me. Literally no one asked for this but because I spent the majority of last year (...and 2019, and 2018...) reading byler fics and coping with life, I thought I’d make a list of some of my absolute favorites. 

The other day I was basically starving for some byler fics and the angel @magicalfairy provided me with some of her faves so I thought I’d do the same, because I love reading, and I love all of these fics and I appreciate their writers💗 And fic writers in general, come on!

- This is a mix of long works and one-shots/short stories. - Everything is mostly fluff with a tad of angst and a lot of internalized homophobia conflict.  - Every fic is completed, except for the ones I mention that they are not. - I try my best to lay out the stories in a way that I won’t spoil you the plot but also warning you of some stuff you might don’t like. Either way, all of these fics are correctly tagged by their respective authors/owners, so read at your own risk. For better understanding, in between brackets I denote Rating, Words and quantity of Chapters. - I feel like I should clarify, none of these are narrated in the singular first person. None of that “And I told him...”, no. 

Long fics

a dream always the same (T, 99k, 35 chapters) What happened in those few weeks between the Battle of Starcourt and the Byers leaving Hawkins. Literally a satisfying and very needed fill in of season three, with a good dose of Mike’s thoughts and conflict. Mike’s characterization is specially amazing in this one. The writing style is amazing and I know the author put everything into making it historically accurate, and it was really sweet. You probably read it, it’s by the amazing sevensided here on Tumblr🧡

Spring Break (T, 120k, 14/15 chapters) The slowburn of my dreams. Lots of internalized conflict and conflict with each other. Conflict within the Party (uhh kind of), conflict with Mike and Will. Byers family has moved and the kids are visiting! Chaos. Characterization is on point. Yeah, I know it’s unfinished, but the fourteenth chapter actually serves as a pretty nice ending. 

This is where it starts (M, 148.8k, 24 chapters) Aged up characters. The Party is in college and Will disappears again, but now it’s different. Mike knows he didn’t vanish from thin air, and the discovery he and the Party end up making is pretty insane. Mystery solving/fantasy/third dimension, throw in a bit of D&D and Mike realizing some shit, and you get this marvelous fic. It’s a breath of fresh air. The world building is definitely one of the elements that stands out the most, because it’s very nicely described, it sounds like a dream and it’s completely immersive. Absolute gem of a fic. 

there’s a Starman waiting in the sky (M, 30.6k, 8 chapters) Do I need to say anything? Will is out there living his best life and Mike realizes that wow, umm, maybe his best friend looks a bit too nice with that costume... and wait, is he getting horny? It’s actually really fun and sexy.

The Evening Speaks (T, 23k, 7 chapters) In where Mike is a late-night college radio host and Will is the art student that stays up till late to catch up with Wheeler on the Mic. They flirt through songs y’all, this one is really sweet. 

heads or tails? (E, 24k, 3 chapters) Aged up characters. I know most people don’t enjoy sex in fics and with specific characters but this one is insanely well written. It’s a slowburn that commits to the tension and with every word you are grasping and anticipating their next move. I think you can find the author here on Tumblr as yousaidyes🧡

The Man of Average (M, 56.7k, 5/? chapters) Aged up characters. No but you don’t understand, the writing here is absolute gourmet. The story is exciting as well, it’s super interesting. Weirdly enough, for being very aged up characters, they are well characterized but they don’t feel like teenagers. They are naturally Mike and Will. The author really captured Mike and Will’s essence. I know, it’s unfinished and it’s updated very rarely, but this is the typical fic you can’t believe someone just posted on the internet for free. I will say though, I think it’s definitely not for everyone. Read at your own risk.

Heartstrings (E, 82.8k, 24/? chapters) Aged up characters. By the same author of The Man of Average. A collection of memories, the road to Mike and Will’s happy ever after. And fucking hell!!!!! You’ll cry and get angry, you’ll cheer for them, then you’ll want to crash their faces together because god dammit you love each other!!! But yeah, same thing here. The writing and the way the story is laid out as a nonlinear narrative is brilliant. And I also think this is one of the best Will versions I’ve read. The author might as well be the og creator of this two characters tbh. You can find the author here as mylesimeblr🧡

Sinners behind the walls (T, 1.5k, 1/1) And because I can’t stop recommending this author, a little thing of Mike tormenting himself but also being too deeply committed to Will. 

The Red Envelope series (T/E, 167K, two completed works) Something happens that Will thought was impossible and from there, pure drama and romance. Anything by this author has the potential to become your absolute favorite fic, but this series in particular is amazing. I doubt that any of you haven’t read this, but it doesn’t hurt to put it in this list. I’m pretty sure the author is serendipitous-magic on Tumblr🧡

A New Fight series (T, 91k, two completed works, one WIP) And finally the Star Wars AU that we all needed. But this isn’t your typical “Mike is Han”, “Will is Leia” and “El is Luke”, it’s way more interesting than that, and the author has appropriated the Star Wars world like no other. I’ll admit I’m not a 100% fluent in SW lore but this is amazing to me either way. This author is also on Tumblr, tea-for-one-please🧡

- Yes, most of these are (if not all), in a way, canon compliant/canonverse/canon continuation into fanon. (In a way)

kiss it better (T, 16.3k) Basically one of the best character studies of a few precise moments of Mike and Will’s relationship and feelings. 

will wonders ever cease (T, 11.3k) #i ship will and happiness. Omfg what a beautiful piece of fanfic. Will centric, this kid really deserves all the good in the world.

