Models Who Are Not Naturals (Kibbe)
We know that the modelling industry is dominated by FNs/Flamboyant Naturals since clothes are made for a rectangular frame and not customized to the curves and contours of a specific body. Models who are frame dominant are preferred because they can advertise the clothes as they are instead of having it tailored to fit them. But all of that aside, I thought it'll be interesting to find models who do not have a typical FN build.
Keep in mind that almost all the women mentioned below are over 5'7 and with Kibbe's height restrictions in mind, at that height, only a few IDs are possible (SD, D, FN). Since this is a post about models who aren't FN, this list will largely feature Ds & SDs.
For context, this is a typical FN build. Cindy Crawford is a verified FN. She has broad shoulders, a square torso and an overall athletic build. FNs are likely to have an inverted triangle like frame.
Adriana Lima, Dramatic
She's 178cm and thus has automatic vertical. Her overall body is very sharp and angular, she does not have an athletic build or physique. She's just long and sharp?? if that makes sense
2. Stephanie Seymour, SD
90s Victoria Secret models were often SDs, voluptuous and curvy and Stephanie is a great example of it. Its only in the 2000s & since that FNs began to dominate the modelling industry.
She has double curve and has a fleshy, curvy physique.
3. Miranda Kerr, Dramatic
Her physique is so similar to Adriana's. Very long torso's, sharp limbs and angular
4. Laetitia Casta- SD
Her bustline and hips are curved which is what is meant by double curve. So she looks softer and rounder. Her yang comes from her height
5. Tyra Banks- SD
6. Karen Mulder- D
Longer torso, longer overall body, very sharp and angular looking
7. Heidi Klum- Dramatic
8. Helena Christensen- SD
9. Ming Xi, D
10. Chanel Iman is a FN but I'm including her anyway because she can easily be mistyped as an SD or something
11. Irina Shayk, Dramatic
12. Eva Herzigova, SD
13. Rania Benchegra, SD
14. Kaia Gerber, FN (i know she seems like a Dramatic but she's a Natural all thru)
15. Kate Moss, Flamboyant Gamine
16. Devon Aoki, Flamboyant Gamine
17. Chloe Sevigny, Flamboyant Gamine
18. Anok Yai, Pure Dramatic
19. Adut Akech, underweight SD
20. Emily Ratajkowski, Flamboyant Gamine
21. Chrissy Teigen, SD
22. Camille Rowe, Soft Gamine
23. Adwoa Aboah, Flamboyant Gamine
24. Agyness Deyn, Dramatic Classic
25. Joan Smalls, Dramatic
26. Milla Jovovich, DC
27. Sasha Pivovarova, Dramatic Classic
28. Amber Valletta, Dramatic Classic
29. Candice Swanepoel, underweight SD
ive reached the image limit ,, ill make a part 2 in the future<33

A Mother's Distaste
A delve into C.J's relationship with his mother
Tw for religious themes and child abuse. Also I didn't proofread this so

Lorna Crawford's affair was by far the worst mistake of her life
She already had the most loving husband she could've found, a husband who was the greatest father he could be to their toddler son Devon
Devon looked like his father, waddling around with blonde hair and deep brown eyes. He was a splitting image of the man who greeted him with a smile every day after work
Lorna lived in a constant state of guilt and anguish after her affair. It was one night, and one night only, but it still haunted her. Her husband had no idea why she'd taken to crying in the church pews every Wednesday and Sunday
To make matters worse, she soon found out she was pregnant again. Normally this would've been a dream come true, a blessing she would've thanked god for. And there was a chance that this baby was her husband's, but the sinking feeling in her gut told her she wouldn't be so lucky
She told her husband, who looked like he might cry in joy
"A baby?" He grinned, cupping his wife's face in adoration "Oh my– a baby! Devon's gonna be a big brother"
She burst into tears and blamed it on the hormones
She prayed every day that this child was her husband's. They soon found out it was another boy, and she prayed he'd look like his brother. That would prove to her that this boy was her husband's child, and she could finally rest easy
They settled on the name Cooper eventually. Something about it just had a certain southern charm that they loved. It ended up paired with the middle name Jones, Lorna's maiden name
The boy was born soon. As her husband prayed that his wife and child would be safe and healthy, she prayed that this child wouldn't be a product of her stupidity
The boy was handed to her and he had brown hair. That on it's own meant next to nothing, but she'd never seen a newborn look so strikingly like someone else
Her boy, her Cooper, looked horribly like his father. Not her husband, with his blonde hair and deep brown eyes, but the man she had her affair with
Later in the day when the baby opened his eyes for the first time she almost dropped him. His eyes were a near frightening purple, staring at her curiously
Her husband never thought a thing of it. He loved that boy and his peculiar eyes just as he did his older son
As C.J grew up he struggled with things. He had trouble reading and sitting still, and it seemed as if the older he got the harder it was for him to hear
Devon was perfectly fine, and so was the blonde haired, brown eyed little girl that was born the December before C.J turned five
By the time Junie, the little girl, was born, C.J had already been diagnosed as damn near deaf, and then as dyslexic some years later
She couldn't help but damn near hate that boy. She was always tougher on him than she was his siblings, whilst her husband treated all three children the same, and her eldest and youngest both loved their brother to bits
He called her mama just the same as her other two children did. He kissed her on the cheek before he left for school and baseball practice, and he brought her clover flowers that grew outside the baseball fields
Gods, he was the sweetest boy, but he felt like a curse. Like a punishment from god for her torrid affair
Those creepy purple eyes that filled with tears when she scolded him. God forbid she hit him and had to watch him try desperately to hold himself together
She threw him out onto the streets of Vegas when he was 14, 2000 miles from their home in Mississippi. She was almost relieved to be rid of him, but the guilt set in later. Her head swam in a sea of guilt and relief and unbridled rage
She could never put into words how much she wished Cooper never happened

Carmen Sandiego - Voice Compare.
In terms of the earliest vocal depictions, Janese Swanson gives Carmen a classy Trans-Atlantic accent, while Christine Sockol speaks in a husky American voice. Both are suitable, but I personally feel Sockol's take fits the character best. Christen Johnson is doing an awful impression of Swanson, and just comes across as snooty, more akin to Cruella De Vil than Carmen Sandiego. Rita Moreno's take is just iconic, instilling Carmen with a light-hearted playfulness that works well alongside her deviousness, with Deborah Sale Butler putting on a similar and equally solid performance. Janine Lamanna just sounds obnoxious, which isn't helped by the horrendously out-of-character material she's working with. Brenda Burke is more fun to listen to, bringing back the Swanson quality to Carmen's voice, but is saddled with the same lousy material (but she is notably better in the Great Chase Through Time game.) Considering that Mari Devon voiced this character, she was ideal casting for Carmen Sandiego. Both Crawford and Vee are decent, but they can't help but fall into the shadow of several of their predecessors. The unknown actress is the worst, most wooden take ever, while Gina Rodriguez provides a great, more youthful and heroic reinvention of the character.
My ranking:
Rita Moreno
Deborah Sale Butler
Mari Devon
Christine Sockol
Gina Rodriguez
Christiane Crawford
Brenda Burke
Cristina Vee
Janese Swanson
Janine Lamanna
Christen Johnson

Heather Runs 12 Ultra marathons To Support Royal Marines Charity
Heather is running twelve Ultra Marathons this year to support the Royal Marines Charity. An ultramarathon is any race longer than a marathon, and Heather is running one a month.
Heather came to North Devon last weekend and members of the North Devon Branch Royal marines Association supported her on a run from The Royal Hotel, Bideford where the Combined Operations Executive made some of their plans for D day, along the Tarka Trail, past the Royal Marine Base at Instow, onwards to RMB Chivenor and out to Braunton Burrows. She completed the return leg to Bideford, in all clocking up around 36 miles in 7.5 hours.
She is doing these in various different locations across the country, each with a link to the Royal Marines. She has the full support of her team, the Royal Marines Charity and John Peel, Chairman, Royal Marines Association, North Devon Branch, pictured.
You can donate on her JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/heather-crawford-1674225285245
Why is she doing this? Heather said, “I am an ordinary person, I don’t have a ‘story’, I simply believe with a deep passion in everything the RMA-The Royal Marines Charity do.”
“The 12 core values of the Royal Marines are those I try to live my life by. Ultra running is not just about physical capability but mostly about mental battles, determination, humility, adaptability, respect and overcoming. The runs will not be fast, may involve lots of walking, but I am bloody minded enough to finish!”
“RMA - The Royal Marines Charity exists to help the entire Royal Marines family. Offering a range of services to both serving, veterans and their families.”