The Calm After the Storm (T, 1.6k) Tooth rotting fluff, boyfriends in love. Boyfriends being lazy, cuddling, love words, kisses. Boys loving each other’s company... Basically, Mike and Will in their element. What more can you ask for?

One Punch Man ship reviews bc I’m bored

WARNING: BIG ONE PUNCH MAN WEBCOMIC AND MANGA SPOILERS

GenoSai: do I even have to say it?? They compliment each other so well and are already besties. They make me so happy and I love their love. Genos literally came into Saitama’s life and brought so much new life and excitement when Saitama thought he’d never get any. Genos gives him love and appreciation all the time and never abandons him. Saitama isn’t connected to his feelings, but he cares about Genos and would do just about anything for him, to keep him safe. Genos constantly teases Saitama and Saitama grumbles and takes it with some banter, Genos is super emotional and Saitama does his best to comfort him, they fucking love shopping together and just hanging out period, they talk about the dumbest shit and somehow they still understand each other with the one brain cell they both share. It takes Genos forever to realize his feelings are deeper and Saitama has to be TOLD by their friends that he should fucking realize his feelings already. Just...I could keep going but I’ll stop! 2718873737839439/10 (let’s not talk about the age gap btw, 6 years isn’t bad and Genos is a legal adult.)

FubuSai: the stereotypical straight ship ppl gravitate to. Eh. I can see it, but at the same time I feel like they don’t completely compliment each other. Are they a hot couple? Duh. But I feel like their pride and communication issues would get in the way. 4/10

TatsuSai: hnghhhh. Someone mentioned this before, can’t remember who, but Saitama literally thinks she’s a child in canon. So that just....makes it gross. Same problems as FubuSai but worse. I’d rather see them as hesitant friends w a weird bond. 0/10

SonSai/SonicSai/idk the ship name: eh, toxic. Cant see them getting past communication issues and pride, again. Plus Sonic wants to kill his ass. Also, I just feel no romantic tension?? Even in fanfic it just falls flat for me. 3/10

MumenSai: a favorite!! Wish I saw it more, it’s very cute. Mumen is so kind and would absolutely be there to help him w self esteem and just help him be a better person period. And Saitama would have a cute little kind guy to tease and open up to. I could maybe see Mumen’s kindness getting on Saitama’s nerves when he’s in a bad mood bc Mumen almost never snaps and Saitama feels shittier, or maybe Mumen being mad at Saitama for being kinda lazy at home while Mumen is working his ass off and he’s like babe I just got home, please stop playing the fucking game and pay attention to me I have a concussion again. Prob too nitpicky on this one, heh, but 8.4/10

Genos x Sonic: wtf? As a crack ship, sure. That’s hilarious. But as a serious ship, 1.3/10 bc I could MAYBE see them bond over their love of my chemical romance or sum.

TatsuKing: eh. Indifferent on this one too. I can see them getting along and Tatsu being the mean but supportive gf in public, but a sweet gf in private. King could be like her calm oasis of video games and sweet blonde shy bf. I sway more towards ace/aro King and queer non binary Tatsu, but this is still good. 6/10

FubuPsy/Fubuki x Psykos/idk: hell yeah!! This series NEEDS more wlw ships, both for me to project onto and to cry over. Prob my fav Fubuki ship, cuz they’ve known each other since they were young and had a tenuous friendship. I didn’t use to ship it until I saw that scene in the wc after the MA arc (u know the one) but here we are. They’re big personalities so any interaction is bound to be chaotic at first, but I really think they’d work. Pride put to the side, Psykos could be someone for Fubuki to finally rely on other than the Blizzard Bunch, someone to confide in, a badass partner to fight monsters with, talk about nothing for hours with, be a super fashionable #girlboss couple with, and someone who would really see her for who she is-especially w Psykos knowledge of her from the past. Hell, Psykos might even know her better than Tatsumaki. Fubuki could be an anchor to her like she currently is in the wc, providing a quiet comfort and making her open up little by little. Would prob be toxic at first bc of the MA arc and their desire for power, but is a very good ship I think. 9/10

Speedal/Sonic x Mumen: an old fav! Sonic would have a hard time not hating Mumen at first bc he’s the picture definition of a hero, sum he hates. But hanging out with him would show him Mumen is a GOOD guy genuinely and he’d be like ohhhh shit I’m in love w this man. Mumen would thoroughly appreciate someone to make him live a little, break some rules and stand up to ppl when they talk over him. He’d DEFINITELY be upset when finding out Sonic is an assassin, but would prob be conflicted bc he knows Sonic is a good person despite that. Would prob make Sonic give up on killing for them to be together. Sucks bc of the assassin thing and bc they haven’t met in canon! So we’re not sure how they’d interact with each other, sigh. 7.4/10