The Royal Marines Charity said: “This Charity is uniquely placed to understand, respond and react to the needs of Royal Marines and their families, helping them to overcome their own challenges, including life changing injury, life limiting illness and mental ill-health sustained on operations all over the globe. As an example, the increasing mental health support requirements of our Royal Marines veteran community resulting from the Falklands War, the Iraq War and Afghanistan is particularly stark in 2019 alone, twelve Royal Marines veterans committed suicide, an alarming and very sad increase.”
“The Charity responded in 2020 by running a ground-breaking campaign known as #Lifting the Lid, a reference to Royal Marines taking off their Green Berets and opening-up about their experiences and the stress of conflict.”
“This programme of support was praised by the NHS, Samaritans and Zero Suicide Alliance. But even with these initiatives, it is still not enough to prevent Royal Marines from taking their own lives. More support is needed, but the pandemic has had a profound impact on fundraising just as demand in these difficult times has grown. The Charity continues to campaign and raise funds, but it needs the help of every Royal Marine and every supporter of the Royal Marines Commandos.”

Yes, the Devon Lennox of the Crawford family, currently headlining on Broadway and yes I’ll sign your VHS of me as a kid if you bring it to the stage door. Glad we got that out of the way. What’s everyone been up to this weekend? I’d better hear some good stories, don’t waste those beautiful lives.

Written by Joe Gannon Directed by Armand Mastroianni
We open on a sexy woman singing a song. It is the superstar Angelica, and it turns out we are seeing her on a television set, in a room covered with posters and photos of her. A man is applying makeup to his face in the mirror, then he walks through the room, caressing her image on the walls. He seems obsessed and sad, mouthing "I love you" to a poster, then he begins to sob.
Cut to the outside shot of the Vinyl Museum Record Depot, where the man, Howard, works. He is busy filling a display for Angelica's music, and his boss tells him a PR rep for Angelica's label will be stopping in. She also gets Howard's hopes up by hinting maybe the rep can even get Angelica to stop by herself.
Some teen girls are shopping, and an overzealous Howard tries to help, wanting to show of his knowledge of Angelica. They mock him and leave.
That night, Howard is walking home and looks at his reflection in a window. As he does, two men jump out of a car and smash a store window, grabbing items and fleeing as the alarm sounds. Howard walks over and finds a chain with a crystal bauble. He picks it up just as a bystander grabs him, thinking he is the burglar. Howard tells the man to drop dead, and the bauble kind of puts the man in a trance. He walks off, we can hear his heart pounding and he collapses. Howard goes to check on him, but the man is dead. The cops arrive.
Later, Howard is finally at home and examines the bauble in front of the mirror. He asks it to fix his skin, and his face instantly looks smoother. He then asks it to fix his face, but nothing happens.
At Curious Goods, Ryan is excited to have to tickets to Angelica's concert. Ryan really likes her, but Micki pokes fun at him. Jack then finds the bauble in the Manifest, and shows the cousins the police report of items stolen, and it includes Mesmer's Bauble. Jack tells them Mesmer was a hypnotist, and they wonder what Louis' curse did to the item. Micki and Ryan leave to investigate.
At a club called The Copa, fans eagerly await as Angelica arrives. Howard among them. She waves and signs a few autographs then is ushered inside.
Howard arrives at the record store and his boss introduces him to Anita Devon, from Angelica's label. Howard is excited to meet someone who actually knows his crush. His boss comments on his face looking clearer.
Howard shows Anita their storeroom and she gives him an autographed photo of Angelica. He also spies her backstage pass. Howard continues to ask questions, and it quickly gets too personal. Anita thinks he is a wacko fan, and is uncomfortable. She wants to go, but Howard pushes, and she says Angelica wouldn't be attracted to someone like him. He pulls out the bauble and puts her in a trance. He tells her to go for a walk. She obeys, walking out of the store, only saying goodbye to Mrs. Burns at Howard's insistence. Howard walks out with Anita and tells her to walk into the traffic. She is hit by a semi. His boss runs out and tells him to call an ambulance.
That night, Howard rushes home and again holds the bauble, asking it to make him beautiful and someone Angelica would notice. He writhes on the floor in pain.
At The Copa, Howard arrives with Anita's backstage pass. He looks more attractive, and even his hair is flowing. He heads backstage, where Angelica and her crew are rehearsing. Howard follows the monitors and soon he is within feet of the singer, watching her. Roger, Angelica's manager, is ushering her out when they encounter Howard, who says he is there replacing Anita. Roger says he better do better than her, to Angelica's chagrin. Howard and Angelica shake hands. Roger takes her away, saying they can talk business later. A stagehand says there is an issue with too many fans and asks if Angelica will come out and sign some autographs. Roger tries to blow him off, but Angelica goes to them. Howard wanders backstage.
Later, Roger is ranting about lost time as he and Angelica finally get to her dressing room. He says she is too good to her fans. As she goes to change, Howard watches from the clothing rack. Angelica says Roger is too possessive, and Howard realizes they are a couple.
Micki and Ryan arrive at the store that was burglarized. They talk to the owner, and tell him the cops caught the thieves and got most of his items back. They ask about the bauble. He thinks the crooks fenced it, but Micki says there wasn't time. He mentions the kid who talked to the police, and Micki asks if he means Howard Moore. The man calls him and ugly kid, and talks about the jogger that died. Micki and Ryan head off.
At another rehearsal, Howard watches Angelica perform. He then approaches as Angelica and Roger go to leave, but Roger rudely tells him he should be working and not hanging around, and then takes off as Howard seethes.
Micki and Ryan are at the record store and talk to Mrs. Burns. She said Howard called and quit this morning, and tells them kids were always giving Howard a bad time over his looks. Then she tells them about Anita getting hit. Micki says to Ryan that everywhere Howard is, someone dies.
Howard lies in bed, listening to Angelica's music, and says out loud that he knows she wants him. A knock on the door and Micki and Ryan are there. They ask about the robbery and if he noticed the bauble. He says no, but Micki spies all the Angelica photographs before he shuts the door. She comments to Ryan that he is not at all ugly. They wonder if the cursed antique is already at work. Micki thinks he wants Angelica, so they leave to find where she is staying.
In his apartment, Howard holds the bauble.
At the hotel, Roger stops shaving to answer the door. It is Howard, who holds the bauble up and entrances the man. Howard tells him to finish shaving, really close, with no water. He keeps telling him to go closer and closer, and not to forget his throat. Blood hits the sink and Roger collapses. Howard looks in the mirror and tells the bauble he wants to be Angelica's lover.
In the hotel lobby, Micki and Ryan see a body wheeled out. A woman says it was Angelica's manager. Then, Angelica and Howard get off the elevator, together. Howard has instantly replaced Roger, telling the assembled group to give her privacy.
Jack is reading about Roger's death, with a quote from Howard saying Roger was depressed. Micki says Howard spent the night planning Roger's funeral. They are sure he has the bauble. Jack tells them about his research, that the bauble fulfills fantasies. Ryan wonders if Howard will hurt Angelica. They head to the club.
Angelica is crying in her dressing room when Howard arrives with a rose. He tells her he took care of Roger's funeral, and she cries on his chest. She wants to cancel her show, but Howard insists she must go on, for all her fans. She is unsure. A man knocks on the door, and Angelica says she will go on. Howard tells her he wants to show her something.
We cut to him taking Angelica to his apartment with all the photos of her on the walls. She asks if he wants her and begins to undress.
Micki and Ryan burst into the club, wanting to find Angelica. A man stops them, and Ryan asks where she is. The man says she left with her new manager.
Howard and Angelica are naked, and he is caressing her body. He keeps looking from her to her photos, then he is touching his own chest, then the bauble. Angelica asks what's wrong, and kisses him. She pulls him to the floor on top of her, but Howard says he can't do this, it isn't what he wants. He says he wants to be her. She struggles, as he holds her down. The power of the bauble works on his wish, melding their bodies. Later, Howard who is now Angelica looks in the mirror and laughs.
That night, the stagehand tells Howard/Angelica it is almost showtime. She admires herself in the mirror.
Ryan and Micki arrive at Howard's apartment and bang on the door. Ryan forces the door open. Micki sees weird slimy ooze on the floor, and they rush off to the club.
As the show is about to begin, the fans fill the club. Howard/Angelica prepares to go on stage. Micki and Ryan head in with the other fans, looking for Howard. Angelica/Howard is introduced and comes on stage, singing and dancing.