Okamaitachi x Bushidrill: a very underrated ship! To be clear, I headcanon Kama as a trans woman and so does most of the fandom. Anyway, very sweet and already built as a friendship bc of their partnership under Atomic Samurai. I can’t remember who writes fic and makes art of them on tumblr but AAAAA it’s so good! Very sweet. Basically depicted Bushi as a nervous himbo who’s honest about his feelings but scared to say them and Kama as a sweet lady who’s crazy about Bushi. Very sweet. Want more of them!! 6.1/10

OneZon/Zombieman x One Shotter: never even thought of the ship till I saw @megidolan art work! Very wholesome, and from what little we know of Shotter we know he’s a sort of nervous yet strong willed guy, and Zombieman would totally help him calm down bc he’s so chill. I could see them sharing cigarettes and talking shit on heroes while cuddling u know? 7/10 only because I don’t see enough of it but very good concept.

Mumarou/Mumen x Garou: a lot of ppl are gonna hate me for this but....I don’t like it. I’ve tried! I just—idk. I’ve read so many good fics about them that make me like it a bit, but the concept is just eh. I think their relationship is, in most reps, really cliche angsty stuff. I wish I could elaborate I just...gah! Basically, there’s better ships for the both of them imo. Sorry!! 4.3/10

Sonic x Flashy/SonFlash: yes!! Prob my fav Sonic ship. They have soooo much tension, it’s almost worse than Genos’ tension w Saitama. Flashy LITERALLY poisoned Sonic so that he wouldn’t be forced to kill him at the ninja graduation. He cares. They’ll never say it out loud, but they care. They have someone who understands what they went through in each other and someone they’re both so similar to, yet so different from. Sonic is more vocal about his expressions and let’s people know it while Flashy often keeps things to himself, they could really influence the other to be more this or that. I could see a lot of comfort with these two, and not much is needed for relationship development; they already have so much unspoken between them after meeting for the first time in years. Love it. Wish I saw it more! 10/11

KingSai: wonderful! Out of the few ppl Saitama is close to, def my second fav pick for a ship for him. There’s a post saying how Saitama doesn’t cut King off when he’s going on rants about games and stuff bc he’s talking TO Saitama, not at him like Genos tends to do on accident. They’re already great buddies! Saitama could find a shy gamer man who he can talk to about manga and stuff and also a passionate bf who could break out of his shell w Saitama and be himself with no lies. King can have someone to protect him, duh, someone who finally understands his weird sense of humor, and someone to shower him in the love and kindness he deserves when Saitama is in the mood to be all out like that w his affections. Plus he’s Saitama’s anchor and brings him back down when he’s super anxious and depressed and tells him what’s up that he needs to fix without sugarcoating it. Would def have a bunch of inside jokes and go on dates that are just staying inside playing video games all night. Domestic af. 10/10

Fubuki x Mizuki: my first wlw Fubuki ship! Hard to find but very good. Mizuki is this big ball of kindness, energy, and raw power that would make Fubuki go ‘Ohhhhhhh, big pretty lady make brain go brrr.’ I could see Mizuki grounding Fubuki when she’s in over her head, giving her random gifts bc she saw sum and thought of her, doing a marathon run and wildly waving at Fubuki in the crowd, and all around being a dependable woman confident in herself and in love with a mysterious esper. Prob a little shy when it comes to anything physical bc she loves Fubuki so much and is overwhelmed by the realness of being w her. Fubuki gives Mizuki advice on ‘acting like a proper hero’ or whatever and though Mizuki thinks she doesn’t need it, Fubuki still helps her a lot w her career and being taken more seriously by others. Would give Mizuki someone who loves her for who she is and would go wild on her in private when she can be open about her affection, would be someone Mizuki could exercise with and listen intently to Mizuki’s physical knowledge, and would absolutely bandage her when she’s all banged up. Hnghh love this ship. It’s only behind the FubuPsy ship juuuuust a little bc they haven’t met in canon so we can’t be sure about their interactions and stuff. 8.8/10, I love WOMEN

Batarou: how could I go this far without mentioning them?! They have SOOOO much tension in the centichoro fight, like come on. Both snarky assholes who are huge softies one the inside, Badd being the more logical one (still a himbo, tho) and Garou being the more chaotic one. Probably take forever to admit their feelings bc they’re so prideful and stupid <3 flirt through constant wrestling matches and it takes Genos saying ‘they should kiss already, they’re getting on his nerves’ for them to finally realize what’s up. (@rayadraws has a great au where Garou Genos and Badd are a chaotic friend squad and Genos is the only brain of the group, haha. Very good au y’all check it out!) Would constantly pick on each other affectionately and switch into concerned SO when the other is hurt like the big teddy bears they are. Raise Zenko together for sure. Garou would fumble being romantic and Badd would find it both hilarious and cute. 11/12

Zombie mask/Amai x Zombieman:

So. I don’t like Amai Mask and I used to hate him, BUT the webcomic and fic have really helped me calm down on him (he’s still a dick tho), so it’s easier to want to ship him and stuff. Bc of Amai’s anger issues and controlling behavior, I could see this relationship being super toxic and icky—but I think they have some form of understanding that pulls Amai back from being a complete dick, you know? Start off as fuck buddies and slowly form something else from spending companionable time together other than screwing. Zombieman pulls Amai back from his angry fits and soothes him over with his logic. Talk maaaaaad shit about heroes, but only when they’re alone because Zombieman knows Amai will talk loud af about the heroes they’re roasting and Zombie doesn’t wanna stop a fight from happening. Zombieman loves making Amai flustered and has a secret check list in his head of all the things that get Amai red faced. Loves to listen to Amai rant about things for hours and loves to watch his face go through almost cartoon like expressions as he talks. He won’t admit it, but Zombie loves to be spoiled by Amai’s shit tons of cash and often takes rides in Amai’s limos when he wants to smoke and think to himself. Amai has a hard time realizing how his feelings have changed, but gets hit hard with it when he wakes up to Zombie making them breakfast one morning while wearing Amai’s underwear. Amai also loves to spoil Zombie and takes him out to restaurants and buys him cool new weapons on the weekends. @batneko has pretty much gotten me into this ship and I strongly suggest looking at their works! 7.9/10

DemonKnight/Genos x Zero/Drive Knight: I’m pretty sure this used to be a crack ship before the past like 10 manga chapters—and now here we are! Not a fav bc 1. ZERO LEFT GENOS TO SELF DESTRUCT AFTER THEY COMBINED TO FORM THE FUCKING JET HE WAS JUST LIKE lol bye SO LIKE if he left him to die that’s super hard for me to forgive and ship grrr 2. Disregarding the manga’s canon and looking at the wc, while I love the little trip they went on where Zero demonstrated his abilities and helped Genos kill monsters, it’s super sus. He knew alllll of this info on Metal Knight and was super supportive and understanding when Genos said he needed time to think. Like,,,what are his intentions? We know so little about him—is he trying to trick Genos or was he being sincere? THAT STUFF ASIDE, they’re a really fun ship. They’re both huge fucking nerds and can keep up with their talk on robotics for hours, they’re both cyborgs so they understand each other’s pain, and they’re both super cool and angsty. I think they could really settle into a deep bond that can go platonic or romantic, just depends. Genos needs more ppl in his life so hell yeah! Plus, he can really let go with Zero bc they don’t have that teacher/student relationship and Zero, if he’s really a sincere and kind guy like in the wc, can be there for Genos and listen to him. Don’t have much to say on this ship other than @wellthisisembarrassing makes GORGEOUS art of them! 6.3/10

Webuiko/Suiko x Webigaza: YEAH I KNOW THEY HAVENT INTERACTED IN CANON AND WE DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEM BUT HEAR ME OUT. Webigaza—cool af determined cyborg idol who’s surprisingly down to earth when talking with Child Emperor. Suiko—sassy and honest fighter who doesn’t take shit and is very passionate. Suiko would go to talk to Web then immediately freak out bc aaaa she’s way prettier than she thought, she can’t do this! Web would have to gently encourage Suiko to talk and at first is like ‘ah man, must be an adoring fan, ugh I’m so tired. At least she’s hot’ but when Suiko snaps out of her shyness Web is like oh! She’s super cool wtf. Always bump into each other during fights and help each other get fixed up, Suiko using her muscle power to lift Web’s pieces (and give Web a great view of Suiko’s muscles holy SHIT) and Web would patch Suiko up. Not to be stereotypical, but they’re def a masc/femme couple. I love the idea of this ship soooo much and I really hope they interact! 6.6/10 only bc they haven’t met 😭😭😭 look them up on here! There’s some great art of them by a few blogs

Dr. Kuseno x Bang: pretty sure @baldyborg came up with this one! Super cute. Just two old dudes finding a nice friendship in each other, maybe after Bang helps carry Genos to Kuseno’s after a day of fighting. Bang would find Kuseno to be a very cute little nerd man and would be sooo impressed by Kuseno’s mad scientist skills. Kuseno would be super impressed when seeing Bang in action too. They’d prob talk as soon as they meet each other and Genos would be in the background like you guys it’s been an hour, please fix me I’m on the verge of death 🧍🏻Bang would give Kuseno advice on training techniques to teach Genos and advice on making his bodies more martial arts ready or sum, meanwhile Kuseno would give his take on how to be kinder to Garou so that Bang would learn to repair the relationship with a gentleness he’s seemingly lacking (yes I’m talking about the chapter where he and Garou start fighting and Bang is just not doing enough to reach out to Garou, he’s being a callous old man! So yeah I’m still mad about that). Genos and Saitama would prob be out on a date and Saitama would be like oh theres Bang, wonder what he’s doing? Then Kuseno would walk up and kiss Bang and Genos and Sai would be shocked like SIRS 👬 Genos would tell Bang he doesn’t need another adoptive dad and Bang would be like....ok.... I see them retiring in a cottage together and Bang would become a huge softie. Yes I’m actively ignoring chapter 141 of the wc, shut up. 7.6/10

TankTop master x Mumen: they have a nice friendship going on in the manga right now! Just bros supporting bros. Tank is the picture definition of a muscly himbo and Mumen is his cute passionate bf. Also workout buddies af!! Don’t have much to say other than pretty good ship, just not a fav. 5.2/10

The more I play other roleplay apps the more I realise Choices isn’t that good. AKA Why I’ve gone from buying the £100 package a month to not bothering anymore

Why?

Our choices don’t make the slightest bit of difference to the story, like at all. In a few other apps, the choices I make open up completely different dialogues depending on my choices, throughout the book (not for the next few sentences). On some of these apps I get nothing for replaying the story again, no advert reward or anything but I do it because it’s interesting to see the completely different reactions from people. It’s almost a whole new story when everyone treats you differently.

Who you romance doesn’t change the story. This isn’t true in other apps either. If you romance more than one person in other apps, your other LI choices will be annoyed and break up with you. There will be different scenes available to you or not depending on who you chose. As in they will be completely missing from a scene if you’re not romancing that person because them being there makes no sense (I’m looking at you Mayor Dixon, you’re my boss not my partner. Why are you at my birthing class for kids that aren’t yours).

Your LI’s/friends groups also have lives outside of you. They don’t follow you around like lost puppies all the time.

Everything’s really generic. Gender of Choice is nice but they’re all written as blank slates. At least in the other apps where the LI is fixed gender or single LI they have personality traits and depth to their characters. They have backgrounds and family and personalities that make sense for their gender. You don’t end up with the ‘Sam and Sofia’s father’ situation that makes ZERO sense if Sam is female.

Other apps have managed to keep giving us content to the same standard and level as during the pandemic. If I don’t like something, there’s a different book I can read, not with Choices. Content has all but disappeared.

Again diamond choices don’t mean SHIT. I can’t stress how little making a diamond choice in Choices means to the storyline.

I don’t think a single person a Choices has met a child. I don’t have kids but I do have nieces. I also know how to use the internet to google children’s growth and development.

Choices is REALLLLLLY bad at the passage of time. Really bad. Sure they’ll pop in a one liner about a couple of weeks here and there but that’s not all the clues you need, especially when it’s perpetually one season in most books. Background with different seasons, birthdays, anniversaries would all help and guess what, you could do diamond choices with these things. Instead Most books seem to lack a consistent timeline, I’m sure they wrote one but they’re really bad at getting it across. Children that never seem to grow up, dogs that remain puppies beyond their years.

Backgrounds that don’t match the text. I’m fine with reusing backgrounds but if you’ve described the background as one thing it should freaking match. And they’ll resuse the SAME background in the same book and sometimes the SAME chapter for a different place. They’ll also do it with sprites, sometimes with just a change of clothes, like they don’t have a massive back stock of sprites. LAZY AF.

Speaking of... there’s so many little things in the text in practically every chapter that don’t match the background/item/image they use. It’s happened with TNA when Sam said they were going to make us pancakes with bacon and eggs. We got a dessert pancake. It wouldn’t have taken long to use the files they have to make pancakes with bacon and eggs on it. It happened again with the kittens in the last chapter of TNA, literally all they had to do was stick them on a background and it’d make sense. Nope, kittens on a floating white background because that’s how texts work in Choices. It’s fucking lazy and breaks the customer experience. I don’t see this with other apps.

Reusing LI’s names. Again, google, it’s free. Use it.

Fully back in my FNAF phase, I made this account to try and actually use my education to add something to the conversation. Firstly by addressing this post I made on my main!

First of all, I just want to stress that I thought it was a good movie! It was a fun movie! I enjoyed it, and I’m glad to many other people enjoyed it also! However, I made this post because I saw a decent amount of posts stating that it was essentially perfect, and that’s just not the case.

So, speaking of, here are the changes I would have made (based off pure memory alone, because I’m doing this for fun), here are the main plot points I feel need fixing in the FNAF movie and how I would have fixed them!

Vanessa Shelly/Afton

As you’ll see with most of these, the vast majority of my issue with the film is a lack of build up for crucial plot points. Seemingly relying on fan knowledge and nostalgia to excuse them, but I really don’t think that’s acceptable. While I can concede that films like this should be made for the fans, and therefore the approval of groups like critics shouldn’t matter that much.

However, the crucial part of any plot twist is that it needs to be built up, so that anyone watching can go “Ohhhh!” when looking back or rewatching. And I just feel like the FNAF movie really falls when it comes to this. Maybe because it was trying to cram too many plot points into one film? But I guess that’s in the spirit of FNAF.

With Vanessa, as a fan of the games I was very much expecting a Vanny angle, as I imagine most people were. However, I didn’t hate her being made into an Afton. I know that was a common theory about her in the games anyway, and I do feel like it makes what will be her likely development into Vanny more compelling and make more sense. But because of that subversion of expectations, it made her being William’s daughter really feel like the wind was being knocked out of me, plot wise.

This is hardly the worst example here. Looking back, all of what I was originally assuming were scenes setting up Vanny do make sense to set up this twist instead. But even this requires some knowledge of the game series to notice (I.E. to know about the child murders, them being stuffed in the suits, and that all being done by the owner of the pizzeria), which - as I said - I don’t think should be required.