Micki notices the bauble around "Angelica's" neck and as the singer makes her way around the stage, Micki reaches up and grabs the bauble, pulling it off without their knowing. Suddenly, Howard/Angelica's voice goes deep, his body and face change. He is transforming into Howard again in front of a freaked out crowd. He hears the mocking voices in his head, backs up in a panic and falls into a floor panel of lights, sending sparks into the air. Micki, Ryan and the club all watch in horror.
At home, Ryan is listening to Angelica on the radio, and Jack and Micki tell him to try and make sense out of it. Micki says the bauble is in the vault, but they blew it this time, lamenting being unable to also save Angelica. Jack says there was no way to know what was going to happen, or what was going on in Howard's mind. Ryan looks at the ticket stubs and thinks of Angelica.
My thoughts:
Wow. What an episode. I remember the first time I saw this one, I was really confused as to what happened. Makes way more sense now, but quite the twist here.
One thing that is nuts is how much is made of how 'ugly' Howard is. Are all the people around him so superficial and mean to that extent? Sadly, I can see it being true. Might be a bit played up for the drama, but people can be real jerks. Still happens to this day. So maybe I shouldn't be surprised.
The antique is quite a powerful one, basically acting like a genie's lamp in granting wishes, as long as you give it deaths, and don't let it go. Howard obviously wanted very specific things, but he could have had literally anything from it, it seems.
Our group is getting real good at investigating things, but you have to wonder if the cops have questions about these people always wanting information on things. A recurring cop or someone on the inside would have helped with this.
Glad to have the three of them back together after three episodes with them apart.
The final transformation on stage in front of the crowd and the at home viewers had to have been big news. No way to keep that a secret. I assume Micki and Ryan just took off, but all those people watched Angelica transform into Howard, who then fell and died. And Angelica was gone, too. Had to be huge news! But they make no mention of how it was explained to the world, at the end.
Do appreciate their melancholy, though. They did their best, but Angelica still died. Not easy to live with, I'm sure.

Chapter 252: The Prince’s Speech
“Good evening, Weston. I’m Scott Dearborn, bringing you a special report on the groundbreaking legislation approved today in Weston’s National Assembly."
"For the first time since the Royal Succession Act of 1817, which allowed women to inherit royal and aristocratic titles previously only available to men, succession and inheritance rights have once again been expanded in Weston to include heirs adopted into noble families – including the royal family.”
“The legislation, put forth by Devon Grey, the Earl of Buckland and the first openly gay member of the royal family, was designed to allow his adopted son with husband Grant Fellowes, the Viscount Perry, to inherit the Earl’s title. Yet, with adoption becoming more common among members of the aristocracy, the decision will impact many families – including the royal household itself.”
“The legislation had languished in the National Assembly for months and was labeled by many members a non-starter until this morning, when Prince Stephen III himself spoke in favor of the measure.”
“The ties of blood are strong, but the ties of family are stronger still. For I have two children I love equally – one a child of my blood, the other a child of my heart. Princess Stephanie is no less a Marchand than my son Michael, and I doubt that anyone in Weston, commoner or noble, would begrudge her the honor she is due for the quality of person she has become. It is time that Weston become a model for an enlightened world and become the first to embrace its adopted children as equal and deserving of the noble honors others take for granted.”
“Following the prince’s speech, Thomas Crawford, Ninth Earl of Howerton and father to an adopted son himself, called for an immediate vote on the measure, asking that each member of the house vote according to their consciences and noting that adopted children – including his own – are deserving of the honors they shall receive, if not by blood then by deed.”
“The measure passed 97 to 13, and takes effect at midnight tonight.”
“Experts are claiming that Prince Stephen’s comments – particularly those in reference to Weston’s beloved Princess Stephanie, enabled the bill to pass. In fact, a recent poll showed that Princess Stephanie has the highest approval rating in the royal family, due to her ongoing commitments to a variety of Westonian charities. She is currently a sophomore at Courtland University in Bridgeport.”
“Regardless, adopted members of noble families across Weston are heaving a sigh of relief this night, and we congratulate them on receiving the rewards they so richly deserve.”
“I’m Scott Dearborn, and we’ll be right back with more news, right here on WBN.”

no sunshine when he's gone
what: self para
where: graveyard / the void
warnings: death, blood.
He knew there was a possibility that his actions would have consequences, but Adam never expected them to be so harsh.
He was in the middle of a conversation with his newest coworker, the vampire Samuel, when he was zapped out of existence, straight into the void.
Everything was cold and numb again and in the far end of his mind Adam feared - not for him, but for Devon.
The librarian, a woman with dusty skin, lots of wrinkles and an unamused face that belonged in a museum, kept talking in a monotone that made it hard for Adam to understand, but he caught pieces of it.
"-breaking the clause 3543, appendage 542.3, on the 541868th paragraph that clearly states you were not permitted to-"
"-adding the fact that you tried to bend a fellow reaper's own contract by-"
"-we're acting within our power and right by hereby terminating your contract with The Void as of this instant-"
"-soul will be given back to the exact situation you were in the moment of the signature of the contract. It belongs to the Void still, however-"
"-possible death, your soul will be consumed by the nothingness. Are you aware, Mr. Crawford?"
He couldn't control his body, he couldn't move, but he felt his head nodding to its own accord.
"Good. Then I bid you farewell."
.
And just like that he was back to the graveyard, except this time he was screaming in pain, the sound echoing through the field.
It was painful to breathe, way too painful, and Adam sobbed, choking on the blood that filled his mouth.
In the next moment, Samuel was beside him, fangs at the ready, eyes glowing red. If he wasn't going to die as he should before, now he'd be drained to death.
That's rich.
Before the darkness consumed him, Adam's last thought was of his bedroom. The way the sunlight shined through the window that morning, how it reflected against the human's back. How his curls bounced as he stirred awake, the slurred sound of his voice.
"Morning."

Rewatching Hannibal 1x07 Sorbet, and noticing how much of it is about what happens when you don’t become the mask you wear for the rest of the world. What happens to the part of you that’s stubbornly distinct from your façade, when it’s been trapped behind it for so long that even you aren’t sure what it might look like when viewed (...seen). The fear that it’s malformed and pitiable, followed by the slim, terrifying hope that the person who glimpses it might care more about it than about your meticulously-ornamented shell. (Which, among other things, hoo boy if that ain’t a Big Queer Mood... fitting, really, that this is the episode with a gratifying little revenge fantasy about medical homophobia, serophobia, and hostile assumptions about what “ugly little secret” you must be hiding.)
And in that context, one of the Thomas Harris quotes remixed into this episode makes a lot more sense to me than it did on previous viewings: “I see [the Ripper] as one of those pitiful things sometimes born in hospitals [...] They let it die. But he doesn’t die. He looks normal. Nobody can tell what he is.” It’s a demonstration of the thing Hannibal finds most terrifying and alluring about Will: he keeps seeing through all the personae and person suits. At this point it’s through a glass darkly, but still with shocking clarity, considering he doesn’t even know what--who--he’s seeing. Hannibal spends the episode coming up with new misdirections on the spot to test him: the “Chesapeake Ripper or organ harvesters?” red herring, the little game of “two lies and a truth” with the Ripper photos in Quantico. And every time, Will demolishes the misdirections and acknowledges the tiny scraps of truth, almost effortlessly, without even realizing what he’s doing. The episode ends with Will skipping out on the Extremely Person Suit dinner party to go examine its ugly underbelly: the Ripper cases that put the food on the table. Of course Hannibal is secretly delighted at the snub.
It’s the prospect of being seen that forces Hannibal to reckon with what the thing under his many masks might look like. The thing that so stubbornly refuses to die, even when starved of connection or recognition. And the unpleasant truth is that that thing looks a lot more like Franklyn than he’d ever want to admit.
Franklyn is so cringe-inducing to watch as a character--and no doubt even more unpleasant to interact with--that, as with Freddie Lounds, the audience kinda has to wonder why Hannibal hasn’t killed him already. I suspect the answer is that he has a weird soft spot for Franklyn as a form of painful self-recognition. Trying to help Mr. Secondhand Embarrassment Personified is like watching a well-hidden, well-guarded part of himself walk around naked, no manners or charm or cultivation, none of the protections that make his person suit so well-tailored. The part that craves connection but has no idea how to go about it, the part that’s fascinated with (curious about) other people but avoids looking at the stunted void it fears is where its sense of self should be. Or, to get all purple about it: Franklyn is a man who flinches at the threshold of his innermost self, but shorn of all the exquisite mental architecture Hannibal's built himself to live in, reduced to begging anyone nearby for shelter.