But this feels easy enough to address. By just having a few scenes addressing the rumours and history behind the pizzeria, this would have set this up more for all audience members while also providing a bit more context and foreshadowing to Vanessa’s behaviour. Especially if it’s mentioned that the owner had a daughter, or even children in general.

Also, not a nitpick or correction so much as a question, but how was she a cop? She didn’t do her rounds, she spent every night at the pizzeria. Like, all night every night. Surely she was lying, right? Or is the movie really just going all ACAB by saying cops are too lazy to care? 😂

William Afton

Ahh, what a good actor, a well shot scene, but such a disappointing reveal.

Which is all, again, up to foreshadowing! Sure, with game knowledge and awareness of Matthew Lillard’s acting portfolio, this was a twist most of us saw coming. But the film really did not set it up well at all. And it wouldn’t have even been hard to do!

Showing the Springtrap Bonnie suit in the Pizzaplex (even just in the background, but ideally with at least one scene pointing it out directly) would have been a great start, addressing what has become the Fandom Meme of William driving from home in the damn thing. It could have been used to demonstrate what a Springlock Suit was, even, instead of what was otherwise either a reference to a book character or Circus Baby. Or even just alongside it, so we could still have the scene with Abby and maybe even notice the Springlock Bonnie suit being missing!

There’s also the issue that he really appears in truly just two scenes prior to appearing as the Literal Main Villain. And once again, it feels like there are easy solutions to this. Mike’s dreams could have been used to hint at it, with all his focus on the car and presumably the Man Fucking Driving It. He also could have kept calling Mike throughout the film, expressing a weird amount of interest in the Pizzeria, or a strange level of knowledge, like Vanessa! Which would have also worked to connect them more, foreshadowing their relationship, and been a fun Phone Guy reference.

Aunt Jane

I’m sorry, idk if there are any Aunt Jane fans or apologists out there, but she is entirely useless to the plot. Like you can remove her, move some simple things around, and then nothing really changes.

Mike and Abby already had enough of an interesting and tense dynamic, they didn’t need her to add anything to it. In fact, their dynamic was more interesting without her input.

The main thing she really adds is the big murder sequence with the people she hires to break in. But, they could have just wanted to break in anyway? The babysitter could have ended up working for Mike by coincidence, which could help them find a way in (without Mike’s knowledge, of course), and they could have been Urban Explorers or just straight up Thieves, since I have to assume there would be people who would pay bank for Freddy Fazbear collectibles. There are always people who want weirdly specific collectibles. Plus they could have been the ones to talk about the history and rumours around the pizzeria! The other important thing I mentioned earlier!

As for the last time Abby comes to the pizzeria. Well, she could have easily just been brought with Mike again against Vanessa’s advice. Or she could have been left alone that one night and we could have still had the Golden Freddy taxi scene.

Also, removing her would just leave more room for all the other changes I would have made fjejfjd

Speaking of Abby, she isn’t a new trope. A kid being connected to ghosts, and even kids drawing them. So I feel like there’s enough movie magic to create suspense of disbelief there. Especially in the Dead Kids Haunt Animatronics movie.

My biggest concern with this is that she really has, no connection to the dead kids? At least not until she’s brought to the pizzeria by Mike. And by that point, she’s already been drawing and talking to them. And sure, she’s Mike’s sister and all, so her brother also went missing. But, she wasn’t there when that happened.

So, how do we fix this? Simple! Either have her be present in Mike’s dream flashbacks in some capacity (either as a very young baby, or even just with their mum being visibly and referred to as pregnant), or don’t have her start up with the visions and drawings until after going to the pizzeria the first time. I feel like the first is easier, since all it would require is some shifting of Mike’s age (either making Mike older during the flashbacks, or younger in the present day), but Mike bringing her the first night of work (and having that first night be much earlier in the movie), then not bringing her for a few nights, and then catching up again with the film timeline as it is now would also be doable.

And that’s it! It still wouldn’t be a perfect movie, but like I said at the beginning, it doesn’t need to be! It’s still the lore & reference filled movie for the fans, just more streamlined and more understandable for less hardcore fans or even just casual viewers who might be getting into the franchise via the movie!

And I just want to reiterate that I really, truly did enjoy the film. I had a fun time watching it! I just want to show how small changes which would have truly only required another draft or two of the script would have just made it better. Helped it follow through on it’s main plot points in a more satisfying way.