Even in the next episode, Hannibal goes out of his way to encourage Tobias not to murder Franklyn, which is about as much mercy as he ever shows to people he has personal affection for but wouldn’t hesitate to kill for pragmatic reasons. Of course, because he’s Hannibal, he ends up murdering the poor bastard himself with no hesitation or remorse--but it’s not because of some line of unbearableness that Franklyn finally crossed. It’s because his desire to spite Tobias was stronger than any hope of sparing Franklyn, who by that point had probably seen too much anyway. In his next session with Bedelia he tells her one of his little sideways truths--yes, it’s funny on its face to see him go “I feel responsible for what happened to him” about the man whose neck he snapped with his own hands, but I do think he feels regret if not remorse, for not managing to engineer a situation that kept his cringey shadow self out of the line of fire.
(Side note: I suspect the reason Freddie Lounds didn’t get eaten in the very second episode is that she was the only other person to see through Will’s protective suit of “socially inept smol bean who is very distressed by the insights he gets from his Unspecified Problems Disorder.” Sure, she’s an absolute bitch about it, but she’s an absolute bitch who can pull off outfits even more outrageous than Hannibal’s--she appeals to his sense of fun. As soon as he realized she’d clocked Will as absolutely fucking seething with all kinds of dark potential 24/7, he decided her rudeness and vulgarity were far outweighed by the entertainment value of having her around to cause problems on purpose.)
(Side note #2: All of this neglects the main casefic plot, which does connect to the same themes, but somewhat less directly. The other person going around without a mask in 1x07 is Devon Silvestri, who’s also kind of an inept schlub when viewed for what he really is. He didn’t arrange that crime scene to look like a Ripper murder, he just panicked and GTFO’d--all the conflation comes from Jack Crawford’s desire to find the Ripper and from Hannibal seizing on it as an opportunity for misdirection. It does lead to some fun playing with “are the mutilations for Art (artifice, performance) or for more prosaic uses of the organs?” when the answer, of course, is that the difference between the Ripper murders and the botched organ theft is “why not both?” Silvestri’s one real deception is to pass himself off as an emergency first responder (his day job) while he’s working his less altruistic sideline, and we also get some fun triangulation when Hannibal has to take on that role for real. Will sees him, gets his first good look at Hannibal’s mastery of this skillset that he once cultivated as part of his person suit, but also sees him looking absolutely in his element as he uses his power over life and death to preserve life. He sees it even more clearly against the backdrop of Silvestri’s dubious competence and furtive discomfort with what he’s doing. In his conscious mind he accepts the best possible interpretation of that glimpse, even as he feels a bunch of less-conscious connections snap into place at the sight--ones he isn’t ready to face yet, but boy is he having Big Feelings about it. Some of which may or may not be diverting blood from his brain, and/or setting him up for uncomfortable wet dreams about Hannibal’s hands in his viscera, but thaaat’s probably a topic for another post.)
Anyway. Sorbet as an episode is about the exact opposite of “fake it ‘til you make it”--it’s about the self that doesn’t become what it performs, the wonder of having someone glimpse it no matter how well-hidden it is, and, crucially, the terror of finally examining what someone else may have glimpsed and finding it stunted, ugly, even pitiable in its isolation. Neither the “thing that doesn’t die” quote nor any of the stuff with Franklyn makes sense, IMO, without the realization that Franklyn is an uncomfortable mirror of what’s under Hannibal’s human veil--and that Hannibal is equal parts intrigued and freaked the fuck out that Will keeps catching glimpses of him through the veil.

Welcome to the family, SEBASTIAN! Your application to DEVON CRAWFORD was accepted. We’re really happy to give you your second character! Make sure to read the beginners checklist, and remember, have fun! We can’t wait to roleplay with you! Have fun!
IN CHARACTER
CHARACTER NAME: Devon Lennox Crawford (Famous Broadway Actor) CHARACTER AGE & DATE OF BIRTH: 25 FACE CLAIM: Dylan O'Brien HOMETOWN & CITY WHERE LIVES NOW: Born in England, lives in NYC SEXUAL ORIENTATION & GENDER: pansexual demi-boy (he/him non-binary) RELATIONSHIP STATUS: In a relationship and also fucking around with Stevie Evans POSITIVE TRAITS: talented, generous, amenable NEGATIVE TRAITS: sheltered, secretive, impulsive CHARACTER QUOTE/LYRIC: I don't tell you what to say I don't tell you what to do So just let me be myself That's all I ask of you I'm young and I love to be young I'm free and I love to be free To live my life the way I want To say and do whatever I please ANYTHING ELSE?: Because he is born into fame, anyone that's famous probably has a connection to him and everyone should know of him. He's been in the news since he was just a little bean on a sonogram monitor. People on Broadway currently will definitely have room for connections to him, because he's such a big name out there.