I don’t understand why he treats me the way he does now vs when we first started dating.. and I say that like we’ve been together for year, when the reality is it’s only just been a year. We just had our “anniversary” which included me asking if we were going to go to dinner and we went to Red Robin.. I’m not complaining about it in terms of fancy or cost. I’m complaining about how he put zero thought into it. I asked about dinner. I was the only one offering suggestions on where to eat. There was no contribution other then paying for the bill. Which I feel has come to be a deal I unknowingly made. He pays the mortgage and utilities, the big stuff he pays for. Granted he also makes well over what I make. Even though we both work 40hrs. His does have potential for a lot of overtime. And will work it if given the opportunity. But it seems that just because he makes more then me that EVERYTHING else falls on my shoulders. Taking care of our 4 dogs. (His mom does watch them during the day, and has helped care for them too mind you.) but the dogs, cooking, cleaning. And I will say I do love her, his mom is A LOT to deal with. She lives with us as she has fibromyalgia and diabetes. She’s on a fixed tight income and there’s no way she could afford anything and survive monthly. So she lives with us. Occupies 80% of the house. Eats like the pickiest 5yr old alive. And is petty AF. But either way. Basically what I’m saying is he’s lazy. And it’s effecting me in a big way. He doesn’t put the effort in to anything lastly our relationship. Bottom line I feel like I’m doing most of the work in the house and the relationship, just because he makes more money. It’s not a relationship. It’s a more like an employer and employee. Maaaaan idk…. I’m high af. And for sure in my feelings right now. But I don’t have many friends I can talk to about this. So I just have me and occasionally I’ll see my mom. My sister and nieces. But that’s not often. I changed my job in the company I’m working for and am now a manager. Part of that job is to be there at 4am or 3am. So I wake up an hr before to get ready and get there. I fucking hate mornings 😑 I’m a natural night owl. I just have so much more energy when I’m on a night schedule. Going to bed at 2am instead of waking up at 2am. But I changed it for him. Now with his new job we have no idea what his hrs will be. So who knows if I made this drastic change for nothing or not yet…

I just feel so discouraged lately. I’ve tried talking to him and telling him how I feel and I think he hears me for about 1/4 of it. But it seems I’m less and less important by the day. He doesn’t need me. But it also doesn’t seem like he wants me. To me… that’s worse. But I’ll have happy moments. Where I remember what it felt like before. Or when we were in Montana and it was just us. Just enjoying each other’s company and seeing new and beautiful things. Experiences that are once in a lifetime. I loved that man so hard. But what he is lately is so far from the other that I don’t know if this is a phase, if there’s something he’s not sharing with me, or if he’s just falling out of love with me and doesn’t know how to tell me.

I’d be lying if I said I didn’t reminisce the time I was living in Montana, the ranch, victor, living in a camper just me and the dogs. Just LIVING my life, and loving it so fucking much!! It breaks my heart every time I think about it to be honest. I miss the passion and connection I had with victor. It was effortless and made me feel like I was someone to be treasured and loved. I thought that’s what you’re supposed to feel with your partner. If they’re the one. Or is it more a comfortable partnership? I don’t know what a healthy relationship looks like as I had zero to model growing up. All I know is after Montana, after Montana Cowboy…I changed. I stand up for myself. I speak my mind. I love harder. I work hard. I always am trying to be a better person. I put in as much of myself as I can in to whatever I am doing, with passion and excitement! I don’t think Anthony sees that about me. If he does, he doesn’t value it as much as he should. Plus it’s something I want both of us to do! To strive to be the best versions of ourselves and support one another however we can. I want someone who actually WANTS to know how my day was, not just asking because they feel obligated. That’s what I feel like, an obligation. Or someone to make him dinner.

I want to make this relationship work. More then anything. But I can’t be the only one. If he’s not willing to do the actual work it takes to be in a healthy relationship it’s going to take communicating, understanding, compromise, love and desire. I’m giving all that. But he road blocks me when I try to communicate any of my feelings it seems. And when I do get out some of my feelings he instantly says “I don’t wanna hear it cause it’s just gonna be how I’m not doing some bullshit, or I need to do something” and it’s the most dismissive response and hurts every time. Like he doesn’t care about me and my happiness in the relationship at all. I know if my partner is upset I’m going to want to help them not be upset. However that looks for them. Weather it’s talking or space. He sees me crying and then listens a little bit better. But all I feel like is he’s laying there thinking, “when will she get over this. I have video games or football or my phone waiting.” Or he will fall asleep. I come last. I don’t come first. That’s something I always told myself I wasn’t going to allow to happen anymore. Reasons I didn’t want to date people with kids. (Not because I don’t love kids, I do!) because I didn’t want to be a second priority. I also wouldn’t want to be the first over the kids if I was with someone that had kids because to me kids come first. Period. 😓

I just know something needs to change soon. Cause otherwise I’m just wasting my time as well as his. I don’t want to keep someone from the life their meant to live. And I don’t want my time to be used up until it’s too late for me to do things like have a baby. Start a family. Live in Montana. Two things I don’t ever want to give up. Swore I never would for another man either.

Man, this post is too long. And I’ve gone back and forth on weather I wanted to post it. I don’t need a bunch of opinions on my relationship. I just needed somewhere to vent. Maybe look for some support or advice on how I can help things in my relationship and life. Cause duck if I know what I’m doing!

Is it really a SakuAtsu fic without one mention of a major twin fight? (probably yes but in this case no LOL) This one was SO good and I love how annoying Sakusa is >>>> for Atsumu. Also the acceptance at the end ajfakdlf HEART WARMED.

Also when they talked about Rome and Prague it made me laugh OMG. And RIP Osamu’s watch, worked hard never to be seen again LOL.

the unfinished kiss by Ellieb3an (E) 6.3k /SakuAtsu/ I told myself, less or no smut, but here we are. Honestly you’d think I learn I never stick to my own rules LOL. Anyway, this is SPICY so avoid if you don’t like smut heheh. I absolutely love when they use fighting as foreplay like adflkhf yes PUNCH HIS FACE (does that make me violent? probably LOL).