HEADCANONS
Growing up famous, he was always in the public eye. There are pictures of his sonograms on the internet. It feels normal, but he does feel like a monkey on a stage sometimes. He's had a couple scandals already, nothing problematic just dangerous. He's actually known for being incredibly kind and generous, giving to other people whenever he has an opportunity. It's been speculated in the tabloids that he has a drinking problem, despite being on Broadway (and having explicit rules that he has to follow on and off stage to represent his craft). His parents are great and loving, but he does feel pressured to live up to their legacy and he feels kin to things that child stars like the Olsen twins have said in interviews about their childhoods. He's got a bunch of VHS movies that he starred in as a child as well, it was in his late teens that he moved onto stage work instead of film and has been in starring roles on Broadway ever since.
It's that pressure that makes him want to drink, he's got more anxiety than he leads on. He's sure that nobody would understand how someone that lives in the spotlight and has everything he could ever want could feel the way that he does sometimes.
He travels between the US and UK all of the time, it's not unusual for him to get on a plane 6-12 times in a year, depending on how much work he's taking on.
Personality wise, he's a jokester. He's easy to get along with and easy to like.
CONNECTIONS
PARENTS: His mother is born in the states and his father was born in England, both coming from wealthy families and proving themselves by gaining accolades quickly. They met while performing together in the New York Symphony and their whirlwind romance was something that was gossiped about in the US And UK, because of their social status and status as celebrities. BROTHER: Adam Crawford is his older brother, their parents are why he was asked to coach and captain the Adam's Apples at NYADA. BOYFRIEND/GIRLFRIEND: He does have a significant other, s/he's someone that he was arranged to meet and was expected to at least try to date. I'm going to be really vague here because I'd like whoever was interested in this role to come to me to plot for it and I want to leave room for creative freedom. However, I do really want you to come plot with me before applying for this. CLOSE FRIEND: Someone he can sit down and gossip with and talk to honestly, even if he has to reveal some parts of himself that don't make him look good in the process. This is someone he could be talking to about cheating on his significant other with and not be judged harshly. This could be another actor and/or someone he's known since childhood. They trust each other because neither of them can trust anyone else, lest their deepest and darkest secrets end up in the tabloids. THE CO-STAR: Stevie Evans has been on the same cast on Broadway for quite some time. They just keep working together, and at this point there's something that keeps him coming back to the other man off stage too and he is most definitely cheating on his official partner with Stevie.

Character Info
Full Name: Aida Rain Anderson
Nicknames: Munchkin, Cutie-Pie, Rainbow ( Blaine only)
Birthday: undecided
Age: 15
Hobbies: Sports, reading, horseback riding, swimming
a/n
Aida Anderson is 15, she is based off my old rp character from @wellroodrp named Sarah Puckerman. Due to certain reasons and because I adored the relationship between Sarah and Blaine (@justbreatheblaine) I decided to redo her as Blaine's little sister. I choose the name Aida Rain because I think it sounds beautiful and since Cannocially they went Cooper then Blaine I thought they'd name the 3rd child something with an A. In the rp in the town of Wellwood the Glee characters were residents( like Blaine, Sebastián, and Quinn to name a few) and lived in manors/mansions or servants ( characters like Kurt, Tina, Brittany etc)
Bio
Aida is the younger sister of Blaine and Copper Anderson. She is very close with Blaine ,but most days can't stand Cooper. She is an amazing student ,always staying on the honor roll, and in mostly advanced classes. She attends Crawford Day, which is Dalton's (her brother's school) sister school. Luckily the schools are across from each other so she'll sometimes meet Blaine for lunch. One thing Aida hates is that her brothers are legends at both schools. She's often compared to Blaine and held to the Teacher’s standards of him. If she gets in trouble or does anything at school Blaine is always the first to find out and will be the one to "discipline' (usually getting on to her) about ut, especially since she can't lie to him. Aida is shy but once she gets to know you she'll open up a little bit. She also has a beautiful singing voice but is too scared to share it. She is also the one who set Kurt and Blaine up as well as was the first one Blaine came out to. She often serves as Blaine's muse for song writing.