In knives and bullets by badreputation (M) 8.3k /SunaOsa/ UGH this one. Suna and Osamu’s relationship is *chef’s kiss*. And like I love how it isn’t too rushed and they took their time (also angry Suna is HOT). Like the tension at the house during the thing and then the PROPOSAL (LIKE YES). I always find myself coming back to this fic cause I just really love it <3

training by Sebastians_senpai (M) 3.2k /IwaOi/ again the smut.... ANyway, this one is some bamf Oikawa and head-made-of-steel Iwa LOL. Also some avengers talk makes it’s way up (and need I say, Iwa probably did look hot af when he did that), and him constantly hitting the other guy (cause spoilers hehe) made me laugh (ie. targeting LOL).

glass stained black by unrequitedangst (E) 31k /SunaOsa/ OKAY I said nO mAfIa Au’s well.... Technically it’s a SPY mafia AU so teehee. Also another repost cause why not LOL (but altered cause my writing is atrocious). The character development of Osamu is really legit and despite being mafia, it’s not that heavy or angst of a fic (but you should still definitely read tags and warnings first). It’s a non-linear fic (which I really liked, cause I love non-linear hehe) and the organization just adds another level to the fic development!

I love BAMF so if you have any to recommend, DO IT. Always up for more bamf/spy/secret agent AU’s HEHE. Also this turned into a collection of the same ships LOL IM SORRY, but I have a type and I think it’s very obvious hehe. I hope you all were careful about tags because I got lazy LOL. And this wasn’t in any particular order so I should’ve done it by ship, but I’m too lazy to do it now LOL. ahhh thank you! to be fair, I also struggle with some house change fics bc I think they're often done badly (and so lamely) ? there are some really good ones though. it's nice to explore different ways of doing it in fbc & aberration - one of them exploring the idea of choice, and how adults could really have qualities that fit various sorting options. and aberration of course is just bc i wanted a slytherin hermione x harry fix and i'd never see one.

and i think the thing is 11 year old Hermione isn't a Slytherin in canon (however fun it is to see what would have happened if she had been). but after doing all the dirty work to keep Harry alive etc... she kind of becomes the perfect Slytherin. but mostly in fbc she chose to go there because she's honourable af. and that makes her just as much a Gryffindor as ever.

to me, by the end of canon, she is as ambitious and cunning as she is honourable and brave - sort of the perfect mix of both. i mostly like to put her there because i thought jkr was lazy to make all the slytherins in their year pathetic. even the 'good slytherins' are only good under extreme duress.

as for Ravenclaw - i'm gonna go off here cause i have thought about this a lot but.........

I think there is a widespread misconception of Ravenclaw... to me they are driven by intellectual curiosity in a much purer way than Hermione is in the books. they're not necessarily interested in getting the top marks overall, imo, but would prefer to really understand something or explore something. to me a Ravenclaw is a true scholar (probably with a nicher focus than Hermione who's an all-rounder but not notably inventive at any one thing. she's that kid in school who came top of everything but never won the poetry prize). and you can write Hermione like that but you can also choose to see her accumulation of knowledge as part of a need to prove herself, gain accolades and/or power. she acquires knowledge in order to use it, not just for the sake of it. it's useful to her and she arms herself with it. we barely hear a peep out of another Ravenclaw all series except Luna and Cho - neither of whom are that academically boastful and certainly aren't waving their arms around like Hermione.

I put her in there for unsphere the stars (why do i never write Gryffindor I just realised that?!) when she wanted to hide, but also because that fic is about her journey to discovering greater magic so it worked better to root that version of her character, which is more scholarly than aberration hermione of fbc hermione.

[end note: the best house change fic off the top of my head is the changeling by anerb, which has Ginny in Slytherin. it's impeccable. green girl & eagle's nest are two of the others I've enjoyed over the years. I can't think of any more rn]

so this morning, while scrolling through my fb feed, i came across an nyt opinion/advice piece from a 27yo (ie basically me lmao) who is obviously lucky, in a sense, to finally land their “dream job using my (their) skills” etc. like obvs i can’t read it bc of the stupid “you get one free article a month if you either don’t have an account or subscription” (my one free article was used up reading an article about adult adhd like last week)….. thing that nyt does.

but anyway. back on topic lol. the crux of the article in both the headline and the quote snippet was that the advice asker was really dissatisfied with the 40 hour work week that came with her “dream job”. with how having this 40hr workweek gave her no time to do her busy chores like house cleaning or laundry or didn’t even give her time to let her have her hobbies/creative pursuits (whatever they were/are).

however, in the comments on the article (and apparently from those who read the article on the comments, the advice/opinion column writer) a good bunch of like gen Xer’s and baby boomers (im assuming) were ganging up on the asker like “suck it up princess, it’s what life is!!! i work 70+ hours a week and LOVE IT and have just resigned myself to the fact that i have NO time left over to do my “chores”! learn to O U T S O U R C E these life admin tasks to someone else!!! everyone MUST LEARN this in america!!! it makes life so much easier ☺️” and such.
